Chapter Text

Mask does not like snow. Snow was just more of a reason to stay inside, in the warmth of his apartment, all alone. No one ever came round to hangout anyway. Except Skull. He was always very happy to hangout with Mask. The cyan inkling was waiting for him to appear at any moment, having made some hot chocolate for the two. He placed them on the coffee table near the TV. tap...tap. Mask heard some tapping on his window.

"The fuuck..?"

The inkling got up from the couch and walked towards his window. He opened the curtain covering the window. He then opened the window.

"Hiii M-mask"

Skull was outside, shivering. The cold was messing with his words.

"Yoou look cooold...wanna come iiinsideee?"

"C-can you come outside..?"

"Uhhh...I dunnoooo"

"Pleeease?"

Mask was very indecisive...not when it came to Skull tho..he would do anything for him.

"Alriiight...but im bringiiing a blanket"

Mask slowly walked away from the window and went to his bedroom. He dug through his closet until he found a blanket that would fit over both inklings. After he did find one, he put a thick coat over his body and took a step outside. He didn't even feel the cold. (as he is a pretty cold inkling himself)

"H-ow are you not cold? It's freezing!"

"Noo it isn't..anyway do yooou want the blaaanket?"

"Co-d yes please.."

Mask took slow steps, enjoying the sound of the snow crunching. He took the blanket and put it on Skulls back, almost taking away the aggresive shivering.

"Feel betterrr?"

"Yeah...I suppose"

"Good"

"Are you not going to come sit next to me?"

"Huuh..?"

"Sorry, I made it weird-"

"No no, it's fiiine. I was about to ask"

The shorter inkling moved closer to Skull, both brushing shoulders. A silence fell between them. It was however, a comfortable silence. They were staring at each other intensely. Skulls expression softened a bit. Mask noticed a bit of purple blush forming on Skulls face. He's so sweet sometimes...and pretty..Now there was cyan blush on his face.

"Mask? Are you there? Hello??"

"Huh..uh yeeeah...im fineee"

"Can we go inside? It's really c-cold"

"Yess ofcourseee"

Both inklings got up in an instant and walked through the thick snow slowly forming onto the ground. 

"Heyy apparently thereee's going to be a strong snooow storm tonight, do you wanna stay untiiiil it's over?"

"Yeah.."

Mask opened the door and let Skull in, clearly taking in the warmth of the apartment.

"That's way better...is that..?"

"Hot chocolate? Yeeah it isss"

"Aw man...I should've went inside..."

"It's fine...it wasn't bad..at all"

"Really?"

"Yeah..I know I liiiked it"

Mask was not lying. He thought the silence was nice and comfortable. His face was all hot and flushed. But how could it not? The thought of Skull send some shivers down his back. In a good way. But those thoughts would soon become reality. Hopefully. He wished so.

"Mhh..this tastes amazing...you make great hot chocolate.."

"Thaaaanks.."

His voice...oh how much I love him...He was to drowned in his thoughts to think about what he was about to do. He walked towards the purple inkling and pulled him into an embrace.

"Huh?"

"Im sooorry.."

"I-uh..UHHH"

"Hm?-"

OH SHIT

Skull was staring at the ground, trying not to show the flush on his face. He looked like he was smiling tho. Maybe he did like it after all.

"OOH MY COD! IM SO SORRYYY! I really fuuucked up!"

"No no...it's fine! I was just...caught a bit off guard"

"...what?"

"Do that again"

"HUH?!"

"You heard me...do that again, please"

"Well...I can't say nooo..."

Mask did not hesitate. He pulled onto Skulls arm and took him to the couch. It was already full of blankets and other miscellaneous soft objects. Both inklings laid down on their sides, staring at each other dearly. Mask pulled a blanket over the both of them. They grew drowsier by the minute, not moving of speaking. Skull however, was not having it.

"Are you not gonna cuddle with me?"

"Woow, you're demandiiing today!"

"You know im not patient!"

"Im jussst messing wiiith you! Of course I will!"

Skull moved himself closer. Just inches apart...Don't do it..don't think about it...fuck this im doing it. Mask moved his hands towards the back of his head and removed his gas mask.

"You should do that more often...you know, when we are inside..."

"I will...if yooou do the same..."

"Ofcourse..."

Skull untied his bandanna, revealing a very comforting smile.

"You're so beautiiful, Skull..."

"I can say the same back at ya..."

Mask got closer. Skull looked at him. What is he thinking? Whatever it was, it didn't matter. Mask cupped his cheek and gave him a gentle kiss. Skull looked shocked, clearly he wasn't expecting that. But he went with it. He didn't wish to be anywhere else. Their ink colours mixed, Mask tentacle turning purple at the tip, Skulls in cyan in exchange. Both pulled apart a lot later then intended, blushing furiously and exchanging warming smiles.

"Oh my cod...that was..wooow.."

"I've been waiting so long for you to do that...I was too fucking scared..."

Mask didn't respond. Instead he cuddled with Skull. It was so warm and wholesome. He felt happy. Genuine happiness. Something he's only felt around Skull.

"That..does mean we are boyfriends..right..?"

"Yeah..yooou airhead.."

"Im your airhead...I love you.."

"I love you too.."

The room was lit up by a purple and cyan glow...so beautiful. They both slowly melted into their cuddles, falling asleep in the process

Aloha and Army were going to come over the hangout with the rest of the S4...they were not expecting to see two inklings sleeping together on the couch. With their ink colours mixed..or a sudden weird glow...

"Armyyyyy it's cold!! Do we really have to go??"

"Yes Aloha. Knowing how early Skull gets, we are late! Now get a move on!"

"Ughhhh fine..Why does he get so early? He's never on time on our meetings!"

"I don't think I can answer that"

"What about how he can glow?? Mask can do that too, but Skull?? Why does he just glow every now and then?"

"Same answer like before..I can't answer that"

Army knew something that Aloha didn't. First, Skull's an absolute softie when it comes to Mask. Any time after any type of interaction, he would come and tell Army about it. Second, Skull is a glowfly squid, like Mask. So yea..he couldn't just tell Aloha! That would mean he's betraying Skull privacy! But then again..he wanted Aloha to shut the hell up.

"Alright..geez...don't be a fucking prick.."

"I am not a prick! It's just confidential, alright?!"

"So you do know! Tell me pleaseee!"

"Maybe later...NOW GO YOU SLOW SHIT"

"WELL THEN FUCK YOU TOO!"

Aloha proceeded to show his middle finger. Army did the same. Cod Aloha was so fucking nosy. They both walked in silence until they got closer to the apartment.

"Ok...do you still want to know?"

"Excuse me? Of course I do, dumbass!"

"So first...Skull might feel very close to Mask..."

"No shit..give me more details!"

"That's all your getting!"

"Atleast it's something..."

Army pushed the door to the apartment...It isn't even closed properly...what are they up too...

"Why is it so quiet?"

"Aloha SH. Im trying to figure out.."

Army knew the layout of the apartment. The living room was to the left. 

"Ok..follow me...be quiet"

"Alright..."

Aloha basically tip toed. He was confused, but followed Army's commands. Army stopped walking. He saw from the corner of the wall a very bright glow. More specifically two. A purple and a cyan one.

"Since when does Mask have LED lights??"

"I don't think there's any LED lights..."

Army walked around the corner. And that's when he saw his two other teammates on the couch, asleep and cuddling together.Cod damn finally, took him long enough. Now Aloha was shocked. Jaw dropped lower than it ever did. 

"WOAH..WHAT...SINCE WHEN?!"

"SH...they're sleeping.."

"Right..but look at them. Aw~"

"I really have to agree with you. Awww-"

Army was cut off by them waking up, clearly looking more tired than ever. Skull snuggled in Masks shoulder, giving off a brighter glow from both inklings. It was really mesmerizing to see the glow.

"You fuckiiing..*yawn* woke us uppp...fuck you..."

"AW~ THIS IS TOO MUCH IT'S TOO FUCKING CUTE~" 

"Ow...Aloha stop yelling! My ears hurt now..."

"Oh, sorry...I was really excited to see Mask actually showing affection? Like what???"

"He's a good cuddler too..."

"SH...no im nooot!"

"I think you are!"

"I-...thank you Skull..."

"Your welcome"

Aloha was fangirling all over the place. It was funny to see. Mask moved over a bit to give Skull another kiss. Again a gentle and sleepy one.

"Holy fuck. You kiss too?"

"Alright but isn't that obviiious?"

"AYAYAYAY YOU TWO ARE SO FUCKING CUTE OH MY COD"
