Work Text:
“Guys! Turn off the TV and go to bed!” Heatwave yelled as he cracked his knuckles after finishing his training.
“Aww!” Blades whined, “But the good part’s just about to happen!”
“Blades, if I may,” Chase interrupted, “If we stay up any longer, we may have trouble sleeping in the near future, so I recommend that we all turn in for the night.”
I just rolled my eyes and focused my attention back onto the painting in front of me. They always fight when it was time for bed. Blades always watches horror movies when it was nighttime, and always gets nightmares afterwards. I dipped my brush into the water, then into the blue. Carefully, I dragged the brush across the pond painted on my canvas.
“Done!” I announced, catching the attention of the three bots behind me.
Heatwave hummed, “A forest. Nicely done, Boulder. Why don’t we frame that after it dries?”
“Why not?” I yawned, grabbing the remote and turning off the TV, “Blurr, Salvage, and Quickshadow are all coming to the island tomorrow. How ‘bout we get some shut-eye?”
“Fine.” Blades complied, getting up from the couch and stretching. I gathered my paints and brushes and put them neatly on the dark gray shelf next to me. As I finished up putting away my supplies, I could hear distant voices coming from behind me.
“Blades, I thought I turned off the TV. Why’d you turn it back on?” I asked, looking behind me.
“I didn’t!” Blades said quickly, “See!”
He pointed to the TV, which was off. I was confused because I could still hear the voices. I quietly motioned everyone to follow me as I crept into the hallway that led to our rooms. I stopped at Chase’s and put my ear through the door. Nothing.
I opened the door and peeked inside. Everything was where it was before. His berth, made from fake wood at the right side in the middle, with white sheets, two blue pillows, and a blue blanket neatly tucked in. His black nightstand, with a lamp and a few books neatly stacked on top. His bookshelf was also the same, all books were organized alphabetically. His dark blue closet across from his bed, his blue rug in front of his bed, even the book on his bed. Everything was where it was in the morning.
“Are you alright, Boulder? Why are you looking in my room?” Chase asked, crossing his arms.
“I heard something. Voices, and I can still hear it.” I whispered, closing Chase’s door and walking over to Blades’s.
Everything was where it was in the morning as well. Blades’s room was a lot like Chase’s, except inside of a bookshelf there was a shelf filled with action figures and comics, as well as DVD movies and video games. His room was orange and much more messy, too. I scanned the room, nothing.
I moved on to Heatwave’s room, which is also similar to Chase’s and Blades’s. Except, everything was red. Instead of a shelf, there was a wooden pillar that he used to spar, and a small drawer that had all kinds of weapons. There wasn’t anything here, though, just like how there wasn’t anything in Chase’s room and Blades’s room, and the voices are gone now, strange….
“Boulder?”
I sighed, shaking my head, “Sorry for worrying you guys, those voices are gone, it was probably my imagination.”
“Are you sure?” Blades asked, putting a hand on Boulder's shoulder.
“I’m fine.” I reassured, “I’m probably just tired, I’m gonna turn in.”
“Okay. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight, Blades.” I walked over to my room and opened the door, which was very similar to Henry’s except with no weapons and instead painting supplies. I turned around briefly to close the door, but when
I turned around, I froze.
Just a few feet before my, stood a ghostly figure, and in front of the figure was a ghostly TV. The ghost looked at me, and I saw nothing in his eyes. They were just black.
The ghost smirked, “Hello Boulder.”
