Hotch pulls up to the bar at 11:25.He exits his car and slams the door.The worried man makes his way inside urgently.He scans the room until he locates one intoxicated dr reid perched on a stool next to a handsy stranger.Hotch storms over swiftly and is greeted by a drunken Spencer.He rests and hand on Spencer’s shoulder and scowls at the person next to him.The man gives hotch one look over and immediately scurries off.

Hotch tries to lift spencer to a standing position by his arms but he shakes his grip and clings to his stool stubbornly.
“Come on Spencer that’s enough it’s time to go home”Hotch tries to lift Spencer again but it’s no use.
“Imm not doneeee hotchhh!”Spencer tells him in a whiny voice.
“yes you are, up now.”Aaron orders using his stern unit chief voice
“nope” Spencer challenges
“Last chance reid I’m not playing I will carry you out of here if need be”Aaron warns
Spencer sticks his tongue out at his superior ,and hotch,true to his word forcefully picks Spencer up under his arms and shifts him until he’s being carried bridal style.

Despite Spencer’s best efforts he’s unable to free himself from hotchs iron grip.
Hotch carries specner out to his car and stands Spencer up while he unlocks it and opens the passenger door, one hand around his subordinates waist to stop him running away.Atleast that’s what he tells himself.He hauls the door open and helps Spencer into the passenger seat.Hotch reaches over and buckles his seat belt while reid babbles on sleeplily about everything unhygienic in the bar.Hotch closes the door and by the time he’s settled in his seat himself, he glanced over to see the young dr fast asleep, head leaning on the window. Hotch smiles to himself noting how nice it is to see Spencer
So peaceful.He starts up the car and finds Spencer’s adress in his GPS.

He’s only been there once to drop off case files, but he happens to know reid keeps a spare key under the plant pot outside.

He pulls up to Spencer’s house and with alot of effort he manages to make it inside with him.He navigates his way to Spencer’s room while Spencer helplessly stumbles behind bumping into everything with his eyes half closed.He opens the door for his subordinate who blinks at him in confusion. Hotch sighs and guided him to sit down on his bed.

He kneels down to remove spencers shoes.He briefly wonders if he should help Spencer change into pyjamas before deciding far too many boundaries have been crossed for one night.He settles on finding some pjs out for Spencer to change into himself if he chooses but when he returns with them the tired dr is already passed out on his bed.Hotch leaves the clothes on a chair in the corner of his room and swings Spencer’s legs round so he’s laying on the bed properly. he pulls a blanket over him and heads to the kitchen.

He pours Spencer a glass of water and fishes out some painkillers for the inevitable headache in the morning.He leaves both items on his bed side table and leaves the room.Hotch is sure to lock up behind him and return the spare keys to their original position.He makes a mental note to lecture reid on how risky it is to leave the keys in such a place.But that’s for another day.

Hotch returns to his home to find Jack still asleep along with Jessica who had stayed over that night after watching his son.He checks his watch to find it’s well past 12.He sighs. The things he does for reid.
No.The things he does for his team.He means, quickly shutting down that train of thought.He was far too tired for a mental assessment of his feelings towards Spencer. He returns to his bed and sleeps a little easier, knowing that now reid is safely sleeping too.

Reid reluctantly shows up to the restaurant garcia had planned a team dinner.He wasnt originally going to go but he changed his mind when he heard hotch was going.He didn’t really feel up to it, he knew he would feel lonely even while he was with all his friends.Recently, his only friend who had been acting like a proper friend, was unexpectedly hotch.Everybody else had found some way to let him down these past couple days,one way or another.He didn’t value them any less, he was just staring to feel a little out of place around them, the bud of the joke.Except with hotch.Hotch had gone above and beyond for him recently.Caring for him in all the ways others didn’t.Maybe he was reading into it,but the exchanged looks,private messages, meaningful glances,brushing of hands were starting to feel a little personal.That’s why spencer showed up tonight.

Secretly, he’s hoping to get drunk enough hotch will care for him like he did that one night.Or maybe he’ll just take any time around him he can get.Either way, he pushes open the door to the restaurant and is guided by a waiter to the booth table garcia reserved.He made sure to be 5 minutes late as not to be the first there,but to his surprise their table is empty,save for one familiar face.Hotch.Where are the rest? Why is it just hotch? He has no time to think before hitch is standing up and pulling him into a friendly side hug.

”Hey spencer,How are you?have you heard from the rest of the team?” The older man questioned

“Um no i thought they would be here by now,i-i guess not” Spencer stuttered

“Oh.well maybe they’re running late,let’s give them some time.Here come sit down”
Aaron offered

Spencer took a seat opposite to aaron in their booth table.20 minutes pass and as much as aaron is trying, the small talk with reid isn’t cutting it anymore.He politely excuses himself to step outside for a moment, leaving a confused spencer behind.He takes out his phone and rings garcia.She immediately declines.

hotch gives up and heads back inside to join reid once again.Spencer looks up at him with big brown doe eyes and hotch give him a small smile before he notices the glaze covering them.Spencer’s tearing up.

“Spence?Whats the matter? Has something happened?”hotch inquires urgently

“N-nothing i just get really anxious in places like this and, and you..you left and i felt like everyone was looking at me.all alone.It was really embarrassing.I-i’m sorry that’s stupid i shouldn’t have said anything.”

“Oh spencer i’m so sorry i had no idea.The team aren’t coming,some funny trick i guess.What do you say we head to my house, we can order take out?Jacks at jessica’s so it would just be us”Hotch asks forwardly

“Of course you don’t have to, just know the offers there.Im just Sorry your time got wasted too”aaron cleared up

“Um i would like that actually,and i’m not surprised.The teams been pulling a lot of ‘funny tricks’ recently.” spencer muttered

“Yeah they have.Cmon let’s go, you didn’t drive here right? Il drive us.”

Hotch and reid head out to hotchs car.Hotch opens the car door for him and they both experience a brief deja vu of that one night they both often think about.The drive to aaron’s house is filled with comfortable silence.When they arrive, spencer enters the house and acknowledges everything,secretley profiling just as he expects aaron did at his home.They head to the living room and aaron makes a call to the local chinese.

They end the night with wine and food, they attempted to watch a christams film due to the season,but they ended up watching documentaries about scientific things aaron didn’t understand,but he watched gladly just to hear spencer’s running commentary he was so very interested in.They both felt sad as the night ended.Aaron didn’t want the boy to leave.He found he enjoyed his company alot.

As they got to the door ready to say goodbye,they both gasped lightly
at the sight of aaron’s driveway.Snow covered everything in sight, easily a good 5 inches.How had so much snow appeared in the short time they had spent together?Surely it hadn’t been that long.Reid thought,they arrived at aaron’s house at 9:15pm and he checked his watch to realise it was now 1:24am.Oh.So it has been enough time for this much snow.Before reid could try and talk his way out of getting home through that. hotch shut the door.

“Well obviously you won’t be getting home in that, there’s a spare bedroom, you’ll stay here tonight”he clarified

“Oh um thank you that’s really generous”spencer replied, unsure of what to say.

“Of course”aaron replied, leading spencer up the stairs.He showed him to the bathroom and then to the guest bedroom.He let him get settled in then gave him a clean towell and lended him some of his own pyjamas and boxers he ensured spencer were unworn.Spencer made his way to the bathroom.He pulled his vest and dress shirt over his head and removed his trousers and boxers.He climbed into the shower and turned the water on.He bathed lethargically.He glanced around.Everything about this bathroom was so incredibly hotch.He loved it.He felt so close to aaron.He fought the urge to relieve himself before deciding he was too tired.He stepped out of the shower and inspected his eyebags in the steamy mirror.

He eyed himself in the mirror self consciously.He then pulled on the fresh boxer briefs aaron lended him.Deep down he wished he had of given him a pair he had worn before,but feeling guilty he quickly shook that thought.Aaron had given him grey jogger bottoms and a plain white t shirt.He wore them and eyed his appearance yet again.He felt significantly less self conscious in hotchs clothes.He admire the way the joggers hung low on his hips.Being way too big for his small frame, they revealed almost his entire midriff,his pearly skin peeking out from beneath the white t shirt that clung loosely to his waist.Despite the clothes being freshly washed, they smelt so undeniably of hotch.He felt himself growing hard again.

He shook away the thoughts and opened the bathroom door.He was startled to see hotch stood there.

“Sorry,sorry.I was just coming to check you had everything you neede…”his words trialed off as he let his eyes roam down spencer’s thin frame.His eyes lingered on the way his own joggers were hanging on his hips in such a mesmerising way.He eyed the milky white skin he could see under this own shirt.Spencer, in his clothes.His.He quickly averted his eyes as not wanting to make his subordinate uncomfortable.
Spencer felt hotchs eyes roaming over his body and was blushing furiously by the time hotch looked back up.

“T-Thank you for your hospitality, hotch i really appreciate it.Anyway um goodnight”
Spencer mumbled and slipped past aaron’s large frame in the doorway.Aaron watched him approach the guest room before making his decision.He knew a good thing when he saw one.And it was time for him to be selfish for once.He caught up with the boy and wrapping a large hand around his slim waist, another in his brown coils he took what was now his, and joined their lips together passionately.

Spencer reciprocated and melted into it.Caging the youngers tongue between his own lips he enticed a whimper from the boy.They kissed for a good 3 minutes before spencer pulled back to catch his breath.They stared at one another in shock for an intense moment before the heat became too much and hotch was pushing reid back into his bedroom their lips meeting again.

That nighy, as spencer was sprawled out on top his bosses chest,watching the snow slowly fall just outside the window,he began feeling grateful.Grateful he had chosen to come tonight.Listened to his gut.Grateful he opened up to hotch in the restaurant, grateful for the snow and grateful for the wine.Grateful for aaron.Grateful things had worked out well for him finally.By now he had deduced why they were really alone at the restaurant tonight,and despite himself,he was grateful for his friends.He let himself fall to sleep listening to the rise and fall of his lovers chest.
