Moths to a flame

Summary:

As Matt observed his brothers he knew deep down he would never be alone, destined to follow the lights of his life like moths to a flame.

A few months ago the triplets were invited to a pool party by their friend Nate, all 3 were glad to be back in Boston but Matt was especially pleased. Although public situations werent his favorite, the boy would do anything to see his best friend Nathan happy so he showed up.

Now, 3 months later, Matts triplet brothers had noticed a change in him. At the pool party Matt met a new guy and their personality types instantly fell together like a puzzle piece. They say opposites attract but Matt and Sam were a complete polar opposites, it was unfathomable how perfectly they completed eachother. Sam showered the boy in compliments and often teased him about little things because "seeing you angry is funny, you look like an upset garden gnome!!".

Despite Matt being incredibly drawn to his new fluffy haired friend, he couldnt say the same for his brothers. They despised Sam with such an intense passion that they couldnt stand looking at him. Due to this the 2 were extremely happy to be returning home and not having to watch Matts blue eyes constantly following the ethereal being, Sam was gorgeous but nobody was "good enough" for Matt in their eyes.

The 2 spoke every day for months, Chris and Nick had to listen to their shitty voice notes while they argued about "whos cooler" and "who would make the best parent". odd topics yet they came up a lot. Everything seemed perfect for the pair, as if they were in their honeymoon phase, this was until Matt was found on the bathroom floor.

"Matty what happened are you okay?" Chris began, rushing to his older brothers side and stroking his tear stained cheeks with his thumb.

"Sam likes me." Matt whimpered as his eyes grew glossy and his lashes fluttered.

"Oh? And whys that a bad thing?" Chris whispered, trying not to sound too jealous but the younger has always been pretty balls at hiding his emotions according to his brothers.

"I think I liked him too, but I took too long and hes talking to this new guy and-" His sobs were cut off by Nick wandering into the doorway, finding the pair on the cold tiled floor.

"Oh sweetheart." Nick spoke softly as not to startle his triplets, He gave Matt a sympathetic look as he walked into the bathroom and joined them on the floor. Matt immediately melted into the eldest brother which was shocking but Nick secretly loved it, threading his fingers into the youngers brown locks.

"What a fucking dick, he doesnt deserve you Matt youre way too good for that weirdo. Cmon babe he literally looks like a reptile i dont know what you saw in him." Chris said, snickering at his own insults. Apparently it amused Matt too due to the quiet giggles that were being muffled by Nicks chest.

The 3 spent the rest of the night binging movies, cuddled up together on the couch with the occasional sob session which was closely followed by the youngests creative insults and Nicks pointless rants. As Matt observed his brothers he knew deep down he would never be alone, destined to follow the lights of his life like moths to a flame.
