What’s Okay?

Work Text:

Somehow their just one beer and bar food after work had turned into one beer, bar food, and crashing Joakim’s apartment to watch the football match. The match had long since ended and yet they were all still here, scattered across his living room furniture, with reruns of an old sitcom serving as the background noise for their casual conversations.

On the couch, Tommy was snuggled up against Joakim, looking incredibly pleased about it. On Joakim’s other side, Chris had turned to lean against the armrest, feet in Joakim’s lap. One of Joakim’s hands was resting on Tommy’s hip, the other was tapping a beat against Chris’s shin. Hannes had claimed the loveseat with Pär, happily cuddled up against the alpha.

They’d been talking about everything and nothing at once. It was relaxing to be surrounded by his pack with no plans and no expectations after a long week at work. It was a shame that Hannes was going to potentially disturb their nice evening. But a thought had been nagging at him all week and now was as good a time as ever to voice it. Better than most actually as they’d come to a natural lull in the conversation, the five of them content to just exist with each other.

Hannes took a steadying breath and then broke the silence. “Tommy, can I ask you something?”

Tommy shifted a little against Joakim, twisting to get a better look at Hannes. There was a touch of confusion in his features, as he peered seriously at Hannes across the small space between the two couches, like he could figure out the question by intuition alone.

“Always,” Tommy answered, giving up on divining the question. “Is something wrong?”

Hannes shook his head, keenly aware that he had the undivided attention of the whole pack now. “Nothing’s wrong. I think anyway. I just wanted to know if you were okay with what happened last Sunday.”

The confusion only deepened on Tommy’s face. “More than okay. I definitely wanted to be scented by all of you.”

“Not just scenting though.” Hannes tried to prompt Tommy.

Tommy pushed himself off of Joakim, sitting upright now. “Huh? What do you mean?”

It took Hannes a moment to work out how to phrase it without it coming across wrong. After all, the perceived issue could just be in Hannes’s head. A product of over-thinking.

Swallowing his own awkwardness, Hannes finally landed on, “What happened after. You were pretty scent drunk and we didn’t talk about how far any of us were willing to go before things started happening.”

“Oh.” A faint blush appeared on the tops of Tommy’s cheeks. To Hannes’s relief, no hint distress was detectable in his scent. “I wasn’t that scent drunk. Scent tipsy might be a better way of describing it. Definitely was aware and participated enthusiastically in what was going on.”

“You’re sure? You’re not, like, just saying that right?” Hannes asked, seeking reassurance not just for his own peace of mind but to ensure Tommy was telling him the truth.

He would never forgive himself if their omega got hurt, even unintentionally. They needed to look out for each other, think about everyone’s needs and comfort. He couldn’t help but think they may have failed at that just a little on Sunday.

“I’m sure. Nobody touched me in any way I wasn’t okay with.” Tommy smiled gently at him. “Can I ask you something?”

Hannes cocked his head to one side. “Of course.”

“Have you ever been with an alpha and an omega at the same time?” Tommy asked, no judgment in his voice. “Before Sunday I mean.”

Now it was Hannes’s turn to blush. For a brief moment he keenly felt his age in relation to the rest of the pack. The four years between him and Tommy was the smallest gap but that was still four years of experience he didn’t have. And that was without thinking about the ten years between him and Joakim. There were probably dozens of things that the others had done that he simply hadn’t had the chance to yet. Though why this particular one mattered, Hannes couldn’t guess.

“I haven’t,” He admitted. “Haven’t been with many omegas, in general.”

Tommy hummed thoughtfully. “That makes sense.”

“Gee, thanks.” Hannes grumped, folding his arms across his chest.

Pär rubbed a hand over Hannes’s shoulder. It was a comforting gesture. He let himself lean into him a little more as the alpha wrapped his arm around Hannes’s shoulders.

“Sorry. I didn’t mean anything bad by it. Just that it makes sense why you would have been concerned about what happened on Sunday.” Tommy smiled gently at him. “Which is very sweet by the way.”

“What do you mean?” Hannes asked, relaxing his posture.

“I just mean it would have been harder for you to tell how far gone I was or was not.” Tommy explained. “Trust me, when an omega is well and truly scent drunk, it’s very obvious. Sunday, I was still aware enough to voice my discomfort with anything that was happening. I shouldn’t have been, like, driving or anything but I still knew what was going on.”

“I’ve seen scent drunk omegas before.” Hannes retorted, defensive reflex kicking up naturally. “Plus betas get scent drunk too. I know what it’s like.”

He might not have a lot of experience with omegas, but he wasn’t completely wet behind the ears. He’d been around the block more than a few times. Touring had provided him with opportunities. Maybe not as many as the rest of them but still it wasn’t like he was completely new to this type of thing.

“If there wasn’t an alpha involved, you’ve probably never seen an omega at peak scent drunk. It takes a lot for a beta or a few betas to get even a small omega well and truly scent drunk,” Tommy explained. “And yes, you and Chris get scent drunk but it’s different. How affected a beta can be by scent is pretty different from an omega.”

“But there were two alphas there on Sunday.” Hannes pointed out the obvious, gesturing at Joakim and Pär. “Unless I’ve missed something.”

“You’re right. But at-,” Tommy cut himself off, figiditing awkwardly with his fingers before continuing in a slightly rushed pace. “At my size it takes a lot for me to lose myself. I’ve only had it happen a handful of times because it’s so much work for the alphas involved.”

“Even still,” Joakim spoke up. “Hannes has a point. We didn’t know that. We should have talked more before doing anything. What if the two of us combined had been enough to send you past your comfort point? The last thing any of us want is to cross a boundary when you're in a vulnerable position. That goes for all of you.”

“Unless you were actually trying to get me that scent drunk, I doubt you could do it by accident,” Tommy muttered, eyes a little downcast. “But I see your point. There are things we should discuss.”

Hannes felt a twinge of sadness at Tommy’s self deprecating words. It wasn’t the first time Hannes had heard them but everytime he did he hoped it would be the last. Did Tommy fit the stereotypical omega mold? No. Did Hannes care? Also no. And he’d bet his favorite drum sticks that no one else in this pack did either. It was just going to take a lot to convince Tommy of that.

“No time like the present,” Pär said gently, break Hannes out of his thoughts. “I’m glad nothing happened that you weren’t okay with but it was more by coincidence than by design. I’d much rather it be by design.”

“Agreed,” Chris chimed in, catching Tommy’s eye. “Not to force you into an awkward position but the elephant in the room is, what are you okay with when you’re scent tipsy?”

“Oh, uh,” Tommy diverted his gaze, fingers twisting in his lap. “Hands, over or under clothes and mouths, I guess.”

“No guessing,” Pär admonished gently. “There’s no wrong answers. Only what you feel comfortable with. Nothing’s set in stone either. This is a new relationship for all of us, it’s okay if you’re not ready for some things yet but may be in the future.”

Tommy nodded firmly, picking his gaze up off the floor. “Hands and mouths, at least for now. I’d like to be fully present for our first time at least. After that-” Tommy shrugged “-things may change.”

“Any no go’s?” Joakim asked.

“Just feet. Not like a hard stop, it just doesn’t do anything for me.” Tommy shrugged. “Oh, and don’t like, sneak up on me when I’m scent tipsy.”

“So make sure our presence is known before touching you?” Joakim asked.

Tommy nodded. “Yeah. Like if I’m focused on one person just kinda say something before joining in.”

“Easy enough.” Pär smiled at him. “One more question. Do you like getting completely scent drunk or do you prefer scent tipsy, as you put it?”

“Oh. Uh.” Tommy shifted uncomfortably, a swirl of emotions in his eyes. “Don’t worry about it. It really is a lot of work.”

“I’m not concerned about that,” Pär told him gently. “I want to make sure our omega is satisfied in every aspect of our relationship.”

At the phrase “our omega”, something flashed across Tommy’s face. Pleased and excited, would be how Hannes would describe it. Tommy was certainly happy with Pär being possessive over him, if the slight flare in his scent was anything to go by.

“Same,” Joakim said before Tommy could offer a rebuttal. “Besides-” Joakim reached out and pulled Tommy into his chest “-I don’t consider scenting you for any length of time to be work. The longer, the better.”

Tommy sagged heavily into Joakim with a sigh. “You say that now, wait until you actually try.”

“Do you want us to?” Pär asked.

Tommy nodded shyly. “Yeah. It feels good. I’ve really enjoyed it, the few times it did happen.”

Curiosity getting the better of him, Hannes couldn’t help but ask, “How does it differ?”

The light pink that colored Tommy’s cheeks suddenly turned bright pink. “It’s uh- kinda hard to explain. When I’m scent tipsy, I feel really relaxed and floaty. Ya know?”

“Sure,” Hannes nodded. “I get all boneless when I’m scent drunk.”

“Right,” Tommy said. “Scent drunk for me has like another level. There’s this point where suddenly everything feels amazing. It’s um- kinda like heat but without the uh- neediness.”

“Oh.” Hannes took a moment to process.

Trying to decide if he’d ever experienced something like what Tommy was describing. But he couldn’t, if anything being scent drunk dulled sensations for him. Like feeling things through a veil, it was pleasant in its own way but the best parts were in his head not the sensations.

“I’ve seen an omega in heat,” Chris said. “I would never think to compare scent drunk to that. Almost like using the same phrase to describe two different things.”

“Yeah, I’ve never met a beta who described scent drunk the same way an omega does.” Tommy frowned slightly. “It does leave you pretty vulnerable though. Anything seems like a good suggestion when you’re that far gone because it all feels so good.”

Joakim squeezed Tommy, pulling him even closer. “Even better that we discuss things now then. So that nothing gets suggested that you wouldn’t agree to normally.”

“What about Chris and Hannes?” Tommy asked, clearly trying to deflect the focus off himself slightly. “They’re vulnerable when they’re scent drunk too. It’s different but betas are still susceptible to suggestion.”

“Mmm, you’re right,” Joakim agreed easily, nuzzling against the top of Tommy’s head. “I didn’t forget about them. Just wanted to make sure you didn’t have anything else to share with us before I asked them.”

Placeted for the moment, Tommy said, “Just I guess nothing unexpected. I’ll try most things, it’s just best if they’re brought up ahead of time.”

“Just a generally good approach if you ask me,” Chris said.

“Agreed,” Hannes said with a firm nod.

“Anything not even worth bringing up to either of you?” Pär asked, looking between Chris and Hannes.

“Uh,” Hannes glanced at Chris who gestured for him to continue. “I don’t do anything around my neck. Hands included. Bad experience.”

Hannes finished with a mumble, eyes flicking to his lap. Pär pulled him closer, wrapping both arms around him.

“I’m sorry for whatever happened, darling. You’re safe with us.” Pär’s voice was gentle and full of sincerity.

“I know. Thanks,” Hannes whispered back.

And he meant it. He trusted all of them so completely, it would have been terrifying if he wasn’t already sure that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with them. Maybe it was a little early to be so sure about that but it just felt right.

“Just to make sure we’re all on the same page,” Joakim started slowly. “What about kissing your neck? Is that okay?”

Hannes nodded. “Yeah that’s fine. Wouldn’t mind a love bite or two either.”

Joakim chuckled. “Understood.”

“Anything else?” Pär asked, brushing a stray hair behind Hannes’s ear.

“Like Tommy said, I’ll try most other things if they’re discussed ahead of time.” Hannes shrugged. “And I don’t know if we’re there yet or not, but I like to switch.”

“Good to know, even if we’re not,” Pär told him.

“What about you, Chris?” Tommy asked, watching the beta across Joakim.

“Oh, I switch too,” Chris smirked, deliberately missing the intention of the question. “Prefer to top but I’m not opposed to bottoming when the fancy strikes me.”

Tommy gave him an unamused look. “Good to know but you know that’s not what I was asking. Is there anything you’re not okay with?”

Chris shrugged. “So long as no one pulls out a knife or anything, I’m down.”

Joakim wrinkled his nose. “That’s a little extreme for my tastes.”

Chris laughed. “Can’t be too sure these days. I’ve had more than one hookup drop some extreme suggestion mid fun with no warning. Really puts a damper on things.”

Tommy looked as horrified as Hannes felt. He knew what it was like when a hookup suddenly turned into something unwanted. It was terrifying. But he wouldn’t have to worry about that now. He trusted his packmates completely to have his best interest at heart and to keep him safe.

“Were you okay?” Tommy asked.

“Yeah, yeah. I got lucky. Always seemed to happen with another beta so I still had my wits about me. Managed to get out without much of an issue. Did have to abandon one of my favorite shirts once though.”

Chris looked more upset over the loss of the shirt than anything. Though that may have been more for show than anything else.

“Glad nothing bad happened to you.” Hannes told him sincerely.

He couldn’t quite say the same about his own worst experience. Lessons had been learned though. Like not hooking up with an alpha until he knew them fairly well.

“Yeah me too. Like I said, I got lucky.” Chris gave a sideways glance at Hannes. “I know that’s not always the case.”

“You’re all in good hands now,” Pär told them sincerely. “And I hope you know that. The last thing I want is to hurt any of you.”

“Couldn’t have said it better myself.” Joakim tightened his hold on Tommy a little while glancing between Hannes and Chris. “Your happiness is the most important thing to me.”

Hannes nodded his understanding. He trusted the two of them implicitly, wouldn’t have agreed to courting if he didn’t, but it was still nice to hear it said aloud. Comforting in a way.

“What about you two?” Chris asked, looking between the two alphas. “Anything you’re not okay with?”

Hannes felt more than saw Pär shake his head, tips of his sandy hair brushing over Hannes’s face. “Nothing that’s a hard stop. Preferences, certainly, but so long as no one starts anything extreme without warning, I’ll at least consider it.”

Joakim nodded at Pär’s words. “I’ll consider most things too, except bondage and deep throating. Though the second one is more to avoid messing up my vocal cords.”

“Bondage in general or just not you being tied up?” Hannes asked.

“Tying me up is off the table completely,” Joakim clarified. “Sets off my instincts in a not fun way. I don’t get a lot out of tying up my partners but if one of you does, I’m okay with participating. Just with discussion beforehand, safe words, and I’d prefer the person tied up be sober.”

“Reasonable,” Chris said with a sharp nod. “Do you guys know the traffic light system? That’s my preferred method.”

Tommy nodded. “I like that one too. Easy to remember.”

Hannes nodded and Pär hummed his agreement.

“Traffic light is a good system,” Joakim said. “Makes it easy to gauge things.”

“While we’re sort of on the subject, can I ask something else?” Hannes glanced around at all of them.

“Of course darling,” Pär encouraged him with a squeeze. “What’s on your mind?”

“I don’t really know how it’s done in other packs, but do we all need to be together to do stuff?” Hannes asked.

“I’m not concerned by what other packs do,” Joakim said with a wave of his hand. “We’ll do what’s right for us. To answer your question though, I think that’s a group decision. What are your thoughts?”

“Oh, uh.” Hannes really hadn’t been expecting the question to be turned back on him.

Though it wasn’t like Joakim was a stereotypical alpha. Just the decision alone to share the pack with Pär rather than demand one of them assert themself as Head Alpha showed that. Hannes really shouldn’t have expected him or even him and Pär to make a universal decision.

“I guess it would be nice if we were all together for firsts but after that, I wouldn’t have a problem with just having fun with who’s available or in the mood at the moment.” Hannes shrugged. “But it’s cool if anyone’s not on board with that. To me this is a five yes, one no situation.”

Tommy gave him a quizzical look. “Five yes, one no?”

“It means we all have to agree unanimously or it’s a no go.” Hannes explained.

“Oh. Makes sense.” Tommy paused before continuing. “I agree that firsts should be a full pack thing. Special moments too; anniversaries, birthdays, things like that. Otherwise, I don’t think everyone needs to be present every time.”

“Agreed on all points.” Chris nodded. “I’ll just add that this is the kind of thing we need to be communicative about. If someone’s feeling left out, say something. On the flip side, no one should feel like they have to hide an escapade just because we weren’t all there. If we’re going to agree to this arrangement, we should also agree to being open about it.”

“Communication is key,” Pär said. “In all aspects of a relationship but especially when it comes to sex.”

“Fair point,” Chris agreed. “What are your thoughts, Pär?”

“I’m okay with it. Like you’ve all said, being all together for firsts and special times would be a requirement for me as well.” Pär paused for a moment, before continuing. “I’m not sure if needs to be said or not, but I’m not okay with any of you having sex with anyone not in this room right now. That would be a major issue for me.”

“Same,” Joakim said, firmly.

“Wasn’t even on my radar,” Hannes told them truthfully.

“Mine either.” Chris’s dark eyes held nothing but sincerity.

“Wouldn’t even consider it,” Tommy added.

“Glad we’re all on the same page about that,” Joakim said. “As for the other topic, I’m also of the same mind. We should be together for important things but if I’m working late on like a random Tuesday and y’all are feeling frisky, have at it. Just maybe send me a pic or two.”

Chris grinned lecherously at the alpha. “Noted.”

“You’re gonna regret saying that, Jocke.” Hannes chuckled.

“Why would I regret getting pictures of you all?” Joakim said with a playful grin. He ran a hand slowly along Tommy’s side as he spoke. “You’re all so pretty to start with. I’m sure you’re absolutely gorgeous when you’re wrecked.”

“Wreck me yourself and find out.” Chris winked at him with a grin.

Joakim let out a low growl. “Careful what you wish for, babe.”

“Think we’ll get a show?” Pär stage whispered against the shell of Hannes’s ear.

“Only if we’re lucky,” Hannes whispered back.

“Not tonight you’re not.” Joakim playfully glared at them. “Far too late and a few too many beers for that sort of thing right now.”

“Aw,” Tommy pouted, exaggeratedly sticking out his bottom lip.

“Plenty of opportunities in the future, sweetheart,” Joakim told Tommy, caressing his cheek gently.

“I’m gonna hold you to that,” Tommy told him firmly.

Joakim chuckled. “Gladly.”

For a moment they were quiet, just the sound of the TV between them. Hannes took a moment to breathe in Pär’s dark lager scent, letting it fill his lungs with each inhale. From the moment he’d met him, Hannes had found Pär’s scent attractive. Deep and rich, it had enticed him. Now he got to practically bathe in it. Better yet, he got to carry his scent on his own skin alongside three others that he loved just as much.

He felt Pär inhale before he spoke. “Chris.”

The beta hummed, turning his full attention to the alpha. “What’s up?”

“On Sunday, you implied that you and Tommy had hooked up before…” Pär trailed off.

“Oh, yeah, that.” Chris scratched at the back of his neck looking a little sheepish.

Tommy planted a hand on Joakim’s chest, leveraging himself up for a better look at Chris. “You told him?”

“Not details!” Chris defended himself. “Just that we had done stuff together before. That’s it, I swear!”

Tommy huffed, flopping back down against Joakim. The alpha grunted but otherwise didn’t complain.

“Wait, you two hooked up before we committed?” Hannes asked, finger flicking between Chris and Tommy.

“Once.” Tommy held up a single finger.

“Alcohol and, what is apparently, mutual attraction. It was a one time thing. We were just drinking and jamming and then somehow we were doing a little more than that.” Chris elaborated further. “It was like a month before these two got their heads out of their asses.”

“Said you wouldn’t mention it,” Tommy mumbled, a tinge of genuine upset on his face.

“That was before we knew it wouldn’t mess anything up,” Chris tried to explain himself.

“Still…” Tommy frowned.

“To be fair to Chris, he only told me as an explanation for why he was sure you’d be okay with him helping you get off,” Pär told him. “I was also a little concerned you were too scent drunk to go any further.”

“Oh,” Was all Tommy said.

“You’re right though,” Chris said. “I shouldn’t have gone back on my word without checking with you first. That was wrong of me.”

“I forgive you.” Tommy glanced around. “Did I really seem that much more scent drunk than Chris and Hannes?”

“Honestly,” Pär said slowly. “Yes. You were slurring your words and your eyelids were pretty droopy. Not to mention very pliant, you put up no resistance to being moved.”

“I really didn’t feel that scent drunk,” Tommy said. “Like I was a little more than I’ve gotten in previous hookups but not by that much. I remember everything that was going on and I know I was okay with everything that happened.”

“In the end that’s what matters,” Joakim told him gently. “As we get more familiar with each other in bed, we’ll get better at reading you.”

“Other than being concerned for your comfort, I didn’t have a problem with how scent drunk you were,” Pär added. “It was very attractive to have you under me in that state. I’m definitely looking forward to the next time, especially now that I have a better understanding of what you’re okay with.”

Tommy turned pink and turned to bury his face fully in Joakim’s chest, hair cascading over his shoulders hiding him completely from view. Joakim smiled down at the omega in his arms, running a hand over the back of his head.

“Do you not want to be attractive to your pack?” He asked, playfully.

There was a pause and Tommy visibly huffed.

“Of course I want to be,” was Tommy’s muffled reply.

“Well that’s good,” Chris told him. “Because I’ve thought you were the prettiest thing since the first time I laid eyes on you.”

“God, same,” Hannes breathed out. “Those jeans he was wearing that day? Did him so many favors.”

“I wear those jeans all the time. There’s nothing special about them.” Tommy was still refusing to lift his head up.

“I beg to disagree.” Hannes grinned at him even though Tommy couldn’t see it. “I admire your legs every time you wear them.”

“He has very nice legs,” Pär agreed. “But what I noticed first and what really drew me to him, was his eyes. Gorgeous baby blues that always have a happy sparkle in them.”

“Our Tommy is beautiful. There’s no denying that.” Joakim brushed Tommy’s hair to the side but only succeeded in revealing his ear and a small part of his cheek. “But do you want to know what I first noticed about you that day, sweetheart?”

Tommy turned his head so that one eye was peeking up at Joakim. “What?”

“Your confidence. You walked into that studio like you belonged there. Not cocky, just sure of yourself.” Joakim smiled softly, cupping Tommy’s cheek. “I should have known I was going to fall for you right then.”

“Really?” Tommy asked in a small voice, no trace of the confidence Joakim was referring to.

But Hannes knew what Joakim was talking about. Give Tommy a guitar or stick him in front of a mic and he just bloomed. He was so comfortable performing, the confidence he oozed was gorgeous. The way he was so sure of his skills was obvious in his very posture, how he carried himself. To Hannes, Tommy was always beautiful but he was at his peak when music was involved.

“Yes, really,” Joakim assured him. “Looking back now, I don’t know how I didn’t see it.”

Pär huffed. “Well I wouldn’t say you have a great track record of putting that sort of thing together quickly.”

Joakim looked up sheepishly at Pär. “I worked it out eventually, didn’t I?”

“Sure, after seventeen years, and I practically smacked you in the nose with it.” Pär retorted good naturedly.

“I knew how I felt about you long before you surprised me with your courting suggestion,” Joakim shot back.

“Then why didn’t you say anything earlier?” Pär asked.

Joakim grinned at him. “I could ask you the same thing.”

“I was afraid,” Pär muttered. “There was a lot to lose if you rejected me.”

It occurred to Hannes just how much a risk it must have felt like for the two of them. Not only was their long friendship on the line but their whole career. Hannes loved the band and gave it his all every day but he hadn’t been there since the very beginning. Hadn’t nurtured it from its very infancy into what it was today. His emotional connection to it, no matter how strong, couldn’t hold a candle to how Joakim and Pär must feel about it. There had been a lot on the line for both of them.

“What changed?” Joakim asked quietly.

“You mean other than meeting these three?” Pär asked, gesturing broadly at them.

Joakim nodded. “Yeah.”

Hannes felt Pär shrug. “We’re not getting any younger and I figured it was as good a time as any. We’ve achieved so much of our dream for Sabaton. I was ready to take the risk on achieving another dream I’ve held almost as long. Plus I figured we’d been friends for so long, if you did turn me down that night our friendship would survive. And I trusted us both to be professional enough to keep it between ourselves if it came to that.”

“To be honest, I’d been teetering on the same edge,” Joakim told him. “You just beat me to the punch.”

“Well, I for one am glad that you both figured your shit out,” Chris folded his arms over his chest, but his grin gave away his true feelings. “The tension was reaching unbearable levels.”

Joakim turned to look at Chris. “It wasn’t that bad. Was it?”

Chris just cocked an eyebrow at him.

“I thought you two had a thing going on when I first met you two,” Tommy told him.

“He was kinda shocked when I told him that you two weren’t, in fact, in a relationship,” Hannes chimed in.

“Really?” Pär asked, sounding genuinely shocked.

“Uh, yeah,” Tommy admitted. “Spent like a good month thinking you guys were dating before I asked Hannes why you hadn’t told me yet. I thought you guys were worried I’d be judgemental of an alpha/alpha exclusive relationship.”

“Took me a good while to convince him that you guys weren’t in a relationship and therefore weren’t actually hiding anything from him.” Hannes elaborated.

“Why did you think we were dating?” Joakim asked.

Tommy shrugged. “You, like, gravitate towards each other. Like if you're both in a room, it doesn’t take long before you’re hip to hip. And you’re both really good at predicting what the other is going to do or say next. I guess it just made sense.”

A little half smile crept onto Joakim’s face. “In the end, I suppose it did. Just took us longer than the rest of you to figure it out.”

Pär squeezed Hannes a little closer to his chest. “And I’m so glad we did. Because not only do I get Joakim, I get to court the three of you as well.”

“Sap,” Hannes muttered as he settled against Pär’s chest.

Pär’s answering chuckle rumbled satisfyingly through Hannes’s chest. And the kiss he placed on the top of his head made him feel warm all over. It was a good feeling, one of his alpha’s happiness physically radiating through his own chest with a gentle touch of affection. Waiting had been worth it. He would have waited longer if that’s what the others had needed but he was happy to be with them all now.

Hannes couldn’t help but think that maybe it had taken them a while to figure everything out, but maybe this is how things were supposed to unfold.

Notes:

Moving forward discussions about sexual activities may not be on screen but rest assured, if I’m writing it, all characters are on board with what’s happening.
