Chapter 1: Meeting The Avengers
Summary:
Peter meets the Avengers. Tony and Peter decide to pull a prank on the Rogues.
Chapter Text
"Are you sure you packed everything?"
May looked up from her somewhat over packed luggage, glancing at Peter with a reassuring smile before returning to trying to lock (what Peter guarantees to be all her personal belongings) in one singular large luggage.
Why was May packing exactly?
Well you see, May Parker is a very busy woman who works overtime to earn extra money to give Peter a roof to live under. And Peter greatfully appreciated everything she did for him. So Tony, had given May a free trip to the fricking Bahamas for a whole fricking week.
"Of course," May huffed as she squished down everything into the luggage successfully. She stood up and admired her hard work with her hands in her hips before turning to Peter again.
"Are you sure you packed everything?"
"I don't thing I really have to pack May. I mean I have a whole room in Tony's penthouse," Peter explained.
And at that moment they both heard a loud sound of a horn outside the apartment building. When Peter looked out of it, he saw a sleek black Audi car parked outside which was no doubt to be Happy.
"That's Happy," Peter announced, turning to May who was dragging her luggage up.
"Alright then. Let's get going,"
The two walked out of the apartment building to greet Happy's not-so-happy face from all the waiting he had needed to do.
"Sorry Happy, but the elevator held us up,"
Happy waved his apology off and grunted as he lifted May's luggage into the back of the car, probably not having expected the thing to be so heavy. They all got into the car where Happy drove off quickly. No doubt wanting to get this (being a chauffeur for the Parkers) over with.
They were dropping Peter off at the tower first since the tower was a much nearer than the airport. And after 20 minutes of driving and talking with May, Peter had reached the tower of the top technology company where he was going to stay at for a whole week.
"Have fun and stay safe at the Bahamas May,"
"Have fun with Tony, sweetie. And don't give him too much trouble"
"Okay, larb you,"
"I larb you too,"
After they exchanged their goodbyes and hugs, Happy not getting out of the car at all, Peter watched as the black Audi drove away from the tower. And then he realised that he wasn't going to see May for a whole week. But at least he wouldn't be staying at home all by his lonesome.
He walked into the tower and was immediately greeted by Tony's artificial intelligence, FRIDAY.
"Hello Peter," Came the cool voice from seemingly no where. "Shall I alert Boss that you're here?"
"Um ya. Thanks FRIDAY,"
"I have already informed Boss, he wishes that you come up to the lab quickly. Apparently there are a few surprises waiting for you," FRIDAY said.
That does not sound good. Tony's surprises aren't really the best. Or good for that matter.
"Tell him I'll be up in a few,"
"Will do."
He'll be up in a few moments, not minutes. And he was glad that FRIDAY understood that.
Why?
Well you see, Peter Parker is known as, to every single employee and intern at Stark Industries, Tony Stark's AKA Iron Man's personal intern. And therefore, no one is really surprised that he takes Tony Stark's private elevator, that takes only a matter of seconds to reach the penthouse. The difference is only because there wouldn't be interns and employees trying to get to their different respective levels.
And so, Peter reached the penthouse in a matter of thirty fast seconds. However when he stepped out of the elevator, he realised that he wasn't on the correct floor. He realised he was on the Avenger's common floor and definitely not Tony's penthouse floor.
"Umm, FRIDAY? I think you reached the wrong floor," Peter said, glancing around the floor he's only been on a handful of times.
"I believe that Boss had asked me to send you to the Avenger's common floor." FRIDAY chirped.
Peter nodded despite knowing that the AI wouldn't be able to see it and stepped out of the elevator. Wondering why Tony would request that he came to this floor instead. But then he heard Tony's voice with his enhanced hearing and therefore, called out to him loudly.
"Hey, FRIDAY said that you asked me to-"
Shit.
Peter paused his sentence abruptly as he stared at the Avenger's common room filled with, well, none other than the Avengers.
"Hey kid," Tony greeted, breaking the silence.
"Uh. Yea. Hey," Welp there goes his perfect first impression in front of the Avengers no less. "So, um, I'm guessing the other Avengers have been.. um, pardoned?"
Great job Parker, Peter thought.
"So who is this Peter?" Natasha asked.
"Oh my god, I seriously thought I was the only person hiding a secret family. But apparently, no!"
Peter watched as Tony ignored any other inquiries, or sentences for that matter, that the Rogues had and walked over to him, muttering to Peter to just go along while his back was faced to the Rogues.
Then as Tony turned around, he rested his arm on Peter's shoulders, slumping against Peter's surprisingly relaxed figure.
"Everyone meet Peter Parker. My son, who I have indeed kept undercover for 16 years. And we've recently decided that we would tell the Avengers, once I got them pardoned of course. Which I am still expecting some very well deserved thank yous from."
Peter rolled his eyes.
"Now that's that," Tony finished.
"So if you'll excuse me. Pete and I have some lab work to be doing right now. Toodles,"
They both walked to the elevator, leaving the Rogues with different expressions of shock and confusion. Only when they were alone in the elevator, then did Peter turn to Tony with a raised eyebrow.
"Hey hey hey. You haven't even heard what that was all about yet!" Tony defended.
Peter rolled his eyes. Again.
"Don't give me that attitude Parker." Tony paused, figuring how to start the explanation. "Okay well you see, the Rogues or whatever the media is calling them, thinks you're my son. So then I just thought that we'd go along with it." He explained.
"Unless you're uncomfortable with it." Tony added, not wanting to push Peter into anything. But he would be lying if said he wouldn't feel even the slightest tinge of disappointment if Peter said no. Because if they were to pull this bluff on the Rogues, Tony wouldn't really need to act like Peter's father. He already so Peter as his kid.
"No no no. Definitely not uncomfortable with it. How many people in the world can say that they've been able to prank the Avengers? With Tony Stark!" Peter exclaimed excitedly.
"Also it'd be great to get back at Captain America." Peter added, voice turning serious. And Tony noticed.
"Look Underoos, I know that you know about what happened in Siberia, but I think it's time we leave it all behind."
Leave it all behind?
How? How could he forget that Captain America, someone who he had looked up to when he as a kid, left his hero-slash-idol for the dead. When he had found out it out while accidentally coming across the video in FRIDAY's files, he had immediately ripped every piece of Captain America merch he owned. And he was in a horrible mood for a good week or so.
He could not forgive the man. And only if Tony really really wanted him to, then will he begrudgingly 'forgive' the guy.
Peter, however, didn't bring up any of that and instead he slowly nodded. But him nodding definitely does not mean he has forgiven Steve.
"Great, good, fantastic. Now, putting all that drama behind, let's get to work."
And Peter knew, that Tony was doing what he always does to not touch the topic of feelings. Deflecting.
But he didn't say a word.
Meanwhile in the common room, Natasha finally broke the awkward silence.
"Well, that's something."
"Indeed," Wanda agreed.
"Ya, who knew Stark had a ward," Sam muttered.
"How old even is the kid?" Clint asked.
"Well whatever it is, I think we should respect Tony's privacy. I personally think that Tony trusting us to keep his secret of having a child, is huge progress," Steve said, "And... I think we should all find a time to thank Tony for pardoning us. And apologize to him."
"I think you owe an apology more than anyone else here Steve,"
"Barton!"
***
This is so awkward.
Peter would occasionally look up from his food to his the Avengers, the world's mightiest heroes, poke at the food Steve had made. And Peter tried to think of a subject that would interest everyone in conversation. Peter was glad he could see that he wasn't the only one exasperated from all this awkward tension.
"So, Peter how was school today?" Rhodey piped up.
Peter silently thanked Rhodey for the interruption as he answered the question.
"It was fine Uncle Rhodey," Peter said.
He and Tony had informed Rhodey and Pepper about the little stunt they were both pulling, and well, they were both very willing to prank the Rogues. Rhodey had deckared himself Peter's favourite uncle and Pepper as the step mom (obviously because Tony and Pepper weren't in a relationship for over 16 years yet and couldn't have had Peter).
"I uh got back my practice paper for AP Physics and got full marks?" Peter said, more as a question than and answer, not wanting to sound like he's bragging.
"Wow. That's really amazing Peter," Complimented Natasha.
Peter smiled shyly at her, internally fanboying.
Holy shit the Black Widow just complimented me on my Physics grades.
Holy shit.
Yeah, maybe he's not over worshipping some of the Avengers here.
And out of all the Rogues, Natasha was the one who he was most warmed up to. Mostly just because she started out on Tony's side of the 'Civil War' as the media called it.
"Um, thank you Miss Romanov," Peter really tried to keep his voice steady.
"Natasha,"
Oh my god I'm on a first term basis with the Black Widow!
Yup. Definitely not over worshipping some of the Avengers.
"Nat's right Pete. That's impressive, and as a reward you get to choose the movie tonight," Tony announced.
"Movie?" Steve asked.
"Oh yeah right. You know how we used to do movie nights? Yeah. We're doing it again," Tony explained, throat suddenly dry when Steve had spoken up. "Pepper said it was to build 'team bonding' and what not."
With nothing else to talk about, the team tried to fill the silence by starting to discuss about random everyday subjects or just talking among themselves.
Rhodey flashed a knowing smirk at Peter who stifled his laughter.
After dinner, Peter and Natasha had volunteered to clean the dishes while the others walked to the living room where the television was.
While in the kitchen, Peter could not help but feel overly awkward as he was washing the dishes with the Black Widow.
"How did Tony keep you under wraps?" Natasha suddenly said.
Right.
Tony had prepared him for this. He had said that Natasha was the most probable to find out that they weren't really biologically father and son. If whatever made up backstory that Peter made, does not work on Natasha, Tony had said to just give it up.
Natasha wouldn't tell anyone.
At least, that's what Tony had said.
"Dad changed my last name to Parker, which was my biological mom's side, " Peter started. "I haven't actually met my biological mom or maybe I did, I just don't remember. But anyway, my biological mom died along with her husband in a plane crash." That part was true. Peter's parents did die in a plane crash together.
"Yeah, she broke up with Dad and didn't want to keep me," Peter continued. "Well I can't really say she broke up with Dad or if it even can be considered a relationship. I mean all they did was spend one night together, did some things I don't want to think about, and then dad left her the next morning."
"Then poof! 9 months later I existed. And then my mom married someone and threw me onto Dad's doorstep," Peter finished, surprised at how he didn't stutter through out the whole fake explanation.
He prayed to God that his mother was not turning around in her grave and silently apologised to her.
"I see," Natasha all but said. "Why do you call your mother 'my biological mom'?"
"Oh that! That's because I see my mom as Pepper,"
Peter was surprised that they managed to converse in small talk while they finished washing the last of the dishes. Where Natasha mostly asked random questions that Peter was sure she was going to apply when she looked into his background. (Which Tony had mostly erased to keep anyone like Natasha from delving into Peter's life). And Peter would answer those questions with half truths.
By the time they were done, everybody had already settled in the living room. There we're only a few spaces left, one on the couch next to Tony where Peter immediately grabbed and an armchair which Natasha walked swiftly towards.
"What took you so long?" Tony asked, "You know I have a dishwasher for a reason right?"
"Yes?"
"Whatever, just choose the movie bud."
And Tony found himself not surprised as he turned the television on time watch Star Wars again for the hundredth time. Next to him, he was then surprised that Peter had taken out his phone (a Stark phone Tony had give Peter for his 16th birthday) and was now texting him.
Tony read whatever he was texting, getting the message that Peter wanted to tell him something right now without letting the others know.
'I gave Natasha a little backstory on me so you have to go along with what I said. I said you slept with my mom then you left her in the morning, had me then immediately married my dad and threw on your doorstep. And you told me all that when I was 13"
Tony rolled his eyes.
But he thought it made sense. He remembered his playboy days and honestly he wouldn't be surprised if what Peter said was true.
Then Peter put away his phone, and looked up at Tony with a smirk, obviously thinking he was super smart for being able to give Tony the message in such a way.
"Ya ya bud. Great job," Tony said barely above a whisper as he ruffled Peter's hair.
***
"Look," Wanda whispered to Natasha who was now sitting next to her.
She was subtly pointing at Peter who despite watching one if his favorite movies, was asleep soundly on the couch, head resting on Tony's shoulder who seemed impassive at the action.
"That's... adorable," Natasha admitted.
"Alright then. I've gotta put sleeping beauty to sleep. So goodbye," Tony bid as he picked Peter carefully up in his arms. "Oh yea and your rooms are exactly where they always are. Nothing touched. Bye."
Tony walked away from the group, Rhodey had already left and Clint disappeared half way through the movie. Tony did not doubt the man to be somewhere in the vents, doing god knows what.
He walked to the end of the hall to Peter's room, which he was really regretting for putting it there. Peter was heavier than he looked and it probably wasn't good for his aging back.
He finally reached Peter's room and slowly put the teen on his bed, which seemed to wake Peter.
"'S movie over?"
"Yep, and you fell asleep half way through bud."
"Oh. Are you talking me in?" Peter asked, amusement evident in his sleepy voice.
"Be grateful kid. I don't do this for everyone. Heck, I don't even do this for Pep!"
"'M lucky then," Peter muttered, eyes half lidded.
"Ya you are." Tony stated as he stood up to walk towards the door.
"G'night Dad."
Tony had stopped in his tracks, feeling his heart skips a beat as his breath hitched. He slowly turned around to see Peter asleep, brown curls spilling everywhere. Seeing how soundly asleep Peter was, Tony concluded that Peter probably didn't know what he'd just said.
Tony smiled, genuinely.
"Night Pete."
Chapter 2: Just Another Bored Day
Summary:
Peter gets an announcement he doesn't like from his teachers and gets a lesson on combat from Nat.
Notes:
I have officially decided that I will try to think of every typical trope for Irondad and Spiderson and put it in this fic. So, be prepared. I take it that the tags have warned you.
Also does Mr Harrington have a designated subject he teaches? I'm so confused. I'm just gonna put him as the calculus teacher.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
"Pete. Buddy. Come on sleepyhead, you've gotta wake up unless you wanna be late for school." Came a comforting familiar voice.
"Tony?"
"Ya kid it's me." The voice - identified as Tony - said.
Peter slowly sat up in his bed, rubbing the sleepiness from his eyes as he looked up at Tony.
"Glad to have you back in the land if the living," Tony remarked. "I made breakfast. After you're done eating go change and Happy'll drive you."
The two of them walked out of the bedroom and instead of eating at the penthouse kitchen like whenever he stayed over, they took the elevator down three floors to the Avengers common floor. Peter would've been confused had he registered the fact that he was in the Avengers common room instead of the penthouse but he was honestly to sleepy to care.
"I was the first to wake so I made breakfast for everyone," Tony explained to the half-awake Peter. "So might as well have it here. But we could still eat upstairs if you want to."
"’S okay. Here’s fine.” Peter said as he looked up. Then he nearly fell out of his chair as he saw Clint Barton AKA Hawkeye sitting on the top of the refrigerator wearing only his boxers and eating the food (which was french toast and bacon) that Tony made.
“Hey kid,” Clint greeted, not bothered that he was only wearing one piece of clothing in front of other people.
”Hi Mr Hawkeye sir.”
Clint chuckled and turned to Tony in disbelief.
”Is this really your kid Stark?” Clint asked, “Cause I definitely don’t remember the last time you were that polite.”
“Just eat your damn food Legolas and go do whatever it is you do.” Tony snarked.
”See what I mean kid?”
”I completely understand you Mr Hawkeye sir,” Peter agreed. “Dad can be really annoying sometimes.”
”You little shit. You’re fired.”
”You can’t fire me.” Peter stated.
”You’re right… I can’t.” Tony admitted.
Peter triumphantly smirked as the three of them settled into an easy atmosphere. Tony making more food while Clint was chewing really and Peter practically inhaled his food. As he walked out of the kitchen and up to his room, his enhanced hearing picked up on how Clint had made a comment and how fast he ate his food. And Peter laughed. Clint or the Rogues for the matter, do not know that he was Spider-Man. Maybe that should be a topic he and Tony should discuss another day when they have the floor all to themselves.
But right now, Peter needed to get changed quick and go down to the lobby where he was sure Happy would be at in a minute or so. And Peter really did not want to face an unhappy and disgruntled Happy. Hence, he just pulled out the first thing he saw and put it on him in what must have been a world record for putting clothes on. Peter reached for his bag, ran out of his room and towards the elevator which opened just as he reached it and Tony walked out of it.
“Hey Pete-”
”Sorry dad gotta go real quick. Bye. See you after school!” Peter bid as he rushed into the elevator. He watched as the doors closed but not before Peter was able to catch Tony’s fond shake of a head.
The moment Peter heard the ding of the elevator having reached ground floor, he bolted out of it, coming to a halt just outside the glass doors of Stark Industries, where - as Peter had predicted - Happy stood looking at his watch obviously waiting for him to come.
”Took you long enough,” Happy murmured, getting into the front.
”Sorry Happy. I really tried to be fast,”
Happy didn’t say anything and just drove off the moment Peter had settled into his seat at the back.
It wasn’t a particularly long ride. Peter just stared out of the window, watching as people went about with their daily things and viewed the blurred scenery (as Happy was driving real fast) for the millionth time. And when he saw his school, he unbuckled his seatbelt and pulled his bag over his shoulders. There weren’t many students at the gates right now, but Peter knew some people would star at him when he exits an Audi.
”Bye Happy,”
Happy grunted in acknowledgement.
He climbed out of the car and ignored the few stares sent his way as he walked towards his locker where he was confident Ned would be at. He was right. He had caught sight of his best friend’s hand waving excitedly at him from their lockers which were right next to each other.
”Hey Ned,” Peter greeted.
”Oh my god Peter, did you just come out from an Audi?! Wait does that mean you stayed at the tower?” Ned asked in a hushed whisper.
”Yeah, May’s trip to the Bahamas was yesterday evening.”
”Holy shit. Does that mean you met the other Avengers? Mr Stark had them pardoned yesterday!” Ned continued saying excitedly.
”Yeah, I’ll tell you later during English,”
”Hey Penis!” Flash yelled across the hallway. Peter groaned and ignored the barely audible sounds of laughter that a normal person wouldn’t be able to hear.
“I saw that black Audi you came out of just now. What’d you have to do to get that car huh? Last time I saw, it was a dusty blue car that was probably from a junk yard. What did you aunt have to do to get that Audi, Penis?” Flash taunted.
Peter knew Flash taunts were all not worth listening to, he knew that the taunts were not worth his time and that he knew better. But sometimes, he just can’t ignore them. Even if they were just tiny empty threats. He was getting sick of Flash’s bullying as the days passed. Can’t he see that Peter wasn’t bothered by it? What’s the whole point of bullying anyway?
Peter wouldn’t ever know and he didn’t really care to know anyway. So he just walked away Ned in tow, walking towards their first period class, English.
"Hey I'm talking to you!" Flash called.
"And we don't give 5 shits!" Ned yelled back.
When they entered their english classroom, they weren't surprised to see that they were the first ones in there. For a STEM school for Science and Technology, English didn't feel like a subject to learn for most students.
They took their usual spots which is at the back of the classroom, where they had a lesser chance of being overheard by the teacher.
"So? Tell me Peter!" Ned urged excitedly the moment he settled in his seat.
"Okay okay. Though there's nothing much for say really."
"You met the Avengers Peter! There's is no way there is not much to say," Ned argued.
"Um..." Peter paused, thinking of what to say first. "Oh! Yeah right! The Rogues totally think I'm Tony's biological son. And now we're just going along with it."
"That is not nothing." Ned but all gaped.
Peter laughed.
He then continued talking about how awkward yesterday's dinner was, and only when Rhodey had asked Peter a question then did the tension die away. But when he got to the part where he found Clint on the top of the refrigerator, Ned couldn't contain his laughter and burst out laughing. Much to Peter's embarrassment, there where other students in the class who started staring at them.
"Ned!" Pete hushed.
"Sorry Peter! But you found Hawkeye in his boxers sitting on top of the fridge?!" Ned shouted in a whispered voice.
Peter was about to answer when unfortunately, their English teacher had decided to walk in at that moment. And Ned and Peter just barely were able to pull out their books to make it seem like they were reading the whole time and not talking. After a few minutes, thankfully (Peter was starting to get uneasy with the silence), the bell rang and students entered the classroom taking their respective seats.
School went pretty well after that to say the least, he and Ned were able to have a conversation in class without their English teacher noticing. And after English was his AP courses which he all breezed through, followed by Mr Harrington's calculus class which was as easy and boring as always. But that was only the case for him. Apparently, everyone else (he had heard) was struggling with the subject. In the end, classes were great and Flash only said a sentence to him before MJ had told him off which was another big plus.
However, it was the end of Academic Decathlon then did things started to go slightly downhill.
”Before you all go,” said Mr Harrington. “We have received news that we will be going on a field trip for our amazing success when we won the last competition!”
Mr Harrington paused for the dramatic effect, while some of the students vibrated in anticipation.
”We’re going to Stark Industries!” He announced happily.
Oh shit. Peter thought.
Peter could see Flash turning around to smirk victoriously at him because Flash refused to believe that his internship with Stark Industries was real. But Peter could not be bothered. He really did not want to go on a field trip to Stark Industries, when he was sure during sometime on the field trip, Tony would just pop up to embarrass him. Or the fact that nearly all the interns, security guards and cafeteria stall owners would recognise him as Tony’s personal intern.
And unfortunately, May was out of town so Peter could only go to Tony who would unlikely not take no as an answer.
Ned however was the opposite of Peter. Instead of dreading the date the field trip was on, Ned was bouncing in excitement to be able to go over to Stark Industries. And Peter had yet to remind Ned that he been there a couple of times to build their Star Wars Lego sets with him.
”I’m sure you’re all excited for it, so we’ve decided to push the trip earlier. It’ll be on this Thursday. So I expect you to tell your parents about this and have them sign the permission slips and NDAs. I’ll brief you on the ground rules after tomorrow’s practice where I also expect to get the permission forms signed.”
Mr Harrington then started passing out the paperwork that the team needed to sign and hand in tomorrow while Ned turned to him excitedly.
”Peter! Can you believe it!? We’re going to Stark Industries!”
”Which will not be fun,” Peter lamented. “Imagine having to take a field trip to your home, Ned. I’m also super sure Tony wouldn’t allow me to not go not this field trip. And you’ve been to SI before Ned. The penthouse too.”
”Talking about your fake internship again Parker?” Came Flash’s voice.
Peter looked around the gym that they were using. It was empty other than him, Ned and Flash. Which was probably the only reason why he had decided to approach Peter.
”Why don’t you just give it up huh? Your lie’s just gonna get exposed anyway. Maybe they’ll even kick you out because of it.” Flash laughed as he left the gymnasium.
Peter rolled his eyes, picked up his and Ned’s bags before walking out of the gym with Ned, who bid goodbye to when he saw Happy’s car much to Peter’s embarrassment. He got stares and looks from students in his year as he walked in the direction of the black coloured Porsche, he could hear the muttering from people his class about how they didn’t realise he was rich.
Well, truth was that he really wasn’t. He just happened to be Spider-Man and just happened to be under Iron Man’s custody until next monday.
”Hey Happy!” Peter greeted as he closed the door.
“Hey kid.”
***
“So what’s this field trip I’ve heard about Underoos?” Tony asked the moment Peter had entered the lab.
”How did you know!? Did you hack the school’s security footage? Don’t you even dare lie to me, I know you’re capable of it.”
“How did you know?” Tony asked sarcastically. “Obviously because the school sent me a notification kid.” He deadpanned.
”Oh.”
Tony rolled his eyes and shook his head.
“So what’s this field trip I heard about?” Tony asked, regaining his smirk.
“Tony, please. Don’t embarrass me in front of my classmates,” Peter begged.
”Don’t you want to prove that Flash kid wrong? Cause I sure do.”
”I don’t care what Flash has to say! He’s just an asshole!”
“Ya, I know. That’s why I’m going to show you off to him and teach him a fucking lesson about messing with my kid.”
Peter sighed.
”Also, hand me the permission slip.”
***
”Dad, I’m bored.”
”Have you finished all you homework?” Tony asked.
”Yes.”
”The intern projects you had?”
”Currently being tested.”
Tony sighed, knowing that he was bored too. They had finished redesigning Peter’s suit and upgraded whatever that they felt needed to be upgraded here in the tower. Currently, they were in the Avengers common room where Steve was already making dinner while Wanda and Natasha were sparring in the training rooms. Clint and Sam were somewhere in the tower doing… something.
”We’ve finished your movie watchlist haven’t we?” Tony murmured.
”Yep.”
“FRIDAY? Search what to do with your teenager kid when they’re bored.”
”Searching the web Boss.” Friday’s cool voice answered. “The most informational sources have suggested cooking, reading, writing or doing anything productive as it seems.”
”Thanks great help FRI.”
”It was my pleasure Boss.” FRIDAY answered, not sensing Tony’s sarcastic tone.
”Alright bud, we’re gonna find Nat and Wanda see what they’re doing. Maybe that’ll be fun.”
Peter jumped up from his seat in excitement while Tony slowly stood up and heard the noise of his back straightening itself. Peter giggled silently earning a glare from Tony.
”What? Admit it. Your getting old, Dad.”
”Never.”
They walked out of the common room floor, leaving Steve to continue cooking whatever he was doing. Peter had started tapping his foot impatiently on the elevator’s floor as they descended to the training floors. They kept silent throughout the few seconds when they went down, Peter running out of the elevator in haste. Tony walking behind him.
Eventually, they found Wanda and Nat in the second training room they came across, sparring. Tony was indifferent about it having seen everyone on the team spare before. He couldn’t say the same for Peter though. The kid had his face pressed against the cold glass, his breath fogging up the area.
“Whoa.”
They watched silently as Natasha and Wanda did hand to hand combat (with no powers to be fair). And Natasha was obviously winning the fight. She was weaving and dodging every single hit Wanda threw at her slim body while also landing a few hard hits that Wanda couldn’t manage to block. And in a few minutes she had Wanda on the ground.
But both Tony and Peter knew that if Wanda was using her powers, she would’ve won.
The two then decided to enter the room when Wanda had noticed them.
”Hey.” Natasha called, flipping her hair behind her.
”Hello.” Wanda greeted while getting up.
Tony merely nodded while Peter greeted them respectively.
“Peter here, got bored and so did I. So we just kinda decided to watch you two spar.” Tony explained.
”Would you like me to teach you how to fight Peter?” Natasha asked, looking Peter up and down before nodding.
”Holy shit, can I Dad?” Peter exclaimed, excited over the prospect of being taught how to fight by Black Widow.
“Sure.” Tony replied. “But you better not hurt my kid Romanov.” Tony threatened.
“Oh I wouldn’t dream of it.” Natasha replied. “Come on kid, let’s teach you some moves.”
Tony watched from the side as Peter and Natasha stood on opposite ends of a mat ready to spar.
”This is mostly just to see how good you are at fighting. Don’t worry, I’ll go easy on you.” Natasha said.
Peter nodded, telling himself that he couldn’t use to much strength or anything spider-like.
Ont he count of three, Natasha sped towards him, a punch aimed for his ribs, which Peter dodged easily having his spidey senses alert him of it. He quickly tuned around and caused Natasha to nearly fall due to him sweeping her from her feet. But Natasha quickly regained her composure and dashed towards Peter, grabbing Peter’s right arm and lifting him off his feet, and throwing him onto the mat. But all not before Peter raised a fist to knock Natasha from the side, causing her grip to loosen ever so slightly but enough for him to escape. He ran to the other side of the mat, far from Natasha.
”Huh.” Natasha murmured. “Not bad.”
”I gave him some lessons,” Tony explained, afraid Natasha might see how Peter might be very similar to a certain Spider person. And a subject he really needed to talk with Peter about. “Since I’m Iron Man and all, people are going to come after me. I had to teach Pete some moves.”
”So your that bad at teaching after all Stark.” Wanda commented.
”Wait so we’re done?” Peter asked, confused as Natasha had stopped coming at him.
”Yep. We’re done for today.” Natasha answered. “And just a heads up but you shouldn’t hesitate when you fight. I can tell you are.” She added as she left the room with Wanda who waved goodbye at him.
Peter then walked over to Tony with wide eyes.
”She is so awesome.” Peter said in awe.
”Oh? If she’s awesome, what am I?” Tony asked.
”You’re my favourite Avenger.” Peter answered.
“Thanks kid,” Tony stated as he ruffled Peter’s already messy hair.
Notes:
I had to add Nat. I just love her so much. And maybe she might have cracked the code on Peter being Spider-Man. Who knows. Certainly not you. (Or actually me for that matter…)
Chapter 3: Sensory Overload Is A Bitch
Summary:
Sensory Overload sucks. And Pepper fetches Peter from school.
Notes:
I'll try to post on every Wednesday and Sunday.
I love the Peter getting Sensory Overload trope. It provides fluff, hurt/comfort and maybe that little sprinkle of Peter whump.

Peter awoke with the pounding on his head. Opening his eyes he realised that even the tiny specks of dim light that escaped the curtains were too bright for his over sensitive eyes. And from his room alone, he could here the Avengers from the common room floor having their conversations.
He could hear it so clearly.
Steve, he could hear, was talking with Wanda about training programs. Sam and Clint were playing Mario Cart by the sounds of it and Natasha and Tony were talking about... him?
Peter then groaned at his realisation.
Sensory overload.
How else would he be able to hear the whole team's conversations distinctly from a four to five floors up? He looked to his side seeing the time, six thirty in the morning. Tony would wake him in a few minutes he was sure. And wanting to just lay in bed, he waited till Tony would open the door to his room.
True to his assumptions, Tony did open the door a few minutes later. But the light coming from the hallway was highly disturbing to Peter's sensitive eyes. So he groaned at the pain it brought, using his too big of a blanket to cover his head.
Peter could hear how Tony let out his 'silent' laughs at his actions.
"Come on Pete. If you're awake might as well get up."
"No. Too loud. Everything's too bright." He complained.
He felt a part of his bed sink due to the weight that was applied there.
"Sensory overload I take it?" Tony quietly said under his breath, trying not to be too loud to Peter's ears. Tony could barely hear himself say it but he was sure that it was painfully loud and clear to Peter.
Peter hummed in response.
"Shit. I'm sorry buddy," Tony said, feeling sorry for his the kid.
"FRIDAY? Turn down all lights in the penthouse and Avenger's common floor down by 50%." He ordered.
"Done Boss." FRIDAY answered a few seconds later. "However I would like to say that Mr Barton is very annoyed by the sudden change."
"Well tell him to suck it up." Tony retorted.
He turned to look at Peter, who's face was now shyly peeking out of the covers.
"Better?" Tony asked.
"Yea. Thank you." Peter thanked, slowly getting out of bed and walking to Tony who's hand was stretched out for him to take. Which he did to support himself.
They carefully made their way to the elevator where the lights which were already dim were now dimmer. Tony could barely make out Peter's face, and if someone else standing on the opposite end of the lift with them, Tony was sure he would not be able to see them.
They reached the common room where Clint and Sam were still playing Mario Cart like Peter had heard and Steve and Wanda were just talking. Natasha was eating at the kitchen counter where Peter inhaled the amplified smell of fresh pancakes.
"You look like shit." Clint commented at Peter who winced at the loud sound.
"He's got an intense headache." Tony half-lied, trying to keep his voice low but at the same time loud enough for the Rogues to hear. Also he couldn't just tell the Rogues Peter had sensory overload. They would question why Peter would have that.
"How come?" Wanda asked, walking over to Peter.
"It just... happens... sometimes," Peter answered quietly. Then he felt the familiar prick of the needles (but more intensified) on his neck alerting him that Wanda trying to read his mind. He knew she was just trying to figure out why he had a headache. And was trying to help but there were other things, that he were secret he didn't want her to know just yet.
"Can you not read my mind?" He blurted out. He knew she had barely done it yet surely surprised on how he could sense it so quickly. He was sure she would question how he knew so quickly but she didn't. Instead she just lowered her steadily lifting hand and just sighed.
"Apologies. I should have asked first." She muttered.
He was grateful that she didn't push.
He sat down next to Natasha who greeted him in russian. 'Доброе утро, маленький паучок'. He nodded not knowing what she said, and started wolfing down his breakfast that Tony had made for him and the team before going upstairs to change. Tony silently followed him up.
"You don't need to go to school today you know." Tony muttered once they were alone in the lift.
"But I have to. I can't miss more days and classes!" Peter exclaimed silently. "I also have... the permission slip to give Mr Harrington..." Peter added.
He did his usual morning routine here at the tower, brushed his teeth, change his clothes and walked down to the lobby. But he didn't have time rush, because today (Wednesday) was Happy's day off, and Tony, would be driving him to school.
"You've got your sunglasses and earpods with you?" Tony asked. Peter needed those necessities when he had his sensory overload.
"I've got 'em." Peter assured as they walked to Tony's private garage of extremely expensive cars.
Looking around Tony turned to Peter asking which car would Peter like for Tony to take him to school.
"Umm, the... red Bugatti Chiron Profilée?" Peter asked timidly, knowing the car cost a shit ton of money.
"Of course bambino."
Peter wondered if he should bring it up. The subject of whether he should tell the other Rogues about him being Spiderman. He kept eerily quiet throughout half the drive much to Tony's discomfort.
"I can practically here you thinking kiddo." Tony murmured. "What's up?"
"'S just... Should I tell the others about the other me?" Peter asked. "It's just that I'm scared of their reactions but at the same time, I kind of trust them enough to tell them?" He rambled.
"I just don't know whether I should tell them." Peter added.
"Whatever you choose I'll support and be proud of you." Tony replied. "But in my opinion, if you say you trust them enough, you should tell them. And yeah, they're reactions might differ from what you expect but I'm sure they'll warm up to you being your alter ego eventually."
"What about Mr Rogers? What if he hurts you again? I don't want that to happen just because I told him my secret!" Peter exclaimed, voice getting louder as he ignored the painful ringing in his ears.
"Woah. Peter. Calm down. Capsicle isn't going to hurt me. I promise." Tony assured as he placed a hand on Peter's shoulder. "Nothing will happen to me. Sure their reactions might differ from what you might have expect, but they'll all eventually warm up to your alter ego."
"And if you're not ready to tell them, then you're not. Don't force yourself." Tony firmly said.
“Okay.” Peter agreed. “I’m think I’m not gonna tell them.”
”Think?”
“I’m not going to tell them.” Peter corrected. “For now.”
Tony smiled and ruffled his hair gently to not aggravate Peter’s touch sense.
After a few minutes of silence, Tony dropped Peter off a little before Peter reached his school, because they both knew that Peter hated too much attention. And coming out of a multi million dollar car would definitely attract attention from his classmates.
“See you after school Underoos.” Tony bid.
”See you later dad.” Peter giggled putting on his special sunglasses that blocked out most light and his earpods, then giving his dad mentor a wave goodbye anyway.
Tony had denied the warm feeling he always felt that crept into him whenever Peter called him ‘dad’, whether jokingly or not.
***
”You better have signed your permission slip loser,” Came a familiar monotone female voice.
”M-MJ!” Peter yelped in surprise, a little to loudly which caused him to wince. “Um yeah, my guardian signed it for me since my Aunt’s out of town.” He rummaged through his bag before pulling out the permission slips along with the NDAs.
Seemingly satisfied with her expression said anything, she looked up at him before asking, “Are you alright? You’ve got that sensory overload thing right? You’re wearing your sunglasses and earpods.”
He was glad that she kept her voice low.
”Yeah. It just happens sometimes.”
“Feel better tomorrow.” She said as she walked away.
Peter felt himself blush as his heart fluttered.
Mr Harrington gathered them all in front of him before starting to go through all the precautions and restrictions that Stark Industries had in place. Like no bullying, smoking, touching things that are in the labs unless told to do so, no disturbing the staff etc. Violation of any of the restrictions would result in being kicked out of the tower. While they were at it, Mr Harrington had also explained the security installed at Stark Industries. The whole building was ran by FRIDAY, Tony’s AI which only responded to Tony, Pepper, The Avengers and personal friends.
All in all, it meant Peter getting bored about 5 minutes into the briefing since he knew every single piece of information Mr Harrington was going on about. Even mouthing certain parts of information word by word from boredom, much to Ned’s amusement.
After what seemed to be hours, Peter had quickly gotten out of the gym after bidding Ned and MJ goodbye, quickly enough that Flash couldn’t confront him about tomorrow. He walked out the front gates to see a white Bugatti (again). But when he recognised the model took a huge step back.
It was a Centodieci. There were only ten of them ever made! And what was better was Pepper Potts stepping out of that car elegantly.
“Hi Peter!” Pepper greeted quietly, seeing the sunglasses as a sign of sensory overload. She then went to hug him gently which Peter happily returned.
“Hey Pepper,” Peter returned still admiring the car. Which Pepper noticed.
”Tony had gotten it for me.” Pepper explained. “Only ten in the world.”
“Y-yeah…” Peter muttered in awe.
“Well get in. I want to here all about school today.”
Once they settled in the car and Pepper drove off, did Peter noticed something off.
”Um. Pepper?”
“Yes dear?” Pepper sweetly replied.
”I thought Tony was fetching me today? Not that you fetching me isn’t great and all I was just-”
Peter cut himself as Pepper laughed softly and went to card her fingers through his curls.
”Peter. I understand what you’re trying to get at.” Pepper soothed. “Tony had a meeting that he absolutely could not miss so I decided to fetch you today.”
”Oh. Thanks.”
“It’s no problem sweetie.”
***
”We’re back!” Pepper announced to the team. Peter tried his very hardest not to flinch at the sudden loud shout which Pepper apologised for a second later. Clint and Sam just said a hey while Steve and Wanda had both said a ‘Hello, welcome back’ while Natasha just nodded.
“Well if it isn’t my two favourite people.” Tony said as he stood up from the kitchen counter, giving Pepper a kiss on the cheek and ruffling Peter’s hair.
“Hello to you too Tony,” Pepper greeted with a roll of her eyes before walking away and sitting next to Natasha.
”Hey dad.” Peter said with a smile.
Tony smiled back, telling home how they were going to have dinner before going to the lab to tinker and help Peter with his homework, which Peter gladly agreed to.
Dinner was much better than the last two, neither Peter nor Rhodey had to ask a general question for conversation to start. Sure today was just small talk but at least they could talk without feeling the tension. It was a start! And Peter was happy for them. But sensory overload is a bitch and the constant small talks and conversations were hurting his ears. He tried his hardest to not let any of his discomfort show but there were times he would slowly look up from his food to see Tony glancing at him worriedly. So some of his discomfort must have shown itself.
To not be rude, Peter very slowly ate his food. He didn’t want to eat his food the way he normally did to just sit at dining table for 5 minutes and then get up and leave. That looks rude. Telling the Avengers to quieten down was rude too. So he endured through the loud chatter of the Avengers none of them (or most of them. He was sure Tony noticed) realising how much the noise really hurt is ears.
It was 30 minutes later than did Peter stand up to put his plates away to wash. Tony quickly chewed the rest of his food, put his and Peter’s plates in the dishwasher before walking to his personal lab.
There he found Peter placing his homework on the side workbench where Tony also put his cups of coffee on. Peter didn’t even look up probably having heard Tony’s footsteps when he exited the elevator.
"How're you feeling Pete?" Tony softly asked.
"Like my ears are gonna pop off any minute..." Peter whispered.
"Why didn't you say anything? I'm sure the others would understand."
"It just... sounds very rude."
"I don't care if it's rude or not because my kid is suffering, and I don't like that." Tony shot.
A smile tugged on Peter's lips as he hugged Tony.
Notes:
I had to freaking research on what colours does a Bugatti Chiron Profilée come in...
I’ve gotta have Tony calling Peter bambino at least ONCE in the whole fic! It's a crime not to. And we do not disrespect Pepper Potts in this household.
Having to end chapters, are a pain in the asses.
Chapter 4: Field Trips Suck. Specially When You Have An Embarrassing Dad

Chapter Text
Peter sat on one of the lounge seats around the reception desk, the receptionist, Mrs Mcclure, smiled at him knowing that he was waiting for his decathlon team to come.
Tony had called the school yesterday to tell them that Peter would be waiting at the tower for them. When they questioned it, Tony had explained that it would be unnecessary for Peter to go to school only to come back home. The same when they were leaving after the tour. Peter would not need to take the bus back to Midtown and would stay at the tower.
Tony had told him that the bus would come at about 9am and currently it's 8:50 in the morning. His mentor had shooed him to the first floor with his badge to wait for his classmates with a mischievous smile plastered on his face. Something Peter had been thinking about for the past 10 minutes.
But now he just sat on the soft sofa, knees up towards his chest while he waited for his classmates. He could practically hear Ned shouting 'Peter! Oh my god it's Stark Industries!'.
Or maybe he was literally hearing it.
His head shot up as he saw the bus arrive outside the glass doors and not to his surprise, Flash stepped out first. He groaned, knowing that Flash was going to keep bugging him the whole time they were here. Thank the gods for Ned and MJ.
"Look! It's Puny Parker!" Flash called. "What're doing here huh? Thought you chickened out when you weren't on the bus."
"Shut up Flash." Ned shot, "Peter didn't take the bus cause it's stupid to go to school only to come home."
Flash scoffes loudly, "As if Penis lives in the tower. I bet he's never even been in close proximity of Tony Freaking Stark."
Peter thought of all the times where Tony would ruffle his hair or out his arm around his shoulders. Yeah, he has been very close proximity with Tony Stark.
Ned and Flash continued to fight over whether Peter had stays at the tower or not. Peter couldn't bother to listen to Flash grumble over how Peter was too stupid to even earn an internship at Stark Industries. Instead, he stood up and walked over to their tour guide, who he recognized as Kemp, the Intern Head for Finance.
"Hey Pete." Kemp greeted, "I take it that you're on the tour today?"
"Yep!" Peter replied. "Do you know what we're gonna do today?"
"Oh I assure you it will be fun for your classmates." Kemp stated as he read the itinerary on his clip board. "But for you? I'm sure Mr Stark has tried his very hardest to make you embarrassed." He started laughing as he continued reading.
Peter groaned. "Well, can you tell me? So i'd at least be prepared for what I'm going to go through..."
Kemp chuckled as he patted Peter's shoulder, "I'm afraid Mr Stark has given me strict orders to not tell you anything."
Peter sighed.
"Thanks anyway Mr Kemp."
He walked away from Kemp and towards where Ned stood frustrated next to MJ who seemed (and proabably is) impassive.
"Don't bother too much on whatever Flash said Ned," Peter said, seeing the sour face on his friend's face.
"We all know he's just an asshole. Continue the bullying and he'll just get kicked out." MJ added.
Peter eyed the sketchbook in her hands. The sketchbook she used to draw people's shocked, scared or angry expressions. And Peter knew that she was no doubt going to sketch Flash's face when he sees Tony.
Who would unfortunately, definitely make an appearance.
"Okay!" Kemp called. "We're gonna do I quick debrief of what you teacher, I'm sure as gone though with you yesterday."
"As you know, Stark Industries has some secretive projects that are on going that you'll definitely come across, so no cameras allowed. No bullying, smoking or starting away from the group is allowed." Kemp started. "There 10 levels of badges. Level 1 is for you guys, 2 for press, 3 to 6 are for interns, employees and security respectively."
"As I'm an Intern Head, my badge level is higher as I need more clearance." He pulled out his badge, "This is a level 7 badge. 8 is for the Head Of Departments, excluding Mr Stark of course." He continued. "Level 9 is for the Avengers, and Level 10 is for Mr Stark, Pepper Potts and close personal friends like Happy Hogan, Colonel Rhodes and someone you're all familiar with-"
No. Please Mr Kemp. No. Peter thought frantically, shooting the man pleading eyes. The man only returned with some what smypathetic eyes, telling Peter that Tony had given him a literal script for him to read.
"-Peter over there."
Peter face when red with embarrassment, he looked away as he watched eyes turn to him. He could hear how they were whispering about him.
"Parker has a level 10 badge?!"
"Right? Holy shit."
Then Flash's loud comment.
"Ain't no fuc- freaking way!"
MJ was frantically sketching down Flash's reaction next to him while Ned was sniggering loudly.
"Yes. As Mr Stark's personal intern, Peter needs to go wherever Mr Stark does." Kemp explained, "That's why he has such high clearance."
"Now if you'll follow me, I'll need you to go through security before entering the buliding."
Kemp gestured to the security guards and tools behind the receptionist. Flash surprisingly held back, he walked towards Peter who was sure would taunt him on how the level 10 badge was fake.
"I'm sure you laid them to say that." Came Flash's voice. "There is no way you've got a level 10 badge. Even if you do, you probably just bought it on EBay."
Peter, Ned and MJ could tell he was just trying to provide excuses to deny the fact that Peter had a level 10 badge.
"Flash Thompson. Level 1." Came FRIDAY's voice.
Having being briefed on FRIDAY yesterday, no one really jumped at the voice from above.
"Peter Parker. Level 10. Designated: Personal Intern 'O Mine. " FRIDAY said. "I have already informed Boss during the start of the field trip Peter. Protocol: Embarrass Underoos has already been started."
Peter groaned for what just have been the umpteenth time.
"Would you like me to tell Boss anything Peter?" FRIDAY politely asked.
"Yes. Tell Tony he's super annoying for doing this!" Peter grumbled.
Mr Harrington looked horrified that Peter had the audacity to call Tony Stark by his first name, let alone be so rude to one of the richest people in the world.
Then a video clip of Tony speaking through FRIDAY's files was inserted.
"Sorry Pete, but you know I'll take any opportunity I have to embarrass my favorite intern."
Peter huffed in frustration.
Ned was full on laughing.
MJ was furiously sketching most of the faces their classmates were wearing.
Kemp was smiling.
"Yes, Mr Stark can be very annoying sometimes. It's very normal. Happens everyday." Kemp said to Mr Harrington who stiffly nodded.
When they were all in the elevator, Peter ignored his teammates stares and Flash's comments on how he had definitely paid Tony Stark to do that.
"Level 25. Coding and Intern Testing Lab 1." FRIDAY announced.
"Okay everyone. We'll be going to Lab 1 to see what some of the interns have been working on. We will have to pass by the Coding Team so please do not harass them. They are extremely busy."
The other team members didn't seem as interested in what the coding department had to do and barely spared a second glance at them. Peter and Ned were however silentlt going on about what they were coding. MJ was just muttering 'nerds'.
"Hey Peter!" Someone in the department called.
Peter brought his attention to the person who called his name. Apparently he wasn't the only one who heard the person, who has Peter recognized as Gwanda, called him.
"Hey Gwanda." He greeted, going over to her.
Kemp didn't seem to mind Peter going over to Gwanda at all, but Mr Harrington sure did. To be fair, in his eyes he only saw his student going over to talk with one of the employees in Stark Industries, which was something against what Kemp had said.
"Peter! Get back here right now!" Mr Harrington called.
"Oh don't worry. Peter's not disturbing them. In fact he's helping them." Kemp assured the stressed teacher.
"Are you sure he's not going to make anything worse? Parker pretty much messes up everything in school." Flash commented.
Kemp glanced at the boy, not sure why the kid was so out to get at Peter's faults. "If that's true, then I can assure you that Peter is the exact opposite here in the tower. He's the one we call when we need to double check something."
Flash shut his mouth after hearing what Kemp had to say.
Peter thanked Kemp for sticking up for him. He never really thought that the interns would go to him for help immediately. He always thought he was something like a last resort.
"So what can I help you with Gwanda?" Peter asked.
"The coding for the new StarkPhone." Gwanda murmured. "I can't seem to get it right. And I have to give it in to the Head by tonight."
She turned the screen towards Peter who quickly analyzed the code and quickly started typing. It took him a minute or so to brush up the code, typing insanely fast.
After Gwanda reread the code she turned to Peter with a satisfied smile muttering a thank you so much before returning to her work.
Peter turned around expecting to see barely anyone paying any attention to him only for the opposite to be true. His teammates eyes we're glued to his face, shocked.
"Did he just help program the new StarkPhone?"
"What The Fuck."
Peter walked towards Ned who he gave a tiny high five and MJ gave him a tiny slightly impressed nod. Which is for normal human standards, being very impressed.
They entered Lab 1 where they was met withany projects lying on the side benches. No matter big or small, they all caught some attention. Peter was not really fazed by it seeing as he made more impressive stuff than this. Examples were his Spiderman suit and Tony's Iron Man suit.
And this is supposed to be a secret but Tony has just recently been teaching him how to fix an Arc Reactor.
"See these tools?" Kemp said, "You guys are going to need them. Go into groups of three and find a table. Try to use all your tools to make whatever you want. You have thirty minutes, the best one will be chosen to be worked on and improved by the R&D Department."
"I think that's a huge honour to have." Kemp added.
Peter, Ned and of course MJ worked together as a team and went to the table furthest away from Flash to avoid any disturbance.
"What are we making losers?" MJ asked.
"Robots?" Ned asked.
"A Robot that can fly upon command!" Peter said. "We have a bunch of tools to make even a miniature one." He said gesturing to the tools in the middle of the table consisting of many many wires, scraps of metal, and the other necessary things needed to bulid a robot that can fly upon command. (Very conveniently)
Obviously, Peter, Ned and MJ won. Kemp seems amazed at what they have managed to accomplish.
"Congratulations, you guys won!" Kemp announced. "How did you even make this on time?"
"Peter did the coding. I did the wiring and MJ was the designer." Ned explained.
"Ya, it's not like you guys cheated."
"How could we have cheated Flash?" MJ retorted, "We have the same things you guys have. You just don't have the eye for see the potential for what you can build. And it's not Peter's fault he's smarter than you." MJ defended.
Flash turned away and scoffed.
MJ smirked at her victory.
Peter muttered a tiny thanks.
***
Recently, Tony hasn't done anything to embarrass Peter yet. But he knew that it wouldn't stay that way. Tony loved to embarrass him. Something he only found out today. So when Peter spotted Kemp press the 76th floor, he sighed knowing what was on that floor.
The Avengers' training room which Peter had been too the last two days to train under Natasha.
"Ned. Later, please try to contain your excitement." Peter whispered.
"Why? Oh my god. Peter are we going to somewhere special?" Ned asked excitedly.
"You can say that. It's the Avengers' training room 1." Peter grumbled. "I'm pretty sure Natasha and Clint are going to be there."
"Holy shit!" Ned exclaimed in a whispered voice, "Peter! That's the Black Widow and Hawkeye!"
"Did you just say Black Widow?" MJ asked.
"Ya. You like her?" Peter asked.
"Yes. Of course. Natasha Romanov kicks ass." MJ answered.
"I thought you like Pepper?" Peter asked.
"Yes. Her and Black Widow."
The elevator suddenly opened and their team mates began to fill out of the lift when they started gasling and shouting. Pointing in the direction that Peter recognized as the direction of the Avengers' training room.
And he was right.
Natasha along with Clint were there. Sparring.
Peter found their fight just as interesting if not more interesting than the fight between Natasha and Wanda without using her powers.
Clint shot arrows that seeked after Natasha, who, to get them off her back, purposefully ran towards a nearby pillar before back flipping away from it, causing the arrows to hit the wall and give out tiny explosions. Everybody then gasped as they saw how the wall, which was dented a few seconds ago was back to normal, no hint that arrows had ever struck it.
The two SHIELD agents stopped fighting when they noticed the crowd they had. And Peter noticed how they both caught his eye and waved, Clint not being as subtle as Natasha.
"Hey kid!" Clint called. Most of the students turned to each other wondering which student he was calling out to.
Clint jumped towards them and walked through the crowd and stopping when he got to Peter, who he out an arm around.
"Want to spar with us?" Clint asked.
Peter looked at Kemp who nodded in approval, making Peter's assumptions about Tony setting this all up, more justified.
"Did Dad tell you to do this?" Peter whined.
"Yep." Came Natasha's voice. "And maybe we should let another student go first Birdbrain. Peter's already trained with us before."
Mr Harrington and all the students (excluding Ned and MJ because they already knew) turned to him in shock.
"What?!"
"Parker's smart, knows Tony Stark and the Avengers"
"Nah, he's got the best life there is!"
Flash just snorted, clearly not believing this.
Natasha silenced them all with a raise of a finger. Apparently everyone still is scared of the infamous Black Widow.
"Now, who would like to come up here and have a friendly spar?"
Flash immediately raised his hand to absolutely none of the students surprise.
Clint still had his arm around Peter as he watched Flash go up to Natasha to have a 'friendly' spar. Which is not good. There is no friendly spar when you're up against Natasha Romanov.
"Kid's gonna get pinned in half a minute. Trust me." Clint muttered to Peter.
Peter didn't doubt that claim at all.
They watched as Natasha and Flash got into a defensive stance. Peter could see that Natasha had no openings at all while Flash had a lot. She could easily kick him the stomach or ribs if she really wanted too. Or just kill him.
But Flash is an innocent kid. And that's illegal.
Flash immediately lunged at Natasha who tPeter could see tried her hardest not to hit Flash with a lot of force whe she kicked his sides. Flash fell onto the ground and groaned in pain.
"Huh. You know what? Never mind. In five seconds seems just about right." Clint commented.
Peter started giggling quietly as he watched Flash slowly get up frustrated he got beat but ecstatic that he got to fight with Black Widow.
Then a few more people raised their hands, and after Natasha beat the second student even faster, no one seemed to think hey stood a chance. So when Natasha shit Peter a glance, Peter knew she was not asking him to come spar with her. She was demanding that Peter come and fight her.
"Давай, маленький паук."
Peter sighed. He ducked out of Clint's arm and slowly walked towards the mat where Natasha was standing on. He stood on the opposite side, in his own defense position that left no gals for any hits.
"я научил тебя хорошо, я вижу."
"Can you teach me Russian later today?" Peter asked as Natasha ran towards him.
"Maybe." Natasha answered as she dodged her incredibly (and unusually) high kick from Peter. "It will be nice to converse with you without your father snopping."
"Thanks." Peter muttered breathless as he jumped over Natasha to kick her from the back.
"Also your father has more in store for you." Natasha added as she turned around fast enough to dodge Peter's hit and instead tripped Peter's legs over himself.
"Oh come on!" Peter whined as he fell onto the floor. And he didn't say that only because he fell.
"I'm terribly sorry." Natasha replied. Peter had now grabbed her arm to propel himself over her again and while at it, he applied much pressure to her back causing her to fall onto the floor.
"Well you don't sound very sorry." Peter murmured, breathless as Natasha quickly got up and pinned him down.
"That's because I'm really not."
Peter flipped her off him easily and turned her on her back. With his spider strength, lifting up a human was a slice of cake.
Yeah he beat Black Widow. Sure she had only started teaching him how to combat two days ago, but come on. Yesterday once his sensory overload was better, he had begged Natasha to teach him how to spar. And there is alot an ex-russian spy can teach a super smart, fast learner and spider enhanced, 16 year old teenager. Not that she knew he was spider enhanced. (Or maybe she does?)
Or maybe he also beat her because she was holding back. Tony would kill Natasha if she had hurt him.
Natasha smirked, as she whispered, "Good job маленький паук."
"You've been saying that a lot lately." Peter replied. "It's probably something really important that you know that you shouldn't know about me. " He added as he helped Natasha up.
Like Spider-Man. Peter thought.
"I can keep a secret."
"Dad said you could."
Clint rushed up to him and tackled him in arm lock.
"Kid you just beat Nat!" Clint cheered.
Peter shyly looked up to see Ned looking amazed while the other's shocked. MJ was sketching.
"At least we now know Peter can beat you." Natasha added.
"Oh I'm definitely stronger than you." Clint said as he let go of Peter, who instantly ran towards Ned.
"Holy shit Peter!" Ned exclaimed, "You just beat the Black Widow!"
"Ya I wonder how much you paid her to let you win Penis." Flash commented.
Peter watched with wide eyes as Natasha's and Clint's head immediately spun around to look at Flash dead in the eye after having heard the comment.
Well shit, Flash just might die today.
As much as Peter would love that, that would be illegal. He shot the two agents a look, one of those desperate and pleading 'Do not kill him please' looks, shaking his head furiously while at it. Clint seemed to slightly deflate but was still staring at Flash while Natasha eyes her communicator on her wrist.
Natasha continued to look at him and Flash, who had now just realized what he said and that the Black Widow and Hawkeye were staring daggers at him.
'Natasha no. Please do not call Dad.'
Natasha gave him a knowing look, before breaking eye contact putting on a smirk that Peter did not like.
Ned then whispered, "That was some very intense tension I felt just now."
"Yeah." Peter agreed.
As in the oh I'm definitely going to kill him kind of intense tension.
Notes:
Super cliche and I like that. Hah.
Chapter 5: A School Field Trip's Chaotic Hours

Omg! Is this a new chapter that is longer than usual and it's an early update!?
Why yes. Yes it's an early update with a longer chapter.
The Avengers have come around to like Peter. Let's say they're A BIT protective of Peter now. But still, it doesn't mean they shouldn't threaten Flash who's a literal child. But my fic my rules. 😛
Update: .... OMG THANK YOU GUYS FOR 100 KUDOS. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this fic!

They were headed for lunch at the moment. Everybody was still giving him stares, except Ned and MJ cause they already knew. But he still felt uneasy, he wasn't really one for attention if you didn't know that by now. He hated it when all eyes we're on him. It's just embarrassing.
'But not as embarrassing as what you're putting me through dad' Peter thought sourly, knowing Tony was probably cackling away somewhere in the tower.
"I'll watch the table you go get what you want to eat," Peter muttered to Ned and MJ as they reached the cafeteria.
"Do they have pizza? I wonder if they have pepperoni, you ham and cheese, or bacon." Ned excitely murnured.
"They have all three on one. It's number 15 at Stall 5." Peter told him, sitting down on one if the metal seats that surrounded a table in a corner.
He was looking around the place when he spotted a familiar male figure seating a few tables away, trying to hide his face in the pretense of reading a newspaper.
Who even reads newspapers nowadays?
"Uncle Rhodey is that you?" Peter called to the man with the unmistakable leg braces.
"You found me!" He said sarcastically as he put the newspaper down. "And before you ask, Tones put me up to this." He added as he walked over to Peter seating next to him.
Peter sighed, "Next thing you know Mr Rogers, and Mr Wilson are gonna be at the Avengers museum we're gonna visit later."
The Avengers Museum and the History of Stark Industries Museum was a must go when your taking a tour of the tower. And since Peter's team hasn't been to either yet, he's sure they're going to them sooner or later. But when he saw Rhodey's impressed face, he knew that he and his classmates are going to see Captain-fucking-America and Falcon when they're going to Avengers Museum later.
Peter knocked his head on the table and groaned. (And it's not because of the pain when he hit the table) Rhodey laughed at his antics, patting his back lightly as he continued laughing.
"You're no better than Tony, Uncle Rhodey." Peter murmured.
"I think you'll change your mind at the end of the day." Rhodey added with a smirk.
"Peter is that War Machine next to you?" Ned exclaimed as he saw the famous figure sitting next to a grumbling Peter.
"Hey. Your Ned right? Peter's talks about you a lot."
"Oh my god War Machine knows my name."
"Have fun talking with him. I'm gonna get food." Peter mumbled as he walked away, already hearing Ned ask an amused Rhodey a bunch of questions.
Peter walked along the long aisle of stalls, not knowing what to choose, finally deciding on the Shawarma shop he has fallen in love so very fortunately fallen in love with.
"Hey Mr Ibrahim. The usual please." Peter ordered.
Mr Ibrahim nodded before going to the tall tower of meat.
"Shouldn't you be in school kid?" Mr Ibrahim asked.
"Yeah. But I've got a field trip to the tower today." Peter replied, leaning onto the front desk as he breathed in the delicious smell of Shawarma.
"Imagine that. Field trip to your own home. Stark's probably going to embarrass the heck outta ya."
"Oh he's already doing that." Peter deadpanned as Mr Ibrahim handed him his piping hit Shawarma. "Thanks Mr Ibrahim." Peter added as he paid for the food with his incredibly stocked Stark Industries credit card that Tony had given him.
"No problem kid. Have fun."
As Peter walked away mumching on his Shawarma, he heard someone follow him from behind, and he could tell it was Flash. Can't the guy just give him a break to enjoy his food?
"What do you want Flash?" Peter asked, absently taking another bite of his food.
"How do you know that at all owner? Or Black Widow and Hawkeye? There's no way you, Puny Parker can beat Black Widow." Flash taunted.
"There's a lot of things you don't know about me. Or you just don't want to believe." Peter replied, sreadily walking towards his table where Ned and MJ were now conversing with Rhodey.
"Oh like your stupid internship you've been trying so hard to prove is true?" Flash retorted. "You probably never even been in the same vicinity as Tony Stark. You probably paid them all to recognize you."
Then Peter saw from the corner of his eye, Flash smirking. And Peter knew he wasn't going to like what Flash was going to do it out of his mouth next.
"Or have you become Stark's new boy toy hmm?" Flash laughed. "You know how Tony Stark used to be in the past."
"Excuse me?! What did you just accuse Peter of?" Rhodey exclaimed loudly, having overheard Flash's last sentence.
Flash then now realised that he was facing the War Machine, someone who has served the army and has taken down plenty of enemies. And could definitely kill him.
Again, illegal.
"U-um. Nothing! Pe- Parker and I were just fooling around!" Flash answered. "Right Parker?" Flash added, with a threatening edge in his voice as if saying 'you better go along or you're dead meat'.
"I think that's a bit too far for just playing around." Came a more female voice from behind Flash.
Peter immediately snapped his head at the new person who has intruded into the conversation. And of course, Peter saw Wanda looking a little angry.
"Please Miss Maximoff." Peter begged. "Don't do anything. He's just a kid."
Wanda seemed to deflate at Peter's statement before nodding at him and Rhodey, giving a little wave as she walked away with food in her hand.
Rhodey turned to Flash who was looking a little frazzled, "Now why don't you go back to you table and stop bothering Peter?"
Flash nodded and walked away quickly to his table at the other end of the cafeteria.
"Why didn't you tell Tony he's bullying you?" Rhodey questioned.
"There was never an opening to say anything." Peter shrugged.
"Tony needs to know this is happening Pete."
"Ya I know. You can tell him. It's fine. Wasn't planning on hiding it." Peter replied.
With a final pat on his shoulder, Rhodey bid him, Ned and MJ goodbye, no doubt going to Tony to address the matter.
Peter sighed as he sat down next to Ned and continues eating his now warmer Shawarma.
"Mr Rhodes is cool." MJ admitted from across the table.
Peter smiled as he replied, "Yeah, he is."

"Okay Midtown's AcaDeca Team!" Kemp called as they were going down the elevator to the 20th floor. "We're going to the see the History of Stark Industries Museum. Where we'll take you back in time to see how Stark Industries became what it is today. After that we'll go to the Avenger's showcase room."
Peter watched as his classmates cheered at the idea if going to see the Avengers showcase room. Little did they know that the Stark History museum was just as awesome. He's only been there once, that was when he had first stayed over at the tower a few months back. It was awesome.
They reached the 20th floor where there was an old fashioned wooden door right outside the elevator door.
"Okay everyone. I need you to keep it down when we enter the museum okay?" Kemp instructed.
Everyone nodded.
Kemp slowly opened the wooden door and they stepped into a seeming black and empty room. Then suddenly dim lights were turned on at the corners of the room and the walls glowed a bright blue.
"Welcome to the History of Stark Industries Museum." FRIDAY announced. "Where we'll take you back in time with the use if holographic projections."
His teammates gasped as a projection of the old building version of Stark Industries appeared before them.
"Stark Industries has been passed down for generations. From Howard Stark's father to him and from Howard Stark to Tony Stark. And now the CEO of Stark Industries is Pepper Potts. The first ever non-Stark to run the Industry. However Tony Stark stills owns the company. " FRIDAY began. As holographic projections of Howard, Tony, and Pepper appeared with then signing ownership of the company.
"If you would follow the light," FRIDAY said, and the team followed the dim lighting in awe as they watched from side to side, projections of different weapons, people and what not appeared.
"At first, Stark Industries was a company that manufactured weapons for the US military." Missiles were showed before the AcaDeca team with the name Stark Industries imprinted on them. "But after a series of events following the kidnapping of Tony Stark, Justin Hammer and a few others. Stark Industries has became a company that is trying to help the Human Society with clean green energy powered by a huge arc reactor hundreds of feet in the ground."
A huge hologram now showed a minature sized version of Stark Industries and the arc reactor beneath it.
"Then of course Stark Tower was then renamed Avemger's tower after the attack of New York, and was now a tower where the Avengers stayed in, and where a company runs." FRIDAY continued.
"As I'm sure you know, Stark Tower was nearly sold, but in a last minute decision, Tony Stark had decided not to sell the tower and instead kept it. Stark Industries has continued to be the top grossing technology company in the whole world." FRIDAY announced, and when the projections stopped, everyone found them selves in the same room where they all entered.
"Cool isn't it?" Kemp asked.
"Yes!" Most of the class seemed to scream in unison.
"How does the projections work?"
"How does everything work in there?
"Was it expensive to do this?"
"How big actually was the place?"
Kemp laughed as he quietened the group, "Okay one at a time."
"The projections were made by Tony Stark and a few others after a bit of tweaking from someone special," Kemp winked at Peter who flushed, "The museum became something much much different from your normal history museums." Kemp answered the first question.
"I think I had also answered the second question I heard which was how most things work in here. Yes it was quite pricey to make this floor, at least to me it was. To Tony Stark he probably recovered the money he spent on this floor in about a day."
"How much was it?!"
"Over a few hundred million." Kemp stated simply.
Jaws were dropped in shocked and whispers emerged, "He's that rich?" "Holy shit."
"The level is as large as any other level. It's just the wire work and coding take up some space hence it feels like the level is much smaller." Kemp replied, "Now if there aren't any questions. Let's go to down a floor, to the Avengers showcase museum."
Everybody chattered excitedly on what awaited them a floor below.
Peter knew what awaited him. A boat load of embarrassment.
He his behind Ned and stood next to MJ. Ned seemed just as excited as the rest to see the Avengers showcase museum, MJ just seemed imapssive as always.
"Hey loser." MJ whispered to him, "When Kemp said that a special someone had tweaked the projections, was it you?"
"Oh you realised that?" Peter asked in surprise, "Tony had asked me to check the coding and after a did a few adjustments, we finally tested it and it worked."
"Sometimes I forget how kuch of nerd you are Parker." MJ muttered.
And coming from MJ that meant that she was impressed. And to Peter, that meant a lot.
"Okay everyone! We're here. You have about 25 minutes to look around. On this level you're allowed to take pictures. Have fun." Kemp announced as he clapped his hands. "I'll be waiting outside if you need anything." He added as everyone walked into the museum.
Peter looked around, noticing how it was different from last time. Immediately he saw the Iron Man section which Ned and him ran towards, MJ shaking her head as she followed them.
"Holy shit, Peter do you know what Mark this is?" Ned asked.
"Umm," Peter started as he looked at the side of the right leg. "Mark XLII (43)."
"Oh my god. Selfie!" Ned exclaimed as he held out his phone.
Ned tugged MJ into the picture much to her protests, Ned put an arm around Peter as he held the phone up high, making sure all three of them were in frame. Peter held out a peace sign as he stuck his tongue out, and MJ out on a reluctant smile as Ned took a photo of the three of them.
"Cool! I'm gonna send it into the Peter Parker Protection Squad Group Chat." Ned exclaimed. Peter groaned at the group name he definitely did not like.
Peter Parker Protection Squad
GuyInTheChair: *Photo*
My friends call me MJ: Cool
Yeeter Parker: @GuyInTheChair, you could have sent it to the group chat where Tony isn't in it.
IamIronMan: Hah, too late Pete. FRIDAY save to Spider-baby file.
My friends call me MJ: Haha lol.
GuyInTheChair: Sorry Peter.
"You know saying sorry to me verbally is more sincere right?" Peter deadpanned at Ned.
"I find it hilarious that Tony Stark has a whole file of pictures of you to use as blackmail material." MJ stated, "Maybe I should ask him to give me some of those."
"MJ!" Peter whined.
"Too bad loser."
"Hey Peter?" Ned called. "Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing?" Peter followed Ned finger in the direction he was pointing at. And there, he saw a Spider-Man section.
Peter's jaw nearly dropped open but he was to busy walking over to the case. He saw a replica of his homemade suit where there were little panels of information surrounding the suit.
"Hmm. Spider-Man is afraid of spiders." MJ said, and Peter could hear the smirk in her voice. "More blackmail material."
"Hey you try getting but ten by a radioactive spider and then get a freaking fever and vomit for three days straight and tell me spiders don't scare you." Peter retorted.
"Whatever loser."
"Hey, Peter look at this." Ned softly said.
Peter looked over at what Ned was pointing at. To any other person, it seemed like another piece of useless information but it meant the world to Peter. He never knew that. Tony had never ever told him that.
Iron Man's Favourite Superhero.
Peter would be lying if he said he isn't crying from joy.
"That's sentimental of Tony Stark." MJ commented.
"Who knew right? Definitely not me."
Peter groaned.
"Sam, we were supposed to be undercover!" Steve scolded, from a corner Peter was surprised he could fit in with his broad shoulders.
"Hey would you look at that. It's Captain America and The Falcon in horrible disguises." MJ deadpanned, "I mean you guys are 'Earth Mightiest Heroes' and you can't even find a suitable disguise?" MJ questioned.
"We had to make due with what we had." Sam shrugged. "Honestly, kid. Are you shocked that you're Stark's favourite?"
"No?" Sam quirked an eyebrow. "There's just so many other heroes out there!"
"Who did you think Mr Stark would like anyway?" Ned asked.
"Can we not talk about this? Yeah, we are not talking about this." Peter quickly said.
Over in the corner, Peter could see how one of his teammates, Abe (was it?), turn to look at Peter and the group before gasping incredibly loudly, pointing a finger at Steve and Sam. Abe wasn't stupid, those were the absolute worse disguises on the planet.
"Holy fucking shit! It's Captain fucking America and The fucking Falcon." Abe announced, with a bunch of unnecessary swear words in between words.
"Language son." Steve chided, casting Sam a sideways look as said person doubled over in laughter.
"Language he said." San muttered, seemingly unaffected by the stares from nearly all the students (and one teacher).
The rest of Peter, Ned and MJ's teammates immediately rushed over and bombarded the two heroes with their endless strings of questions. MJ rolled her eyes at the excitement her other teammates seemed to have over the two recently pardoned heroes, sighing when she saw Ned in the crowd.
Peter just ducked away from the scene, following MJ to the Black Widow showcase.
"I can't believe you know Black Widow personally." MJ commented as she read the information on Natasha's Widow bites.
"It just sorta comes with the lerks of knowing It Iron Man I guess." Peter replied.
"I didn't know Natasha's name was actually Natalia Alianovna Romanova..." Peter murmured. "Or that she was in a relationship with Bruce Banner!"
"Only uneducated people don't know that."
"I wasn't that huge of Black Widow fan to know that!" Peter defended, as he continued reading, "Natasha's biologically enhanced and was born in 1928!?"
What the fuck?
"Yep. She's so awesome. Just as awesome as Pepper Potts." MJ stated, not caring about Peter's shocked tone.
"That's means she's... 90 years old?!" Peter calculated.
"Yea. I didn't know it too." Came another voice, but from above.
Peter quickly looked up while MJ couldn't be bothered to care.
There, his face obvious to recognize, was Clint.
"What the fuck." Peter cursed, surprised that he isn't surprised at Clinics antics.
"Oh my god. Did you just swear?" Clint laughed, "Wait till Stark hears that his precious cinnamon roll isn't all that precious after all!" He added, jumping down from the vents.
"Yeah, you'd all be surprised." MJ continued.
"Hey! I'm not that bad!" Peter retorted.
"Keep telling yourself that."
"Also, where's your other friend? Ted was it?" Clint asked.
"He's over there," MJ pointed, where the crowd still was, with Mr Harrington trying to quietn down the students, and failing to do so. (Also failing to hide his own excitement) "Fanboying with all the other fans."
MJ now stood up, having finished reading about Natasha.
Kemp had also seen the excited teenagers and has now rushes over to pry the teenagers from the two heroes. Honestly, it was funny to watch.
Two of Earth's Mightiest Heroes being taken down by a bunch of teenagers with bombarding questions, and a teacher and Stark Industries employee trying to calm said teenagers.
"Let them suffer." Clint said, putting a hand on Peter's shoulder as Peter had made a move to help Steve and Sam.
"You're a great teammate to have on the battlefield I see. Very fantastic. You will definitely have your teammate's backs in a fight." Peter uttered sarcastically. But honestly, he can't help but smirk at letting Steve (not so much for Sam, cause he liked Sam Wilson okay?) suffer.
Soon after a good five minutes, with Clint grinning widely like an idiot if not laughing, Steve and Sam were saved and Peter's teammates looked disappointed that not all they're questions got answered.
"Oh come one guys!" Kemp encouraged, "What if you get to meet Tony Stark himself?" Nearly everyone perked up, save it for Peter and MJ, at Kemp's comment. "Though we may not necessarily be meeting him." He added.
May not? That's about a 65.43% chance if meeting his dad mentor. Do not ask why he had the specifics.
Peter sighed as he heard Clint giggle at Kemp comment from the ceiling vents which he had climbed back into quickly when he saw the teenagers approaching him.
Never mind. Make that 80.74%. Again, don't ask about the specifics.
"Okay, since your your is about to end with two final stops on our trip here at Stark Industries." Kemp announced, snatching Peter out of his thoughts as he took the students along with him.
"We'll visit the PR department, before we head to see something most your groups don't even get to see!" Kemp continued, passing for (stupid) dramatic effect.
"One of Tony Stark's personal labs!"
Well Fuck.

Thanks for reading my fic anyway.

Chapter Text
Peter didn't know what to think.Gues that 80.74% was right. They were definitely going to meet Tony now. Tony who was very protective over him and would not hesitate to kick anyone out of the tower if they made fun of Peter. So Peter only prayed that Flash wouldn't make an off handed comment about him, or call him 'Penis' Parker.
If Flash didn't say anything, he wouldnt be kicked out. And Tony would hopefully find no reason to embarrass Peter in front of his team.
It's a win, win situation right?
But for now, Peter and his teammates were going to the PR department. And honestly, Peter was initially slightly shocked that Kemp wasn't from the PR department. It was usually interns from that department that dealt with the tour groups.
Or maybe this field trip to Stark Industries is different because he's touring the place along with his teammates.
"Level 59. Public Relations Department." FRIDAY announced.
Everyone slowly filled out of the lift, Peter being the last as usual. Because this whole field trip was filled to the brim with Avengers and famous people walking around and incidentally (actually on purpose but nobody else but Peter knows that) bumping into Peter.
"As I'm sure most of you know, PR stands for Public Relations and is the department that deals with Stark Industries' ties with the public. They deliver company news and basically run the Stark Industries' social media accounts." Kemp started commentating.
"The PR department also deals with how to sell StarkPhones and any other projects and campaigns the Industry run. They also work hand in hand with my department, Finance." Kemp continued, "All in all the PR department is very important. And that's why Pepper Potts is the PR HOD."
"Yes, Tony can never run this department."
Why. Peter deadpanned.
Peter heard MJ gasp next to him as he watched, with dread, Pepper's eyes land on him. She gave him a little wink as she addressed the group. At least she wasn't as embarrassing as Tony or any of the other Avengers for calling him out.
Pepper is awesome and maybe she was here in her department on pure coincidence this time.
"Hello Midtown's Academic Decathlon team." She greeted in a cheery voice as usual, which Peter recognized as her 'press' voice. You know, the one where she forces herslef to sound more cheerful. "I'm sure all if you know my name." She added with a smile.
"Of course we do!" One of Peter's teammates, Cindy, exclaimed. Peter could only guess that she was another fab of Pepper just like MJ.
Pepper shot Cindy a quick smile before continuing, "Everybody in the department currently has important things to do. And I for once, finally do not have anything crucial to get to, so I'll introduce you to the PR department."
Okay maybe she might not be here on pure coincidence after all. She might (just might have) have cleared her timetable for this hour to take Peter's teammates through the PR department.
But that didn't stop Peter, to for once during this whole trip, go to the front of the group to be with Pepper who smiled genuinely at him. They walked slightly ahead if the group behind them to whisper to each other to not let Peter's teammates hear the conversation.
"Did Tony put you up to this?" Peter asked.
Pepper hummed in response, "I might've just cleared this hour. But not because Tony asked me too. I just wanted to see you."
"Well I'm not really surprised you did clear your hour." Peter remarked as Pepper started talking to the others behind them. Pepper may be talking to the others but he knows that she's listening to him. "But I don't know why you would want to see me. I mean I'm totally fine!"
Pepper turned to talk to him once they stopped walking for the class to look at the StarkPhones on display for tour groups.
"Well you know Tony. He takes whatever opportunity he has to embarrass people." Pepper said in an exasperated tone, her smile on her face betraying said tone.
"Especially people-" Pepper paused to tap his nose.
"-He loves"
Peter smiled at her before realising that MJ had been watching his whole interaction with Pepper, with a smile. Something that didn't show very often on someone like MJ's face.
"Okay. Now if you're all done with admiring the new StarkPhone, do you have any questions before we move on?" Pepper asked, turning her attention to the students, teacher and one employee.
"Okay Mr Dillon (Kemp). Why don't you take over for a while? I would like to talk with Peter here." She said as gesturing to him.
"O-of course Miss Potts." Kemp replied. "Okay everyone, follow me." He added.
Peter watched as Flash gave him an annoyed look before sticking out his tongue childishly, which made Ned and MJ push him away till they turned the corner.
"Peter, please follow me." Pepper stated, then seeing Peter's hesitant look, she smiled softly. "Don't worry, you're not getting in trouble. Tony and I... just want to talk with you." She cooed.
Peter nodded following Pepper into the private elevator watching as Pepper pressed level 80 which Peter knew to be Tony's private labs level.
They exited onto the level and made their way to the labs and just as Peter wondered where Tony was, he saw said man watching video feeds with a pinched expression. He saw Tony look up at the sound of footsteps and immediately stood up when he recognized who it was.
"Hey kiddo. Pepper and I just wanted to talk with you about something." Tony greeted the moment he and Pepper stepped into the lab, FRIDAY having identified then as usual.
"Umm, okay?" Peter hesitated, "Cause... I have a feeling that I'm not really gonna like the topic we're talking about." Peter mumbled.
"Don't worry. We're not gonna scold you." Tony assured as he stood next to Peter. "We just, received a notification from Nat when you visited her." Tony started. And he was hesitating on how he should bring up the topic. Him! Tony Stark! Hesitating.
"Oh." Peter realized, "I see where your going." He added looking down on his feet.
"Yeah bud. Why didn't tell us? Did May even know?" He asked softly.
He but on his lip hard, nearly drawing blood as he contemplated on how to answer. He shiyld've expected this. Natasha would definitely have filled Tony in on Peter's 'interaction' (which was more like bullying) with Flash.
"I... There just..."
Pepper placed a consoling hand on his shoulder while Tony just looked at him pitifully. Neither of them were mad, they were just, wondering (ya that's a good word), why he just didn't tell them.
To be honest, he didn't know why he didn't say so either.
"There wasn't really a time to tell you? It's just. It's not like I didn't want to tell you. I'm just not bothered too much about it to address it to you as a problem y'know? I never even meant to hide it from you!" Peter muttered, "And both of you are pretty busy all the damn time so... I don't know really."
"I just don't know how to explain it."
Peter knew that while he continued staring at how white his shoe laces abnormally were, Tony and Pepper shared a look above his head.
"We're always free to talk Peter." Pepper assured.
"Yep. Don't think we're never to busy for our favourite spider-ling." Tony continued, as Pepper then enveloped him and Tony into a little hug, where she kissed the top of his head lovingly.
Peter then realised that Tony and Pepper were acting exactly like how he imagined his parents to be.
Loving, caring and supportive.
He could only thank the gods for giving him people who cared deeply about him when Pepper had pulled away. And for the first time since he had stopped the vulture, he really thinks that he's extremely fortunate.
"So, where's this Flash guy?" Tony immediately asked, "I'm going to kick him out of the building the moment I freaking see him. And I'll make sure he doesn't go into any good fu- freaking colleges."
"I'm 15, turning 16 in like a week and a half. You can swear in front of me y'know." Peter stated when he heard Tony correct himself on the cursing.
"Yes! And about that! Legolas had crawled in the vents from the Avenger's Museum to here, for God's sake, and just to tell me you swore!" Tony exclaimed.
Pepper faked gasped behind him while Peter muttered a 'of course he did'.
"I did not raise you to be like this Peter Benjamin Parker." Pepper said in a mock tone of shock.
And Peter groaned at their antics but deep down, overly fond of it.
And not noticing the tour group walking out of the lift, they all cracked and laughed good heartedly.
So from the eyes of said tour group, they all saw Pepper Potts and Tony Stark, laughing hardly with a normal high schooler, at what must have been one heck of a conversation for them (mostly Tony) to be laughing so hard.
"What the hell?!" Came a awfully familiar voice.
The troops laughter died down at the intruders, and all their eyes had immediately landed on Flash who was the one who had spoken up.
"I'm gonna kick him out." Tony murmured to Peter and Pepper. Pepper didn't disagree while Peter seemed hesitant but wouldn't mind Flash being kicked out. (I mean if Flash weren't here, he would be enjoyed the field trip a bit more)
"As I'm sure Peter has told you, he interns personally for Tony Stark." Kemp said, "Therefore, also forging a deep relationship with Mr Stark, Miss Potts, and recently, the Avengers."
"Are you talking about Punt Parker?!" Flash exclaimed.
'Oh no no no no. Flash you better stop.' Peter thought as he saw Tony's eye twitch repeatedly. Pepper seemed better at controlling herself.
"What did you just say?" Tony asked Flash in his demanding tone, pointing an accusing finger at him.
Flash seemed to gulp at hearing Tony Stark demanding him to repeat what he said. And as no one disobeys Tony Stark, (except for maybe Peter and Pepper sometimes as they have the authority) Flash repeated what he said.
"I said there's no way Puny Parker is really interming for you." Flash repeated, still trying to sound brave.
"Well well well. I'm going to ruin all the chances this kid has at going to a good college." Tony uttered to Peter and Pepper, trying to contain his anger.
"Whatever you do just don't kill the boy." Pepper warned, seeing how Tony said expression still stayed the same she pressed. "Because it's illegal?!" She emphasized a lot on the illegal part.
Peter sighed.
"Alright kid." Tony addressed Flash, "You don't get to come into my tower, to bully and assault my kid and get away with it." Tony said, voice getting a little louder.
"So if you would be so kind as to wait outside for your school bus to come along, that would be great."
Flash didn't seem to need telling twice and dashed away to the elevator and down to the first floor. And Peter was most surprised that Mr Harrington didn't stop Flash as no student is supposed to go off on his own.
Guess Tony Stark is threatening even without the Iron Man suit.
"Well that's that." Tony muttered, and Peter smiled as he heard Ned laugh.
"I'm sorry Midtown but your time here is almost up," Pepper apologised, "As an apology, we'll give you a free StarkPhone. I'm sure Mr Stark wouldn't mind." She said, turning to look at Tony, her eyes practically demanding that he were to give the students a new phone for the loss of a meeting with Tony Stark.
"Alright alright. FRIDAY send a package of the StarkPhone form like last year." Tony shrugged.
"Will do, the packages shohld be sent by next week." FRIDAY replied.
"Thank you." Then he returned to students and teacher. "Not to be rude but I have lab projects to do with my intern here." Tony stated a he slung an arm around Peter's shoulders.
"I have to inform Peter's guardians about this." Mr Harrington replied, finally speaking up.
"His aunt's out of town. I'm his guardian for the week. I'm the adult that takes Peter into custody if anything were to happen to May."
Wait what.
Custody?
"A-alright then... Come on team, we're going back to school." Mr Harrington announced, and the rest of the team followed the teacher.
"Bye Peter! See you tomorrow!" Ned exclaimed, waving excitesly goodbye to Peter who waved backed a little less excitedly.
"Okay now that they're gone, how about we modify some things in your suit hmm?" Tony asked the moment the group were gone.
"You two have fun. I've got a meeting in about 30 minutes I have to prepare for." Pepper muttered, kissing Tony's cheek as she left.
***
"Okay who's turn is it for movie night?" Clint asked.
"Mine!" Peter exclaimed happily, hopping onto the couch from the back, landing next to Tony.
"I swear to whatever god that's out there, if its Star Wars again Pete." Tony grumbled.
"Lucky you. Cause I wanna watch Coco." Peter replied.
"The kid show?" Sam deadpanned.
"Ya that 'kid show' gonna make you cry." Peter made sure to emphasize the 'kid show' part clearly to Sam.
And that it did. Peter smirkedd satisfactorily as a few of the world's strongest heroes were crying over a kid show. It made it even better that Tony was crying along with Clint and Sam.
"You're too soft dad." Peter mocked.
"Don't pretend like you haven't cried too Tesoro." Tony jabbed.
"Sure cause I'm a kid. You're an adult and one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. And a kid show made you cry?" Peter smirked. (And the only reason he wasn't crying was because he watched the movie to many times)
"Your lucky I love you baby."
Notes:
SO MUCH FLUFF IN DYING JUST FROM WRITING IT. Unfortunately, some angst is lurking nearby... Say in the next few chapters...? MWAHAHAHAHAH.

Chapter Text
Peter awoke to the throbbing of his throat on a Friday morning. He could already tell it was sore and painful just by gulping down saliva. Oh he hated it when he got a sore throat. Sure to some people, it's just a sore throat, but to Peter, a sore throat usually meant phlegm.
Which then progresses into a running nose to a horrible cough and if the virus is really nasty, a fever.
He looked at the alarm clock on his bedside table, groaning when he saw it was only 4 in the morning and he was definitely sure no one except maybe Tony, would be awake. So he turned to the next best thing, FRIDAY.
"Hey um FRIDAY?" Peter asked quietly, wincing slightly at the dryness of his throat. (Honestly, what did he eat or do to get this?) "Is anyone currently awake?"
"I'm afraid not. Boss has only just went to sleep four hours ago and to the persistence of Miss Potts, needs his eight hours of sleep." FRIDAY informed just as quietly. "But perhaps you would like me to alert Boss that you are awake?" She added.
"Um no. Don't wake Tony up please. He needs to rest." Peter replied to the AI.
And he climbed out of his bed when he felt a little hot all of a sudden and went to take a quick cold shower and brush his teeth. (You know daily hygiene and what not)
Obviously now he was definitely awake and could not sleep back so he went to the common floor kitchen (out of habit) where he scrounged for some food that wouldn't agitate his throat. He had read somewhere that soft foods that are easy to chew and swallow were the best, so eventually he pulled out a box of cereal and a carton of milk from the fridge to soften said cereal.
"Little spider's awake I see."
"Hey Nat. Not surprised your awake at this time." Peter replied.
The woman slowly and quietly walked over to him, leaning on the kitchen counter as she studied him with curious eyes.
"So what brings you out if bed this hour?" She asked, sitting down next to him and grabbing the cereal and milk.
"Couldn't sleep." He lied, face impassive as he ate.
Natasha seemed to drop the matter of why he was awake and concentrated on her food.
"Since you can't sleep, how 'bout we go train a bit?" Natasha suggested.
The idea seemed welcoming to Peter, as he had nothing to do for the next two hours before he went to school.
"Sure." He answered as he finished his last spoon of cereal.
Natasha smirked and finished her bowl a moments later, placing hers and Peter's in the dishwasher before the both of them headed to the training room floors below them.
"You know you're a lot like your father." Natasha commented as they walked out of the lift.
"How so?" Peter innocently asked.
"You both have horrible sleep regimes, lie and keep a lot of secrets."
Peter kept quiet.
Welp, he already suslected that Natasha knew. It wasn't to big of a surprise, he knew he could trust her.
"Spider-Man? Ya I knew that you knew about it." Peter mumbled.
Natasha spared him a glance, "You're okay with me knowing about it?"
"Yea. I can trust you." Peter admitted, he then turned the her and looked her dead in the eye. "Right?" He asked with a sharp edge in his tone.
Natasha smirked.
"Of course you can trust me. And maybe I will teach you some Russian later."
Peter eyes lit up.
"After you show me what you've really got маленький паук."
"No webs?" Peter asked.
"No webs."
When they entered the training room, they picked the one nearest to the wall and began sparring. Peter now being able to show off his spider abilities, immediately jumped up and clung on the wall, looking for an opening to strike.
Nat stared at him as he continued to climb towards the ceiling.
"Come on Peter! I'm not going to just wait here am I?" Natasha asked.
"Nope."
Peter then jumped down towards her kicking her from the side which she blocked with her hand quickly. Peter huffed in frustration and started moving hand to hand combat. He would strike her with a punch (which he had to obviously hold back. Don't want any bones breaking.) while she blocked and vice versa.
Eventually, Natasha grew tired of the close combat and sweeled Peter off his feet before kicking in the stomach lightly, but with enough force to propel him towards the wall.
"I know you're holding back Peter."
"How did you know?" He asked, rubbing his head to soothe the pain which was already going away due to his healing factor.
Natasha stared at him and out her hands on her hips, "In a fight, you don't hold back."
Did Natasha not know he could easily shatter her bones if he wanted to?
No. Apparently not.
"I'm really strong!" Peter replied, "I can literally carry buses with one hand no problem! I don't want to shatter your bones!"
"You can carry buses no problem?" Natasha asked in surprise. "Okay time out." She added, walking over to Peter.
"Huh? Why?"
"We're going to the gym where it's just tread mills and lifting weights." Natasha replied. "I'm going to test how strong you are."
Turns out Peter is very strong, surprising Natasha when he could lift Steve's weights easily with one hand no problem. And it wasn't one of Steve's heaviest weights, it was the heaviest weight that Steve had trouble picking up.
"Damn Spider. Your strong." Natasha commented. "You're right. You can shatter my bones if you wanted too."
"Told you."
"Peter. I'm sorry to interrupt but Boss is looking for you. I have also alerted him that your current temperature is at a 101.6F (38.7°C)." FRIDAY announced.
"Why didn't you tell me you had a mild fever kid?" Came Tony's frustrated voice when he entered the gym.
"I didn't know until just now!" Peter replied with, ignoring his he suddenly felt his throat's protests of pain.
"You sure? No sore throat, cough or runny nose?" Tony asked, placing a cool (or maybe it was jaut Peter's fever making him think its cold) hand against his forehead. "Shit kid. You're burning up. FRIDAY what's his temp."
"It has increased to 102.6F (39.2°C)." FRIDAY answered.
"Okay kid. You ain't going to school today. You're also going to go to bed and you're definitely only allowed to eat soft or soup food." Tony instructed.
"Capishe?"
Peter hummed in response.
He turned to Natasha, "Thanks for entertaining my kid. He's a pain in the ass when he's bored."
"No problem. See you during lunch little spider." Natasha said.
Peter waved goodbye before walking towards the elevator and Tony took a moment to register what Natasha has said. He then immediately turned around to face Natasha who, has unsurprisingly, disappeared.
Tony sighed as he followed Peter into the lift, "So Nat knows huh kid?"
"Ya."
"Your not bothered?"
"Nah."
Short answers. That means he's became tired or sonething's troubling him. Probably the former judging by the slightly dropping eyes that Peter was trying super hard to hide. So to save Peter of usuing his brain, Tony guided Peter towards his room, pushing him pass the Avengers.
"Hey Tony." Steve called, looking up from his book, "About Bu-" Steve then realised how tired Peter was looking and was trying discreetly hard to hide it. "Never mind. I'll talk about it with you later."
Tony nodded and guided Peter towards his room.
"Okay kiddo. You're going to sleep here for a few hours. Minimum three hours. I don't care if you can't sleep back. You'll find a way." Tony muttered, guiding Peter to his bed.
"But I'm not tired." Peter complained.
"Oh you definitely are Mr Parker." Tony retorted, "Don't think I can't see your eyelids drooping." Tony pointed.
"Fineeee." Peter whined, unnecessarily dragging out the 'e' as he got under the covers. "Stay?" Peter hesitantly asked when he saw Tony about to leave the room.
Said man turned around to look at him with a fond smile on his face before walking over and sitting on the bed next to him, wordlessly playing with Peter's hair when he settled next to him.
And Peter eventually fell asleep. Eventually being about five minutes or so.
Once Tony was sure Peter was fully asleep, he gently kissed the top of his head before walking out of the room.
***
Peter awoke to the sound of people fighting in the kitchen. By the sounds, of it Tony, Steve and... someone new?
"FRIDAY? What's my temp?" He groggily asked.
"98.2F. Much better than before."
Peter thanked her and walked sleepily out of his room at 12:39 pm, and towards the sounds of the commotion on the Avenger's common room floor where he was net with a semi-unpleasant surprise.
James "Bucky" Barnes.
Or more infamously known as The Winter Soldier to the media.
Or more notoriously in Peter's mind, the man who had killed Tony's parents and the sole reason why Steve had nearly killed Tony.
In short, Peter didn't really like Bucky.
All the adults turned to look at the intruder, Tony visibly tensing while Steve took in a deep breath. Bucky was just confused while everyone else shook their heads.
Peter, now very awake, stared forward at Bucky with questioning eyes, not even taking his eyes off the man for a single second. He could at any point of time just run towards Tony, pull out a pocket knife and slit Tony's throat. Peter internally shuddered at the thought.
He was so focused on his thoughts that he didn't even realise that Tony was standing next to him, putting a comforting arm on his shoulder.
"Dad? Why's he here?" Peter murmured, staring at Bucky with a mixture of fear, mistrust and tiny but of anger.
Tony sighed and looked at Steve who just shrugged his shoulders helplessly, giving Tony a piting look. So much for help.
"Look Pete. Barnes is going to live here at the tower with us." Tony replied.
Peter immediately turned his head towards Tony so fast he could hear the resounding sound of his neck pop (like how you pop your knuckles). Tony just look at him helplessly like Steve in a 'I'm sorry buddy but you gotta live with it' kinds way.
"I'm sorry but who is this kid?" Bucky asked.
"Peter Parker. The son of a person you and Mr Rogers left for the dead in Siberia." Peter replied. "But it's okay. It's not like you gave me minor PTSD when I saw the footage."
"Wait you had PTSD just from watching that? Why the fuck, no this is an appropriate time to swear, and you didn't think to tell me?" Tony gawked.
"Not the point right now. The point is how you are going to handle having the man was the purpose of nearly killing you, living under the same roof as you!" Peter retorted.
"No. From where I'm hearing from, you seem to just want Stark all to yourself." Bucky commented.
"This isn't about me." Peter contemptuously replied, "It's about my dad!" The 'dad' just rolled off his tongue instinctively, he wasn't even thinking about the stupid prank he was pulling against the Avengers. He accepted that he really saw Tony as his father figure.
"Mr Rogers has already proven he's genuinely sorry about what happened and even though there are still something's that still need to be cleared out, I can tell Mr Rogers making the conscious effort to earn his trust with dad back!" Peter continued.
"So I'll only say that I'm sorry if I'm misjudging you. Cause honestly, in my eyes you're still the same guy who has tried to kill my dad. To me you're still the same guy that left him for the dead in Siberia." Peter added.
"Peter, that's enough." Tony said with finality.
Peter took in a deep breath and look down at the floor. Honestly he didn't even realised he held so much anger and hatred towards Bucky.
"Sorry." Peter mumbled.
"It's alright kiddo. And you probably just made that throat of your's worse." Tony replied lightly. "Why don't you go upstairs. The penthouse kitchen. I'll bring you the food in a second."
Peter slowly nodded and walked away and out of sight.
"Kid's got bite to him after all." Clint suddenly murmured behind him, causing Sam to chuckle and Natasha to smile.
Even Tony smiled too.
"Don't underestimate my kid Barton. He could kick your ass if he wanted to." Tony remarked.
"He could." Natasha agreed.
She and Tony shared a knowing look, before Tony waved a hand goodbye, walking towards the elevator.
"FRIDAY, send three servings porridge, mashed potatoes, eggs and chicken soup up to the penthouse kitchen." Tony stated, as he went up the lift. "The little spider may have gotten better but he still gotta maintain his health if you know what I mean."
"Will do Boss."
Tony emerged from the elevator to find Peter slumpimg onto the dining table, bored.
"I'm hungry." Peter murmured.
"Food's right there kiddo." Tony pointed, he watched as Peter's eyes travelled in the direction he was pointing to, eyes landing onto the soft food that had just appeared from nowhere.
"Woah." Peter gasped.
"I made something that could travel food between the two floors so you won't have to walk around all the time just to get your food." Tony explained, sitting down opposite where Peter was moments ago who had went to get the food.
"I'm sorry for what happened just now." Peter apologized when he set the food down on the table. "I just couldn't stand him there." He murmured.
"I'm not mad if that's what you're thinking."
"You're not?"
Tony let out a laugh. "Kid, if anything I'm proud."
"You are?"
"I'm proud of your speech of course." Peter went red with embarrassment, "And that you actually called me your dad." Tony added, ruddling Peter's hair.
Peter face was full on crimson now and kept quiet as he ate his mashed potatoes.
***
"Stop!" Peter pleaded as he watched the scene unfold in front of his eyes.
His plea fell upon deaf ears.
He couldn't move. He was helpless here. As if his feet were rooted to the ground literally. They couldn't here him either. He was useless. But he knew he couldn't just stand there and watch them fight. Tony would die.
He couldn't let that happen.
Not on his watch.
"Please Mr Rogers stop!" Peter yelled, cursing at his immobility to move.
Tony was going to die.
It was all going to be his fault.
He watched with watery eyes. He watched how Tony had brought Bucky down. He watched the way Steve reacted, by punching Tony repeatedly to the hard ground. He was just standing there.
Standing there while Steve repeatedly brought his vibranium shield down onto Tony's chest, eventually breaking the reactor. Vibranium shield. The hardest fucking material on the fucking earth.
"Stop please." He quietly begged.
He watched as the arc reactor power down as Steve and Bucky left. He watched with his blurry field of vision as Tony, instead of telling Steve how he wasn't worthy if that shield, stayed on the ground. Eyes glassy.
And only now could Peter move.
He dashed over to Tony's still figure, saw how his father figure's eyes we're still and ultimately lifeless.
"Please Tony." Peter begged. "Please, dad. Don't leave. What about Pepper? What about... me?"
He ignored how his uncontrollable tears spilled all over the Iron Man suit.
He didn't care about the suit.
He cared about the man beneath it. But that man was dead.
And it was all his fault.
"I'm sorry."
***
Tony shot up from his bed, having being woken up by FRIDAY's alarm. Groaning, he rubbed his eyes, trying to get rid of the sleepiness.
"What is it FRI?" He groggily asked.
"Peter seems to be having a code orange nightmare." FRIDAY replied.
"Is he awake?" Pepper worriedly asked from beside him, the alarm having woken her up as well.
”Unfortunately no.”
”Shit.” Tony cursed, throwing the covers off his person, Pepper wishing him luck as he left the room (she didn’t want to interrupt any private moment between the two).
Tony walked quickly towards Peter’s room a few rooms away and quickly opened the door. His heart dropped when he saw the kid curled up on the bed, crying uncontrollably, covers thrown to the side, fisting the sheets as he apologised to someone non-stop. He hated how his heart clenched painfully as he watched his kid in distress.
”Hey baby.” Tony started, shaking Peter slowly awake. “Whatever it is, it isn’t real.” Tony murmured, kneeling down before Peter.
Peter started sniffing, a sign Tony has learned to realise, means that Peter’s waking up from his nightmare.
“That’s it kiddo.” Tony encouraged went he saw watery brown doe eyes staring back him. Tony nearly lost his balance when Peter latched onto him tightly, refusing to let go as he continued sobbing into his chest.
”Hey it’s alright.” Tony whispered softly as he held the crying teen on his arms. He then slowly brought himself to sit down on Peter’s bed, his hand moving comfortingly up and down Peter’s back. ”Wanna talk about it?” He added.
Peter shook his head.
”You know that isn’t good right?”
Peter nodded.
Tony sighed. “If you really don’t want to talk about it, it’s alright. I don’t wanna push you. But we’ll have to talk about it eventually.”
”I just…” Peter started, shifting his head that his eyes faced the empty wall. “I know it won’t happen now, but just… what if?” Peter continued, tears streaming down his face as he recalled his nightmare.
”You gotta give me a clue here buddy.” Tony replied.
Peter’s grip on him tightened slightly as he tried to force the answer out of him. “I’m just scared he’ll make Mr Rogers kill you again.” He murmured.
Tony’s entire facial expression softened as realisation dawned on him. “Oh baby.” Tony uttered, “I’m not leaving, okay? I’ll be right here. I won’t just leave you and Pepper like that okay?”
“Promise?” Peter asked, looking at Tony in the face.
”Promise.” Tony replied smiling.
Notes:
I'm starting a new fic about Tony and Peter again. One of those 5 + 1 Things. Maybe I'll make a prequel to that fic.
Chapter 8: Payback
Summary:
Some guys want some pay back in the form of pushing a child of a high rise building.
Notes:
So, from the summary as you can tell, I'm sure you know what's gonna happen.
TW: There's like one paragraph of Tony imagining Peter dying and the blood being everything. So yeah. Trigger warning I guess.
UPDATE: Guys?! 200 kudos?! Omg. Thank you to everyone who's contributed to this fic I honestly thought no one would read.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
"Honestly you think it'll be that easy?" Peter asked. "Many have tried to take Mr Stark's money or make him pay for revenge. And just as a reminder, all of them failed." Peter added, the name Mr Stark rolling off his tongue weirdly. He hasn't called Tony that I months and now it just felt weird.
Also, getting kidnapped is the worst. Peter thought.
There he was, walking past 49th street after having hung out with Ned and MJ. Then suddenly someone injected some sort of liquid into his neck. Next thing he knew he woke up on top of the high rise building, on the top of the fucking Empire State Building and finding himself not having any or most of his spider strength to break out from the ropes binding his hands.
What the fuck was in that liquid?
Okay. So maybe he was a little terrified that he couldn't use his strength to get himself out if this situation. But he wasn't that scared if the captors were stupid enough to leave his phone in his pocket where Tony could track it.
"What do you know kid?" The guy holding his hair whispered gruffly in his ear, which as much as Peter would hate to admit, sent shivers down his spine.
"More than you do." Peter retorted.
The man holding him scoffed in disbelief.
"Also what the hell was in that liquid you injected." Peter said more as a statement than a question.
"I'm a scientist." Peter assumed, the boss, had said. "Taking in a Stark who has a low chance of being normal and not have precautions? That's stupid. That serum I injected makes you lose most of your strength to even fight back."
"Well drugs don't really work on me you see. High metabolism y'know? If you're a scientist you should know what I mean."
The boss smirked bitterly as he stared down on Peter, making Peter feel just a little bit uneasy with the look in the man's eyes. "We'll see how that mouth of yours helps you later." He murmured, gesturing at the edge of the building Peter had long since realised he was too close to.
"The camera's starting Boss." A another guy from behind announced.
"Good." The boss replied as he sent Peter a triumphant smirk.
Peter rolled his eyes at how damn confident these guys were. Did they really think Tony Stark would give up whatever it is they wanted so easily?
I think they really do. Peter thought.
Then again, he had no idea what they were going to do to him.
But he had a damn good suspicion what it would be.
Tony had been having a very normal day so far. He went for a few boring ass meetings that he couldn't ditch, unfortunately. Bucky didn't even make that much trouble today, he ultimately just avoided him. At the moment, he was just scrolling on his StarkPad, waiting for Peter to get home.
Until his TV suddenly turned on.
"What the fuck?" Tony murmured as he told FRIDAY to turn off the TV.
"I'm sorry sir, but something is stopping me from doing so." FRIDAY alerted.
Tony watched as he saw a five men on what seems to be on top of a buliding, one of the said men holding a teenager with a sack on top of his head held by the arms, who was yelling for release. Honestly, it just looked like a really poor budget scene from a movie where the teenager got kidnapped.
But Tony then realised that it wasn't a movie at all, this was happening somewhere in the city right now.
"Hey Stark." The tallest one of the men called, "This is a private message broadcasting only to you right now. Everyone else is probably not even worried at the moment." The guy started. "See before I reveal who this kind young man is. I would like you to think. Think about the people you killed when you claimed you were trying to save New York."
"Oh so it's a revenge thing?" Tony asked.
"Nobody has to bury their own family Stark." The guy replied. "So maybe I'm just giving you a little taste of what that's like."
No.
I swear to god, I'll kill you if that's who I think it is.
The man pulled off the sack on the teenager's head and an unmistakable lock of brown curls fell from the sack immediately. He gritted his teeth, tapping furiously on his watch for a suit to be deployed.
Cause it was Peter Parker under that sack.
"Do you think he can really survive a drop down the Empire State, Stark?" The guy said pulling Peter by the hair. "I'm sure even Spider-Man can't survive a jump from this height." The man mumured, not even realising he was talking to Spider-Man.
"Peter. Why aren't you..." Tony broke off, knowing that Peter understood what the rest of the sentence would be. 'just throw them off you?'
"Cause I can't Mr Stark." Peter replied, he pulled on his restraints he could normally break out from, but he couldn't. No matter how hard Tony watched him struggle, Peter couldn't tear the measly nylon apart. He understood and was already in the Iron Man suit, flying straight for the tall buliding which was already in plain sight.
"Say goodbye Stark." The boss said as Tony watched the men literally drag a 16 year old teenager to the edge of a 102 storey buliding.
They pushed his kid off the edge.
And Peter's screams rang in his ears painfully.
Naturally, Tony immediately nosed dived down after Peter. "FRIDAY?! Divert all the fucking power to my thrusters." Tony yelled.
FRIDAY knew well enough not to say anything as she did what Tony instructed.
60 feet from Peter.
34 floors left before Peter hits the ground.
Please let me catch him.
"I'm scared Dad." Peter murmured.
4 feet from Peter.
15 floors before his kid dies.
Tony immediately wrapped protective arms around Peter's entire body, making sure he turned on his back so that the injected would not affect Peter at all. There was a horrible and loud screeching sound of his suit hitting the ground and sliding to a stop 10 feet later.
Thank god the citizens of New York City knew to get away when they did. He then finally let his arms fall off Peter in relief.
Cause his kid was safe. And that was all that mattered now.
"You okay? I mean physically." Tony asked, face plate opening up to look at Peter.
"Yeah." Peter replied, showing Tony the ropes which he tore off easily.
"We're gonna talk when we get back to the tower." Tony added, picking Peter back up in his arms again and flying to the top if a nearby buliding buliding to quickly avoid the cameras.
Peter bit his bottom lip as his feet touched the ground of the nearby buliding Tony had placed him gently on.
"Is there a problem kiddo?" He worriedly asked.
"I don't wanna be high up the sky right now..." Peter aaid, voice barely louder than a whisper.
Tony walked out of the suit and went to hug his kid who just melted into it, sobs escaping from his small figure as he clung onto him.
"I'll call Happy okay?" Tony suggested.
Peter just sniffed in response but didn't protest, deciding to just continue to cling onto Tony said torso, leaning his head into Tony's hand which was trying to flatten his curls.
"It was so scary." Peter blurted out after a few moments of silence. The two of them were now instead sitting on the floor of the buliding roof, Peter still refusing to let go of Tony.
"Ya. You weren't the only one who got scared Underoos."
"Oh. Right. Yeah. Sorry."
"Why do you apologize for literally everything?" Tony asked fondly, "It's not even your fault that happened Bambino."
"I mean it kinda is." Peter replied, using his arm to wipe his tears, "They saw how close I was to you, and targeted me for revenge. What if you didn't save me?"
Yeah. What if he didn't? What would've happened?
15 floors. Tony then immediately thought. If he even left the tower one second later, he was sure he would've seen Peter's body smash onto the ground, blood spattering every where, body stiff and unmoving. Tony could see how Peter would be so pale without any oxidized blood in his body.
The thought alone made him one to retch into the drain.
"Dad?"
Tony looked down at the teenager in his arms, "Yea kiddo?"
"I didn't mean to give you such a scare."
"I know you didn't Pete. But maybe try to be more alert when you go hang with your friends. So you don't make me give me any more heart conditions."
"Your hair didn't turn grey?" Peter asked, a small smile on his face.
"Oh it definitely did. And you probably made me lose like 10 years of my lifespan."
Peter snuggled closer towards Tony as they continued waiting for Happy to arrive.
"We heard the news." Natasha said.
It was 10pm and only him and Natasha stood on the Common Room floor, Tony unable to sleep due to anxiety of Peter getting kidnapped again and Natasha just naturally slept late.
"I'm going to find them." Tony threatened. "And I'm going to tear their fucking throats out. And maybe throw them off a buliding."
"I willingly volunteer to throw them off the buliding." Natasha added. "And let me see your damn holograms." She said eyeing the whole space Tony's virtual images have taken up of the room.
Tony looked at her skeptically.
"I can find them faster." She explained.
Tony caved as he pushed the files and what not to Natasha. She immediately pulled open one of the files and from the looks of it, she was playing the video the kidnappers sent him.
"FRIDAY scan the faces." Natasha asked.
"I can only identify one of them Ms Romanov. And be appears to be the leader of the gang." FRIDAY replied.
"I have clearance to ask FRIDAY?" Natasha asked, admittedly surprised.
Tony didn't say anything, so Natasha just told FRIDAY to carry on.
"Keagan Kenneth Kackley. Was a father, husband, brother and uncle."
"Was?" Nat asked.
"His wife Matilda Cracow along with his daughter Annie Kackley died during the attack upon New York. A few days after the fight had blown over, Mr. Kackley found out that his brother, sister in-law and nephew, Mackey Kackley, Gwyneth Addison and Matthew Kackley had died in their five room apartment." FRIDAY answered.
"He did say that." Tony mentioned.
"Well usually I would've felt somewhat bad but after what he did for revenge? Never."
"He's grown onto you."
"Hard for him to not." Nat added as she furiously swiped and typed.
A few minutes later, Tony spoke up. "You found anything?"
"It's loading. 89% before we find out where the heck they are." Nat answered, her eyes unblinking as she watched the bar reach 99%, stopping for a second before reaching a hundred and load (again).
"They're in Midtown." Nat said, eyes the suddenly widening slightly. "In a warehouse near..." Natasha broke off, slightly hesitant.
"Near what?" Tony asked, worry flooding into his veins.
"Midtown High School of Science and Technology."
"Fuck." Tony cursed, calling in one of his suits through FRIDAY. "We're going there right now whether you like it or not."
"Since when did I say I didn't want to go?" Nat asked as she ran to her room, emerging seconds later with her Widow Bites, knifes and guns on her suit.
Tony looked up when he could hear the sound of the Iron Man suit flying up the floors to reach him, latching onto him the moment the window opened.
"Ready?" He asked, knowing full well that Nat was.
"Yeah. And don't worry how I'm going to follow you." She said with a smirk.
"You sure it's here?" Tony whispered over the comm.
"Definitely." Nat replied from the top of the buliding, currently peaking through a window to find the men discussing plans. In the middle of a run down warehouse, Nat could see a board where pictures of The New York attack, Tony, Peter and other places which either Tony or Petwr frequently went to. Like Midtown High.
"Those fuckers." Natasha cursed, activating her widow bites.
"Language." Tony commented, as he walked as quietly as metal suit allowed him (that was going to be a problem he needed to work on) towards the front door of the warehouse.
He smirked as he heard Nat sigh on the other side of comm.
"You know how the plan goes right?" Nat asked, choosing to ignore Tony's comment.
"Definitely. Fastest plan I've even memorised. It's all for my kid after all."
They then became silent.

SLAM.
Tony busted through the front door to catch the men off guard which Nat will use as an opportunity to kick Kackley and his men's asses. After all, no normal un-trained human can stand against The Black Widow. With every few seconds that passed, Tony could hear a few groans coming from the men in the main room as he walked steadily towards it. He honestly couldn't stop the swelling of triumph in chest.
But he was sure Peter wouldn't approve of what he was doing.
I'm doing this for you kiddo.
Tony didn't really need to save Peter from falling down another skyscraper on Monday when Peter wen to school. One time was much more than enough already.
"I left the main guy for you."
Tony turned to look at Kackley who was slumped against the wall, face pale as ever.
"Well well well Mr Kackley." Tony greeted in mock friendly voice. "What a great pleasure it is to see you again!"
Kackley shook his head and pointed an accusing finger at Tony and Nat who looked unimpressed by it. "See this is what I meant. You so called heroes. You kill thousands. And now you're gonna kill me and my friends."
"After, might I add, throwing a 16 year old off a fucking skyscraper in he middle of the evening." Nat stated, voice hard and cold.
"And if you mess with my kid or my fiancee or any of my personal friends and colleagues, I will not hesitate to kill you like I am now."
"This is you holding back?"
"We weren't even trying." Nat interrupted.
Kackley seemed to realise how he was done for. How he could never beat the Avengers and how foolish he was to threaten someone close to them.
And they aren't even trying right now.
They're way out of my league.
"Just kill me." Kackley whispered. "Let me be with my family again. Let me hug my daughter again."
"Please."
BANG. BANG. BANG.
Nat didn't even hesitate as she fired a bullet straight into his heart.
"You're welcome." She stated, reloading her pistol and gracefully sliding it back into her side pocket.
"That was cold." Tony commented.
"But he died smiling." She added, causing Tony to snap his back at Kackley's bald head, where the tiniest hint of a smile showed.
Tony stayed silent. Trying to not think about what it would be like to be in Kackley's shoes, imagining life without Pepper, Rhodey, Happy and Peter. He would have offed himself a year later, tops.
And the guy they just killed strived for 6 years or so without his family.
Well, he can't regret killing the man now.
And at least... his kid was safe.
Notes:
Congratulations to Natasha who's been promoted to Nat! I love the whole Tony Stark and Natasha Romanov Friendship so much. I just had to give them more interactions.

Chapter 9: Last Day
Summary:
Nearly a week has passed and May's returning from the her holiday in the Bahamas. The last day is nothing short of uneventful.
Notes:
So, I think it's safe to say that there is going to be 10 chapters. Also do you know how the Bahamas is infamous for its hurricanes? I thought would make May's flight hold back? Like so there's extra days for Tony, Peter and the Avengers to spend more time together. And then Peter would find out that May had died.
BUT I REALLY DID NOT WANT TO KILL MAY.
So I totally scraped that idea. But keep in mind that I was this close 🤏 to killing May.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

My friends cal me MJ: ......
"And MJ is now offline." Peter announced, dragging out the 'n'.
"I like her. She's not so much of a dork, unlike you and Ted. Gives major Pepper vibes tho." Tony replied.
"Ned. Stop pretending like you don't know how to say his name." Peter corrected, "Also, I thought you liked dorks, since you're kinda one yourself."
"Yeah but I'm a cool dork. You're probably one of those dorks that have made a whole group chat just for playing Monopoly Go or something." Tony added.
Peter stayed silent.
Tony burst out laughing. "No. Way. You actually did?"
"What?! It's fun!" Peter defended, turning scarlet, pouting when Tony didn't stop laughing. "Stop making fun of me dad!" Peter whined.
Tony may have calmed down from laughing but he was grinning like an idiot as he ruffled Peter's hair fondly, causing the teen to squawk indignantly like usual.
"I'm so glad I saved you yesterday."
"You're not the only one you know." Peter admitted.
Smiling till the sides of his eyes were crinkling, Tony wrapped an arm around Peter's shoulders and dragged the boy closer to him, chin resting on Peter's soft curls. Basking in the fact that Peter was here with him, alive and not buried somewhere underneath dirt.
"It's not your fault I nearly died either." Peter murmured, smiling as Tony huffed. "I know you're thinking about it cause Rhodey keeps telling me about your immense guilt complex."
"Traitor." Tony said, letting Peter go.
"But you know it's not your fault right?" Peter asked.
"It kinda is kiddo." Tony sighed, "They were after me. Not you. But, they saw how close you were to me and targeted you. Just to get their revenge on me. And you nearly died in the process." Tony explained slowly.
"I can't let that happen." Tony whispered.
Peter bit his lip, not liking how Tony was blaming himself for everything but nodded anyway.
"But no apologising for what happened yesterday. Okay?"
"Aright. I won't apologize for what happened, yesterday." Tony answered, "Anyway, you're the one who always apologizes for no reason."
Peter gently slapped Tony's arm in for that comment. "Not my fault I'm so good hearted."
"Spider-Man? Really?" Nat asked when she bumped into Peter on the top of the tower, who was dressed in his suit ready to swing. (Peter pretended to not notice how she was in her full suit as well. Telling him it might not be a coincidence that he bumped into her)
"Umm, yeah?"
"You literally nearly died yesterday. And Tony agreed to this?" She said skeptically, gesturing at Peter's suit. "Don't you have a fear of heights now?
Peter shrugged. "The heights isn't super bad, i mean I do feel like a little scared when I look down but it's mostly okay. And Dad said I could go, reluctantly. Cause it would seem suspicious that Spider-Man hasn't really been patrolling lately. Gotta keep the image y'know?"
Nat uncrossed her arms and let them away at her side as she started thinking.
"Mind if I come with you?" She asked. "I'd like to actually see you in action so it'd be easier to teach you how to fight properly."
"Okay!" Peter immediately answered, eyes lighting up. Very thrilled that Nat would be coming along with his patrol. "But you can't intervene with me unless I tell you to. And you can't show yourself, if not the muggers would just run away." Peter added as he jumped off the side of the building and shot a web to one for the lower bulidings.
He didn't really worry how Nat was going to follow him. She was the Black Widow after all. Infamous/famous ex-russian spy who now works for SHIELD and is an Avenger. She would find a way to follow him, maybe she has some high tech grappling hook from movies.
"I expected you to just let some of them go." Nat commented.
"I do." Peter replied, asking Karen to scan for some activity. "Depends on the crime honestly. Bank robbery? Jail. Stole a bike? Maybe."
"So you judge them by the crime they committed? They should all be fined or jailed either way if you ask me."
"Yeah well I'm not like that." Peter cheerfully answered, swinging away go another building.
"There seems to be a kidnapping going on at East 55 street." Came Karen's voice.
"In board daylight?" Peter exclaimed, swinging in the direction towards 55 street. "Those kidnappers are crazy!"
Peter hopped down onto one of the nearby buildings when he reached 55 street, there he could see two men attempting to kidnap a boy, and from the boy's young appearance, he seemed to only be 7 years old.
"Bastards." Peter murmured as he jumped down into the alleyway and between the kidnappers and the boy.
"Hey guys! What're doing here in broad daylight trying to kidnap a kid?" He asked, dodging the lunges from the kidnappers easily. Shooting a web to stick one of the guys hands onto the brick wall.
Nat watched from above, mildly impressed. Peter was talking way too much and leaving many open gaps to be hit on but it worked for the young vigilante. And to be honest, she found the quips endearing.
No wonder Tony loves this kid.
She's gone soft for this kid. Softer than she's ever been since her childhood with her sister Yelena.
"Hey don't cry!" Peter murmured, when he had webbed the kidnappers onto the wall, squatting to meet the boy's eye level. "You're okay now. They didn't hurt you right?"
The boy shook his head but didn't stop crying.
"What's your name?"
"Luke." The boy, Luke, answered, sniffing.
"Hey Luke! That's a cool name! Like Luke Skywalker from Star Wars. Ever heard of it?"
Luke nodded fervently, mood slightly brightening. "Star Wars is so cool!"
"Right?!" Peter agreed, taking the boy's little hand and scopping Luke into his arms. "Do you know where your home is? I'm sure your parents are worried sick about you."
Luke nodded slowly pointing in the direction which indicted where his house was.
"Well lead the way Captain." Peter exclaimed, saluting the boy in his arms while giggled.
He's good with kids too. Nat realised as she watched the interaction.
"Left or right?" Peter asked Luke.
Luke looked at his hands trying to remember which direction was left or right. Eventually coming to a conclusion and pointing right. Nat following the pair from above, jumping from building to building, and running to keep up with Peter's speed.
"Is this it?" Peter asked after five minutes of walking.
Luke nodded.
Peter knocked several times on the wilderness door and rang the bell at least twice before two people emerged from behind the door, the woman looking hopeful while the man was talking on the phone with someone.
"Spider-Man!" The woman exclaimed.
"Yeah it's me. And is this your child?" Peter asked, gesturing at Luke in his arms.
"Oh my god. Sorry. But Spider-Man just found my child." The man murmured into the phone, causing Peter to suspect that he was calling the FBI.
"Yes. Yes he is." The woman confirmed, taking her child into her arms. "We can't thank you enough Spider-Man. Thank you."
"You're welcome Ma'am, Sir. It's in my job description." Peter replied as he swinged away and onto the building Nat was standing on.
"Well that's that."
"You're good with kids you know that?"
"I know." Peter simply said before he swung to another building.
"Boss, it seems Peter is having a code red."
Tony immediately dropped whatever he was holding in worry, cause this wasn't just any code, it was code red. And there isn't enough damn colours in the god damn rainbow for whatever shit Peter can get up to during his patrols.
"What's the injury FRIDAY? A broken bone? A few broken bones?" Tony asked with urgency.
"A stab wound that has caused a laceration."
"Fuck."
Then his watch started to ring.
'Natasha Romanov' It said.
"Tony. Do not get mad."
"I already know Agent Romanov."
"Peter is bleeding a lot. Should I wait for you to come here? I need instructions Tony."
"I'll go there. Just stay where you are and try to help Peter." Tony replied before hanging up on her.
"Deploy Mark LIX now." Tony ordered as he dashed out of the lab, "Tell Dr Cho to get to ready when me and Nat bring home a bleeding spider-child."
"Alerted boss."
Tony was already flying towards Peter's location in a blink of an eye.
"Peter I just called Tony okay? Hold out for little while longer." Nat murmured as she tore off a piece of her clothing to wrap around Peter's torso.
"Don't worry Natasha. This has happened many times." Peter tried assuring.
"I legitimately feel slightly bad for Tony." Nat grunted, tightening the cloth around the wound, causing Peter to hiss in pain.
"He's complained to me about how I'm worsening his heart condition every time this happens." Peter grumbled.
"And my hair is turning to grey for my liking."
Tony then landed in the middle of the tiny alleyway behind Peter and Nat.
"Took you long enough.* Nat commented.
"Two minutes is fast okay?" Tony retorted, gently scooping Peter up into his arms. (well technically the suit's arms) "You are also not riding on my back. Use some of the sky shut you got and grab onto my leg." Tony added towards Nat.
Nat shrugged as she pulled her hook, tossing the string around the Iron Man suit's leg. Not in theeast surprised when Tony suddenly took off with zero warning. But nonetheless commented on it.
"A little warning would be great Stark."
"Nothing takes you by surprise Romanov."
Peter suddenly closing his eyes shut and going limp drowned out whatever snarky reply Nat had come with.
"FRIDAY, bring up Peter's stats."
"His blood levels are dangerously low due to the stab Boss. He will most likely need to have a blood transfusion despite his healing factor still trying to quickly close up the skin to stop blood flow."
"What's his blood type?"
"Blood type A. Same as you."
"How much blood type A does Dr Cho have stored?"
"Not a lot Boss. Lesser than the amount needed to get Peter stabilized."
"Get Dr Cho to pull up the equipment needed for a transfusion." Tony ordered quickly when the tower was in sight.
"My type is A too." Nat added, causing Tony to turn to her. "And I'm willing to give some of my blood to Peter. Don't need you to be all tried because our gave your kid too much blood."
Tony knew Nat couldn't see his face, but he had a feeling that she knew nonetheless that he was smiling under the gold titanium alloy.
As they reached the roof, they could see Dr Cho with a few of her nurses with a stretcher along with what he could see were blood packs. When he landed Dr Cho and her team immediately took Peter away to the med bay, while Tony immediately walk out of his suit. Natasha having already gracefully landed in a elegant pose, flipping her hair as she stood up.
"This is going to be a problem." Nat murmured.
"The team is bound to find out he's Spider-Man." Tony added, catching on quickly to what Natasha was mentioning.
"Steve is mostly the problem. He's the one who's most likely to give you and maybe Peter a lecture."
"Like he didn't sign up for the army when he was weak and frail in the past." Tony complained as they walked to the Medbay.
"He'll be fine. He has his enhanced healing right? He'll be up and about like his usual self in, what a few hours?"
"Yeah probably." Tony said as he shook his head, "But still, it better if he didn't get stabbed when he went patrolling."
"He told me to not interfere unless he said so. I didn't step in until I saw him get stabbed." Nat added, still staring forward and not looking at Tony.
He could hear the message underneath her statement clearly.
Sorry I couldn't protect the kid.
Nat always coded her statements when her feelings were involved, ever since the Red Room, feelings was something that was a very foreign to her, so expressing them was... hard.
"Not your fault." Was all Tony said before he walked into the Medbay with Nat.
Dr Cho looked up from where she was hooking an IV into Peter's arm and hand, relief on her face when she recognized the two.
"Your both Blood Type A am I right? Cause we're low on that type of blood, not enough to stabilize Peter."
"We know that." Nat replied, "How many pints does he need?"
"We need two pints from each of you. It'll make you slightly dizzy but the effects would wear off in a few days or so."
"What are the effects? A little lightheadedness and some minor bleeding or bruising."
"Nothing we can't handle." Tony assured.
Anything for Peter.
"What happened? Tony?" Said a muffled voice.
"Before you say anything Spangles-"
Oh it's dad and Mr Rogers.
"- I have a very valid reason."
"Don't blame anything on Tony, Steve." Said a more feminine voice.
Wait, that was Natasha.
What were they all doing here? Where even is 'here's? He could feel himself lying down on a comfortable bed, on that could only be as comfortable like the Medbay's.
Oh. Oh.
I got stabbed.
Peter then bolted ho into a sitting position scaring nearly everyine in the room for his sudden movement, Clint even let out a high pitch scream which was even better.
There were so many people. Tony, Pepper, Rhodey, Natasha and the other Rogues except Wanda. And if he remembered correctly, Tony had said Wanda had left to visit Vision and still hadn't come back.
He then looked down to see that he was no longer in his suit but was suspicious in the Medbay with a stab wound on the side of his torso. And why, you might ask, would an innocent high school student get stabbed out in the middle if no where?
Seems pretty suspicious.
And Peter had absolutely no back up excuse to get out of this one. And he was sure Tony, Pepper and Rhodey did not have one either.
"Peter. Can I ask why you have a stab wound?" Steve asked.
"Umm..."
"No point trying to hide anything now kiddo." Tony added, from next time him.
Peter sighed, he really didn't want all of them to know. Especially a specific Winter Soldier but answered anyway with much reluctance.
"I'm Spider-Man." He mumbled as softly as he could, but in this room where the damn acoustics are so good, it was clear as day.
"What?!" Steve exclaimed.
"Don't pretend you weren't already suspecting that when you saw the stab wound Steve." Nat cut in.
"Still, he's too young." Steve said, trying to be calmer.
"I have a kid nearly Peter's age Tony." Clint continued, "To be fighting crime out there? Where there's so many unimaginable things?"
"Don't think I've never thought about this. I've always thought about this." Tony replied, "Everytime when he goes out to patrol, everytime I receive a call from him or his Aunt or the school? I freak out."
"And to be frank, I know what those unimaginable things are about. I've seen enough till the point where I've had a building fall on top of me once."
"A building?!" Sam exclaimed.
"Yeah. That's wasn't fun at all."
Tony rolled his eyes and added, "And when I learned about it, I had a panic attack."
Peter ignored that comment, "But yeah Mr Rogers, having a buliding fall on me might not be responsible, but in the end, I saved all of Stark Industries' gear and tech. Causing Dad to decide that moving everything to the compound would be too much if a hassle."
"Still, was it just that one time?" Steve asked.
"Uh no?"
Did Steve really think that was all that he had experienced?
So he tried again, "Mr Rogers, you might be able to hear the interns 36 floors us, but how distinctly can you hear them? What're they saying? Cause I can here this particular intern right now by the name of Martin, who's trying really hard to figure out this equation, all because by the sound of it, he wrote one wrong digit."
"FRIDAY alert Martin Fernandez that he wrote an 8 instead of 3 in the first step." Peter asked.
"Alerted. Mr Fernandez wishes to tell you that he is extremely thankful."
Peter then continued, "And right now I can hear a hot dog seller 5 blocks away, handing change to a man who had just bought one hot dog for his daughter."
"FRIDAY?" Tony prompted.
FRIDAY then pulled up security footage of a hot dog seller giving change to a 40 year old man who was currently carrying his 4 year old daughter in his arms, said child snacking hungrily on her food.
"See?"
"And with enhanced sense like mine? I can hear a group of muggers trying to kidnap a lady. You think I can just sleep when I know this type if things are happening? I can't! I just.. can't. I can't have that, on my conscience. That's why I do Spider-Man."
"And I don't care if I'm too young. I have these powers, and when I can do something and I don't, and then the bad things happen. They'll happen because of me."
Peter totally did not just say an iteration of what he had said to Tony when he first met him. And when he looked up he was expecting some neutral or skeptical faces but what he wasn't expecting was proud looks shot at him.
Tony the proudest of course.
"Sounds awfully familiar Pete." Came Tony's fond statement.
Peter smirked.
"And Tony just allowed you to go out as Spider-Man? What was his reaction?" Clint asked.
"He was mad. Very very mad. He did not take it lightly. Since I've been sneaking out so often and coming back with bruises. I'm surprised I even managed to keep him in the dark for two weeks."
"Two weeks is too long."
"Oh come on. I didn't even get hurt during that time." Peter protested.
"You were swinging around the city, fighting crime with a hoodie. I at least gave you protection, like a suit that alerts me when you're in danger, a heater, tracker, et cetera et cetera."
"If he's going to fight crime, he'll need training." Steve said.
"I've been doing that." Nat deadpanned.
"How come she gets to know about Peter being Spider-Man before us?" Clint complained.
"I think she found out by herself." Sam muttered.
"I did. Along with some other things."
Whatever that meant, Peter didn't really care. She could've found out that he and Tony were really biologically related, and he wouldn't really mind.
He really wouldn't mind them knowing the truth.
They're there.
