Chapter 1: Volume 1, Chapter 1: The Job

Chapter Text

A teenager walked down the sidewalk. He wore a dark blue hoodie. White stars decorated the hoodie and the back of the hood. The hood's rim had two long white strings attached to either side of the hood. On the end of the strings were golden balls. He wore a light blue glove on his right hand. He wore baggy white pants and white sneakers. He had black hair with a long strand of hair that went down to his eye, and he had brown eyes.

The teen stopped halfway down the sidewalk. He looked up and down the street—rows of buildings but no “Stardust Cafe.”

“What the hell!” The teen exclaimed. “Was this guy just fucking with me! Where is this cafe!”

A rough hand grabbed the teen’s shoulder. “What?” The teen sharply asked as he turned the see a man standing behind him. He was a tall man with short black hair. A black beard covered his face. He wore a red suit and dress pants. He also wore black dress shoes.

“Are you Hoel?” The man asked.

“So what if I am?” The teen asked with an annoyed look. He shoved his hands in the front pocket of his hoodie.

“Then you’re the guy I’m looking for. I mean, the only Hoel I know is the mysterious assassin….” The man said as his grip on Hoel’s shoulder tightened. Hoel glared up at the man.

“So you’re my client then? Where is this damn cafe we were supposed to meet at?” Hoel asked with an angry tone in his voice.

The man chuckled and replied, “Come with me, Hoel. I have an excellent job for you.”

Hoel shrugged and followed the man down an alleyway. Hoel spotted a door on his right. A sign with “Stardust Cafe” was on top of the door.

“Fuck…” Hoel muttered. The man opened the door.

“Here you go,” The man said as he gestured for Hoel to go first. Hoel glared before taking a step into the warmly lit room.

Empty tables dotted the room. A bar stood at the end of the room. A man stood behind the counter. Hoel took a seat in the closest one. The man sat across from him. The man looked at the bartender, who nodded and left the room.

“What’s the job you have for me?” Hoel asked as he rested his chin on the palm of his right hand. “It better be good because I was sweating my balls off in the heat just to find you.”

“Not used to the California weather?” The man asked.

“Of course fucking not! Japan was not as hot as this place!” Hoel exclaimed.

The man hummed before continuing, “My employer has a vetted interest in you. We discovered that you related to those fruit sellers, the Higashikatas in Japan. You’re a cousin, right?”

“How do you know that?” Hoel growled out. His hands formed tight fists.

“My employer has connections,” The man said nonchalantly. “Now, why would a relative of a successful family run off to become an assassin?” The man asked mockingly.

“I don’t associate with them anymore. We weren’t even close anyway. My mom was only partly related to Norisuke, and she hated his guts.” Hoel explained with a glare in his eyes. The man chuckled.

“Good. Now for the job,” The man said as he leaned forward. Oh, how Hoel yearned to reach across and punch him in the face. “A man recently moved here. He’s living just around the corner from this place. And he has a disc with him.”

“A disc? What’s so special about a disc?” Hoel asked as he leaned back in the chair.

“That disk has certain information about our organization and colleagues in Japan,” The man spat out with hate in his eyes. Hoel rolled his eyes. The man sighed and straightened his bear.

“We will pay you $20 million for the job. An extra $3 million if you bring us the guy's head,” The man continued.

Hoel grinned. No way would he pass up this opportunity at $23 million. “I’m in!” Hoel said and reached over to shake the man’s hand. The man smiled and graciously shook his hand.

As Hoel was about to get up from his chair, the man said, “Before we leave, we have a rule,”

“A rule?” Hoel asked—a sneer formed on his face.

“Yes. You must take her with you,” The man said as he pointed behind Hoel. Hoel glanced back and saw a young woman sitting on the bar’s counter. The bartender’s head was in her hand.

Chapter 2: Volume 1, Chapter 2: Dead Weight

Chapter Text

“Who the hell is that?” Hoel asked as he pointed at the woman. She wore a red fur cap that covered the top of her head. She had long blond hair, bright blue eyes, and tan skin. She wore a long fur coat. The right half has red, and the left half is blue. A large white star was on the back of the coat in between the colors. She wore white pants and black boots.

She smiled and threw the head behind her. “My name is Boney Mercury. I will be accompanying you for the foreseeable future.”

Boney jumped off the counter and sauntered over to the table. She pulled out the chair and plopped herself down.

“Fine,” Hoel said as he seated himself again.

“Good,” The man said with a smirk. “Here is the address of the house the man is staying at. I expect you to behave yourselves and get the job done.”

“Whatever, boss,” Boney said as she picked at her red and blue nails. Hoel sneered but nodded at the man.

“Great,” The man said as he got up. He gave one last look to the two before leaving the back alley cafe.

“We should leave,” Boney said once the man was gone. “The cops will be here soon.”

“Huh?” Hoel asked the woman. Sweat ran down his face.

“Yep,” Boney said as she got up. “He likes to do that to new people like you. It’s like a test to him,” She reached out a hand toward Hoel. Hoel stared at it for a moment before taking the hand. The two ran out of the cafe and out of the alleyway.

The two walked down the street. Boney in front and Hoel trailing behind her.

“So. I’m guessing you’re a stand user like me,” Boney said as they walked. Hoel stopped.

“Why should I answer that?” Hoel asked.

“Well, if we’re going to work together, we should know each other stands and their abilities,” Boney explained.

“I don’t have to tell you anything,” Hoel said. He stared at her back.

“Fine. Fine. You don’t have to be such an asshole about it,” Boney said as she held up her hands. Before Hoel could say anything else, a voice interrupted him.

“Hey bitch! Why don’t you leave that little dick and come with me!” A lean man shouted. His chubby friend chuckled.

Hoel looked back at the two men. Boney glared at the two before turning and walking down the street.

“What did you say?” Hoel asked. Boney stopped and glanced back.

“Listen, short stack,” The lean man mockingly said. “She doesn’t deserve you! She should hang out with a real man!”

Hoel glared at the man. “Dead Weight,” he muttered.

“Huh?” The man looked confused at Hoel. Unbeknownst to him, a figure appeared behind Hoel. Boney smirked at the stand. It was a tall and thin humanoid creature. It had light blue skin. Dials ran down the middle of its chest. It had a tube-like neck, arms, and legs. Another tube went from its torso to its pelvis. It had light blue eyes with two vertical lines instead of irises or pupils. It had no nose and was frowning. The top of its head was flat, with two antennas coming out the top. On the back of each hand was a white star.

“What the hell did you say to me, you brat?” The lean man shouted in the passive face of Hoel. The fat man looked ready to intervene. Boney held in a full-blown laugh from escaping. Hoel pointed at the lean man. With a flick of Dead Weight’s wrist, the man stopped.

“W-What the-” Before the man could finish his sentence, he was crushed into a pancake. The fat man looked shocked and couldn’t even scream before he two was flattened like his friend.

Hoel sighed and turned to Boney. “Let’s get to our target’s house already. I want to lie down and go to sleep.”

Boney couldn’t hold it in anymore and laughed as she followed Hoel down the street.

Chapter 4: Volume 1, Chapter 3: Dancing Queen and The Disc

Chapter Text

“So this is the place,” Boney said as she leaned against a light pole. Boney and Hoel were in front of an average house. It was a two-story house with a brown roof, and it was painted blue. It had steps that led to the front door. A couple of windows dotted the front and side of the house.

“Looks like a normal house. No obvious traps in sight,” Hoel said. He was standing behind Boney. “We should still be careful. We don’t know if this guy knows somebody will steal this disc.”

“Heh.” Boney chuckled. Hoel glanced at her. “Don’t worry about that, Hoel! My stand will help us,” She said with a grin. A figure appeared behind her. It was a tall feminine figure. It had a large blue afro with an electricity design on the afro. It had glasses that covered its eyes with two vertical lines, blue heels that went to its knees, green skin, and blue hands. Blue fur covered its neck, ankles, and wrists. A fur coat was warped around its waist.

“My stand is caller Dancing Queen. It can detect electrical currents. Since atoms are made out of electrons, protons, and neutrons, I can track a person. I can see the man sleeping in his bed right now!” Boney explained as she pointed to a window on the second story.

“Then let’s get in there,” Hoel said as he strolled to the front door. Boney followed behind Hoel. Dancing Queen disappeared.

Once the two got to the front door, Hoel reached inside his pocket and pulled out a lockpick. Hoel leaned against the doorframe so it would hide him lockpicking the door open. Boney watched in fascination before the door opened with a click.

“Hurry inside,” Hoel whispered. Once the two were inside, Hoel shut the door. Hoel glanced around the house. It was an average living room. A couch, a tv, a couple paintings.

“Do you see anything weird about the inside?” Hoel asked Boney.

“Dancing Queen saw a safe behind that painting over there!” Boney said as she pointed at painting on the left wall.

Hoel walked over to the painting and he slipped the painting off the wall. Behind the painting was a safe. Hoel smirked as Dead Weight appeared. The safe door crumbled in on its self. “I used Dead Weight to increase the pressure thst the safe door had appiled to it! Now we can get inside!”

Dead Weight grabbed the safe door and gently put it down on the floor. Inside the safe, a small gray disc sat in the otherwise empty safe. No markings were on the disc.

“This feels to good to be true,” Hoel thought as he grabbed the disc. Just as he did that, Boney flew past his head and slammed into the wall. Boney let out a squeak of pain.

Sweat dripped down Hoel’s face as he turned around. A man stood their. He looked to be about thirty years of age. He wore a white sailor’s uniform and sailor’s cap. He also wore white shoes. He was striking a pose. His rught hand was on his face while his left pointed at Hoel. He was leaning forward and had a scowl on his face.

“If you don’t tell me who you guys are then my Soft & Wet will dispose of you as well,” The sailor said with a glare.

Chapter 5: Volume 1, Chapter 4: The Sailor Man from Japan

Chapter Text

“Tell me who you are now,” The sailor man said with a glare pointed at Hoel. “And why did you go after that disc?”

Hoel held up his hands. “You wouldn’t understand!” Hoel said while sneering at the man.

“Try me,” The man said. His stand was pointing at Hoel. A bubble was on the tip of its finger.

Hoel sighed, “My name is Hoel,”

“Hoel? I think I’ve heard about that name,” The man said. Sweat dripped down Hoel’s face. Suddenly, he gained a look of understanding, “Ooooh! I know! Norisuke told me that some kid named Hoel ran away from his sister’s place!”

Hoel was silent for a moment. “Norisuke….Who are you?”

“My name is Josuke Higashikata….” The sailor man said, and suddenly, his stand disappeared.

“What the…” Hoel thought.

“And if you are the Hoel I’m thinking of than that means you are family,” Josuke said.

“I’ve never heard of a Josuke being apart of the Hagashikata family…” Hoel said as he grabbed Boney by her shoulder and held her up.

“I’m new…” Josuke said with a shrug.

“Fine. Do you even know what is on that stupid disc?” Boney asked as she rubbed the back of her head.

“I’ll tell you,” Josuke said as he went to sit down on the couch. Once he was seated he continued, “It has information about a organaztion that sells fruit called Locacacas. I’ve already dealt with them in Japan.”

“So thats who hired us,” Hoel said.

“Damn. That guy never gave me a cluue that is who he was working for,” Boney said with sweat dripping down her face.

“You know them?” Josuke asked.

“Yeah. They’re some spooky motherfuckers!” Boney said. She added under her breath, “Maybe I should call in some favors.”

“So?” Hoel asked. Josuke and Boney turned to them. “I don’t care who my employers are as long as they give me my money,” Hoel said with a sneer.

“That’s the problem,” Boney said. Hoel glanced at her. “This organazation will not pay you. They will kill you,” Boney continued as she sent a fearful look at Hoel.

“Stay with me,” Josuke said suddenly.

“What?” Hoel asked. “No way! I’m not staying with a Higashikata! I’ll be fine on my own!”

“Hoel…” Josuke started to say but Hoel wasn’t paying attention. He grabbed the disc and made his way toward the door.

“Wait!” Boney yelled out before grabbing Hoel and sending both of them onto the floor. “Get down!” She yelled. Josuke immeditaly got on the floor just as a bullet went through the window and went through the space that Josuke once occupied.

Chapter 6: Volume 2, Chapter 5: Pumped up Kicks (part 1)

Chapter Text

Hoel looked up from where he was on the floor. Hoel gasped.

“What the…” Hoel muttered as he saw no damage to the window or the wall that the bullet went through.

“Where did that bullet come from?” Josuke asked.

“Dancing Queen can detect electrical charges!” Boney explained to Josuke. “The shooter is outside right now,” She continued.

“Then all we need to do is get outside and kick his ass,” Hoel said with a slight grin.

“It won’t be as easy as that,” Josuke said. “This guy has a stand ability,”

“But what is? What is this person’s stand and ability,” Boney asked herself. She started to crawl under the windows. Just as she crawled forward, a bullet entered straight through the wall and through her leg.

“Fuck!” She yelled out. She clutched her bleeding leg.

“The bullet went straight through the wall like it didn’t even exist!” Hoel thought as sweat fell down his face. “Is that its ability?” He asked himself. “No…there has to be more to this.”

“Damn. Don’t move,” Josuke said in a panicky tone. “This stand might be able to track movement.”

“If that is the case, then…” Hoel started to say but cut himself off.

“Hoel…don’t do what I’m thinking you're going to do,” Josuke said. Hoel smirked and shot up, and ran into the kitchen.

“Hoel!” Josuke shouted just as a bullet phased through the wall and went towards Hoel’s head.

“Hoel!” Boney shouted out in panic.

As the bullet neared him, Hoel muttered, “Dead Weight….”

The bullet stopped and immediately was crushed into a tight sphere. Hoel never stopped running.

Once in the kitchen. Hoel made this way to the back door. Just as he was stepping out the door, a bullet went through a wall and entered Hoel’s leg.

“Fuck! Bastard moved!” Hoel yelled out as he grbabed onto the door frame. Hoel wobbled his way through the door. “This bastard must be near the front of the house,” He thought to himself as he turned and started walking forward to the front.

A bullet phased its way through the front fence. Hoel completely stopped. The bullet flew towards him and phased through his chest. It came out the back and continued moving.

“So I was right,” Hoel said to himself. He glared at the fence. “This bastard’s stand can only hit moving targets!”

Hoel sneered before shouting, “Dead Weight!” Dead Weight appeared and sent a flurry of punches at the fence. The fence collapsed. Hoel grinned at what he saw from behind the ruined fence.

With a smirk, Hoel asked, “So, you’re the stand user?”

“So, you’re the user!” Joey shouted as he pointed at the figure that was behind the fence.

A woman stood on the sidewalk next to a fire hydrant. She had tall and poofy hair. She wore a red jacket that hung onto her right shoulder and off her left arm. Underneath, she wore a blue shirt with a torch design. She wore a red pencil skirt and blue boots. A red and blue gun was in her right hand. She sneered at Hoel.

“Fuck you,” She said before pointing the small gun at Hoel. “If you so much as move, you’re dead!” She shouted with a grin on her face.

“It's great than that I’m going to defeat you without moving!” Hoel exclaimed as Dead Weight stood behind him.

“What the fuck are you talking about?” The stand user asked with a sneer.

Hoel pointed at the fire hydrant that was next to the woman. “That fire hydrant… it's in my stand’s range.” He explained.

“W-What…” Coco muttered. She could see the fire hydrant shake. Coco’s eyes widened, and she turned to run but was too slow. The fire hydrant exploded. Water came crashing towards Coco. She was sent flying down the sidewalk, and She hit her head. Her gun went sliding a couple of feet away from her.

Coco picked up her head. She moved to grab the gun when her hand crashed into the pavement.

“Agh!” She groaned in pain. She turned her head to see Hoel stalking toward her. His stand followed right behind him.

“My stand increased the pressure on your hand. Now tell me, did this Locacaca organization send you?” Hoel asked as he leaned against a lamp post.

“F-Fuck you…” Coco replied with a sneer. Blood dripped down from her nose and onto the pavement.

“Fine,” Hoel said with a shrug of his shoulders.

ORA!” Dead Weight reared back its fist and sent it flying toward her face. Hoel’s eyes widened as he saw for a moment Coco’s skin turn hard as a rock. When his stand’s face made contact with the stand user’s face. Coco’s face crumbled. She lay there as rocky chunks of her face scattered on the sidewalk.

“What the fuck…” Hoel muttered to himself.

[Coco Foster]

[Status: Deceased]

"So she was a Rock Human. That confirms it,” A voice said from behind Hoel. He turned to see Josuke and Boney walking towards him.

“What the hell is a Rock Human?” Hoel asked as he glanced at the corpse of Coco.

“It’s a different species of human who can turn themselves into rocks,” Boney explained.

“They usually work for the Locacaca organization,” Josuke added.

“Okay…” Hoel said. There was a moment of silence.

“We need to find a better place to stay at. I know a friend near the beach,” Boney said with a grin. Hoel and Josuke looked at her. “Her name is Barbara Ann.”

Chapter 10: Volume 2, Chapter 7: Barbara Ann

Chapter Text

A lighthouse stood on Malibu beach. It looked abandoned. Moss crept into the base of the Lighthouse. Its door stood ajar, and the lantern’s glass was cracked. A woman stood in the gallery looking out to sea. A figure in red walked up the beach and stopped at the lighthouse's base.

“Barbara Ann!” The man shouted. The woman straightened up and walked around the gallery to see the man. She was tall, and she had tan skin. She wore a bandana around the back of her long blond hair and blue eyes. She wore jeans there were cut off before her knees. She also wore a yellow jacket with swirls that went around the middle of the coat. Underneath, she wore a blue t-shirt with the words “Twist and Shout” printed on it. She also wore blue sandals.

“What the hell do you want?” The woman asked with a frown. Her grip on the railing tightened.

“We have a job for you,” The man said as he folded his arms.

“Fuck no! I ain’t doing any more jobs for you creeps!” Barbara Ann shouted. She turned around and was going to walk away when the man called something.

“If you don’t do this job, then that human you adopted will face the consequences,” The man said with a grin on his face.

Barbara Ann stopped. Her hands clenched into fists. Her teeth gritted together.

“Fine!” She shouted over her shoulder. “Now, what does this job entail?” She asked as she turned around to look at the man.

“We want you to kill a specific group of people if they ever come here,” The man explained. “Their names are Josuke, Hoel, and Boney Mercury,” The man continued as he pulled out a folder from his pocket. “This folder has all the information you will need on them.”

“Just leave it next to the door,” Barbara Ann said. The man nodded and walked up to the lighthouse door. He laid the folder next to the door before turning around and walking off the beach.

Barbara Ann watched the man walk of Malibu Beach. Once he was gone, she put her head in her hands.

“What have I gotten myself into,” She thought to herself.

Chapter 11: Volume 2, Chapter 8: Surfin’ U.S.A. (part 1)

Chapter Text

Hoel, Boney, and Josuke walked down the sidewalk. Boney was in front of the group.

“So where is this Barbara Ann you talked about?” Josuke asked Boney.

“Oh. She lives at some lighthouse on Malibu Beach.” Boney said with a grin. “Malibu Beach is nearby, so we should get there fairly quick,” Boney grinned.

“That’s good,” Hoel said. He glanced back at Josuke and gasped.

“J-Josuke!” Hoel said as he quickly turned around and pointed at Josuke. “L-Look!” Hoel exclaimed. Boney turned around and gasped.

“What?” Josuke asked as he looked where Hoel was pointing. His eyes widened as he saw a blue arm phasing through the ground and Josuke’s pants pocket. “What the hell!” He exclaimed as the arm retracted. Its hand held a brown wallet.

“That’s my wallet!” Josuke shouted. “Soft & Wet!” Josuke said as Soft & Wet appeared and tried to punch the arm of the stand. As the punch got close to the stand, it flew back and sunk into the ground with Josuke’s wallet in his hand.

“Are we being attacked already!” Hoel asked as Dead Weight appeared.

“It looks like it. My Dancing Queen can’t see any suspicious electricity!” Boney said with a sneer.

“So you guys are stand users as well,” A voice said from behind the three. Hoel’s eyes widened. The three quickly turned to see a young child phasing through the ground. Their stand was behind the child and had a hand on their shoulder.

“You’re the user of that stand?” Josuke asked. The child nodded. “Why the hell did you steal my wallet?” Josuke shouted out the question.

The child sneered and said, “You wouldn’t understand.”

“Try me,” Boney said with a slight grin.

“Surfin’ U.S.A. will give me and my mom a better life!” The child explained as the child and their stand jumped out of the ground. This gave the three a good look at the stand and the user. The stand was a slim blue, robotic stand. It had white eyes with two vertical lines and a bored look on its face. It had a blue chest plate that protected its chest. Across its body, it had a wave design. The child was even stranger. They had black hair that covered their forehead and bangs that went past their ears. They had white lipstick on. They wore a red fur jacket and white dress pants and a black belt, and black dress shoes. They wore red and white goggles that covered their eyes.

“Who the hell is your mom, kid?” Boney asked. “Cause I feel like I’ve seen you before.”

“Her name is Barbara Ann!” The kid said with a sneer.

“Oh,” Boney said. Hoel’s and Boney’s eyes widened. Josuke sighed.

Chapter Text

The four stood looking at each other. The kid juggled Josuke’s wallet in their hand.

“Look, kid,” Josuke said as he stepped closer. Surfin’ U.S.A.’s grip on the kid’s shoulder tightened. “We don’t want to fight. We were actually going to visit your mom. So just give me back my wallet, and we can talk,” Josuke continued.

The kid stared at the man. “No. You could be one of those men that come over and threaten my mother to join their gang,” They said with a sneer on their face.

“No, kid,” Boney said as she leaned against a lamp post. “We just want to talk to her. We’re that group’s enemies,” She continued.

The kid’s eyes widened under their goggles. “Fine, but if you’re lying, my stand will easily take you out,” They said with a shrug. They tossed the wallet at Josuke, who caught it.

“Now,” Hoel said. “What’s your name, kid?”

“My name is Little Saint Nick,” The kid said. Their eyes never left any one of them. “What are yours?” The kid asked. The three introduced themselves.

Little Saint Nick was silent for a moment before shrugging. Surfin’ U.S.A. disappeared. “You guys seem trustworthy enough. Follow me. I’ll help you get to my mom.”

“Thanks, kid,” Hoel said. Little Saint Nick nodded, turned around, and walked up the street. The three followed them.

As the four disappeared around the corner, a figure emerged from a nearby alleyway.

“This is my chance. If I get rid of at least Josuke, the boss will praise me!” The figure said. “Yes! This will definitely work! Fat Lip will destroy each and every one of them!” The figure continued. The figure looked down the street and saw a homeless man walking up the road with a cane in his hands. The figure grinned maliciously and walked towards him.

Chapter 14: Volume 3, Chapter 10: Fat Lip and Soft & Wet (part 1)

Chapter Text

Josuke stopped. The others turned to see what was causing the man to stop.

“What’s the matter, Josuke?” Hoel asked. “Are we being attacked by a stand user?” He asked.

Little Saint Nick asked, “If that is the case, do you want Surfin’ U.S.A. to scout the area?”

“No,” Josuke said. “It's just a feeling. You all go ahead of me. I’ll check it out,” He continued.

“If that is what you want,” Little Saint Nick said with a shrug. They turned around and continued walking. Boney and Hoel followed them.

Josuke stood and watched them walk away. Once they were gone, he turned around.

“Okay. You can come out now! I know you’re there!” Josuke said with a scowl on his face. He watched as an old man wobbled around the corner.

“What the hell!” Josuke shouted as he saw the man. The man had a bloody nose. Blood dripped down and covered the homeless man’s coat.

“Are you okay? Were you attacked?” Josuke asked the man as he continued to walk towards Josuke.

“Hey! Answer me!” Josuke shouted. “Fine. Soft & Wet!” Josuke exclaimed as Soft & Wet shot a soap bubble at the ground near the old man.

“I just took away the friction from the ground,” Josuke said as the old man stepped and started to fall. “Now, you won’t be able to get up!” Josuke explained. The man tried to get up but fell back down.

“Now, who are you?” Josuke asked the old man. The old man snarled at Josuke.

“Fine. Be that way,” Josuke said. Soft & Wet reared back its fists and sent them flying at the old man.

ORA! ORA! ORA!” With one final punch from Soft & Wet, the man has knocked away. Josuke could see the man was struck unconscious.

“Damn. Who even was that man?” Josuke asked himself.

Just then, a voice shouted, “What did you do to that old man?” Josuke turned to see a young woman running up to the old man. A young man was behind her, looking at Josuke.

Just as the woman touched the old man, the old man surged to consciousness. He grabbed the woman and slammed his fist against her face. The woman was knocked down, and blood dripped from her mouth and nose.

“What the fuck did you do to my girlfriend?” The young man shouted. Josuke’s eyes widened.

“Get away from them!” Josuke exclaimed. The man continued his path to the old man.

Chapter Text

“Get away from them!” Josuke yelled out to the man. The man ignored him and grabbed the old man by his collar.

“Soft & Wet!” Josuke shouted. Soft & Wet shot a soap bubble toward the man, but it was too late. The old man punched the man right in the face.

“Fuck!” The man shouted as he held his bloody nose. He stood for a moment before collapsing onto the ground.

“What!” Josuke exclaimed. “What did you do?” He asked the old man.

The old man turned to Josuke and said, “I’ll kill you, Josuke Higashikata!” The man and woman stumbled to their feet. They both turned to Josuke and started walking.

“Damn it!” Josuke thought as he ran towards the three. “Soft & Wet! Steal the friction from the ground!” He shouted. Soft & Wet shot a soap bubble at the ground. The three people ran to the side and walked around the area affected.

“They dodged it…” Josuke thought. Josuke glanced back and saw a man with a toolbox walk down the other side of the street. “Soft & Wet!” Josuke exclaimed—Soft & Wet shot soap bubbles at the toolbox.

“Steal the screws from the toolbox, Soft & Wet!” Josuke said. The soap bubbles hit the toolbox, and screws appeared in the soap bubbles. They floated back to Josuke.

“Take this! My soap bubbles are filled with screws!” Josuke shouted. The soap bubbles exploded, and the screws flew and hit the three people following him. Blood shot out of their wounds, and the three collapsed to the ground. Josuke stared at the three bodies. “Now it's time to catch up with the others,”

“Ugh…” A man groaned in an alleyway. Blood dripped out of the wounds in his body. “Fuck you…Josuke…” the man said before falling into a puddle of his blood.

Chapter 18: Volume 3, Chapter 12: The Lighthouse

Chapter Text

“So this is the lighthouse?” Hoel asked as the four stood on the edge of Malibu beach. Little Saint Nick nodded. They walked down the side of the beach with everyone else following. Once down, Little Saint Nick led the group to a small lighthouse.

“Mom!” Little Saint Nick yelled to the top of the lighthouse.

“Nick?” A feminine voice asked. A woman appeared at the side of the gallery. She gasped when she saw the four. “Get away from them, Nick!” She yelled before jumping down from the gallery.

“What do you mean, Mom? These guys are allies!” Little Saint Nick said. Barbara Ann’s hands clenched into fists.

“What are you talking about?” Barbara Ann shouted.

“Barbara! Don’t you remember me!” Boney said with a grin.

“Shut the hell up!” Barbara Ann yelled as she stalked toward the group. “Get away from my kid!”

Little Saint Nick went to grab onto their mom. “Wait! Please, Mom! Listen to us!” They said with a worried look on their face.

“No! If I don’t kill them, you’ll be in danger!” Barbara Ann shouted.

“You don’t think that they’ll let you off!” Boney said with an angry look on her face.

“Yes, they will! After all, I am a rock human!” Barbara Ann said. Everyone gasped.

“What!” Josuke yelled out. Soft & Wet appeared behind him. “Stop right there, lady!” He said. A soap bubble shot out of Soft & Wet’s hand and toward Barbara Ann.

“No! Stop!” Hoel shouted out.

When the bubble was inches away from her face, Barbara Ann’s body contorted and twisted away from the bubble. This caused the soap bubble to pass by Barbara Ann.

“This is my mother’s stand!” Little Saint Nick thought to themselves as they dodged out of the way. They landed on the butt. Their hands clenched into fists.

“If you wanna be that way…” Boney said as she stood in front of Josuke. “Dancing Queen!” Boney shouted out.

Chapter 19: Volume 4, Chapter 13: Twist and Shout

Chapter Text

“Dancing Queen!” Boney shouted as Dancing Queen charged at Barbara Ann. Dancing Queen threw a fist at the woman’s face. Barbara Ann’s face contorted away from Dancing Queen’s fists.

“My stand is called Twist and Shout!” Barbara Ann exclaimed as Boney stood there with her mouth agape. “It lets me twist any part of my body!” Barbara Ann continued. She grabbed for Boney’s neck. Boney scowled and dived out of the way. Dancing Queen turned around and grabbed Barbara Ann by the back of her neck.

“No! Stop!” Little Saint Nick yelled out. They moved toward the stand and their mom. “Stop! Please!” They shouted again.

Boney looked back at the child. This let Barbara Ann elbow Boney in the stomach. Boney collapsed onto her knees as she tried to get air in her lungs.

“Surfin’ U.S.A.!” Little Saint Nick exclaimed. Surfin’ U.S.A. jumped into the ground and traveled toward Boney. The stand grabbed the woman and pulled her into the ground.

“Nick! What the hell are you doing?” Barbara Ann asked as she turned towards her child. She saw Surfin’ U.S.A. and Boney resurface.

“You need to rethink this! With this group with us, we can defeat this organization!” Little Saint Nick said as they helped Boney up to her feet.

“The kid is right,” Josuke said. Barbara Ann turned toward the man as Hoel nodded. Barbara Ann’s hands clenched into fists.

“I…guess you are correct,” Barbara Ann relented. “But what do we do now? Unless you know who the leader of the Locacaca Organization is, we’re all kinda screwed,” She said as she seated herself on the sandy beach.

“I thought you would know,” Boney said as she got up.

“Nope,” Barbara Ann said with a pop of her “p.” “I’m just as clueless as the rest of you. If anybody tried to get info on her identity, they would have died.”

“Maybe this can help,” Josuke said as he reached into his pocket. Everybody turned toward him as he pulled out the disk.

Chapter 20: Volume 4, Chapter 14: Head Doctor Farrah Fawcett

Chapter Text

A woman stalked around her office. The office was small. The walls and ceiling were pure white. A wooden desk was in front of a large window overlooking the rest of Malibu. Degrees littered the wall of the office. They each had the same name on them. That name was Farrah Fawcett.

The owner of that name was an average-height woman with tan skin. She had blond hair made into a bun. She wore glasses over her green eyes. She wore a white buttoned-up suit and white dress pants, and black shoes. She wore a red tie and red gloves on each hand.

“Dammit!” She hissed out as she slammed her hand against her desk. “How could everything go so wrong! Fate was shining on me for years until Tooru had to get himself killed! And now that bastard is fucking up everything!” She continued to mutter under her breath. Just then, her door opened, and a man wearing a red suit entered.

“Head Doctor. Mrs. Crystal Engelwood is here to see you,” The man said.

“Let her in,” Fawcett said to the man. Her back was toward the man. The man nodded and retreated. Once he left, a young woman entered the room. She had long reddish-blond hair and brown eyes, and she wore a pink suit, pink pencil skirt, and black high heels.

“Mrs. Engelwood,” Fawcett said as she turned around—a tight smile on her face. “What can I do for the founder of EngelwoodHospital’s daughter,” She asked the young woman.

“I came to ask about that Locacaca project you wanted to showcase later this week,” Crystal said as she sat down. “How is it going?”

“It’s going great! We have an extra supply of the fruit, and nobody even knows of this hospital’s secret,” Fawcett said as her hands tightened into fists.

“Good. Good.” Crystal said as she lounged in her seat. “We’re gonna be so rich!” Crystal said with a greedy look in her eyes.

“Yes, we are,” Fawcett said as she walked behind Engelwood. “Thank god I don’t need you anymore,” Farrah Fawcett siad with a grin.

“Huh?” Crystal said as she turned towards the doctor.

“Safe and Sound!” Farrah shouted. A hand swiped across Crystal Engelwood’s neck. The young woman let out a pained gasp before her head fell to the floor. Her headless body slumped in her seat.

Farrah Fawcett looked at the body for a moment before yelling, “Jeffery! We need another body bag!”

Chapter 21: Volume 4, Chapter 15: What is on the Disc?

Chapter Text

The group of five was inside the lighthouse. Barbara Ann had rolled in an antique T.V. on a cart.

“This disk should contain enough information about our enemy,” Josuke said as he walked across the room to the T.V.

Hoel sat on a small chair that Barbara Ann brought in. Boney was behind the chair and leaning against a wall. Little Saint Nick was sitting on the floor. Barbara Ann was next to the T.V. Hoel looked around the room. Hoel gasped as he saw a flash of something in a corner of the room.

“Wait!” Hoel shouted out. Josuke stopped. Everybody turned toward Hoel. “There is somebody else here!” Hoel said as he got up and looked around the room. Dead Weight appeared behind him.

“Fuck,” Josuke muttered as Soft & Wet appeared. Little Saint Nick got up as Surfin’ U.S.A. also appeared. Barbara Ann frowned. Boney also summonded her stand.

“I saw it in one of these corners!” Hoel explained. Just than a small black furry creature ran out the shadows.

“A rat?” Josuke asked himself. He was about to put away his stand when the rat jumped and snatched the disc from his hands.

“What the hell!” Hoel shouted. “Dead Weight!” Hoel exclaimed as his stand rushed toward the rat. “Stop that rat! Increase the preasure!” Hoel shouted. The rat was slammed into the ground. It let out a squeak as the disc flew from its mouth.

“Another stand?” Boney asked as Dancing Queen servyaed the room. “I can’t see any weird electricty,” Boney said.

“Look!” Little Saint Nick shouted as five more black rats appeared from the shadows. “Surfin’ U.S.A. grab that disc!” They exclaimed. Surfin’ U.S.A. went into the ground and traveled to the disc. “My stand is much faster when inside an object. This should be easy!” They thought to themselves.

Surfin’ U.S.A. neared the disc. “I got it!” Little Saint Nick shouted as Surfin’ U.S.A.’s gand shot out the ground the grab the disc. Just as its hand touched the disc, more rats appeared from the shadows near the disc.

“No!” Hoel shouted as a rat grabbed the disc and flung itself near the door. “Dead Weight!” Hoel shouted as Barbara Ann ran towards the rat. The rat threw the disc under the crack of the door.

“What the hell!” Barbara Ann shouted in shock. Her arm twisted itself into a small enough shape to get underneath the door. Just as her fingers touched the disc, it was ripped up from the ground by a human hand. Barbara Ann retracted her hand.

Josuke growled and charged toward the door. He opened the door to see a young woman running up the beach. She tripped and fell onto her face. Josuke ran out the door with everyone else following him. Just as he neared, a rat grabbed the disc and ran across the road.

“These damn rats!” Hoel shouted as he charged up the sandy hill and onto the road. Boney, Barbara Ann, and Little Saint Nick followed him. Josuke stayed back and looked at the woman.

“Hah! You’ll never get that disc back!” The woman shouted as she staggered to her feet. “Tracy Jacks already has the disc!” She cried as she pointed toward the street corner where her rat stopped. A small nervous man grabbed the disc from its mouth, turned around, and ran down the street.

“After him!” Hoel shouted as he started to speed up. Everybody except Josuke followed him.

“Hah!” The woman shouted. She was about to step before a punch landed on her cheek. “Agh!” The woman shouted out in pain. She fell on her back. She looked up to see Josuke standing above her with a glare pointed at her. Soft & Wet was behind him.

“Rät!” The woman shouted out as she pointed behind Josuke. Josuke looked towards where the woman was pointing and gasped. Out of the shadow that Josuke projected, three rats climbed out.

Josuke growled and Soft & Wet batted the rats away. Once they were not touching the shadows, they disolved.

“Fuck!” The woman yelled out. Josuke turned back to the woman. Before she could speak again, Soft & Wet slammed its fist in her face.

“Agh!” She yelped out. Her head flew back and hit the ground as blood gushed out her nose. Josuke stalked toward the downed woman.

“W-Wait!” The woman said as she held up her hands. “P-Please! We can strike a de-” She continued before being cut off by Soft & Wet slamming another fist in her face. More blood gushed out her nose.

“Agh! Fuck! You’re a real prick!” The woman said as she held her bloody nose.

Josuek cracked his knuckes as Soft & Wet did the same. The woman’s eyes widened. She was about to say something before being interrupted by Soft & Wet’s fists.

ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! The woman let out a grunt of pain before being sent flying and hitting the sandy beach.

“Now time to catch up with the others,” Josuke sighed before leaving the beach.

Chapter 26: Volume 5, Chapter 18: Karma Police and Charmless Man (part 1)

Chapter Text

Little Saint Nick panted as they ran. They took up the rear of the group. Their mom was in front of them, with Hoel and Boney in front of her.

“Stop!” Hoel shouted out to the nervous man who had the disc in his hands. The man turned left at the street corner. Hoel and Boney followed, with Barbara Ann right behind them. Just as Little Saint Nick was about to turn with the rest, a man collided with them.

“Agh!” Little Saint Nick yelped as they landed on the ground. They looked up to see a man. The man was tall. He wore a green army helmet on his head, black sunglasses, and lipstick. He wore a black skin-tight shirt with a hole in the bottom middle that showed off his abs. The shirt was also cut off at the man’s armpits, exposing his arms to the air. He wore a green fabric covering the man’s neck and shoulders. He also wore blue shorts, black fishnet stockings, and red boots.

“Hey, kid! Watch where you’re going!” The man said with a glare on his face.

“S-Sorry, sir…” Little Saint Nick said as they got onto their feet. “I didn’t mean to do anything…” The kid said as they shuffled past the man.

“Whatever…” The man said with a shrug of his shoulders. He went the opposite way to Little Saint Nick. Little Saint Nick looked down the street to see their mother turning down another corner.

“How will I catch up?” They thought as they started to run down the street. When they caught up to the corner, a police siren reached their ears. They turned around.

“Where did that come from?” They asked themselves as they looked around. Just then, a bullet pierced Little Saint Nick’s arm.

“Agh!” The kid yelped as they saw a toy police car speed up the street toward them. An arm extended out the window. The toy person held a miniature pistol in their hand.

Chapter 27: Volume 5, Chapter 19: Karma Police and Charmless Man (part 2)

Chapter Text

“W-What the!” Little Saint Nick yelled out as they held their damaged arm. “Is this another stand attack!” They shouted. They looked at the small police car as the hand clenched the trigger, and a bullet flew out of the gun and toward Little Saint Nick.

“No!” They shouted as they dodged out of the way. The bullet went through the space the kid once occupied. It pierced through a nearby wall. Little Saint Nick quickly got up and ran down the closest alleyway. Sirens followed them as they neared the dead end of the alleyway. Little Saint Nick turned to see two more police cars joining the one chasing them.

“You’re trapped!” A voice from one of the police cars said.

“Yeah! So give up!” Another car spoke up. The last vehicle stayed silent and aimed the pistol at Little Saint Nick.

Little Saint Nick frowned and shouted out, “Sufin’ U.S.A.!” Surfin’ U.S.A. appeared behind Little Saint Nick. It grabbed them and doved into the wall.

“Hey!” The first police car shouted.

“No cheating!” The second one spoke up too. The third sped up and rammed the wall. Surprisingly, the car started to drive up the wall.

As Surfin’ U.S.A. quickly came out of a nearby wall and reached for the lock of a window on the building. The police cars aimed their guns at the stand and fired. All three shots pierced the stand’s arm. Surfin’ U.S.A. quickly retreated their arm and submerged themselves into the ground.

“Get the dogs out!” The police car on the wall spoke up for the first time.

“Yes, sir!” The other two police cars said. Their back doors opened, and two toy police dogs jumped out of the back of each vehicle. The four dogs immediately sniffed and barked at the alleyway corner.

“Crap…” Little Saint Nick thought to themselves from inside the ground.

“What the hell!” Barbara Ann said out loud when she looked back.

“What?” Hoel asked as they continued running.

“Little Saint Nick is gone. I’m going back to look for him,” Barbara Ann said. Boney and Hoel’s eyes widened before Hoel nodded.

“Make sure to catch up with us,” Hoel said as they continued to chase the man.

Barbara Ann stopped and said, “Will due!” She then turned around and went the other way to Hoel and Boney.

Hoel turned back toward the man they were chasing. The man was short and was shaking as he held the disc in his arms. He wore a hat that covered the top half of his hair. Some hair escaped that hat and ran down to the man’s cheeks. He also wore a shirt with white buttons down the middle. This shirt ended at the man’s armpits. He wore a belt, and shorts with one leg longer than the other. He also wore a boot on his left leg and a dress shoe on his right leg. Hoel’s eyes narrowed as he sped up.

“Wait for me,” Boney said as she kept up with Hoel.

***

“What do I do?” Little Saint Nick asked themselves. “This stand knows my every move. It would be useless to attack any of these toys. It wouldn’t even damage the user, as this seems to be a swarm-type stand. I need to find the user, but how can I do that…” Little Saint Nick thought as they scratched their chin.

“Come out of here, brat!” A police car said. “We have you surrounded! So come on out, and we won’t kill you too painfully!” The car continued.

“Wait…” Little Saint Nick muttered to themselves. “That voice… it sounds just like the voice of that guy I bumped into. This all started when I bumped into him!” Nick thought to themselves.

“He shouldn’t be too far away!” Little Saint Nick said out loud as Surfin’ U.S.A. grabbed them and started to carry them through the ground toward their target.

“That brat is going toward our user!” A car said. The police dogs jumped back into the back of their vehicles.

“Get them!” The third car said before all three cars surged to meet their target.

“I’m almost there!” Little Saint Nick thought as they neared the user. Surfin’ U.S.A. and Little Saint Nick shot out of the ground and in front of the user.

The man stumbled back and landed on his ass. “What the fuck! How are you not dead yet!” He shouted out as he got up. Little Saint Nick glared at the man.

The man and the kid stared at each other before the man shrugged his shoulders and shouted out, “Karma Police!” Little Saint Nick gasped as two small toy helicopters appeared behind the man’s head.

The helicopters flew straight at the kid. “Those blades are going to rip straight through me!” Little Saint Nick thought as they dodged out the way.

“Surfin’ U.S.A.!” They shouted as Surfin’ U.S.A. grabbed them and pulled them into the ground. Just as they did this, the toy police cars appeared.

“Bring out your dogs!” The user shouted out the police cars before the police dogs jumped out. Before the user could say anything else, Little Saint Nick’s fist shot out of the ground and toward the man’s crotch.

“Ah!” The man screamed as the kid punched him straight in the groin. The man collapsed to the ground in pain.

“Heh,” Little Saint Nick chuckled as their stand and them climbed out the ground. “You sure are an idiot!” They mocked the man before Surfin’ U.S.A. reared back its fists and sent then flying into the man’s skull.

“Agh!” The man shouted out in pain as Surfin’ U.S.A. hit the man with its final punch. The man flew backwards and onto his back. As he collided with the ground, his head exploded into rocks.

Little Saint Nick sighed as they clutched their hurt arm. They collapsed onto the ground just as Barbara Ann ran around the corner.

“Nick!” She shouted as she ran toward her child.

Chapter 31: Volume 6, Chapter 22: Karma Police and Charmless Man (part 5)

Chapter Text

“Get back!” Tracy Jacks shouted out as Hoel and Boney chased him.

“I’m almost close enough to use Dead Weight on him,” Hoel thought as he tried to speed up.

Tracy Jacks grimaced. He looked forward and gasped at the size of the crowd before him. He wouldn’t be able to get through the group without using his stand ability. Tracy Jacks gritted his teeth before shouting, “Charmless Man!”

A figure appeared behind Tracy Jacks. It was tall and had blue skin. Yellow lines crossed cross along its skin. A yellow “B” was on the stand’s chest and the side of the stand’s shoes. A small slit was on the stand’s stomach. A small noise came from the slit on the stand’s abdomen before a dollar bill popped out. Tracy Jacks grabbed the bill and threw it at the crowd.

“This is the guy’s stand?” Hoel asked as his eyes widened. Boney’s eyes also widened.

“Don’t touch that dollar bill!” She shouted. Hoel glanced at her. “It might be a part of the stand’s ability!” She explained.

A person in the crowd noticed the dollar bill floating toward the ground. The man gently picked it out of the air. The man looked up toward the roof of the building he was standing next to. “Did someone drop it from there?” He asked himself. Just then, his eyes grew cold before he started to walk toward the group. The dollar bill dropped from his hand.

“Daddy? Where are you going?” The man’s daughter asked as she clutched her teddy bear. She saw the dollar bill on the floor. “Daddy had this in his hand….” She said as she bent down and picked it up. Just like her father, her eyes turned to a void of emotion before she clambered after her father. The dollar bill slipped from her hand.

“Hey! Get back!” Boney shouted as Tracy Jacks slipped in between the father and daughter. As she got near, the father grabbed her arm. “Hey! Get off of me!” Boney shouted as Dancing Queen appeared behind her. The stand slammed its fist in the man’s face. He tumbled to the ground with blood from his nose. Boney tried to run after Tracy Jacks but was stopped by the daughter grabbing her leg. Boney dropped to the ground.

“H-Hey!” Boney shouted out in surprise. “Kid, get off of me!” She said.

“Wait!” Hoel said. “Look!” He said as he pointed toward Tracy Jacks. Boney turned to see the man running toward an ambulance with the words “Engelwood Hospital” printed on the side.

“I have the disc!” The man shouted out as he neared the ambulance. The ambulance's back doors opened, and a man dressed in red appeared. Hoel and Boney gasped. That was the man who gave them their job.

“Jeffery! I have the disc!” Tracy Jacks repeated. Jeffery held out his hand. Tracy Jacks tossed the disc toward the man in red, who caught the disc.

Jeffery looked back and said, “Fleetwood Mac, get us out of here,”

Tracy Jacks gasped, “W-What the hell! What about me!”

Jeffery shrugged as he pulled out a silenced pistol from his jacket. Hoel and Boney’s eyes widened as the man spoke, “Your usefulness has been used up, Tracy Jacks….”

“N-No!” Tracy Jacks yelled. He made to turn around as the man pulled the trigger. Bullets entered Tracy Jacks head. His head exploded into small chunks of rock. The man fell onto the ground as his body and stand crumbled into pieces.

“What the hell!” Hoel exclaimed as Jeffery shut the back doors, and the ambulance sped off. The daughter, who was grabbing onto Boney’s leg, dropped to the floor next to her father.

Hoel jogged up next to Boney and helped her up. Boney wiped off any dust on her clothes. “At least we know where our enemies are,” Boney said.

Hoel nodded, “Yep. Engelwood Hospital. Our enemies are at Engelwood Hospital…”

Chapter Text

“So, this is Engelwood Hospital,” Hoel said as he leaned back on the bench. All five were seated near a bench on the sidewalk across from Engelwood Hospital. The hospital looked average. It had white wall and was about eight stories.

“Yep,” Josuke said as he stood up. “Our enemies are based here. Remember to be close to each other. I have experience in this kind of thing,” Josuke continued. Hoel rolled his eyes as he stood up as well.

“Let's get in before some enemy notices us,” Barbara Ann said. The others nodded. The five of them walked across the street toward the hospital. Once they got into the hospital, a car started outside. An ambulance drove out to the front of the hospital. The radio clicked on.

“So. They’re here,” Farrah Fawcett’s voice floated from the radio. “Fleetwood Mac. You know what to do…” She said before the radio shut off. The ambulance sat there before the radio turned on again. Fleetwood Mac had to warn the others in the building about the group that just entered the hospital.

“This is it,” A woman said as he walked out an alleyway. She had long pink hair that went down to her shoulder. The ends were tied into pigtails. She wore a light blue colored sleeveless top that showed off her stomach and a black skirt with roses covering parts of the dress. She looked to be about thirty years old.

“This is where Josuke is…” The woman continued. “Josule will be in danger in there! I need to warn him!” The woman said as she walked to the other side of the street. Her phone was tightly clenched in her hand. She walked past an ambulance.

“I wouldn’t have been able to find him at this hospital without you, Paisley Park….”

Chapter Text

As Yasuho Hirose made her way past an ambulance toward the front door of Engelwood Hospital, her phone buzzed. She then quickly pulled her phone out of her pocket.

Yasuho said as she opened up her phone.

A white screen was on her phone. The words, “Choose one!”

were printed across the top of the screen while two images were shown. The first was a ladder, and the second image was a banana peel.

“Am I being attacked?” Yasuho asked herself. “Is that why I’m being given a choice now?” She thought as she clicked on the ladder. The screen disappeared, and a pink feminine stand appeared before Yasuho. The stand had pink skin with road map symbols across the stand’s body. In its hand was a ladder. Yasuho gratefully took the ladder from her stand. Just as she did this, she heard a car start behind her.

Yasuho turned to see the ambulance she just passed and started backing up until it was facing Yasuho Her eyes widened.

“This can’t be! The driver’s seat is empty!” Yasuho shouted as she pointed at the driver’s seat of the ambulance, which was empty. The car rumbled and started to accelerate toward Yasuho. Yasuho dodged out of the way of the speeding vehicle and landed on her side.

She picked herself up as her phone buzzed again. She looked at the screen to see that Google Maps was open.

“Go forward,” The G.P.S. said as Google Maps showed a path back to the alleyway Yasuho was once in. Yasuho looked back to see the ambulance was already turning back toward her. Yasuho ran toward the alleyway with her phone in one hand and her ladder in the other hand.

The ambulance honked its horn as it fully turned around. The ambulance’s sirens turned on as it chased after Yasuho.

Yasuho ran into the alleyway. She grinned as she clutched onto the ladder Paisley Park gave her. She turned around as the ambulance crashed into the entrance of the alleyway. It was too big to fit inside the alleyway.

“Ha!” Yasuho shouted out. “This stand is too big to fit!” She said as he put the ladder next to an open window. “I’ll use the ladder to escape!” She thought as she started to climb.

Yasuho’s climbing was interrupted by the sound of crushing metal. She glanced at the mouth of the alleyway and gasped. The ambulance was contorting itself into a new shape. Yasuho watched, transfixed, as the stand transformed into a small bicycle. The bicycle sped toward Yasuho. Yasuho gasped and started climbing. She just grabbed onto the windowsill as the bike crashed into the ladder and ripped the ladder apart.

Yasuho gasped as the bicycle kept on moving until it hit a dumpster. The bike turned around and started toward the wall where Yasuho hung from. Yasuho quickly ascended from the windowsill into the empty apartment on the other side.

“Turn right, then move forward,” The G.P.S. said from Yasuho’s phone. Yasuho followed the order and turned right, and started down the hallway. As she did this, the bicycle ran into the wall and started to drive up the wall, and it crashed through the window, spewing glass onto the floor. Yasuho gasped and continued moving forward through the hallway until she came across the end of the hallway.

“Move up,” The G.P.S. said. Yasuho looked up to see an attic hatch. She quickly pulled the lever, and the hatch went down, with the ladder landing on the floor. Yasuho promptly sped up the attic ladder as the bicycle ran past her and into the wall.

“Go down,” The G.P.S said. Yasuho looked at the bicycle to see it was stuck in the wall.

“Choose one,” the phone buzzed. Yasuho looked at the screen to see her two options. One was a bat, and the other was a window. Yasuho chose the bat. Paisley Park appeared before Yasuho with the bat in its hand.

“Paisley Park!” Yasuho said as Paisley Park charged the bicycle with the bat. It brought the bat over its head and down onto the bike.

The sound of crushed metal echoed throughout the small apartment as Paisley Park brought the bat down onto the bicycle repeatedly. With one last swing, the wrecked bike crashed through the wall and into the back of a dump truck as it passed by. The sign on the side of the dump truck read, “Heading toward incinerator.”

Yasuho sighed as she stood, and the bat disappeared. “Now, time to find Josuke….”

Chapter Text

Just as the five of them entered the hospital, a voice interrupted them.

“Josuke!” A feminine voice said. Josuke’s eyes widened as he saw Yasuho running up to him. Josuke quickly ran up to her and hugged her.

“Who is this?” Little Saint Nick asked with a raise of their eyebrows.

“This is my wife, Yasuho….” Josuke said as he kissed Yasuho on her cheek. She blushed and looked away.

“How did she find us?” Hoel asked as he narrowed his eyes at Yasuho.

“My stand Paisley Park can guide me to anything. Once I learned Josuke was in danger, I needed to do something….” Yasuho said as she held each elbow in her hands.

“Danger?” Boney asked.

“Yep,” Yasuho said matter of factly. “This whole mission is too dangerous!” She exclaimed. “And that danger started in this hospital!” She continued. Hoel gritted his teeth. He was about to say something before a potted plant crashed into his back.

“Agh!” Hoel shouted out as he collapsed. Everyone gasped and looked at Hoel.

“Hoel!” Josuke exclaimed. He wanted to grab and host Hoel, but Yasuho grabbed his shoulder.

“Look!” Yasuho said as she pointed at a corner of the building. Hoel looked back and saw the edge of a tail go around the corner.

“A cat?” Barbara Ann said with surprise in her voice. Hoel got to his feet and chased after the cat.

“Wait!” Barbara Ann said. Little Saint Nick chased after Hoel. Boney was about to chase after the two, but Barbara Ann put a hand on her shoulder.

“We need to split up,” Josuek said. “To cover more ground and to find who is responsible for this all!” Josuke continued. The others nodded. Boney and Barbara Ann went right and further down the hallway. Yasuho and Josuke glanced at each other before going left with their hands interlocked with eachothers.

“Get back here!” Hoel shouted as he rounded the corner. Little Saint Nick was right on his heels.

“H-Hoel!” Little Saint Nick said as they slowed down. Hoel kept speeding up. Soon the two were face to face with a wall.

“Where the hell is this cat!” Hoel exclaimed. Just then, another potted plant hit him in the face.

“Agh!” Hoel shouted out in pain as he turned to see where the potted plant came from. A black and white cat was lying on his stomach. It was seated in between a bench and the spot where the potted plant was.

Hoel growled and marched forward. As he did this, the cat raised a paw and touched a bag that was seated next to a bench. The pack started to rotate faster and faster.

“Look out, Hoel!” Little Saint Nick shouted out as Hoel stopped and stared at the bag. The bag rotated faster and faster until it shot toward Hoel.

“I can’t dodge this! It’s way too fast!” Hoel thought as Dead Weight appeared before him. It tried to swat the bag away, but when it touched it, it tore through the stand’s and Hoel’s skin.

“Agh!” Hoel yelped out as blood gushed from the wound on his right hand.

“Hoel!” Little Saint Nick shouted. They were about to summon their stand but a screw shot through their hand.

“Ngh!” Little Saint Nick gritted their teeth as they stared at the hole in their hand. “That little bastard used one of the screws from that bench!” They thought. They looked at the cat, who had a smug look on his muzzle.

“You little bastard!” Hoel exclaimed. Dead Weight pointed at the cat. “You’re lucky you’re outside my limited range! I also know you’ll shoot me with something if I take a step forward!” Hoel explained with a glare toward the cat, whose smug look increased.

Hoel smirked and said, “Thank god I don’t need to move a step….”

“What are you talking about?” Little Saint Nick asked Hoel. The cat had a confused look on his face. Just then, a look of understanding passed on his muzzle. He ran toward the bench again. His paw raised to touch a screw.

Hoel smirked. Dead Weight raised its fist and brought it backward. Little Saint Nick followed the stand’s fist and watched it impact a vending machine behind it. Little Saint Nick’s eyes widened as a bottle of cola flew out of the vending machine, which the stand grabbed. It grasped the soda around the bottle’s neck. Dead Weight pointed the cola at the cat.

“Pressure…” Hoel said as the bottle shook. “…is a wonderful thing!” He finished as the bottle’s cap shot the soda and hit the cat’s side. Blood shot out of the cat’s wound and mouth as he impacted the wall. The cat slumped onto the floor. Little Saint Nick winced.

“What do we do know,” They asked Hoel. Hoel looked at the cat before picking him up.

“Do you know…” Hoel said as he cradled the cat in his arms. “That this hospital also has a vet inside it!” Hoel said with a smirk.

“Really!” Little Saint Nick said with a grin. Hoel nodded.

“Let's get that cat to this vet before we message Josuke,” Hoel said as he started to walk back down the hallway. Little Saint Nick followed him.

Once the two rounded the corner back to the lobby, a hand crawled through the vent and into the hallway. Soon a whole body traveled through the small vent opening.

“They defeated Stray Cat Strut, Head Doctor….” The figure said into a radio. A sigh was heard on the other end.

“You know what to do, Cotten Eye Joe….” Farrah Fawcett said on the other side. “Take out Josuke and Yauho…”

“Yes, Ma’am…” The figure said.

Chapter 42: Volume 8, Chapter 29: Cotton Eye Joe (part 1)

Chapter Text

Josuke and Yasuho moved down the hallway. They peaked into any open rooms as they could. Just as they got to the end of the hallway, a figure appeared from a vent in the wall.

It was tall and mechanical. It had long flowing hair and a long-brimmed hat. It also wore cowboy boots that stretched toward its mechanical knees. It had one eye with two vertical lines and another eye was that was large and pitch white. It was smiling a cruel smile.

Josuke quickly blocked Yasuho with his arm. Soft & Wet appeared behind him. Yausho stared at the stand in front of them.

“Hey, Hey!” The stand raised its hands in surrender. “I mean no harm!” The stand said. “So turn off your stand!” The stand continued.

“Who are you?” Josuke asked. Josuke didn’t turn off his stand. Soft & Wet looked ready to shoot a soap bottle at any time.

“My name is Cotton Eye Joe,” Cotton Eye Joe said with a smirk. “And I will tell you everything you need to know about the boss,” It said with a wider smile.

“Huh?” Yasuho made a confused sound as she took a step back.

“You will?” Josuke asked.

“Yep! I’m a stand of my word!” Cotton Eye Joe said with a small bow. “But you have to do something first!”

Josuke stayed silent for a moment before Soft & Wet disappeared. “Fine. What do you want us to do?” He asked with a raise of his brow.

“Heh, heh!” The stand laughed before jumping onto the nearest bench. It landed on top of the bench in a crouch. “You have to answer three riddles! If you get at least one right, I will tell you everything you need to know!” The stand said with a chuckle.

“Fine,” Josuke said. “What is your first riddle?” He asked.

“Here is my first riddle,” Cotton Eye Joe said as it leaned forward. “I have no mouth, but I still speak. I have no ears, but I still hear, and I have no body, but I come alive with the wind. What am I?”

Josuke stood their. Yasuho stepped froward. Josuke’s eyes widened. He grasped her arm.

“What are you doing?” He asked in a paniked tone. “We have to discusse this!” He said.

“I think I have a pretty good guess…” Yasuho said with a small smile. “Plus if I do get it wrong, we still have two other riddles to succed at!” She said.

“I guess you’re right,” Josuke said as he slowly let go of her arm and backed up.

Yasuho stepped forward and was about to say something but she was interuppted. Josuek and Yasuho turned around as they heard footsteps from around the corner. Just than Little Saint Nick and Hoel turned around the corner and ran up to Yasuho and Josuke.

“Josuke! Yasuho!” Little Saint Nick said as they neared.

“A stand!” Hoel shouted out in suprise as he saw Cotton Eye Joe. Dead Weight appeared behind him. Little Saint Nick’s eyes widened behind their goggles. Surfin’ U.S.A. appeared next to them

“Stay back!” Josuke said. “This stand will tell us everything we need to know if we slove three riddles!” He said as he held out his arm in front if the two. Little Saint Nick and Hoel glanced at eachother before their stands disappeared.

Yasuho glanced back at thre three before turning back to Cotton Eye Joe. The stand had a massive grin on its face.

“So. What is your answer, Ma’am?” Cotton Eye Joe asked.

“Is the answer sound?” Yasuho asked as she leaned back.

Cotton Eye Joe smirked. “No…” It said. Yasuho gasped. Josuke gritted his teeth.

“Now…” Cotton Eye Joe said. Everyone looked at the stand. “It is time for the repercusions!”

“Huh?” Yasuho said with a confused look before Cotton Eye Joe charged forward and grasped Yasuho by her neck. A white ghost form of Yasuho was pulled out of her stomach. Yasuho collapsed to the ground.

“Yasuho!” Josuke yelled out.

“This is her soul…” Cotton Eye Joe said as it held the soul up be her neck. With a swish of its wrist, the soul transformed into a sphere. “Now on to the second riddle!”

The stand put up it hands in surrender. “S-Stop! I-I’ll tell you anything!”

Josuke gritted his teeth. Soft & Wet grabbed Cotton Eye Joe by its neck and brought it up to Josuke’s face. “Who is your boss?” Josuke spat out the question.

“T-The Head Doctor! The boss is the head doctor!” Cotton Eye Joe said. Josuke nodded.

“Now will you let me go?” Cotton Eye Joe asked. Josuke smirked and dilvered a punch straight to the stand’s face. Cotton Eye Joe’s face crumbled into pieces. The stand collapsed and crumbled into small pieces.

“So what are we even looking for?” Boney asked Barbara Ann.

“Any kind of clue to the boss’s identity….” Barbara Ann said as she walked past a woman. Barbara Ann glanced back at the woman. She had tan skin and blond hair tied in a bun.

Just as she glanced back at the woman, a man approached the doctor. Barbara Ann’s eyes widened as she saw the man was wearing a red suit. Barbara Ann grasped Boney’s arm and turned her around. Her eyes widened too.

“Jeffery…” The doctor said as she glanced at the man.

“Head Doctor. The auditorium is ready for you, Doctor Fawcett,” Jeffery said with a small bow.

“That is good. The locacaca will be a great success,” Farrah Fawcett said with a small grin. She started to walk down the hallway, but at the end, she stopped and glanced back. A small smile on her face was directed at Barbara Ann and Boney. Boney made to start running, but Barbara Ann stopped her. Boney looked back at the woman with a raised eyebrow.

“We don’t have enough information on their stands,” Barbara Ann whispered as Jeffery and the Head Doctor left the hallway.

“This was a taunt..” Boney said with gritted teeth. “We need to tell the others!” She exclaimed. She was about to leave the hallway when a laser pierced her leg.

“Agh!” Boney gritted her teeth in pain. She fell to the ground.

“Boney!” Barbara Ann shouted. She turned toward where the laser came from and saw a small blue saucer spaceship floating in mid-air. Barbara Ann instinctively stepped back. A laser shot out of the top of the flying saucer and hit Barbara Ann in both of her legs.

“Agh!” Barbara Ann shouted out in pain as she collapsed.

“Hey! Are you two alright?” A man asked as he stepped into the hallway. The man

“Get back!” Boney shouted. The man turned his head toward Boney. Two lasers shot out the stand and hit the man in his leg and shot straight through the man’s head. A hole was now drilled through the man’s head as he slumped to the ground.

“M-Movemen!” Barbara Ann shouted. Boneg glanced at her. “It tracks movement! It only shot the man in the head because he moved it! Stay still, Boney!” Barabara Ann said with a grimmice as blood leaked out of her wounds and covered the floor.

“Where does that leave us now?” Boney asked.

“I’ll need to distract it! I can eaisly move quick enough to dodge the lasers while you try and destroy it!” Barbara Ann said.

“W-What!” Boney shouted out in confusion. “What if you die?” She asked.

“Just do it!” Barbara Ann shouted back. Boney looked at the woman for a moment before nodding her head.

Barbara Ann quickly got up on wobboling legs. Space Oddity turned toward Barbara Ann. It shot a laser at her legs but Twist and Shout twisted her body away from the laser. Space Oddity kept shooting lasers at Barbara Ann as Boney snuck up on it.

“Dancing Queen!” She shouted. Dancing Queen appeared and wrapped her body around the stand. Electricty gathered in its hands before shooting off around the stand. The stand stopped shooting and fell to the floor. At the same time, a man flooped out of a closet.

Once the group ascended the stairs, they spotted a bizarre second floor. The hallways were covered in a black substance. This black covered the walls and any object it could find.

“W-What the hell is this!” Little Saint Nick shouted out in fear.

“I-Is this another stand attack?” Little Saint Nick asked Hoel. Hoel nodded.

“There are eight floors to this hospital,” Josuke said. “We need a way to get to the top,” Josuke continued.

“I can’t carry all of you,” Little Saint Nick said as they scratched the back of their head. “I don’t have enough energy to do all of you,” They continued. “Maybe if we were on the five floors, I could,” They said with a shrug.

“Then let’s get there!” Hoel said with a smirk before running down the hallway.

“Hoel!” Boney shouted as a hand made of the black liquid shot out of a nearby puddle and made for Hoel’s neck.

“Dead Weight!” Hoel shouted. The arm was flattened instantly. As he did this, another hand sprung from a puddle behind Hoel.

“Get back here, Hoel!” Josuke shouted out. Suddenly, a bucket of water was pushed into his hands.

“H-Huh?” He looked back to see Yasuho. Paisley Park was behind her.

“Here,” Yasuho said with a small smile. “Go help that idiot,” She continued. Josuke smiled and cradled the bucket in his hands. Josuke charged toward the black liquid. Just then, Hoel dodged out of the way of the arm. As he did this, he stepped into the puddle.

“No!” Boney shouted out as a hand grabbed Hoel’s leg. It started to pull Hoel down into the liquid.

“Dead Weight!” Hoel shouted out. Dead Weight reared back its fist and slammed it into the stand’s hand. The hand was blown off and the arm sunk back down into the ground.

“Who’s next?” Hoel asked the stand.

Chapter 51: Volume 9, Chapter 36: Paint It Black (part 2)

Chapter Text

“You’re good…” A voice said from inside the black liquid. A figure jumped out of the liquid. He was a tall man with short red hair with one strand of hair going down over his eye. He wore a tight-fitting black shirt with a white jacket over it. The back of the jacket read “Ruby Flash” He also wore black pants, a belt buckle, and white boots.

“You’re the user?” Hoel asked. Unbeknownst to him, hands stretched toward his ankles.

“Yes, I am!” Ruby Flash said with a small smirk. Josuke tried to run faster.

“Soft & Wet!” Josuke shouted. Soft & Wet appeared and shot a soap bubble at the water. “I’ll take the water from this bucket and use it on the creatures this bastard is making!” He thought as he used more and more soap bubbles on the water and sent them toward the hands behind Hoel.

“Die, you bastard!” Ruby Flash exclaimed as a figure made of a dark figure appeared before him. The stand charged toward the kneeling Hoel. As the stand charged, the arms behind Hoel reached for Hoel’s neck.

“Soft & Wet!” Josuek shouted. The soap bubbles hit the arms. This released the water on top of the arms. The arms fizzled up and disappeared.

“Fuck you!” The man shouted with a sick grin on his face. As his stand got closer to Hoel, Hoel shouted out something.

“Dead Weight!” Hoel yelled. The stand stopped and plunged onto the ground.

“No!” Ruby Flash yelled out. Dead Weight reared back its fist and smashed it into the man’s face. The man’s nose was broken with a sicking crunch. Blood gushed out of the man’s nose. Ruby Flash was knocked against the wall and then slumped to the floor.

“Yes!” Little Saint Nick yelled out. “You did it!” They shouted out to Hoel.

“You bastards! Did you think it would be that simple!” Ruby Flash said with a sick grin. Paint It Black appeared behind the man and grabbed a hold of him. “I’ll tell the boss where you are, and she’ll sick her stand on you!” He said with an even bigger smile.

“See you later, assholes!” He shouted as he sunk into the ground.

“No, you ain’t!” Little Saint Nick said as Surfin’ U.S.A. dived into the ground and ran toward the man. Its hand shot out of the earth and grabbed on to the man’s neck.

“You little bastard!” Ruby Flash spat out. Little Saint Nick just looked at the man before nodding. Surfin’ U.S.A. slammed its fist into the man’s face.

“Ah!” Ruby Flash screamed out before his face caved in. Rocks fell down to the floor as he crumbled into pieces. Soon he was only a pile of dust on the floor. Little Saint Nick looked at the fragments of rock before turning back to everyone.

“Let’s hurry! We don’t know what our enemies are doing!” Little Saint Nick said before running down the hallway. Everyone watched as they ran down the hallway. Hoel and Boney shrugged and followed the kid. Yasuho followed the three with Josuke in the back.

Jeffery watched as the Head Doctor walked up the stairs to the roof. He looked down to see a small glass container. The container had a small fruit inside of it. Jeffery smirked and bent down. He grabbed the glass container and slid it into his suit pocket. He looked one last time at the rooftop door before leaving toward the third floor.

“It is time to do my duty!” Jeffery thought to himself as he descended the stairs. “For our race to succeed, we must do this!” He thought.

“So this is the third floor!” Little Saint Nick said to themselves as the group ascended the second-floor stairs. “We’re closer to the fifth floor!” They continued. Yasuho nodded. Once the group was on the third floor, they looked down the long hallway.

“Is it just me, or is this hallway longer than the other hallways?” Hoel asked himself as they walked down the hallway.

“Yeah,” Yasuho said as she grabbed her phone from her pocket.

“Dancing Queen!” Boney shouted as her stand appeared. She gasped. “There is someone coming toward us right now!” She said as sweat pooled down her face.

“Soft & Wet!” Josuke shouted. His stand appeared behind him. Hoel and Little Saint Nick also summoned their stands. Yasuho’s grip on her phone tightened.

“They are coming around the corner right now!” Boney said with gritted teeth. The others tightened their stances.

“W-Wait…” Boney said with widened eyes. “They’ve moved! They’re back at the other end of the hallway!”

“H-Huh? What do you mean!” Hoel shouted out his question.

“I-It’s like they are in a loop! This person isn’t our stand user!” Boney said. Everyone’s eyes widened. “This is just a random person caught up in this!” Boney continued.

“We have to help them!” Little Saint Nick said as they stepped forward. “Surfin’ U.S.A.” They shouted out.

“Wait, Nick!” Josuke shouted but it was too late. Little Siant Nick was grabbed and pulled through the ground by his stand’s hand.

“Fuck!” Hoel shouted out before running toward the end of the hallway. “Nick!” He shouted as he rounded the corner.

Boney gasped. “Both of them have moved to the other end of the hallway! They’re stuck in the loop as well!” Boney exclaimed as she clutched her arms.

“Dammit!” Yasuho muttered under her breath as she activated Paisley Park.

***

“What the hell!” Hoel shouted out as he appeared at the other end of the hallway. Little Saint Nick was right beside him.

“Huh…” Little Saint Nick muttered. “I messed up,” They said with a wince.

“Look,” Hoel said as he pointed. A man wearing a doctor’s uniform was walking unsteadly toward the other end of the hallway.

“What the fuck is happening!” The man muttered to himself. It was loud enought for Little Saint Nick and Hoel to hear him. “I come to the end of a hallway and I come back at the start!” The man muttered once more. His grip on the wall tightened.

“Hey!” Little Saint Nick said as they ran after the man. “Don’t go to the end of the hallway! You’ll just end up back at the start!”

The man stopped at Little Saint Nick’s voice. He turned around to see two people at the end of the hallway. His grip loosened and he fell on to his knees.

“They’re other people trapped here…” He muttered.

“Hey!” Hoel shouted. “Get a grip, man! We’ll make it out of here!” He continued. Little Saint Nick rolled their eyes and lightly hit Hoel on his arm. Hoel chuckled.

“You don’t understand!” The man said. “We’re tra-”

“You’re trapped here,” A voice intterupted the man. Hoel and Little Saint Nick gasped. A figure appeared behind the doctor. It was small and had half pink and yellow skin. It had a white head with pitch white eyes, and a mouth full of white teeth. It had claws at the end of its hands.

“W-Who said that?” The man asked as he turned around.

“Don’t!” Hoel said as the man turned. Once he was fully turned around, the stand jumped and pierced the man’s neck. Blood gushed out of his wounds as he dropped to the floor dead.

“No!” Hoel shouted out as the man’s body slumped to the ground. The stand chuckled.

“Aw!” The stand mockingly said as it stalked toward Hoel. “Are you sad I killed him?” It asked with a raise of its arms. Hoel growled. Little Saint Nick grabbed Hoel’s shoulder.

“Surfin’ U.S.A.!” They shouted as their stand grabbed Hoel and pulled him into the ground. “Take Hoel straight to the stand!” They said as their stand ran threw the ground with Hoel in its arms.

“Take This!” Hoel shouted as Dead Weight shot out of the ground with its hand in a fist. Its fist collided with the stand’s face.

“Agh!” The stand shouted out in pain as it was punched down the hallway. “Damn! You sure are strong!” The stand muttered as it stood up.

Hoel glared at the stand as he climbed out of the ground. He stood next to Dead Weight with his back straight and his focus on Over and Over Again.

“Fuck you!” Hoel shouted as his stand reared back its fist. It shot its fist forward. Over and Over Again reached out and grabbed the fist.

“Heh! I got you!” The stand taunted just before a fist impacted its stomach.

“Agh!” Over and Over Again shouted out in pain as it slumped to its knees. It tried to pick itself up, but it slammed into the ground.

“Dead Weight,” Hoel muttered as his stand reared back its fists. “I’ll pound you into the ground, you fucker!” Hoel shouted as his stand’s fists neared Over and Over Again’s face.

“ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! With one last punch, Over and Over Again was slammed into the ground. As the stand crumbled, a crack formed in the ceiling, and the man in a red suit fell through the hole in the wall. As he fell, he crumbled into tiny pieces until he was just dusted on the floor.

[Jeffery]

[Status: Deceased]

“Fuck,” Hoel muttered as he turned to Little Saint Nick. As he did this, he saw Yasuho, Josuke, and Boney appeared at the end of the hallway.

“How did you guys get there?” Little Saint Nick asked with amazement.

“Oh, we just went around,” Yasuho said with a shrug.

Chapter 58: Volume 11, Chapter 41: Safe and Sound (part 1)

Chapter Text

“So. You have failed me, Jeffery,” Farrah Fawcett said as she leaned against the railing of the roof. “I didn’t want to do this, but this is the only way to win this encounter!” She said with a small smirk.

Then she muttered these words, “Safe and Sound, deal with these annoyances for me,”

***

“We’re now on the fourth floor! Be careful, everyone,” Hoel said as he walked onto the floor.

“We’re so close!” Little Saint Nick said with a small grin on their face. Josuke nodded while Boney and Yasuho grinned.

“Let’s do this then!” Boney said with a smirk as she walked forward. Just then, she gasped.

“Look!” She shouted. Everyone else steeled themselves.

A figure had walked around the corner. It was tall and slim, with no mouth or eyes. Its body had little stars dotted around its face, torso, upper parts of both arms, upper parts of both legs, hands, and feet. These small stars constantly moved forward and circled back around the surface of the stand. On its face, where its left eye would be, a large star stood static. The upper parts of the arms and legs were fine, but the lower parts were made of a thin metal. Lines went from top to bottom on these tubes.

“Another stand?” Hoel asked. “We’ve taken down the two people with who the head doctor was with! Could this be her stand?” He asked himself.

“Seems likely. Unless we missed one,” Josuke said.

Boney shook her head. “No! I sense no unusual people around. This has to be the Head Doctor’s stand!” Boney said as sweat dripped down her face.

The stand stood at the end of the hallway. It started to move forward. The stand didn’t walk; it strutted with full confidence in itself and its abilities. Hoel swallowed and moved.

Chapter 59: Volume 11, Chapter 42: Safe and Sound (part 2)

Chapter Text

“Hoel! What are you doing?” Little Saint Nick shouted as Hoel continued to move. “We don’t even know its ability yet!” They continued to speak.

“I’m testing something out,” Hoel said. “This stand seems way too confident, but it also seems lifeless! Like no body is controlling it,” Hoel said as he reached into his pocket.

“Huh?” Little Saint Nick made a noise in the back of their throat.

“I think I get it…” Josuke said. Yasuho, Boney, and Little Saint Nick turned toward the man. “He thinks the stand may be a remote stand!”

Boney gasped. “He might be right!” She said with panic in her voice. Everyone looked at her. “The head doctor is on the roof. She is way too far away for what seems to be a close-range type stand!” She continued.

Hoel smirked. The object he pulled out was a small piece of white porcelain. “Let’s test that then,” Hoel said with a smirk. “I took this piece from the ground we beat Jeffery into! Now I will use it to hit this stand from far away!” He said as Dead Weight appeared behind him. It grabbed the piece and positioned it on its finger, ready to flick at the stand at the end of the hallway.

“Hurry!” Yasuho shouted out. “The stand is coming closer!”

“Take this!” Hoel shouted out. Dead Weight flicked the piece at the stand. It surged forward at speeds a human would have trouble tracking. Just as the piece got near the stand, it raised its fist in front of its body, and the piece impacted the stand’s palm. Small cracks formed in its palm, but the rock still stopped dead and clattered to the ground.

“Fuck!” Boney shouted out. “That barely did anything!”

“No, it didn’t,” Hoel said with a smirk. “But all we have to do is stay out of its way!”

Chapter 60: Volume 11, Chapter 43: Safe and Sound (part 3)

Chapter Text

“You’re right, Hoel!” Josuke said as he stepped up next to Hoel. “That is why we will do anything in our power to get us past this stand and to the boss!” He said with a small smile toward Hoel.

Hoel’s eyes widened before they closed. Hoel stood there for a moment before opening his eyes up again. He returned the small smile Josuke gave him.

Josuke nodded and than shouted. “Soft & Wet!” The robotic stannd appeared behind its user. It shot a soap bubble at the area the stand was walking toward.

“I’ll remove the friction from the ground! This will stop it in its track!” Josuke said with a smirk. “Remote controlled stands usually only follow simple commands! This stand will be confused and trapped!” Josuke thought as the stand picked up its foot and was about to bring it down onto the area Soft & Wet hit.

Just as its foot was about to hit the area, it stopped. Everyone’s eyes widened. The stand retracted its foot and held up its hand clenched into a fist. It sharply turned right and punched its fist in the wall. The wall collasped leaving the room bare.

“Huh?” An old man in a hospital bef shouted out as he tried and failed to get up. “What the hell!” The stand walked past the man and toward another wall. It rasied its fist again.

“Oh no!” Little Saint Nick shouted. “We need to get out of here!” They shouted as the stand brought down the wall to the room that was on the left side of the old man’s room.

“Fuck!” Josuke shouted as he surged forward. “Soft & Wet! Give the friction back!” He shouted. Everyone followed the man. Safe and Sound turned toward the group as they ran past it. The stand ran toward them.

Chapter Text

“Fuck! It’s chasing us!” Boney shouted out as she saw the stand’s increase in speed.

“S-Soft & Wet! Take the friction away from the ground!” Josuke said as his stand shot another soap bubble at the ground. Safe and Sound jumped forward and grabbed onto the wall. Its fingers digging into the celling. It started to quickly climb through the celling toward the group.

“Dead Weight!” Hoel said as he stopped. Safe and Sound got into his range and immeditaly fell to the ground. Its impact caused the ground to crack.

“ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! ORA! With one final punch, Safe and Sound was sent through the floor. The stand collasped onto a nurse that was walking under neath it. This caused the woman to be crushed under neath its weight.

“Hurry!” Hoel said. “We don’t have much time!” Hoel said. Everyone nodded and turned toward the end of the hallway. Once the round the corner, Safe and Sound’s hand crashed through the floor. The stand crawled through the hole it made and into the fourth floor.

“Fuck!” Josuke shouted out in panic. He was the closet to the stand. He was about to move backward when Safe and Sound grabbed him by his throat.

“Josuke!” Yasuho shouted. She pulled out her phone, but Safe and Sound grabbed a piece of the floor and threw it at the phone. It connected and shattered the phone.

“No!” Everyone shouted. Little Saint Nickwas about to surge forward with his stand when Safe and Sound reared back its fist and punched through Josuke’s chest.

“No!” Hoel shouted out. Yasuho fainted.

Blood shot out of Josuke’s mouth. The hole in his chest also gushed blood.

Safe and Sound stepped back. Josuke stumbled before collapsing onto his back. Blood pooled around him.

“Josuke!” Hoel shouted as he ran toward the man. Dead Weight appeared and punched Safe and Sound. The stand flew backward and landed on the other side of the hallway.

“Josuke!” Hoel said as he picked up Josuke by his head and set him down on his legs. Tears dropped from his eyes and onto the man.

“Hoel…” Josuke muttered. “Please. Please take care of Yasuho, and tell my son…” Josuke was about to finish before his head dropped back. Blood dripped from his mouth.

“Josuke!” Hoel shouted. Josuke glanced at the teen.

“No matter what happens…” Josuke said with a small grin. Hoel picked up his head. “You will always be a Higashikata!” Josuke said as he grasped Hoel’s collar. His hand let go and dropped to his side. His eyes slowly closed.

[Josuke Higashikata]

[Status: Deceased]

Hoel stared at the corpse he held in his hands. He slowly let the body drop gently to the ground.

“Hoel…” Little Saint Nick muttered. Hoel looked back to see Boney and Little Saint Nick. Boney had Yasuho’s faint body in her hands. Tears ran down both of their faces.

“We’ll take Yasuho,” Boney said. “You better take care of this asshole!” Boney said before turning and running down the hallway. Little Saint Nick looked at Hoel momentarily before turning around and following Boney.

“I will…” Hoel muttered as he looked back at Safe and Sound. The stand was getting up from its position. It turned to face Hoel and started to walk toward the kneeling teen.

“After all,” Hoel said as he got up. He dusted the front of his clothes. He picked his head up with a glare. Tears ran down his cheek. “I am a Higashikata!”

“Dead Weight!” Hoel shouted. The arm that was about to hit Dead Weight’s face crashed toward the ground, bringing Safe and Sound to the ground as well.

“Fuck you, Bastard!” Hoel shouted out as Dead Weight’s fist clashed with the stand’s face. Safe and Sound flew back and collided with the wall.

“I know this won’t do anything to the user, but…” Hoel said as he walked over to the downed stand. “It feels good!” Hoel exclaimed.

“Dead Weight!” Hoel shouted in a raspy, guttural voice. Safe and Sound was slowly pushed into the wall. The stand’s face was now stuck in a wall formed into the wall.

Hoel stepped back. Dead Weight disappeared. Hoel started to run down the hallway and quickly climbed the steps up to the fiifth floor.

Chapter 65: Volume 12, Chapter 47: Safe and Sound (part 7)

Chapter Text

“I’m almost there!” Hoel said as he ran down the fifth floor. With each step, his eyes brimmed with salty tears.

“The stairs to the sixth floor!” Hoel shouted as he got to the steps. He was about to take a step onto the stairs when Safe and Sound crashed through the floor.

“Fuck!” Hoel shouted. Dead Weight grasped the fist that was about to collide with Hoel’s face. “Fuck off!” Hoel called as Dead Weight increased the pressure on Safe and Sound. Safe and Sound crashed onto the floor.

Hoel quickly turned to the stairs and promptly started to climb up the stairs as soon as he could. Safe and Sound promptly got up when Hoel reached the top. Safe and Sound attached to the wall and started to scurry along the wall as fast as it could.

“Fuck, this thing is scary!” Hoel said with a glare. Safe and Sound jumped off the wall and toward Hoel.

“You don’t learn, do you?” Hoel asked. “Dead Weight!” He shouted out loud. Safe and Sound quickly flew toward to ground. Dead Weight kicked the stand down the stairs. The stand flopped onto the floor of the fifth floor. Hoel promptly turned around and ran down the hallway.

“Excuse me!” Hoel said as he quickly moved out of the way of a man in a wheelchair being wheeling around by a nurse.

“Watch where you’re going!” The nurse shouted out as Safe and Sound scuttled past them on the wall.

“Sorry!” Hoel shouted out as he rounded the corner. He dodged out of the way of more people. Just as he rounded another corner, a door opened, and he crashed straight into it.

“Agh!” Hoel shouted out as he fell onto his ass. “No!” He shouted out as he tried to get up. Safe and Sound’s hand grasped around Hoel’s neck.

Chapter 66: Volume 12, Chapter 48: Safe and Sound (part 8)

Chapter Text

“No!” Hoel shouted out as Safe and Sound’s grip tightened around his neck. He gasped for breath. Safe and Sound raised a fist in the air.

“Fuck…” Hoel thought. “This is where I die. I’m sorry, Josuke, and Yasuho, Nick, and Boney. I messed up….”

Hoel watched as Safe and Sound’s fist jetted toward his chest. His eyes widened as he saw a shape move in the dark corner of the hallway.

“No! It can’t be!” Hoel thought. Just then, small black mice ran out of the shadows and toward Safe and Sound. As its fist neared, a rat jumped and sunk its teeth into Safe and Sound’s heel.

The stand dropped Hoel onto his ass. It reached behind and swatted the rats away. More rats came out of the shadows and covered Safe and Sound.

“That’s what you get!” A feminine voice said as she rounded the corner. The woman was tall. A black beret covered the top of their long white hair. She wore a buttoned up white jacket with black mice running along the middle of the coat. She also wore a white penicl skirt and black highheels. “That is what you get for killing the person who spared me!” The woman shouted.

“Huh?” Hoel shouted out in confusion. This was the woman with the rats!

The woman turned toward Hoel. “My name is Lotta Tru!” She said as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a fruit.

“This is the Locacaca fruit! I snatched one fromthe Head Doctor’s office! Quickly!” Lotta said as a rat ran and grabbed the small fruit. It ran over to Hoel. Hoel quickly grabbed it.

“Josuke spared me when he had the chance to kill me!” Lotta said with a sneer. “I owed him my life! Get out of here and eat it! That fruit will allow you to defeat the Head Doctor!”

Hoel nodded. He craddled the Locacaca in his arms.

Chapter 67: Volume 12, Chapter 49: Safe and Sound (part 9)

Hoel turned around. With the Locacaca in his hands, he ran down the hallway.

Safe and Sound swatted away more rats. It surged forward and slammed Lotta’s face in the wall. Lotta slumped to the floor unconcious. Her rats disolved into nothing. Safe and Sound quickly ran after Hoel. Hoel looked back and saw Safe and Sound gaining on him.

“I need to eat it now!” Hoel thought. He quickly brought the Locacaca fruit to his lips and took a bite out of the fruit.

“Agh!” Hoel shouted out in pain. He slumped to the floor. He clutched his stomach. Safe and Sound walked up to the down man. It raised its hand and was ready to chop Hoel’s head off.

“Take this, Hoel Higashikata!” Safe and Sound thought as it brought its hand in a sideways swip. The hand neared Hoel’s neck.

“No,” Hoel said outloud. Safe and Sound stopped in its place. The stand tried to move its hand but it wouldn’t budge.

“Dead Weight applied enough preassure to stop the hand,” Hoel explaied as he got to his feet.

“I can feel it, you know?” Hoel asked Safe and Sound. Safe and Sound tried to wiggle. Tried to move its head but it stood still.

“I can feel power coursing through me!” Hoel said with a small grin. “All I have to do is touch it!” Hoel said as he quickly turned around. Dead Weight’s fist made contact with Safe and Sound’s head.

With one final punch, Dead Weight slammed Safe and Sound’s head into the ground with its fist. Safe and Sound let out a wail as its face cracked. The crack grew larged the more Dead Weight pressed Safe and Sound’s face into the floor. The ground cracked with the pressure.

“Sufer,” Hoel muttered as Dead Weight pushed one final time and Safe and Sound’s head exploded into pieces. The stand disovled. Hoel sighed and stepped back. He clutched his chest.

“This new ability will do wonders with the Head Doctor! Iw will call it Klahoma!” Hoel thought as he turned toward the steps to the seventh floor. “Let’s get this over with!”

Farrah Fawcett exaimed her nails. She was leaning against the roof’s railing.

“What the fuck is taking Safe and Sound so long!” She thought as she rested a hand against her head. She could feel a headache coming on.

“Dammit! If that bastard lost…” Farrah Fawcett muttered under her breath. Just as she said this, blood dripped down her nose.

“H-Huh?” She thought as she reached toward the blood. Her headache increased in pain. Her legs felt wobbly and she collapsed onto the floor.

“W-What the hell is happening!” The Head Doctor shouted out as she tried and failed to get up. Blood gushed out of the corners of her eyes.

“My ability…” a voice said from the rooftop’s door to the inside. The door creaked open and out stepped Hoel.

“Y-You bastard! W-What is this! This isn’t pressure!” Farrah Fawcett exclaimed.

“It isn’t,” Hoel said as he leaned over her body. “It’s atmosphere. It is all atmopshere!” He said with a small grin. “That Locacaca fruit gave me the ability to control the atmopshere!” He said.

“N-No…” Farrah Fawcett muttered. “You changed the atmopshere to one you would find higher up! You bastard!”

Hoel smirked and said two words, “Fuck you,”

Dead Weight appeared behind him and grabbed the Head Doctor by her neck. It reared back its fist and sent them flying.

Chapter 70: Volume 12, Chapter 51: End of a Journey

Chapter Text

Hoel leaned against the wall of a building. Boney, Lotta, Little Saint Nick, and Yasuho were standing next to him. The sounds of the dock echoed through out the sunny day.

“What is going to happen to Josuke?” Little Saint Nick asked Yasuho.

Yasuho sighed and wiped away her tears, “Our son is coming here to pick it up. A boat with him will be here in a few minutes. He will take it to Japan and have him buried there,” She said as she looked out to the sea.

Lotta looked around the dock. Two men walked past the group.

“Did you hear? The Head Doctor has been missing for a couple of days following that statement on that weird fruit!” One man said.

“Yeah. Did you know what was up with the damage to the hospital and some of the dead bodies found inside it were about?” The other man asked.

“Nope. The camera footage was completely wiped!” The first man said with a shrug.

“Freaky…” The other man muttered as the two walked off the dock and further into the city. Lotta sighed and turned to Hoel.

The teen was looking out to sea with an arm wrapped around Yasuho. Little Saint Nick and Boney were also comforting her.

“Look!” Boney shouted out. “The boat!” She said with a smile. A large boat was coming up the pier. Some people glanced at it before walking away. The group made their way down the pier and toward the boat. As passengers got off, Yasuho looked at each one. The last person stepped onto the pier. Yasuho smiled and wrapped him in a hug.

Hoel looked at the man. The man was tall and muscular. He looked to be in his twenties, and he had a full beard. He wore a long black coat and hat that covered his eyes, black pants, and a belt. The coat was decorated with downward-facing arrows around the middle of the coat. The sleeves had downward facing arrows on one side of the sleeves. The man’s belt buckle was an upward-facing arrow, and his hat had downward-facing arrows instead of the band. A black line waved through the brim of the hat.

The man turned to Hoel. Hoel could see that the man’s eyes were red. Tears collected at the edge of his eyes. “You must be Hoel,” The man said in a deep voice. “My name is Joey Joestar. We have many things to discuss.”
