Chapter 1: The Fight

Chapter Text

It was the worst fight between friends that could have happened...

Lydia was closing her suitcase looking at the empty room for a while, sighing as she held her camera, she had been accepted to a college specializing in photography as her passion, the problem was a college far away, outside the quiet town where she lived and away from her home. mirror, in addition to a large number of hours that she would dedicate to doing her best.

It was her dream, she was excited, even anxious to go... But her friend already saw it differently.

They had known each other since the girl was thirteen years old, they had lived between the normal world and the Netherworld, going through many things while the girl was growing up, they were inseparable no matter what the challenge... But Lydia was a living girl, she had to live and one day that would come.

Beetlejuice didn't understand, he refused to understand why he would have to see his friend go, he didn't expect this day to come so quickly and he refused to accept it wanting to convince her to stay, he wanted Lydia not to leave him alone, he wanted to still have his only best friend with him.... If he was selfish he wanted to say "fuck you!", Lydia was the only one who understood him like nobody else and didn't accept the idea of losing her.

— Is not fair! Why Baby's?! You can stay and see a place here! — He opened his arms looking at Lydia in front of him trying to calm him down.

— Beetlejuice this is my dream, I always loved to photograph and you know it... This place is a unique chance for me... I thought you would understand..

— Yes, I understand ... My friend wants to abandon me as if I were nothing! — He turns his face, clenching his fists tightly with the red tips of his fingers turning white by the strength of the grip.

This statement irritated her, feeling her nerves on edge:

— I can still come back on vacation and holidays... I'm not abandoning you, I just want to live! You can't understand this because.......

— Because I'm dead? Come on...You can say! You can't deny it now — He says as he leans in close threateningly.

That look sent a chill down Lydia's spine, her friend looked at her coldly and her instinct told her to run as far away from the powerful ghost as possible, her faded blonde hair was fluttering while her eyes glittered like a beast ready to tear apart. your victim and clenched teeth looking sharp

— Beetlejuice... — She insists wanting to hold his shoulder, but he pulls away.

— All right, it's your dream, I understand... If it's so important, go for it! You can go and find another best friend who might be just as weird as you, I don't need you! — He yelled at her, that statement hurt, she knew he didn't say it on purpose.

— Liar..

— Ah!? I'm the liar!? You also promised that we would be friends and friends never leave... What are you doing to me!? — He complains making her back off.

— Are you asking me to give up everything for you? — She asks keeping serious and calm about the threat staring at him.

He hesitated with his expression for a while, faltering, looking down, loosening his fingers from his hands, Lydia was looking at him in a strange way and he felt that his heart would have stopped if he had beaten it, his stomach was knotted, the desire to keep her here came back to him. he tried to push away this strange feeling and the anger returned as he combed his hair back with one hand giving him a serious look, the same look leaving faces very close:

— I don't want to be dismissed as a nothing, all my life everyone has been doing that... But I thought with you it would be different... You don't plan on coming back here after I know, I heard your parents talking about the place there! Or are you going to deny it!? — He points to her face.

— I was going to figure it out later! I thought you trusted me!

— You're lying to me, you broke my trust first... — He got close making Lydia back off — You think I don't know ..... You're going to ...

— BJ..

— Meet new people... — he continued.

— Stop it — She insists seeing her going to the porch nervously knowing that her parents were outside.

—And then you're going to toss me aside like a broken toy! As if I were nothing and soon when you least expect it, you'll be "having fun" out there!

— I said stop!! — Her hand moved quickly, making him recoil with a slap.

Lydia opens her eyes seeing the ghost in question put a hand on her face:

— I'm not going to live out your insecurities — She replies irritably.

— You really are cruel — He says, laughing weakly — You're not my friend... It's nothing..

Something broke inside Lydia and her throat closed, she looked at him, he would never leave her alone... Their adventures, worries and fears, everything they shared was slowly breaking apart as she made a difficult decision, felt a pain of a heartbreak really is one of the worst pains you've known:

— Beetlejuice...

Lydia was clenching her fists keeping her head down with tears streaming down;

— Beetlejuice.... — She says as he notices.

— Lydia... We're not done talking!"

— BEETLEJUICE! — She screamed the third time throwing him out of her room.

Lydia was shaking sobbing knowing that he wouldn't change his mind and would probably try to stop her, Beetlejuice always did everything on his own and Lydia had to help, many times they both defended themselves and now that she wanted his support he reciprocated with a knife in his hands, well ...Without him she will be alone too, but she wanted to be the selfish one this time, she knew that kicking him out was literally the end of that friendship, there was nothing she could do.

Both were irritated and said what they shouldn't..

For the ghost with the most sitting on the floor of his house this was a betrayal, he scratched the floor of his house, lights flickered and clenched his teeth irritated with tremors throughout the house drawing the attention of the other guests and soon the lights went out and books fell from the shelves, just as chairs flew through the walls breaking into pieces, he struggled internally........Not to let the tears flow trying to let the rage take over as his eyes turned from green to a hellish crimson:

"Damn...Damn..."

— Excellent! — He shouts at his reflection in the mirror angrily — Live your life Lydia Deetz!..... I hope. not see you. never!!!!

He used magic closing his fists breaking the glass of the mirror irritated causing the mirror on the dressing table to crack startling Lydia who covered her mouth with the shards of the mirror falling to the floor and knelt down next to the mirror picking up the red cobweb poncho that was in your drawer.

She almost tore it off...but couldn't, pulling the fabric against her face to stifle her sobs as her hair fell like a curtain.

He was leaning against the wall, squeezing the fabric of his striped suit with tears streaming down his face with red eyes shining, seeming to feel a strong pain in his chest:

"Goodbye, old friend" - Both thought together
