Chapter Text
Hiro sat in the cluttered dormitory watching the robot clock on the adjacent wall, unpacked boxes lay discarded around the room. Suddenly the door burst open.
"Surprise!" Wasabi and Fred chimed in unison. "Woah, hey guys." Hiro said while leaping out of his chair to greet them, "What's with the big entrance?"
Wasabi chuckled, "Come on Hiro, it's little mans' first college dorm! Also, you forgot Baymax in Tadashi's lab again." He handed Hiro an inactive and charging Baymax.
"Hey! Over here!" a cheery voice sounded from down the hall, "Sorry we're late." Honey Lemon said apologetically as her girlfriend ran ahead. "Hey little dude, I heard you were staying at school dorms." Go Go said before blowing a ball of bubble gum.
Fred Slid in between her and Honey, "Yea, how are things with your roommate?"
"I was supposed to get a roommate?"
"Yeah dude, It's kinda dorm room 101." Fred replied. Honey walked forward to Hiro, who was clearly confused, and set a comforting hand on his shoulder, "Hey, no stress, They could just be late." she said.
"Yeah, it's probably that..." Go Go added, "Internship traffic, ya know?"
Hiro stared blankly at the clock again before speaking, "Maybe, but something doesn't feel right..."

"Leo, you better not be bothering Donnie again." an exhausted Ralph huffed from his spot on the couch. Leo smirked, "Common' their fiiine!" he replied, much to Donnie's annoyance. "So," Leo continued, "what's the new science project Dee?"
Donnie grumbled a bit before taking a sip of coffee and explaining, "For the last time, Nardo, it's an Einstein-Rosen Bridge Gateway, a theoretical wormhole that is concentrated into a portal that reaches across space and time with the help of my invention. This endeavor may change the face of scientific history forever!"
There was an awkward pause between the two turtles before the older twin broke the silence, "...if I can find a power source."
Leo stared at Donnie blankly before leaning away from the wall, "Ya know what? I'm going to regret asking, but why do you even need to build a portal machine when we have my mystic mojo?" he said while picking up a runaway screw and summoning his Odachi.
Donnie nearly knocked over his mug from spinning around to face his Twin Brother, "IT'S FOR SCIENCE LE-Oh my Shell, of course!" he exclaimed while whipping out a blank blueprint sheet and scribbled erratically on it while ranting on about some power converter that could harvest Ninpo Energy.
"Okay, well you go do that." Leo managed to say before slowly backing out of his brother's lab.
-(Hours Later)-
"NARDO, GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE!"
Without any further question, Leo ran through the lab doors and into Donnie's lab, "Geez, someone woke up and chose violence," he said, "so what do I need to do?" Donnie tossed his Brother a pin and began the activation sequence. In the corner where Donnie's conspiracy board used to be was a large circular machine, it was connected to several monitors by snake-like wires that twisted through the dimly lit room.
Leo glanced at the pin in his hand, "Uh, what do I do with this." The slider chuckled nervously to his Twin Brother, who was now standing in front of the mechanism.
"You will summon your sword and slide it into the energy converter," Donnie replied, gesturing toward the Rectangular machine to the left of the Portal. Leon summoned his ninpo, in a blue flash the pin was now a glowing odachi.
'Alright, let's just get this over with.'
His Stripes glowed as he slid the mystic weapon into the 'Energy Converter' slot, which emanated a purple hue. Almost immediately, the Portal frame illuminated the dark laboratory with indigo, the Blue-Purple light surged through the metal exterior as the center of the gateway hummed open.
"Yes! YES!" Donnie laughed as he stared into his creation.
'It was beautiful, soon everyone would understand! No way in a million years could magic ever accomplish this without his tec!'
"Uh, Don? What does' unstable molecule reaction' mean?" the Blue mutant looked toward his brother with an anxious smile, backing away from the portal. The portal began to spin faster as it exited the boundary of the portal frame, growing at an alarming rate.
Leo began to panic, "Donnie, GET OUTTA' THERE!"
But his warnings were unheard by his twin as the indigo light consumed the softshell, the circular portal becoming unsteady before bursting outward in an explosion. A cold wind whipped through the lab, knocking over equipment and sending the younger twin tumbling to the other side of the room.
Everything was fuzzy, Leo stared at the spot Donnie had once been standing as energy fizzed off the metallic rubble that had once been his brother's creation.
Leo put his hands on his ears, the previous blast seeming to have caused a sharp headache and ringing in his ears from slamming into the wall.
"Ugh, Don-" He groaned, slowly standing up and steadying himself, the room was spinning, he'd have to check for concussions later.
The piston door slid open as his older brother rushed in, "Leo!? Donnie!? Is everything okay?" he shouted in alarm before taking in the scene, "Oh geez..."
Ralph walked over to the distressed figure in the back of the lab, putting a comforting hand on his shell.
"Leo, Wheres Donnie? Is he okay?"
The response was a broken sob before the slider choked out "I don't know. I don't know. I don't n-*hic* I don't no. I don't know..."

The focus in Donnetello's eyes was beginning to return, but the throbbing headache refused to leave the groggy turtle in peace.
'Alright Donnetello, where are you...'
"Darn!" they exclaimed, The monitor on his wrist was barely functional as it seemed to pick up endemic signals.
'Some of my tech must have been pulled through the Gateway.' Donnie thought, hoping the dimensional travel didn't mess with the coding too much. The softshell analyzed SHELLDON before the robot finally reactivated and hovered after its creator.
Donnie wandered around the somber alleyway, cringing every time he stepped on an unfavorable and foreign texture, when something caught his eye.
"San Fransokyo Institute of Technology... amused laugh, I'm sure I can pull a few strings to see what that place has to offer." Donnie said while scanning over the pamphlet, "S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N, get me to the SFIT faculty web page."
"On it dude!" his son replied cheerfully, spinning around him a bit before activating the connection with the Battleshell's screen system. Donnie reached for the screen and immediately began to hack the system.
This was going to be fun.

Powering Off...
The mechanical limbs that connected to Donnie's portable tech lab retracted back into his battle shell as they dropped down from the dumpster lid they had been sitting on. Don't blame him, he liked being higher than everyone else.
"Whoa Dude, that cybersecurity almost got you!" S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. buzzed, the softshell hummed in consideration before dismissing his son's comment.
The Blue and Red glow of neon signs and Japanese lanterns lighted the damp alleyway. Month-old newspapers lay discarded near Donatello's feet, he picked up one out of curiosity, "'The Big Hero 6 stop former SFIT principal Robert Callaghan from committing mass destruction.' Well well well, looks like the Institute has some background."
The purple turtle smirked, scanning the paper and saving the Info to his files, and slipped on a dark purple hoodie that had been stored in their shell for emergencies. "Alright S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N, I believe I am ready to re-enter human society as an SFIT student," Donnie said while syncing his phone GPS with the Institute's location, "Classes don't start for another day or two so until then we should lie low, as unsanitary as that will be."
***Present Day***
Hiro was looking for a student, specifically his absent roommate. It's not like it was a big deal that they didn't show up for the program's orientation, but his vigilante senses kept telling him something wasn't right.
"Alright, Let's hope this works." He said a tried hand jammed a neon red hard drive labeled 'Override' into his computer. The screen flickered before pulling up the student profiles on the SIP exception database.
The sound of Baymax inflating could be heard from the opposite side of the room as the large robot walked off he's charger and over to Hiro's desk. "You are in possession of a hard drive exclusive to SFIT faculty," they observed, "Are you permitted to access such data?"
Hiro glanced toward Baymax before responding, "Sure, Let's just say I went through a lot to get this." Hiro leaned toward the screen as the on-campus student profile was transferred to the large screen.
"Donatello Vincenzo?" Hiro muttered, "I've never heard them, they were accepted into the SFIT and SIP by...huh, it's glitched out."
Just then, a video chat screen pops in front of Tello's student files, taking the young genius by surprise. I was Go Go.
"Hey, Hiro! We got a situation on Shio Street, near the abandoned Taiyaki factory." She said, sounding slightly out of breath, "I need you and Baymax to suit up and get over here ASAP, this dude has got some wicked tech."
"Will do," Hiro said, spinning out of his chair, "Common Baymax, we got a job to do."

Chapter Text
A Figure stood in the shadows of the dim factory, the purple light emanating from their mask in the shape of an error symbol. "Your late." the figure deadpanned as Yama entered the building.
"Just give me the package and I'll be on my way, your not the first glowy-faced creep I've dealt with." He growled, but the masked figure seemed unfazed. "Give you? No no no, you misunderstand." They replied walking out from their location in the shadows, "If you want my weaponized technology your going to have to pay up. Along with signing my thirty-page form confirming-you-will-not-plagiarise-it-or-any-components-inside."
Yama scowled at the figure's requests, "Listen 'Ryan'-"
"Von Ryan to you, Scoff. "
"Shuddap punk! If your gonna to be so cocky about this, I'll take your tech-Bombs myself." Yama managed to finish before the double doors of the factory slammed open, revealing the silhouettes of four new figures.
A large horned figure jumped forward and stuck a heroic pose, "STOP RIGHT THERE YAMA! and...OTHER GUY!"
Yama Cursed under his breath before making a break for the nearest hallway, "Oh now you don't!" a taller figure said and ran forward to pursue the Gangster. Von Ryan swiftly dodged out of the way, their Tech mask focusing in on their (her?) strange bag as they came into the light.
It was bright pink, like the rest of her outfit, and had a screen with the periodic table on it that she quickly typed on before the bag shot out a colorful ball of some chemical compound. 'Fascinating.' the disguised turtle thought before dashing forward and summoning his Tech-Bō, aiming for the horned figure. 'Possibly a lizard Mutant?'
"Fred, WATCH OUT!"
Donnie dodged a fiery blast as 'Fred' quickly whipped around to counter his attack. The second blast was deflected by and ice beam as the Tech-Bō took a form the resembled a cannon, "Cool-" Fred managed to say before freezing over.
Donnie extinguished the small flame that caught the the edge of his Black trench coat, unfortunately ruining the neon purple trim. "So." They said mockingly, "Who's next?"
The remaining two figures tensed into a fighting stance at Von Ryan's threat.
"Sorry guys, Yama got away..." the taller one had returned, her eyes switched between him and her frozen ally. Eventually, it was the Yellow figure the made the first move, dashing forward and flinging one of the discs on their arm. The disc was caught by a mechanic claw and discarded, the Masked mutant then lunged forward, Bō contorting into Mallet as he swung at the hero.
-
Honey Winced as her Girlfriend took the hit and tumbled into the nearby storage racks. "LEI!" she yelled out, rushing to Go Go's side, "I'm okay, I think." Go Go said with a wince. The Masked Figure let out a sadistic laugh as they lunged at Wasabi with a chainsaw.
"Thats it. Go Go, call for backup! I'll handle this." Honey Lemon said before she rushed towards the figure, but was stopped by a Purple robot Jumping down from the rafters above and landing directly in front of her.
"SHELLDON HAS ARIVED." the Bipedal robot snarked as they punched into their palm with a gauntleted fist, Honey gulped, trying to think up a corrosion formula for the machine's titanium exoskeleton. "An so has Backup!" Hiro announced from the doorway as Baymax landed before the Masked Figure. Honey Lemon felt a bit of relief to see that Wasabi had managed to escape the Madman's relentless attacks, and a bit of curiosity to see the chainsaw had shifted into a purple staff.
"Baymax! Capture them!" Hiro Ordered, the Robotic Nurse Hero complied, shooting a net from their palm. The Masked Figure dodged it and commanded their own robot to attack, "On it, Don Ryan!" 'SHELLDON' Replied.
"SHELLDON!"
The robot let out an exaggerated sigh, "Fiiiiiine, Von Ryan." they mumble before lunging forward. Despite the Bot's Small stature, the first clean hit they landed on Baymax was enough to make him stumble back a bit. The two machines exchanged attacks, Baymax blocked most of the ones that came his way while the smaller bot swiftly dodged Baymax's Attacks.
"You are quite small, a strong enough punch to your infrastructure could damage you, I do not want to hurt you." Baxmay stated.
"Oh yeah? Well too bad!" SHELLDON replied before jumping up to land a hit on Baymax's Visor, suddenly a spark surged through their body and the smaller robot let out an unhealthy buzz, rearranging it's attack to kick off Baymax's shoulders and landing close to the Masked Figure.
"dAh-D whA-zzzz-GOin-oN!" the Purple bot panicked as their form spasmed. The Figure cursed under their breath and scooped up the glitching bot with a surprising amount of care, their staff shifted into a grappling hook as they swung themselves into the rafters for a quick retreat.

Chapter Text
The bell at the cafe door jingled as Hiro walked through, The once-lively cafe now seemed barren with most furniture sold for extra cash. He leaned against the doorway and peeked into the kitchen, "Aunt Cass? I'm home," he said tentatively.
Cass walked quickly down the stairs to greet her nephew, Mochi followed closely while eyeing the tuna can in his aunt's hand.
"Hiro! It's so great to see you. Tell me all about school, don't spare a single detail." she announced as she grabbed a can opener from a nearby drawer, "Your a bit late, Did you have some SIP project after class?" Aunt Cass finished while setting down the open tuna can for an eager Mochi.
Hiro fumbled over his words at the comment, "W-what? Ha ha. Yeah! Of course, I was doing...that." He internally cringed at his aunt's confused face, "Uh... how has the whole 'Situation' been going?"
Cass sighed, "Honesty, I don't even know. The whole thing's been pretty confusing, First I'm on my way to paying the bank back, next thing I know insurance is screaming at me to pay up or shut down the cafe. It's like my account was sucked dry." She walked into the center of the cafe and placed a hand on her hip, "Not to mention business is unusually slow."
"Sorry Aunt Cass, I was hoping I could help you save up with the SIP but we haven't exactly gotten to the Internship part," Hiro replied from his location in the doorway, "Well, I'll go pick up the last of my stuff."
"Aw, look at you getting your own college dorm." His aunt smiled as he walked up the stairs to his room. Although it was mostly cleared out the lack of sunlight added to the dull tone of the room, Hiro set to work gathering the remaining belongings but paused when he came across a forgotten SFIT hat.
It wasn't the same hat from the night of the fire, but the painful memories were still there, it was almost as if Hiro could hear the fire alarm frantically sounding inside his head. Hiro tossed it back into Tadashi's room bitterly, tears threatening to fall.
'Stay strong Hiro, You're just here to pick up some stuff, don't make it a funeral party.'
He wiped away the tears and grabbed the moving box, looking back at his empty room a bit longer before turning away, there was no reason to linger.
The SFIT dorms were surprisingly busy for after-hours as students rushed to finish whatever project they had been working on during the day, it felt suffocating. Hiro eventually made it back to his dormitory without many issues.
He dropped the moving box at the foot of his bed, not bothering to take out and organize the half-complete robotics trinkets inside. Even then the uncertainty of his situation seemed to linger, this new villain was able to take out half his team with such ease, now Go Go had a cracked rib and he had no private place to develop the tech to keep up with Obake or 'Ryan'.
He only hoped Granville would go easy on him tomorrow. Hiro stumbled over to the mini fridge he had brought over the day before to grab a leftover noodle burger when he heard someone knock at the door.
"Fred, if you're asking me to reconsider on a lair the answer is still-" Hire started but cut himself off at the sight of a student he had never seen before, "uh...Can I help you?" he said with uncertainty clinging to his voice.
The stranger was only slightly taller than Hiro, they had umber brown skin and cold grey eyes and wore a dark purple hoodie with the hood up, a few short deadlocks poking out near the collar. "Are you Hiro Hamada?" they spoke blankly.
"Yep, That's me." He replied, feeling a slight pressure of anxiety at the presence of the stranger. They hummed in response before continuing, "I'm Donatello, I was supposed to be your roommate for this semester."
The name of his missing roommate immediately caught Hiro's attention, "Your Donatello Vincenzo? You were supposed to come to the SIP orientation three days ago."
Donatello fidgeted with a strange Purple studded ring before giving Hiro an unimpressed look, "Yes, well, I had other matters to attend to. I've simply come here to tell you I requested an individual dorm room and that you won't have to make space for a roommate."
"Donatello is correct," Baymax Stated as he waddled from his charger and towards the doorway, "According to S.F.I.T. dorm protocol, if there are enough dorm rooms and a student wishes to have an individual dorm room, the student that would be their roommate would also have the choice to live alone."
Hiro sighed in annoyance, "Thank you Baymax but I don't think we need to hear about this right now." he spoke before turning back towards Donatello, who was starring intensely at Baymax with a look of pure glee, "Hey are you okay there?" Hiro joked.
Donatello glanced at Hiro quickly before turning his attention back to Baymax, "Better than okay, look at this! Hyperspectral cameras? Advanced AI Database? This is so- Ohmegosh- DID YOU MAKE THIS?" Donatello practically had stars in his eyes, "You must be a Robotics major."
"Why yes, I do. But Baymax isn't mine, he's a Robotic Nurse that my brother Tadashi made." Hiro replied, smiling sadly at the last bit. Donatello's wide grin seemed to falter as well, "Yeah, well my brother Leo is sort of the medic of the batch, he would lose his odachi over this stuff." Donatello sighed, "Well I'm going back to my dorm, see you in class probably!"
For a second Hiro didn't realize the student was leaving already, "See you later Donatello!"
"Please, Just Call me Donnie."

And after I got better I had writer's block.
Chapter Text
Blank white ceiling.
Tasteless black Industrial Pendant Lights.
Off.
It's too cold.
-
Donnie had been awake hours before his alarms went off, laying in the dorm room bed was an improvement from the damp warehouses of downtown San Fransokyo, and unsurprisingly lacking.
There were no colorful LED lights that illuminated the room, there was no busy hum of old experiments and heavy machinery, and none of his brothers OH GOD HOW COULD I LEAVE MY BROTHERS?!
The slider practically rolled out of bed, sluggishly threw on a black jacket, and crouched down to retrieve his battle shell from its hiding spot under the bed. Donnie opened a compartment on the side of the shell and grabbed the ring inside.
Being a turtle of science, Donatello never wanted to even touch any mystic bullshit whatsoever. But there came a day when their curiosity got the better of them which led to him making an artificial Cloaking 'Ring', which he had completely forgotten about until approximately 37 Hours ago when he had been running diagnostics on his tech after S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. was immobilized. No matter if it was a breach of logical science, it came in handy with blending in with his fellow SFIT students.
Once he slipped the ring on, Donnie's appearance glitched for a moment before changing into a humanoid form. He pulled grey cargo pants over his black shorts, yawned, and then immediately left his dorm room to stumble toward wherever the Dinning Hall was supposed to be, for his required extensive amount of caffeine.
_
Coffee made everything feel better, the warm scent of the ground beans and the bitter taste of salvation filled Donitello's senses. There were fewer students in the brightly lit cafeteria than the slider had expected, and yet it was only a few minutes after sitting down at an empty table that he felt someone tap his shoulder. Instinctively, Donnie flinched away from the touch.
"Hey, Hands off the shell!" He snapped, whipping around to see who it was.
The student was unfamiliar to him, she seemed younger than most of the students at SFIT although visibly taller than Hiro.
"wha-? Ugh never mind! I'm just letting you know that you're not wearing a shirt." She said, giving him a side-eye.
"and?"
"and it's making other people feel uncomfortable."
"... AND?"
"Ju-JUST PUT ON SOME CLOTHS!" she stuttered before quickly walking away.
"I HAVE CLOTHES!" Donnie yelled in her direction, "EVER HEARD OF A JACKET SMARTASS!?" After that, the disguised mutant turned back to his now lukewarm coffee, cursing under his breath.
"Whoa, I think you majorly pissed off Carmi. Not like that's a bad thing though." a familiar voice said, Hiro sat in the adjacent chair.
Donnie groaned, "Great. More people." he stated flatly.
Hiro chuckled, "Not a morning person huh?" then noticed Donnie's sad cup of coffee, "Want me to refile that?"
Donnie looked up for a moment before replying "No no no. It's... uh, It's fine."
Hiro shrugged before standing up again, "Welp, see you in first period!" he said before turning to walk away, only to stop for a moment and say, "Oh, and put on a shirt under your jacket, Professor Granville might have an aneurysm if she sees you without one."

Ow.
yeah, no shit 'Ow'.
She supposed nothing quite hit like, well, an oversized hammer to the gut.
Despite GoGo's 'Glass half-empty' mindset, things could have been much worse than a nasty bruise covering half her torso. She could have broken her rib completely or split her head open when she hit the cold steel racks, Honey Lemon could have gotten hurt instead of herself.
GoGo tried not to think about that last one.
It has been a couple of days since the teams' run-in with that tech-heavy lunatic and GoGo still couldn't wrap her head around the sudden appearance of this 'Von Ryan' character. She sighed in frustration, her head smacking into the half-complete homework on the desk in front of her.
Did she mention that the others voted her out from hero work until she 'recovered'?
Fucking hypocrites. She thought sourly, It isn't even that bad!
GoGo's attention snapped back to the real world as the door to her apartment closed abruptly, followed by the clatter of keys being dumped on the kitchen counter.
"Aiko, Is that you?" GoGo spoke, cringing at her scratchy voice as she slowly got up from her seat.
"Sure is!" Honey Lemon replied brightly, "How are you doing with that physics homework?"
"You mean the massive pain in my ass?" GoGo deadpanned, leaning against the frame of the doorway between the kitchen and her bedroom.
Honey Lemon blinked in confusion before asking, "I thought that was a part of your mechanical engineering course, the one you enjoyed."
"Yeah well, I've just... had a lot on my mind," GoGo avoided.
"About that new villain?"
GoGo stayed silent.
"Come on," Her Girlfriend pressed on, gently grabbing GoGo's Hand and leading her to the sofa, "You know you can talk to me."
GoGo took a seat next to Honey Lemon, staring at the ground for a bit before responding, "It's just... scary, with all these low-life creeps I never thought we would have much trouble taking them down. And this guy just stopped one of my disks like it was nothing."
"GoGo it's not your fault a new villain got the jump on us," Honey Lemon tried to comfort her.
"It's NOT okay!" GoGo snapped, "If every 'new villain' gets an upper hand on me because we've never fought them before, then how am I supposed to protect you!?"
Honey Lemon's face fell at the revelations, "Oh Lei..." she turned to hug GoGo, accidentally brushing against her injury and causing the shorter girl to wince,
"How about I brew some tea to take your mind off this?"
GoGo nodded slowly, "Actually, can I have coffee?"
"Coffee?" Honey Lemon teased, "In the afternoon?"
"Don't patronize me," GoGo grumbled into her Girlfriend's shoulder. Honey Lemon snorted at GoGo's dramatics before slipping out of the embrace to start the kettle.
The taller girl turned on the coffee maker, "So do you want any milk with your 'lunchtime coffee'?" she suggested.
"No."
"Alright," Honey Lemon smirked, sneaking in some milk despite GoGo's wishes.
Eventually, Honey Lemon sat down on the couch again, sliding over GoGo's coffee while holding her own cup of 'Tea'. One could hardly call it tea with all the milk and honey she put in it.
GoGo stared into the darkness of the beverage, feeling the warmth of the mug against her hand before taking a sip.
yep.
She definitely put milk in this.

Donnie was approximately 6-inches away from beating the smug expression straight off of Krei's face.
If only he was a couple inches taller...
Welp! Surprise surprise! A crummy afternoon to top off a crummy day.
Donnie spun a blue ink pen over his knuckles and against his cloaking ring in an impatient expression, his eyes stayed fixed at the hem of his shirt (yes, he put one on eventually) and the edges of his jacket.
After he and Hiro had finished breakfast, they were put into separate class blocks for a stupidly long amount of time before the promised 'lab time' that Donnie had been hoping for. It was quite disappointing that he couldn't assess Hiro's tech skills during that time; he made a mental note to change the class placements so they would be in the same group next time.
Unfortunately, this plan backfired disastrously. In addition to sharing the same classes, Donnie was also stuck with the same internship.
"Here at Krei Tech Industries, I specialize in quality and revolutionary technology! Er- I mean 'we'."
Donatello felt like he was losing brain cells listening to the CEO blabber about his 'fantastic' and 'revolutionary' company as he and Hiro followed him around the building.
The three of them enter Krei's office as the man announced, "And here is where you two will be working!" while gesturing at the room.
The pen nearly snapped in Donnie's hand.
He almost said something, but Hiro spoke for him, "Are you sure about that? This internship was supposed to be technology-based, and no offense, but you're office isn't the best place to do that."
Alistair Krei frowned at the younger boy's statement, "Of course I'm sure. I'm not letting two brand-new interns mess around with Krei Tech products!" he clasped his hands together, "Now! Which one of you wants to get my coffee?"
"Sir, this wasn't in the description for-"
"Bup bup bup! Coffee Mr. Hamada."
Hiro rolled his eyes as he turned toward the door and walked past Donatello.
"I'll- uh... I'll go too actually," he announced, speed walking out of the door before Krei could respond.
Donnie wished he had brought his goggles and headphones today, listening to that buffoon of a CEO talk his ears off was worse than Nardo during the 'Magic Townhouse' incident. He supposed two egomaniacs don't go well together, but at least he actually knew how to develop technology (among other things) rather than sit in an office all day like a manbaby.
"So...Alistair Krei isn't the best boss, figures. I mean, I get him not letting new inters handle stuff that is given to high-level employees, but we're from S-fucking-FIT!" Hiro complained as they walked through the brightly lit halls of KTI, "I haven't seen you since this morning, Donnie. How are you? Sorry, I'm not very good at small talk."
Hiro had mumbled the last part, but Donatello had still heard, "Neither am I, 'small talk' is the laziest possible form of communication! Everyones always like
'yeah, I'm good. you?'
'yep.'
and then they're both silent for the rest of the conversation!"
Hiro laughed a little at Donnie's rant as they turned a corner and entered the break room, "I guess you're right. You learn more about people when they actually talk about stuff."
Hiro started the coffee maker as he spoke, the machine vrrrr-ed to life with an unusual humming noise as it displayed the 'heating' icon.
Donnie groaned, "Ohmegosh, now you sound like Mikey!"
Hiro looked up at Donnie, who was yoinking several 'free' doughnuts from the box next to the coffee machine.
"Mikey? Is that another brother of yours?"
Donnie choked on the doughnut he had shoved in his mouth, "Noh! I meam yesh bu-" he tried to say, his mouth still full. It took a few moments for him to swallow the pastry before he continued, "Yes, yes! He's my younger brother. Sorry, I'm not used to people talking about family."
You dumbass! What if you have an alternate version of you and your brothers here? You're supposed to keep your identity secret here, Donatello!
Donnie thought back to the evening prior with horror as he realized he had mentioned Leon as well. The names of two of his brothers were enough for anyone to make a connection.
Okay, calm down. Maybe he doesn't know our alternate selves, or maybe we don't have alternate selves. It's a shame, I really wanted to see youleftthemyouleftthemyourallalone my brothers again.
Hiro hadn't noticed Donnie spacing out as he finished brewing Krei's coffee. Donnie blinked back to reality as Hiro spoke again.
"My older brother, the one who made Baymax, died a few years ago. In a fire," He blurted, "It wasn't an accident either. Someone set fire to the building on purpose and my brother rushed in to save him right before the explosion. He got caught in the bast while his murderer escaped."
Donnie scratched his arm uncomfortably, the thought that one of his brothers could have died when Shredder had been attacking them made him sick. This mind thought back the the may times Raph saved him and his brother's shells at his own expense.
"Ah haha... that's more detail than I was expecting," Donnie said nervously.
Hiro gripped the coffee mug and laughed bitterly, his face twisted between anger and a manic smile.
"Sorry, I get worked up about it sometimes. Didn't mean to unsettle you."
Donnie stared at Hiro with concern, but quickly changed his expression back to his cold default.
"Hey, Don't worry about it bro. I've been through some messed situations too," he said cooly, "you should probably get that coffee to 'Mr. Krei' before you break the handle off."
Hiro loosed his grip on the mug and nodded. Donnie watched as Hiro left the break room, narrowing his eyes slightly.
The disguised turtle slipped into a deserted hallway and into a bathroom, taking off his concealment ring and storing his in his battle shell. It's mechanical arms reached into a compartment of the shell and pulled out his tech mask.
The front of the mask lit up with a purple error symbol once again as Donnie fit it completely onto his head. Next, he slipped on his black trench coat with neon purple trim (still burnt) to replace his 'commoner' clothing.
Now fully playing into his 'Von Ryan' persona, he melted the cover of the bathroom vent with his techno Bo and climbed through, knowing he would get caught by cameras if he went back into the hallway.
Now which way is the main warehouse...
The device on his wrist buzzed as the screen blipped open, showing him a map of the building. It must also be malfunctioning from the dimension jump. He would fix it at some point, but fixing SHELLDON was top priority.
He pulled up a list of components needed to allow Shelldon's code to function properly in this new universe. While running tests the night before, he had found that the reason for his son's malfunction was due to the universe's unusually high technological energy rather than the wormhole that got him here.
The vents eventually lead to a large warehouse of bulk, spare parts...of million-dollar technology.
Von Ryan tapped a small button at the top of his tech Bo and a small flashlight-looking device popped out. Ryan clicked the device on and shined it around the room.
[Scan complete: 13/15 of the needed materials found]
Placing the device back into its slot in the top of his tech Bo caused a screen to project out of the staff, showing where each of the items were. Von Ryan transferred the screen to the augmented projection system inside his helmet.
He stealthily crawled from the vent to a nearby rafter beam, creeping along it until he was above one of the parts he needed. He latched the claw of his grappling hook feature to the beam and repelled himself to the ground.
Snatch and repeat.
Everything was going smoothly, he had collected more than half of the needed components available in the warehouse.
And then he fumbled horribly.
As careful as he had been to avoid the tripwire sensors he still managed to activate one, which had sent out a silent alarm. One that was noticed by security as well as a certain hero team.
The door to the warehouse burst open. At least 5 security guards rushed in, with the laser-wielding Teal hero and the much smaller Purple hero close behind.
"Freeze!" they shouted collectively.
shit.
Chapter 8: Busted
Summary:
I'm sick, I'm tried, I couldn't think of a chapter name on my own. Have pity on me.
This chapter was in drafts for the longest time, sry for neglecting this fic.

Chapter Text
Ryan shifted his weight off of the metal beam and dropped down into the maze of aisles. Seven was too many for him to take on alone, but if he managed to cut the lights he might have a fighting chance. The augmented vision from his helmet laid down a path to the closest electricity panel.
Rushing past racks of unused tech, the masked turtle was nearly cornered by two guards. Von Ryan shifted his stance and dodged into another aisle right as the first guard lunged at him, causing her to crash into a wall. The second guard tailed him with a taser in hand.
Ryan breathed heavily as he tried to lose the guard, the tech parts in his battle shell weighed him down significantly.
I'd really like to save power, but...aw heck! LETS DO THIS!!!
The guard stared in shock as Von Ryan suddenly leaped up, with claw-like mechanical limbs emerging from his back and carrying him up the wall.
He smirked under his helmet as the claws launched him toward the electricity panel, drawing his tech Bo up like a bat and ready to slam into the panel.
CRASH
Suddenly, his Bo was knocked from his hands and sent straight into a far left wall. Von Ryan looked at his hands and back at the hero in front of him in shock.
"You Asshole! You could've broken that!" Donnie Ryan yelled as his mechanical limbs lowered him to the ground.
The teal hero landed across from him in a fighting stance, "That's an awful lot of concern from something you were about to smash into a different wall."
"Tch!" He hissed, It's going to be a lot harder to fight without my bo, but I don't think I have enough time to get it.
Von Ryan retrieved a small laser tool from a compartment in his battle shell, it was more of a backup since most of his tools were in his bo, but it would get the job done. The claws of his shell dug into the concert wall and launched Ryan upward, catching the pipe next to the electrical panel. He then turned on the laser cutter and started cutting away at the combo lock that kept the protective metal door shut.
"Hey! Lasers are my thing!" The teal hero complained from below. Ryan ignored this as he tore off the metal door and cranked down the main lever. One by one, the lights to the warehouse shut off.
Yes. YES! Okay, time to leave.
He pushed off from the wall, free falling for a few seconds of needed adrenaline before catching himself with the mechanical limbs. He ran across the warehouse, sliding through shelves and making his way to the red tracker light in his tech Bo.
When he was just about to grab it and make his escape, a large metal arm looped around his waist and flung him to the floor several feet away. The disguised turtle tapped the side of his helmet to turn on night vision, mentally kicking himself for not doing such an obvious thing earlier.
Von Ryan's opponents seemed to have night vision equiped visors of their own. He had already began calculating the best tactics to take the Robot and it's leader down when another punch knocked him back.
The smaller hero gave a motion with his hand and ordered, "Baymax, Make sure they can't get their weapon."
The flashy purple error symbol on his helmet glitched like the shocked expression it was concealing.
'Wait- Baymax? I swear I've heard that befor-'
Their train of though was broken as they had to dodge several more attacks. Him mind was spinning while he tried to get back to his Bo. He jumped to his target again, this time grabbing his tech staff, but he was pulled back by a magnetic feild that seemed to be caused by the leader of the heros.
He shifted his body to try and use the momentum to get in a good whack, but Baymax flew in and slammed a karate chop down on his shoulder.
"AAAARGH!!!" Ryan screamed, his helmet making the sound more robotic and disturbing.
He felt the metal gaurd of his battle shell crack, along with his shoulder. The pain was near blinding.
He braced homself for another blow, but to the shock of himself and theother hero, Baymax stepped back.
"What are you doing?" The smaller hero exclaimed, "knock them out!"
Baymax's core hummed, "They have been injured quite severely, any further harm would go against my original coding."
Donnie Von Ryan had taken this chance to make his getaway. Awkwardly propping his tech Bo on his uninjured shoulder and launching a beta test drill into the weakest wall his scan could find.
Hiro flinched at the sudden noise a looked between the assailant and his robotic companion.
"At least catch them, Baymax. They are getting away!" He tapped the comm on his helmet, "Wasabi, do you copy?"
"Loud and clear, Hiro" the comm crackled back, "I'll go around the back so they don't get far."
Meanwhile, Donnie ducked into an alleyway, changing back into his civilian clothes. His shoulder hurt too much to think clearly, so he layed against the wall and closed his eyes with and exhausted sigh.
Notes:
With the addition of my several Collector centric fics, you can probably tell my hyperfixation has shifted away from rottmnt.
I do plan on continuing this fic, I am just prioritizing my other fics rn.
