My Only Lord

Summary:

After finding an Angel’s staff, the Z Warriors intended to return it to Whis. But when Piccolo comes in contact with it, an unfamiliar Angel appears and takes him away. Upon waking and seeing the Angel in front of him, Piccolo was ready to fight. Instead, the Angel quickly drops, calling out…”My Lord.”

Notes:

What if the wish Seventeen made revived more than just the 11 erased universes is a theory I’ve heard on Discord and now I’ve been thinking about all the trouble it could bring. Like the possibility of a paid leave Angel going on a hunt for their lost God. This will also be my first canon/oc ship fic.

Chapter 1: Prologue-Return of the Lost Universes

Chapter Text

I will wait…until the day I can finally welcome you back, my Lord…

……

Within Zeno’s palace, the Grand Priest watches as his two Lords look at a projection of all the universes. Ever since the Tournament of Power ended and Android 17 has stated his wish, the Super Dragon Balls have restored the 11 universes that were lost. But it appears to have done more than just that. Rather than 12 universes appearing on the projection, there are now…18.

The two Zeno’s watch this with curiosity. Both tilting their heads.

“Ah, the other 6 also came back.”

“Ah, the other 6 also came back.” Both Zeno’s spoke.

The Grand Priest walks closer to the projection to take a closer look.

“Indeed they have, my Lords. It seems the Super Dragon Balls are generous as always.

“But 18 is too many.”

“Yes, too many.”

“Do not fret Lord Zeno, after all with there being two Lords, managing 18 universes will be no trouble at all. And if one fails to meet expectations, it can be disposed of to make room.”

This reason was enough to appease the two lords. Nodding in synchronization.

It is well known that Zeno has quite the childish temper. Many believe that the reason for the other 6 universes destruction is due to the Omni-King having one of his tantrums, if not that the universe scored too low. Whatever the reason it was, seeing the universe they destroyed come back would mean once again these universes are also going to face the same judgment as the other universes. Increase their score or be wiped off once again.

“Now that there are 18 universes once more, I believe it’s about time I reappointed the Angels who were on leave.” And maybe that stubborn child would finally come out of isolation.

Within another dimension, a strong power shakes the world. Interrupting the foggy atmosphere for a moment, causing the many flowers in the garden to sway lightly. In the center of this vast garden, there lay a sleeping figure. Upon feeling the movement of the flowers, they startle awake and sat up in confusion.

“…?”

Shaking the petals and leaves off their figure, revealing an Angel underneath, their long white hair tied in a high ponytail, and donning an Angel's robe, creamy yellow in color. At that moment, the garden dimension wavers and disappears, leaving the Angel to float in space with a glowing staff in their grip.

Within the void of space, the galaxies shone brightly within the newly revived universe. Once again filled with the life that has been erased for so long.

“…he’s…not here.” The Angel’s mood seems to dull, only watching the now revived world without much of an expression, their face once again falling into an almost sleepy look of indifference despite having been asleep for who knows how long.

The staff glows, catching the Angel’s attention as he answers the call, the Grand Priest’s face appears on the staff's orb.

“Ah, I see you actually decided to answer. I almost thought I’ll have to be there in person to convince you to come out.”

“…”

“No words? That’s fine. It has been a while after all. You have plenty of time to catch up with the others.” The Grand Priest said with a smile. He was not at all bothered by his child’s rudeness.

“As you can see, all the universes have been restored. You can thank a selfless soul for that. So you are officially back on duty.” His eyes narrowed a bit. “And before you forget again, Advocaat. Please find a new God of Destruction, no point in stalling any further. We wouldn't want a repeat of last time would we.”

And with that, communication ended, and he was left alone.

“…,” A new God of Destruction. How long has it been since this universe had one before its erasure? The Grand Priest and the other Angels have constantly been reminding him that he needs to stop dragging this out, otherwise, this universe would be filled to the brim and unable to compensate for new life.

His grip tightened on his staff, that power that woke him up, it felt familiar. Sure he doesn’t sense the one in this universe, but he is sure that he wasn’t mistaken. That was his power. He’s back…

Pointing his staff, Advocaat opens up a warp tunnel to several other universes. The one he’s looking for isn't within this universe, so he is confident that he must be in another universe. It’s not common for Gods of Destruction to be recruited from a universe other than their own, but Advocaat had promised himself that he would accept no other Lord to follow. It has to be him

“We shall meet once again my Lord.” And the Angel disappears without a trace.

Chapter 2: I Found You

Summary:

Capsule Corp’s lab gets destroyed once again, and the gang runs into a strange Angel. This can only end well.

Chapter Text

“It’s ready Dr. Briefs, your newly improved telescope.” Dr. Hedo said, standing proudly by the large device. The telescope that is several times larger than a human is propped up and ready for use.

“Well that’s great Dr. Hedo,” Dr. Briefs said, taking the time to admire the new additions on his device. Messing around with the controls a bit before finally testing it out. Dr. Hedo, standing nearby continues with his speech.

“I know Dr. Bulma said you only needed me to improve the precision of the telescope so that you can get clearer images of space. However, with Gamma 1’s help, I was able to easily do more and added a sophisticated AI. With this AI, the telescope will be able to identify things ranging from planets, asteroids, and even debris down to the very molecule. You’ll be able to get more data with just the telescope alone now.”

“My my you are correct, it’s identifying the names of the known stars and planets and everything. I’m sure this will come in handy for many future projects.” Dr. Briefs continues to mess with the telescope to look further into the void of space. After moving past several stars and planets, he stops when it detects an unknown object flying by. Hm? Is it an asteroid? but the telescope isn't identifying it as such.

“Hey, Dr. Hedo you said this telescope can identify any objects down to the molecules correct?”

“Why yes Dr. Briefs.”

“Well, could there be a margin of error? I’m seeing something that appears to be an asteroid, but the telescope is coming up with no information about it.”

“What?" Dr. Hedo was surprised. "That’s next to impossible. I’m sure I had every known planet, element, and molecule recorded. Unless it’s something undiscovered? Let me see too!”

Before Hedo could get a chance to look through the telescope, his comm rings. The screen reveals Gamma 1.

[Dr. Hedo! Dr. Briefs! I have detected an unidentified flying object heading towards your location. You must evacuate the area immediately!]

“What!? How much time do we have?”

[I estimate you have less than 5 minutes! Hurry!] The comm cuts off.

"Wait! What unidentified flying object? is it another alien?" not getting a response, Dr. Hedo immediately gets up,” Dr. Briefs we have to leave!”

“Hold on now Dr. Hedo, I’m still trying to figure out what that object is. If only it would stop moving so much. It’s difficult to-oh there we go. Strange, now it appears to be getting bigger.”

Upon hearing Dr. Briefs make such a statement, Dr. Hedo looks out the window. Indeed he can see something flying closer and closer toward Capsule Corp.

“You’re kidding me! It’s already here! Dr. Briefs, please focus on getting to safety first!” Dr. Hedo yelled out, pulling the older scientist away from the telescope.

A few minutes later, the unidentified object had fallen straight into the lab, and Gamma 1 barely made it in time to get all the workers away from the area as the entire lab got blasted, smoke filling the screen.

The recording ends, revealing that it was filmed by Dr. Hedo, showing everything that had happened the minutes before Bulma and the others have arrived at the scene. Piccolo, Krillin, Trunks, and Goten look at the damages. Much of the lab equipment is damaged beyond repair. Seeing this, Bulma is full-on seething, turning her head between the Lab and Hedo's recording.

“Okay, I can ignore how you managed to make a recording for places that shouldn’t have cameras. But you're telling me the lab is destroyed because of that!?” Bulma yelled, furiously pointing at the staff Gamma 1 is holding.

Dr. Hedo nods at this. “It appears to be a staff of some kind. But when scanned, nothing comes up on what it’s made of. Whatever the material is, it was able to withstand falling through Earth’s atmosphere without even a scratch!" Dr. Hedo said, excited. "If we can procure more of such material, imagine what we can make, I could even create an indestructible android!”

“Oh, I know who it belongs to." Bulma said, snatching the staff away from Gamma 1. "I can’t believe Whis would just destroy my lab after I already repaired it once! I already said I wouldn’t try to make another Time Machine.” Bulma is still angry. Dr. Hedo on the other hand was curious about if he heard her right that her lab was destroyed before because she tried to build a Time Machine.

Not wanting to hear Bulma go on about the cost of replacing everything in the lab, Piccolo decides to put everyone's attention back on the staff. “The damages have already been done. Anyways, shouldn’t we be more focused on returning the staff to Whis? I’ve never seen him without it. Who knows if he will be able to bring Goku and Vegeta back if he doesn't have it.”

Bulma realizes his point but then realizes another issue.

“But if his staff is here, will it be possible to still call him? He answers the calls using his staff after all.”

That is true, Piccolo thought, thinking of another way to contact the Angel before recalling something. “Hand me the staff. Dende is capable of sensing God ki. I’m sure if he has the staff he can use it to contact Whis for us.”

“Whoa, God ki? Does such a thing exist? Sounds impressive.” Dr. Hedo said. The things that these warriors can do with their ki alone amazed him every day. To think they can even raise it to God level. Gamma 1 nodded in agreement, slightly wishing that he could see what God ki can do in comparison to what he's previously recorded about ki.

"Do you think Dende will really be able to call Whis?" Bulma asks handing the staff to Piccolo.

"Its worth a try."

Holding the staff in his hand, the surface felt slightly cold to the touch. Piccolo was about to take off to the Lookout when suddenly the staff emitted a pulse.

“Where…”

?…what? what was that?

Piccolo, what’s the matter? Krillin was looking at Piccolo with concern. The Namekian was planning to deliver the staff to Dende right? Why did he suddenly stop and stare off into space like that?

“I heard something.” Piccolo said. Looking around.

"Hear what? I didn't hear anything." Krillin answered, confused.

“My Lord…” There it is again! Piccolo, looks down at the staff in his hand, believing it to be the source of the voice. The pulsing becomes stronger, to the point, he can see the staff now shaking in his grip.

“I found you…” the staff emits a blinding light, prompting everyone to cover their eyes. The area quickly getting covered. A few seconds passed and the light faded and everyone checked themselves. It seems they are unharmed.

(So it wasn’t an explosion, thank goodness.) Krillin thought. Looking back at Piccolo who was holding the staff, everyone paused. The staff, which was formerly in Piccolo’s hand, is now being held by someone else. An Angel? But he doesn’t appear to be Whis.

The male stares intently at Piccolo, his eyes unblinking and expression not showing any hints of their thoughts. To Piccolo, this stare felt like it was looking deep into his very soul, making him rather awkward and suffocated.

“It’s you…” the voice, barely louder than a whisper, broke the silence, and before Piccolo could react he was suddenly pulled into a tight embrace, shocking everyone with the Angel’s bold move. Bulma was the first to react.

“H-hey! Shouldn’t you give people a warning before hugging them like that? Also, you're the reason my lab is a mess, aren’t you!? You better help fix the damages! There was a lot of important work in there that got destroyed thanks to you!”

The Angel seems to ignore Bulma. Too busy keeping his arms around Piccolo, who was trying to pull himself away while wearing an uncomfortable expression on his face. Advocaat takes notice of this and assumes that Bulma’s loud voice must be disturbing his Lord.

“It’s far too noisy here. I’ll find somewhere else more to your liking, my Lord.”

“Wha-“ In a flash, the staff glows brightly once more. And the strange Angel, along with Piccolo, both disappeared.

Notes:

Advocaat, a alcoholic beverage made using eggs, milk, and sugar. Making the taste similar to custard.

Chapter 3: I don’t know you!

Summary:

Piccolo finds himself in an unfamiliar garden and the Angel is still with him. He seems oddly intimate with him.

Chapter Text

Become my God of Destruction…

Are you serious?…

Of course I am…

……

“Steady…the dizziness…go away soon.”

“Ugh…” Piccolo groaned, holding his head waiting for the headache to go away. His vision is filled with the afterimages of several worlds. It was similar to when Whis would transport him and the others to the Tournament of Power. But without the cube to protect them from the backlash of traveling beyond the speed of sound, Piccolo ended up experiencing every cons of space travel in under a minute. Surprised being deprived of oxygen wasn't one of them.

When his vision finally cleared he finds himself in what appears to be a garden. Laying under a large tree and surrounded by flowers akin to hydrangeas. Under the light that broke through the branches, Piccolo can see his captor holding him. The Angel in front of him resembled Whis but had his hair tied in a high ponytail. His face appears devoid of expressions and didn't wear lipstick. His outfit is the standard Angel robe with a creamy yellow color. The symbols on his robe don't seem to hold any of the same shapes as the other Angels, consisting of semi-circles rather than the usual circles, triangles, and diamonds.

Hold on…is that a Namekian symbol on his robe?

“See? All better now.” the Angel spoke. His voice quiet and flat in tone. “You handled that quite well. As expected of my Lord.”

He held the Namekian gently, keeping his body straight on the ground and his head cushioned by his hand. He was being very careful as if any wrong movement could break the man below him. This confuses Piccolo, who pulls himself away from his hold, not understanding how this guy can act all concerned after kidnapping someone.

“You, who are you?” Piccolo said, eyeing his captor suspiciously.

The young man before him simply stared at him blankly, tilting his head slightly as if not understanding the question.

“I don't know what orders you were given that would require you to pull me away from my home without my consent, but I would have preferred being informed beforehand.”

Angels normally wouldn't interfere in the lives of mortals unless ordered to by someone above them. The fact this one decided to barge in out of nowhere and even captured him, who knows what orders he was given that allowed such behavior. Could the Gods be planning something big? Piccolo may not sense hostility from this man, but it wouldn't be the first time the Angels had a grand plan and left the mortals in the dark about it. Including him.

The last plan literally had 11 universes erased for a test to see if the final universe was worthy after all, so he has to be ready for anything.

“No one ordered me,” the Angel finally answered. Trying to move closer toward Piccolo. “I came specifically to find you, my Lord.”

The Namekian stops him at arm's length, annoyance visible on his face.

“Why do you keep calling me that? I don't recall ever being the Lord of anyone. And this is the first time I ever met you so I highly doubt I have any sort of relations with you."

“No, you are my Lord." The Angel insisted. "I can't be mistaken. I sensed a familiar power emanating from within you.”

Familiar power?

“It was what woke me from slumber. I'm confident you are the one. The one I've been waiting for so long."

The Angel is pushing to get closer to Piccolo again despite the arm keeping him in place. The Namekian is struggling to keep this guy under control.

“Hold on, just because you sensed a familiar power from me doesn't guarantee I'm this Lord you're looking for. I don't even know-” Piccolo was stopped from finishing his sentence when the face of the Angel was now uncomfortably close to his. Their noses practically touching.

“That's fine, we have plenty of time to get to know each other again.”

"..."

With their faces so close together, Piccolo finds it almost creepy how flat this guy’s expression and voice stayed saying all that. The Angel refused to budge, stubbornly keeping himself close, practically entangling their limbs together as the Namekian finds himself pushed against the trunk of the tree. Trapping him in place with the Angel above him. His face turned serious, looking down at the Namekian still trapped by him.

“You're still not convinced? Then let me show you.” Before Piccolo could ask what he meant, the Angel suddenly grabs at Piccolo’s cape.

Piccolo was unable to stop him in time, and the next thing he knew, his cape was removed and the back of his gi lifted.

“Hey! What do you think you’re do-”

Piccolo was spun around. His front now facing the tree as the man before him continues to grab at his clothes.

“Strange. Where is it?”

“Wha?”

The Angel stroked Piccolo’s back, a slight look of confusion managing to break onto his flat face. “Your mark. Your symbol. It should be here.”

Mark? Symbol? What is this guy talking about?

“Maybe it’s on another body part? I’ll look right away.” Without warning, he pulled off the rest of the gi to look at Piccolo’s chest, and when he didn’t find what he was looking for, proceeded to pull at Piccolo’s obi and pants.

Piccolo was mortified.

“Hey! Don’t you think you’re going too far!?” Piccolo scolded, trying to push the man away. “First you kidnapped me and now you're trying to take all my clothes!? What kind of Angel are you? And you STILL haven’t given me a name!”

The Angel paused at that moment as if realizing his actions for the first time. Taking this moment of distraction, Piccolo finally manages to push him off and free himself. Despite having been pushed to the ground, the Angel barely flinches, sitting up before speaking.

“Advocaat. My name is Advocaat. I come from Universe 13.”

“Universe 13?” Isn’t that one of the six universes destroyed before the Tournament of Power was held? How could it exist again? Unless…Seventeen’s wish didn’t just include the universes that participated?

“I realize I may have come on rather strongly towards you my Lord. I’ll…do my best to restrain myself.”

He’s avoiding eye contact, almost guilty looking. And his hands are clutching onto Piccolo’s gi that he had removed earlier. It doesn’t look like he’s willing to let go of it either, Piccolo isn’t getting that back.

“As long as you understand what you did wrong. Then I’m not mad.” Advocaat appears to perk up a bit. Turning his gaze back towards Piccolo who stood up from the ground.

“You're not? Then could I help with dressing you?”

“No need, I can just make a new one.”

“I know that. But, I still want to make up for my earlier behavior. so let me do this, my Lord.”

The Angel was speaking all politely, but Piccolo looked at him with a ‘are you serious?’ look. That was not a suggestion. This guy is demanding he dress him. Despite his prim and proper appearance, his actions don't match at all! not even the friendlier Angels were this in your face.

Piccolo immediately refused, already not having a good impression of this guy. But the man proceeds to look at the ground all pitiful, like a child who got in trouble for stealing cookies and is being punished for it. Wait? What kind of comparison is that? This guy is nothing like an innocent child.

Clearing his throat, Piccolo calms himself before speaking again.

“After this, I want you to bring me home.”

“Of course.”

"And you better not do anything strange on the way. My day has already been disrupted thanks to you."

This makes Advocaat droop even further, his front bangs looking limp as if they are feelers showing his feelings of disappointment instead of letting his face do the work.
Piccolo proceeded to re-tie his obi. After that was done he moved on to form a new gi top for himself. Before he could even form a new gi, the garden shakes a bit and a bright light filled the space.

Covering his eyes, Piccolo immediately felt this situation to be quite similar to when Advocaat had first shown up and drenched the area in light, and no sooner was his thought confirmed when he sees the silhouette of a familiar figure appearing before him. Their high pitched voice breaking the silence.

“Oh my, I didn’t expect this to be what greets us.” It was Whis, staring at a half-dressed Piccolo while Advocaat sits nearby holding onto his clothes. And with Whis is Beerus and some of Piccolo’s friends.

Chapter 4: Play Along

Summary:

With the others finding Piccolo, things should be able to go back to normal now. Right?

Notes:

I really miss writing my fics. I apologize for the extremely slow updates everyone.

Chapter Text

The silence that hung in the air was extremely awkward. Advocaat is still sitting on the ground, his person covered in leaves from being pushed back by Piccolo while clutching a part of a gi. And with a half naked Piccolo standing above him. Still surprised by Whis’ sudden appearance, a familiar voice breaks the silence.

“Hey, Piccolo! We’re here to save you!” Goku proceeded to jump out from behind Whis, Vegeta following close by as both get into a fighting pose.

“Bulma said you were in trouble. Now, where’s the bad guy?”

Goku appeared to be excited and ready to take on whoever dared come to Earth and mess with his friends. Soon his expression was replaced by confusion when he took a closer look at Piccolo and Advocaat.

“Wait, hold on, you seem perfectly fine. Did you already beat the guy and he ran off?”

“If you’re asking about the one responsible for this mess then no. He’s still here.” Piccolo said, materializing a new gi for himself as he pointed out Advocaat. Said Angel still holding onto the old gi top.

Goku was surprised, not expecting that the quiet and delicate looking Angel was the bad guy responsible for destroying Capsule Corp lab and kidnapping Piccolo. Neither could Vegeta. Bulma on the other hand, recognized him immediately and started angrily shouting.

“That’s him, that’s the guy who turned my lab into a complete mess!”

“Whaaat? That can’t be right.” Goku said, still unconvinced. “What reason could he have to do such a thing? I mean all the destroying is supposed to be done by God of Destructions right?”

This remark seems to further anger Bulma, proceeding to shove video evidence from Hedo into Goku’s face.

On the other hand, Whis looks unsurprised, keeping his usual smile, with slight amusement on his face. “Advocaat, what a surprise. I didn’t expect to see you awake. Last I checked, Universe 13 was restored around a year ago. I figured you would sleep a bit longer.”

“…”

“Well that obviously isn’t the case here now is it?” Beerus interjected. “You there, what do you have to say for yourself? Stealing one of my fighters and bringing him here.”

“…”

Advocaat continued to stay silent. The act annoys Beerus as his large ears twitched.

“Not talking huh?” I see you're the troublemaking type. Would you prefer I destroy you instead for daring to ignore the questions of a God of Destruction?”

This was stopped by Whis, who grabs a hold of Beerus’s hand to put it back down, a smile still on his face.

“Now now Lord Beerus, don’t take Advocaat’s behavior to heart. He’s always been this way, and often brings trouble to himself for it.” Whis said before walking towards the silent Angel.

“Even after sleeping for centuries you decide to keep such bad habits. What would the Grand Priest say?”

“…”

“Still nothing? Hm. Since it has been a while I suppose this is to be ex-“

“Which brother are you again?”

And Whis finally felt annoyed.

“Did sleeping for so long slow down his brain? He even forgot his own brother. How hurtful.” Whis said, wiping an imaginary tear from his face as Advocaat stood next to him, more focused on picking leaves off himself than his brother being all dramatic.

“Like you said, it's been centuries. I even found myself having to remember how to use my powers. Otherwise I would have found My Lord the moment I woke up.”

“Your Lord?” Whis looked surprised for a moment before following Advocaat’s gaze towards Piccolo.

Piccolo, who is now talking with his friends, stiffens a bit upon sensing eyes on him. Advocaat catches this movement from the Namek, his flat expression changing ever so slightly to that of worry.

Seeing this, a smile returns to Whis’ face.

“Ah so this is what it was. Why didn't you say so? If you have informed me of your reasons for visiting I could have helped you find him sooner.”

“Huh?” Beerus looked at Whis, confusion written all over his face. Is Whis…encouraging this guy?

Whis’s encouragement does not go unnoticed by Piccolo, whose sensitive ears picked up much of the conversation.

“Piccolo, are you alright? Your vital signs went up for a second.” Gamma 1 asked, looking at Piccolo’s minuscule change in demeanor with his scanners.

“I’m fine.” Piccolo quickly answered. Still thinking about what Whis had said. Just what is he doing supporting Advocaat? Is he getting some sort of strange amusement from another of his kind harassing a mortal?

He didn’t wonder for long, seeing the two Angels and one God of Destruction now heading back to the main group. Advocaat quickly taking his place standing next to Piccolo.

Whis broke the silence first.

“Everyone, this is Advocaat. He’s come from Universe 13 and will be staying for a while. Now I know you're all skeptical of him from his earlier actions, but I assure you he’s quite easy to manage. So give him a warm welcome and show him the sights on Earth to his heart’s content. Piccolo, I believe I can trust you to be his host?”

“WHAT!?”

“Now hold on!” Krillin argued. “Even if he’s ’easy to manage,’ he still destroyed a building without any prior provocation!” Everyone else also agreed, looking at Whis like he was crazy. Once again Whis looked ‘hurt’.

“Now don’t be that way everyone. I promise he will behave himself during his stay. Won’t you now, Advocaat?”

This question prompts a nod from the quiet Angel.

“As long as I’m with my Lord, I’m content.”

“See? Now let’s not waste any more time. Earth is waiting.”

“Exactly!” Beerus cuts in. Sharply turning his head towards Bulma. “I didn’t get to eat anything on Earth yet because Bulma insisted we help her solve this situation first. You better make sure to get us something tasty if you want to make up for making demands out of me.”

Bulma was scared by the threat. Quickly promising Beerus that she’s got a meal worth waiting for by the time they get back to Earth. Piccolo on the other hand finds himself awkwardly standing next to Advocaat, who has been standing close to him ever since he finished his conversation with Whis. Feeling the silent Angel watching him closely the entire time. Of course, Advocaat picks up on this discomfort.

“I apologize that I couldn’t make you a more comfortable atmosphere, my Lord. I didn’t expect that these people would get help and follow us here.”

(No, they are not the ones responsible for my discomfort right now.)

Preparing the Cube for transport back to Earth, everyone walked in. Before Piccolo could step into the cube however, he was stopped by Whis, who wore a serious expression and pulled Piccolo close to whisper in his ear.

“Now Piccolo, I’m going to need you to be a good host alright? Just long enough till Advocaat is satisfied.”

Piccolo tightens his lips.

“And why exactly are you giving him permission to do as he wishes? From what he told me, no one ordered him to do anything. Yet he had the guts to do what he did.”

“That’s why YOU must make sure he doesn’t do anything. Advocaat is a strange one. Every couple of centuries he would become…attached to a Namek.”

This surprised Piccolo. Attached to a Namek? Seeing that Piccolo is paying close attention, Whis continues.

“Yes, and when he’s like that, he would stubbornly keep himself close to them. Whether they are working, relaxing or fighting, he would make sure to stay close and fulfill all their needs. But don’t worry, once he gets bored he will move on and the individual will be able to return to their normal lives.”

“I don’t understand, why get seemingly random interests in serving a Namek in particular? Shouldn’t he be doing all this for his God of Destruction?”

“That is not for me to say.” Whis replied, pulling away from Piccolo and resuming his cheerful appearance.

“Well, it doesn’t matter as long as you understand your role. Just play along with Advocaat’s game, and everything will be back to normal in no time.”

Grunting a bit, Piccolo decides to agree with Whis’, stepping into the cube and waiting to head back home with the others.

And of course upon entering, he spots Advocaat inside waiting for him, said Angel walking towards him.

“You will be heading back home now, my Lord. As promised.” Piccolo nods in reply, finding an empty space to stand and get some quiet, Advocaat following close by.

The ride back home felt longer than usual, and Piccolo finds himself unsure how to act around the Angel standing next to him. Whis had told him to ‘play along’ till he was satisfied, but how is he suppose to act for this person to be satisfied?

Deep in his thoughts, Piccolo almost failed to catch when Advocaat spoke to him.

“My Lord, I must apologize again for my earlier actions. It was not my intention to treat you so rudely.”

“I already said I wasn’t angry. No need to hold onto that.”

“Still, I want to make another attempt at a first impression.” Advocaat explained, turning himself to fully face Piccolo. Placing a hand over his chest in greeting.

“My name is Advocaat. I come from Universe 13 and have waited to meet you for a long time. And I humbly request to be accepted as your attendant.”

Chapter Text

I know you're there. Don’t bother trying to be sneaky…

...Have you agreed to my offer?

Still asking that? You won't even let this off on a holiday...

What is the point of staying here…I’m being quite generous you know?

…..

“My Lord…wake up.”

“Hng?...”

Opening his heavy lids, the light floods in, slowly waking Piccolo from his sleep. Before him stood Advocaat, looking at him with his usual stiff expression as Piccolo sat up in his bed. The Namek appears to be still tired, even raising a hand to wipe the sleep off his face and clear his muddled mind, the act managing to make Advocaat feel a hint of delight as his eyes squinted ever so slightly.

Remembering his reason for disturbing the Namek from his sleep, he spoke.

“I've prepared your meal. Be sure to come eat while it's still warm.”

“What?...meal?” Piccolo, still confused from sleep, looks over at Advocaat, his vision and mind clear, he finally registers the oddity within the room. “!?!?”

Why is Advocaat in his house!? Last he remembered he rejected his request of becoming his attendant. Why is it that he…hold on. There was more.

Thinking back to yesterday, he did indeed reject Advocaat. But because Whis gave him the task of being the new Angel’s host during his stay on Earth, he ended up following him home anyway. He must have been more exhausted than he realized after the whole kidnapping incident, managing to fall asleep not long after hitting his bed.

“My Lord, why aren’t you saying anything?” Advocaat asks, grabbing a hold of Piccolo’s arm to pull him up from the bed. “Your food will get cold at this rate. Let me bring you down”

“Hold on,” Piccolo said, attempting to get the Angel to let go, said attempt unsuccessful as he was pulled downstairs.

Downstairs, his nose was met with the smell of food, eyes spotting a new table in his home with several dishes set. Sitting the Namek down in his seat, Advocaat pulled out the utensils and napkins before pulling up a chair and sitting opposite of the Namek.

“Let me know if there is anything you’re not satisfied with, my Lord. I can make something else immediately.” Saying this, Advocaat picks up his own bowl of soup, taking a sip.

Piccolo looked at the dishes more closely. The soup before him was a light color, with many green peas and sliced carrots floating on the surface as a pleasant smell filled his nostrils. The dishes before him also included a bowl of rice, shredded carrots that's been stir-fried, mashed potatoes with peas, pickled carrots, a salad that appeared to have more carrots and peas, garlic roasted carrots, dried salted peas, and besides the dishes are two glasses, one holding carrot juice, and the other a green, puree like substance…

He sensed a theme with all the dishes here.

Seeing the Namek still not touching his food, Advocaat stopped to ask, “Is something not to your liking, My Lord? Perhaps you would prefer a pasta dish instead? Or maybe more in the mood for desserts?”

“No, the dishes appear good." Piccolo replied after a shake of his head, "I was just noticing something.”

This comment piques Advocaat's interest, “What would that be?”

Piccolo wanted to comment that it looked like Advocaat's dishes were so full of carrots and peas that not even Goten would eat them, no matter how good they smell. He stops himself, remembering that Advocaat is here on Earth as a guest while he is the host. The fact the Angel before him cooked the dishes and even invited him to eat them is already more welcoming than the way Piccolo woke up to him today. To judge the Angel's possible carrot and peas obsession would be ignoring his effort.

“It’s nothing, go back to eating.” Finally picking up his spoon, Piccolo started tasting the dishes before him.

Advocaat watches this, silent but obedient, as he returns to eating. His eyes stayed on Piccolo.

The cooking wasn't the end of it. After the two finished eating, Advocaat took care of cleaning up, cleaning not only the dishes but also dusting and sweeping the house. Piccolo also finds his bed all neat and tidy and penenko plushes organized, not remembering when the Angel could have gone into his room to do so. And while the Angel wasn't busy doing all that, Piccolo finds him simply standing outside, staring at the surrounding nature, particularly the nearby waterfall.

It was rather considerate of Advocaat to do all this for him, and he did know to keep to himself to leave Piccolo plenty of time to meditate. However, after three days of this, Advocaat never changed anything from his routine.

Wake Piccolo up, prepare the meals(most likely with carrots or peas.), clean the house, spend his spare time observing nature, and wishing Piccolo goodnight. Each day and night the same.

Having just finished dinner, Advocaat is doing the dishes as Piccolo watches him and thought, (Isn't he bored by now?)

Whis said that once Advocaat has enough, he would just leave on his own accord. But with him taking care of everything in the house, Piccolo finds himself not only meditating more but also sleeping more, sometimes even during his meditations. Has the Angel's presence started making him lazy? If he stays here any longer, who knows what risk that will pose to Piccolo's discipline. So, he decided he must find things for Advocaat to do that's away from his home.

"Advocaat."

The call of his name caught the Angel's attention immediately. Turning his attention towards His Lord.

"Yes, My Lord?"

"These past days you've been staying in my home and taking care of the house chores. Don't you want to do anything else? you can go into the city-"

"No. I am happy to just stay here and serve you, My Lord. However, if you wish to go into the city, I am more than happy to come along."

Okay, that wasn't part of the plan.

"Advocaat, what I mean is you are on Earth as a guest. During your time here it wouldn't be very productive to spend all of it on me."

"...."

"Advocaat?"

"Did I do something to displease you, My Lord?"

"Huh?"

Before Piccolo could answer, Advocaat suddenly reached over, grabbed a hold of his arms, and made eye contact with him. At that moment Piccolo could swear he saw anger burning in them.

“Is it the food? if my Lord is displeased, I can change them according to your taste.”

"No, that's not-," but Advocaat tightens his grip and continues.

"Or perhaps you do not wish for me to rearrange your items? I'll put them back exactly where I found them." Even tighter. Piccolo tries to loosen it.

"I'm just saying you could be going out there to enjoy the sights and food? After all, Whis does that all the time, why waste all your time cooking and cleaning up after me?"

This comment does not loosen Advocaat’s grip, who is now practically pushing himself against Piccolo, his gaze intense as he stared at the trapped Namek. “My brother’s interests have nothing to do with me! My only wish is to serve my Lord.” The grip tightened again, enough that it made Piccolo wince.

Only then did Advocaat pause, noticing his hand was leaving a bruise, quickly letting go. His expression stayed the same, but the intense look from before is now gone.

"My Lord, I hurt you..."

The bruise wasn't bad. What Piccolo's more worried about now was Advocaat. He had become aware of the Angel’s strong need to be close to him. From the moment he first took him to another universe, to sharing the same table and house. Even when not within the same space as Piccolo, he was no further than a short flight away. He never considered the possibility that the Angel would hurt him, even unintentionally from just the suggestion he should do something away from him.

Piccolo sees Advocaat reach for him again, however instead of grabbing at Piccolo’s arms, he held his hands gently, pulling them closer to himself and resting them around a slender neck…

“?”

“My Lord, if you are angry, you can do as you wish to me. I won’t resist, nor do you need to worry about bruises. Let out your anger.”

“!?!?!”

Pulling away, Piccolo looks at him, unsettled.

“What are you suggesting?” Piccolo may not be able to read Advocaat’s mind. But at that moment, it sounded like the he was offering to be strangled. And ‘do as you wish’? Was there more he was suggesting?

Advocaat simply watches Piccolo. Confusion on his face. “Are you not upset? You suggested such a thing because I didn’t meet expectations, didn’t you? I even hurt you.”

Remembering his actions, Advocaat’s side bangs droop once more, turning his gaze away from Piccolo.

“Even if I was upset, I wouldn’t have considered strangling you to be the next thing to do.” Sighing, Piccolo walks over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to comfort. “Don’t suggest such a thing again. And if you don’t want to explore the city, that’s your decision. I just wanted you to know you don’t need to stay in these mountains.”

“...I’ll take My Lord’s suggestion into consideration.”

The Angel appears still a bit down for his earlier actions. Well, At least in the end, Piccolo’s plan did end up with the results he was hoping for. With the situation resolved, he started to feel tired. When Advocaat starts visiting the city, he needs to get back in shape.

Chapter 6: The Test pt1

Summary:

While doing her shopping, Bulma stumbles upon Advocaat and discovers how deep his devotion towards Piccolo goes.

Chapter Text

“Haaaaah. It’s so hot today…” Walking down the streets of West City, Bulma is seen carrying a bunch of shopping bags as she drags herself through the unforgiving glare of the sun. Today the traffic is rather bad, with the sound of impatient honks coming from those who wish to go home and escape the heat as soon as possible. This traffic was why Bulma decided to go shopping on foot today rather than by car. A choice that she’s heavily regretting.

“If only Vegeta or Trunks were here.” She griped. “Either one of them could carry all the bags and I would’ve been able to stop by every mall in the city in no time.”

Unfortunately, her husband as usual has to go visit Beerus’ planet to train with Goku, while Trunks has to stay home to keep an eye on Bulla. sounding more like an excuse than anything else considering they have nanny bots. “Ugh, why does both of them think they can just be unavailable every time I want to go shopping!?.”

Worn down by the heat, Bulma decided she must visit a nice, air-conditioned cafe if she wants to recover enough strength to continue with her shopping.

So starting the journey to the closest cafe she could think of, leading her to walk past a city park. This park in particular sports a large fountain, which attracts many kids to come play as they also hope to escape the scorching heat. This wasn’t an unusual sight for Bulma as she continued to walk past the park, with the air conditioning cafe being her goal. However, from the corner of her eyes, she spots a familiar figure donning Angel robes, prompting her to stop dead in her tracks and turn her sight back towards the park, surprised.

There she sees him, Advocaat standing in front of the fountain, staring deeply into the water and the many, shiny coins in it. He was standing so still that if one weren’t paying attention, he could have been mistaken for a statue.

What is he doing out in the city?

For the past half a week she has not seen or even heard news of him. Frankly, she forgot he was even staying on Earth. Seeing him now, she was reminded of all the damages he’s brought to her lab when he first appeared, the cost of replacing everything wasn’t too difficult. But having to restore all the lost work from the remains was enough to get her blood boiling again.

At that moment, Advocaat senses someone’s gaze on him, turning to spot Bulma in the distance, her look of anger turning into surprise at having been caught glaring.

Upon making eye contact, Advocaat and Bulma simply stared at each other. The moment quickly became awkward before Bulma started to panic.

(Ahhhh. Did he notice me glaring at him earlier? Should I say something? But I don’t feel like starting small talk with this guy. But I can’t just sneak away now that he’s seen me…I can't let this awkward silence continue either. I should start with something simple.)

“Soooo. Advocaat right? when did you decide to give the city a visit?”

“…”

(He’s not saying anything. Crap! He really did notice me glaring! I should do something fast before he decides to wreck my stuff again.)

“Hey look. About before-“

“Who are you again?”

“…Are you kidding me!?”

“Here is your iced coffee, Miss.”

“Yes, thank you.”

The cool air conditioning was exactly what Bulma needed as she picked up her cold drink to take a sip, feeling much better having escaped the scorching heat and sitting in a comfy chair. But she now finds herself in a strange situation.

Advocaat sat across from her, staring at his drink expressionlessly. Despite his rudeness of not even remembering who she was, she still tried to be polite to him by inviting him for a drink at the cafe. When it was obvious he had no idea what to pick on the menu, she opted to help him choose one of the more popular drinks.

But now, she has no idea what to do as Advocaat stays quiet. Not even giving her a glance as his focus is completely on judging this new drink before him.

Honestly, it feels wrong that she’s being this nice to him.

“I came to the city this morning.”

“Huh?” Bulma was taken aback that Advocaat finally chose to break the silence. At first confused before realizing he was answering a question she asked an hour ago.

“R-really?” Bulma inquired. “Did you come to do something new during your stay? Considering I never saw you visiting before.”

This question prompted a nod from Advocaat before replying. “My Lord suggested it. He said I needed to be more productive.”

Upon saying this, Advocaat’s front bangs proceeded to droop a little, “But ever since I came to the city, I haven’t done anything worthy of praise. I wonder if he’ll be disappointed if I don’t have much to show when I get back.”

Disappointed? Praise? What? Is he on vacation or on a mission right now? Advocaat’s expression never changed as he spoke, but Bulma swears he is giving off kicked puppy vibes right now as if he has done something wrong and wants to make up for it.

“Why exactly would disappointing Piccolo matter so much to you?” Bulma asked. “You only met him not too long ago, right? So why the need to impress?”

“You’re mistaken, he is the one I’ve been waiting for for so long. And it’s important that I make him happy now that we have crossed paths. That is my one reason for continuing to wait all this time.”

Wait all this time?

“Hold on,” Bulma interjected, curious. “You mean you’ve been waiting for Piccolo all this time? Exactly how long have you been waiting?”

“Since before Universe 13’s erasure.”

Since before Universe 13’s erasure, which was likely several million years before now. And certainly way before Piccolo was born…to specifically wait even after the destruction of a universe…

“…,” oh…Bulma sees what’s going on now. Advocaat is a lovesick puppy.

It all makes sense, the first thing he did upon coming to Earth(other than destroying her lab) was to embrace Piccolo as if seeing an old lover. And when he took Piccolo away, they followed them only to stumble upon a half-dressed Piccolo and the Angel clutching onto the missing gi.

Even after getting Piccolo back, Advocaat refused to be separated from him the entire time, in fact, Whis even allowed him to be under Piccolo’s care during his stay on Earth as if Whis knew about Advocaat’s feelings…okay, this sounds straight out of some fantasy romance story she’s read as a little girl, and now Bulma can’t help but imagine Advocaat and Piccolo as the main characters in such stories.

Is she currently witnessing a star-crossed love story before her?

She hasn’t figured out how Advocaat knew to wait specifically for Piccolo. Perhaps it was some secret Angel technique that allowed them to know who their soulmate is? Or an unexplained phenomenon yet to be used for any love stories? She’s GOTTA ask Whis more about this juicy, hidden lore when she gets the chance. This thought was interrupted as Advocaat got up from his seat, his cup now empty.

“Thank you for the drink. However, I felt it was rather lacking for one of the shop’s popular options.”

“Well, maybe you just haven’t learned to appreciate coffee.” Bulma quipped. “What are you going to do now?”

Advocaat paused for a moment. Thinking before answering, “I will continue my exploration of the city. I can’t go back to my Lord with nothing.”

Saying this, Bulma suddenly thought of a wicked idea. One that would solve all her problems.

“Say, why don’t you explore the city with me? I know plenty of good places that you can visit. Not only that, you’ll get a chance to find plenty of things to bring back to Piccolo to show you’ve done as he asked.”

This piques Advocaat’s interest, his bangs going back to their original position.

“Really? Do show me.”

Shopping spree, here she comes.

Chapter 7: The Test pt2

Summary:

The shopping spree begins…will it be enough to prove Advocaat’s worth?

Chapter Text

“Advocaat, hold these bags will you?”

“Hold these boxes too.”

“Ooh! Carry these as well!”

“...”

It’s barely been an hour since they left that cafe, and Bulma has already managed to get Advocaat to assist her in carrying the bags and boxes from several malls. The amount enough to bury Bulma if she were to carry them herself. Yet despite already getting so much stuff, Bulma still isn’t done as she continues to happily run along and shopped to her heart's content

As she purchased more items, Advocaat looks at the bags and boxes within his grip, feeling doubtful that this can possibly be the productive behavior that his Lord expects of him. If he recalls correctly, his Lord should be capable of creating his own clothes with magic. And if necessary, Advocaat himself can make some for him at far better quality than whatever the blue-haired lady is getting from these malls. Isn’t she just wasting his time even more?

“Miss…Bloomers?” Advocaat hesitantly called out.

Bulma, who is getting some items boxed, looked at him with slight annoyance.

“It's Bulma.” She corrected.

“Bulma,” he repeated. “We have already gone to several of these malls. How exactly is any of this shopping considered productive? In case you aren’t aware, clothing is not an issue for my Lord.”

Bulma smirks, an excuse already on hand. “Oh? Don’t you know?” She questioned. “Shopping is an essential skill where one needs to have the patience and grit to get through the long days of walking all the while hunting for the best items before anyone else. Won’t you consider any activities needing such skills to be productive?”

“…”

“Hm? Are you not convinced? Well that won’t do. Piccolo will definitely need someone who has such skills to ease some of his load.”

This sentence manage to grab the Angel’s attention.

“Ease his load?” He asked, fully focused. Bulma smirks, ready to wring him in.

“Yep! Piccolo occasionally helps out Chi-chi and Videl with their shopping because he knows how tough it is for them to do it themselves. So he offers his skills to ease their load while in turn putting the stress on himself. Someone, as you said ‘clothing is not an issue’, but does it anyway for others.” Bulma explained. “But!” She continues, “Shopping can be considered the minimum. If you can’t even handle a little shopping, who’s to say you have the capability to handle larger loads for Piccolo if the time comes? You’ll pretty much be useless.”

"...!”

Huh, that reaction is a good sign(hopefully).

“Look, think of this as your test on how worthy you are of being with Piccolo. If you can’t keep up with him with even the most mundane tasks, then you might as well give up on hi-“

Before Bulma could finish her sentence, she felt the weight of the bags and boxes in her arms disappear. Looking towards Advocaat, she sees him carefully placing them onto the already large pile he has on his person.

Making sure that the bags are held firmly in his hands and the boxes steady, Advocaat returns his gaze onto Bulma. “If this is truly something I can do to ease my Lord’s load, then I shall complete the task without question.” He said, conviction in his voice.

Not expecting him to take her explanation that seriously, Bulma couldn’t tell if Advocaat was that in love with Piccolo, or just stupid. Or even both, but he definitely looks more determined to prove himself to be capable of meeting Piccolo’s expectations, that’s rather sweet.

As Advocaat looks over the items for a moment, he proceeds to look at the nearby shoes being displayed. Careful not to drop anything, he picks out a pair of red heels before looking back at Bulma.

“Would you like to purchase these as well Miss Boomer?”

Crack

“It’s Bulma!”

Meanwhile with Piccolo

Breathe in…and out…

Repeat…

Piccolo has become fully one with his surroundings. His mind clear of all distractions as he feels his ki move throughout his body and putting him in a complete state of focus. A state of tranquility, and-

      My Lord…

“?”……and now he’s lost focus. Damn it…

Getting back to the ground, Piccolo felt rather frustrated at failing to keep his mind clear.

He really has gotten too relaxed these days. Around this time, Advocaat would call him inside for lunch. With said person now in the city, there won’t be any lunch from him today. But it seems Piccolo's mind has already gotten used to expecting that voice to call him into the house for a warm meal.

It’s all that Angel's fault for always staying so close to him. How else can Piccolo explain his body clock being affected this much?

…Forget it, the whole reason he even suggested for Advocaat to head into the city in the first place was to get back into his old routine. It may take a while, but it’ll happen steadily. So no point in complaining about the person when he could be focused on his own plans.

Getting back into a meditative position, Piccolo starts back up his meditation. This time, he will be sure to make up for all lost training.

Back at the mall

The food court of the mall is always one of the more lively places where people can take a break from the long day of shopping. The pleasant smell of food permeated the air, and a noodle stall is particularly busy today.

“I would like a seafood yakisoba please!”

“Beef for me!”

“Give mine extra pork.”

“Alright! Coming right up!” Says the chef, serving up the orders quickly as the customers happily receive their food. “Phew, today is much busier than last time. Hm, but would working part-time at a mall really help find someone stronger than King Piccolo?”

Right on cue, the chef’s phone rings, and he made sure no one was watching as he hid under the counter to answer the call.

“#15 speaking, what are your orders Carmine, sir?”

“15, how is your search going on your end?”

“Not too well. I have yet to find anyone who could be considered on par with King Piccolo. But sir, might I ask why you believe someone strong would appear at a mall?”

“Reports have shown that there were past instances of individuals capable of flight visiting this place.” Carmine explained, “Some of which are even rumored to be non-human. If you can find one of these individuals, we can have them fight for our cause.”

“Sir, forgive me for being doubtful. But what if they were to refuse to listen to our demands? You remember what happened the last time we hired super-“

“If you have trouble convincing them, simply have them name a price. Surely, some of these powerful individuals have something they want. Understood?”

“Yes sir, understood.” Carmine hangs up soon afterwards, and #15 gets back to his work. As he got the next batch of noodles ready, a feminine voice met his ears.

“Alright! Today’s trip was an absolute success!” Bulma said, full of energy. “You are quite helpful, Advocaat. We should do this more often.”

Advocaat, is currently carrying several bags as well as balancing several boxes on his head, simply focused on trying not to drop anything.

The two finds an empty table, and put everything down before taking their seats.

“Phew, all that walking has me starved, let’s have a good meal before we head back to Capsule Corp. Oh Bulla will be absolutely thrilled once I bring back so many cute outfits for her.”

For some reason this comment made Advocaat stiffen, turning his gaze towards the pile of boxes and bags near him. “This is hardly enough, Miss Buruma.”

“I already told you, it’s Bulma.” Bulma halfheartedly corrected. “And why not? I even got some stuff for Trunks if that’s what you mean.” She said, assuming Advocaat is judging her for being too doting on one child. “Even if he didn’t bother coming here to help.” She proceeded to add.

“No, that’s not it.” Advocaat said, shaking his head. “What I meant is, for something that is supposed to test my usefulness,” he gestures to the large pile of boxes and bags. “I feel this isn’t enough to say I passed.”

This comment confused Bulma at first, but she quickly recovers, remembering the excuse she used earlier to make Advocaat comply with her demands. “Oh! So you feel this isn’t enough to pass the test? Well if you want to shop more I know plenty more places we can try.”

Advocaat shook his head once more.

“That’s not what I meant either.” He said, “I mean what I’m doing simply can’t be considered worthy of my Lord. After all, he’s quite strong himself, and most likely performed far more amazing feats. What I did today, it must be quite lacking in comparison. I’ll still be an insult to him if I return now.”

Did #15 hear this guy right? It seems he works under some powerful lord. And he himself came to this mall as a test? Plus, he doesn't appear human, surely he must be powerful too. Still, all this guy seems to be doing is helping Dr. Bulma with some shopping. Can’t be too hasty with his judgement.

“Well, if shopping doesn’t feel like enough to prove yourself, then what would you suggest be enough?” Bulma asked. Curious what Advocaat would answer with.

I…don’t know. But it needs to be something  to prove that my companionship would give him nothing but the best. My Lord must feel rather out of place here, and even so he refuses to have anyone stay close to him. Not even me. If I can bring him something precious enough to prove myself, surely he’d be more willing to keep me by his side? That way no matter where he is, at least I can keep him company.”

Bulma was about to mention that Piccolo isn’t as lonely as Advocaat thinks. Especially since he’s actually a good friend of Gohan and would often hang out with his family when given the chance. But hearing the last sentence, the Angel’s longing look and his wish to be worthy enough for Piccolo to keep him by his side struck the romance loving heart in her once more.

“I simply wish to stay by his side. Even if the world is against him, I will never leave him alone.” The female lead in the manga a teen Bulma read once said. Oh man, Advocaat is a lot like that female protagonist.

Advocaat had no idea what Bulma was thinking at that moment. But she proceeds to grab a hold of his hands, sparkles in her eyes from…unshed tears?

“Don't worry Advocaat, I’ll make sure you have a chance at making the one you love proud. You don’t have to suffer like Maria did.”

“…who’s Maria?”

“Don’t worry about that. Alright, now I have just the thing for you to show your worthiness. When we get everything back to Capsule Corp, I’ll have my-“

Before Bulma could finish her sentence, the sound of a gunshot rang through near the food court. And several men with guns are seen at one of the jewelry stores in the mall, blocking the exits and scaring everyone inside.

“Listen up! We have this place surrounded! And if none of you want to get hurt! Stay out of our way!”

The people watched, worried about those being held up inside the shop as they waited for security to arrive. Bulma on the other hand doesn’t look worried at all.

“Hah. They really think they are so tough with those guns?” She mocked. “Well there’s someone here that’s even tougher. Won’t you agree Advocaat?…Advocaat?”

Hearing no response from the Angel, Bulma looks towards him to find him busy studying the menu. Not paying attention to the robbery happening nearby at all.

“Hey! What are you doing just looking at the menu!? Can’t you see there are people in trouble?”

“I’m aware. But I’ll be leaving this to the law enforcers here.”

“Why not handle it yourself? You're much stronger than any security guards here.”

“Even if I want to do something, I can’t just get involved whenever mortal troubles arise. That’s against the Angel laws.” Advocaat explains, continuing to look through the menu when Bulma suddenly snatched it from him. A smirk on her face.

“Well then, so you're really not going to get involved?” She questioned.

“That is what I said.”

“I see. sigh such a shame that you can’t do anything. I wonder how Piccolo would feel knowing that you just stood by and let people get hurt.”

Her mention of Piccolo got Advocaat to tense up. And Bulma smirk grows wider as she kept on pushing.

“But it’s not your fault. Not at all. You’re just following the rules set upon you by the Gods themselves. If anything, it’s my fault for even asking. So yeah, let’s let the security handle this and hope that no one gets shot in the process.”

“… If I do this, do you think my Lord would feel proud?”

“Well, probably. But you can’t do anything, can you?”

“…” Getting up from his seat, Advocaat proceeds to walk past the scared crowd and towards the jewelry shop. The robbers upon seeing this, proceeds to pull his gun on the approaching man.

“Hey! I said no one interferes with us! Do you want to get shot!?”

Advocaat ignores this, continuing to walk closer at a steady pace, not showing any signs of fear on his face.

“Look if you're trying to be a hero then give it up! Don’t think I’ll hesitate!” He continues to threaten. When Advocaat continued to ignore his warnings, one of the robbers finally had enough, raising their gun and shooting him. The bullet aimed towards the angel’s face.

Everyone watches in shock as Advocaat did nothing to try and get away from being shot, not even Bulma could believe it. She expected that if bullets did end up flying, surely he could have blocked them. But no, he let himself get shot!?

“See what happens when you mess with us!?” The one who shot the bullet yelled out. “Any one of you try something and you’ll be-“

Suddenly, the sound of something breaking can be heard that lasted for only a split second before the sound of glass shattering followed. When it all stopped, the robbers and hostages in the jewelry store looked at the unconscious robber who had been knocked straight into the display cases, scattering glass everywhere. Looking back at the entrance, the one who had knocked the man out looked back at them, his face showing nothing. Despite having been shot in the face, all that was there was a small bruise.

“You struck me first,” Advocaat voiced. His tone steady and neutral. “What happens now is all on you.”

Notes:

Bulma please stop bribing Advoc with the claims it will make Piccolo happy/angry.

Chapter Text

The sound of panic and confusion from the shooters became buried underneath the gunshots echoing throughout the food court. None of their attacks doing any significant damage to the figure knocking them down one by one. Soon, there was only one left.

Long since realizing that bullets do nothing to the sturdy freak before them, they opted to grab a nearby woman hiding behind a still intact display case. Now pointing the gun at her head instead of the approaching freak.

“Don’t move another step or this one gets it!” He threatens, holding the struggling woman even tighter and pressing the gun into her head, making her freeze up and fearing for her life. Advocaat, upon seeing her life in danger, stops continuing any further.

Relieved that the threat worked, the man proceeded to slowly approach the exit, still holding onto his hostage in case Advocaat dared to move.

But before he could make his escape, a blink and the man who was standing in front of him suddenly vanished. The robber had no time to react, or even see a hand make contact with his back before proceeding to fall to the ground, paralyzed.

The woman, along with the other hostages watched this in shock, quickly turning into relief as the sound of cheering filled the air.

Soon, the mall security and police arrived to handle the rest. Soldier 15, who had seen everything from his noodle stall, was in awe. That person is not only strong, but fast. Moving to attack so quickly it was like he teleported. Certainly, this is the type of fighter Sir Carmine is looking for to take care of all their enemies and revive the Red Ribbon Army once again.

No longer hesitating, #15 made another call.

After Advocaat was hailed a hero, Bulma was able to order some food for them to enjoy before leaving not too long afterward. The weather no longer as unforgiving as it was earlier during the day. Overall, a rather eventful day.

“So you have what it takes to be a hero after all” Bulma said. Playfully jabbing an elbow at Advocaat. “You scared me for a moment when you just let yourself get shot, y'know.”

“I had to show it was in self-defense,” Advocaat answered simply. “I wouldn't get away with it otherwise.”

“As if you need this much of an excuse to defend yourself against a group of shooters,” Bulma chided. “Look at you, you're bruised all over.”

“They do not hurt.” The Angel stated. “And the bruises will heal up quickly.”

“That's not the point,” Bulma argued, “You could've done more to defend yourself. I saw you moving faster than the eye could see back there. If you wanted, you could’ve dodged every single one of those bullets.”

“I believe we are now at your residence, Miss Brooma.”

“Hey! Don’t change the subject just because you don’t want to admit I’m right. And it’s Bulma!”

Getting to Capsule Corp, Bulma, had Advocaat bring in everything one at a time, explaining that the items needed to be treated with care to not break anything. It’s definitely not that she was annoyed with him and wanted to do this as a form of pettiness.

As Advocaat continued to move the items in one at a time, Gamma 1, who had just returned from one of his patrols, ended up spotting said Angel about to enter the building.

His data recognized Advocaat immediately, and he flew in to attack.

Advocaat, sensing something coming towards him, instinctively dodged and flew backward, leaving Gamma 1 to only hit the air.

Both of them stood in place, Gamma 1 holding a battle stance as Advocaat stood relaxed, looking at Gamma 1 with a slight questioning look, not understanding why he suddenly attacked.

“My data is correct,” Gamma 1 said. “You’re the one who’s responsible for destroying Dr. Bulma’s lab before. I must tell you that you are not welcome back here by the doctor’s orders. Leave now.”

Bulma, upon noticing Advocaat was taking a while to bring in the rest of the items, came out to check what was holding him, just to be met with the sight of him having a standoff against Gamma 1. Neither taking their eyes off the other.

She felt her panic rise, crap! She forgot that Gamma 1 usually returns to Capsule Corp around this time when he’s finished with his patrol. When he saw Advocaat, he must’ve mistaken that he was an intruder and pulled him into a fight. This won’t do, if they duke it out, not only will it risk the lab or even the rest of the building getting damaged again, but all of Bulla’s cute clothes which have yet to be moved will be destroyed too.

Running out of the house, Bulma prepares to yell for the two to “sto-“

“…Gamma?” Advocaat voiced suddenly. It was so sudden that Bulma lost her footing, proceeding to fall face first to the ground and slide near the two.

“...Oh come on!” She yelled, pulling herself out of the dirt. “You can’t even remember my name after correcting you so many times yet you for some reason knew his!? No one even told you his name!” Bulma complained, completely forgetting her panic from before.

Gamma 1 looked at her, confused. Advocaat doing the same, though not as noticeable.

“Dr. Bulma,” Gamma 1 called out to the fuming scientist, who now looked at him with annoyance still on her face.

“I believe he only called my name because he read my name card.” He explained.

“…oh.” Bulma fell speechless…

——————————

“So he was helping you out with some shopping? And even stopped a robbery at the mall?” Gamma 1 was a bit surprised hearing this, considering it was the same dangerous Angel from before doing all this.

“Yep, he agreed because he wanted to make Piccolo happy by doing something new while on Earth.”  Bulma explained as she finished putting on one of the new outfits on a wiggling Bulla, quickly awwing at her little girl posing and showing off her cuteness.

“I see. Is there any reason you sent him back with a bunch of chocolates? From what my data suggests, aren’t those chocolates the same ones you bought to celebrate Valentine’s Day, Dr. Bulma?”

“Oh. No reason. He just did such a good job I figured he deserves a fitting reward.” Bulma replied. Smiling and giggling on the inside.

Gamma 1 easily detected her vitals rising, confused about what she could be thinking about.

“Now, since it’s obvious Trunks isn’t home, why don’t you help me with taking some cute photos of Bulla? Your eyes have a camera function, right?

“Uh, yes, I do have such a function. But,” Gamma 1 scans over the many pieces of clothing laid out on the floor. “Are you planning on having her try all of these?”

Meanwhile, Advocaat is walking in the city, holding some boxes of chocolates in his arms. The blue-haired lady’s words on his mind.

“These chocolates are popular every season for couples looking to show their love for each other. Make sure you give Piccolo the first box. That’s the most special one, got it?” Bulma.

“…I do hope he likes these.” He whispers to himself. His front bangs twitching a bit as if in anticipation.

As he continues walking, #15 appears nearby, this time not alone as Carmine looks over the Angel in the distance.

“This is the guy you were talking about?” Carmine asked.

“Yeah, he took out an entire group of robbers on his own. He also appeared to be resistant to bullets and moved at impossible speeds.”

“But you also said you saw him with Dr. Bulma. Have you forgotten she is with the enemy?”

#15 expected this, “Yeah, but it seems they weren’t closely acquainted.” He explained, “The whole time, the guy was calling her by the wrong name. Most likely a temporary hire.”

“Hm, still, I believe we need to get more information out of this one before we have him work for us. Wouldn’t want a repeat of last-“

“Why are you two following me?” The sudden appearance of a monotone voice right behind them caused the two men to nearly jump out of their skins. Shocked to find that at some point, the strange, most likely alien man had moved behind them without either of them noticing.

“W-whoa! Easy there good sir.” Carmine quickly recovered himself, becoming professional as he observed Advocaat more closely.

It’s hard to believe #15’s words that such a delicate looking male could be strong. But that speed just now confirms that the story wasn’t a complete exaggeration. If he can convince this one to work for him, then it would make the rest of his work much easier.

“We simply couldn’t help but notice that there was something unique about the air you give off. And wanted to get a chance to speak with you.” He said, buttering him up a bit. “Let’s find a more comfortable place to speak, do you happen to enjoy burgers?”

“…”

“Uh, Carmine, sir. Why is he just staring at us like that?”

“Shh. Let me handle this 15.”

“Are burgers not to your preference?” Carmine asked. “That’s alright, you can pick a place instead of you have other-“

“What are burgers?”

“…” Yeah…he’s definitely an alien, #15 and Carmine thought simultaneously.

“No matter. I have no time left to waste.” Advocaat said. “My lord is waiting for me. I have to prepare his dinner.”

“Wait! At least hear everything we have to say before you go.” Carmine requested, motioning for #15 to use force to stop Advocaat if necessary.

Advocaat, surprisingly does stop, looking at the two and waiting for them to speak.

“You see, we wanted to request your help in stopping an evil Demon King,” Carmine explains. “My colleague and I both previously worked at a pharmaceutical company, but it was destroyed by this evil being. No doubt this is only the beginning of his evil doings. And he must be stopped before he can hurt more people.”

Advocaat stayed quiet, slowly processing what Carmine said before replying, “This Demon King…would defeating him be considered a great feat?”

Carmine smirks, “Of course! You’ll be considered the hero of Earth if you can get rid of the Demon King for good. And not only that,” Carmine continued, taking notice of the chocolates in the Angel’s hands. “You’ll most certainly grab the attention of the one you desire most.”

“…!”

“So what do you say? Do we have a deal?” Carmine held out a hand towards the Angel who was in deep thought. Noticing the hand, Advocaat seems to have made a decision, raising his hand to give Carmine a shake.

After striking the deal, Advocaat finds himself seated in the back of a flying car. Carmine and #15, in the front driving the vehicle to their destination, both eager to finally have something good happen to them after all this time.

“You are quite good at negotiating, sir. He practically jumped at the chance.” #15 praised.

“Like I said before, everyone has something they want. This one in particular was easy to read.” Carmine explained.

“Really? I sure couldn’t tell.”

#15 continued driving towards the designated location, maneuvering past the tall mountains in front. During this drive, he noticed something odd in the rearview mirror.

“Hey, Carmine, sir?”

“What is it, 15?”

“I don’t know if it’s just me, but does the person we hire look kinda…angry?”

Carmine, hearing this, looks into the rearview mirror as well, and finds the man in the backseat staring through the glass window separating them and directly at the two. His expression isn’t that different, but his gaze seems to stay fixated on them, unblinking. Rather creepy.

“Hey, could we have said something that upset him?” #15 asked, nervous.

“That can’t be,” Carmine refuted. “That window is soundproof.”

Eventually, they made it to their destination, and #15 parks on top of a mountain where they could get a clear view of a waterfall and a quaint little house in the distance. Stepping out of the vehicle, Carmine points out the house in the distance.

“There, that’s the Demon King’s hideout,” Carmine explains. “Now's your chance to show us what you got, hero. Ready to prove yourself?”

“I am.”

“Good, we’ll be waiting here for the good news. So-!!!” Before Carmine realized something was wrong, he found himself raised in the air, the man he hired holding him up by the back of the neck.

“H-hey! What’s with you!?” #15 yelled, pulling out his gun and shooting at Advocaat, trying to get him to let go of Carmine.

As expected, they barely made him flinch, and he slowly turned his gaze towards #15. His grip on Carmine never loosened.”

“To think you two were going to make me do such a terrible thing.” Advocaat said.

“What do you mean? What’s terrible about stopping the Demon King?” #15 questioned, his brain thinking up 100 things per second on saving his boss.

“To think I wanted to do something worthy of my Lord’s praise, only to find that you two planned on having me hurt him.”

“!!!” His Lord is DEMON KING PICCOLO!? That’s when both #15 and Carmine knew…they messed up again.

“But luckily, I can still redeem myself.” Advocaat said, approaching #15 and easily disarming him before grabbing him. Shoving both men back into the car before proceeding to break all the handles, trapping the two inside.

“What are you planning!? Are you going to kill us!?” Carmine yelled, angry that things could go wrong again this quickly.

“Kill you? Of course not, I’m simply sending you two back to the city. After all…I know my limits.” Picking up the car with the two men trapped inside, Advocaat proceeds to aim and throw it in the direction of the city. The sound of the two mens screams slowly faded out as the car disappeared from view. He’s confident that with the angle he chose, they would fall directly where the humans said criminals go.

A few seconds passed with Advocaat simply standing where he was before picking up the boxes of chocolates he had placed on the ground earlier. His grip on them shook a bit.

“I…I…” His grip tightens a bit, slightly denting one of the box in his hands as a glint appears in his eyes.”

“I did something good and protected my Lord’s name.” He said to himself.

He had been worried all day that he wasn’t doing enough to fulfill his Lord’s request. But now that he’s gotten rid of individuals wanting to hurt his Lord, he has truly done something worthy of praise. Still shaking a bit from the excitement, the giddy Angel proceeded to fly off the mountain he was on, eager to tell his Lord how he spent his day.

Of course, his Lord was never wrong, this trip to the city was just what he needed.

Notes:

Fun fact: I originally had an entire burger place scene written and even studied up on how to eat burgers elegantly just to not have the scene in the end to avoid even more clunky transitions. Oh, the many joys of writing.
P.S.:Updated for age consistent Bulla who is supposed to be a toddler here.
