Chapter Text
There weren’t many times of the day when Sun could be alone. He was currently stuck, for the most part, in the daycare. Eclipse truly did alter everyone else’s memory’s (aside from Monty, and then Foxy and Gregory at least didn’t mind Sun and Moon), making it hard for anyone in the daycare to leave the area.
Usually Moon or Earth were around Sun in some way, shape, or form. They didn’t like to leave him alone, not when Sun tended to have multiple mental breakdowns during the day. The one time, though, when Sun could be alone, was during the night. Earth was in her own room, and Moon charged in the area connected to Sun’s room, aka Old Moon’s room, usually unable to hear Sun and what he listened to on repeat each night.
Every night, when everyone else was resting, Sun would listen to Old Moon’s recording for him. He couldn’t really cry, but if he had a heart, it broke every single time he heard it. Sun’s emotions got to him every time. The guilt, the regret, the undenying self hate Sun felt for himself, leaving Old Moon by himself because Sun got too lost in his head. He was such a…awful brother.
Sun adored the idea that Moon got a new chance at life. He was happier lately, more free since he didn’t carry the trauma and pain he did when he remembered everything, but it felt like the roles got switched. Before, Sun was the happier-more fun one, and Moon was the angsty, trauma-filled and always stressed/tired one. Now, though, it was the opposite. Sun laid on the couch, no energy to get on his bed (as usual). Turning on the recording, Sun laid his head down, holding onto Moon’s plushie, listening, hands shaking. Oh how he missed his brother, so much.
He listened like he usually did, over and over again, wishing he could cry-that way he could at least get his emotions out a bit.
Sighing, Sun’s rays flicked a bit, messing with Moon’s plushie, muttering the exact words from Old Moon’s voicemail.
He didn’t notice the noises from Moon’s (the new Moon) room, or that his brother had emerged from the hole connecting their rooms, pausing and watching, just in time for the recording to start again.
“Sun…I don’t know if I’m awake already when you’re gonna hear this…”
Hearing Old Moon’s voice, hearing his dear brother’s tone…Sun’s hands shook as he gripped onto the plushie, his own voice saying the words in perfect timing with Old Moon’s own voice.
“...or if I’m gonna be still…repairing..myself…”
Sun scoffed, eyes staring down at the damn plushie in his hands, he didn’t know Moon, New Moon was watching him with a worried expression (or as worried as he could look) as Sun kept repeating the words with Old Moon.
“I had to do something…I had to do this…”
Sun whimpered, shaking fully now. The words…oh my, they stung. Moon felt like..he had to do this…and Sun, selfish little Sun, wasn’t there to help his precious brother.
“But I…I got reset.”
Sun growled in frustration-he had allowed this to happen. Man, he really did suck, didn’t he?
“I know you understand what I did…”
Sun just nodded in agreement, he always adored and loved his brother…he knew what Moon did, why he did it. Sun held no hate for Moon, only himself.
“...and I know why you left..”
Here it comes, the most stinging part of the voicemail.
“I know you wanted to help me…Now's your chance. Just be my brother, that’s all I’ve ever needed..”
That’s when Sun broke, muttering a tiny “I will.” And with shaking hands, Sun went to make it play again-repeat, keep breaking, promising over and over again, breaking himself non-stop, knowing he deserved nothing less.
But just then…a gentle hand reached out, gripping Sun’s wrist. Sun blinked, then looked at Moon in shock. Moon, New Moon, who stared at Sun gently. The plushie was taken out of Sun’s hands, and then Moon carefully, so very gently pulled Sun into his arms, rubbing his brother’s back. Sun shook slightly, not having expected this.
“I knew…I knew you weren’t okay..that something was still bothering you..I should have known it was this.” Moon’s voice was soft, his other hand reaching up to play with Sun’s rays. They were quite sensitive and sometimes even ticklish, so Moon had to make sure it was kept as a soothing motion. Sun didn’t need to be tickled at this time.
“I am so..so sorry. I never realized how hard it truly is for you, Sun. Living with your brother, who you built so many memories with-when he doesn’t remember you.” Moon sighed, looking down at Sun, who stared back up at Moon with wonder in his eyes. “I know I’m not your Moon..I don’t know if I ever will be him again…But I can imagine that it isn’t easy when I constantly act like that part of my life, the one I don’t remember, isn’t my issue anymore…not when you still remember it.” Sun just nodded in agreement. “I’m so sorry..I’ve never truly put your feelings into consideration, have I, Sun? But seeing you, brother, desperately clinging onto the past, listening to that voicemail on what seems to be repeated, probably every night, or at least most nights…Knowing this hurts you, yet you can’t let go? I am..so, so sorry. I know I love you, Sun. I know that I have this..urge, to be there, and to protect you…And you’re in so much emotional pain you can’t escape from..So from now on, I’ll be here, okay? I’m not good at comfort, but I’ll hold you..you can even talk about Old Moon, okay? Would that help?” Sun nodded, head now resting on Moon’s chestplate, relaxing. And he started talking-random things about Old Moon. It was weird, just at first, but with New Moon humming, asking questions, and rubbing at his back and messing with his rays? It was..nice. The first time Sun has allowed himself to relax in so long. Curling closer to each other, Sun kept talking until day came, both of them laughing a bit, sort of like the old days.
Now this wouldn’t fix anything, they still had many problems they needed to handle, but for now-they relaxed, and joked around. It was a much needed moment between the brothers, slightly repairing a bond once thought to be lost.

Chapter Text
Sun was doing his usual thing: cleaning over and over again until the daycare was spotless. He hated the rain, and preferred to keep busy during a storm like the one they had going on at this time. Lunar was nearby, watching Moon work on the computers-probably having to do with Eclipse.
Picking up an old toy a kid most likely brought to the daycare and left there, Sun went to put it in the lost and found. Sadly, many kids tended to leave toys at the daycare, and Sun felt almost bad for the toys, being abandoned so easily did not feel good.
After placing the toy down, Sun shifted, turning to watch Lunar playing with his reindeer on his little beanbag, while Moon muttered to himself, clearly figuring something out.
Sun went back to cleaning, relaxed with both of his brothers nearby, perfectly safe.
Just then, there was a loud explosion, and everything went dark. The dang transformer must have gone out due to the storm. Sun shivered-he had a bad fear of the dark, and this didn’t help at all. Turning around, he tried to locate his brothers.
“Moon, Lunar? Are either of you there?” Then, Sun heard Moon’s voice echo from where the desk was. “Over here Sun! Try walking over, be careful.” Sun did as he was told, glad one of them was feeling calm in this new situation. Sun moved slowly, careful to avoid any of the piles of mess he hadn’t cleaned yet. Once reach them, he could see Moon had activated his “glowy form” (as Lunar liked to call it). Sun felt dumb, and quickly did the same. “Hey Moon. Are you and Lunar okay?” Moon nodded, and looked over to where they could sort of see Lunar, still playing with his toy, still on the beanbag. Turning back to Sun, Moon put a hand on his brother’s shoulder. “Are you okay? I know you don’t like the dark.” Sun just nodded. “Yeah, but I want to be strong for Lunar. I don’t want him to see me weak.” Moon seemed to understand. Lunar was their little brother, Moon and Sun wanted him to see the best in them, even if that was impossible. The two brothers went and sat next to Lunar, who jumped and looked at them, then around him. “When did it get dark?” Of course he was so focused on his toy that Lunar didn’t even notice. “It’s been a bit dark, the storm made the lights go out. Are you okay, Lunar?” The younger one nodded, and went back to playing. Sun’s hands shook, though he tried to stay calm. He felt like he had to.
“Sun, are you okay brother?” Lunar looked at Sun’s hands worriedly, clearly concerned for Sun now. “Yeah, I’m okay Lunar…Don’t worry about me!” Sun tried to put on a happy tone of voice, but Lunar was actually smart. The smaller reached out to take sun’s hand, looking almost..sad? “It’s okay to be scared, no one here will judge you.” Sun shook his head, still trying to be calm. “No..I-can handle it..I’m not weak, Lunar..” “No one said you’re weak, in fact admitting you’re scared is strong.” Lunar’s voice was gentle and soft, caring in a way.
“..I hate the dark, it’s…not bright enough for me…” Lunar nodded, curling closer against Sun’s side. “Is this better?” He asked, looking up at Sun, who gently patted Lunar’s head. “Yeah…Thanks buddy…” Moon also got closer, taking Sun’s hand (now freed from Lunar’s grasp), humming a gentle melody-the one he used to sing to the kids-and Sun closed his eyes.
About two hours later, after the employees helped fix everything, Sun felt himself being moved. Opening his eyes, he stared in shock at Moon, who was carrying him gently. Moon blinked down at him. “Hey brother..Just moving you to our room area..Lunar is already charging, it’s your turn.” Sun nodded, relaxing slightly in Moon’s hold. “Okay..as long as you recharge as well..” Moon seemed pleased with no fighting from Sun, and help him to their room to charge, Sun allowing himself to bask in the peaceful environment.

Chapter 4: July 16th
Summary:
Sun has lots of trauma, but the worst day of his life was July 16th, when Eclipse first showed himself.
Now, he had to deal with the trauma on that day, a year later. But he’s not alone, New Moon won’t let him be.

Chapter Text
Sun sat down at the desk area, holding a plushie a girl once left here. A girl that had her life ripped away…from him.
Ignoring the pain in his non-existent heart, Sun stayed there the whole day. He couldn’t believe this had happened. A year ago, eclipse had taken his love for children and used it against him.
Slowly standing, Sun knew he had to get up and get shit done. He couldn’t just sit here all day, doing nothing-though he basically had. Deciding to do the one that that cleared his head, he walked over to the reception area, grabbing the cleaning stuff he had laying around there.
Ignoring the darkness of his inner thoughts, Sun focused as much as he could on cleaning-he kept scrubbing, scrubbing harsher for every negative thought that came in.
It was your fault. You didn’t stop Eclipse. You did nothing .
Sun tensed, hands shaking.
You just stood there, while Eclipse killed, in your body. Even Moon hadn’t killed kids in your body. It’s all your fault, Sun.
Sun growled lowly, trying to shake off the feeling of pain crossing his body. His hands shook more, trying so hard to ignore the voice.
You are a monster. You aren’t a good person, you just try to hide behind a good, happy go lucky smile that’s plastered forever on your face, and then cause everyone around you pain.
“Shut..up…” Sun whispered the words, knowing Moon was nearby, busy ignoring Sun out of anger and betrayal doing something with the computer. He had to be quiet, not bother Moon.
You killed so easily, that kid and BloodMoon, you killed Lunar by not being a good brother or going back for him, you’ve hurt Moon over and over again, and no one even likes you. You may not have hurt Earth yet, but you will.
“Shut…up..please…” Sun let go of his cleaning supplies, instead gripping at his rays in desperation.
You. Are. A. Monster. Sun.
“ SHUT THE FUCK UP-“ Sun gasped out, curling into a little ball on the ground, shaking like a leaf.
“Sun??? Are you okay??” Moon’s frantic voice came through, his brothers running from their room to where sun was.
“…Sun…what’s wrong?” It was like he wasn’t mad at Sun, right now too concerned to me upset.
Sun just shook his head, reaching up to grip at his rays, tugging painfully.
Moon’s eyes widened. “Sun, sun hey hey no-don’t do that.” He grabbed Sun’s hands, taking them into his own. “Brother…what’s wrong. Is it… him ..?” BloodMoon, who’s been haunting Sun for the past couple months.
Sun shook his head, voice trembling as he finally speaks up. “…Just my inner thoughts…haunting me…”
Moon seems so concerned, rubbing Sun’s hands with his thumbs. “Sun, please. For once just-talk to me, brother. I’m here, please…” Sun finally realized the true difference between Old Moon and New Moon-Old would never ask Sun to open up, New just wanted to be there and love Sun as his brother.
“…July 16th…Today is July 16th, brother…The day I realized Eclipse existed, the day he took over and killed a kid-more than that. Today I just-I keep having flashbacks, the pain and horror I felt, the backlash and then the government-me killing the person in that facility…it hurts so much, I can’t even function, Moon..I’m a monster. An ugly, horrible monster that only hurts everyone around him. I never should have been made…”
Moon blinked, then gently moved Sun into his lap, holding him. “..Never say that again. You are my absolute world, brother. You piss me off-never opening up, never talking to me, putting yourself in constant danger, always comparing me to old Moon…but Sun, I know. I get it. You were abused by the old me, no matter how much he loved you, he abused you. He hurt you, caused you so much pain. You never were allowed to open up to him, we’re you? I’m so…so sorry. But I’m not him, I’m different. I’m here, I’m ready to listen.” He gently played with Sun’s rays, his brother leaning into his hand. Moon chuckled quietly. His brother could be quite adorable sometimes.
“I’m here, and I’m not leaving. I love you, Sun. The second I woke up, no memory, all I knew when I saw you is that I love you . I knew nothing else, remembered nothing else. I know old me did, too. He protected you, he got angry when you killed BloodMoon, when you hid things because he was, deep down, worried. He wanted you okay. He wanted you to be safe, and cared for. I do too, but I’m healthier mentally. I am going to comfort you, be here for you the second you need it. Just realize that, please brother, and let me help.”
Sun slowly nodded. “…okay…please-help me.” His voice was still very shaky. Moon hushed him, then stood-a careful movement, holding Sun into his arms. “Want to go play some games? Get your mind off it all? You can talk when you’re ready, but it’s clear you want a distraction.” Sun’s eyes brightened slightly. “…Cult of the Lamb?” Moon hummed. Sun’s favorite game. “Okay, Cult of the Lamb.” He started walking, making sure not to drop Sun.
They had so many more problems to deal with, but first Sun needed a break. And Moon was going to be there for his brother every damn step of the way. He wouldn’t abandon Sun, or ignore his cries for help, he was a dick anymore. He would be there in every way. Sun deserved that much.

Chapter 5: Fever
Summary:
FROM: Serendipitous_Posts:
I have a bit of an oddly specific request:
You know how Sun's being working really hard without a break now? What if he was overheating his system because of it. (Basically feverish sun)
Notes:
I love this idea-ik robots cant get sick, but I still wanted to try!
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Sun was in his room, sitting on his couch. Moon has been ignoring him the entire time since they both got back from Sun’s kidnapping by Ruined Eclipse. Sun felt bad-he shouldn’t have gone behind Moon’s back. Moon…he didn’t try to understand, though, why Sun acted the way he did. Sun knew that Moon wasn’t the old version of him, he truly did. It was hard, though. Old Moon made it so hard for Sun to even try going to him about any problems he had, why would Sun even try with New Moon (sure, this Moon had made it clear he could, he was different, yet Sun still found it difficult).
Slowly standing, Sun swayed slightly. He better charge, at least until he was at 30%, Sun knew he’d be no help if he didn’t charge enough to function.
____________________________________________________
“-nt know, he won’t wake up.”
“...burning up…worried…”
Sun was slowly powering back on. His fans were loud, and his body felt so very hot.
“...waking up..”
“..Sun…okay..?”
Sun groaned, feeling pain all over. Slowly opening his eyes, Sun saw both Earth and Moon, watching him with such great concern. Earth’s hand was gently messing with his rays. “Hello, Sun. How are you feeling.?” Moon’s hand rubbed Sun’s back, who shivered. “...Everything hurts…I don’t feel good…” Moon sighed. “You overheated your systems, idiot. You’ve been overworking yourself, despite both Earth and I telling you not to.” Sun flushed, feeling embarrassed.
“...I’m..sorry. I just wanted to…be helpful for once.” Earth frowned. “Oh Sun, you’re very helpful. Now, I’m going to go check on some things. Moon, stay here with Sun. Text me if you need me.” Moon nodded, saying goodbye, watching as their sister left the room. Moon looked back at Sun, clearly worried. “Sun…you need to lay down and rest. You may be an animatronic, but even we need to rest, and can get sick-in our own way.” Sun nodded, letting Moon move him a bit so he was laying down on the couch, closing his eyes. “..I’m sorry, Moony…For all the trouble I’ve caused…for being such a bad brother…”
Sun felt a hand gently taking his own, thumb rubbing his palm. “Sh, you’re not a bad brother Sun…You’re just stressed, and traumatized. We can talk more about it when you’re better. Relax, Earth and I will be here for you, rest.”
Sun relaxed for the first time in so long, clearly too tired to argue.
For the next few days, Sun was going in and out of resting-his systems overheated still, so glad to be resting. Earth was there, playing with his rays, reading him books-she even got him a Moon and Earth plushie to hold while they weren’t there. Moon held Sun, rubbing his back and singing him gentle songs to relax-both were there during Sun’s panic attacks and when he got too stressed, and they were there after Sun fought Eclipse, and was badly injured-not dead, he had promised both of his siblings that. They stayed there with Sun the whole time, never leaving him alone-helping him slowly heal from everything he’s been through.
Notes:
im sorry its so short guys-but I still had fun making it!
Chapter 6: SunnyGolf +Angsty Time
Summary:
Here For The Stories: May you please maybe do something with that line from Monty to Sun when they said "Shhh... You look cute when your stupid", it was so random and I was surprised no one wrote anything about it. Maybe like a Monty/Sun? Idk..
Notes:
OMGS THIS IDEA??? I LOVE ME SOME GOOD OLD FASHION SUNNYGOLF WOOOO
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
“Shhh..you’re cute when you’re stupid.”
Sun groaned, holding his head-every part of him wanted to scream. Why couldn’t he suddenly get Monty’s rough voice out of his head? He felt stuck, unsure how to get out. He had been trying to straighten up the daycare after so many kids came in, but now he just couldn't focus.
“Shh, you’re cute when you’re stupid.”
Sun suddenly froze, shocked. He realized why he kept thinking of this, of Monty’s voice, and his cute face, and his adorable big tail-why Sun laid awake at night thinking of the gator. Sun felt like his robotic heart was being squeezed. No-he couldn’t do this, not again. Roxanne already broke his heart, Sun wouldn't go through this again.
Sun let go of the broom he had been holding, walking off to his room. He needed a plan, Monty wouldn’t hate him, no, they weren’t like that-but Sun has come to cherish Monty as a good friend, he wouldn’t deal with the pain of making said friendship awkward just because of one teasing comment from Monty.
That night, Sun spent it all charging for ten minutes, then writing down his plan on avoiding and losing these dumb little feelings for the gator. He had to do this-it hurt, but it’s not like Monty truly liked Sun, Monty just liked Moon-Sun was his annoying twin brother. He was nobody’s first choice-second, third, fourth, yeah-never first.
Sun later, around 8pm, came down to see Moon on the computers at the reception desk, typing as fast as he could, clearly frustrated. Sun simply walked past his brother, focused on thinking of more ways to avoid the dumb feelings he’s having.
Sun didn’t realize Moon had looked up, hearing Sun’s footsteps, and paused. “Sun?” Tensing, the yellow animatronic slowly looked at his brother. “Yeah Moon..?” His voice is soft, tired. Moon sighed, and stood up from the chair he was sitting at. “Sun, what’s up?” Sun was confused-what did Moon mean?
He must have spoken out loud, because Moon slowly walked over. “You seem…stressed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so long in thought, not enough to walk past a pile of knocked over barrels.” Moon pointed-Sun had indeed walked past barrels that had fallen over-not picking it up. Sun’s entire code involved cleaning, being organized, and major signs of OCD. Sun never walks past a mess so obvious without cleaning it.
He tried to play it off, but could tell Moon was onto him. “Sorry, Moony..I uh-didn’t notice-” His brother seemed even more concerned at that statement. “You, my brother who cleans everything in sight the second he sees a mess and who is overly OCD, was so lost in thought that you didn’t see something as big as barrels knocked over?” Sun shrugged. “I can think hard about things, brother.” But Sun was quick to clean the mess up-even as stressed as he was, his code wouldn’t leave it alone until Sun cleaned it perfectly. Stacking the barrels evenly, Sun then turned to leave. “I’m going to watch a movie, I need to take my mind off things. See you, Moon. If you need me, text me.”
Moon watched him, seemingly confused and more concerned, but just let him go back to whatever he had been doing on the computers.
Sun roamed around the pizzaplex, before finally going back to the daycare until 12am, going to his room after he knew Moon was already in his room, charging. Making sure to be quiet-he couldn’t let Moon know he’s been out this whole time-Sun sat down on the couch. At this point, the couch was Sun’s mental breakdown buddy/his “I’m going to overthink my life and contemplate not existing” couch.
Sun laid down, staring up at the ceiling. He felt like he was going crazy. Monty was out of the pizzaplex, busy doing whatever the fuck Monty does with his life-so Sun’s lucky for now. The second monty comes back, however, and he and Moon hang out-Sun’s life will become a lot harder. He’s already feeling so guilty, and he’s not even avoiding the gator yet. But Sun had to, he couldn’t let his heart be broken-he knew he’d never be smart enough or good enough for Monty to notice him in the way Sun desperately craved. One simple crush has turned into him being in love-a “lying awake at night having a mental breakdown and thinking on the idea of him and Monty on dates” kind of in love-and it hurt so damn much.
For the next few days, Sun did the same thing, every damn day. Then, when Monty came back, Sun avoided him to the best of his ability. It took so much effort, and Sun hated every second of it.
After a day of spending time with Glamrock Freddy and Circus Baby, Sun came back to see Monty and Moon-both of them doing some building stuff. They looked up when he came in. Monty’s face seemed to somehow brighten. “Heya Sunny Boy! Haven’t seen ya in a while, eh?” Sun flushed, shifting in his spot. “Yeah uh-sorry about that…I’ve…been busy-” Sun and monty caught up-and Moon kept staring at Sun knowingly. His anxiety spiked-Moon wouldn’t notice, would he?
Sun knew Moon figured him out, and that was proven to be correct when, later Moon came to talk to him.
“So, Monty hm?” Sun stared at Moon in shock. “Wha-what do you mean…I have no idea what you’re talking about, Moon.” Moon sighed, going to sit next to Sun. “Sun, you know I don’t care if you’re gay, right?” Sun was tense, not looking at Moon. “I’m aroace, Sun. I don’t care who you like-” “I know. That’s not the problem…” “Then what is?” Sun was tense. “....I can’t get my heart broken again…I know Monty doesn’t feel the same, why would he?” Sun seemed upset by the statement, and after a moment of silence, Sun was pulled into Moon’s side, his brother’s arm around his waist protectively. “You should tell him…He won’t hate you, even if he doesn’t feel the same, and I feel as though he’d rather know from you telling him than any other way he could find out..” Sun knew his brother was right, as always, but stayed silent. He’d never tell Monty, he just couldn’t.
____________________________________________________
Sun kept avoiding Monty, and at 6pm he walked into his room, and froze. There he was, the object of his affections, holding a very familiar list in his hand, staring at it.
“...M..Monty-?” The gator turned. “So that’s why ya have been avoiding me, hm?” Sun felt full on fear fill him, shaking. “I-I-” “Hey, Sunshine, ya gotta breathe buddy..” Monty placed a hand on Sun’s shoulder. “Sunny…You really like me?” Sun nodded, sniffling. “I-I’m sorry, Monty-I know you’d never feel the same, I’m not smart, cool, or just…anything like Moon-” Monty shushed him, chuckling. “Shhhh..you’re cute when you’re stupid, Sunny Baby…” Sun blinked, shocked at the petname. “Wha-” “I like ya too, Darlin. A wholeeeee lot, have for a while. I just didn’t say nothin cus I didn’t wanna ruin our relationship.” Sun blinked again, once, twice-then got jittery. “Really? You feel the same?”
Monty wrapped his arm around Sun, chuckling. “Adorable. Yes, I like ya too. And maybe, ya would let me take ya out on a…uh..date?” Sun nodded, excited, then Monty leaned down, kissing Sun’s cheek. “Nice, I’ll pick ya up tomorrow at 7pm?” Sun nodded again, then watched Monty wave and leave-they would talk more about Sun’s clear low self-esteem, and go on many amazing dates-but for now, Sun jumped onto his bed for the first time in so long, the poor piece of furniture having been abandoned, kicking his feet in excitement, stimming happily. One good thing finally came out of his overthinking, insecure thoughts and that awful list.

Chapter Text
Sun kept looking around him, rushing to get ready. He couldn’t figure out if he wanted to be normal, and just wear his normal outfit, or do what he wanted (and what Monty told Sun to do)-wear whatever he wanted, usually something more feminine. Even though for weeks Moon has been teasing Sun about “being a femboy”, his brother wasn’t wrong. The teasing just made it hard for Sun to feel comfortable enough to tell Moon how he felt.
Turning, Sun saw the one dress he had hanging up- a gift from Monty after they found out Sun wanted to wear more feminine clothes. Monty was, despite being brash and sometimes rude, very caring when needed, and a good partner. Sun felt very comfortable around them, thankfully.
He thought for a second, then grabbed the dress and rushed to get it on.
He was anxious-it’s just how Sun was programmed-but wearing a dress, knowing if Moon saw him he would easily be judged for it, it felt…nice. For once Sun didn’t focus on what Moon would think-he focused on how he himself felt, and a bit on Monty’s reaction, when they met up for their date in an hour.
Sun then decided fuck it, let’s go all out- walking to a small spot nearby, he spotted some shoes. Most were just old, since he usually just wore his slippers-but with the three normal shoes he had, there was one more pair-matching yellow dress with white daisies on the bottom of the hem-they were just normal white wedges, the bottom soles a light brown. Now Sun got actually excited, finally seeing why people thought of him as a femboy, though Sun hated the term, it sounded so judgy. He felt..pretty-it was weird, but it wasn’t like Sun minded. Finishing it off with the sun necklace he got two weeks ago (funny enough, from Moon), Sun stared at himself (glad Moon was away in some other dimension), shocked. He didn’t feel like how he usually felt-he actually, for the first time in so long, felt attractive. He got it-he finally understood why Monty loved dressing up like this when they had a bad day-it was amazing.
Letting out the tiniest giggle, Sun felt his rays moving around on his head, showing how excited he clearly was. Checking the time, Sun realized it was almost time for Monty to pick him up. Apparently their date was a “surprise”, hopefully nothing illegal this time (running from cops got annoying after the 5th time).
Sun sat down nearby a play structure, messing with some barrels, trying to stack them over and over again, nervous. As it got almost to the time Monty was supposed to pick Sun up, the gator’s footsteps were heard before they got to the doorway of the daycare. Sun quickly stood, blushing and turning, seeing his partner staring at Sun in shock. Waving, he shifted slightly* “...Heya, Dear-I hope this isn’t too fancy-” He was suddenly pulled into a hug, being spun around in his partner’s arms, both laughing before Sun was put down. “Heh, I’m guessing you like it…?” Monty stepped back, looking Sun up and down, humming. “I love it, SunnyBaby, mannn you look great in that dress, I knew I picked the best one for ya.” The sun animatronic just laughed. “You know me well, Monty. Now where are you taking me?”
The gator just smirked, taking Sun’s hand (making Sun let out a tiny flustered noise, clearly not having expected this) and leading him out of the daycare. “You’ll see, Sunshine. Moon ain’t home yet?” Sun shook his head, sighing. “He said he’d be gone for a month in our time-meaning longer for him-it’s been a while…maybe a week longer-?” Monty looked at Sun, worried. “You’re okay without him? He’s not gone this long usually-I know you both are co-dependent..” More than they should be,Sun knew Moon could handle himself without Sun, that Moon didn’t truly need him, but Sun truly cared for his brother, and needed Moon a lot.
It hurt, and Sun had to ignore the pain the thought brought him. Monty squeezed his hand, eyes soft. “You good, buddy?” Sun nodded, humming and swinging their connected hands. Monty led him out of the pizzaplex now, both quiet, just enjoying each other’s company. Sun kept looking around, and found himself outside a pretty looking restaurant downtown.
“MONTY…this looks expensive…” He turned to stare up at his partner, eyes wide, while the other smirked down Sun. “Ha, and? Ya realize not only am I rich, so are you and Moonyboy-money isn’t an issue.” Sun winced-Moon usually handled their finances-Sun wasn’t allowed near them…after Sun spent 3,000 dollars on glitter glue and new kids toys for the children. Sun felt that was unfair-he only wished for the kids to have a good time at the daycare…
They went in, Sun looking around with wide eyes. “Wow..it’s..pretty-'' There were flowers everywhere, matching Sun’s dress and style of the day very well. Sun secretly loved flowers-despite what others would think. Monty smiled lovingly at their boyfriend, pulling Sun to their private table. “Ya like it?” Sun nodded, looking happy. “Mhm! But why here?” Motny took a menu, shrugging. “Ya said you and Moon found out how to be able to eat, thought it would be fun to take ya out to eat to test it out.” Sun, also grabbing a menu, bounced a bit in his seat-it was true, after months of begging Moon figured it out, and Sun was slowly testing out food. Monty really was sweet-people thought they were selfish-but with Sun Monty was truly thoughtful, thinking of what Sun would want, and planned ahead. They knew Sun had trauma with dating, after what happened with Roxanne…and made sure never to hurt Sun in anyway (also because if Moon found out Monty was a dead man).
Sun seemed happy, though, trying to find something to eat. Monty stared at the menu, then looked at Sun. “why not have spaghetti and meatballs? I know ya like those, and they have some good ones here.” Humming, he nodded. “That…actually sounds really good! How’d you know that, though?”
“Uh-Ya do know ya brother and I are best friends, right-? He told me.” Sun seemed shocked. “Why-wait Moon talks about me…like not just about how annoying or dumb I am..?” Monty raised an eyebrow. “Ya think he does that? Sunny..Ya brother adores ya, you're the only thing he cares about, even loves. You’re the reason Moon does
even half
of the bullshit he does-ya know that..don’t cha?” Sun was frozen…he didn’t, not really.. He knew Moon cared for him…but Moon was still-uh-abusive…to say the least. And Sun wasn’t blind to that fact, he just tried to ignore that fact. So thinking that Moon did love him-at-all-he tried not to believe that, sometimes he couldn't tell if Moon loved him, or if he was just some test subject, nothing more…With what he was apparently labeled in the computer system, it was likely.
Monty’s face seemed to soften, reaching over to grab Sun’s hands. “Hey, I know it seems like Moon doesn’t love ya, but trust me, it’s clear to see how much he adores ya, in his own way. You’re the only one he truly loves or has a need to protect.” Sun blushed, rays twirling slightly. “I-honestly couldn’t tell…Sometimes he acts like he loves me, other times he just hurts me…” Sun shook his head, then decided to change the conversation, which Monty agreed with easily.
The night continues on, both of them trying out new food, and having a blast talking about random things. Neither of them noticed a new figure entering the restaurant, the one that Moon and Monty tended to meet at to have random conversation, usually about Eclipse or something new happening. Sun’s own brother had come in, likely to relax after his time in a different dimension.
They didn’t notice..but Moon sure saw them, his body tensing as he watched Sun and Monty flirt, Monty giving Sun multiple petnames, and Sun blushing at each one. “Oh come on, I…that’s not playing fair-” The gator laughed. “Can’t help that ya get flustered easily, Darlin’.” They were so lost in the playful flirting, not seeing Moon walk up behind Monty until he said, in a dangerous tone: “What..the actual hell…are you doing with my brother..?” Both turned, staring at Moon. “B-brother? You said you wouldn’t be home for a little longer-” Moon rolled his eyes. “I got done earlier than expected. Now what’s going on here? What…what the hell are you wearing, Sun?” The Sun Animatronic was tense, shying away. “..A dress…duh..” Monty squeezed Sun’s hand. “Ya got a problem what ya brother wearing a dress, Moon? Ya gonna tease him and make him feel even more self conscious?” Moon raised an eyebrow. “If I don’t tease you, Monty, then I won’t tease Sun. I don’t care what Sun wears, as long as it’s on his own free-will.” Moon seemed almost offended. “What I’m confused on, is that my best friend and brother are…on a date?” Sun flushed. “I was gonna tell you, Moon, but you are…how to put it-” “Overprotective.” Monty said easily, and Sun nodded. “Yeah-I hate to say it, but you get very overprotective after what happened between Roxanne and I. For good reasons, I know, but still.” Moon sighed, spending the next two minutes staring at them, then shrugging. “I don’t mind this, only because I know you two, and Monty knows to not hurt you, Sun, unless he wants to die. Right, Swamp Bitch?” Monty chuckled. “Hell yeah, Nightmare On Elm Street-” Sun couldn’t help but laugh at the weird but true nicknames. “Plus, I ain’t plannin on hurting Sunny, he’s the best thing that’s happened to me.” Moon nodded, then turned to walk away. “I’ll leave you two alone…But I’ll be nearby, I expect Sun home by 12am. And Sun?” He looked at his brother. “Yeah?” “...We’re going clothes shopping tomorrow, be ready by 2pm.” With that, Moon walked off to a nearby table, keeping an eye on his brother-forever being the overprotective twin between them. Sun’s eyes seemed to almost light up, pleased at the idea, and they continued their date.
Moon couldn’t stop himself from following on the next three dates, needing to make sure Sun wasn’t going to be hurt this time-his brother tended to have such a big heart (for an animatronic)-stronger than most humans. But Monty seemed to make Sun happy, and vise versa. Even Moon’s AroAce self enjoyed seeing them together (though he could do without the constant petnames, Sun being on Monty’s lap, and kisses. It was gross).
Moon was an asshole as always, but did indeed take Sun shopping, helpfully giving his input on clothes for Sun to buy.
