Chapter Text

“Cissa, I just – I can’t help but love him, and I know I shouldn’t because he is a muggleborn, but he treats me like I’m worth something, and I just..” Regulus trailed off, Narcissa had a sad smile on her face, “Regulus, go.” His eyebrows shot up, “What? Cissa I can’t leave you here for salazars sake!” Narcissa smiled at him, “Regulus, it is so annoyingly obvious you are in love with this muggleborn, I also know you were planning to leave. I saw the plan for you and him to stay in Alphards cottage that you inherited.” She says. “Come with me,” Regulus says, her eyes widen, “Regulus – you have to understand I’m married, it simply won’t work.” She says, “Narcissa, I see the way you look at Amelia Bones. Plus we could be free forever!” Narcissa shook her head, it couldn’t work.

“Narcissa, you wouldn’t be stuck with Malfoy, please, please come!”Narcissa took this into account, could she actually leave? For good? She sighed before nodding. “Let me pack my things into my trunk,” she says, Regulus grinned at her, he went outside and brought the trunk that was waiting outside for him in. Narcissa began backing clothes and jewellery, she packed her books and journals before stopping, “How will we get to this cottage of yours?” She asked, “Floo, since its a gala no-one will expect it. You ready?” He asked. She hesitatingly nodded, was this a good idea? She picked up the trunk which had “Toujours Pur,” embroidered into it, she then looked at Regulus who smile at her, “Lets go, we must be quiet as possible,” he explains, she nodded. He slowly walks out the room, Narcissa on his tail, he had his stoic mask on, though his stomach was flipping at the thought of seeing his lovely hufflepuff boyfriend, he never realised, how similar him and Andromeda were.

They began to walk down the creaky stairs as slow as they could, it was now hitting Narcissa she was going to be free, truly free. They were at the bottom of the stairs now and could hear the annoyingly loud music from the Yule Gala, being hosted at Cygnus and Druella’s Household. They walked into the living room, which had no-one in it. Regulus looked at her, “You can go first, just say Black Cottage.” She nodded, she took a handful of floo power and stepped into the fire. “Black cottage,” Just then green flames erupted and she was in a living room, it was a cosy looking living room, though it wasn’t really a living room, was it? It was like one big room but all things were spaced out but it still was so homey, she saw the stairs to go upstairs, she heard a woosh and turned to see her younger cousin, who was grinning.

“We did it Cissa, we got out” He says to her, she smiles softly, “we did get out, didn’t we?” She asks, Regulus nods, “KAI, WE’VE ARRIVED!” Shouted Regulus, Narcissa flinched and he shot her a apologetic look, they could hear someone rushing down a boy with ginger hair that was mid-length with emerald green eyes came down, his eyes lit up when he saw regulus, he rushed over to hug him, Regulus pecked him on the lips before turning to Narcissa, who was smiling knowingly. “Love, this is my cousin Narcissa,” he says, Kai smiles warmly at her “It’s nice to meet you, Narcissa. I hope you enjoy your time here!” He says. “Thank you, Kai,” she nods at him, “Cissa we have a bedroom set up for you; it’s the one covered with green and emerald, feel free to go unpack,” Regulus says, Narcissa nods before walking off, Regulus sits on the couch, Kai sits on the floor, “Im glad you’re out that shite hole, Reggie,” 

Kai says. Regulus smiles at him, “So am I. Narcissa and I were just lucky it was the annual Yule Gala or we probably would’ve been screwed,” Kai looks at Regulus fondly, and simply wondered how he had gotten so lucky? How had he gotten such a nice boyfriend? Who helps house elves and first years? He didn’t know how, but he was glad. “Have you ate yet?” Kai asked, he knee he probably hadn’t but, oh well.

“I actually have!” He says proudly, Kai laughed, “Do you reckon your ma’s searching the place for you yet?” Regulus smile faltered a bit, and Kai mentally smacked himself. “Probably screeching all over the place to be entirely frank; that is what she does best,” he nods along, before getting off the floor and kissing Regulus on the head, “Is Narcissa..well a blood supremacist?” Kai asked, he wanted to feel safe in his own home. “I think she was like me; didn’t really believe it, though its implanted in her brain.” Kai nodded, “We’ll help her; like I helped you!” Regulus nodded, “I think we should maybe – just maybe sleep for now, its half past midnight,” his eyes darted to the clock, “how in Helga hufflepuffs cock is it half-past twelve..” he says in shock, before shaking his head, “Yea we probably should go to bed now. Its only a week till we’re back.”

Regulus groaned, “ugehmmm, we should have more time,” he mumbled, he got up and dragged himself to the stairs, Kai trailing after him. “Good night Cissa!” He called, he heard a muffled ‘Good night!’ He went to the end of the hall and opened the door, he headed straight to the pyjama’s on the bed and began to change, he didn’t know why he was suddenly so tired, but he was. He finished changing after brushing his teeth and crawling into bed. Kai then crawled in next to him, he scooted over to kai and laid his head on Kai’s shoulder, Kai began to play with his hair; making him even more tired then he originally was, he started to feel his eyes getting heavy and slowly shut them.

Oh, how he loved Kai.

“Good night, mon étolie.” Kai Murmured

NARCISSA: 

Narcissa stayed tossing in her bed, she had actually left the house of black, hadn’t she? That was an idiotic idea, she has to get back, but what if they figure out she knows Regulus is gone? She would never ever want to put the boy she raised as her own in danger, although, what if they get put im danger anyway? Thoughts and possibilities began to run in her head, till she got to one; they cant find you here, Narcissa. And that was true; Alphard had been disowned, no-one would expect the ‘golden’ children of the house of black to go to their dead uncles place, would they?

She relaxed at that last thought, maybe she wouldn’t have to return to her parents, or Lucius Malfoy for that matter; he was a decent husband, but he was at least 7 years older and for the 3 years she was married, she felt like nothing but a housewife, whoch annoyed her greatly; she wasn’t quidditch captain and head girl to be a fucking housewife for Merlin’s sake; it wasn’t like being a houswife was bad, but she just had to be active. Another problem was, she didn’t necessarily like men in that way, she was a lesbian who was in an affair.

Her affair was with none other than Auror Amelia Bones, the woman was one of the only people she was living for, despite Regulus of course. Amelia made her feel things Lucius never could, she knew Amelia would (hopefully) be happy about it, she looked at the clock that was on the opposite wall and it read 2:45, how on earth did it get so late so quickly? She sighed before turning over to her side.

She then closed her eyes and hoped for a non nightmare filled sleep.

Chapter Text

Narcissa wakes up that morning and pinches herself to make she wasn’t dreaming, fortunately, she wasn’t. She walked down the stairs and saw Regulus and Kai who were sitting on the couch, Regulus reading a book and Kai watching something on a square thick box. The floor creaked when she stood on it, making Regulus look up, “Morning, Cissa.” Regulus says. Narcissa smiles at him, “Good morning, Regulus.” There was an awkward air filling the room, till Kai Spoke up. “Narcissa, you got a letter from someone, not quite sure who it is although.” Kai finishes smiling at her, “Oh thank you, Kai.” She says, “Is it in the kitchen?” He nodded. She walked over to the kitchen, where a letter was waiting for her. It said on the parchment “To Narcissa Malfoy.” She picked up the letter and unfolded it.

Dear Cissa,

I have heard about your great escape (from Regulus, who, for some reason knows where I live.) and want to say I am very proud of you; I was hoping I’d be able to see you again (Sirius wants to join us), for Lunch with you, Regulus and Kai (I think thats his name.) Please contact me whenever you can to set up details, if you wish.

Andromeda Tonks

Narcissa stares at the letter for a good 5 minutes; she felt shocked, but in a good way; if there even was a good way. Andy wanted to talk again? She felt like she should’ve been upset that it’s only now she wants to be siblings, but she could care less, she may get her sister back, and of course Regulus will get Sirius Back, she walks to the living room, letter in hand. “It was Andromeda, her and Sirius want to have lunch with all of us,” Narcissa states. Regulus has an unreadable expression as he looks up, Kai just shrugs before speaking “I mean I wouldn’t mind; it would be good for you both to connect to your siblings again.” Regulus just nods, “Shall I go write her a letter then?” Kai nods with a smile, “Our owl should be upstairs in the attic, if you get hungry breakfast will be ready soon.” Narcissa nodded, “Thank you,” She had the urge to pull at her own skin, she was associating with a bloody mudblood for Merlins sake! Her mother would crucio her if she saw this. She shook her head as she walked up the stairs and in to  her bedroom.

She walked over to her desk, which had parchment and quills. She sat down and grabbed the Quill and Parchment, she didn’t have a fucking idea of what she was going to say to her (VERY!!) estranged sister, what if she fucks up the letter and Andromeda (and Sirius) Change their minds? No, they couldn’t change their minds now, it was far too late. They were the ones who reached out in the first place after-all. She sighed before writing on the parchment “To Andromeda Tonks.”

Dear Andromeda Tonks,

We would all love to go out with you and Sirius, it will be nice to talk to each-other again. It mean’s a lot for you say that you’re proud of me, despite not seeing me in over 4 years. Thank you for that, please tell Sirius I’ve said hello, when should we go out so I can tell Regulus and Kai?

(Also, Please don’t refer to me as Narcissa Malfoy!)

She places the letter on her desk and gets up, she walks over to her wardrobe, which she had filled with her robes and dresses, she picks out her most casual dress; which was a summery pink dress, given to her by Bellatrix on her birthday. Her heart warms when she thinks of her eldest sister, she was there for her when Andromeda had left, she takes off her pyjamas and puts the dress on; she does a little twirl before walking over to the bed and making it. She always got bothered when a bed wasn’t made. She was quite sure why, but she always did; perhaps she was a clean freak Narcissa though as she puffed her pillow, she admired her work for a good moment or two before walking to her desk and picking up the brush.

She brushed her Browny black hair, she was excited to live with Regulus; of course when they were younger they stayed over at each other’s houses, but this would be different, they would be with each other 24/7, or well till Regulus and Kai go back to Hogwarts. She walks back downstairs and smells something, she didn’t know what it was but it’s smell made her feel sick, it smelt like breakfast but it just made her queasy “Putain, quelle est cette odeur?” She muttered under her breath as she enters the living - Kitchen room, Regulus looks at her and smiles, but his brows furrow. “Cissa, tu te sens bien? Tu as l'air verdâtre” Regulus said. “Oui, je vais bien, juste un peu choqué par tout ce qui s'est passé récemment.” Regulus nods at her, a loud bang could be heard, making Narcissa and Regulus flinch.

“FUCK I DROPPED THE POTION.” Kai shouts, Narcissa is almost 100% she heard Regulus laugh, “Excuse me Cissa,” She smiles at him as he walks out. She walks over to the couch and sits down and stares at the big thick thing that Kai was looking at, it was fascinating in her eyes because it looked so odd, what was it even used for? She hears a scream.

“JESUS WHO ARE YOU?” She hears Kai shout. She hears someone mumble an answer, she gets up and runs to where the couple were, to see a woman. This woman was Amelia Bones who was glaring at Kai, she had noticed that Amelia was covered in potions. “Amelia?” She asks raising her brow, Kai stares at her in shock. “Hello Love, I Uhm I’m covered in fucking potions because of SOMEONE.”  Kai stares at the two. “Its nice to see you again, Amelia would you like tea?” Asks Regulus, Narcissa stares at him incredulously. “Oh, yes please Regulus,” Amelia says. Regulus then walks away.

“Wait so why are you here?” Asks Kai. “Regulus invited me,” she shrugged. “Im not gonna ask how he even knew we are dating..” mumbles Amelia. “Regulus knows everything about everyone.” Narcissa shrugged. “Should we go sit down?” Kai offers, Narcissa nods and begins walking to the couch. They all sit down in uncomfortable silence.

Nice Cottage.” Says Amelia.

“Oh, uh Thank you?”

Regulus didn’t know how to feel with his brother (and cousin) wanting to go for lunch. He didn’t like the sound of it; his brother had called him a death eater in the making and a lost cause, but suddenly he wanted to talk? It irritated Regulus, greatly. There was a deeper reason as to why he was upset. His Brother’s Best friend, James Potter was his ex, and it made him angered and sad whenever he thought of the insufferable duo. Regulus was simply the placeholder brother till James came, and thats what had hurt the most, Sirius only needed him when he had no-one, but when James came; he was replaced, they simply shared the same last name.

Kai was starting at him with a sad look. He cupped Regulus’s face and dragged his thumb over Regulus’s cheek. Regulus brings his head up “Angel, you know it’s okay to not be sure about meeting Sirius, right?” And fuck. How did he know Regulus so well? “I know that” he murmured, Kai rose his brow questioningly, “I’m not quite sure I believe that,” Regulus stared at him, a million things to say racing in his head, but the thing he says is

“Why?” He asks, and Kai looks at him sympathetically, though he didn’t want pity. “Why did he call me all those awful things and then suddenly want to be brothers again?” His voice broke, tears pooling in his eyes, he was normally better at keeping his composure, but Sirius was his weakness. “Darling,” he began, “He doesn’t deserve you you as a brother, you’ve both did your wrongs I understand that but he took it out on you instead of trying to see it from your understanding,” said Kai, Regulus’s eyes were shining with tears, he couldn’t understand Sirius at at all, you don’t just walk in and out of peoples life’s.

“How about we watch telly, yeah?” Regulus nodded, sniffling slightly, Kai reaches for the telly remote and puts football on, Regulus’s eyes lit up “What is this?” He turns to Kai, who was smiling at him, “Its like muggle quidditch,” Regulus grins, “Thats cool!” Kai nodded, “It is, isn’t it?” He rsn his fingers through Regulus’s curly hair.

He smiled at Regulus, who was looking at the telly with shock and fascination, Kai always asked himself how he got such a kind boyfriend, though he wasn’t complaining, he never really could when it came to Regulus; he made him feel like there was no war, Pureblood racists ect. He makes it feel like it is just them in their own little world and he loved it, he also loved Regulus so very much, he didn’t think anyone could ever replace Regulus Black, ever.

“Why are they not flying?” Asked Regulus, Kai chuckled, “In the muggle world, you can’t fly, lovey.” He says before planting a kiss on Regulus’s head “Then how do you get around in the muggle world?” He exclaimed, Kai decided to mess with him. “We walk,”

“WALK?!”

“Yep! My feet hurt for hours!”
