Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Not many people knew where life would take them and not many people knows what they want to achieve in life. In Niran's case neither were on his mind- the only thing he was currently worrying about was finding his next meal. The life of a wanted criminal adventurer isn't and Niran knows that first hand. Sitting in an abandoned warehouse, clutching his travel bag closely as he counted how much money he had left was jarring, to say the least. Niran didn't have a lot of money and that didn't even begin to scratch the surface of the money transfer ratings increasing due to inflammation. He had just run from Southern China to India to throw Vishkar off his trail- when he mean by ran, he meant ran to a ship parlour to sneak on board a trailer to try get to Japan only to get up in India instead. Niran realizing his once-in-a-lifetime mistake collapsed on the ground and sighed. He had 706.47 yuan and when exchanged into rupee was left with 8256.48. In his first days, he said that it would be enough for him to walk from Southern India where he was dropped off up back to China to go to Japan to hide out there for a bit. But along the way, he realized that no matter how much he saved, if he kept giving to the poor or buying extra food for strays he found himself with only 2,478.17 rupees.

Niran sighed once again, "I am screwed, I am only halfway and already low on funds."

He knew what he needed to do, he wasn't fond of doing this but it was the quickest way to grab cash while also remaining on the more legal side of things. Niran knew what he need to do opened his travel bag and got a new, cleaner outfit to wear. It was one of the more expensive outfits that he bought because of this very reason. Niran went further into the warehouse and found a bathroom where he cleaned himself up. Once he did that, he changed his clothes fixed his hair, placed on his makeup and checked himself over in the mirror. His hair was in a loose high ponytail, his makeup on point and hid some of his more prominent facial features. His clothes sat tightly on his body while also showing his slim waist and hips. It was an open-buttoned white long-sleeve shirt, with a corset that honestly he got for the gag of it. And tight diem jeans, best part was he pulled out his black stilettos to give a more delicate look.

Niran blinked looking into the mirror solemnly, he never liked resorting to this option but he also couldn't go to Satya for money especially after he asked her once this year already. Well technically, it was a new year's gift which she always does. Send him a message to meet him at a location, give him money for the year and turn around telling him to not die. Satya already gave him so much even though she is technically supposed to be hunting him down- but she still cares and knows that what he is doing is the right thing. Sometimes when he comes across friends like Jamison and Mako when they meet like every year- they would give him much to Roadhog's disagreement some money that Niran knows that he will most likely not get any more for the next three months takes without questioning its origins greatly appreciates.

"Well, off to disappoint my mother again."

With that he hid his things and set off to a street he knew all too well back in his early days sleeping around instead of studying for the next exam. He walked to Sonapur in Mumbai, one of the many streets known for sex workers lining the street. And there is a specific part where men such as himself can be apart from their lady counterparts to get different clients. Niran placed on his mask not wanting people to know who is was and joined the other 7 men he saw on the road. Honestly, he must have come on a good day because everyone he remembered was still here. Niran leaned against a wall that was littered with graffiti and waited. It didn't take long for someone to pull up in a car and wind their windows down in front of him.

"How much?"

"I'm pretty expensive darling." Niran tried to not show that his skin was crawling him from this wrinkled man trying to get in his pants.

"For you darling, anything."

***

Niran has been at it for 4 hours, he has close to 58,329.55  rupees in his corset and was ready to call it a day maybe even 5 months before he even blinks at this option again. That was until a black Mercedes drove in, and attracted everyone's eyes. Niran didn't like the look of the car, it looked too expensive- too familiar like he had since it before. The door opened and everyone got into their best 'fuck me not them' pose. Coming out of the car were four men in suits, and Niran froze seeing the pin on one of their jackets. It was Vishkar men.

"Shit," Niran whispered while turning his head.

"Well men, it is the weekend and our boy Samir is finally 21 which means our boy is getting laid tonight." one of the men patted the other one on his back.

"Yeah, choose from these people." A man pointed to a woman with bleached hair and a red-fitted dress. "She looks like a good pick."

"Yeah, and that one looks exotic. Look at her waistline, no stretch marks, no nothing." the man before said. "But the pussy might be lost you know."

"Choose to your heart's content, maybe if you're into it look at some of the guys."

Niran started to turn around and tried to walk away as slowly as possible from the situation. There was a crowd gathering, so he would try to use that as his ticket out.

"I think I want that one. The one with the silver hair in a ponytail."

Niran froze, he knew he was the only one with a ponytail much less it being silver hair. He felt someone grab him and turned him around, he looked up to throw the mask's eye holes and saw all three men staring at him.

"This one, oh I get it. Is this about your crush on that runaway criminal?" one man said.

"Niran was his name, right? I forgot you had a crush on the man." one of the men looks him up and down. "He does look awfully like him too."

The man tried to lift his mask but he pushed it away.

"Gentlemen, Gentlemen you see it's my off-hour and I was about to get something to eat. You will have to ask for my services another time." Niran tried to pitch his voice differently from how he usually spoke.

Just as Niran was about to turn away he bumped into someone, and in that moment the mask fell to the ground. Alarms went off in his head and he started running for his life. He heard rapid footsteps before the sound of engines starting, he turned seeing that one of the men was chasing him with a car while the other two were running after him on foot. Niran cursed in his native tongue, turning into an alley, and jumping on a dumpster before jumping over a wall. He looked over his shoulder and sees them still chasing him. But when he turned around, the car from before stopped in front and Niran barrel rolled over the car front before running again. Niran ran and went to the outskirts of the city where there was a road to the warehouse he was staying. If he didn't take them off his tail now, they would find out where he is and he needed there to stay for just tonight before he moved again.

Niran stopped for a brief second looking around for an exit, when he heard a train horn. Looking to his right he saw train tracks and in the distance, there was a train coming. He turned towards it and started running as fast as his legs could carry him. He ran seeing the two men and car still behind him, he ran and jumped over the tracks. While running he heard a loud bang and when he turned he saw that the two men chasing him were fine but the one in the car was now upside down. Niran froze, seeing the other two men running to their friend to get him out of the car that was leaking gas everywhere. Niran knew in a matter of seconds that car would explode and at least one of them would be dead. Niran started hyperventilating, he needed to run, he had to run. But someone was in trouble and he wasn't going to turn a blind eye. Niran turned running towards the car using the biolight to life-grip the other men away from the wreckage.

Going on his stomach, he looked to see that the man was unconscious, bleeding from his head and pinned by his right leg. Niran with all his might transformed the biolight into a cranker that started opening the area that pinned the man in the car. While doing so, Niran used biolight to start healing the man's wounds- holding the man steady from shifting too much for the wounds to properly heal. He felt the other two men come over and just Niran's luck- they tried slowly pulling their comrade out of the wreckage. Once he was out Niran pulled them away before the car exploded in a fiery of metal and flames. Niran flattened on his back, exhausted from not only running for 15 miles straight but all healing a man with biolight energy he stored on him when he didn't have the source with him with his life force that drained him beyond fault. What made it worse was when the same man he saved from the wreckage pointed a gun at his head and turned off the safety- he knew he wasn't getting away anytime soon.

"You are coming with us." the man said.

"I don't suppose I can change my clothes first?" Niran asked snarkily.

The man looked at him silently.

"เชี่ยเอ้ยชีวิตของฉัน.(Fuck my life in Thai from GoogleTranslate)." Niran said while placing both his hands on his face.

Chapter Text

The first thing that Niran realized was the splitting headache that was on a rampage in his head. This was one of his worst migraines that seemed to be a mixture of all the migraines he missed over the years combined into one. Niran hasn't had a migraine since he developed his technology. Maybe this was the consequence of him avoiding something that was now biting him in the ass. Sitting up better he realized too that his neck hurt because of the angle it was hanging while he was sleeping. He felt himself sitting on a chair with his wrists and ankles strapped to the chest along with a strap around his upper chest and waist. Finally, he remembered that he was being questioned for god knows how long by Vishkar personnel. So far he has been vomited on, spat at, and had the absolute shit punched out of him and yet he would just jokingly scream out something either very kinky or very weird.

The first-day Vishkar saw that he wasn't wearing his gear and proceeded to find it in record time only to not be able to use it. At that time, he was in a jail cell being on his best behaviour after his mother and father visited him to tell him to mind his manners. Vishkar to their despair realized quickly that they couldn't work his technology and the technology refused to respond to their commands. When they took the technology to Niran, Niran immediately activated it to return to his body- which he then tried to escape. Only to realize that when Vishkar wants you they mean they will get you. Realizing that Niran was too dangerous to be left mobile because he could create anything with his biolight to help him escape they immediately placed him in the chair he was now in and placed a biolight hack on his gear to prevent his gear from answering his commands.

Out of the eight personnel Vishkar sent to torture information or obedience out of him, 6 of them left in record time because he kept joking about them being kinky towards him. He yelled 'Harder Daddy' at one man, then 'Touch me to find out babygirl' at another woman- he laughed as he remembered Baptiste had called him babygirl once when Niran told him he didn't care for pronoun labels and would answer to any of them. Baptiste after that never missed a chance to switch pronouns every so often during their get-together to remind Niran that he was taking what he said into account.  If Niran recalled the only other person that knew this about him was Satya and she after a while had just kept using they/them pronouns with him because she didn't know what he would feel like in a given moment. He heard the door open and he placed the biggest smile on his face getting ready for another torture session that was most definitely going to be painful as hell.

"I was wondering how long you fellows would leave me alone." Niran blinked. "You know tying me up like this is getting old and it gets lonely in here."

Niran had a pause seeing Symmettra standing in front of him with her arms folded and she looked at him with a blank face. Niran's face fell seeing that Satya was uncomfortable at this very moment, he knew three things about Satya- she hated whenever Niran voiced his kinks so willy-nilly, she didn't like seeing him hurt and she didn't like going against him unless it is their usual playful banter. Niran glanced at the camera in the corner of the room and saw it was on. He wondered when Vishkar would send Satya to him but he had not realized it was so soon.

"Your presence is so hard to not hear of in the most obnoxious way Niran." Satya created a chair in front of him and sat down. "Your name is flying around the place for all the wrong reasons, no order in it all too chaotic."

Niran looked her up and down before speaking, "I got to keep my reputation in order. They already messed up my mugshots when they were updating them- I was just voicing my concerns."

"Let us just get this over with. Why does your biolight not work with others?"

"Wouldn't you like to know weather girl?" Niran smiled before screaming as a projectile was launched at him from Satya's biolight launcher.

Niran looked up at her and saw her face was stone cold, but looking closer into her eyes, she was devastated to be hurting him.

"Why does your biolight not work with others?"

"Cause it doesn't like other people." Niran groaned as another projectile was launched at him.

"I am being serious Niran."

"And I am too. Why would I tell you anything to go tell Vishkar? Tell them to give up."

"Then how does your biolight work?"

"I don't know, it just works. I may be dumb it could have been a fluke or could have been stolen from someone." Niran paused before continuing. "It isn't even that exciting- I don't know why Vishkar finds this piece of junk interesting."

That pained Niran to say, he would die for his biolight technology.

"That is a lie." Satya pauses. "Then why risk your life for it?"

"The thrill of the moment, A little fun in my life. A little chaos keeps the blood pumping."

"Why does your biolight only respond to you?"

"I think it likes me."

"You aren't taking this seriously."

"And give me one reason I should-." Before Niran could even finish he screamed and blood dripped through his mouth as Satya shot a line through his chest and Niran felt his shoulder blade broken and felt that the beam passed millimetres from puncturing his lungs.

"They have your head on trial Niran. One wrong move and they will have your head if they must. If you don't take this seriously then I will for everyone's sake maintain order. Niran please say something to make me stop this. To stop all this. Please Niran, just hand over the biolight. I can't bare to see you hurt anymore." Satya looked at him bleeding through the opening she gave him.

Niran looked up with tears rolling down from his eyes and a smile on his face. He watched as Satya stared back at him taken aback by his smile. He looked down and tapped in Morse code to her knowing that the camera couldn't see his leftmost hand from the angle it was.

"Same here Satya." he tapped.

"My answer will forever and always be no." Niran turned to the camera. "Is this all you got Vishkar if I knew this was all you had, I would have had myself captured a long time ago."

Satya and Niran never spoke again, a few minutes later the door opened and three men walked in with three pieces of equipment. They asked Satya to step back as they connected the wires to his body and he saw a man powering it with his biolight. Another man raised his hand with a remote and pressed a button. Niran screamed and jerked violently in his seat as painful and powerful electric shocks ran through his body.

"AH!" Niran screamed. "Wait... Wait... Stop it... Hurts. AH!"

He couldn't see when Satya walked out of the room with tears streaming down her face.

¬scene change¬

"Who ate the last slice of apple pie?" Baptiste looked up from behind the fridge door to the people before him.

Hana paused as she was stuffing her face with a hand full of popcorn, pausing her game so she couldn't ruin the high score she was reclaiming from someone. Genji who was in the corner of the room meditating with Zenyatta opened one of his eyes looking up at Baptiste in a way that said, 'Don't even ask me.' Tracer and Brigette were both having a stare-off with each other before Tracer slowly covered her mouth with her fist before coughing.

"*coughs* Brig *coughs"

"Oh, come on." Brigette slammed her hands on the table frustrated before turning to Baptiste. "I didn't mean to, your apple pie tasted so good so I had to eat it again. If I knew you were going to eat it I wouldn't have touched it. I will bake another one."

Bapiste sighed before reaching into the fridge and grabbing the ice cream that was in the back and pulling it out. Everyone watched as he took off the posted note that was attached and proceeded to open it. Brigette realizing that it was most likely her ice cream that she was saving for later, jumped at him trying to grab it.

"What you coming at me for? Fair trade right? Besides if I knew you were going to eat it I wouldn't have touched it."

"My name is on it." Brigette was trying to reach for the ice cream that Baptiste refused to place in her reach.

Baptiste lightly chuckled before handing it to her and laughed as she pouted hugging the ice cream close to her chest while glaring at him. Brigette will forever be the foodie of Overwatch HQ. Baptiste sighed and settled on just a cup of water to pass the time while mellowing on his time at Overwatch. He has been in Overwatch for 4 years now, and it has become a second home for him- one that he is proud of and wouldn't regret as much if he left. He had made so many friends over the years and had so many allies that he will back up and have them do the same for him. He remembered first coming in feeling as if he was being watched, feeling that he needed to push himself to his limit to prove his worth to stay in the organization. It hadn't taken long before he reached his limit and had to have a stern talking to from Angela about his unhealthy behaviour. That day laying in a hospital bed from exhaustion he had so many people sitting around him trying to keep him entertained while he couldn't leave the healing wing. Baptiste turned with a smile on his face while lightly sipping the red wine he found in the back cupboard- he would get yelled at later. Peace was beautiful but never lasted long.

"GUYS!" Lucio came to a stretching halt at the door grabbing onto the rims to stop himself from falling on accident. "Y'all might wanna see this. In the Screen Room."

Everyone looked at each other before rushing towards the Screen Room as Lucio skated away most likely telling others to go to the same destination. Everyone was wondering if an urgent mission had suddenly come up that might require everyone's immediate attention. Once everyone reached the room, everyone stood at attention as they saw Winston, Solder-76 and Reinheart standing at the front of the large screen that was at the front of the room. The last time Baptiste remembered everyone needing to be in a room like this was when Null Sector thought it was a good idea to launch an all-out attack on the world- that took so long to destroy only to get information that Null Sector was still alive and planning their next large scale attack.

"Everyone is here now that is good." Winston looked at everyone before tapping the screen and a video started playing. "For context, this is about the recruit we sent out in the memo before to ask to join Overwatch."

Baptiste sucked in a breath before whispering, "Niran."

He felt Tracer and Brigette gripping his hands seeing that he was starting to shake from this being about Niran. Only a few people knew that Niran was recommended to Overwatch by Baptiste but even fewer knew that it was because he and Niran were in a romantic situationship and this was Bapisite's way of telling Niran to allow him to help him be safe. Baptiste had contacted Niran 4 months ago and he went on the date Niran promised him- he remembered Niran looking nervous and jittery as he ate. That night Niran left without a single goodbye only telling him to stop having contact with each other for 6 months. Now Baptiste was worried.

¬video¬

A News Anchor came on the screen. The person stood behind a crowd that was surrounding Viskhar headquarters in India and everyone was looking at the door of the headquarters. There was a truck that looked to be a large military truck that was used to transport criminals. There were guards everywhere and everyone was trying to get a good view.

"You have it here folks the notorious criminal that Vishkar over a week ago has been confirmed to be Niran PruksaManee a criminal wanted in 17 countries around the world will be transported from Vishkar Headquarters where he has been held under strict regulations and will be transferred to a high-levelled prison to await his trial for his crimes." the news anchor spoke to the camera.

There were screams from people as the doors of the building opened and the camera zoomed in to the security personnel walking out of the building- in the middle they spotted Satya walking out of the building holding a chain that connected to the handcuffs on Niran. Looking closely you would see that the clothes he was wearing were tattered and torn, his skin was filled with blemishes purple, black and blue. His bottom lip was burst and he held a black eye that needed immediate attention. Looking closely at his hand there were streams of straight yet broken lines on his arms.

Angela gasped, "Electricity marks. They electrocuted him."

Baptiste was now leaning against the wall seeing Niran in such a condition, and even despite all the pain Niran must have been in he stood straight, shoulders back, chest forward and smiled at the camera. The gear he usually wore was still on him and his handguard was still on his hand but was encased in a biolight case that dulled its usual glow. Security tried to push through the crowd to get Niran to the armed truck to transport him away. Suddenly a scream rang from the screen and Baptiste fell to his knees seeing Niran falling sideways. There was a small line of smoke coming from somewhere in the distance and everyone could only surmise that Niran was shot.

"NO!" Baptiste screamed.

Everyone seemed taken aback by his scream, everyone knew Baptiste to be very flirtatious and very playful but to see him broken, weeping with tears streaming rapidly down his face only pushed others to have tears of their own. At that moment everyone knew that Baptiste thought flirty and sometimes nosey with his comments knew that despite everything at that moment his heart was with one person that he couldn't have with him.

"Jean, I wouldn't cry yet. You would want to look at the screen before you start crying revenge."

"What do you mean?" Baptiste turned to Soldier and glared. "He is dead and I am not supposed to be mad. I can already tell who did this."

Reinheart pointed back at the screen and everyone turned to see that Niran was leaning sideways but had not fallen to the ground. He instead had his legs spread to balance himself. and there was a glow at the side of his head. The crowd dispersed as a tall figure walked forward to the crowd towards the security personnel. Satya turned to Niran looking to see if he was ok. The hooded figure took the cover from his face to reveal Ramattra who materialize his staff into his right hand. It was Zenyatta's turn to voice his discontent about the turn in events. Ramattra charged the security guards and knocked them out in quick succession. Before he could grab at Satya and Niran- Satya opened her teleporter and teleported away from him. The camera turned as Ramattra shot at them and Satya fell to the ground. Her ankle was bleeding profusely but looking beside her Niran stood tall looking at Ramattra.

Ramattra charged at them and Niran raised his hands and charged at Ramattra. Niran ducked at a punch Ramattra threw at him and grabbed his hand pushing it down before turning to elbow Ramattra in the face. Ramattra stumbled backwards and at that moment Niran swung his right leg around Ramattra's neck swinging on him grabbed his neck with his knee and threw himself backwards carrying Ramattra with him and slamming him into the ground. Niran tried to run towards Satya seeing that a man appeared behind her with a gun pointed to her head.

Soldier-76 grunted before continuing to watch the video, "Gabriel makes an appearance of course".

Ramattra grabbed Niran's feet before dragging him over his head and repeatedly slamming him into the ground. Dropping him on the ground and grabbing him by the neck- everyone watched as Niran tried to remove the hand Ramattra held him up with. Tears rolled down his eyes as he tried to loosen the grip. Baptiste saw the exact time Niran's limbs slowed down before going limp and his head fell backwards. Everyone saw Satya screaming Niran's name and begging the omnic to release him. Ramattra dropped Niran and Satya tried to crawl closer to Niran only to have the man behind her step in her back. Suddenly there was a bright flash and a large pink tree appeared in front of the camera knocking everyone back and Satya was grabbed by pink petals at transported to the top of the tree. Looking up Niran held his neck and the camera recorded as his wounds healed themselves and he stood tall on the tree. He raised his hands as small seeds were thrown down from him and everyone in the vicinity rose in the area away from the commotion they were surrounded by.

Niran jumped down walking to them as they shoot at him only for his tree to heal his wounds and push out the projectiles and bullets that embedded him. He stood in front of them and there were a few words exchanged before Niran turned to see that his tree disappeared. Turning he was surrounded by Reaper, Ramattra, Widowmaker, and Sombra. Sombra then turned towards the camera and then it flicked off.

¬end of video¬

"Is that it?!" Baptiste saw that it was the end of the video. "Is Niran and Satya ok? We have to go help them! I have to go and save them."

"No," Winston said.

"The hell you mean no?!" Baptiste turned to Winston.

"It would be foolish to charge headfirst into this trap. Especially for you Jean. You are an enemy of Talon. To go after them would be suicide." Reinheart tried to reason. "Besides this video appeared all over the internet and only happened a few minutes ago. What I am worried about is what Talon wants with Lifeweaver and Symmetra."

"There are three possibilities." Soldier started. "One. They wanted to get their hands on Niran and Symmettra's biolight technologies which are both powerful to destroy and heal the world and knew that the moment Vishkar was going to transfer Lifeweaver would be the perfect time to capture both of them. Two. Talon knew about your continuous contact with Niran and thought that if they captured Niran- you would show yourself hopefully by yourself to capture you and use the technology that you developed and stole from them."

"What is the third option?" Mei asked.

"Most likely a mixture of the first two options. Killing two birds with one stone. Talon and Null Sector are planning something big that we must prepare for so for now. We will not be going after them. Our priority is to protect you Baptiste then worry about retrieving Niran and Satya from their hands." Winston explained.

Baptiste didn't hear the end of it just storming out of the room, he heard his name being yelled as he walked out. He couldn't just stand there- he already lost a lover from Talon as well as a friend by their hands too because he was too late. Like hell he was going to be late again, he walked into his room and started to pack to get out of Overwatch to storm whatever building Talon was keeping Niran and Satya in. While picked up his phone and looked at his home screen it was a picture of Niran taking a selfie with him with Niran's lips kissing his cheek and Baptiste having the biggest smile on his face. But then his phone screen glitched and he dropped his phone. A video hologram projected from the screen and the video started playing.

He heard the door behind him opened but he didn't pay any attention. In the video, it was of Niran hanging on the wall by his wrist, blood trailing down from the torn skin trying to support all his weight by just his wrists. His eyes were covered and there was a bar gag in his mouth. He was shirtless and there were whip marks all over his body. Moira appeared in front of the screen and started speaking.

"Jean-Baptiste Augustin, if you are getting this message it means you are most likely thinking of saving your little boyfriend. I wouldn't be so fast if I were you. You see we have come to tell you the good news about our nullifying the bounty placed on your head- isn't that great news? You are a free man, how does it feel?" Moira walked towards Niran and grabbed his face causing him to groan in pain and force him to face the screen. "Your boyfriend's technology is way more useful to us, it has proven very... effective in its tasks both with biotic life and mechanical life. You're immortality field will no longer be needed. But do not think that because you are a free man we won't kill you if you try to take him back. Niran had agreed, right Niran?"

Niran thrashed and the sounds he made were muffled.

"Where are my manners?" Moira unclamped the gag and Niran coughed up blood and saliva.

"Baptiste," Niran whispered. "Please don't come. You are safe now so please. Don't come- I made a deal with Talon for your safety so please. I will be fine I promise. And remember that I-" Niran's sounds were muffled once again.

"Too much information." Moira turned to the screen and smiled. "Good evening Baptiste, hope to never see you."

The video ended and his phone screen returned to the photo it was before, but he didn't miss Sombra's hacking symbol flashing across the screen before it too disappeared. Baptiste felt a hand on his shoulders and turned to see- Brigette, Tracer, Genji and Hana standing behind him.

"What do I do?" Baptiste asked softly tears streaming down his face remembering how much pain Niran looked to be in.

"What we all joined Overwatch to do- save people from the destruction of our world," Hana stated.

"We will help you get Niran and Satya back don't worry."

"You know I think Winston might be right." Baptiste turned to them fully.

"What do you mean by that?" Brigette asked.

"I need to find Niran," Bapiste said nervously. "I think Talon is using him to get to me."

Chapter 3

Notes:

Before we start anything, something that happens in this story is for plot purposes. I do not know if what I am making the characters say is true or not. Most are true because I follow the Overwatch lore like it is a game to always be updated. But as I said this is for plot purposes.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

¬Sometime before in India¬

Niran stood his guard surrounded by the enemy, he only knew some of their names from reports Baptiste has told him especially since he used to be from Talon. Not all of them were there but the major ones that he knew. Evaluating his situation, he was indeed fucked. He smirked and placed his hands on his hips lightly swinging them side to side with his eyes closed. He took up his arms and stretched them as he smiled.

"You think this is funny?" He heard a raspy voice speak. "You think you have a chance to escape?"

"Well, Mr.Reaper I don't know about you but I am not good at close combat. So stretching increases my chances." Niran answered.

"You have a sniper aiming a killing shot point blank at your head. I have my gun aimed at your leg just in case you decide to run. An omnic that can grab you quicker than you can blink and someone who isn't afraid to disengage your gear." Reaper mentioned.

"Let us just get this over with Tenso (edgy in Spanish). Let us just take him back to HQ, we don't want to keep the guy waiting." Sombra spoke up.

Niran stopped stretching before looking at every single one of them, "I don't think this is a fair fight." Niran snapped his fingers and all their weapons were life gripped out of their arms effectively disarming them. "You all have weapons and I don't. Not curious at all."

Niran placed a platform underneath him and jumped off as it was going up into the air. He used his biolight strings to hang on to the platform before swinging around and kicking Reaper and Widowmaker away from him. He swung up onto the platform and grabbed Satya that had her teleporter again. Niran grabbed Satya and used her teleporter to teleport away from the scene. Niran held onto her as he ran for his life, he could have used his dash and gone faster but he saw that Satya was exhausted and barely could breathe. Niran wouldn't be surprised if it was from when Reaper stepped in her back. Niran had to think of something, he knew not the reason why Talon off all people were after him- last time he checked Talon didn't want to make an enemy of Vishkar. This was making an enemy of them by not only going after a biolight technology they wanted to get their hands on but also hurting one of their best architects.

While he was distracted he grunted as he felt a bullet run past his cheek, he quickly turned to avoid another shot that instead of going into his chest went into his shoulders causing him to drop Satya. He felt a barrage of bullets hitting him in various places. He watched as Satya got up and covered him from another round of bullets looking up he saw the number of bullet holes Satya had as she smiled at him. Tears came to his eyes as he grabbed Satya and pulled them into an alley. Looking at her injuries none of them were fatal but the amount she was bleeding was alarming.

"Niran, run."

"No."

"Niran be smart about this."

"Satya I will not let you die here." Niran placed his hand on her to use his biolight to try to heal her.

"Niran, it is too late. Just run."

"It is never too late."

Niran placed more biolight healing waves into Satya which he used as a sort of rapid healing tactic. He watched as the bullets pushed out of Satya's body and the wounds closed leaving only scars. He looked at Satya realizing that Satya had passed out from the pain, Niran was at a loss. He could hear footsteps making their way towards him and Satya was currently defenseless. He quickly looked around trying to see what he could do in this moment. He looked and saw further into the ally and saw a large dumpster. He grabbed Satya jumping in and moving some of the trash bags out of the way. He laid her in it and softly apologised to her for leaving her in such a place to hide. He used the trash bags he moved to cover her clothes that's if someone looked in they wouldn't immediately see that it was a person in there. He took out his phone and opened the pinning function on his phone. He used it with some people when he was meeting up with them to tell them his location and now he needed it more than ever. He sent the pin to go off in 45mins and sent the request to Baptiste's phone.

He hesitantly wondered if he should carry his gear along with him- if he handed himself over they wouldn't be as lenient as Vishkar with their torture methods. Crawling out he took one last look at Satya's conscious body and smiled before slowly walking out of the alley. He turned and saw Ramattra turn around to him staff in hand ready for a fight. Niran slowly raised his hands in surrender. He watched as everyone from before except Widowmaker appear in front of him, weapons back in their hands aimed at him. He looked into the distance and saw a flicker of light realizing that Widowmaker was aiming her shot at him. He stoned his face into a blank stare.

"I hand myself over." Niran started. "But I have demands."

"You humans sicken me." Ramattra walked forward grabbing Niran's hair and pulling it back so he could look up into the robot's face. "What makes you think you have the right?"

Niran slowly opened his mouth and watched as everyone stepped back seeing a flicker of red light on his tongue.

"Are you insane to place a live bomb in your mouth?" Sombra stared at him slightly frightened.

"I don't know if you know but I am wanted in 17 countries. I have multiple ways to escape a situation even if it means my death." Niran took a breath to steady himself frightened at the live bomb in him- he hadn't done this before. "I have demands, there are quite simple. Meet them and I will do everything you ask of me. Don't and you will your bargaining chip."

"Bargaining chip?" Reaper asked. "What do you think this is Lifeweaver?"

"Isn't this a way for you to capture a certain someone who stole technology from you a long time ago?" Niran asked.

"You think we are using you as a bargaining chip for Baptiste?" Sombra asked. "Disparates (nonsense in Spanish), if we don't swing like that. This is for you Niran, your technology has proven to be even more powerful than people thought. Talon has found a slight interest in it."

"I think you are giving him too much information." Ramattra chastises Sombra.

"Well then, makes my demands have even more weight." Niran looked.

Reaper laughed for a bit, "Alright, what demands do you have?"

"One, you leave the architect that was with me out of this- she isn't your target so leave her alone."

They all looked at each other before Reaper nodded, "Alright deal. She was collateral damage anyway."

"Two," Niran paused. "Remove your bounty on Baptiste's head."

"WHAT!?" Reaper screamed.

"I knew his demands would be outrageous." Ramattra stepped towards him to grab me.

"Then we are done here." Niran spat the thing in his mouth onto the ground and watched them scatter.

Instead of a large explosion, a large tree immerged from the ground blocking them from him, Niran turned to run away only to feel a hand behind him. He looked seeing a woman who was the same height as him- with ginger hair, an eye mask that was white and the cruellest smile on her face. Before he could move, he felt all of his energy being sapped out of him. He tried grabbing at her hand to take it off of him but his limps could barely move. He fell to his knees and felt himself getting light-headed, through blurry eyes he saw the other people walking towards him seeing that he couldn't move.

"We were going to get him you know?" Reaper snarled.

"Of course, you were." the woman behind him. "Target sedated, time to bring him back to HQ. Why did you not listen to his demands?"

"They were nonsense," Reaper answered.

"Not nonsense. Smart ones did at a bad time. Besides, with his technology, we will no longer need Baptiste's technology."

"Tsk."

The last thing Niran saw before blacking out was Reaper taking back his gun and swinging it into the back of his neck causing him to lose consciousness.

¬time skip¬

Niran jolted awake and gasped. He was silently hyperventilated as he realized that despite his eyes being open he couldn't see anything. He couldn't speak because of the bar that was in his mouth. He was even more worried that he had to strain himself to pick up the voice in front of him.

"-fast if I were you. You see we have come to tell you the good news about our nullifying the bounty placed on your head- isn't that great news? You are a free man, how does it feel?" He groaned from the pain as someone grabbed his face roughly pointing it in a direction. "Your boyfriend's technology is way more useful to us, it has proven very... effective in its tasks both with biotic life and mechanical life. You're immortality field will no longer be needed. But do not think that because you are a free man we won't kill you if you try to take him back. Niran had agreed, right Niran?"

Realizing that the woman was maybe speaking to Baptiste his body finally started to respond to his command to move. Niran thrashed against the restraints on his wrists tears filling his eyes wondering how long has he been hanging by his wrists. he couldn't feel the floor under his feet and the blood he felt running down his hands worried him.

"Where are my manners?" Moira unclamped the gag and Niran coughed up the copper taste he had in his mouth.

Niran took a breath before starting, "Baptiste," His voice spoke raspily and coarse. "Please don't come. You are safe now so please. Don't come- I made a deal with Talon for your safety so please. I will be fine I promise. And remember that I-" Niran's sounds were muffled once again and he thrashed as the gag was placed on him again.

"Too much information. Good evening Baptiste, hope to never see you."

Niran screamed into the gag which only came out as muffled screams and he thrashed even more. It took a while before, he heard a loud clink sound and he fell to the ground flat on his stomach. His arms were in pain from holding his body weight up without support, he heard footsteps walking closer to him and he tried to shuffle away from the person. His back hit the wall and he felt himself violently shaking. He didn't know where he was, who he was with or what the hell was going on. He felt the cloth on his eyes be removed and he looked up to see. The same ginger woman from earlier remembered that he most likely was in Talon's enemy line.

"Slept good, Niran?" the woman asked. "Sorry, but I do not think I have introduced myself properly. My name is Moira O'Deorain. But Moira is just fine."

Niran didn't answer, only just stared at her, he didn't know her that well and Baptiste had not mentioned a woman such as this so he couldn't work with anything. Moira leaned even more towards him and he pushed himself further against the wall. He was breathing heavily, sweating all over and most of all in tears from the pain rampaging in his body. He felt like there was no escape.

"It is good that my experiment on you didn't do any long-lasting effects. We would like our workers to be in their best condition." Moira stood up straight.

"Experiment?"

"Yes, I was using one of my inventions but usually it just sucks the life out of its subjects rapidly which results in their deaths. I was trying to slow it down to just place a subject unconscious. You are the first subject to not die from it- I wonder if it is because of your technology." she placed her hand on her chin. "Variables will always arise."

"How could you experiment on other people like that?" Niran glared at her. "That is just plain wrong."

"Yes, but it yields results."

"You should be creating your inventions to heal people, the world even not harm people," Niran said.

"Where there is light there will always be darkest taken into account Niran."

Moira grabbed Niran's hair and started to drag him to the door. Opening it before throwing him outside, his eyes were assaulted by blinding white light that surrounded him. A large contrast to the darkness his eyes were in before- he felt two pairs of arms grabbing him and dragging him to follow Moira. Looking around, he saw many cells he could hear people cursing Moira with their every breath. He was dragged into a laboratory and clamped to a test table. He tried pulling his hands and ankles from their restraints only to stop because of the injuries already on them. He looked around and saw rows of test tubes holding people in them- looking closely he felt pity some of them looked as if they weren't even human anymore. Some had different skin colours, others had extra limbs are other body parts. He looked over to Moira see her grab a clamp off the table before dragging a chair towards him. She sat down calmly at his waist with the clamp and a clipboard. She looked over his body before humming and writing something on the clipboard.

"Seems like Reaper and his men had a wild time whipping you." Moira started. "But for some reason, you haven't healed at all. Is it because you are not wearing your gear?"

"My gear?" Niran quickly realized that he wasn't wearing his biolight gear and instantly started to panic.

"Don't worry, we couldn't use the thing anyway. Why? And we saw your responses to Vishkar, no playing around- our boss already agreed to your terms and conditions so it is time to hold up your end of the bargain."

Niran sighed, "Are you absolutely sure that the bounty on Baptiste's head is gone and Satya isn't here?"

"Yes." Moira looked from her clipboard into Niran's eyes. "You have my word."

"My biolight only responds to me and me alone." Niran started.

"Why?"

"I don't know. It just works like that. I have tried allowing others to use it but it never worked the same way as it had for me." Niran looked away from her stare as it was making him jittery. "When I created it, I wanted to heal the world at any cost. It kept failing because it was too unstable. But one day when I was travelling I saw that there was a way for animals to heal animals or plants or plants to heal other animals or plants. So I tried that method, it was tedious but the biolight started acting in the same way. before I knew it it was healing plants, animals and people. It seemed to be alive and I never realized that it came at a cost."

"The cost being?"

"My life." Niran looked up at Moira before glancing at the ceiling. "It draws life force from the user and uses the life force to another. The more you heal the more life force you use. It allows the user to take the pain from others and bring it onto themselves. In turn, when they stop healing, the biolight technology heals the user but at a much slower rate."

"Interesting." Moira wrote away on her clipboard.

"Because of this, I do not think it when my biolight is given out because people will think they are all powerful and end up killing themselves from overexerting themselves and the biolight. The wires that I have connecting it to me are back-ups I wear to help me mitigate the damage it brings to me. Most don't know that it doesn't actively heal the host as rapidly as you might have seen. I have it connected to my thoughts and nerves. If I want to heal myself rapidly I have to input commands that would include me in it. For example, when I drop my tree, I command you to heal everyone or heal my allies and your maker. Or heal your maker." Niran looked at Moira as he saw her face contour into excitement. "If I don't and make a command that doesn't include me then I will end up using energy that I didn't replace and could accidentally kill myself or get myself killed."

"Is that it?"

"My biolight doesn't respond to others' commands because it doesn't recognize you as its maker or host. It can only occur if I give you permission and if you truly want to heal the world."

"So you are saying, no matter what we do. I will never be able to use it because you didn't give permission to use it?" Faded and appeared behind Niran her face right above him. "What if I were to force you to give it to me?"

"It would not recognise you as its maker. I have seen someone overuse it and it would disengage from the person and return it to me. Even if I gave you permission, you would faint before you can even use its full power."

Moira rose walking over to her table and grabbing something off the table. When she turned around, he saw that it was a gigli saw (1). putting two and two together he looked at the instrument and then the hand seeing his handguard was still on it, tho still encased in a biolight hack was still on his hand. He tried moving out of his restraints.

"Please, let us think about this," Niran screamed.

"But I have already thought this through. I will just take this handoff to see if it is true. I think I already have a subject to reattach this arm to. You said it had to recognize you as host but you never said if it had to be attached to your body. I have seen you use it without it being on your body." Moira started the saws smiling at him. "Let us see if this hypothesis is correct."

Niran screamed as he felt the saw cut through his skin before reaching his bone. He screamed bloody murder, begging for mercy. He halfway gave up and begged for some kind of painkiller- he just wanted the pain to go away. He felt tears stream down his face in rapid succession, he left his skin pulling on his lower arm because of him trying to pull away from the pain only to be caught between his restraint and the saw. He felt the exact moment he went limp and all the pain seemed to go numb. He was tired, as a matter of fact, why was he so tired? He weakly looked over to Moira as she picked up his amputated arm, he didn't know how to react at that moment. Was that his arm? He watched as the handguard's light slowly faded until it shut down in Moira's hand.

Moira sighed, "You are right, I guess were will have to make you its user. I don't know how I will tell Doom about this update."

Moira pressed a button and she turned to him stitching up his wound before turning to the guards tilting her head to me.

"Bring him back to his cell, I don't care what you do with him just make sure he doesn't die from that wound. I need him alive for my plans."

The guards looked at him realizing that they couldn't carry him away as they had before. So they picked him up by his back and underneath his knees so efficiently that it seemed they had to carry many people like that before even him. He was carried to his cell and thrown into the corner before he felt a clamp go around his left hand's wrist. Cold sweat washed over him, as he looked up at the guards seeing that they didn't leave the room.

"Boss Moira never carries in women for us to use." one of them said.

"We will just have to deal with it." Niran watched as both guards started to undo their pants. "At least he isn't like those other subjects. At least he got a pretty face. And if what I heard correctly, this is Traitor Baptiste's little boyfriend."

"Well, if Baptiste liked him, then he should be a good fuck."

"Please." both guards turned towards me. "Please, leave me alone."

One of the guards walked to him and grabbed his face lifting him towards the man's private part that he waved in his face.

"Shut up, in here you have no rights." the man forcefully pushed his cock into Niran's mouth causing him to choke a bit from it being quick. "So be good and you might not lose another limb."

¬Scene Change¬

Baptiste was getting frustrated right now, looking back at his phone again, he saw the signal coming from Niran's phone. He checked to see if he was in the right place- confirming for the nth time that he was indeed in the right place he violently grunted.

"Calm down, Baptiste, he must be around here somewhere," Lucio said while holding onto the wall to keep watch for the squad as they searched the alley.

It has taken them 3 hours to reach Gibraltar Overwatch to India and then it took an hour to get to the signal they were now tracking for the past 2 hours. Brigette and Tracer were looking inside buildings surrounding the area, while he and Hana were searching the alley itself.

"I would calm down if both Satya and Niran weren't missing." Baptiste opened the dumpster out of desperation at this point because he had searched it 5 times now. "This is our only lead, at this point, we will only get his phone but not either of them. After that video ended it seems no one could capture what happened. And everyone we ask just keeps saying they saw him disappear. They must have used Satya's teleporter to get away to where? We don't know."

"Hi, we have been at it for a while. We have searched this entire area and Lucio looks like his limbs are straining to keep himself up there to keep watch." Hana said. "Let us take a quick break and get back to searching."

"Hi, I am pretty strong to stay here longer." Lucio released his hold on the wall to show off his muscles only to fall into the open dumpster that Baptiste was searching.

Baptiste raised an eyebrow at Lucio seeing the shocked expression on his face.

"You ok?"

"Yeah, this foot broke my fall." Lucio paused before looking down and seeing a leg in front of him. Lucio jumped out of the dumpster higher than any normal person is supposed to jump before screaming. "I fell on a fucking body! I fell on a crime scene."

Looking closer, Baptiste lifted multiple trash bags seeing clothes that looked all too familiar, "Wait aren't these the clothes Satya was wearing?" he removed more trash bags before he saw the face of a woman. "SYMMETTRA!"

He heard Hana and Lucio call Brigette and Tracer over as he pulled Symmettra out of the dumpsters. Brigette, Lucio and he got to work checking Satya's vitals checking her for any injuries and everything. Looking in her pockets, Baptiste pulled out two phones- one was a picture of Satya and Niran in their architect uniforms. The other which he immediately recognized as Niran's was a lock screen of Baptiste stuffing his face with marshmallows with Niran snacking on an ungodly amount of strawberries. Opening the phone, he saw the pinning app on the phone. He turned it off before holding it close to his chest. He was late, once a-fucking-gain.

"Guys, there is something at the back of her neck." Tracer pulled a pink throne out of Satya's neck.

Before anyone could react, Satya sat up rapidly, punching Baptiste in the cheek and yelled, "NIRAN!"

Everyone paused seeing her reaction, Tracer looked at the thorn she pulled before rapidly pushing it into Lucio's hand whose eyes blow open realizing he was being situation blamed. Satya looked around realizing that it was not Niran with her but four strangers in front of her and her gaze turned to Baptiste. They made eye contact before tears started to come up in her eyes, there was a hiccup before multiple came out of her and her shoulders shook from her crying.

"Niran. No."

"What happened?" Hana asked.

"Don't tell me, please Satya." Baptiste grabbed her hands.

"Talon took him," Satya whispered.

Everyone realized that this went from a medium-level to a high-level rescue mission. Noone saw Baptiste's face contorting in the meanest glare he could muster before whispering, "Mwen pral fout touye yo. (I am going to fucking kill them. in Haitian Creole)".

Chapter Text

It was dark, it was nighttime after all. Moira was used to the bright lights of her lab, she would be in there for hours on end most of the week sometimes having Gabriel come in to complain about his pain and Amélie about her migraines. Now Akande wants to talk to her about Niran, it has only been a few hours for Niran to wake up and now he already expects results. She knew she was a miracle worker with her timing but she wasn't a God. Standing at the door leading to Akande's meeting room, she took a deep breath before walking through the door chest high, strutting towards Akande, and looking out the window at the garden view. He was just standing there as he usually does trying to seem intimidating, but Sombra had once said he was doing it because he wanted to fit his role of being the leader of a terrorist group. Moira had seen Akande ask Sombra to mind her business and then immediately ended the meeting. Moira had a mind to underhandedly mention the moment but it has been years to the point it was when Baptiste was still a part of Talon which has been a very long time. She walked up right beside him and looked out the garden to see who he was looking to see Widow shooting apples off a soldier's head.

"I don't know why she keeps doing that, she can shoot way further than the distance she is giving herself," Akande says.

"She does it as a means to punish her subjects," Moira responds. "Sometimes it is 6 shots one kill as she says."

Akande hums before turning towards the meeting table, he took up files before raising them towards Moira. Quickly scanning it was Niran's files, Sombra seemed to have done extensive research about the man. Moira wondered how interested Sombra needs to be in someone to go through so many channels to not only dox them but know the person from their birth until they die.

"Sombra found some interesting things about Lifeweaver. There were several periods in his life where he has no digital footprint, physical footprint or even influence on the world." Akande handed a timeline paper to her which she scanned before he continued. "She did fill in the blanks though, not without pulling a few strings from other people's accounts."

"Niran seems to be capable in his own... unique way." Moira at the moment didn't know how to feel about Niran being able to semi-hide things from Sombra. "I had thought he was more of a happy-go-lucky person, it seems he still has his witts about him."

"Yes indeed, by the way. How is he? I heard from a soldier that he is awake."

"He is."

"Anything to say about him?"

"The biolight is going to be hard to use without him."

"How so?"

Moira didn't feel like explaining everything to Akande but he seemed to have caught her drift about the tired look on her face.

"Is it that bad?"

"It is but I have a solution."

Akande turned towards her with a look she knows all too well, "I am not having another emergency on my grounds. I dislike having someone run into my quarters at 3 am saying you almost killed or killed someone with your experiments."

"The ones that died were just not compatible."

"And Gabriel, Siebren and Amélie were?"

"There are wonderful subjects. Niran however... He might be my best subject yet."

"Give me one good reason."

"Trust me, you haven't seen what his biolight can do."

"I have Sombra showed me the video." Akande placed the files back down on the table before sighing. "Fine. But Moira if he dies, I hope you know that I can not protect you from who will come after you."

"Overwatch has tried to come after us multiple times but failed."

"I am not talking about Overwatch. I said who not they." Akande simply slide another file towards her and she looked in seeing that it was Baptiste's file.

Moira didn't know why Akande was doing this, why should she be scared of Baptiste? She had joined Talon around the same time as Baptiste but she only knew about him on a serious level when his ex-squad reported that he abandoned Talon. She opened the file and began reading it only to pause at some of the things written on the file. Moira glanced at Akande as he simply kept eye contact.

"Baptiste lost everything during the Omnic war, his parents, his community, his home, everything. Before he joined the Caribbean Coalition, he grew up by himself and had to learn how to protect himself. He then joined Talon to pay the bills and the debts he owned. But before he left, when he was helping with assassinations, overthrowing of companies, etc. He was one of our best men. Do you know why?" Akande glared at Moira and she remembered why she didn't like getting on his bad side. "Because he wanted to survive. Survival instincts can change a person, I am sure you know that as well. Baptiste was scarred and because of this when he tried to run away and I faced him, we both left with injuries we will never recover from."

"So the rumour I heard about Baptiste injuring 154 soldiers during his escape wasn't a lie?"

"Try 237 soldiers in 3 days." Akande chuckled as he handed her a photo of Niran and Baptiste holding hands- Niran smiling at Baptiste and Moira saw the look in Baptiste's eyes that she had only seen once before. "Baptiste loves hard Moira. He gives his all when he truly loves something or in this case, someone. I have seen it first hand, do not mess with someone's love Moira. You got stronger because you do not love. He got stronger because all he could do was love. So I will say this again, if you go through with this experiment be ready to have Baptiste come for your life."

"What happened that day, was the reason you were in the medical bay because of him?" Moira asked.

Akande turned around and walked back to the window signifying he was done with the conversation. But when Moira turned to leave Akande seemed to have remembered what he wanted to ask Moira.

"Do you think this man- Niran will aid in the overthrowing of Overwatch?" Doomfist asked while deep in thought. "This seems to be a gamble."

"Do you trust in my work?"

"Mhmm." Akande hummed thoughtfully.

"That will be your answer."

¬Scene Change¬

"And that is the full report." Tracer saluted while shivering to try to lighten the mood.

The air was tense, after returning to Overwatch HQ with Symmetra in tow, the atmosphere had dimmed drastically. Walking into the building, people who tried to say hey paused as they saw the air around them. They had sent Lucio to escort Symmetra to Angela to check her for any injuries they missed while Tracer, Brigette, Baptiste and D.Va went to the room where Winston, Reinheart and Solider were most likely waiting for them. They had asked for a report and as the Captain of the group Baptiste was meant to give the report. But everyone could see that he was currently in his head and his face was a dead giveaway that he didn't want to be pulled out of his thought process. Tracer who was second in command had given the report, omitting a few words that would cause someone to be placed under surveillance.

"Thank the heavens that Symmetra is alright." Reinheart started. "Now it is time to plan our next course of action."

"No need."

Everyone turned towards Baptiste, seeing that his eyes were more focused and that he was more coherent instead of whispering threats under his breath.

"What do you mean by that?" Solider asked. "I will not allow you to charge through the front door of one of the largest terrorist criminal groups in the world. We have to play this smart. One wrong move and God knows what they will do to the boy."

"He is right." Winston intervened. "Talon is not something to play with. Besides, you all must be tired, you should be ready and we will pick this up tomorrow when our minds are fresh and awake."

"HE DOESN'T HAVE TOMORROW!" Baptiste screamed. "YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE HORRORS I HAVE SEEN INSIDE TALON WHEN IT COMES TO PEOPLE THEY KIDNAP AND EXPLOIT. DID YOU ALL FORGET WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WIDOW AND REAPER? IF WE WAIT THEN IT WILL BE LATE AND WE WILL LOSE ANOTHER FRIEND. MY HEART IS IN DANGER BECAUSE WE ARE JUST STANDING HERE SCARED."

Tracer and D.Va were shocked at Baptiste raising his voice, not Brigette though- she had seen him get this angry only once which was the day he joined Overwatch. She had never seen a man so desperate yet angered at that very moment. She knows that Baptiste had seen things that they only heard happened at Talon. She could feel his old anger resurfacing, tears coming to his eyes that he refuses to let fall. Baptiste hides his emotions behind flirtatious words and a charming smile. But the man underneath was someone not to be trifled with.

"I don't know about you but I will not wait until the last minute to do something." Baptiste finished his statement. "I am not the only one that thinks like this."

Reinheart stared and Baptiste before slowly walking towards him, the clicking and clanking of his eyebrow was the only thing that radiated through the room. Reinheart bent to reach Baptiste's eye level and saw the look of a man who was barely keeping his sanity. Those eyes were aimed to kill and destroy- Reinheart knew it wasn't to him but it still sent a tickle down his spine.

"What did you do?" Reinheart asked with his voice lacking its normal boom but instead of an underlining threat of sorts.

"You will know." Baptiste phone rang off and Reinheart watched him take his phone out of his vest pocket and answer it.

"Baptiste."

"Is that Genji?" D.Va asked.

"Are you there Genji?" Baptiste asked ignoring the question.

"Yes, I am. Talon was a bit tricky to get into but your directions proved to be useful. I am in the prisoners' wing looking as we speak but it is mostly people who are... mutated." Genji said solemnly.

"Put it on speaker," Solider said. "That is an order."

"You are going on speaker Genji, and I am adding the others to the call."

"Were you caught?" Genji asked.

"Not caught, just stalled."

"Genji, I hope you know. Your master would not like this." Reinheart spoke as if it were a matter of fact.

There were then two dings and two additional voices.

"Bringing his master into the conversation is such a low thing Reinheart."

"Ana?" Reinheart stood back in surprise.

"I am here too you know."

"Sojourn? You too? Do you know the number of rules you three are currently breaking?" Winston questioned.

"It was a matter of time." Ana started. "Besides, we aren't engaging in a fight with them- this is a simply recon mission... I have sight on Akande and Siebren."

"I have sight on Amélie and Sombra."

"How did you convince them to help you with this?" Tracer asked Baptiste.

"We volunteer. And there are two on standby close to us ready to come to our aid if things go south." Genji said. "Master and... my Brother."

"What is this mission about anyway?" Reinheart sighed.

"Simple, to retrieve Niran in one piece. Talon expects us to wait and plan a good attack- this may be slap-dash but it is unexpected. I followed this team to retrieve Symmetra because Hanzo confirmed that Niran was the only one that was captured. I had asked them to tail Talon since the video you showed me two days ago. Didn't you realize that Ana, Zenyatta, Genji, Sojourn and Hanzo haven't been at the base in the last two days? They are in Italy." Baptiste said. "After he comes back home, I will take whatever punishment you deem fit but do not stop me. I will not fail again because I hesitated."

The tension rose and was only broken when Genji's voice was heard.

"Baptiste." Genji's voice was dripping in disgust and quietly tamed anger. "I think you should see this. But I don't know if I should tell you are show you."

"Show me."

Everyone watched Baptiste stare at his phone and the emotions that ran over his face- shock, and sadness before anger came back on his face in a greater force than before.

"I was spotted. We got to go. Everyone retreat." Sojourn yelled.

There was shuffling with several people disconnecting from the call only leaving Genji.

"They are looking at me, but I still want to ask this before I make my next decision. Should I retrieve him?" Genji asked. "Baptiste, I am fast I am sure I can grab him and run."

"Retreat."

There was a pause before Baptiste watched Genji jump towards the people that were staring at him.

"GENJI NO!" Baptiste screamed.

¬Scene Change¬

*couple minutes before*

Gabriel walked into Moira's lab to once again complain about the pain he was having. He swore Moira was just not helping him for shits and giggles but he was getting sick and tired of his skin peeling off him. His genes may have changed but that doesn't mean he wants to not be human. Thought thinking back on it, is he even human? No human can do what he can well other than Moira. He had to pause seeing that in the lab, was none other than Niran in the examination chair and for a lack of better words looked like complete and utter shit. Reaper couldn't count on the amount of needle wounds he sees on his skin much less the blood leaking from places blood shouldn't leak from. Bariel could also see that his head was slowly rocking side to side with it dropping to a side before being slowly straightened again.

He heard Niran's heavy breathing from the door and could smell the chemicals being pumped into him by the machine located behind him. His body was covered with teeth marks, hand marks and other markers- he would rather not remember. But the number of wires on the man seems to not be the man's vibes, he had lost weight, and his skin was looking away more greenish than the brown he knew his skin was. He turned to Moira seeing her back still turned to him as if his existence is irrelevant.

"Moira, could you do something for this unforgivable pain?"

"Hello to you too," Moira responded.

"Will you turn around and face me."

"If you can not see that I am busy, I would like to reiterate that I am watching Niran's vitals for anything remotely troublesome- so excuse me if I can not do anything for your pain when I am trying to keep someone alive because I don't want Akande's complains lodged down my throat again."

"It is the least you deserve."

Gabriel turned towards Niran when he heard him loudly groan before his lips moved with soft sounds coming from them. Gabriel just had had about enough of this as he could. He was about to turn and leave when he heard Niran speak.

"Is that you?" his voice came out in a soft, coarse manner.

"What?" Gabriel responded.

"You finally came... I am happy. It means we are safe now" Niran looked up to face him, eyes unfocused, clouded and dilated. "I always wanted to see you again Baptiste. You seemed to lose some weight though. And you somehow got taller... But you are here, I am happy." Niran paused. "I don't feel so good, will I be ok?"

Gabriel didn't know how to respond- he was going to curse Niran for mixing him up with the other man but then paused seeing the smile Niran gave him. He wondered how in all the pain he must be in how was he still managing to smile so widely and brightly. It was beyond him- he would have been stuck on that if he hadn't seen Niran's eye shift towards the door. And when he turned around, he saw a man that he hasn't seen since Blackwatch days.

"Genji!" Reaper turned causing Moira to look in the same direction too. "What are you doing-..."

Before he could even finish his sentence, Genji had dashed towards Niran and made quick work disconnecting Niran from everything restraining him.

"Wait. You are going to kill him!" Moira yelled.

"When since have you ever cared about someone living or dying?" Genji asked.

"You do not understand. There are very deadly drugs running through his system and if he isn't on them then he will die in a matter of minutes." Moira explained.

"And why should I believe you? You are harming people, I would cut you down with my blade once and for all if I wasn't worried about Niran's safety and vulnerability." Genji said.

"Genji, this is one of the times I am not sugarcoating my words or over-wording what I mean." Moira stared back at Genji. "Feel his heartbeat, it is slowing down right? He is dying."

The stare-off was heavy but Genji simply placed Niran on the ground before running out the door he came from before jumping out of the window. Gabriel just stood there as Moira raced to get Niran back on the machine. He felt like at the moment it was his opportunity to leave- so leave he did.
