Draco was staring at his reflection in the mirror, reflecting upon his past self.
I haven’t been a good person…. I know I’ve done bad things. I have to face that fact, but… what am I supposed to do now? Can I really change for the better?
He was constantly being haunted by the past–things he had witnessed and things he had done, as well as what he didn’t do… due to his own cowardice….
I’ve failed! How can I fix this? How could he ever be able to pick up the broken pieces? The pieces of the world around him–and of himself. What would he need to do to move forward?
He clenched his teeth. I can’t stay stuck in the past! I have to move forward somehow. I need to let go…. My past self can’t control me anymore.
“Do you understand?” He said to the mirror. “You can’t control me!” His whole body was shaking. I’m going to have to let go of my pride….
“I’m not going to just stand here and let you drag me down!” He took a deep breath. “I’m… done. I’m done with you. I’m done with the past. I need to move on and be someone different.”
I want to be better.
