The Butterfly forces have won the Dragonfly revolt, the kingdoms allied to the Butterfly cause were liberated, but were left in crippled states, while the kingdoms that were allied to the Dragonfly cause surrendered and willingly got annex by the Butterfly kingdom in return their leaders were pardoned for any war crimes that were committed during the Dragonfly revolt, the Butterfly kingdom gained new territories, raising their population to 50k, Queen Festivia works hard to rebuild her kingdom and restore peace to the land, the Butterfly kingdom would slowly grow into a superpower in the region.
Meanwhile at the Magma mountains, Asterid rallies her exiled her army, she had the 8k Nargunian warriors clear out lava filled areas to make room for settlements and hunt the native creatures for food, the Magma mountains also have Charcoal trees that bore burn nuts that had drinkable fluids (burn nuts are like coconuts), so she had her soldiers cut them down and build a settlement on the mountains they were on and had the Burn nuts collected and stored, then they scrapped one of the Giant magical mechs to build a forge, where they melted down the cannons and reforged them into mining equipment which they use to build mines and mined the mountain of its vast amount of resources, they used the resources to build a castle called, Dragonfly castle, it was built right on a cliff edge that looked over a lava lake.
In her new castle, in front of an assembly of people, Asterid proclaimed a new kingdom, the Dragonfly kingdom, a kingdom that would forever challenge the Butterfly kingdom, and would not rest the power of the Butterfly kingdom was shattered forever, Asterid then crowned herself, Queen Asterid Dragonfly.
As years pass by, the newly founded Dragonfly kingdom grew, the settlement grows into a city, they would use the airships to travel to the mountains and built more cities on them and the Nargunian warriors would build Gondola lifts to connect each of the mountains, more mines were established making the Dragonfly kingdom rich in resources.
Dragonfly people slowly began to adapt to the Magma mountains and developed a militaristic like culture; as a decade passed, a new generation was born, Asterid would have a daughter named Runica Dragonfly (oc character), when Runica was old enough, Asterid had her daughter trained in fierce combat, political intrigue, when she turned 14 Asterid would personally train her to one day succeed her and wield the Dragonfly Hilt and wage war upon on the Butterfly family.
Meanwhile, Festivia would too start a family, she would get married and have two daughters, the oldest Crescenta, the youngest Dirhhennia, she would have her daughters trained in the magical arts, she would have Crescenta study politics, and some years pass and Crescenta was given the wand at the age of 14, Festivia would then personal trained her to one day become queen.
Meanwhile in the Magma mountains, by the second generation, the Dragonfly kingdom had managed expanded to the ground surface, towns and villages were constructed by lava rivers and lakes, the kingdom grew too large to be govern by one person, so Asterid created four vassals families to help govern the territories, the Axen family,(a family of warriors) the Mineril family,(a family of miners), the Smeltson family, (a family of metal makers and forgers) the Gardenetta family,(a family of Charcoal tree planters and care takers); Asterid gave out land to each of the four families to govern.
Runica got married to man named Vonspire (oc character) and would have a daughter with him named Axeandra (oc character).
Meanwhile, Crescenta also got married to Emily KelpBottom of the Waterfolk kingdom and had a daughter with her named Rhina.
Crescenta would helped Festivia in maintaining the peace and cooperation of Mewman kingdoms; with Crescenta's help, Festivia was able organized the first ever, Silver Bell ball, the building that hired the Silver Bell ball was built near Silver Lake, monarchs and their royal heirs attended the Silver Bell ball, While the Monarchs talk to each other about diplomacy and politics, the royal heirs danced with each other, the first Silver Bell ball was a success, the monarchs loved it and requested that it be held again once every year, Festivia agreed to their request and was happy about the results of the Silver bell ball.
As more years passed and Both Festivia and Asterid were on their death beds, Festivia and Asterid would speak their regrets to their daughters, Festivia told Crescenta how she regretted how she and her sister fought and asked her to not repeat history with Dirhhennia and had her promise to protect the Butterfly kingdom from the forces of evil,
While Asterid told Runica how she regretted not killing Festivia when she had the chance and made Her swear an oath to never rest till the Butterfly family was crushed and their lands burned to ashes.
Later, they both died; both kingdoms held funerals for their respective queens.
Festivia's body was given a burial and Crescenta gave eulogy at Festivia's funeral, and highlighted her mother's good deeds and hard work during the Dragonfly wars; and to honor those who died in the Dragonfly Revolt Crescenta commissioned a Memorial wall to be built and inscribed with the names of the fallen soldiers and civilians.
While Asterid's body was cremated and the ashes were placed in a urn, her daughter Runica gave a speech honoring her mother's legacy and how Asterid made them a strong people, stronger than what they were back in Mewni; and so announced that the people of the Dragonfly kingdom would no longer refer to themselves as Mewmans, but instead will refer to themselves as, Astridlians.
After the funerals, Crescenta was crowned queen of the Butterfly kingdom while Runica was crowned queen of the Dragonfly kingdom.
Queen Runica Dragonfly was ruthless, cold, calculating, her Hilt had transformed into a spiked out Halberd, her cheek marks were the queen chess piece, and she was willling to do anything to honor her oath to her mother, Runica had sent out scout airship to relocate the butterfly kingdom months after Asterid's death.
During their mission, the scout airship made contact with new kingdoms Like Jadedia(oc kingdom) and Valkyrie jarldom(oc kingdom), Bokuden shogunate(oc kingdom), Halatnis, (oc kingdom) Ladurai, (oc kingdom) Osirisia, (oc kingdom) and Kabylon, (oc kingdom) Insectum Theocracy, (oc kingdom) and later on the continent would come to be know as Astridlia. (Named in honor of Asterid)
Then one day, after months of searching, the scout airship finally found the location of the lands of Mewni and their enemies the Butterfly kingdom; and so, plans for a new invasion of the Butterfly kingdom were drawn.
Runica ordered new armies to be raised, and had the numerous lava creatures tamed for war from the smallest to the truly titanic lava beasts, outfitting them with armor along with siege weapons like ballistas, catapults, small cannons, howdahs for the ranged units, even built castles on the backs of the titanic ones, with the vast amount mineral resources at her disposal, she had all of the factories across the Dragonfly kingdom producing vast amounts of weapons to arm her armies for war, along with cannons, giant magical mechs, and newly upgraded and enlarged airships to transport her armies, her tamed lava beasts, and vast amounts of supplies needed to fuel her vast and powerful armies, once her armies were assembled, she made ready for war.
she also send agents to lent out weapons to monster rebels in order to weaken the Butterfly kingdom's defenses for the coming Dragonfly invasion.
Queen Crescenta Butterfly was cheerful, caring and had a strong moral compass, and her wand was transformed into a pink colored heart shaped wand, her wife, Emily Kelpbottom, aided her in ruling the Butterfly kingdom; she would meet a family of monster Kappas called the Avarius family, she helped them form a small Butterfly aligned kingdom within the monster realms and lended them advisors and resources, though few monsters recognized their authority, they were the strongest forces in the monster realms; the territories that were once kingdoms allied to Asterid were suffering strife as the people in the territories demanded self rule, to prevent utter chaos, Crescenta worked with the leaders of the territories in creating a semi autonomous state within the Butterfly kingdom, a representational parliament was established, where the territories would be able to govern themselves while still being under Butterfly rule, the people were satisfied and order returned to the territories.
The 10th Birthday of Rhina, The Dragonfly kingdom launched a surprise invasion of the Butterfly kingdom, taking multiple territories in just one day, starting the Dragonfly war.
Though the Dragonfly kingdom had no Allies in the Dragonfly war and the Chaos Consortium choosing to stay neutral in the conflict, the butterfly kingdom has no allies as well because the other Mewman kingdoms refused to aid the butterfly kingdom either because they were still crippled from the Dragonfly Revolt war or were afraid that the war spill over to their lands, and even MHC and stay out the conflict, choosing instead to oversee humanitarian efforts for the duration of the Dragonfly war, leaving the only the Avarius kingdom to aid the butterfly kingdom in the war.
The Dragonfly war was like the Dragonfly Revolt but limited to the Butterfly kingdom territories and the monster realms, while the Dragonfly kingdom at first had the upper hand thanks to Runica's leadership and the surprise invasion catching the butterfly kingdom completely off guard.
but thanks to Crescenta's leadership, the Butterfly kingdom was able to mobilize its forces quickly enough to the Dragonfly invasion, and she her blacksmiths were able to reverse engineer the airships and cannons from battlefield wreckage of the Dragonfly revolt, she then went to other dimensions and purchased ice beasts to fight against the lava beasts, and by luck she found Psychabolts's machine that created Solarian warriors, though with Solaria's magic, creating Solarian warriors was still impossible, so she instead created the Crescentian warriors, while they were not as powerful as the Solarians they were powerful enough to face the Nargunian warriors on a equal footing in the battlefield, the Dragonfly war quickly became a stalemate.
The Dragonfly war would continue on for three more years, until the second battle of Red pine tree fields, where it saw the Butterfly kingdom victorious, the war quickly turn in favor for the Butterfly kingdom,
the Dragonfly armies were slowly pushed out of the Butterfly kingdom, in the war's fourth and final year, during the third battle of the Hill of Flags, Crescenta personal fought Runica in a duel to the death.
After hours of fighting, Runica had the upper hand and was about to kill Crescenta, but then, Dirhhennia jump in the way taking the death blow for Her sister, Crescenta then used a powerful spell that managed to not just wound but left Runica's legs crippled, Crescenta then rushed over to her sister's body, allowing Runica to escape with the aid a two Dragonfly flyers, the Butterfly kingdom quickly won the battle, forcing the Dragonfly army to retreat back to Magma mountains ending the war, a funeral was held for Dirhhennia while Runica was left bedridden from her wounds and crippled legs, she passed the Hilt over to her 14 year old daughter Axeandra, who swore to one day take vengeance upon the Butterfly family.
And thus began a long and horrific blood feud filled with war, death, destruction; the Dragonfly war would later on be renamed the first Dragonfly war as more wars between the Butterfly and Dragonfly kingdoms broke out.
Each Dragonfly war began with a Dragonfly queen killing a Butterfly queen and ended with a Butterfly queen killing a Dragonfly queen, each Dragonfly war was more devastating then the last, the Butterfly-Dragonfly conflict was eventually named the Dragonfly wars, the Dragonfly wars stretched on for a thousand years, the conflict saw Dragonflies killing Butterflies, Butterflies killing Dragonflies, developing an eye for an eye cycle between the two families.
Entire kingdoms that allied with either Dragonfly or Butterfly kingdoms were dragged into the war, the death toll nearly over a hundred and fifty million on both sides, leaving entire lands scorched and cities in ruins.
At some point in the Dragonfly wars, the cause of the Dragonfly revolt was muddled by reinterpretations and revisions by both Butterfly and Dragonfly families, the Butterfly family claimed that Asterid revolted against Festivia out of jealousy, madness and the lust for power.
While the Dragonfly family claimed that Festivia was a deceitful despotic pawn of the MHC who usurped the throne, forcing Asterid to rebel in order to end Fesitiva's tyranny; both families indoctrinated their interpretations onto their subjects through stories, plays, and simply propaganda, the truth of what really caused the Dragonfly revolt died with Asterid and Festivia.
(14 years before the events of svtfoe) The Dragonfly wars would finally end after queen moon Butterfly the undaunted, she launched a surprise attack on the Dragonfly kingdom during the coronation of Scytheia Dragonfly(oc character), Moon personal lead the assault on Dragonfly castle and successfully defeated Scytheia in single combat and putting her in a coma, the Butterfly forces were able to successfully win the battle the Dragonfly army was forced to surrender. Later All of the adult members of the Dragonfly family were imprisoned after the battle, all except for one. in order to avoid a costly occupation, Moon needed a Dragonfly to install as a puppet who would also look after Scytheia Dragonfly's daughter, Fencina, so she turned her over to Fraila Dragonfly (oc character).
Fraila Dragonfly was the younger sister to Scytheia Dragonfly, she was born blind and was ridiculed by her family for having no stomach for war and being kind and meek, she's married to a women named Faebeth Rosaline (oc character and is leader of touring theater company) and recently had a daughter with her named Shayespear (oc character).
Moon made a deal with Fraila, Fraila would be allowed to rule the Dragonfly kingdom, but as a puppet ruler and the Dragonfly kingdom would become a satellite state of the Butterfly kingdom, and will have to make vast amounts of mineral tributes to the Butterfly kingdom. Scytheia Dragonfly and the Dragonfly Hilt would remain in Butterfly kingdom hands. And in return her wife and Daughter, along with the child members of the Dragonfly family would remain free, Fraila agreed to the deal and few days later a peace treaty was signed, officially ending the Dragonfly wars once and for all.
But unknown to everyone, Moon didn't end the Dragonfly wars to cripple the Dragonfly family or to take its vast resources, she did it so her newborn daughter Star wouldn't have to face the horrors of war when she becomes queen one day.
Especially with Moon being slowly consumed by a sickness caused by a deal she made with Dr. Psychabolts.
