Work Text:

He materializes in a lab room in the Deep Log that had many computers that were used to keep track of the errors popping in. Sitting at one of them was a blue haired female reploid (RiCO) typing away at the computer. She recognized the noise behind her and turned around in her chair to see her brother standing looking down with his fist clenched.

“Oh hey Mr. ViA. Where have you been?” She asked him.

“…”

ViA said nothing and just walked out of the room almost like he was ignoring her and walked out of the room, the clanking of his armored boots being heard throughout the halls. He stormed over to his room, opening the door with a hand scanner then stepping in. Little did he know that he was being watched not by RiCO, but by another reploid that heard his arrival.

He quickly closed the door behind him, he first took off his helmet, revealing bangs that went down to his shoulders and a tuff of hair in the middle of his head. He then leaned his back against his door looking down at his helmet, clenching it tightly in his silent rage. Thoughts raced through his head, everything he had known up until now was about to come to an end, he knew he could never escape his destiny but he never really thought it would be coming so soon. He couldn’t keep this charade and disguise any longer and it disgusted him to his very frame and programming, a rage that he had not felt in a long time. As he began to think about his inevitable fate, a purple aura began to glow from his frame but before he could finish his thoughts, a knock on his door broke him out of his enraged trance and the glow went away.

“RiCO, I am not in the right state of mind at the moment, please leave me alone.” ViA said with a tone that was a mix of disappointment and anger. After a couple of seconds of silence, a voice could be heard from behind the door, but it wasn’t the one he was expecting.

“Come on ViA, open the door please, I could see you had something on your mind from all the way down the hall.” The voice said from the other side.

He knew exactly whose voice that was on the other side of that door and decided to quickly try and clear his mind and put on his happy attitude. He opened the door now inches away from a female reploid with long pink and blue hair and pink eyes.

“Oh, hello Erato, sorry about that, I just had a lot on my mind at the moment, but I will be fine.” ViA said trying to hide his rage from earlier.

Eratoeir (who clearly saw through the façade) simply said nothing and let herself in with ViA immediately moving out of her way. She closed the door behind her and turned back to ViA.

“ViA, I can see right through those irises of yours, I can sense that something is wrong, I know you aren’t really good at hiding stuff (at least from me) and I can see right through the façade.” she said as she walked over to a bed in the corner of his room, sitting down on the edge of it and patting her hand to her side. “Spill the info, you know you can tell me anything.”

ViA (knowing that he wasn’t going to convince her otherwise) simply sighed and walked over to the bed and sat next to her.

“I-I felt that feeling again, that feeling of everything coming to an end, I never thought it would be so soon. ViA said. “I fear that one day, I will be completely forgotten.” He continued. “I felt like I’ve done so much yet so little at the same time.”

“I’ve gotten too far just to accept my fate, to let this get to me, but it’s just so hard when you know exactly how things are going to turn out no matter how you try to change things.” ViA simply stated.

I feel like I have no control anymore. Am I doing the right thing?” He questioned out loud. He was going to continue but was cut off when he felt Erato’s hand on his shoulder.

“ViA, I’m sorry you have to feel this way, if it means anything you can trust me to keep your secret till the time comes. You are your own person with your own identity, you been training The Player and RiCO very well and your cause is good, you are not alone in your efforts.” She said with her face inches away from his and looking him dead in the eyes.

ViA gave a look that said that he still had doubts. “How do I know you won’t forget about me?” ViA bluntly asked.

Eratoeir looked at him before giving off a slight chuckle.

“Simple, ever since RiCO unlocked our hunter programs, I’ve really gotten to see you for who you truly are, you’re very passionate about your cause and its very admirable, I love talking to you when we have down time, plus you’re really good at looking after my siblings while I’m away.” She explained.
“Despite our rocky start when we first met, you’ve shown me just how much of a goofy and jovial reploid you are, and I really like that about you and you’re a great brother figure to Angie.” She said as she began to wrap her arms around ViA and pull him in for a hug. “I truly do care about you ViA, with every bolt in my reploid frame, I will support you no matter what decision you decide to make, whether it’s to fulfil or go against your destiny, I will be there by your side till the end.” She kept him in her arms as she heard something.

ViA (with his emotions at an all-time high) broke down, tears beginning to form from his eyes as he hugged Erato, gripping her tight as he cried into her shoulder. She let out a sigh of relief as she then began to stroke his long hair as he continued to let it all out confirming to him that she would always be there for him. After a couple of minutes of this, their gripping hug began to loosen as they pulled away from each other, now staring face to face only inches apart, both staring into each other’s eyes.

“Thank you, Erato, this meant a lot to me and I’m glad I have someone like you to talk to and just vent to. I’m supposed to be the calm and collected one yet you’re the one here comforting me.” ViA said in a joking tone.

Erato smiled at him. “It’s no problem ViA, you know you can tell me anything.” She said as she began to get up from the bed and walk to the door. “I best get back to my room, have a good night ViA.” She said as she went to open the door but before she could, a hand on her shoulder made her stop. She turned around seeing ViA grabbing onto her shoulder.

“Before you go, there is one more thing I want to get off my chest before I go through with this.” ViA said, motioning her back to the bed.

They both sat back down with Erato wondering what ViA had to say.

“Well Erato, I just want to thank you again for the emotional support and helping me, and I’m thankful for that and all but there is just one thing I want to let out. I truly do feel like I can trust you with anything and this has been on my mind for a couple weeks now but.” ViA paused.

“I don’t know if you feel the same way but, I feel closer to you than anyone else in the whole Deep Log despite only knowing each other for a couple months, I love spending time with you and your siblings, conversing about what’s going on in the Deep Log, and just being with you in general.” ViA said as his face began to blush. “What I’m trying to say Erato is that I really like you and I want to be more than just friends if that’s okay with you.” ViA said.

Erato had to take a moment to process what he had just told her but when she did, she simply let out a smile and a hum as she put her right hand around ViA’s head. She closed her eyes as she pulled him in as her lips connected with his face. ViA tried to return the gesture despite having no mouth pushing where his lips would be up against her and closing his eyes as well. In this moment, all their problems were thrown to the side, The Deep Log, and their inevitable fate. All that mattered in the instance was the calm and passionate love in the room. The kiss persisted for a couple minutes before they both pulled away from each other and just looked at each other’s blushing faces. No words needed to be exchanged as they went back in for another kiss.
