Work Header

Uzi tries to not die while also trying to not die.

Summary:

Fanfic pilot!

Uzi, after being mistaken for a disassembly drone, goes out to scare away any unsuspecting worker drone that was cocky enough to come out from their colony.

N tags along! Because Uzi can’t fly so he’ll be her wings. (And also cause Uzi is his first bestfriend)

Concept by healthy orchids on tumblr!
And murder drones belongs to Glitch Productions!

Notes:

This fanfic is in the making! I’m having discourses with the person who made up the AU! We’re planning out some plot points as you read this!

This is simply my take, with some influence with people who have shown interest in the AU.

Not beta read & also written on my phone, so expect some odd inconsistencies and bad grammar

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Uzi treaded lightly on the snow, her rail gun held close to her chest as she glanced to the once bright apartments and towers.

She sighed softly, wondering where a rouge drone would be. It would be nice if one just magically appeared out of nowhere….

She got her wish. But it wasn’t the type of drone she was hoping for—-

“UUUUZZZZZZZIIIIIIIII!!!”

“Oh the heckers?—“ before she could process anything, an incredibly violent force pushed Uzi to the ground in a matter of milliseconds.

“Heya!” A cheery voice spoke as Uzis coding resorted itself.

“Uh—huh— oh, N!” She looked to the bigger drone, a little tense as he stood above her, looking at her face-to-face. “Erm, why are you here?”

He kept staring at Uzi, before shaking his head and finally responding with— “oh! You don’t have wings.”

“Huh? Yeah I thought that was obvious.” Uzi tried looking to her back, before looking to n.

“It is, I just thought maybe you could use a faster way to get back to the landing pod.” He spread his bladed wings, totally not trying to show them off.

“Oh— well I’m fine with walking really—“

“What about the sun? You can walk around a bit but I doubt fast enough to get back to the pod.”

“Are you calling me slow?”

“No no!…. Well, yeah….. but for a good reason!”

He gestured to the corpse spire, that was only a 5 hour walk away. “It’s been only a few hours and— you know— nights only last for about 10 hours. You’ve spent half of that time walking!”

“Yeah cause I have nothing but my feet and cooling system.”

“That’s why I wanna fly you around!”

“I mean…. Yeah, it would be faster.”

Uzi slumped a little, whilst N’s tail wagged happily. He approached Uzi, patting her shoulder.

“Ready?”

(T I M E S K I P)

“Jeeze, Uzi, you’re pretty light.”

“Jeeze, N, can you shut up?”

N was gliding through the air, swerving and avoiding all the towers and buildings as Uzi scanned the ground. She was gripping N’s wrists while N did the same thing, as to not drop her by accident.

At some point in their little flight, N wanted to show Uzi some tricks he could do in the sky. Needless to say she almost fell during the tenth spin.

“How come your so light?

“Dunno, probably because I’m small.”

“Huh, but V’s the smallest— well, WAS the smallest of our team and she was heavy.”

“That’s because she’s pumped full of ammo and weapons that mysteriously come out of nowhere. I’m not.”

“You don’t have weapons??”

“No, I pull them out of my ass— yes I don’t have weapons. I guess they worried more about getting an effective cooling system than a decent mur— disassembly bot.” She lied a little. Obviously, Uzi was not a “”special model”” she was an angsty teenage worker drone trying to not get folded by a yes-man murderer.

“Huh, that’s why they provided you a gun? I thought they did that as a joke or something…”

“How would it be a joke if it BLASTED your head.”

“Oh—“

Uzi huffed, shaking her head a little. “By Robo-Jesus N” she muttered.

After that, they stayed silent, nothing but the slowly growing storm could be heard as they flew around.

“Uzi, I need som—“ N was about to start a new conversation but Uzi cut him off. “THERE— I see one!” She frantically pointed her boot at a corner of a convenience store. N stopped mid flight, looking at where Uzi had pointed before rapidly descending towards his new destination.

Uzi let go of N, perfectly landing and rolling away before he could do his regular dramatic slam into the snow.

N’s visor has a yellow X on it, his tail swishing from side to side. Uzi dusted herself off, staring at the store with curiosity.

“I swear I saw one.” She murmured, “maybe it’s behind the building”

Slowly, she started to walk over to the side. Her eyes caught tracks of boots that led up to…. And they disappeared.

But conveniently, they stopped at a window, one that was (shockingly) semi in tacked, apart from a very conveniently sized hole that was big enough to fit a full grow worker.

Uzi, who had a very convenient feeling that she should look through the window, looked through the window.

She stood on her toes, craning her head into the desolate building via the window. A gasp imnitated but it wasn’t by her. She looked down, and saw a shaking worker hidden beneath the counter.

“Uuuzzzi? Did you find ‘em?” N called out.

“Shhh” Uzi mouthed to the other, putting her finger up to her lips. “Uh— not yet N!” She hollered back.

Uzi heard the snow crunch. She was gonna tell the drone to run off— but sadly N was made with long legs and I need a proper reason to traumatize Uzi.

“OH! There they are!” N gleefully cheered

“Dammit—“ Uzi muttered, pulling her rail-gun from her back and pointing it to the poor worker, whose bolts could be heard shaking uncontrollably. “Sorry rando”

She closed her eyes and shot the gun, the beam incredibly powerful and ear piercing. It lasted for a second, but to Uzi it felt like a whole minute.

When the gun stopped, it started its recharge. Uzi opened her eyes and was horrified to see that she missed the poor drones core. If the gun was ear piercing, then the screams of a still alive worker who’s missing their lower body was disintegrating.

The workers internal wiring was spilled out, their oil seeping down and creating a puddle. Uzi almost gagged. The drone was trying to keep its wires and circuits inside.

“Er… N?” Uzi breathed out, watching as the worker pathetically scoop their wires into their upper chest. “Can you uh… finish this for me?”

The worker fell to their side, trying to crawl away as their wires were left behind in a little line. Their soft whimpers and cries probably wouldn’t leave uzis mind for a while… a very long while.

“I don’t think you need me too, just go sever their head.”

“N, I don’t have any weapons to do that.”

“Oh— just—“

“N, for the love of JCJenson just go eat it or whatever.”

N shrugged, not wanting to turn down a good meal. He climbed into the building and began crunching on the poor bot. Uzi looked away not wanting to see anymore gore.

With a loud slurp and a few more crunches, N stumbled out of the window and took by Uzi’s side. He carried the head of the drone.

“Saving that for later?” Uzi asked, both disgusted and curious with the head.

“No, I’m thinking of giving it to V!” He answered excitably. “Unless your hungry?”

“No! Oh god no—“ Uzi shook her head fast, putting her hands up and backed away a little. “I’m not hungry right now. I’m pretty full on… uh, failure, for not being able to kill that drone.”

“Oh— okay!” N nodded his head in understanding. Uzi for the first time in her life, mentally thanked JCJenson for making N gullible.

As they soured through the air, Uzi was carried underneath N’s arm, his other one was occupied with the head.

“Uzi?”

“N”

“Earlier, with what you said…”

Uzi tensed a little, looking up at N and expecting the worst.

“Um— yeah, w-what about it…?”

N landed, just by the spire and set Uzi down including the head. He looked at Uzi with a very serious face. Uzi felt a shiver go down her spine.

“Um— N?”

And N, tilting his head, asked—

“You can eat failure?”
