Chapter 1: The Beginning (Part 1)
Chapter Text
'Ever since I was a child... I've always been interested when people acted differently in each movie as they played their roles. It felt like magic as my world expand itself.'
Kusanagi Mashiro typed on her laptop as she wrote her application for a University of Entertainment Business department.
'Even now, I never stopped my dream until the end. With my friends' encouragement, I feel I can do everything.'
A grin spread out on Mashiro's face at that thought. She stretched her arms out, ignoring the noises behind her doors while the white ferret-like fox creature on her lap twitched its ears.
She hummed out a song called 'Bokura wa mada Underground by EVE on her headphones, a well-known singer who sings catchy songs on YouTube.
Another rising star under Japan.
Someday she wants to become one of them.
"Mashiro. Someone is coming." The ferret-like fox spoke to the human girl. It pulled her shirt to gain her attention. "Mashiro!" It called out her name again and used its weight to nearly push her very close that she almost fell over from her chair.
Mashiro removed her headphones from her ears and placed them on her neck. "What is it, Kudamon?" She questioned her partner from her lap and noticed that Kudamon was on her guard.
Then she finally heard a loud knock on her door.
"Ah." The human girl realized that someone had banged on her door when she interpreted to ignore it and focused on her application instead while she had her headphones on.
"Mashiro! Open your door already!" It was her mother who was behind her door with her high-pitched voice that Mashiro always knew when she was furious. She wanted to sigh. Her relationship with her mother was already on the tip of the iceberg ever since she had made up her mind to follow her dream.
It was annoying how controlled and manipulative her mother was to her. At this first, Mashiro thought it was normal when her mother told her to do what to do and was for her best. And so, Mashiro drowns herself in her studies that she barely interacts with her schoolmates.
Eat, study, sleep, and repeat. It was the only thing Mashiro had to do as she sacrificed everything to herself to become an empty shell for her mother's happiness. Mashiro even neglected her health at this point. Her natural brown turned to a shocking white as a result.
Until that day on her school trip for historical studies extracurricular activities during the spring breaks, Mashiro got herself spirited away with her other classmates to a strange new world filled with only Monsters and dangers that lie ahead. That is also where she met her precious partner, Kudamon.
"Mashiro!" Her mother banged on her door again, which made Mashiro get off her chair as she got fed up with her mother's antics while Kudamon jumped over her desk. The white-haired girl packed her headphone, laptop, and clothes in her backpack as she planned to go to her friend's house and texted her friend that she slept in her place for the time being.
"Let's go, Kudamon. We are going to Aoi's place." Mashiro quietly said over her partner, who jumped on her shoulder as the human girl told Kudamon where they were going.
"Let's hurry then. I don't want to deal with your mother again." Said Kudamon and shook their head from the imagination they had as Kudamon met Mashiro's mother one year ago. It was not very pleasant.
Mashiro took a breath as she had to face the music of what lay ahead for her and turned the lock off on her door, then twisted the door handle. It didn't surprise her at all when her mother stood before her with a fake smile on her face.
"Ah~, Mashiro! I was so worried about you that you didn't respond to me at all." Her mother put her hand on her cheek while the other hugged herself one-handed and eyed Kudamon, who glared her back.
Her mother twitched her eyebrows and smiled tightly. "I thought you get rid of this thing."
"This isn't a 'thing.' Kudamon is my friend." Mashiro talked her back in boldness while hiding her nervosity inside of her, which her mother didn't like, and dropped her facade.
"Don't talk to me with that tone, young lady. I wonder where did you learn to talk back to your mother?" Her mother scolded Mashiro, who was trying to find a way to escape. The only route was blocked by her mother, who stood in her way.
She noticed her daughter's backpack. "And, where are you going without my permission? Huh? Are you neglecting your studies again? Don't tell me that you still chasing your silly dream of yours. Mashiro, you should start thinking realistically when it comes to your future instead of making a business about acting. Are you not satisfied with what I have done for you?"
Again, Mashiro's head started to hurt by her mother's word.
Today was the day that she cut the connection with her mother, once and for all.
However, even now as Mashiro was right now, she was still weak under these words as she closed her eyes in fear.
'Is it really okay? Is it really okay to run away?'
"Mashiro!" A familiar voice snapped her out of her negative thoughts that slowly killed her feelings again. "You made it this far! Are you sure of yourself to stop your potential by this woman?"
"Be quiet, you little thing!" Mashiro's mother snapped at Kudamon. She switched back to her calm self when she talk to her daughter, "I apologize that I shouted at you. Did I scare you? You know that Mother did this for your sake."
"No. I'm tired of your spiel, Mother."
Mashiro glared at her mother and pushed her to the wall so that she had more room to run away to the entrance.
"Mashiro!"
She heard her mother shouting at her, but she didn't care to come back. Right now, it was the first time Mashiro felt to be so free.
Unaware of herself, a powerful being from another universe watched the human girl of the moment when she kicked herself out of the house as she stayed with her friend.
Is she the one who will save my world from the chaos?
With that questionable thought, he observed that human girl more thoroughly.

Chapter 2: The Beginning (Part 2)
Chapter Text
A/N side note:
Digimon/Kemonogami don't have a sex like humans and animals do but they choose what they prefer themselves. Be it male, female or genderless
Kudamon is a digimon without a gender like Renamon in digimon Tamers (Until a certain episode that they change their gender to a female) and referred to as They or She sometimes.
Digimon are really interesting creatures such as Pokemon.
Well enough of it and let's do some actual work.
-
Mashiro panted and caught a breath when she finally reached the train station. She looked around, and in relief, she sighed.
"Thank goodness, no one is there."
She pulled her smartphone from her hoodie pocket and looked at the time.
9:07 p.m.
"Just eighteen minutes now, huh..." Mashiro murmured. She quietly looked up her notifications and saw that her mother called her numerous times.
"That woman...!" When Kudamon saw the notification from her partner's mother over her shoulder, she couldn't help but click her tongue in annoyance. "She cannot catch a break, can't she? All that this woman will do to you is only your obedience to her that you fulfill her wishes instead of yours and break your spirit if you come back to her!"
"Now, now, Kudamon," Mashiro reassured her. "Let's save this for now. It will not be good for us if we keep talking like this. For now, let us move forward and see what kind of future we are making together."
"You're right," Her other half looked at her with a bit of embarrassment from her outburst and nodded sheepishly in agreement. "Say, did Aoi reply to your message yet?" Kudamon asked.
"I'm about to check on it," Mashiro replied while she blocked her mother's number on her phone and tapped in her other chat room to check that her friend Aoi texted her back.
8:37 p.m.
Can I come over to your place for a while? : Me-
I don't have the patience for my mother anymore. : Me
8:54 p.m.
- Aoi: I told my father that you would come to us for a sleepover and said that is okay since it's the golden week.
Aoi: Let me know what you need if you forget something in that house. I'm very glad that I will help you with your situation.
Mashiro smiled over the messages and began to type a quick message to Aoi.
9:15 p.m.
Thank you. : Me-
Suddenly, Kudamon twitched one of her ears as she heard someone coming in their direction. Mashiro who was alarmed, quickly got away from the dim light sources and pulled her hood over her head which Kudamon hid behind her neck. "Someone is coming in this way!" Quickly, Mashiro concealed herself in the darkest corner and waited quietly until that person was gone. Mashiro was glad that she only wore dark clothes today, it was easy to blend in the corner.
She heard footsteps behind her. Mashiro didn't dare to look who was coming as she only focused on not being caught.
The unknown person stopped his footwork and stood still like a silent ghost as they also waited for the train to come by, like her.
At that moment the white-haired girl got curious.
Mashiro quickly took a peek at who the person might be and wondered. The rural village she was living in with her mother was quite small in comparison to the bigger city. There was only a living handful of old people and a few children. Her mother was out of the question as she didn't dare to come out since it was very dark outside.
Just as she caught a glimpse of that person, she immediately knew who it was.
An elderly man who was older than Minase Akiharu but still kept this youthful glamour in him.
It's her former instructor, Miyamoto Iori.
Being here was a surprise for Mashiro. When she was little, her late father brought her to Miyamoto's dojo once and met this particular man. It was overwhelming and fascinating for her when her father sparred against that old man. She joined that dojo with sheer joy that specialized in the original art of Niten Ichi-ryū at the age of ten. It was more or less her second dream to learn more about that warrior's path who created the infamous sword art.
However, she stopped going when her mother took her away from her father and was lectured that it wasn't something Mashiro should learn as a woman as she should only pick feminine hobbies, like tea ceremonies and flower arrangements.
But the most important question was, why is he here?
The old man took a breath. "You should come out of your hiding spot, kid. I'm not here to harm." His black eyes trailed to the hiding spot that Mashiro used.
She nearly flinched and slowly came out of the dark but still hid her hair in her hood just in case.
"Good evening," Mashiro greeted her former instructor politely and bowed her head. "I apologize for the inconvenience, it was all for my protection." She doesn't want to recall for him that she was his former student as it was so long to remember and hoped it stayed this way as she hoped but...
"Wait a minute..." While Miyamoto Iori still was an old man, his eyes were still sharp enough to decipher the shape of her face and her eyes, something clicked in his mind. "Is that you Mashiro?"
Her eyes widened, he still remembered her even if it was a long time since she last saw him.
Mashiro stayed quiet and started to think about what she should do.
She still had little time as the train would come in any minute. A little chat with her old mentor was not going to hurt her, right?
"To think you remember me even at your age, Shishou (Master). What brings you here to this village?" Mashiro asked. She tried not to giggle when Iori slightly groaned when she mentioned his age.
"Hah... don't mention that! I'm very aware of my age and actually... Shouldn't you respect me because I am an Elder?" Iori snarked at the youthful girl who just smiled thinly.
"Well, you don't strike to be a stern Elder to me. You are that kind of a grandpa who enjoys his life and still acts as if he is still in his youthful day... Or were my predictions wrong, I wonder?" Mashiro analyzed him with her keen eye, and Iori twitched his shoulders in surprise.
"I'm impressed," Said Iori. "With your analysis, it should be no problem for you to distinguish what kind of person they are. Are you planning to become a detective in the future?" He asked with pure curiosity.
Mashiro shook her head as she denied his question and smiled benignly at her former instructor. "Even though a friend told me that I act like one, I don't qualify to become a detective. " She answered him, "I want to become a manager of a Talent Agency. My dream is to support everyone's dreams who strive to become a star." She told Iori her dream with a fiery blaze in her eyes, Iori smiled.
The old man was glad that this young girl was chasing her hopes and dreams instead of becoming an empty shell which he once feared as her mother took her with.
"Well, What a nice dream!" Iori praised her. Then he remembered Mashiro's question of why he was here, "And also, from your question of why I am here. I'm enjoying my retirement and traveling every corner that Japan has to offer even in a rural village like this one."
"Heh, Is that so..." This is all that Mashiro said. She was never the type who held the conservation for the longest period unless there was a subject she was familiar with.
She moved to Iori's side and eyed the tracks in the distance. Mashiro checked the time on her phone. It was 9:20 p.m. In just five minutes the train will come in any minute.
"There's something I am curious about," Iori said. Mashiro glanced at him with a questionable look. "Why are you here so late?" He asked with an open-minded tone.
She stiffed her shoulder when he asked her. 'Should I tell him the truth that I decided to run away from my mother?' Mashiro closed her eyes for a moment, to choose her decision wisely.
'I think I should refrain from it. It would be better to tell him that I stay over a friend of mine for the whole week. Considered, that the day marked as the beginning of the Golden Week.' Mashiro nodded herself.
"I am staying with my friend for the whole week. We decided to make the Golden Week something worthwhile which we either study together or hang out in a mall in the city." Her words are smooth without a sonority of her nervousness that she kept inside her.
Iori hummed. "That really sounds like a good plan. It's better to enjoy these days while you still can. It will polish your mind, heart and Spirit in better quality."
Mashiro looked up to him and smiled.
"But even if it's the case you are planning to run away, aren't you?"
Mashiro's eyes slightly, like a deer in the highlights that she got caught despite being careful around her mentor. Kudamon who had listened since the beginning, decided to reveal themselves from their hideout.
Kudamon's presence didn't terrified the older man, rather he took an interest in that small monster. Which was rather strange.
Kemonogamis, or Digimon as humans referred to the creatures as they are living in the network now and coming out to the real world since the two worlds had been melted together into one.
Even if it's a year ago, some people are terrified of the sudden change. It is still concerning today that it would play to the political party as there are still conflicts in this world.
Which is why, the ministry of Japan made laws to the people who partnered the new creatures and are protected from any misuse by other governments.
One of the laws is to minimize the information as possible to the citizens who never saw these creatures, parents or guardians to the children should be the only them to know.
"Kudamon!? You shouldn't-"
"I'm aware of the consequences, Mashiro. However, I want to make things clear with your old mentor." Kudamon cut her other-half out as she tried to stop her from doing something reckless.
"Hoo? What do you want to tell me about the little fox?" Iori crossed his arms and waited for the little fox to speak..
"So what if we run away? This place isn't our home that should be saved from harm. But what do I see, when my friend suffered by the hand of her so-called mother with pressures which she couldn't handle, so that she decided to kill her emotion as a result. If you turn on us to the police, then I make you suffer from what you are doing."
Kudamon intensely stared at the man as if she made a judgement while the human was silent like a shrouded mist. The trees rustled their leaves when the strong wind came, one leaf slowly wavered into the ground between Iori and Mashiro.
Iori opened his mouth to speak up which Kudamon prepared themselves to give a signal to Mashiro to get ready to flee together as the bullet train was on sight.
"To be honest, I don't actually care about handing you over and... sheesh, I don't want to become an enemy to my former student." Iori scratched his head slightly with a disturbing face when he thought about it. "Say, what about you and the kid should get into the express while I pretend I never saw you today. It's getting pretty late, so you better hurry."
Mashiro didn't look back when he told her and hopped on the train when the door automatically opened itself. She didn't need it, as she felt he kinda supported her for what she was doing.
"Ah. Before I forget, catch."
Iori throws something at her which Mashiro caught it with her hand. "A Vital Armband?" She inspected the pink device and noticed that it's quite different from the other brands she had seen on commercial.
"This thing here belong to you, Mashiro. This was a gift from your father, who entrusted to me that I bring it you."
"From my dad..." Mashiro's hand clenched softly the device as she didn't want to let it go from her grasp.
"You should take good care of it and treat it like a sibling... or so he said."
Mashiro looked at him in confusion, she wanted to ask what he meant but the doors suddenly closed as the train got ready for the next destination. Her former mentor waved at her lazily with an crooked smile as the vehicle began to move.
'Have a safe trip.' He mouthed these words to her.
Goodbyes aren't that easy to say as it was the last time they were seeing each other. Perhaps, fate would intertwine them to meet each other again in another time. But it's time for Mashiro's turn to make a path for herself.
"Mmm? I sense a Kemonogami inside the device." Said Kudamon with a slight curiosity in her eyes.
"Really?" Mashiro inspected the Vital Bracelet once more with the details and clicked a button on the side. There was suddenly a bright light which died down quickly. Before her eyes was a young, white Ceratopsian creature with blue scarf on his neck. His yellow eyes opened, it reminded her when babies opened their eyes for the first time.
It raised it's arms as he greeted them with a child-like innocent. "Hello! My name is Gammamon. It's very nice to meet you and take care of me, big sis!"
Mashiro and Kudamon looked at each other for a moment then to Gammamon, who smiled brightly like a star. The white-haired girl nodded her chin slightly to accept the odds on how her dad literally gave his digimon to her.
"It's very nice to meet you as well, Gammamon." Mashiro gave Gammamon an handshake, "Did you come to me because my dad couldn't-"
Gammamon raised its hand to silent her and gave a big smile that could tell over thousand words of what he felt at the moment. Originally speaking, when the human half was gone, so was the other half as well. But since Gammamon was with her that means there was an answer of why and how.
"Subaru told me something important before he's gone, 'If I don't make this... will you please look after my daughter? This is my last will and wish of what I want to fulfill when I'm gone.' And so, Iori took care of me while he kept searching for you." The white Ceratopsian told them.
Mashiro sank herself on the empty seat as she processed what happened so far and there was a single word that came out from her mouth.
"I'm sorry."
"Why are you saying sorry?" Gammamon asked her.
"I... I wasn't there before he was gone. I wish I was stronger back then, against my mother's words... I'm so sorry!" Mashiro avoided the eye contact from Gammamon who mused at her.
The white Ceratopsian light shook his head and placed his hands on her's.
"You don't have to apologize for this, Mashiro. This wasn't your fault at all." The girl looked at Gammamon who ensured her that everything was fine. "You work so hard, I'm very sure that Subaru is very proud on you. Let us now start a new beginning together, shall we?"
Teardrops fell on her skirt, Mashiro tried to hold back her tears as she said, "I'm sorry... Thank you..."
Gammamon sat on her lap and hugged her with a big smile on her face that was filled with sorrow.
"Everything will be fine... after all."
[He will watch over us.]
-
Everything was quiet, the girl and her two partners decided to sleep after such a hectic day. Their dreams drifting away as an golden light appeared from the darkness.
[Welcome Human child and its companions.]
A voice greeted them from their minds, it should terrified them as the unknown spoke to them. Oddly enough, all they felt was calmed and warmth like a comfy blanket in the winter.
'What does this mysterious voice want from us?' The three minds became one as they all thought the same. If they dream all together, then surely this wasn't a dream. This was reality.
[My name is Arceus. I came from another realm where humans and creatures called Pokemon working alongside in harmony... However, I foresaw in a distant future, that the bond will vanish one day. No matter how I tried to stop that anomalistic, that future remain the same.]
'That is really unfortunate.'
[Giving up wasn't my intention for the beloved world that I created. And so, I came to a conclusion that I never did before. Will you Child of this world to help my world?]
'I don't know,' Mashiro shook her head as she thought about it, 'I saved my world with my friends one year ago and had to face the consequences in the society to where I live. I really want to help but I already have enough on my plate and I don't want to leave my friends.]
[Mmm... This is unfortunate. I found you as a good candidate for this role. But alas, I respect your way. Well then I have to search for another human who is up to its task.]
'Wait, why do you need a human from this world? Don't you have humans in yours?' Mashiro questioned Arceus who was supposed to go.
[I will answer this question. Because humans in this world evolve and civilize are slower but efficiently to the goals they make. They advanced alone to the moon and to the red planet for their dream to be fulfilled without a Pokemon. The knowledge and common sense they are also to admire.]
The praise from Arceus really hits the human child to its very core for mankind she was born within. Really made her ego raised up a little.
'Then I change my mind. Instead of an inexperienced person who had no knowledge to survive a world with full of mysterium then I will do it with everybody's stead.' Mashiro declared, her partners Kudamon and Gammamon agreed alongside her.
[... Very well. I'm very pleased with your decision, Human Child. Let's collaborate on a few things before I let you depart into my world. First of all, your age will be reverted to a toddler age of five, the time and space between your world and mine are in a different universe. Second, your partners will come with you without any restrictions of their nature. Third, you will live in a mansion in a small town called Floccesy town, in Unova Region, this is where your journey beginn at age of 14 where the events will happen. And Fourth... what do you want to take from your world?]
What does Mashiro wanted to take from her world? There was only thing on here mind.
'I want to stay in touch with my friends!'
[... Considered done. Here take this Arc-phone, it will communicate with your friends while you're in my world, the Pokemon world.]
Mashiro was given an Arc-phone, it's a lot similar to a smartphone but nonetheless, she was glad that she won't lose touch with her friends.
[Now!
It is time to step forward to the world of Pokemon.
The creatures called Pokemon can be found in every Corner of our World.
Some run across the Plains,
Others fly through the skies,
And others swim in deep oceans.
Pokemon live together with Humans,
Lending strength to another to live and prosper.
This Cycle of Life will NOT be destroyed by some greater evil.
Make sure to learn more about Pokemon on your own, forge bonds with them like you did with your Kemonogamis you have and met.]
A road of light appeared as Arceus created for them. With one step, Mashiro didn't hesitate to push herself forward to a New World unseen by here and her partners.

Chapter Text
Being five years old again had some upside and downside in Mashiro's bizarre life.
Imagine, reverted back to a near toddler's age only exists in a light novel she read once out of curiosity.
It started once upon a time, a man from a different earth. He died due to overworking in a black company he worked there and gets reincarnated in a fantasy world with the help of a klutzy god/goddess who actually accidentally killed him, as they want to learn how to truck. The man, how overjoyed he was with such a sudden turn in his life, planned to live carefree and wandered to see more of this new World.
Her circumstances however, weren't anything in that novel. The light novel was unrealistic to navigate her, as this world was the same like hers, albeit different as it had a system that had to do with the Pokemons.
There are many things that she has to do when it comes to settling down properly.
First, she didn't have an identity certificate that she existed.
Second, she needs someone to be her guardian as she's still stuck in that age where she couldn't do the house work in this small mansion with her small height.
The mansion itself was in medieval European style and well hidden by the humans as it blended well with the forest. The building was old, but Mashiro noticed that the mansion was in a good condition as if someone lived here for a long time before her.
The most challenging was, it didn't have a heater and electricity, keeping the house warm is far more important than electricity for the upcoming winter.
Mashiro didn't know if the cold was like her home, however it's better to be prepared beforehand and collect fallen twigs in this summer season.
'The next problem is food resources...'
"Mashiro, I returned."
She snapped out of her inner monologue and turned her head towards the open window where Kudamon sat, who sprang on the human girl's shoulder.
"Welcome back, Kudamon. Did you gather more information from the town?" Mashiro asked.
Kudamon sighed and shook her head. "I only gained some, more or less... The Floccesy town is not a good place to gain more like I wanted as the population is less than 2.521 as expected for a rural area. There's always a farmer's market once a week which we can stop by when we have the money to buy it and there's always only two cities we can stop by," She said.
Well, as Mashiro expected. The Floccesy town was only known for its famous clock tower that tells of the town's beginnings. It all began when the people were searching for Pokemon, they eventually made homes in this once meadow landscape. And little by little, the people and the Pokemon are spreading out the whole Unova Region as it is today.
As the geographic book in her hand, gave her some insight where she currently lives and what kind of benefits it had at the moment.
"This is more than enough for today Kudamon. You did it well." Mashiro said to Kudamon as she pet her partner's head, who blissfully enjoyed the warm hand of Mashiro.
Kudamon perked her ears as she forgot to tell Mashiro that would interest her.
"Ah. I forgot to tell you that the humans are preparing a small musical in Virbank City for this late evening and add to the bonus, it's free to watch. I was wondering if we could go there."
"Of course we are going!" Mashiro boasted loudly that made the small fox digimon smile as she hit a jackpot to raise her other half's mood.
Cooping only in the house and just reading dusty books was not good for the mind, especially for Mashiro.
It was good that something sparked, to enjoy her life without restrictions. Entertainment is her one-word love language to all criteria that had anything to do with it.
Be it theatres, musicals, movies, music, ect.
"I'm glad that you want to go. How about, the three of us should go now that we can explore the Virbank City a little before the show?"
"That's a good idea." The human girl gave Kudamon a thumbs up.
Then Mashiro stroked her chin as she was thinking where Gammamon wandered off and immediately left the library.
"Gammamon, where are you?" Mashiro called him in the hallway. Nothing came from him and it was quiet.
To quiet.
She started to worry when she thought that Gammamon had wandered too far, and went out to search the whole house to find him.
"Well come to think of it... My father had an adventurous type and loved to travel to different places before." Mashiro spoke her thoughts out loud.
"...Then it implies that Gammamon as well." Said Kudamon who jumped out as she chose to walk to help with the search, "I did not sense that this guy went outside when I came here. He must be in this mansion still."
They suddenly heard a commotion under the floor, they both nodded at each as they headed towards downstairs.
"Ahhh! You give bad vibes!"
Gammamon's voice echoed through the first floor.
Something or someone's with Gammamon that made him eerie, which Mashiro and Kudamon were cautious as an intruder broke into their home.
"...This is coming to the storage room! We have to hurry!" Mashiro shouted. That leads Kudamon forward, who dashes in high speed towards the storage room.
As they entered the room, they both couldn't believe what they were seeing.
There's only one word they can describe it.
It was Chaos.
The foods they collected from the forest were scattered in the ground, some were squashed and some were still eaten, one of the fermentation pots was destroyed, the shelves were broken in half and the window was wide open.
Most importantly, Gammamon growled and showed off his sharp teeth how truly angry he was towards the intruders they saw.
The two intruders weren't thankfully humans which Mashiro was in relief of, these are just small creatures called Pokemon that Arceus spoke about.
Gammamon then noticed Mashiro with Kudamon on her side who looked aghast at how the state of the room was.
"Mashiro, Kudamon. Those two were trying to steal our food!" Gammamon pointed at these two without looking at the human girl and the fox-like ferret digimon. The small two Pokemon, who were shivering in fear because of how the small Ceratopsian digimon's eyes, turned into frightened black as if it sucked them into the abyss that they will never escape.
They never felt this afraid before.
Mashiro knew what she should do and slowly went towards Gammamon, she kneeled down and touched his shoulder with a blank expression.
"This is far enough, Gammamon. There's no need to be this angry."
The eyes of the Ceratopsian digimon turned back to its normal state, as if nothing had happened.
"But why? Shouldn't we punish them for trespassing our home and stealing our food?" Gammamon questioned, while he knitted his eyebrows as he also questioned himself over his own action.
The human girl shook her head, "No. I don't like this method to treat someone who is weak and injured. Maybe these two Pokemon just stumbled upon our house by chance and thought it must be abandoned, since this mansion is cut off to human civilization as it is surrounded by the forest." Said Mashiro to Gammamon who understood now her mindset as it clearly shows.
Then Mashiro turned towards the two pokemon who were in the corner, afraid and stressed as she saw in them. This reminded her from back then in that particular world.
It was when Takuma Momozuka took care of Tentomon, Palmon and Gomamon near the School Area he found them. The trio were scared towards him as if Takuma wanted to hurt them, however they were wrong about it as he showed kindness to them which they moved and followed him as if he was their leader.
A trustworthy leader they all relied him that all of them made it back home.
Mashiro smiled a little over the fond memory while remembering that she was still in the present.
She took an apple from the ground, noticed that it is still in good condition and faced the fruit toward the otter looking pokemon and the sparkling fox pokemon that came straight out from a Japanese folklore with its ghostly appearance. They both looked astounded at her as Mashiro apologized to them over Gammamon's action, which the said digimon did the same with a face of shame he hung.
The Pokemon also apologized slowly in their own way and together they cleaned this mess up.
While Kudamon who was very quiet over, smiled over the fact that Mashiro looked more peacefully than ever before and quickly bonded with the two troublemakers who will later become on her starters for her pokemon trainer adventure.
'It wasn't a bad choice coming into this world despite leaving our group behind... No... Every choice we make, there will always be consequences for sure as Karma follows us anywhere we are going. But for now let us enjoy this tranquility as much as we can.'
Later in the evening, they all went to Virbank City to witness the musical. Both Pokemon were sceptical about coming along, however they are curious what this hype to Mashiro was. It was an unforgettable occasion to those who never seen a musical before as they saw performers acting their roles with singing and dancing.
Showing expressing was the joy to all those who desire something they all wanted. Especially, when a baby ice bear pokemon climbed on the Stage and joined the performers with happiness. The audience was excited about how cute and eager that pokemon danced, that even the staff and cast didn't stop the show.
Mashiro hummed happily with her eyes closed as the performers bowed to the audience while holding the baby ice bear pokemon who still gleamed in joy.
'I still have time before I make my own agency. Heck, I even heard you can do it if you're eleven in this oblique world. It's better to enjoy my second childhood while I still can.'
She then eyed the wild two Pokemon she brought along with it and seeing their sparkle of joy, Mashiro couldn't help but ask them.
"If you're both interested, do you guys want to give it a try with me?" Mashiro asked them.
The otter Pokemon and the fox pokemon were looking at each other, unsure to give it a try. But that baby ice bear pokemon had so much fun on the Stage as they gave a nod towards the human girl.
"Really?! Then since we are in the middle the beginning let's just do our best and fun! Having fun is the key to the desire to do something they really really like it!" Mashiro said to them in excitement and clapped her hand together.
"Before we start, it is the best to gather experience and we don't have much opportunity here in our home. I would say I prefer to travel around the world and see what it has to offer wouldn't be so bad, don't you think?" She offered her opinion and didn't oppress them when Mashiro told them they also have their own mind to think as it was important to the group that they agree or disagree as no one's the same.
They both chose Mashiro's opinion as they saw her as a good human to follow.
"Great. Then how about we all going to a bit more humid and warm place first?"

Chapter 4: A Summertime Odyssey
Chapter Text
"Time is really a fickle thing..." Said Mashiro out of nowhere, while staring the deep blue sky above her head.
Watching the clouds as she laid lazily on the grass when she thought of what had happened in one year ago.
Today's date is July the first. The weather was expectant sunny and breezy for the hot summer month.
After the day of the musical she and the others had watched, her friends from her original world sent several messages on the Arc-phone that she couldn't keep up with, but understood nonetheless they have been worried over her wellbeing when she made the decision to stay here because of a god's whim. But most of the messages came from Aoi, the girl had been worried the most since Mashiro HAD planned to stay over her place for the time being, which the white-haired girl apologized to her.
Honestly, the youth in her knew that her friends kept asking her, if she had the phone number of that 'Arceus' god. Of course, it's stored on her contact file, but Mashiro will not tell them as she knew particular people would spam Arceus like there's no tomorrow.
"Like Shinonome Miu for example. She would spam Arceus with 'I, the queen, did not agree to use my subject to clean up your creation's mistakes. As a god like you, isn't it quite shameful to use such a method or is your ethic different from ours to answer our demands?' or something she would do." Mashiro giggled when she imagined that Miu had the beef against Arceus and would openly fight him alongside with Syakomon who straight shot them in their face with ink.
Despite spending one year here, she recently discovered that the time in this world is different from her own. As one year here equals 28 days there on Earth.
She missed them, honestly. They are the only ones she could interact openly with while she's still in this world.
It felt like she didn't belong here.
Well yes, the people are polite and friendly here though, but it was only a facade she could tell.
There's only pity in their eyes, as the folks here thought she doesn't have a family and let her help them with their agriculture and taking care of the Mareeps. Mashiro managed to get some money from the work for the time being since a child working on an adult's work it's highly illegal.
It would matter of time when someone dialled the child protective services out of nowhere and dragged her in some foster care system.
'By this world law it stands, 'a child of any age can be a trainer and start a journey with their pokemon.' and in other pages you must not allow a child to work... What a bunch of hypocrites. Wild life is more dangerous than you think and letting a child with no idea how to survive. The same applies to the cities as well, we know what it lurks in the darkest corners.' Mashiro sighed with a sudden headache.
Suddenly, something soft plopped down on her face. The texture of the fur was soft like a cat's belly.
For cat persons, it would be heaven for them.
Although in Mashiro's case it did not. The heat on her face was so unbearable that she grabbed the droppy eyed fox with her hand to get off from her face.
"Inari... Did Kudamon send you?" She asked the spiteful fox Pokemon cheekily.
Inari only licked Mashiro's cheek as respond.
"Hey! That tickles!" The girl laughed and immediately got off of the grass.
Inari the Zorua and Sui the Oshawott were the first introduction of the Pokemon that Mashiro, Kudamon and Gammamon had encountered, ever since they arrived.
They never knew about their individual species, until they found an old notebook as the human decided to explore the whole house from nook and cranny. The notebook was found in a hidden room that they recently discovered.
Mashiro didn't have any idea who it belonged once with the small mansion they lived in.
A collector, perhaps? Well, they surely had no clue, but are thankful to put this knowledge for use.
By Inari, she should be more careful than Sui. Compared to the Oshawott who was in his home region, that variant of Zorua species originated from the ancient Sinnoh region as they immigrated there and in these time of days, they become non-existent.
Now only the dark type Zoruas are in a few and Mashiro wasn't keen to be hunted down because Inari was supposed to be extinct a long time ago. Although, it would be the same with Kudamon and Gammamon as they're the only kind in existence.
'This will be a lot of work in the future.' Mashiro thought and entered the entrance hall of her house.
She was greeted by a small white Ceratopsian who looked up to her with a big grin.
"You're finally here!" Gammamon exclaimed in joy and jumped right in her arms. Mashiro caught him stumbling as her legs swayed back and forth from the sudden height while Inari, who quickly rested on the child's head and snickered quietly of the scene. "We all had waited for you, since you know that today's the day."
Mashiro only chuckled,"I know, I know. Today's the day, we are all going to Hoenn. Because we're going to observe what it's to offer there and do some brainstorming for our very first showtime!" She said determined. Mashiro had planned it for last year as she wanted, but there was a lot of things she had to do before leaving the big house. Such as earning some money and resources.
"Hmph, that's nice coming from you." Said Kudamon who came out from the shadows from the house with Sui on her side. Normal people would be frightened when someone came out from nowhere but to Kudamon, they are used to it as the time went by. "Heh, I was just messing with you... I'm going wherever you want to go to Mashiro. Whatever lies ahead on your path, I will always be on your side. Forever." Kudamon said suddenly and went outside, leaving a stunned human and two pokemon behind.
"What was it for?" Mashiro ruffled her hair with a complex face of what Kudamon meant. "Oh well, let's not deep it further and let's just grab our stuff before we are going to leave."
Sui nodded and quickly went to get his stones for his clam, while Inari was too lazy to get off from Mashiro's head. The human child didn't mind the extra weight on her head and on her back where Gammamon was as she headed to her room and grabbed her backpack.
It was weird that only her clothes had shrunk in a passable size and still wear it except for her bag.
Mashiro didn't want to think about this questionable logic that she discovered before, she found out that her bag can store the infinite amount of items and it doesn't have any weight, also food that is supposed to be expired soon will still be good for a good month that Mashiro couldn't complain about it.
"This isn't an RPG, this isn't an RPG... This is reality... I'm not some sort of hero-type character even if I saved my world once!" Mashiro muttered under her breath while packing more dried foods and water with her swirled eyes that's about to lose the logic that had been taught her.
Well, as long as she doesn't lose her morals it shouldn't be a problem here, right?
-
"Why did you took so long?" Asked Kudamon concerned towards her other half.
"It's nothing," reassured Mashiro who got out from her own episode and pretended it didn't happen today. She didn't want to ruin herself any further.
"Let's just go now, shall we?"
Mashiro dramatically offered her hand towards the small audience as she wanted to take them to a place they had never been before.
Like a show director made to be.
To make the audience more in awe, Kudamon knew their cue when a blue sphere trapped them as the small fox digimon evolved to a perfect level.
There now, stood an unknown beast in front of them. Inari and Sui couldn't help but to shiver off its immense power that radiated as if it stood by the side of their Creator with a pride on its own.
The human child only showed their two readymade pokeballs in another hand.
"We will fly over the clouds to reach the region. I don't want you guys to catch a cold as it's basically near the troposphere." She weakly throw them to their respective pokeballs and putted on her belt. Then Mashiro climbed on Tyilinmon's back.
"Are you prepared well?" Said the holy beast Digimon with a calm voice.
Mashiro only nodded her head.
"Let's fly off! To the Sapphire Sky that transcends to the Emerald of the Sea and chase the Ruby spot on its end!"
-
Meanwhile, from a far region.
A boy with red eyes and a white hat that's mistaken to be his hair color from the people's perspective. He sat on the floor inside the truck, he wore a pair of glasses as the soon to be eleven years old boy furiously sewed small hats that pairs well for his Pokemon, while ignoring his mother's shout as his father's on the TV channel.
"Hmm... I'm busy now," He muttered and snapped off the thread as he finished the third hat, "Alright! I've finally finished it! Hats for all of you! Try'em on!"
The boy gave them the hat which they wore; one looked bashful and the other two wearing theirs in confidence as he praised them how cool they looked.
"Hm? The fur on the left is a bit long." The boy noticed the hyena pup Pokemon who constantly looked both of its side. The boy with red eyes pulled out a comb out of his bag and twirled the scissor with his index finger around, to do his masterpiece as he cut the long fur as if he's a barber.
"There... Perfect! You look more beautiful than before!" The boy finished with high speed and the Pokemon looked more confident than ever before.
Then suddenly, the truck halted of all sudden that send them to the wall.
Ruby's mother got off from the driver's seat and went to her son. "Hey, Ruby! The truck got stuck on the mud! Come out and help us!" She banged on the door with muscular humanoid Pokemon on her side.
"I don't want to!" The boy who was called Ruby denied the plea of his mother and focused on how to make his pokemon more beautiful.
The mother wasn't so pleased with his refusal, "Why not?!" She asked on the other side, already having gained a headache towards her son's attitude.
"You said we're stuck in the mud, right? I don't wanna get my Pokemon muddy." Ruby said and glanced at the door. "Anyways... The truck will be out of the mud now. With Ruru's confusion!!"
Just with that, the truck floated out from the mud and moved to the other side of the street.
Ruby opened the door and sat above the truck with the help of Ruru as he watched the landscape. "Heh. So this is Hoenn. It looks very beautiful from here... Just the place for my Pokemon!" He said while his mother chased after the truck.
"And for my team is always... Intelligent... Stro
ng... Adorable... Cool. And of course... Beautiful!" Ruby removed his glasses and winked while his pokemon nestled on his leg.

So, anyways have a good day.
-
As Mashiro and Co. had left the Unova Region, Tyilinmon decided to fly lower to be near the sea because the sky above was way too cold for a child's body to handle and there weren't any humans on sight that gave attention to the group.
Their flight was slow and steady, Mashiro held the world map in her hands as she deciphered which way to take for reaching their destination.
This planet was apparently 2 times bigger than the earth, despite the mass, there wasn't any density around. She kinda understood the point, evolution makes the animals to become stronger over the time here 'descent with modifications' as Charles Darwin quote for his Theory of Evolution.
With a more simplified sentence, it means, it takes more than a day to reach it.
Heck, today's date was the twelve of July!
That means they drifting away without a clue where the Hoenn region lies. Although Mashiro possessed a compass, she has the trouble with the directions.
Even her friends wondered how it was possible to mistake their school from the famous Phoenix Wonderland one time and wasn't getting any trouble thanks to a pink-haired staff member, who told Mashiro to come back in any time with a contagious smile on her face.
"Woah! So much water everywhere!" Gammamon exclaimed in excitement as he watched the sun sparkles in the ocean.
"This is the ocean." Said Mashiro, It's still fun for seeing Gammamon discovering something new that he's very excited to learn more as she teaches him. "It covers most of the planet's surface for about more than 97 percent of water, the ocean contains pure salt water and hence it's not drinkable." She explained to him.
"I know! Subaru taught me all about what a planet needs to sustain life. Liquid water is a must! It should be in the right distance of their star, the habitable planet has to have a magnetic field for protecting against the solar wind and there's so much more to make it habitable!" Gammamon turned on Mashiro with a bright smile when he told her.
She was dumbfounded that Gammamon knew this, but it's apparently understandable between them as they had been taught by the same person when it comes to the knowledge about the universe.
"Say Gammamon, can you tell me, where did you and my father have met before?" Mashiro asked with curiosity. That question had always occurred in her mind since that day they met. She never had the opportunity to ask since there were so many things left to do.
It was strange to think that her father met his Kemonogami before the two worlds had been merged once again.
Gammamon raised one of his claws up to the sky and he said, "I've met your father in space."
'In Space!?' Mashiro thought in disbelief, but it kind of makes sense to her.
Wada Subaru, her father who once worked for NASA and managed to achieve his life dream to go to space. To think he met a living being that Mashiro assumed Gammamon came from extragalactic space while working in the ISS.
Mashiro always looked up to him as a father who wanted to accomplish his dream, it inspired her to do the same.
The entertainment world are cruel from her own words. Despite how fun it would be to entertain people, it has some drawbacks.
'The people in the real and digital world will go so far to drive someone in living hell for their own pleasure. They felt no remorse for the person's wellbeing as they were following their own impulse.'
Mashiro gazed upon the blue sky, her eyes trailed the clouds as she let herself became feel blue. 'I will follow my own conviction despite the odds in the far future. I will do it on my way and don't care what people say, when I open my OWN agency. I will live my life to its fullest and fulfill my biggest dream.'
Her mind was already set since the end of the last adventure. Life is short and everything isn't so black and white nor grey.
There's always be someone there for you make you smile and colorful.
'Let's not dive too much about the past and the future, the enjoyments are the present we savour... be it in good or in bad times. And what this newfound journey has answer to me...' Mashiro looked forward to what lies ahead for her and glanced at Gammamon to her side as she was done with her monologue.
He looked up to the sky as well, his face became mellow when he thought about his time together with Mashiro's father in space. Both of them were understood without a word, their bond strengthened as they could each other's pain. Then Gammamon decided to nap.
"Mashiro. Gammamon." Tyilinmon suddenly joined to their conversation, Mashiro blinked as turned her attention from a white mist in front of their destination.
"What in the-"
It was all so sudden. Why's mist appearing out of nowhere?
"Something is approaching us from that mist. Should we turn back?" Asked Tyilinmon with its guard on.
The human girl looked unsure what to do next, if this way leads to Hoenn then they must overcome the obstacle.
"Tyilinmon, fly a little higher. What ever it is, I'm sure it wants not to see us." She told her partner who nodded at the command.
"Roger."
The holy beast flew a bit higher as they entered the mist with a good distance of the ocean.
Nothing happened in the next few hours and they are still trapped in the mist.
The mist thickens, this phenomenon reminded Mashiro of that forest with full of red spiders Lily's that aren't in the season.
The ominous silence shivers her skin. She dared looking down below and expected the worst. While the mist hindered her eyes, Mashiro saw it vividly.
That the sea turned RED.
She quickly looked away. Her whole body was in shock and didn't move from her spot.
It seemed she didn't get over the horror that she experienced during the magical world. It was normal to think of it, from a psychological cause to develop PTSD and it was so bad that she got stuck in a toddler's body that didn't get used from this stress.
"Mashiro!" Tyilinmon snapped her out from the trance she got stuck. Mashiro realized that she forgot to breath, her heart throbbed as it wants to burst. "I'm glad that you are still there. Do you forgot as long as I am here, I shall not anyone harm you and be by your side till the end!"
Right... How did she forgot this? Well, it doesn't matter right now.
Suddenly, they heard a song from the sea. Its voice was so much in agony as it cries for losing its precious ones.
Mashiro wanted to tell Tyilinmon to fly them down to see, but in hesitation she wasn't sure.
It could be a siren that lures them into the Sea, like in the sailor's stories.
In the end, Mashiro made the final call.
"Let's see what this song leads to us! Prepare in caution! We might not know what is the cause of the mist and why the sea turned red all of the sudden!"
'Goddamnit... Why do I sound like a shounen character? That role belongs to Takuma Momozuka...' Mashiro shakes her head.
She pointed out the direction of where the voice echoed the most.
As Tyilinmon lowered again, they saw it clearly why the sea was so red.
Countless Corpses floated everywhere, it was a sight that cruelty also exists here as well.
"Mhm...? What is this smell?" Gammamon woke up as a metallic smell hit in his nose. As he saw what is going on, he was also speechless as Mashiro.
"W-what... What is this?" His voice was shaken. His arm cling to the human girl's arm. She too, was horrified.
In summary, it looked like in a battle field. Most are the Pokemon that are floating around than the minority of men as Mashiro barely glanced the scene. It makes her feel sick. Even her pokeballs were shaken at the horror.
She noticed a dead man who holds a leash that is frozen with his arm to his throat. 'I see...Those were poachers..." Mashiro confirmed grim and noticed big ice clunks that stick in different body-parts.
The voice became clearer as they reach to their destination.
The sea pokemon who sang a sorrowful song was revealed. It looked at them menacing as they would harm it.
Mashiro cannot help but pity the sea pokemon who lost all its family and friends. What can she do when she's still in a toddler's stage?
Nothing.
She noticed that it stares at her, as if it looked right into her soul and did the same.
Just then the Loch Ness-like pokemon open its mouth and shoots Mashiro an ice beam towards her.
Luckily enough Tyilinmon quickly evade it.
"Mashiro! What should we do towards this pitiful soul?" Her partner asked while she quickly dodged several ice beams that kept shooting at them.
"I want to save it!" Mashiro shouts while clenching her hands to a fists, "No one should be suffer like this! As a human, I am ashamed towards my own species for just killing a Pokemon for greed of money! I will take the responsibility even if it's not mine to bear!"
"Hmph... It's nice to say. Well then, hang your hands tight to my fur." Tyilinmon closed its eyes the flew higher than ever before. Tyilinmon's body shines in a nice shade of gold and the light breakthrough the mist. It flaps its wing as Tyilinmon and Mashiro said together at the same time.
"Wave of Reformation!"
Tyilinmon's holy power expands across the whole mist even the Loch Ness-like pokemon cannot escape from it.
The holy power did not hurt the Pokemon, rather it remembers the day how it spent its time with his family and was friendly to the humans. Until it learned that even humans are like the predators in their sea as they robbed everything that's dear to the Pokemon.
It began to cry. It realizes that the small human child had nothing to do with it and the pokemon only vented its rage on her.
The white mist finally dissolved, the sea became what its original was and the bodies were burned into the ashes by the power of Tyilinmon.
Tyilinmon stood in a good distance from the mournful Pokemon.
"Do you realize by now, that there are good and evil all over this world. Not everything is beautiful as we all have to suffer from the system called 'fate' to experience those cruelty and suffering." Tyilinmon spoke. The Loch Ness-like pokemon stared at them intensely.
Mashiro spoke as well. "Whatever your decision might be... It will be a hard way to overcome it."
A small human and a creature it has never seen before, even though they are different, it can see they're the one of the same being.
The Pokemon cannot tell in words as it was stunned to speak. Despite all of this, it wants to be with them to open a new world before it.
It wants to trust them as the Loch Ness-like pokemon saw them as good beings who were journeying around the world.
It finally let out a cry out as it let them conquer its heart and headed towards them.
To their surprise, it used its head to nudge Mashiro's stomach.
"W-what are you acting so suddenly...?" Asked Mashiro bewildered.
While Gammamon and Tyilinmon observed the scene.
"Mashiro... I think it wants to come with us." Pointed Gammamon out.
"Eh, really? I don't think so considered of what we had saw everything..."
The Loch Ness-like pokemon let's out a cry from what Gammamon said.
Tyilinmon nudges Mashiro's head. "This guy is more saver with us, Mashiro. Who knows if the same group will hunting him again when its all alone." Convinced she said.
The child puts two fingers between chin as she was thinking. From what Tyilinmon said was correct of her speculation. Mashiro then brought out an healball from her pocket that she fished out from the sea and held in front of the Loch Ness-like pokemon to its face or Mashiro said Lapras, from its species.
With no hesitation, Lapras tapped its head to the button to be caught and with the sound of click from the Healball, Lapras was caught by Kusanagi Mashiro.
Mashiro doesn't know how to feel as she didn't identify her emotions well . Maybe it will be good to go to the therapy for Lapras and for herself again.
"I call you Tiamat. After the name of the primordial sea goddess and mother to all creation who loved their children, despite leaving her behind."
Since the Pokemon world is not like a wonderland at all.
-
"Mashiro look," Tyilinmon called her out as she didn't realize that they continued to fly, it must be several hours when she was in deep in her thoughts. Mashiro couldn't believe what she had seen.
They finally reached hoenn in the Southwest of the mainland, Dewford town.
"Where should I land?" Tyilinmon questioned.
"Mmm... Somewhere that the people do not see us. But it's apparently difficult to do that." Mashiro folds her arms together.
Then a bright idea popped up in the head hold Tiamat's pokeball in her right hand and Tiamat smiled at her inside the Ball.
"How about you take a breather, Tyilinmon? I'm quite sure you're exhausted during the flight while maintaining your form." Mashiro Offered.
Tyilinmon heartily agrees and devolves back to Kudamon as Mashiro lets out Tiamat the Lapras and jumps to her shell.
Tiamat was surprised to Kudamon who could devolve back to who she was and was sleeping in bliss on Mashiro's lap. It was a strange thing to see as no Pokemon can pull that off. Perhaps, the small fox and Gammamon came not from here, that human child as well she concluded. But it doesn't matter where they come from since they saved her from the darkness, she didn't believe she could escape from it.
"Gammamon? What are the rules if we make contact with the civilisation?" Mashiro folded her arms when she questioned Gammamon, who raised his hand like a school kid.
"One: I should not speak to them as it will raise questions, Two: If I'm lost in the crowd I'll have to wait in a secure area, and third: If I get kidnapped by some bad vibe people, I will not hesitate to fight back." He memorized the rules with claw counting with a big grin on his face.
Yep, a perfect mascot for her agency. Because Gammamon's smile is the cutest in the world. Mashiro declared in approval.
"Aah~🎵" Tiamat cried out a melody, to announce to them that they reached the shore.
"Mm?" An old sailor noticed them while ignoring two bickering children in the background. "What a fine Lapras you have, lassie! I haven't seen one as they're almost in brink of extinction. Thanks from those damn poachers!" He angrily raises his fist to the air when he thought about it.
Mashiro flinched from the loud voice the old sailor had and to the fact that two children bickering each other about Pokemon gyms and 80 days challenge or something didn't help since having a keen of hearing has some drawbacks.
"Well actually..." Mashiro told what actually happened with some tweaks that she was a survivor from a shipwreck and drifted far from home, where she didn't remember it and that her parents sunk along with the ship.
Being a child, you have to lie like the god of mischief himself for having no other options.
She cannot tell who to trust if it happens to be a human trafficker or an lolicon.
As Mashiro finished her tale, the old sailor was in tears and his bird pokemon tried to comfort him.
"Ooh... You poor child!" He lament for her misfortune gave her a sudden hug to her surprise. "Y-you did it well! I might be too old for adopting a child like you, unfortunately, however I wish you luck to find a place where you belong once your travel is over!"
As the old man in between his 70-80 let Mashiro go who was frozen of what did happen in the last minutes.
"T-thank you... I really appreciate it mister." Was all she had to say.
"Just call me Gramps, young miss!" The old sailor patted her shoulder in a friendly manner as they're acquainted already.
"Okayyy..."
Mashiro eyed the bigger children who were still bickering at each other.
"'Pokemon should be cute and beautiful. They're not used for battles!'", the girl with blue eyes mocked the boy and added, "Guess Ya're still saying that Huh!"
The boy however, crossed his arms and turned away from her out of annoyance. "And what's wrong with that? I've my own way of doing these!! Ultimate beauty is the way to go! Contests are wonderful!! I don't see a cave woman living without clothes in the wild, could understand this!!" He said with a stubborn attitude.
The six year old girl swayed her eyes on the girl who gives really a Tarzan vibe, but with clothes on thankfully.
"... Are they already acting like this before I arrived?" Mashiro questioned the old sailor who nodded and both sweat dropped on their forehead, when pretty boy and the wild girl were glaring at each other.
"Ey... You two..." The sailor Gramps tried to stop them, fortunately they turned their backs at each other.
"Hmph! Anyway, I don't have time to argue with ya now!" The girl with the blue eyes that resembled a sapphire huffed.
The boy with red eyes like rubies only replied. "Same here!"
And they ran in the same direction while the boy bowed to the old sailor without noticing there's a small girl behind the old man, who was watching them go.
"Mr. Briney, thank you very much for your help."
"O-Oh." The old sailor, Mr. Briney replied as the boy ran off.
"WHY ARE YA FOLLOWING ME?!" The tarzan girl yelled him.
"WE'RE JUST GOING TO THE SAME DIRECTION, MIND YOU!!" He yelled back.
'When will be their wedding...' Mashiro questioned with a deadpanned expression as she saw them go until their shadows vanished.
Mashiro went back to her goals for this year and waved Mr. Briney with a thin smile.
"It was nice to meet you, Gramps. Now we have to part in our own ways."
The old sailor laughed. "Ho-ho! Same thing to you, Lassie! Let wave and the wind takes you where there's luck!
Her shoes took One step of the sand as if she was on the moon. Mashiro raised her hand to the sun and smiled brightly.
"Small steps to everything are the big steps to the future in my hand!"
Mashiro races off wherever her heart tells her, releases Inari's and Sui's pokeballs and races along with their trainer to the cave.
They did not know how much danger lies inside.
