The Creepy Neighbour

Summary:

Moon has always lived alone. He never says much but he makes sure his intentions are true and clear. (My weird core AU basically).

Chapter 1: The Life of Moon

Chapter Text

The life of Moon. Moon has always lived alone in his house. He has never made any friends or has any family members. Every day, he wakes up from his charging station and reads books. He normally doesn't have anything on his calendar but today, he has a visitor. Moon couldn't care less for them but even introverts need some company once in a while.

The bright lit animatronic answered awkwardly, "I got your driving test results back...", Moon was silent as always, "It says you failed...but that's okay! I failed my driving test multiple times too! You'll pass eventually." He fiddled with his fingers and Moon stood still. "You know...Some people think we're brothers of sorts...Crazy right?"

Moon always found Sun annoying. He found his eyes too bright and his voice was as squeaky as a mouse.

Moon sometimes lies down on the floor and stare at the ceiling,  pondering on his existence and life knowing that everyday will be the same.

KNOWING THAT THEY'LL BE THE SAME

Sometimes he likes being seen. Other days...

HE DOESN'T

Chapter 2: Weekends with Moon

Summary:

Moon wants growing nebulae, ??? wants -----.
TWs: mentions of rape, hanging, implied death and murder.

Chapter Text

Weekends with Moon. Moon normally reads on Saturday but on Sundays he watches telly.

"Jessica Alloy was found yesterday, raped and hanged by her kidnapper."

He normally watches documentaries since he believes that it makes people smarter but sometimes he gets ads.

A booming voice came from the telly, "Do you want growing nebulae? Then get it right now at Some R' Us stores right now! only 99p."

Moon awfully hated the human's fake accent but he would've liked some growing nebulae. So he set out to get some.

"Are you here to get some growing nebulae?", the human asked nicely. Moon nodded and took out a pound. "Just a measly pound? With that you can only get moon debris. Don't you want to get growing nebulae? It's only..."

If the human didn't shut up soon, then Moon would make them.

The human suddenly began shouting, "YOU KNOW YOU'RE A TERRIBLE PERSON. COMING HERE WITH ONE POUND WHEN YOU KNEW IT WAS ONLY 99P.", they threw the moon debris in Moon's hands and commented, "TAKE IT! TAKE YOUR HORRIBLE MOON DEBRIS AND GET OUT!" Moon raised one of his claws up. The human's anger soon melted. They added fearfully, "No wait-"

YES

Moon couldn't get his growing nebulae and thus he went home to sulk.

"Hey Moon?'

Oh dear.

Sun continued slowly, "Hey Moon...I saw this on TV and thought you might like some." He held up a jar of growing nebulae.

Maybe Sun wasn't so annoying after all. Moon went back home and began watching more telly.

Moon clutched the jar in his hands as he sat down watching the commercial with the decapitated human on screen.

Ah, another successful Sunday.

Chapter 3: Babysitting with Moon

Summary:

It was supposed to be a normal Wednesday for Moon but now he has to help someone.

Chapter Text

Wednesdays with Moon. It was meant to be normal Wednesday for Moon where he charges but today it's different. Today, he has to help Sun since it was his version of thanks for the nebulae. Sun has the most terrifying job in the universe: childcare.

"They're really sweet.", Sun said gently, "So if you could give them breakfast and read them their daily story I would really love that. I'lll be back before their parents get here." After Sun had left, the stars began crying.

Moon despised children but he supposed giving them breakfast was enough.

The star laughed adorably and Moon felt the corners of his mouth twitch.

Reading to them.

"The flower was absolutely terrified of all the rats." The stars sat there, content.

Perhaps, Moon thought, they weren't all bad.

Moon heard the slice of something then looked down. Oil was dripping down from his right hand and he saw a LITTLE BRAT holding a knife.

Actually, maybe these impulsive BRATS needed to be taught a lesson.

He grabbed the star with the knife, each hand on one of it's ends and began to pull.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH!

"I'm back starlights and I bought...food...", Sun's words trailed off as he saw the dull bodies of the stars. He whispered, "Kids?"

Wednesdays had always been the worst so Moon doesn't count today as a loss.

Moon smiled as he held up the sad, crying star.

Besides, he has a new friend now.

Chapter 4: A day in the life of Sun

Summary:

A sweet boy, is he not?

Chapter Text

A day in the life of Sun. Sun likes to deliver mail, say hello to friends and cleaning his rays but most importantly, he likes to admire his shrine.

Sun's hands were clasped together as he was knelt down in front of pictures of the sun. He enthusiastically said to himself, "There's nothing wrong with worshipping the very being that gave you the ability to glow! And gave you life..."

Questions began swirling around Sun's head. Who was he? Why had the sun gave him life? Sun wanted to know so he set out to ask his friend.

Sun knocked gently on the door. Moon towered over him when he came out. "Hey Moon...I have a question to ask you..." Moon's head titled. Sun responded, "Actually never mind. You don't need to answer." Moon silently closed the door. Sun returned home and sighed.

Sun never got the answer he sought. But that was okay.

Everything was okay.

Chapter 5: Moon’s child

Summary:

Moon has a child but he doesn’t know how to take care of one.
TWs: needles, implied kidnapping and violence

Chapter Text

Moon’s child. After the daycare incident, Moon retrieved a new child but doesn’t know how to take care of one.

The star sniffled, “I want to go home…” Moon turned to the little star.

Moon didn’t know where to start so he went to the one person he knew.

The door creaked open as Sun peeked outside. “Oh! Moon..” Moon held up a picture of a baby. Sun cocked his head. He guessed, “You want to know how to raise a child?” Moon nodded.

Sun taught him everything and Moon was ready. So he went back home.

Moon’s head creaked as he saw the star near a open window.

Oh dear. It seems the star has been trying to leave. That wouldn’t do. So Moon did the one thing he could do.

Moon plucked the star by the top and pulled out a needle.

He may not be good with kids…

Moon plunged the needle into the star.

But he was good at putting them to sleep.

Chapter 6: Sun's Holiday

Summary:

Sun has a holiday, how lovely.

Chapter Text

Sun's holiday. Sun has always worked so hard for his community that one day he got a wonderful surprise.

Sun opened the door to a card on his footstep. He picked it up and it read 'TESS' SPA: RELAXING, FUN AND WONDERFUL.' Sun's rays shot up. He cried out happily, "Oh my stars!"

Sun began packing up immediately, excited about his holiday.

Once he arrived, there were lots of people there but Sun was too happy to mind.

A random bear with sunglasses and a hat told him loudly, "You know my boyfriend Tom recommended this place to me.", she turned to Sun, "Who recommended this place to you?"

"Oh I-", Sun started then his voice lowered, "I...don't know..." The lady started reading a magazine.

That was when Sun started to wonder, who had sent him that flyer and why?

After Sun got home, he looked at the flyer once more.

Sun turned the flyer over. On the back it read, 'Moon'.

Sun opened the door to Moon's home. Moon creaked his head towards him silently. "Was it you that sent me this flyer?", Moon nodded, "Oh...Does this mean that...we're friends now?" Moon nodded again.

Sun went to bed happily because not only he had a good holiday but now he had a good friend too.

A picture of Sun and Moon laid on Sun's desk.

Chapter 7: Thursdays with Moon

Summary:

Moon wants to learn how to drive a car, how lovely.
TWs for this chapter: car crash, implied death

Chapter Text

Thursdays with Moon. Moon has always wanted to explore every void and he has plans to do it.

"Welcome to Driving Station 201. May I please have your birth certificate?" Moon handed the birth certificate and the flower looked surprised. "You were born underneath the moon?" Moon nodded, confused. "You'll fail again I bet."

...

It was --:-- and Moon felt like he had been driving for hours. "Now I need you to make a right turn."

As Moon was driving, he thought about what the flower had said before. He felt a rising anger bubble up inside of him; who was this old hag to tell him what to do? Well, at least the voices weren't making it worse.

"STEER RIGHT!"

Moon's vision turned black.

...

Moon found rubble on top of him and stood up to find the flower bleeding.

Well, at least he hadn't meant to this time.

...

As Moon sat in his favourite chair, the star looked at the vase fearfully.

He may have failed but like Sun said he would get it right eventually.

A bleeding corpse of a flower sat in the vase dripping red.

He had a new plant now anyway.

Chapter 8: Sun's Birthday

Summary:

Happy birthday Sun.
TWs: Read the tags.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Today was a wonderful day for Sun because today was his birthday.

"You know I don't really remember how I was born. All I remember is being engulfed in a hot bright light and then waking up here.", Sun elaborated before taking a sip from his pink plastic cup.

The skeleton didn't respond.

Sun's smile fell.

Sun had always been alone on his birthday but today he hoped that he would have a friend to celebrate with.

Sun was jittering with excitement to say the least. He couldn't wait to celebrate the day! Sure, Moon was busy with his- kid and all that...but Sun would just get ice cream! He whistled a tune, trying to keep the positive attitude and all that, but his happiness died when he saw that the ice cream shop. He basically slammed himself against the display. No, no, no! Today was his birthday! The sign taunted him, the words 'Closed' were enough to  make his blood boil. (Did he even have blood?) He sighed bitterly, "Fine." Then he returned.

Sun went back to his house that day absolutely miserable but- little did he know- he had a surprise.

Moon was standing there in the darkness of Sun's abode, holding a small cake with a single candle on it. "You- you actually remembered?", Sun asked genuinely shocked. However, it quickly  became gratitude once he realised...Moon remembered. "I- Is this all for me?" Moon nodded and Sun felt a tear in one of his eyes. "I- thank you Moon.", he sniffled happily.

The End.

Notes:

Well, I'm leaving it here. I'll write here again if I'm motivated but- for now- I'll leave it here. Thank you guys so much for all the support. It really, really, means a lot.

Chapter 11: Moon and the stars

Summary:

Moon sees the stars.

Chapter Text

Moon and the stars.

Someone knocked on the door. It opened to reveal Sun who glowed up at seeing Moon. "Moony!", he exclaimed, "Come with me to Void 59! The stars are extra bright tonight and I wanna see them!"

Moon would've said no- since he was planning to just watch TV- but Sun's happy expression made him relent.

The two animatronics headed to the void....and were unable to see anything.

Unfortunately, Moon never did realise how dark Void 59 was but luckily Sun was prepared.

"Don't worry! I got it covered!" Sun scrunched up his face for a few moments before a loud 'ping!' was heard and Sun's whole body lit up. "I- uhm- don't use that ability often..." Moon merely stared silently.

...

However, things went south when HE began to prod in Moon's mind.

Moon felt a sudden JOLT! in his mind. His red eye twitched. Oh no...

Oh yes...

He ran to the restroom, ignoring Sun's cries.

...

Moon needed time to think. He couldn't allow Sun to see HIM.

Moon looked into the mirror, studying those darting red eyes...

"Hello."

Moon stood up and looked behind him. There, sitting with a newspaper in hand, was an animatronic like him. He looked like Sun but coloured like burnt Mac and Cheese. The stranger smiled at him, his teeth sharp. "Is something the matter? Are you lost?" Moon huffed and turned away. The stranger scoffed, "Fine. Just asking. The name's Eclipse by the way."

Moon didn't really like the stranger but he couldn't help but feel...intrigued by him.

...

"MOON!", Sun essentially screamed, "Where have you been?! I've been so worried!" He hugged Moon harshly, snuggling into Moon's chest. Moon looked up and saw-

He moved Sun's head so that he could catch a glimpse of the stars too. Sun immediately lit up. "OMG OMG! It's the stars!", he exclaimed, "Don't worry! I have marshmallows!" He pulled out a bag of said marshmallows and Moon would smile if he could.

Moon may've not been able to watch TV today but he was able to spend the day with Sun.
