Chapter 1 Goodby, Hello

The break of dawn had come. It would be the last one he would see in this world.

It was a world of Magic and Gems. Another plane of existence bargained into existence. Originally a world born in Chaos as magic began to fade from one world and fled here.

Gem World.

A sprawling and majestic realm of Magic. Oddly, if one were to view this world from above, they would see it as the shape of a skull.

For what reason? Who could say.

Twelve different houses ruled these lands, aided by the Birth Gems of their Rulers. For untold millennia, they lived side by side with their divided borders under the Amethyst House, the strongest and most beloved Magic rulers of the realm. Interestingly enough, the last King of Amethyst held the title of a Lord Of Order.

A strange thing. A land birthed by Chaos but governed by Order.

Perhaps that was ultimately why he was not allowed to be here. Not anymore.

His name was Rulew the Attached. A Lord of Chaos but a neutral in the never-ending battle between the two forces.

The dark skinned young man had been allowed to keep the clothes she had given him during their adventures. Light blue in primary color, it brought to mind an adventurer of sword and sorcery. It was supposed to be more of a bard but since they were in a war at the time, it sufficed. His hands were bound in rope to his front. At his feet were a set of helix-style ankle balls and chains. They were only the first part of the binding keeping him from escaping his predicament.

As a burgeoning Lord of Chaos, simple magics wouldn't have been that much of a problem. That was where the most crucial element of Rulew's imprisonment came in.

He allowed himself to be bound.

Before him was a small group of denizens of the world of Gems. At one time, they were party companions and conspirators to defeat Dark Opal. And just before now, they were the Bastions of defense against the most Powerful enemy to invade.

And in front of them… Was a woman Rulew cared for the most.

A blonde human woman dressed in mystical raiments and armor. They were for ceremonial use since he knew her usual attire lacked much of the armor. And a shorter skirt. She shined far more than the crystal citizens behind her, a royal dark hue of pink, purple and blue that eclipsed the rest. Aside from the Amethyst tiara adorned on her head, she carried a saber at her hip that was made from the same substance. On her neck was the BirthStone of her House.

She was Amaya, Princess and now Queen of House Amethyst and newly instated Lord of Order of Gemworld.

She was also Amy Winston, a girl raised on Earth with hopes and dreams any other girl had that had been dragged into this adventure on her thirteenth birthday.

She wasn’t just that girl any longer. He thought. A bit of whimsy and remembrance drifted across his mind as her younger form, the one he’d seen on Earth, flashed for a moment.

He hoped that after this she went home and relaxed.

The Queen took a few steps forward but stopped a few feet before the bound being. To her side was the wizened Witch Citrina, who helped and guided the Princess from the beginning of her campaign.

"Rulew," she said, "You have the thanks of Gemworld for your efforts in freeing us from Dark Opal. As well as mine for keeping our true Princess safe from those that would see her dead. However, the losses suffered from Child cannot be ignored. Nor can the fact that you two are of the same kind."

Amaya tensed at the name and Rulew frowned.

"Gemworld is a place of Order now. As we rebuild, we cannot allow too much Chaos to fester and rise again. Be it from outside forces or from within."

The assembled bowed their heads. However, Amaya and Rulew could see something else in their combined shadows. A face of Power and Danger staring back at them.

A face that looked like Amaya’s. It was smiling. And it made their skin crawl.

"So it is with a heavy heart, we must ask Amaya, Queen of Amethyst, to banish you from Gemworld. Never to return."

"I understand. I'm bummed but I understand." Rulew nodded to the old woman. His golden eyes moved from her to the woman who would be closer to him in looks, agewise. "Sorry Amy."

"So am I, Rue." Not the worst nickname but not that good.

Drawing a symbol in the air, Amaya commanded her arcane forces to retrieve something from hidden means. It was a crystal. Blue in color but shaped as an Amethyst in design.

It was Rulew's anchor. One he made in Amethyst's image as a sign of friendship and an allegiance to saving Gem World. It also helped keep him in a corporeal form on the physical plane, lest he return to the ethereal as other Chaos Lords have done.

Or at least should be doing.

Amaya held it in her hand. She let Rulew and her Helper gaze at it before dropping it to the ground. She could crush in her hand but chose not to.

She would cut it with her blade.

The Queen drew the blade and held it aloft. Gazing into Rulew's odd eyes, she whispered, "Any final requests?"

"Can I have a kiss?"

He didn't even hesitate.

"Let me remind you," Citrina piped in. "That our Lady is actually fourteen years old."

"Cool. I'm pretty sure I'm five to fifth power so technically, I'm ten with some change."

The old woman rolled her eyes. Amaya chuckled and stepped closer.

"It's all right Citrina." She moved closer to the young looking man. In her Amethyst form, she managed to beat him in height by just a few inches.

There was something he liked about looking up to her when she stood before him.

If only I was a little shorter.

"One kiss from an old friend. As thanks for standing beside us as we fought Dark Opal. I couldn't have done it without you."

"Now you know that's a lie."

She giggled. Even in this older form, it sounded girly.

Amaya's hand rose and she touched his face. She moved in closer, cheeks red hot but not backing down. As she got as close enough to almost seal the kiss, Rulew tilted forward.

It was a small kiss. Simple and clean that should have lasted for a moment. It would have made the severing of this friendship all the more poignant.

But Rulew wasn't known for holding back on his wants for too long. If this was the last time he would taste her and hold her, he wanted it to have an impact.

He pushed his tongue past Amaya's full lips and despite the surprise, she let him in. Familiarity and a fond remembrance of past embraces between them led to a much longer and oh so much fresher exchange. One that came with moans of pleasure and extra arms sprouting from Rulew's back. The elongated limbs wrapped around the young Queen and she broke the kiss with a giggle.

After a moment, she was back into their make-out.

Both kissers had the same idea as Amaya got her arms around the young man's neck and pulled him close. This was definitely not something her parents would want to see their little girl getting up to. Something so naughty that she was too young for.

If only adventure didn't come with those exciting drawbacks.

Rulew's free hands were at work with one already pawing at her voluptuous ass, enlarging his fourth hand to squeeze both cheeks between his fingers.

Bless you, magic.

"Your Highness! Enough already!" Critina yelled.

Rulew held up a single finger as if asking for one more moment. His extra hands really began to play with the Queen's ass. More squeezes and an attempt to bongo drum her cheeks came up.

After a while, they finally separated. Rulew's boner was pronounced, thus ruining the severity of this situation. Critina grumbled while Amaya fixed her hair and clothes.

Once she was presentable, she held her Royal Magic Blade in both hands and held it to the Night Sky. Ambient magical energy gathered into its salmon colored steel until it lit up like a torch. As it flowed, the symbol beneath Rulew began to glow as well.

He closed his eyes as the power reached its peak and began to flow into him. He could have fought it. He probably would have won. Instead he just let it in.

It passed through his feet into his body. Soaking through his physical form into his ethereal one. It settled there and began engraving the symbols onto his very soul.

Moments later, he felt something appear on his forehead for a moment. The deed was done.

He opened his eyes and gazed at her.

"Goodbye, my Magical Girl."

She smiled sadly.

"Try to find someone," she replied.

With a spin of her hands, she brought the blade down. It cut into the blue gem and it shattered.

In a flash, Rulew was gone…

---------------

Middle of 2015…
A city in Ohio…

“And that was decades ago.” He took a swig of beer.

The room said nothing. Littered with old boxes of food and drink and junk, it was a squalor of downtrodden feelings. Or at least a recently dumped Bachelor.

Rulew was content to wallow in this mess for another twenty years. It was a backroom from a High Rise Apartment Complex in the United States. Ohio, since nothing else really happened there. Ordinarily, this room was a small closet but Rulew connected it to a separate plane of existence.

Originally it was where he could come and go to the Earth when he felt the itch. Too bad he hadn’t felt it in years.

For what was life without a Magical Girl Adventure?

Empty, that's what.

The young man was about to summon another Pizza when something came over him.

"Hm?" He looked up. The nagging feeling deep in his being picked up the fact that he was being called to someone on Earth. "No wait, it's not that I'm being called. Someone is summoning a Chaos Lord?"

He shook his head. "What are they, stupid? The only one who might answer is Klarion. Who the hell would call that brat?"

Rulew didn't have much to say about his fellow Chaos Lord. For what else could be said about a Brat having Nigh Infinite Chaos Magic and an insatiable urge to play. It was a good thing Nabu was around to let Klarion focus on someone else.

Rulew narrowed his eyes as the summon attempt continued. He could just send it away…

"You know what? Why not?" He muttered.

With a wave of his hand, the "Young" man cleans up his appearance. Hair fixed. Clothes cleaned. And teeth shining bright. Literally.

He donned a long cloak and hood to shadow his appearance. Unlike Klarion, Rulew did like the allure and mystic of a good cloak and hood. Not like he was imitating Shade. Rulew was far more sane.

His preparations complete, the Chaos being vanished.

Circa June 28th, 2015…
New York City, New York

Rulew blinked. Now he was in a room lit with only candles. Possibly a storeroom.

In front of him were two individuals. One was a blue skinned man with a spectral orange face on his chest. Why is one of his hands missing?

Judging from the magical essence wafting off of him, the man was not only the one who called but was possessed by a demon. A common occurrence on Earth.

It was the young girl next to him that garnered Rulew's whole attention.

She was young, just about to become a woman. In contrast to the man's purple shirt and pants , she was clad in form-fitting red spandex with a belt of tiny skulls and yellow gloves. Beguiling and oh so very fitting.

Rulew almost pegged her for a supervillain until he really looked at her. Her complexion was chillingly bone white and her eyes had no irises. This girl had died. Seeing a similar magic aura to the Demon Possessed man, it seemed that he was capable of using Resurrection. Though her Magical potential far outstripped his.

Why was she here? An apprentice? A sacrifice?

Questions to be answered but for now…

Rulew stood tall and crossed his arms. His decision to appear while floating proves aesthetically wise. "So you've called for a Chaos Lord?"

"Yes. I am Johnny Warlock. Demon Kingpin of New York. I wish to get more power for my new underworld."

"Hmm. Well I have been bored lately. I could assist you. But I'm not cheap."

"Oh, so you got high rates," the girl finally asked.

Rulew raised a brown at her cheek. And yet seeing that smile did something for him.

"Daughter, be silent. You are before a Lord of Chaos. If he chooses to destroy you, then he will."

"Not all of us are Klarion, you know." Rulew turned his hood to the Daughter and added. "Though he is correct. Don't you fear me?"

"A little but I've been dead. So you know?" She waved her hands in a "what can you do" fashion.

"Ah." Confirming his guess, the hooded one flicked from his spot in the middle of the room to bring almost nose to nose with the Daughter. She squeaked and hopped back. "How is Death? Still cheery?"

"Wait, what?"

"So you don't remember then? Shame."

"Death's a woman?" She then frowned and got into Rulew's non-existent face. "And personal space buddy."

Rulew chuckled. While her cute face was smile worthy, that power in her just sat there. Just waiting to be tapped into. He wondered what she would be like if she did learn to channel it.

Would this Daughter be like her?

"Enough!" The two turned to see Warlock growling at them. "Are we in business or not?!"

Rulew rolled his eyes. Demons. Just gotta roar at how big they are.

"Fine. Now as for pay-"

Crash!!

The room was beset by an explosion at the far wall. Out of the new hole came a woman. A beautiful dark haired woman floating on see through disk. Dressed as a Stage Magician with top hat, suit, and fishnet stockings.

Zatanna Zatara.

"dniB eseth seimenE!" With that shout, she waved her hand throwing three glowing balls. Suddenly glowing magical chains appeared on Rulew and Daughter. Johnny himself dodged with his own blast of arcane energy propelling him into the air.

She looked down at her captives but did a double take. “You two?”

The Daughter didn’t answer as she tried to escape. Rulew raised a hidden eyebrow. Interesting.

Johnny came back and charged at the Magic Heroine, deadly demon energy clouding his hand and stump. Zatanna muttered a quick spell and summoned a light shield on her wrist. The shield blocked the first attack and the second. Johnny jumped back and prepared to blast her away but Zatanna summoned the rubble from her entrance and threw them at him. He couldn’t dodge them all and was sent into the next room.

She returned her gaze to Rulew and the girl. She floated over to them. The Ghostly looking henchgirl continued to try to get free. Rulew watched as Zatanna floated over to him.

“Rulew.” He blinked. “What are you and Darla doing here?”

Rulew considered her and spoke, “I think you’ve met me at a different time.” His eyes dipped down to her sizable chest as it pushed against her jacket. “But I’d like to get to know you.”

Zatanna’s eyebrows rose before she narrowed her blue orbs on his. She looked over her shoulder before getting closer to Rulew’s ear.

“Come find me in 2009.” She then left them to chase after Johnny.

Rulew just laid there.

The young girl finally noticed and gaped. "Why are you just lying there? We gotta get out of here!"

"I know," Rulew said. But the voice came from behind her. She shuffled to her back to see another Rulew standing above her, looking at where the magic duel was going on. She looked back at the laying beside her. And again up.

"The fuck?"

"Just a stand in." He waved a hand and it faded away.

"Oh right. Magic." She then fidgeted. "So wanna help a girl out?"

Rulew's hood just stood there, slightly tilted but allowing only silence. It creeped the girl out.

"I have…a proposal." He crouched down and even still she couldn't see him. "I feel you have potential to be powerful. Whether that's evil or good, I don't know. And I don't care. But that potential is too good to ignore.”

Not to mention that girl knew you too, Darla. You must be important for me to meet her.

"So…how about joining me as an apprentice?"

She blinked in confusion. "What about Warlock?"

"What about him?"

"Aren't you bound to help him?"

"He just called me down. We didn't get payment exchanged and he's getting his ass kicked. Might as well move on."

"And you want…me? The used to be dead girl?"

"Yes."

The two stared at each other. In the background, spells spoken backwards gave way to shockwaves and ice beams while a stump grew into a Spectral Claw of demon energy. It wouldn't be long now.

".. You'll teach me magic?"

"Mostly what I know and what you already hold."

"Will I die again?"

"Not on my watch."

"Is this a sex thing?"

"Maybe later." He tilted his head. "Battle's almost done. Decision time."

The red clad girl stalled for a moment before she replied, "Teach me."

Rulew nodded and touched the binding spell. A twist of the finger and it dissipated. The Daughter did a flip and got back to her feet.

Standing in front of her new teacher, she asked, "So we're gonna run away?"

"No. Take my hand." He presented his hand.

Just as another crash blew a gust of wind and debris at the two, she took it.

When the smoke cleared, they disappeared.

---------------

"This shall be our home. For a time anyway. May get the urge to move should the mood hit me."

Rulew was standing in the middle of the room. The newly fresh clean room at that.

He turned and saw his new Apprentice lying on the mighty red couch.

"This is nice. Not as nice as my old house but I can get used to this couch." She tried to start bouncing on it but found herself sinking into the couch. Whatever she was trying to cry out was muffled by the fluffy upholstery. Just as her hand was almost lost, Rulew grabbed her and pulled her out.

The raven haired magical girl flopped onto the ground. Her face flushed in terror and her ass in the air. Rulew took a moment to appreciate that.

"Don't be too comfortable. You're in for a world of chaos after all." With a wave of his hand, a bottle of soda appeared in it. He whisked it to her hand. "Have a drink and be ready, Daughter. We'll begin soon."

"My name is Darla. It's weird that guys who aren't my Dad keep calling Daughter. So use my name." She answered as she sat up and uncorked her drink.

Rulew watched as she drank. His Empathic powers sensed deep sadness at the mention of her Father. Not to mention some resentment and longing.

So very interesting. I can work with this.
