It had been hours since the sunset. It’s orange, pink, and purple sky turning into a royal blue as the moon and sun switched places in the sky. The moonlight dawning upon a bedroom within Megapolis.
“ C’mon Red, I want to sleep…~ “ Mei whined as she sat up in bed. “ I hate going to sleep without you. “ She frowned. Red Son didn’t really need sleep, so whenever he’d stay over he’d be up while Mei was fast asleep. It saddened her. “ You never sleep at nights so I always go to bed alone. “ She pouted, pursing her lips.
“ That means you wouldn’t mind going to bed alone again. “ Red Son smirked, slightly tilting his head to the side as he continued tinkering. Mei had set up a desk in her room for him, and he’s been obsessed with it ever since she showed him it. “ Besides, it would be a waste to not use this lovely desk. “ The smug look on his face growing bigger.
“ Well, yeah but…- “ Mei couldn’t think of any come back. “ I should just go ahead and remove the desk. “ She grumbled, knowing Red Son could hear her as his ear twitched in response.
Mei fell back in the bed with a yawn “ Could you at least lay down with me? “ She quietly asked, a tad bit embarrassed as she shuffled under the covers.
Red Son didn’t respond for a bit, flustered by the request. “ You want me to what now? “ He swivelled his chair towards the bed, eyeing the girl under the covers.
“ Nothing, forget about it. “ Mei quickly replied. She didn’t expect him to hear her, let alone consider the request. She shuffled again under the covers, now facing the door instead of the desk.
Red Son let out a soft chuckle, standing from the chair and sitting on the bed. Feeling the sudden dip of the bed Mei turned to the source. Her eyes lighting up as she saw Red Son. She let out a small squeal as she sat up.
“ You’re actually gonna do it? “ She smiled, trying to contain her happiness. She wasn’t very good at it though as her rocking gave her away.
Red Son grumbled in response. “ Maybe. “ He muttered, too embarrassed to say yes. He slid off his slippers and pushed himself fully onto the bed, facing Mei. “ You happy now? “ He scoffed. He tried to seem unhappy but the reddening of his cheeks gave him away.
Mei’s smile grew wider as she pulled Red Son into her arms. “ You’re the best Red Boy. “ She praised as she cupped his face and began planted kisses along his face.
Red Son cheeks grew redder at the action, sparks coming from his hair.
“ I love when you get all soft like this. “ She giggled, planting one last peck on his lips before pulling away, her hands and lips leaving.
Red Son pouted a bit at the loss of contact, but he wouldn’t be caught dead asking for it back. “ Here you are will all this energy, and here I thought you were tired. “ He smirked. “ Should I just go back to my desk then? “
Mei began to shake her head. “
No no, you are going to bed with me. “ She quickly replied, pushing Red Son so his back falls onto the bed.
Red Son’s hair sparked. “ What was that for dragon girl! “ He glared at her, taken aback by the sudden action.
“ Oh, nothing. “ She giggled, before falling back and resting right next to Red Son. “ I just wanted to get you to lay down. “ She gave Red Son a cheeky grin.
“ Well, you could’ve just asked me! ” He grumbled, slightly turning his body away from Mei faking his anger. Truthfully he could never be mad at her, but what’s the fun in that? He smiled to himself.
“ Awe c’mon… don’t be like that Sparky..~ “ Mei frowned, pulling off Red Son’s hair tie.
“ Sparky? “ Red Som repeated. “ Where’d you get sparky from? “ He titled his head back a bit to see Mei. She wasn’t one to use nicknames, so he was taken aback by the sudden usage of one.
Mei giggled, putting the hair tie around her wrist. “ Well, when ever you get flustered little sparks come from your hair! “ She began combing her fingers through his hair. “ It’s really cute when it happens too! “ She gushed, a soft smile forming on her face.
Sparks flew from his hair once again. “ I didn’t think you would notice… “ He mumbled just above a whisper. He always tried his bed to hide his sparks but they always slip around Mei.
Mei smiled at the sparks. “ Of course I’d notice silly! “ Mei began to fluff his hair. “ How could I ever take my eyes off of you? “ Her smile grew bigger as Red Son grew redder.
Red Son lowered his head, unsure how to respond as he felt his face heating up.
Mei began to comb her fingers through Red Son’s hair again. “ Your hair is really soft, you know that? “ She titled her head a bit when she finished her sentence.
Red Son responded with a soft ‘ mhm ‘ his body visibly relaxing as Mei continued to play with his hair.
Mei softly smiled. “ You getting sleepy? “ Her fingers began running through his hair slower, as she felt sleepy as well.
Red Son softly nodded his head, lacking the energy to respond as his eyelids became heavy.
“ Me too… “ She responded with a soft yawn. Her combing becoming slower than before, almost a complete stop until she heard soft breathing from Red Son. “ Are you sleeping Sparky? “ She removed her fingers from his hair, awaiting a response.
“ … “
He was asleep.
Mei giggled to herself, snuggling close to Red Son and closing her eyes. “ Goodnight Sparky… “ Mei took one last breath before letting sleep take her.
