This is my second fan fiction. This story came to me in a dream last night and I decided to write it down!

Chapter 1: Kybers help the heart grow fonder

Chapter Text

It was a hot and humid night on Takadana,
Maz Kanata's castle was vibrant tonight. Everyone was either a little tipsy or full blown drunk. This meant that the castle was full of gleeful, drunk pirates and twi’leks dancing to the that nights band. Cassian, also know as Joreth Sward was sitting at the bar waiting to meat with his informant. He would have the occasional drink here and there and was fond of Corellian Ale as much as the next guy but he knew he had to be careful. He was on a mission and when he was on a mission he made it his rule not to get drunk but tonight he knew to fit in he would have to have a drink or two so he wouldn’t seem suspicious. While waiting for his contact he’d had a few people approach him. Mostly women of both human and alien species who were trying to, no doubt, charge up their loading ramps with him. He wasn’t ignorant to the fact he as a handsome man and that women tended to find him attractive and he wasn’t against the occasional connect-disconnect (one-night stand) but again his priorities were his mission. The rebels needed resources for there new base and he was tasked with coming to Takodano to meet with a smuggler to try to do just that. His contact was good. A smuggler who had been known to help him in the past. The smuggler he was going to meet with wasn’t a fan of them empire but definitely not a supporter of the rebel alliance so hence why Cassian disguised himself as Joreth and his cover story was he was setting up a school to train young ones about different survival skills like learning how to defend themselves, fly ships, read holopads, droid programming and much more. His contact seemed to buy his story but the smuggler didn’t really care as long as he was getting paid. His contact was usually never late and this was his third time meeting him on Takodana so he was slightly worried about his tardiness.

Cassian continued to drink his ale and was on his third pint and starting to feel the buzz but he needed to keep up his act in order to maintain a low profile. While he continued to wait his people watching skills began to get a bit hazy. He usually was on high alert but he could tell the ale was starting to impair his focus. He was focused in on a table in the corner where he saw a young female, maybe about his age talking to a human like droid, must’ve been a Pyke. He, fortunately had no crossed path with any pykes before but he knew there reputation surely preceded them being the most known suppliers of black market spice. Usually he made it a point to not stare at any one person too long, as to not bring on too much attention to himself, he learned his lesson on Niamos, but he wasn’t sure if it was the third pint of ale that kept him staring or the girl herself. She was mid height, slender but curvy and had a chocolate brown hair with emerald eyes. In all honestly she wasn’t the prettiest woman he had scene. She was pretty pale and appears to be a little scrawny despite the curves. She also looked a little dirty and wore tattered clothes.

As he continued to keep his eyes on the girl, he tried to focus in on the conversation but the room was filled with commotion from other wasted humans and aliens alike. It was also getting harder to see as the air had slight fog to it probably from all the smoking. He got bits and pieces of the conversation. “…we had a deal, you promised me you would get me those docs.” The girl seemed flustered but didn’t raise her voice to loud and managed to keep her calm. “…well like I said, we needed the whole shipment and you only brought half…” the puke responded. The rest of what the humanoid was saying kept getting muffled by the rest of the castles chatter and the loud music from the band. They continued arguing back and forth and then he saw it. The humanoid had a blaster aimed right at the brunette under the table. Cassian sprung up and leaped to action he ran to the table as quickly as he could and by the time he reached them he had already heard the shot. He looked up at the girl, knowing her fate but when he reached them he saw the pyke fall forward clearly dead. He looked back at the girl and it looks like she had actually had her blaster hidden as well and got the shot first. Cassian was impressed and glad to see she was alive. The whole bar was in a commotion now. Everyone was running in different directions. The girl jumped up as quickly as she could and sprinted out of the bar. Cassian was curious and definitely still a little tipsy from all the ale and he doesn’t know why but he decided to follow her.

She was running through the castle blaster in one hand and finger on the trigger ready for action. All of a sudden she stopped and pointed the blaster behind her at Cassian. This was the first thing she spoke to him.

“Take one more step and I will blown brains out.” Cassian froze there, hands up and I’m shock. What did he expect, she just shot a pyke and was sure they would come after her and here he was following her, of course he looked like he was after her. In reality he just wanted to see if she was ok. He was drawn to her. There was something about her that he felt like he needed to chase after her. He quickly found the words to say and and they just started to spew out of him like word vomit.

“Don’t shoot, please, I am not with that man you shot, I just was watching and saw his blaster and thought I could come over and help you.” He saw the look on her face of disgust. She continued to hold her blaster pointed at him.

“I don’t need your help, I managed just fine on my own. What I need is for you to stop following me so I can plan my escape.” She yelled at him. He should’ve been scared but he’s been in this position unfortunately many times. Even though she seemed intense. He had a feeling she wouldn’t shoot him. “If you’re telling the trust, tell me your name and why you’re here on Takodano.” He didn’t expect for her to ask him his name and backstory but luckily he had his his cover already ready to go for his mission.

He didn’t hesitate before answering her.
“Names, Joreth Sward, I am meeting a smuggler here to get supplies for a new training school I am starting.” Luckily lying was his forte and he had already practice and used this lie several times for this mission and previous ones. Her face still looked serious and distrusting.

Cassian began to talk more. “ I promise I’m not here to hurt you, I just genuinely was trying to help but I can clearly see you don’t need my help so I will just go back where I came from.” He hoped she would let him go.

“Why should I believe you? You’re the one following around a young women for no reason but to “help”. I know people and people don’t help others, especially ones that look like me.” She was still harsh in her tone but he saw a little bit of insecurity within her speech. He could tell she tried to hide it deep down but it came up slightly in her tone.

All of sudden, they both heard footsteps moving fast and coming towards them. He grabbed his blaster and shot at the pykes who started approaching them. The girl helped and shot at them as well. The knocked a few out but more continued to follow. Cassian looked at the brunette and yelled in a hushed tone to run.

They both took off in a sprint down the corridor. Looking for any type of escape. They checked every door and they were all locked. The could hear the footsteps getting closer when all of sudden Cassian stepped near the door and it opened. He grabbed the girl and pulled her in. Then close the door shut. They both stumbled and she fell on top of him. The room was dark and they were both sweating from evading death.

Cassian looked into her emerald eyes for a moment and could see so much within them. She seemed so defeated and tired. The bags under her eyes were no doubt from lack of comfortable sleep. Her hair was greased from probably no available fresher and she has dirt on her cheek. He didn’t even realize what he was doing until it was done but he brushed the dirt off her cheek. This caused her to freak out and jump off him as quickly as possible.

“Who do you think you are. Is this why you really followed me to rape me.” She held his blaster up to him again. Why did she assume he was going to rape her. Had she been molested before. He’d started to think if she has been on the run, maybe it was from an abusive partner or maybe a father. This made him sad to think that she didn’t trust anyone. But he also understand why.

“No! I would never do that to anyone. I am sorry I’m just a bystander who had to much to drink and thought I saw someone in distress, that’s all. I swear.” She took her finger off the trigger and put the blaster back in her holster. She was still panting and sweating from the running and jumping off him but he couldn’t stop looking at her. She may have been a little dirty but she was glistening. He never really had a type before. He usually just hooked up with women for selfish needs. He wasn’t looking for love but a quick kriff. There was no need to fall in love anyway. It would just cause him to be week. He would never have a family because he knew what having loved ones meant. It meant the empire could use them against you or they could be collateral damage in his line of work. He did imagine having a family when he was younger living on Kenari when he saw his parents so happy and what is like to have a sibling and just over all being loved but all of that was gone and he couldn’t go through that again with his own spouse and kids so he vowed not to start a family.

“I’m sorry, I just sick of men thinking they have to save me or men who use me to get what they want. I take care of myself, ever since I was sixteen.” He didn’t expect her to apologize let alone tell him about her life but he didn’t mind it.

“I know and I swear I’m not that guy, I just had too much to drink and I don’t know I just like to help people.” They were just talking now, waiting out and hoping the pykes were gone soon. Luckily they locked themselves in the room so no one could enter. It was a small closet of sorts, there cleaning supplies but also trinkets and other types of antique looking items in here.

“Is that why you are starting a school?” She questioned and this threw him off guard. He forgot about his cover story for a second. He had never been asked by the anyone before about the fake school he was creating.

“Yeah, I just want to help people mostly and stick it to the empire.” It wasn’t a lie because he really did want to help people and hated the empire. He shouldn’t have mentioned the empire, she could be with them and even rat him out for money but for some reason he trusted her.

“So what are you starting a new rebellion or something” she chuckled. He stood there in shock. How did she guess after just fifteen minutes of talking. “Oh relax I’m not going to rat you out, rebellions don’t work so go ahead get yourself killed.” His blood was boiling at her response, who was she to say rebellions didn’t work. She’d probably been collateral damage to someone from the rebellion. Maybe she lost a loved one from a rebel attack. It was uncommon for the empire to punish a whole city for a few rebels living within or maybe she’d been apart of a rebel cell herself that was torn apart. He has seen rebel feels get destroyed by the empire so it wouldn’t be a wild thought. She did know her away around a blaster and didn’t seem remotely scared of the pyke she killed. Could this woman really have been in a rebel cell. Maybe that’s why she was so distrusting, maybe she was on the run. He’s been in her shoes once before if that was case. Sometimes he still feels like he is on the run and hasn’t stopped running since he was six.

“You know it’s not a bad thing to be hopeful and want the galaxy to have a better future.” He snapped back at her comment about rebels.

“From my experience, there is no hope. I’ll just have to fend for myself because no one cares about me or if I get killed..” So she had been burnt before. But he did care about if she was killed. He risked his mission and life to make sure she was safe and he didn’t even know her. She could’ve been with the empire for all he knew.

“I care if you get killed.” Cassian knew he was being vulnerable but he wanted to give her hope that some people on the galaxy
still cared about her.

“You don’t actually care. It’s what all the rebels do, they pretend to care until it comes down to their life versus your own. And spoiler alert you’ll always pick the latter. Which I can’t blame you for. But don’t give me the this nerf shit making me believe you care about a girl like me.” She scoffed at him but she wasn’t totally wrong, most people were self interested, he used to be. But not anymore.

“You know you’re not wrong to a degree. I used to be like that, but I do care about good people. I can tell you’re an innocent person and your life isn’t just collateral damage.” He saw something in her. He didn’t quite know what but she had a spark to her and wanted to help ignite it. “You haven’t told me your name yet.” He was hoping she finally trusted him a little.

“It’s Kestral…” She said without hesitation.

-

“… dawn.” She didn’t mind telling him her name because this was an alias she had for almost a year now and planned to get a new one from the pyke. She had done a kessel run for him but when she got there they would only give her half of his supply. They said something about deferred payment. But she knew it didn’t matter because he wouldn’t care even thought it was his fault so she needed a plan. Her plan mostly consisted of distracting him long enough to steal his scan doc he was trading her with her new identity, Liana Hallik, but he had other ideas. She saw the blaster that was gonna mill her and made a quick decision. Her plan didn’t include killing him, grabbing the scan docs, running away and hiding out on a closet with an attractive man. She couldn’t deny his features. He had full head a dark and curly hair with a matching mustache and very tan skin and brown eyes. His was tall and handsome no doubt and his was muscular as well. She had been with men before who were handsome but not quite to his level. If circumstances were different she would definitely enjoy being with him for a night.

“Well Kestral, we should probably hang out in here for a bit, since the door is locked and all the other rooms were around it I don’t think they will be suspicious.” Great now she was going to be trapped with this man for awhile in a small closet. This was definitely not in her plan. She’d need to sneak out of here and get to her ship which is a few clicks hidden away. Hopefully the man she killed, friends didn’t find her before her escape.

“Yeah I agree. Maybe we can make a break for in a few hours.”

A few minutes passed by, she mostly stared at the wall thinking back on how she got here in this situation. Life was easier when she was kid. She usually didn’t let herself think about the before time on La’hmu but it was a good time. Her parents were happy and loved her so much then after the man in white came and took both of them from her, she hasn’t been the same kind of happy since. She’d found herself in times where she had happy moments. When she was with Saw there were good times and all the other people she had met on the way she found temporary happiness with but recently she hadn’t had many people she enjoyed being around. Everyone recently had been a con artist or just a one night thing. She had recently hooked up with a man on Takodoma, there was attraction for sure but he didn’t know how to please a woman and it showed. She didn’t orgasm that night and so she made sure neither did he. It had been a long since she had a real orgasm, a mind blowing one not cause by herself but by an another man or woman. She has been with both and from her experience either way she had gotten bliss but recently she was in a dry spell just trying to stay alive. She shifted her focus to Joreth and he was looking around at some of the antiques on the room. She couldn’t help but stare at him. He was a little scruffy but had a sex appeal to him that made her want to find out if he was any good at pleasing a woman. He caught her staring, she turned away quickly and pretended to be looking at the thing he was holding. She was about to open her mouth to speak but he got there first.

“You know, I really do think you are beautiful.” She didn’t know what she was expecting him to say but it wasn’t that. Has he seen her staring and thought maybe she wanted him to make a move. Maybe he was trying to manipulate her so she would give him something he wanted. It didn’t matter why he said it. She knew it wasn’t true.he started to walk toward her.

“I mean if you know.” He pushed her hair out of her face and looked into her eyes. “Your eyes are as vibrant as kyber and you’re curvy in all the right places.” He looked her up and down. She wanted to be disgusted at his words but she was starting to get heated from his touch and the things he said. It had been such a long time since she was with someone but was this really the right time. They were hiding in a kriffing closet for siths sake. What if the pykes found her and she died mid orgasm by a blaster shot to the head. Well I guess there were worst ways to die.

She leaned forward and kissed him. She decided to make the first real move. He responded to the kiss positively. He kissed her back and passionately. Pulling her in closely, grabbing at her hair hair with one hand and touching her hips with the other. She could feel her heat getting wetter and desired more. She involuntarily started to thrust her hips into his pelvis and grind her growing heat into his dick. She felt him getting harder and his need for her getting stronger. He started to kiss and suck on her neck. Working his way up to her chest and massaging her breasts. She couldn’t help but let out a little moan. He was making her feel so good. She started to remove her shirt and he quickly aided her in the removal. Revealing her breasts in full view. Her Kyber crystal necklace hung from her neck, right between her breasts. He helped her remove it so it wouldn’t be in the way. He ripped off her bra and her pink nipples and small tits were there for his pleasure. He pulled her back in for another kiss and grabbed one of her breasts in doing so. He started to massage it again and slowly deciding to flick her nipple. She began to moan again and thrust her hips into his dick harder. She was starting to get overheated. She needed him to touch her more and soon. When she started to grind harder into him. She knew he caught onto her signal of her wetness and need for his touch there. He pushed her against the wall and took off his shirt swiftly. He was study, he had chiseled features but not over chiseled and his tanned skin made her melt. He got on his knees and started to remove her pants. She looked down at him and her exposed self. She had a small bush but he didn’t seem to mind. With one hand still on her boob and the other spreading her legs apart. He worked his hand on her boob down to her stomach and then hips and then inner thighs. He was building up to her heat. She could tell he knew what he was doing and had pleased a woman before. He then began to trace his fingers in her folds. This sent her mad, her head jerked back and she let out a hard moan, he responded by moving through her folds faster and using the other finger to penetrate her vagina. He started out slow and moved quicker and quicker. While he had his fingers inside her he used his other hand to spread apart her folds and then he brought his mouth to her clitoris and began to lick and suck. Was he really eating her out right now. She can’t remember the last time someone did this for her. Maybe he really was good person and not self interested. He continue to suck and lick her heat and she felt her orgasm coming on. She was uncontrollably moaning now and had her fingers in his hair. Her climax was fast approaching. He could definitely tell and swiftly picked up the pace. Faster and harder he moved in and out of her and his tongue worked fast on her clitoris. She began to arch her back and scream out, “don’t stop, keep going, I’m almost thereeee..ahhh” and there is was she was riding out this bliss as he continue to move. When he realized she was coming down from her orgasm he licked his lips and looked up at her and said.

“I thought you might enjoy that.” As he stood up. She saw how hard he was and she wanted to give him the same pleasure. She grabbed him and removed his pants to reveal his cock. She pushed him down onto a nearby chest and slid herself onto his cock. She bounced up and down and rode him. He grabbed her tits while she continued to ride him. She could tell he liked it because he thrusted back and started to moan from the pleasure. He gripped onto her hips hard and thrusted harder. She could tell he wanted more and honestly so did she. He pulled her off is cock and bent her over the chest. He was going to hit bee from behind. This was so much better. He was hitting her in the all the right places. He thrusted harder into her until he found their rhythm. She felt herself building up again and could feel her second orgasm coming on. He continued to thrust in her and as he thrusted harder she moaned out. “Please don’t stop.” She felt her climax again and he continued to thrust. She started to feel that familiar bliss of orgasm and he was moaning as well. He pulled in and out one final time and his orgasm filled her insides.

They were both breathing heavily as the separated. They both went to put their clothes back on and didn’t speak.

-

Well this is not how Cassian expected this night to go. He was supposed to meet his contact for his smuggled good not get freaky with someone in a closet. Well I guess he broke all of his rules tonight. It was worth it though. He hasn’t been hooking up a lot lately with the rebellion alliance building their new base and it was hard to masturbate because Kaytuu was always around. This is exactly what he needed. He’s been working so hard for the alliance he needed a good distraction and it’s not like he was going to see her again.

As he put on his clothes. He heard her speak.

“Thanks, for well everything.” He loved hearing her thank him for everything, he wanted to show her that people were still good and they cared. Granted he was being a built selfish but the way she reacted to his touch and his mouth on her was worth it. She was a little uptight and could tell she needed a good fuck to maybe loosen up a bit.

“Oh you’re so welcome.” He smiled at her and gave her a wink.

“Oh Lord, I take it all back.” She rolled her eyes. He chuckled and pulled her in for another kiss. I’m between kisses he spoke.
“Oh.. you definitely liked it, maybe round two?” He asked her while he tried to suck on her neck. She let out a moan but then remembered that they were still running from the pykes. She pushed him away.

“I’m sorry Joreth, but as much fun as that was we need to stay more vigilant, what is the pykes would’ve came in during that.” She alluded to the sex they just had.

“I mean we could’ve asked them to join.” He was clearly teasing her and laughed.

“I’m serious, they could’ve killed us both, we let our guard down.” If there was one thing she learned with Saw, letting your guard down will get you killed.

“Oh come on, we both know if they haven’t found us yet in here they won’t. Let’s just relax for a few more hours then leave.” He leaned back on a pile of clothes and shut his eyes.

“I guess I’ll take the first watch.”

After a few minutes he began to snore and she knew he was out. She gathered her things and snuck out. She knew it’s be easier this was. She wasn’t good at goodbyes especially after one-night stands with random men she just met. She unlocked the door and walked out. She felt bad about leaving him but it’s like he said if they hadn’t doing them yet they were going to find them. She did feel bad because she left the door unlocked and him vulnerable to acts but maybe he should know better than to fall asleep next to someone you just met.

She ran down the corridor looking for an exit. She looked outside and it was dawn. Still dark with enough light to find her ship. She crept out an entry way, there weren’t many people around since it was the early morning. Just a few drunks who had passed out in the front of the bar. She found her way back to the ship dodging some pyke along the way.

She wasn’t the best pilot but she’d picked up enough. She turned on the engine and floored it. She took off faster than blaster bolt. She jumped into hyper space and started her journey to her next adventure as Liana Hallik.

As she was cruising through space she reached down and realized she forgot her moms kyber crystal necklace. Joreth had taken it off when exposing her chest. She was incredibly sad. It was the one thing she had left from her mother. She wanted to go back but she knew she would be a goner if she did. There wasn’t anything she could do and a single tear she’s from her eye onto her cheek and that was all she allowed herself to mourn.

-

Cassian was dreaming about her. He dreamed they were on an outer rim planet living in a small cottage on the off skirts of city nearby. I’m his dream there were no threats to them. It didn’t seem like the empire was there and they were at peace. They sat in chairs and watched two dark haired kids with emerald eyes play. He was in heaven, this was the life and then he heard a scream.

“What are you doing in here?!” A familiar voice yelled.

He jostled awake and jumped up and grabbed his blaster.

“Put that away boy, it’s just me.” It was Max, the owner of the bar. She knew all about the alliance and his real identity. He put down his blaster and looked around and noticed Kestral was gone.

“So are you going to tell me why you are sleeping in my storage closet?” Maz yelled.

He had to come up with something quick. He could tell the partial truth.

“Uhh… there was fight last night and somehow they thought I was involved so I ran down the corridor and hid in the closet until things settles down but I guess I fell asleep. I’m sorry Maz, I’ll be out of your hair.” He gathered his things and started for the door. He wondered what happens to Kestral, was it all a just a dream. No he knew it was real, the way she touched him had to be real. He was halfway out the door when he heard Maz yell. “Hey you forgot this!” He turned around and she was holding up a kyber crystal on a small leather cord. It was Kestrel’s necklace, he took it off her. I guess when she left, she must’ve forgotten this. He turned around to grab it from her.

“Thanks Maz, can’t lose that it’s too important.” He put it around his neck and tucked it into his shirt. He would wear it as a reminder of her. He would never forget that night they spent together and now he had a real momentum from it. It was unlikely he would ever see her again but if he did he could give it back. He knew they were valuable and he was sure she would want it back.

He started for room he was staying at nearby so he could collect his things and head back to base. Draven was going to kill him for not getting the supplies but he can honestly say he waited for hours and he didn’t show.

He got to his ship and started up the engines. He immediately called into the comms at rebel base.

“Hello , come in. It’s Captain Andor, mission failed, no show, no supplies, coming back soon.“ he was vague on purpose just in case someone had intercepted his message.

When he arrived back to base. He immediately went to debrief with General Draven.

“Hello Captain, I got your message. I am disappointed but understanding that the contact didn’t show and didn’t communicate his absence. I hope we weren’t double crossed but luckily he never had personal information so regardless if he worked for the empire or got caught by them he wouldn’t be able to tell them anything.” General Draven greeted him.

“Yes, I know we needed those supplies for the alliance, so this mission was a failure and now we will need to find a new way to gain supplies.” Draven actually seemed reasonable and not angry. I guess from his perspective it didn’t seem like his fault.

“Well I will inform the council. Go get some rest Captain. We will meet again tomorrow for more inquiries on supplies.” Draven released him to bed.

Cassian made it to his quarters and he powered on Kaytuu.

“Hello Cassian, you are back early, I assume your missions failed. There was only a thirty-one percent chance of success so the odds were stacked against you.” Kay didn’t realize he was making him feel disappointed about his mission but it wasn’t his fault.

“That’s enough Kay, can you run a quick check on my health.”

“You know I am not a med droid, right?”

“Kay, we go through this every time, you have been programmed to help me in case of medical emergencies.”

“I don’t see any medical emergency, did you get shot or stabbed?”

“No I did not, just run the kriffing labs, Kay.”

“Alright, running them now.” Kay scanned Cassian for any anomalies and he even ran a sample of his blood.

“Everything looks normal, sir.”

“Thanks” Cassian begins to remove his clothes to get in the fresher and then sleep.

“Cassian, what’s that around your neck?” Cassian forgot about the crystal. How was he going to explain how he got a rare Kyber crystal around his neck.

“Oh, I found it on Takodoma.” He hoped Kay would drop it.

“I find that answer vague and unconvincing.”

“Just drop it Kay,”

“Ok, but kyber crystals are extremely rare and the odds of finding one are one in two-point-three million so I will assume you did not find and are being dishonest about what happened on takodoma.”he was lying but he couldn’t risk anyone knowing about Kestral and how he let his personal urges over come his orders.

“Kay, seriously just leave it alone. It’s a long story and I’m tired.”

“Ok, get some rest. Humans are so strange for needed to sleep, I’ll never understand your species.”

Cassian fell asleep that night holding on the kyber crystal, it made him feel weird like something was different. He could almost like his life shifted after last night. He drifted off to sleep.

-

Six months later

Cassian wasn’t thrilled about today, today was day he had to to Jyn Erso, daughter of Galen Erso, to Jedha to help find Saw Guerrera. Why would the daughter of an imperial scientist who helped created this terrible weapon want to help them. Clearly she wasn’t going to help them defeat the empire that her father worked for.

They finally got back from the extraction, and he saw Melshi on his way to the med bay. He was all bloodied and bruised up.

“What happened Melshi, did the stormtroopers get you.” He chuckled slightly.

“Even worse.” He paused and rolled his eyes.

“Wait what happened, for real?” He seemed more concreted by Melshi’s tone.

“The girl..” wait you’re telling me Jyn Erso beat Melshi up.

“I don’t understand, the imperial scientist daughter did this, I knew she was bad news.” This only proves that this was a bad idea.

“Yes.” Melshi wasn’t really in the mood for talking not only was he physically hurting b it his pride hurt as well.

“Well why didn’t you just fight back?”
Melshi just smiled at him.

“Oh that’s the fun part.” What could that mean. Melshi went into the med bay and left Cassian to ponder about what he said.

Cassian went to the war room, to see if the council was there yet.

He barged in, “We have to cancel this mission, did you see what she did to Melshi and I’m sure the others as well.” Cassian interrupted their meeting.

“Captain Andor, welcome, and yes we are debating cancelling the mission, would you care to take a seat.” She was talking so calmly to him even though he lost his cool. He looked around at the council, they all seemed surprised but not by him. They were all staring at something behind him.

He turned around saw her, it was Kestral Dawn. He couldn’t believe it. What was she doing there and why were they all staring and then he looked just a little bit down and saw it. She had a noticeable bump.

Genera Mothma spoke to Cassian.

“Captain Andor, meet Jyn Erso.”

The kyber crystal around his neck felt hot on his chest.

“Oh for Kriffs sake.” Cassian yelled outloud.

Chapter 2: Bumped into you

Chapter Text

Cassian felt like he couldn’t breathe. There she was, his mystery woman from Takodana. He still remembered that night very clearly, he was unfocused during this mission because of ale and her presence. And there she was standing right in front of him but not as Kestral Dawn but as Jyn Erso, an imperial scientist’s daughter. And for the biggest shock of it all, she seemed to be with child. He tried to do the math in his head and how long it had been since that fateful night they spent in the closet in Maz’s castle. It couldn’t have been more than six months in standard galactic time.

He hadn’t been around many pregnant women before so it’s hard to say if the child she was carrying was his or not but there was definitely a possibility. His head was spinning at this thought. He couldn’t be a father, not right now. But he also couldn’t abandon this child if it was his. How could this be happening, why did she have to be the daughter of Galen Erso.

-

It was him, Joreth, one of the best men she had ever been with and the father of the child she was carrying and he was standing in front of her but as someone named Cassian Andor.

After their encounter, she was making a new name for herself as Liana Hallik. She was doing small jobs here and there for people on different planets in the Five Points system when she first started to notice the signs of the baby within her. Her cycle was never regular due to all the malnutrition and wear and tear to her body, honestly she wasn’t sure she could even get pregnant after the torture she suffered by stormtroopers on her failed mission with that “petty dictator”.

She was beaten everyday until her escape from them but it had left her body mangled with scars and bruises. She was sure she also cracked her ribs and was lucky not to have internal bleeding but they used stun prods on her genitals and she was sure that torture was for their pleasure and would cause her to be infertile.

She was helping a family on Watassay smuggle a family member to Rumitaka to recover treatment for them at a medical condition. At this point she had been feeling pretty nauseated, fatigued and lightheaded for a bit but tried to ignore it. While waiting for her clients treatment, she decided to ask one of the med droids there for stims to feel better but the droid insisted on a blood panel and that’s when she found out she was twelve weeks pregnant. She was shocked, how this could happen. She had only been with one person in the last few months and it was only the one time. The med droid offered to have her see a doctor on site to confirm through a scan.

When she saw the scan of her baby, it was so small and looked like a little alien but she heard the heartbeat and instantly felt something. At first she wanted to get rid of it but once she heard the heartbeat it was real and the thought of having a family, even if it was just her and this child was more than enough to give her some hope.

She finished her mission and returned the client home to Watassay and decided she needed to find a good place for her to raise her child that wasn’t touched by the empire.

She continued to do small smuggling jobs here and there to save money while she looked for a place to live.

She was working with a rebel cell group to help forge codes for them but got caught by an imperial admiral who arrested her but agreed to let her out if she were to give up the location of the rebel cell. She felt like she had no choice in the matter, she couldn’t have her baby in prison. After she helped Admiral Bethava Rocwyn locate the rebels, the officer had betrayed her and had her sent to an imperial labor prison on Wobani.

She had truly hit rock bottom, she had tried to hide her pregnancy from the admiral and other imperial officers but as the days went on her bump was getting harder to hide.

As soon as she was transported on her first day at Woboni, she was extracted by the rebellion. At first she fought thinking they were there to kill her for her betrayal to the rebel cell in Five Points. She attacked the men who were trying to capture her and after hitting them all she saw her escape through the back door. She ran as fast as you could but when she made it to the outside she was picked up by an imperial droid. Before the droid threw her down he announced to the others.

“There is a 94.3% chance this female human is pregnant.”

-

“Hello Captain Andor or should I say, Joreth.” He dropped his mouth at the sound of his alias name from her mouth. He stood there shocked and speechless at the sight of her. His silence was disrupted by General Mothma.

“Oh.. I see you have met Captain Andor before then, under his alias, Joreth Sward. Well we need to discuss the new plans of the mission.” She asked the room.

“I mean we can’t send a women in her state to a war zone. It wouldn’t be right.” Senator Organa spoke.

“Senator, I completely agree, it wouldn’t be right but what are we going to do with the girl now?” General Dodonna retorts.

“I say we put her back in prison, she is a criminal.” General Draven spoke.

“You can’t put her back in prison!” Cassian yelled interrupting Draven.

“Captain Andor, don’t worry I have no intentions of putting a pregnant female back into a labor prison.” General Motha reassured him.

“Do I get a say?” Jyn spoke up.

“No!” They all shouted back in unison.

“We still need a way to reach Saw however to find out the message from the pilot.” Senator Organa spoke up.

“Yes, what if we pretended that we took the girl capture and sent saw a message asking for a ransom of that message. We could send a message through Cassian to Jedha.” Draven told the group.

“And what will stop Saw from striking me dead right there on the spot.” Cassian retorted.

“Because you will tell him if he doesn’t let you go with the message and the pilot that we will send Jyn and her unborn child back to prison on Wobani.” Draven told the group.

“General Draven, that is an extreme thing to do to a young women with child. The alliance doesn’t use people like that.” Mothma responded.

“We wouldn’t actually send her back to jail but we could keep her here on Yavin IV but Saw doesn’t need to know that.” Draven responded.

“That could work.” General Dodonna spoke up.

“Unfortunately, I think it’s our only option General.” Senator Organa said to Mothma.

“Jyn, what do you think?” Mothma waited for her response.

“Honestly, I would rather go to Jedha myself to seek out Saw. I have done more risky things while pregnant and I don’t think Saw would change his response just because of my current state.” She told the group.

“Jyn, I am not your officer so I cannot tell you what to do but if you feel safe going to an active war zone in your state then so-be-it.” General Mothma responded. She then turned to him. “Captian, continue your assigned mission and take Jyn to Saw to get that message.”

“Yes, General” he responded. He wasn’t thrilled about the idea of taking Jyn to Jedha. It was dangerous and she may or may not be pregnant with his child.

-

The room dispersed except for the lingering of him and Jyn.

She spoke first. “So I guess we both lied about who we really were that night.” She laughed a little bit to ease the awkward silence in the room. He spoke in a stern voice and looked right into her eyes.

“Is it mine?” His face was stoic when he spoke.

“Joreth, I mean Cassian, you’re the only person I have been with in the last year”

-

His suspicions were confirmed, the baby she was carrying was his. There was no way he was going to take her to Jedha now. He couldn’t risk her life or his baby’s in a war zone but he didn’t have a choice. He had orders from his commander.

“I don’t expect anything from you if that’s what you’re worried about.” She shouted defensively at him.

“You can’t go to Jedha with me, you have to tell the war council you changed your mind.”

“I have to, once we get to Jedha, I am going to convince Saw to let me take a ship to leave.”

“You can’t leave, you are carrying my child Jyn!” He yelled at her. “I deserve the respect of being there. I don’t want this child to think they didn’t have a father. I know what it’s like to lose parents and I can’t let you leave with him or her.” He was emotional and knew he couldn’t control her but he would follow her. “If you leave Jedha, I am going with you.”

“What are you talking about Mr. Perfect Rebel, you’re not going to leave this place. You bleed the rebellion and will follow them anywhere blindly. You’re not going to leave them for me.” She laughed at him but in a condescending type of way.

“You don’t know me and what my intentions are.” He defended himself to her

“I know that you slept with me even though you were on a mission. I’m sure that’s probably frowned upon in the alliance.” She was infuriating him.

“Just go to the ship, Kay will meet you there.” He screamed.

“I don’t even know who Kay is so how am I gonna figure out which ship, for an intelligence office you really lack intelligence.” He rolled his eyes at her.

“Oh I think you’ll remember him just fine as he was the imperial droid who picked you up six feet in the air. You literally can’t miss him so maybe just use your eyes.”

“Well where are you going to be?” He was annoyed by her line of questioning. He didn’t have to answer to her but he knew he was going to anyway.”

“I have some quick things to wrap up. I will be there in fifteen minutes. Tell Kay to be prepared to leave right away. Please and thanks” he didn’t really mean please and thanks politely but was pretty sure she could tell and she stomped out of them room.

On his com link, he called for and emergency meeting with General Mothma.

She came to the war room in just under a few minutes.

“Captain, why are you still here? Aren’t you and Jyn supposed to be leaving for Jedha?”

“Yes, she and Kay are on the ship now preparing for takeoff. I wanted to talk to you because I only trust you to know what I am about to tell you and I need someone on base to know just in case I don’t come back.”

“Captain, I know the mission is a tad dangerous but I’m sure you’ll be fine you have done far worst. But you can tell me anything, Captain and depending on the situation I can make sure to keep it a secret.”

“General, I appreciate it, I understand if you’d have to tell someone for safety concerns but for now I’m telling you to make sure someone knows.”

“Of course, continue Captain.”

“Sorry this is kind of hard to say because I’m still processing it myself but basically the mission I had on Takadona to meet the smuggler for supplies was actually the night I met Jyn Erso, who was under a different alias at the time and I was undercover as Joreth. That is how she knew my alias. We met that night because she was seemed to be in a sticky situation with the Pykes. I tried to help her and long story short, that night is the reason Jyn is pregnant with my child.” He was a little ashamed to admit this anyone but he’d know Mon Mothma for years and she was never judgmental of him and always kind to everyone. He knew she was the right person to trust.

“Oh my, Cassian that is a lot to process. I am not sure what to tell you. I will keep your secret unless there is a specific need to reveal it to other for safety but I understand your need for secrecy. I will update both of your classified medical files so the med droids and doctors are informed. You have always been an asset to the rebellion since the very beginning so we will do what we can to help but for now it seems you have your hands full with this current mission. So I will bid you adieu and expect to hear from you soon. Please be safe and I know I don’t have to tell you to protect her. Good luck and may the force be with you.”

“Thank you!” And with that he left the room.

-

Jyn wandered around base until she eventually found her way to the hangar. She saw the imperial droid from her ‘rescue’ and approached them.

“Hello, Jyn Erso, Cassian let me know you would be joining us on our trip to Jedha. I think it’s a bad idea for you to come with but mostly because you’ll get in the way but Cassian thinks it’s a bad idea because apparently your species are weaker when pregnant according to Cassian.” For a droid, he really knew how to push someone buttons. Of course Cassian thought pregnant women were weak. He seemed like a guy who thinks women shouldn’t do anything but carry the babies and make them dinner. Ugh.. she couldn’t believe she let a man with these types of ideologies impregnate her.

“Oh yeah, well woman in other species are the main warriors and when they are pregnant they still fight side by side with their other fellow warriors.” She felt like she won this argument with the droid.

“According to my research you are correct but you are not another species, you are a human, and they tend to be weaker when they carry children.” This infuriated her. She lunged at the droid and Kay picked her up and held her up in the air, similarly to when they were on Wobani but this time with a little more force.

-

“Kay!” Cassian screamed frantically as he saw Jyn hanging from his arm in the air. “Put her down now!” He ran as quickly as he could until he was just right under her.

“Ok, Cassian” Kay dropped Jyn at the moment and he luckily caught her. She was gasping for a breath. And she finally started coughing. She was okay and he felt like his heart stop when he saw her dangling from Kay’s grasp. The baby could’ve been hurt but also she could’ve been hurt as well.

“Jyn, are you ok?” He looked at her with a little relief but still pinged with fear. She breathed in a full breath of air and spoke.

“Put me down. I am more than capable of take care of myself.” She verbally attacked him. “Your stupid droid tried to kill me though.” She whined.

“She lunged at me, Cassian, I was just using my defense protocols.” Kay shouted in defense.

“Kay! I don’t care what she did, you will not choke or cause any other harm to Jyn or our baby.” Kay stared at Cassian in disbelief. Luckily the hangar was pretty dead and no one seemed to be paying attention.

“Cassian, I’m sorry did you just imply that Jyn’s unborn fetus was yours or do I need to clean out my auditory tunnels?” Kay questioned. Cassian put Jyn down during this confrontation with Kay.

He sighed before he spoke “No Kay, you heard correctly. Jyn is carrying our child.”

“Cassian, I know I am just a droid but I do know that in order to reproduce, species have to mate but Jyn seems to be far along to be carrying your child if you just met this morning sir. Unless I misunderstood how long the gestational period is for a human, also I’m not sure if you would have had time to mate this morning since you were with me for most of it. According to my calculations there is a point-2 percent chance this fetus belongs to you.” He looked at Kay astonished after his monologue and he looked at Jyn, who was still fuming from the encounter with Kay. Jyn then looked at him and spoke. “Where did you pick this droid up, he must have a battle droid programming chip or something to think we only just met this morning and I’m this far along.” She laughed as she spoke aloud.

“Hey, I am a capable droid and resent your statement. I am correct about my statistics eighty-nine point three percent of the time.”
Kay said defensively.

“Kay, obviously if I am the father we met before today. It was my mission on Takodana when I was undercover as Joreth. She was also using an alias and I didn’t know she was Jyn Erso.” He explained to Kay.

“Understood but why would you mate with someone to reproduce after just one night of knowing each other.” Kay definitely hadn’t grasped the concept of sex or pleasure. That might have been his fault, he never had taken a lover since knowing Kay and he wouldn’t even jerk off when Kay was around. It’s not like he ever uploaded programming into his system about how reproduction worked anyways.

Jyn was laughing uncontrollably at this strange interaction between the odd pair. “Cassian, you really should’ve given him “the talk” sooner.” She said sarcastically as she continued to laugh at the conversation.

“Cassian, I don’t understand what “talk” she is she referring to. The verbiage of “talk” is vague and unclear.” Kay questioned him. He was speechless because not only was he going to have to explain sex to his droid but in front of Jyn, no less. He was mortified.

“Kay, I didn’t get Jyn pregnant on purpose. When humans and other species interact they sometimes..” he wasn’t sure how he was going to word this without it sounding strange. Especially because he was sure a droid didn’t understand reasons for sex since they couldn’t feel pleasure or anything. “…well.. it’s kinda like they use there..uh..parts…to ummmm….” He was struggling when he was abruptly cut off by Jyn.

“We fucked Kay, for fun. Humans like to mate for fun because it feels good for us.” She blurted out quite bluntly.

“Oh.. I see… so you and Cassian made each other feel good with your genitals.” His face was bright red at this point after hearing Kay refer to his and Jyn’s genitals. “but there is one thing I don’t understand. Why would you do this if it was going to result in a child. Cassian you seem more responsible than this.” Jyn responded again while he just stood there mortified.

“Kay, not everytime two humans fuck do they get pregnant. There’s only a slight chance for a woman to get pregnant each month and I even thought I wasn’t fertile to begin with so we made a mistake. We weren’t trying to get pregnant.” Jyn let out a few tears and finally walked away onto the ship. He could tell she had had enough. He tried to follow her but Kay spoke up.

“I just researched on the holonet about what you guys explained and I’ve decided you need to get a birth control implant as soon as possible. I scheduled you an appointment with a med droid for next week. Obviously it is too late for Jyn but hopefully you don’t “fuck” with any other women and produce anymore children. I still can’t believe you were this irresponsible Cassian.” Wow, was he was really getting lectured by a droid right now.

“Kay, not now please.” He ran on the ship to check on Jyn.

“Humans have too many feelings, being a droid seems a lot easier.” Kay spoke out loud to himself.

Kay is literally so smart but also so clueless.

Chapter Text

When he came onboard he saw her sitting there staring at her lap he wondered what she could be thinking then he saw a small tear shed down her cheek. He felt like he should approach her, she looked so frightened.

“Jyn” he said softly .

“I’m fine Cassian.” She wiped away her tears.

“Jyn, I’m sorry I haven’t been here for you these last few months. Trust me, I would’ve been had I known.” He felt guilty for causing her this hardship. Even though he wasn’t fully alone in the responsibility but he knew how she had to bear most of the consequences, at least right way.

“Oh come on don’t give me that crap, I’m not naive, I know people don’t stick around. They leave when things get hard. You would’ve left even if you would’ve known. The only reason you’re here is your loyalty to the rebellion. They asked you to do this.”

Why did she always assume that he would leave her. What had she been through, that led her to believe he wouldn’t be there and support her and his child no matter what.

“Jyn, why do you act like you know me. I didn’t even have the chance to prove myself. You just assume I am going to abandon you, I wouldn’t do that. This means too much to me.”

“Everyone always talks but no one ever acts.” He didn’t know what to say in response to that.

“I’ll get Kay, so we can leave.” He left her there because he knew he couldn’t prove his loyalty to her right now with words.

-

She knew he would walk away when the conversation got tough. People always do, but it didn’t matter because she had her child now and she would never leave them.

Kay and Cassian got into the pilot seat and got ready to takeoff.

“Hang on back there, Jyn. We’re taking off” Cassian yelled back to her.

She grabbed onto whatever she could on the ship to keep still but once they got into space it started to calm down.

She got out of her seat and looked around the ship. It was a smaller ship, she had been on similar ones before but usually she was on transports. She saw a small bunk area that fit one maybe two people and a cot that had a small duffel bag on it. She opened it up and looked through the contents. She saw some clothes and hygiene products but nothing personal. There was a blaster, which she made sure to grab, Cassian wouldn’t mind, and even if she did, she didn’t care.

She noticed that he had nothing in this bag that resembled having a family, no pictures of parents, partner or children. It was just the essentials, no mementos either like a childhood toy or something of novelty. He either wasn’t very sentimental or didn’t have anything worth keeping. She unfortunately understood, the only thing she had was her kyber necklace from her mother, well not anymore.

She sometimes would reach down and touch her neck forgetting it wasn’t there. She wished she had it so she could it give to her child and they would wear it and think of her when she passed.

She looked around the bag a little bit more and didn’t see much else, but she felt a lump in the side of the bag. It was almost like there was a secret compartment hiding something. She had done it before in her smuggling days so when she looked for the opening to find the hidden item, there was a small hole underneath. It was sewn shut, but It was a shotty job to say the least. She pulled out the object and she couldn’t believe her eyes. It was a kyber crystal on a leather band. It shined, like her kyber but this one was longer and had a beautiful split design of blue and clear crystal.

Was this a sign. Maybe she could give this one to her son or daughter. She heard Cassian’s voice and quickly stuffed it in her pocket, zipped up the bag and threw it down on the cot.

“Hey we are getting ready to land, you may want to sit down.” She was an expert at being discreet so he didn’t even notice that she was snooping through his stuff.

“Yeah, thanks I will go find a seat.” She wanted to ask him about the kyber. Maybe he wouldn’t care if she took it to give it to their child, Or maybe it was gift from a past lover and he was still pining after them. Regardless she should ask before she takes it. It could mean a lot to him like hers did.

“Cassian” She shouted as he started to walk back to his seat in the cockpit.

He must not have heard her and then the ship started to shake as they prepared to land. It took her off guard and she managed to lose her balance and fell and hit her head on the cot.

“Kriff me!” She felt the bump on her forehead from the fall and she noticed she was bleeding. She felt the ships turbulence and then all of sudden the stop where they landed.

She started to stand up when Cassian and her eyes locked on each other.

“Jyn!” He yelled and then he was at her side.

“What happened? Are you okay?” He was grabbing a shirt out of his bag and trying to wipe off the blood.

“Yeah, yeah I am fine just didn’t get to my seat fast enough before landing and my balance is so bad with this baby inside me. Don’t worry I am fine” She wanted to shoo him off her but it was nice having someone worried about her safety for once but she knew it was only because she was carrying his child, so she knew not to get used to it.

“Jyn, maybe you should stay on the ship and I can try to figure out a way to get saw to come too us, “

“You and I both know that Saw will not go for that. I will be fine as long as there is no turbulence on the ground.”

“The local weather on Jedha says its going to be cloudy and windy, and a 54% chance of Jyn falling.” Kay chimes in.

“See, even Kay says you might fall.”

“I will be fine, Cassian. Let’s just go.”

“Fine, let’s go, Kay I need you to stay back.”

“Oh, so the weak pregnant woman who falls get to go but not the steel bodied, smart, imperial looking droid.”

“Yes, I am sure. An imperial droid is going to bring attention and not any of the good kind for us.”

“Fine, but I cannot deliver a pre-term baby so she better keep it inside her.” She had so much disgust for his bluntness and toward hatred for her.

“I think I will manage not to go into labor but I am glad you care so much about my safety, Kay.” She said sarcastically.

“But I’m not, I’m here to look after and protect Cassian, not you.”

“Well Kay, since she’s carrying my child, which is technically a part of me. You will protect her as well. Understood?” Cassian was sticking up for her.

“Fine, Cassian.” Kay responded.

-

He grabs his coat from his bag and then grabs Jyn and they start to head into Jedha city.

The trek wasn’t short and he was starting to get a little winded, so he could only assume that Jyn had to be as well. He looked over at her and to his surprise she was moving along just fine and didn’t show any signs of decline. I guess she was able to beat up those alliance members and almost manage to escape from her rescue.

He decided to take a quick little break to grab some water and Jyn didn’t stop with him. She got about fifty feet ahead and then turned around and yelled at him.

“Come on, you are slower than a nerf.”

“I need some water.” He started to do a little jog to her.

“And you were worried about me keeping up.” She teased him.

“You should drink some water too, you need to stay hydrated.” He handed her the canteen he had been drinking from.

She seemed hesitant at first then grabbed it and took a swig.

“Thanks, you know you don’t have to be nice to me.”

“I know but I want to.” She made it really hard to however, since she was always questioning him on everything he did or said.

-

They had just made it to town right as it started to get chilly. They made their way through the crowds of Jedha, So many types of different species passing by and many little shop stands.

Jyn, usually didn’t like big crowds but they were useful for staying discreet. This however was not one of those times. She felt like everyone was staring at her. She wasn’t used to it but I guess being pregnant did bring a little extra attention on you.

As she walked by a stand in the market, a lady started to yell at them.

“I sell baby clothes, I am sure your baby would be cute in them. When are you due?”

Cassian started to wave her off but she hadn’t even bought any clothes yet or anything for the baby, and this realization hit her right in this moment when the shopkeeper was trying to sell her clothes.

“I am actually due in about three months, Do you have sizes for newborn?” She thought it wouldn’t hurt to look and maybe grab an item or two.

“Jyn, we don’t have time for this,” Cassian tried to grab her arm arm and drag her back in the crowd. She resisted and tugged out of his grip.

“Relax, we can look for a second at clothes for our baby.” Cassian looked annoyed but gave up and let her look.

She perused the items the lady had for sale and even caught Cassian looking too.

She looked over at Cassian and he seemed to have his eye on something.

“What are you looking at?” She questioned him since he seemed to be disinterested before.

“Oh nothing.” He pretended not to care but he was clearly looking at a little swaddle blanket that had hand embroidered kyber crystals on it. It was vibrant with colors, different shades of blue and green mostly but it was beautiful.

“I see you are interested in my kyber crystal swaddle, that is one of my favorite designs and it’s popular with the tourists since Jedha city is the only place you can mine kyber crystals.” The shopkeeper clearly was trying to make a sale. “I can wrap it up for you if you would like and could even give you a little discount. Think of it as an early baby gift for the little one.”

Cassian reached down and touched the embroidered crystal designs and then looked at Jyn and then at the shopkeeper.

“I guess the baby will need a blanket to sleep with.” Cassian tried to keep his enthusiasm in when he said this but Jyn could tell that he was excited to buy it. She saw a little smirk on his face, one she hadn’t seen since the night they met. She wondered if maybe he was a little happy about having this baby, maybe he was looking for family too.

“Great! Let me ring you guys up. That will be ten credits.”

Jyn realized she didn’t actually have any credits on her. She had all of her belongings taken at Wobani and forgot that they took her credits that she had been saving.

“Here you go.” Cassian reached into his pocket and handed her ten credits for the blanket.

“Cassian, you don’t need to buy this. I can figure it out on my own.” She didn’t need his charity.

“Jyn, just let me buy my child a blanket and like I have said you are not on your own, I don’t know how many times I have to tell you, I am all in.”

She didn’t say anything and let him have this. She grabbed the blanket from the counter and stuffed it into a satchel on her back.

-

“You know a thanks would’ve been nice.” He smirked at her. He knew she wasn’t going to thank him but if she was going to continue to push him away, the least he could do is have a little fun with it.

“My apologies, you are right, Thank you for buying our baby a blanket, you know the baby that you put inside me.” Ok, he deserved that sassy remark.

“Oh don’t act like you didn’t enjoy it, If I recall you moaned quite loud and said “don’t stop” (he made is pitch lower to mock her moaning voice) several times.” He wasn’t going to let her win this time.

She was speechless and just kept walking in the crowd. He realized he quite liked teasing her, in more ways than one.

He caught up with her and spoke.

“Do you even know where you are going?”He knew her answer already because he had hadn’t told her.

“No, but only because you haven’t told me anything.” She retorted back.

“We are meeting with an informant at the temple. She claims to be the sister of one of the partisans here on Jedha. I am hoping she might know where Saw is.”

“You hope, we came here to Jedha with a plan based on hope.”

He looked her straight in the eye and spoke.

“Rebellions are built on Hope.” She just stared back at him repeating the last word.

“Hope…Hope…Hooo-pppp-ee” She said sing-songy.

“What are you doing?” She was being really weird, he hadn’t seen this side of her before, She had always been so serious, mad or a once sad.

“I like the name Hope, It’s simple, If it’s a girl I think this name would fit perfectly because she/he has given me hope.” He was shocked by her response, and he liked

“I agree.” And he just stared back her with a smile and to his surprise she smiled back.

A man approached them, and spoke.

“How far along are you?” He asked Jyn. He was’t looking at either of them when he spoke but had a blank stare looking past Jyn. He seemed like he might be blind.

Jyn spoke, “How did you know I was pregnant,” She noticed could tell he was blind too.

“The force can sense new life being created and there was a strong force bond I could feel between you too and your little one. I could tell you the little ones fortune for the kyber crystal you possess.” He just realized he was still wearing her kyber necklace but how could he possibly know this, as it was hidden under his clothes. He should probably give it back to her when they get back to the ship. But for now he was creeped out by him and pulled Jyn away as quickly as he could.

-

He pulled her into the crowd, and she looked back and saw the blind man go stand next to another man, who was built a lot sturdier than the blind man and had a huge blaster looking thing attached to his back, almost like a generator powered blaster. Also how did they know she had Cassian’s kyber crystal in her pocket.

“Who are they?” She asked Cassian.

He then proceeded to explain to her about the guardians of the will and how they protected the kyber temple, until the empire took over and killed most of the guardians but it seemed that some must’ve escaped with their lives and lives in the streets conning people with the force.

“Do you think he really knew I was pregnant because the force told him.”

“No, he is con artist, I am sure his partner told him, I mean you do look pregnant.” She hit him on the arm. “Hey, I don’t look that big.” He chuckled at her response.

All of a sudden, they both heard a boom and everyone started to panic and run in every direction. She knew that sound, it was a grenade that someone threw and in the panic she didn’t see who it came from but people were pushing her and running. She got separated from Cassian and tried to figure her way out of the open crowd. She knew a crowd was the worst place to be when grenades were being launched. She hunched down between two abandoned shopping stands. She looked around for Cassian but only saw the tank approaching the with rows of stormtroopers.

All of a sudden another bomb went off and luckily it was farther away from her and didn’t hit her. She was still scanning the streets for Cassian. She spotted him a little farther ahead but he had his blaster aimed at a man who had a peculiar look to him, His face was white and not completely human looking. She had never seen his type before but she realized he had a bomb and was about to throw it right at her area. The man was hit by a blaster bolt and he fell to his death from the top of the building.

Cassian saved her, well he saved their child and she just happened to be the vessel carrying his child. She looked around and saw the other men who also had bombs and blasters, aiming at the stormtroopers. She started to run towards Cassian, and she saw that another rebel was about to shoot him for shooting down his assumed comrade. She grabbed her blaster, that she stole from Cassian’s bag, and shot down the rebel.

She made her way to Cassian and he grabbed her and pulled her in an alley.

He was screaming at her.

“Are you okay?” but it was still slightly muffled from the ringing in her ears, so he had to repeat himself.

“Jyn, are you okay?” He said again.

She gathered her words and then felt a kick in her abdomen. She and the baby were both okay. “Yes, we are both okay.” She knew he just wanted to know if the baby was okay, so she grabbed his hand and had him feel the kicks.

-

His whole world stopped. He felt completely helpless all of sudden. This was first time Jyn let him feel their baby moving. It wasn’t super noticeable but he felt the jolt coming from her stomach when she put his hand there. He knew he couldn’t stop, he had to protect them both and get them out of Jedha quickly as possible. He grabbed Jyn and ran through a nearby alley to try to get out of the citadel in Jedha City. As they were running, a group a storm troopers approached them. They started shooting them as quickly as they could and dodging the shots from the troopers. They got down to the final few.

He was dealing with one of them hand to hand and then shot the trooper in the head and then quickly turned around to help Jyn. He was about to shoot when he realized she was handling her own. She had three troopers on her but she was fighting them with such speed and grace. He was impressed, if she could do this at six months pregnant, he could only imagine her strength in full force. When she got the final trooper down, he ran towards her and grabbed and ran. He saw an alley they could hopefully escape through.

They sprinted to get to the alleyway when all of a sudden several stormtroopers came up to them, they realized that it was too many to fight and then they looked at each other. He reached for his blaster anyway and thought about trying to fight their way through but he knew they couldn’t discreetly take this many out.

All of sudden he heard Jyn speak up, “Sorry, my husband and I were just trying to get through, as you can see I am very pregnant,” she pointed to her bump, he recognized her plan immediately when she said husband anh hoped her plan would work. The Stormtroopers looked at both of them for a second and then held up their blasters like they were about to shoot them down despite her pleas for them not too.

He jumped out in front of Jyn and heard the first shot go off, he hoped it would be quick and painless and that maybe his shielding would give Jyn enough time to run. He was sad to think that he would never meet his child but he hoped maybe Jyn would atleast tell him about how he wanted to be there for them so much but couldn’t. He was willing to make this sacrifice for them but felt like he failed them. He heard the shot ring in his ears and he realized that it must’ve missed him, he opened his eyes and saw in front of him all the troopers going down. Someone else was shooting at them. He turned around and looked at Jyn, she didn’t have her blaster in her hand either. They both looked behind them and saw the two guardian men from earlier.

The bigger one was shooting and taking so many of them out at once with his weird blaster backpack situation and then he noticed the blind guy come running past them, managing to block all the shots aimed at him with such grace, he used a staff to bounce some off of him and back at the troopers and others he just dodged, was be telling the truth, could he really use the force to sense things. Never mind that right now, he had to fight.

He grabbed his blaster and started to shoot too and Jyn followed. They were all fighting them with such speed and ease like a well oiled machine. When finally the last trooper went down, they were all panting and gasping for air.

He spoke to the men. “Thank you guys for saving us, I wish I could repay you.” As he spoke these words to them, a group of rebel came running in, there were more than they count and were grabbed by them. They put their hand behind their backs.

The blind man shouted “Can’t you see we are not with the empire.”

“We know, but this one over here,” The rebel pointed at him. “….was shooting at us and killed a fellow comrade of ours.”

He didn’t regret it because it saved Jyn and their child’s life.

“He was going to kill her and the baby.” He pointed at Jyn.

Jyn spoke up. “Let my friends go or I will make sure personally that Saw Guerrerra sees you are all punished.” The rebels laughed at her and the leader replied haughtily.

“And why would do that.” As he continued to laugh at her statement.

“Because I am Jyn Erso, daughter of Saw Guerrerra.” He hoped that maybe this would work but he knew they didn’t recognize her so she could be lying to them. His suspicions were correct. They put bags over their head and threw them on a transport speeder.

He hoped they weren’t going to kill them but if they were they probably would’ve done it already so maybe they were going to take them to prison. He thought they may torture them but he couldn’t think that right now. He needed some kind of hope that his little family would be safe. He just felt so helpless in this moment.

Chapter Text

While they were on the transporter, she tried to to listen to her surroundings and see if maybe she could figure a way out of this situation.

She was back-to-back with one of the others. She didn’t quite know who but then all of a sudden she felt the person behind her grab her hand. This caught her by surprise, she wasn’t sure why someone would grab her hand but then she realized, it had to be Cassian.

What was he trying to do by holding her hand. Maybe he thought he was comforting her, or maybe he was trying to comfort himself, regardless she didn’t hate it.

They traveled for a little while. Not completely sure how far way they were being taken or to where. She had hoped that maybe they would actually take her to Saw but she wasn’t sure she was ready to see him after all this time.

-

He heard the transporter come to a sudden halt and they got jostled around in the cargo hold. He tried to listen around to see what was going on and if he could find a way to get free. He wanted to grab Jyn and take her away from here, from all danger and maybe jus have a relaxed life as nerfhearrders or farmers. He knew this was a pipe dream however since they needed to defeat the empire for anyone to feel at ease.

One the rebels grabbed him and yelled. “Get up, scum” and spit at him. He still couldn’t see anything and he was holding Jyn’s hand but suddenly they ripped Jyn away from him. They had them move to an unknown location but he definitely could tell that they were in some type of shelter because he heard the opening of doors and the breeze disappeared from his skin, and he couldn’t feel the subtle warmth form the sun.

They threw him to the ground and took everything off his body besides his clothes and kyber necklace and then unchained him and forced him into a room. When he finally realized that he could take off his blindfold, he noticed he was in a weird underground cell. He looked around for Jyn but she was no where to be found. In the cells next to him however, were the two guardians.

“Where is Jyn?” He yelled at the guards, they didn’t respond to him but continued to peruse through his stuff.

“Tell me now, where is she?” He shouted again. They still ignored him.

After a few more shouts asking for Jyn, he finally gave up asking since they clearly weren’t going to help him. He had to figure a way out soon to find Jyn. He wondered what they could have done with her. They were most likely torturing her for information she didn’t have. He pushed that thought out of his brain because it hurt too much, thinking about her like that.

“I can feel your worries about her. You must really love her.” He heard the blind man speaking.

“I need to get her back, they could hurt her or the baby. She is in no state to be tortured right now.” His response was filled with worry and dread.

“She is carrying your child, I can feel that the force connection is strong between you two, and not just because of the child, no there is something else there. You guys were meant to meet, the force works sometimes in mysterious ways but this is clear as day.” He ignored the blind man’s statement because he needed to figure out a way out of here and didn’t have time for all his crazy talk.

“My name is Chirrut by the way and this is my partner Baze.” Chirrut continued to speak to him even though he wasn’t paying him any attention. He was frantically searching his pockets to see if had anything he could use to release himself.

“Don’t pay him any mind, he is convinced that the force connects everyone, you’re not the first one he has been this delusional about.” Baze tried to talk to him as well.

“The force is with us all. I am one with the force and the force is with me and will get out of here because the force is with us.” He really was delusional to think that force would save us. He still wasn’t sure the force existed. Until today when he saw the way Chirrut moved so effervescently between the blaster bolts but maybe he was just a good warrior. I mean he was a guardian of the whills not to long ago.

“If the force really did care about me and this so called connection between me and Jyn, then why is she not here with us but probably being tortured out there.” He hoped this would keep him quiet.

“If you don’t believe in the force then why do you have a kyber crystal around your neck.” He had forgotten about the kyber crystal again, he really needed to return it back to Jyn.

“It’s not mine, I am holding it for a friend.”

“Regardless of your belief in the force, it still believes in you.” Chrirrut spoke. “What about you, do you believe in the force.” Who was this crazy old man talking to.

“The man in the cell next to you.” he was so busy arguing with Chirrut and trying to come up with a plan that he didn’t even notice him.

He looked over in the other cell and saw a man, dressed in an imperial uniform.

“Hey,” he whispered to other man. “How long have you been in here?”

The man began to speak but he was shaking and mumbling. He had a hard time making out his words.

“I…message..Saw…” what was he even trying to say.

“What was that? Message? Did you say message?”

“Pilot…not lying…I…Pilot.” Did he know about the pilot, maybe he was was the pilot, that defected with the message.

Even though he wanted to find Jyn, he still needed to get the message that Galen sent to Saw.

“Are you the Imperial pilot? Do you remember the message?” He spoke to him calming because he had clearly been through something, they probably tortured him like they were going to do to Jyn.

“I am the pilot.” The man said more clearly this time.

“Yes, you are the pilot, can you tell me the message that Galen sent you here with is?”
He continued to speak calmly.

“I defected, I volunteered to be here.” This man was still traumatized and he wasn’t going to get anything out of him right now.

He continued to search for a way out of this cell when he found a small metal wire connected to his jacket, he twisted it off and started working on his cell door. He was going to get out of here one way or another, luckily the guards were too focused on looking at some twi’lek porn on their holopads.

-

Jyn wasn’t sure where they were taking her but she could tell it was up a lot of stairs and she didn’t hear a lot of footsteps so she assumed, that the others were not with her. She missed having Cassian holding her hand in the transport, even if it was just for a couple minutes. It did comfort her but she could still feel her baby’s kicks and that gave her some peace for now.

She was finally brought to a halt and could hear her captures talking about her.

“We found her and some others fighting with stormtroopers in the citadel and this ones, partner, killed one of our best men. We were going to take them here and torture them for information but then this one said she was your daughter.” The man chuckled.

She heard a voice respond, it was a low and weak voice but she recognized it instantly.

“Take off her blindfold,” The man commanded. They removed the sack over her head. “..It really is you, Jyn.” He smiled at her softly.

She was staring face-to-face with an older and more broken version of then man that raised her, that trained her, that abandoned her.

“I can’t believe you are here. Is this a trick, do my eyes deceive me?” He questioned.

“It’s me, Saw, the one you left for dead.” She said bitterly. He looked hurt by her words.

“I had to leave you, people wanted to use you and I knew that this life shouldn’t have been for you. You were just a girl, you deserved a happy, normal life. It looks like I made the right decision.” He alluded to her noticeable bump. “You’re with child.” His voice perked up when he spoke of her pregnancy.

“I don’t care why you did it, I deserved an explanation and a choice then, not now. And this isn’t what you think.” She was talking about her baby. “I have made choices that have led me on this path completely by mistake, I am not living in a fantasy land where I can have a happy little family, it’s just me and this baby and we have nothing but I will make sure they know love and joy.” She couldn’t help but begin to tear up at the thought of having nothing to give her child.

“Then why have you come, are you looking for credits, I don’t have any to give Jyn, I am broke.” She could tell her was broken in more way then one. The years he spent fighting were starting to show.

“I am not here for your charity Saw. I will figure it out in my own.”

“I understand, so are you hear to trick me, I mean the message from your father, I was already sure my eyes deceived me but then you showed up and I think it’s all a set up. Are you working with the alliance?”

“Not exactly, but I am not here to trick you, the alliance was hoping you might share your message with them and they are using me to get to you.”

“Of course they are, did they threaten you or your little one?”

“They did not, I chose this, they rescued me from a labor prison, if I do this for them, I am free.” She felt her baby kick, she knew she needed to leave soon and this was a reminder that she needed to run away from this lifestyle.

“What about the empire, how can you stand to raise your child in a galaxy, knowing they terrorize us all.” His face wore a look of betrayal.

“I don’t have a choice here, I don’t get the privilege anymore of my own choices. My life now belongs to them (referring to her baby) and I can’t risk my life or theirs anymore. I have to leave Jedha now. Do you have a way I can escape.” Maybe he would help her run, she felt guilty leaving Cassian. But the thought left her mind when she realized she was doing him a favor.

“I will help you, but first I need you to watch this message from your father.” She didn’t want to see him, he basically killed her mother and worked for the empire He abandoned her and left her with Saw, who then also left her. Everything stemmed from him, but she would watch it if it meant she could leave here immediately.

‘Fine, I will watch it.”

“Before we do, I am curious, are you happy at least? Is the father here with you? I just need to know, if I truly made the right decision.“ She didn’t want to tell him because he didn’t have the right to care about her after the choices he made for her but she knew it didn’t matter because she was going to tell him anyway. She still loved him despite everything he did. He treated her as his own and they did have happy memories. Maybe she owed him a little glimpse into her life.

“To be honest, I think so, or atleast I will be when I am able to leave here and choose a quiet life for us.” She signed and then thoifjt about Cassian. He was right, he deserved to be apart of their life if thats what he chose. She was going to make sure he had a choice otherwise she would be would be the one leaving him behind like the others had done to her and that would make her a hypocrite.

“And yes the father is in the picture, I assumed they have him imprisoned somewhere.” She thought about Cassian. He may have been locked up somewhere. Had they tortured him or worse, killed him. She refused to think about this any longer because the thought it that made her sad.

“I assume as much, so he killed one of my men, did he do it to save you?”

“Yes, he did.”

“Then I have to thank the man who saved your life. Do you love him, child?”

She didn’t expect this question from him, he was never sentimental growing up. He never showed interest in her love life before. She wondered though, did she love him? He had gone out of his way to rescue her and she remembered the way his face lit up when he saw that swaddle blanket. Could she truly have a happy ending with Cassian? Maybe they could be a family together, maybe he would leave the rebellion for them. She imagined they’d grow old together on a farm similar to the one her parents had on Lah’mu. There kids would run around and play and they would sit back and just watch in awe of the lives they had created. She wanted to believe she could have this life but was Saw right? Would the empire prevent this from happening.

“I think I could.” She smiled.

Saw looked at her and also smiled, she could tell he was happy with his choices.

“I am glad, watch this message then I will grant you and your partner to leave at once.”

She wasn’t prepared to see him, Galen Erson wasn’t her father anymore but just a man who was too cowardly to act.

Galen’s face appeared as a hologram before her and she watched as he began to speak.

As she listened to his words, she didn’t know how to react. He claimed everything he did was for her and the future, to give the rebellion a chance to beat the empire. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. He worked for twenty years as an imperial scientist just to place a flaw in the weapon and give the galaxy a little hope.

And then he spoke about her, hoping she had found peace, had a family of her own and she wept and grabbed her swollen belly. She felt the subtle movements of her child within her. He sacrificed everything for the fate of the galaxy and for her to have a future.

-

He was working on his door lock when he started to hear a rumble and the rock walls started to chip above him. What was going on he wondered. He had to hurry and get out of here and find Jyn, immediately.

The rumbling was getting louder and guards decided to make a run for it. He tried harder to pick the lock off his cell door and with the added stress of the crumbing walls it made his hands get slippery with sweat, thus making it harder to Dane how. He finally heard the click and the light turned green and popped open the cell door. He ran to grab his stuff and saw the button to unlock the others doors.

He started grabbing his stuff and pulled his com link out and shouted.
“Kay, Please locate and meet us here with the ship as fast as possible please.”

He waited a brief second, nervous that Kay wasn’t there but then her heard the static and Kay’s electronic voice. “Affirmative, on my way, Cassian.”

Chirrut and Baze looked to him, “Where are you going?” Baze asked.

“He’s going to get Jyn.” Chirrut responded for him to his partner.

“Yes, grab the pilot and meet me at my ship outside if you can find your way out. “ He yelled as he took off up the stairs. Everything was crumbling beneath him. The floors were shaking and the roof was crumbling. The other rebels didn’t seem to mind he was out of his cell. Everyone was panicking trying to leave in a rush. He had to find Jyn.

All of a sudden, the crystal around his neck started to warm beneath his chest and he didn’t know how to explain it but he just knew the way to her.

-

The hologram shut off and the room was now dark and dreary, she didn’t know what to say and she just kept thinking about everything she her father said and then she heard the rumbles and the floor quaked beneath her. Something was happening and it wasn’t good, she felt an unusual heat from her pocket, the one containing Cassian’s crystal. She wanted to reach down and grab onto it but her brain was shutting down trying to process all the information she had just heard about her father and the Death Star.

Her whole world was shaken by the realization of the how her father did care for her, after all these years.

Saw tried to shake her out of her transitive state but she couldn’t hear him. She was dissociating from it all, the message, Saw, the crumbling from above and shaking below her feet, Cassian and her baby.

-

He found her with Saw and she looked traumatized, he tried to shake her to get her attention and yelled her name. “Jyn!”… No response.. “We have to go now Jyn.” She didn’t budge.

He looked at Saw, “What did you do to her?” He screamed at him.

“Nothing, I just showed her the message from her father and she shut down, you have to get her out of here. She needs you.

He heard Kay over the com link. “Cassian, I am here and we need to leave now. Are you close?” He looked at Saw.

“Take a right and down the stairs and you will find your way out. Go now.” He grabbed Jyn’s arms and finally pulled her out her transitive state.

“What about Saw?” She screamed.

“My time has come, child. I trust your judgement on what to do. Go now with him, he cares about your safety, I trust him” That was the last words they had heard from him before he was out of earshot.

He and Jyn ran as fast as they could out of the crumbling building. They saw the ship outside and the three men boarding. He ran as fast as he could while holding onto Jyn. When they reached the platform that was hanging down from the ship. He helped Jyn get up by boosting her and Baze grabbed her hand and pulled her the rest of the way. Then he jumped up hanging off the platform while Kay began to fly faster and the ground started to disappear below him. Baze then helped him up as well and he fell to the floor panting and wheezing. He then used all his might to yell at Kay!

“Floor it, Kay!” And they took off through the the rubble and dust that had been crashing down all around them.

He looked for the pilot from earlier and noticed he was in the cockpit helping Kay maneuver his way through the dust tunnel. Rocks were falling left and right and they were doing their best to dodge them.

He jumped up and ran to the cockpit and noticed that it didn’t seem like there was any escape and he looked down at the imperial pilot and heard him scream. “There!” He pointed at a small speck of blue, that was no doubt the sky and there one way out.

The Imperial pilot put full throttle ahead and they barely managed to escape the last of the tumbling rocks around them. Jedha City was gone.

Notes:

I tried to imagine Saw as a grandpa and I’ll I could think about, how he would be similar to a war veteran grandpa, like mine who didn’t speak much but just kinda sat there in the corner starting.

Chapter 5: Eadu more like She do what she wants

Summary:

The gang makes there way to Eadu to extract Galen but the alliance has other plans and Jyn just can’t stay back and watch.

Chapter Text

As they made their way to space, he looked at the pilot with shock, he couldn’t believe that he was helping them after what he witnessed earlier in his cell. The pilot spoke to him and this time without any mumbling. “Hey there, I am Bohdi.” This definitely didn’t feel like the time for introductions but Bohdi did save his life, so he’s allow it.

“Hello, I am Cassian, you’re the imperial pilot who defected right?”

Bohdi stared at him for a moment, he must’ve still been dissociating from his torture, but after a second he snapped out of it and spoke. “Yes, I defected and brought a message from Galen Erso to Saw from Eadu to Jedha.”

So thats where Galen was, he was on Eadu. He knew little of Eadu besides that it rained a lot there and there was an imperial facilities.

Bohdi spoke to Cassian. “Who are you guys?”

“I am part of the rebel alliance, I was sent to find you and Saw, this is Jyn Erso.” He pointed at Jyn, she was behind them in the main area of the ship. Jyn must’ve heard her name and approached the cockpit.

“You must be Galen’s daughter, your father never stopped talking about you to me, He loved you.” He saw a tear fall down Jyn’s face. “I am Bohdi, your father convinced me to defect, he’s a good man. He said I could make a difference.”

“Bohdi, thank you for bringing his message to us.” Jyn responded.

“What did the message say Jyn?” He asked her and everyone had their eyes on her.

“He built a flaw in the weapon, they are calling it the Death Star, it’s a planet killer. He told me there was a way to destroy it. We need to get the plans on Scarif.” He knew Jyn wasn’t lying but why would Galen spend his life’s work for the empire just to create a flaw that would destroy everything he worked on.

“Why would he do that?” He questioned Jyn.

“He knew they would make it without him so he chose to sacrifice his life to make sure the rebellion has a chance of destroying it.” If this was true, he needed to tell the alliance. He needed to communicate with Yavin base and let them know about everything.

“I need to talk to base, Kay get us into hyperspace heading for Eadu.”

-

“Yavin come in, it’s Captain Andor.” He listened for a response and heard static.

Then he heard it. “Captain Andor, its Yavin base, we hear you, over.”

“Call for my commander please, Yavin, over.”

“General Draven here, Captain, how are you doing? Over.”

“General, I am good, just made it off Jedha, about to head to rendezvous point. I have the girl with me. Over.” He didn’t want to mention the pilot or Galen just in case someone else was listening in.

“Yes Captain, glad you hear you are okay. Go ahead and move ahead with the plan. We need that man here on base immediately.”

“Loud and clear General, also I have confirmed our worst fears, Jedha has been destroyed. The weapon is real.” He knew that this would send panic to everyone on Yavin base so he hoped that Draven would only tell the council so they didn’t have everyone overreact quite yet.

“Good luck Andor, hope to see you soon. Over.

The com went dead and now it was just static he heard.

-

She heard everything Cassian said to base and she couldn’t believe she was about to meet her father. She knew they were trying to extract him so he could help the alliance find out about the flaw and therefore they could destroy it.

She decided to sit on the cot on the ship and try to grab a quick nap, she was tired both physically and emotionally. As she closed her eyes she could hear Cassian yell out. “Everyone hang on, we are making the jump to hyper space.” She closed her eyes again as she felt the ship vibrate beneath her and the hum of engine lulled her to sleep.

-

Jyn heard a voice talking to her, “Jyn, wake up sweetie.” her eyes popped open and she was in her bedroom on Lah’mu and her mom was hovering over and trying to wake her up.

“Mama?” she questioned if the sight before her was real. She reached out to touch the crystal around her mother’s neck, except it wasn’t the one she was familiar with. It was the one she found in Cassian’s bag.

“Good Morning my sweet child. How did you sleep.” She caressed her hair and out some strands behind her ears, a tear slipped down her cheek.

“Mama, what are you doing here and why are you wearing Cassian’s crystal.” She was in awe of seeing her mother again.

“Trust in the force, Jyn. The force will keep you safe.” Her mom put the crystal around her neck and kissed her forehead and then she vanished and Jyn was alone and everything faded to dark.

-

She felt warmth of the crystal coming from her pocket again and then felt a new type of warmth on her forehead. It felt like lips pressed to her head.
She felt the tears on her cheeks, and then she opened her eyes and saw Cassian standing above her removing his lips from her forehead. She wasn’t mad at this gesture like she normally would be. Maybe, he did care for her and maybe she could reciprocate that same feeling for him someday.

“Jyn, we are almost to Eadu. I didn’t want you to fall again, like on Jedha.” He chuckled.

She was still a little hazy and groggy from her short nap.

“I am glad you rested, you needed to rest. Just so you know there is a huge storm on Eadu and it’s about to get bumpy. Can you come sit buckled in a seat in the cockpit please?” He wanted to make sure she was safe and he kissed her forehead again or was this still a dream, she wondered . The hot sensation from the kyber in her packet radiating was so hot like it felt like it burning her skin. She didn’t have time to question it. She followed Cassian to the cockpit and he buckled her in and then he relieved Bohdi of flying and got into the seat to take over.

-

He took the controls and jumped out of hyperspace, they were on Eadu and the storm was raging. He was above the mountains but Bohdi screamed out.

“You need to stay low, they can’t see you coming if you hang low and stay below the mountains.” Bohdi yelled.

“Are you crazy, I can’t see anything above, it’s gonna be even worse below.” He screamed.

“Trust in the force.” he heard a voice that was most likely Chirrut behind him. But he knew right now the force couldn’t help him in this storm.

“Cassian, there is a 55% of failure if you drop lower. “ Kay stated.

“You need to drop now. “ Bohdi yelled and Cassian actually decided that he was right.

He swooped low and swerved around the rocks as best as he could in this rain.

“65% now!” Kay yelled. “Kay, not now!” He was trying his best to focus but he sideswiped the side of mountain and then he was losing altitude fast.

“85%!” Kay was serious this time.

Casssian dropped the landing gear and yelled. “Hang on everyone!” And he skirted to a stop as he crashed into the ground. Luckily the wind and rain helped slow down his speed and he was able to make a crash landing without exploding.

“Everyone all right? Jyn?” He looked back at Jyn and she had her eyes squeezed together tight. He grabbed her hand and she opened her eyes and looked into his confirming that they weren’t dead. The lights flickered then shut off along with the engine, They had lost all power.

“What happened?” Chirrut called out.

“The force didn’t tell you?” Baze teased Chirrut.

“That’s not how the force works.” Chirrut sounded annoyed with partners japing.

“So what do we do now?” Jyn asked.

“Bohdi, are we far from the facility?” He asked him.

“I am not sure we didn’t exactly fly incognito through the mountains but I think it’s straight ahead, maybe a few thousand feet over that ledge.” Bohdi’s answer was disappointing but he needed some hope.

“Thanks Bohdi, Kay are you able to get connected to the coms?”

“No, Cassian, all systems are down.”

“Can you get them back up?”

“It will take me awhile but I think I can get it working,” He nodded at Kay.

He got up and went to grab his blaster and then looked at Bohdi, “Come with me, we will need to check out the ship, I have a feeling it’s not repairable but I still want to see what’s going on.” Bohdi got up to follow him.

“What about the rest of us?” Jyn spoke up. He couldn’t risk Jyn out in this storm, He believed that the storm would keep them covered but he didn’t want her to be exposed in the open. He felt safer knowing she was on the ship.

“Can you stay on the ship, while we investigate then we can assess our next steps in the plan.”

He walked in the storm with Bohdi and assessed the damage to the ship, It was not repairable, as he assumed.

“We’re gonna need a new ship if we are going to find our way out of here.” He told Bohdi.

“Maybe we can sneak onto the facility and steal a ship. I know the way and we may be able to sneak on if there is a distraction.” That was good thinking but what could they do to cause a distraction, he wondered.

“Ok, let’s get back inside and discuss a plan with the others.”

They headed back inside and they were both already sopping wet and freezing from the five minutes they spent out in the storm.

He spoke to everyone. “Well the engine is shot, landing gear is destroyed and one wing is cracked in half. There is no way to repair this ship.”

“What are we gonna do?” Jyn questioned.

“Bohdi, thinks we could steal a ship to escape in after the extraction but we will need a distraction and pray this storm keeps up and keeps us hidden out here for now.”

“Without coms, we can’t contact your base to get a rescue team and even if we did contact, would they even come to rescue us.” Jyn asked.

“They might but we would have to have working coms and stay hidden until they got here plus try to be discreet in extracting your father.” He retorted.

“Yeah that would be tricky. I think Bodhi’s idea is our best bet, Do you feel confident knowing your way around the facility?” They all looked at Bohdi.

“The current plan has a 35% success rate.” Kay commented.

“Not now Kay, get back to working on the coms please.”

“Alright, but excuse me for being the only practical one here.”

“So Bohdi? The facility?”

“I was stationed here a lot. I know the facility quite well and think I can remember clearance codes, however I am positive they have changed them since I defected but we may be able to coerce someone into helping.”

“I mean it’s the only plan we have right now other wise we are sitting ducks waiting to get captured or killed.” He told the group. “Okay, so before we do any extracting, we need to scope the area, Bodhi and I will go take a look then come back and come up with a route to take.” He was hoping they would all agree to stay and wait here. He didn’t want to risk Jyn out in the open yet. And the others would merely get in his way.

“I should come with you.” Jyn spoke up, he knew she wouldn’t want to listen to his authority.

“Jyn, you should stay here, you are the only one who actually saw the message and theres no need to risk your life right now in your condition.”

“That’s Bantha-Shit and you know it, I held my own on Jedha and I told you all about the message so it shouldn’t matter.” She made valid points and he knew that but for once he just wanted her to listen to him. It was for her safety, why couldn’t she see that.

“Jyn!” He was stern, “Just once will you listen to me, I am trying to keep you safe.” He snapped but he was in protective father mode. He saw her face when she yelled, she was disappointed in him. Then he looked around and they were all staring.

“I am sorry for losing my cool but just let me figure this out first and then I will come back for you, I promise.” That was last word he spoke on the matter, he grabbed his blaster and nodded at Bodhi and they left.

-

The trek was short until they were able to see the facility, They found a rock to crouch behind and looked in the viewfinder to see a platform.

He saw a group of men in white lab coats lined up and a firing squad also lined up adjacent to them. What was going on here? He handed Bohdi the viewfinder to take a look. “Do you recognize any of them?” He asked while Bohdi looked.

“Yes, that man behind the firing squad is Director Orson Krennnic and standing next to him is Galen and the men lined up is his team.”

“Does this look suspicious, are they vacating the facility?”

“It doesn’t appear that way but it is odd I have never seen the scientists up on the landing platform before.” Bodhi responded and handed him back his viewfinder.

“I mean why would they have them out there unless they were leaving, but they don’t seem to be in a rush.” All of sudden in the viewfinder he saw the Galen run out in front of the line of scientists with his hands in the air, he appeared to be yelling.

Then the firing squad killed the lot of them except Galen, and he was just standing there.

-

She couldn’t sit back and do nothing, knowing her father sacrificed everything for the galaxy. She grabbed a blaster and started to head out.

“Where are you going?” Chirrut asked her.

“I’m not going to sit back and do nothing, I am going to join them.”

“Cassian said to stay on the ship.” Kay stated.

“He isn’t in charge of me.” She retorted.

“Ok, but if Cassian, comes back, we will leave without you.” Kay remarked.

Jyn left the ship and grabbed a poncho and made sure her blaster was off stun mode.
It was hard to see in the storm but she continued to walk forward with the wind and rain hitting her face. She could feel the flips in her stomach from her baby and knew she would keep them both safe.

She didn’t see Cassian or Bohdi but she saw the facility, it was a quite a climb up but she decided to make the climb for herself. She climbed up trying to get to the top, the climb was rough with the wind and rain pelting her back and side of her face.

She finally got to the top and saw a trooper, she grabbed their legs and threw him down to his doom at the bottom of the canyon.

She hid behind a crate and saw her father, she was having Deja Vu, seeing the man in white from when she was a child, standing there with his troopers aiming their blasters at him.

_

He was looking through the viewfinder at the situation that had unfolded in front of him. It looked like they were about to kill Galen. He was going to have to tell Jyn, her father was murdered because there was no way he could stop it.

As he watched Galen stand there and listen to Krennic talk, he heard Kay come over the comm link.

“Cassian, come through” Kay’s electronic voice was a little distorted.

“Yes, I am here Kay. Let rebel base know we are okay and looking for a way to escape.”

While he was speaking to Kay he noticed in his viewfinder a person sneaking onto the platform, hiding behind different cargo shipments and various items. He looked closer and it wasn’t just anyone. It was Jyn, of course she didn’t listen and now she was putting herself in danger with Krennic and firing squad. He got out his rifle and was about to aim to hit Krennic and then try to get each trooper if he could but before he could make the shot, he heard Kay come over the comm.

“Cassian, that is why I am reaching out to you. I contacted rebel base and since they couldn’t reach you they assumed they killed you or worse imprisoned you for information about base, so they sent the bomb squadron to come and bomb the facility.” He knew he didn’t have enough the time to stop it if they were already on the way but he had to try.

“Kay, Jyn is on that platform. Tell them to cancel the attack.” He held on to the hope that he could get them to stop but he knew the truth. So he started running and climbing up the platform as quickly as possible to get her down.

“Cassian, they said negative on cancelling the attack. Their eta is three minutes until they will be in orbit.” It was too late, they were gonna bomb them, he had to move faster.

As he climbed the wall he looked up and saw the X-wings in the sky and then he saw the bomber transport. He saw them drop them right on the base.

He was lucky and it wasn’t on the side he was climbing. He didn’t know how to explain it but he could feel that she wasn’t gone. The kyber around his neck began to warm his chest as he climbed, his adrenaline was pumping and he climbed faster and faster until he got to the top. He saw Krennic evacuating and dead troopers all around. He scanned the fiery platform and saw Jyn, standing over Galen Erso’s body. He had been hit.

-

It all happened so fast, she looked up and then saw the bombs drop right in front of her and then she saw him, her papa. She was still dizzy from the boom and her ears were ringing but he was there lying on the platform, not completely gone.

She ran to him.

“Papa!” She cried out. She stood over his body. He opened his eyes and looked at her.

“It’s me, Papa!” She looked into his eyes and he stared back in awe.

“Stardust?” he spoke weakly.

“I got your message, Papa.” She was weeping, because she knew he was dying.

“Stardust, I am glad you got it, you need to destroy it.” He whimpered as he spoke this last sentence.

“I will Papa, I love you! I know what you did for me and the galaxy. The sacrifice you made.” He grabbed her hand.

“For you Stardust and for them.” He looked at her abdomen. She put his hand to her stomach and the baby started to flutter within her.

“I love you both Stardust.” Cassian ran up to her and screamed, “Jyn, we have to go now.” She looked down at him and he took his last breath. She was sobbing and reaching for him.

“No Papa, I can’t leave him, Cassian.” Cassian pulled off of him and looked her in the eye. “Jyn, he is gone and we have to get off this platform. Don’t you want to keep our baby safe.” All of sudden she came back and realized he was right. They had to leave now.

There were several X-wings and TIE fighters flying above them shooting at each other and troopers trying to get them. Cassian was shooting every trooper in his path and then an imperial ship landed right in front of them. He looked ready to shoot them all when they came out and Jyn was ready to help.

The door opened and they saw Baze and Chirrut, reaching for them to help them on the ship. She looked and saw Kay and Bohdi in the cockpit.

Bohdi yelled out “Everybody hold on!” Then they zoomed off into the sky. They were in space and then jumped to hyperspace, heading to Yavin VI.

Jyn looked at Cassian and he reached out and grabbed her hand.

Chapter Text

They were both panting heavily, Jyn was staring at him in disbelief. He knew she just witnessed her father perish right in front of her eyes. He knew that feeling all too well and he empathized with her pain.

“Jyn, I am sorry about your-“ She cut him off from finishing his sentence.

“Don’t” Jyn said sternly and ripped her hand from his. He knew there were no good words to say to her right now. He knew it wasn’t his fault for Galen’s death but he couldn’t help but felt a smidge responsibility since it was the alliance bombs that killed him.

Jyn moved her gaze from him and sat up and just pulled her legs to her chest and put her head into her knees. He looked around the ship and saw Baze and Chirrut were staring at them both. He gestured at the guardians to leave the cargo hold and both of them understood when they saw she needed space. They both nodded in agreement and moved towards the front of the transport, out of the cargo hold.

He reached out for Jyn and held her. He felt the heat on his chest begin to warm him, at this point he was able to ignore the kyber and only put his focus on Jyn.

He held onto her and she began to weep. He didn’t say anything and just let her get everything out. Jyn stopped for a brief moment and picked up her head and extended her legs to help turn her around into his chest. They sat there in silence for a few minutes and then he heard Kay yell out to him

“Cassian, we are fifteen minutes from base.”

“Kay, alert the base that we are coming in on an imperial ship so they don’t shoot at us and let them know we have passengers that are not hostile.” He shouted back to Kay and Jyn finally removed herself and spoke.

“You should get back up there and talk to base and let them knows whats going on yourself.” She tried to push him away but right now he knew he needed to be there for her.

“Kay can handle it.” He reached out and pulled her in again. “I know nothing I say will bring him back but right now you have to keep going for them, (referring to their child) that’s what your father would want.”

“And how would you know what my father wanted.” She pushed back from him and snapped. “Was this the plan the whole time. Was this never an extraction, did the alliance just want to location of my father so they could kill him with their bombs.“

“No, that was not the plan, atleast not one that I was aware of.” He said defensively.

“Oh come on, the alliance hated my father, he created a planet killer. Of course they wanted him dead, Heck I wanted him dead for so long. I even convinced myself he was dead because it was easier than knowing the alternative.” She was filled emotion when she spoke of him.

“Jyn, you are in shock, I wasn’t in on any plan to assassinate your father. The plan for me was to extract him out and bring him to base. I truly believe thats what the council wanted. I don’t know why they sent that bomb squadron or who ordered it but something seems suspicious. I will figure it out when we get back.” He noticed that her facial expression changed and there was a tone shift when she spoke again.

“It doesn’t matter anymore, all that matters now is that we get this message to the rebel base, so the can get the plans to destroy the Death Star. We need to talk to the council right away and make them aware of everything.” She was calm again and focused on this new task. He could tell she wasn’t over Galen’s death but he assumed this is how she coped. He wondered what she had been through that would cause her to completely free herself from the overall emotions from losing her both her father and her adoptive father in one day. She was strong for sure but he was worried about her mental state after these tough few days. He decided for now the best thing to do would be to go along with where she was at mentally and physically.

“I concur, they will want a debriefing as soon as we get there so be prepared to tell them about your father, tell them all the good things about him and what he did for the galaxy and how we can stop the empire because of him. You can be the one to give them hope.”

He joined Kay and Bohdi in the cockpit and Jyn joined Baze and Chirrut until landing.

-

“Preparing for landing, everyone hang on.” Bohdi shouted.

She was having a hard time keeping her emotions in check, she had never been so vulnerable with anyone like this before in her adult life. Saw taught her that being vulnerable was a weakness but watching her father die right in front of her was the final straw. That is what broke her walls and let the water flow out and flood her mind. She finally had accepted him after hearing about what he did and she was going to have him back in her life after all these years and then he left her again, but this time it wasn’t his choice. The alliance killed her father and all she wanted to do was punish them for their actions but she knew she needed them if they were gonna get a shot at destroying this thing.

She felt the shift of the coming out of hyperspace into Yavin IV’s atmosphere. She remained balanced and focused ready to let the alliance know everything.

-

They were in the hangar and disembarking the craft. He hoped the alliance would move quick and understand the importance.

He exited the ship first with the others behind him and he saw General Draven waiting outside to greet him.

“Andor, glad to see you made it out of Eadu. Great work.” Draven paused for a second and stared at the group of people behind him. “Who do we have here?”

“Yeah this is Baze and Chirrut, they saved our lives on Jedha, and this is Bohdi, the imperial pilot who delivered the message from Galen.” He gestured to the the pilot.

“Perfect you found the pilot, but where’s Galen?” Draven looked around for him and then met his eyes when he didn’t see Galen among the group.

Jyn spoke up quickly, “Like you don’t know, the alliance killed him with your bomb strike.” Jyn shouted at Draven. Draven did not look pleased at Jyn shouting at him.

“Well it doesn’t matter anyway. We have the pilot who can give us the message.” Draven was surprisingly calm in his response to Jyn. He however knew that Jyn was not going to be happy by this comment.

“He was a person, he was my father. How can you say his life didn’t matter?” Jyn was furious and he knew this wasn’t going to end well. The others behind him kept quiet and just watched this showdown between the two.

“Your father was an imperial scientist who collaborated with the empire to make a weapon that would destroy the galaxy, so no I don’t feel bad that he was collateral damage from our attack.” Draven was smug when he spoke and this only infuriated Jyn even more. He looked at Jyn, and she had fury in her eyes.

“Yes but he-“ Jyn started to shout back but Draven interrupted her speech.

“Exactly and the apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree. You are a criminal just like him and probably working with the empire yourself.” Jyn looked like she was about to lunge at Draven but he decided to grab her arm to hold her back and responded to Draven’s wild accusations on her behalf.

“General Draven, Jyn Erso is a good person, I am sure she did the things in her past to survive. I can assure you she is not with the empire, I spent these last couple days with her and I think she will be an asset to the alliance.” He tried to keep his calm but hearing him talk about Jyn like that made his blood boil.

“Andor, how can you defend her, she is clearly a troubled young lady. She couldn’t even keep it in her pants and ended up pregnant with what I am sure is some imperialist just like herself and I am sure the child will be as well. It’s in their DNA.”
He could no longer hold his anger in anymore. Not after he verbally assaulted Jyn, their child to him.

“Jyn is not a criminal and our child will never be involved with the empire, General. You will not speak to her or our child like this again or you will have me to deal with.” He shouted at Draven and everyone on the hangar had been watching and listening to their screaming match at this point, hearing to his declaration of his paternity to Jyn’s growing bump.

Draven looked at him in disbelief. “Andor, you are my best Captain. I don’t understand why you would associate yourself with such scum.” Cassian let go of Jyn at this point. He didn’t care about the repercussions. He wanted to hurt Draven for his foul and false accusations, but before he could, Baze held him back and he heard someone begin to speak. It was General Mothma.

“Enough!” Mothma yelled at the two men. “We cannot be an alliance if we are fighting amongst ourselves. Captain, it’s good to see the two of you are back and safe. Thanks for your service.” Mothma smiled and nodded at him and Jyn.

“General Draven, I cannot believe you authorized a bomb attack on an imperial facility without a discussion from the council. And your decorum here today in the hangar towards Captain Andor and Jyn and her child are disappointing to say the least and I thought higher of you.” Mothma’s politician side was coming out when she spoke and Draven’s face showed his displeasure of the scolding he was receiving.

Draven did not say another word but Mothma was not finished yet.

“General, let us have a discussion in my office while we wait for the rest of the council and alliance members to arrive on base.” She looked toward him and spoke.
“Captain Andor, we are working on a debriefing of your mission with the whole alliance at 1400 hours and we expect Jyn and the pilot there to talk about everything we have learned and what our next moves might be. As for the rest of you, I welcome you to Yavin IV and I invite you to please feel free to join us as well. We can use all the help we can get here in the alliance.” And with that, both Generals left the hangar.

They had several hours left until the briefing. He turned to Jyn and saw that she was looking overwhelmed by all the chaos that just ensued.

“Jyn, come on we have some time let’s get you to the med bay, get you food and water and maybe some rest.” He reached for her and gestured for them to leave. He wasn’t even worried about his other passengers right now. Just that Jyn and their child were okay.

“Cassian, I am fine. I don’t need anything.” Jyn tried to push off his fussing over her.

“It wasn’t a suggestion.” He grabbed her and they left the hangar.

-

She wasn’t used to being fussed over but Cassian insisted on her wellbeing. She struggled with the idea of relying on anyone and Cassian was no exception. She didn’t really know what the future looked like for them but she was starting to actually think they could find happiness with each other.

As they approached the med bay, she recieved so many stares from other alliance members and it made her uncomfortable. She tried to ignore that but they were persistent. Cassian paid them no mind and kept going forward. They made it to the med bay and Cassian was arguing with a med droid about assisting Jyn. She was staring at him as he argued at the poor droid and noticed how attractive he was. She recalled their night on Takodana and remembered how alluring he was when he was pinning her against the wall. He was fierce and passionate and she couldn’t help but watch him right now. He had just cared so much about her and she remembered how he made sure that she felt good that night. She couldn’t help but think about the way he had his tongue on her clitoris and the way he thrusted into her as she was bent over that chest.

“Jyn, Yavin IV to Jyn, Are you in there?” She was daydreaming about Cassian and he was trying to get her attention. Her face was flushed at the thought of thinking about him.

“Yes..sorry I was just zoning out. I am just tired.” She tried to clear her mind from him but it was hard when he was standing right in front of her. Hi his still glistening from the rain on Eadu and his clothes were drenched and clung to his body showing off even muscle on his body and she imagined him pushing her up against the med bay wall.

“The med droid is gonna do an external scan and a bloodwork panel, can you sit down on the cot?” She had to bury those thoughts about him right now so she jumped up on the cot and didn’t argue with him. She decided to accept letting him fuss over her.

The med droid first pricked her finger and ran some tests.

“All your bloodwork looks normal for a female human of your age, weight and height, there is a high amount of progesterone and Human chorionic gonadotropin, which is an indication a possible pregnancy.” The med droid spoke.

“Well that would make sense she is pregnant. It should be in her medical file.” Cassian seemed annoyed with the droid.

“Yes sir, let us take your scan now. Lay down.” The droid instructed. She hadn’t seen the baby since her first scan so she was anxious about what she was gong to see.

The droid began the scan and when he got to her abdomen he showed them both a hologram of what looked to be a real human baby. She noticed Cassian was staring at the scan in awe and she even noticed he shed a tear. This was first time she saw him show any emotion besides anger. She enjoyed seeing his vulnerability since he had seen hers so much in the last few days.

“The fetus appears to be in a healthy condition for twenty-six weeks and one day gestation. There is a heartbeat and looks like all the normal organs for a human fetus.” The droid told the pair.

“Wow, I can’t believe that is our baby inside you. It’s so big.” Cassian had such a big smile on his face while speaking. He also grabbed her hand while looking at the hologram.

“Okay, I have examined the fetus and see it has ten fingers and toes as well as hair and female reproductive parts.” The droid said nonchalantly.

“We are having a girl?” Cassian squealed and gripped her hand even harder than before.

“It appears so.” The droid responded in a monotone response.

Cassian looked at her and she was staring at the hologram in disbelief. They were having a girl. She didn’t think she cared about the gender but she now imagined having a miniature her that she could watch her play with toys and teach her how to be a normal kid and take away from this war.

“What do you think Jyn, does she look like a Hope?” Cassian beamed at her.

She looked back at Cassian with a huge grin.

“She is our little Hope.” She squeezed his hand back.

Notes:

I really wanted a girl when I was pregnant so I’m vicariously living through rebelcaptain lol but trust me I love my son ❤️

Chapter Text

After he took Jyn to the med bay and they saw their little girl, he was over the moon. He had completely forgot about all the bad stuff that had happened over the few days and what Draven had said to them. None of that had mattered right now because he was going to be the father a little girl. She gave him hope for a brighter future.

He took Jyn to grab some ration packs and then he decided to take her to his quarters. He was a Captain so he got assigned his own quarters, so he could conduct all of his intelligent duties. It was small and only had one small bed and desk. There was a connected refresher as well. It didn’t matter how small it was because he was on undercover missions a lot and didn’t spend a terrible amount of time here.

“Here we are. It’s not much but there is a bed for you to rest in.“ He nodded to the bed, gesturing her to use it.

“Is it ok, if I use the ‘fresher, first. I realized I haven’t felt clean since before I was taken into custody at Wobani.”

“Of course, you can. I’ll just hang out here and work on my debrief report.” He then sat down at the desk and started typing on his holopad. He was about two sentences in when he noticed Jyn was stripping down right in front of him. He tried hard not stare but her body was amazing. Her body had been etched in his brain since Takodana but this time it was different. She had fuller breasts and she had larger hips than before. He even enjoyed looking at her rounded stomach and found that beautiful as well. She let down her hair and started to head into the ‘fresher.

He watched as she walked in the room and then closed the door. He wished at that moment he could see through walls because he could only imagine what she looked like with the water glistening on her body. How was he supposed to work on his report when she was in his ‘fresher completely naked.

He heard the door open and she stepped out, still fully naked. She clearly did not care if her saw her body because she stood before him and he could help but stare this time.

-

“You know my eyes are up here right?” She spoke to him when she noticed he was staring at her body. If she was being honest she knew she looked good and was wanting Cassian to see her. She secretly hoped that he would take her right there like on Takodana. She couldn’t help it, she had been so horny since becoming pregnant and all her hormones and adrenaline were at an all time high.

He looked flustered when she spoke and then covered his eyes. “Jyn, I am sorry I didn’t mean to look but you’re just so beautiful and you took your clothes off on front of me and like your tits are amazing“ She chuckled at his rambling, she also noticed how his pants were getting tighter in his groin area and this only made her want him more.

“Oh calm down, it’s not like you haven’t seen me like this before. And thanks for your compliments.” She smiled and stared at him. “I was actually wondering if you could help me with the sonic shower, I haven’t used one like this before and I need some help turning it on.” She really did need help but his reaction to her, made it hard not to want him.

“Uhhh…yeah I can help.” Cassian stood up with his eyes still covered as he struggled trying to guide his way to the fresher.

“Cassian, just open you eyes.” She barked.

“It’s ok, I can manage.” He bumped his head right after he spoke but he did manage to find his way to the fresher.

“Ok, I am going to open eyes now because I can’t turn this on blind.” He stammered awkwardly. She decided to get back in the sonic and wait for him to open his eyes and see her standing there in front of him. She was going to have to make the first move because he was being too polite.

“Cassian?” He turned on the water.

-

He managed to turn on the water and when he looked up he saw her standing there and the water was glistening against her body. He couldn’t help but look at her. He felt the tightness in his pants and knew that he was going to have to relieve himself after witnessing this.

“Yes, Jyn?” He was trying to leave as quickly as possible but also he wanted to linger longer.

“Would you care to join me? You have quite a bit of dirt that could use washing off. “
He was speechless. Was she just trying to be mindful of their water consumption, or maybe concerned about his hygiene. No, he saw the look of lust in her eyes. He saw that same look etched on her face on Takodana. But also maybe he was reading the situation wrong, he couldn’t get in there naked. Then she would see he was a pervert due to his hard cock in his pants that would betray him.

“Uhhh…are you sure you want me to join in there, like without clothes and everything.”
He tried hard to remain calm and collected like he had on many other undercover missions but this was different.

“Yes I do and typically people don’t wash themselves with their clothes while they use the sonic.” She chuckled at his awkwardness, she has found it charming to say the least.

“OK, Let me go put my clothes in the other room.” He thought that maybe if he took his clothes off in the other room he could somehow manage to get rid of his erection in the other room with the cool air.

He ran in the main room and took everything off including the kyber Crystal, he stuck it in his pocket. He was trying to think of anything that would rid him of his hard cock but nothing was working. He didn’t want to keep her waiting either. He just had to walk in with confidence and hoped she wouldn’t make fun of him.

-

“Cassian, what is taking so long.” She screamed from the fresher. He was taking so long. Maybe he didn’t want her but she saw his cock and how he struggled to hide his erection from her so she didn’t understand. Maybe he was trying to be a gentleman but she had no patience for that right now. She needed him now.

Cassian opened the door and he was standing there, cock out and chest up staring at her. She blushed a little and then he got in with her. It was a very small sonic shower. It was not meant for two people, but they both crammed in the little shower. Their bodies were touching and they just continued to stare at each other. She couldn’t wait any longer. She grabbed his face and pressed her lips against his. It was messy and rushed but he seemed to reciprocate the actions and kissed her with the same passion. His lips were as soft as she remembered. The only difference now is they weren’t patient like before. Sloppy kisses lead to his lips on her neck and his hands on her ass. The water was hitting both of them and the warmth of water felt so good against her body.

-

He moved his lips from her neck down her chest and then started to lick at her nipples. He luckily started out slowly, allowing her time to adjust to his tongue. She started moaning “Cassian” in his ear, this only caused him to get harder against her thigh. He started to suck on her left nipple and massage the other with his hand.

He felt her hand start to stroke his cock and he felt like he was gonna burst if she didn’t stop. He removed her hand and reached down to rub her clitoris. He noticed she was soaking wet and not from the sonic shower. He slowly moved his fingers on her clit and she was starting to tense up. He could feel the warm water run down his back and then he inserted a finger inside her, while he kept his thumb on her clit. She continued moaning as his fingers slid in and out of her. He felt her vagina begin to tightened around his finger and he kept up his pace on both her clit and inside her.

She then arched her back and screamed out in pleasure and he removed his fingers knowing that she had came around them. He then reached up and kissed her again as she was riding out her pleasure.

“Cassian.” She said hoarsely.

“Yes, Jyn?” He loved watching her fall apart.

“I want to make you feel good like you have done for me.” She reached for his cock and he grabbed her arm and pinned it against the sonic shower wall. He knew he wanted to be inside her and wouldn’t last long if she tried to jerk him off before he had the chance to feel himself inside her.

“Allow me.” He spun her around and let her hold onto the side of fresher and then penetrated her from behind. His pace started out slow to make sure she was ready. He then picked up the pace and there moans were synchronous. He was yelling out her name name, as he was getting close to his climax. He picked up pace and he felt her tightened around his cock. He knew he wasn’t going to be able to hold out much longer. He felt her start to twitch and arch her back like before. He heard her say ‘Cassian, I am almost there, keep going…ahh.” Her moans were getting louder and more desperate. He kept thrusting into her until he felt her climax around him and that was it for him, he rode out his orgasm while his cock twitched insider her and he held it there for a few seconds while she came down from her euphoric state. He also felt he needed needed a second to relax since all his muscles had tensed when he came.

He pulled out of her and then pulled her up. He kissed her softer and held onto her while they let the water run down their bodies.

This was exactly what Jyn had been craving. She didn’t care how messy this would make their lives, she wasn’t thinking about consequences she was just thinking about how good he made her felt.

Cassian grabbed some shampoo and started to wash her hair, he scrubbed her scalp and also made sure to scrub his as well. Then he moved under the water and let the water rinse out her hair. He then grabbed soap and helped wash her body.

She was already struggling to reach below her belly so this gesture was wonderful. Cassian scrubbed her clean and them himself. She noticed that Cassian always put her first, whether it was washing her in the shower or letting her orgasm first. They both finished cleaning off their dirt and sweat and just enjoyed each others presence.

She got out of the sonic shower and he stepped out with her. He wrapped his towel around her. She grabbed her clothes and stepped into the main room. She was about to put her clothes back on when Cassian it erupted her and handed her some clean clothes of his. He wasn’t a large man so they actually fit her pretty well with the bump.

“Thanks for the clothes.” She smiled at him.

“Of course, I can’t have you running around the base naked or smelling like bantha shit in those dirty old clothes.” He also put on some new clothes and then grabbed his dirty one to put in his clothes bin.

She noticed a weird look on his face when he was putting his clothes away.

“Jyn, I have been meaning to give this to you but we have been so busy that it slipped my mind, and if I am being honest, I feel like I have a weird connection to it. It makes me feel calm and I don’t know how to describe it but I feel comfort when you are safe while wearing it.” he pulled her mom’s Kyber Crystal out of his pocket.

“I can’t believe you had it this whole time. I thought it was lost forever. My mom gave it to me right before she died.” She reached out for it and started crying. “Cassian, I need to be honest with you.” She reached into the pocket of her dirty jacket and held out the crystal she found in his bag that first day. “I am sorry I took this, I was going to ask you about it and I was actually hoping that we could give it to Hope someday but then everything happened so quick. But I have felt the same way. I’ve always had a warm feeling while it was in my pocket and felt a comfort and safety for you as well.”

Cassian grabbed the necklace and put it around Jyn’s neck. “Keep it and give it to Hope one day.” She immediately felt a warm sensation over her body when he placed it around her neck and in her head she heard her mom’s words. “Trust in the force.”

She grabbed her moms necklace from her hand, as much as she wanted to keep. She felt like her mother was telling her to give it to Cassian, like how she gave it to her.

-

“Cassian, I want you to have this. It clearly calls to you and I don’t know how to explain it but my mother is telling me to give it to you. Trust in the force.” He grabbed it from her and put it back around his neck. He felt that familiar warmth when it touched his chest and he looked at Jyn and pulled her in for a hug, the warmth didn’t go away.

He held her close and kissed her forehead and they just stood there for a minute holding each other, Feeling the warmth inside and out.

He heard Jyn yawn and pulled her away from his grasp. “You know we still have a few hours before the rest of the alliance arrives for the debriefing, why don’t you get some sleep now.” She didn’t argue with him like usual and actually got into his bunk and curled up with the blanket.

He was about to sit down at his desk and do some writing on his report when she opened up the cover and and gestured for him to get in with her.

“I’d be able to rest better knowing that you’re gonna get some rest too.” She japed.

He grabbed his holopad and made sure to set an alarm for 1300 hours so they have plenty of time before the debriefing.

He slowly made his way to the bunk and got in with her. He slid under the cover and laid down. To his surprise she snuggled up to him and laid her head on his chest. He felt that inner warmth again and held onto her. She fell asleep on him almost instantly and he just listened to her breaths and then fell asleep as well.
