Chapter Text

   As they began their travel to the Koopa Kingdom in the dreaded Dark Lands, the Mario Brothers were ready for anything. At least Mario was. Luigi on the other hand, wasn't as confident. He only went with Mario on a few rescue attempts but they somehow managed to get separated in the castle every time. Over the course of their adventures, Luigi had made it his mission to heal and revive any of Bowser's minions that Mario ruthlessly attacked.

Some of the Koopa's he attacked were either non hostile or just starting out in the Koopa army. Mario didn't care. He was just focused on beating the big bad koopas and saving the princess. Speaking of, the brothers arrived at a small castle where Mario rushed in with no plan. Luigi had just caught up after giving aid to a Koopa who Mario damn near killed. He carefully mad his way in and saw his brother standing outside a set of large doors ready to kick it down. Luigi had heard a small electronic beat from behind the doors and before he could stop his brother, the doors burst open.

In the room a small Koopa with a blue Mohawk and a star shape on the side of his head, was playing on a set of turn tables having the time of his life. That was until Mario came up and attacked him. "Mario! He's just a bambino!" Luigi said in shock and horror. Mario didn't listen. After punching and stomping the poor kid, he left. Luigi quickly rushed towards the kid and the kid started scrambling to hide behind his turn tables. Luigi stopped when he saw the kid scurrying and wincing in pain, with a face trying desperately to hold back tears.

Luigi got down on his knees and looked at the kid. "It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you." He said softly. The kid pointed his broken want at the human. "Yeah right! Like I believe you-ow!" The kid gripped his sides and dropped his wand. Luigi rummaged through his bag and pulled out a first aid kit, a super mushroom and a 1-up mushroom. "I know you don't trust me, but I want to help you." Luigi said. "What my brother did was wrong, and you didn't deserve that. Especially as young as you are." The Koopa kid eyed Luigi nervously before cautiously comping out from behind the broken turn tables and sat by Luigi.

Luigi immediately began treating the kid. Bandaging his wounds, and fed him the mushrooms. The kid back in his feet hugged Luigi and cried. Luigi hugged him back and patted his shell. "Does anywhere else hurt?" The kid shook his head. Luigi took out a letter and handed it to the kid. "Take this to King Bowser if you can. You guys don't have to trust me, but I want to keep most of your troops and families out of the hospital." The kid immediately understood, taking the letter and going into his own clown car and flying off. "My names Larry Mr.Green guy! I'll tell king dad you helped me!" And with that the kid was gone.

By the time Luigi caught up to Mario, Bowser's castle was in sight. "Cmon weege! The princess needs us!" Mario claimed as he he readied his one man charge. Luigi grabbed his brother's arm. "Must we charge in fratello? He's already expecting us. Why no plan?" Mario just scoffed and took his arm back, immediately charging towards the castle. Luigi reluctantly followed behind, fear gripping him in its usual tight grip.

Mario was already in the midst of battling a bunch of Koopa troopas, goombas, and any other available member of Bowser's army. Some troops left Luigi alone, because he had helped them but others mostly ignored him. He used this opening to go deeper into the castle. Luigi managed to get himself to the throne room where he saw Peach hanging in a cage like a chandelier.

Peach saw the man in green and gave a smile. "Luigi! Where's Mario? Is he alright?" She asked. Luigi felt a slight twinge of hurt. It was always Mario before him. "Yes he's alright. Should be here soo-" in a flash the door was burst open and Mario came rushing through with a bunch of Koopa troopas, Goombas and Dry bones all rushing in and surrounding the duo. Bowser came in behind his troops, smoke coming from his nose. "You gotta lotta nerve, red!" Bowser said, his voice making Luigi slightly cower. "You mangle my troops, break into my castle and to make things worse, ya attack one of my youngest! Guards, get em!" And with that order, the troops immediately charged after Mario with the intent to subdue him. Luigi,on the other hand, had tried to talk to the troops while they repeatedly tried to stab him with their spears.

Mario dodged more attacks and jumped on Luigi's shoulders and began to spin, making the troops back away a bit. "Bro, they aren't worth it! Stop trying to help them! Cover me!" Mario said as he jumped off his brother's shoulders and grabbed onto the cage with the princess inside. Luigi stood there, hands up in fist, ready to defend but not wanting to fight, when he noticed the troops were looking at him with questionable looks. They soon began whispering amongst themselves and it got him really nervous.

When he looked over, he saw Bowser on a knee talking through the crack of the door. Before he could ponder what was happening, Mario ran by with Peach in his arms, jumping on and over enemies, leaving Luigi behind. Luigi ran after them hoping to catch up. But as soon as he exited the throne room doors, he saw Bowser in the corner huddling something in his arms protectively. When the king Koopa looked up, Luigi saw little Larry, with a bandage wrapped around his head and gave him a small wave. Larry waved back with enthusiasm while orders to follow them were issued. Luigi wasted no more time running after his brother and the princess.

Luigi climbed flights of stares through the castle only seeing glimpses of Mario run far ahead. By the time he got to the roof, he saw an airship with the princess' insignia on the sail. As soon as Mario and the princess were on board it began to take of. "Attesa! Wait for me!" Luigi shouted but the engine from the ship muted him to anyone on board. It had go a large amount of feet in the air when Luigi made a big jump. He started kicking his legs as soon as he was off the roof, activating his Scuttle Jump. He was close enough to grab a ledge of the ship, but it gained speed, with enough force to push him back on the roof of the castle.

Luigi watched as the ship left the Darklands, not turning back. He sat there on the roof, tears threatening to come down his face. He grabbed his knees and hugged himself. "He left me again..." Luigi thought. Mario usually left him at home but never in enemy territory. He closed his eyes, sleep overtook him right there, on the roof of the Koopa Castle.

Chapter Text

Bowser began commanding his armies to get the castle fixed up and he helped. After finding out the red one beat Larry, broke his favorite thing and left him a mess, he lost it. When he saw him, he wanted to kill red, but he didn't. Larry had stopped his father handing him a letter and told him the green brother had helped him. Bowser scoffed when he heard that. The brother of his enemy helping the enemy's kid?

The staff of the castle where showing Bowser any other damage he'd have to look into when Larry and Bowser Jr came running up to him.
"Hey dad! Guess what? Larry showed me this cool game trick!" Junior stayed excitedly. "You gotta come check it out! I also painted another picture!" Out of every other time in his life, Bowser would let his guard down. His kids where his life. He took the Koopalings off the streets after their parents went on to the great beyond, and Junior, his only biological child, came from his mother who also passed on.

"That's great boys. I'll come check it out when I'm done here." With that the boys gave each other a high five before rushing off in the direction they came from. Bowser soon began to continue his rounds when a red shell Troopa came up to him. The koopa troopa bowed. "Apologies for disturbing you, your majesty, but something came up." Bowser looked at the soldier. "What could possibly be so important?" The soldier stood up straight. "You should come see for yourself" the koopa said as he led Bowser up to the roof. When they got to the roof, a green shell koopa was kneeling near the body. "Terry, what are you doing?! I told you to stand guard." Terry had looked at bot the other troopa and the king. "Im sorry but I know who this is. I had to check on him"

Luigi woke up on his side, holding his stomach, dried tears still on his face. He saw figures standing all around him and he suddenly was up and alert, tucking into himself, when he came face to face with Bowser. "What are you still doing here greenie? Being a spy?' Bowser asked gruffly. Luigi immediately shook his head. "N-no, your highness! I promise I'm n-not s-spying!" Luigi took off his hat and held it close to his chest as his breathing got faster and heavier. Bowser saw this and immediately softened himself. "Alright alright greenie. Calm down your gonna give yourself an attack." Terry had gone to Luigi's side and rubbed his shoulder.

With that, Luigi started to calm down, but still hugged his hat. Terry helped Luigi stand and lead him towards the door inside. "My king, if you'll allow me, I'll escort Luigi to a room so he can calm down." Bowser looked between his soldier and the still cowering and shaking human. "Fine. But if any problems that threaten us will be on you and I will see to it you never set foot in these lands." Bowser said in his commanding tone. Terry nodded and bowed as he lead Luigi away.

Bowser looked at the human as he left. He felt something in him. Something that felt familiar yet foreign. He'd have to keep an eye on his "guest" until then.

Chapter Text

It had been two days since he found Luigi on his roof. Two days waiting for the human to wake up. Bowser had gathered his kids and his advisors in the living room to have a talk with them. "So, we have someone staying in the castle for a while." He began. "Unless instructed otherwise, you are not to hurt them." Roy, one of the elder ones was leaning against the wall arms crossed. "So what? Who's this guy anyway?" He asked. Most of the others began to bombard their father with questions, all busy Junior and Larry, who both are uncharacteristically silent.

Bowser left his kids to go check on his "guest and the rest of the castle. The Koopalings and Junior looked amongst themselves. Kamek and Kammy had left so the children were on their own. "So, who's the guest? Think it's Peach again?" Lemmy asked. Wendy shook her head. "Can't be. Mario came in and took her back. That guy's so mean." Roy punched his fist into his hand and growled. "Next time we meet 'im, imma beat him to a pulp!" He said triumphantly. Larry started to use his hands and start brushing his mohawk. Junior saw this and just got close to Larry.

Ludwig cleared his throat, getting the attention of his siblings. "Brothers and sister, it's clear we have an unknown person inside the castle." He began. "We must proceed with caution and follow father's rules-" "Aye shut up, Luddy!" Roy interjected. "No one tells me what to do. Move over squirts! Im gonna go lift." And with that, Roy left the room. Larry looked around and saw that Iggy slipped off somewhere during Ludwig's talking.

"You okay?" Looking up, Larry saw Junior, Morton and Lemmy, who were looking at him. "Yeah. I'm ok. I'm just worried about Mr. Green guy." Larry said truthfully. "You mean Mario's brother?" Lemmy said as he climbed up Morton's shell and sat on it. Larry nodded and Morton picked up Larry and gave him a huge hug. "Morton no like little brother sad! Morton make little Larry happy." And with that, Morton grabbed Junior and took them up to where their father's guest was staying. As they peered around the corner of the hall, they say a goomba carrying a tray in its head into the room with the help of a Koopa troopa.

Junior looked at his siblings. "Guys. Let's do some snooping! Find out who's in there." Lemmy took that as conformation and jumped off Morton's back, doing a series of cartwheels and flips and hung on top of the doorframe. When the door opened again, he managed to swing through without being noticed. When the two troops left, Junior made a rhythmic knock on the door and Lemmy opened it, bowing as he did so.

Once the brothers let themselves in, being as quiet as they can be the looked at the bed. Larry was the first one to gasp and attempt to get closer.

Mr. Green guy was here.

Chapter Text

Darkness.

That's all Luigi saw. He looked around, he called out, but it was only silence. He felt something pull him down. It wasn't a rough and fast pull, but a gentle tug.

Luigi's eyes fluttered open. "Ugh... Where am I?" He asked out loud. He sat up gently and looked around, he saw the large room he was in. He looked next to him and saw a good tray and carefully lifted off the lid. The contents were a bowl of porridge, some fruit pieces and a glass of water. There was a note that said "When you get up and your hungry." Luigi took a few fruit pieces and ate them. They were a bit warm but still edible. The porridge, however was flavorless, but he ate it anyway. When he put the bowl down he heard a thump.

Clutching one of the large pillows in his arms, he looked over the bed and saw four koopas on the floor. They all locked eyes for a bit before the one wearing a bandanna, who bore a striking resemblance to Bowser himself, shouted "Retreat!" The largest member of them grabbed all of them under his arms and charged out the room.

Bowser had come back to check on Luigi when he saw four of his sons running in his direction and right past him. As soon as he got to the room, he saw the door cracked and Luigi still sitting in the bed under the covers. They both looked at each other for a while.

Bowser cleared his throat, a few ashes coming from his mouth. "You okay there greenie?" He asked. Luigi only nodded and replaced the pillow he was holding with his hat. The air was getting tense. Bowser wasn't liking it, evident by his tail slowly starting to lash.

The silence was broken when a medic Koopa troopa walked in and gave Luigi a final check over. Now knowing that he was okay, he looked up at the king. "T-thank you for h-helping me." Luigi said nervously. Bowser simply nodded. "Don't mention it. Literally." As he looked away, Luigi took note of some bruises on the side of the king's neck and face.

Browser growled to himself. "You hungry greenie? It's just about dinner time and I can have the cooks make some extra for you" he said. "I could e-eat." Luigi said softly. Bowser turned to the door and started to walk out. "Your clothes are on the chair. A servant will bring you to the dining room" he said gruffly as he walked out the room.

Luigi saw his clothes on the chair and the looked clean and intact. He carefully climbed out the bed and began to dress himself. "How long have I been here? When is Mario coming back? Do I want to go back?.." All these thoughts swirled in his head, like a cloud threatening a storm. All he knew was it was going to be a bit rough.

Chapter Text

When he was escorted to the dining room, he was met with a lot of odd looks. It's not every day the King of Koopas has a Mario brother over for dinner. Some troops glared at the lesser know brother, both in protection of themselves and their king, but also unaware of what he can do.

Bowser was already sitting at the head of the table, while his children filled the seats of the table eyeing Luigi with every step he took to the chair on the other side of the table. Luigi noticed that a koopaling sitting to his left closest to him was watching him and one one on his right was staring blankly. "Morton! Larry! Stop staring!" Bowser's voice came from across the table. The two hung their heads apologizing to their father and the green brother.

The chef's brought out food and placed them in front of everyone. It looked to be chicken legs, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables. As dinner went on, some of the kids would talk among themselves or to Bowser. Bowser wore a proud smile when talking to his kids. That is until everyone looked in Luigi's direction. "Time for the million questions" he told himself mentally so he could be ready to answer any questions. "Mario.. where are you?" Luigi whispered to himself, wondering if his brother would come for him.

The Mushroom Kingdom was holding a festival to celebrate the safe return of the hero and princess. Toads were ecstatic with the festivities. There were news broadcasts, games food, kart races. The only one not having a good time was Polterpup. He watched from the window of the cottage the brothers shared, the kingdom up with big lights.

No one came to the house in three days. The ghost dog was hungry and he missed his master. With that, the pup fazed through the window and bounded into town. Hoping to find Luigi and food.

Luigi had answered questions from the Koopalings which wasn't all bad, if you count the older ones being very suspicious of him and asking questions about the Mushroom Kingdom and what he does. Bowser had silenced them with a single bloom when he caught wind of those questions.

When the servants came and cleared the table, Larry asked a very odd question. "Hey dad, can he come play games with me?" Everyone looked at him with a shocked expression. Junior piped up saying he'd join them if dad said yes. Bowser looked between his kids and the green brother. The two who asked pulled their biggest puppy eyes, while the rest glared at the human.

Bowser sighed. "Fine but I need to talk with greenie here first." All the Koopalings up and left from the table to go on to their own activities. Bowser stared at Luigi, his crimson eyes burning deep into Luigi's water blue pools. "Listen," he began "I don't care if you don't trust me, but I'm telling you this. The Mushroom Kingdom doesn't have to worry about me" Luigi was baffled. "W-what do you mean?" Bowser side and stood up from his chair.

"They don't have to worry about me terrorizing them. I'm done with the whole "kidnapping" thing." Bowser ran his claws through his hair. "I gotta focus on being a king and a dad. Can't do that chasing some broad" Luigi looked at the king. "Well, thank you f-for telling me. But wouldn't you want to tell that to Peach?" Bowser let out a laugh. "Like she'd listen to me. We're going to talk later" as he opened the door he stopped "hurt my kids in any way" he warned "I will end you" Luigi nodded quickly and got out of his chair and followed behind the king.

Polterpup had been wandering around the festival, no luck in finding whom he was looking for. He did manage to find something to snack on, even if some of the toads weren't happy with their stuff going missing. Sniffing about, the race track was full of people, and karts going all around it.

Floating up, Polterpup looked around the crowd and sure enough, Luigi wasn't to be found. Taking matters into his own paws, Polterpup began sniffing around and after catching a scent, he took off for the track and found Mario on the side of the track working in his kart. Nipping at his overalls, Mario felt something wrong and followed the ghost dog.
Upon reaching home, finding it locked, and practically untouched he came to s conclusion:
"Weegee's in trouble!"

Chapter Text

After that talk with Bowser, Luigi had followed the two Koopalings who wanted him to play. Junior and Larry lead the plumber to the family game room, tucked away in a wing of the castle not many are allowed in.

Once inside, Luigi took a good look at the room. A giant, flat screen television hung up on the wall, game consoles littered the case on the floor underneath it. An assortment of games were stacked up next to the consoles. There were photos of the Koopalings on the walls and the window was large enough it let an ample amount of natural light into the room.

Junior was first to pick a game, grabbing a racing game and handing controllers to Larry and Luigi. "The first game is gonna be a race!" Junior stated. "Winner gets to pick the next stage! You played this game befor, right Mr. Greenie?" Luigi nodded. "My brother and I used to play this together" Luigi wanted to be cautious about using Mario's name since it's like a trigger word around here.

"Well, you've got us to play with now! Wait, you already know our names, or me and Junior's names.. buts what's yours?" Larry asked looking at him with a smile. "It's not nice for me not to know the name of the person who helped me from his own brother!"  Luigi looked shocked for a second. Not many ask his name offer. He's normally just called a bunch of nicknames. "My name is Luigi" he said with a smile. With that, the boys began their games.

Mario had gone to the princess that night and told her what he found. Immediately concerned for her friend, she gathered her royal court consisting of Toadsworth, Mario and a few other toads to discuss their next course of action. "We should begin with sending search parties into the nearby lands." Peach began. Mario sat uncomfortably. His mind was telling him to just jump into action, no matter how long it took.

When all the search parties had began to leave, Peach and Mario stopped to talk. "Here, take these." She handed Mario a Fire Flower and a Ice Flower, both bursting with overflowing power. "What's with these power ups?" He asked looking up at his girlfriend.

Once she explained, Mario was off, he was going to check every land. Polterpup had already gone ahead, unbeknownst to anyone, already knowing where his master is.

Luigi was actually having a good time. Larry and Junior both enjoyed playing games with him, even calling him Master Weegee when he did a particular trick in a game the wanted to learn. Then after that, he got to see Lemmy preform a routine that had Luigi on the edge of his seat, worried for the boy's safety.

He even hung out with Iggy, as distant as the teen was. He actually gotten to talk to him about inventing, due to his own knowledge and working with Professor E. Had a lot. Wendy had actually wanted to do make up with him and Luigi actually enjoyed that. He even promised her that next time she gets a new dress, he'll try to get one that matches.

Ludwig and Roy were still skeptical on having the brother of their enemy in their home. Luigi didn't force himself to get to know the boys but will be patient with them. The days soon turned into weeks. Luigi actually started enjoying it here, although he still missed being back in the mushroom kingdom. He wondered if Mario noticed he was missing yet.

Chapter Text

Mario had been on the road for a whole month, still looking for his brother, still having found no trace of him. He began to pull on his final destination: The Koopa Kingdom, in the dreaded Darklands.

Bowser was actually happy. In the time Luigi was here, he managed to send letters to neighboring kingdoms, aside from the Mushroom Kingdom, to attempt to make amends. His own kingdom was happier. His subjects got more benefits, he managed to get more time for his kids.

As time went on, he began to see Luigi differently. Sure, he was still shy, a bit cowardly towards most things, and clumsy, but when he got used to stuff, he entered a whole new level. In the kitchen, Luigi was a master all his own. There have been times he cooked dinner for the entire family and still had leftovers for the staff and some in the kingdom.

His desserts were also amazing. The first time everyone tried his dessert, there were tears. It scared the plumber that he did wrong, but when everyone reassured him, he calmed down. Luigi had a bigger impact on the kingdom than he thought.

That brings us to now, Bowser had just finished his paperwork and was traveling the castle halls. That's when he heard the sound of giggling. He followed the sound and he ended up in the throne room. There he saw Wendy, sporting a pink dress, bows and starts stitched into it, fitting comfortably over her shell. Looking over he saw Luigi also sporting a dress. It was green and brought out his eyes. It may have been a plain green dress, but it actually looked like there was more- not that Bowser would say yet.

With a soft blush and a knock on the room doors, he entered and Wendy rushed to her dad. "Daddy!" She exclaimed as she ran over and hugged him. "Luigi actually made this dress for me! Grandpa helped him with it and it's perfect!" She did a little twirl and a curtsey.
Bowser smiled "You look good sweetheart. Did you thank your grandfather and Luigi?" She nodded and then ran to the door. "I'm gonna show Luddy and Roy. Have fun daddy~" as she winked at her father with a knowing smile and left to find her brothers.

Bowser let out a inaudible growl. He's daughter  was a cunning one and not much emotional wise got past her. He then turned his attention back to Luigi, who was currently cleaning up the space where he and Wendy were playing. Bowser just watched  Luigi as he moved.

Say something you dolt! You've hung out with him and practiced it! Bowser had scolded himself mentally. "Sooo Luigi... I-I wanted to ask you something" Luigi looked up and tilted his head a bit. "Yes?" Bowser blushed and looked away for a brief moment. "D-do you want to have dinner with me?" He clenched his eyes shut.

"Sure. What would you like?" Luigi asked, prepared to make a mental note of the king koopa's request. Bowser growled, got down to the plumber's level and got in his face. Luigi got a bit nervous and backed up a bit and tripped on some thread still left out. Bowser quickly reached out and grabbed him gently. They looked like they had just finished a dance routine, now both blushing like crazy.

Luigi started placing things in place and placed a hand on the king's thumb. "I-I would love to have dinner w-with you." Luigi was now a blushing mess, still being dipped back by Bowser. The Koopa king was mentally having a dance party since his date got accepted. "I'll come get you at eight. I'll have the tailors make you something fancy." His thumb rubbed Luigi's cheek and the plumber actually leaned into it.

Pulling the plumber up and placing him back on his feet, Bowser bid farewell to the human to go take care of some royal business, and when he opened the door, all of his children besides Roy and Ludwig, fell to the ground. Before anyone could react, Bowser scooped them all up and rushed off to his office.

"What have I told you about eavesdropping?!" He growled eyeing all of his children. "Reboot, father. It was all Wendy's idea." Iggy said with no hesitation or emotion. "I just followed cause they dragged me along." Wendy came up and shoved her brother aside, glaring at him. "Aside from that, you've got a date! We're gonna make you so eye catching, he can't say no!" Bowser rubbed his temple. As much as he loved his kids, there planning was both on point and needed work.

But still, Bowser was happy. He's going on a date. But he was going to have to make it perfect. How hard could that be?

Chapter Text

Things went surprisingly well for the rest of the day. The staff took Luigi's teachings and were preparing the dinner menu, the plumber himself was actually talking to Kamek and the tailors for what to wear, and Bowser was still trying to figure out how to make this date perfect. Luigi had become such an influence around the Darklands, and he's only been here for a month and a few days. Bowser enjoys that everyone was getting along with his Luigi.
Heh. His Luigi. Let's hope the date goes well for him to start calling him that.

Outside the castle, Mario was busy trying to get into the kingdom. His usual plan would have been charge in and rush out, but instead, he decided to listen to his younger twin and think. He set up camp far outside the kingdom's borders, he could still see the entrance to the place. He's been here so many times, there should be an easy way in.

After doing a quick scope while avoiding guards he kept making plans to get in. Returning to camp, he prepared himself and began to wait. Something he wasn't fond of doing.
"Hang tight fratello" he said to himself "Imma gonna get you out"

Luigi was passing the time while being super nervous for the date. He spent his time in the library, reading a bunch of recipe books and keeping his mind at ease. Kamek was by earlier, discussing the outfit he would wear, then he went to go take care of something with Bowser.

The sound of a chair pulling out caused him to look up from his book. Luigi saw a koopaling, his hare large and blue with a centered single tooth coming out from his mouth. The koopaling looked up at the plumber and bluntly stated "Look. I know my dad has a date with you, but don't think we'll fall that easily." Luigi gave a look of confusion, turning his attention to the boy. "As the oldest it is my job to look after my siblings, even if I'll only end up in the royal court when it comes time for the crown to be transferred but I digress" he leaned in closer and eyed the plumber. "You are still the enemy's brother. When I find out this is a elaborate plan to destroy us, I will personally make your life wore than hades."

Luigi bookmarked his book and looked the kid directly. "Look, I can promise you that I have no ill intentions whatsoever to hurt you, your father or your family." He said calmly "I really like your dad and I want to see how far I-we can go. If it works, I'd be happy if you guys gave me a chance" Looking at his thumbs, he began to twiddle them "a-and if not, I'd still hope to remain his friend and help all the kingdoms come together under peace." Ludwig was taken aback by this it even caused Roy to come out and eye the man suspiciously.

The boys then began to whisper between each other before looking back at the man in green. "Fine" Ludwig said "We will grant you our support. But if things go south-" "I'll send you to painsville personally, got it?" Roy interjected.
Luigi chuckled and softly smiled at the boys. "Thank you. I'll treat him right and your siblings will be kept from harm" they all nodded at each other and the Koopalings left. Looking at the clock, noticing the time and the sun setting, Luigi cleans his area and heads off to go get ready.

Bowser was pacing the room, his tail dragging across the floor. He had cleaned himself up, combed out his hair and put on a black suit he wore for formal occasions. He was extremely nervous but extremely excited at the same time. The person he's felt a true attraction to was staying with him and agreed to a date with him.

The sound of footsteps brought him out his thoughts and he looked in that direction. Kamek floated down on his broom. "Your majesty, I present to you your date for the evening" with a wave of his wand, sparkles surrounded the staircase and out came Luigi.

Bowser being stunned was a understatement. Luigi was sporting a stunning outfit that looked like a mix between a suit and a dress. The top was the suit part, it was a lovely dark green, with yellow and white buttons decorating it, while the bottom was the dress, it used a silk fabric and nicely covered his lower half.

"Stars above you're gorgeous.." Bowser said stepping towards Luigi and bowed and held out his hand. Luigi blushed and put his own hand in the king's. "Thank you. You look magnifico" Bowser smiled and guided his date towards the table.

Mario had snuck past some guards and made it to the inside of kingdom borders. He went around to the back of the castle and jumped over the lava moat. Expertly clearing the obstacle, he followed a pipe inside.

This pipe Mario came across on one of his previous rescues. He's only used it once and a entrance. After following the pipe inside, he ended up in a bathroom, as one would guess. After opening the door and making sure it was clear, he snuck out. Ready to find his brother and bring him home.

The dinner date had went surprisingly well, both parties having enjoyed their time together. They had just finished dessert when Bowser got up, pulled out Luigi's chair, took his hand and lead him to a balcony.

The night sky was mostly grey with a red hue, due to the volcanos and lava around the Darklands. Luigi has never had the time to see the Darklands in its fullest, now he has time and he's enjoying every second of it, and he has someone to enjoy it with. A slight blush crept onto his face as he got closer to the Koopa king.

Bowser instinctively moved his arm and wrapped it around Luigi. "I'm glad you stayed" he said and he lifted Luigi up with ease and brought him up to his muzzle. "Everything has been better since you got here. My kids are happier, my subjects are happy, I've actually gotten a response in allying with another kingdom. All because you were on my roof."

Bowser took the first move and brought the plumber in for a kiss. Being started at first, Luigi quickly adjusted and melted into the kiss. The clouds then decided to depart, showing off a full moon, glowing brightly in the sky, stars littering next to it, shining on the two.

Breaking from the kids for air, the two just stared at each other. They got lost in the pools of blue and red respectively, never wanting to part. Then, Bowser got an idea. Gently carrying Luigi off through the castle and into the ballroom. He gently placed him down and offered his hand. "May I have this dance, babe?" Luigi looked at the hand offered before placing his own in it. "Si, amore" and after that, the two waltzed across the entire room.

Leaning into Bowser, Luigi followed the king's movement, happy with where his life is. No longer in the shadow of a overachieving twin, not looked down on my the townsfolk, loved and cared for. Although he was sure Mario still loved him, he would rather be here with his lover than in a place people don't respect him.

The two began wandering the halls till they stopped at Luigi's room. Bowser had the time of his life that night, he didn't want it to end there, but, his human was getting tired. After kissing his forehead, Bowser was about to let go of his hand, he felt another hand on it. He looked and saw Luigi with a slight nervous look on his face. "Stay?" He asked and Bowser only nodded and followed him into the room.

Luigi had begun to put on pajamas while Bowser went to the adjacent bathroom to freshen up when he heard it. It sounded familiar. Being a plumber, it was like common knowledge. The sound of wet boots quickly rushing across the floor. Putting on his pajama top and walking to the door and opening it a crack, the next thing he saw was his brother rushing down the hall.

Mario skidded to a halt when he saw the door creek. Backtracking, he saw his brother. "Mio fratello" Mario whispered and immediately pulled his brother into a hug. Luigi was stunned. Mario was here, but he didn't know how to feel. "M-Mario... what are you doing here?" Mario looked at his brother like he was crazy. "What do ya mean bro? You were kidnapped! We sent search parties all over for you! Sorry it took me so long. You know how long it takes to get to the Koopa Kingdom on foot." Luigi didn't budge. "How long have you been traveling?" Mario peaked out the door keeping and eye on the place.

"It's only been a week. When we didn't notic you at the return celebration, we scrambled to find you." Luigi shook his head. "Your a terrible liar" Mario turned his head to his brother. "I've been here for almost three months. The last time you were here, you and Peach forgot me." Mario looked shocked. "Oh no.. fratello I'm sorry. Let's go and we'll make it up to you. Hurry before guards show up" pushing his brother towards the door.

"No" was all Luigi said and he planted his feet. "Bro this isn't funny. Peach and everyone are worried and-" "If they're so worried, why doesn't anyone remember me when it counts?"
Tears threatened his eyes, looking directly at his brother before going on a rant in both English and Italian, making sure his brother hears every word. Bowser was peaking through the bathroom door, having to keep silent and ready if anything happened.

"I can't go back there..." was the last thing Luigi stuttered out before tears started streaming down his face. Mario just grabbed his brother's wrist and began to drag him out when something lifted both of them up. Mario saw Bowser, holding his brother and he let go of his wrist. "You should leave now, red." He said smoke coming from his nostrils. "I'm granting you mercy this once. If I see ya in here again, I'm sending you back in pieces and a body bag."

Stepping towards the door, Mario looked at his brother one last time. "I'll get you out of here fratello. Te lo prometto". With that, Mario rushed out, back to the Mushroom Kingdom, ready to come back and save his brother. Unaware his brother had already been, and didn't need to be saved.

Chapter Text

The next day wasn't much of a good one to say the least. Luigi mostly stayed in his room, not really making a sound. Different guards, maids, and workers came to check up on him, change his sheets and laundry, and leave him some get well items. The Koopalings wanted to stop by, but Kamek stopped them. They tried to get guards posted by the door to let them in but were turned down.

Bowser was upset he couldn't comfort his boyfriend, but his kingly duties kept pulling him away. Junior and Larry were more hurt by this and both wanted to do something but couldn't. Junior was wandering the halls, holding a cookie that the chefs said Luigi made. He had one earlier and he could taste the plumber's hand crafted recipe and it almost brought tears to his eyes.

Looking at the clock he knew his father would be out of his job soon and his siblings would normally play around with this time so he got an idea. Rushing towards the play room, he heard a musical commotion going on in there. He opened the door and saw Ludwig trying to conduct Larry on his Turntable and Roy, who had headphones that matched his sunglasses and a electric guitar in his arms. Ludwig himself was at his piano, played a quick melody and Larry and Roy played notes that matched it.

They noticed Junior and stopped for a second. "What are you doing, shrimp?" Roy asked as he took his headphones and placed them around his neck. "I could ask you guys the same question" he shot back. "We're trying to write a song to get mama out of his room." Larry said making a beat and rocked his head to it. "Mama" Junior tilted his head as he repeated the word. He used to call peach "Mama Peach" but ever since his dad stopped kidnapping her, he stopped calling her that. Ludwig got up from his piano and came over, shedding some light on that subject. "He means Luigi" he said using his class to comb through his large some hair. "He's taken to calling him that after the few weeks he's been here. Seems like he imprinted on Larry so much, he started seeing him in a parental light." Looking at Larry, who rubbed his arm.

"I just..." Larry started, not looking up, "He acts just like a mama should.. he took care of us as if we were his." Larry got up and just hugged Ludwig. "I just want our family to feel full again.." Junior, after hearing that wants to go through with his plan more than ever. "If you guys every get done or take a break, meet me in the kitchen." Junior had the look of determination in his eyes as he turned to leave.

After spreading the news to his remaining siblings, he stood outside his father's office and when the clocked chimed, he stepped back as his dad walked out. "Junior? Son, everything okay?" Bowser asked as he took off his reading glasses and got on a knee to be at his son's level. Junior shook his head and climbed up on his dad's shoulder. "I wanna do something for Luigi. I miss him reading to us, cooking for us." Junior leaned his head in his father's face as he continued to go on what Luigi did for them. Bowser could only smile when he heard his son say he wanted to try something to cheer up Luigi.

The man in question was still in bed, eyes red and tears stained from more crying. Mario shows up, tried to pull him away like he wasn't here for months, and doesn't even register his feelings at all. Luigi just wanted to curl up and hide from the world. It was then he heard barking. Some guards were saying things he couldn't understand but next thing he knows, a white flash jumps through the closed door and starts licking his face. Trying to get hold on the thing, he realizes it's Polterpup. "Hi puppy." Is all Luigi says as he hugs his ghost dog.

Polterpup immediately felt something was wrong and calmed down and just cuddled his owner. Luigi cuddles his ghost dog felling more relaxed. Keeping the dog in his arms, he got up and walked out his room. Walking past the guards, he apologizes for his dog startling them and goes off to find his boyfriend.

Walking down to the kitchen he put his dog down to open the door but was met with the sight of chaos. Bowser was trying to work in the kitchen, looking very stressed yet confident that what he's doing is right, the kids, however are bikering, fighting over ingredients and the counters were cluttered. Larry was first to notice him walk in and ran in his direction. "Mama! Your up!" He gave Luigi a hug and looked at the ghost dog. "Who's your friend?"

The kids all looked over and flicked towards Luigi, both greeting him and his dog while Bowser watched his kids as they began to reconnect with Luigi, happy he's up and about. Letting off a slight growl, the kids back off leaving a path for their father. When he gets close to Luigi, he gets on his knees and presses their foreheads together. "Glad t'see ya up, babe." He whispered. Gently stroking his hair, Luigi replied, "Glad to be up, amore".

After figuring out what they were all doing, Luigi took over in the kitchen, instructing everyone to clean and turned all the ingredients to something edible. He managed to make something they all could eat, with a nice dessert to go with it afterwards. After they all ate, they decided to watch a movie. Gathering in the large family room, and after the kids bickering on what to watch, they settle on a movie they all could enjoy. Bowser and Luigi sat on the couch and began to cuddle, when Junior and Larry came in between them and joined. Lemmy came over and sat atop his father's shoulder, Morton sat under Luigi's arm, Wendy sat next to Bowser and Iggy climbed up on the back of the couch. Ludwig and Roy sat on the floor, but still close to the pile.
"Hey dad" Bowser looked down and Junior, wondering what his son had to say. "Larry was right. Mama and papa fits Luigi better now. I hope he stay's forever." With that, Larry grabbed Luigi's arm and draped it over him and Junior and it ended up under Bowser's stretched out arm. Both adults were a bit taken back by what was said, but smiled anyway.

For the first time, the royal Koopa family felt like their family was complete, all thanks to Luigi.

Chapter Text

The royal family were all enjoying a day out in the courtyard. Roy was teaching Morton some fighting forms, Ludwig and Wendy were painting each other's nails, Iggy and Lemmy were just chatting while Lemmy did some flips and tricks, and Junior was playing catch with Larry while his turntables played magically in the background. Luigi was reading while watching the kids have fun and Bowser was right there next to him, happy but his tail twitching.

Cmon you dolt! You have the ring and practiced! Ask him damnit! Bowser screamed at himself in his head. "Everything alright amore?" Looking down at his human, who was looking up at him, his blue eyes pulling him in immediately. "Yeah. It's just.... I've got something I wanna ask you." Luigi put his bookmark on his page and set his book down, giving all his attention to Bowser.

Before he could speak though, a shadow loomed overhead. It caused everyone, including the guards posted outside to look up. "We didn't get a new airship did we?" Iggy asked as he walked over, Lemmy hot on his heels. "No. Not that I'm aware of.." Bowser immediately stood, prepared for anything while Luigi corralled the kids together. The ship launched cannonballs around the courtyard, each of them exploded into pink smoke.

Luigi had tried to usher the Koopalings inside the castle for safety but cannonballs had blocked their path. Terry and a few other soldiers had been stationed outside so they had some good defense, but still. Out of the smoke, a few Toads holding spears stood blocking the entrance. Out of the smoke, Mario and Peach walked out too. "Bowser!" Mario said gaining said person's attention, "I'll give you one last chance! Release my brother!" Peach's face only showed determination, ready for herself and her troops to bring back her boyfriend's brother.

Bowser managed to get what troops he had in a single file line, creating a barrier between them and Mario. "This time red, this ain't what you think it is." Bowser tried to reason, he wanted peace for his family and soon to be fiancé. Mario put up his fist, ready to go. "Lies! Kidnapping the princess is one thing, but my fratello is a whole other thing!" Bowser growled, smoke leaving his nostrils. "First off, I didn't kidnap him." He said staring straight at Mario and Peach. "Last time you came to save her" he pointed at Peach, eyes narrowing to slits "you left him"

Bowser stopped talking to let those words sink in. Mario looked at Peach and laughed. "You must be joking! I'd never forget my bro!" Luigi pushed the kids back as he walked up to the line of Koopa troopas protecting him. Mario saw this and immediately ran to get his brother. Terry pointed his spear at Mario, ready to do his job. Mario used the spear to gain height and crash down on Terry.... If Luigi hadn't caught Mario's foot and threw him down.
"You did forget me Mario...." Mario looked as if he didn't hear that right. Walking past the Koopa line, Luigi helped his brother to his feet and hugged him. "I'm glad you came bro, i really am... but you guys forgot me that day." Luigi felt the tears threatening to leave his eyes.. "I wasn't good mentally for a while till Bowser found me.

Luigi began to tell everyone what happened while he was here, including the few dates they had been on. Bowser watched for any reaction and for any advances in attacks. Luigi pulled away and looked at Peach. "Your highness, I apologize for leaving without saying such. I-I understand if you see me as a traitor, or if any of you see me at all. But my life is here now." Looking at everyone who followed Mario and Peach then back to Bowser. "I can only hope we can forget the past and move on. Maybe create an alliance to better improve the kingdoms."

Turning and walking back to Bowser, Mario got to his knees and started crying. "I'm sorry fratello... I should've listened.." Peach however, smiled "Luigi, only if your happy, and Bowser allows it, I'm willing to forget the past and start a new era." She held out her hand to Bowser. Bowser looked at Luigi, who was helping his brother up and hugging him. Luigi nodded and Bowser smiled softly and nodded. He shook he princess' hand gently. As soon as they let go, more explosions came down around them. They saw Peach's airship had come down a few ways away from them. The guards surrounded themselves around Luigi and the Koopalings and everyone rushed to get inside. Mario used his firehand to lob fireballs at the explosives, Luigi used his Thunderhand to send sparks of electricity to protect the kids.

Luigi had ushered the kids away and as soon as he did some explosives surrounded him blocking him off. Bowser tried to get to him, but he had to grab all his kids and get them away. Out of nowhere, a giant steel ball opened and landed on him. "Luigi!" Bowser and Mario both cried as they ran to get to him. The ball was lifted into the air and dragged off underneath a purple airship. Both Bowser and Mario jumped to catch the ball but it was hoisted away and the ship took off.

All anyone could do was watch as he was taken away, to who knows where.

Chapter Text

All Junior could do was watch as his mother was taken from him. He looked to his siblings, looking to see how they were taking it. Ludwig looked stressed, between what seems to be making a plan with Iggy and keeping his siblings somewhat calm. Lemmy was hugging Iggy, his bright bubbly personality now replaced with sadness and tears. Iggy was holding his older yet shorter brother, talking to Ludwig and trying to keep himself totally calm and emotionless.

Morton was holding Wendy and Larry trying not to break down. Wendy was bawling her eyes out and Larry was holding his head, wanting it to all be a dream. Roy was.... angry. He was punching the wall repeatedly. He kept saying "Coward". Junior looked to his dad who was pacing around, smoke coming out of his nose, threatening to blow fire out at any moment.

Looking down on the ground he saw a pile of green. Walking over to it, he got down on all fours and saw it was Luigi's hat. He picked it up and hugged it close, taking in its scent. It smelled like apples and fresh baked goods. Junior started to cry and he walked back to his dad. Bowser noticed his kid and him holding the hat. He scooped him up, gave his kid a hug and sat on the ground.

Peach walked over to Bowser and placed her hand on his arm. Bowser was grateful for the gesture, but was trying to console himself and his son. Mario snapped out of the trance he was in, witnessing his brother taken from him before his eyes and immediately started running towards the wall. "Mario! Where are you going?!" Peach got up and ran after him. He stopped and looked back at her, eyes filled with tears and anger. "Im going to get my brother! I can't let him get hurt again!"

Peach stood in front of Mario stoping him from going on. "Peach, please get out of the way! Lu's in danger!" He said trying to get past her. Peach kept stepping in front of him. "I know your upset but so are the koopas" She got on her knees and held his face gently. "Listen, we need a plan. We don't know who took him, and we don't know where they're taking him. That and we could use more help." Mario calmed down and nodded, understanding. The pair looked over to see Bowser commanding his troops and consoling the rest of his kids.

"Kamek, see if you can get a letter to Princess Daisy. Tell her we need her help. See if she is willing to help." He thought for a second. "Tell her about Luigi. Hopefully that could convince her to help us." With a bow, Kamek disappears to do as he was told. He then turned to his kids and got down on all fours and mumbled something to his kids. Junior climbed onto his head and just hung out up there, wearing Luigi's hat. The rest of the Koopalings climbed onto his shell, using his spikes for leverage and he walked over to Peach and Mario.

Mario instinctively put himself between the Koopa king and Peach, bracing for anything. Bowser glared at the plumber and turned his attention to the princess. "Princess Peach," he began "It would be nice if you could come inside and help me. With yours and possibly Daisy's help, we can bring Luigi home." Peach stood and got from behind Mario. "I would be honored to help you bring him back. He is still my friend."

Bowser turned his stare to Mario, eyes narrowing his eyes. "You are also welcome to stay, but you are to follow the rules we put in place." Mario sighed and agreed, and they all went inside.

After a few hours, Kamek, with Ludwig's help, managed to create safe portals for Daisy and her entourage to come through. First she was happy to see Bowser, then turned furious when she heard her best friend was kidnapped, then got calmer when she found out they were dating and he was seconds away from popping the question. Both Daisy and Peach said to Bowser "If you hurt him, I will end you." Which had scared him he actually ticked his head in his shell a bit.

After everyone had gathered, and refreshments had been placed out, Bowser's table opened up to reveal a holographic map of the lands. Everyone began to try and guess where Luigi could've been taken. Things got slightly difficult when Mario saying it wouldn't have happened if Luigi had been home. It took a lot of soldiers to keep Bowser back from tearing Mario to shreds.

The Koopalings sat outside in the hall, the door cracked so they heard and saw almost everything. Larry had to put his headphones on cause he didn't like it when the adults scream and carry on like that. Morton took to holding his younger brother in an attempt to console him. Wendy and Lemmy just sat there silently. Junior was now wearing Luigi's hat and stood in front of the door. Ludwig, Roy and Iggy came up behind him.

Junior stepped to the side as Roy came up and punched the door open, gaining the attention of everyone in the room. "SHUT UP, ALL OF YOU! YOUR GIVING ME A BLODDY HEADACHE WITH HOW YOU GUYS ARE ACTING!" Bowser stopped yelling and looked in the direction of his kids crowded the door. "Father, please, this yelling needs to cease." Iggy stepped forward, pulling his brother behind him and patted his shell as the older kid turned away. "Yes, we understand tensions are high and new developments have come to light, but we have to be calm and level abut this." Everyone watched and Iggy, Ludwig and Junior came to the table. Iggy placed some materials on the table that confused everyone. "After the attack I managed to find some time to analyze the material used in the attack" Iggy began to go into extreme detail of what he found. He even went far to using words the adults couldn't keep up with. With a sigh he dumbed it down. "We need to find Professor E. Gadd. He's the only one who can help us." Iggy used his wand to create a hologram of the professor. Ludwig took this to step up himself, holding some papers that he wrote on. "What he's suggesting is we find the professor so he can create poltergust devices."

"Boys." Bowser came in suddenly, and they looked at him. "How would finding this professor help?" The two looked at each other. "Because mama worked with him before." Junior jumped in. "That and then think they know who took mama..." Junior took the green cap off his head and hugged it. Everyone leaned in asking 'who' or something along those lines. The three koopalings looked at each other and nodded before saying the name of the prime suspect.

Luigi woke up and found himself in a cage. Feeling around, he found both his ankles where shackled to the cage. Felling himself, he still had his clothes, aside from a few singe marks on his overalls and shirt. Looking around, he saw what seemed to be an attic, but it was very large, had a lot of other cages that where all empty. Luigi started to freak out a little. Yes, he had been in situations like this, but they still made his stress and anxiety go up.

"Well, we'll well. Look who's finally awake!" A familiar voice and ghostly cackle filled the air. Luigi looked around frantically for where it was coming from, fear gripping him. "No... no nonononono!" Luigi hugged himself, wanting to feel the warm embrace of his boyfriend, their children and his brother, despite all that happened. "Where are you? Where am I? What do you want?! How did you g-get out?" Luigi voices all his questions,  his breath and heart growing quick with each passing moment.

"Oh don't you worry, Luigi. I'll tell you everything in due time." The voice said ominously. "Just get comfortable. Your going to be here a long time." And with another laugh, the voice was gone. Luigi felt his anxiety and fear spark up and his thunderhand activate.

Sparks flew out of his body and into the air. Tears dropped down his face, and when he went and gripped the bars of his cage, it reflected his shock back at him, which caused him to scream he fell back and laid on his side holding himself.

Bowser was going through his closet when he felt his heart twinge. He's hurt. That's not good. We should go now! His mind kept screaming. He focused when he found what he was looking for. Pulling them out of the giant trunk a reminiscing smile came to his face. He grabbed the items.

Junior was helping his siblings prepare for their journey when he saw his dad walk into the room. He watched in awe as his father dawned a metal breastplate, metal shoulder and knee pads and a war hammer with what looked like two shells decorating them. He also took note of the bazooka strapped to his shell.

Everyone in the room turned and bowed to their king, some saluting instead. The Koopalings watched in awe and remembered the stories their father told them about traveling to that other universe and help save the galaxy. "My army!" The king began "We are going to retrieve our queen! Some may fall today, but you your sacrifice won't be forgotten. Remember you are helping make the royal family as well as our kingdom whole once again!" The room erupted in cheers, everyone rushing to their battle stations.

The koopaling all stood in a huddle. "Alright, everyone remember the plan?" Ludwig asked. Everyone nodded "Ludwig, Roy, Larry and Junior go with dad, Ludwig using his tracking spell to find mama." Lemmy piped up. "While the rest of us go find any weapons in mother's old dwelling, find the professor and meet back at the battlefield." Iggy finished. Everyone nodded and put their hands one on top of another. "Let's get our mama back. Team Koopa on three." Junior declared, as he initiated the countdown. 3. 2. 1. Each one of the Koopalings hands went in the air as they shouted "Team Koopa!"

Out of nowhere, soldiers began to chant those words as they prepared to go. "Kids." They all looked up to see their father walking over with his hammer and Bowzooka strapped to his shell. "You know I'd never ask you to do this." He got down on one knee to look his kids dead on. "Are you sure you guys want to do this?" Each of them looked amongst each other before turning back to their father. "Of course we want to!" They all shouted. "Mama has done more for us ever since he got here!" Lemmy said. "He's the best addition to our family!" Larry said. "He connects with us like you but in his own way." Wendy says. "Morton want mama. Only mama Luigi." Iggy just nodded. "Yeah what they said."

Then they all ran and hug their father, even Iggy and Roy who would've stayed away from affection. "Stars above I love you kids." Bowser whispered. "Lemmy, Iggy. Your to protect your brother and sister. I'm sending Daisy and Mario with you." The two nodded, looking at their father with determination. "Father if I may" Iggy said, pushing up his glasses and pulling out his wand. Everyone looked to see a large, metal airship come out of the floor.

"Iggy, what is that?" Bowser questioned as he stood up. "It was to be your wedding present but I decided to pull it out of beta." The Koopaling pushed up his glasses, smirking to show off his creation and genius. "This is the Koopa Air Tank. Am all terrain vehicle that will make your entrance to King Boo's hiding place all the more threatening." Oohs and ahs came from everywhere while troops began to load cargo onto it.

"Proud of you kid." Bowser said as he went to assist in loading things. Lemmy walked up to Iggy, and patted his arm. "You okay, little brother?" Iggy's tail was slightly swaying, as he wrapped an arm around Lemmy. "Did you just hear that? He just said he was proud! Oh it felt amazing!" Lemmy could see the stars and sparkles in the taller sibling's eyes. "I'm gonna chase this feeling!" Iggy declared with a small air fist.

Luigi's ruses we're red with tears. He had been in this cage for what felt like hours and everything hurt. That's when his large nemesis, King Boo, decided to make an appearance. "Well, well. Hello Luigi.~" he said with a sinister smile growing on his face. Luigi looked up with half lidded eyes in fear. He was exhausted but still afraid.

"You know. I'm glad you took the path you did." Luigi tilted his head, wondering what that could've meant. "I respect Bowser" Boo said, staring into Luigi's baby blue eyes. "But he's a major threat to me and all my ghost! I will get rid of him and the little brats and I will create a new kingdom from its ruins!" Luigi's eyes went wide as a loud ghostly laugh ran shivers through his spine. "P-please! D-don't do that! They're just k-kids!"

"Awww so cute when your helpless and pleading. I won't make any promises. As for you, you have the pleasure of watching me destroy that army before I turn all of you into portraits hanging in my mansion!" Another ghostly laugh he let out, fording Luigi to cover his ears. Bowser.. Mario... please help me..

Mario was helping toads load stuff onto airships. He had to help despite his judgement. Peach and Daisy were off elsewhere planning the attack with Bowser. Mario still didn't trust him, but his brother was in danger so he had to help. "Yo, Red." Looking up at the terrible nickname, he saw the Koopalings and a few Koopa troopas walking his way. The big one with the pink shades came up and looked him dead in the eyes.

Mario couldn't see anything from behind the glasses, and never learned their names but nonetheless, they came up. "Listen here. You'll be working with pops, and as much as I'd love to see him tear your head off, we are willing to... ugh don't make me say it.." the one with big blue hair nudged the other's arm. "Fine.. we're willing to play nice for now.... But get this!" He grabbed Mario's shirt and pulled him close to get in his face. "You try taking ma from us, you'll be dealing with me and pops personally." The voice got low deep and a bit menacing for that sentence, Mario couldn't hide the slight shudder he had.

The large koopaling let go of his shirt and stomped away, with three of the other boys following behind. The rest signaled Mario to follow them. They led him to a different airship and put him on it. He didn't know what was happening but he was ready. Hang on, Lu. I'm gonna save you. Imma fix this.

Bowser had just finished some last minute planning with the princesses and his generals and began boarding the leading airship. Ludwig, Roy, Larry and Junior were going to be with him until the others got back. He looked and saw Junior holding his magic paintbrush and still wearing Luigi's cap. It almost brought him a tear but he didn't falter. He kept his expression rough readying himself.

"My army! Allying armies! Launch!" With that command, all airships took off from the hangar. As the ships took off, one separated from the formation. Looking back ahead, he prayed to the stars. Stars and Grambi above, protect my kids and my love. Hang on Luigi. I'm going to save you and everything will be okay!

Chapter Text

The skies were clear, birds were singing, cheep cheeps were splashing in the lakes. Mario thought the view was peaceful, could've been more if he wasn't on a airship surrounded by Koopa troopas. "Your highness" That brought Mario out of his thoughts and saw the pilot address Iggy. "We are entering Mushroom Kingdom airspace. Currently en route to the home of the Mario bros." Iggy nodded and stepped closer to the pilot. "Excellent. Prepare for decent."

Turning towards the others he began dissing out instructions to the troops on board. Mario watched  as troops got into small groups and began briefings amongst themselves. The ship soon landed outside the brother's home. Mario was first to step off, suddenly flooded with memories of when they first came here. He watched as troops pushed past him. The Koopalings plus four others went to the door while three others took off for the castle. Looking around, he notices Daisy wasn't among them. Knowing her, she would be fine on her own.

Iggy had found a key under the doormat, both a simple and predictable spot to hide a spare, and opened the door. Walking into the home everyone took note of the small homey feel. Mario was about to head inside when someone came running up to him. Turning around, he saw Yoshi running up towards them.

"Mario! There you are! Have you seen the princess or Luigi?" Mario began to tell Yoshi what had happened the last few months and their current plan. Yoshi patiently waited through the entire story before saying "I'll be glad to help you out. I might not forgive you for what you've done, but for Luigi, I'll do anything."

Mario smiled softly then turned to see the troopas and the Koopalings coming out with all of Luigi's things. Yoshi waved, and the soldiers nodded back then began loading the cargo onto their ship. "Oh, have you seen Professor E. Gadd? We kinda need his help." Yoshi nodded. "That's actually why I came over, he needed to to the princess and Luigi. He's waiting at the castle right now." After hearing that, Iggy rushed up to Yoshi's face. "You know where the professor is? Can you take him to us immediately? Can he turn ectoplasm particles into portrait form?!" Yoshi slowly backed away when Morton grabbed Iggy and threw him over his shoulder and moved him away.

"Sorry about him. He's a big fan of Professor E. Gadd." Lemmy said. "Troops, once your finished loading the stuff, prepare to head to Peach's castle." With a salute, the troops marched on, loading the airship and gathering everyone on board. Mario stopped and looked at Yoshi. "Hey yosh! You coming?" Yoshi looked Mario dead on with a huge smile growing on his face as he jumped into the ship. Everyone was boarded on and took off for Peach's castle, where Daisy and the professor await.

Elsewhere, Junior was staring out the window, holding Luigi's cap him his hands. Gently rubbing it with his claws, he held it closer, longing for the warmth his mother provided. "Yo, squirt. You okay?" Looking up, he saw Roy walk up to him with his arms crossed. Junior just looked down where the hat was, a small frown growing on his face.

Wrapping his arm around his brother, Roy pulled him into a side hug. "Don't worry, little brother" Roy said, rubbing the other's shoulder. "We're going to find him. Dad won't let anything keep him or us from Ma." Junior finally let the tears take over and hugged Roy full on. Roy took off his glasses and placed them aside, then proceeded to hug his little brother and gently press their foreheads together.

Junior responded with a small chirping sound while Roy rubbed his shell. Outside the door, Bowser saw this and gave a warm smile. Lu would've loved to see and be apart of this. Looking away he made his way to the ship's main control deck, where Kamek and Kammy were helping Ludwig prepare for the spell. Larry was sitting on a step, and watching his brother.

Walking closer, he picked up Larry and put him on his shoulder and walked over to Kamek. "How's it going?" Bowser asked looking at his adviser. "Kamek gave a nod looking up. "We're just about ready to get started." He replied looking at the book he had open. "This spell is quite advanced and I'm worried about the young master over exerting himself casting."

Ludwig looked up from his work, with a look of determination on his face. "Grandfather, you've expressed your concern plenty of times." He put down his wand after completing the spell circle and stood in the center. "Like I've stated before, as for it is my plan, with assistance from Iggy, where credit is due, allow me to locate mother with the spell."

Kamek nodded with worry growing on his face. Bowser gave the nod to continue, Larry hugging his head. Everyone stood back while the three mages began their spell. Ludwig sat in the center of the circle, eyes closed, chanting the incantation. Kamek and Kammy began to join in, keeping constant eye on Ludwig in case.

The entire airship began to shake a bit. The crew began to grab hold of something, while the pilot attempted to keep them steady. Ludwig's eyes opened, glowing his signature dark blue, as he began to levitate. The spell circle began to glow more, from
A dark blue to a green that everyone had become familiar with. Ludwig's body had floated down and when it touched the circle, a beam of light shot out.

The ship stopped shaking, everything became still once more. Kamek and Kammy both took a breath, haven taken a bit of energy out of them. Ludwig sat in the circle, a growing smile appearing on his face. Turning around he saw his father and his yourger brothers. His father nodded and Larry gave him two thumbs up. "Ships! Follow that light!" Bowser and Ludwig commanded. The looked at each other and chuckled, knowing they were now on their way.

"Contact Iggy's team." Bowser said. “Tell them we found him."

Chapter Text

Mario and Daisy sat at the table with Toadsworth, E Gadd and Iggy. It took loads of convincing for Toadsworth to let the Koopaling in. After Iggy gave the backstory on what happened, he began to get on board. They didn't have time to hold a proper meeting so Toadsworth gathered the able troops while Iggy and E. Gadd worked on the poltergust duplicates.

In the midst of it all, Morton was just sitting back and watching, not really partaking in the talking, despite having the nickname "Big Mouth." It was when he went to stand, a Koopa troopa rushed in holding a paper. "Prince Morton! We have news!" Morton looked up and Lemmy propped himself on his brother's shoulder. "What's going on?" He asked the soldier. After politely bowing, the soldier continued with his report. "The king sent a message. They have located the queen!"

Morton grabbed both the soldier and Lemmy and squeezed them into a tight hug. He rushed into the meeting room where Iggy, the professor and Toadsworth were beefing the toads on the situation. "Dad found MaPa! Morton happy!" Causing everyone to turn their heads. Mario was first to run up, his eyes threatening tears. "They found him? They really found him?"

The soldier nodded, showing them the parchment he held, which was a map to Luigi's location. Daisy wrapped Mario in the tightest hug he ever felt, while toads began to put on poltergust and load into the princess's reserved airships. Iggy pulled Mario, Daisy, E. Gadd and Toadsworth to the side. "I'll be frank about this. I doubt we're ready." Looking amongst his audience, he continued "But it's the best we've got on short notice. Now, let's depart. No more delays." With no other words, everyone got into an airship, taking off to get back Luigi.

Junior stood on the ships outer deck, watching the beam of light that lead to his mother. Holding his magic brush in one hand, he changed his stance and painted a small picture on the floor. He was too deep in his work he hadn't registered his father's large footsteps approaching. When he finished he stepped to the side to admire his work, when his father lifted him onto his shoulder. "Good job, son. You've painted our family perfectly." Junior just rested his head against his father's, slowly allowing sleep to take him.

After placing his son in a bed, he later saw Larry sleeping with Roy, the latter had his arm draped around the youngest, which made Bowser happy. He went to his seat on the ship's bridge and closed his eyes, sleep taking him.

Deep in the dream world, Bowser was greeted with darkness. Looking around, he took note of a faint green light directly in front of him. "Lu." Reaching out for the light, a hand grasped his. He felt the familiar warmth of Luigi in his large hand. "Bowser. Ho paura. Per favore, non posso più reagire." Hearing Luigi in distress upset and saddened Bowser even more. He's heard him speak his native language plenty of times and is still learning it, but he caught the gist of what he said.

"Mōsukoshi matte, ai. Yakusoku suru yo, ruīji, kimi o tsuredasu yo." Bowser said softly in his native tongue. He could see Luigi's face out of the light with a sad smile on it. Nodding, he pressed their foreheads together and Bowser let out a few deep chirps and clicks that seemed to calm Luigi.

"Watashi wa anata no tame ni kite imasu, watashi no nakama" was the last thing Bowser got to say before the light was pulled away from him.

Waking up, he saw his troops at their stations, and Kamek handing food to his children. "Sire, your awake." With a snap of his fingers, servants brought Bowser food and water, which he took, because he knew he had to be at his strongest. (And Luigi would get at him for not taking care of himself) After eating, he saw that all the troops be prepared for the upcoming battle.

After a while, he a message from Iggy was received. They had finished preparations on their end and they we're currently on route to the rendezvous point. With that news, he began to plan out strategies with Peach and the rest of the war council. "We should wait till all our forces are united. That way, we have our weapons ready for all the ghost we have to fight." Peach said pointing to areas on the map.

Bowser pointed to the area they would be docking. "We should go in cloaked. That way, we could get closer and ambush any stronghold Boo set up." Some agreed, but a magikoopa made him think. "Sire, what if they have magic? They would discover us and take us down." The planning got more and more stressful when ideas where thrown out but shot down by what ifs.

Bowser finally said "NO MORE WHAT IFS! We send a small defensive squad to scope out the area. When Iggy gets here with this vacuums, we distribute them and suck up every ghost we come across." This got the council to quiet down. Peach nodded in agreement. "It's the best idea we've got. We've all got our strengths and weaknesses, so make sure you cover your teammates." With that, everyone dispersed.

"Bowser, we need to talk" Peach said, her face as straight as she could make it. Looking at the princess, he remained standing, awaiting her words. "First, thank you for taking Luigi into your care." She started, "You don't know how much it means to me and especially Mario, that Luigi is safe" With a nod, Bowser kept silent to allow her to keep going. "I also want to apologize, for how we came in. Emotions were high and Mario made them drop the diversion bombs."

"Stop right there Peaches." Bowser held up his hand. "Don't get all mushy on me now. Save it for when we get Lu back. But don't worry, I forgive you." With that, he took Peach's hand and lead her to the ship bridge and left her in her seat. "Your majesty," the pilot announced. "We've arrived." Everyone looked out the windows, a white sanded beach with a rich forest took over the views. It would've looked better if the deeper the forest went the more it died.

The dead forest then opened to a large mansion on a cliff side, leading to crashing waves and jagged rocks below. Junior cringed a bit, being something out of a nightmare. Bowser looked towards the mansion, knowing that's where his mate was being held.

"Land on the beach. Then send the recon team." With that order, the airship began to land, making the final preparations for the battle to come.

Chapter Text

Mario watched as the ship landed next to the many others on the beach. He saw princess Peach and Bowser giving orders to multiple soldiers. The only time he stopped when all his children were gathered around him. Mario couldn't make out what they were talking about but he felt as if he didn't have to.

The princess' began setting up designated areas for medics and camps with the help of the troops while those in the recon party began to prepare for the trip. Junior stood at the edge of the beach, staring at the forest . It sprawled on for who knows how long, and it was so thick, it looked like a never ending darkness. Staring onto the path leading into the forest, he gripped his brush and held his mama's hat on his head.

Looking back, he saw his dad, the princesses, and Mario and all the troops gathered going over the plans while still setting up their temporary camp. This planning was taking too long in Junior's opinion. Why couldn't they rush in, go get mama back and rush out, destroying anyone in the way? But he knew they couldn't just charge in. King Boo wasn't someone to be underestimated.

Bowser watched as all the troops gathered to prepare to set out. He had made sure the troops had enough power ups and other supplies so they would be ready for any encounter. With the help of Iggy, the professor managed to make copies of the Poltergust and distributed them among the crew. Looking among his warriors and his newfound allies, Bowser felt prepared to go save his queen.

Two Koopa troopas, three Paratroopas, three Toads, Mario, Bowser and Daisy stood at the entrance. "My Army!" Bowser began, "Koopas, Goombas, Spinies! My allies! Today we march into battle to save our queen," the koopas cheered "our brother" Mario nodded "our friend" Peach and Daisy nodded in agreement while some toads cheered. Junior climbed up on his father's shoulder and said "My mother. My babbo. Our family."

The Koopalings fist bumped and hugged each other, cheering for their little brother. "The scout team will report back, the rest of us will travel in groups and surround the area." Turning around and taking the lead. "Move out!"

Spreading out, the teams stayed in the jungle, placing inconspicuous marks just in case one got lost they could find their way back to the airships. Mario insisted on going with Bowser's group. As did Daisy, Junior and the rest of the Koopalings.

It was a long while of silence when a paratroopa flew through the trees. "Sire! I have news." He landed and bowed, Bowser nodding at him. "Good. Out with it." "Team A has scouted the area of the mansion. It seems unguarded from the outside." Mario crossed his arms and shook his head "Quel fantasma is probably underestimating us." "Or they could be holding their army for when we get in their range." Peach piped up. The troopa saluted and flew off to return to his assigned team.

Junior just say on the top of his father's shell, when he heard a rustle in the bushes. Looking around, he hopped down from his spot and just started looking around. "What's wrong, son?" Bowser asked. Junior said nothing as he just looked around, just listening. Slowly, out the bush, a tall figure came out of the bush. Junior was the first to look over. "Mama?!" He exclaimed as he ran over and hug the figures legs.

Both Mario and Bowser were the first to look over. It was Luigi... or at least that's what they thought. Junior looked up and the figure was looking down at him, dawning a black hat with a green backwards L on it wearing a black mask. Junior looked into the eyes and he couldn't find nor see the calming sapphire eyes of his parent. Junior stepped back while Roy, Ludwig and Morton all stood protectively in front of him and the rest of his siblings.

"I am not your mother, child. I am the Green Thunder, the mighty Mr. L! Servant of the great King Boo!" After hearing that, Mario, Bowser and Peach all shared a collective groan. Having battled Mr. L before, they knew what he was capable of, but that it was still Luigi. "Cmon fratello. Drop that facade and let's go." Mario said walking up to him. Mr. L pulled an axe out on him and chuckled darkly. "Oh you poor red meatball." He gently pushed the axe onto Mario's neck, not enough to bring pain, but enough for him to feel the cold metal of the blade.

"Luigi isn't not here." He tossed Mario a camera. "My glorious king finally split me from that sniveling coward and I am now my own!" Bowser, Peach and Daisy gathered around to see the horrific images. This made them both scared and enraged. Mario instantly took out his own hammer and swing the axe out of the imposter's hands. "Oh you're no fun." Mr. L used his electric powers to make the axe magnetically return to his hands. "But at least this will buy him time to finish his plans." With a wide swing, Mr. L lunged and Mario countered it with his own hammer.

"You guys go! I'll deal with this!" Mario said after narrowly avoiding a axe chop to his head. The Koopalings were the first to rush through the rest of the bush with the princess Daisy and Bowser right behind them. Peach stayed behind to aid Mario. When they breached the forest, they were greeted with Toads, Koopas all battling ghost, trying to get them into the poltergust.

Junior waisted no time pulling up his mask, turning him into Shadow Mario and rushing through to get to the mansion. Roy and Morton were right behind him, Roy using his magic to make himself able to punch any ghost out the way and Morton using his hammer to bash all the ghost out of his way. "Father. While they clear the path, we can get to the mansion and they regroup with us later." Ludwig suggested. Bowser only nodded as he followed his three sons while carrying the rest of his children on his shell.

After clearing a path and breaking down the mansion front doors, Ludwig took the lead. The royal koopas followed him, ready to go and retrieve the queen.

Chapter Text

All Luigi could do was hang there, having been chained to a wall. He couldn't feel anything, other than pure fear. Recently, he started hearing bangs and muffled screams he couldn't make out. King Boo let out a loud cackle, sending Luigi deeper into his fear struck state. "Looks like the party arrived. Can't wait to get this place livened up with me new portraits." The ghost opened his mouth revealing his large, sharp teeth and his long purple tongue.

The ghost produced to drag the long appendage across the plumber's face and body while Luigi groaned, cringed and wiggled uncomfortably. Pulling the tongue back in his mouth the ghost king got up in the scared man's face. "Maybe I'll reconsider putting you up in a painting... for a while." King Boo proceeded to leave the room, a scared Luigi unsure of what he meant by those words.

"Bowser... Mario... Dove sei?"

Mario grunted as he got knocked into a tree by a kick. "Oh, come on, Red!" Mr. L taunted wiping some blood off his face. "I thought you'd have more fight in you. Don't you want to save your pathetic brother?" This made Mario mad and charged in, is firehand activate as he threw fire punches and fire balls. "Mio fratello is not pathetic! He's the kindest, courageous, gentlest, bravest soul I've never had the honor of calling my brother!" His fireballs got bigger and more hotter Mr. L was finding it a bit difficult to dodge.

"You may be him, but your not him." Mario kept in his offensive attack, hopping to keep L busy. Meanwhile, Bowser and the Koopalings had made it inside the mansion, Ludwig leading them down a variety of halls. All the Koopalings decided to move on their own, not wanting to weigh their father down with all his heavy armor, as much as he insisted he was fine. "How much farther is it?" Wendy and Larry asked. It felt like they've been searching for hours.

"Shh!" Iggy shushed them as they all crammed into a nearby room as two ghost floated past, presumably patrolling for intruders. They family took a breath of relief. Ludwig wasted no time quietly reopening the door to see if the coast was clear. Motioning to his family to follow, he quietly raced out the room back on the the trail.

Racing up more stairs and down more halls, Ludwig stopped. "The spell says he's here but there's nothing in this hallway." He stamped his foot in a frustrated huff. "You did your best son. We wouldn't have been able to find him." Bowser put his hand on his shoulder. Everyone started looking around only to find nothing. They're were almost close to giving up, when Lemmy came up with a idea. "Wait. We haven't checked everywhere." He said, summoning his balance ball. Looking at him confused, the family let him go on. With a running start, he jumped into a cartwheel into a somersault, he bounced off his ball and off Bowser's shoulder and onto a part of the ceiling where Ludwig said the spell lead them.

With a good double kick, he popped open the spot and it revealed a attic space. When Lemmy landed back on his ball on both feet his arms out to stick his landing, and a enthusiastic "Ta da!", the attic pull stairs came down for them. With a round of applause, he made his ball disappear with confetti and bowed.

"See, Ludwig. You were right! We just gotta go up!" Lemmy said as he was the first to bound up the stars silently with Larry and Junior hot on his heels. The others went up, with Ludwig and Bowser bringing up the back. Taking cover behind some boxes, the family saw Luigi, chained up to the wall and passed out. "Lu!" Bowser ran up to go get him, but then the floor started changing and out of nowhere, a blast of purple energy hit him in the chest plate, knocking him back.

King Boo appeared out of nowhere and laughed. "Oh, Bowser. Did you really think I'd let you take away my prized enemy and possession?" He floated in front of Luigi, revealing his long purple tongue to the koopas. "Boo, release him right now!" Bowser growled standing in front of his kids, each having both the look of slight fear, yet ready to fight. "Oh, now why would I do that?" The ghost king taunted. "This is just the start. I will gain control of three kingdoms when I lock their monarchs in paintings, then the rest of the world!"

"Not if we have anything to say!" Roy and jumped up and covered his fist in magic in a attempt to punch the ghost but King Boo hand used his power to block Roy, just so close of getting a hood hit in. The force of King Boo breaking his shield knocked him backs landing on his shell in front of his father. Bowser waisted no time locking and loading his bazooka, comically called a Bowzooka, when it was given to him, and launching a shot at the ghostly king.

King Boo used his powers to warp the room, making the floor uneven and jagged. This sent everyone spreading out. Junior dove behind a section of the floor that made good cover. He watched as his siblings and father attempted to hit the ghost king but only ended up getting thrown off by his powers. He then looked and saw Luigi. With determination in his eyes, he grabbed the bag of power ups from Larry, who had taken cover nearby, gripped his brush and ran over to his mama using the distorted ground as cover.

Bowser was getting more and more angry as this battle went on. His Bowzooks was knocked away from him by a blast from King Boo. Running up close best he could, he began throwing punches, claw swipes, and swinging his hammer. "Oh, Bowser. Why can't you just join me?" King Boo asked with a growing smirk. "We could rule the kingdoms, no, the world, no, THE ENTIRE GALAXY TOGETHER!" He exclaimed with a sharp toothed smile, it growing more and more crazed.

Bowser growled, getting a good punch, scratch and hammer swing in the king's face, sending him flying into a wall. "I would never want to rule the Galaxy with you. I've renounced my evil when I met my queen. You threaten our peace and for that I must eliminate you!" King Boo looked shocked for a second, then grew a angry look and blasted Bowser into a wall, creating a big hole and having some chunks of wall fall on him. "Dad!" Looking over, King Boo saw Junior, and immediately rushed towards him. Bowser was grunting to get up when he saw his enemy go after his son. "No!"

Before Boo could close the distance any more, Roy and Morton came in from the side and knocked the king off course. "Keep goin, kid!" Roy said. "We got ya back!" Taking off running to hit the ghost again. Morton looked back, nodded and ran off to join his brother. Junior took off, the rest of his siblings passing him by, all with words of encouragement. With steel focus he ran, dodging the ever warping ground.

Using the ground as platforms, Junior jumped to the wall, slung paint at the chains and in swift motions, managed to get Luigi down. Running into his mama before he fell, Junior attempted to catch him as the slid on the ground. "Mama! Mama! Cmon stay with me!" Junior pleaded as he rummaged through the bag of power ups and pulled out a mushroom. Carefully opening his mouth, he put the mushroom in Luigi's mouth and helped him chew and swallow.

Nothing happened what felt like a long time. Was he too late? Did the mushroom not work? Tears began to threaten their way out of his eyes when he saw the mushroom take effect, Luigi's body glowing slightly with the healing effect. Groaning softly, Luigi opened his eyes slowly. The first thing he saw was Junior trying to keep it together but his little hiccups and falling tears were going against him.

The little koopa instantly dove into Luigi's chest, letting his tears and sobs go. Luigi hugged him back. "Figlio mio, ringrazia le stelle. Are you okay?" Junior just nodded and wiped his tears. Crashes and fire flying brought them back to the present. "Let's go help your father and your siblings then we'll get emotional." With his own nod, Junior gave Luigi the bag of power ups and placed his hat back on its owner's head before gripping his brush and running off to rejoin the fight.

Running after him, he was startled when he saw Mario and Daisy come in and attempt to fight King Boo as well. Luigi saw the crack in the wall Bowser created and got a idea. Charging up a thunderhand, he struck some bolts by the ghostly king, gaining his attention, as well as the attention as everyone else. Bowser was overjoyed seeing his queen again, while Mario was overjoyed seeing his brother again.

King Boo growled. "How'd you get out?! No matter. I'll deal with you myself!" Rushing towards the plumber. Bowser, Mario and Daisy rushed to help but Luigi just jumped out of the king's way, striking him with a charged up punch and knock the ghost into the crack and right out the wall.

The rest of the team grouped up at the hole, to see the crater the ghost King created. Luigi handed out Tanooki leaves to Mario and Bowser. "Let's end this."

Chapter Text

Luigi watched as Bowser powered up with the tanooki leaf, grabbed his kids and floated down the best he could. He was about to follow suit when Mario placed a hand on his shoulder. "Bro.." he began, his head tilted down, the brim of his hat covering his eyes. "I'm so sorry for leaving you there that day... and for the way I came back. I was a jerk and not paying attention to how you felt.." Daisy was listening in until Peach dragged her out for the boys to talk.

Mario was about to speak again but Luigi cut him off. "Bro, we'll talk about it later okay?" He said softly. "Let's focus on this first." With that, Luigi absorbed the tanooki leaf and fluttered down to the ground. Mario followed suit, ready to be by his brother's side again. Down on the ground, King Boo began to rise and began to see almost all his ghost have been captured.

The ghost king was about to get up and attack but a fire blast kept him down. Looking over, the Koopa king was keeping him pinned down. It's when the princesses and the brothers joined them on the ground, he blasted them with his crown, knocking away their power ups. Bowser managed to get the kids away in time. The boo laughed. "My ghost my be captured now," he began "but I will just release them again. I WILL take over the kingdoms! You will all perish in my paintings!" He bared his teeth, and lest out a ghostly roar "YOU HAVE FAILED!"

Luigi stepped up, confidence just radiating off him. "Ascolta, tu ghoul. You won't stop us from beating you" he declared. "I've captured you on my own. Now if got La mia famiglia by my side." Mario, Daisy, Bowser and Peach stood around Luigi ready to fight along side. Even the kids were ready to lend a hand.

With that declaration, the battle had begun. Mario ran up first, flinging fireballs around the ghost king, who just simply dodged and cackled. "Is that all you got, red?!" The ghost taunted. Mario just smirked as a orange hand fan and a closed parasol struck him from both sides of his face. Looking up, he saw Peach with the parasol open over her head and Daisy with the fan open, her stance ready to launch. "You talk too much" Daisy taunted moving her hand in the 'come on' gesture, while fanning herself a bit.

That small action riled the ghost king up he shot a energy beam from his crown that was countered with the combination of Mario's fire, Peach's heart magic and Daisy's flower magic. The trio split up and went around King Boo who lashed his tongue at them. Out of nowhere, he received three more blows to the face. Growling he turned to see who dared attack him this time. It was Roy, Wendy and Ludwig. "Just give up, King Boo." Wendy shouted as she tossed her rings around the ghost causing him to move.

"Like I'm taking orders from some adopted quote unquote 'princess' with subpar looks!" The koopaling princess gasped and her brothers stood in front of her growling, ready to defend their sister's honor. The ghost charged for the trio, but Luigi and Bowser intercepted him, focusing his attention on them. "Yokumo musume no koto o son'nafūni iu no ne!" Bowser growled and released a fire ball right in the ghost's face.

Kamek flew in on his broom. "Luigi! Catch!" Luigi looked over and the magikoopa used his magic to throw over a poltergust g-00, with Gooigi out helping everyone else. Luigi caught it, put it on and held it ready. Junior, along with Morton and Larry, managed to get King Boo in a position where everyone else proceeded to blast him with their respective powers.

Using his crown, he charged up a powerful blast knocking everyone away, creating larger cracks in the ground. Luigi was quick to get up, seeing the state everyone was in, charged with his thunderhand, called out to the ghost. "Boo! I'm over here! You want me? Come and get me!" He called as he ran off towards the cliff by the mansion. "You don't tell me about coming and getting you insignificant green speck!" He shouted, baring his sharp teeth. "I'm on the edge of coming, getting and taking over the world!" He then rushed towards the the plumber, finally ready to end this fight.

Bowser groaned as he got up. He managed to shield his kids enough they wouldn't be severely hurt. They still had some scrapes and bruises, but otherwise alright. Bowser looked up and grunted, forcing himself to stand. He watched as he saw King Boo fly off towards the mansion again. A quick turn to see Mario struggling to get up, Peach and Daisy supporting each other, while toads and Koopa troopas began loading all the ghost into a container the professor had brought with him, left him worried.

Luigi ran around the mansion, his legs aching from moving around so much the last few hours. But he couldn't give up. He couldn't let King Boo destroy his family. He only ran a few distances behind the mansion when he got launched by a explosion. Rolling on the ground then getting back up, he came face to face with the ghost king.

"You just don't know when to quit do you?!" He screamed. Luigi rolled his neck and smirked "Get it from my brother. It runs in the family!" He let out another electric charged wind burst from the poltergust with hit it's target. King boo began materializing bombs and magic blast forcing Luigi to duck and dodge. A singular blast managed to hit him right in the arm. King Boo cackled and menacingly floating his way. Luigi had began backing up, as a instinct. He backed up and he felt he reached the edge of the cliff.

"Well well. My little plumber nemesis. It seems you are out of ground." The ghost chuckled, hoping to send fear into Luigi. Luigi was scared. That he would admit, but he never let it truly hinder him. His fear, to himself anyway, is what made him Luigi. Made him stronger. That, and also his family, they gave him the strength. Mario, despite his faults in the last few months, had been there for him since day one, Daisy being his partner in crime, but let's be honest, he's her partner, Peach was there best she can and Bowser... despite their past, he grew to love the Koopa king.

That much they both knew. He grew to love the kids and the rest of the Koopa Kingdom even if he hadn't met everyone. Those he had met, like Terry, who became his personal guard and good friend, the chefs in the kitchen, the librarian, all his new family. This charged him up plenty. He gave his poltergeist a large jolt and it unleashed a large gust of charged air. King Boo countered with his own blast of energy. The beam collided, a visual spectacle to behold, as dangerous as it was.

Bowser and the others saw the beams collided as they made their way to the back. He told the kids to stay with Kammy while Kamek came with him. Then out of nowhere, the beams struck the ground and dragged in a line and blasted a part of the mansion. Both looked tired, King Boo had floated down and his tongue fell out his mouth. Using the final bit of strength he had, Luigi sucked up the tongue tip with the poltergust, and slammed the ghost into the ground 5 times. He reeled in the ghost king, how had a look of anger and fear in his face. "This is what you get for messing with La mia famiglia, tu fantasma" Luigi said staring into his enemy's eyes. "Don't ever come after us again" and with that. Luigi sucked the ghost king up into the poltergust, and it spit up the gem from atop his crown. Picking it up, Luigi charged his thunderhand once more, and it caused the gem to break. Sighing in relief, it was over. They had won. Or so they thought.

Looking up, he saw his Koopa king, his brother and his princess friends running towards him, then a grumbling sound echoed through. The cracks in the ground from the fight, became more prominent. The ground started shaking and then started breaking. Luigi, as tired as he was, and the weight of the poltergust, began to run towards his friends and family. The ground was breaking faster with each step. Bowser could only watch as his queen ran for his life to get back to them. He and Mario both reached out steaming for Luigi to jump. With the energy he had, Luigi gave his best jump.... But it wasn't enough.

It was as if the world had went into slow motion. Luigi watched as his lover's and his brother's hands were so close yet so far from his reach he could only watch their fear stricken faces as he fell, the water depts wanting to swallow him whole. He closed his eyes, sad he couldn't say goodbye to his family, and thank them for what they've done.

Suddenly, it felt like everything stopped. Luigi slowly opened one eye and he was met overlooking the vast sea. Opening both eyes he looked up he saw Mario and Junior both holding his hand. "We got you Lou!" Mario said straining a bit. "Hold on, mama! We're gonna get you back up!" Junior said trying to pull a bit. Luigi looked up a bit more and saw Peach, Daisy and the koopaling create a person chain (couldn't really call it a human chain since only three were human but hey, no one's complaining) with Bowser and Roy at the top of the now broken cliff making sure everyone is stable.

It began as a slow pull up, till Bowser decided to yank everyone up and everyone fell back onto solid ground, Luigi ending up on top of Bowser. When they sat up and opened their eyes, Bowser, surprisingly, was the one to start shedding tears. He tried to hold them back but he just let go. Luigi also began to let loose his own tears and began to hug Bowser. Bowser lowered his head to muzzle away the humans tears. Luigi grabbed Bowser's face and planted multiple kisses across it. "Amore mio..." Luigi whispered. "Watashi no ai..." Bowser whispered right back. "Thanks for saving me.." Luigi said, tears till in his eyes. Bowser chuckled wiping some of his tears and Luigi's. "I'd save you until I can no longer draw breath."

"Mama?" The two looked over to see the Koopalings looking to make sure it's all real. Luigi pushed himself off Bowser to greet the kids but Daisy vaulted over them and squeezed Luigi in a tight hug. "Oh my stars, your okay!" She exclaimed, her hip on the hug making Luigi turn red, trying to breathe. "D-dai.. can't breathe.." Daisy then let go, allowing Peach to give him a more gentler hug. "Thank goodness we got here in time." Luigi nodded the gently pulled away to look at his brother, hiding his face behind his signature red cap.

Walking over, he adjusted his brother's hat and pulled him into a hug. "It may take a while to forgive how you left that way, but your still mio fratello. And I love you." Those words broke Mario and he started bawling into his younger brother. "Mi dispiace.!" Mario repeated over and over. Luigi hugged his brother before letting him go to Peach to gather himself. Luigi went back and stood by Bowser and got on his knees and opened his arms to the Koopalings.

Junior was the first to cry and rush into Luigi's arms. "Mama!" He cried. "We saved you! Did ya see?" He said tears streaming down his face. "Sì figlio mio. You and your siblings were so strong and brave. Come the rest of you Bambini!" Luigi said holding out an arm for the other. Larry, Wendy, Lemmy and Morton all charged in and knocked Luigi back a bit, all laughing and crying. Bowser helped him up and hugged them all, still sitting. Ludwig had walked into the hug, keeping it together best he can. Roy joined in too, secretly wiping tears while dragging Iggy with him, who didn't even fight.

It was all over. Everything was saved and as it should be. Everyone gathered to watch the sun set on the horizon, knowing everything will be normal. They had begun to leave, after gathering the troops and the captured ghost. While carrying Luigi in his arms, his kids on his shell, with Peach, Mario and Daisy waking beside him, he let out the three words he wanted to say to his queen.

"Marry me, Luigi."

It caught everyone around them off guard.

"Yes" was the final thing Luigi said before he fell asleep in his fiancé's arms, his healing process beginning, along with their new life journey.

Chapter Text

Bowser was standing in his room, combing his hair to the side. Roy, Iggy, Lemmy and Ludwig had already gotten themselves ready and were helping their father finish his outfit. "Dad, you have to relax" Lemmy said helping his father comb down. "S'not so simple Lemm" Roy responded casually. "He's marrying Ma, and he wants to be perfect." Ludwig combed his own hair out. "Just stay calm father. Everything will go smoothly. Now I have to go check with the bands." Taking his leave, he left his brothers and Bowser, who had managed to get his hair down and his clothes straightened, ready to wed his mate.

Elsewhere in the castle, Luigi was sitting at a vanity with the help of Peach, Daisy and Wendy, getting his outfit together with Junior, Morton and Larry looking on. "I'm so nervous.." Luigi said tapping his foot nervously. "Mama, relax. Sure, Daddy is a bit rough around the edges but he means well." Wendy said as she painted his nails. Looking at himself in the mirror, he gently nodded. A small knock at the door caused them all to look.

Kamek peaked his head through the door. "Your majesty? Sorry to disturb but your brother wants you to see something." Looking amongst each other, Luigi stood and slid on the flats he was going to wear and walked towards the door. Junior tried to follow but Kamek stopped him. With a pat on the head and a reassuring smile, Kamek closed the door.

Walking into the room Kamek lead him to, he was greeted to the sight of his brother, and the rest of his family from Brooklyn. "Ma? Pa?..." Luigi couldn't believe it, they were all here. Uncle Arthur and Uncle Tony, Aunt Marie, Niece Nora, and grandpa. "Oh Lu! My big boy!" Ma was already had tears threatening to fall as she hugged him. "You were ever gonna tell us you were getting hitched nephew?" Uncle Arthur smirked. "Yeah, would've brought your mother's wedding dress!" Uncle Tony joked. Marie slapped both of them upside the head and both uncles responded with a "Hey!"

Luigi was still hugging his mother, Kamek standing just to the side, a smile on his face. "I asked Kamek to help me get them here." Mario said, putting a hand on his brother's shoulder. "They would've loved to see and give you away at your wedding, while ma joys at the fact she had grandkids." That made Ma instantly perk up. "Speaking of, where are my bambini piccoli?" Luigi chuckled and said, "They're still getting ready."

His dad suddenly got up and walked over, an unreadable expression on his face. "I may not agree with you marrying the guy who almost destroyed our city..." he started, Luigi having a small bundle of nerves overtake. "...but I do care about my boy's happiness." Luigi let out a needed sigh. "Mario says you managed to changed the guy. Even still, he hurts you, we'll put him in his place." With that he brought, Mario, Ma and Luigi into a hug. "Proud of you son."

"Lu, you sleeping with this guy yet? How's it fit?" Uncle Tony asked. "With how long you've been together, how are you still walking?" A collective "ugh" came from around the room, even Kamek, which earned the uncles another slap in the head from Marie.

After that Luigi had to usher off to finish get ready, the rest of the family went down to their seats. The koopaling had gone down to their seats, except for Ludwig, who was covering the music for the ceremony, and Junior, who hadn't left Luigi's side. Ma had immediately began to hug and kiss her new grandkids, them embracing the love from their grandmother on their human side.

Bowser stood at the alter, Kammy standing at a podium, being the officiant for the ceremony. Right on cue, Ludwig began to play the Bridal March, with his classical flare and elegance. With that, Luigi began his walk down the isle, his dad on his left, Mario on his right. Bowser was absolutely stunned. He managed to have Shelloise work with the ladies in the Lake Kingdom to make the wedding dress. It was a guttering green, with an emerald placed in the center. It gave off the look of both a suit and a dress. The lace gloves were the purest of white, holding a bouquet of lilies, fire flowers and ice flowers. Bowser couldn't have smiled any wider, finally being able to Mary his one true love.

Luigi almost stopped walking when he saw how dashing Bowser was. The suit he went for was similar to the one he used when he tried to marry Peach, but had it's differences. Instead of pure while, it was a dark black with a red button up shirt, his bands and chocker replaced with golden ones, his top hat black holding both his and Luigi's iconic logos.

Once up on stage, Luigi and Bowser faced each other. "You look beautiful, my love." Bowser said. "You look ever dashing, mi amore." Luigi replied. "Friends, Family, allies, thank you for coming" Kammy began. "We are gathered here today to bare witness to the union of Bowser Koopa and Luigi Mario in holy matrimony. The couple has written their own vows in preparation for this event."

Bowser fiddled his tie, and cleared his throat. "Luigi, before we met, I was in a dark place, both figuratively and literally." That gathered a chuckle from a few then he continued. "After what happened, I didn't know if I could love again. Then I realized, the person whom I was chasing wasn't out out of love. I didn't know what real love was till I met you, officially." There was a audible 'aww' that sounded like it came from Daisy. "With this marriage, I forever promise to keep you and our children happy, pave a better future for us and our kingdom."

"Bowser, mi amore, my journey with you has been the wildest ride of my life, and I've been traveling with an adventure hungry brother for years." This got a laugh out of people again then Luigi continued. "Part of me thought I'd never love. I always had crushes but never acted on them. But you were able to allow me to feel love. You gave me the chance of parenthood I never thought I'd get. I love you and I love our children and I vow to keep you close to my heart and aid in our kingdom's development, for the future to come.

Kammy bowed. "Thank you your majesties that was beautiful. Now for the rings." With that, Junior came out with a velvet pillow holding two rings, both silver with a Diamond sitting in the outer center. Holding the pillow up to both his parents, Junior gave the biggest smile he could. Both took a ring and said "With this ring, I pledge my heart to you."

The couple placed the rings on each other's fingers and held hands. "If anyone objects to this union, speak now." Moments of silence followed. "Then with the stars as our witnesses and the power in me, I hereby announce the union of King Bowser and Queen Luigi!" Kammy finished and with a flick of her wand, also aided with the help of Kamek and Lemmy, and professor E Gadd with his technology, fireworks were set off as the couple kissed.

Everyone went and cheered. Magic sparkles and flower petals rained down from magikoopa and paratroopas. Junior jumped into his parents arms, happy to have both a mama and a papa. The rest of the Koopalings came up with hugs and happy tears when Kylie Koopa came and gathered them together for a royal photo.

Now united, the kingdoms will see a bright future, happy allies, and a large, happy and healthy family. That's more than Bowser and Luigi could ask for, not that the king and the plumber have wed.
