Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

It was a beautiful Monday morning, and Destiny quickly rolled out of bed and threw on her clothes. As she did, her enhanced hearing caught the sound of a car pulling out of the driveway.
"Haha, Mom isn't ditching me..right...?" Destiny nervously chuckled, peeking out her bedroom door to find herself home alone.
"Mama...!" Destiny called out, looking around.
She heard a chuckle from downstairs and looked to see her older sister, Bea, with a smug grin on her face.
"Oop! Ha, it looks like ya got left, twerp. You better move fast because your only chance of getting a ride is either me or the bus, and I'm leaving at five. I'm stopping at Starbucks for breakfast, so if you want any, you better have money," she said simply. "Oh, and here is your uniform; just wear it on your wrist," she says, tossing it up to her.
"A bracelet is the uniform...?" Destiny questioned.
"It's the age of high-tech twerp; don't think too hard about it. You only have four minutes now," Bea said before finally walking out the door.
Lucius, Bea's boyfriend, held the door open and smiled his usual bright, welcoming smile. "Hi, Des! Don't worry girlie, I got ya; anything you want is on me!" He winked.
Destiny nodded and internally sighed in relief before rushing back into her room to get dressed. During the car ride to school, Bea harped over how Destiny should act.
Bea gave her a blank stare. "I'm going to give you some advice for school because you're already prone to acting like a fool. Number one, pick your fights wisely and never do shit on school grounds." Bea said sternly.
"Just ask Lucius; that's why this boy had to bounce from so many schools; this boy can't stop fighting," Bea snarked.
"Hey now, Ah still won them fights, tho nobody can stop me while I’m armed and dangerous.~" Lucius smirked, flexing his muscles.
Bea blushed a little, rolling her eyes. "Keep your hands on the wheel, Vreedle. Anyway, don't let the snobby vermin at this school make you feel like shit. Keep your head high, you're my sister, and you belong there," her sister said as they pulled in past the golden gates of the school.
Destiny would occasionally glance from the side of her peripheral vision to see the school grounds. As they drove in they would see a long memorial being prepared for the students that were lost. Flowers were being planted around all the statues of the students in the attack months ago. At the entrance of the school.

As Destiny got out of the car she looked around in awe everywhere she looked she would see familiar faces she grew up watching in tv. "Oh my gosh that's she hulk….she's prettier in person….I wish I brought something for her to sign…."
"That would be weird Des don't be weird…" Bea warns
"Bea…. There are A-list heroes here…what if I'm not ready…..like I think I saw the Scarlet Witche's son I know he must be classically trained! What if I-I do that thing and people think I'm a monster..!?"
"Calm down everyone here is a normal human being here. There is nothing to worry about Des." Bea explained
Destiny looked around. "Actually I spotted a few aliens, a girl that looked like an ice fairy, and a pig girl so…you're wrong Bea."
Bea smirked "we'll have nothing to worry about, all freaks of nature and so are you twerp." Bea says, nudging her sister towards a table.
At the welcome committee table with a couple of students greeting the new faces; one of them was smiling as if she were crowned 'Miss Universe'. "Welcome to Phoenix Academy; I'm sure you’ll be a wonderful hero," she said delightfully, shaking their hands, and making her sleek ebony hair bounce.
Destiny smiled as she walked towards the committee table to get her schedule. "Hi! I'm Destiny; what's your name?" She asked, looking up at the girl in front of her. The girl operating it looked at her with a disposition as cold as ice, her dark violet stare piercing into her. Clearing her throat, Destiny spoke again. "I-I would like my class schedule for this semester…I'm a new student." The girl would simply slide the paper over and turn away from her; as she did, Destiny would take it and quickly walk away, letting the next student go, and like a switch, the girl went back to her delightful mood.
"Well, that was weird…" Destiny muttered as she tried to brush off the feeling of not being welcome at her new school.as she walked to the warp pad entrance of the school.
She and a few of her fellow students would step onto the glowing podium. Destiny waited and would look around to see what was supposed to happen. "Bea, am I doing this right?!"-
Before she could react, Destiny's body would be sent through the portal. Surrounded by light, she was gently held up into the air, spinning gracefully around in silhouette form. Strips of ribbon begin to wrap around her body, forming her school uniform, measured to her size. As the portal opens on the other end, Destiny loses her footing and falls smack dab on the cold tile floor in front of the other students. She looked up from her fall to see the other students looking at her, some snickering while others straight up laughing at her.
"How did the floor taste? Hehe word of advice loser look before you leap." The pig girl she saw before her teased.
She quickly got up, dusting herself off before she briskly left, feeling rather embarrassed. As she did so. As she walked around the halls Destiny would take in the sights. Out a window she could see out to the vastness of space. And take witness to planet earth down below.
Later on, Destiny was opening her locker when she discovered a rather chintzy-looking gift bag. Taking it out, she looked inside it to see some body-cream, shampoo, conditioner, and a red velvet cupcake. She noticed a note attached to it saying, "Well, here you go. Signed Wanda Zatara."
"OMG, thank you, Wanda!" A voice exclaimed Destiny turned to see Makayla receiving a more luxurious gift basket containing body wash, body lotion, assorted flavored tea cookies, and a school teddy bear. "Think of it as a welcome with open arms," Wanda said.
Destiny looked down at her bag with a dejected look before she noticed a large, towering, lumbering figure walk past her. She beamed, recognizing the boy immediately. She would briskly walk up to him and tug on his arm.
"Da-fuq….!? Hmm, huh?" The larger boy would stop to look down at the girl.
"Manny, it's me, Destiny!"
Manolo would squat down to her level to get a better look. "Damn….it really is you shorty. What are you doing here?"
"Long story one rather not have to tell…”

“Fine by me you lost?”

Destiny nodded " Yeah, I know, hey can you show me to my class?" Destiny asked, holding up her schedule.

Manolo before taking the paper and glancing over it."Oh wow, we got the same classes,"

Later during their first period, Destiny would look around in awe as the high school classroom looked big enough to be a college-level one. While distracted she would find herself walking to a large hulking figure. She heard a warm chuckle and gasped as she gazed upward to see the former avenger. "Oh my gosh…you're my favorite avenger…"

Jennifer chuckled, helping the small girl up, lifting her up with just two fingers. "Wow, then I'm pretty honored, kid. I hope you do well in my class. You are Bea's little sister right?" she asked.

Destiny nodded. "Yeah, this is my first day too.”

Jennifer nodded. "Great, I'll get you caught up with everything you missed with these notes, it gives a good summary of past units with some highlighted vocabulary sprinkled in."
"Thank you, Ms. Walters!" Destiny beamed, sitting beside Manolo. As Ms. Walter was teaching the lesson plan, Destiny was writing down notes when she felt something hit the back of her head. She notices that it is a neatly folded piece of paper and secretly opens it, revealing a cute little note.
"Hey Des, welcome to the school : 3–Dorian"
She looks to see that Dorian gave her a quick wave and a smile. As the class went on, she felt as though a small weight had been lifted off her shoulders, and she felt hope that things could finally be looking up for her. Her pink orbs beamed with joy and optimism.
She smiles a bit before another note lands on her desk, and thinking it was Dorian, she opens it. Her eyes shine brightly as she carefully opens them, only for them to lose their shine and fade into sadness.

A heavyweight would drop into the pit of Destiny's stomach. Her hands trembled as she crumpled the piece of paper.

As she did she could hear the cheeky giggles of the three behind her. The sickeningly wicked giggles belonged to Wanda and her friends.
"Hehe look at her I think she's gonna cry! What a big baby." One of them giggles
"Oh my god Priss your so mean….I love it." A guy snorts

Destiny groans, laying her head on her desk. She could feel an otherworldly presence looming over her like a weighted blanket
"Why are you sulking!? Destroy your enemies child! That girl is challenging you! " a familiar voice shouted in her head.
Destiny gritted her teeth
"Please just shut up you old dinosaur. I do not have the time to deal with you and I lack the emotional energy to deal with your crazy ass. Also, I'm not going to snap at her; she's not worth it…."
"Where is your rage?! Where is your vengeance?!"
Destiny growls under her breath, ignoring Aku's voice as she tries to take her notes.
She pushes him deep down into the abyss of her mind. The bell rings as the students are let out into the hall. The pep in her step was replaced with a slow march to her next class. She felt a tap on her shoulder as she turned to see Dorian and Manolo next to her.
"Hey Destiny, did ya see my note?" Dorian asks
"Yeah…" she said, her tone laced with tiredness.
"You all right?"
"Yeah totally." she lied, not wanting to complain.
Manolo looks at her before giving her a pat on the back. "Look on the bright side; the next class might be fun." He said, "You might get to use some nunchucks."
Dorian’s eyes lit up, floating a bit. "Yeah, and you can be like hiyah kiyah woopah!" He did some karate chops and kicks in the air. Manny chuckles as he reels Dorian in.
"Chill dude." Manny teased Dorian, rustling his hair.

As the two boys were joking, a crack of a smile appeared on Destiny’s face. She snorts, covering her face, a soft giggle escaping her lips.
The students would gather in a large, padded room. The walls would be adorned with weapons of many kinds. New and from worlds of old, some looked like they came from places never seen before.

Destiny looked around in awe. This class was not what Destiny thought it would be. The walls were teaming with bright colorful designs of stars and glimmering lights.

A large figure with luminous long locs of colorful hair approached the children. Her booming voice commanded the attention of all of the students.

"Hello, kiddies, I'm your teacher Bismuth! I'm here to help you guys learn how to safely use weapons in battle."

She beams, holding up a polearm. Bismuth would flip it up into the air before catching it and slashing a dummy’s torso in half. The students were in awe as they clapped.

Manny's eyes widened, "where did you get that?"

The blade gleaned from the light, “Oh this? Made it myself with my own two hands.” She said pridefully. Placing it back she picks up another weapon, a massive war hammer slinging it over her shoulder.

“Some of you might fight better with a weapon, some are more hand-to-hand combat oriented but one thing's for certain…”

Suddenly a projectile flies towards Bismuth and as she dodges she swings the hammer at the object and it breaks on impact.

“You choose the weapon, the weapon doesn’t choose you.”

“Now then spar with each other and get a feel of the weapons.” bismuth said.
The students were in awe as they went to the weapon wall, grabbing whatever works with them. Monolo looks at Destiny, “Guess we’re partnering up then?”

She shrugs, “I don’t mind, it might be fun.”

As the two went to one of the mats, Manolo looked at the weapon wall, from axes to maces to swords they were many things to choose from. He noticed a pair of metallic clawed gloves hanging about, and grabbing them he put them on. They fit snuggly upon his hands as he looked at Destiny who was waiting for him.
"Heh, nice gloves," she complimented.
"Thanks, but these are actually called gauntlets," he said in a matter-of-fact tone, humming as turns to her. "Have you chosen a weapon yet?" he asked.
Destiny smiled, manifesting a wall of military weapons behind her. Stunned, Manny looked back down at her. "You ain't gonna use all those on me, ...right?" he asked, taking a nervous gulp.
Destiny scoffed. "Of course not, that would be overkill! But it's still gonna be fun watching you run." She winked while reloading a weapon as she walked towards the fighting mat. "I use my magic to manifest weapons that channel my spells. Some girlies use staff or wands. I found it more efficient to use a gun! It shoots the spells out faster, plus I like the look on people's faces when they see it. It's much more terrifying than a glowy stick, don't you think?"
Manny smirked, walking towards her. "You could say that, don't think you can scare me that easily, though," he said as he looked for an opening to attack.
"If you're not scared, then come at me already!" She playfully exclaimed, "If you don't, I'll have to blast you in the face and make you fight me."
"This looks too easy," Manolo thought as he made himself bigger. Rushing towards her, he raised his fist for a jab. His hand seemed to move like it was in molasses as Destiny moved to the side.
"Oh boy, better make every second count," she thought to herself as she let herself fall into an opening portal, the inky darkness consuming her.
As the portal closed, Manolo heard something opening from behind him and from the corner of his eye, he could see an object being pointed at him. "Hehe, too slow, kitty!" She giggled.
He whipped around, crossing his hands to block the attack, only for it to explode in a cloud of thick black smoke in his face. Waving away the smoke, the gauntlet's claws lengthened and began to glow. He charged toward Destiny, who jumped away from the slashes. She shot multiple magical flash bullets, making the room explode with color while Manny covered his eye from the attack while quickly making a shield using one of the gauntlets, blocking the spell bullets.

As this happened Destiny opened another portal. "Okay, I need to take him by surprise and get him down then this fight can end quickly…that's easier said than done," She gulped nervously as she attempted to quickly charge in for another assault. Through the smog Manny heard her footsteps and heavy breathing
"Heh, amateur hour, she's making this easy." He chuckled as he used his lightning-fast reflexes to grab the smaller girl by her face and slam her body into the mat.

The world slowed down as Destiny's body hit the mat. "I guess this is how I die, my head crushed by a dude built like a mountain," she thought. Another voice would tsk in disappointment and Destiny groaned knowing it was Akus. "Child you are aware I blessed you with godlike abilities correct?"
"Oh yeah….This isn't even going to hurt…Well not that much."

Other on-lookers winced in pain at the sight of the mere sound of the body hitting the mat with such force that could not be anything but agonizing. Manny straightened up, letting go of her. “You give up?” He received a hard kick to the stomach as a response, knocking him back and into the wall, leaving a hefty Manolo-sized dent in it.

The students cheered and clapped for Destiny, she got up and cracked her neck. "It takes more than that to knock me down kitty," she taunts, her eyes darkening.

"Hehe, Yes, destroy this boy, show your lessers your power!" Aku cackled.
"Shut up, let me have fun!"

Destiny lunges towards Manny, cracking him in the jaw with a few punches. Manolo came back at Destiny blow for blow, returning a few licks. He went in for another jab to Destiny's face but the girl dodged it, throwing Manny on to the mat behind her.

"Ha too slow….again," Destiny huffed from exhaustion. She looked back to see if her friend was okay but before she could react the gauntlet's claw met with her face and she immediately went down her, head hitting the floor and knocking her out.

Manolo could smell the coppery scent of blood as he saw the repercussions of the attack he did. Destiny’s face was bleeding. His eyes widened as he stepped back, a dark memory resurfaces as he sees the body of a banker laying on the ground clutching their face. The sound of panic and fearful scream ringing in his ears as Mammoth barked orders at him to get the money from the safe. His mind fades from reality as he panics unaware of the small crowd forming around him.

Bismuth breaks up the crowd, checking on Destiny and patching her up. All of the students started to spread out, all except Manolo who was frozen with fear. “Manolo…Manolo!” Bismuth called out, “It’s okay, just take a break I’ll bring destiny to the med-bay.”
“Y-Yes ma’am.”

After weapon class ended the students poured out into the hall, Manolo was replaying the scene in his head. Destiny and Dorian, seeing this, approach their classmate.
“Hey, manny…that was a pretty good sparring we had.” She chuckled playful as she held an ice pack to her face. “Had to admit, You got me real good.”

He flinched, not wanting to see the damage he did to her.

“Come on big guy, we’re still your friends,” Dorian said.

Destiny smiles sadly as she gently takes one of his hands, they were larger compared to hers. “Hey kitty, look at me it's okay, And besides this wasn’t my first time getting cut in the face,” she said half joking.

Manny's face perked up his amber orbs, lighting up a little. "For real you ain't mad?"
Destiny scoffed "Psh!, of course not! Besides, I definitely got more hits than you.”

Tears start to leak from his eyes as he wipes them with his sleeve, Dorian hugs him as tightly as his little body can. “Yeah you got me there.”
She joins in the hug before giving Manny a pat on the back. Suddenly a couple of students approached her.

“You Destiny?” one of them asks
She nods confused.

“I have to say your strategy was interesting, especially your use of portals.”

“Oh uh thanks, I guess.” She said, rubbing the back of her neck. As the other students asked her questions about her strategy, Destiny felt in control. Maybe Phoenix academy won’t be so bad.

Chapter Text

It would be a normal weeknight for Blossom and her children. She had prepared dinner for her and the twins since her eldest daughter was off performing her duties as a hero. "I hope you two had a good first few days at your new school so far!" Said Blossom, smiling.

Destiny shrugs, looking down at her food and stirring it around. In the past few days, she has been getting bullied at school and online, with her demon heritage being the main topic of discussion. It was easier to put up a brave front, but she couldn't deny that the comments were starting to get to her. Even then, she wasn't going to bother worrying her mother about this; she didn't want to be a burden on her. "Oh, yeah, it was okay; nothing special; I learned some cool techniques and made a few friends."

"Oh…..okay," Blossom nervously bit her lip not wanting to pry. She could see that Destiny was upset about something but didn't want to pry further and risk being pushed away so she looked for a way to change the subject.

"Alex! I see you wearing the sweater I gifted you. And did you change your hair? Oh, It looks so cute on you sweetie!"

Alex nodded, blushing a little bit.

"Oh…thank you, mother. I thought it would be nice to try something new a little bit. Maybe cutting my bangs could be cute, you know change up my look? Do I look different? Do you guys think it's a good look for me?" Alex asks, trying to gauge everyone's thoughts on his appearance.

"You look like a mix of mom and strawberry shortcake with those bangs and mom's old sweater." Destiny notes looking at her twin

"Hehe watch out Destiny I think Alex is trying to be my twin and not yours!" Blossom jokes a little "I think you look fantastic Alex it's nice to see branching out your interests hehe, maybe we should wear matching outfits on mothers day what do you say?"

Alex cringes side eyeing Blossom, "Mom, please, don't mess up the thing we just started to have…"

"Ok ok i won’t,” Blossom said rolling her eyes as she gave Alex a half smile.

Destiny rubs the sleepiness from her eyes as she eats her dinner. She gently massaged her head when she felt a small smooth lump, her heart dropped realizing that it was a demon horn. Her stomach twisted, feelings of disgust and horror invaded the core of her being. Her body trembling as her eyes darted about the room trying to see if anyone had noticed

"I'm too tired to keep up the spell but if I make it upstairs I can throw on a necklace that can keep the illusion up for me." she thought. Coming up with a way of getting out of dinner without much thought she threw her fork on the floor making it look like an accident.

The sound of silverware clattering to the ground caught Blossom's attention, "What happened Destiny, are you okay? Is your food cold? Are you feeling sick honey, do you need to lie down?"

Alex rolled his eyes. "She just dropped something, Mother she isn't dying…." he said dryly.

Destiny chuckled nervously “Oh yeah it's nothing! Heh… silly clumsy me let me just..” she quickly scrambled under the table bumping her head in the process. "Ouch!" Destiny groaned, it coming out in an aggressive hiss as she gritted her teeth.

Blossom perked up noticing this trying to peek under the table "Honey, are you sure you are okay?” She asks “is there something you want to tell me….?"

"I said I'm fine mom, geez!" Destiny snapped crawling from under the table and storming off to the bathroom.

Blossom bites her tongue wanting to reprimand her daughter. But she let out a frustrated sigh sitting down.

Alex sighs, stirring his food. "Give her a minute.”

“You know this… hasn't been a great year for her, me...or you either. '' He says finding it hard for his lime green eyes to meet his mother's gaze. "We're all dealing with a lot of changes right now and fighting each other will only make this already dysfunctional family worse."

Blossom looked over at her child somberly, anguish building in the pit of her stomach hearing her child having to be a voice of reason. "You are right…could you bring Destiny her food? If she's not going to eat with me I don't want her to be hungry. "

"I said give her space not to avoid her ma. You're still the parent, don't act scared just try to be understanding." he simply said.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While the mother and son have their conversation, Destiny has a mini-crisis of her own. Unable to make it upstairs due to how quickly her transformation is taking place. She hid in the downstairs bathroom unable to look in the mirror fearing the results of her true form. Destiny had always had trouble with her body image but with her demon blood making things worse the discomfort did not stop there.
The transformation also brought her great pain due to her body having to rearrange itself from the inside out as it unfolds. As their body becomes a vessel of torment. Bones cracking and contorting, writhing in agony as limbs twist and stretch. Skin, once smooth, now tears, revealing pulsating veins of molten black. Eyes, once filled with life, turn into fiery orbs of torment, searing with an otherworldly intensity.
Destiny softly whimpered as she cups her mouth, her fangs jutting from her gums forcing her human teeth to fall and her mouth to be filled with a metallic taste. A mix of her saliva and the black substance dripping from her hands onto the cold tile floor.
The transformation is a symphony of suffering, a grotesque metamorphosis that consumes the character's essence, leaving only a painful embodiment of darkness in its wake. Her skull ached as it split open, a third eye bulged from her head and horns sprouted from her skull. Destiny whimpered softly through the pain.
She fights to remain standing, her muscles straining against the weight of the encroaching darkness. "Look at me….." a twisted voice growled, it was a mixture of hers and Aku.
"No...no no!" she refused, shaking her head.
"You can't deny me! You can't deny what you are, you can't deny your birthright! I'm inside you…." its dark hand reached out grabbing her by the horns yanking her forward forcing her to look at herself. "I am you… The more you fight me the more you're going to lose. People already hate you, your father, this world…your mother is embarrassed of you. Why not embrace this? Love me, it's all you're ever going to have."
"SHUT UP!" Destiny screeched, punching the glass.
Just then she hears a knock on the bathroom door from her mother "Destiny… honey you don't sound okay."
Tears rolled down Destiny's eyes. She wants to let her mother in but is scared that she will reject her seeing her in her true state "Mom… just please leave me alone." she begs
Blossom shook her head "Can't do that sorry. As your mother it's my job to be there for you even if it means annoying you to the ends of the earth. I'm not going to push you to let me in now but I'm not leaving this door till you let me help you."
Destiny sniffled covering her face "You'll think I’m gross… and ugly."
"You'll always be beautiful in my eyes no matter what you look like, " Blossom said
"I can find the beauty in you. Besides, I used to clean your bodily messes. Nothing you do can make me think you're gross. Is this a period thing? Because I've been waiting to give you that talk for so long. "
"Ma!? No, I started that months ago, this is... different." Destiny groaned
"Destiny please let me-Ah!?" Blossom gasped as she fell through a portal onto the bathroom floor beside her daughter. She would turn to look at her daughter and her eyes soften
Destiny was sprawled out on the floor, a few of her larger limbs tangled in the cramped hallway bathroom. Blossom chuckled to herself gently readjusting one of Destiny's wings "Oh? Is this it? You look adorable, honey. A bit of a mess in here but it's fine I'll help you clean it up." she said smoothing out her daughter's leathery bat-like wings
" Mom, I'm a monster!" Destiny groans covering her face " I look more like him than you and Dad….which is probably why….why" Destiny sniffles more fighting back tears
Blossom sighs, kneeling to her daughter's level pulling her into a hug "Hey, let's not think about that, your dad has his own issues to work out and none of that is your fault it's mine. Sometimes adults make decisions that aren't wise…or well thought out."
"Was I a mistake….?" Destiny asked
"You were one of the three best things that could ever happen to me. You are anything but that. I regret doing some things… I could have done better by you in the past. But that's the past and right now I'm here to do better by you in your present. Because you shouldn't have to go things like this all alone you're just a little girl."
Destiny huffed pulling away from her mom "I'm sixteen…I’m not a baby "
Blossom smirks pinching her daughter's cheeks "Says the pouty little girl heh, you're gonna be my baby till you're old and gray and have your grandkids, Tiny." Blossom teased using her daughter's nickname.
"So…how do I make this go away?” She asks “I hate using magic to look normal.”
Her mother sighs "Sorry but this is your normal now, honey. You have pretty heart-shaped horns, a cute lil tail, and sharp teeth. You can use elixirs, potions, and enchanted items to make you look more human but you're always going to look like this. So you're going to need to either own it or get used to using temporary solutions…” She looks at Destiny with feelings of anguish visible in her eyes "Do you think you're gonna be okay….?"
Before Destiny could answer Alex walked over to the door peeking in "I heard mom mention a mess and brought paper towels-oh damn!? Sis, is that you….?"
Destiny meekly nods looking up at her twin bracing for the worst "yeah… "
Alex chuckles while walking in " Damn…you look like that one vampire lady from that old show Dad let us watch on one of his weekends."
"Wait, the hot vampire lady with the pink hair!?” Destiny squealed Oh my gosh do I look like her?" Destiny asks her eyes lighting up a bit.
Alex shrugged, giving his sister a smug grin. "You clearly wouldn't look as good in leather and your fashion sense isn't as good but, yeah girl you look cool in a cute imp sorta way."
Destiny beamed looking up at Alex with hope, "I'm not scary at all?"
Alec scoffed, " you're anything but scary; you're a chubby munchkin with big goo goo eyes. Nothing is intimidating about you."
"Yes! There is hope for people to not see me as the antichrist after all!" Destiny exclaimed raising her hands in Victory simultaneously spreading out her wings accidentally smacking her mother and brother in the process.
WACK!
"Destiny…."
"Geez ! Warn somebody girl…"
"Oops, sorry guys…not used to this body yet." Destiny chuckled nervously.
Chapter Text
It was a lovely day in Townsville, simply perfect like no other. A glamorous car with an opalescent sheen gradually pulled up into the parking lot of Phoenix Academy and out of it stepped the perfectly shined shoes of none other than the student body's one and only, Wanda Zatara. Everything in the world around her was just right; birds were singing, everyone was smiling, and everything was just as perfect as her.
"Ah, it's another beautiful day!" Wanda said with a sigh of contentment as she walked up to her school's new entrance.
"Hey bestie, I brought your favorite!" A familiar voice exclaimed that belonged to none other than her best friend, Romeo Maximoff. As he handed her her favorite iced drink he smiled down at her with a charming smile, his luxurious curls blowing in the wind as if he was a model out of a magazine.
Just like her Romeo was perfect in every aspect. They both were the best-looking teens in their grade. Stunning features, naturally long well-kept hair, and smooth skin with model physiques that other students would kill to have. Everyone in the school looked to them as the blueprint of what perfection was. They were the model for girls and boys of Phoenix Academy. The epitome of beauty, brawn, intellect, and power.
As Wanda basked in their perfection the two popular teens were beamed up into their actual school which currently orbited in space.
Wanda giggled looking up at Romeo. "Aww! Romie, that's so nice of you, did you get the extra whipped cream?" she asked, peeking into the cup and her friend nodded in response. Wanda looked up and smiled at her fellow student body, other students smiling right back at her, greeting her with the same charisma. Everything was going perfectly that day until she came along. Destiny Grey… Wanda glared from afar watching Destiny chat it up with a group of girls. They seemed rather familiar ones she had once seen Romeo talk before. She couldn't hear what they were saying but she could tell it was something crude and childish. Destiny ecstatically bounced around, making fighting gestures. “So uncouth and un-lady-like..." Wanda huffed and turned to face her friend" Why does she have to go here…" Wanda muttered as she sipped on her drink
"Maybe because it's her mom's school? Ya know nepotisms kinda why a lot of us are here if you think about it," Romeo replies saying the last part softly as if he didn't want anyone to hear it.
Wanda huffed she was the daughter of the two greatest magic users in history and she had no choice but to be any different; she had worked hard to get into this school. "Hmmmmm I guess nepotism can get you anywhere...even those like her...in a way. What do you think Romeo…?" Wanda asked softly before taking another sip
"Mmmhm…” Romeo replied, taking a long sip as he was looking past her. Wanda tracked his gaze and cringed in disgust seeing that they met at Destiny and her larger male friend Manolo's rear end, his gaze switching between the two. "Romeo no…she acts rabid! Remember when she sparred with you!? She mauled your body, threw you around like a ragdoll by the hair, and pounded you into the floor like an ape! And He-He's basically a beast who knows how old he is he could be a grown man!" She whisper-yelled at him
"A fat ass is a fat ass, I don't care,” he said with no shame while sipping his coffee as he checked out Wanda's new mortal enemy. "You think Manny likes guys…I think I remember Arthur following him around they seemed pretty close.":
"You are so disgusting you know that," Wanda mutters, looking away. She couldn't deny it, Romeo is a boy, masculine in the way a male peacock is. Girls and boys threw themselves shamelessly at him and Romeo had no problem reciprocating those advances. Wanda detested that Romeo lacked standards; she'd seen her dear friend with boys and girls of every shape, size, and background. Little flings she caught him having on the side. Though she was grateful that he never openly flaunted them, they had a standard to uphold after all. But him openly looking at their headmistress’ portly halfbreed affair baby was too much to bear. "I need to get to class, talk to me when you're not being…icky" she grumbled.
Later that day In class Wanda and other students would prepare themselves for today's sparring lesson. Wanda was wrapping her hands and mentally preparing herself. " Focus Wanda you can beat Azura this time you are power, you are grace, and you will make all your enemies look like a pitiful disgrace " she repeated her mantra in her head though her mediation was short-lived as she was knocked over by Dorian who had fallen on her.
"Watch it, Mclain!" she snapped glaring down the redhead as she fixed her appearance.
"Heh…sorry Wanda…" Dorian meekly says his eyes downcasted as shrinks away from the girl.
But as he did so he nearly got trampled by Manny as he and Destiny Rough housed. Destiny jumped back from Manny’s claw swipe "Ha missed me kitty!" the Puff teased dodging the other boy's attempt at striking her. She grinned mischievously using her superior speed giving a swift blow to the gut.
"Aw what the fuck Des!?" he groaned as coughed up some spit, he held his stomach.
Des smugly chuckles " Hey all is fair game in a fight kitty, your stomach is me height. I'm just playing to my strengths!"
Manny smirked Deviously "Fine I'll play to mine then ya lil smart ass." he growled before falling on top of her, pinning her beneath him.
"Manny get your fat ass off me!" Destiny yelped flailing about as she struggled to free herself.
Manny chuckles slyly looking over his shoulder at her "Ha hell nah you staying there till you tell me what happened between you and Santiago."
Destiny growled, clawing the floor not wanting to even think about the boy in question ", hell no."
Manny chuckled darkly, "Hehe then you suffer."
Wanda scowled at them, rolling her eyes. This school had changed since the last villain attack.new students and teachers came in to replace those who left and since then standards have dropped. Wanda observed her fellow students. So many were sloppy, unkempt, all over the place. She could see every crack and flaw that needed a refined touch. For a school to call itself prestigious, it truly wasn't. She thought to herself as she touched up her gloss. A bit of it had smudged from her drink
Suddenly a whistle blew as Bismuth entered the classroom "Line up kiddies, today's gonna be fun!" exclaimed their teacher. " Today I've watched you all for a while and noticed you all tend to pair up with people who act similarly to you all. Making friends is all fun and good but it keeps you learning, from growing into better fighters," she says eyeing her students
"So I'm changing it up. Instead of letting you pick I'm pairing you up with students who I've seen have drastically different fighting techniques than you. This is meant to get you ready for real fights. You're not gonna know the person or thing you fight in the field. So this way you'll have to hone your skills and learn how to think on the fly!"
Some of the students sounded excited while others were concerned, the teacher began to pair the students with their opposite. "Grey you're with Zatara play nice you two!" Their teacher warned.
Wanda would be horrified " Her!? Why can't I spar with someone sane!?". Bismuth narrowed her eyes at Wanda " Watch it, Wanda…"
Destiny, in an attempt to ease the tension she felt growing, smiles up at her teacher. "It's cool Bismuth I got tough skin!" Destiny chuckled. Bismuth looked unsure but nodded "If you say so, Grey…."
Destiny would skip over to the mat eager to start the fight, the young puff energetic looking for an opening. Even though both she and Destiny were short in stature Destiny made her feel smaller. Other than being a foot taller the half-demon girl had a lot more mass and had more muscle build. While it wasn't defined at all; it was much more than Wanda had on her slender frame. She could see why Destiny kept up with the boys she practically acted like one as well behaving feral like a gremlin from hell. As if responding to Wanda's thoughts Destiny shot an eyebeam at Wanda's foot scaring her out of her thoughts. Before going in for a blow to her face. Wanda would swiftly dodge this obvious attack with ease and grace.
"Haha, you need to be a lot quicker than that Grey, I am not one of those schoolyard thugs you used to fight at your old school!" Wanda taunted.
Destiny rolled her eyes in annoyance "Wanda the shit you say just makes you sound dumb as hell. Like I grew up in a gated community I just went to a public school. Can you cut the bullshit? Why don't you actually swing on me so we can get this over with?"
Wanda scoffed, waving off Destiny “I'm strategizing my next move!”
"You're just talking shit about me in your head. Do us all a favor and multitask. I have more fun with your boy toy, at least he's good at conversation." Destiny chuckles with cynicism "Clearly he's your better half he's not scared to get rough unlike you Princess."
Wanda's face darkened as she glared at Destiny for that comment she needed to teach her a lesson promptly
"You know sweetie, just a couple of ballet lessons could help with that agility of yours. You wanna land like a swan you know!" Wanda said sickly sweet, her smile innocent and pure as she cocked her head at Destiny. with the flick of her wrist, she summoned a barrier around them. This would keep others from interfering with her lesson
Destiny felt a shiver run down her spine. When did it get cold? She could feel the atmosphere around her change and it all made her feel uneasy.
She was right where Wanda wanted her, " And well ... .unlike you I like to use my magic to speak for me instead of using my hands hehehe but for you, I'll make a tiny exception!" Wanda giggled darkly, summoning blocks of ice in the form of two hands crushing Destiny between them both.
Destiny, who wasn't very impressed by this, phained discomfort to Wanda… well tried to "Oooh nooo are so hurt how will I ever recover? Destiny groans as she breaks free of the ice, shattering it to pieces as shards are thrown everywhere Destiny hovers over towards Wanda looking down at her. Her hardened gaze would soften as she came down to her level closer.
Wanda glares as she condenses the moisture in the air around them transforming it into a condensed fog clouding the vision of her opponent. As she prepared for another attack she created more distance between them both
"I don't get why you have so much hate in your heart for me. I have never hurt anyone. All I want to do is use the abilities I have for good. Isn't that what we are all here for? You don't have to like me and you don't have to be my bestie whatever but it makes no sense why you're such a damn bitch!" Destiny exclaimed. The girl in front of her looked pitiful and she loved it, especially Destiny's eyes. They were full of frustration, maybe even a bit of sadness. “You were clearly lying to yourself earlier your soo emotional!" Wanda chuckled. Destiny groans her hair going up in flames ``Why do you hate me….?" I've never done anything to you ever.``
Wanda cast her glare at the other girl, colder than the ice through her fog malice dripping from her mouth like venom. "You… . don't know?"
Destiny's body shook anxiously, and her fists balled. “No, you're not exactly the queen of communication!”
"How can you be so dumb!? Look at your hands!" Wanda says gesturing to Destiny's hands that we're engulfed in hellish flames "Hell look at yourself! You're a demon… a filthy mongrel disgrace to this whole school. I can't even comprehend why your mother can even bear to look at you! "
Destiny felt a twinge of pain at Wanda's words, her jaw clenched fighting back a growl. She could see the other girl's fangs that attempted to hide behind her glamor, "Don’t you dare speak like you know my mother! I’m here because I want to help people just like everyone else here!"
Wanda scoffed, softly chuckling, her eyes glowing with malice. “Aww, you try hard to make us accept you? Like with that lil mask you put on to play human? So we don't see your real face, your disgusting demon face." Wanda hissed at Destiny as she formed thousands of shards of ice trapping Destiny in place.
"That's not good enough!" Wanda's hand sliced through the air with elegance as she shot daggers of ice at Destiny, one of them slicing into the flesh of her arm, other shards piercing her hands and legs. Her inky dark abyssal demon blood seeps through her uniform "This school is meant for the elite and the best that heroes and the world have to offer and you are nothing. You're barely human, you don't even bleed the way we do!" Wanda screeches as she releases hell down on Destiny. Raining more ice down on her.
The young Puff let out a cry of agony as her body was being cut open. Destiny’s heart rate rocketed, her body was in pain, and the only thing numbing it was the rush of adrenaline pumping through her veins. Helping her to move quickly as Wnda unleashed the next onslaught of ice shards her way. Dodging the oncoming blows, her thoughts became blurred together as she fought to survive. Wanda had her eyes closed, and she had nowhere to run.
Her skin was becoming riddled with cuts faster than her body could heal the tiny wounds. Which wasn't a problem, but she still had a gaping wound in her leg, arm, and hand, and the only thing keeping her from bleeding out was the slowly melting ice. but that meant she couldn't access most of her other demon magic, risking ice melting from the heat. Was she going to die?! Would the teachers let Wanda kill her? Did her life mean anything to them or anyone else in this world?
Wanda could see a Bismuth out of the corner of her rushing over to stop them and she used her magic to put a barrier up to prolong their fight. Just enough for her to have her fun. Meanwhile from the outside Bismuth was hammering away at the barrier trying to get in. "Shit, shit, shit!" She gritted. “Wanda let this down, you don't know what you're doing!" Other students would attempt to form a crowd as the fight continued but they would be pulled away by teachers who attempted to break down this barrier. Wanda’s magic proved difficult to break down.
Wanda ignored it all and she found it all amusing. Seeing how easy it was to get under the girl's skin with a few words. Her insecurities practically hung off for Wanda to pick. The whole ordeal had the girl before her seething which filled Wanda with satisfaction. Destiny's face felt hot with frustration and her eyes were burning with rage as she fought to keep herself composed. Struggling to keep something down with each breath she took, "You're wrong!" Destiny exclaimed
"Aww are you gonna cry? Did I strike a nerve?” Wanda taunted as she reeled back for another attack but before she could react she felt her body being carved open and her head felt as if it were being split open and a shrill scream that would shake her soul to its core filled her brain before it turned into a loud ringing in her ears and the world around her would fade quickly into a black abis it would be some time before Wanda came to. As did she would feel something cold and wet press against her face.
"Oh god, you're not dead! Romeo gasped letting out a sigh of relief as if he had been holding his breath for a while " I mean not that you looked dead but..." Romeo shook his head "Anyway! I'm so glad you're awake. The nurse thought you might have had to go to the hospital!"
Wanda scoffed. “Of course I am… wait why am I in the nurse's office?”
"Well… let's just say your wish came true, everyone is definitely going to see Destiny just like you see her after today."
Wanda froze, her body going rigid and cold as she looked up at Romeo. "What did that mongrel do?"
“It's better if you look for yourself,” he said, reaching into Wanda’s bag to take out her compact mirror. She snatched it from him, opening it to see the damage. Wanda sees a freshly made cut across her face and then lets out a bellowing shriek.
“Wanda….I-it's going to be okay,” Romeo starts reaching out to his friend. “I could heal you...I could fix it,” he offered.
Wanda jerked away. “No…I want them to see, I want them to know what kind of BEAST she is!" She sneered as her delicate hands gently ran across the cut across her face. She knew if left alone it would scar breaking the symmetry of her face and managing the image of perfection she worked so hard to achieve.
Seconds later an older boy with Jet black hair came into view from the bathroom mirror. Chad Wanda's boyfriend bursts into the nurse's office and immediately rushes to Wanda's side, shoving Romeo out of the way with ease in the process. He gasps in horror as he takes in the fresh scar across her face.
Settling into her facade Wanda sniffled looking up at Chad Summoning her tears to indicate her distress. "oh my god chadiekins look at what she did to my faaaaaaaace!" she sobbed throwing herself onto her boyfriend
Chad pulled her in closely looking his girlfriend over. "I can't believe that bitch had the nerve to ruin your perfect and delicate face," Chad hissed, wrapping his arms around her. "Are you okay? She didn't do anything else to you, did she?"
Wanda would dramatically go limp in Chad's arms as if she was too weak to stand; "she attacked me like a rabid animal sweetie. I had to fend her off. But I feared she was going to harm the others. B-but at what cost!"
"You did the right thing, baby...I'm sorry it had to be you in that position.." Chad says, petting her hair.
Romeo grimaces at the scene before him. Not wanting to endure it any longer, he stands up and quickly takes his leave. "See you around...?" He mutters before heading out the door.
Wanda would look up at Chad batting her eyes. " Chad darling, we can't let her get away with this. She could be dangerous! She already scarred my beautiful face. Think of the other horrible things she could do! The teachers are too blind to see! We must keep our student body safe from people like her. We're heroes after all.....I need you to be...my hero Chad.." Wanda says softly tilting her head forward and looking up at half Kryptonian with big eyes buttering him up.
“Don't worry, baby. I've already got something planned for her,” he says with an unusually eerie tone as a smug smile settles on his face.
Chapter Text
Even though she was told that she wasn't at fault for the fight between her and Wanda, Destiny couldn't seem to shake the overwhelming sense of anxiety that consumed her. The whole day she felt on edge and just wanted to go home. Her anxiety was at its highest as she pushed through the rows and rows of students. It felt never-ending and suffocating to be around so many people. She felt claustrophobic as they’d push, collide, or bump into her in the halls packed tightly as if she were one of the millions of sardines in a tin can.
She wanted to get out. She needed to be free from this hell. From the many eyes she felt observing her. Their thoughts of her consumed her mind, and she needed an escape.
Then, finally, she was outside. The humid, smoggy air of the city had never felt more refreshing. Yet came the next issue: finding her mom so she could leave this hellish place. Her eyes shifted about, frantically scanning the many dozens of cars.
"C'mon mom, don't tell me you left me here. I can't go home with Manny. Bea's already gone!" She whimpers as she searches.
Seeing as the view from the stairs didn't help her search, on top of knowing that if she stayed there she would be a sitting duck for Manolo to snatch up and interrogate, Destiny tries to step out and search for the car herself.
Suddenly, a blur of lilac speeds in front of her, almost ending her life. Well, she'd probably do more damage to the vehicle honestly...
There was a convertible decked out in the most girlish things imaginable: glitter, stickers, and lashes, were in front of her. To say the least, the colors gave Lisa Frank a run for her money. Not to mention the loud blaring sound of Flo Mili playing. In the driver's seat was Kiki, the girl in the hallway. In the passenger seat was fellow popular friend Saffron, whom she met briefly in first period, and in the backseat, Kailani waved giddily at Destiny.
“Hey Destiny! You look like you're in a rush to leave and don't have a ride, so we thought you’d like to hang out with us and go shopping!” Kiki says.
Unsure what to do, Destiny avoids looking up at Kiki and the other girls and begins fidgeting with her hands. The idea of hanging out with these girls was fun. But she still felt rather shaken from her encounter with Wanda. This left the girl feeling uneasy in the presence of other students.
“T-that seems nice of you guys, but I don't know we just met."
Kailanni pouted, peeking from the backseat.
"Aw come on Destiny," Kailanni said, "it'll be super fun to know you more without the stuffy school suffocating us."
She beams "Besides I heard they got some good deals going on."~ She said in a sing-song tone.
Destiny was unsure of what she could say but her mind was quickly made up as she could hear Manolo calling for her in the distance.
“Uh...actually yeah sure totally!” Destiny says quickly as she practically dove into the back seat before the girls sped off. The wind blows through Kiki’s short and curly hair as she drives on the scenic route, she looks back seeing Destiny sitting with Kailanni from her rearview mirror.
As they ride off, Saffron turns to Destiny, the punkish girl’s darkened lips forming a gentle smile."So, basic icebreaker question, what kind of music do you listen to?" Saffron asks.
As she tried to sum up her answer Destiny looked at her playlist on her phone. The songs she had saved were random, a mass collection of audio all saved up not organized at all. This wasn't going to be the easiest answer.
"Uh....anything except country....well if it's not Southern Gothic I won't listen to it. I'm flexible with most playlists." She shrugs, flipping through her phone.
Saffron let out a soft chuckle, "You're missin' out, some country music really good," Saffron says then turned back around.
Kailanni's face lit up, looking over Destiny's shoulder at her phone. "Interesting, I kinda thought you'd be into alternative rock." Kailanni comments, "or at the very least, My Chemical Romance."
Destiny looked up at Kailanni, her cheeks flushed with nervous embarrassment. "I mean…I'm into most genres, including even old-school rock. I can jam to anything that makes my brain itch in the way I like. It's weird I kinda can't fully hate any genre in particular. My playlist is kinda trash because of that...it's soo random you won't even believe it."
"So what you're saying is don't ever pass you the aux cord...duly noted," Kiki teases with a sing-song tone.
Saffron gave Kiki a look. "You should at least give her one chance, Kiki," Saffron chuckles.
Kailanni giggles a bit at this.
Des gave a nervous chuckle as she mentioned her eclectic music taste. "Yeah, my playlist jumps from Usher to Mitski, to Mean Girls the musical, and even Shrek. I guess I'm a good choice for road trips, but not so much for parties..."
Kiki furrowed her brow, clearly curious and confused. "Wait, you enjoy gloomy and depressing music? Like, unironically?"
“Yeah…I like most music unironically…. is there a problem with that? I'm kinda confused. Was it supposed to be ironic?”
Kiki tilted her head, her confusion evident as she spoke. "It's just surprising, honestly. I mean when we first met you you kinda seemed well… so upbeat and cheerful! Damn, goofy even! The thought of you listening to something like 'Losing Dogs' feels a bit strange, doesn't it?"
Des listened to Kiki's words, nodding as if she fully understood but her thoughts were clouded by feeling she couldn't explain so her best response to Kiki just came out as a simple, "Oh…."
Kiki grimaced inwardly looking back at the road dejectedly. She felt like she was failing at this conversation. She began questioning everything she had said. Was she being too blunt? Did she say the wrong thing…? Kiki thought to herself.
She looks over to Saffron with a pleading gaze mouthing the words “help me.”
Understanding, Saffron leans back in her seat and turns back to their new passenger. "I think what Kiki means is your dreary taste in music doesn't exactly fit your pastel prep-esque aesthetic. Which is fine, just interesting, I guess? Makes you a tad less readable."
Destiny blanked, thinking to herself, ‘I look prep...is it the sweater collar combo…? Is there anything wrong with prep?? No. But does that fit my vibe? Do I have a vibe? What is a vibe?’
Kailanni nods, agreeing with her other friends. "Yeah, you're a bit mysterious that way," she added.
"Really...? That's a first. I'm usually told I talk too much and am easily readable?" Destiny was confused, she'd never been described in such a way as mysterious or unreadable; it gave her a new feeling she couldn't describe.
"I mean… maybe to people you know and talk to but we don't know you and right now you're not opening your mouth much to give us anything," Kiki says looking up at her rearview mirror.
"All we know is you're the head mistress's kid she kept hidden for years, you have all the puff powers plus magic, and you are part demon for some reason. Oh, and Wanda hates your guts and you like pretty much all music and fighting to a concerning amount," Kiki listed.
"But who is Destiny..?"
There was a long pause as Destiny looked around as if she was lost. "Me, I guess, I don't know?"
‘I am myself right…what type of question is that…is that sarcasm? No, I've heard sarcasm before. Is that…was that supposed to be a philosophical question…I'm thinking too hard, aren't I?’ she thought to herself looking up at Kiki.
Kiki groans softly looking up at the road.
Sighing, Destiny sunk into her seat before turning to look up at Saffron to admire her sense of style before looking down at her own clothes.
Grimacing as she stared down at what she wore. A baggy sweater combed with a pleated skirt. She looked childish and sickeningly cute in comparison to the mature ruggedness of the other girl. The combination of Saffron's bold makeup, hair and clothing.
She didn't think her clothes were ugly she knew Mako and her mother tried when it came to shopping for her but she needed help from people who seemed like they'd understand her.
“H-hey…uh could you guys maybe help me with updating my closet? I'm kinda going through a fashion transition from right from Walmart to my mom bought it chic and I need help….”
Kiki lit up thinking of ways she could help Destiny with her look. ‘Maybe if we help spruce up her look people won't think she's a crazy accident waiting to happen…people are visual creatures after all. Oo, I'm gonna make this girl look good soo good she'll be more popular than Wanda and nobody will bother listening to what she says!’ Kiki gleefully giggles to herself.
Kailanni cringed a bit at the mention of Walmart."That's definitely gonna need to change. By the time we're done you're gonna go from Strawberry Shortcake to Strawberry Cheesecake."
She turned towards Kiki, "Hey, are we there yet?"
Kiki beams, "gimme a moment!" Just then the car quickly swerves around and they hit the parking lot.
"Strawberry Cheesecake?" Saffron mutters in confusion as she steps out of the car.
"It's a little saffron joke." Kailanni was next to leave the car, stretching her arms and legs a bit before walking off with her other friends.
"Come on, Destiny!
"Right behind you just slow because I'm short!" Des huffed, speed walking to catch up to the others. "Besides Hot Topic, where do you think I could find clothes that fit my vibe? I love pastels but I want a mature vibe, ya know? I'm turning seventeen this year and I want to look at it!" Destiny proclaimed before shrinking on herself, "but I kinda don't want to draw too much unwanted attention to my body than I get already...."
"I don't see why. If I had a body like that I'd show it off! You know you'd look hot in bell bottoms like me, then you'd have to fend the boys off with a stick!" Kiki jokes.
Not catching the joke, Destiny shook her head. "Nah, I'm good, my bear mace and pocket knife do the trick...wait scratch that. That's how I made my current ex fall in love with me..." Destiny trailed off before turning to the group. "Maybe I should just start shooting weirdos. They can't bother me if they're dead, right?"
Kiki quietly walked closer to Saffron, leaving Kailanni next to Destiny.
Noticing that she might have said something off, Destiny tried to find something to say. “Hey you know…fun fact about me I've picked up a few fun tricks with my magic recently. My sister's friend Ivy taught me how to make food to recreate myself so I have a bottomless bag of cool ranch Doritos if anyone wants some…?” Destiny squeaked meekishly, pulling out a bag as they entered the mall.
The building was massive with bright flashing lights with a glass ceiling with stores galore. Destiny looked around in awe. Taking in the scenery her eyes widened in amazement. “This is so cool! Where should we go to shop first?”
"Oh, we can go to Forever 21. The clothes in there seem cute,” Kailanni suggests. “Gosh, I can't wait to see you get all dressed up! This feels like one of those movies!” She squeals with excitement, bouncing up and down.
“Hehe, feels like it!” Destiny giggles.
"Soo, Des, what's the deal with you and Romeo? You and him seem to have some sort of tension between each other"~ Kiki asked, nudging the girl.
Des huffed, her cheeks slightly flushed. "He's just a stupid boy...annoying motherfucker acts like he's all that...but he's not!" She grumbles.
Kiki grins deviously. "You think he's cute. Don't even lie!"
Destiny's face contorted in a way that could only be described as hysterical "Ha. HA! I do not. I despise him! He's a pompous asshole. N-not to mention, he's Wanda's lackey, and no matter how much I punch his face he still has a smug grin. The nigga drives me crazy!"
Kiki giggles, finding Destiny's reaction amusing.
"If he wasn't such a smug jerk he could be cute...Keyword being could." Kailanni added.
"He's one of the less insufferable boys at the school. So there's that, I guess..?" Saffron adds with a shrug.
"Honestly, I feel like I'm done with boys...they're cute, sometimes hot even, but I don't know. Sometimes I just want to kick them all in the balls for the dumb things they do... I think girls are way better when it comes to dating. Girls are cuter, too!" Des rambles, giggling as she does so.
Kailanni nudges Saffron, "there's something ya got in common." She jokes.
Saffron rolls her eyes.
"I don't get it...what do we have in common...?" Destiny asks in an innocent voice, a bit confused, wondering what Kailanni was implying what she and Saffron had in common.
Kailanni chuckles, "nevermind. Anyways, we really can't chat forever. Which store are we going to first? Club Banana's right there, that looks like a good spot, right?"
"Ooh yeah, the clothes there are soo cute we can see what looks good on Destiny!" Kiki says grabbing Des by the arm, "I'm gonna make you look unrecognizable!" She squeals.
Destiny looks over at Saffron with a nervous expression as if looking for help. As she was dragged into the store.
"You're gonna look so good." Kailanni follows Kiki and Destiny to the store.
Not saying anything, Saffron follows the others in.
~~••~~~•••••••••~~~~~~~~~~
After entering the store the girls began searching for clothes.
Nudging Destiny as they walk in Kailanni leans in to ask, “Hey Destiny I've been meaning to ask…wasn't your hair alot shorter today?”
Playing with dense curls Destiny looks over her shoulder. Earlier that day her hair had been shoulder length. But after a rather one sided fight with Wanda the length of it had grown significantly.
“Oh..uh when my hair turns to flames its fire right? Well when the flames grow so does my hair in general.” She says with a shrug twirling some hair around her finger.
Kailanni gasps, “Oh my gosh girl that's soo cool I wish my hair could magically grow.”
Destiny lets out an awkward laugh. “haha.. no you don't this shit was heavy as hell… Mrs. Noceda had to cut six feet of hair just so I wouldn't trip over myself after leaving the nurse's office. He he heh…this shit still hot on my neck…”
“Then why didn't you ask her to cut it shorter? I'm sure she would have.” Kailanni says, pulling a scrunchie from her purse to tie Destiny's hair.
“She said my hair was pretty and I didnt have the guts to ask her to cut it. I thought it would make her sad…” Des squeaks weakly, “thank you. My neck was burning up.
“Hehe, your welcome Destiny!” Kai chirped.
Meanwhile
Kiki had practically thrown herself at a mannequin pointing out the outfit it wore. “Oh my god that outfit would look so hot on you Saffron!”
Her friend huffed, arms folded, “I know right? But my moms would kill me if I ever wore this around them, let alone outside…”
Hearing this, Destiny befuddled, “Just change when you're not around her. Maybe try not to go overboard in public if you think you might run into her or her friends? I used to do it all the time when my mom made me wear dumb clothes for school that made me look like a doll.”
Saffron amused by this chuckles, “O-Oh look at the rebel over here? Does mommy dearest know you're this sneaky?”
The Puff rolled her eyes and scoffs, “I have her weekly schedule and footsteps memorized to a T. That woman doesn't know half the things I've done. Plus, she has more important things to do than bother me.”
“Pretty sure my dad either knew and never cared and was never concerned enough to know what I do...”
Kiki gasped in amusement at her clothing search coming to a halt, “oh my god did you sneak out to parties!? You must have soo many cool stories to tell.”
Des shook her head as she looked for accessories she liked. She knew for fact she was never popular enough to actually be invited to any parties on purpose. “Nah, I would have to be liked enough to get invited or have the balls to sneak it to them and I'm not built for that.” She chuckles cynically.
“But! I do have a stash of weed in my mattress and I have used my powers to have secret sleepovers at my best friend's and cousin's house. That's rebellious I guess?” She chuckles.
“Oh you sound fun, we should have a secret slumber party!” Kai giggles, clapping her hands together.
“That sounds cool. We could watch slashers and monster movies. I heard of a few good ones I could show you guys!” Destiny beams.
Kiki grimaced, “they aren't super bloody… right?”
“It's a slasher Kiki, of course it's bloody…” Saffron says flatly.
“The more guts the better! I love watching them. I like betting on who dies first. It makes it fun to watch especially when the kills are gnarly and almost soo graphic you can feel it!” Destiny exclaims, giggling maniacally.
Kiki squirms uncontrollably as Destiny spoke, almost looking visibly ill.
Saffron snickers, nudging Destiny. “Easy girl, you're scaring the children.”~ she says getting to Kiki.
“You seem to love violence….” Kiki comments, feeling more than unnerved by Destiny's excitement over topics of gore and the macabre. Her mind couldn't help but wander to the rumors she had heard about the girl. Her mind is fighting to not believe the hearsay.
“You might want to cut down on that a lil bit.... you wouldn't want people to think you're some blood thirsty vigilante or something. Given your family's whole reputation and everything….” Kiki says.
Des frowned, taking what Kiki was saying wondering what she meant by that before she shook it off snorting, cracking a toothy grin at her, “Oh c'mon! It's just normal girly things Kiki! Can't a girl love a lil manslaughter a lil arson?…blood guts and violence never hurt anyone.
“Besides,...” the young chem X super starts with a grin. She had always wanted to make her family proud but she never wanted to just be another one of her mother's perfect children.
“ Do I look like Alex or Bea to you?” She asked snarkily
“Yes,” Kiki says flatly
Destiny rolls her eyes, “ You know what I mean I'm them Bea has her sassy, preppy cool girl perfect daughter vibe. Alex is the smart pretty boy next door. Does that look like me to you?”
“Now c'mon Destiny they have more qualities to them than that…” Kiki pouts
“Oh of course I know that, I live with them but that's as much anyone looking in sees. My mom has too much pride to let those two be anything beyond that. But unlike them she has too much guilt to do the same to me even if she wants to. Not like I'd let her control me again.” She starts assuredly before holding up a pair of platform boots.
“Anyway, back to what's really important. Do you think I could wear these boots without falling on my face? I basically trip on air but I love feeling tall hehe!”
“Oh totally,” Kai chirped as she sprung to Destiny's side , “Tho just in case…maybe you could try using your ability to fly to keep yourself from falling?”
Destiny pauses, taking in Kailanni's suggestion realizing she could have stopped herself from being ridiculously clumsy a long time ago, “ fuc..”
“Kai, I think you broke the girl…” Saffron teases
“Oh man…” Kai squeaked, worried she had done something to hurt her new friend.
Taking the opportunity for her plan to take into effect “I think this is the perfect time for her to try on some clothes!” Kiki proclaimed placing a stack of clothes in Destiny's arms pushing her towards the changing room.
Snapping out of her daze Destiny looked down at the stack of clothes in her hands “I didn't pick these out..”
“I know they're some things me and Lanni picked out. We thought they would look adorable on you! Give you a fresh new look, trust me you'll love how you look!” she assured the girl, closing the door behind her.
“Kiki, what are you doing…..?” Saffron asked flatley in a hushed tone.
“I'm helping her…you've seen how she is and you know how stuffy everyone can be at school. They'll shun her. Maybe if she at least looks the part people will like her.” Her friend replies softly, looking as if she might have been caught in the act of something.
Saffron groans, pinching the bridge of yer nose. “Kiki, what the hell? If they don't like her for who she is, that's their issue, not hers. She needs real friends right now; she doesn't need to be surrounded by fake ones.”
“I know but…what if she gets bullied too much and snaps one day? The school already got blown up and now it's in space. What's gonna happen if that happens up there? We can't breathe in space!”
Kalanni gasped, “Kiki, Destiny wouldn't!”
“We don't know that girl like that, Kai!” Kiki's whisper yelled.
“I-I can't be with you right now…I really hope your intentions are pure here I really do…” Saffron states looking at her friend in annoyance.
“I promise my intentions are pure, I just want her to look nice and have a nice time. C'mon, Saf, you know me, girl. I would never try to pull anything slick.” Kiki says looking up at her friend with a pleading gaze.
Saffron sighs, “Fine, just try to relax, okay? She's new and has gone through a lot already. Just let her get comfortable and we'll see who she is. There's no need to jump to conclusions or worry about who she is or how others will think.”
“Okay I'll try…”
Unknown to them, Destiny had heard some of their conversation.
~~••~~~•••••••••~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, somewhere unknown, a dark figure stares into an orb at the girls as they shop.
He grumbles to himself, nails tapping against his desk with an irritated sneer, “so….this thing is our father’s favorite? Pathetic, it's just a sniveling little girl!”
Another, less brooding, figure hovers across from him on a fainting couch. They chuckle, crossing their legs as they sip on a mysteriously bubbling drink. The technicolor flames they called hair illuminates the otherwise dreary and dark room. “Hehe, my grumpy little brother has daddy issues~” They tease before letting out a high pitched giggle.
Their brother in question snarls, glaring up at them, “Shut it, Regan!”
“Why are you even watching the kid, Blaine? You saw earlier; she's just a tiny, weak gremlin. I mean, she even got her pitiful lil ass handed to her by some insignificant nobody, so why do you care?” They questioned.
Blaine leans back letting out a low hiss as he flips through a book and tosses Regan a file. “Because I know she was holding back. She is a lot more capable in her current state than she lets on.”
“But, regardless, she'd only be considered a low level demon by most standards… So, I want to see what makes her soo special. I want to test her to see why he dubbed her his champion, his heir.” He seethes.
Blaine presses a buzzer, “Esmeralda darling, could you please send up Venus and Zozo?”
His assistant would respond back with a meek sigh, “sorry sir. Venus has her hands tied at the moment with the task you sent her and Carnage on involving the gang territories in the city… and Zozo is in the middle of an exam….”
Blaine groans, “whose class?”
“Your godmother's…. I could get Jolene?” She suggests.
Blaine shook his head, “no no, it's fine. The last thing I want her on this to disaster… too much to clean up. Oh wait… speaking of clean up. Isn't a certain someone downtown right now?”
“Yes, sir, he is.”
“Perfect,” he grins wickedly.
~~••~~~•••••••••~~~~~~~~~~
Destiny shuddered as she finished dressing, a creeping chill tracing up her spine. "Guys....do you ever feel...off? Like you are being watched? And not in the typical way?" She asks the girls on the other side of the door.
"It's probably the security cameras. They give me the creeps, too, sometimes," Kailanni responds. "Just ignore it and you'll be fine, if they do cause trouble we got your back."
Taking a deep breath she centers herself. "Okay......if you say so," Destiny sighs, fixing her top while observing herself in the mirror.
The clothes picked out for her were cute, hugging her body nicely. But.... they left her feeling exposed in areas that made her feel practically naked. "Uh guys I'm not so sure that this fit you picked is really me...."
Concerned, Kalanni walked up to the door “Oh no…is it too tight you? We couldn't have a different size,” she offered.
Destiny shook her head pinching her sides "No....just not used to having my stomach or rolls being exposed it feels foreign
... and weird. "
"Hmmm I can find you a different top if you like." she offered before turning to look for a different one for her.
Shaking her head, Kiki stepped in. “Kai she'll never progress style wise if she never steps out of her comfort zone," Kiki states sternly before turning to the dressing room door. "C'mon Des come out so we can see you girl." Kiki urged
"OH...okay," Destiny sighs, stepping out of the dressing room "How do I look...?"
Kiki beams. "Hot girl, you look good!" She squeals
"I feel like I got a lot of hanging out in this lil skirt..." Destiny blushed in embarrassment tugging her skirt down in the back "Kinda miss my sweater....to" she frowns holding her arms behind her back.
Kiki scoffed, "Sweaters are for winter! It is spring and your body needs to be sprung. Stop hiding it under all those damn layers! "Kiki exclaims. "Your body is beautiful, it does not need to be hidden. So, I think this outfit draws attention to your assets nicely."
Kiki continues explaining why she and Kalanni picked out the outfit for Destiny. "You see Destiny, the corset cinches the waist and shows off your figure. Plus the ribbon the holes poke through are in a cute heart shape. Which really adds to the cute lil gothic style you like." Kiki giggles, nudging.
Destiny groaned softly as she felt her thoughts being pushed aside. As the girls talked amongst themselves.
“Thanks; I think the top also paid well with the boots Destiny chose. It brings the whole outfit together!” Kalanni says as she smiles cheerfully.
She had been enjoying herself exceedingly while hanging around and assisting Destiny with her fresh look. It was during her time at school that she developed a strange curiosity regarding Destiny.
When it came to things such as her demeanor and her sense of style, even her abilities were very different from those of her sister Bea. She also wanted to make friends with her and find out more about her because she was kept a secret from the public. She found all of the possibilities of who she was as a person to be quite fascinating.
"So, aside from Wanda, how's the school been treating you?" Kiki asks as she plays with her bracelet. "It can be a lot for someone, especially the schedules."
Adjusting her clothes to get more comfortable, Destiny looks up Kiki's question bringing her out of her head. "Pretty decent. I like that I'm not given the princess treatment honestly....though for some teachers it's the opposite. Like for instance my uncle Dipper is actually a teacher at our school and normally he's chill....but damn he's so hard on my grades. Like for my written homework he docks points for my grammar!" Des pouts.
"I know he means well and just doesn't want to be too nice cuz im family...I also like Ms. Jen- uh she hulk sometimes when the boys seem like they're gonna talk about dumb shit I just have my lunch with her and bug her while she eats and grades papers!" Des giggles.
Kiki gave the girl a perplexed look, "You have nobody else to hang out with besides those guys...?" Kiki asked, looking a bit concerned. "Nobody else at the school wants to talk to you?"
"UH...Not sure I'm used to people coming to me. I kinda don't have the best judgment of character on people or the best skills reading the room. Kinda why I have soo many exes. You think a person is just cool, eccentric, shy or sensitive and misunderstood...when they're kinda just an asshole! Haha...plus after today, I kinda proved Wanda right and I don't think anyone wants to hang out with the girl who cut someone's face open..." Destiny says, looking down at her feet.
Kiki titled Destiny's head to look up at her. "Hey, enough of that bullshit. That girl attacked you. Like, she literally stabbed you. If anything ya should have done more than cut her face. I mean... mutilation isn't okay...but you know she deserved to get her ass beat."
Destiny snorts, finding what Kiki said a lil funny and happy someone didn't see her as a monster.
Kiki would giggle changing the subject, "Anyway maybe this would be a good time to try to reinvent yourself. You're at a new school and shit we don't know you too well so maybe a new vibe and fresh look could show people how cool you are? Maybe you'll be just as popular as Bea or Alex?"
"Yeah… just like them..." Destiny nods, her voice trailing off.
Noticing the change in tone, Saffron stepped in. "Or not, if the whole loner thing is your preference," she added with a slight chuckle.
Destiny shrugs. "Kinda don't know what I want to be right now at this point...I went from my world being mostly my home to being expected to be invisible because Ma said it was safer if nobody knew I existed. I was comfortable with that for a while, you get used to how things are but I was always kinda itching to be seen. Now everyone's looking at me and it...intense ya know?" Destiny gulps.
"I can imagine. I get wanting to be seen but like...in a leading role, not you're the only doctor in the room and someone is dying way." Saffron says.
Destiny huffed, the suffocating feeling of emotions she's held in building up like bile in her throat. "I've just wanted to feel seen...always kinda had the vibe I was a dirty lil secret everyone was ashamed of..."
She snorts cynically looking up at the girls fighting to wipe the tears building up in her eyes. “I mean picture this; imagine all your life you see...YOUR family showing up on TV and in magazines always together happy and smiling without you.” Her voice trembles as she continues fighting hard to remain composed and calm. But the words began to pour out her mouth like vomit.
As the girls watched their eyes filled with worry and concern.
“I had to go through life living a lie knowing the truth. All while they get to pretend to be Townsville's 'perfect' family... and my existence is completely overlooked…while I could barely even live on my own separate from them because my mother tells me it's too risky for you to be noticed..." Destiny says bitterly.
"But now it's like...all I am is seen visually but nobody wants to hear me and see who I am inside. They only want to make assumptions and it just...pisses me off!" Destiny exclaimed her hair bursting into flames, dark abysmal tears rolling down her cheeks.
“God…such a fucking crybaby fuck…” she groaned turning her back towards the dressing room. “I'm tired of this damn skirt. I'm gonna put some pants on…” She sniffled as she walked towards the dressing room.
“Oh no…someone should go talk to her...” Kalanni says, turning to her friends.
Kiki sighs, “I will…”
As Destiny turned to get back to change, Kiki would stop her. “Hey…I didn't mean to push you. I just wanted to help. You seem like you wanted a change and I thought that…”
“If you changed my look people would like me better…that I would look cool enough and be your ride to popularity? Be part of my new clique so you guys could be like my big sister and Alex's friends?” Destiny sneers.
“What no-no I had pure intentions I mean–yes I want people to like you and I would like you to be popular–I just…” Kiki says, stumped with what else to say.
Destiny would glare at her from the corner of her eye before hovering up to the girl in front of her, her gaze darkened “Say it, just spell it out Kiki…say the words you think,” she says coldly.
“I just…don't want you to become isolated and turn into…”
“A monster,” Destiny finishes leaning back, chuckling cynically. “Yeah, yeah... there's a thing about that…if I wanted to I would have been that already. Not like I can't? I get the power and everything with potential motivations included. But I don't as messed up as I am. I will never see the point in being flat-out evil.”
Destiny would let out a soft cynical chuckle as her feet touched the ground. Tears as dark as tar rolling down her cheeks. “I want to do good and bring good things to this fucked up world… There's already enough hurt and anger from regular people being monsters to one another so why add on to it? I just want to be a good hero and serve genuine justice and all that! But regardless of that, nobody wants to see beyond what's visible and see me…” she states bitterly.
“So why don't we make this easier for ourselves and leave? I don't think you really like me all that much,” Destiny says with a heavy sigh. The tears in her eyes fizzle as she wipes them.
“I have friends. I don't need anymore if they're gonna be fake…”
“You shouldn't go home alone, it's not safe…” Kiki states in an attempt to dissuade the girl.
“Magic makes travel easy,” Destiny shrugs. “I'm scarier than the average dangers out there anyway.”
“The girls were having a nice time with you…I was starting to like who you are. Getting to know you...was nice even if you kinda scare me...Either way, I want to be your friend Destiny. You seem like a cool person!” Kiki urges, her eyes wide, as she stares down pleadingly at Destiny.
Destiny groans, her eyes cutting to the floor, “I want friends…I also want to be treated like a person. Not worshiped or coddled or like a pet…a person, okay? I'm more than what I just look like or what I show…” She keeps her arms folded and tucked close to her body.
Kiki would quickly glance noticing what Destiny was attempting to keep hidden. It then dawned on her why the girl felt so keen on wearing longer sleeves. She felt a wave of shame. Her ambitions had caused her to be careless.
“I understand…and I'll try to work on showing that. If you'd give me another chance, that is?”
Destiny gave a small smile. “Yeah I think it would be…”
~~••~~~•••••••••~~~~~~~~~~
Later, as they began to leave, things felt as if they were getting better. Kiki began to notice how Destiny's demeanor became a lot more relaxed and not as closed off.
“Hey, have you mentioned having a crazy ex before, didn't you have a boyfriend?” Kalani asked.
Destiny gave a cynical smirk. “It's a long story…the best way to explain it is I pull very hot people, most of which suck ass and/or belong in jail.”
Kiki raised a brow to this, “Why jail…?”
“For legal reasons, I am unable to disclose that…” Destiny answered simply. "Anyway, Saffron, you said you could use your leg as a weapon earlier....”
Saffron shook her head, folding her arms, “Nope, we're not buzzing past that, what do you mean….?” She pressed sternly.
Kailanni's eyes widened, "Yeah, Destiny, hold up. You can't just say stuff like that and not at least say what he did?!?" She looked at Destiny worriedly. "Like, I'm curious and concerned at the same time, girl!"
"No, I was describing most of my exes...well the ones that were the worst, at least..." Destiny groans.
"Why are the worst ones flat-out criminals!? That's not normal. The worst ones should be jerks or annoying or maybe just embarrassing!" Kiki exclaimed.
Destiny let out a tired sigh, “I was trying to find people who could match my freak but just found plain freaky people...I guess I just have bad luck with love.”
Kiki grimaces, looking at Destiny from the corner of her eye, "You're saying that too nonchalantly...I'm background checking the people you date."
“Kiki, you're not the best judge of character either. You fall for pretty light-skinned boys and average-looking white guys.”
“Yeah, like Dorian!” Kai added.
Saffron nodded, pulling Destiny towards her side. “I will be the one vibe checking her dates so she can at least be with someone of quality.”
“Hehe…Saffron you're too kind,” Destiny chuckles in secondhand embarrassment from her own past choices.
The peaceful moment could not last forever between the girls. A cold chill runs up Destiny's spine as she registers a familiar chuckle that could belong to only one person. A visible grimace appears on her face as she turns behind her to see it belong to none other than him.
He was the devil himself, which most girls would find hard to believe. Santiago was a beautiful boy with eyes as deep as the universe itself that they could place you in a trance. But the moment words left his mouth one could easily be disillusioned…
He wore a toothy slime of a grin revealing his jagged teeth. Destiny felt like a mouse being stared down by a cat as he quickly moved in for the kill… Murder. The blood on his hands left an image she could never forget.
Destiny would instinctively place herself between her friends as he approached. Her small form was not much of a shield but she wanted to send a message to the other boy.
He bowed as he took her hand into his with a firm vice-like grasp to place a kiss on it. Destiny immediately snatched her hand back, feeling nauseated by his touch on her skin.
His lips curled into a cruel smirk, his eyes boring holes into her soul. "I've been missing the sweet sound of your voice, baby. Why haven't you returned my texts?" Santiago questioned as he leaned in towards her the mere sound of his voice made her stomach turn into multiple knots.
“Maybe because I broke up with you….” She sneers up at him.
“Maybe you should catch the hint and leave her alone,” Saffron added coldly.
Santiago's predatory gaze flicked up at Saffron, his smug grin turning into an annoyed sneer, “Excuse me, bitch, I wasn't talking to you.”
Drawing his attention back to herself, Destiny grabs him by the collar and pulls him down to her level. “Yes, you were talking to me and I've made it clear that I don't wanna associate with you anymore. I've also made it clear with your father who would be very disappointed that you're acting like a desperate lil bitch right now.” She growled.
Santiago smiles warmly. “Baby girl, I can't help that I want what I want, and that's you. You are my everything, my goddess, my queen,” he says lovingly.
“I'll do anything for you if it means keeping us together….” He says, his voice low and a cruel glint in his eye. “You know that I don't play around when it comes to you. I'll do whatever it takes. I mean it, girl. I'll even get on my hands and knees. Or I'll make sure you know we were meant to be,” he pleads desperately like a panicked beast of burden holding her hands. “We're both two messed up kindred souls, Destiny. We belong together!”
Destiny's friends gawked at the boy from behind her with expressions mixed between disgust and disbelief.
“Is this nigga for real…?” Kiki whispered
“Eww, girl, yes he did ” gagged Saffron.
Meanwhile, Destiny was trying to shake herself free of the boy. “Are you crazy!?
You act like you're doing something new,” Destiny huffed in annoyance. “Stop acting pitiful and pathetic Santiago, it stopped being cute a long time ago!” She shouted as she ripped herself away from him, eyes burning with anger threatening to de-conceal herself.
“I don't even feel bad for you anymore. You're a horrible person and deep down you know that as much as me.” she gritted through her teeth seething .
Gritting his teeth, Santiago grabbed Destiny's arm forcefully, yanking her towards him. “Don't act like you're different, Destiny…you are just as bad as me. Maybe even worse! Do you think I won't ruin your life and let the world know what I did?” He hissed in her ear, his eyes burning furiously.
“Y-you'll go to jail ” she says in a hushed whisper, fighting back whimpers as he tightens his grip on her wrist.
“Bitch…” He starts hissing at her before taking a breath to control himself. “Destiny, you are too damn smart to even think that my dad would let that happen. Now…let's think logically baby...There is nobody who will ever love you as much as I do when they see what you are. You are a monster.”
“Actually no, let me correct myself…” he chuckles darkly as he twists her wrist. “You're a bratty, spoiled, pampered lil hellspawn bitch who doesn't know when she's found a good thing. But, luckily, I'm reminding you,” he says smugly. His grin falters as he notices the dead glazed over look in his ex’s eyes. Her eyes averted from his.
“Destiny…talk to me…” he warns grabbing her by her face
Destiny froze, her body shaking. She couldn't dare look up at him. At the eyes that cut into her very being. Eyes so angry they make her cry like she was a child being yelled at again. Feeling vulnerable and isolated like she was before.
But, unlike before, things had changed drastically. As if she had risen into the air Destiny felt as if the weight of the world around her was lifted. Allowing herself to look up, she found herself being pulled away by Kiki and Kalanni.
Behind them was Saffron leaning over her ex’s unconscious body as she put her prosthetic leg back on.
As they leave, Santiago slowly pulls himself from the ground. Passersby who witnessed the scene shake their heads in disdain as they walk past him.
His eyes sting as tears bubbled to the forefront. His chest burning with rage. ‘That lil bitch! She can't just leave me like that! She can't just walk into my life and force me to do better to make HER happy just to leave me!’ He thinks angrily, groaning in pain as he wipes the blood from his lip.
“Shoulda waited when she was alone. Maybe then I could knock some sense into that fat bitch’s head…” he grumbles as he examines his appearance in a store window.
“Fucking one-legged bitch…getting in my business. Should've minded-”
"OH… you think this is none of their business? Well, if it's not theirs, it certainly is mine...Hello, Santiago." Blaine's disembodied voice echoed menacingly, his tone morphing into a hideously contorted, rage-filled snarl.
"Tsk…I see. This is where you've funneled so many of my well-funded resources. The cleanup crew for your little mess. The hackers you deemed necessary. My workers who could've been doing real work instead of enabling your childish games..." Blaine's tone drips with disapproval, each word heavy with disappointment.
Santiago could practically feel the older teen shake his head as his voice filled his mind. “You know about all that…” The boy gulps. His body quivers as he stands to his feet.
"Santiago, you really are so naive. I know everything, from the notes passed in class to the whispers in the hallway. I'm always watching, always listening. You may have believed you were getting away with something. I was just waiting to see if I could use it as something to my benefit…” Blaine let out a bone-chilling chuckle, “and I can.”
The world around Santiago shrinks to nothing as an inky black void swallows all light, leaving only the towering figure of his headmaster before him. “W-what d-do you want from me…?” The boy stammers.
Blaine bends his head down slightly, his emerald green eyes staring into his. As he spoke, his voice dropped to a chilling whisper. With a grin as jagged as a broken knife's edge that cut through Santiago as he hissed in his ear, "Oh, it's elementary,
my dear boy. You see, I intend to use your body for... murder.”
Santiago's gaze was frozen on the infernal glow of Blaine's eyes as he stammered, body trembling in fear."B-but... I don't want to hurt her... I love her..."
Blaine's laughter is low and menacing, his eyes glinting with cruel amusement. "Bullshit, you don't love her. And even if you did, why should it matter? She abandoned you, leaving you to bleed from an open wound." he sneers, pressing a clawed finger to the boy's chest, the area he touched slowly darkening as he spoke.
Santiago groans, doubling over in agony clutching his chest, his body burning with anguish as the darkness festers throughout his body.
Blaine's smile is a chilling spectacle, his eyes gleaming with malevolent intent as he knelt down to the boy's level cupping his cheek "Now look at you," he purrs, his voice dripping with a dark satisfaction. "Your heart has been stolen, leaving you alone and loveless. Friendless and without respect."
"But I can remedy that." His voice dripped with promise and menace. "Together, we can take back what's yours." His hand tightens around Santiago's chin, his thumb brushing against the boy's bottom lip. "Together, we can make her pay just let me take control.”~
Chapter Text
As time passed Destiny didn't realize that she was now in a cafe in the mall sitting in the corner surrounded by her friends. her eyes glazed over as she stared at the reflection in the steaming cup of coffee in front of her. Their voices filled the air around her, but Destiny was miles away.
Clearing her voice Saffron spoke “Well now we know why you hate that guy….”
Not looking up from her cup, those cruel remarks circled her mind as a vicious ache filled every fiber of her being.
"You're a cruel bitch, you should feel grateful I even want to be with something like you!" one voice spat.
“ Why must you always make my life so difficult?! Just shut up and do what I told you to do! It's not hard to be an easy obedient child!” another let out a guttural shriek that shook her to her core
"You'll never amount to anything you know, not when you act so emotional. But I can't really blame you for that can I ? You and your mother are one in the same." another gave a pessimistic sigh with a face all too familiar, she could still see the sneer on his face, hearing the venom in his voice.
Tears rolled down her cheeks as a cool hand gently grasped her own. “Destiny are you okay…?”
“Yeah,” Kailanni said “You haven’t said anything since we got you away from that creep.”
Destiny blinked out of her stupor before quickly slipping her hand out of the grip to wipe the tears with her sleeves.
“I’m fine, you know how ‘nice guys’ act when you reject them..” she said trying to have a dismissive tone, she used the napkins to wipe her face.
Kiki thought about how Destiny froze and shut down, there are nice guys whining about how they deserve affection and then there was dating violence, has this happened before with Destiny and him?
“If this guy has done anything to harm you-”
Destiny slammed her hands on the table as she stood up, “What do I need to make you guys believe that I'm not messed up by this?” She said in a defensive tone.
“Nothing,” Kiki said in a deadpanned tone before her face softened “Because you clearly are.”
“I’m fine… i just…just” the puff tried to say the words never fully cresting a sentence
“Froze and spaced out while someone talked shit about you and bruised your wrist.” Kiki held Destiny’s hand, her bruise circled around her wrist like an ugly bracelet.
Kiki sighs, “I’m not saying to tell me all the details of your whole life story or anything… but like it’s okay to not be okay, bottling this shit up is not healthy at all.
“She right ya know.” Saffron said “What’s even with that guy anyway?”
Destiny hesitated, she didn’t want to trauma dump on these girls especially not after what happened… she looked at the trio seeing that kiki gave her a gentle reassuring look.
With a defeated sigh she sat down, “It’s a long story.”
Kailanni waves her hand in dismiss, “Oh don’t worry we got time… well two more hours before we all need to get back home and do our homework.
Destiny downed her warm coffee to prepare herself, she shuddered as she forgot to add sugar or cream. “well…as I mentioned I really suck at dating and Santiago has been no exception….I met him online on some server, one where he does streams on his channel. I played with him a few times, we chatted up, went out and he was kinda an asshole but I gave him a chance.
“I was lacking more of a backbone at that time.” She admitted looking at the floor ashamed as she continued.
“And not to be honest he was littered with red flags. But I felt like I could handle it because he made me feel special …and beautiful , plus he bought me really expensive things like I have a commissioned dress made of literal diamonds that if sold could literally pay for your colleges and buy you all a house in a gated community….it is that expensive.
Saffron shrugged, “Okay…where did things start to go wrong?”
“Well our relationship got rocky when I found out he had a girlfriend when he started talking to me….”
The girls all grimaced in unison
“And remember when I mentioned criminal activities. Well…Santiago has a tendency to be kinda possessive and overprotective… and around that time he was still as you saw trying to get me back. So when he saw a guy talking shit about me under one of my posts…”
she winced at the image of the carnage she witnessed .”He may have put that guy six feet under. I also may have panicked and told his dad who may or may not be Thompson Lincoln or as he is known in the streets as Tombstone…” She said meekly and quickly as she stare down at the table
“He's that guy's son?!,” Kiki said, shocked. “How did you not !?”
“Girl I don't know!” Destiny exclaimed exasperated “ He has a face like it was lovingly handcrafted by Angels and a voice so deep and smooth it melts your insides! I'm weak to that shit! I wasn't thinking with my mind I was thinking with my… you know!” Destiny replied, her face flushed with embarrassment.
Saffron looks at Destiny as she takes a deep breath, pinching the bridge of her nose.
“I'm grounding you from dating till you know better, It's now mandatory that anyone you have those kinda feelings for must be checked by me.” She says dryly
“In all seriousness, do your parents know…?
Destiny gave a weak nod ,“They found out who his dad was over a family dinner, as for the murder… you guys are the first people I've told.” Destiny confessed.
“If mom found out she'd never let me out of the house again! If I tell the cops my whole family could be in danger.” She grimaced, staring down at the table. "I have a few…other worldly options but that's gonna basically be like selling my soul…”
“The only way I could get rid of Santiago is if he did something publicly that his dad can't easily cover but he isn't that dumb. His dad keeps him on a leash and he barely leaves the house.”
“Well… fuck.” Kiki groans feeling actually stumped for once.
Destiny, feeling defeated and tired, went to grab her things to leave. “I shouldn't have made this problem for people like you…”
“What the hell does that mean!?” Kiki said, face screwed into a mix of annoyance and confusion.
Destiny sighs, “For the most part besides kai you’re all human and way out of your depth when it comes to these things,” she explained.
“At least with Manny he's lived that life he's actively been there and done that and Dorian’s basically dead so you can't do much damage there. But you're more fragile and the fact you guys had to save me makes more of a point of why I need to do better. I'm not like you guys…”
So what? you’re less fragile because you have powers? Kiki snorts “ we've been trained to deal with these things. You've lived most of your life as a civilian. “
Destiny clenched her fist. “No I'm less fragile because I'm basically a spawn of a fucking deity whose the literal embodiment of evil itself. I'm less out of my depth because I've probably had more real life experience with monsters, psychos and cults than you have at this point.” she continues her speech. “So the fact I can't handle something like this makes me look pathetic as hell! Because I would know how to fix this so people around me don't get hurt! Physically I'm stronger than you three combined probably and almost everyone at school, maybe even my own mom!” she snapped at them, the. her anger is crumbling into more sorrow. “But I'm too weak as a person…too scared to mess and hurt even those who hurt me because I don't want to be a bad person. I need people to know that I'm a good person…”
“Destiny you're acting like someone who doesn't care about their own life. That's reckless, you can not do all this alone.” Kiki argues as the girl in front of her sucked in another breath. She could see her eyes were downcasted.
“My life doesn't mean as much as people like you! you'll exist for what will be a moment in time and I'll probably still be here. If I get hurt I'll…probably get back up. I'll struggle, I'll bleed but I'll do it…. But there's no guarantee you will, so why even bother with me?”
“Destiny, what are you even saying?!” Kiki exclaimed.
“I'm saying don't worry about me, okay!” Destiny exclaimed as age storms past Kiki.
Just as Destiny was about to leave, Saffron stopped her. She was about to tell her to let go when she was slapped upside the head.
“Hey what the hell!?”
“Don't say dumb emo shit like that.” she's says dryly
“Yeah, you mean alot to me!” Kailanni stepped in, her eyes watery and big as she sniffled.
“Girl you just met me! Des retorted.
“Yeah but like I know you're gonna be my bestie and I'm not gonna sit here and listen to you talk about yourself like that!” she exclaimed, throwing herself at Destiny, hugging her tightly with her stretchy arms like a compassionate python.
“Kai’s right!” Kiki said “You can't disregard your own well being like that! You matter just as much as any regular person. Your life doesn't mean less because you're some goddess or some shit? That's dumb as hell!”
“Plus we literally go to an academy for superheroes. An ex with a grudge should be a walk in the park. He doesn't even seem that tough. If he gives you any more trouble, I'll bust his teeth in with my leg.” Saffron chuckles gesturing to her prosthetic
“But I can't keep making my problems into problems for other people” Destiny argues, trying to wiggle out from Kaillanni’s hug.
Kiki snorts, “Well that's too damn bad because you're stuck with us and your problems are our business.” She persuaded, cupping Destiny's cheeks squishing them together and rubbing tears away with her thumbs.
“Yeah, we're all in this together!” Kailanni beams. She could feel her heart warm from the care and kind words from the girl as Destiny sniffled.
“You guys are nice but this shit is corny as hell…”
The intimate moment between them is abruptly shattered as chaos erupts outside the mall cafe. A deafening roar cuts through the air, followed by the terrified screams of civilians fleeing in panic throughout the mall.
Unraveling herself, Kailanni scrambles to see what was causing the commotion, as she does her eyes widened. “Hey Destiny…” She asks “Has your exe always been able to fly?”
Destiny shook her head looking at the confusion. “No, why?”
Kai glances between her friends and the direction of the chaos, a nervous chuckle escaping her lips as the distant sounds of chaos and carnage echoed. "Well, then that's definitely not your exe destroying the mall.... But! I'd say we definitely have a situation on our hands."
The girls would rush out to confirm what Kailanni said as the door swung open, the sheer magnitude of devastation greeted their eyes.
Flames raged through the stores, consuming everything in their path. Shattered glass and twisted metal littered the ground. Some civilians lay motionless or writhing in agony amidst the chaos. The sound of panicked screams and hysterical laughter carried through the smoke-filled air.
Kiki could feel her heart getting faster as her body began to tremble with fear, “No, no, no, no” She mutters to herself shaking her head. Suddenly she looks to see the ‘arsonist’. The anxious Kiki could feels her surroundings shifting.
Saffron clasping her hand, keeping her steady. “Stay with me now,” She said to her “We’ll get through this you can't get in your head right now.”
“We need to get as many survivors out of this place before we even think of fighting that guy,” Destiny said trying to take control of the situation, “Someone has probably called the authorities by now so back up should come soon.”
She opened a portal in the cafe leading to the parking lot for those inside to escape. “If that doesn't happen, we might have to fight a bad guy today.” she chuckles nervously though her outward appearance made it look like she lacked a care in the world.
“Why are you laughing? That's not funny!” Kiki whisper yelled
“It's not, but I rather think about how epic a fights gonna be, rather than the prospect that we might all die today so why not look at the positives? We're gonna be heros and we might get a chance to look like badasses too!” Destiny snorts trying to put up some bravado in the face of danger.
“You’re being way too loud.” She whispered as she looked up at Destiny. “I hope you know what you're doing shortie, it would suck if we all died today….”
Destiny slumps chuckling dryly “Yeah that would be embarrassing.” She turns to the exit taking a shaky breath. “So should we split to cover more ground or do this one store at a time?”
Kiki nods “ Yeah that covers more ground that way. Kai should go with you, she's fast and combined with your magic you'll both get people out quicker. I'll go with Saffron, I got enough gear on me to help out and Saff's a one woman army.” Kiki explains to her.
Saffron shrugs, “ I'm just built differently.”
The girls were about to ask more of the plan before another monstrous roar reverberated through the mall, as they split up the weight of the situation laid heavy on their young shoulders as they navigated through the destruction.
The sounds and sight of the civilians was a reminder that this wasn’t a simulation but an actual attack.
Destiny attempted to keep herself focused on the people that were injured but alive, assuring as many people who were willing to let her aid them. Her mind focused on the task while her body trembled like a leaf, before she felt a gentle hand clasp her shoulder.
“Hey, are you okay?” Kai asks.
“Yeah,” She said, swallowing the growing lump in her throat. “It's… It’s just my first time seeing whole corpses, I'm more used to seeing the bits and pieces.
Kailanni forced a slight chuckle out, “Hehe good one Destiny.” She said before seeing her unchanged expression.
“W-Wait you’re serious? When did that hap– ?”
“My powers got activated during a cult ritual and let's just say that after I drank what was in that cup it was all that could be found surrounding my body when I woke up.” Destiny explained, avoiding eye contact as she continued in a low whisper.
“Ever since then red has become my least favorite color….”
Kai looked at Destiny’s hair, “But aren’t you a literal redhead?” She said before closing her lips tightly realizing her mistake.
Destiny chuckled dryly, “Yeah, ironic i know,” She said scoping a few more survivors helping them through a portal. “As long as the bastard who made me this way is around i can’t dye it… I already tried to change it back.”
“I guess it’s a reminder for me that I'm never fully in charge of my body.” her voice was barely above a whisper. “I hate it.”
Then Destiny walks up to enter the portal.
“Just like how I hate hiding how I really look…” she sighs in the portal.
Kailanni stole a glance at Destiny and felt a mixture of sympathy and confusion, she looked okay to her.
“What do you mean?”
Destiny chuckles cynically as she drops her glamor magic that masked her true form, her brown skin darken til it was an inky black abyss with two pink orbs shining through the darkness. Her ears large and bat-like while sharp pointed fangs peeked out from her upper lips, her arms were much longer with massive paw-like hands adorned with sharp claws that could engulf Kai's face. Large sharp leathery wings were spread across her back cascading a shadow in the form of their silhouette, a cat tail with a small ball of flame swishing behind her.
“That’s your true form?!” Kai gasped
“You think everyone with an ounce of demon blood always comes out looking like an elf or a vampire with cool contacts?” Destiny asked rhetorically looking at Kai. "I normally have horns but they look kinda big and gross and you've already seen enough...."
“You…You look…So Cool!” Kai said “and kinda cute like a cat bat hybrid.” She looked at Destiny with awe and wonder. “I mean I'm ain't gonna lie I thought you would have looked more ice like heh.”
They hear some groans coming from some of rubbles as they go to the source of the sound, Kailanni expands her hands to move some of it away to reveal some injured shoppers. “Are you alright? Can you move?”
One of them got up shakingly before stumbling as Kai caught them, she could see a crimson color splotch on their pant leg slowly growing “It’s gonna be okay, we’re gonna get you out of here okay?”
They nodded before seeing Destiny in her demon form, they huddled together in fear frozen. “W-what is that thing!?”
Destiny kept her distance backing up behind Kailanni.
“Hey hey,” Kai responded, “It’s okay, she’s one of the good guys like me.” Giving Destiny a thumbs while some of the shoppers grab on her hands for stability.
Destiny would quickly turn around forming a portal to the outside. “They're good to go Kai, there's medics outside too.”she says, turning to her friend.
Kailanni smiles, turning back towards the civilians “See she even made a way out of here.”
The girls help the group out of the destroyed store through the portal, slowly and safely.
Destiny smiles sadly shifting back into her more human passing form as the portal closes. “Yeah, I should have known it would go something like that….”
Kai moves the rubbles and debris wishing she could hug Destiny, “I mean they were shaken up from the sudden mall attack, you shouldn’t beat yourself up about the reactions.” She said “I’m sure they’re thankful of you for helping them.
As the two went back to searching for citizens to save through the rubble she froze her senses taking over. As she zeroed in a noise yards away. The soft whimper of a child beneath the rubble.
Her eyes darted above the rubble noticing a steel frame bending under the instability.
"It's a kid..." Destiny said under her breath
"That's not good, I'll try to hold the frame. Hopefully I still have enough energy to grow!" Kailanni said she tries to embiggen herself, she winces feeling a pain in her hands.
"There's not enough time!" Destiny exclaimed, darting towards the sound. "Destiny, wait don't!" She reached for her but it was too late!
Destiny, deaf to Kai's desperate shouts, dashed towards the crumbling rubble; it was all as if her body began moving before she could form any thoughts. As the ceiling began to collapse her wings sprouted shielding her and anyone below her.
Kai covered her face from the dust before seeing the bigger rubble pile. "DESTINY!" Kailanni rushes towards it to dig out her friends.
As Kai called out, the rubble began to shift. She watched as debris cascaded off Destiny's outstretched wings, revealing her shaky for holding a small, trembling child clutched tightly against her chest. She held her hand close to her mouth, "oh my god...destiny?"
Destiny emerged from the rubble, her body streaked with soot and blood from various cuts. Yet, her eyes remained locked on the small, frightened child nestled securely in her arms, all other discomfort momentarily forgotten.
"Look at this kid… she's so tiny she could have been crushed..."
"She was too scared to even scream and let herself be heard..." Destiny almost teared up at the thought personally relating a bit.
"Destiny, are... are you okay?" Kailanni said slowly walking toward her and the child. "Do you need help?"
"Im fine really," Destiny persisted as he opened a portal. As she did so they could hear the blaring sirens of police and the chopping sounds of helicopters ahead as she passed off the child "Back-up is coming quickly and I can't hear anymore..." she states her pointed ears twitching.
Her lips pursed, "You're bleeding from your cuts and maybe you should go with the paramedics."
"Scratches come with the job Kailanni. If I'm still standing I'm fine. Besides, if I can bounce back from being stabbed then some scrapes aren't gonna do much now will it?"
As she said that the sound of maniacal laughter echoed through the air.
"Now that's the spirit!"
Kailanni put her guard up, ready to fight. "Who said that?"
"That voice....it sounds.. Kai, you said it wasn't him."
"I did but I couldn't see them clearly enough." Kai said, looking around keeping herself moving about. The layered chuckle would cut through the silence followed with a guttural hiss as debris and rubble shifted around them.
“Well well well… What do we have here? A half baked demon and a rubber band runt.” sneered an all too familiar voice.
Destiny's eyes widened narrowing as she heard her exe speak. “You… you aren’t Santiago, are you?” She questions straightening her stance. “Who are you and what do you want?”
The villain chuckles as their shadow snake form slithered from beneath the rumble materializing into Santiago although it was clear from his appearance it was nothing more than a puppeteered skin suit.
“It's actually good to know you aren't as dumb as I originally thought you to be. It would be rather surprising if our father favored a complete imbecile.”
Destiny glares down at him stepping between herself and Kai. ‘Well damn, who knew the ugly bastard liked to fuck? And now because of that, I gotta deal with family drama. What's worse is that he has a grudge against me and I don't even know him!’, Destiny thinks.
“Whatever your beef is, can we settle it somewhere else alone? If Aku has hurt you in any way I’m sure we can talk this out-” Before Destiny could finish, the villain struck. In a millisecond he was past her and before she had even registered his movement, he was on top of Kailanni claws pinning her to the ground as his fangs stabbed her shoulder.
Her heart sank, it all went by so fast before she could even choke out sobs or a scream. Her friend's eyes had already begun to become dull and glazed over, her veins becoming bulging and green as it pulsed with venom.
As he rose to feet, releasing the body from his grip. he cocked his head at her with a sinister grin.
Destiny stood there stunned and paled “W-Why…?”
Blaine's face twisted into a sickening smirk as he glanced up at Destiny. "Why bother with her?" He scoffed, giving Kailani's motionless form a careless nudge with his boot. "This is our fight, isn't it? And besides, mortal hearts are so fragile...their hearts tend to burst when they succumb to my venom."
Blaine's mind wandered back to his previous encounters with Destiny's friends, a faint smile playing on his lips. "It's almost a shame their bodies will be found after I finish with you," he mused aloud, his gaze drifting back to the unconscious Kailani. "They weren't particularly impressive to me."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

He chuckles to himself giddily “It was rather fun actually needing to put in some effort.”

“Who even are you!?” She demanded, "Why are you doing this!?”

Blaine's grin would stay frozen as his gaze bored into hers, it began to slowly grow pulling at Santiago's skin tightly bearing the many rows of jagged teeth within his maw. As he slowly lurked towards her Destiny backed away keeping her distance as he began to close in on her.

Blaine let out a twisted laugh as he lurched towards her. “Like all our father's spawn I embody a less… desirable aspect of existence, dear sister.”
Destiny gulped shuffling backwards hovering over anything that wasn't a smooth surface so she wouldn't trip as she kept her eyes on him.

“I am the aching and twisting you feel inside your soul everyday….” he says as kept his eyes locked onto hers. “I am the reason you know deep down you will amount to nothing and why nobody will even care once you are gone.” Blaine leaned in readying to lunge himself for the kill.

Destiny took a breath as she kept her arms behind her back

“I am the inevitable-” He was cut off as destiny shifted her arm into a demonic shotgun firing into his chest sending him flying back into a wall. Stumbling back from the recoil she opens a portal behind her falling through it to put some distance between the two, as she fell she landed in a store on a lower level of the mall. It was mostly fine with flickering lights.

“I'm going to maim you for that you wretch!”

The store went pitch black as a roar echoed through the mall.

Destiny let out a shaky breath fighting back tears aggressively wiping her face to keep her vision clear as she hunkered down “Oh my god…”

“This can't be happening… Fuck! I'm not ready for shit like this. Mom hasn't even given me advice for these kinda things…” she groans, taking in a deep breath stealing herself .

“Okay Destiny got this, you've barely been trained for villains but you were taught how to fight… he is clearly playing with you so he's confident in himself. Which is great for him.” She analyzed the situation to herself.

“He's pretty scary and really fast…. he leaves himself open a lot, typical of ghosts and hybrids because they can go intangible…”

As she thought out loud she heard soft whimpering in the back of the store, she turned her head to see her two friends' unconscious bodies as she did so she kneels down to look them over.

Meanwhile with Blaine,

The young villain angrily searched for Destiny, flying throughout the mall with reckless abandon. While in his mind he pictured himself as a raging beast, in actuality he appeared more like a child throwing a hissy fit.

“That little bitch got away!?” Blaine growls, foaming at the mouth as he kicks down a column.

“What do you expect?” Santiago’s voice snorted cynically from the back of his mind. “You started monologuing like a dumb ass and let her have time to react.”

“H-how dare you do you-”

“You're using my body as a plan to kill her. I'm a dead man either way so I don't really need permission to speak my mind especially when it comes to someone I know way better than you.” Santiago retorts.

“...Continue.” Blaine held back his tongue.

“She's very emotional and that can easily cloud her judgment,” He said. “If you don't give her the chance to actually think every move she’ll make will just be reactional but…

“But what? You dumb ingrate.” Blaine snarls in frustration as hovered around.

“...”

“What is it?!?”

“If you're gonna keep talking to me like that, I ain't gonna tell you shit man.” He said crossing his non-existent arms “You can be a mean lil gay man all you want I'm a sassy nigga too I can do this shit all day but you dont have that time so….”

As Santiago said that Blaine stopped noticing a faint glow in the back of a store.

“I hate you, but please… continue.” He said through gritted teeth.

“She wasn't just sitting around all those years in her home hiding, her mom hired an ex plumber turned bounty hunter to be her bodyguard and glorified nanny. He continues.

“I met him once, shit I think I've seen him in a list of contacts my pops got. The guy is dangerous and he trained the bitch.”

“Turned her into my perfect woman, beautiful, adorable and batshit crazy,” Santiago sighs contently. “She's broken my wrist, fingers, and my ribs a few times while fighting… I still got bite marks on my arms.”

Blaine pauses looking disturbed at that mention. “Is she a fucking animal?!”

“No, she's worse...she's my dream girl~” Santiago snarlily chuckled

Blaine gags, landing as he senses movement in a nearby store. “Gross… anyway what does all this even mean?

“Oh yeah, it means that she has a bunch of intrusive thoughts so try to kill her quickly. Santi said “She's not an assassin or anything but she just probably fights way better than your pampered ass.”

“Excuse me?!” Blaine snarls at the other boy’s insult

“Which is why you let me handle the rest,” Santiago chuckles as cracks his knuckles. “Let me take the wheel while you give me a boost and we’ll both get what we want.”

“Once this is over I’ll ask Tabitha to get her soul and have a new body made for her, then she can be all mine.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~•
Back with Destiny, she worked frantically on both her friends, having gone back to grab Kalanni's body; she was finishing a ritual of sorts, when she heard it.
Santiago chuckles, his eyes burning angrily with a mix of purple and green as he stalks towards her, knocking over everything with reckless abandon.
“Thought you could hide from me hellcat?” He screamed.
Destiny shook in anger as she rose to her feet, summoning a flaming pistol.
“Eat my ass, you emo bastard!” She screams as she starts to shoot. He chuckles lunging forward, dodging as many bullets his ex could unload, a few clipping him in the process. The cuts turned quickly into furious gashes burning his skin. Santiago and Blain screamed in pain grabbing at one of the gashes.
“Raa-uuah!? Fuck! What the hell?!?” they hissed, looking up as Destiny sprung forward launching herself kicking them in the throat sending them flying back a few feet.
Back in his office Blaine was coughing and clawing at his own skin, not sure what was happening.
“What did she do to us!?”
“Hell if I know, she's magic!” Santiago croaked, clutching his own throat, struggling to get up as Destiny could be heard slowly approaching.
“It’s Blood Blossom, it kills ghosts. I saw that you use possession so I took a lucky guess and messed around mixing spells” She said, reloading her gun. “I made this on the fly.”
“I call it Blood Blossom inferno, a little edgy, but to sum it up the more rounds I shoot into you, the more it’ll burn you alive host and all,” Destiny continued, coldly stares them down as she cocked her gun to the side. “I'd say that's a proper price to pay.”
BAM! BAM!
Santiago dodged the shots by a inch shakily looking up at her.
“You hurted the first people who seemed to actually give a fuck about me!” She hissed, venom dripping from her tone. “Who weren't connected to anyone else I know, just me!
“You think that was gonna last long baby?” he taunts, spitting the blood that pooled in his mouth as he got to his feet. “You're a monster just like me, you have a pretty face,....well scratch that it's just cute. But you ain't shit inside at your core.” he sneered.
“You take that back!” Destiny fuming, tossing her gun to the side. “I'm nothing like you!” She roared as she tackled Santiago, sending them both barreling through the floor.
Santiago chuckles knowing he was getting exactly what he wanted from her, while Blaine watches on in horror as he tries to restrain Destiny as she tries to get a hold of him.
She attempted to lunge against his restraints, gnashing her teeth, her jaws widened, exposing enormous fangs that seemed impossibly large for her mouth. Her long dark claws raked against Santiago's unyielding form, barely leaving a scratch.
He chuckled darkly, his smirk growing wider as he clocked her across the jaw with a strength that sent her flying through the concrete wall, the debris raining down as she crashed into the basement of the mall. His voice echoed ominously as he called after her.
Santiago clicked his tongue disapprovingly, his finger wagging slowly as he descended into the basement after her. "Destiny, Destiny, Destiny..." He chuckled menacingly, his eyes glinting in the dim light. "You're pathetic, you know that? You push away people who can find it in their hearts to love someone as pitiful and disgusting as you." "Then when you start feelin yourself thinking your hot shit or something. You wanna act like you're puffed up and proud. Just for someone like me to put you back in your place how dose it feel you be you huh? You got an ego so easily deflated that all I need to do is remind you why I'm the only one who could ever love you.” he taunts as he sauntered towards her.
Destiny laughed, wiping the blood from her nose as she sat up. “You… you really are full of shit. You must think yer philosophical or something huh? We aren't two sides of the same coin.”
Santiago sneered, “Yes we are!” he yelled, gnashing his teeth as he lunged At her.
Destiny scrambling to her feet quickly dodged away from using her bat-like wings to kick up dust and debris using it as cover.
Santiago irritably snarled, rubbing his eyes, coughing as some got into his mouth, his patients wearing even thinner at the sound of Destiny's mocking laughter.
“Yeah… no sweetie my dad didn’t leave me, my mom kicked him out and they divorced, but your mom tossed you to your dad and dipped the moment she popped your ugly head out her crotch!"
BAM! BAM!
More shots were fired at him, the spell burning into his skin but he kept his resolve. Enduring the damage as if his body felt nothing at all.
Santiago hissed his eyes, glowing a tinge of green as he searched for her, seething in anger as he trudged about searching for her. Tears brimming at the corners of his eyes as she taunted him with insecurities he had told her in confidence.
“SHUT….UP!”
Destiny chuckled as she bumrushed him from the side unleashing a barrage of punches onto his face. “Nah I don't think I will since you wanna make comparisons!”
“She's getting a leg up on you!”, Blaine hissed.
“I'm working on it!” Santiago roared grabbing Destiny by her hair pulling her to the ground kneeing her in the face
Grinning Destiny twisted her head to the side, biting down on his leg mid-motion, tossing him to the side. "RA-aUH!? God damn what's with you and the biting!?"Santiago howled.
Destiny ignored him as she continued rolling her eyes leasiur blocking his attacks. As I was saying, as for my mother who we both know really shouldn't have had kids…Like at all. Absolutely dotes on me though I guess the real term would be called love bombing ??? While your dad only cares enough to monitor you and bail you out when you fuck up with the minimum effort of getting you a fucking therapist!“
Santiago roars charging back at her but Destiny just giggled using her large wings as shields blocking his punches, “You’re fucking cheating!”
Rolling her eyes she continued opening her wings spreading wide opening herself for attack, flashing Santiago a cocky grin challenging him further. “Oh yeah, kinda like you did to your ex?”.
She giggles “Well anyway I know your dad has trouble dealing with you since you're a mentally unstable.”
Too blinded by his own ambitions to hear, Santiago became a brilliant display of carnal rage, his veins bulging like they were about to pop. He charged at Destiny with his all, he raised his fist, the air around it crackling with angry energy.
Destiny laughs with glee with air of smugness as she anticipates the impending blow, licking her fangs in anticipation. His fist sailed past her nose, close enough to feel the heat as she avoided the brunt of his blow. “ Egotistical....”~
With swift fluidity her hand moved with lightning speed, fingers forming into a perfect, unyielding vice as she caught Santiago's face to throw him concrete.
“Piece of shit!”
She chuckles as she stood over her laughter filled with satisfaction as she did so.
“Who has by far the most horrendous combination of mommy and daddy issues did I mention?? Hmmm not sure if I did but I thought that was something you'd like to know about youself.”
She grunts as she goes in to kick him in the side. “You're so bad you turned a bisexual chick into nothing but a lesbian because that's how traumatically loving you can be. My exes want me back to the point they become hysterical , yours want a restraining order!” she smirks “We are not the same.”
He snatched Destiny's leg, yanking her down to the ground. He pounced on top of her, his body pinning hers beneath his weight. she would struggle against him writhing under him kicking at him.
With a guttural roar he drew back free hand with his and Blaine’s combined strength and drove it down towards her chest like a sledgehammer with bone-shattering force. “I said shut up! You stupid bitch you always have something to say!”
The sound of snapping ribs echoed through the air as she was driven into the ground, her body convulsing from the devastating blow. Destiny would let out a gurgling grasp as her lungs filled with blood.
“It doesn't matter now…”
“Oh fuck you…” Destiny spat.
“Oh you will when I'm done….” a grim smile spread across Santiago's face as a dark chuckle left his lips. He would lean in, pressing his claws finger down harder with a look of satisfaction as fear filled her eyes as he began to cut open her shirt.
“First I'm gonna kill you then I'm gonna put your soul into a new body. One perfectly molded to my liking and trained in my image. It won’t even matter if you don't like me… You're gonna love me whether you like me or not.”
He chuckles with sadistic glee as he plunged his hand through her chest.
“This body you have here will rot and the world will forget about you. It's not like you really mattered to anyone, but me anyways.” he grinned stroking her cheek as she began to spit up her own blood.
“As for those girls, they'll die, I'll make sure of that. Because when I'm done ain't nobody gonna recognize their bodies anyways…”
“Santi…please d-don’t do this…” she begged, choking back a sob of tears welling in her eyes.
“Aww, Destiny you really did steal my heart and now it's my turn to return the favor,”
As he whispered those chilling words, his hand was already gripping her heart through her dress. With one brutal tug he ripped it out from her chest, the blood seeping from between his fingers as it beat its last beats.
“This is the closest I've ever been to you… Irony huh?” He grins as he holds it up to her face.
Her eyes widened at the horrific sight gurgling on her own blood as her body convulsed and seized. She weakly clawed at him. "No... Santiago..." she rasped before falling limp.
Meanwhile in the underworld, Aku and Regan watch the aftermath of the fight within his flames.
“This should be good.” Aku chuckles as he eats his popcorn.
Regan was confused by their father’s glee.
“You seem oddly happy,” They said “Even though Blaine just turned your favorite into a holey doughnut?”
Aku strokes his flame beard pondering. “Hmmm probably… But not likely if he keeps monologuing like he does.”
“Explain.” they pressed.
“When I made that pact with her mother, I wasn't too focused on my wording as I was on the prize that came with it. I said something along the lines of promising that her child will live as long as her soul willed it, basically making her child immortal but…” Aku chuckles leaning in as if he wanted to tell Regan a secret. “Her soul doesn't seem to be all that broken.”
He held up his hand revealing a small flame. His toothy maw twisting into a grin “ she's a little sad to look at but determined... Pitiful little thing, but she's too spiteful to die.” he chuckles settling into a seat
They blinked, looked at Destiny’s corpse and then Aku, “She’s just laying there.”
“Regan, my impudent child,” He said. “If you live as long as Aku, you'll learn that teenage girls, no matter the time period, are over dramatic like this. She's just sulking for a minute or two, once that’s done her pride will pull herself back together, raising her up like a phoenix.” he shoves more popcorn in his mouth, “And then she’ll focus her rage on your brother!” He said with his mouthful. “And if not… well I'll collect what mine I could use to her one way or another. What's 16 more years to wait to have a decent child?” He chuckles tilting his head as he stared through the flames
“Hmm… I think I would actually miss this one.”
He turned to Regan.”
“Do me a favor…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Destiny would find herself awaking in a familiar place. It was cold, filled with infinite darkness, there was an absence of everything. No light, no sound, no physical sensation. Just... nothing. Then, a faint spark of consciousness besides her own.

The surface under her was an enigma; it was nothing but everything at once. It was like she was floating, falling and drowning all at once. Giving her the constant aching sensation of instability.

Destiny's fingers traced over the gaping void in her chest where her heart used to be. She was dead… she failed, she couldn't feel her connection to her body. She no longer felt tethered to anything; she was really dead.

All that talk of being able to take any blow for those she cared about just to die on the spot from a single blow. Tears swell in the corners of her eyes as she feels the ghostly presence of Santiago's hands on her body filling her throat with bile.

Her breath hitched as she began clawing at numb cold flesh, begging for a sense of sensation of pain… but there was none. "No. No. No! No! No! I can't! It’s not fair! I can't die this way! This isn't fair!"

She wailed till her voice was ragged, throwing her head back slamming on the ground as she sobbed pitifully.

She was an utter failure, to her friends, to her mother, to her sister, her brother, her cousins, aunts, uncles… Even her father. She wondered what he'd even think of her. Would her death even matter to him? He told her himself he barely cared the first time her heart stopped and this was what the third time? He'd probably just be indifferent just like he always has been to her existence.

The realization of that almost made her feel something but the feeling was consumed by the hollow ache inside her. Her life was pathetic and short, filled with the yearning to be loved by everyone just to end up with her heart ripped out true poetic irony.

As she sulked she barely noticed the figure that began to loom over her. It went on until her eyes were bombarded with a barrage of psychedelic colors.

The figure steps forth from the colors with a wide toothy grin. Their eyes light up, there is no ounce of reason or sanity in them.

"Isn't that a lot better than all of that dreaded doom and gloom black?" They let out a high pitch giggle and walk through the air towards her.

Destiny would blink the spots from her eyes before darting up to look at this person. She scrambled to get away from them. "W-Who the fuck are you!? I thought I was dead!? Aren't I dead??? Isn't this hell!?"

She squinted and studied the technicolor being in front of her.

"Wait, if this is hell, why are you so colorful?” She scratches her head in confusion “You look like a gay clown and a demon fucked?” Destiny then cocked her head studying them, "A very slutty clown.... Drag Queen Jester?? "

“Do I look like I have lobster claws for hands? That position has already been taken.” Regan's teeth sharpen as their grin grows.

"But don’t worry, sweetie, I'll take you to hell one day.” They said pinching Destiny’s cheeks.

“We'll have loads of fun. And, no, the fact that I'm here means you're definitely not dead. “Their eyes scan the bright colors that surround them.

"We're actually in your head."

There was a long pause as Destiny stood up and looked around the brilliant landscape. "Is it sad that it makes sense?” She shook her head before confronting Regan.

Wait, who are you and why are you here?? Are you like a fucked up fairygodmother??"

They giggle and step closer to Des. "Nope, you wouldn't find something like me in a fairytale. I'm here because I'm the only one who can be here." Regan places their hands on their thin hips.

"You need to snap the hell out of whatever funk you're in and get back out there."

"H-how!? I got my fucking heart ripped out and he's… He’s probably already killed my friends by now. I failed everyone..."

"I don't care enough to understand the mechanics of it, but you're still alive.” They said “It's pretty badass of you. You were able to survive likes that. I've pulled the same move on so many creatures and they die like pitiful flies." They sighed disappointedly..

"As much of a compliment that is… I don't see the point.” Destiny explains

“So what? If I come back and fight, It's gonna be the same dumb cycle. I get up, I fight, I'm still a monster and a freak, his dad bailed him out, he'll come after me again..."

Regan's smile drops as their eye twitch in annoyance, getting right up in Des' face. Their eyes are glowing intensely.

“So you're just going to give up like that ?” They growled. “Neither of those two are worthy opponents and yet you're going to stay here and wallow in self-pity? You have the ability to put the two of them in their place and keep them there!"

"I KNOW THAT DAMN IT!" She screamed back in frustration.

Destiny groans, pulling on her hair as she paces about, trying to get this chaotic clown to understand her problem.

"It changes nothing! It never ends, it doesn't matter if I defend myself! It doesn't matter if I save the day! I'm a monster in everyone's eyes! I'll never be seen with any humanity, not to the city, the school, not even to...."

Destiny sucked in a breath as she choked back the tears buried in her eyes. The cold smoldering pain resting in her heart.

"I'm so fucking tired… Every day, I'm fighting something and it never ends. Why are you forcing me to keep fighting even when I don't want to...?"

"Because I'm your older sister.” A smirk grows across their face as they stare into Destiny's eyes.

“And what kind of older sibling would I be if I wanted your fight to end here when I can tell there's so much to you? They placed their hands on Destiny’s shoulder as if to support themselves.
“You have to fight, you have the potential. Who gives a damn if those lowly bastards think you're some monster? They're not as important as you."

Destiny looked downward in a shameful gaze, opening her mouth, her lips trembling with fear of the honest truth escaping from them " I-I've ne-never felt important… to anyone or myself not when it mattered."

Regan's long fingers grab Destiny's chin and lift up her head. Her glowing green eyes stare into Destiny's pink ones. "You are important, my baby sister. I will help you realize how important and powerful you are. I'll come find you in the real world and be there for you.” Although there was madness in those green eyes, there was somehow a silver of kindness in there too.

“But first, all you have to do is one little thing."

Destiny sniffled rubbing her eyes "What's that?"

"Get back up and put those foolish boys in their place. I know you can do it."

"But I don't know how to get back up. Like I genuinely don't there's usually a light but now this whole place is full of lights. The little demon asked her eyes scanning the mindscape.

“Where is the door?!"

"Whoopsie Daisy," Regan giggles and steps back from Destiny, "I forgot all about my little remodeling." She snaps her fingers and the bright psychedelic lights disappear, leaving the space empty and void like before she appeared.

Destiny took a deep breath as she turned her head toward the glowing door at the end. "Welp, guess I'll be seeing you soon?" She chuckles anxiously, looking up at Regan.

“Real soon and don’t forget to make them eat dirt!” Regan grinned back.

Destiny chuckles finding a lil pep in her step " Y-yeah I will I promise!" She smiles running off to leave as she did so she finds herself following downward into the light. “ OH FUCK I FORGOT THE DROOoooooP!" She screamed as she plummeted back to consciousness.

Regan giggles and looks around, "I'll take a good look around here next time." With her giggle echoing into the void, she disappears from Destiny's mind.

Reappearing beside Aku, Regan looks into the orb. "Let's see if part two is going to be more entertaining."

"I hope those boys are becoming full of themselves..." Aku yawns, turning up the volume on orb. Before rising to his feet to stretch,"Aku is going to get more snacks from the vending machine, tell me when the action starts."

Meanwhile

Santiago stretched, groaning in satisfaction as the many tiny pops and cracks that resounded along his body. Raising his hand he blasted fire upon another store, the clothes on the mannequins burning as they charred to a crisp.

Blaine glanced a mental side eye to Santiago, feeling a slight degree of irritation. “You seem to be in a good mood for a deadman.”

“I ain’t no deadman.” Santiago scoffed, flying around the ruined mall to see if there was anymore to destroy.

“You just killed your ex and you set the mall on fire. Speaking of which, how did you do that?” Blaine acquired

“I thought you gave me the power to do that,like how you gave me the ability to fly.”

“I gave you the reins,” Blaine clarified. “I gave you more strength, but if I'm not moving you, I can't give you more than that.”

Santiago pauses in his tracks. “Wait what do you mean by-”

“Don't think too hard, you'll hurt yourself, let’s just kill the girls and leave!” The halfa cambion groaned, feeling a migraine growing. “You're showing off too much, it's a miracle nobody has stepped in by now.

“They got bigger fish to fry,” Santi chuckles while scrolling through his phone and sees a video of a kaiju surfaced. The superheroes killed it, but now they gotta deal with the parasites. A 30 second clip revealed the defeated kaiju’s body was crawling with grotesque isopod-like creatures leaving its mouth, the professional heroes were trying to destroy them and at the very least keep them in one place.

“Some freaky shit… But you're right this shits getting boring anyway.”

He hovers towards the piled bodies, contemplating on what to do with them. He could set them ablaze til their flesh and fat bubbled and their bones charred from the inside. Maybe throwing them one by one up in the air as they splat on the ground, his thoughts were interrupted when a groan from the pile.

“Hmmm, there seems to be some still clinging to life.” Santiago said when he saw who was crawling out. She coughed struggling to move faster, her prosthetic leg missing.

A sadistic grin grew on his face as he recognized her from Destiny lil friend group, “Well Well, not so tough without that fake ass leg of yours huh?” He mocks as he lands close to her body.

He lifted his leg high for the momentum to crush her skull with enough force to splatter her brains.

“I’m gonna enjoy every last second of this.”

Before he could perform a curb stomp on her, he felt the cold burning of steel around his neck as he was pulled with force of a freight train, he struggles to pull the chains off but they stayed tight around his throat, he was dragged on the ground as he felt some of his skin peeling off before he was stopped by a foot on his tractea.

Looming over him was an abysmally dark figure, her sharp heel pressed to his jugular, restraining his breaths painfully. With a single flap from the expanse of bat-like wings they snuffed his flames, the powerful gusts of wind blowing back his hair allowing him to get a better look at his attacker.

Through blurry dust filled eyes staring down at him were two fiery orbs. With a swift yank the chains tighten around his neck. Leaning in he felt her warm breath on his cold flesh. A twisted satisfied chuckle escaped her lips as her claws dragged along his neck.

“I see the tables have turned now….”

With a shaky breath both Blaine and Santiago shook their heads. “no…No!”

Destiny chuckles in dark amusement, her voice layered and twisted “Yes it's me sweet… brother.” she says bitterly “It takes a lot more than that to kill me. All though you did leave me rather… heartless.”

She snickers as she presses the skull on her chest opening her dress revealing her gaping chest now a ravenous maw filled with jagged gnashing teeth. “ I have a void that needs filling and you're both the perfect size~” she purred viciously as she released him from her grasp.

“Oh my god you're right this bitch is insane!” Blaine yelped “Was that supposed to be an innuendo!?”

“I don't know…” Santiago chuckles nervously as a mix of fear and joy tears “Is it crazy this turns me on!?”

“Yes! You imbecile run!” The halfa orders

“NO!” Destiny barked, snapping her fingers as she opened a portal from under their feet. “You're going to fight me and I'm gonna rip into your sorry carcass for the world to see.”

In a blink she was faced to face with them again, seizing them by the throat and hurling them through another portal. Their body becomes a projectile, slamming into the concrete below.

Groaning through gritted teeth, Santiago pushed himself up, his body wracked with pain. "She really rocked our shit huh Blaine…Blaine ??” for the first time in the last half hour his mind was quite eerily so. His questions were soon answered as the dust settled. Not far from him, Blaine lay unmoving, the halfa demon hybrid's grip on Santiago's body shattered by the force of their impact, his spectral form flickering unsteadily.

“Okay that's not good…”

"No it's not but it will be fun for me if big bro over there gets up. Maybe if he's not too much of a bitch you two can tag team?" Destiny chuckles as she hovers down. Her eyes bore into him with predatory anticipation.

Santiago kept his guard up, his hands ablaze as glaring up at her with determination. He snorts, kicking the dirt around him. "So you got a new look? So what? you're still that messed up girl deep inside! Just cuz ya got a power boost doesn't mean you aren't still an emotional lil bitch with daddy issues!"

With gritted teeth he charges at her, his fist raised for a left hook. "SO STOP ACTING LIKE HOT SHIT WHEN YOU'RE JUST A LIL BRAT!"

Destiny grinned "You’re so predictable it's one of the few things I did enjoy about you Santi.~" she crooned teasingly as she leaned into his momentum, biting down on his whole fist. As she bum rushed him, knocking him to the ground.

His head landed with thud causing some spots to appear in his visions, "Gah!? I don't know what worsts your bipolar ass mood or your smug ass attitude?!"

He gets up, clenching his fist and throwing some fireballs her way."I might actually miss having you as a sad sack emo bitch!"

Destiny giggles before snapping her head back pulling his arm out of its socket. "I think you're just mad about the fact you can't even say I let you smash because you're the one who ended up with his ass in the air lil bottom bitch!" Destiny cackles as she clocked him in his jaw.

"Honestly, is that why you're mad, Santi, is it because you're insecure? You need to feel like ya run shit?"
Santiago's eyes blazed like raging infernos, tears of anger streaming down his face as he thrashed beneath Destiny's unyielding form. “You just don't get it do you… you, me, we ain't like other people we're better! People should be worshipping you WORSHIPPING US!" He tears head butting her, knocking her back.

He was too blinded by his rage and frustration to notice his body getting hotter. Raising his freed hand up it glows angrily with dark purple almost blackish flames.

Destiny's eyes widened seeing this, watching as the embers from his flames ate at the ground like acid destroying everything in its wake.

"But you want to be treated like everyone else!” He sneered as he barreled towards her like a feral beast looking for blood.

Accepting the challenge Destiny took him head on meeting his charge. Using her height and speed to her advantage. She met him with low blows to his side dodging his swings. So she could blast him with corrosive magic

“You're not wrong Santi, maybe I do want to be treated with equality… and humanity.” She trails thinking deeply about the path she was on but her sentiments only served to anger Santiago further.

“RAAuUGH!!? He roared, clutching his side in pain before slamming himself into the side of the crater to snap his arm back into its socket. He hissed, turning his attention back to Destiny grabbing her by the hair pulling her to look him in the eye “That's what i'm saying, it's dumb!?”

“NO ITS NOT!” she shouts back head butting him in the nose, her skull meeting his face with an echoing crack.
Like she had expected, people had gathered from a safe enough distance to spectate. Phones were out, others were even perched on top of cars for a better angle. Seeing this Destiny took this as her moment kicking Santiago back she stood her ground staring him down.

“I have ever fucking right to be treated with humanity and respect. Just because you view everyone unlike you, it doesn't mean anything!”

Santiago snarled glaring back at her his mouth dripping with venom, “You don't get it do you?… you’re a fucking goddess! But you wanna be like every weak, pathetic fuckin waste of space lil piece of shit here!” He exclaimed, gesturing to the people around them.

“You wanna be like the lil people with their whining and crying about how nobody likes them and how they can't get what they want. When your fucking above that! Why can't you see what you're meant to be!?” He yells shooting her in the face with a blast of fire flames engulfing her whole.

As the flames settled Destiny sat there unscathed, only the ground around her showing evidence of his true power. Dusting herself off she stood to her feet. “You're right, I am above a lot of people.” She smiles softly at him.

“Good, you've finally come to your sense-!” he was cut off by Destiny clocking him in his jaw. Knocking him to the ground.

Standing over him triumphantly she spoke as she summoned hellish chains to bind him “I'm above lowly pieces of shit like who have the nerve to even think their on the same fucking level as me!” She exclaims pressing his face to the ground with her foot.

“I'd let you kiss my boot but I wouldn’t want your germs to touch me any further.” she sneered before turning to look for Blaine finding that he took his chance to escape.

It didn't bother her that he had escaped. Like any vermin he'd slither back into her life once again. knowing this she vowed to make his next appearance an utter living hell. But not just for him anyone who dared threaten what she held dear would feel the full force of her wrath to the most hellish extent.

With the unbridled violence that would make Aku proud, not that she gave damn about his approval or anyone else's at this point. She was going to live her life serving herself and what she believed.

As Santiago was handed over to the authorities she'd looked back at the people surrounding her, their faces in various phases of shock and awe. The world had finally seen her for who and what she was.

There was no turning back now.

Chapter Text

Pandora sat on the floor as her brother gently brushed her hair, humming the same song he always does. The song never brought her peace, in fact it made her skin crawl more than anything, but she knew better than to voice that opinion.

“My sweet little lamb, you've always had the most gorgeous hair,” Abel says as he ties a ribbon around her pigtails. “Nice and delicate, I’ll find you a perfect outfit to show the world how sweet you are.”

“Thank you, Abel,” Pandora mumbles, shuttering slightly as her brother tucks a loose curl behind her ear.

“Of course, my love. I’d do anything for you,” he says as he pats her on the head before leaving the room.

Pandora stands up, her legs wobbling a bit as she does so. She runs her fingers along her bruised neck and looks at the droplets of blood that stained her once pristine bedsheets. An insufferable feeling of anguish overcomes her as she yanks the sheets off her bed. She wants to scream, shout, rip the bedsheets to tiny slivers or better yet rip her own skin…But she doesn't, she can't. She just has to live with it. Instead she bunches the sheets up in a ball and cries into them, hoping that they muffle her sobs enough so that her brother or the other members can hear her. She can't show any signs of weakness, especially not in front of the other vampires.

After what feels like forever, Pandora disregards her ruined sheets into the hamper and wipes the tears from her eyes. She's lucky her makeup wasn't done yet or her brother would have been furious at her for ruining his work. As if summoned by her thoughts alone, Abel appears from the shadows, holding a white dress adorned with patterns of lace with a pair of ballet shoes to match.

“I got this for you, I think it'll match your hair perfectly…Have you been crying?” Abel asks, his eyes narrowing as he looks at his younger sister who's avoiding his gaze. He tilts her chin up, forcing her to look at him. “You have been crying. Is it because of what I did? I know it hurt but it's a necessity, after all.”

Pandora doesn't say anything, there's nothing to say to him. She grips the bottom of her nightgown and twists it slightly as if she was a child who was attempting to be brave.
