Summary:

My first ever fic; Threads s8x18;
Sam and Jack arrive at the cabin a few days before Teal’c and Daniel; Having both battled their feelings for one another for years, Samantha Carter is in for a surprise.

Work Text:

Jack and Sam had arrived at the cabin a few hours earlier; they
had a couple of days to themselves, before Teal' and Daniel were due to
join them. They both needed the time to decompress; her more so ... she'd had an horrendous couple of weeks, with her dad dying and her engagement to Pete ending. But for both of them-the battle against
their two major enemies were over, now it was time to recharge.
After arriving, they'd unpacked and sorted out the groceries:they'd eaten dinner and shed excused herself to go and freshen-up.
As she made her way out of the en-strite and back into the main cabin, she was caught off guard by the noise of a
a guitar strumming outside . She slowly made her way towards
the patio doors, to find Jack O'New sat in front of a lit fire-pit, guitar in hand. He gestured towards her, inviting her to take
a seat next to him ... the atmosphere was magical, especially with
the glow of the firelight and the twinkling stars of the Minnesota sky above them. However, he surprised her even
further, when he began to sing as he played...

I could feel my feelings growing stronger for you and I tried so
hard to hide to hide them. I know you felt it too.
But trying to deny how I feel for you, Is like trying to survive without
oxugen or trying to escape gravity...
In all honesty, you are my binary star, my other half, you complete
Me.
You've literally been to Netu by my side, stood with me with me through
both the bad and the good. We've been so through much together, probably more than people ever should.
I know we agreed four years ago to leave it in the room,
because we were we bound by our sense of duty but my angel, my binary star I
can no longer escape the gravity that's always been pulling me
to you.
For eight long years, I’ve tried to hide what is true…Samantha Carter, I love you.
He finished playing and they were both looking at each other.
echoing the same look then'd given each other on opposite
sides of a force held four years ago. He put the guitar to
one side as she moved closer towards, leaning her forehead against his.
"Jack O'Neill, that was beautiful and I love way too, more than you will ever know." She said leaning into kiss him.
Their lips tentatively came together at first, but it didn’t take long before both of them couldn’t hold back the eight years of longing for each other.
As they broke apart, the need for air becoming to great; it was now Sam’s turn to surprise him. “I do have one question though?”
“Oh and what’s that?”
“Marry me, Jack O’Neill?”
For the first time in his life, he was lost for words.
