Chapter Text
Yoon Youngjae walked to Hyosan High School with his boyfriend, Lee Suhyeok. He and Suhyeok have been in a relationship since their first year, and everyone has called them one of the cutest couples at school. But poor Suhyeok had to deal with Gwinam since he and Youngjae are brothers. Everyone questions if he and Gwinam are brothers, to which he answers yes since his mom gave birth to both of them, even though Gwinam is the oldest of the two. But unfortunately, their mom passed away after giving birth to them so it has been them and their dad for the past 16 years.
Gwinam is four minutes older than Youngjae, so he becomes protective of him since his younger brother has a bright personality and a cute smile showing his dimples. Suhyeok was scared of Gwinam whenever he glared at him, but he knew his friend was doing it to protect Youngjae. Two weeks later, Gwinam approved their relationship after witnessing how Suhyeok treats Youngjae like a prince and would do anything to keep him safe from Son Myeonghwan, Park Changhoon, and Kim Hyeonju who were known to bully innocent students at the school.
Back to the present, the couple made it to the school and went to their usual spot: a bench underneath a colossal tree by the soccer field before school started. Suhyeok put his hand on Youngjae's chin and tilted his head up to look at him, then gave him a quick peck on his lips. Poor Youngjae was blushing hard due to the sudden kiss; he was about to say something until the bell rang.
"See you in English class, Youngjae," Suhyeok quickly got up from the bench and ran to his class before Youngjae could react.
"HEY, GET BACK HERE, LEE SUHYEOK!" Youngjae yelled before chasing after him. The other students find the situation they witness adorable, and some students even have fan accounts of the couple on social media. Now the students staring at the couple with adorableness were running to their respective classes so they wouldn't be late.
—
Suhyeok and Youngjae made it to English class on time since they did not see their teacher in the classroom yet, and their friends were having a conversation until someone interrupted it.
"HAN GYEONGSU, GET YOUR ASS OFF OF MY DESK THIS INSTANT!" Poor Youngjae and Suhyeok's ears when they heard princess bitch Lee Nayeon screaming at Gyeongsu.
"Nayeon, do you have to yell? It is too early to hear you complaining about something." Youngjae asked Nayeon, who glared at him in response.
"You stay out of it, Yoon Youngjae. Just because Gwinam is your older brother, that does not mean that you scare me. Gosh, you are just as annoying as Gyeongsu." Nayeon responded and smirked when she saw Youngjae put his head down in shame. Suhyeok got pissed that Nayeon picked on Gyeongsu and Youngjae; he was about to say something to Nayeon when he heard another voice.
"All of you, sit down now so I can begin my lectures." Their English teacher Mrs.Park entered the classroom, and the students sat on their seats. She started teaching when Youngjae zoned out since he was still thinking about what Nayeon said to him and Gyeongsu.
"Youngjae, could you please repeat what I told the class?" He was pulled out of his thoughts when Mrs.Park asked him a question. Before he could answer, the bell rang, signaling that class was over. Youngjae sighed in relief that he didn't have to embarrass himself in front of his classmates, his friends, and his boyfriend. Everyone left the classroom with all their belongings to go home.
Youngjae was in the hallway to meet with his friends when he felt arms wrapped around his waist. He got startled and realized that Suhyeok was giving him a back hug.
"Hey beautiful, do you want to visit my place tonight?" Suhyeok asked his boyfriend. He smiled at the idea of spending the rest of his day with his boyfriend when he realized he already had plans.
"Sorry, Suhyeok, I promised Gyeongsu, Cheongsan, Onjo, Isak, and Huizhong that I would hang out with them at the chicken restaurant Cheongsan's mom plans to open up soon," Yongjae answered. He turned around and giggled when he saw Suhyeok pouting. He wrapped his arms around Suhyeok's neck and pecked his lips. Suhyeoks put his lips on Youngjae's for a make-out session when they heard someone clearing their throat.
"Do you two have to make out in the middle of the hallway?" Their friend Onjo asked. Youngjae blushes like a madman due to being embarrassed, while Suhyeok chuckles. Onjo rolls her eyes, even though she is one of the reasons why they are a couple today.
"Anyway, are you ready to head out, Youngjae?" She asked. Youngjae nodded and kissed Suhyeok's lips again before breaking the hug so he could join his other friends. They could head to the chicken restaurant Cheongsan's mom owns.
—
Youngjae, Gyeongsu, Cheongsan, Onjo, Isak, and Huizhong are at the restaurant laughing and having the time of their life when Mrs.Lee brings out more chicken.
"Remember, Onjo eats a lot." Mrs.Lee jokingly said, making the kids chuckle.
"I don't eat a lot; I just eat well," Onjo responded, making Youngjae giggle. Mrs.Lee smiled at Onjo's response and looked at the others.
"That's good to hear. Youngjae, Gyeongsu, Huizhong, eat up. You too, Asak." Mrs.Lee said, making Isak look up to stare at her since she had told her name wrong.
“It’s Isak, not Asak,” Isak corrected her. She smiled to be polite, even though the room was getting awkward.
"Did you change your name?" Mrs.Lee asked. Isak let out an awkward chuckle, and the atmosphere in the room became awkward.
"Mom, if you want to change names, you should change the restaurant name. Why did you have to name the restaurant after me?" Cheongsam asked his mom, which led to her explaining that she named it before he was even born, and his boyfriend was giggling at the conversation they were having.
"Don't worry, Mrs.Lee; I like the name you and your husband chose," Huizhong told Mrs.Lee. She smiled once again and patted his head. She then realized why she had brought the chicken out in the first place.
"Ok, so the chickens I brought out are new recipes we just came up with. This one is spicy, while this one is hot. Let me know what you guys think. You guys could let me know what you think." Mrs.Lee explained to the teenagers. Gyeongsu gave her the thumbs up after taking a bite out of the chicken. Huizhong, Isak, Cheongsan, and Youngjae gave her approval, while Onjo had something to say about the chicken.
"It's salty, but it is still good," Onjo said. Mrs.Lee asked if the chicken was spicy, but Onjo explained that her chicken was salty, but it was still good. Mrs.Lee returned the chicken to the kitchen and explained to her husband that the chicken was salty.
"You guys heard about our science teacher?" Isak asked her friends. They had confused faces, especially Cheongsan.
"What is up with him?" Cheongsam asked in confusion.
"He smells like a rotten corpse," Isak explained to them. Youngjae added that Nayeon was the one who spread the rumor, which led to a mini discussion of how Nayeon had never smelled a rotten corpse before and how they felt bad for him that his son was missing.
"I don't know if I believe what Nayeon is saying. We are talking about the same person who thought I was a spy working for the Chinese government since I was born in China." Huizhong explained, to which Cheongsan held his hand, as he was still upset about what she did to his boyfriend.
"I still remember when she thought I was using Gwinam to get money since I am on welfare. Youngjae, I am so happy you told your brother the truth, or else we would not be in a relationship today." Gyeongsu said to the group. Youngjae smiled since he saved his brother's relationship with his best friend. But he lost his smile when he remembered what Nayeon told him earlier at school. Onjo sees Youngjae's sudden mood change, so she puts her hand on his for comfort.
"Youngjae, don't let her get in your head. You are such a sweet and caring person, and I am happy to have such a wonderful friend like you. What Nayeon said about you and Gyeongsu this morning is untrue." Youngjae felt his eyes getting watery from what Onjo told him. Cheongsan, Isak, Gyeongsu, and Huizhong agreed with what Onjo said. They called it a night since it was getting late and they had school tomorrow morning.
They left the restaurant and ran to their homes, well Gyeongsu followed Youngjae since he told Gwinam this morning that he would spend the night at their house after the little gathering he did with his friends. They made it to the Yoon house, and Youngjae unlocked the door once he got the house keys out of his front pocket. Youngjae opened the front door, and they entered the door to see Gwinam sitting on the couch watching some random show they probably had never seen before.
Gyeongsu ran to the couch and sat on Gwinam's lap. His actions threw Gwinam off guard for a split second before wrapping his arms around Gyeongsu's waist. Youngjae faked gagging as he witnessed the scene.
"Oh, don't even start, Youngjae. You are going to see Suhyeok tomorrow morning at school. Until then, deal with me giving Gyeongsu all the love he deserves." Gwinam said.
"Whatever, I am going to bed. Goodnight, Gwinam and Gyeongsu." Youngjae told them. He went upstairs to his room before he could hear their response. Youngjae removed his school uniform, put on his PJs, and went to bed. He closed his eyes and entered a dreamland with Suhyeok in it so he could not be tired for tomorrow morning.
But little did he know the next day would change his life and his friends' lives forever.
