Childe Kisses a Statue

Summary:

Childe is about to leave Liyue when he suddenly thinks about the love of his life and begins to already miss him. He sees the statue of Zhongli and gets an idea.

Notes:

Highly inspired by this TikTok I found! https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8F6eXoV/

I thought it would make a really cute (possible sexy) story! I might add a smutty scene, but I’ve never written one before and am kinda anxious. But I do have an idea on how it could go. So stay tuned for the potential smut! 😁

Work Text:

Zhongli and Childe have been flirting—not very subtly—for a while now, but nothing has been official yet; even though everyone around them already thought they were an item.

A warm breeze blew through Childe’s scarf making him look like a mysterious wanderer traveling the roads in the dead of night. The moon was almost full making it shine brighter than usual, lighting his path out of Liyue.

He stumbled across one of the Statues of the Seven. Zhongli—or rather Morax—looked so handsome and a little sexy. He watched as the silvery beams from the moon shone onto the statue making it glow. His eyes trailed along the toned muscles on the statue's arms and abdomen that were being accentuated by the luminous light; his mouth watered, until he remembered he was staring at a statue.

A twinge in Childe’s heart pulled him out of his trance. All of a sudden he remembered the time he and the traveler were joking around. “Childe, if you miss Zhongli so much… go kiss his statue!” They both laughed it off but he'd be lying if he said he wasn’t a bit tempted; a bit curious. He chuckled to himself but ultimately decided against the idea.

He walked away a bit from the statue, but every time he looked back, the statue seemed to have this ethereal glow trying to pull him back. The temptation worked, Childe sprinted back to the statue.

His eyes trailed the cold, stone body. Am I really going to do this? He thought. Eyes then landing on the lips that—although made of stone—shined in the moonlight.

I’ve gone insane, I’ve finally cracked.

He gazed towards the statue one last time and jumped into ‘Statue Zhongli’s’ lap, somewhat straddling it. The feeling of the rock against his skin was a bit cold and rough leaving little red scratches whenever he shifted his body. His thoughts went back to the memory of his and the traveler’s conversation again. “All you have to do is pretend it’s actually Zhongli. Simple enough!” The traveler spoke as if it was the easiest, most non embarrassing thing to do, but if anyone caught him, he might just die on the spot!

Back to reality, he decided to say “fuck it” it was the middle of the night and no one was around. He held the status face with both hands, and just went straight into the kiss. It was really cold against his lips at first but warmed up the longer he stayed there. His mind started thinking about if this had been the real Zhongli, what would he think? What would he do? His hands traveled from ‘statue Zhongli’s’ face, to his upper chest; even went a bit lower until he hit the hem of the statues' pants. his head cleared and he remembered this wasn’t actually the man he longed for. His face was flushed and he felt this heat in his stomach. He had to stop, this was getting to be too much.

Meanwhile:
Zhongli sat at his desk sorting through the pile of papers; from contracts to bills (though Childe usually helped him with those). It was getting late, so Zhongli made his nightly tea. He sat at his table and watched the moon through the window as he slowly sipped his herbal tea.

His first sip was a bit too hot, burning his lips and tongue. But the odd thing was, his lips still tingled even after the burning sensation had passed. It was strange; he’d never felt this feeling before. In his confusion, he set his tea cup down and went to the bathroom. He looked in the mirror, checking his lips to see if they looked swollen or red, but found nothing. Maybe there was mint in this mixture of tea? He thought.

He sat back at his table watching the moon, the tingling sensation still ever present; but it then suddenly came to a stop. He sighed a breath of relief. It wasn’t long though until the tingling came back; but this time, it wasn’t just his lips. The sensation traveled from his lips to his upper chest, around his now hardened nipples, then it went further, and further, and further… till it stopped again, right above the hem of his pants.

He was officially freaked out. He thought it could have been the wind that somehow made him feel this, though that was a long shot; his windows weren’t even open. Even though the tingling sensation had gone, a different kind of feeling had taken place, one that he’d only felt around a certain ginger.

His face turned a deep red as he envisioned Childe being the one caressing his body like that. He didn’t want it to stop, he wanted more. It had taken some time for him to realize that he was indeed infatuated with the man, but he feared Childe didn’t feel the same way. The tingling returned, only for a second though, like a kiss goodbye.

He couldn’t handle the curiosity any longer, he would find whatever the source of this was.

Back at the statue:
Childe felt a little disgusted towards himself, he hated to admit that he got turned on by a fucking statue. What would Zhongli think if he had seen him do this, he’d probably be disgusted as well. He hopped down from the statue, but he hadn’t hit the ground. It took him a second to realize that someone had caught him. Someone must have seen him and ran over. Dear Archons, if you can hear my prayers, please grant me this one wish and kill me. His face flushed a deep crimson. He was being held bridal style by a stranger who just happened to catch him at the worst moment.

“Childe?” A familiar deep voice whispered in Childe’s ear, his hot breath hit Childe’s neck making him shiver.

Childe looked up to see who had caught him. It was none other than Zhongli, the Geo Archon himself. Happiness warmed his heart for a second before it dropped into his stomach. This was… Zhongli. Childe moved his hands to cover his face from the embarrassment.

“S–so how long have you been there?” He felt so flustered.

“We’ll let’s see–”

“Actually, never mind, I don’t think I want to know.” Childe laughed anxiously. “A–are you going to put me down now?”

All Zhongli said was “No.” and started walking away from the statue.
