Chapter Text

Some people would dare to say that Amity Blight was ungrateful. She after all, had all the money in the world. She never lacked anything, and she could by what she wanted.

But those people tend to only look at the surface, because the fact is.

Amity Blight, hates her life.

Amity is the youngest of the three children of Odalia Blight. The powerful CEO of Blight Industries, a company focused on robotics, that delivered the best products in the hole country.

Her father was a mystery to her. Amity had never known him. Odalia spoke very little about him, and would always scoff or even yell at Amity when she had questions about him. Soon Amity stopped asking.

Odalia....well Amity did not know how mothers are, but she is sure they are not like hers.

Odalia is controling. Everything Amity does, she had to approve of it. Amity can not do anything without her mother telling her its ok, and when she does....the consequences would vary.

A harsh scolding usually happened, and really, that was the best. Some times, she would have to go to her room without eating, with Odalia locking the door, and Amity would spend the entire night sleepless (not that she sleeps that much on the first place) other times, she would get locked out of her room, and she would have to figure out where to sleep at night. But when Odalia got truly mad.....Amity would get beaten. She would get hit by a belt until she figured out what she did wrong, and promised to never do it again.

"I do this because I love you sweetie." Odalia said. "You know that, don't you ?"

Amity always answered yes, but in her heart, she did not know if that was true.

Aside from Odalia, Amity lived with her older siblings, Edric and Emira.

They were twins, and were extremely close to each other. But to Amity, it seemed like their favorite activity was to prank her. She was used to getting water thrown at her when she got home (which she later had to clean up from) or getting her food suddenly spicy. P

Granted, there were times the twins did stop. When they saw Amity was having a truly bad day, they would hold off, and even offer some words of comfort. As a child, she believed that they cared, but now...with all this pranks she is sure its just so that they don't get caught.

School sucks. Being rich means you are a target, and since Amity is only allowed to make friends with a select few, most of the students either ignore her or bully her.

And the friends she has, all of them are fake. They were selected by Odalia because of their status and the benefits it could bring to the Blight family if they associate with them. So no...they are not really friends, they are people Amity has to tolerate because if she doesn't, she would pay a harsh price.

Boscha specially was the worst. She is a control freak. If someone doesn’t do what they want. She would get physical with them, or demand that they were punished, and since her parents pay up for her everything, she gets away with anything she wants.

Really the only times in her life Amity did enjoy, was when she managed to escape to the library, or at her room reading.

Books were an escape to her. They help, just for a brief moment, to forget how truly horrible her life is.

Specially the Good Witch Azura. Those were her favorites. The magic in that world made Amity, for just a moment, feel like things could turn out ok.

But at last, she always had to return to reality. A reality she wished to escape dearly.

Amity had been on the bathroom when she heard laughing.

“Well if it isn’t the bookworm Blight.” A girl said.

“Can’t believe she is the sister of Ed and Em. They are cool, she is...a stupid book worm.’

Amity sighted. “What do you want,”

“Well you see. We are short on money for lunch today. And since you are rich and have more money than blood. We were thinking that you should pay for our lunch today.”

Amity sighted. She would normally just give them the money, but well...she had skipped breakfast today, and she was hungry.

“I’m afraid I need my money today,”

“I was hoping you said that. Girls, grab her.”

Amity was suddenly on the floor. As she felt her pockets being grabbed and her money taken.

“You might be on top of the money scale Blight. But on the school, you are on the bottom. I guess it’s time we taught you a lesson.”

The girls then started kicking Amity while she was down. Kicking in her back and her stomach.

Amity knew she could not yell for help. That would be shameful for a Blight. She could not fight back. A Blight can not make a mess.

So the best thing she could do, was lay in there and wait for them to be over.

“Hey Ams.”

Amity sighted, wanting to bang her head to her locker. Just when she thought this day could not get worst.

“Boscha.”

“Where were you at lunch ? I missed you,”

Yeah right. Getting beaten up, it’s better than spending time with Boscha.

She hates that they have to be “friends” she hates the times she is forced to hang out with her, or go to her sleepovers, or invite her to sleepovers Amity didn’t want to have.

“Busy,” was all she said. Closing her locker. She made to move, but Boscha held her.

“Wait a second. I am sure you heard of the upcoming summer dance.”

“Yes.” She said threw gritted teeth. Though she has no intention of going.

“And you also know, you are gonna go with me.”

“I’m sorry what ?”

“You heard me. In order to go to the dance, you need a date. And who better than my best friend than to be my date.”

Amity knew Boscha thought their friendship was true, but she never knew.....she felt like this.

“I..I don’t want to go the dance though.”

“Oh come on Amity. What better to come to the dance than me ?”

“But I...”

“I mean, it think it’s about time we got this to the other level. We elevate this friendship, to girlfriends. What do you say ?”

“I....I...”

“I knew you would accept. Now come on, give me a kiss.”

Boscha made it so that their lips touched. And at that, Amity had to react.

She slapped Boscha away. And ran the hell out of there.

She had no idea Boscha felt like this. That she...loved Amity.

How could this happen. Amity wanted nothing more than to get away from her and now...this happens.

“You are going to the dance with me Amity !” Boscha called. “After all, your mom won’t allow anyone else to date you. Not that anyone would. You will be mine one day Amity, you’ll see, you will be mine one day !”

When Amity got inside her home, she suddenly felt wet.

She sighted, of course, as if this day was not bad enough.

“Wow how, sorry Mittens.” Edric said.

“Yeah, we didn’t see you there.” Emira said.

“Yeah liked anyone else comes in this door,” she groaned.

The twins just snickered.

Amity groaned, going to the bathroom to dry off.

“Hey Mittens, you have bruises. Is all ok ?” Emira asked.

“Like you care.”

Emira looked like she was gonna say something else. But..

“Amity.” Odalia called. “Come here right this second.”

Amity turned white. And even her siblings gasped.

Shit...

Amity slowly enters her mother’s study.

“Hello the mother.”

“Close the door dear.”

Amity gulped and closed the door.

“Are those....bruises...did you get in a fight again ?”

“It...it’s nothing for you to worry about mother. There was no problem and I raised no issue.” Amity said, sweating nervously.

“Hm....see that you do. Now I don’t know if you know this, but your report card for the end of the school year arrived.”

“Oh...”

“Most of your grades were A+, you even improved on chemistry. Good job.”

“Thank...thank you mother I...”

“But. There was something concerning. I saw some A here and there and in Algebra, you got a B+, a B+ Amity, What do you have to say for yourself !”

“I....I tried mother it’s just...I’m not good at math and...”

“That is not excuse young lady. Your are a Blight, and you are meant to be perfect ! Now, I will hire a math tutor for you on the summer, and please tell your teacher if he can send you extra assignments for the summer, will you dear ?”

Amity knew better than to argue. “Yes mother.”

“Good girl.”

“Is that everything or...”

“No. There’s is one thing more. I got a call from Boscha’s mother.”

Amity glupped. She should have known.

“She said you hit her ! Why would do that Amity ? Why would you hit your best friend ?”

“I..mother, allow me to explain...”

“Well it better be a good one. Do you know how they will embarass me on the next meeting !”

“Mother is just...Boscha was trying to kiss me and I...”

“She was trying to kiss you...”

“Ye..Yeah. She told she loved me and she wanted to go to the dance with me but...”

“Oh that is wonderful !”

“Wh...What ?”

“This is just what I need. If you and Boscha. Become something, I could annex her mother’s company, and finally be a true Titan of industry ! I can even phrase it as family connections. That is so great Mittens. Go with the dance with her, and date her !”

“But...But Mother. I don’t like Boscha like that ! I don’t even like her as a friend !”

“It’s the best for the family Amity. You know that is a priority.”

“It’s the best for you !” She yelled. “I hate Boscha, she’s controlling and she is..”

SLAP !

Without warning. Amity was on the floor.

“What did you say young lady ?!”

“Mother I...I’m sorry...”

“You better be. I do all of this for you, and you talk to me like that ! Now you are gonna call Boscha and tell her you’d love to go to the dance with her and that you will date her.”

“But Mother...please..I don’t want too..”

“You will Amity, won’t you ?”

“But...I ...I want to choose who I date...mother please.”

“Sweetie. This is the best for you, trust me.”

“NO ! It’s the best for you ! You don’t care about me, all you care is about yourself and..”

Amity didn’t get to finish before her mother slapped her again.

Then Odalia grabbed her shirt, and threw her to a drawer on her office.

Amity felt her nose start to bleed.

“YOU DARE CALL ME SELFISH. AMITY BLIGHT I BETTER NOT HEAR THAT AGAIN, OR ELSE...”

“I...I’m sorry...mother.”

Odalia huffed. “For that alone I should make you skip dinner...but. I guess that rearrangement I made to your room will work.”

“Wha...what ?”

“Those fantasy books you got yourself into. They are distracting you. I won’t be surprised if they are to be blamed for your behavior.”

No...no her books...it was all she truly had !

“Hmph. I think I had enough of you. Go on now, and I better not see you before dinner.”

Amity rushes away, scared to death of the woman she has to call mother.

She went to her room and saw in horror. All of her books, gone. Her room was empty except for study books and her bed.

There was nothing..she took it all. She took her escape.

“No...”

Amity felt to her knees and cried.

Why....why had life cursed her like this. Why had life given her to people that either saw her as a pawn or hated her.

It was not fair. Why did this happen to Amity ! Why....just why ?

Her door was open behind her.

“Mittens ?” Emira called. “Are you....are you ok ?”

“We heard yelling...we wanted to check in you.”

Amity did not turn to them.

“Mittens.” Emira said, approaching her. “Are you...”

“GET OFF ME !” Amity yelled, slapping her sister’s hand away.

Ed And Em looked at her in shock.

“DONT TOUCH ME, YOU PRANKED ME ENOUGH, I KNOW YOU HATE ME SO BACK OFF !”

“Amity...we don’t hate you, we...”

“YES YOU DO. ALL YOU DO IS PRANK ME AND MAKE ME MISERABLE. I KNOW YOU HATE ME, JUST LIKE EVERYONE IN THIS STUPID WORLD !”

“Amity please, just...”

“I HATE YOU !” Amity yelled. “I HATE YOU BOTH. I HATE MOTHER, I HATE BOSCHA, I HATE MY LIFE ! I WISH I HAD NEVER BEEN BORN, SO JUST LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE !”

With that, Amity rushes past them.

“Amity Wait, it’s raining !” Edric yelled.

“Amity Don’t !” Emira yelled. “I’m sorry ! I....Amity !”

But Amity didn’t hear them. She rushes out of the house.

Amity went threw the trash can.

“Please, it has to be here ! Please !”

Then, she finally saw it.

Her Good Witch Azura book.

Amity grabbed it and hugged it tightly.

“It’s not fair...it’s ....I just want...someone to love me.”

That’s all Amity Blight wanted. Someone, for someone to exist out there, that truly loves her.

Then...Amity felt the book being grabbed from her hands.

“H...hey !”

She looked up and gasped.

It was a raven.

A raven was holding her book.

The raven flew off with Amity’s book.

“Hey Wait, give it back !”

Amity rushes off after the raven, going into the woods.

“Give the book back you stupid bird !”

The bird didn’t stop, just kept going.

“Please, it’s all I have !”

Amity kept running until she tripped.

“AH !”

Amity rolled threw the ground for a while. And then...

She felt the rain stop.

“What the ?”

Amity looked around and saw a sunny sky, one that clearly wasn’t there.

She looked back and...she could not see her home.

But rather..a place she had never even seen.

“What...what is this place ?”

Then she heard the raven get closer.

The bird flew to her face...and dropped the book on her hands.

“Tha...thank you.”

The raven chipped at her.

“Ravin ! Where are you ?”

Suddenly, from the woods came someone.

It was a black haired lady, with pale skin, and eyes of different color. One green, one grey. She also had glasses on.

But what Amity noticed the most. Were her pointed ears...

“There you are you bird....Wait as second...is that....A HUMAN !”

The bird then turned to the lady and...it was like they were talking.

“You brought her here ! You can’t just bring humans !....you.....fine....I guess.”

The lady turned to her.

“What’s your name, child ?”

“I....I’m Amity. Amity Blight.”

“Amity....well then....my name is Lilith, and welcome to the Boiling Isles.”

Chapter Text

There was a time where the name Lilith Clatwthorne used to be on everyone's head.

Head of the Emperor's coven. Leader of the scouts, only bellow people like the Emperor himself, or the Cyan Guard.

But now...now Lilith is nothing more than a rouge wild witch.

What's more, she is cursed. Now known as, the Raven Lady.

One would think they would curse fate for this. But Lilith did not do that.

No, she knew very well all of this, was her own fault. That she can only blame herself for this.

So Lilith just accepted her life as a potion maker on the dark market.

Her potions were top notch, specially since she took ingredients for the human realm.

Of course, she always went out of her way to open it on the woods, unlike certain someone else. She knows its best to be careful, Belos is after the door after all.

She usually sends her raven palisman, Ravin, to get the stuff for her. More discreet. Ravens are fairly common there.

Sometimes though, Ravin would bring a suprise to her.

She was used to it....but she was never used to it being this big !

Because now face to face, she had a human !

It was clear a female human child. Her hair was green, but even from a simple glance, she could tell the hair had been dyed. She had golden eyes (Lilith swears she has seen eyes like those before, but she can't remember) and a pale face. She was wearing a black long sleeved dress, with purple pants.

"Ravin, why is a human here ?" Lilith asked her palisman.

The bird tweeted at her.

"You brought here here, on propose ! Why ?!" Why in the world Ravin would have brought this girl, to a place she could not comprehend ?

The bird said to her, that the answer she wanted, she would have to get from the child herself.

Lilith has never been the best with kids. Edalyn had always been better at that, hence why she had an apprentice.

Lilith looked at the child again, and opened her eyes in a bit of shock.

Bruises.

The child had bruises all over her face.

She looked at Ravin again, who nodded.

"Ehem. What is your name, child ?"

"Amity...Amity Blight." She replied nervously."

"Well Amity. My name is Lilith. Lilith Clawthorne, and welcome, to the Boiling Isles."

"The....Boiling Isles...I never heard of this. Which part of Gravesfield is this ?"

"Oh you are mistaken. You are not in your town. In fact, you are not in your world."

"ANOTHER WORLD !"

"Or dimension, or how you want to call it. This place, is separate to where you humans live. This, is a land of witches, demons, and beasts."

"You are bluffing...magic is not real."

Lilith raised an eyebrow. "Am I ?"

With that, she made a spell circle. and fire came out of it. She made another spell and this one, water came out of it.

"Wow." Amity said. "You...you are a witch. A REAL witch ! I....I can't believe this. I've read books but..."

"I assure you, a lot was inspired by this work. Our ocean connects to yours so, sometimes items leak.

Lilith took a look at the book Amity was holding. Isn't that the book that Edalyn's apprentice loves so much ?

"Although, sometimes I find it offensive on how your people look at us. That book....Harry Potter is it ? What a disgrace. No one but babies use wands. At least that movie with the....Doctor Strange guy got it better, but still far off."

Lilith realized she was getting off topic.

"Look Amity. What are you doing in the isles."

"Hey, I did not come here on propose. Your bird took my book ! I just wanted it back."

"I see......well I apologize for Ravin. He can be very curious. I will gladly take you home....just not now I am afraid."

"Oh..."

Lilith hid her suprise but....was it her imagination or was the kid...actually not upset by that.

"Anyway....the reason is. Someone that its...not good, could sense the door if its opened too much. So I must wait until nightfall at least to open it again."

Lilith summoned the case that had the door, and she grabbed it, hiding it away as soon as she could.

"What is that ?"

"This is what holds the gate to the human realm. It is what will get you home eventually. Now, until then I should just find somewhere safe to let you stay while we wait. Ok, I think we need to go home."

With that, Lilith started walking towards her home.

"Come along child, we don't have all day."

Amity nodded and walked a bit behind her. Looking around her surroundings.

Lilith shook her head. "Ravin...what did you get me into ?"

Amity could not believe her own eyes.

Magic was real. That woman, Lilith. She had performed magic right in front of her !

She had thought of magic as a fantasy, something that came out of books.

But in front of her, stood a real witch. Someone that could make spells and all kinds of stuff ! Someone that could do things Amity could only dream off.

The fact that she was in another world was, outstanding. She never imagined something like this could ever happen to her.

A world with no Boscha. A world with no....Odalia. It sounded amazing.

"Here we are." Lilith called.

In front of Amity, stood a house right in the middle of the woods.

The walls were grey, and the roof was blue. There were big windows at the top of it.

Amity and Lilith walked to the door when suddenly....

“And who is this ?”

Suddenly, a raven faced tube came out to check on them.

“WHAT THE HELL IS THAT !” Amity yelled.

“Oh this is Black Claw, he is the demon that protects the house.”

“Oh....ok ?”

“Are my eyes deceiving me ? Is that a human Lilith ?”

“It is. This is Amity Blight.”

“Well it is a pleasure to meet you Ms. Blight.”

“Thanks...” god this was weird.

“Lilith. Why is she here ?”

“I’m just keeping her here for her safety. Until I can open the door for her again. As for how she arrived, ask Ravin.”

“I see...he brought her here on purpose....hmm. Say Lilith.”

“Yes Ravin ?”

“Those bruises...where did she get them ?”

“She had them when I found her. Ravin said she had them before coming here.”

“Hmm. Something feels...off. You better tend those bruises and....maybe try to find out where they came from.”

Lilith sighted and nodded,

“Say Amity, I cant help but notice the bruises on your face.”

“Oh...”

“Mind if I fix them up ?”

“You can do that ?”

“Healing is not my forte, but I can try.”

Lilith signaled for Amity to seat beside her.

Amity nodded and sought at the couch.

Lilith extended her arms, and her hands glowed dark blue.

Amity felt the pain from the bruises suddenly start to decrease.

“May I ask where you got this from ?”

“I....I fell down, when I chased Ravin.”

“Those are more bruises than a simple fall child.”

Fuck. Amity didn’t want to go out and say about her mother....

What would Lilith think ? No no....

Well maybe she can tell a half lie ?

“Bullies. At school. They are the ones that did this. I assume that you guys have schools.”

“Oh yes. We got schools and we got bullies. Though no one here is allowed to end...like this. You humans are very smart, yet at the same time, very dump.”

“You can say that again.”

“Pardon ladies, but it seems we have another problem.” Black Claw said, “it’s raining.”

“Of all the times.” Lilith said, standing up.

“What’s with the rain ?”

“Our rain is not like yours. In here, the rain is Made of boiling water. The house can resist it but it hurts Black Claw, so I need to create a shield so he doesn’t get hurt.”

“Oh...can I watch ?”

"Sure. Its not that impressive though."

"I never have seen magic until now, so for me, it is."

Lilith looked at her for a moment, and nodded. She went to the door, and Amity behind her.

"Stay in doors little one." Black Claw said, grabbing Amity with his beak. "Remember, the rain boils."

"Oh right, sorry. Not used to it..."

Amity stood at the porch, and look in wonder at how Lilith worked.

She could not believe this place existed, that magic was actually real.

Yet somehow, in a way.....it felt....nice.

Like this place....had been calling to her.

2 hours later, Amity was asleep at the couch.

Lilith was busy making dinner, so it left the demon and palisman to talk.

"Be honest Ravin, why have you brought this human ?"

The raven twitted at him.

"You felt that she was not safe back in the human realm ?"

The bird nodded at him.

"Those bruises....I don't think they just came from bullies. There were too much."

Once again, Ravin agreed. The bird twitted so much.

"You think....she can help Lilith ?"

The bird nodded exited.

"I see your point. I mean, Luz did help Eda out, a lot. But Eda is more open than Lilith is."

Ravin twitted again.

"My dear Ravin. You are aware that the only thing keeping Lilith from redemption....is Lilith herself."

Ravin dropped his head sadly.

"That said...I can see your point. I guess we should wait until....."

Black Beak heard something aproach.

"Shit...Coven Scouts..."

Amity felt herself being shaken from her sleep.

"Huh....what is happening."

"Wake up little one." Black Claw said. "You must take cover."

"What, why ?"

"Emperor Scouts have surrendered the house !"

"Emperor Scouts ?"

"The Boiling Isles are ruled by a man named, Emperor Belos. The scouts are his henchmen, that do everything he asks for. Lilith used to work for the Emperor, but has sense defected and now is wanted by him."

"Why did she leave the Emperor ?"

"I can't say much, as that is something only Lilith can tell. However, I can say that the Emperor is NOT a good man. That man has a darkness in him, one Lilith eventually saw."

"0h."

Amity looked at the window to see Lilith fighting the scouts.

"It looks like she has no trouble."

"Well Lilith is a powerful witch. Not anyone can head the Emperor's Coven after all."

Amity saw in wonder as Lilith continued to fight.

"Wait....look behind her, they are gonna ambush her !"

She had spotted some scouts, getting closer to Lilith from behind.

Amity rushed outside, ignoring Black Beak's yells at her to stop.

Amity rushed in and tackled one of the scouts. Making him yell in suprise.

"Hey !"

The noice got Lilith's attention, who looked around.

"An ambush !" Lilith growled, making fire spells at the scouts. "I swear all of you scouts are getting more pathetic with each time. Except Steve of course."

The scouts looked at each other.

"RETREAT !" One yelled, running away for their lives.

Lilith sighted, and turned to Amity.

"That was incredible stupid of you !" Lilith yelled.

Amity flinched, she knew very well what happens next, so she braced herself.

This was caught by Lilith, who quickly calmed down.

"But....you did save me....thank you."

With that, she turned back and left to her home, leaving Amity in shock.

She...did not hit her. Amity is used to being hit....

Lilith did not do that.

"Well. I guess it is safe enough now." Lilith said, opening the portal. "Farwell Amity, and thank you, for what you did before."

Amity however, did not move.

This was her way home but.......Amity wasn't sure she wanted to go back.

What was there to go back. To her mother, who would hit her for anything that she did wrong. To Boscha ? A girl she hates but will be forced to date if she goes back. To her siblings that hate her ? To a father she does not know about ?

"I can't keep the portal open for long Amity." Lilith said.

"Its just....I....I don't have anyone to return to."

"I am sorry...what ?"

"You heard me... No one really wanted me....I have no one. So...I was wondering if..."

"No."

"But.."

"No. Listen to me child. I am not saying it to be mean. Those scouts, are nothing compared to what is after me. The Coven Heads, the Cyan Guard, not to mention the Emperor himself, all of them are after me. If they catch you, you could be seriously hurt, you could die ! Besides.....I bet there are other people better to be with than me."

"Its better than being alone."

Lilith looked at her.

"Ms. Lilith please. I...I know its dangerous, and I know that...I am just a human. But this....this place as weird as it is, feels more like...like I belong here, rather than back home. There, I have no one. I get beaten up all day, sometimes I can't even eat ! and....I just...I just don't want to return to that...please. I can even try to learn magic !"

"You, learn magic, you are a human ! There is no way for humans too."

"Actually Lilith." Black Claw said. "I believe that there is. If I recall correctly, you yourself learned of the acts of glyphs at the Emperor's coven. Maybe...maybe those could work. Besides...if she has Knowhere to go...you can't just send her away."

Ravin tweeted in agreement.

Lilith closed her eyes.

"I can't believe I am actually doing this. You, will listen to EVERYTHING I say. You follow my rules, and you will help out here. And if you do that......then I will figure out how to teach you magic. Deal ?"

"Deal !"

Lilith sighed. Closing the door.

"Black Claw, see that the child has somewhere to sleep. Its been a long day and I am tired."

"Of course."

"I have some human clothes from my sister's business. Tomorrow we can see what feets. Until then...follow Ravin and he will show where you stay."

"Of course Ms. Lillith...and thank you."

With that Amity left with Ravin.

"Dear Titan...what have I gotten myself into."

Chapter Text

It has been 4 days since Amity moved in the Demon Realm.

Her days were divided in between learning what she could learn, and helping Lilith in her business.

“The Boiling Isles is a land made in the bones of a dead Titan that once rules this land. All the magic comes from him. Now magic is divided in 9 types. Bard, Beast Keeping, Potions, Plant, Ilusión, Healing, Oracle, And Abomination. Each type has a coven dedicated to them. When a witch becomes of age, they must join one of the covens.”

“What happens after they join a coven ?”

“The witch recibes a sygil based on the coven they wish to join. After that, their magic is bijded so that they can only perform magic based on their chosen coven, though basic spells like fire and ice are still used by all. The only ones allowed to use all types of magic are those who manage to join the Emperor’s Coven. The top of the top.

“That sounds....stupid. No one is allows to use all types of magic except a select few ?”

“I....I used to believe in the Emperor and his system. But...later revelations showed me the wrong of it. But that’s enough of that. We still need to go over the basics.”

Amity liked to learn. She really did, and it seems Lilith knew very well all she was taking about.

But....she would like some practical learning, instead of just theory.

When it came to helping Lilith around, Amity was to examine what Ravin brought from the human world, and see what she could use on her potions. Like turns out rubber and glue could actually be good ingredients in patching potions.

“Have you ever made a love potion ? Are they even a thing.”

“Love potions are a thing, but they are highly ilegal. Even a criminal like me or my sister refuse to use them. They are basically a drug that force someone to love someone that doesn’t want them that way. And if it goes...farther, that’s rape. It’s one of the laws everyone agree with.”

“I...Yeah that makes sense.”

Amity had once tried to ask Lilith about the sister she has, but Lilith refuses to speak about her. Telling her that their relationship is complicated.

It reminded her of Edric and Emira. She wonders what they are doing now, have they searched for her ? Do they even care that she’s gone ?

Sometimes, Amity was to walk around the woods to find somethings Lilith listed of while she was in town. Lilith still didn’t want her on town with fear on causing a commotion.

Today was one of those days, as Amity walked around.

“Fairy spit, am I supposed to get...Fairy spit on this bottle ? I’ve never even seen a fairy !”

Amity grumbled, But then, she heard voices.

“Come on Hunter, you can do it !”

“Easy for you to say ! Tests are coming up and you are the best at your track, while I am the absolute worst !”

Curious. Amity hid in some bushes to see. What was happening.

In front of her, she found two young witches, who looked like her age.

The first was a boy with golden hair and red eyes. He wore a some sort of black uniform, with pink sleeves and leggings.

And the second.

Oh god....

The second was a girl with brown hair, and brown eyes. She had the same uniform as the boy, except that her leggings and sleeves were blue instead of pink.

And she was...beautiful.

Amity has known for a long time she’s a lesbian. Ever since she’s a little kid, she has been attracted to woman. Lucky for her, Odalia didn’t actually mind, as long as the chosen girl fit alll her standards, which as for now that was Boscha and....no.

But this girl, just by looking at her, she was the opposite of Boscha.

When Amity saw Boscha, she felt a sickening cold and a wave of disgust, that told her to run away as fast as she could. When she sees this girl, she feels warm and....content. Like A,it’s wants to get closer to her.

Lilith had told her to avoid attention, but Amity could just...not move away.

“Hunter....come on man, it’s clear you are not happy in the abomination track. You should switch up.”

“You know I can’t Luz ! My father was so happy when I joined...I can’t do that to him.”

So that’s her name. Luz....

“Yeah but....Wait....you hear that ?”

“I hear nothing, why ?”

“I think someone is spying on us.”

Oh shit.

Hunter looked around. “I think you’ve been hanging out with Eda way to long.”

“Hey, Eda is a wonderful mentor and...”

“She’s also a criminal.” Hunter deadpanned.

“And she has taught me a lot. Like when I am being watched. Now if you would excuse me.”

Luz made a dark blue spell circles and blue fire came out of her hand.

“Whoever is there, show yourself !”

Knowing she had no way out, Amity knew she had to come out. Lilith would not be happy.

“Wait !” She revealed herself. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to over hear, I’m sorry !”

Luz looked at her and gasped.

“No way....round ears....you are a human ! An actual human ! Hunter, you are seeing this right ?”

“I am.”

“Oh my god. I need to text Skara now, she is gonna have a heart attack when she learns of this !”

“Eh Luz. Maybe we should...talk to her first.”

“Right right. Sorry. Hi there human, what’s your name ?”

“I’m Amity. Amity Blight.”

“Well Amity. My name is Luz. Luz Noceda ! And this right here is my best friend, Hunter Deamonne.”

“Nice to meet you.” Hunter said, shaking her hand respectfully.

“Same.”

“So....What is a human doing in the Boiling Isles.” Luz asked,

“Well...I got lost and...someone has been helping me while I am here.”

“Oh, well I’m sorry you got lost. But thankful someone is helping you. Who is it by the way ?”

“Eh....Lilith Clawthorne.”

Amity then realizes her mistake, she had just outed Lilith !

But Luz had clearly heard her.

“Wait. Lilith....the Lilith Clawthorne, was the one that took you in ! I can’t believe it. I thought she was a loner !”

“You...know Lilith ?”

“A little. I’ve only seen her a couple of times. Her youngest sister Eda, is a close friend of my mom, and she’s my mentor.”

“Hey can you.....please not tell anyone. She’s hiding and...”

“Hey, Eda is more wanted than Lilith. And hunter and I have known of her for a while. You’re secret is safe. Right Hunter ?”

“Yeah sure, we won’t tell anyone. Except maybe Skara but she’s aware of Lilith as well.”

“Skara ?”

“Another friend of ours. She loves all stuff human. You are gonna love her.”

“Oh. Well. I don’t want to interrupt what you were doing so...”

“Nah no worries. We were about done with our Homework.”

“Yeah. Besides, Luz will ace her test, while I am destined to fail mine.” Hunter deadpanned.

“Tests...Wait, you guys are wearing school uniforms ?”

“Yep. This are the uniforms of Hexside School for Witches and Demons, or Hexside for just short. Hunter and I are both students there. See the color of our sleeves, that represents the track we study at. My dark blue means I’m in the healing track, while Hunter’s Pink means he is on the abomination track. A track he should not be at !”

“ACH. I told you Luz. I can’t change tracks !”

“Come on Hunter ! It’s clear your passion is on another track ! More specifically, Beast Keeping. You love it and are good at it. Why not change it ?! ”

“Eh excuse me. Can I ask...if you don’t like your track, why not change it ? Or is that not allowed ?”

“Changing tracks is allowed but....I can’t. My father is the head of the Abomination coven. If he learns I switch track. He might....he might decide adopting me was not worth it.”

“Hunter, Darius loves you. He won’t care, so long as it makes you happy.” Luz said gently. And besides, isn’t your uncle the head of the Beast Keeping Coven ?”

“Yeah but...I just....ACH. Whatever. You can only change tracks at the beggining of the semester and it’s not time yet Its not like this is gonna help me pass the exam !.”

"Yeah, I guess that is an issue."

Amity to a point, understood Hunter. Exams were always a stressing time for her. If she did not get an A+, her Mother would get mad at her. The only ones she did not care about was gym class (Emira was already giving the family good name with her rising swimming career, so Amity could relax there. Same went with music. Edric was already the star player on the school band, so again, Amity didn't have to focus on that. Anything else though, it was pure perfection, or punishment.

"I understand. My...mother, she also expects a lot of me, back in the human realm." Amity said.

"I don't need a perfect score. I know that is impossible. I just....I need to pass this test."

Well that is less than Odalia asked for her.

Luz held her finger on her chest.

"Hey....I have an idea." Luz turned to Amity. "Say..how about you help us out ?"

"Me !"

"Luz, what the hell are you doing ?" Hunter asked.

"I got an idea. We get Amity covered in abomination goo, and we have her be your abomination. We make it so that no one recognizes her. Since she is a human, Bump won't be able to detect her."

She turned back to Amity.

"I of course, will do what you want in return. There is something you must want that I can help with ? After all, I am the best healer at hexide !"

Well...

"I've been trying to learn about something called glyphs....but information is very little. I do want to try to do magic."

"A human doing magic !" Hunter laughed. "Hah, that sounds ridiculous....OUCH !" He yelled when Luz punched him on the arm. "What the hell Luz !"

"For your information my friend, it is possible, and Amity has the right idea. I don't know a lot about glyphs myself, but Eda does know about them. You help us, and I'll get you all her notes on them."

Amity knew this sounded stupid. Lilith asked her not to bring attention. But....when she looked at those warm brown eyes....something on her just...did not allow her to say no.

"Fine then...we have a deal."

Then she remembers why she was outside on the first place.

"Shit, I still need to find a fairy for Lilith."

"You need a fairy." Hunter asked. "The spell to attract them is easy. I guess I can help you for laughing at you."

"I just need the spit." Amity said, handling Hunter the jar.

Hunter nodded and took on to the woods.

"Just watch he is a natural in this." Luz said, gently patting her arm.

Amity watched in wonder as Hunter used his magic to summon a fruit, and sire enough, one of those creepy fairies came in.

He qucikly but gently grabbed her, and actually got the spit easily. Last time, Lilith was almost unable to do so.

Luz was right, he was a natural on this.

"Im here." Amity announced when she got inside the Raven House.

"Oh Amity, did you get everything on the list ?"

"Yes Mam." She said, handling her all she asked.

"Hm. Good girl. You must be hungry. I know we are still figuring out what you can eat here, so Ravin grabbed some food from the human realm to you."

"Thank you....I...I must say something."

"Hm."

"I came across two witches today. Two of...my age."

"You....you did not say anything, right ?"

"I...it slipped by...I'm sorry."

Lilith went to say something, but Amity quickly spoke.

"But one said she knew you personally ! Luz Noceda !"

At hearing that, Lilith instantly relaxed.

"You met Luz ? Hm. Fine then. I guess there is no issue. Luz has in fact known of me and the Raven House for a while now. And I guess the witch with her was Hunter ?"

"Yes, it was him."

"Well its all fine then. Just be careful ok. You were lucky this two witches were already aware of where I am, others could not be."

"Of course Mam, I'm sorry for what happened anyway."

Lilith nodded at her and went back to her desk. "Then again....I am glad that of all witches you could have found, it was Luz. That girl has not a single mean bone on her body. She is probably the nicest witch around, right alongside her mother."

"Luz mentioned.....your sister is her mentor."

Lilith sighted. "Yes that is true. Though I knew her mother, Camila, in Hexide, I met Luz properly during her class with Edalyn. That's the name of my younger sister."

Lilith had met Luz when she still worked for the Emperor's Coven. She had gone to try to bring Eda to the Emperor (at the time, still foolishly believing that he would help her with her course) when she first saw Luz. Lilith had to call off the attack, as she not only did not want a child, but she knew who she belonged to.

She had later gone to Camila to ask what the hell she was thinking allowing her daughter to be with a wanted witch. Camila had gotten mad at her, telling her that Eda has been there since Luz’s birth, and took an active role in her life after Manny died. The meeting did not end well, and Lilith left soon after that. She has not spoken to Camila ever since actually. She probably hates her for what she did to her best friend.

Ever since Lilith was always careful not to go against Eda if Luz was around.

Their meetings have been brith. Usually when she and Eda called for a truce or after she left the coven, and she knew that girl is extremely nice. Amity should be fine...

Luz had asked Amity to meet her at Monday morning at the place they met.

“Oh you are here, good !” Luz said. “Come on, I’ll take you to Hexide.”

Luz grabbed Amity’s hand and took her to the town.

Amity quickly placed the hood of her hoodie on her head, covering her round ears.

“Welcome to Bonesburgh !” Luz said as they entered the town.

Amity looked around. It looked like....one of the towns from Azura.

“It’s just like Azura...” Amity whispered.

Luz gasped. “Hold on a second ! You said Azura ! As in Azura of the book series ?”

“Yeah...wait a second. You have Azura here !”

“Girl. I am the BIGGEST fan of Azura. I’ve read all the books, seen all the movies.”

“Me too ! Well....I’ve read the books, I haven’t watched the movies yet.” Her mother had not allowed her too. “My mother...didn’t like me watching those kind of movies.”

“Oh girl. That can stay like that. As soon as I can, I’ll invite you to my house and we can watch all the movies.”

“You want....me at your home.”

“Yeah ! I’ve always wanted to hang out with an Azura fan ! Hunter and Skara have watched them with me, but they aren’t fans.”

“And your family won’t be mad that....a human goes there ?”

“Nah. My mom and sister are the most accepting people that you’ll meet. Trust me. I have a feeling you and I are gonna be great friends Amity !”

Amity was unused to this...feeling. To having this kind of friendship. After all this years of being forced to hang out with Boscha and her gang...it felt strange to have someone as a true friend...but it also felt nice.

“Me too Luz...me too...”

Amity and Luz finally reached Hexide. From the outside it looked like a normal school. But from the inside...Amity can only imagine.

At the back of the school, they saw Hunter. This time, he was joined by a a black girl with grey hair and grey eyes. The sleeves and leggings of her uniform were red, which based on what she has learned, means she’s in the Bard Track.

The girl was the first to notice her.

“No way, is that her, is that actually her !”

“Yep. Skara, I present you Amity Blight ! A human !”

Skara yelped in excitement and ran towards Amity, shaking her hand rapidly.

“Oh it’s so good to finally meet a human ! I’m Skara Willburgh by the way !”

“Nice to...meet you Skara !” Amity said, her hand still being shaken.

“Say, do you mind if I ask you so many questions. Like, what’s a rubix cube ? Is it true there are giraffes at the human realm ? Are paper clips food ?”

“Wow, Hold in there cowboy.” Luz laughed. Calming Skara down. “We are here to help Hunter out remember. After he aces this test, I’m sure Amity will answer your questions. Right Amity ?”

Amity looked at her and chuckled. “Yeah sure. I can answer some questions.”

Skara made an exited noice at that.

“Hey, can we get back to the part where I pass this test !” Hunter yelled.

“Oh yes yes. Ok Amity. Here is the plan. See this container. It’s full of something called abomination goo. It’s what abomination witches use to make their abomination. What we need you to do, is get inside, get yourself covered in abomination goo, and act as Hunter’s abomination, so that he can pass the test.”

“And how does an abomination act ?”

“They are just mindless creatures that obey their masters.” Skara said. “Just act like...how do you humans call it...ah a zombie ! Just make noises like ACH or gah, and do anything that Hunter tells you.”

“It won’t be anything complicated. If I tell you to stand up, just do that. It will be simple actions.”

“And how long will this take.” She asked, not exactly looking forward to this taking long.

“Not long. The exam should take around five minutes. After that Skara and I will create a distraction so that we can get you out.”

“What...kind of distraction ?”

“Trust me. You don’t want to know.” Hunter deadpanned. “I have a feeling I know and I wish I Don’t.”

“I definitely know and I’m happy to do so.” Skara said, fist bumping Luz.

“This is gonna get messy, right ?” Amity asked Hunter.

“I still think the only reasons this two don’t get in trouble is that they are prodigies in their tracks.”

"Come on Hunter, you know you love us.."

"Yeah, you know you do !"

"I hate you both sometimes..."

"Uck, this thing is already all sticky on me !"

"Just stay quiet, and wait. It will all be over soon." Hunter grumbled.

Just then, Professor Hemocolule came inside the room.

"Ah Mr. Deamonne, you have actually brought something for me today." The man grumbled. "About dam time. I have to say that for the son of one of the best abomination students in all Hexide, who became coven head to be like this.....its disappointing."

Luz and Skara growled from Hunter's side.

"Ah. Ms. Noceda and Ms. Wilburgh. Here to support your friend. Of course. Maybe you could teach this boy how to actually be good at their track. Now then Mr. Deamonne, show me your abomination."

Hunter sighed and closed his eye.

"Abomination, rise !"

With that, Amity rose from the container. Acting like she had been told to.

"Oh my, it actually got out."

Hunter kept dictating commands to his "abomination" while Luz and Skara kept watch.

After some other commands, Hunter finally signaled Amity to get back inside.

"Hm. I have to say, I am impressed Mr. Deamonne. It was not perfect but....it is progress. Progress enough for you to get a B." Himmoncolus said. "Now that's over, lets..."

SMASH !

Suddenly, the whole school shook.

"What in the world was that ?" Skara asked.

"I don't know, but that was not part of the plan !" Luz whispered.

"HELP, THE GRYFYNS HAVE ESCAPED THEIR CAGE." A student yelled.

"Just our luck. The beast keeping Professor took the older students to a field trip." Skara face palmed.

Luz looked around. In this chaos, they would probably be ordered to evacuate. If they took the container it would be suspicious. Amity would be found, and Lilith could be found as well.

Hunter looked at how the students were handling the beasts.

"No no no, they are doing it wrong !" Hunter yelled. "That's not gonna call them. Fire will make them more aggressive."

He turned to Luz. "Get Amity away from here. I can handle this." With that, Hunter rushed off towards the griffins.

"I'll keep an eye on them. Now go !" Skara mumbled.

Luz nodded, and quickly grabbed the container.

"Amity, can you hear me !"

"Luz, what is going on out there !"

"Pure chaos ! Which is normal here. Listen, our plan to get you out kinda...well we are just gonna have to improvise."

"I don't understand, why can't I just..."

"If you go out, you run the risk of Bria or someone like her seeing you. You could be banned from Hexide, and never become a witch ! And that is something friends don't allow it to happen."

"Friends..."

Luz reached her locker, and quickly opened it.

Inside was a bird house, and in it was...

"HOOOTY !" Hooty yelled. "IS IT TIME, IS IT TIME TO PLAY ?"

"Sorry Hooty. Play time is canceled. But hey, I will play with you in recompense."

"Oh....dissapointed."

"Listen. I need a favor. Can you keep my friend here hidden. We are taking her to Black Claw."

"Ohhhh NEW FRIENDS, HOOTY LOVES NEW FRIENDS, SPECIALLY IF HOOTY CAN OWL PELT THEM !"

Luz opened the container were Amity was.

"Hey what's..."

"No time, just know....I'm sorry."

With that, Hooty came inside the container and swallowed Amity.

Black Claw was relaxing at the son, when he noticed someone rushing towards him.

"Isn't it Ms. Noceda. How nice to see you."

"Hey...Black Claw...." Luz said between gasps.

"Is Eda with you. I don't think Lilith will take well..."

"No..Eda is busy, but.."

Hooty then came out of bird house. "HEY BROTHER !"

"Oh, well this is a pleasant suprise. Hello Hootsifer."

"OH I HAVE NOT SPOKEN TO YOU IN SO LONG, I HAVE LOT TOO..."

"Hooty, focus ! Spit Amity out !"

"Wait did you just say Ami..."

"OK !" Hooty said, owl petting Amity.

"Eugh....what...what happened."

"Hmm. It seems my dear, you have been swallowed by my older brother. A interesting story I take it."

"Wait...this owl thingy...is your older brother ?"

"YEP, WE ARE TWINS ! THOUGH I AM WAY MORE HANDSOME...HOOT HOOT !"

The next day Amity finally felt she was clean enough after her....adventure with Hooty.

"I still can't believe you snuck into Hexide " Lilith said. "That is the opposite of not calling for attention."

"Give her a break Lilith." Black Claw said. "She just wanted to help her friends out. How many times did you do that back in the day ?"

"Don't remind me."

"Besides, I got the chance to talk to my brother. So I thank her for that."

Just then, Luz, Hunter, and Skara came from the forest.

"Oh hey guys." Amity greeted them.

"Hey Amity !" Luz greeted. "Oh and hey Lilith."

"Hello Luz...hm. You have grown since I last saw you."

Then she noticed something. Hunter's uniform...the sleeves and leggings were no longer pink. but orange ! "You...changed tracks ?"

"Yeah. I'm now at Beast Keeping."

"But I thought you passed the test !"

"He did. But then Principal Bump saw Hunter handle those griffins. He noticed his natural talent, and offered to change him to the beast keeping track." Skara explained proudly.

"And your father...did he take it well ?"

"Yeah....he did. He took it very well." Hunter answered. "He said that he already saw it coming and that.....that no matter what track I chose, I'm still his son, and that he will always support me."

Hearing that, made Amity look down.

How much would she gibe to get a parent like that......

Luz aparantly noticed that Amity was down and spoke.

"Hey, don't think I forgot my end of the deal. Here." Luz handled her a notebook. "It contains all the information Eda and I got from glyphs. It won't be much. But it will help."

"Thank you Luz...truly."

"And don't forget, you still need to come over so we can watch Azura together ! As fellow fans."

"Yeah, so she can finally stop bothering us with all of that." Hunter chuckles.

"I am not a bother. I just need to speak of very important things." Luz said offended.

"Not one of your shipping talks again." Hunter groaned.

Amity could not help but let out a chuckle. "Is it always like this with you ?"

"Hah, this is not even a bit of the hijinks we get into. But. that's what you get when you join the mad house." Skara said. "Welcome to our friend group Amity...it is a wild ride."

"A wild but fun ride !" Luz added. "And now that we have a new member, its gonna be even more fun !"

Amity thought about what they said.

Friends...

She had friends now. Not friends like Boscha that were chosen by her mother, and would force her to do things that she did not want to. But...actual true friends.

it felt...very nice.

"I am looking forward to what you have in store then."
