Chapter Text

Chapter 1

“Judith, come inside for dinner”, Carl yelled. “Coming”, she yelled back. Judith got up and grabbed her book off the ground and she headed towards the house.

When she entered the house it smelled like Pasta. “Go put away your book and go wash your hands for dinner and help your brother”, Michonne told her. “Come on Rj”, Judith told him. The two went upstairs and Judith put her book on her. Then she went to the bathroom.

She grabs the soap. “ open your hands”, she told Rj. Rj open his hands and she put the soap in his hand. “You too better not be messing around with the water”, Michonne yelled. “We're not”, Rj yelled back. The two finished up and head back downstairs.

The two sat down at the table and waited for dinner to be served. “We are here” Daryl yelled as he walked through the door with Carol, Maggie, Glenn, Hershel, and Enid. Carl got up went over to Enid and kissed her. “I missed you”, Enid siad to Carl. “Me too” he replied. Then Everyone went and sat down at the table.

“Mom, why is everyone here, is something wrong”, Judith asked. Michonne went sat down at the table and began talking. “ Well, I am going to go away for a while”, Michonne told everyone. “Why”, Judith asked. “I'm going to go find your dad”, she replied. “What, you're going just leave us here”, Judith yelled. “Judith calm down”, carl told her. “I'm doing what's best for us”, Michonne told her. “doing what, leaving us here and going off on your own, Is that what you think that's best for us”, Judith yelled at her. “ Judith, don't yell at your mom like that”, Daryl yelled at her. “You're not my dad, you can’t tell me what to do”, she yelled back. Before anyone could say anything she ran up the stairs and slammed her door.

“I'll go talk to her”, Enid siad to them all as she got up. Enid ran upstairs.

Enid knocked on the door. “Who is it”, Judith asked. “Enid”, the girl replied. “Come in”, Judith said. Enid open the door and went in and close the door behind her.

Enid sat on the bed next to her. “I am sorry”, Judith told Enid. “Why, are saying sorry to me?”, Enid asked. “I don’t know, I just don’t want to forget her voice the way I forgot Dad's”, Judith replied. “Oh, I didn't know you were forgetting Rick's voice”, she replied.
The two talked for another 5 minutes. “Do you want to go back downstairs”, Enid asked. “yeah”, Judith replied. The two got up and went downstairs.

“I'm so glad you could join us again”, Maggie told Judith. Enid sat down in her Sat and so did Judith. “Daryl, I am sorry for yelling at you”, Judith apologized. “ No problem lil’s ass kicker”, Daryl replied. Judith smiled back at him. “Mom, I am sorry for yelling at you”, Judith apologized. “It’s ok”, Michonne replied. “ Let’s talk about me leaving”, Michonne told everyone. “Carl will watch over RJ and Judith, well I'm gone”, Michonne siad. “I can move in here, to give Carl a helping hand around the house”, Enid spoke up. “I'm okay, with you moving in here as long it is ok with Glenn and Maggie”, Michonne replied. “Daryl will help Carl with Alexandra and Make sure everything runs smoothly”, Michonne siad. “When will you be living”, Carl asked. “Tomorrow”, Michonne replied as calmly as possible. “It’s getting late”, Maggie siad as she looked over at the Clock. Everyone got up and started saying goodbye to each other. “Be safe”, Maggie siad to Michonne with tears in her eyes. “I will”, She replied. “Bring my brother home”, Daryl siad to Michonne. “I will”, she replied.

Carol, Maggie, Glenn, Hershel, and Daryl left. “Rj and Judith, go Upstairs and Brush your teeth and go to bed, I'll come up and tuck you in”, Michonne siad to the two. Then the two ran Upstairs.

Michonne went and sat down next to Carl and Enid. “I'm going to go do the dishes”, Enid siad to the two.

“ I'm going to miss you”, Carl spoke up. “Me too”, Michonne replied. “You're my best friend”, Carl siad to her. “You're mine too, but I know this is for the best”, She replied. “I know”, Carl replied. “Well I better get upstairs and tuck the two in and then I'm going to head to bed”, Michonne siad as she got up. “Good night”’, Carl siad to her.” Good night, Carl, I love you”, Michonne siad to him.” I love you too”, he replied. Then Michonne went Upstairs.

Michonne went into Rj room first. “Hi, Mommy”, Rj siad. “Hi, baby”, she replied as she got down to the level of his bed. She tucked him in and kissed his head. “I love you Mommy”, Rj said as he was about to fall to asleep. “I love you too baby”, Michonne siad with tears in her eyes. She got up and Shut his door and went to Judith's room.

“Hey, Mom”, Judith siad as she put her book down. “Hey, what are you reading”, Michonne asked as she went and sat on her bed. “Harry Potter”, Judith replied. “Is it good”, Michonne ased. “It's very good”, Judith replied as she lay down. Michonne got up and tucked her in. “I love you, Mom”, Judith siad. “I love you too,” Michonne replied with tears in her eyes. “I'm going to miss you”, Judith siad. “I'm going to miss you too, I'll be back before you even realize it”, Michonne replied. Michonne walked over to the door and turned around and looked at Judith one more time. Then she turned off the light and shut the door.

Michonne went into her and ricks bedroom and began to pack what she needed. Then she lay down and Set an alarm for 5:00 am. Then she went to bed.

Enid finished the last plate and put it on the drawing rack. “Hey”, Carl come up behind her and put his arms around her waist. Enid turned around to look at him. “Hey”, She replied. “I’m going to miss her”, He siad.” Me too”, Enid replied. “She took Took me in like her own child and watched after me and Judith even though we are not her own, Especially after Dad died”, Carl siad to Enid. “I know how much she means to you, She was the best person to take you guys in, and because of her you now have a little brother, that you love so much”, Enid replied as she hugged him. “I know this is what is best”. Carl replied. Enis let go of him and looked up at him. “ I'm going to head to bed, do you want to come with me”, Enid asked him. “Yeah, I will be up there in a min”, he replied. “Ok, I'll see you soon”, she replied and went upstairs.

Carl went over to the fireplace and picked up a picture frame of him, Rick, Michonne, and Judith. He looked at the frame. “We looked like a family”, he thought. Then he sat it back on the fireplace and went upstairs.

Carl opened the door and went in closing it behind him. He took off his shirt and threw it in the hamper. And went over to his bed and crawled in the bed and covered him and Enid up.
Beep, beep, beep. Michonne got up and rub her eyes. She turned off the clock. She got dressed and grab the things she needed. She sat the bag on the chair and grab some food and put it in it. When she was done, she went upstairs to say goodbye one last time. First, she went into RJ's room and he was fast asleep. “I love you baby”, she siad to him. She kissed his head and lifted. Then, she went into Carl’s room. She turned on the light. She went over to Carl’s bed and woke him up. “Hey, wake up”, Michonne siad to him. “Hey”, Carl siad to her as he sat up. “I am leaving”, Michonne siad to him. “Ok, I love you”, Carl siad to her. “I love you too”, She replied. Then she hugged him. “Bye”, Carl siad to her. “Bye”, she replied. Then he went back to bed. She turned off the light and closed the door. And finally Judith's room. This one she dreaded the most. She was Michonne's baby girl. She was the reason why she was part of this family. She opened the door and went in. She kissed her head and fixed the blanket. “I love you, baby girl”, Michonne siad to her. Then she walked out and looked behind her one last time. Then she closed the door and went downstairs. She grabbed her bag and left.

Right before she walked out of the gates, Daryl came after her. “Michonne”, He yelled. Michonne turned around and looked at him. “I wanted to say goodbye to you one last time before you left”, he siad to her. “Goodbye Daryl”, she siad to him. “I love you”, He siad as he hugged her. “I love you too”, Michonne replied. Daryl let go and watched her as she walked out of the gate. He closes the gate and went to sit at a picnic table and smoke a cigarette then he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around and it was Connie. “Hey”, Connie signed to him. “Hey”, he signed back. “Can I sit”, Connie signed. “Yeah”, he signed back. She sat next to him. “Why are you up”, She signed to him. “Can't sleep”, he replied. “Why”, She asked. “Michonne left to go find Rick”, he signed to her. “Oh, I’m sorry”, She signed back. “It’s fine, she was doing what’s best for her kids”, he signed. “ She was a great person and I hope she finds him”, She signed. “Me too”, he signed. Connie got up and hugged Daryl. “I’m going to head back to bed, I come to find you later”, She signed. Daryl Watched her head back to her house to make sure she was safe and he looked down at the picnic table.

Chapter 2

One year later
“Help, Please let me in”, Judith heard a boy's voice yelling outside the wall. Judith grabbed her katana and went to the wall. She climbed it and looked over the wall to see a boy about her age. “Please help me”, the boy yelled. “Climb the wall,l I'll help you”, Judith replied. The boy began to climb the wall and she grabbed his hand and pulled him over the wall. Then they both fell to the ground. Judith grabbed her katana and pointed it at his face. “How many walkers have you killed? How many people have you killed? Why?”, she asked. “I've probably killed about 100 to 200 walkers, no one, and my mom killed herself”, the boy replied. “What about your dad”, Judith asked. “My dad was gone when my mom killed herself, so I pack my things and went to look for him”, the boy told her. Judith put her katana away and grabbed the boy’s hand, and pulled him up. “What’s your name”, she asked the boy as the boy Wipe dirt off his pants.” Miles”, he replied. Then he put his hand out. “Nice to meet you”, she replied as she shook his hand. “What’s your name”, he asked as they began to walk to the hall. “Judith, Judith Grimes”, she replied. “It’s good to meet you too”, Miles siad to her.

“Carl”, Judith yelled as she walked into the hall. “Hey, who’s this”, Carl asked her. “Miles”, he replied. “I'll get the council together to decide if he can stay or not”, Carl siad to Judith.

30 minutes later
Miles was standing in front of Carl, Rosita, Father Gabriel, and Aaron. “You are in front of the council of Alexandria and we are here to decide whether you can stay or not”, Carl siad to him. “ What are your name and age”, Rosita asked. “My name is Miles and I’m 15”, Miles replied. “Where are you from”, Rosita asked. “I’m from Virginia”, He siad. “How many walkers have you killed? How many people have you killed? Why?”, Carl asked. “ “I've probably killed about 100 to 200 walkers, no one, and my mom killed herself”, Miles replied. “We are going to go vote”, Carl siad siad to Miles. Then the council went into a room and shut the door. Miles went and sat next to Judith. “Do you think they're going to throw me out”, Miles asked Judith. “No, you have an excellent case for staying”, Judith replied.

10 minutes later
The council comes out of the room and takes their seats. Miles Stood up. “We have decided to let you stay”, Carl replied. “Thank you”, Miles replied. “This council meeting is over”, Carl siad to everyone.

Carl walked up to Judith. “Judith, can you show Miles around to get him comfortable in his new home”, Carl asked her. “Yes, I can show him around”, Judith Replied. Then Carl walked away. “Come on Miles”, Judith siad as she began to walk away. Miles followed behind her. The two walked in silence for a few moments before Miles began to talk. “Who was the guy that let me stay”, Miles asked her. “He is my brother Carl”, Judith replied. They went Back into Silence until Miles began to talk again. “How old are you”, Miles asked her. “13”, she replied. “So, you were born about a year after the apocalypse started”, Miles siad to her.

They sat at a tree together. They went into Silence again. Until Judith Started to talk this time.” “I’m sorry about your Parents”, she siad to him. “Thank you, what about your parents”, he asked her. “He was blown up by a bridge like 6 years ago but we never found the body, So my mom decided to go and look for him”, She replied. “Oh, sorry”, he replied. “It’s just the way things are”, She replied. “Judith”, Rj yelled. “I’m over here Rj”, She yelled back. She got up and hugs her brother. “Who is that boy”, Rj asked. “That is a new friend”, Judith replied. “Hello Rj, my name is Miles”, Miles siad to the boy. “My name is Rj”, he replied as he put his hand out. “Nice to meet you”, he replied as he shook his hand. Rj turned around and looked up at Judith. “Can I go play with Gracie at her house”, he asked his older sister. “Yes, but you have to be home by dinner”, she replied. “Ok, I love you”, he siad. Before Judith could say I love you, he was off to Gracie's house. Judith turned around and went back to the tree and sat down. Miles followed her. “So…. what do you like to do”, Miles asked her. “I love to read, what about you”, she replied. “I really don’t have any hobbies, I was always too busy learning how to survive to have any hobbies”, He replied. The two talked for another 30 minutes Until she heard her name called. “Judith, dinner”, Enid called. “I got to go, bye”, Judith siad to Miles. “See you later”, Miles replied. Then Judith runs off to her house.

When Judith walked into the house and it smelled like Burgers. “Go wash your hands”, Enid told her. She went to the bathroom and washed her hands. When she Came back out and sat cross from RJ at the table. Just as Enid put the plate of Burgers on the table, Carl walked in. He sat down and they began to eat. “How was your day”, Enid asked. “It was fine”, Judith replied. “We got a person today”, Carl siad. “What's their name”, Enid asked. “His name is Miles and he is 15”, Judith replied. “More like Judith‘s boyfriend”, Rj siad as he giggled. “He is not my boyfriend, boys are gross, just like you”, Judith yelled at him. Enid and Carl were laughing at them. “He's a nice kid, he lost both of his parents, so it’s just him”, Carl siad. “Well, at least there is a kid more your age now”, Enid siad right before she put mac and cheese in her mouth. The four of them finished eating. Enid cleaned the dishes as Rj played with his cars, Judith read her book and Carl was out in the town to make sure everything was okay for the night.

Miles watched Judith walk away. “Hey, kid”, a guy’s Voice siad. Miles Stood up and saw a guy with longish hair, walking towards him. “Hey”, Miles siad to the guy. “Hey, I'm Daryl”, Daryl siad. “Hey, I’m Miles”, He replied. “What are you doing out here By yourself”, Daryl asked. “Um...I really don't really know where to go”, He replied. “Come with me”, Daryl siad. “How do I know I can trust you”, Miles asked. “I’m not going to kill you, my niece and nephews are Judith, Rj, and Carl”, Daryl replied. “Why should I go with you, I don't even know you”, Miles siad. “Look kid, I’m going to hurt you, I’m offering you to have dinner and a place to sleep until we figure out where you can stay”, Daryl replied. “All right I'll come with you”, Miles replied. Then Daryl Began walking and Miles followed him. “So….how old are you”, Daryl asked as they were heading back to his house. “15”, Miles replied. “Got any family”, Daryl asked “Nope, both dead”, Miles said.

The two of them finally got to the house and went in. Daryl flicked the lights off and on to alert Connie that he was there. “Why did you flick the lights off and on”, Miles asked. “My friend that lives here with me is deaf”, he replied as they went into the kitchen. “Take a Seat at the table”, Daryl siad to him. Miles did want he siad and took a seat. Daryl went to The kitchen the find Connie. “Hey”, Daryl signed to Connie. “Hey, did the boy come with you”, she signed to him. “Yes”, he signed back. Connie was about to grab the blow of pasta. But Daryl got it first. Connie giggled at him. Then she grabbed the Salad bowl and they went into the dining room. Two of them sat the food on the table and they took their seats.

Miles waved at Connie. Connie grabbed a piece of paper and wrote on it and gave it to Miles.
“Hi, I’m Connie” It read. Miles grabbed the pen and wrote back. “I’m Miles”, it siad. The 3 Started to eat. “Are you and Connie dating”, Miles asked. “No, we are just good friends”, Daryl replied as he laughed a little bit. “What’s so funny”, Connie signed to Daryl. “He just asked if we are dating”, he signed back. Connie laughed. Connie grabbed the piece of paper and wrote on it and gave it to Miles. “I get if you get the Impression, I mean we do live together and eat dinner together and do most things together”, it siad. Miles laughed. The 3 of them finished eating. Connie started cleaning off the table as Daryl took miles upstairs to show them where he'll be staying. “Here can be your room for the night”, Daryl siad to Miles. “Thanks, Daryl”, he replied. “No problem kid, let me go get your towel so you can take a shower”, Daryl siad. Daryl went to the Cabinet and grab a towel and went back to the room. “The bathroom is down the hall to the left”, Daryl siad. “Thanks again Daryl”, Miles told him. “No problem kid”, Daryl replied. Then Daryl left him to his Privacy and went back downstairs. And Miles went to take a shower.

Daryl went into the kitchen. Daryl stopped and admired her for a moment as she was finishing the dishes. Connie turned around and saw him. Daryl looked away. And then walked Towards her. “Stop looking at me”, Connie signed to Daryl. “I wasn't looking I was admiring you, there's a difference”, Daryl signed back. “Whatever you say”, she signed. Daryl just laugh at her.
“Is he ok”, Connie signed to Daryl. “Yeah, he’s taking a shower right now”, he signed back. “Can we keep him”, Connie signed. “His, not a dog Connie”, he signed back. “I’m just saying he needs a family and we can give that to him”, she signed. “Yeah, I guess”, he signed back. “I think you will be a good influence on him and I'll be here to help you out”, she signed. “Fine, he can stay here”, he signed. Connie smiled. Then she hugged him. He hugged her back. Connie let go and looked up at him. Before Daryl could even think he kissed her. And she kissed her back. Daryl let go. “ I’m sorry should have done that”, Daryl signed. “No, don't be sorry”, she signed back. “I’m going to check on Miles”, he signed. “Ok”, she signed back. Then Daryl went upstairs and knocked on the bedroom door. “Come in”, Miles replied. Daryl went over to his bed and sat down. “How would you feel if you could stay here”, Daryl asked. “I would love to but what about Connie”, he replied. “She was the one that brought it up, she said that would be a good influence on you”, Daryl. “Thank you”, Miles replied. “No problem kid, now get some sleep”, Daryl replied. “All right”, Miles. Then he lay down. Daryl left and closed to door behind him. Daryl saw Connie's bedroom door was open and flicked the lights off and on to alert Connie that he was there. Connie Turned around and looked at him. She was just in a T-shirt and shorts. Connie kissed him. Then he Kicks the door closed behind him.

Chapter Text

The last 6 months have been amazing. Miles and Judith Started becoming very close. The two hung out basically every moment of the day they could. Connie and Daryl finally made it official that there were dating. Daryl Started teaching Miles how to track and Connie taught Miles how to sign.

Miles went over to Judith's house, to see if she can hang out. Miles went up the porch and knocked on the door. Enid opened the door. “Hey, Miles”, Enid siad to him. “Hey, Can Judith hang out”, he asked. “Yeah, let me go get her”, Enid replied. Then Enid went to find Judith.

“Judith”, Enid yelled. “Yeah”, she yelled back from upstairs. “Miles is here to see you”, Enid replied. “Ok, I’m coming”, she replied. Judith ran down the stairs. “Hey”, Judith siad to Miles. “Hey, you want to hang out”, Miles asked her. “Yeah sure, let me go put on my shoes and I'll be right”, She siad. “Ok”, he replied. Then she went upstairs and grabbed her shoes, put them on, and back downstairs. “Ok, let's go”, she siad to him. She closed the door behind them and went to do there one thing.

“So…. what do you want to do”, he asked her. “We can go swimming”, she replied. “Yeah, that will be fun”, He siad. “Oh right, we'll go back to our houses and we'll meet up at the gate”, She told him. “Sounds good to me”, Miles replied. Then they both went their separate ways.

Judith went up to the porch and opened the door. Then she closed it behind her. “Back so soon”, Enid asked her as she was cleaning the table. “No, We're going swimming, so I have to go get my swimsuit”, she replied as she ran up the stairs. She Grabs her bag and threw her knife and gun and an extra shirt and pair of shorts. Then so switched into her swimsuit. She throws her clothes in the hamper and heads back downstairs. “Don't be home too late”, Enid asked her. “I Won’t”, she replied. Then she left and started heading to the gate.

Miles went up to the porch and opened the door. Then he closed it behind her. “Hey, kid”, Daryl siad. “Hey”, Miles replied. “I thought you were hanging out with Judith”, Daryl asked him. “Um… yeah we are but we going to go swimming so I was coming here to grab a pair of extra shorts”, Miles siad as he went upstairs. He went to his room and grab his bag. He put in a gun and extra pair of shorts. He grabbed the bag and went back downstairs and went to the Kitchen. He grabs some water bottles and snacks. He went into the living room. “I’m going to head out”, he siad to Daryl. “Don’t get into trouble and don't be home late”, Daryl told him. “I won’t”, he replied. Then he left and started heading to the gate.

“Hey”, Miles yelled as he walked towards her. “Hey”, she yelled back. Judith opened the gate and the two left. They started walking toward a lake.

The two walked in silence until Miles began to talk. “Who’s that guy in the cell”, he asked. “Oh… that’s Negan, he bashed into the heads of two of our friends”, Judith replied. “Oh…, why”, he asked. “In all honestly, I really don't know”, she siad. “Sorry about that”, he siad. “But I guess Daryl has a bone to pick with him”, she replied. “Damm, I would hate to be Negan”, Miles siad as he laugh. “Yeah, me too”, she replied as she giggle.

They fell back into silence again until Miles began to talk again. “Do you want to play a game”, he asked her. “Sure, what game”, she asked “Would you rather”, he replied. “How do you play”, she asked. “Basically you just give somebody two different options and they put what they rather have”, he siad. “That sounds fun”, she siad. “Ok, would you rather have a cat or a dog”, he asked. “ A dog, they're man's best friend”, “That’s a good answer”, he siad. “Would you rather kiss a walker or kiss dog on the month”, she asked. “Definitely dog Because walkers are disgusting and their faces are like half falling off”, he siad as he laughed. “Yeah, your right”, she replied. “Would you rather fight 1,000 Walkers but they're as size as an ant or 100 ants the size of a Walker”, he asked. “Fight 1,000 Walkers the size of a ant, because you can just Step on them all”, she replied. He just laugh at her. The two Kept playing the game until they got to the lake.

The two sat down their bags and took off their shoes. Judith took off her T-shirt and shorts that were over her bikini. She was wearing a black bikini. Miles looked at her as she did. Judith turned around and put her clothes in her bag. Miles looked away real fast. The two walk toward the end of the cliff. “So… who’s going first”, he asked her. “I will”, she replied. Then she walked back. Then she ran and jumped. “Holy shit”, he yelled down to her. “Come on, it’s fun”, she yelled. He walked back. Then he ran and jumped. He landed just a few feet from her. “That was fun”, he told her. “Yeah”, he replied. “Do you want to do it again”, she asked “Yeah”, he replied. The two continued swimming and jumping for another hour.

“I'm going to the woods to Change”, she told him. “Ok”, he replied. Then she went into the woods. The two Change and began to head back.

They got back and headed to their houses. Miles walked Judith home. “Thanks for today”, she told him. “No problem”, he replied as he smiled. Then Judith kissed him on the cheek. “See you tomorrow”, she asked.” Yeah, see you tomorrow”, he replied. Then she went inside.

Judith went upstairs and put her thing away. Then she heads downstairs. “Hey, how was your day”, Carl asked her as he finished cooking dinner. “It was great”, she replied as she sat down. “That’s good”, he siad. Carl sat down the food. Then Enid and Rj Came through the door. “Hey, we're home”, Enid yelled. The two took off their shoes and headed to the dining room. Then the two sat down. “How was your day”, Enid asked. “It was great”, she replied. “How about you Carl”, Enid asked. “It was fine”, he replied. “Guess what I did today Judith”, Rj said with the happiest face she ever saw. “What did you do”, she replied as she smiled. “I rode my bike without training wheels”, He told her. “That’s awesome”, she replied with a smile. “I’m proud of you RJ”, Carl told him. “Thank you”, Rj replied. “How was your trip with Miles”, Enid asked. “It was fun, we jumped off the cliff, but I had to go first because Miles was a big baby about it”, she replied as she laugh. “Judith, is Miles your boyfriend”, Rj asked. “NO”, she yelled. “You don’t need to yell”, Carl told her. “I’m sorry, but Miles is not my boyfriend”, Judith told everyone. “But I saw you kiss him on the cheek”, Rj siad. “Just because I kiss him on the cheek, does not mean I'm dating him”, Judith told him. “Whatever you say”, he replied. Enid and Carl were laughing at the two bickering with each other. The 4 finished eating and cleaned up. Carl and Rj went out into the town to make sure everything was okay for the night. And Enid and Judith were cleaning up.
Miles got home and flicked the lights off and on to alert Connie that he was home. Connie ran from the kitchen to the foyer. She hugged him. Then she let go. “I missed you”, she signed to him. “I missed you too”, he signed back with a smile. “I’m just finishing dinner but you have to go take a shower because I just cleaned your bed sheets today”, She signed. “Ok”, he signed as he laugh. Then he headed upstairs. He threw his bag on his bed and went to take a shower.

Daryl flicked the lights off and on to alert Connie that he was there. Then he went to the Kitchen. “Hey”, he signed. Then he kissed her. “Hey, how was your day”, she signed. “It was fine, I and Carl did some Sorting for the winter”, he signed. “But winter is not for another At least another 3 months”, she signed. “We're just being prepared”, he signed back. Then he heard footsteps coming down the stairs. He turned around and saw Miles. “Hey kid”, He siad to Miles. “Hey”, Miles replied as he took a seat at the dining table. Daryl and Connie grab the food and went to sit down the food. Then they took their seats. “So… how was your day”, Daryl asked then put some noodles in his mouth. “It was amazing”, he siad and signed so Connie can understand. “Amazing, huh”, Connie signed. “It was fun, we jumped off the cliff, but Judith had to go first because I was a big baby about it”, he siad and signed. Daryl and Connie started laughing. “Daryl, I got a question for you”, Miles asked. “I may have an answer”, he replied.” How do you know if a girl likes you”, he asked. Daryl almost chokes down this food. “Well, why do you ask”, Daryl asked. “Judith kiss me on the cheek today and I had a weird feeling in my stomach”, Miles told him. “It Sounds like you like her”, Connie signed. “I can’t like her, she is my best friend”, Miles told them. “Miles it’s ok if you like her”, Daryl told him as he put his hand on his back. Chapter 4
4 months later
It was a cold autumn day. “When do you think the first snowfall will be”, Judith asked Miles as they walked. “I don’t know, but it’s coming”, Miles replied. “I can't wait, I love the snow”, Judith told him very excited. “I don’t know that you like the snow”, he told her. “Omg, I didn't”, she siad very surprisingly. “NO, you did not”, he laughed. “I have known you for almost a year and you did not know that”, she laughed. “NO”, he laughed. They were both Laughing and they all suddenly heard yelling. “I Wonder who's yelling”, he asked her. “I don't know, but we going to find out “, she replied. Then the two ran to the source of the yelling.
As the two got closer they saw Jesus laying on the ground and a girl. Carol was holding the girl's hands behind her back. “What happen”, Miles asked. “We don’t know but someone or thing stabbed him”, Glenn told the two. “Daddy”, Gracie yelled as she ran towards them with Hershel. “Do let them see this”, Aaron yelled. Judith ran to the two and hugged them. The Enid ran past the 3 kids with medical supplies. “Take Hershel and Gracie out of here”, Glenn told Miles. Miles ran to the 3 and took them away.

“Is my dad going to be ok”, Gracie asked Judith. “Yeah, he going to be fine”, Judith told the girl. The 3 got to Judith's house and went inside. Gracie and Hershel went to play with Rj. Then the two teenagers sat down on the Couch.“Do you think Jesus going to be ok”, Miles asked. “Most likely”, she replied. “I really hope so”, he replied.

1 hour later
“I’m hungry”, Hershel told the 2 teenagers. “We will make you some PB&J”, Miles told the boy. The two teenagers went to the kitchen and made the sandwiches. “Kids, food is ready”, Judith yelled as she sat the plates down. The 3 ran into the kitchen and took their seats. The 5 began to eat. “Judith, where are you?”, Carl yelled as he walked in. “I’m in the kitchen”, she yelled back. Carl went into the kitchen. “Is Jesus ok”, Miles asked. “No, he passed”, Carl replied. Judith doesn't say anything.
2 hours later
Miles and Judith were heading to the hall. “Who do you think that girl is?”, Judith asked Miles as they walked into the hall. “I don’t know”, he replied. The two sat next to Henry and waited for the trial to begin.

10 minutes later
The girl was standing in front of Carl, Rosita, Father Gabriel, and Aaron. “You are in front of the council of Alexandria and we are here to decide whether you can stay or not”, Carl siad to him. “ What are your name and age”, Rosita asked. “My name is Lydia and I'm 16”, the girl siad. “Who try to kill Jesus”, Aaron asked. “The Whispers”, Lydia told them. “Who are the Whispers?”, Father Gabriel asked. “The Whisperers are a strange gang of survivors who use the skin of zombies to disguise themselves”, Lydia siad. “Who is their leader”, Carl asked. “There led by my mom, they call her Alpha”, Lydia told him with a Shaky voice. “All right, the council of Alexandria is going to make a decision”, Father Gabriel told everyone. Then the 4 got up and went to a room. Lydia sat next to Judith, Miles, and Henry. “Hi, I’m Judith”, she siad to Lydia as she put her hand out to her. “I’m Lydia”, she replied as she shook Judith's hand. “This is Henry and Miles”, Judith told her. “Hi”, the two boys siad at the same time. “Are you guys siblings”, Lydia asked. “No, we are close because our parents are pretty close”, Henry told her. Then the council came out of the room. Lydia stood in front of the council again. “We have made a decision, Will let you stay, but you have to be in a cell until we completely understand what we're dealing with”, Carl told her. Then Carol took Lydia to the cell under the Grimes House.

Judith was walking home by herself because Henry and Miles had to go help Ezekiel and Daryl. Right before she went up the stairs she look down at the cell under her home. She decided that she was going to go down there. Judith walk down the cellar stairs. She has never been down there. “Hello, Lydia are you down here”, Judith yelled. “Judith, I'm over here”, Lydia yelled back. Judith ran over to Lydia's cell. “Hey, I’m sorry you are down here”, Judith told her. “It’s fine, I understand why your brother wanted to do this, but I think somebody else is down here”, Lydia told her. “Hello”, Negan yelled. “It’s Negan”, Judith reply to Lydia. Then Judith walked over to Negan's cell. “Hello, Negan”, Judith told him. “Hello, Judith”, Negan told her. “I'm honestly surprised you're still alive and Carl hasn't killed you yet”, Judith siad to him. Then she walked back over to Lydia's cell. “I promise everything's going to be good”, she told Lydia. “Judith”, Carl yelled. Judith turned around. “You can’t be down here”, Carl yelled. Then he grabs her arm and pulls her upstairs. “You can’t be down here”, Carl yelled at her. “Why”, Judith yelled back. “Negan is dangerous and we don't even know if Lydia is saying who she is”, Carl yelled back. “They're still humans”, Judith yelled.

5 years before
“Mom, we're back”, Miles yelled as he walked into their safe house with his dad. The boy bedroom is where his sick mom is. “Hey Mom, how are you feeling”, Miles asked her. “I’m doing baby”, she replied. “we got more meds”, he told her as he sat down the pill containers on the bedside table. “Thank you, baby”, she told him as she hugged him. He got up and grab the dialysis. He put it in her machine and turned it on. Miles's dad brought them some food. “Here is some mac and cheese”, he siad as he gave it to his wife and son.

“I’m going on ran”, Miles's dad told him. “I want to come with you”, he told his dad. “No, you have to stay with your mom”, he replied. Then his dad left. Miles went to his mom’s room. “Hey, Mom”, he siad. “Hey baby”, she replied. Then she started coughing. Miles ran and grabbed a trash can. “It’s ok Mom, let it out”, he told her. Then his mom lay down. “I’m going to sleep for a little bit”, she told him. Miles sat down the trash can and went back over to her. “Ok”, replied. “Baby, I love you, you always remember that”, she told him. “I know Mom, I love you too”, he replied. He tucked her in and give her a hug. He grab his ball and went outside.

Miles was playing with his ball and all sudden he heard a gunshot go off in the house, He drop the ball and ran inside. “Mom”, he yelled. He walked over to his mom’s bed and saw the gun in her hand. “Mom, wake up, please”, he cried. Miles Slid down on the side of the bed and cried. He sat there for at least 10-20 minutes and cry. He finally got the courage and stood up and grabbed the gun out of his mom's hand. He set the gun on the bedside table. Then he left the room. He went outside and grab the shovel by the garage. Then he started digging a hole.

When he was done he went back into the house. He went to his mom's room and looked at her one more time. He picked her up and took her outside. He put her in the hole and filled it. When he was down he sat next to the hole and cry. Finally, he got back up and went into the house. He grabbed a bag and put all the things he need. “Is that everything”, he told himself. He grabbed the matches off the counter and went back outside. He lit the matching through it at the house and watched it burn. He prayed to himself that he would find his dad.

Chapter Text

The last 3 months went pretty well. Carl let Lydia out. Lydia moved in with Daryl, Connie, and Miles. And no sign of alpha.

Judith got up and looked out the window. “It’s snowing”, she yelled. She ran downstairs and grab her boots. “Judith, don’t forget to put on your jacket”, Enid yelled. She put on her jacket and left. She ran all the way to Daryl and Connie's house. She Knocked on the door. Lydia opens the door. “Hey, Judith”, Lydia siad to the girl. “Hi, can Miles come out”, she asked. “Yeah”, she replied. Then Miles came running down the stairs. He put on his boots and jacket. Then went after Judith. Judith threw a snowball right at his chest. “Hey”, he yelled as he laughed. “It’s fair game”, she yelled as she another one. The two kept going back and forth. RJ and Lydia join them. “I haven't done this since I was younger”, Lydia siad as she laughed. “Uncle Daryl, come play with us”, Rj asked. Daryl grabbed a ball of snow and threw it at him. Carl threw a snowball right at Daryl. “That’s it”, Daryl yelled. Daryl went after Carl and threw a snowball at him.

“Daryl, the Whispers are here”, Aaron yelled. Daryl got up and ran to the gate. Carl went after him. “Rj, go inside by Connie”, Judith told him. Then Judith, Miles, and Lydia ran to the gate. They climbed the outpost and looked outside the walls.

“I'm Alpha and you have something I want”, she yelled. “I’m Carl Grimes and what do you want”, asked her. “You have my daughter, Lydia, and I want her back, and then peace will be given”, she told him. “Well, you’re not getting her back”, Daryl yelled. “Then die”, Alpha told them. Then Alpha and the Whispers left. “We will have a community meeting in 10 minutes”, Carl told the people that were there.

10 minutes
Carl, Rosita, Father Gabriel, and Aaron were sitting at the table. “What do we do?”Father Gabriel asked. “We just give her back”, Aaron said. Then Daryl got up. “NO, we are not giving her back to that monster”, He yelled. “They killed Jesus”, Aaron yelled. “So we are going to punish the girl for the sins of her mother”, Daryl said. No one said anything. “That’s what I thought”, Daryl said then he walked out. “Meeting over”, Carl said. Then everyone left.

Lydia walked home with Miles and Connie. “Are you ok?”, Miles asked Lydia. “Yeah, I’m fine”, she replied. Then the 3 fall back into silence. “Daryl”, Miles yelled. “In the kitchen”, he told them.
The 4 sat down to eat. “Thanks for Standing up for me”, Lydia told Daryl. “No problem”, Daryl replied as he put potatoes in his mouth. Then the 4 fall back into silence. “I have to tell you, guys, something”, Connie signed. “What's up”, Miles signed. “Are you sick”, Lydia signed. “No, I’m pregnant”, Connie signed. “That’s amazing”, Lydia signed with the biggest smile you've ever seen on her. Daryl just looked at Connie. “Daryl, are you ok”, Miles asked. “Can I be excused for a moment”, Daryl signed. “Yeah”, Connie signed back. Then he got up and went outside. Connie looked like she was about to cry. “I'll go talk to him”, Miles siad. Then he went after Daryl. “It's going to be all right “, Lydia signed to Connie.

“Daryl”, Miles yelled. Miles ran to Judith's house. He knocks really hard. Carl answered. “Is everything okay”, Carl asked. “No, Connie told us she was pregnant and he ran off”, Miles told him as he panicked. “It's going to be just fine”, Carl said to the boy. Carl grabs his gun and Leaves with Miles to find Daryl. “Daryl”, Carl yelled. Carol came running over to the two to see what was going on. “Why are you yelling for Daryl”, Carol asked. “Connie told us she was pregnant and he ran off”, Miles told Carol. “Oh god”, Carol siad. The 3 continued searching until they found him up in a guard tower. “You guys can go, I think it's best if I talked to him alone”, Miles told the 2. “Come get us, if you need help”, Carol said to the boy. Then the 2 left. Then Miles climbs the tower.

“Hey”, Miles siad to him as he sat down next to the guy. “Hey”, Daryl replied. “Why did you run off”, Miles asked. “I can’t be a dad”, Daryl siad. “Why”, Miles asked. “I'm probably going to fuck up and end up like my father”, Daryl siad not looking at the boy. “I think you would be a good dad”, Miles siad. “How do you know”, Daryl replied. “I mean, your raising me and Lydia, and we are turning out all right”, Miles told him. Daryl was finally able to look at Miles. “And you love Connie right”, Miles asked. “Yeah, I love her”, Daryl replied. “I promise everything's going to work out”, Miles siad to him. “I want you to know something”, Daryl siad to the boy. “What’s up”, Miles replied. “I know I don’t tell you and Lydia a lot, but you guys know I love you two, I would die for you two”, Daryl siad. Miles don’t say anything. Miles hugged him. “I love you, your probably the best thing that ever happened to me”, Miles siad as he cried. “I love you too kid”, Daryl replied. The first time since Rick died that Daryl actually felt to cry. “Come on, let's go home”, Daryl siad.

The two got home and Daryl ran to Connie. He kissed her. “I love you, I’m so sorry”, Daryl signed. “It’s ok”, Connie signed back to him with a smile. Then Daryl turned to Lydia. “Lydia, I know I never said this to you, but I love you like mine own”, Daryl siad to her. Lydia ran over to Daryl and hugged him. “I love you too”, Lydia siad as she cried. “Are we going to be a family”, Miles signed. “Yes, we are a family”, Connie signed back to him with a smile.
