The Little Raven

Summary:

“ Wait- What do you mean she’s a Little?” Enid questioned as she watched Wednesday smack at the black bear on her bed, “Why didn't I know this when she first came back?”

There was a sigh from the other side of the phone, “It’s exactly what I just told you.” Pugsley stated on the other end, “Her seventeenth birthday was yesterday, that’s when classifications happen, right?”

Notes:

Hi this first chapter took like a month to write so I hope you enjoy! The next one may take just as long but it will be worth it!

Chapter 1: She's been classified

Chapter Text

Enid woke up to the sound of a chair being scraped on the floor. Glancing at the clock in the room, it read 4:56 am. Knowing Wednesday, she's normally up not too long before this. Although this is the first time she's ever been awoken by the normally silent girl.

"Willa?" Enid croaked out, still very much half asleep. The movement stopped for a brief moment, the only sounds were heavy breathing from the other occupant of the room. "Hey, are you okay?" She asked, blindly reaching for her table lamp to illuminate the room.

"I don't know… " Wednesday quietly whispers, "I do not feel like… myself." She blinked slowly and looked over to the werewolf that was only a few paces away.

Looking at Wednesday, Enid sat up with a raised eyebrow. "Do you think you ate something weird?"

Wednesday shook her head no. She found while looking at Enid's bed, for once it didn't seem so vomit inducing. It kinda seemed comfortable? Especially with her friend sitting next to the large blue elephant she used as a cuddle buddy.

"I think there definitely is something going on." Wednesday looked at her own bed and it didn't seem so appealing at the moment. Nothing but her own black stuffed animal and her sheets lay on it. Not as eye-catching as Enid's.

"Do you need anything? Want me to get the nurse?" Enid asked worriedly, watching as Wednesday looked between the two beds.

The goth shook her head again. "I think I just need to lay back down…"  But the girl didn't move, she really had an urge to pile up in Enid's bed with her.

Enid nodded, "I can help you back into your bed." The dark haired girl nodded. Getting up, she gently grabbed Wednesday's arm to help her cross the small gap between the desk and the black bed. Wednesday leaning into Enid, shook her head again before she could sit down.

"Want your bed… " Wednesday whispers. Enid was taken aback slightly, surprised at what barely came out as a breathe . With her advanced hearing, she didn't need to ask Wednesday what she meant.

"If that's what you want? Don't you have an allergy to color though?" Enid questioned, standing next to Wednesday's bed.

Wednesday sighed and turned her head, "I have a mild allergy. Nothing I can not handle." Looking at her feet, she wanted to cover them in something soft. The floor felt bare and cold to her skin. "Besides, I've been taking allergy medicine ever since coming to the school." Maybe that is what's making her feel weird? That has to be it…

Enid nodded, confused. She watched as Wednesday snapped her free hand, holding it open. Quickly, Thing came out of his bed inside her desk, looking up at the two girls.

"Thing. I need you to get me some different medicine. I think the type I am taking right now is messing with my head." Wednesday hypothesized. Thing gave a salute and ran to the dog door they had installed in the room. Presumably heading to the infirmary.

"Now then," she turned to the blonde who's still trying to keep her steady. "It's night night time."

"It's actually like five in the morning. Are you sure you don't want to stay up and get ready for school now?" Enid questioned. "I mean we have to get up in about an hour anyw-" she was cut off by Wednesday glaring at her. "Alright! Night night time!"

The goth girl nodded a small twitch on her lips. She carefully walked to the other side of the room with Enid and plotted herself on the now, cold bed. Enid opened the sheets and moved to the far end on the bed, closest to the edge.

“Is this good? I can try and give you more sp-” Enid was quickly grabbed and pulled into the bed by thin arms. “She’s stronger than she looks!” She quietly squealed when Wednesday buried her head into her back.

“G’Night Enid.”

“Mmhmm, night Willa…” Enid replied, now wide awake as the small girl’s breath evened out. She didn’t know what was going on but it definitely wasn’t normal. After a few moments, she rolled over to face Wednesday, making their foreheads touch. Satisfied there is no fever, she rested with her eyes closed till her alarm went off.

—------------

About an hour later the sound of k-pop filled the room.

“Nhhhe…” Wednesday groaned, “Turn off…” Enid was already reaching for the phone on her night stand.

“Good morning to you too,” Enid giggled as Wednesday buried her head into her shoulder, grabbing the pink shirt. Enid has to suppress a gasp at the unprompted contact, still unsure about her bedmate being sick. It reminded her of a clingy child. “C’mon, Wen’s we have to get up. Class starts in two hours.”

The goth whined but sat up, releasing her grip to let the blonde move. As soon as Enid got off the bed, she suppressed whimpers at the loss of contact. They came out as a quiet grunt instead. Wednesday flopped forward into the knitted blanket.

Enid looked at her, “You sure you don’t want me to get the nurse?” The smaller girl turned her head to glare, “No. Got it.”

Dark eyes moved to the bedside table, Thing left a bottle of her new medicine there. Along with a note, assuming, on how to take them. Dragging her legs from under the warm blanket, she swung them over the side. Disregarding said note, she popped two in her mouth and chewed them. Enid scrunched up her face, not even able to take pills with water.

Walking to the bathroom door, the werewolf turned her head, “I’ll be ready for breakfast in ten minutes.”  The smaller girl gave a nod,getting ready to stand. Enid closed the door, leaving it cracked slightly to listen for anything.

Wednesday prepared herself to get ready for the day. Standing up, she swayed rather harshly back onto the bed. The springs creaked under the force of her body falling into it. Sucking in a breath, she tried again. This time more successful, making her way to her wardrobe.

Thing crawled out from his bed in the desk again, creeping towards Wednesday. He watched as she picked up her uniform, inspecting it. After a moment she deemed it usable for the day. Taking off her night shirt and shorts, she pulled on the long sleeve button down. Getting the buttons on seemed to be more of a challenge. She fumbled with them for a minute before she had the helping hand do it for her. Getting on the long skirt was easier than the shirt, putting her legs in one at a time. Before she could pull it up though, she tripped on the bottom of the skirt.

Tearing open the door, Enid saw Wednesday face first into the wooden floor. Noticing how she fell, the taller girl offered her hand. When the goth sat up, her nose was red from where it hit the floor. Thing watched this happen silently.

 “Ready?” Wednesday asked as she rubbed her sore face. Enid nodded, knowing better than to bring up what just happened, “Alright, let us go and eat.” Grabbing her blazer, she swung it over her shoulder.

Both girls make their way to breakfast in the quad. The food was spread out on multiple tables, ranging from pancakes and eggs to muffins and cereals. The variety of food that was in front of them was nothing new. Enid usually loads up her plate with the different kinds of meats and eggs, while Wednesday grabs a corn muffin and tea.

This morning was no different for Enid, grabbing her food although she put a chocolate chip waffle on her plate instead of eggs. Wednesday’s eyes grazed the table looking for the corn muffins, finding only crumbs on the metal tray. She let out a small cry as she noticed this.

“I’ll just grab my tea…” The goth sighed, as she grabbed the hot water and poured it into a mug. Enid was already at the table with Yoko and Divina, who was laying in the girl’s lap. The vampire ran her fingers through the siren's hair.  She made her way over to them, tea in hand.

“Good morning, Addams’.” Yoko waved two fingers of her free hand, noticing her lack of food, “Not hungry this morning?”

Rolling her eye’s, Wednesday grumbled, “It would seem someone has taken all of the corn muffins.”

The blonde faced the small girl next to her after finishing her last sentence with Divina. Said siren popping a flashing rave pacifier in her mouth. Wednesday suddenly shook her head as a violently embarrassing thought passed. Watching the lights on it, she zoned out. She’s seen other students with them around school before, why does it suddenly feel different?

Enid tsked as she cut the waffle on her plate, holding up a piece for the goth girl to eat. Wednesday raised an eyebrow as her attention was drawn back to the present.

“I am not going to eat tha-” She was cut off by Enid shoving the bite into her mouth. Wednesday was going to spit it out but her mouth refused to listen to her brain. Enid smirked and held up another bite. “I can fe-” Once again, the goth was silenced by a full mouth.

Divina snickered behind her pacifier, Yoko smirked as she got the same idea to feed her. Taking the dummy out, she bit into a piece of offered sausage.

“I am not letting you starve, Wednesday. Especially since I know you are not feeling well.” The werewolf stated, cutting another bite. “Why do I even have the urge to feed her? She might actually murder me in my sleep later for this…” She didn’t really dwell on that too long, as the smaller teen leaned forward to grab the food in her mouth.

Wednesday paused when she realized what she just did. Their eyes locked and they both quickly pulled away. Wednesday cleared her throat as Enid took back her fork.

“Uh, hmm, uh, thank you…” Wednesday struggled to get out. “The waffle was… filling.” She had to admit eating something different in the morning was not as bad as she thought.

Enid blushed, shoving her own food in her mouth with the same fork. Yoko and Divina watched the exchange with a knowing look.

Wednesday took a gulp of her tea, holding her cup with two hands. The waffle was definitely too sweet for her liking. Why did she even continue eating it?

“Maybe because she was feeding you.” A voice offered, “It was nice, wasn’t it?”

Wednesday stilled, the cup only inches from her face, spilled its contents down the front of her shirt. Quickly Yoko offered napkins as the raven haired girl sat in shock.

“C’mon Willa, we don’t have time for this. Class starts in five minutes,” Enid lightly chastised, cleaning the front of her roomie’s blazer. “Wed’s?” She waved a hand in front of her face, the small girl’s eyes glazed over.

“Mm’ sorry…” Wednesday mumbled, barely audible. She blinked, eyes focused again, she looked down at herself,  “It was a moment of poor hand eye coordination, it won’t happen again.”

Somehow Enid doubted that, it was a feeling that kinda itched at the back of her mind. This was something that felt like it was waiting for a chance to fulfill a longing that she was unsure of.

“Let’s get to class.” Wednesday stated as she stood up from the bench, mug in hand. Enid followed along with the two other girls who were watching. Stepping over the benches, they made their way to the first period class after dropping off their dishes.

————-

Wednesday couldn’t focus. The teacher was droning on about something that held no interest to the raven haired girl at the moment. She looked down at her notebook, drawing little doodles on the page. Enid sat beside her, texting someone under their shared table.

Whoever she was messaging also seemed to not be very busy at the moment, because she has yet to put her device down.

“Ms. Sinclair, would you care to answer the question?” Mr. Caycan suddenly asked, standing in front of the girls. He frowned when he noticed Wednesday’s book.

A small surprised yelp came from the werewolf, “What was the question?’

Sighing, he held out his hand for the phone. “What happens to people on their seventeenth birthday?” She handed him the phone, this not being the first time, “Since most of you are coming of age, if you already haven’t, this is very important information.”

Enid raised an eyebrow, “Isn’t this common knowledge?” She assumed this was something everyone got taught since they were young, “They get their classifications.”

He nodded, pointing to Bianca with her phone still in hand, “And what are those classifications?”

“Alpha, Beta, Omega, Caregiver, Little, and neutral.” The queen bee recited knowingly, “They come instinctually, usually triggered by the perfect pairing or conditions. I, for one, am an Alpha.” She offered with a smug look.

The teacher hummed, “Correct, Bianca.” He returned to the front of the room, “With a raise of hands, how many of you are seventeen or older?”

A few hands went up in the room, including Enid’s. Wednesday was still zoning out, and didn’t even process the question. Not like she was interested anyway, none of this even registered in her brain.

“And do you know what your roles are in our society?” He questions, many grumbles of yes and no’s answer him, “Well depending on what you are, it will vary. Alpha and Omega classifications are a rather large population. This is common. Beta’s are very similar to neutrals, not needing a life partner to feel complete, living pretty much the same before the classification. Now, when a Caregiver is classified, they are pretty much the same until their natural instincts kick in when paired with a compatible Little.”

Enid was taking notes for once, having already been classified as a Caregiver. She really didn't notice Wednesday’s head drop ever so slightly next to her.

“Now, when classified, it is important to report to the government what you are. Luckily for you students, being an Outcast of Nevermore, means we have almost direct ties. When you turn seventeen, you go to the nurse to get your blood test done as a formality and it is documented. Simple as that,” he cleared his throat, “Now, not to alarm anyone who is classified as a Little, but you will have gaps in your memory,” He glanced at the goth girl who had her head down, “When you first drop, it will be within the first forty eight hours of your birthday. It is part of the reason why it is required to be reported. It could be very dangerous for Littles to drop in the middle of an activity.”

A student raised their hand, “What is a drop?”

“Good question, a drop is when the Little’s headspace becomes infantile. Well,” he corrects, “Not necessarily infantile, for ages can vary. The most commonly recorded age ranges are between one and seven. We call that a ‘headspace’. Alpha’s and Omega’s go through something similar, although it is all hormonal and doesn’t regress their mental state.”

“That brings us to the use of,” he looked around the room, “a Caregiver. To protect and love your Little unconditionally. The compatibility is also found in a similar way to Alpha and Omega’s. The hormones that are given off while one is in the first forty eight hours is important but not critical to a match. Many do tend to not stray very far from their close friends or someone they know.” He sighed, “Now, I know you horny teens are always looking for a quick hook up. Unfortunately for Little’s and Caregiver’s their sex drive drops drastically.”

Enid shrugged at that, she knew that was a thing since she was a child. She was quickly losing her attention on the teacher, but wanted to keep listening to see if there was anything of interest. Her thoughts wandered to Ajax, who she had a brief thing with last semester. They both have been classified over the break, shortly after the Crackstone incident. She finally noticed her desk neighbor had her eyes closed, lightly snoring.

“Hey.” The blonde poked Wednesday's side with a colorful fingernail, “Willa wake up.” A snort was the response Enid got. The teacher turned his head to their table again.

“Ms. Addam’s, am I boring you?” Mr. Caycan asked with raised eyebrows.

The goth girl’s head slammed into the table in front of her. Her head slipping off her hand. For all intents and purposes, she was dead to the world.

“OHMYGOD WEDNESDAY!” Enid gasped as the bang filled the room.

There was a round of laughter in the room, which was quickly silenced by the teacher. “Well, that is definitely not a positive response.” He turned to the werewolf, “Ms. Sinclair, take Ms. Addams’ to the infirmary. You are both dismissed for the day.”

Bianca stood up with her hand raised, “Can I help Enid with her?” The teacher made a shooing motion, and she left the room with the two girls.

Once in the hallway, Bianca dropped Wednesday's legs, making Enid stumble with the dead weight of her upper body.

“What the hell, Barclay?!” Enid stubbled, trying to avoid cracking open Wednesday's head. “If you’re gonna help, do it right!!”

“What’s wrong with her? Yoko texted me a long paragraph this morning after breakfast.” Bianca questioned.

Enid bit her lip, as she looked down at her snoring roommate. This is the heaviest she’s ever seen her sleep.

“I have no idea, she woke up feeling off this morning. Like she couldn’t focus, hardly able to stand. She thinks it's the allergy medicine she was taking.” Enid explained as she picked her up, propping her on her hip. Being a Caregiver and a werewolf had its perks.

“Well,” Bianca started, “It seems she may have an issue with the meds if she’s out like this.”

They both started walking towards the nurses office. Bianca slightly behind watching the smaller girl start to drool on Enid’s shoulder. “Yup, dead to the world.”

Wednesday's pale face scrunched up for a second before a sneeze was let out. It made Enid and Bianca stop in their tracks.

“That…” Enid smiled, “Was the cutest sound ever, like omg.” She giggled, resuming her walk. The siren stood there for a second before rushing to catch up.

“I’m inclined to agree with you…” the siren smirked, “It is rather adorable. I wonder what she classifies as… ” Bianca mumbled the last part, Enid didn’t say anything because she was still thinking about the sneeze.

Opening the door to the nurses office, Enid laid the smaller girl on the white bed. Glaring at the siren, she rotated her shoulders. Bianca has used them as an excuse to cut class, and the wolf girl was slightly peeved that she didn’t help much. Shaking out her limbs, she glanced behind herself, the nurse was already making her way over to them.

“Well, who do we have today?” The nurse questioned, making her way to Wednesday.

“And that is my cue.” Bianca waved, “Keep me posted on the… situation…” She walked out the door they came in, not looking back.

The nurse rolled her eyes in sync with Enid as she recognized the unconscious body. Quickly the red headed nurse took the goth girl’s temperature and blood pressure. Sighing, the other teen in the room faced the adult.

“So, what happened?” the lady asked as she pulled out the chart labeled ‘Addams’.

“Honestly, I have no clue. We were in class then SMACK! Her head hit the desk.” She chewed her lip, she will get murdered for this later, but the nurse needed to know, “And this morning she fell face first into the floor in our dorm…”

Opening the file, she glanced over the information. Checking her calendar on her desk, she let out a quiet “ah ha.” Smiling, the woman walked over to Wednesday and pricked her with a needle.

“What did you do that for?” Enid questioned, “Is she like diabetic or something? Oh my god, is this because I gave her a waffle this morning?!” Now the blonde was panicking, no wonder Wednesday only ate corn muffi- she was pulled from her spiraling when a beep from the small device was heard.

“No, Ms. Sinclair, she is perfectly healthy.” The nurse wrote something down on a form, and put it in an envelope. “I assume she took medicine this morning for her dye allergy, no?”

“Uh huh, she said something about her old medicine making her feel weird. She was stumbling around our room this morning.” The blonde recounted, “She even slept in my bed, which she calls ‘rainbow unicorn puke’ on an almost daily basis.”

Sighing, the nurse wrote ‘Addams’ on the front of the yellow envelope. “So, that’s where the bottle of pills went,” She handed Enid the item containing the paperwork, “She is just fine, Ms. Sinclair. But she needs to be aware that it is a night time allergy medication. It isn't meant to be taken in the morning unless you want to be comatose.” She gestured to the snoring girl in the bed.

Fiddling with the paper in her hands, Enid raised an eyebrow, “Ah, I’m glad she’s okay, just made a silly mistake. So what should I do with this?”

“Give it to Principal Weems for me please. She will know what to do with it.”

“Now?” Enid asked, not wanting to leave her friend alone here.

“Preferably,” The nurse stated, “And when you are done with that, head back to class. I will keep an eye on her till she wakes up.” She turned to walk towards the goth, “And do not open that, it is a legal document.”

“Then why are you trusting me with it?” Enid replied back with a huff, upset she’s being sent away.

“Because, I’m sure you will know what is in it by the end of the day, if not by the time Ms. Addams awakens. Now on with you, Ms. Sinclair. You can come back in your free period.”

“Um I don’t know if I ca-” Enid began but was quickly shooed out of the room into the hallway. A spike of unknown panic formed in her throat, her baby needed her right now. The feeling itself was enough to make her pause facing the door.

“I will see you soon, Ms. Sinclair.” The door shut in front of her. A stray tear left her eye, as she made her way to Principal Weems.

———

“What am I going to do with her?” Weems sighed as she was reading her emails. She just finished reading one from Morticia, surprised that she even had a computer, given the Addams family aversion to modern tech.

There was a sharp but urgent knocking at her office door. Closing her laptop, she made her way over to the large double doors.

Opening them, the tall woman looked down and was greeted with the face of Enid. Smiling, she waved an arm to invite her in. Once the werewolf stiffly walked to the chair in front of the large desk, she sat heavily in it.

“What do I owe the pleasure, Ms. Sinclair?” Weems smiled, eyeing the envelope in her hand. “Ah, I see. That is for me, I presume?”

“Y-Yes.” Her voice shook, “The n-nurse gave this to me for you.”

Taking the letter out the shapeshifter read it over. Sighing, she put her head in her free hand, while looking at Enid.

“Where is Ms. Addams right now?” She asked, wondering why her roommate was bringing her medical records.

“Nurses office.” She huffed, rubbing her eyes, “Can I go back to her? I don’t think I can be without her much longer…” she admitted, she was unsure about why she felt this way. There was a small voice that was quickly becoming louder the longer she was away.

Clearing her throat, the principal stood up. “You may, but please move her to your room if possible. Then come get me when she is awake.”

“Alright.” Enid nodded, mirroring the other person. “I’ll let you know!” She smiled shakily as she practically ran out of the room. Larissa shook her head as she sat back down, she read the documentation and sighed. Taking the phone in her hand she dialed the nurse.

“Hello? Yes, please prepare for Ms. Addams to leave the sickbay.”

—---------

As soon as Enid left the room, the nurse drew the curtains to the bed that the goth was laying in. She smiled to herself as she got her needed supplies.

“This is always the most interesting part of the job.” She chuckled to herself, filling out the forms for what she was taking and needed replacing.

“Oh crap…” Came out quietly from behind the curtain. The nurse rolled her eyes as she peaked inside.

“Ms. Addams, good to see you awake.”

Wednesday’s eyes were wide, she quickly pulled the blankets back over her lap. “What am I doing here?” She was quickly growing uncomfortable. The nurse clicked her tongue. She sniffed the air, making a knowing face.

“Ms. Addams, you stole night time antihistamines. From what I was told you passed out in the middle of health sciences.” Wednesday cursed under her breath, she should have read the paper Thing left. Taking the arm band to record blood pressure again, the nurse looked at Wednesday.

The girl in the bed moved towards the wall, away from the nurse. She let out a growl, only succeeding in making the nurse stutter a moment. “I am going back to my room.”

“You may as soon as I retake vitals, Ms. Addams.” She reached her hand out again, the goth growling again in reply.

“Do. Not. Touch. Me.” The nurse ignored her, even when a small knife was held to the woman's throat. The red headed nurse pushed it away with ease. This shocked the young Addams long enough to get the readings she needed.

“Now,” The nurse smiled softly, “Let’s get you cleaned up.”

Wednesday’s head reeled back, smacking the wall behind her. “Ah- I have no need.”

“This is nothing to be ashamed of Ms. Addams. This is normal for some people when they come of age-” She pulled the blanket back revealing a large wet spot, in the white bedding. “Besides- you were unconscious when this happened so you couldn’t help it if you tried.” Gasping at the cold, her wet skirt clinging to her legs.

“I-I-” The goth stuttered. Her shame being brought into the light.

“I am not judging you, darling. No need to be embarrassed.” The small girl paled even more. “You and I are the only ones here who know about this.” Wednesday heard some plastic crinkling, “I do need to get you in the appropriate undergarments though.” she vaguely recognized the white rectangle in front of her.

Shaking her head, the raven haired girl curled in on herself. “No.”  She shook her head back and forth… “No.No.No. NO! NO!” She felt tears form at the corner of her eye.

Sighing, the woman put down the diaper, she was about to say something when her phone rang at her desk. “One moment, dear.”

Taking this opportunity as the perfect distraction, Wednesday clumsily ran out of the bed. The nurse had her back to the girl, that was her mistake. The goth still felt very sluggish, worse than earlier if anything.

She knew it was no longer just the medicine. The fog in her head was only making her forget herself. She could feel her consciousness slipping, this is definitely not the outcome she was expecting. Her body fell to the floor on multiple occasions as she tried to storm the hallways. One thought ran through her head clear as day, “Need to find Mama.”

—----------------------

Rushing back to the infirmary took longer than Enid had hoped. Classes had let out for a fifteen minute break. She was stopped multiple times being asked about Wednesday. She ignored many questions as she rushed past them.

Finally making it to the room, she saw the nurse playing on her phone at her desk.

“Hm? Oh your back quicker than expected.” She looked up, noticing the werewolf out of breath. “Do you want to take her back to your room? Principal Weems said she’s free to leave.” She stood up and walked over to the curtain moving it back.

“Well shit.” Enid cursed before turning around to walk out the office.

“At least that girl can take care of the little problem.” The nurse laughed at her own joke, putting away the supplies she forgot to put on the girl. “They will need these later though…” She shook her head as she closed the cabinet.

—----------------------

“Hey, watch it-” Bianca called out as she was roughly pushed into a wall. She noticed the black hair of the student and was surprised, “Wednesday, I’m shocked you’re awake so soon.” The siren watched as the braided hair girl stumbled into the wall, sliding to the ground.

“Need…” Wednesday panted out, falling to her hands and knees. Bianca crouched down next to her, making the teen sit on her butt. The goth girl’s eyes were wide, searching for something- someone

“What do you need?” Bianca asked worried, she could smell urine coming off the girl in front of her, “Addams, did you wet yourself?”   She made a face, unsure on how to handle this situation. Rolling her eyes she stood up, holding her hand out. “Let’s get you back to the nur-”

“No!” Wednesday shouted suddenly as she tried to stand back up, “Need to find-” She can’t gather her thoughts. They

“What? What do you need to find?” The other girl asked, “I’m sure it can wait till after we get you b-”

“Mama.” Wednesday huffed as she stomped her booted foot on the tile floor. She fell into the taller girl, “Need Mama.”

Bianca nodded silently, “I see what is happening now…” Straightening her frenemy out, she held onto Wednesday's shoulder. “How about we take you to Weems?”

Wednesday didn’t acknowledge anything else after that, allowing herself to be guided throughout the school grounds. Luckily nobody was out since class started back up.

Knocking on the large wooden door, Bianca propped Wednesday up. She watched as the girl’s eyes became more vacant, no longer scanning the area around them.

A moment later the door opened to Weems, who looked down at the two of them. “I see Ms. Addams has found herself in something far bigger than she can handle. Please bring her inside.” She opened the door fully, allowing them to walk inside.

Sitting the goth down she stepped back, pulling out her phone to message Yoko a “I was right. Pay up.”  Putting her phone back in her pocket, Bianca waved goodbye.

The older woman gave a quick thank you. The siren left, shutting the door behind her.

“Now, Ms. Addams.” Weems walked over to the girl as she sighed, “I did tell Enid and the nurse to take you back to your dorm room. After the proper accommodations were made.”

Wednesday tilted her head to the side, not able to comprehend the words coming out of the woman's mouth.

Larissa shook her head as she went to the cabinet on the wall next to the desk. “Can you walk?” She got the girl flopping backwards onto the lounge as the response. “I take that as a no.”

Reaching her arms out, the headmistress took two items from the shelf and made her way back over to Wednesday.

The goth tried to reach a hand behind her to sit up, but felt too weak to do so. “Mm.”

“Here, these are for you.” She held up a black silk blanket and a pacifier.  “Your mother sent them last week.” Larissa draped the blanket over the back of the seat.

Looking up from her spot on the couch, she meekly raised a hand out to touch the shiny blanket. “Mine?” She slurred out, eyes half lidded.

Larissa clicked her tongue, as she held up the outfit. “Now, I know you’re going to hate this part, but I can’t keep you in that uniform.”  Wednesday's eyes widened as she tried to scoot away. “You are going to hurt yourself, Ms. Addams, just let me help you.”

“N-No!” Wednesday misplaced her hand, falling backwards again. “C’mon, move.” Face screwing up she shut her eyes, and shouted “No! No, No!”

“Need these?” The nurse makes an appearance, through the doorway. Larissa’s head snapped over to the door, Wednesday slightly slower. “What? I did knock.”

Running a hand down her face, Weems took the offered item. “Thank you. You may go, and if you see Ms. Sinclair, let her know to be in Ophelia Hall, I will meet her there.”

“Will do, and good luck.” The nurse supplied, leaving the room as quickly as she came.

In her hands, she held a gym uniform and a diaper. Wednesday had flopped back down, half off the lounge, the other half on the floor. She passed out again, lightly snoring.

“This makes it easier I guess…” The shapeshifter rolled up her sleeves getting to work.

—-----------------

“Wednesday?!” Enid called out to the empty bedroom. She got no response. Walking over to the bathroom, she noticed the light on. “Wednesday?” Still no answer, “I’m going to open the door, okay?” There was some clunking coming from the room that echoed loudly.

Opening the door slowly, she peaked her head inside and saw Thing in a washcloth. He started wildly tapping on the side of the sink.

“Oh my gosh, I’m so so so sorry!” Enid squeaked, quickly shutting the door. “Wait…” She opened the door again, “That’s my hand lotion!”

They went back and forth for a bit before the door to the room opened with a loud thud. Enid and Thing came out of the bathroom together, both questioning what was going on.

“Come along now, Wednesday.” Principal Weems stated as she dragged a half asleep goth girl behind her.

“Ehhhh…” Wednesday groaned out, as her feet shuffled, “Nap time.” She mumbled around the black soother.

“Wednesday, there you are! I’ve literally been having a heart attack!” Enid rushed forward to take her roommate into her arms.

“Deja vu…” Wednesday’s mind supplied briefly before it went blank again.  She snuggled into Enid’s neck, whispering a quiet “Mama.”

“Come talk to me later, Ms. Sinclair. There are some things I think we need to discuss.” Weems shared a glance with the werewolf, “Have a good nap Wednesday…” She will have to contact the Addams, letting them know the situation. She dreaded the call to the Sinclair pack. Shutting the door, her heel clicks fading away.

“Let’s lay down, huh baby?” Enid picked her up easily, Wednesday clinging to her like a koala.

“Mm.” Wednesday dropped into the bed, feeling light. Her head spinning at the sudden movement. Enid cradling her head when the small girl let out a whine.

“Shh, it’s alright. Go to sleep, I’ll take care of everything.” Enid rubbed her back soothingly.

The grip on Enid’s shirt slowly became nothing as she fell asleep to the comfort her caretaker provided.

“What am I going to do?” Enid thought briefly as she closed her own eyes.

—-----------

When she woke up again, her bed was empty. Panicking briefly, until she noticed Wednesday on the darker side of the room sitting on her bottom, back against the bed.

Thing was currently scurrying around her, trying to keep away all the weapons in her area. Efficiently baby proofing the room, even for an Addams baby these weapons were dangerous.

“Hey, what’s going on?” Enid wiped her eyes, “Wednesday, come back to bed, I’m sure you’re still sleepy.”

“Nu-uh.” She pointed to the clock, she couldn't read it but it was getting dark outside. “No seep. Food now.” She demanded, not having eaten but two bites this morning at breakfast.

“Oh yeah, you must be starving!” Enid felt a little guilty about skipping lunch, but she needed to get Wednesday to sleep.

She got up to get her shoes on when her phone rang. On the screen read PUGSLEY ADDAMS , deciding to answer it her ear was assured with the noise of the house. Train noises and crashes in the background quieted significantly.

Hello?” Pugsley stated into the phone.

“Hi.” Enid said back, as she watched as Wednesday climbed onto her black duvet. “What’s up, Piglet?”

“How’s my sister doing? Is she showing any signs?” Pugsley questioned, making Enid raise an eyebrow.

“Signs? Like for her allergy or something?” Enid was still confused about the feelings she had about this whole situation.

“You know, for her class?”

“She did pass out in class earlier-” Enid was cut off by the girl falling off the bed to the floor, with a stuffed animal in hand. “Oh my gosh are you okay, Willa?”

“Did she do something just now?”

“She fell off the bed with a stuffed dog in her hand.” Enid told him as she watched the dark haired girl put the ear in her mouth. “We don’t put things in our mouths like that!”

Eyes roaming around the room for a moment she took the black dummy from the floor. Wiping it on her shirt Enid popped it into Wednesday’s mouth.

“Oh my god- she's a little!” Pugsley cheered, excited. “Lurch owes me a fifty!”

Looking over to the raven haired girl, she couldn’t help but smile. Currently, the smaller girl was trying (and failing) to remove the head from the stuffed animal she received as a gift from Bianca the semester prior while in the hospital. It’s been a long few months without seeing Wednesday, and clearly her calendar failed to remind her of the recent birthday. She has a short attention span and memory as it is, so she relied heavily on it.

“I know that… I already have mine, luckily I’m a Caregiver. Hopefully we're compatible enough so she doesn't fight me on everything . It would be a nightmare to try to get her to listen otherwise.”  Enid mumbled the last part, she gasped, “She never even reminded me about her birthday!”

A small giggle came from the speaker, “You know my sister. Since when has she ever talked to anyone remotely on the topic of birthdays?”

Turning around, now that her back was facing the Little, she smiled. “Alright, that is true. I figured you may have been the best option to be the informant. I know if she were in the right mind at the moment, she would have my head on her desk right now.”

“I’ll let mother and father know what's going on. Although I have a feeling that Mother may have already notified her.” Pugsley suggested, “I’m glad that you are with her though, she only brings you up during family meals.” Enid feels her face flush at the statement, glad she's facing away from her roommate, “Before you, she would try to murder anyone that would try to talk to her at the table.”

“That sounds like my roomie!” Enid laughed, “Don't worry too much though, I'll check in with Principle Weems, she did drop her off earlier. Though, I’m totes super excited to have her too. She’s like a sour patch kid. Sour then sweet!”

There was a crash on the other end, followed by a shout, “I need to go, good luck with my sister. I’ll text you later-   hey put him down right n-” The line went dead. Looking down at her screen, it read “call complete”.

Running a hand down her face, she turned around to look at the girl who gave up on trying to decapitate the bear. Thing, having heard the conversation, scurried up to the blonde's shoulder. He started signing about going into town to get stuff at the Little store.

“Sounds good, I’ll give you the card to get anything you think she would like.” Enid nodded, “I’m going to head to the cafeteria, it's dinner time for me and this little one.”

Thing gave a thumbs up, bringing himself close to the dark haired girl to grab her size from her shirt and gym shorts she fell asleep in. Wednesday cocked her head towards the hand and giggled. Poking the limb back when he booped her nose, she looked amused.

Having all that he needs for measurements, Enid gives him a silver card. "Thank goodness for her parents. It's like they are mind readers." During the last parents day Morticia and Gomez gave her a platinum card to use for emergencies. "I guess this constitutes an emergency." She smiled, knowing full well this was going to be fun.

Wednesday reached for the shiny card in Thing's fingers, but was too slow and flopped to the wooden floor with a thud.

—---

“Damn it!” Yoko shouted as she put down twenty dollars on the table. “I can’t believe you’re the first person to know in the group!”

Bianca smirked, swiping the bill from the table, “What can I say? Right place and time after all.” She counted the money she got from everyone else that bet against her.

The vampire grumbled as she sipped from her O- blood bag, “It could have been me this morning, Enid and Wednesday were totally bonded by the time they sat down! I had a feeling, being a caregiver myself, ugh!”

“Well feelings don’t count,” Bianca snickered, “Besides she had yet to drop yet, right? So it didn’t count regardless.

Chapter 2: Hungry

Chapter Text

“You coming with me, Wednesday?” Enid asked as she put her phone in her pocket.

The smaller girl dropped the stuffed animal on the floor and crawled her way towards the werewolf two feet away. “Mmm-Hmm!” Wednesday affirmed around her soother, sitting up on her padded butt.

“Well let’s get you changed first, I’m sure wearing gym clothes to dinner won’t be ‘presentable’ to you.” Enid laughed as the smaller girl cocked her head to the right, “I’m gonna find you something to wear in your wardrobe, since Thing is not gonna be back for a while.” Walking over to the dark side of the room, she looked into the closet.

“Something easy to put on would be nice, wouldn’t you agree?” She got no verbal response back, “I’ll take that as a yes.” She rifled through a few outfits before her eyes fell on her nightgown. It was a stretchy, soft fabric, something she has never seen on Wednesday. “This is… new? I’m sure this would be fine.”

Walking over to Wednesday, who was laying back on the wooden floor, she crouched down next to the little. “Mmm?” Her dark eyes met blue. Her head was swimming, she blinked slowly.

“Still tired, huh?” Enid said softly, as she sat her up, making the goth whine. “I’ll make this quick I promise.” And as promised, she did. Soon she was in the black nightgown, standing wobbly, her feet turned inward. “Do you want me to carry you?” Wednesday plopped onto the floor and gave grabby hands in response, “Up you go then.” She bent down and placed her hands under Wednesday’s arms. Hoisting her up, she placed her on her hip. “Ya know, this would have been easier if you stayed standing.”

Wednesday smiled wide, making Enid’s heart melt. “Oh my gosh, you have dimples!” She moved around the room to test her movement, it was rather good for being slightly taller. “Alright, let’s go. You must be starving . I know I am!”

The little goth just laid her head down on Enid’s shoulder, biting on her loose hair. “Wednesday, don’t eat my hair, we're getting food.”

She let it go with a “pa”. She stuck her thumb in her mouth, having dropped the pacifier in the room.  “Feed me faster then, Enid.” She mumbled “Mama.” Around her thumb,making a face at the words betraying her thoughts.

As they walked through the hallway, Wednesday looked around with a new found wonder. Enid smiled, glad Wednesday was enjoying herself for once.

“Hey, what are you letting my body do?” Wednesday’s mind snapped at herself, “These age-related hormones are not something fundamentally helpful.” She felt like a passenger in a car, unable to do anything but witness, feeling all the bumps and turns. Except her body was acting out on its impulses. Showing emotions, and doing so many infantile things. She didn’t know how to feel about this, she didn’t have enough time to process the change. It hit so suddenly, she thought she had more time. “At least, I feel good ? Definitely less stressed based on the lack of tension in my shoulders.” Her mind was finally forming coherent thoughts, the allergy medicine having worn off. “I am not taking that kind again. I’ll kill Thing when I see him next.”

“Well, let’s introduce you to the gang.” Enid stated as she walked through the open double doors. The quad was lively, many of the tables were shouting and laughing. She spotted her group at a center table, and the pair made their way over. They started sitting together after the events of last semester, essentially destroying the clique dynamics of the school.

“Will you stop fanning yourself with that mon-” Divina was cut off with a grunt. The goth had leaned forward, deciding that the best way to announce her presence was to pull on the siren's hair. Whining, she ducked down, “Hey, stop that!”

Yoko quickly popped up beside her, gripping Wednesday’s wrist lightly, “Let her go, we don’t pull hair. Okay?” The vampire helped the girl untangle her little’s hair from Wednesday’s fingers. Wednesday on Enid’s hip stuck her tongue out.

The blonde didn’t say a word, too preoccupied with the conversation over at the Furs table. “Yoko,” She said calmly, making her friends’ table turn to face her. “Take her for a moment, will ya?”

“Uh, sure?” Wednesday was thrust into Yoko’s arms. The raven fussed, wanting to get put down. Yoko held firm, even when the small menace bit her. “You are a handful. Like oh my fucking god.”

“Good, I’ll be even worse if you keep holding me.” Wednesday voiced in her head, pitching a fit.

“Enid-” She was gone, at the table about two yards away. “What does an Addams eat?”

“The blood of their enemies.” Ajax butted in, looking at Bianca. “Conveniently, we have one here.”

Bianca’s eyes widened, “Hey! I helped save her ass during the whole fight shit.” She put the money in her breast pocket. “She eats normal food, you dumbasses.”

Wednesday was sitting on the ground firmly wrapped around Yoko’s legs, teeth sunk in. The little’s belly growled, she let go of the limbs and cried.

“Give me Divina’s bottle.” Yoko held out her free hand, Ajax dug into the diaper bag and pulled out a bottle of formula. “Hopefully this shuts her up, and makes her stop biting me.”

“That’s mine!” Divina reached a hand out. Ajax tossed it across the table to the vampire, making the siren cross her arms and pout.

“You can share, darling.” Yoko chastised as she uncapped the nipple, “Take this, Wednesday.”

It took a moment to get the hang of suckling but soon she was rewarded with a steady stream of formula. She watched the bottle that was being held by the vampire with crossed eyes. She grabbed into the item herself, freeing Yko’s hand again.

“Stop that!” They heard Enid shout from the table she walked over too. All heads snapped to the werewolf who had her claws extended. “You don’t know what you’re saying!”

The boy at the table stood up, extending his own claws, “What? I’m not wrong. That psycho of a roommate should have been killed when that hyde was still running around this town!” He gestured to the yard, that still was scorched from the fight that happened, “This place is a dump. We can’t do the activities we need to do any longer, since everything is still disgusting! ” The rest of the table nodded and agreed with him.

Enid growled, “That has nothing to do with her!” She took a step forward, “Shut your fucking face, Edwin!” He took one to match her, his height difference noticeable. She had to crain her head up to meet his gaze.

“Try me, Sinclair. You wouldn’t-” Enid’s head collided with the bottom of his jaw, making him bite his tongue harshly. “Ah - you little shi-” Pushing him backwards toward the grass, she landed on top of him. Scrambling to sit up, Enid balled up her fist and got a punch in before he threw her off of his body.

Scooping up Wednesday, Yoko walked into the building, her little following close behind. The smaller girl was still holding the bottle to her mouth. “I’m gonna take you to Weems for a bit, alright? Your Mama is a bit busy at the moment.”

“Mama?” Wednesday asked around the nipple, eyebrows furrowed. “Of course Enid’s busy, she was screaming at a werewolf kid just now. Now take this stupid bottle from me, it’s hindering my biting ability.” She growled like an animal, making Yoko falter for a moment. “No go!”

“Yes, go!” Divina agreed with Yoko, “Mommy says we go, so we go!” She stomped her foot to emphasize her words.

Bianca sprinted after them, breathing heavily. “Yoko come get her out of this! They are ganging up on her! Ajax is there with Kent trying to hold them off of her right now!”

Biting her lip Yoko put Wednesday down, “Divina, can you be a big girl for me?” She got an enthusiastic nod from the girl, “Perfect, take Wednesday to Weems. Tell her to send staff and nurses, okay?”

“Okay!” Divina saluted, Yoko kissed the top of her forehead before sprinting off. Turning around, she faced the Addams girl, “C’mon, I’ll race you!” She waited for Wednesday to stand up. When the goth just stared at her she sighed, taking the bottle from her mouth. “Alright then, I’ll just have to drag you.” She took a step forward.

“Get up before she touches me!” Wednesday told her body, her motor functions have been betraying her ever since this morning. She reached a hand up towards the stone wall of the hall, trying to pull herself up into a standing position. Her legs felt strong but when she looked down, she got vertigo. She felt too high up, she closed her eyes tightly.

“Can’t.” She sat back down on the ground. “This is annoying.”

Divina raised an eyebrow. “Why can’t you stand? It’s not like being small is a problem for your legs.”

“Too high up.” Wednesday crossed her arms, “No stand. Carry.”

“I can’t pick you up!” Divina shouted, making Wednesday flinch, “Oh! I’ll go get Principal Weems!”

“Divina is a loud little, ugh I always forget that.”  Wednesday rolled her eyes as she watched Divina’s retreating form. “N-Now.” She tested her tongue in her mouth, it felt loose just like the rest of her muscles. “Sap dis.” Her voice came out lisped, she rolled her eyes.

She leaned forward, on her hands and knees, testing the strength in her arms. When they didn’t collapse automatically, she moved like she did in the room. Back towards the quad, where she knew everyone was fighting. “I’m getting in on the action, one way or another. Screw this Little crap.”

Making her way towards the doorway again, Wednesday looked at the crowd that had formed around the pack of Furs and their friend group.

—--------

“She fucking bit me!” Edwin screamed as Enid grabbed his arm with her teeth, “You’re as good as dead!” He grabbed her shoulders and piledrived her into the burnt section of grass.

Enid growled again, still not letting go of his arm. When she looked up from the ground, she noticed the rest of the boys from the table were rolling up their sleeves or taking their blazers off. Her eyes widened, letting go of his arm. “Hit me, fuckers!” She grinned with blood on her fangs. In all reality, she was terrified, she knew she had no chance on her own, she hoped to call his bluff.

“Back off you, mangy mutts!” Yoko rushed the one on top of Enid, knocking him to the ground. “Come on, Enid. Wednesday is waiting for you in Weems’s office.”

“Not so fast, Fang. ” One spat, “You can’t just bum-rush our leader and get out of this easily.”

Another of the boys started moving forward, “We can’t let you leave without getting even.”

Binaca was standing on the side, watching uneasily as her friends were facing down a literal pack of wolves. She gripped her necklace debating on taking it off or let this play out for a bit longer. She understands the importance of Alpha pride, and won’t interfere in respect. But she can’t keep watching her friends get beat. She was torn, and unfortunately society standards get in the way.

“Look what I found!” Edwin grinned as he sprinted towards Wednesday who pushed her way through the crowd. He was quick to recover from being rushed by the vampire.

Wednesday was sitting on the ground when she was violently pulled to her feet by the wolf-boy pulling her by her right braid. “Ah-”

“See this, bitch?” He pointed to her, “She’s the reason we don’t have a pristine school. Our territory is fucked. She already kicked us out from the hives area because ‘ she was there first’. Like I give a shi-” He was punched in the face by Bianca, there was a resounding crack . He dropped Wednesday harshly to the ground, hitting her head on a small rock. She let out a cry of shock. Her lower half suddenly felt wet, making her eyes widen. He stumbled back a few paces away.

Enid was being held back by Yoko. The vampire didn’t want this to turn into a bloodbath. She was not here to see anyone get hurt, let alone someone who is so emotionally unstable at the moment. “We need to go, Enid. I’ll grab Wednesday.”

“I. Will. Kill him!” The blonde ripped her way out of the grip Yoko had on her sweater. She launched herself onto Edwin again, pushing Bianca out of the way. She gripped onto his shirt, headbutting him in his already broken nose. “I’ll kill you! You dare to even think about touching her again I’ll-” She was picked up by someone much taller than her from around the waist. She stopped in shock.

“We will not be doing anything of the sorts, young lady!” Weems said as she flung her off the beaten boy. Enid skidding to a halt.  “My office now, the lot of you!” Her face was red with anger, “Of all the people…” She shook her head, noticing Wednesday taking out her braids.

She walked over towards the little raven, with her caregiver still standing close behind. “Are you alright, Ms. Addams?” Wednesday just eyed her, unblinking. She did notice a small trickle of red, her eyebrows creased. “Alright then, keep your secrets.”

The girl smirked. She just found out Principal Weems was a nerd , just like the rest of them. (Herself included, she unfortunately watched all the movies with Enid and enjoyed them.)

“Want me to carry you?” Enid asked as she peaked out from behind the tall woman, “Or do you want to walk?”

“Like I can walk more than before…” Wednesday thought as she rubbed the side of her head where the boy pulled her hair, unaware of the small cut. “Y-Yes.”

Enid went to bend down but hissed, her side pulsed. The shapeshifter rolled her eyes, “Ms. Sinclair, go to the infirmary. I’ll bring Wednesday along.”

“Mama only.” Wednesday tried to scoot away but flopped backwards into the grass. “NO touch.” The woman ignored her, picking her up anyway. The teen went limp in her arms, making the woman falter for a brief moment.

“Don’t deadweight me, Addams.” Weems chasied, “Sit up proper.” Her arm squished under Wednesday’s bottom as she straightened. She grimaced, “It would seem you need a change as well.”

“Oh my gosh, you should have said something, Wednesday.” Enid automatically butted in. The girl raised an eyebrow, “Oh. Right… I wasn’t there was I?”

“You were.” She wanted to say, but blushed at the thought, “Like I could say anything about this in the first place.” She wished her mouth coopered with her, her brain was grasping at straws, trying to see the world clearly.

Yoko came walking up with Divina on her hip, “I’ll make sure everyone involved gets to your office.”

“Thank you, Ms.Tanaka. At least someone here is responsible.” She turned to the crowd, “Everyone else, back to your rooms. Lights out at nine.”

Divina laughed at her caregiver, calling her a teacher's pet. Yoko rolled her eyes, “ No, mommy is just old and tired of immaturity.” The siren's face fell, “Not you. Darling. It’s in your nature, not theirs. ” She hissed at the boys who ducked and turned.

The headmistress nodded, “I’ll see you to it,then.” She hiked up the little on her hip a bit more. “Come now. We need to get those wounds patched up and discuss proper punishment.”

“But Ma- No! Enid didn’t do anything, other than not feed me.” Wednesday grumbled, the bottle was not enough. “More food.”

Weems looked down at the girl on her side, “Did you not eat?” She looked over to Enid, “Ms. Sinclair, you are aware since she is now your responsibility, you must feed her.”

Enid gasped, “I know that! That’s why we came down! They are teaching us in class how to care for Littles! That is like the first thing, you should know that, you made the course!” The smaller blonde was offended by the very idea of neglecting her charge.

“We’re going to the infirmary now. I’ll grab some food for her after we get there.” Larissa sighed, “Then I need to talk to you and Wednesday about a few things.”

“Okay?” Enid agreed, confused, “Is it about the fight just now? Because I can explain-”

The woman held up her free hand as they turned down the hall to the nurses office, “I am aware you would normally not do something like this. But I am also aware that your instincts as a werewolf and a caregiver are very volatile right now.”

“What do you mean? I don’t feel any different…”

Larissa sighed as she pushed open the door, “Learning moment then. You have natural instincts that you don’t consciously realize. Meaning, you probably heard something that threatened you or your charge. You being a werewolf, made the response more, shall we say, explosive.”

“Oh.” is all Enid said as she sat on the bed that Wednesday was in hours prior.

Wednesday cried out from the principal's hip again, making all the people in the room turn their heads to her.

“I’ll go and get you something to eat, Ms. Addams.” Larissa glanced over to the nurses desk, “Can you give this young lady a once over?” She sat Wednesday down next to Enid, “Ms. Sinclair got into a tiff with a werewolf student. It would seem she has injured her side.” She gestured to Wednesday, “And I do believe she may have been hit at least once, but I am unsure.”

Enid butted in, “She needs a change too…” The nurse clicked her tongue, grabbing the discarded supplies from earlier that morning.

The goth girl’s eyes widened as she scooted into Enid’s lap. The movement was quickly halted when the blonde hissed in pain. Wednesday fell to the floor trying to get off of her.

“Well now, Ms. Addams. Why don’t you get onto the other bed and I can change your nappy.” The nurse said softly. “I’m sure you're not comfy in that wet thing.”

“No!” Wednesday shouted as she scrambled, leaning her back against the bedframe from the floor. She latched onto Enid’s leg like how she did Yoko’s in the quad, with less biting. “Mama only.” She was cranky that was for sure, but being hungry and wet was making her very uncooperative. “Why can’t they see I don’t want this? I tolerate Enid’s touch, everyone else who touches me will meet their end early-” Her inner monologue was cut short by Weems pulling her off the floor.

“Either the nurse does this,” She smiled, “Or I do, again.”

“She is practically family at this rate… I should trust her more.” Wednesday considered her options, for a moment. “Auntie do.” Her and Larissa’s eyes widened at the same time. “Damn it! Brain translate to the mouth better! She’s gonna get the wrong idea! Her name is Weems, not auntie oh my god-”

“Ahem, I am flattered by your um… delegation.” Weems smiled, a light red showing on her cheeks. “Thank you. Now, let's get this cleaned up so I can get you nourishment.”

“Bo-tal?” Wednesday questioned as she was laid down. She could see the nurse giving Enid a checkup on the other bed. She had to admit (to herself at least, that the bottle was nice while it lasted.) “Stupid Divina, taking it away.”

“What do you want?” Larissa asked as she raised the night gown. Wednesday moved her jaw around, trying to find the best way to get the words out. “Did you want something in particular for dinner?’ She removed the soiled garment swiftly with practiced ease.

The girl shivered when the wet wipe touched her, “B-Baaa toll.”

“Do you mean bottle?” Enid chirped from her seated position, as the nurse cleaned up her wounds.

“Mm-Hm!” Wednesday nodded, sticking her hand in her mouth. “Bo-tal!” She shouted around her fingers.

Larissa clicked her tongue, puffing the powder. Wednesday sneezed, making Enid squeal again.

“Cute.” the woman smirked as she taped up the new diaper, pulling her dress back down. She stood up from the floor, “I can get you one if you want? Although I’m sure you would want normal food?” She noticed the goth's eyes seemed more focused than this morning after her impromptu visit . “I see you can understand more than this morning. Are you having a hard time focusing or talking? I know your walking capabilities have drastically diminished.”

“Hmm. Too high. G- get diz-zee.” Wednesday’s eyes moved onto a spot on the ceiling. “Mmm-hmm.” She could feel the saliva falling down the side of her cheek, but couldn’t be bothered to wipe it. “Fog-gee.”

“Foggy?” Enid asked, around the nurse. Weems was deep in thought. “What do you mean?”

The nurse chuckled as she put away the antiseptic. “You need to stop fighting it, Sweetie.”

“Ah, I see.” The principal walked over to the small girl, “Are you comfortable with this situation?” Wednesday tilted her head toward the towering woman, “I mean, are you rejecting this because you don’t like being cared for?”

“No ba-by.” Wednesday sounded out, arguing, “No weak.” Taking her hand out of her mouth, to push herself up, she flopped against the wall. “Hung-ry.”

“I know you are. But now this needs to be addressed.” Weems crossed her arms, “I don’t think this is good in the long run.” They locked eyes.

“Don’t fight your classification, Wednesday.” The nurse interrupted them, “She is right, even in the short term this would be bad.”

“How so ?” Enid questioned, “Like would it mess with her head?”

Sighing, the nurse walked over to Wednesday, pulling out rubbing alcohol, “It would hurt her physically as well.”

All the eyes widened in the small area, “Oh? How so?” Larissa doesn’t have her own little yet, taking care of a school of teens steals a lot of her free time. She is also considered a universal caregiver, meaning when she was classified at seventeen, she was compatible with any little. She is in no rush to get one for herself. She is taking this as a learning experience of her own.

“You see, we are mind and body.” The nurse began, as she dabbed at the small cut on Wednesday’s head, the girl’s face scrunched up, “ An example could be how your phone has a charger to keep it alive. While you use it, you can turn the screen on and off to save battery but it's always consuming the energy.”

“So if the little wants to be out but the big mind is keeping it away it will lose energy?” Enid thought as she watched Wednesday struggle.

“Sort of. There is always an app running in the background that is consuming the energy and slowing it down even when you’re not using it. Until you try to turn on the phone and find out it's out of juice.”

“When she had her first drop this morning right before coming to my office the battery was running out.” Larissa reasoned, “She took a nap when she got back to her room, and woke up more aware, but not in full control. That was the charger giving more energy to the phone.”

“If I understand correctly, Big Wednesday is the app running in the background, draining the battery and slowing down the system.” Enid concluded. The nurse nodded, putting a bandaid on the side of the raven's head.

“She can physically move about like normal, but she is fighting the little headspace for proper control. That is what’s making her so torn, feeling cloudy minded. The fog would clear when she drops fully until she naturally comes out of it.”

Wednesday’s stomach growled, making her whimper. “If you don’t feed me, I will be very upset.”

“I will be right back.” Weems said as she powerwalked her way to the cafeteria. The food was being put away shortly, so she needed to rush. “I still have to deal with everyone in my office. And still talk to Enid and Wednesday, that should be fun.”

—------------

“Where is she? It’s been like forever !” Divina whined as she spun in the chair behind the large wooden desk.

“It’s only been ten minutes.” Yoko said as she glanced down at her phone. She stood in the doorway with her arm blocking the handles.

"Screw this, man. I'm leaving." Edwin tried to push past her.

Bianca sighed and stood up. She walked up to the boy and yanked him towards the chase lounge. "Sit, boy."

"You bit-" Edwin began but was put in his place by a glare from the siren.

"Weems better hurry up. I don't know how long I can take this." Yoko rubbed a palm down her face. She locked eyes with Bianca, silently thanking her.

—----------

“How do I help her drop fully?” Enid asked the nurse, much to the chagrin of Wednesday. “If I can, that is?”

The nurse sighed when she saw the glare on the raven’s face, “Wednesday, short of drugging you, with nighttime allergy medication, you need to accept this part of you. Think of it as a coming of age.”

“Not my fault, that is the one drug that works on me.” Wednesday was really going to kill Thing when she was in control again.

“As for helping her? Just by being near her helps with the transition. It’s all hormonal based to begin with, and thankfully you are compatible with her little type.” The nurse explained, handing Enid a new bottle of antihistamines. “She can take these twice a day. The others that were taken can be used at night when she has a bad reaction.”

“How bad can it get?” Enid questioned as she pocketed the bottle, “Can it get super bad like no breathing bad?”

“Unfortunately, yes.” Enid gasped looking at Wednesday who was sitting on the white bed. “Fortunately it would be very rare. It’s an allergy to dye. If she consumes something with food dye or fresh fabric dye it could cause irritation.”

“St-ap ta-ing.” Wednesday stated as she crossed her arms, pouting.

Enid was wide eyed, “No way! I need to know about this, Wednesday! It will help with taking care of you!”

The goth rolled her eyes, letting her arms lay on her belly. “Great. In one day all of my hard work became undone.”

“That means, no candy, soda, or food with dye. An example would be skittles, those are chocked full of the ingredient.” The nurse stated as she sat back at her desk.

“Oh, that makes sense. I never saw her eat any candy but black liquorice.” Enid provided. The nurse nodded.

“She can consume and wear natural dyes. So be mindful of what you provide her in her little state. Most littles will gravitate towards brightly colored things, it’s in their nature.”

Enid nodded, typing everything in her phone's note app. Wednesday didn’t know when it was pulled out, but the consistent clicking of the screen caught her side eye.  Her stomach pulled again, making her breath catch. The door opened, making the attention go in that direction.

“Alright- I’m back!” Weems announced to the room, two trays in hand. “I didn’t know what you like so I grabbed some salad and apple juice.” She placed the tray on the empty side of the bed. “And I grabbed food for you too, Ms.Sinclair.” On the tray there was a red steak with another two salads and buttered peas.

“Thank you, Principal Weems.” Enid grabbed the second tray, handing one salad to the headmistress.

Wednesday on the other hand was not as graceful in her attempt to grab her tray. Making the bowl fall to the floor with the bottle of juice. “Ugh…” All her mouth could get out, before she felt her brain cloud over. Her logical mind is unwillingly taking the backseat, unable to do anything.

Weems face palmed, turning her thoughts to the teens in her office.

Enid watched as the goth sucked in a breath, pushing herself off the bed onto the floor. She grabbed a handful of salad and stuffed it into her mouth without hesitation.

Principal Weems was too distracted talking to the nurse about first aid for the students in her office to notice.

“Oh my god, Wednesday don’t do that!” Enid moved the tray off of her lap. Getting ready to grab her wrist. Wednesday hissed at her, grabbing another handful to put in her mouth.

“Just let her, Ms.Sinclair.” Weems told the teen who was fretting over the little, “Anything on the floor in here won’t harm an Addams. They have a resistance to a lot of drugs and illness.”

Wednesday stuck her tongue out with puffy cheeks full of food. “Pft. Mines!”

Enid shook her head, taking her own tray up again. She decided that watching her little eat off the floor probably isn’t the worst thing that she’s witnessed Wednesday so. She had half a mind to take a photo to send to Pugsley. Well that half won as she pulled her phone out.

“When you girls are done, we’re going to my office.” Weems called over to them, taking a seat with her salad, her lunch having been interrupted.

Chapter 3: Nap Time

Chapter Text

“All done?” Enid looked down at the messy little. It looks like she got more food on herself than in her. Wednesday smiled around the bottle she held.

“Let’s go, shall we?” Larissa bent down, picking up the goth. Enid followed behind, after thanking the nurse.

By the time the small group made it to her office, Yoko was in the hallway with Divina. Noticing them, Yoko pushed off the wall she was leaning on.

“Thank the moon and the stars! That boy will be the end of my immortal life!”

Divina nodded in agreement, “Yeah! He keeps trying to leave!” At that moment the door to the office flew open. The boy in question, Edwin, red in the face.

“I’m leaving! Screw this-” He was cut short by the bottle Wednesday threw at his head, “You bi-”

“Ahem.” The headmistress cleared her throat, “Back inside Mr.Collins.” Turning to the girls, Larissa sighed, “Come now, in you all go.”

Once everyone was in the now cramped room, Weems sat Wednesday between Yoko and Bianca on the chaise lounge. Divina sat on top of the vampire's lap, fidgeting with her blazer. Wednesday whined, reaching towards Enid, who sat in an armchair next to Edwin.

“Now,” Weems started, “Care to explain what exactly transpired?” They both shouted in unison, trying to drown one another out, “Ah-Ah, one at a time. Mr. Collins?” She gestured to the boy as Enid huffed, crossing her arms.

“It’s her fault!” He pointed Wednesday, who had grabbed onto Yoko’s hair. “She needs to pay for ruining the school!”

Enid sat up, “Ruined it?! She saved it!” She growled, “What were you doing when the school was under attack, huh?” The woman gave her a pointed look, making the blonde quiet down.

“I was in the Lupin Cages, unlike you. ” He jabbed a finger in her direction, “You’re no better, breaking the school rules.”

Enid felt her claws extend on her lap. She suppressed a growl.

“As much as I appreciate your school pride and rule following, I need to know how the fighting actually occurred.” The shapeshifter asked, placing her head on top of her interlocked fingers.

“Well he said that Wednesday should have been killed by Tyler.” Enid ground out. Her fist shaking on her lap.

Edwin scoffed, “I said what I said. It didn’t matter who the Hyde was. He was only killing because of some crazy normie who had a grudge against the Addams pack.”

Weems shook her head, “That is no reason to wish harm upon your fellow peers.” She turned to Enid, “And no reason to cause harm to them, either.”

“So what now?” Enid glared at the boy next to her.

“Clean up duty,” The headmistress said, “For the next month, you both will be cleaning the school canteen after each meal.”

“That’s not fair!” Enid shouted, “I did what I thought was right!” She glanced at Wednesday who had fallen asleep against Bianca, with Yoko trying to pry her hair out of her grip. “Besides, who will watch her?”

Edwin shrugged, “I’m not doing this alone, Sinclair. Take her with us, this way she can help.”

“Pft, yeah right. She didn’t do anything wrong… yet.” Enid rolled her eyes.

Larissa watched in thought for a moment, “During that time, if she’s little, I can watch her.” She offered with a smile.

Enid bit her lip, she didn’t want to be away from Wednesday. She finally just got her little, and how lucky they were that it was within the first forty eight hours of Wednesday’s first drop.

“If it’s any consideration, Wednesday will most likely be distracted in any headspace.” Weems offered, “As long as it’s not an issue for her, that is.”

Wednesday only offered a breathless sigh, falling into Bianca’s lap bringing Yoko down with her. Divina was resting calmly before landing on the floor with a thud.

“Can we wrap this up?” The siren complained. Bianca’s hands were now trying to help the vampire get her hair back. “ I think it's bedtime.”

Standing up, Enid glared one last time at Edwin. “I’ll see you in the morning.” She turned, walking over to pick up the little raven off of Bianca. The little whined but quieted down, rubbing her face into the blonde's neck.

“After you clean up, please come to my office with Wednesday.” The headmistress said as she pulled out her laptop. “We have things to discuss, and due to the incident, we were unable to talk tonight.”

Enid nodded, as everyone else got up. Yoko picked up Divina who latched onto her, quickly laying her head on the vampire's shoulder.

A chorus of goodnights were given as they headed out of the office.

“So… What do we do with Wednesday?” Yoko asked as they walked down the hall toward the female dorms.

Enid swayed her side to side lightly as she continued, “What do you mean? She is my little. I don’t-”

Yoko chuckled, “No, I mean are we gonna get her cute outfits? Oh! Maybe she will fit in Divina’s!”  The siren snuggled further into her neck.

Smirking, the werewolf held in a laugh, “I have something in the works right now. Thing should be back by now.”

“That disembodied hand was able to bring everything she needs on his own?” The vampire is impressed.

Shrugging, Enid opened the door to her shared room, Yoko popped her head in to see bags and large boxes.

“Apparently.” Enid was shocked at the amount of stuff that was in the room. “Well, I guess I’ll have some sorting to do. Good night Yoko, Divina!”

“See ya later, girls.” Yoko waved, Divina giving a sleepy wave of her own.

Thing waved as the door shut behind the girls. The silver card laying on top of the recite with too many numbers than Enid was comfortable with.

“I see you had a successful trip?” Enid hummed as Wednesday wiggled to the floor sleepily. The hand gave a thumbs up, scurrying onto the nightstand to climb the littles bed.

Walking over to the boxes and bags that littered the floor on both sides of the room, Enid smiled. Out of the corner of her eye, she can see a dark blur pouncing towards the dismembered hand. Wednesday would get close and fall flat, half on the mattress. She smiled, as she watched Wednesday drag herself onto the dark sheets. The sudden burst of energy she had impresses the wolf girl.

“Keep an eye on her, okay? I’m going to sort through this shopping…” He gave another thumbs up. The blonde sat on the floor, surrounded by the color bags.

—---

After about an hour or so of cat and mouse on the dark side of the room, Enid glanced up to see Wednesday staring at her, eyes half lidded. She sat up straighter when they made eye contact, the goth’s face stoic as it normally is.

“Enid.” Wednesday tested her voice, “What is… all this?” She was referring to all the baby things that were already sorted. She raised her eyebrows when she took note of the large sizes. “Are these for Divina?”

Smiling, the blonde held up a black onesie. “It’s for you, silly. Thing went out to pick these up.” She watched as Wednesday blinked slowly. “How about you get some rest? We have to see Principal Weems tomorrow after breakfast duty.”

“We do? For what?” She blinked again slowly, “Does it have to do with this drum beating in my head?”

Enid pursed her lips as she stood up, “You don’t remember do you?” The goth shook her head, nose scrunching for a second in pain. “I think the teacher said something about that in class… before you passed out.”

Laying down on her back, Wednesday hummed. She noticed the clothing she was in, rolling her eyes. “That makes sense.” The padding between her legs crinkled as she rolled onto her side. “I remember bits and pieces. Like being in the court yard for lunch and some yelling. And the nurses office?” She phrased it as a question, Enid nodded. “And… Oh my Lord…You allowed me to eat off the floor?!” She sat up quickly, eyes widening.

“I didn’t- I swear! I tried to stop you but Weems said it was alright!” Enid put her hands up in front of herself, “Please don’t, like, kill me in my sleep! You will have to wait for like ever for someone else to take care of you-”

The raven rolled her eyes, laying back down on her back, “I will not harm you… for now.” She sighed under her breath, “Thank you.”

“For what?” Enid was glad she would live another day. When she got no response, she looked over to Thing who shrugged.

“She’s asleep.” He signed. Jumping from her dark bed, going to the wooden desk to sleep. “Goodnight. Thank you, as well. For taking care of her.”

“‘Night.” Enid smiled. The drawer shut with a snap.

—------

Eyes opening, Wednesday quietly got up, walking to the bathroom door a few feet away. It was dark but that wasn’t an issue, at least it wouldn’t have been if the floor wasn’t littered with the discarded bags. Tripping slightly, she bumped lightly into the door.

Reaching a hand out, she tried to open the door. When her hand hit the knob she couldn't turn it. Her fingers gripped at it uselessly, sliding off the metal. The girl tried again, getting frustrated. “What the hell is wrong with me?!”

“Go get Mama to help.” The voice in her head suggested, Wednesday growled lowly. “It will feel nice, I promise.”

“Don’t make promises you can’t keep.”

“I’m you, how could I not keep a promise to myself, hmm?” It paused, “ Or you can use the diapee for its purpose.”

Wednesday shook her head, she was literally arguing with herself. She was not going to entertain the thought a moment longer. Turning her head, she shuffled over to the sleeping body, staring at it.

“Enid.” Wednesday poked the sleeping figure. “Wake up.” The werewolf continued to snore. She was getting frustrated, and getting colder the more she had to stand in her nightgown. She kicked the mattress, effectively shaking her awake.

“What?! Is there an earthquake?!” Enid scrambled, getting tangled in her pink sheets.

“Calm down, if there were an earthquake, an absurd amount of the trinkets would fall on top of you.” Wednesday crossed her arms, looking at the floor, “I need your help.”

Enid groaned when she sat up. Rubbing her eyes, trying to clear her vision. She was getting tired of being woken up before her alarm. “As much as I enjoy her, Wednesday better not make this a habit.”

“I need to go to the restroom.” Wednesday stated, “And I would prefer to not use this thing if I can help it.”

“Okay? Then go to the toilet, it’s right there.” Enid pointed across. Wednesday huffed, stomping her feet. “What do you need help with then?”

Enid saw the blush that ran across the pale girl’s face. “I can not grip the doorknob…”  She omitted the voice convincing her to give up trying. The blonde blinked at her once, then twice. “Well? I am getting desperate here.”

“And Thing couldn’t help you with this?” Enid pulled her blanket off, pulling herself out of bed. She face-palmed, of course she forgot that is why they installed a dog door in their room.

Wednesday gave a level stare.

“Jeez, don’t look at me like that.” She watched the goth’s eyes squint. “Don’t look at me like that either.”

Getting up, Enid opened the door with a flourish, pushing inwards.

“Your assistance is appreciated.” Wednesday said as she walked inside. The door was about to shut but the blonde put her foot in the way.

“Don’t shut the door. You’ll get stuck.” Wednesday rolled her eyes.

Taking her foot out, Enid sat down on her bed. She listened carefully for the girl.

Pulling open the door a minute later, Wednesday reappeared with a scowl. “I can not get this thing off.”  She tugged at the sides of the undergarment. Enid flicked the tapes off, watching it fall to the floor with a quiet puff. “Oh.” Wednesday picked it up, tossing it in the garbage can. Shutting the door slightly for privacy. A few moments later there was a flush.

“So…” Enid started, “How are you feeling?”

“Like my head was put through a rock tumbler.” Wednesday glared at her hands as she layed back down. “And my hands do not even want to cooperate with me.”

“Maybe we should tell the nur-” She stopped talking when the goth put her hands out in front of her.

“Hand eye coordination is obscured. Must due to the mild concussion in combination to the new hormones.” She thought out loud.

“Come lay with me.” Enid opened the blanket up, “Y’know, just in case…”

Wednesday didn’t move, opting to stare at the blonde like she grew two heads. “C’mon, as your caregiver, I’m going to take care of you.”

“You have been my caregiver for all of thirteen hours, Sinclair. WHat makes you think I’m just going to accept this without a fight?”

“Because you want it. It’s so much easier to just let go.” Wednesday growled at the voice, making Enid tilt her head.

“I’m no longer under the influence of the medication. Therefore I can do as I please, without my consciousness being blocked.” Wednesday said more for herself than anyone else's benefit. In reality she could feel the cloudiness creeping in slowly. She pushed it back, but who knew how long till she blacked out again.

Enid sighed, putting the quilt down, “You really shouldn’t fight your instincts on this. It’s bad for your health.”

“So is the color in your bed.”

Smirking, she moved towards the wall. “You didn’t think so in the morning.”

“Go on. It will be good, being close to Mama. She needs this too.”

Wednesday stayed silent, moving towards the bed. “Fine. You make a good argument.” She took note of the new allergy medication next to Enid’s bed.

The blonde saw her staring, “That’s for you in the morning. She said only take the others at night.”

Laying down, Wednesday pulled the knitted sheet up. “I should be fine for the night without medication.”

Enid bit her lip but said nothing about it. “Night Night, Willa.”

“Goodnight.”

—------

“Enid. We’re late.” Wednesday croaked out as she rolled out of the bed. Her nose was stuffy, and her skin itched on her neck and hands.

Gasping, Enid looked at her phone. “Oh, I’m in so much trouble. Weems is gonna kill me-”

“You will be fine. Just say I was making your morning difficult. It won’t be a lie.” She sneezed, sniffling. Her hands were shaking as she tried to tie the tie around her neck.

The blonde was scrambling around the room, getting ready for the day. They had ten minutes to get to class.

Thing came over, swatting Wednesday’s hands away, fixing it for her. “This is so moronic.”

Stopping to grab her hair brush, Enid gave a pitying gaze. “You can’t help it. If you need help, just ask. That’s my job.”

Rolling her eyes, the dark haired girl grabbed her bookbag. She didn’t want to bring up the rash, it would be gone by lunch. “I have fencing first period-”

“We have to visit Principal Weems.” Enid butted in. “Sleeping in on the first day of punishment will not look good on us.”

Wednesday snorted, “If I understood correctly, it is you who is in trouble. Like I said, use me as an excuse.”

“I can say you gave me a hard time getting a diaper on you.”

The goth’s eyes widened, “You will have one. Because you are absolutely not getting one onto me again when I’m not in headspace.”

“No can do, Willa. It’s school policy, every little who is younger than four needs to wear protection. Otherwise we would have puddles around the school and in the classrooms.” Enid shuddered, “Imagine the smell…”

“I would rather not.” Wednesday moved towards the door. “You are still not getting me in one-” She opened the door to the dorm to be greeted by the shapeshifter.

“Good morning, girls.”  Larissa smiled, “I missed you in the quad earlier.”

Enid gulped, “Y-You see…”

Weems continued to smile, “It’s not an issue. The punishment was meant to show Mr.Collins couldn't get away with things anymore. I know you wouldn’t try to get out of it on purpose.”

Wednesday stood there, shuffling slightly out of the way to allow space for the shapeshifter.

“So I’m not in trouble?”

“Oh you are, darling, but I needed to discuss something with you and Wednesday.” Weems pointed outside the room, “Come with me to my office.”

Getting her shoes on, Enid followed behind with her book bag. She filled it with the supplies for the day.

And Wednesday, who was glad she got out of the diapering, walked side by side with the headmistress, scratching at her hands.

—--

“Go ahead and take a chair.” Weems sat down behind her desk. The girls’ followed her example, taking one for themselves. She raised an eyebrow at the red patches in the pale girl's skin.

“What exactly is going on? Is this about my classification?” Wednesday crossed her arms pressing her hands under her arms when she noticed her gaze.

“To put it simply, yes. Although it also has a hand with Ms. Sinclair’s as well.” Larissa looked uneasy. “I have called both of your parents for an update on your, shall we say, situation. Ms. Addams, your mother already knew because of her being a dove, having sent you those items I presented to you yesterday. Ms. Sinclair on the other hand, your parents are not, um, pleased with you from what I gathered during the brief conversation .”

Enid rolled her eyes, “They alway have an issue with me! Doesn’t matter what I do. What did they say this time?”

 “They said something about the Addams and your family having a feud that runs centuries deep, and it is unacceptable that one is now bonded to you. But let’s not dwell on that, right ladies?”

Wednesday raised an eyebrow, “Why are you telling us this exactly? We would have found this out with a phone call of our own.”

“Ahem, you see, since Enid is still a minor and you both are still students here, I am technically your caregiver until she turns eighteen.” Weems' features softened, “Although, I do not see it fit to separate bonded caregivers and littles from each other, I do need to make sure you are being properly taken care of.”

“Why are we different from the rest of the other students like us then?” Enid questioned, she felt hyper aware of the fact that she could take Wednesday if she wanted to.

The woman smiled, “Well you being a werewolf and a caregiver means that during the full moons and the days after, Wednesday needs to be cared for by someone.”

“I can take care of myself.”

“When you are not little, by all means. But you will be little at least once during these events.” Larissa sighed, “And since your little self already sees me as a viable family member-”

“Oh dark lord, I didn’t-”

“I had to call your mother to get her permission to take you for the days Enid is resting.” Weems explained, “I have a temporary nursery in my apartment for the littles who’s caregivers are unavailable.”

“Do you mean to tell me, every student who doesn't have a match or is indisposed stays with you?” Wednesday’s eyes widened, “That doesn’t seem plausible.”

“And it’s not. Our students who don’t have one are taken care of by their families or a hired temp caregiver until one is found. Thankfully we are directly linked to a lot of facilities who deal with matches.”

“Then why me?”

“Like I said, your headspace liked me, associating me with family.” The principal left out the fact that she has not been paired with one of her own yet, so she would adore the girl over.

Wednesday groans, this was getting them nowhere. “Can I at least stay in my dorm when you watch me?”

“We just bought her a bunch of little items, so it should be alright.” Enid nodded, “And we can get her rails for her dorm bed too, like Divina has.”

Weems shook her head, “As much as I would like to keep you in your dorm with my supervision, I can not. I have no guarantee that it is baby proof like my apartment.”

“And I’m allowed to stay there now? Do you know how many weapons I keep in there?”

Enid pulled at her collar, “Um, about that… You now have, uh,  none? Thing helped me…”

Wednesday’s head snapped to her, “Sinclair I will literally murder you-”

Weems smirked, writing something down on a pad of paper. “I’m giving you both permission slips for your teachers to leave class. But this only meant for when Wednesday drops, alright? And if you have an exam, Ms.Sinclair, you are to finish it first. Classwork can be made up another time. Ms. Addams, you have slightly different rules. If any exams or time-sensitive classwork needs to be made up, you will use your days off and breaks to catch up.”

Grabbing the papers, they stuffed them into their pockets. “Anything else you want to tell us?”

“Parents week is this weekend, so you will have the chance to talk to your parents in person about arrangements for holidays off campus.” Larissa told them, typing something on her open laptop. “Now off to class with you both. Oh, and one extra day of cleaning for you Ms. Sinclair, for skipping this morning.”

The girls’ stood up, making their way out of the office. Once in the hall, Enid pulled the white undergarment from her book bag along with baby powder.

“Do not think you can get me in that thing willingly-”

“You can change yourself if it makes you happy, alright? I would rather you not have an accident.” Reluctantly, Wednesday grabbed the items, turning in her heel to walk into the bathroom in the hall.

“I’ll wait out here.”

Going inside the stall, she undid her school uniform, the skirt falling to the floor. Looking down at herself, she took note of her choice of underwear. She grumbled, giving a silent farewell to her bat prints.

Wrapping the diaper around her waist, she tried to figure out how the mechanics worked. Like, yeah she changed Pugsley when he was a baby but never had put one on herself before. She tried to do the opposite of what Enid did for her by taking it off. After a moment of deliberation she growled, the fog in her head was starting to come forward again.

“Go on, you know what you have to do.”

“I’m getting tired of you telling me what to do.” She retorted to the voice. She heard a giggle.

“I’m you, you can’t get tired of yourself.”

“Watch me.”

“Oh, I got it! You want to play a game? Let’s play,“who's right” I’ll start.”

Wednesday was confused, “What are you even-” She soon felt her vision black out for a moment, “You- Me? This is so confusing!” She started to get scared, something that was unheard of for an Addams.

“All you have to do is listen to me and this will go smoothly. Don’t fight your instincts on this.”

“I’m going insane- That’s it. I thought it would come later in my life, but maybe now is just as good.” Wednesday reasoned. The pain in her head pushed her again. “Fine! I’ll ask for… help.”

“Just know, I am a part of you now.”

She growled again at her inner voice. “I’m going to give myself a lobotomy one day-” Then her world went black again.

After about ten minutes they were later than ever for class. Wednesday came out, holding the white square unfolded and crumpled. “I can’t.”

Enid looked up from her phone, noticing how wobbly the goth was standing with just her upper half dressed. The werewolf gasped, looking side to side before pushing her into the restroom. “Wednesday- don’t walk into the hall like that!”

“Sorry.” Her eyes glued to the floor, “Help please.”

Enid sighed, “Do you have to use the toilet first before I put this on you?” Wednesday’s eyes moved to lock onto her blue ones. “Go on and try, I’ll be outside the stall. Call out when you’re done.”

After two more minutes, Wednesday yelled she was done. “Go on and flush, I’ll be right in.”

She finished texting Yoko, pocketing her phone.

“Mama.” Wednesday said as she was sitting in the lid of the toilet seat. Enid smiled softly.

“Such a big girl, using the potty on her own.” Enid praised making the goth blush. “But we gotta put a nappy on okay?”

Wednesday crossed her arms, Enid picked her up and put her on the changing station in the stall. Luckily Nevermore is a well funded school, having the needs met for their variety of students. Every hall bathroom has a changing station built in, although they are cold plastic ones, they will do.

The goth squirmed when her bare bottom hit the gray plastic. “Sit still, Wends’ I’ll be done in a few seconds.” Taking the wipes she had in her bag, she cleaned the girl and diapered her. “See? Not that bad.”

She took note of the girl sucking her thumb, “Here.” She took the black dummy out, popping it into the dark haired girl’s mouth. “Much better.” She redressed the little in her skirt and sat her up. She tsked at the red bumps that led under her uniform.

“Now, I need to get to lycanthropy before it’s over. Do you want to go back to Principal Weems?” Wednesday shook her head, reaching for Enid, “I can’t take you with me.”

“No go!” Wednesday demanded, “Go bad to bed.” She scratched at her neck, “Itchy. No go.”

Enid sighed, “I’ll get you some medicine and then we will go to my class to show him our notes, okay?”

Wednesday nodded, grabbing onto Enid’s shoulder hopping down.

After going to the nurses office, and getting a cream for the goth’s rash they made their way to the Lycanthropy room.

“Ah, there you are, Ms.Sinclair. Go ahead and take your seat.” Mr. Lycan pointed behind him as he continued to write on the white board.

Enid had Wednesday's hand in her own as she dragged the tired girl to the class. Taking her free hand, the werewolf fished out the permission slip. “I’m sorry for being tardy but I have a note.”

The professor raised an eyebrow while taking the slip.  Reading it over, he handed it back to the other werewolf. “Begone with you. Pages twenty through thirty.” Is all he said as he eyes the goth girl behind Enid. When the duo didn’t move he shooed them with his marker hand.

Turning tail, Enid left with a quick bye. Pushing Wednesday into the direction of their next destination.

“Bed now?” Wednesday asked as she rubbed her eye. Enid shook her head, making her stomp.

“I’m sorry but not yet. I need you to eat something first, okay?”

Wednesday whined loudly, “No! Want nap! No feel good.” She stomped on the ground over again.

The beginnings of a tantrum, Enid recognised. “We’re going to the cafeteria.” She put her hand on the goth’s shoulder from behind, pushing until she moved.

“No!” Wednesday grabbed onto Enid’s hand, turning them around, “Bed now. Tummy hurts.”

“Well, duh! It will feel so much better when you feed it!” Enid stopped walking, being lightly tugged towards the dorms. Wednesday pulled a little harder but her stomach growled, surprising her.

“Huh?” She poked at her belly. Enid giggled, watching the little.

    “You imbecile, you know what that is-” Wednesday yelled at herself. She made eye contact with Enid before she was gone again.

Distracted, Enid was able to guide her back around. Turning the corner, they almost ran into Yoko who was carrying a tray.

“I got your text, Pup.” Yoko smiled softly, “You took, like, forever to show up in the cafeteria so I came to you.”

Wednesday quickly hid behind Enid, peaking over her shoulder. “Mama…” She whispered, tugging at her sleeve, “Food?”

The vampire stepped forward, trying to hand the girl some sliced apple. Wednesday growled lowly, shocking Yoko. She didn’t know she could growl, she stared at Enid wide eyed.

“We don’t bite the hand that feeds us, okay?” Enid chastised. “Thank you, bestie! Here I’ll take that from you.”

She grabbed the tray, and Yoko waved goodbye. She mumbled something about Wednesday learning the wrong traits.

“Bed now? ”  Wednesday begged as she glanced at the food. She tried to grab the slices herself but Enid held the food above them.

“We’ll eat then we can take a nap. Sounds good?” Enid asked rhetorically, she wasn’t giving her a choice. Wednesday nodded nonetheless.

Once back at their shared room, they made a makeshift blanket pile in the middle. Thing bringing over some napkins for the girls and making himself scarce.

“I would prefer you in your highchair but I haven't put it together yet.” Enid said as she placed a bib around Wednesday’s neck.

Wednesday looked down at the gray fabric and tugged at it lightly. She was about to say something when Enid fed her an apple slice. She grabbed the blonde’s wrist, humming happily.

“Did you like that?” Enid smiled as the goth nodded. “Here, can you feed yourself or…” Wednesday already had her mouth open, waiting for the next slice. “That answered my question, haha!”

After a few minutes of feeding Wednesday, the girl yawned tugging the blonde towards the pink bed. “Nap time.”

“Fine, fine. I did say you could after we ate. First, take your medicine.” Wednesday took two pills from the nightstand, swallowing them quickly. Enid rolled her eyes, moving the knitted blanket for Wednesday to slide in first this time. She watched in delight as the girl took her blue elephant and gripped it tightly. Enid made eye contact with her dark ones, getting into the bed with her. “Do you want the fairy lights on?”

“Mm na.” She snuggled into the werewolves side, closing her eyes. Soon her breathing evened out, and Enid knew the girl was asleep.

Enid couldn’t sleep though, they were still in their uniforms and they were itchy. Added to the full night sleep she had gotten, she wasn’t in the mood for a nap. So she silently waved over Thing, who had been reading a book on the dark bed across the room.

“Hey, what’s up?” Thing signed, looking up from his braille text.

“Can you do us a favor? I need to get my homework from other classes while this one naps.” She whispered.
“I could watch her if you would like. You go ahead and get to your second class.” Thing told her as he crawled to her bed. Enid sat up slowly, glad Wednesday was a heavy sleeper in head space. “I’ll grab you if she wakes up.”

Enid nodded as she picked up her school bag, quietly making her way out the dorm room.

Chapter 4: Lunch Time

Chapter Text

When Wednesday woke up next, it was an hour or so later. Thing was laying beside her, reading through his magazine. The goth looked around, narrowing her eyes at the brightness in the room.

“Good morning, sleeping beauty.” Thing signed sarcastically, “Sleep well?”

Wednesday turned her head towards the hand. Staring at him half lidded, she was going to open her mouth, but decided against it. Her head swiveled around looking for something. Not finding what she was wanting, she got up and walked around the room.

“You alright, Wednesday?” The disembodied hand asked cautiously. The goth’s eyes glided to him, “If you are looking for Enid, she’s in class. I can go get her if you nee-”

She was quickly out the door, leaving in her socks. Thing sighed, or whatever a hand version of a sigh is.

“Hey, Addams!” Yoko called out from the hallway, the classes were going into the third hour soon.  Jogging up to the dark haired little, the vampire slowed to a walk when she was ignored, “Where are you going?”

Wednesday’s head snapped towards Yoko, “No find Mama, where she at?”

Yoko made a “Oh.” Before grabbing onto Wednesday’s hand, dragging her towards a seemingly random classroom. The girl just assumed she knew where Enid was, so allowed herself to be taken.

Thing scurried after the pair, going unnoticed by them. After a few more minutes of roaming the halls, they stopped at a door.

“Wait here with me, class gets out soon.” Yoko said as she sat on the floor. Wednesday stayed standing, crossing her arms. “Come on and sit with Auntie Yoko.” She laughed at her own comment, patting the ground near her.

“No.” Wednesday snuffed, tilting her head upwards. “Want Mama now!” She stomped but was thrown off balance. Yoko was fast to catch her before she could fall forward. Tugging her down, the vamp put the girl on her lap.

Wednesday blinked, looking at where she was just standing.

“Huh?”

The dark haired vampire giggled into her shoulder blades. “You’re so adorable, Chīsana Karasu. ” She wrapped her arms around Wednesday’s midsection, but remembered something. While keeping an arm around the wiggling little, she checked the rash that Enid texted her about.

Squirming, trying to get away from her cold touch, Wednesday leaned forward. Unfortunately for the goth, Yoko held on tightly. “Stooop.” She whined, scratching lightly at Yoko's painted nails.

Happy that the rash is almost non-existent now, she fixed the collar of Wednesday’s shirt. The girl in her lap took that as a sign she could move but was greatly disappointed when she felt the other hand rejoin her waist.

A shutter sound pulled the pair’s attention to the right. Enid stood there with her pink phone in hand, smiling brightly. Thing was perched on her left shoulder, giving a wave.

“Hey, girl!” Yoko waved as she finally released her prisoner to the warden. “Look who I found roaming the halls.” She stood up when Wednesday clumsily got to her feet. “Heads up, she’s not wearing any shoes.” She noticed as she glanced down to straighten her skirt out.

“Mama!” The raven shouted as she stumbled her way over to the blonde.

Enid pocketed her phone as Thing disappeared after signing he would be back. “Did you have a nice nap, my little baby?” Wednesday nodded into her chest as she hugged the teen.

“No leave ‘gain.” Wednesday mumbled as Enid picked her up. She wrapped her legs around the wolf’s hips and pulled her arms round her neck, laying her head onto Enid's shoulder.

Soon there was a shutter sound from Yoko’s phone, “I’ll send these to you in the group, haha! This is amazing, finally payback for all those photos of me and Divina.”

Rolling her eyes, Enid looked at Wednesday, “I got permission to take you to my next class, isn’t that fun?”

Wednesday shook her head, “Nu uh.”

Tilting her head, Yoko was intrigued, “Ms Saber’s letting you bring her to geography?”

Enid nodded, “I needed to give her second period teacher the note. She has that class right before us. But that doesn’t excuse me from classes if the professor says so.”

Wednesday reburied her head into Enid’s shoulder. Yoko was content to say the least, Divina also had this class with her and Enid.

Once the last period ended, the students left the classroom. They lined up outside the room, Enid talking idly to Divina while Yoko played a game on her phone. Wednesday was playing with the blonde and blue hair that the werewolf had.

Soon they were inside, their desks were pushed together in a square, Enid sat Wednesday down in the seat next to her. Yoko and Divina took their own chairs.

“Hey-o! How are ya doing?” Divina asked Wednesday who had a coloring book in front of her. She grumbled something, not responding to the siren. Leaning in to Yoko she asked, “Is- Is she joining us today?”

Yoko nodded in affirmation, “Hey, Weds what are you drawing?”

Wednesday held up the book to face the group. Her face blank, she put it back down and continued to color with the black marker.

“That is very uh nice?” Enid said as she leaned into them next, “What was that?” She whispered.

“A dog?” Divina supplied.

“A blobfish?”

Wednesday slammed the marker down, “It's a bat!” She pushed the book away from her and put her head down, pouting.

“Oh! Well that is a very nice bat.” Enid rubbed her back.

The teacher walked into the room, shortly after carrying a stack of papers for her students. “Sorry I’m late, everyone. The copy machine ran out of ink and I needed these for my lesson today.”

Thing scurried in before the door shut to the class.

“Everyone, please turn to page two hundred and twenty, there are vocabulary words and five questions to answer. When you are ready, come and take these papers to fill out with the answers from the text.”

The sounds of books and paper filled the room. The teacher sat down at her desk, opening her laptop.

Wednesday looked around the room, taking note that everyone was independently working. Her eyes glided to Enid, who was already writing down the first vocabulary word in the book.

“What are you doing?” Wednesday asked, peaking over her side of the desk.

Enid glanced at her, her air pods on full volume. “Classwork.” She said as she wrote down the definition to the second word.

After about thirty minutes of scribbling, Wednesday was restless. Kicking her feet against the floor, her chair leaned back slightly shocking her. Once the posts were back on the floor, Wednesday did it again slower this time. She was balancing on the back two legs of the seat, getting more daring with it by taking her hands off the desk.

“Don’t do that Ms.Addams. You’ll crack your head open.” Ms. Saber called from her desk. When the goth didn’t stop, the teacher stood up and pushed the chair back down to the floor, keeping her hand on the back. “Please, stop. If you get hurt, I’ll have to clean up the blood and I really don’t wanna do that.”

Wednesday’s eyes narrowed, not happy that the woman was in her personal space, let alone stop her fun. She snapped her head to the side, making eye contact with the teacher.

“Looking at me like that won’t get you far. I allowed you to join Ms. Sinclair for class because you missed the last period, don’t push your luck.” She shook her head as Wednesday crossed her arms and stuck her tongue out. “Listen, Wednesday. Principal Weems sent emails to all of your teachers about your accommodations,” She leaned down, “If you can’t behave, I will send you to her while Enid is working.”

The little shook her head, grabbing onto the werewolf’s arm, making her draw a line across the paper.

“Hey-” Enid turned to face her, noticing the scowl on her face, she took an earbud out, “What’s wrong, Willa?”

“Stay with Mama!” Wednesday argued. “How dare this woman even suggest that-”

“If you can’t behave, I will have to bring you to Ms. Weems unfortunately. You’ll get me in trouble.”

The girl’s eyes snapped up to meet Enid’s blue ones. She gasped, letting go of the blonde’s arm. The betrayal- “No!”

Everyone in the classroom was now paying attention to their table.

“Calm down, please- You’re not going anywhere I promise.” Enid rubbed a hand down her face, “I’ll finish my work and then we can go into the hallway to do whatever you want, okay?”

The teacher nodded, walking away. She decided to allow the caregiver to parent her Little, for it wasn’t her place to say.

Thing took this moment to make Enid aware of his presence. He signed a hello, before climbing onto her desk. Wednesday tried to grab onto him but he dodged her.

“I got her homework, it’s on her desk in the dorm.” Thing signed. Enid nodded, while charge huffed in defiance.

“I don’t wanna be here.” The dark haired girl pouted.

“We know, geez!” Divina whined, taking her own headphones off. “Leave, you're being too loud.”

“You’re one to talk.”

“Nuh uh!”

“Yes.”

“Nope-”

“Both of you, stop.” Yoko butted in, “Finish your work.” The vampire tapped the siren’s notebook with her pen. The girl groaned, not wanting to do it anymore.

“But it’s so boring!” Divina put her head onto her desk, facing away from Yoko. She stuck her thumb in her mouth chewing on it lightly.

Yoko sighed, and reached in her bag to grab her a soother. “You can’t keep doing this, baby girl.”

The siren turned her head and stuck her tongue out, before opening her mouth to allow her caregiver to put the dummy in there.

Enid finished her work in about ten minutes, quickly gathering up their things. “Let’s go.” Wednesday stood up from her desk wobbly, but made her way out of the room. Thing followed after them, slipping into the hallway.

“Play now!”

Enid shook her head but smiled, “Sure but we have lunch in thirty minutes and I can’t skip cleaning this time.”

Stomping her feet, the goth girl walked forward and latched onto the werewolf, who picked her up. “Play now!” She repeated.

“What do you want to play?”

Thing waved, grabbing their attention, “ She liked to chase Pugsley around when they were children, so maybe a game of chase?”

Wednesday clapped her hands, “Yeah! Chase!”

Biting her lip, Enid moved Wednesday to her hip. “Do you even think you can run?” Wednesday looked down, and frowned when she got dizzy. But that was nothing an Addams couldn’t handle. “Mmhm!”

“Okay…” Enid said as she allowed the goth down, not sure about letting her run around without foot protection. “I’ll give you a head start! But you have to stay in the school halls. I don't wanna pull things from your feet. You’ll have two minutes, sounds good?”

“Yes!” Wednesday grinned brightly, rushing to the corner of the hall. She tripped over her feet for a moment but kept going.

Enid sighed, sitting down. Thing hopped onto her open palm. “What am I going to do with her?”

“Take care of her clearly,” Thing signed sarcastically but playful, “How are you taking this?”

Blinking, the blonde realized she hadn’t had time to process this. It was such a large change in her life, and it’s only been a day. “I don’t know? Happy I guess but also super nervous I’ll mess this up somehow.”

Thing tapped her wrist, “You’ll do just fine, my dear. You are taking to this just as nature intended.” He gave her a thumbs up, “And if you need help or advice, I am only a call away.”

  “Thanks, Thing. You’re so amazing!” Enid smiled standing up, “Now, let's go grab my girl.” She giggled, put the hand on her shoulder, she sprinted.

—----

By the time lunch rolled around, Wednesday was a giggling and sweaty mess. “Dat was fun!”

The werewolf smiled, while holding her active little. “You’re a mess, baby! But I’m happy you had fun.”

Wednesday stuck her thumb in her mouth, nodding. Enid kicked open the double doors to the quad and found her normal table. Edwin was already at his table with two other boy’s, who all glared at the pair.

Sitting down, they waited for the rest of the group. Once Bianca got there, Enid stood up and went to the food table.

The siren looked down at Wednesday and smirked, “So how are you, Addams?”

Wednesday met her stare, face blank. “Could be better. By the fact that I am sitting at a table, it is meal time.”

Bianca put her hand under chin, “I’m curious, do you have any memory of the last day?”

Rolling her eyes, the goth sat up straight. “If you must know, I remember bits and pieces.” She winced when a spike of pain ran through her head, “The pounding in my skull is horrendous.”

“Symptoms of the first forty eight.” Yoko said, heading towards the table holding the siren. “You will drop hard and after that, unless you drop naturally, you will suffer migraines.”

Wednesday groaned, laying her head down. The cloudiness in her mind was creeping around the edges right now. Her hair and uniform clung to her wetly. “I hate this feeling.” She whined, rubbing her face.

“Divina went through this too a few years ago.” Yoko sat down, putting her little next to her.

Bianca waved at them, taking her phone out. “According to google it could last up to a week.”

“No.” Is all Wednesday said as she closed her eyes, took a deep breath and sat up again. Opening them, she took note of Enid coming back with two plates. “I’m going to eat, and go to class.”

Enid put the plates down, standing behind the girl, she stuck two fingers in her waistband, checking the diaper. “Dry. Okay, let's eat!” She was about to sit down next to her but was tugged down.

Wednesday jumped, spinning around so fast she almost fell off the bench. Her eyes wide and face red, she shuddered, “Of all the embarrassing and asinine things I have been subjected to in the last day-” Her face getting close to the blondes.

“Hey! You’re back with us!” Enid cheered as she took Wednesday’s wrist and pulled her hand away. She took her seat, picking up her fork and began to eat her steak.

The rest of the table went back to their normal conversations and shenanigans. Wednesday pushed around her food, not feeling like eating. Her stomach growled in protest, looking down at the plate in front of her she grimaced.

Enid was pulled from her conversation with Divina when the goth took her fork and bit into the food on her plate. “Did you not like the salad I got you?”

Wednesday munched on the corn that was scooped up on her fork, “It is not appetizing.” Enid rolled her eyes, pushing her plate toward her. “No, thank you-”

“You want my food, right? I can always get more-” Enid stood up, before quickly rushing away.

Yoko laughed, “Ha, Divina refused to eat anything unless it was on my plate forever .”

Binaca raised an eyebrow as Wednesday lowered her head, scratching the back of her neck.

“So is this a little thing?” The alpha siren asked, as she continued to watch the goth sulk.

“It definitely is a common trait. You just learn to grab extra food at the beginning, and you should be fine.”

“I do not want her food.” Wednesday grumbled, hand digging harder into her neck. Bianca grabbed her hand, bringing it down to her side. “How dare you touch me, Barclay-”

“If I didn’t do it, she -” She pointed to the vampire, “Or Enid would have.” Taking a bite of her fish, she rolled her eyes at Wednesday, who went back to playing with her food.

Yoko took a sip from her bloodbag, handing Divina a bottle of apple juice. Wednesday watched it, biting her lip. The siren had laid down in Yoko’s lap with her eyes closed, enjoying the comfort. Wednesday wanted the bottle. She began to plan.

Enid skipped back to the table with another plate, almost identical to the one she forfeited to Wednesday. The only thing missing was the steak she had grabbed, still sitting on her old plate.

Taking her seat again, Enid began to eat. Wednesday noticeably peaked up when her caregiver came back. Her scheming on how to get her hands on the item gone, for now.

Watching the blonde eat, her mind began to short circuit again. The voice makes their presence known.

“Take it. Look how good it is, if Mama is eating it.”

Wednesday agreed silently, reaching a hand out to grab Enid’s wrist. Leaning forward, she guided her fork to her mouth, closing around it. Enid only allowed it because at least the goth was eating.

“Do you want me to feed you?” Enid scooped up a portion of corn on her fork again, watching as Wednesday opened her mouth, translating it as a yes. “You’re so adorable.” She squealed happily.

Wednesday glared at Yoko who had her phone up, taking a video of her.

“Who would have thought Addams was a little little, ha!” Binaca jokes lightheartedly, Wednesday turned around giving her a raised eyebrow, daring her to go on. “What? Don’t give me that look, you have to be at least one or two. Three at max .”

Enid thought so too, but didn’t feel the need to question it. It doesn’t matter how old her headspace was, she was going to love her dearly. But when the teasing continued she noticed Wednesday's eyes turn glassy. She was getting worked up about this, slowly but it was showing. Her pale face, flushing, a mix of anger and embarrassment.

Moving back around, the gothic girl refused to eat anymore food from the wolf. Taking her own fork again she stabbed at her salad again.

“Look what you did, Bee.” Divina whined, rubbing her eyes. Sitting up, she yawned. “But it’s cool, at least I’ll have someone to play with!”

Wednesday mumbled something again, eating a small bite of her greens. Most of it fell on her lap, but she didn’t care. Her appetite was gone, staring at her own tray but she ate for show only.

Her eyes kept darting to her caregiver, watching as she ate and talked to Yoko. Divina and Bianca talked to each other about practice after classes that afternoon. Wednesday felt the cloudiness of her mind returning again. She felt ignored. That wasn’t gonna fly.

“How can Divina be in and out of headspace whenever she wants?” Wednesday blurted out, sniffling a little. She took note of the siren acting mature one minute and like a toddler the next.

“Oh! Because it can be pushed away when I really need to be aware.” Divina explained, “It makes me tired but it's okay because I can just nap and feel better.”

Yoko shook her head, “What she means is that if she feels a drop coming on, if it's for a short amount of time she can push it off for a little bit. Not the whole day, because it’s bad for your health.” Divina gave a thumbs up before going back to her conversation with Bianca.

Wednesday took a mental note before dropping into Enid’s lap. The blonde looked down at her, quickly raising her arms up so as to not scratch Wednesday with her claws.

“Are you okay, Willa?” The only response she got was the girl nuzzling into her stomach.

“I wanna baba.” Wednesday mumbled into her. She almost kicked Bianca off the bench. She went to reach for her bag, but Yoko was already getting the baby bottle with water in it.

“Why is she not wearing any shoes?” The siren asked, pointing down.

Enid facepalm, “I forgot to ask Thing, ugh.” Wednesday continued to whine, gripping at her blazer.

They were jostled when Edwin bumped into them harshly, “Oops, I didn’t see you there or this morning . Do not forget again, Sinclair. We have to clean after lunch.”

“I know, dipshit.” She growled. The boy clicked his tongue and walked away. “Fucking dumbass.” Wednesday chuckled darkly, but was soon turned around when she got handed the bottle from the vampire.

Soon lunch was over, signified by the harsh bell. Almost every student rushed to their next class, leaving behind their trays or trash on the tables.

The only people left in the quad were the two wolves and the psychic.

“Good afternoon, everyone!” Larissa cheerfully greeted the teens. Wednesday, who was laying on the charred grass, rolled over to crawl toward the shapeshifter. Weems smiled softly at the little, who had the black pacifier in her mouth.

“Bah!” Wednesday giggled, pushing herself onto her padded bottom. Her features are soft and innocent. The girl’s chocolate colored eyes were wide and sparkling. “Auntie!” She clapped, dropping her soother onto her lap. Falling onto her back, she continued to giggle adorably. She kicked her legs happily as the woman leaned down.

“Hello, darling girl.” She crouched to get closer to the happy little, “You are just the cutest thing.” She booped her nose, and Wednesday grabbed her hand.

“I’m baby!” Wednesday cheered, happy to get attention. Her mama had left to go clean as soon as the bell rang, leaving her at the table. That soon got boring, and she found herself on the grass.

“You sure!” Larissa tickled her belly, “Do you want to join me while your mommy cleans up, hm?”

“Yeahs!” She let go of the woman’s hand as she held her arms up to be carried. “Can I has a snack?”

“Didn’t you just have lunch?”

Wednesday nodded, sticking her hand in her mouth. “Want sweets.”

“You can have a cookie.” Larissa smiled as she carried her to the kitchens, waving at the staff. “Do you like chocolate chips or raisins?”

“Hmmm, cocklet!” Wednesday confirmed.

Weems faltered for a moment, “Um okay… Moving on…” The woman that was washing the dishes giggled at the mispronunciation.

“Wednesday?” Enid shouted into the kitchen, “There you are!” She jogged over to the pair, watching as the girl nibbled on the sweet that Larissa gave her.

“Mama!” Wednesday held up her treat, “Wook! I gots a cocklet cookie!”

Enid faltered, stifling a laugh. “What is it, Wednesday?”

“Cocklet cookie?”

Enid wheezed, trying to get air in her lungs. “One m-more time!”

Weems stepped away from the teen, “Stop making her say it. Don’t you have work to get done?”

The werewolf stopped laughing and ran off.

Chapter 5: The Voice

Chapter Text

“You are such a mess, darling.” Weems smiled as she wiped Wednesday’s face from the cookie crumbs. “What do you want to do? You can’t go to class like this.”

Wednesday laid her head down on the woman, yawning. “I wanna go wit mama…”

Larissa walked them back to the quartyard. She took a seat at one of the benches that was recently cleaned. “I think you need a nap, little one.”  Wednesday only snuggled closer to the woman, who sighed contently.

She really wanted a little of her own, but this one will be sufficient for now. Not like she was complaining honestly, she got to hold maybe one of the cutest littles she’s ever seen. (Totally not because she is Gomez’s kid or anything.)

“‘M sleepy…” Wednesday mumbled, sticking her thumb in her mouth, completely forgetting about who she was laying on. “Night night.”

Rubbing the girl’s back, she stood up and rocked her side to side. She only came to supervise the cleaning but the little in her arms distracted her.

After about ten more minutes, the cleaning was completed. Edwin rushing off to his next class, Enid rushing to the shapeshifter.

“Here, I can take her now.” Enid said as she held her arms out. “Thanks for watching her, I didn’t realize how long it would take to clean.”

“It would have been shorter if you didn’t stop doing one thing to do another, Ms. Sinclair.” She joked, but was impressed at how quick the two wolves got this place sparkling without fighting. She moved her hold on Wednesday, only for the girl to whine in protest at the loss of warmth.

“How about you watch her while I go to class? If you don’t mind that is… I’m sure as much as the caregiver class is important for me, she would get bored.” Or worse, become an example. She didn’t say out loud, but she had a feeling that Wednesday would actually murder anyone in there who dared to touch her, any headspace.

“Oh, I don’t mind at all.” Weems readjusted her hold again, Wednesday gripping into her shirt. “Now go on, and I’ll see you when your school day is over.” Enid waved rushing off down the corridors.

“Let’s get you in some appropriate clothing, hmm.” Weems said as she patted Wednesday’s bottom. The girl let out a sigh of contentment, still sleeping.

Making their way to the office, Weems laid her down on the chaise lounge.

Wednesday whined, opening her eyes. “Nooo.” She curled up, missing the body heat. Soon Larissa pulled a blanket out from her desk, one that she uses for the late nights she has every now and then. Draping it over the goth, who grabbed it greedily, she went back to finding an outfit for the teen.

After her phone call with Morticia, there was a box of items and clothing that got sent for Wednesday. The note said something about them being handmade and spell protected. There was more on the page she needed to give to the Addams girl, but she couldn’t read it due to being in italian.

Picking up the bundle of clothes from the box, Weems sorted through them searching for a suitable outfit. As she went through the clothes, she took note of how many of the items were the softest material she has ever felt. It seemed to me a cross of silk and cotton, almost gliding across the skin, light to the touch.

She moved one shirt over and found a striped white and black shirt, similar to the one she’s sure Wednesday would wear on her outings to town. Pulling it from the pile, she grabbed the black ankle length skirt that was sitting on top of the pants pile.

Sighing, Larissa walked over to the curled up little. She didn’t want to wake her up, but she was sure that having her student awake all night wouldn’t bode well. The Addams may be a mix of many nocturnal creatures, but she knew the eldest Addams child well enough. Wednesday may have sharp teeth, but they were for show only with how muddled her bloodline was.

“Come on, Wednesday. Time to wake up from your nap and get changed.” The shapeshift lightly shook the girl, who groaned in annoyance. “Darling, don’t you wanna look nice for your Mama after class?” Wednesday opened her eyes, blinking up at her. “There you are! Have a nice nap?”

Wednesday shook her head harshly, making the bones crack in her neck. The woman helped her sit up as the goth rubbed her eyes with both fists and yawned. Dropping her hands to her side, she flopped onto Larissa’s lap.

“Ah ah, up and attem, Addams!” She scratched the goth teens back lightly, before pulling her up again. The girl kept her eyes shut, whimpering.

Nooo…” She didn’t wanna get up, she wanted to sleep. Her head was hurting in all the wrong ways. She leaned against the woman again, trying to lay back down but she wouldn’t allow it.

“Let’s get you changed and we can do almost anything you want till your mama gets out of class okay?”

“Ehhhh…” Wednesday whined, but allowed the headmistress to stand her up and walk her to the private bathroom. “My head hurts though…”

“I’ll get you some medicine after we finish. Now hop up.” She patted the hip height changing table. She held Wednesday’s hand while the girl climbed the step ladder.

Stripping the little of her uniform, and changing the solid padding, she redressed the girl with no resistance. Wednesday was wide awake by the time Larissa finished with the outfit change, staring at her necklace. Smiling, she picked up the girl who clinged onto her like a monkey.

“Mama now?”

“She’s almost done with class, alright?” Wednesday’s lip trembled, but she quickly silenced herself by sticking her thumb in her mouth. “How about we do something fun, hmm?”

“Wike color?” She asked around her thumb. Weems nodded, sitting them down at her desk.

“If that’s what you would like to do.” She pulled out some blank sheets of paper and coloring pencils, putting them down on the desk. “Here you go, darling.”

“I’m gonna draw a bat!” Wednesday said, snatching the black pencil from the box. “You color too!”

“Oh, can you teach me how to draw a bat?” Weems asked as she grabbed the red one. Leaning over the excited little, she watched as Wednesday drew line after line. Drawing the lines slowly, still coming out crooked, she finished her ‘bat’.

“Like this!” She held it up proudly, “Now you!”

The headmistress didn’t consider herself an artist, but she did make the animal with little difficulty. “Like this?”

“Mm hmm! But mines is better!” Wednesday giggled. “Color now!” She grabbed the red colored pencil from the headmistress's hand, scribbling over her bat.

Soon the bell rang and they had four pages of different colored ‘bats’.

“Clean up time, your mama will be here soon.” Wednesday jumped up making her way around the office, grabbing anything she knew was her’s and tossed them into the brown box that carried her clothes.

Weems smiled, shaking her head as she went behind the girl and refolded anything that she threw.

“All done!” Wednesday said proudly sitting next to the box, “Mama now?”

Just in that moment there was a knock at the door, making Wednesday squeal in delight.

“Come in!” The headmistress called, and soon the door opened revealing the wolf. “Hello, Ms. Sinclair.”

“Hey! How was she?” Enid asked as she skipped into the room, Wednesday made her way over to the blonde. Bending down, she picked up the little.

“She was delightful, for once. No trouble on her end.” Weems laughed a little, but remembered something, “Oh, make sure to give her something for her headache, she didn’t say anything after I changed her. But just in case, okay?”

Wednesday rubbed her face against Enid’s neck making the teen giggle. “Missed you, mama!”

“I missed you too, Willa.” She took note of the box on the floor, “Should I take these with me?”

Weems thought for a moment before sighing, “I think we should keep some of them here, in case of emergency. But I’ll send them back with that hand you girls’ are keeping in your dorm.”

“Well, I have journalism club, so I need to get going. I’ll see you later Ms. Weems.”

“Oh before you leave, I just wanted to remind you that parents' weekend starts tomorrow.”

Enid’s eyes widened, “A-Already? I thought it was next weekend?”

“No, I did remind you this morning that it was this weekend.” Weems said, as she sat behind her desk. “I completely forgot what day of the week it was, I do apologize for not specifying that this weekend meant tomorrow. I was planning on telling you yesterday, but since you had a tiff with Mr. Collins-”

“I know, I know. I’ll be sure we’re ready in the morning.” Enid’s mood soured quickly, “Have a good day.” She shut the door behind her.

“Mama?” Wednesday asked, after feeling the hold on her tighten. “You otay?”

“Yeah, baby girl.” Enid rubbed a hand down her back. “Just gotta figure it out tomorrow.”

“Mm.”

Walking down the halls, they made their way to the after school meeting that Enid needed to attend.

“Who brought the doom and gloom?” The club leader asked, staring at Wednesday sitting at a desk. “This is a meeting for members only . Get outta here, Addams.”

“No way.” Wednesday crossed her arms. Enid left for a moment to use the restroom. She would be back shortly. “Auntie Weems said I can stay.” She stuck her tongue out.

“Auntie who now?” He raised an eyebrow before waving her off, “Doesn’t matter, just get out.

“Nope!”

The door to the classroom opened, revealing the blonde hair of Enid. She came in talking to another club member, before turning her head to the commotion.

“Leave! I can’t believe-”

“Can't believe what, Jason?” Enid asked as she picked up Wednesday to sit on her lap. She wrapped her arms around the little, who pressed further into the wolf girl.

“...Nothing. Let’s get this session started.”

“Don’t mind him, Willa. He’s a big dumb stoner.” Enid whispered, making the goth giggle.

After the club finished going over their agenda for the meeting, they paired up to go around the school. Taking photos of anything interesting was a part of making the school news.

“Go stand over there!” Enid told her partner, Wednesday was following them around not really paying attention to where she was walking.

“Here?” The girl asked as she posed. Enid nodded, snapping the photo. “Did you get a good shot?”

“Yup! Now,” She grabbed Wednesday’s hand, “Can you take one with me and her?”

Wednesday just tilted her head but followed the blonde to the fountain in the quad. The girl that was partnered with Enid took the camera.

Enid put the little on her lap, placing her hands on her shoulders. “Smile, Willa! It’s gonna be so cute.”

“Say cheese!”

Cheese!”

“Perfect! You guy’s look so cute together.”

When they got back to their dorm it was already four thirty, and Wednesday was definitely feeling her headache now.

“Mama…” Wednesday whined as she flopped onto the floor, covering her eyes with her arm. Thing had laid out a blanket while waiting for them to show back up. “Head hurty!”

“Oh shoot, I forgot about that. I’m so sorry, baby.” Enid quickly turned off the main light in the room, only keeping the fairy lights on. She went through her drawers finding the headache medicine along with the allergy medication. “Here, take these, you'll feel much better.”

Wednesday rolled onto her side, looking up at Enid before closing her eyes again. The caregiver sighed, unsure on how to get the girl to take the pills. Wednesday groaned again, kicking her legs in frustration.

“Sit up, so you can take these. I promise your headache will go away.”

“Noooo.”

Thing tapped Enid on the shoulder, signing. Wednesday didn’t complain this morning with any medicine, but they just assumed her headache was pretty bad.

“Okay, she’s not gonna bite me is she?” Thing signed ‘No’ before taking the pills from her.

Enid took a deep breath before wrapping the blanket Wednesday was laying on around her. Wednesday opened her eyes when she felt herself being sat up and hugged. “Now, open up wide.”

When Wednesday pressed her lips shut, Enid sighed. “Thing?”

The disembodied hand hopped up and pushed the pills in one at a time. Wednesday shook her head side to side, trying to undo the blanket burrito she was in. Unfortunately for her, Enid was a werewolf and therefore had werewolf strength.

“Why are you being difficult? You took them earlier!” Enid moved to wrap her legs around Wednesday’s waist.

“Bah!” Wednesday spit two of them out. Thing quickly put them in her mouth again, putting his hand on her mouth.

“Swallow them please, then we can go get dinner.” Enid pleaded, she felt horrible holding the girl down but in caregiver class they said it would be necessary sometimes. “Are you sure we should be doing it like this?”

“It’s okay, she needs this sometimes. Tough love.” Thing signed after he jumped down and was certain she swallowed them.

Wednesday stopped moving and leaned back huffing. Enid loosened her grip in place for a light hug. The goth turned around, still in the blanket and flopped onto the blonde’s shoulder.

“You’ll feel better soon, promise.”

“Mmm.” Wednesday rubbed her face against Enid’s neck, sighing. “Bored.”

“Well, maybe don’t nap all day.” Enid laughed lightly, “You wouldn’t be so awake right now.”

“But I was tired…” The goth whined. Thing scurried off to find a toy that Wednesday would use for more than five minutes.

Enid hummed, “Understandable. Yoko said you will probably feel icky.”

The soft plush the hand brought over made Wednesday lookup. “Mine?” Enid glanced down and nodded. “Yes…”

Taking it in her hands, the goth pulled on the head and it came apart with a scritch noise. There was a giggle before Wednesday pulled at the other limbs. Enid rolled her eyes but was glad the little found entertainment.

Once everything was separated from the torso, Wednesday threw the doll to the floor. Thing took it and restuck the pieces back together.

“Huh?”

“Oh. It's velcro!” Enid explained, “That way you can have fun over and over again!”

“Okay!” Wednesday laughed, picking it back up again.

She played with Thing for a few hours with different toys until her stomach rumbled. Wednesday looked up at Enid who moved to her desk to study.

“Mama?” Wednesday stood up, holding her hands out to the side. “Belly made a noise!”

Enid put her pencil down and smiled, “That means you’re hungry. Do you wanna get dinner?”

Wednesday toddled over to her, falling into her lap. “Yeah! Can I have waffles?”

“No, but you can have those at breakfast. How about fish?” Enid asked as she stood up and stretched. Wednesday quickly took her seat, kicking her legs under the chair.

“Gross.”

“Steak?”

“Nope!”

“Um, pasta?”

Wednesday put a hand under her chin, thinking before she nodded. “But I only want butter on it.”

“Okay, fine. But you need to put your shoes on. No more running around Nevermore with no foot protection.”

“I don’t wanna though…” Wednesday groaned but got up to put them on anyway. “Help?”

Enid rolled her eyes but bent down to tie the goth’s laces. “Ready?”

Wednesday picked up the velcro doll and grabbed onto Enid’s shirt. “Mm hmm.”

“You are just so cute.” Enid squealed, rubbing the top of Wednesday’s head. “How are you feeling? Is your headache gone?”

“Mm hmm. All gone!” Wednesday leaned against the blonde’s shoulder. “Food time!”

Laughing, the werewolf pushed open the doors to the quad. “Is this your new favorite thing to do? You hardly ate before.”

The little shrugged, not willing to admit yet that being fed was the new variable she liked about it . Walking to the food table, Wednesday followed Enid close behind not giving any breathing room.

“You’re being clingy. What’s wrong?” The teen asked as she was bumped into by Wednesday. “Are you paying attention or just following me?”

“Hmm both.”

“Could have fooled me, baby girl.” Enid turned back around, picking up the tongs for the pasta tin. “How much do you want?”

“Dunno.”

“Okay, but you have to eat what I give you.” Enid put a few scoops onto her plate, moving it to her arm. She grabbed some for herself, but not as much because she wanted other food. “This good?”

Wednesday nodded, eyeing it carefully. “Only butter.”

“I know, Willa. Go sit down, I’ll take care of the rest.” Enid pointed to the table where Divina and Yoko sat. Wednesday looked between her and them. “Go on, I’m watching.”

“But-”

“I can’t have you bumping into me, alright? Now go sit down, please? For me?”

“Bu- Fine.” She pouted, stomping over to the stone table. Sitting down harshly, Wednesday crossed her arms. “Stupid.”

“Hello to you too.” Yoko waved, sipping her bag. “What’s got your padding in a bunch?”

Wednesday raised an eyebrow, “Mama told me to sit here. But I wanna be with Mama.”

Yoko smirked, “Sounds about right. Doesn’t it, Dee Dee?”

Said siren was laying across Yoko’s lap like she was the morning before. This time sipping a juice box. “Mommy likes it when I cuddle though.”

“Does that mean Mama doesn’t like cuddles?” Wednesday’s eyes widened. “I thought she would like them…”

“And I do like them, Willa.” Enid smiled, placing their plates down and pulling her little in for a side hug. “Divina is just teasing you.”

“Do you like the cuddles?” Yoko asked Wednesday who cocked her. “You’re not a very touchable person, normally.”

Wednesday shrugged, “I dunno… The voice in my head says it would make me feel gooder and it does so…”

“Voice?” Enid asked, concerned and curious. “Is it like scary or something?” Wednesday shook her head, not sure if she should have said something about it. “Then what is it?”

“Dunno, but she said she’s me, and has been trying to help me?” Wednesday took a bite of her pasta. The cloudiness that was in her head cleared bit by bit. “I watch a lot though.”

Divina nodded in understanding, “I got one too, or had one, I think. When I first got classified.”

Yoko stared down at her, “You did?”

“Mm hmm. Although it would tell me what needed to be done, to make me feel better.” The siren told them, “Otherwise I couldn’t move, and would get dizzy all the time.”

“So it’s a little thing, got it.” Enid chewed on her own pasta. “It’s a weird thing to say out loud, though.”

Wednesday kept eyeing the werewolf from her seat. She was back for the time being, but she wanted to be fed. She dropped her fork on the dirt purposely.

“Oops.” Wednesday said monotonously.

“Wednesday, you okay?” Enid asked, looking over at her charge. She took note of Wednesday looking at her fork on the floor, but not doing anything. “I can get you a new fork-”

“That will not be needed, you have one right here. And you fed me with the same one before so…”

“Oh, I see what's going on.” Enid scooped up a bite of pasta. “Open wide.”

“If you are offering.” Wednesday shrugged, opening her mouth. Enid smiled happily as the goth bit down around the utensil.

“Are we still down for the bonfire tonight?” Yoko asked as she wiped Divina’s face.

Enid smacked her forehead, “My calendar has been acting up, ugh! I completely forgot.”

“Understandable haha, and parents' weekend starts tomorrow so that's gonna be something.” Enid groaned at that. “What’s wrong with parents' weekend?”

You know what’s wrong with it! My mother is gonna be here.” Enid bit into her burger harshly. “She already has an issue with this -” She gestured to herself and Wednesday.

“I can do something about that, if you want.” Wednesday sipped out of her cup carefully, holding it with two hands. Putting it down, she wiped with the back of her hand, “I have an arsenal of things at my disposal.”

“You did have a- Oh crap-” Enid fell off the bench when Wednesday pushed her. “I should not have reminded you about that.”

“Maybe, if you were smart, you wouldn't take my weapons away and we wouldn’t have this problem.” Wednesday rolled her eyes as Enid sat up and got back on the bench. “Anyway, I do have other ways, my family is coming too after all.”

Yoko laughed, “You definitely are a perfect match.”

Enid growled, “Well if I could keep them with you I would, but baby you isn’t the most coordinated.”

Wednesday growled back, picking up her cup again. She tipped it sideways, spilling it on the blonde. “Oops. Sorry.”

“Wednesday!” Enid gasped, wiping the water with a napkin.

Shrugging, Wednesday put her hands up. “Sorry, I’m not coordinated, can’t let me have a cup without a lid.” The small twitch of her mouth, threatening a smile, pulled at her face.

The pair across from them were weezing, silent laughter at the interactions.

“Oh my god, I’m sorry, okay? I was told in class to keep all sharp objects away from Littles.”

Wednesday rolled her eyes, picking up a fistfull of pasta. “I’m an Addams, that should not apply to me.” She shoved as much as she could in her mouth, most dropping down her shirt. Looking down, she shrugged. She ate that way for a while till her plate was empty, most landing on her lap.

“You just wanna make me work, don’t you?” Enid groaned. Wednesday glanced sideways.

“Actually, I want to distract you from thinking about tomorrow but ya know…” Wednesday thought, not wanting the werewolf to feel stressed out by thinking about her family. Blowing her bangs from her eyes, she wiped her face on Enid’s shoulder.

“You did not just put butter in my sweater!” Enid shrieked, the stain on her shoulder prominently showing.

The goth smiled widely, a gleam in her eyes. Divina and Yoko took that as a sign to leave before they witnessed murder.

“See ya!” Yoko grabbed the siren, “Meet you for breakfast tomorrow in the field!”

“Bye!” Divina waved as the vampire rushed them away.

Enid was still staring at the soon to be stain. “Wed-What- Why would you do this?!”

“Dunno. The voice told me to.” Wednesday wiped her hands on Enid’s sweater to get rid of the slick feeling of the butter. Enid almost fell back again, thankfully Wednesday grabbed a fist full of her clothing before she could.

“Ugh, tell that voice to shut up! Do you know how long this took to come in?!” Enid groaned, laying her head on the table. This was really bumming her out, Wednesday knows how much she wore that thing. “This is so gross…”

“It’s just butter.” Wednesday told her nonchalantly.

“Come help clean up, Sinclair!” Edwin called across from the other table. Enid rolled her eyes, standing up she took a deep breath.

“This isn’t over, Wednesday.” Enid rushed to the boy, picking up the plates at the table.

Wednesday smirked once Enid’s back was to her. Dusting herself off, she allowed the pasta on her lap to fall to the grass and dirt.

Chapter 6: Parents Weekend Part 1

Chapter Text

“Don’t fight me on this, please.” Enid yawned, it was still night outside and Wednesday had woken her up indirectly.  She shuffled over to the goth who was still curled around her stuffed animal, “Wake up, baby. You need to be changed, I can smell you from across the room.”

Wednesday slowly blinked and blushed when she registered what was being said. She was glad it was dark in the room and got off her bed to lay down flat on the floor. “It coulda waited till da morning.”

Enid huffed and pulled out the changing supplies. “No way. It would be so gross, totally not happening.”

“Fine.” She yawned too tired to argue with her.

Soon she was clean and sleeping in her caregivers bed. Enid sighed and pulled her little towards her, too anxious about the morning to sleep right away. She didn’t know when she fell back to sleep but it didn’t feel long enough.

~~~~~~~
“I don’t wanna…” Enid groaned as Wednesday walked ahead of her. The goth had gotten up before the blonde, having gotten ready with the help of Thing. Enid had to fight her into another clean diaper only moments before.
“We need to get to the yard before my parents.” Wednesday all but dragged Enid out of bed this morning and was bouncing on the balls of her feet. “I want to see them, come on. ”
“Yeah but my parents are there too…” Enid muttered, grabbing onto Wednesday’s hand to slow her down. Wednesday slowed down at that comment.
“Oh, that’s right.” The raven haired girl stopped. “We can go ba-”
Enid shook her head, “No, it has to be done sooner or later. Just that sooner came well, too soon.”
Wednesday rushed forward, going through the doorway. She only stopped short when she realized they were some of the first to show up.
“Where is everyone?” Wednesday looked around only to roll her eyes when Bianca waved at her.
Enid laughed, bringing her in for a hug. “It’s still way early, Willa.”
“Oh.” The goth girl lamented, pulling away from the wolf girl. “When does it start then?”
“In forty minutes.”
“Oh.” She said again, deciding to lay down on the grass. Wednesday looked up at the clouds going by slowly.
“Are you hungry?” Enid crouched down, looking at her little. “I can grab you a muffin before they get taken, and a waffle since you wanted one last night.”
“And tea?” Wednesday turned her head sideways, the grass tickling her cheek. Enid nodded, “In a bottle?”
“If that’s what you want? It might be too hot though…”
Wednesday stared at her hopefully. The blonde sighed and stood up.
“I’ll be back soon, get Thing to grab me if you need anything, okay?” Enid told her before running off.
Closing her eyes, Wednesday’s breathing evened out, soon falling into a light slumber. Thing sat besides Wednesday reading a magazine.
After a few minutes Thing felt vibrations coming from the ground. They soon stopped in front of his fingers, a pair of furry boots nearly stepping on them.
“Mama?” Wednesday peaked open her eyes, only to frown when she saw the salt and pepper hair of Esther Sinclair. “Oh… Hello?”
“Addams, I presume?” The wolf woman glared down at the dark haired little. Wednesday stood up and crossed her arms, forcing the fog away as much as she could. It was starting to make a more prominent appearance while she rested, but now is not the time.
“Good to know I carry some weight to my family name.” Wednesday looked over to Thing who climbed her shoulder. “And you are?”
Esther scoffed, a small growl leaving her throat. “Of course she never spoke about me.”
“Who?”
“Mom!” Enid shouted, rushing urgently towards the pair with two trays. “Get away from her!”
Wednesday and Esther both turned their heads toward the blonde. Soon Enid was between the two before anything could happen.
“Ah, this is your birth giver.” Wednesday cocked her to the side. The wide eyes and blank face the goth gave the woman made her step back.
“Wednesday, meet my mom. Mom, meet Wednesday.” Enid growled out the last part, handing Wednesday a tray. “Why are you here so early?”
“I thought you would be ecstatic about an early arrival.” Esther said with a tight smile. “Besides, I wanted to see how my girl was doing, what’s so wrong with that?”
Wednesday gripped her tray as she watched the interaction.
“Nothing is wrong with that, mom.” Enid smiled tightly back. “I just figured you would be coming later with the rest of the parents…”
“You need to leave.” Wednesday told her steadily, holding a sharp gaze to the woman. “You do not deserve to step foot near Enid.”
Esther scoffed, rolling her eyes, a sneer pulling at her face. “Who do you think you are, Addams? You do not get to talk to me like that, you insufferable child . I can talk and see Enid as I please”
Stepping around Enid, Wednesday tossed her tray down, thankfully the contents not spilling off of it.
“Both of you stop!” Enid forced herself between the two again. “You’re acting like a child!”
Wednesday stopped her advance, tilting her head again. Esther blinked at her, unsure how to respond.
“Uh…” Wednesday pointed to herself, confused at who Enid was speaking to. “Me?”
“Her?” Esther pointed at the teen, “It is expected after all- She is a lit-
“No, you are, mom!” Enid yelled, standing up straight. The blonde reached behind herself and grabbed Wednesday’s cold hand. “You are being so rude to her!”
“Rude? Rude?” Esther blanched, stepping back to stare at Enid. “She doesn’t even deserve a hello to begin with!”
Before anyone else could respond, a hand with red fingernails pressed down roughly on the woman's shoulder. The gray haired woman turned her head to glare at the perpetrator but quickly submitted to them.
“Good morning!” Morticia smiled, “Long time no see, Sinclair. How is the family?”
Gomez was pressed against her back with his arms looped around her waist, winking at the two teens. Pusgley already got his hands on Wednesday’s muffin.
“H-Hello, Mrs.Addam… The family is great- Speaking of, I must go join them-” She pointed in the direction of the small group of rough housing people.
“Do not let me keep you, dear.” Morticia removed her hand, watching as the frightened woman rushed away. Turning her attention to the two teens, her smile became more genuine.  “My darling storm cloud.”
The short man behind her made his way to the gothic teen. The teen stepped to the side and watched as the round man stumbled past but didn’t fall.
“Mother. Father.” She side-eyed her brother eating her food, “Pugsley, that is mine.” Pugsley shrugged and kept eating. Wednesday’s shoulders slouched slightly, unsure of what to say to them. “Hello.”
She was buzzing with excitement only an hour prior but now that the wolf woman ruined her mood she just wanted to go back to her room with Enid.
“Would you like to get breakfast?” Her father suggested, wrapping his arm around the small teen, “You are invited too, Madre Lupa . Unless you rather eat with your family, that is.”
Enid blushed at the nickname, and looked at the Addams family. “I would rather be with Wednesday in all honesty…”
“Perfect!” Pugsley dragged his sister into a hug, who quickly jabbed him in the side with her elbow. “Oof-”
“Do not touch me. ” Wednesday sneered at them, the itch in her brain was coming back and she really didn’t want them to see her like that.
“Boys, hands off of Wednesday. She's still going through her classification days. She may not feel a hundred percent quite yet.” Morticia chided lightly, joining her husband's side again. “Let’s go get some food then we can go and see Larissa, hmm?”
The group agreed and made their ways to the tables that were set up in the yard. Enid already had her food, but because Pugsley decided to eat Wednesday’s food, she had to get her another muffin.
“Join mama. She is feeling sad…” The voice supplied her, Wednesday shrugged and wrapped her arms around Enid who jumped. “Make her feel better… Her family is mean.”
“Wednesday. I need my arms, please.” Enid whispered to the goth who let go only for a moment to allow her to move her arms out of the way. “Thank you, now do you still want a muffin?”
“Mm.” Wednesday confirmed, “Tea too.”
“You have tea on the tray in our spot, baby.” Enid grabbed a plate and put two more muffins on the plate. She was sure the waffle was already being consumed by ants.
“Is cold doe.” Wednesday whined, rubbing her face into Enid’s shoulder blade. Her family is not far behind watching with fondness.
Morticia walked up to Wednesday, leaning down slightly to look her daughter in the eyes. “Darling, would you like to come sit with us for a bit while Enid makes you a new plate?” As soon as their eyes met, the goth looked down to the ground, grabbing onto the wolf tighter. “Awe, my heart aches for my offspring to give me attention like this again.” She started dramatically, hoping for a reaction from the raven, “Oh woes me-”
“You don’t have a heart, mother…” Wednesday has let go of Enid, rushing for the tall Addams. She hugged her mother tightly, mumbling random terms of endearment to her. The fog had returned.
“There’s my petit raven.” Morticia ran a hand down her daughter’s back, who rubbed her face into her mother’s stomach. “Come, let’s rest over on the bench.”
“Uppies…” Wednesday told her, leaning heavily onto the woman.
“As much as I would love to pick you up, baby girl, you are too big for me to carry.” Morticia knew her limits, especially when her child was no longer super small in size. Wednesday whined, rubbing her face against her again. “You can walk just fine for a few yards.”
Soon she guided the goth over to the benches, pulling her onto her lap. Wednesday was facing her, laying her head down on Morticia’s shoulder. Gomez soon followed with Pugsley holding their own trays of food.
“Is she okay?” Pugsley sat down at the table next to the cuddling pair. “She's super touchy right now. I thought we weren't supposed to touch her.”
Gomez laughed as he sat on the other side of the pair. “She was always clingy when she was a baby, ha. She’s our little scorpion after all.”
“Mm.” Wednesday mewed, hiding her red face further. “No cingy.”
“Whatever you say, darling.” She rocked the little sideways, waiting for Enid to come back to them. At this rate, the original plate and bottle was abandoned in the field. “How are you feeling?”
Wednesday was quiet, watching Enid make her plate again . She was already scheming against the Sinclair family.
“Don’t even think about it.” Morticia warned her as she patted the girl’s back lightly. Wednesday leaned away to look at her, “We don’t want another war with them right now. Unfortunately they did gain enough wealth and connections over the years to be a challenge.”
“Stupid.” Wednesday rolled her eyes, turning around in her mothers lap to have her back against the woman’s front. “Hate dem.”
“Ouch, Wednesday, that is still my family.” Enid playfully said as she placed the replacement breakfast down.Wednesday quickly scrambled off one lap into the other as soon as she could. “I’m sorry my mom was rude, I swear she thinks she’s queen bee in the fam.”
Wednesday ignored her comment, wanting to just eat and spend time with her family.
“It’s alright, Wednesday can handle her own. If I didn’t step in when I did, your mother may have been hospitalized.” Morticia explained while gracefully picking up her fork pointing it at the girls. She took the plate that Enid brought for her daughter.
Wednesday grumbled, opening her mouth to grab the offered food. Enid took a bite of her own food as Morticia took over the job of feeding the goth without asking.
“So what do you have planned for parents ' weekend?” Gomez asked Enid. The man smiled happily, being in a good mood. “Because if you want to join us, we are going fishing.”
Enid looked over at her pack across the field. “I would like to join you, but my family would kill me if I ditched them.”
“Mama come too!” Wednesday kicked at her leg. “My family bedder.”
Pugsley chuckled, “I would be inclined to agree. Come fish with us, Enid. I brought extra ammo.”
“Ammo?!”
The boy nodded, “Duh, that’s the only way to do it.”
Enid sighed, taking a sip from her glass. “I have to discuss with my mother and father about the arrangements for when we’re off campus.”
“We would love for you to stay with us, if that is what you want that is?” Morticia offered, while wiping Wednesday’s face. The little struggled in the wolf's lap moving her shaking her head to get away from the napkin.
“Well, would you like to go see Weems now?” Gomez stood up, leaving his plate on the table.
“You guys go ahead, I have to deal with my mother.” Enid gently picked up the goth and handed her to Gomez who struggled for a bit, but was soon hiking her on his hip.
“No!” Wednesday reached out for Enid who looked at her sadly.
“I’ll be right back, baby.” Enid caressed her face, “Have fun with your family, I’ll see you soon.”
Wednesday tried to wiggle out of her father’s grip but he held her back. “How about we kill a little time and wait for your Maman, huh? ”
Huffing the Addams girl looped her arms around his neck. “Nowhere wifout her.”
“And we’ll wait, my little storm cloud.” Gomez comforted her, “Maybe a nap would do you good, hm?”
“No.” Wednesday stuck her thumb in her mouth, wishing she had her pacifier. “Wait fo Mama.”
“And we will, darling.” Morticia reminded her. “A nap will make it go faster I promise. We’ll find a nice and gloomy spot over in the woods and lay down as a family for a bit, okay?”
The small boy looked around excitedly while watching his sister think it over. “If it makes you feel better, Thing is getting something from your room for you right now.”
Gomez started walking toward the edge of the woods, looking for a spot not too far from the field the activities were being held in. Wednesday sighed in defeat, having gotten up earlier to get ready and being woken up in the middle of the night didn’t help her sleep schedule.
Soon Thing came rushing up to them with a tote bag of stuff. Pugsley took it and put the hand on his shoulder. Pulling out his phone, he texted Enid that they were going into the woods for a family nap. Enid texted back a thumbs up and he put his phone away.
Enid Interaction
“I don’t wanna leave but I need to get this over with away from her.” Enid thought as she wiped her hands against her skirt. She sighed as her mothers head snapped towards her. Before she approached her phone dinged with a text notification. She smiled, the Addams are a strange bunch. She replied back with a thumbs up and pocketed her phone.
“Look who finally decided to join us!” Esther sarcastically called out. The teen boys laughed and howled as they chased each other around. “Did the Addams finally get fed up with your presence?”
Enid growled but quickly silenced it after a glare from her mother. She swallowed harshly, sitting on the log that the woman pointed to. Her father is sitting not too far away, watching quietly.
“You know what I’m going to say about this, right?” Esther stared at her, and once she gave a nod the older woman sighed. “It’s already bad that you are a caregiver classification. But it could have worked out within the werewolf community eventually . But no, you have to get bonded to an Addams! Who would have thought an Addams would have been classified as a Little? Certainly not me or your father.”
Glancing over to the man, Murray shrugged, going back to staring at the boy's rough housing.
“It truly is a shame. She was such a smart girl from what you told me, being dumbed down to an intelligent infant.” Esther waved her hands around as she spoke. Unaware or not caring for her daughter’s rising anger. “You could have been with a nice werewolf little if you had just given me a chance. Since you transformed on a blood moon I have so many families reaching out to pair their child with you-”
Standing up, Enid stared down at her mother. “You know that’s not how it works. It wouldn’t have worked if you paired me with any of them. I’m not a bargaining chip to make the family look better. Stop offering me out to other packs-” She took a deep breath, calming down a bit,  “Know what- I’m getting off track, I want to make this fast. I came over here to tell you I’ll be staying with the Addams over spring break.”
Esther stood up herself, the anger on her face made Enid smirk a little. “Wipe that look off your mouth right now, missy! You are my responsibility for another year, so you will be coming home for any outside of school break.”
“Actually six months but who's counting?” Enid played with her nails, “And I will be staying with them. This is not a request. You would not allow Wednesday to step foot into our home, therefore I’m going where we are both welcome.”
“How dare you speak to me like that!” Esther raised her hand and brought it across Enid’s face. The resounding smack made everyone stop and stare at the pair.
Enid stared at her and cracked a smug look. Then she giggled, soon the giggle turned into a laugh. Esther took another step forward, baring her fangs at her daughter.
“What is so funny, huh?” The woman growled, she raised her hand to smack the girl again but was stopped by her father. Snapping her head to the culprit, she growled at him next. “Do not intervene.”
“Do not hit our daughter.”
Enid stepped back, “Wow. That was the closest to any affection you’ve shown me in years.” She held her cheek as she watched her two parents stare at her with different expressions.
“Enid-”
“No. You can’t say anything now. Not after it gets violent . I could turn around right now and never talk to you again. My tuition is paid for for the next school year after all. I could just keep coming here and never contact you.” Enid shrugged, “Or I could move in with the Addams, since now I can’t leave Wednesday’s side for the foreseeable future. And they have a huge mansion from what I was told by her and Pugsley.”
Esther was seething, rushing forward towards the teen. She grabbed her by her colorful sweater but was pushed back. Enid’s eyes glew bright blue for a brief moment, making her mother back down.
Don’t touch me. ” Enid growled watching as both her parents fell to the grass. “I just wanted to inform you. See you later.” With that she turned around and walked off towards the direction she could smell Wednesday.
Soon she found them in a pile in the shady part of the forest not too far from the entrance. Wednesday lay across her parents, where Gomez was running his fingers through her hair, braids undone. Her mother rubbed her back soothingly with her free hand. Pugsley and Thing not too far away whittling a spear for fishing she assumed.
Stepping, she snapped a twig under her food making the families heads turn to her. Enid rubbed the back of her head, embarrassed about the sudden attention.
“How did the talk go with your mother, Lupa?” Gomez asked as he adjusted his hold on his dozing daughter. “Did you get all of your affairs in order?”
“You could say that.” Enid placed her hand to her sting cheek, now that her adrenalin is wearing off. “I’m going to join you guys if it's okay, that is.”
Morticia gave her a smile, “Of course, child. Any friend of our daughter is a friend of ours.”
“Technically, she’s family now.” Pugsley butted in, “She’s bonded to Wednesday.”
Gomez laughed heartily, making the raven girl stir from her nap with a growl. “That’s correct! Now you can’t get rid of us that easily.”
“Mama stays…” Wednesday muttered as she stood up and made her way to Enid. Once getting closer, she noticed the red hand print. A spike of anger ran through the Addams girl, sobering her for a brief moment. Reaching a hand up to the blonde teen's face, she glared in the Sinclair family's direction. “Hurt?”
“It’s nothing, Willa. Promise.” Enid grabbed Wednesday’s hand in reciprocation. Wednesday turned around, allowing Enid to keep her hold. “What are you doing?”
The family was all standing with a different set of weapons or bombs in hand. Enid gasped as they took a step forward, even Thing held onto a silver hunter's knife.
“No way! You can’t do that because of a slap!” Enid panicked, “C’mon, Willa. Call them off, please?”
Wednesday tilted her head, deciding to stick her free thumb in her mouth. Shaking her head side to side with a sharp exhale, the Addams clan lowered their arms.
“Thank you.”
“She should be drawn and quartered-” Gomez began loudly, “How dare she lay a hand on her own flesh and blood out of malice?!”
“I thought you would be all for maiming and gore?” Enid asked as she pulled Wednesday into her.
“Oh no, you have us wrong.” Morticia shook her head, “You see, we Addams only do the things we do for fun and training. We never intend on harming our own out of hate or discipline!”
Pugsley agreed, “Yeah, me and my sister only play with sharp weapons for fun. Like surviving till dinner is one of our favorites.” Enid raised an eyebrow, “We have to try and get eachother with an ax or sword before dinner is called. We have free reign of the ground at home till then.” Wednesday nodded, smiling behind her thumb.
“So you don’t try to kill each other everyday?”
The family shook their heads simultaneously before Gomez piped up again.
“Addams family curse and all, too much to go into right now. Impossible to kill each other due to it.” He waved his hand with the small dagger, accidentally nicking Pugsley who was not paying attention. Pugsley looked down at the trickle of blood and smirked, “Oops, sorry my boy.”
Wednesday giggled, rubbing her head against Enid’s shirt. The werewolf looked down, hugging the girl tighter.
“How about some fishing?” Pugsley chimed in, holding TNT in his hand.
“Yeah!” Wednesday cheered, breaking free from Enid and rushing up to her brother. “Let’s go! Let’s go!”
The family laughed making their way further into the woods.
Tossing the explosives into the water many fish rose to the surface. Enid was surprised she was enjoying the explosive fishing. She would have never thought of doing something like this .
“That’s where you are, Addams.” Weems called out as she stumbled through the bramble in her heels. “I’m not in the correct attire for a trek in the foliage.”
Wednesday grinned as she tossed another stick in, waiting for the explosion to blast water high above. Larissa didn’t realize until it was too late that the occupants of the area were soaked to the bone. Once the water from the explosion rained down on them, the shapeshifter gasped in shock. Her expensive pants suit getting twigs and mud on it as the water falls.
“Hello, Larissa.” Morticia waved, Gomez sitting next to her, watching his children have fun. “We were going to visit after this.”
Larissa grimaced but moved towards the group. “Glad to see some things never change.” She glanced sideways to watch the teens continue to toss grenades and dynomite into the lake. “I’m assuming they spoke to you about their arrangements for the fall break?”
“Not necessarily the fall break, just breaks in general.” Morticia told her as she looked over to them as well, “You may want to do something about her mother.”
“Oh? Why?”
“Look at her cheek. She went to speak to her mother and came back with a mark.” Gomez pointed out, “She had Wednesday call us off, but I have something ready and available at the next assault.”
Chapter 7: Someone says Bravo
Summary:
Wednesday fences with Gomez. A mysterious man makes an appearance.
Chapter Text
After finding the group, the tall woman had them join her in her office. Larissa opened the door with her key, holding open it for the Addams.
"Make yourselves comfortable. I’ll go put on the tea." Larissa pointed to a door behind her as the family sat down on the various seats.
Wednesday decided to sprawl across Enid’s lap, hair spilling onto her brother. Gomez and Morticia watched them fondly. The goth girl rubbed her cheek against Enid’s belly while Pugsley played with her loose hair, braiding it as he went. Weems smiled as she walked out of the room into her on grounds apartment.
Cooing, Wednesday reached a hand to grab Enid’s sweater. Looking down, the wolf smiled softly as the family aw’d at the pair.
"Hopefully, Wednesday hasn’t been too much trouble after coming back to school?"  Morticia asked Enid. "I just know how much she adores her investigations."
"Oh she’s just doing what she normally does." Enid shrugged, playing with Wednesday’s fringe. "Although, she still has yet to learn how to communicate what is bothering her. But we’re working on it, right baby?"
Wednesday giggled, nodding her head as Enid booped her nose. Taking the girl’s well manicured finger, she popped it into her mouth, sucking on the digit.
"Well that’s great to hear!" Gomez praised, holding his wife's hand, "Cara mia, she’s excelling more than we could have ever asked for."
"Thankfully that stalker stopped messaging her." Enid sighed as she took her free hand and traced circles into the girl’s sweater. "She wouldn’t even let me help! Like geez, how was I supposed to react when a dead owl came in through the window at three am?"
"Excited." All the Addams agreed in unison. Wednesday babbled around Enid’s finger the same way.
Larissa laughed as she walked back into her office, "I see you are getting along with Ms. Sinclair, here."
"Of course we are!" Gomez smiled widely, "She is such a great friend for our little storm cloud. We are elated that she is bonded with her!"
"Excellent, because I think she may need to join your family for extended breaks. Her family has already made it clear that Wednesday cannot join her." Weems explained as she poured the tea for everyone in the room.
Morticia took it gratefully, smelling the mint coming from the leaf water. "My favorite, how do you remember after all these years?"
Larissa just sits down and pulls out a file before turning to Enid. "You are excused from cleaning duties for the time due to it being parents' weekend. But Monday, you shall resume your duties." When Enid nodded, Weems looked back towards the parents. "This is Wednesday’s file-"
"Our little tormenta is so busy here!" Gomez gushed over the thick file. "What horrendous things did she do in the span of a semester and a half?"
Rolling her eyes, Larissa opened the stack to the middle. "She has insulted many teachers, students and faculties. Set fire to the shed that one of our student’s uses for recreational activities, and snuck off campus without permission on multiple occasions." She flipped through multiple reports and pages. "That is to just name a few."
"Is that so?" Morticia hummed while taking a sip of her tea, "That is child’s play compared to what she could be doing."
"I could do worse." Wednesday mumbled into Enid’s belly. Enid tsked at her, sitting her up after Pugsley finished her hair.
"You will not, Miss Addams!"
"Meanie."
Weems sighed, flipping through her file finding a certain page. Pulling it out she handed it to her parents.
"This is a written statement from one student who said she threatened to curse them. Fortunately we were able to confiscate the tools Wednesday had to do so. But she does have a hefty track record for the semester and a half she’s been here."
"We would expect nothing less." Morticia smiled, placing her tea cup down on the small table. "Is there anything else we need to be informed of?"
Going through a few more pages, the woman shook her head. "Nothing that you do not already know. Or for me to sound like a broken record."
The knock on the office door interrupted the conference. Larissa stood up and made her way to the large door.
"Yes?"
"We’re here to discuss our children?" Esther and Murray stood outside, their boys standing near them.
"Give me a few minutes and I will call your family in. Go ahead and sit down in the chairs." Larissa smiled tightly, gesturing towards the chairs. Once the family got situated, she shut the door.
Enid frowned, having only one other option out of the room without passing her family. She stared behind the headmistress's desk, well aware of the secondary exit through the apartment.
"Sorry about that, where were we?" Larissa sat down in her chair again.
Morticia and Gomez were frowning at the door, the rest of the family’s mood changed, making Weems uncomfortable.
"Well…" The shapeshifter cleared her throat. "I can see you are all anxious to spend time together, how about we end our meeting a little early?"
Wednesday was quick to rush to the door but Enid grabbed her by the waist.
"No no, we’re leaving the back way, baby." Enid looked pleadingly at the headmistress who nodded, pointing behind her towards her quarters. Letting out a sigh, she propped the girl on her hip and made their way into the apartment. The rest of the Addams walked out the main door.
Wednesday looked around the new environment curiously. The pair hurried through the living quarters, only pausing momentarily to view the nursery that had the door propped open. The room was not as big as a dorm room but it was decently sized, furnished to the nines.
The goth pushed her head into Enid's shoulder, shielding her eyes. She did not want to be in that bright hell. Enid rubbed her back, temporarily stopping to open the door leading to the outside of the school.
Once outside, the girl’s squinted at the high sun in the sky. They were going to go back to their room for a bit, until the family finished their business. And Wednesday needed a change, so it's a win-win.
When they got to the dorm, Yoko had Divina on Enid’s bed while the vampire put on the rails to Wednesday’s.
"Hey girl!" Yoko waved with a toothy smile, "I got some guards for your girl’s bed."
"Thanks, I totally forgot about that. You’re a lifesaver, Yoko." Enid said as she put Wednesday down on her colorful bed. Divina waved at her before going back to playing with the blue elephant plush. "You are the best friend I could have ever asked for."
"You’re welcome, pup. I figured you would be too stressed with your family around." The vampire hugged the werewolf, "How is that going, by the way? Did the Addams try to take you and your family on yet?"
Enid shook her head and laughed, "No but my mother was the bitch she always is. Morticia came in and scared her, ha!"
"Oh I wish I could have seen that!" Yoko laughed with Enid but was cut short by Divina crying. "Baby? What’s wrong?"
The siren was face down on the floor where she fell off the bed. Wednesday now had the elephant in her arms, holding it close to her chest.
Moving across the black tape, Yoko picked up her little. Helping Divina to her feet, she pulled the girl into her.
"Wednesday, you can’t do that!" Enid scolded, crossing onto her side of the room again. Walking over to the raven girl, she took the stuffed animal from her. "She had it first, you need to ask nicely if you want it."
"Technically I did have it first." Wednesday thought as she watched Enid walk away with it.
Divina sniffled as she rubbed her eyes. Yoko ran her fingers through the girl’s hair, trying to sooth her sad little. Enid handed the blue toy to the girl who immediately perked up.
Wednesday looked confused for a split second but was quickly angered when Divina stuck her tongue out. Before the goth could do anything, the door to their dorm room opened slowly.
"Is this a bad time?" Gomez asked as the family walked in, minus Pugsley. Thing was perched on Morticia’s shoulder, who had her arms wrapped around her husband. "Aw, our little scorpion is being adorable as always."
"Gomez, doesn't this make you nostalgic?" The dark woman smiled as she glided into the dorm. "My, this place is still as…" She looked towards Enid’s bed, Wednesday seething on top of the knitted blanket. " Colorful when I saw it last…"
Enid giggled, "Thank you! I do try."
Morticia walked over to Wednesday who was on the verge of murder and leaned down to meet her eyes.
"What’s got you upset, my little storm cloud?"
Wednesday pointed to the small collection of people. The blue elephant in her focused stare. Morticia nodded in understanding before sitting next to her. Pulling her daughter into her lap she wrapped her arms around her waist.
"You can just have it later, alright?" The woman whispered as she hugged the girl on her lap. Wednesday growled, earning a laugh from Gomez and a look from Enid. "Oh, I see Enid has been an amazing influence on you!"
"I would hope so. She’s going to be spending  a lot of time with her." Yoko smiled as she sat down on one of the floor pillows. Divina followed suit, still clutching the stuffie. "Although, her growling is new as far as I can tell."
"Are you around our daughter often, vampire?" Gomez questioned, sitting down next to his family.
Yoko shook her head, "No, but we do eat meals together and share a class. She is otherwise pretty secluded and well known for having no emotions."
Morticia and Gomez shared a look of adoration for Wednesday. The girl squirmed, wanting to get off of her mother’s lap and onto her Mama’s. Enid was getting the changing supplies out from their bathroom, so they kept the gothic little entertained.
"She’s always been reserved." Morticia told them, watching as Divina shook the stuffed animal around from her spot on the floor. Wednesday launched forward with more speed than her family has ever seen her move at. "What-"
"Willa!" Enid yelled as she dropped the changing supplies on the dark bed. Sprinting towards the girl who decided biting the siren was the way to go. "Spit her hand out of your mouth! Now!"
Wednesday stopped biting, but kept her teeth on Divina’s flesh. Enid reached down and picked Wednesday off the floor, making the little let go.
"W-Why would you do that?" Divina asked between sobs. The stuffed animal falling to the floor made Wednesday’s eyes follow. Yoko sighed, picking up her own little, "Mommy!"
"I’ll see you around, okay? I’m gonna get this one a t-r-e-a-t." Yoko spelled, moving towards the dorm door.
Enid waved while everyone else crowded around them. Wednesday tried to lean out of the wolf’s hold but was sadly mistaken when the arms wrapped against her got tighter.
"No! Bad!" Enid reprimanded, making Wednesday face her. Morticia and Gomez laughed at the face their daughter gave her caregiver. "We do not bite people. We use our words."
"That isn’t going to work on her, dear." Morticia butted in, standing next to the pair. "She needs a bit of a firmer punishment. Maybe put her in time out for a bit."
Wednesday’s eyes widened as she glanced outside the large circle window. Enid moved them over to her desk, taking the chair with her free hand. Thing helped to drag it to the corner of the room.
"Now then, I’m going to get you into a clean diaper and you are going to sit in the corner for ten minutes." Enid brought Wednesday to the dark bed, placing the foldable mat on it. Gomez and Morticia turned their backs to give privacy. "Hold still, otherwise I’ll add more time."
Wednesday huffed and turned her head to face her wall. When the cold air hit her, she flinched away. Enid held her down with a hand, quickly wiping her clean.
Wednesday’s face burned red. She didn’t like that her family was in the room during this.
"This is embarrassing."
"What’s with the face, Willa?" Enid asked as she pulled the front of the padding up. Wednesday had her nose scrunched up as she rolled her eyes. "How are you feeling?"
Gomez and Morticia laughed when an explosion rang throughout the school. Wednesday’s own sadistic smile soon joined them as Enid’s attention was pulled away.
"What was that?" Enid picked up Wednesday from the bed, propping her on her hip. "Wait- where is Pugsley?"
"He’ll be here soon." Wednesday giggled happily, wrapping her arms around Enid in an excited hug. Then she pouted, pulling herself towards the floor. "He’s having all the fun."
Morticia bent down and smiled, "Is my little storm cloud missing her brother?"
Wednesday looked back towards her mother, and nodded silently. The woman stood tall again, moving towards her husband. She whispered something to him and he cracked his own devious smile.
"Do you want to fence with me, mi tormenta ?" Gomez held his hand to the dark girl, who’s eyes widened in excitement. She quickly got up and allowed the man to pick her up. "Oh, how the days go by. I’ll send Thing to fetch your brother."
"Is this a good idea? What if she gets hurt?" Enid bit her nails nervously. She did not want Wednesday to hurt herself…
"She’ll be fine, dear loba. She’s a master of the sword." Gomez reassured the caregiver, making his way with Wednesday towards the dorm door.
"But she can’t just get away with hurting Divina either-"
"Let her have a bit of leeway today, hm? We only get to see her once a semester." Morticia asked politely. Enid looked between them, "I see you over thinking it. How about this, we put her in a timeout for five minutes and then we do some fencing?"
Wednesday whined, clinging onto the man harder. "No timeout."
"You need to be reprimanded, dear. You really can’t bite anyone outside the family." Gomez muttered, bending down till the girl’s bottom touched the floor. "Now be good for papa, okay? I promise we will fence in ten minutes."
"Five." The girl argued but her father gave a blank stare back. Thinking it over, Wednesday huffed, deciding to crawl to the corner, sitting down in the chair. She kept her back turned to the small gathering.
Enid blinked, "It’s that easy…"
"Nah, she’s just a daddy’s girl." Pugsley laughed as he walked in, Thing on his shoulder. His face was covered in soot from his activities . "So, are we still going into town?"
"Fencing!" Wednesday protested from her corner.
Morticia put her hand on his head, running her finger through his hair. "Your sister has lost interest in the town for now. How about you get cleaned up in the bathroom and join us?"
The boy agreed and went to the adjacent room to wash his face.
"You need to teach me a few things, Mr. and Mrs. Addams. She won’t even listen to me on her good days before her classification."
"That’s Wednesday for you. And call us Gomez and Morticia, you are much too formal." Gomez pat Enid on the back as he smiled widely. "Unless you want to call us Mother and Father-"
"Gomez and Morticia are fine!" Enid hid her face with her hands as the Addams family laughed.
After about fifteen minutes, Wednesday kicked the chair back from the wall. The girl landed flat on her back with a large "Oomph."
Enid rushed over, concerned for Wednesday's well-being. Morticia and Gomez stifled their laughter as they helped the little girl up from the floor.
"Oh, my little storm cloud, are you alright?" Morticia asked with a mix of amusement and genuine worry.
Wednesday rubbed her padded backside and scowled. "I'm fine," she muttered, not wanting to admit that the fall had caught her off guard.
Enid gave her a gentle pat on the head. "Be careful, Willa. No more accidents, okay?"
Wednesday nodded, her frown turning into a mischievous smile. "Can we go fencing now?"
Gomez clapped his hands in excitement. "Ah, my little duelist is eager to show off her skills! Let's not keep her waiting."
They made their way to the outdoor fencing area of the school that was set up for parents weekend. Pugsley joined them, his face now clean from the soot. The family watched with anticipation as Wednesday stood tall, gripping the rapier in her small hand.
Gomez took up his own fencing stance, a proud glimmer in his eyes. "Remember, mi tormenta, stay focused and take a deep breath."
Wednesday's eyes gleamed with determination as she lunged forward, engaging in a playful but spirited fencing match with her father. The clash of their blades echoed through the air as they twirled and parried, showcasing their skills and undeniable connection.
Enid stood at the sidelines, awestruck by the display. She marveled at the bond between the family members.
Morticia, observing the duel, turned to Enid with a warm smile. "They are a force to be reckoned with, aren't they? Our unique family."
Enid nodded, her heart filled with a mix of emotions. "Yes, they truly are. I feel lucky to be a part of it."
As the fencing match continued, their laughter and occasional cries of delight filled the air. For a moment they were basking in the joy of the present, letting go of the weight of the outside world.
When they finally finished their match, with Wednesday poking her father in the chest, she laughed loudly. A huge smile on her face as her father stood up again.
"Ah! Such a great athlete!" Someone shouted, making the family all turn their heads. "I have never seen such a performance. Bravo!"
Enid moved towards Wednesday, gripping her hand as the little dropped her weapon. She watched as the family made a loose but stable wall around them.
"Don’t look so guarded, Addams. I mean no harm to your family, just merely appreciating the show." The man calmly explained.
"Who exactly are you?" Pugsley asked, eying the tall and pale man in front of them.
"Let’s just say… I am an admirer…" He chuckled before turning his back on the group, "See you around, Wednesday. " With that he walked away before anyone could think of their next course of action.
The Addams family exchanged puzzled glances as the man walked away. They were accustomed to strange encounters and unusual admirers, but this interaction left them with an eerie feeling.
Enid tightened her grip on Wednesday's hand, her protective instincts kicking in. "We should be careful," she whispered to the family. "We don't know his intentions or why he singled out Wednesday."
Gomez nodded, his eyes fixed on the retreating figure. "Indeed, my dear. We must stay vigilant and keep her safe."
Morticia turned to Enid, her voice calm yet firm. "Enid, my dear, I trust you know who is in her life at this point. You have become a part of our family, and we value your insight. Let’s stay together and keep an eye on Wednesday, ensuring her safety above all else."
Enid had embraced her role as a caregiver to Wednesday, and the family had welcomed her with open arms. She vowed to protect her charge with her life. Unfortunately to them, it seemed the text stopped for a reason, and the reason appeared.
They decided to go back to the dormitory, maintaining a heightened awareness of their surroundings. Wednesday, oblivious to the potential threat, skipped alongside Enid, her mind already filled with ideas for their next activity.
As they entered the dorm room, Enid closed the door behind them, shutting out the outside world for a moment. The group gathered in a circle, their eyes meeting with unwavering determination.
"We shall keep an eye out," Gomez declared, his voice steady. "Our family is resilient, and we will protect one another, even if we have to stay longer."
Morticia agreed, her gaze unwavering. "Yes, we will be watchful, for Wednesday's safety is priority, especially while she is in headspace. But let us not forget the strength and resilience she possesses herself. She is no ordinary little girl."
Pugsley chimed in, his voice filled with determination. "And we are the Addams family, after all. We have been through many issues and we've always come out on top." He shrugged, knowing his sister could handle her own. He remembered Enid bringing up the stalker to him on a few occasions but his contact became non-existent last he heard.
Wednesday sat on her bed, having gotten bored of their conversation. She decided to pick back up on her nap, closing her eyes as the family discussed the man.
Chapter Text
“Awe she’s so cute!” Pugsley gushed as he put his face on her bed. Wednesday was deep into her nap by the time the group finished making plans to keep the girl safe and comfortable. “Are you sure this is still my sister? She’s way adorable.”
Enid nodded excitedly, “I know right? Definitely one eighty from her normal doom and gloom, huh?”
Her parents decided to sit on the floor, leaning on one another watching the interaction between the teens in the room. They could hardly believe their eldest was finally classified as well as finding her bonded mate already.
“Our little stormcloud is an overachiever, afterall.” Gomez said fondly as he lightly traced Morticia’s collarbone. “She will need a lot of help though, it doesn't matter what she says or feels about this. She will refuse help when offered, but for now we will keep her safe.”
“You are correct, my dear.” Morticia took his hand and lightly kissed it. She had a vision about this time in Wednesday’s life, part of the reason she sent a care package to Larissa’s office a few days prior. “Enid, darling.”
“Yes, Mrs. Addams?” Enid snapped her head away from her little one who was nuzzled against her arm. The dark woman raised an eyebrow, “Sorry- Morticia?”
Smiling fondly, she sat up a bit, “Better. I was wondering if you know where the clothing I sent Wednesday is?”
Nodding her head, Enid stood up quickly, a bit nervous about being spoken to directly by the Addams monarch. Wednesday, who was unconsciously enjoying the warmth and comfort, whimpered before Pugsley put his arm out for her to grab.
“It’s right here, “ Enid began as she riffled through some extra boxes she hadn't gotten too yet. Lifting up the box for the woman to see, “Here you go, I think this is everything Principal Weems gave me.”
Taking the box from the werewolf without getting up, Morticia took everything out carefully. She laid everything out carefully, noting a few missing items. She was sure that they found a spot in Larissa’s nursery.
“I want you to dress her in these as much as you can, okay? If you need more outfits do not hesitate to contact me.”
“Uh, sure, I guess?” Enid agreed but she was confused, “Why exactly, I mean I’m not doubting anything but-”
“Calm yourself, Lupa. The clothing has protective charms and spells, as well as functionality.” Gomez chimed in with an affectionate grin. “She would benefit from them if allowed to wear them continuously.”
Enid understood, although she was a bit bummed out that all the clothing she got for Wednesday would go to waste.
“Hey, Enid it doesn’t mean she can’t wear the cute jumpers over there.” Pugsley pointed with it free hand to the pile, “She would be comfy in them, right? They look super soft.”
“They are!” Enid instantly cheeried up as she snatched one from its spot. “Here, feel it!” Placing it in his hand, the boy rubbed the black and white one piece together, “See? She would totally love it.”
Wednesday stirred a bit, opening her eyes blearily, letting go of her brother when she noticed it wasn’t her Mama. The goth girl let out a whimper. Enid’s heart clenched slightly, wanting to fulfill her little’s needs. Pugsley moved out of the way when Wednesday made the noise, unsure how to react. The blonde moved to place the girl into her lap and hold her.
“Did she do this when she was a baby?” Enid looked to Morticia and Gomez for an answer while Wednesday breathed into her neck, clutching at the colorful fabric. “I mean it’s adorable but I need to know if I should be wor- rieeed. Ah! Wednesday, did you just lick me?!”
Said girl, accused of licking the wolf, gave her a half lidded smile before leaning back onto her.
“Well we can certainly say you got it easier. She would bite us when she was in that position, thankfully she only had her baby fangs-” Gomez leaned onto his wife, “Oh, remember when she first drew blood?”
“Mm yes, it was horribly painful, I remember being so happy she had vampire genetics after all these generations…” Morticia reminisced, clutching a spot on her chest, Enid looked away quickly when she noticed where she was holding, “I must say, when she bit me while feeding her, I encouraged it but soon she was just licking the open wound-”
Enid wanted to ask but she soon got her answer.
“She left quite a scar there, cara mia …” Gomez purred, taking his hand to encompass her’s. Then he let out a sigh, “Unfortunately her teeth are just for show according to Grandmama.”
A toothy smile tore Wednesday’s face. She pushed herself so that she was facing the caregiver to show the teen her impressive canines. Enid gushed, crushing the little raven in her own grip. Wednesday squealed when Pugsley tickled her belly where her shirt raised up slightly.
“Y-You are d-dead!” Wednesday yelled between breaths. “Mama let me go . He’s being a meanie!”
“No way- you can’t smile at me like that and think you’re getting away that easily.” Enid tightened her hold on the little, “You are just too darn cute, my baby.”
  Wednesday wanted to stab the girl for going overboard but she couldn’t find it in herself, secretly liking the attention from her. Before yesterday, she would have had Enid’s head a spike but now, now she craves the affection she’s getting.
After a few more minutes of being ‘assaulted’, Wednesday whined signifying she was done. Enid giggled but let her go as she allowed everyone involved to catch their breaths.
“Dead meat.” Wednesday murmured, as she stood up carefully. She huffed as she grabbed her black stuffed animal, clutching it to her chest. Narrowing her eyes, she glared at her brother. “Later. I’ll be waiting.”
Pugsley smiled fondly, “Sure, Sis.”
“Okay! So are we going into town?” Enid questioned as she found herself steadying Wednesday, placing her hand lightly on her shoulders.
Morticia stood up from the floor, Gomez soon after. The couple, still wrapped up in themselves, started to move towards the door.
“Shall we? I can have Lurch bring the car around.” The tall woman smiled, as Gomez opened the door.
As they made their way to the car loop, the family took note of a pillar of smoke in the quad. They all shrugged except for Enid and Pugsley, who was in a one sided staring match.
“Did you do that?” Enid whispered to Pugsley. Wednesday was a bit ahead of them, supporting herself on her mother’s arm.
Pugsley shrugged and looked away. “No idea how that happened.”
Enid eyed him once more before speeding up to pick up Wednesday. The girl was surprised at first but soon clung onto her caregiver.
“We should go before Auntie finds out Pugsley did that…” Wednesday whispered with a giggle into the werewolf’s ear.
As the family made their way to the car, with Wednesday safely nestled in Enid's arms, the pillar of smoke in the quad continued to rise. Enid couldn't shake the feeling that Pugsley might have had something to do with it and Wednesday just confirmed her suspicions. She rolled her eyes at the boy who was looking away, whistling innocently.
Once they reached the car, an ominous black vehicle that perfectly matched the family's style, Morticia and Gomez got in the front bench, while Enid sat in the back with Wednesday and Pugsley. The car ride was surprisingly uneventful, considering how crazy the day has been so far with them.
As they entered the town, Wednesday gazed out of the window, her dark eyes fixed on the mundane world passing by. Enid couldn't help but wonder how the residents of the town would react if they knew that they were occasionally visited by the family who caused this town to change.
They parked near the Weathervane, where Morticia insisted on having a cup of her favorite tea. Enid, Pugsley, and Wednesday took a seat at a nearby table while Morticia and Gomez went inside. Wednesday was quiet, her mood shifting from the earlier playful interactions to a more contemplative state.
"Are you okay, Wednesday?" Enid asked softly, concerned for the young girl.
Wednesday nodded, her gaze still fixed on something in the distance. "I'm fine, Enid. I just... I'm not used to all this attention and affection."
Enid smiled gently and reached out to pat Wednesday's hand. "I understand, Willa. It can be overwhelming, but you have people who care about you, and that's a good thing."
Wednesday's lips curled into a small, genuine smile, and she leaned into Enid's touch. "You're right, Enid. It's just... different."
As Morticia and Gomez returned with their tea, they noticed the heartwarming scene at the table. Morticia couldn't help but feel a surge of maternal pride, while Gomez wore his usual mischievous grin.
“Go ahead and get your drinks, children. We’ll keep the table.” Morticia smiled at them, making Wednesday shoot away from Enid, signaling Pugsley to get up.
“Can I get anything I want?” Pugsley asked the girls.
“I do not see why you need to ask. Mother and Father have never said no to our food choices while we are out of the house.” Wednesday tilted her head towards the menu, fully intending on getting her quad over ice. “Enid, what do you want?’
The wolf girl was eyeing the colorful pink photo on the counter. Enid pointed to the drink making Wednesday roll her eyes, because of course she would.
“Well go ahead. We’re not standing here for our own health.” Wednesday gestured for Enid to move up. The clerk smiled wearily at the group, clearly new in town. “Quad over ice.”
Enid nudged the goth girl, trying to say she needed to be nicer to the girl. “Can I have that pink drink, please?”
“Sure thing! And for you?” The girl asked Puglsley who was also eyeing the drink Enid ordered.
“Can I have that with arsenic?”
“... Come again?”
Before the boy could reply, Wednesday shoved a vial into his hands. “Oh, thank you, Sis! Sorry, I’ll have what she’s having, then.”
“Okay… I’ll call you when your order is ready.” She scurried away to get the drinks made while the group went back to the table.
“Arsenic?” Pugsley offered his parents, who were conversing with each other on the other side.
Morticia shook her head as she drank her tea, “No need, I have nightshade in my cup.”
After the family finished their drinks they were trying to figure out the next course of action.
“Why don’t we go to the park? I’m sure we could all burn off some energy after all that caffeine?” Enid suggested as she saw Wednesday fiddle with her sweater sleeves.
“I don’t think that’s a bad idea.” Morticia stated as she stood up with Gomez. “I believe you all could use a bit of moving around.”
Wednesday grumbled something but stood up with the rest of the table. The family walked out of the shop, the bell chiming as they walked out.
As they arrived at the park, it was a lively place, with children playing on swings, families having picnics, and a sense of cheerful normalcy.
Wednesday wanted to turn around as soon as the equipment came into sight but soon her little side took the driver’s seat again. When she saw the swings she sprinted, kicking sand up behind herself. Enid was shocked but laughed as Pugsley dashed after her.
The family's presence became more apparent at the park, their unique behaviors and looks began to emerge. Morticia's beauty and Gomez's over the top enthusiasm drew the attention of the other park-goers, causing some to give them curious or wary looks. Their dark appearance, combined with their unusual behavior (and inappropriate PDA), started to make the other children and their parents uncomfortable.
Slowly but surely, the families at the playground began to move away from the dark family, creating a wide berth around them.  Pugsley decided to add to the spectacle by playfully pretending to be a ghost, causing some of the children to scream and scatter.  Wednesday on the other hand, thought it was hilarious and joined in on the fun.
Enid, however, tried to ease the tension by engaging in conversation with the other parents and caregivers, but it was clear that the goth family's presence was too overwhelming for them. She thought she would have had a chance to ease the tension given she looked nothing like then, but was quickly shown otherwise.
“Come on Willa! Let’s head back to school!” Enid shouted to the pair of siblings who were chasing each other around the now empty playground.
Pugsley ran over to the group as Wednesday shuffled her feet through the sand. The pale girl was sweating but smiling widely. Enid wanted to pick her up and squish the girl for being so cute but decided against it.
“Can we have ice cream?!” Wednesday asked, bouncing a bit as she grabbed onto Enid’s sleeve. “ Please ?”
“I’m sure that can be arranged. I hope the shop is still open from when we went to Nevermore.” Morticia fondly stated, placing a free hand to her cheek lost in the memory.
“You mean Cherry Smash? It’s still open and popular as ever!” Enid supplied as she moved her own hand to meet Wednesday’s. “We can walk there if you are up to it? Oh, does that guy who was driving the car want some? Maybe he-”
Gomez laughed, placing a hand on the blonde’s shoulder, “Enid, dear. I appreciate you looking out for our butler Lurch, but he has no need for such things. He is, let’s say, rather picky about his food.”
Enid nodded, pink tinting her cheeks a bit. Wednesday swung their arms together as they turned a corner. The bright lights of the ice cream shop came into view making the group (except Enid) grimace at the ornate display.
“It… changed quite a bit…” Morticia grimaced as Pugsley opened the door. “It’s so… bright.”
“You said it, Cara Mia.” Gomez agreed, walking over to the line where there was retro candy and drinks on display. The other side was filled with at least fifty flavors of ice cream. The entire place was decorated in retro coke machines and non functional jukeboxes from when diners were thriving in Jericho.
Wednesday was sighing as she rubbed her eyes. Her brain became less muddled since she was no longer running around. She grimaced as her eyes caught the ice cream that had all sorts of colors to them. She kinda wanted the rainbow one, as if it was life for death in the decision. She realistically knew her little side just wanted it because it was colorful but she was against it. She would get vanilla with nothing on it, she was determined.
“Oh that is no fun, I want that ice cream!”
Wednesday growled quietly to herself, shaking her head. “No. It’s vanilla or nothing.”
“We’ll see about that…”
Wednesday was just going to ignore that voice in her head, but that soon became difficult as she felt the cloudiness come back. She was actively forcing it down, hoping to get out of line quickly with the rest of her family.
“OMG look at that one!” Enid squealed as she pointed to a very toxic blue color, “It’s cookie monster flavored, I wonder what that would taste like…”
The lady behind the counter smiled as the family walked up, “Ah, hi there! Do you want to sample any of these?”
Enid nodded, pointing to the blue ice cream. The woman gave her a small spoon to let her try it. The wolf girl shrugged at the food coloring flavor. Not her favorite.
“Eh, I’ll just stick with my mint chip please.” Enid told her as she waited for the rest of the family to make a decision. She turned to the goth girl who was biting her lip as she looked at the selection, “What do you want Willa? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you eat ice cream before.”
“And I am still against eating such rich junk food. It is not beneficial to my well being.” Wednesday said as she continued to eye the rainbow ice cream. “If I can’t stop myself with just vanilla, then no ice cream will be the best option.” She was slowly dropping the closer she got to the glass display case.
“She’ll have the rainbow one.” Pugsley butted in, “She loves fruit flavored things.”
“Pugsley!” Wednesday gasped as she felt herself drop after losing her concentration. She sat on the floor and crossed her arms, blocking the line from moving. “No!”
“Wednesday, stand up please.” Morticia leaned down, “How about we find a table to sit down at?”
The little snuffed, turning her head up and away from her mother. She was not moving until she got her ice cream.
Enid crouched down, gently guiding Wednesday’s face towards her own. “Why don’t you go with her and I’ll get you your ice cream, okay, my little raven?”
The girl was going to protest but wanted to make her Mama happy. Wednesday was not in the mood to walk though, so she held her arms up to be picked up. Enid shook her head with a smile, doing as she was asked.
“I’ll hold your spot.” Pugsley offered as they got out of line. “I’m getting a mango and mint chip milkshake.” He smiled as Wednesday and Enid made a face at that.
Walking about ten feet from the line, they found a booth big enough to seat the family. Enid deposited the dark girl into Morticia’s lap and skipped back over to the counter. Wednesday pulled at her mother’s hair that was dangling near her hand.
“Darling, please don’t pull my hair. It’s reserved for your father.” Morticia gripped Wednesday’s fingers, prying them from its hold. If Wednesday was in her normal headspace, she would have done it much quicker than the woman did.
  The girl whined on her lap, wishing that, one, she had her treat and, two, her Mama was with them faster. Why couldn’t they just let her stay where she was before? She was quite comfy on the tile floor.
“Wednesday, why don’t we look at some of the stuff around us. There are so many different things to look at.” Morticia tried to distract her, unfortunately she didn’t have much on hand to do so. She pointed to the train that would slowly ride through the holes in the ceiling as it went along the track. “See that? It’s just like Gomez’s test trains.”
“That is rather offensive, dear. My train’s are much more impressive.” The round man said as she sat down at the table with the group. “Here you go, it's rum raisin.”
“Here I’ll take her back.” Enid offered as she put the cups of ice cream down on the table.
Enid gently lifted Wednesday from Morticia's lap and settled her back into her own. The little goth girl seemed to relax in her caregiver's arms, her eyes fixed on the colorful ice cream.
"Thank you, Enid," Morticia said with a nod of appreciation as she began to scoop some ice cream into a small spoon, careful not to create any mess.
Pugsley, who was eagerly sipping his mango and mint chip milkshake, looked over at Wednesday with a mischievous grin. "Hey, Willa, you wanna try some of this?" He offered his milkshake to her.
Wednesday eyed the milkshake for a moment, contemplating whether or not to take a sip. "No," she replied after a brief hesitation.
Pugsley shrugged, taking another sip of his milkshake. "Suit yourself."
The family enjoyed their ice cream, with Morticia and Gomez savoring their exotic flavors and Enid happily indulging in her mint chip. Pugsley, on the other hand, devoured his ice cream with gusto.
As they continued to enjoy their treats, Wednesday's initial reluctance began to fade. She carefully took a small spoonful of the rainbow ice cream and tasted it. A subtle smile spread across her face as she savored the fruity flavor.
“How is it, baby?” Enid asked as she bit her own.
"Good!" Wednesday admitted, her dark eyes lighting up just a little. She took another spoonful, her enthusiasm growing.
Morticia and Gomez exchanged pleased glances. It was rare to see their eldest daughter show enthusiasm for something so innocent and joyful.
Enid, delighted to see Wednesday enjoying her ice cream, gently teased her. "See, Willa, sometimes it's okay to indulge in a little sweetness."
Wednesday gave a small nod, her pale cheeks slightly flushed with delight. She continued to savor her ice cream, finding solace in this simple moment of joy.
