Chapter Text
"Oh shoot!" Seungmin looked around his table as he noticed something missing. Felix noticed it too. It wasn't the first time this week that he had forgotten his cardigan at Han Jisung's dorm.
No, he needed to specify. Jisung's and Lee Minho's shared dorm. The Australian man knew that it was intended. Him forgetting his cardigan everytime he visited Jisung, just to see Lee Minho get back from basketball practice at exactly 5pm every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. It at least helped Felix keep up with the weekdays. He sometimes struggled with memorising what day it was when he had his head buried in books during exam season.
And it didn't come to a surprise when Seungmin looked at him with apologetic eyes. "Sorry, Lix. I need to get my-" "Cardigan." Felix made a hand gesture to shoo him away already, "I know, I know."
He shot a last smile at him before his bestest and only friend packed his stuff to run over to the other side of the campus. He wondered if Seungmin was ever planning on approaching Minho. It wasn't like they ever shared a real conversation - at least not to Felix's knowledge and he wasn't sure if his friend would go into the specifics if it did happen - but Seungmin stood a chance. At least in his eyes. Seungmin was a catch. The only one in this whole world that he would ever trust.
At least after what happened with -
Before Felix could finish his trail of thoughts, his hands flew up to his own face and he not-so-gently massaged it while letting out a deep sigh.
Studying.
He needed to focus on studying. He wanted to get back to his book but then realized Seungmin had probably taken it with him in a hurry.
"Is he fucking serious?" His hands went up to his hair as he pulled it back. Then he looked at his phone. 4:45pm.
Enough time to get to the library but he just couldn't be bothered. He would have rather studied at his own dorm. Because going out there meant having to face people and being someone he didn't like to be.
Felix hated who he had become. If Felix from now had met Felix from five years ago, they both would have avoided each other like oil and water. Not the best comparison, he noticed. Yet, his brain was mush and he couldn't think straight. So that's when he got up, stretching a little. Usually he would put makeup on but today he didn't feel like looking in the mirror. Looking at how tired he had become over the years.
So with one last sigh, he grabbed his bag, put his stuff in it, pulled his hoodie up and hid his mouth behind a mask before he stepped out of his and Seungmin's dorm.
Sem break was right around the corner. He couldn't wait to get back with his family. Studying in Seoul had been his dream but being with his family in Tongyeon was even better. He didn't miss Australia one bit. He would rather forget everything that happened there. His family of course didn't know. He also didn't change when they were around, that's why he needed to avoid them coming to visit him in Seoul by visiting them as much as he could.
Once he stepped foot in Tongyeon, he was Lee Felix again. Yongbokie even. God, how he hated and loved being called Yongbokie. At the thought of Olivia teasing him he almost rolled his eyes. But behind his black medical mask you could have seen the hint of a smile.
Oh, how he had missed Tongyeon. Especially enjoying the view and the Skyline Luge. Yes, it had been there for Gokart purposes but hanging nearby with friends was fun. He remembered the first time they had moved there. Exactly five years ago.
He was so lost in his thoughts, he hadn't noticed that he almost passed the library. Thanks to muscle memory, he went into the building. Unfortunately, Seungmin wasn't with him this time. The big halls of the library were scary but Felix was an actor. He played it cool, the steps getting easier the more he walked. If he could, he would just sprint inside, however that wasn't who he was. People giving him looks, wondering why the random guy was glaring daggers at everyone and yet nothing. The university wasn't small, it was very big actually, unlike school so people wouldn't remember him. Especially people who weren't from his department. After all, chemical engineering hadn't been quite the popular major anyway.
But it was easier. Making people avoid you. That way you couldn't get close to anyone. You wouldn't lose anyone. Not like how he had lost his best friend, his soulmate.
Before he could waste another thought on his past, he cursed at himself for not going to the library more often. Or at least picking his own books up instead of making Seungmin do it because he had no clue how to navigate between the different shelves. As he was biting his lower lip, he noticed how standing around in a room, clueless, wouldn't help keeping people away at all. People in Seoul apparently loved feeling helpful. Without even having to look at him, Felix noticed someone staring.
Han Jisung to be exact. Weird, how did Seungmin manage to get into their dorm then? Did he not know he was here?
Oh.
He definitely didn't. Which meant he was standing outside their door, knocking until Minho showed up and had to let him in. Smooth, Kim Seungmin. Very smooth.
Felix made a mental note to ask about it later. Before Jisung could get up from his seat, the Aussie went straight to a shelf, not caring if it was the right one. To his luck, he seemed to be at the right row because some books were familiar to him. Yet, when he grabbed one of the books, another hand laid on his. Before he could snap at the person, he turned around, noticing he had to look up a bit.
His breath hitched when their eyes met.
He was fucking -
"Beautiful."
