Summary:

Monty goes to Freddy's house to audition for his band.

Notes:

This chapter isn't the best but the rest of the fic gets better. Thank you.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The alligator walks up to the front door of what he thinks is the right house and he hopes he’s right because that would be pretty awkward if it wasn't. Some random stranger shows up at your front door with a bass, that would be weird.

The alligator knocks on the front door of the house and he hears someone rushing to get to the front door. When the door opens he is confronted with a chicken. He’s surprised that the chicken is so excited to see someone she’s never met but he’s still happy to be greeted with excitement instead of fear. Being an alligator most people when they see him are scared because of his sharp claws and teeth. And especially because of his crimson red eyes. But he’s greeted with so much excitement by someone he’s never met. Maybe not many people have shown up for the additions and that’s why she’s so excited.

“You must be here for the audition! Come in!” The alligator does exactly that. He sees that everyone else puts their shoes by the door so he does too. “I’m Chica!” She exclaims.

“”M Montgomery but most people call me Monty.” He follows her into a room that looks like it was a living room but is now used for practicing music. There’s a microphone stand in the middle, a stand with a keytar and another stand to the left of the microphone with a guitar.

When Monty gets in he is greeted by two more people, a wolf, and a bear. The wolf is busy doing something on her phone and the bear greets Monty with a big smile.”This is Monty. He is here to audition to playing the bass!” Chica introduces him and the wolf looks up to see him and looks surprised when she sees he’s an alligator but Monty pays no mind to it.

“Well hello, Monty. My name is Freddy Fazbear and I'm the lead singer of the band.” That's what Monty expected. Freddy points to the wolf and continues “That is Roxanne Wolf and she plays the keytar.” Monty thinks he can fit in well with them.”I guess we should get started with the audition. Are you able to learn songs quickly? Because we have a gig coming up in a week.”

“I think I can learn songs quickly. But I can do anything that you want.” Monty says in his low voice with a wink.

Freddy feels like he will faint if he wasn’t sitting down.

“T-That’s great. Can you play this?” Freddy hands him a piece of music. Monty notices he’s blushing and gives him a grin.

“I can play anythin’, especially for you.” Freddy feels his face heating up while Monty takes his bass out of his case. Freddy feels relieved because if Monty was looking at him any longer he would have died of embarrassment.

When he gets his bass out Freddy sees that it’s an orangish yellow with a black design. Monty takes a minute to look at the music. He starts playing and the whole band is shocked. He was playing the whole thing perfectly. Freddy gave him one of the harder songs to play too. Monty is great at playing the bass for sure.

When Monty finishes the song perfectly Freddy applauses him. “That was wonderful, Monty!” Freddy tells him and Monty loves the praise. Chica also applauses him but he’s focused on Freddy right now. “Thanks. See I told you I can play anythin’ for you.”

And he was right he can play anything. “Monty, if you don’t mind we are going to discuss.”

“Okay, I’ll be in here.” Monty says as the band leaves into another room.

“I like him.” Chica says

“So does Freddy.” Roxy says

“Shut up.” Freddy says not in a mean way

“Freddy, you’re blushing again.” Chica tells him. He can’t control it.

“But he is really good at playing music.” Freddy tries to change the subject back to if he is good for the band.

“Freddy wants him in the band for more than one reason. But he is right, he is really good.” Roxy says.

“He’s perfect!” Freddy says and he believes it.

“I think he’s a good fit too.” Chica agrees with Freddy.

“I think he will work too and I know you really want him in the band, Freddy.” Roxy agrees with them.

“So let's go tell him the news!” Freddy says, excited that he’s going to be in the band. They walk back into the room and Monty is sitting on a chair on his phone. When Monty notices them coming back into the room he puts his phone away and stands up.

“So we have come to a decision. You’re in!” Freddy tells him and Monty seems relieved that he got in the band. He is also excited. He smiles “Thanks for lettin’ me in the band.”

“We should go celebrate.” Chica suggests to everyone. Monty likes the idea, he should get to know his new band mates.

“That sounds like a wonderful idea, Chica!” Freddy agrees and looks over to Monty to see what he thinks. Monty nods to show he’s on board with the idea. Roxy also agrees.

“I was thinking we could go to this restaurant I heard about.” Chica explains.

“‘M hunger so ‘m good with it.”

“I like the idea too.” Roxy agrees with the new member.

“I would love to go there.” Freddy agrees and they start leaving to go to the restaurant. They get into Freddy’s car. Roxy and Chica are in the back and Freddy’s driving, leaving Monty in the other front seat next to Freddy.

Monty thinks he’s going to fit right in with his new band mates.

Notes:

Thank you so much for reading the first chapter I hope you stick around to read the rest. Kudos and comments are very much appreciated I love the feed back on what I write.

Chapter 2: Dinner with the Band

Summary:

Monty and the rest of his new band go out to eat at a new restaurant and Freddy learns of Monty's past.

Notes:

This chapter is better than the first one I think and I hope you enjoy. These first two chapters come out on the 20th anniversary of Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl one of my personal favorite movies.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Freddy is driving to the restaurant that Chica mentioned. He didn’t know where it was so he had Chica pull it up on his phone. He was following where the phone said to go, it said that they were fifteen minutes away so Freddy decided to talk to his new band mate, Monty.

“Monty, how did you find out that we were doing auditions?” Freddy had no idea what to ask so he just asked the first thing that he thought of. He seemed to have gotten the alligator's attention, who was previously in his own thoughts.

“Oh, I was goin’ for a walk and I saw a poster that said there were Auditions for a bass player in a band and where to go.” When Monty looked at Freddy he thought that he looks beautiful the way the sun shines on his orange and tan fur, he wonder what it was like to have fur, he thinks it would be nice because he wouldn't always be so cold, he is always cold because he is a reptile and they’re cold blooded.

“Not many people showed up for the auditions. But I’m happy that you showed up.” Freddy tells the gator.

“‘M happy that I showed up too.” The rest of the car ride was silent. The girls in the back were on their phones doing something that Monty didn’t know.

When they got to the restaurant Freddy took his time parking making sure that it was right. Monty got out of the car and he looks at the restaurant, it looks new, and nice. Kind of like Fre-

“Come on, Monty.” Chica says. He must have gotten lost in his thoughts again.

Pay attention Monty!

Stop thinkin’ ‘bout him!

He catches up with the rest of the band. They’re at the front door walking in when he catches up to them. Chica must have made a reservation when they were in the car because when they got there there were people waiting for tables and she just told the person her name and they brought them to a table.

It was one of those wrap around tables in the corner. Monty was in the middle between Freddy on the end and Roxy, who was next to Chica. Monty takes a look at the menu that the waiter gave them. He looks through the menu and can’t find anything that looks appetizing, there’s a lot of things he’s not able to eat because he’s an alligator so he can mostly only eat meat. On the menu there’s some salads which he can’t eat, there’s steaks and beef but Monty doesn’t feel in the mood for steak or beef.

Monty ends up deciding that he just wants chicken wings. He thinks that Chica is a chicken but she is a hybrid just like the rest of them and the chickens that made these wings are just chickens. Monty doesn’t mean to be rude or disrespectful to Chica, he just wants some wings.

When the waiter comes back to ask them for their orders Chica goes first. “I’ll get a cheese pizza, please.” The waiter nods and writes it down on a piece of paper. When the waiter finishes he looks over to Roxy for her order.”I will just share with her.” The waiter turns to Monty and he tenses.

Get a hold of ya self, Monty!

Yer just orderin’ food, it’s not that complicated!

Wings! Just order wings, Monty!

“I-I’ll get wings please.” He hastily tells the waiter and hides his face in embarrassment. Monty doesn’t know why he froze, he just panicked for no reason. Maybe it was the whole chicken thing. Monty collects himself and when he looks back up at everyone he notices that they’re looking at him with a mix of concern and confusion. “Monty, are you okay? You’re shaking.” The bear asks with concern from his sudden jump in anxiety. Monty looks at his hands and he notices that he is shaking just like Freddy said, he also notices that he’s sweating a little. He’s starting to panic, he is making a scene in public and especially in front of his new band.

“I-’M fine. I-I just need some air.” Monty bluntly insists to the band. He gets up to get out of the table, Freddy gets out and steps to the side to let him out. Monty quickly leaves the table and when he gets out he glimpses at Freddy, still noticing the concern in his eyes. He looks away and briskly walks to the exit leaving the band confused and concerned.

“What was that about?” The wolf asks the rest of the band.

“I do not know.” Freddy responds with more concern in his voice than Roxy.

“Should one of us go help him?” Chica asks.

“I can go.” Freddy says as he follows where Monty went. He was as bewildered as the rest of them. Why did Monty randomly start shaking and panicking? Then he left to go get some air. It was certainly strange.

When Freddy made it to the door he walks out and looks around, looking for the alligator. Monty was on a bench by the front of the restaurant. He had his head in his hands, covering his face. Freddy walks over to him cautiously in order not to spook him. He was breathing heavily and still shaking. “Are you okay?” Freddy asks softly, Monty quickly turns to look at him.

“‘M fine.” He insisted.

“You do not look fine, Monty. Is there something wrong with us?” Freddy asks, trying to find out what was bothering the gator.

“N-No, it’s not you guys. You guys are great.” Monty answers, looking away from Freddy. Freddy is thankful that it’s not the band that was the problem. But then what is the problem? Freddy wondered.

Freddy put his hand on his shoulder to try to comfort him. Monty tenses up again from being touched, Freddy notices and takes his hand off.”You can tell me what’s wrong, Monty, I won’t tell the others if you would like.” Freddy tries again to figure out what’s wrong and this time Monty looks at Freddy like he’s going to tell him.

“Before I joined your band I was in a different one for a while. They weren't very good to me, they made me do stuff I-I didn’t want to and if I didn’t do what they wanted they would… hit me and do other stuff, and I never got to choose what I wanted, like what I was gonna wear or when we went out to eat they would pick what I would get. Sometimes I never even got anythin’ at all. So when I was orderin’ my food I froze.”

That was not what Freddy expected, he was shocked. It's horrible that he had to go through that.

Monty looks over to Freddy for any reaction but all he sees is a stunned bear. He hopes Freddy won't kick him out of the band for this.”Fred, are ya oka-” He is cut off when Freddy wraps his arms around him and hugs him tightly. Now he was the surprised one but this is a good surprise.

“I will make sure you never have to go through that again.” Freddy whispers softly into Monty’s ear. Freddy was really fluffy like a gigantic soft blanket and Monty likes how soft he is. “I think ‘M better now, Freddy.” Freddy lets go of Monty and looks at him.”We should probably get back in now, the food is probably there by now and they're probably waiting for us.” Freddy gets up off the bench with Monty following.

“Yeah, we should. Thank you, Fred, it means a lot to me.”

“It was no problem and if you ever have anything else you need help with you can ask me.”

“Oh, and could you not tell the others about this, just tell them I was nervous.” Monty doesn’t want them to know about his old band yet, he will tell them some other time.

“Of course I can.”

The two walk back inside to meet up with the rest of the band again.

Notes:

Thank you for reading this chapter comments and kudos are greatly appreciated, thank you.

Chapter 3: Getting to Know Each Other

Summary:

Monty and Freddy come back to the table and they get to know each other.

Notes:

This chapter is also a part 2 of Dinner with the Band. The fic is getting better I think.

Chapter Text

“What is taking them so long?” Roxy says impatiently. The food was at the table already but they were waiting for Monty and Freddy to get back.”They’re just taking their time probably.” The chicken tells Roxy.

“There they are!” Chica says pointing towards a tall alligator looking down from embarrassment and a bear walking with the gator towards the table. Monty was still embarrassed from the whole thing and he was making it pretty obvious, but at least he wasn’t shaking anymore, so Freddy had to have calmed him down somehow.

When they make it to the table Freddy lets Monty go in first to sit down, then Freddy sits at the end.”You guys sure took a long time.” Roxy stated. Monty didn’t think he was gone that long, but he musta been gone long enough for the food to come.

“Monty is just a little nervous is all.” Freddy tells the rest of the band. Monty is glad he told them that and not the truth. Monty doesn't want to tell them the truth yet but in time he will.

“Freddy, I just ordered you a burger because you left before you ordered.” Chica informes him. Freddy completely forgot about ordering, he was so caught up with Monty that he left before ordering. He is glad that Chica already knows what he likes so she didn’t get something he didn’t want.”Thank you, Chica, I completely forgot to order.”

Monty was still hiding his face but he did start eating his wings. After a while he stopped hiding his face but he was still not looking at any of them.”Monty you don’t have to be embarrassed about being nervous, we all get nervous sometimes.” Monty looks up to see who is talking and it’s Chica.

They’re all looking at him now waiting for a response, he starts to panic again and Freddy notices and helps him.”He knows he just has to get to know us better.” Monty is thankful for Freddy’s help, he calms down fast and responds “Yeah, I jus’ have to get to know you guys.” They seem to understand and Chica proposes an idea “Why don’t we go around the table and say something we like.”

“That sounds like a great idea.” Freddy agrees and Monty nods and Roxy agrees too. Monty thinks it would be nice to get to know his new band better so he wants to do this.”Okay, I’ll start. I like Roxy and I like hanging out with you guys!” Chica joyfully starts. Then it’s Roxy’s turn.”I like Chica and I like playing music.” Now Monty has some questions.”Are you guys together or somethin’?” He had to ask.

“Yeah, we're dating!” Chica excitedly tells him. Then Roxy adds on to what she said “We’ve been dating for almost… Five years now.” She proudly states. Well that's good to know, this gettin’ to know each other is goin’ good so far, Monty thinks to himself.

“Monty, would you like to go next or would you like me to go and you can go last?” Freddy sincerely asks. Monty still needs time to think about what he’s going to tell them. “You can go first.”

“Well, I like singing in the band and I like doing anything with my friends.” Freddy tells Monty. Now it’s Monty’s turn and he’s thought of stuff to say.”I-I like watching movies, I like playing video games. Oh, and I like to play golf!” Monty excitedly tells them. He likes playing golf a lot.

“What kind of movies do you like?” Roxy asks. She seems to be interested now, he’s happy that they care about what he likes.”Well, I like lots of movies. Some of my favorites are the Pirates of the Caribbean series, I like the Star Wars movies, and I like some other ones too.”

“Maybe we can watch a movie together sometime.” Monty would love to watch a movie with Roxy. Freddy looks curious now “Where do you play golf?” Monty always goes to the same place to play golf and he thinks he’s the best at playing golf.”I always go to play golf at a mall and I always am the best.” Monty confidently responds.

After a while of talking and eating they finish and Chica pays the bill to Freddy’s protest because he wanted to pay. They left the restaurant and walked to the car. It was dark out now, they must have been in there for a long time taking. Freddy got into the driver's seat and Monty got in the other front seat while Chica and Roxy got in the back again.

“Where are we goin’ now?” Monty asks because he didn’t know what the plan was. They could be going home but they don’t know where he lives.”It’s a little late to go do anything else, so I was thinking I could drop you guys off at your homes.” Monty is proven right about going home by Freddy.”But you don’t know where I live.” Monty tells him.

“I can drop them off first, then you can tell me where to drop you off. If that is alright with you?” That makes sense to Monty and he just wants to go home and sleep.”’M okay with that.” He tells Freddy, he starts the car and leaves the restaurant.

The car ride is mostly quiet until Roxy speaks up from the back.”Monty, tomorrow we can go shopping for an outfit.” Monty is confused. Why would he need an outfit?”What’s wrong with what I have now?” Monty asks defensively.

“Nothings wrong with what you have on now, but you need an outfit for when we perform.” She explains to him.

“Okay, that sounds like fun. When are we gonna meet?” Monty likes getting new clothes and he gets to perform in these clothes which make it even better.

“I can give you my number so you can call me and we can talk about it later.”

Monty gets her number so he can call her later. He was thinking that he would call her tomorrow to discuss shopping. The rest of the car ride was quiet again. Freddy drove to Roxy and Chica’s house where they live together. “Bye, Roxy and Chica.” Monty says goodbye and so does Freddy.

“I can pull up where I live on my phone.” Monty tells Freddy as he pulls out his phone and opens the map. He finds his apartment and gives his phone to Freddy who looks at it and gives it back to him. Freddy starts driving to where Monty showed him, it wasn’t that far away, only about ten minutes away. Freddy decides to talk to Monty.”I think you’ve had a good first day.”

“Except the part where I panicked orderin’ food.” he told him in a unhappy tone.

“That wasn’t your fault, you couldn't control that. It will get easier the more you do it.” Freddy tries to encourage him.

“Thanks, Fred. Your band is a lot better to me than my last one.”

“Do you… want to talk about it, your old band I mean.”

“I don’t really want to right now.”

The rest of the car ride is silent, Monty is thinking about how his day was and he thinks most of it was pretty good, he got in a good band that actually cares about him unlike his last, he got to tell them about what he likes and he got to learn about what they like. But there was some bad stuff like when he froze but Freddy helped him get through that. In all he likes his new band.

They get to the apartment building where Monty lives. Freddy parks to drop him off and Monty starts to get out but then he realizes something. He doesn’t have Freddy’s number.”Hey, Fred, can I get your number, so I can call you if I need to.”

“Of course you can.” Freddy says with a smile as he gives Monty his number.”Bye, Freddy.”

“Goodbye, Monty, see you tomorrow.” After they say their goodbyes Freddy drives off leaving Monty by himself. He goes inside the building and walks to his apartment. He takes out his keys and unlocks his door, opening it and stepping inside his apartment.

It was a pretty nice apartment, he had a nice living room with a big tv, his kitchen was just redone a month ago, he has marble countertops which were not cheap and new appliances. His apartment had two bedrooms and two bathrooms one by each bedroom. He doesn’t have a roommate though, he just lives by himself.

He walks to his room and falls onto the bed. He had two very soft blankets on his bed that he likes because it feels nice against his scales and he likes wrapping himself up in them to keep him warm in the night because he is cold blooded. He crawls under the covers and falls right to sleep after his long day.

Chapter 4: Going Shopping and Other Issues

Summary:

Roxy takes Monty clothes shopping at the mall.

Notes:

This chapter is better than the previous ones in my opinion so I hope you enjoy.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The sun light is shining through a certain someone's blinds, that certain someone is, Monty! He’s peacefully sleeping, wrapped in blankets. The sun shines right on his face, he starts to awaken from the light. His eyes flicker open, half lidded, pulling his arm from under the covers to block his face from the bright light.

He doesn't really want to get up, but he has to get up sometime. He looks over to his clock and it’s seven thirty. Monty is quite a morning person and he usually gets up at five, but since yesterday was not his average day he decided to sleep in.

He sits up in bed and takes a drink of water. He gets out of bed and heads to the bathroom to get ready for the day. He takes his tooth brush and brushes his teeth. After that he heads to the closet to find what to wear, after a few seconds of thinking he decides on a black tank top and black pants, he knows he’ll change later when he goes to get new clothes with Roxy so he doesn’t think about his clothes too long.

He makes his bed neatly then goes into the kitchen to get himself some breakfast. He makes some eggs and toast for his breakfast. While he’s eating his breakfast he remembers that he got Roxy’s and Freddy’s numbers yesterday. He looks at the time to see if it was too early for him to call Roxy, it’s nine so Monty thinks it would be alright for him to call her.

He takes his phone out and dials the number she gave him. His phone rings for around a minute until someone picks up the phone.”Hello, how is this?” It’s Roxy who picked up the phone.”Hey, this is Monty.”

“Oh, I forgot I gave you my number. So when do you want to go shopping?”

“Is it okay to go shoppin’ at eleven?”

“Yeah, that works.”

“Where are we goin’ shoppin’?” He asks as he walks over to sit on his couch while he talks to her. Monty never really liked calls too much. He always preferred talking in person. But he likes calling more than he likes texting. When he texts, he always keeps it as short as possible.

“I was thinking we could go shopping at the mall. If that’s okay with you?”

“Yeah that’s good with me.”

“I will see you then, bye!”

“Good bye.”

Roxy hangs up leaving Monty alone again. He has some time to kill, so he decides to watch some TV. He looks through stuff to watch and finds a show that he’s halfway done with and he likes, Better Call Saul.

He watches two episodes that were captivating and he loses track of the time. When he looks at the clock it reads eleven forty one. Monty has to leave now if he’s going to make it on time, so he stops the show and turns the TV off, then he runs to the door, takes his keys and walks out the door locking it. He runs to his car, gets in and starts it. He drives out of the parking lot and starts to drive towards the mall to meet Roxy.

He wasn’t driving exactly…legally, but he didn’t want to be late so he had to speed up a little too much. He wasn’t going to crash or get in an accident, he wasn’t driving that fast and he’s careful.

The drive takes around fifteen minutes. When he gets to the mall he finds a parking spot and parks. Monty checks his phone and it’s exactly eleven. He runs towards the entrance to meet Roxy. He wasn’t going to be that late, just a few minutes late.

He runs inside and sees Roxy waiting for him on her phone, leaning against a wall. Roxy sees him running over and puts her phone away.”There you are. You’re three minutes late.”

“I…got distracted.” He tells her, out of breath. He’s not that late, only by three minutes. He takes a minute to catch his breath, Roxy just patiently waits for him to do so.”Are you good now?”

“Yeah, ‘M good.” Monty tells her.

“Okay, then follow me, I have some stores in mind that we can go to.” She starts walking and Monty follows closely behind. There were some people walking in the mall too, but there weren't that many people. Monty likes it, he doesn’t like being crowded by people.

The two walk for a while until they come up on a store. The store had display cases that showed some of the clothes they had for sale. Roxy walks inside and the gator follows. The store had lots of different clothes options but the wolf walked to the clothes with a rock and roll style. She began to look through the clothes, looking for clothes that would look good on Monty. He didn’t really have anything else to do so he asks her “Hey, Rox, is it okay I look around the store?” He didn’t want to just leave her without knowing if she wanted him just to stay there.

“Yeah, go knock yourself out.” She tells him without looking back at him, very focused on finding the right clothes for Monty. He leaves her and walks around looking at the clothes for something he likes. He looks through a different area of the store and stumbles upon spiked bracelets. They catch his eye instantly, Monty thinks that they would fit his style, so he grabs them to bring back to Roxy.

He walks back to where she was before, with bracelets in hand. When he gets there she’s not there anymore, he starts to wonder where she could have gone. He looks around for her a while until he’s startled by someone behind him who calls his name. He turns around to see that the wolf found him, she’s holding some clothes in her arms that she must have picked out for him.

“I was looking for you.” She tells him.

“I was doin’ the same for you.”

“Well, I found you. I got some clothes for you to try on.” She says as she extends her arms showing him the aforementioned clothes.”I found somethin’ too!” He says with glee, he really likes the bracelets. He shows them to her.”Nice, I think they will fit quite well with the outfit I picked out for you.” Monty’s excited to see how his outfit looks on him.”Can I go try it on then?”

“Lead the way.” Monty leads the way towards the changing room with a skip in his step. They get to the changing rooms and Roxy gives Monty the clothes to try on and Monty heads into one of the rooms. When inside he shuts the door and takes a look at the clothes. She picked out a dark green like his scales leather jacket, a pair of black pants that have a scale like design on them, and then there’s his spiked bracelets that he picked out. He also assumes that she wants him to wear his black tank top that he had on since this morning.

He starts by sliding on the jacket, it looks really nice to Monty and he thinks the whole outfit will look great. He takes his pants off that he had on and puts on the pants that Roxy picked out. Then when he went to put the bracelets on he notices that he dropped something. He bends down and picks it up, it looks like he dropped a pair of purple fingerless gloves that look very nice. He puts on the brackets first then he puts on the fingerless gloves last and takes a look in the mirror.

I look Great!

This outfit looks amazin’ on me!

He leaves the dressing room to show Roxy who is impatiently waiting for him.”Rox, look at me, these clothes are amazin’!” He proudly states. She is even shocked by how good they look on him.”It’s great, Mont!”

“You really know how to pick out some clothes.” He sincerely compliments her.

“Thanks. I’m starving so can we go down to the food court and get something to eat?”

“‘M hungry too.”

They pay for the clothes and leave the store to head to the food court and get some food. On they're way to the food court Monty sees a store that catches his eye.”Hey, Rox, I’ll catch up with you, ‘M goin’ check out this store.”

“Okay, don’t get lost.” She jokingly tells him as he leaves her to go check out the store. When he walks into the store he is greeted by a ton of glasses and sunglasses. He went to the store because he is sensitive to light and a pair of sunglasses would help him with that. He looks around the store and most of the sunglasses are just your normal sunglasses, but out of the corner of his eye he sees one that is different. He turns to look at it and it is beautiful, the sunglasses are purple star shaped glasses with a golden rim. When Monty sees them he’s instantly in love. He picks them up and joyfully walks to the cashier and buys the sunglasses, he gets a case for them too. He leaves the store and instantly puts them on and everything is tinted in purple and Monty loves it.

Monty with his new sunglasses walks to the food court happily. When he gets to the food court he sees the wolf he’s looking for sitting at a table all alone on her phone eating food. He walks over to her and sees that she got chinese food from one of the many different options, he also sees that she got some for him.”Roxy, look at these sunglasses I got!” He tells her with excitement. She looks up at his face to see them.”They look great on you! I got us some food.”

“Thanks.” he says as he sits down next to her and begins to eat his chicken, rice, and cheese puff.

After a while they finished their meal and Monty thought it was pretty good.”’M gonna use the bathroom, be right back.” He walks towards the bathroom and when he gets in he discovers no ones in there, he thinks.

Suddenly he is pinned against the wall, he’s very startled by this and it takes a minute to see who’s pinning him to the wall. When he does make out who it is, fear floods through him, it's his old band mate.

“Hey, bud. I haven't seen you in a while.” They say menacingly to the scared gator. Monty tries to break free from their hold but he is unsuccessful.”L-Let me go, B-Bonnie!” Monty struggles to escape again but to no avail.

He puts his finger on Monty’s Mouth “Quiet. Wouldn’t want anyone to hear us, now would we?” He takes his finger away and Monty speaks again “W-What do you want?” He asks scared.

“I want…you.” The bunny tells the frightened gator.”I don’t…want…to go…with you!” Monty says trying to escape yet again and yet again he fales. The bunny reaches into his pocket and pulls out a knife. Now Monty is even more scared than ever.”That’s a shame, maybe you just need a little incentive.” He threatens as he moves the knife closer to the poor alligator’s face.”Please, don’t.” He pleads.

“Will you go with me?” Monty didn’t want to get cut but he promised himself he would never be with him again.”I will nev-Ahh!” The gator hisses from being cut under his jaw by his old band mate.”I’ll do a lot more than that, all you have to do is agree to co-” He’s cut off by Monty kicking him as hard as he possibly can right in the stomach. Monty’s let go of and the bunny is sent across the room on the floor. The bunny says one thing while he’s on the ground.”I know where…you live!”

Monty takes his opportunity and runs out of the bathroom, Bonnie can’t hurt him in front of all the people in the food court so he knows he’s safe for now. He runs over to Roxy who is on her phone again, Monty’s still panicked from what happened.”What took you so lo-” She is cut off by the panicked and terrified Monty.”Can we go!” He spat out quickly.

Roxy is confused by his panicked state and being cut off.”Sure. Is something wrong?” She asks, concerned for him. ”I’ll tell you in the car.”

“Okay let’s go. I walked here so you lead the way to your car.” Monty walks briskly and Roxy follows confused, curious, and considered. They walk for a while until Roxy notices something under Monty’s jaw.”Monty, what happened to your jaw, you’re bleeding?” Monty can hear the concern in her voice. He brings his hand and touches under his jaw and the wolf is right he’s bleeding, but the cut isn’t that deep though.”I’ll tell you in the car.” They continue and leave the mall. They walk through the parking lot to his car and Monty gets into the driver's seat and Roxy gets in the passengers.

“So what is going on? First you come out of panicking and wanting to leave, and then you have a cut that wasn’t there before you left.”

“First I have to tell you about my old band. It was a y-year ago and I was in this band with two other people, a bunny named B-Bonnie, and a fox named Foxy. They weren't good to me, they made me do some stuff that I would never want to do and if I didn’t they would…they would h-hurt me.”Monty’s eyes were starting to get wet.

No!

Don’t cry!

Not right now!

Not in front of someone!

But it was too late. He was already crying and now he can’t stop it. He feels a hand on his shoulder trying to help him calm down, he gets surprised and tensed up, but after a second he relaxes and starts his story again.

“T-They chose what I got at restaurants or j-just what I-I got anytime. S-So that’s why back at the r-restaurant I panicked.”

He was still crying. Roxy was helping moving her hand in circles on his shoulder.”It’s okay, Monty.” She comforts him and he continues.

“I ran away the first chance I-I got and I never looked back. T-Then after two months I found a poster for your band and I joined. I-I haven’t seen my old band for two months until t-today. In the bathroom B-Bonnie ambushed me and tried to get me to r-rejoin his band, b-but I refused and he cut me. Then I kicked him and ran out to you.”

Monty calmed down and stopped crying mostly, there was still some water.”I am so sorry for you. That is horrible.”

“As I was running away he said that he knows where I live. So can I maybe stay at your house for a while?” The only other place he could go was Freddy’s but he didn’t want to ask too much from him.

“Of course you can, we would be delighted to have you. We have an extra bedroom you can stay in for as long as you want and if you ever need anything just ask me.” Monty’s grateful that he can stay at their house and he’s glad that he could tell another person about his past.

“You probably shouldn't drive.” His eyes are still a little wet.”Yeah, you’re probably right.” He admits as he gets out of the car to swap places with Roxy. Roxy gets in the driver's seat and starts the car.

The rest of the drive there was silent. When they made it to their house it was dark out, Roxy pulls into the driveway and parks his car and the two get out. Chica’s definitely going to be surprised by Monty staying over.

As they walk to the front door she asks Monty a question.”Should I tell Chica about what you told me?” Monty didn’t really mind, he would actually like it if the whole band knew.”You can tell her, only if ya want to.” He didn’t want Roxy to have to tell Chica.

Roxy unlocks the front door and walks inside with Monty right behind. They take off their shoes and Roxy calls out to Chica.”Chica, I’m home!” The sound of excited footsteps can be heard from up stairs. Chica’s coming down the stairs to see Roxy.”Hi, Roxy! Oh! Monty, hi!” She’s surprised to see Monty but is still excited to see them.

Chica runs down the stairs and gives Roxy a hug.”Monty, you can make yourself at home. Your bedroom is upstairs and is the second one on the right.” He goes up the stairs to go see his temporary room.”Monty’s room?” Chica questions her girlfriend.”Yeah, I have to tell you some stuff.” She brings her to the coach and sits her down.

Back with Monty

He gets up stairs and there's a room that has a coach and a TV with an Xbox. Maybe they all can play that sometime, Monty thinks to himself. He walks past the first room on the right which looks like their room. He opens the door to his room and is greeted by a room that looks coincidentally very green, the walls are a dark green, there are plants that he likes because they remind him of a swap like where he grew up, the bed has green sheets and a soft dark green blanket that Monty enjoys. There is also a desk and a bathroom.

He walks into the bathroom and he gets excited when he sees a bath. Monty has always preferred a bath over a shower so he’s happy he has a bath. There's a sink with an unused toothbrush and toothpaste.

He loves his new room and he will have to thank Roxy and Chica for it. He goes and flops onto the bed, covering himself in the blanket. He shuts his eyes and it doesn’t take long for him to fall asleep, he’s exhausted from being attacked. He peacefully sleeps after his challenging day.

Chapter Text

It’s morning, that’s all Monty knows. It could be five or seven or eleven, he has no clue. He’s still half asleep, but he was awakened by knocking on his door. It took him a minute to process that someone was knocking on his door though. When he did process it he was much more awake than before.

He takes a minute to look around his room, he starts to panic when he realizes it isn't his room, but is calmed down when he remembers what happened yesterday.

I went shoppin’ with Rox.

I got my cool glasses.

Oh…yeah…Bonnie.

He remembers what happened yesterday with his old band mate and he starts to worry.

What if they find me here!

What if they hurt my frien-

His thoughts are cut off when there’s knocking on his door.”C-Come in.” He tells whoever was knocking on his door. The person opens the door and it’s Roxy with a plate of food in hand.”Morning, sleepy head.” She walks in and places the plate of food on the nightstand.”I came in here to check on you last night and you were out cold wrapped in blankets.” Roxy tells him. He must have fallen asleep fast.

“Mornin’, Rox.” He tells her in a raspy tired voice.

“Chica made pancakes, french toast, and bacon. I brought you some of each.” She tells the tired gator in a caring tone. Well the food makes Monty’s mood improve.”Thanks.” He tells her in a grateful tone while sitting up in bed. He looks over to the food and there’s pancakes with butter and syrup, there’s the french toast with butter and powdered sugar, and there’s the bacon.

“I’ll leave you to eat now, enjoy.” She leaves the room and shuts the door leaving Monty alone again. He grabs the plate from the nightstand. He picks up the fork that she brought with the food and starts to eat.

Monty really likes the food, he does prefer french toast over pancakes but they're still both great. He finishes chowing down the food pretty quickly. Monty’s always eaten fast; he doesn't really have the patience to go slow.

When he is fully done with all the food he gets out of bed and realizes that he fell asleep in his new clothes which wouldn't really be a problem normally but he’s not at his house so he doesn't have any other clothes to wear. He can wear what he has on for now but sometime he’s going to have to go back to his apartment to get his clothes. But he’s now worried that Bonnie will be there and attack him again, if he’s at his own apartment Monty would have nowhere to run unlike back at the mall. Maybe he can get someone like Freddy to come with him and protect him. But for now he’s just going to not think about it.

He goes to the bathroom and brushes his teeth and uses the bathroom. He looks at the mirror and notices how good he looks, his clothes look good and his long red hair looks great for just getting up. When he’s done looking at himself he leaves the bathroom and picks up his new star-shaped sunglasses and his plate to bring downstairs. He leaves his room, closing the door behind him. He looks around and sees no signs of Roxy or Chica, he walks by their room and the door is wide open with no one in there. He walks down the stairs and hears them talking, he can’t hear what it’s about though. He walks towards the voices and sees them coming from the kitchen, when he walks into the kitchen he sees a chicken and a wolf talking to each other.

“Oh! Hi, Monty!” He’s greeted by the energetic chicken.”Mornin’, Chica. Your food was great by the way.” He compliments her food sincerely and she seems very happy that he liked it.”I’m very happy that you enjoyed it!” He walks over to the sink and places his plate and fork inside.

He walks over to where they were talking “So, what are we gonna do today?” He asks the couple. They look at him and Roxy answers “We were thinking about going over to Freddy’s and practicing for the show. Are you okay with that?” He is fine with it, he does need the practice since he’s new to the band. But he remembers he doesn’t have his bass with him and he starts to worry about going back to his house again. But his fear is quenched when he remembers he left it in his trunk.

“That’s good with me.” He responds to her now that he knows where his bass is.”I like your outfit, Monty. The sunglasses look great!” Chica tells him. He loves the glasses too.”Thanks, most of the outfit was Roxy but I picked the sunglasses.” He gave credit where credit was due.

“Should we call Fred and tell him we’re gonna come over to practice?” Monty asks the rest. He didn’t want to be rude and just show up at his house without telling.

“You’re right. Can you call him?” She asks the tall alligator.

“Yeah.” He says as he pulls out his phone and dials the number the bear gave him. It rings for a few seconds before the phone is picked up.”Hello, this is Freddy Fazbear.”

“Hey, Fred, this is Monty. I’m at Chica and Roxy house right now because of something that happened yesterday, I’ll tell you about it later. But we were talking about what we’re gonna do today and we decided we should practice for the show at your house. Is that alright with you?” He is going to tell Freddy about his encounter with his old band mate in person at some point.

The bear doesn’t take too long to respond.”Yeah, that will be great! When are you guys going to come over?” He asks in a cheerful tone.

Monty turns to the girls to ask them. He quietly asks “When are we gonna go to his house?”

Roxy responds with “We can leave right now if that’s good with him.”

He goes back to the phone to tell him.”We can come over right now, if that’s good with you?”

“Yeah, I’m good with that. See you then, goodbye, Monty.” he tells the red haired gator in his friendly voice.

“Okay see ya then, bye.” He says as he hangs up the phone. Him and the couple get their shoes on and head outside. They choose to take Monty’s car because Monty wanted to drive. He backs out of their driveway and starts going to Freddy’s house.

When they got to Freddy’s house they got out of the car and Monty grabs his bass. They walk up to the front door and Roxy rings the doorbell. Then a few moments later they’re greeted by the orange bear.”Hey, guys! Come in.” He cheerfully greeted them.

Monty came inside the bear's house for his second time ever and it still looks pretty similar to the first time, just more clean. The rest of them come inside the house following Monty, they don’t have their instruments with them because they left them here.

Monty follows Freddy into their practice room. Last time he was here he was auditioning for the band and now he’s a part of the band. Freddy went to the corner of the room to look for something, he was shuffling through papers, the papers look like music to Monty and there’s a lot of different music. Monty walks behind the searching bear to get a better look at the papers he was looking for, he was right, there is a lot of different music sheets. He leans in to get a better look and the music is all new to him, he’s seen a lot of music but this is all stuff he hasn't seen.”Who makes all these?” He asks, surprising the bear. He turns around and sees Monty right behind him looking at the music.

“I do, and I practice them three hours a day.” Freddy proudly states to the curious green gator. Monty looks at him and he looks genuinely impressed.”They look great! Which one are you looking for?”

“I’m looking for the songs we’re going to play at the gig, so I can give them to you.” He says as he goes back to looking. He finds a few and hands them to Monty, while he’s looking for the last one Monty decides to study the music and after looking through them all Monty is sure he can play them all on his trusty ol’bass guitar. Freddy finds the last one and looks up to the taller gator,”Here, this is the last one.” He hands the sheet to Monty and now he has four, which isn't too bad, nothing that Monty can’t handle.

Monty follows Freddy’s lead and goes to set up his bass. As they did that Chica and Roxy show up. Monty has no clue on what they were talking about but it sure took ‘em a while. The girls find their instruments and begin setting them up at their stands. Monty goes back to his and finishes setting up his, he gives his bass a few good strums to make sure it’s tuned properly.

Freddy was done with his microphone before anyone else because it was easy to set up, all he had to do was plug it in, set it on the stand, and test it out. Monty went back to studying the music while the girls finished up.

I can play this easily!

It’s very well written too, this will sound great with all of us playin’ it!

Monty looks over to the couple and they're done setting up so Monty gets up off the floor where he was previously sitting and gets into position to practice. He looks over to Freddy and he looks ready with his hand holding the mic waiting patiently to begin. The girls get into position and Freddy counts down to start.

Practice went surprisingly well for his first time with his new band, Monty thinks. He played most of the notes right, only messing up a few times. The rest of the band was great and when they had Monty playing the bass they were even better.

Now they’re packing their equipment up in their cases. Monty puts his bass in its case and decides to just leave it here with the rest of their instruments. Monty looks over to the bear, who is done putting away his microphone, and walks over to him.”That wasn’t too bad.”

Freddy turns to look at him.”You did really good for your first time with us!” Freddy complements the gator. Monty isn’t used to the praise, his old band never said he did good. So he feels his face heat up, he turns his face away in embarrassment. Freddy takes notice of his increasingly red face but Freddy lets the poor gator be.

Stop blushin’ ya idiot!

He jus’ said ya did good!

It was just a complement!

The flustered gator walks away from the bear and goes over to his bass. When he collects himself he notices that the girls are talking and decides to go and talk to them. When he gets over to them he overhears them flirting. He turns around but before he could get away Chica notices him.”Oh, Monty, you did great today!” The chicken compliments him, but this time he doesn't turn red or get flustered.

He’s confused about this.”T-Thanks.”

What is goin’ on with me!

Why do I get all embarrassed around Freddy!

“Monty, are you okay? You seem distracted.” The wolf asks him with concern in her voice. Monty’s snapped out of his head.”’M-’M fine, jus’ thinkin’.” He tells the concerned wolf. She doesn't seem to buy it but decides to press him about it later.”Should we go back home now?” She asks him because they have nothing else to do at Freddy’s house.

“Yeah, let’s go back home.” He agrees. They walk to the front door with Freddy following them to say goodbye. They put on their shoes and Chica opens the door to let them out.”Bye, Freddy!” Chica calls out to Freddy joyfully.”Bye, Fred, have a good night.” Roxy tells the bear.

“B-Bye.” Monty says to Freddy as he walks out the door. Roxy walks out the door and Chica, who was holding the door, walks out the door behind the wolf.”Goodbye, guys, and ,Monty, nice sunglasses!” Freddy calls out to Monty as they walk to Monty’s car. Monty unlocks his car and gets into the driver seat. Roxy and Chica get into the back seat.

Monty backs out of Freddy's driveway. He sees the bear waving bye to them. Monty drives to the couple's house. Roxy and Chica are cuddling in the back and Monty’s thinking about what happened today.

Why do I feel all warm when ‘M by Freddy?

When he gave me a compliment I got warm and started blushin’

Maybe I can tell Roxy and she can help me

She’s good with this stuff, right?

When he was done thinking they arrived at home. He parks at their house and gets out of the car. Chica and Roxy get out and walk with him to the front door. Roxy unlocks the door and they walk inside. Monty takes his shoes off and goes up stairs, when he got up stairs he went to the couch that he saw yesterday. He sat on the couch and went on his phone for a few minutes, until Roxy walked up stairs.

She walks over to the sitting Monty and sits next to him.”Roxy, I need some help.”

Chapter Text

“Roxy, I need help.” She turns to him, surprised.

“I can always help you. What do you need?” She asks with concern for the nervous gator.

Monty doesn't know how to explain what he’s feeling.”I-I feel strange when I’m around Freddy. I-I don’t know how to explain it. I-It’s like I get all warm and I get all embarrassed. Do you know what's happenin’ to me?” Monty asks the wolf, confused and nervous.

Roxy thinks for a few moments then an excited smile grows on her face.”Monty! You’re in love!” She excitedly yells out to the still ever confused gator.”I-I am?”

“Yeah, you like Freddy!” Monty’s starting to understand that he may have a crush on the bear. Suddenly there is a loud sound of someone coming up the stairs fast. It’s Chica and she also seems excited but more than Roxy.”Monty likes someone!?” She asks and is given a nod by the wolf.

The chicken rushes over to the couch and hops over the back and sits next to Roxy.”Who is it?” She eagerly asks. Monty hides his head in embarrassment and he’s still trying to process that he likes Freddy. Roxy turns to her to fill her in on what was happening.”So Monty likes Freddy and that's all I’ve gotten out of him so far.”

“He likes Freddy! This is amazing!” Chica exclaims with glee.

“What am I suppose ta do?” The nervous red haired gator asks the couple. Chica takes a moment to calm down.”You should go out and do something with him, like a date!” She suggests. That sounds like a good idea to him, he knows a place they could go.

“Or you could just tell him how you feel.” Roxy suggests.

No way!

I am way too nervous ta do that!

“I like ice cream, should I take him to an ice cream place?!” Monty quickly blurts out in his rough voice. The two girls stop talking and look at him.”That’s a great idea, Monty!” Chica says enthusiastically.”Yeah, that’s a great idea!” Roxy agrees with her girlfriend.

“How should I ask him?”

“You should just ask him in text.” Roxy tells him

“‘Kay” he opens the text app on his phone and goes to Freddy’s name. He goes to type but draws a blank.”What should I say?”

“Tell him it’s you then just ask him.” Roxy instructs him. He types something out and hits send.

Monty: Hey, Fred, this is Monty.

Freddy: Hello, Monty. Is there something you need?

Monty: I was thinkin’ maybe we could go get some ice cream together and hang out or somethin’?

Freddy takes a minute before responding which made the already nervous alligator more anxious. By now Monty was pacing around the room and the girls are wondering what's going on, Monty just tells them that Freddy’s responding.

Freddy: I would love to do that!

A wave of relief washes over Monty from the bear's response.

Monty: I can pick you up in 30 minutes if that’s good with you?

Freddy: That’s great, see you then!

And Monty lets out a large sigh of relief.”What did he say?!” the couple on the couch eagerly ask together.”He said yes!” Monty excitedly told them. They both smile and are glad that Monty’s happy.

“‘M gonna go pick him up now.” He tells them as he walks to the stairs.

“Good luck!” Chica yells to him.

“Go, get 'em, Gator!” Roxy tells the tall gator.

He walks down the stairs and puts his shoes on. He yells goodbye to them from down stairs as he opens the front door and walks out to his car.

Now at Freddy’s house

Freddy is waiting for Monty to pick him up, he’s sitting at his counter, thinking.

Why was Monty acting weird today at practice?

Why did he ask me to go hang out with him?

And why is he staying at Chica’s and Roxy’s house?

Maybe he’ll tell me at the ice cream place.

Freddy gets up from the counter and walks to his living room, he sits on the couch and turns on the TV. He finds something to watch and does exactly that, he watches it.

Knock

Knock

Knock

Freddy gets up, turns off the TV and walks to the front door. He opens the door and is greeted by the tall alligator.”H-Hey, Fred.” Monty nervously greets the bear.

“Hello, Monty!” He says with a grin as he looks the other up and down. He sees that the alligator is wearing different clothes than what he had on during practice today, he’s wearing ripped black jeans and a black leather jacket, but he still has his new sunglasses on.

Monty smiles back at the bear.”So, are you ready ta go?”

“Of course I am! I can’t wait to spend time with you!” He responds enthusiastically.

“Then let's go.”

He leads the bear to his car that's parked right in his driveway. When they get to the car Monty opens the passenger door for him. Freddy thanks him and the gator goes to the other side and gets in. As he starts the car and backs out, the bear asks him a question.

“How far is the drive?”

“It’s not too far from here.” He responds as he begins to head towards their destination.

“Have you been there before?”

“I go there a lot, actually, about once or twice every two weeks. I have a bit of a sweet tooth.” He tells the bear. What he doesn't tell the bear is that he has some sort of desert almost every night, (he’s a little embarrassed about it).

They continue to talk while they drive until they arrive there. Monty finds a spot to park on the road side. The ice cream place was on a street corner, with shops and other restaurants surrounding it.

It was dark out already and when the bear gets out of the car and looks around, he thinks that all the lights look pretty in the dark. Monty gets out of the car and walks over to Freddy.

“Here we are!” Monty chuckles nervously.

“This place looks wonderful!” Freddy says cheerfully as they walk inside. They find a table by the window that looks out onto the other stores. Monty sits Freddy down and asks “What kind of ice cream do you like?” He thinks for a moment before answering.

“I think I will have chocolate chocolate chip ice cream on a waffle cone.” Then the alligator goes to get their ice cream.

This is a nice view. The bear thinks to himself. He’s noticed how nervous he has been too, he has no idea why he’s acting strange though.

Soon Monty comes back with two cones with ice cream, one with his chocolate chocolate chip, and another, mint with chocolate chips. He walks over to the table and hands Freddy’s ice cream to him and sits down in his seat.

“So, how was your day?” Monty asks the bear as he starts to eat his ice cream.

“My day was really good actually. It was great to practice with you today!” He says with a smile.

“That’s good, my day has been okay so far. It was nice to practice with the band, I think I’m gettin’ the hang of it!” He says this while he has ice cream in his mouth, which Freddy notices and he also notices that he’s got sharp, off white teeth and  a long, slitted tongue with a piercing through it. It makes him curious.

“Monty, if you don’t mind me asking, how long is your tongue?”

“I don’t mind, I get that alot actually, but it’s pretty long compared to a normal tongue. Wanna see?”

“Sure” He responds and he takes a bite of  his ice cream. He’s surprised when it hurts his teeth.

The alligator opens his maw and sticks out his tongue and shockingly it’s longer than what the bear expected and after he recovers from his freezing teeth he’s able to talk again.”That’s very long! The piercing’s cool!”

“Thanks.”

They both go back to eating their ice cream and after a while the bear starts the conversation again by asking the gator a question.

“So, what else do you want to talk about?”

Monty remembers why he came here in the first place

Come on, Mont!

Just tell him how you feel

It’s not that hard

“Monty?”

He probably doesn't even feel the same!

But what if he does like me back?

“Monty?”

What if he doesn’t and then he kicks me out of the band

I would have nowhere else to go!

I would have to go back with my old band!

“Monty!”

When Monty looks around he’s on the floor, against the wall with his knees up and he has his hands around his head and his tail is curling around him. It’s almost like he’s curled up in a ball. He thinks he must have had a panic attack and fallen off his chair and curled up into a ball on the floor.

The last thing he remembers was Freddy asking him if there was anything he wanted to talk about.

Speakin’ of the bear, where is he?

He looks around and sees the bear looking at him with a ton of concern and he also sees everyone else in the store looking at him.

“Monty, are you alright?”

He starts to panic again. He can’t stand the embarrassment of having an anxiety attack in public, especially in front of Freddy. He gets up as fast as possible and leaves the ice cream shop and goes outside.

When he gets outside he just keeps on running and running and running. He passes his car without noticing and keeps on moving.

When he calms down a little and stops running like a lunatic, he notices that he’s in a park and when he looks even closer it's his childhood park that he used to run to all the time when he was frustrated, or sad so he could hide until he felt better.

He remembers coming here one day after he was bullied in school for being small. He was a small kid but now he’s grown a ton. He always climbed the same tree and sat on the top branch of it to look around admiring the view.

But now he finds himself in the same place he was twelve years ago, but now he’s here by accident. He decides  to climb the same tree he used too. This time it’s much easier to climb and soon enough his back at the top. He looks at the night sky, he’s always liked the night sky. He loves the stars he thinks that they are beautiful just floating there in the everlasting space, just shining no matter what.

While he was running he completely forgot about Freddy, and now he realizes that the bear was following him this whole time. He notices the bear arriving at the park to find him.

The aforementioned bear sees him and from what Monty can see, he’s even more concerned for him than from what he remembers from his anxiety attack, though he can’t remember much. He is always fine when he has anxiety  attacks when he’s alone, but when he’s in public he hates it, and he hates himself for having them, but he knows he can’t control it but nevertheless he still hates himself for it.

“Monty, are you okay?”

He asks with so much concern

Does he really even care about me?

After all my runnin’ he still followed me?

He probably doesn't even care about me

I’m unlikeable

My old band got me to see that

“I’m coming up!”

He tries to climb up the tree and the tree is not a small tree, it's the largest tree in the park. Monty notices the bear starts to climb up but makes it only a few feet before falling back down, but unexpected to him he tries again to climb the living piece of wood, making it a bit higher than last time, but, as Monty expected, slides down again. Freddy tries again and again and again, but only making it a few meters before falling again. He makes another try and this time makes it thirty feet before he slips and before he falls he grabs onto a branch and is just hanging there.

He’s ne’va gonna make it up this tree

And now he’s gonna fall and get hurt

And it would be my fault

I gotta save him

Monty reluctantly climbs down the tree using his claws down to the branch that the bear was hanging onto and right before the gator can grab him he slips but his quick reflexes allow him to catch him just as he falls. Now he’s holding a very heavy bear, on a tree thirty feet up. Monty climbs up the tree while holding onto Freddy. He struggles but he does make it to the top with the bear setting him down next to him on the top branch, right where he was sitting before he had to go save the bear.

“Thank you… for saving me.”

The bear said it with such caring and honestly, it makes Monty’s gator heart flutter and his face blush.

“N-n-no problem.” Monty says while looking at the ground away from the bear in embarrassment.

Monty notices the bear looking around, he also notices that the bear seems a little shaky.

He must be scared of heights

I should comfort him

But what if he doesn’t want to be comforted?

The gator ignores his doubts and puts his arm around the bear

“Don’t ya worry you’re safe with me.”

He seems to be comforted by this and stops shaking. He looks at the night sky with an amazed glint in his eyes. Monty gets lost in his deep blue eyes of wonder and his fur that shines in the light of the moon.

“These stars are absolutely beautiful! They shine so bright in the night sky.”

“I know, they are, aren't they?”

The bear stops looking at the stars to look at the gator who was looking at him. Monty quickly looks away but the bear notices.

“Take those glasses off, I want to see your eyes.” The bear asks kindly but caringly and honestly

“But most people don’t wanna see mah eyes, they think they’re scary.” He says sadly

The bear pauses for a moment before speaking.”I think they’re captivating and beautiful.”

“Do ya really?”

“Of course I do!” He says reassuringly

Monty turns away before taking off his glasses and turning towards the bear. The bear stares into his eyes. It makes Monty feel cared for.”They’re not scary, they’re majestic.” He tells him with complete and utter sincerity.

“Thank you.”

He feels like a weight has been lifted off his shoulders. He feels like he can open up around him, really be his true self, not need to hide himself.

The bear puts his arm around Monty and Monty leans into him resting his head on his shoulder, as they both look at the night sky. He relaxes his whole body letting everything go, just taking in the stars.

This is everything he’s ever wanted

For someone to be there for him

To be cared for

“I think I love you Fred.”

Chapter Text

“I think I love you Fred.”

He looks into the lovable bear’s eyes. Not knowing what he said.

The aforementioned bear just looks into the eyes of the gator that accidentally just confessed his love to him and Freddy is flabbergasted. All he can do is look at Monty with his mouth agape.

Monty now realizes what he’s done.

“Oh shit…I did not mean to say that.”

Monty was so shocked that he shows no emotions in his actions and voice. It was almost as if he was in a different world.

Monty completely forgets where he is and he leans back and before he knows it he’s falling.

Is this where I die?

An unlovable idiot that no one will rem-

His depressing thoughts are cut off by a furry, firm hand grabbing his wrist. It’s Freddy. This is not where he dies.

“I’ve got ya!”

While Freddy is holding Monty, he notices a tattoo on the bear’s forearm, it’s hard to make out in the moonlight, but Monty believes he can see a constellation painted in ink. But before Monty can look too hard he’s pulled back up onto the branch and is lifted into Freddy’s lap.

“I think you almost died there!” He states with a surprised but almost humorous tone.

Now that Monty's spread across his lap with his back on the bear thighs and his front facing the bear and the sky, he finally feels safe, being held in the large bear's arms. But he also realizes that this is a very vulnerable position the bear put him in, and he feels even more vulnerable now that his feelings are out.

The both of them just sit here like this for a while, Monty being comforted in the bear's arms and the bear comforting him. Freddy relaxes the gator by gently caressing his arm, with smooth and deliberate motions. Monty revels in the bear’s touch.

“So…what was that about when you said you love me?” The bear asks almost teasingly

Monty’s becomes a tint of crimson, his tail curls around the bear, and he hides his snout in between the bear’s arm and torso. “Ah, you’re so cute when you’re embarrassed!” He says with a laugh.

“Ah’m not cute” The gator says in a muffled but frustrated voice.

“Oh, there’s no need to be embarrassed.” He says reassuringly, but it doesn't help, it only makes him more frustrated.

“Why shouldn't I be?” The frustrated reptile says.

Freddy takes a big sigh before speaking “Because…I love you too.” He says with what Monty thinks is the utmost honesty in the entire world. His heart flutters and he removes his head from between Freddy.

“You…you really mean it?” He looks into the bright blue eyes of the bear he’s madly in love with. He’s infatuated with the depth of his eyes.

They’re so… beautiful.

Like the depths of the ocean.

Where the horizon expanded as far as the eye can see.

I could look into his eyes forever.

The bear looks back into his eyes admiring the uniqueness of them. “I do… I do mean it, I mean it more than anything I’ve ever meant, and I mean that with my whole heart.” He softly says into Monty’s ear. Freddy leans down to him to look into his face.

And he kisses him. In this very moment his heart melts into a puddle of nothing, he wants nothing more than this.

Monty leans into it and kisses him back. They hold the kiss for a few moments until the kiss breaks off and all Monty could muster is “I-I love you.”

Freddy looks into the eyes of his newfound lover.”I love you too.” Monty knows he means it, he can see it in his eyes, his deep, bright, blue eyes. Monty goes and wraps his arms between the bear's arms and around his lower torso. He lays his head in between Freddy’s pecs. Freddy is surprised by this, but with only a second of hesitation, he hugs him back and lays his head atop Monty’s.

The warm embrace lasted a while, but when it was over, Monty’s tail was still around Freddy and his head still lay on him.”Th-thank you… for-for caring about me, truly, I am thankful that you cared enough to follow me all the way up here.”

“I’d do anything for you.”

Monty removes his head from the bear’s pecs and he goes to look at them directly.”You have big boobs, Fazbear!” He says jokingly but he does mean it when he says they’re big.

Monty sees that Freddy gets flustered by this.”I don’t have boobs, these are pectorals!” He says defensively.

“You’re so cute when you’re flustered!” and after that they sit there for a few moments until the silence is broken.

“We should probably get down from here before you fall off again.”

“Yeah, you’re right, and thank you for savin’ me again.”

“Oh, that, that was nothing, anyone would have done that.”

“No, I mean it, thank you. I’ll carry ya down.”

“Fine, you’re welcome and okay, you can carry me.”

Monty wraps his arm around Freddy’s chest and he brings him over to the main tree and leaps down to start climbing down. When he leaps down Freddy makes a cute little yep, which Monty absolutely adores.

Monty descends the tree down to the base holding the bear in his arm and climbing with the other, which was a bit of a challenge for him, but he makes it to the bottom and lets the bear go onto the ground, safe and sound.

“Don’t think ah didn’t hear tha’ little yep.” He whispers into the bear's ear teasingly.

He shivers from Monty’s teasing remark, he maybe even likes the way the gator teases him. But his acknowledgment of it ends at the shiver. Monty knew he probably won’t respond, but he wanted to tease him the way he was teased.

”It’s getting late, we should probably get back to the car.” and with that Freddy looks around for the sidewalk. But because he’s unfamiliar with this park he proves to be unsuccessful, he looks to Monty and he seems to understand with any words, so he leads the way towards the nearest sidewalk.

The two find their way to the sidewalk and when they do Monty is prompted with a question.”Monty, do you know which way the car is?”

Now that he mentions it, Monty was so lost in his head from the panic attack he didn’t even consider which way he came from, or even look around him, while running.

“Umm…Ah have no clue.” he says, almost fearful.

Ahh shit!

Freddy's gonna be mad at me!

What if he doesn't like me after this?!

No!

He’ll understand.

He’s a very understanding and caring person.

It’s okay Monty!

You’re okay Monty!

It’ll be fine.

“Well, that’s not good, it’s a 50/50 guess. We can flip a coin, I have a quarter with me, if you would like?”

“Okay, sure!” He says happily because his fears were completely off and Freddy doesn’t hate him.

Ah was stupid ta think he would hate me!

“Okay! Right can be heads and left can be tails.”

Freddy flips the quarter with his thumb and when he goes to catch it he misses. It goes spiraling towards the ground, but before it hits the ground, its fall is interrupted and by a flick of Monty’s tail, is sent upwards and into his hand.

“Flip or no?”

“Flip, and that was a very cool trick, Monty.”

The praise excites Monty and makes him smile with glee. He flips the coin onto his right hand and takes a look at it.

“It’s tails!”

“Then we go onward left.”

That wasn't even a trick

I didn’t move mah tail consciously

It did that by itself

All I did was catch the coin

But still, I love the praise

I guess mah tail’s mah greatest wingman

Along with Roxy and Chica

The two new love birds walk left on the sidewalk together. Monty never noticed this but there are no lights at or around the park, it would be almost pitchblack if not for the light of the moon; and to add onto that there are no other people around but them.

It’s a strange feelin’ being here at night

When ah was a kid, Ah ain’t never came here at night

Ah guess that’s why ‘m feelin’ different

An’ plus, ‘m here with Freddy

Monty looks over to Freddy and sees that he’s staring at him.”Why ya starin’ at me?” The bear seems to be knocked out of his trance and looks into Monty’s eyes.

“Oh, Sorry! It is just your scales.”

Monty crosses his arms to almost hide his scales like he’s embarrassed of them.

With everything I have seen from Monty, hiding his eyes with his sunglasses, covering his scales, and the overall way he acts, I believe I can deduce that he could be self conscious of himself.

Maybe it was from his old band.

If they were here right now, they would wish they never even looked at Monty!

But I have to stay calm…for Monty.

Maybe I can try to help him overcome his insecurities from what they did to him.

I will give him everything I can.

“Why ya lookin’ at mah scales? Monty’s defensive question gets the bear out of his head.

“Because…They are beautiful. The way they shine in the moonlight is spectacular. the dark shade of green is mesmerizing, and those crimson red eyes that sit between your snout are more breathtaking than the entire cosmos!”

Does he really think that ‘m beautiful?

It sounded like he really meant it.

But he’s wrong!

‘M look like a monsta, a freak!

That’s what they always told me.

That ah am different.

Scary!

“Do ya really mean all that?” Freddy hears a hint of sadness in his voice and feels the need to reassure him.

“Of course I do! I meant every word of it! You are an amazing person, everything about you is amazing! And don’t let anyone else tell you differently, because they’re wrong!”

But the way he talks.

The sincerity in his voice.

And the amount he cares.

Maybe he might just be right.

Freddy's words seem to work! Monty lowers his arms to show his scales.

“Th-thank you…it means alot.” Monty reasons softly, so softly that Freddy nearly didn’t hear him.

“I love you, Monty. Want to hold hands while we walk?”

“Ah would love too, Freddy! And… I love you too.”

He opens his hand for Freddy to take. Which he does happily. They hold hands and continue walking. They’ve just left the park and now are surrounded by buildings and street lights. After a while of walking, they pass some random small shops that are all closed because it was night, of course.

“Can I ask you a question?” Monty’s head perks up and looks to the bear.

“Of course!”

“W…Why were you so confident when we first met, during the interview; you were flirting and everything, but now you’re quiet and, for lack of a better word, scared?”

Of course he asks that

I can’t tell him the truth

He’ll care to much and want to help

And I don’t deserve to be helped

“Truth is… Ah jus’ was nervous, so ah guess it musta been adrenaline.”

Truth is that it was the 8th interview and if this one failed I would of needed to go back to my old band

And they would have done unspeakable things for running away.

So I had to suck it up and act very confident

And I knew that if I could get Freddy to like me, they’ll hire me

He looks to Freddy and by the looks of his face he seems to believe it.

Few, I didn’t know he would by it, but it seems he trusts me.

I just don’t want him to worry about me too much.

A few minutes later of walking in silence, holding hands. They finally make it back to the car.

“Finally! We’re here.” The bear exclaims.

“You want ta drive?” The other asks

“Sure, I would love to drive us!”

Freddy walks over to the passenger side door and opens it for Monty like a chauffeur. The green gator is flattered and gets into the car with a “Thank you, kindly.” and the door closes. He makes his way to the driver's side and hops in.”Can I have the keys, please?” He hands over the keys from his pocket and Freddy puts them into the ignition.

The car starts with no problem. Monty gets comfortable and looks to the ice cream shop.

Wow

The stores closed

We musta been gone a long time

“Hey, ‘m sorry ‘bout the ice cream. ‘M sorry ah ran.”

“Oh, it’s okay, you’re more important to me than some ice cream.”

Monty gives him a toothy grin and the grin is returned. Freddy starts to drive through the seemingly almost empty town, being only litten up by street lights and the moon. The drive was silent for a while, Monty just looked out the window.

It’s beautiful

The moon

The way that no matter what's goin’ on down here

It always goes around

Goin’ through the cycle

The moon, as of now, is in the shape of a crescent

Like the start of somethin’ new

Like the start of us

And my love will only grow

just as the moon’s face will

Chapter Text

“Monty, I’m sorry, I forgot to ask, where would you like me to take you?”

I could go to Roxy and Chica’s house and tell them what happened

Or

I could ask to stay at Freddy’s and tell them later

On one hand I wanna be with Freddy more

But on the other hand the girls will want to know what happened

I guess I’ll go with what my heart tells me

“Umm… Can ah stay with you?”

“Of course! I would love to spend more time with you!”

Freddy routes to his house and on the way he decides to make small talk.

“So…how do you think your time with the band has been?”

“Oh, ah think  s’been great! ‘M gettin’ along with everybody and ah can play the music!”

“That’s good to hear! I’m glad to know you are feeling welcome!”

“Yeah, s’nice to feel welcome. Ah’m not usually too appreciated because ‘m scary."He looks down and he seems to be sad.

“No way! You’re not scary, maybe a little intimidating at first, but not scary!”

That seems to cheer him up a bit and now they’re almost at the bear’s home, where Monty will be staying. Monty starts to recognize the streets. He recognizes them because he was walking down them to get to Freddy’s house, with his bass guitar, for the audition, that fateful day.

“Well, Monty, we’re here!”

He drives the car onto the driveway, opens the garage, and parks inside. Monty gets out of the car and sees that his garage is very clean and pretty empty besides for a workbench and tools in the back corner.

“Hey, Freddy. What do you do at that workbench?”

“Oh, I do woodworking, I make things like chests and different types of things like that out of wood, then I varnish it.”

“That’s cool.” He seemed genuinely interested in it and he’s never interested in anything.

They walk up the wood stairs and open the door that leads into the mudroom of Freddy’s house. There are these cubereds in a shelf to put shoes and hangers to put coats and stuff. Monty just put his shoes on the mat right in front of it and waited for Freddy to as well. Once he had done that he spoke up.

“Would you like a tour?”

“Yeah, sure.”

They exit the mudroom through one of the two doors and it goes into the kitchen.

“So, this is the kitchen, where I cook things of course!”

He points across the room to the dining table ”And there is the dining room.”

The table is made of wood with chairs to match. Freddy leads the way past the table and to the living room where there is a couch, a reclining armchair and two other orange armchairs, one of them has a footstool, and they all face a TV. Monty notices there is a fireplace in the corner of the room, which he thinks is cool.

“This is the living room, and if we walk through it, there is the stairs to go upstairs but we will go up there later. We still have one room to see here. Come this way.” Monty follows him and they go to a room he’s familiar with, the room where they practice and where he did his audition. He looks and finds his bass resting in his case where he left it.

After that he follows the bear out the room and to the stairs.

“If you would follow me.” He says as he goes up the stairs .

“‘S is quite a big house ya got ‘ear. Did ya make all your money from your band?”

“Eh… not quite. I will tell you about it later.”

He sounds uneasy about that question

Strange

Freddy gets to the top of the stairs with Monty following close behind.

The top of the stairs open up to a larger part of the hallway with four doors.

“The two rooms on the left-ish side of the hallway are guest bedrooms and the far right one is like a storage room but I mainly use it for building Legos, and the other room on the right is a bathroom.” He says while pointing to each one as he says them.

“That’s cool, ah love Legos!” The gator exclaims excitedly.

Freddy responds with a smile and leads Monty around the railing by the stairs and down the hallway. They pass a room on the left that Monty concludes is a laundry room because of the washer and dryer that he saw. Continuing down the hallway, Freddy leads him into a room.

“This is the master bedroom, my bedroom. It has a walk-in closet and over here, a bathroom.”

The room had a bed that was, to Monty’s estament, a king size, with two corresponding nightstands with a lamp on each. Opposite to the bed was a dresser with a TV on it. On the right side of the room there's two large windows connected that show the front yard. When Monty looked out he could make out two trees in the yard, one large tree right in the middle and a smaller tree with bricks around it closer to the house. The front yard also had other plants lined against the house and more on the left side. There were two sides of the lawn that Monty could see, divided by the driveway. The other lawn had more plants and trees, just like the left side.

When Monty went over to the bathroom he saw a normal bathroom with the usual stuff like a toilet, shower, and sink, but what stood out to him was the very large bathtub.

‘S probably big ‘nough for me n’ Freddy to fit in

“This is a pretty nice place ya got here, Fred.”

“Thank you, Monty, I am glad you like it!” Freddy says with a smile plastered across his face.

Then a text is heard from Monty’s pocket, he check it and it says:

Rox: Yo Gator Dude how was the date? And where are you? It's getting pretty late.

Monty types a quick response.

Monty: I’m stayin’  with Fred. N’ it was good.

He keeps it short to not keep the bear waiting. He also checks the time and it reads: 1:17.

“Oh shit! It is pretty late, we should probably be goin’ ta sleep soon.”

“What! I must have lost track of time. You are right, we should be getting to bed. And also watch your language!” Freddy scoulds

“Fine! N’- uh, where should ah sleep?” He says nervously with a hint of embarrassment.

Freddy thinks for a moment, looking away from Monty, before answering. “You can sleep wherever you would be most comfortable.” Freddy responds with certainty and a soft smile on his muzzle.

Monty nervously crosses his arms and his tail swayed side to side, like the pendulum of a clock. Before he says “Um… C-could ah maybe sleep w-with ya?” Looking away with embarrassment. His heart races waiting for the other’s response. Still not able to look the bear in the eye. But in the corner of his eye he sees him walk closer to him and his anxiousness peaks.

The bear brings a hand to his chin and turns Monty’s head to look at him. Their eyes meet each other's, with just inches separating them for each other, the bear unexpectedly says “Can I kiss you, Montgomery?”

Monty was astonished. His arms fall to his side and his tail stops in its place. It seemed as if the whole world stopped. As if they were the only things in the entire universe, they were the only things that matter. In this moment there was no past. No future. Just right here. Right now. Just him and Freddy.

Just Freddy’s look was indescribable to Monty but all he needed to know was that it made him feel like the most important person in the entire world. All he could manage was a slight nod. And with that Freddy arms wrapped around the gator, he leans in and their lips collide.
