Chapter Text
In the beautiful city of L'manburg, there lived a family who had come together differently than most. Nonetheless, there was much love and joy.
There lived a man named Philza Minecraft, a wealthy civilian of the grand city of L'manburg. It was once just him and his wife, content and in love. Tragedy struck, and Philza's wife passed away from illness.
Heartbroken, the man grieved. Feeling all alone and worried he'd never find happiness again.
That all changed when he ran into two orphan boys. Wilbur and Tommy.
From that day, the three knew they would be together forever. Love came back into Phil's life. Love for his boys, his sons.
==============================
Schlatt grumbled as he tried to block out the loud chatter of children in the back of the car. It was like this almost everyday. He was in charge of taking Tommy and Wilbur home from school. Their father would be waiting for them in his study.
The nine and thirteen year old themselves didn't bother Schlatt, heck he didn't really care what they did. He was in it for the money. Philza Minecraft paid very well, and for someone who came from nothing that was a big deal.
The car pulled into the mansions side garage and the boys practically leapt out before the car was even in park.
They raced eachother up the stairs to their father's study and threw open the door.
"Hi dad!" Two voices chorused. Phil grinned and looked up from his monitor.
"Hello boys! How was school?"
"It was okay I guess, in my opinion it simply is too long." Tommy proclaimed climbing onto Phil's lap.
"You say that almost everyday." Wilbur said rolling his eyes.
"It is because I am right. Big men are always right." Tommy gave a single nod for emphasis. Phil laughed.
"Alright boys, take a look at this. It's for the new children's library being built. I've been asked to come up with the design." Phil said.
Wilbur and Tommy leaned closer to look at the computer screen. A beautiful rendering of a building was displayed. A big structure with hues of blue, green, pink.
"Yeah I don't like the coral Phil." Wilbur groaned. Phil rolled his eyes playfully.
"I know you don't, but I do. What's something else you like?" Phil smiled.
"I quite like the coral Phil. It makes--" Tommy was cut off by his brother.
"Oh, stop sucking up to dad." Wilbur snapped.
"I'M NOT SUCKING UP TO DAD MAN! I LIKE THE CORAL. It's a lovely color--"
"I like the coral! Phil, I like the coral!--"
Phil sighed. "Boys."
"OH. MY. GOSH. WILBUR. IS. STUPID."
"Boys."
"I like the coral! I--"
"You, you inadequate fool." Tommy trailed off.
"Are you done?!" Phil stared at his children.
A new voice entered the room.
"Phil, I'm here to remind the boys it's time to practice their instruments." Schlatt said standing in the doorway.
"Boys, go with Schlatt please." Phil said. He hoped they heard him through the bickering.
Phil could still hear them as they were walking down the hall.
"I'm going to throw you off a pier."
"Well I would simply evade your throw--"
Phil laughed out loud. Oh he loved his sons. They were a bit much sometimes, but he wouldn't have it any other way.
==============================
The boys had completely switched topics by the time they got downstairs. It was funny how fast they could go from arguing to best friends. Wilbur excitedly got his guitar from its stand, and began strumming it. Tommy went to the piano, and did a few warm-ups.
The doorbell rang, and Schlatt answered to see Mr. Awesamdude at the door.
"Sam, welcome, Mr. Minecraft is upstairs in his study. Shall I take you to him?" Schlatt asked politely.
"Hello Schlatt, no need. I remember where it is." Sam said stepping inside and going up the marble staircase.
==============================
Schlatt glanced at the boys who were concentrated on their musical instruments and decided to go to his own office.
Now that everyone was busy, he could continue working how to get Philza's money to be his.
He leaned back in his chair, taking a long drink from a green bottle.
Philza would do anything for those brats of his, Schlatt thought. Maybe even give up his fortune for them.
That's it.
He would take the boys and keep them in a secure location. Under a different name, he would write a ransom note for his children. Old Philza would never even dare to do anything that would out his children in harms way. Schlatt would collect the money, be off and rich as can be! Philza would never have to know it was him.
It was brilliant!
==============================
"You're piano is sounding really good, Tommy." Wilbur complimented from where he sat. His guitar was on his leg, and he was strumming softly.
"Thanks Big Dubs. I'm simply too good at what I do." Tommy grinned. Wilbur snorted.
After moment of silence, Tommy whined about being hungry.
"I think we've played long enough. Let's go bother Schlatt for some dinner." Wilbur agreed. He set his guitar back on its stand and stood up.
"Race you to the dining hall!" Tommy yelled, taking off into a sprint.
"Don't worry, even with the headstart I'll win!" Wilbur said taking off after his brother.
The two found Schlatt already setting the table and serving dinner. A little early, but not out of the usual.
"Hello boys. Your father told me to tell you he'd be a few minutes late to dinner and to get started without him. He is showing Mr. Awesamdude to the door." Schlatt explained. Wilbur nodded, and he and Tommy sat down ar the table.
"Tonight is a creamy white soup, with grilled chicken breast." Schlatt said setting a dish in front of each boy.
They both immediately began eating, and didn't notice the sly smile from their butler.
A couple minutes later, Phil entered the room with an apology for being late.
"No worries dad, just eat! It's delicious!" Tommy smiled. Wilbur nodded and yawned.
"Wonderful, thank you Schlatt. You are free for the evening." Phil said with a smile.
"Thank you sir. If it would be alright, may I visit my cousin who lives on the other side of town. I'd be back in the morning to take the boys to school." Schlatt asked.
"Of course, enjoy your time with your cousin."
Schlatt nodded and left to the kitchen.
Tommy then gave a big tired yawn.
"You boys tired?" Phil asked, a fond smile on his face as he watched his children.
Wilbur nodded, "I wasn't before, but I guess the day has caught up to us."
"Well, you can go to bed once you're finished eating." Phil said as he cut into his piece of chicken.
After dinner, Phil sent to very tired children to bed. He had to carry Tommy who fell asleep at the table. He guided Wilbur to his room and promised he'd come say goodnight. He brought Tommy into the boys own bedroom and tucked him into bedand kissed his forehead. Philza stood up and shut the door as he left.
He went into Wilbur's room, and found him already wrapped in his blankets.
"Goodnight Wilbur, love you." He said brushing a hand through Wilbur's brown curls.
"Night dad, love you too." Wilbur said, his eyes already closed. Phil kissed his forehead too before leaving.
Phil himself got ready for bed and went to sleep. Not a single thought crossed his mind that anything was wrong.
==============================
Schlatt waited at the bottom of the stairs that lead to the bedrooms. He didn't move until he was sure Philza was asleep. He crept up the stairs and opened the door to Tommy's room. He carefully picked up the kid and made his way down stairs and out to the garage. He had made sure to open beforehand so the noise didn't wake anyone in the neighborhood up. He set the blond boy in the trunk of the car and hurried to get the other kid.
Wilbur was a little to tall for Schlatt to carry like he did Tommy, so he slung the sleeping brunette over his shoulder and made his way back down the dark stairs and hallway.
He threw the kid into the trunk next to his brother and shut it. Schlatt hopped in the driver's seat and turned on the car. He quickly backed out and headed out.
Once he left the city borders he let out a laugh, he could just picture that money in his hands now.
