Chapter Text
I
took you as a confidant,
like Merope, the unseen Pleiad,
took Sisyphos as a husband.
Laved
the eternal heavens
my father held up high
to hold your mortal hands.
Felt
your mortal skin
and hoped to free you of it,
believing I'd find
immortal bones beneath it.
But hope
makes us not wise—
so in the end
my eyes saw you die.
As
the mortal man
I had not wanted
to recognize.
Back
I ascended into the heavens,
again a star,
now dim, next to my sisters.
My lost friend,
see me
when you miss a star
in the night sky.
