Chapter Text

I was just six when I met him…Zatz the prince of bats. Him and I became friends quickly causing chaos to underworld. Why you may ask? Well lord Mictlan thinks that half-breeds should not be seen as equals to us god, but that never stopped me from love him…

“Acat there someone I want you to meet!” Said Camazotz as he slide to his left “ This is zatz my son I hope you can be his friend since there isn’t any kids his age but you “ Comazotz commented as he then gave the boy and I space to talk. He had white hair, one redeye, the other one with an eyepatch and purple face paint. I waved to him “Hello I’m Acat” I said “I’m zatz” he said “so why don’t I see you at Lord Mictlan’s Temple?” I asked “My papa doesn’t let me near his temple so most of the times I spent at home with the bats” he said “Oh that sad but at the same time lucky because you don’t have to listen to old gods argue about things” I said. “Oh no that sounds better the hearing bats argue who’s the best flyer form your room” he said “wait you have bat powers?” I ask “yes at least that’s what Papa said, since I’m half god I might get some bat abilities but at the same time I might not, that what sucks being a half-breed” He explained “Hey I think it better then being a god I mean you can do things I can’t do since lord Mictlan always has us gods in is temple planing things that isn’t even happening until eleven YEARS FROM NOW!” I said as he laughed and in that moment I knew we were going to be together forever “That ashamed” he managed to said “I know right!” I said and before you know it two years past . (Zatz and Acat are eight years old.) I was getting better at combat and Zatz finally got his bat powers and was still getting used to them. “So now that you have your bat powers dose that mean you father is going to let you leave you bat house and come to Lord Mictlan’s temple?” I asks as I take a set next to him “No Not yet he has to ask him first if I can enter. You know how he feels about half-breeds.” Zatz said in a somewhat sad voice “Oh yeah…. Well I fell like since Lord Mictlan likes your father to the point the made him his right hand man I think he might let you in.” I said look at him as he turned to look at me too. His eye was beautiful like the red lava. “ACAT ARE YOU OK? YOU LOOK RED! ARE YOU GETTING SICK?” He said with a worried look “What No I’m not” I said “Then why did you turn red?” He ask I didn’t want to tell him that I was thinking his eye was beautiful and that him looking at me made me feel like we were the only ones in the world. Lady Micte said that that feeling is what love feels like “I just remembered that bone and skull want me to let them tattoo me when I’m eleven so yeah!” I said “Oh ok that cool what were you thinking of getting?” He asked “I don’t know maybe a dragon..wait no a snake!” I said “OH a sanak will look cool on you!” He said. Time passed again. (Acat’s eleventh birthday) “Are you ready to see Acats new tattoo Zatz?” Bone asked “Yup” he replied “Ta-da” siad Skull “Wow it a snake” he said “Yup like I said” I replied my tattoo went across my right eye. “Well it looks pretty on you” he said as I gently gave him a kiss on the cheek. Yes I finally told him l like him and we later on started dating♡ “Soooo Acat why did you specifically ask Skull to do your snake across you right eye?” Ask Bone “Oh yeah why did you?” Skull added “Oh…. I thought it would look cool…ha ha ha….” I said with a nervous tone “And you were right it dose look cool” Zatz said “Anyway we should go back to the temple” said skull “Yup are you guys coming?” Said bone “Yup” zatz and I said. Six years later the plan started and Zatz and I were no longer kids and he got a bit distant from me. “It is done, Lord Mictlan.” Said Zatz kneeling down on one knee “Just like you planned, husband” lady Micte siad “And..” said Lord Mictlan “All of the Teca army are marching through the Endless Forest, My lord.” Zatz siad “I can already taste their fear, mi amor.” Lord Mictlan said “ah Mi amor pobrecitos, they do not know what they do” said Lady Micte “Your half-breed daughter, she will be a delicious sacrifice, beloved” Mictlan siad. I sometimes forget that Lady Micte had a unknown daughter with a human. “Anything for you, beloved” She said “ Mi señor, perhaps showing the humans mercy…” “General Camazotz, the only mercy in war is death.” Said Mictlan to Camazotz all gods laughed except Camazotz “And I shell be relentless…in my mercy. Don’t wait up my darling, for tonight I pay a visit to an old acquaintance of yours.” Lord Mictlan siad as he floated away then a few minutes pass, Camazotz followed I flew were Zatz was, “Hey Zatz how did it go what happened?” I asked “Oh nothing really…I…I have to go Acat we’ll talk later” he said I gave him a confused expression as I see him leaving. Then I felt it, there was something different about him and I didn’t like it.

“ I can’t be the only one who thinks there’s something different about Zatz.” I asked “ huh… oh maybe his just like that because of the war going on.” Said Xtabay “Or maybe he’s tired of you” said bone and skull “Hey don’t say that or else..” “Or else what Acat? It true…he’s been acting like that for years now and you just noticed it!” said skull “no I’ve noticed it too but I thought it would of went away by now” I said “ Give it time Acat, thing like this takes time.” Said lady Micte I just nodded and went back to eating even though I wasn’t hungry so then I just got up and left. I was almost losing hope that zatz was come back. I’ve been waiting for him outside his house for hours then as I was just about to leave I saw Camazotz coming towards the house. “Hello Acat” he said “Hello Camazotz, do you know where Zatz is?” I ask him “Oh he should be here soon” he said “Come in and take a seat.” He added “Thank you” I said as I said enter the house of bats “Would you like tea or coffee?” Camazotz asked “Oh ah… tea please….” I said as he went to make the tea “Ah…Comazotz can I ask you something?” I said “Acat you can always ask me everything.” He said “Ok well do you know what up with Zatz?” I asked “Zatz…No why?” He says “Because he has been getting more distance with me and I just wanted to know why.” I said as he set the tea down “Well he should be here soon” He said as he tries to changed the subject something in me is saying that Comazotz does know what’s wrong with zatz. I waited for awhile then Zatz finally came “Zatz your back!” I said with a smile “ Oh…Acat..hi.” He said “I need to talk to you in private.” I said “Oh ah… ok ah let go to my room.” said Zatz as walk to his room. I sometimes forget how clean it was compared to my “So what did you want to talk?” He said as he closed the door then took a seat on his bed. “Zatz I feel like there something wrong with you… you’ve been acting distant, You look me differently and I can tell you’ve been acting very different since before this war happened. I just want to know what’s happening to you.” I said “Acat there’s nothing going on with me I’ve just been busy with training and being lord Mictlan’s messenger. I promise you they’re nothing wrong.” He said then kissed me but it still didn’t feel genuine “okay I trust you Mi Principe” I said with a smile * knock* “Hey Acat are you going to stay for dinner?” asked Camazotz poking his head out from the door. “Um if it alright with zatz?” “Yes” zatz said with a small smile “Ok dinner is ready in five minutes.” Said Camazotz as he shut the door again “Anyway is that all you need to tell me?” Said zatz “oh yes that all” I say “Then we should go back and get ready for dinner.” He said as he got up from his bed. We walked down to the dining room and took are seats “I hope you’re really hungry because I accidentally made too much food!” Said Camazotz “Papa you always make too much food!” Said Zatz as we laughed “Thank you Camazotz for the delicious food!” I said “No problem Acat you’ll always be welcome here to have dinner.” He said as he takes a big bit off his plate. {After eating} “Hey Acat would you like some to take home?” Camazotz asks “Oh sure” I said as I helped Zatz with cleaning the dishes. Something you probably didn’t know about Camazotz is the reason makes “Too much food” is so I would have some thing to eat later and he thinks that I don’t know but I do thanks to Zatz pointing out to me, when I’m not there Camazotz makes the perfect amount of food for them but when I’m there he “makes too much” I think it really nice of Camazotz to do and I can’t thank him enough for it. Sometimes I wished I had someone like Camazotz taking care of me.

Zatz and I have been doing better than the past couple days… until today when lord Mictlan settled all the gods plus zatz for a meeting.

I hear a knock coming from the front door of my house but I ignored it and went back to sleep until I heard a big crashing sound I got up and walked to the room “ SERIOUSLY BONES & SKULLS” I said as I saw my house destroyed “What you didn’t come on time so we just broke your door to let ourselves in” they said “Why are you even here this early?” I said “There a meeting with Lord Mictlan in about 15 minutes so get ready.” They said as they saw me in my nightgown with little white owls “YOU NEVER SAW ME IN THIS OK!” I said “that’s going to costs you” said skulls “NO YOU ALREADY DESTROYED MY HOUSE…NOW LEAVE!” I yelled at them “Geez ok… but if you ever need our help, don’t ask.” Bones said it not like I needed their help anyway. I got charged and headed towards a Lord Mictlan’s Temple. “Hi Acat” said Xtabay standing next to me “oh hi Xtabay” said “So do you know why we’re all here?” I asked “No but I think this has to do with a half-breed” said Xtabay “You mean Zatz?” I said “No I mean lady Micte’s half-breed daughter.” She said “Oh…wait lady Micte has a daughter..I thought the Goddess of Death couldn’t have child.” I said “what dose her being the goddess of death have to do with having children?” Xtabay asked “Oh well…ah.. she’s you know….kind of… dead. But now that I’m saying this, it doesn’t matter because we’re gods and anything is possible at this point.” I said as Xtabay nodded “You’re probably already know that the war has started between the Teca people and us Gods….plus Zatz “said lord Mictlan I always hated the fact he treated zatz differently “But I have found out that the king and queen of teca found a new prophecy, a prophecy that well bring my wife’s half-breed daughter and three other Children to end us gods… do not fear I had made a plan to stop her at all costs by assigning you all to try and stop her.” Lord Mictlan said “The first task goes to Kaylus.” He said as the goddess step in front of lord mictlan “You well trick her into giving up and surrender herself to me.” Lord Mictlan said “Yes my lord” she said “Well you do you leave today so goodbye and please don’t fail me like last time Kaylus.” He said lord Mictlan said more things then the meeting ended . I try to look of Zatz but couldn’t find him or Camazotz they might of left right away was going to leave until I heard someone say zatz’s name “It you know that that half-breed zatz had a thing for lady Micte’s half breed daughter Maya.” Said Ray the goddess of thunder…I always hated that Chismosa “No way isn’t he in a relationship with Acat?” Said Cipactli “YES HE IS WITH ME” I yell to them as I walk towards them “So Ray where did you hear this stupid rumor?” I asked “Oh you’re so naïve Acat…. I heard it from him, he could stop say how’ courageous and beautiful she is!’ to Camazotz” She said which got me a bit mad “Oh yeah right…Zatz would never do that it not like him at all.” I said “Well I hate to break it to you little Princesa but he would say that and he did say it so…take this as a sign that he doesn’t really like you anymore since he saw someone else who’s probably prettier than you and let’s face it you know it true too” Ray said I ran up close to her and pushed her on the ground “YOU WANT TO GO PUTA” I yelled “HIJO DE PUTA MADRE … you will regret messing with me Acat” Ray said she got up and attacked me back. We were fighting in front of everyone “Oh come on Acat I thought you could do better then this.” She said that’s when I snapped and summon one of my daggers I was about to get her until we got stop “ENOUGH” Yelled Lady Micte “This is not how goddesses should not act.” She said “Yeah Acat.” Said Ray I just gave her the middle finger and left but before I did I whispered to her “this isn’t over Estúpida” I said as I walked out of the room how dare she accuse zatz of like someone else she doesn’t even talk to him or goes near him… but a part of me believes what she said. Later on it was lunch time for All of us. I sat down next to bones & skills on my right and Vucub to my left, and on the other side was Camazotz and zatz. For some reason it felt like everyone was talking about the rumors of Zatz as much as I wished it wasn’t real I already knew it was true. If there something Zatz isn’t good at is lying… and as much as I deny it the more it’s going to hurt letting him go. But to just stay with him I will act as if I don’t know what going on. He’s the only person who has ever cared for me and I don’t want to lose him yet.

Sorry but I will not be uploading a chapter every Tuesday anymore because i’m officially a sophomore (yes, I’m a high schooler writing fanfic about a kids cartoon don’t judge me.) and I’m going to be busy with school so it’s now every Friday so I have more time to for schoolwork and more time for the fanfic :)

The day has come that Kaylus’s came back from her quest. “I can’t believe that you failed me again Kaylus. I’m starting to think you not good at doing your job.” Said Lord Mictlan “I’m sorry my lord…but I’ve tried everything to break her, but failed… She’s different my Lord, she’s stronger. I felt it… and she has a golden talisman.” Every God gasped. “But she doesn’t know that it can hurt us.” Said Kaylus “That good.” Said lady Micte “ZATZ... STAND BEFOR ME, PRINCE OF BATS.” said lord Mictlan “Yes..my lord?” Said zatz “This is your only opportunity you have to show me that you’re capable of being with us gods by tasking you to bring me that half-breed.” Said Lord Mictlan. Oh no I can’t let him go by himself… “Yes my… “ I interrupt zatz “ACAT WILL BRING HER TO YOU MY LORD” I said as I walk towards lord Mictlan and zatz. “Your wish is always, my command lord Mictlan.” I said as I bow down to him “This is unexpected, But very well Acat…I trust you two would bring her back a one piece.” He said “It would be my pleasure my Lord” I said, as I put my hand around Zatz and laughed then he pushed me away “ALIVE prince of bats, she can only be sacrificed if she’s a life… Acat” Lady Micte said as she looked at me. I looked at her back. “Of course, my lady” said Zatz “I cross my heart and Hope to die” I said as i now I promise not to kill her by mark in a new tattoo with that promise {if i break the promise I will die too}. “Vary well, you may leave now.” Said lord Mictlan. zatz and I started to walk out the temple “you’re going to get yourself killed Acat” zatz said I know that it is true, but I couldn’t look I didn’t believe it “Oh you worry too much Zatz” I said
{Outside the temple} Zatz had summoned Colmillo. “Did he just growled at me?” I said “Yes, I Don’t think Colmillo like you.” Zatz said “Well I feel the same way ,you dead puma” I said “Hey! don’t say that to Colmillo“ said zatz with an angry tone “Sorry.” I said he got up on Colmillo’s back “Alas” I said, this is going to be a long fly.
