Maddie Fenton sighed as she opened the front door to the family's townhouse. She didn't hear any telltale signs of her family. She called out, but no one responded. She started to look for a clue to her family's whereabouts. She ultimately came across a poorly written note from her husband, Jack. On top of being an oversize manchild, Jack Fenton had illegible penmanship and notorious spelling and grammar.
It took Maddie a long time to decipher what her husband was trying to say. The gist was he'd gone to the grocery store. The note also mentioned that Jazz was at the library, and Danny went to the Nasty Burger with his friends. "Well, I guess I'll have to wait for a few hours before showing off the new outfits that Kathleen helped me purchase," as she made her way to her bedroom.
She threw the shopping bags onto the bed before opening the nightstand drawer. After removing a small notebook and purple pen, she pushed aside the bags. Then leaning back, she began to transcribe her thoughts about what had occurred earlier in the day, "Well, I don't usually enjoy having coffee with someone. However, my cousin Kathleen is the exception. Truthfully, she's more of a sister then Alicia is. Kathleen is easy to talk to and non-judgmental. She is also a loving mother like myself. My family may be considered crackpots, but Kathleen sees me as a person. One with feelings and who deserves basic respect. She doesn't view me as a lunatic like the rest of the town.
It must be hard for her not to see her children as frequently as she liked. But yes, I agree it wouldn't be right to uproot them from their home and friends. I'm surprised that Kathleen says she and her ex are amicably divorced. They don't loathe each other, and there wasn't anything bitter about it. She said they ultimately acknowledged they were better friends than husband and wife. So at least, there is no trauma for the children.
If Jack and I ever divorced, could we still be friends? Not that I'm planning to divorce him! Still, there is that thought in the back of your mind. Either way? At least I've got Kathleen in my life. I can't wait to show off the outfits Kathleen helped me buy. She got a good eye for fashion. The jeans she helped me get look fantastic on me. I also treasure the sherbet-colored shirt to go with them. The other multicolored shirts are cute, and that short denim skirt is lovely.
Who knows? Conceivably wearing something other than this hazmat suit will help me feel like a new woman. I hope so. Well, I might as well get some shut-eye before Jack gets back home," Maddie yawned as she returned her journal to its hiding space. Then she was off to dreamland.
