Chapter 1: Who could ever leave me, darling?
Chapter Text
It’s been 1 month since their big fight, Gojo left their home they made together. He had been busy with missions but Nanami knew it was because he didn’t want to be home. Nanami was stuck at home, waiting for his alpha to come home and talk it out. Finally, after a few weeks he got Gojo to agree to talk once more about the situation.
Nanami spent the day cooking Gojo's favorite food, hoping to have a nice dinner while discussing this misunderstanding and their relationship. It was a bit hard to get dinner done on time since he was 7 months pregnant and his movement was slowed down.
He heard the door open, his heart leap with joy to have Gojo back home.
“Let’s just get this over with,” Gojo walked in their home, giving off cold energy. He directly goes to the living room taking a seat. This hurt Nanami.
“I made dinner for us and then we-”
“I already ate.” Gojo was mad but kept his anger in check. He can sense Nanami’s hurt.
“Oh. Ok.” Nanami doesn’t say anything else. He takes a seat across from Gojo. There was a silence before Gojo spoke.
“I guess we should discuss co-parenting,” Gojo said.
“What!?” Nanami was not expecting this, he wanted to fix their relationship, not leave in pieces. The inner omega was feeling the bond was weakening since their last fight but he didn’t think Gojo was going to do this. “But we didn’t even discuss about us!?”
“What is there about us? ” Gojo was hurt. He was trying to be civil for Nanami and the baby’s sake, not to stress the omega for health reasons.
“You’re joking? Satoru, you haven’t been home, you've been ignoring me since our last argument. I miss you. We have a baby on the way. Our family.” Nanami needed him home. He tries to keep his emotions in check due to the hormones and the pregnancy. “We can fix this misunderstanding. Please.”
“Do I look like I’m joking?” Gojo pulls off his blindfolds, the stare was cold. “I needed time to think.” He can feel and see the hurt on Nanami’s face but he was hurting too.
“Sato, please talk to me!”
“Misunderstanding? You cheated!” Gojo snapped. “In our fucking home too!”
“I told you I didn’t! I love you and bonded with you! Why do you keep accusing me of cheating!” Nanami said with hurt, tears were forming in his eyes. “Sato, where is this coming from?”
Gojo took a deep breath, he was holding back his angry tears. “I came here to discuss our baby and to co-parent not to hear you lie.”
Tears spilled out of Nanami’s eyes as he felt Gojo’s anger. “I would never, Sato.”
“I will ask you one more time to come clean. Did you cheat on me?”
“No! Never!” Nanami felt the room shift with Gojo’s powers, this scared him a bit.
Gojo pulls out an envelope, throws pictures of Nanami with another man onto the coffee table.
This shocked the omega. “That’s not me!”
“Fucking joking. These are all your favorite places Kento! Look at these, they are all the bakery places you love!” Gojo was pissed now because Nanami was lying to his face. “I also found other alpha’s clothing in our fucking home. Just tell me the truth!”
“I’m not lying. Please believe.” Nanami was crying, his hormones were not helping. “I don’t know this man nor how those got in our home. Please believe me, Sato!”
“I would have almost believed you, but the pictures and the smell of another alpha in our home proves you are a great actor and a liar.” Gojo snapped.
“Sato-”
“How can you hurt me like this, us, our family!” Gojo was crying, they felt each other's pain. “I came here to just talk about our co-parenting. You lying to me is not helping.”
“I am telling you the truth.” Nanami was crying. “Please-”
“You’re starting to sound like a broken record.”
“The only person was the plumber, who came to fix the sink, I told you that! Satoru!” Nanami came closer to Gojo but he moved away. “Don’t leave our home.”
“Just tell me the truth, then maybe.” Gojo just wanted the truth.
“I didn’t cheat,” Nanami scent should have been enough for Gojo.
“Then what is this?” Gojo pulled out another two items, it was Nanami’s favorite watch that Gojo gifted and a scarf. “I found them in this fucking alpha aparment!”
“WHAT!” Nanami’s inner omega was panicking because those were his things. Gojo’s alpha is now angry after getting the scent from Nanami. “I..I..don’t know…I mean its my stuff but-”
“I came to discuss our baby but now I am questioning if it’s even mine!” Gojo’s scent was aggressive. The bond was weakening even more.
This did not sit well with Nanami, he mustered up the little fight in him, the old him. “Fuck you!” The alpha he loved just accused him of affair and their bond was shattering slowly but he was crying even more. He regretted his words when he should have been trying harder, the omega instinct was screaming at him.
“Apparently others too!” Gojo shot back. “You know what! I want a DNA test.”
“This is…our..baby,” Nanami was crying hard, those words were breaking him. “Pl…please, don’t do this.” Nanami moved closer to Gojo trying to grab his hands but he moved away again.
Both of them were shedding tears. “I can’t, Kento.”
“I am sorry for getting mad…let’s talk.” Nanami begged for him, Gojo and their baby. “Ple…pleas.”
“I think it’s best if we separate.” With that, Gojo severed their bond. “Take care till then.”
“No, no,no,no,” Nanami tries to hold onto Gojo but he teleports out. Leaving him alone.
He falls to the floor crying and gasping for air. Nanami feels the pain, the hurts of his own heart, crying for his alpha.
Chapter Text
It's been 2 days since their broken bond, Nanami was a mess, he cried over and over until he fell asleep.
Gojo ignored him again.
He knew Gojo can be petty but to ignore him seem mean especially knowing they have a baby on the way.
Was he being serious about being the baby's father?
His mind kept replaying their arguments, he knew he didn't cheat. He knows if he wasn't in a pregnant state with emotions he would have been more rational and try to fix it with Gojo. And probably kick his alpha ass for accusing of cheating in the first place and questioning his character too.
Gojo should know his heart.
How dare Gojo, accused of cheating then ask for a paternity test, the statement alone from that hurt Nanami’s core.
The hurt and the emotions are coming back, he doesn't like this. Another wave of sorrow hits him, as he wants Gojo back.
“I’m alone,” Whispered to himself, tears falling once again. Suddenly, he gets a hard kick from the baby which hurts and makes him chuckle with his sobs.
"OW!" Nanami whines. "Sorry, forgot you are here too.” He felt the baby moving around.
He rubs his belly, thinking of his little one. He takes a deep breath, trying to calm his emotion for his baby. “Mama is sorry but your daddy is being an idiot.”
Their baby will be here soon, they all should be together but instead their little family is broken before their little one came to the world, this hurted Nanami the most.
He needed to try harder, get their family together at least for the baby's sake. Gojo should be here by his side for the baby, being there for the journey regardless of their argument.
Right now he needs to think logically, well maybe later when his emotions and hormones are calmer, he hoped.
He sighed. “I’m going to give your daddy space but don’t worry he loves you very much even though he is being a dum dum by going away,”
Maybe some space between us will help and he’ll come back or call back
Nanami realized he needed to fix this for their baby. “I guess you're craving ice creams and french fries again.” He smiles to himself as the baby kicks gently.
Notes:
This story is my simple project. Kinda mad at Gojo even though I wrote this.
Chapter 3: You're On Your Own
Chapter Text
It’s been a week. He gave Gojo a week of space and to think rationally. Nanami was the first to reach out by text. He had to mentally prepare for this, for their family. Even though Gojo had broken their bond, he still had hope. Omegas get very attached to their alpha and need them during their pregnancy. He takes a deep breath to write out his message.
Nanami: Hello Sato, Please just read to the end before responding or atleast read it. I miss you very much. I want you to come home, our home. I am very sorry for how I handled our last discussion. I want us to talk again please. I’m hurting so much because I miss you. I just want you to come back, we can work this out slowly but I need you to communicate with me. If you don’t want to discuss this then at least come home for the baby. Please Sato, I just want to fix this. I love you and miss you.
With that he pressed send. He started confidently but now the strong feeling of hurt and emotions arise, he’s crying again. He wanted to say so much more, yell at him, ask him where the proof was coming from but instead he self blamed and begged something that he never did because he wanted his alpha back for him and their baby. How could he just break their bond like that.
Then there was a ding on the phone from Gojo which made Nanami’s heart happy.
Gojo: I miss you too. Just tell me the truth and get a DNA test.
Nanami: I didn’t cheat please believe me, you know me. Where are these proof coming from?
Gojo: It doesn’t matter where its coming from, this is about you lying. Just get the DNA test so we both know the baby is MINE! Then we can sort this out after.
This hurts Nanami when Gojo keeps saying the baby wasn’t his.
Nanami: DNA test? You were being serious, I promise this baby is your. I need you, the baby needs you. At least try for the baby.
Gojo: WOW! Trying to baby trap me. Is this for the baby or is this more for you? Just get the testing done, why are you making this hard because this will solve some of your lying.
This made Nanami angry. It was like Gojo didn’t know him at all, he knew Gojo can be petty but this was a low.
Nanami: Satoru, in my heart and soul, this baby is yours. I know this because I DIDNT CHEAT! If I take a DNA test, it's basically admitting that I did cheat by not knowing the father of my baby. For someone who has Six-eyes, you are blind and dense because you should know me but instead of LISTENING, you’re just going off a proof which you refuse to tell me where you got it from, which should tell you its a RED FLAG! Communication is key. GROW UP! We should be able to solve this together. I love you so much but I can’t keep arguing, I’m mentally and physically exhausted which I can’t keep doing because it's stressing the baby too. I will give you and us a space. Do whatever you want until the day of the delivery of the baby. I want you to be there for us or at least the baby because they are just innocent in all this. And I don’t want you to miss the birth of our baby and have regrets later. I have apologized and I love you but I can’t keep going back and forth with you. Just talk to me when you’re ready, Sato.
He’s sobbing again. He turned off his phone not wanting to see Gojo’s messages for now, walking away to his nest, trying to relax his body. It hurted him to write this message to Gojo but it had to be done. Yes he loves Gojo and wants him back. But.
Nanami had to at least try to move forward for the baby, he needed to be positive. His main focus was their little one now.
Yet his heartache for the love of his life.
Chapter Text
Shoko notices Gojo’s behavior has changed, he’s more quiet or moody and most of all he stops talking about Nanami or excitement of becoming a dad. Ever since Nanami’s pregnancy news Gojo has been super annoying to everyone about this excitement about becoming a dad but now, no mention of anything.
“You've been awfully quiet for the past month.” Shoko looked up from her paperwork.
“Just stuff.”
“Is it Nanami? Has he been having those crazy pregnancy cravings or complaining about the discomfort he has gotten close to birth?”
“I don’t know.”
“Hmm. What’s wrong?” Shoko noticed his body language. “You've been quiet about becoming a dad suddenly.”
“Nothing.”
“Satoru!”
“You really wanna know?” Gojo felt mad thinking about Kento.
“That’s why I am asking!” Shoko just looked at her friend.
“Fine! I left Kento.” Gojo was irritated. “He cheated and I can’t deal with him lying, so I broke our bond. I even asked him to get a DNA test but he said no. He’s so delusional and stubborn, maybe both!”
“What!” Shoko was shocked, she didn’t know where to begin. “I need you to explain from the beginning because this doesn’t make sense.”
Gojo explains everything from the photos to Nanami’s lies and even showed her the text from Nanami begging him to come home.
“I can’t believe this is happening.” Gojo admits.
“Sorry but I find this hard to believe, omegas don’t cheat because of loyalties to their mated alpha, especially pregnant omega. It’s very…very rare but Nanami is not the type either. And where did this proof come from?”
“Excuse me!”
“Calm down. I am trying to get the facts.”
“Well Shoko, it seems like you're on Kento’s side!” Gojo was getting madder. “I got the proof in pictures from someone my grandma knew, the clothing in our home from another alpha in our home, and the maid that comes twice a week confirmed too! Isn’t that enough proof!” Gojo felt hurt.
“I understand but biology wise pregnant omegas are extreme cautions-” Shoko was caught off.
“Forget about your facts on omegas! Kento cheated and he refuses to get a paternity test, that should tell you something! And you're supposed to be my friend!”
Shoko knew Nanami well enough and the biology of omegas that something wasn’t right. Gojo was an aggressive alpha who was not thinking clearly either.
“Do you still love him?”
“What?!”
“Do you love him?”
“Yes, that’s what hurts the most. I wish he gets the test done so at least we can move forward, plan for the baby but at the same time I am scared if the baby isn’t mine. I can’t just take his words either.” Gojo was mad but he missed Nanami. “I wanted a family with him, Shoko.”
“The baby is yours for the record, you dumb alpha.” Shoko sighed. She didn’t want to argue with an alpha that wasn’t willing to listen.
“How would you know?” Gojo felt hope.
“Are you serious?! The Gojo clan has requested genetic health screening since the beginning of this whole pregnancy.” Shoko knew the truth, they didn’t care for Nanami’s health, they just wanted to know if the baby would inherit the curse techniques. They always check every month on the baby, a powerful family having access to everything. She had helped Nanami find OBGYN, when the time comes he can give birth in peace away from Jujitsu society and the Gojo Clan and she would still be by Nanami's side in the delivery room.
“Oh.” He felt so happy knowing the baby was his but he was still mad with Kento. “Sorry, I had so much on my mind, I forgot about that.”
“Well, you should go be with your pregnant omega.”
“I need to think before I see him.”
“Satoru listen please, Nanami needs you during this time, alphas comfort and make them feel secure during pregnancy and being away from you will stress him which will cause stress for the baby too, especially since you broke off the bond.” Shoko needs Gojo to understand. “Just be civil to him, wait until the baby is born to discuss the situation of the affair.”
“Fine, I will but I just need to think.” Gojo still wanted Nanami to admit it. “It feels like you seem to be on his side though.”
“Grow up! I’m not on any side. As a doctor and a friend , I need Nanami and the baby to be healthy. YOUR BABY! ” Shoko felt like Gojo wasn’t listening. She definitely needed him to be more rational. “You know what, go take a good walk and clear your head.”
“Whatever, bye.” Gojo walking out of her lab.
The minute Gojo left, Shoko grabbed her keys and her small medical bag to see Nanami. She understood Gojo’s feeling, however, something didn’t add up. She will ask Nanami later about it.
Right now her priority was Nanami’s mental and physical health. Omegas don’t do well with a broken bond, especially a pregnant one.
Notes:
I said OBGYN because I couldnt think of an omega delivery doctor at 2 AM lol, and I got work in few hours :-)
Chapter 5: I can't breathe without you, but I have too
Chapter Text
Today was going to be a wonderful day for him and the baby.
Shoko had encouraged him to go out and enjoy the outside to get his mind off Gojo. She had examined him when she arrived that day, it was nice to have a friend, he thought she would side with Gojo since they were closer but he was wrong, she came for him. She seemed worried at the same time for him and the baby, yelling at him to forget Gojo for the time being because his blood pressure was high and that would lead to complications. She needed him to move around and enjoy the pregnancy in a positive way, keep his mind and body calm.
Nanami decided to start on some project, the first one being the baby room. Originally, he and Gojo were going to design it after the baby was born but now it's just him. Omegas keep their baby in their nesting area in the beginning due to instinct, keeping them safe and hourly feeding, Nanami still wanted a space for the baby to keep their things, so why not start early.
He spent the first few days designing the baby's nursery with interior designer, cute simple nature theme, mostly white and sage green. However, he did give an envelope to the designer for the gender, so the accent colors would pop, light pink for a girl or soft blue for a boy. The room would be a surprise for him after the baby is born. He made sure it was all on Gojo’s card.
Second project was learning baby and mama yoga.
Nanami even started to take himself out for foodie or movies.
Today, he started off the day trying to put on his clothes, then the shoes. As he got bigger he just wore Gojo's shirts or hoodies with sweatpants or no pants since he was home. But today he needed to go out in public and look presentable. Took him 20 minutes to put on shoes.
"Finally!" Taking a good look in the mirror. His features got softer as his pregnancy progressed, no more sharp cheeks, long hair again. Wearing all black with white stretchy pants and black peacock coat, he looks exactly like in high school but with a pregnant belly. He did have that glow which brought a smile to his face. "We are going to have a nice day, get that unlimited pasta then get double chocolate cheesecake and mochi. You definitely have your daddy's sweet tooth."
He needed to walk and go outside for the fresh air for the baby at least instead of being sad and crying every hour in his nest.
Nanami felt really good and happy.
After baby shopping for clothes, he got hungry again for cakes. “Can’t believe we're going for our fourth dessert. So, he went to his favorite place, where he ran into a coworker during his salary days. They caught up on old times and parted their ways with a hug.
When he got home, there was a shift in the air with a powerful curse energy. Nanami just put his stuff down knowing it's Gojo. Nanami takes a deep breath as he prepares to walk into the living room. Oh, his heart leapt for joy again when his mind was racing.
“Hey,” Gojo said as he was mad but kept his cool when he smelled someone on Nanami. His omega looked beautiful, the glow of pregnancy. Then he realized Nanami was not his. He came here to talk and get help for them like therapy or a least for Nanami.
“Hey,” Nanami sat down across from Gojo.
There was silence for a few minutes.
“I see you went out,” Gojo bluntly stated.
“Yeah, went shopping for the baby,” Nanami sighed. He was having a good day but now he is worried.
“Sure for the baby.” Both of them were intense now.
“What's that supposed to mean?” Nanami didn’t like this.
“Nothing.”
“Please just tell me why you are here. I don’t want to fight.”
“I guess we should discuss the baby.” Gojo said, looking at Nanami.
“You finally came to your senses about the baby, good,” Nanami said but he decided he probably should not let his angry talk. “Sorry, I am happy you came to talk.”
“Look, I don’t have much plan but to raise the baby together. I will be coming back a few weeks before you give birth. I just want to make sure everything is good. I will be staying with you, helping you with everything even after birth. I want to be a good dad.”
“Ok,” Nanami felt so happy to hear this.
“I guess we can work out other things as we go along as the baby grows. The house is yours now but I will stay somewhere else, this is like after the baby is older.” Gojo said. “Our relationship and discussion is just the baby, ok.
This caught Nanami by surprise, he thought over time Gojo would come to his senses and come back and be a family. His inner omega was starting to get restless hearing this news.
“What! I thought we were going to work this out.”
“What?” Gojo did want Nanami but he was too angry, smelling someone on Nanami.
“I just thought we could get couple counseling,” Nanami said. “And work this out.”
“Why would I do counseling when you could just admit the cheating!” Gojo snapped.
“I DIDN’T CHEAT!” Nanami yelled, his breathing started to get heavier. He didn’t like yelling like this.
“OH WOW!” Gojo felt angrier as Nanami lied. “I just smelled an alpha on you while you walked in then saying its’ baby shopping. Buying baby things as cover or did he think that was his baby!”
“Satoru, please,” Nanami was scared because it was happening again as before. “Sato, he was a coworker, we were catching up, he just hugged me. Nothing else.” Nanami said as he tried to hold back the tears.
“Why can’t you just tell me the truth! If it wasn’t for the maid or the pictures I would have believed you!”
“Sato, please. If we work together I’m sure we can figure this out and what’s happening to us.” Nanami begged again.
“Just admit he was one of your affair partners!”
“Satoru, please. He just hugged me, nothing else.” This made Gojo more mad.
“WOW! He managed to hug you huh?,” Gojo asked.
“What?” This confused Nanami. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“He managed to hug a big fat cow. Kinda surprised you could even fit that door going out.” Gojo said with anger.
Nanami just stared.
He couldn’t believe it. It’s like the Gojo he knows is no longer there. His heart was swelling up and his breathing was heavier. The tears he was holding slid down his cheeks in silence. This shattered his heart, his body was for their family. A body Gojo praised for growing their baby and love. Once loved.
Gojo felt instant regret after the scent in the air and the hurt Nanami showed.
Nanami was trying to hold on to his emotions and breathing. He managed to find his voice to speak. In a soft quiet voice, “Pl…please leave, I…I’m tired.”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it,”
His voice and body was starting to shake with so much emotion but he didn’t want to be in front of Gojo, trying so hard to stay composed. Worst part was the baby used this time to move around. “Leave, pl..please.…” He takes a deep breath to calm down for the baby. “I’m tired .” He managed to walk away.
“Kento,” Gojo felt bad, he wanted to hug his omega. He felt stupid yet hurt once again by his heart for Nanami.
“Goodnite, Sato,” Nanami said as he walked upstairs, not looking at Gojo. As more tears fell.
He got in the shower quickly, once he felt Gojo's presence was gone, Nanami let go of everything he held in. The sobbing and the yelling until no more.
He just sat there in the shower feeling numb by a broken heart.
Chapter 6: It's time to look for clues
Chapter Text
After the last visit with Gojo, he had been crying again for days, not that he wanted to, it just happened. When he was doing yoga, crying, when he went on a walk, crying, watching a movie, crying, and so on, he was annoyed at himself.
Nanami was tired of crying.
His stupid omega instinct and heart was yearning for that stupid man. But, he told himself he can’t deal with Gojo for the time being, right now he needed to focus on anything but Gojo.
Then one night, he decided to start a different project all thanks to a detective show. Nanami was going to investigate on his own what happened and connect the dots. Also this will keep him busy.
He told himself once the baby is born he was going to kick Gojo’s ass, then make that man work for it, then they can become a family again. Yes, his heart still had hope, that Gojo talked out of anger yet his logical side told himself the old him would not tolerate this from Gojo.
He didn’t want to dwell on his mixed feelings otherwise he would start crying, again.
The biggest motivation was to rub it in Gojo’s face how wrong he was. This was the fire and anger he needed to distract him for now.
This excited him as he prepared this little library room with clues, if anyone were to see the wall full of pictures, texts, clothing, his own timeline with location match with fakes with different strings, they would think he was solving a case or he lost his mind to a conspiracy.
He didn't care, the goal was to rub in Gojos face how wrong he was about everything.
He spent a few days organizing everything. The one thing that stuck out the most was the maid, who was sent there to help Nanami twice a month by Gojo's grandmother, he knew her reason was that her grandson needed a better clean home. But the maid came from a cleaning service, not from the clan house.
But where did the pictures come from? And who took them.
He knew he wasn't with someone, they had the same clothing and hair, if an outsider saw this they would think it was him too.
His only option was to start with the maid clue.
Nanami was finally ready to be in petty angry stage.
Chapter 7: Come to your senses
Chapter Text
Shoko was mad at Gojo, she didn’t think her friend got stupider but he did. She did her best to give him space and understand him but at this point she didn't care.
“Let me get this straight, you called him fat cow because you couldn’t communicate like an adult and let your emotions do the talking. Now you're sad because he told you to not talk to him until the baby is due.” Shoko was mad.
“Yes. My feelings were hurt by smelling him from another alpha” Gojo tried to explain himself.
“Well good for Nanami,” Shoko was glad Nanami distanced himself from Gojo.
“WHAT!”
“Listen, YOU are stressing Nanami and the baby out, his blood pressure is high already, a break from you would do good because your stupidity is even hurting my head.” Shoko sighs.
“He hurted me, me!” Gojo felt this was unfair.
“Yes, I understand. If you care for your baby at least then wait after the baby is born.” Shoko was tired talking to Gojo.
“Fine, I will wait. But you know, Nanami is desperate, he had the audacity to ask if he brought proof I would take him back and work for it. Like what proof. I think he is being delusional.”
Shoko stopped for a moment to look at Gojo, something was off about this indeed. Omega doing everything to show proof he was loyal even though there was proof against them, this could mean he losing himself mentally for an alpha or he actually knows the truth but the odds are against him.
“What?” Gojo looking at Shoko.
“As sorcerer you investigate the rumors or the blur pictures the people say monsters, why not do that with Nanami? You are so hurt and in your emotion that you haven’t stopped to ask for a moment what if you needed to help Nanami. What if he’s so delusional that he doesn’t know. Did you think about that?” Shoko sighs. She needed Gojo to think more rationally.
“What are you saying? That Nanami needs help.” Gojo didn't know how to feel about this.
“You claim to have proof, then show it to Nanami, who denies it. Either he’s having psychosis in this pregnancy with cheating or something is off about the situation.” Shoko was hoping Gojo understands. “Either way, if you still love him, then solve this together and learn from the clues you find.”
“What if-”
“It’s about finding the truth regardless. Give Nanami space for now, I will check up on him. You need to control your emotions, we have one month before the baby and I can’t have you stress Nanami during delivery when you're supposed to comfort him.”
“I’m trying.”
“Try harder. After the baby is born, then you can do whatever but for now don’t stress Nanami!” Shoko hopes Gojo comes to his senses, especially knowing mated omegas don’t cheat.
“Ok,” Gojo did miss Nanami.
“I’m serious. If you feel mad or frustrated, come to me first, so we can talk it out.” Shoko said.
“Fine,” Gojo whined.
“You’re about to be a dad, it’s important for you to have a healthy relationship with your baby’s mama.”
“I know.”
Shoko hopes Gojo does come to his senses.
Chapter 8: Could it be?
Chapter Text
Nanami spent two days following the maid, the first day was a loss because he had fallen asleep after eating a Burrito in the car waiting for her. He knows he gets tired, hungry, or has to pee more often due to the pregnancy but today he was prepared.
He knows he should be at home relaxing at 8 months, not investigating but this project just keeps his mind on business, it wasn't like he was chasing anyone just following from a distance.
The maid goes to her house which shocked Nanami because this was the so-called affair partner home Gojo visited.
He watched her as she greeted her boyfriend who looked so familiar, Nanami knew he saw the face but where. This man looked so familiar that it was bothering Nanami. He had to come up with a plan to meet this man after the maid left their house. It was 5 hours of waiting but it was worth it.
He knocked on the door, pretending to be lost helpless pregnant omega asking for direction. It was better to play this role then argue with alpha at this stage where he can’t move or run much. With some flirtatious remarks and ego boost, the alpha was nice enough to share information.
His brother works for an old family as a security guard for an old lady. And the old lady was Gojo’s grandmother. Immediately, he went home to add this information to his wall, he was angry.
Gojo’s grandmother didn’t like Nanami.
He was everything she hated. Nanami was the omega who worked, spoke up and Gojo saw as equals.
But over time he assumed she was neutral with him with some remark here or there. Nanami ignored her because she was an old lady. The rest of the family, like Gojo’s parents, were nice and accepted him right away.
Would she have to pay someone to break them up?
The possibility is there due to money and influence.
But what if it's not her and it's someone else, the last thing he needed was the clan to be against him even more since the cheating.
He needed an answer, maybe he will go talk to her tomorrow, rule her out if he was wrong. They are family, he is carrying the heir of Gojo clan, they won’t hurt him like this knowing the baby.
His instinct is telling him he was right but he hopes it's wrong.
Chapter 9: The Clan
Chapter Text
Nanami woke up early to drive to the main Gojo Estate which was a 3 hour drive. He didn’t mind the drive due to the beautiful landscape and the small bakery and tea shop along the way. He had two main reasons to go, motivation to prove Gojo wrong and the craving baby was having. It was a win-win.
After 2 hours of driving, he got tired and his body was aching. Part of him was thinking he should have taken the bullet train but no, he had to stop at 5 different bakeries for sweet and bread.
He decided to stop at a small inn to freshen up and rest before the next drive, that 2 hour nap turned into a 7 hours nap. Now he would definitely have to stay overnight or a few days until he is ready to go. Shoko would be mad if she knew he was not resting and nesting now, but he felt like this was some sort of mind resting.
“Can’t believe you made mama nap for 7 hours, are you happy?” Nanami asks. He felt his little one move around alot today. “Of course you are, you had all kinds of sweets and bread today, now you are hyper in there, running from mama bladder to my intestine, huh. Cramping me.”
He finally arrived, 2 hours before dinner.
“Kento!” Gojo’s mom came out to hug him. “They told me you came but I can’t believe it, you shouldn’t be here! You need to rest, especially at this stage.”
“I know but I had to come and talk to Nana,” Kento said as he walked in with her. She walked him to her private chamber.
“Kento, I heard what happened, are you ok dear?” Gojo’s mom hugs Nanami once more, comforting him with the motherly scent.
“I’m ok,” Nanami felt safe with her. “Everyone probably thinks I am a horrible person.”
“I’m sorry for my son’s behavior. I know you are innocent, Kento.” She gave an apologetic smile. “We omegas are loyal when alpha easily stray, however, as omegas we get blamed for being vixen as they say. I’m sorry you are going through this. I didn’t want to bring any of this up with you when I spoke to my son. He should have waited after the baby was born because you are stressing from your broken bond now to being restless. You need to be in bed resting.”
“I know. I needed to know if she had any involvement,” Nanami felt happy yet hurt. “Thank you for believing me.” He started to cry because for the longest he needed someone to believe him beside Shoko.
“Shh, its ok, let’s get you into bed for now,” She needed him to rest. She helped him freshen up and put him to bed until dinner time. She has a feeling her mother-in-law would play a role.
Dinner was quiet and a bit awkward as some of the members were surprised to see him there while others glared but he felt secure and confident because of Gojo’s mother. She had advised him to have this conversation after giving birth, maybe she was right, he was thinking emotionally and needed to think how to approach this logically.
Everything was going fine until.
“Shouldn’t you be nesting. Especially now that you are near to birth, omegas should be at home” Nana asked. “Then again, you don’t know how to stay home, being all over town, if that’s what you modern omegas call it.”
“Mother!” Gojo’s father said.
“Mother, let’s not do this.” Gojo's mother intervened.
“Excuse me?” Nanami said, looking at Nana. He wanted to say more but he was getting odd cramps again.
“My grandson deserves better than you. We all know what you did yet you have the audacity to show your face.”
“Stop!” Gojo’s father said. “You’re going to stress him out, stop for the baby.”
“Fine,” Nana said. Rest of the dinner was in silence.
Later in the night, he was invited to tea time with Nana in private.
“I’m sure you have figured it out. After all you are a sorcerer and solving things would come easy to you.”
“Why you do it?” Nanami tries to calm himself as his bodyache.
“My Satoru deserves better, you are mixed, don’t bring much value to Gojo’s clan.” She said casually.
“Are you serious? Do you hate me so much that you made a plan? You are a vile lady.” Nanami was hurt.
“Yes, we take pride in our clan and you as nobody bring no value. I had to work extra hard to hire people to make evidence especially after you got pregnant which was unfortunate.”
“I’m going to tell Satoru,” Nanami couldn’t believe someone would do this, he feel his anxiety going up along with his emotions.
“Do you think he’ll believe you over his grandmother? Let’s be honest, he didn’t believe then what makes you think he will believe you now?” Nana smiled.
This hurts Nanami even more, all the feeling he had the night Gojo broke their bond came rushing in. Tears began to fall as he tried to wipe them away faster.
“You’re…cruel,” Nanami felt his body ache even more slowly as his emotion hits him harder.
“No, I’m just protecting my family and our reputation.”
“But…but the baby is family, a… Gojo” Nanami wanted to say more but his emotional state was high.
“Mother! Stop! You’re going to stress him out even more.” Gojo’s parents smell Nanami’s stress from the halls.
“No, he needs to know how he embarrassed the clan,” Nana yelled.
“Kento, honey, breathe,” Gojo’s mother tries to calm him. “Breathe, for the baby, ok”
“Mother, I told you not to talk to Kento,” Gojo’s father was mad. “He’s carrying our granddaughter!”
Nanami froze for a moment, did he hear that right? A little girl.
His heart was happy until he heard.
“He’s carrying a girl, a useless heir when we need a boy!” Nana was yelling at Nanami.
This broke Nanami’s heart, he and Gojo were going to wait until the birth to be a surprise for them but now it got taken away from them, not only that, his little girl is already getting picked on by the clan.
Nanami felt a sudden rage for his little girl. “You’re an old hag!” He’s crying for his baby when she didn’t do anything wrong, an innocent baby. He was crying hard. He tries to control his breathing as it gets heavier, while he is cramping again, backaching. Maybe he needs to lay down, the emotions are too high for him as he needs to focus on the baby. He felt his breathing was getting heavier.
Nanami realized something was wrong with his body.
Chapter 10: Imperfect Omega
Chapter Text
The whole clan was in chaos over Nanami. Everyone heard the commotion as Nanami and Nana got louder. It seems some didn’t like Nanami like nana. Hysterical omega arguing with the elder Gojo clan seems disrespectful to most of them.
“Kento, I need you to calm down for the baby, your body is going into distress.” Gojo’s mother picked up the scent. She tries to urge him to follow her into a bedroom for resting.
“He can’t even properly be a pregnant omega either, how shameful,” She sneered. “That daughter properly will turn out like you.”
“You shut your mouth about my baby,” Nanami was breathing heavily while crying. “My…my..my little girl…is good..” He felt like a failure as he tried to defend his baby.
“Mother enough! You are crossing the lines. Everyone else leaves and if I hear anyone bad mouth Kento, you will deal with me, the head of the clan!”
Gojo’s father had to use this alpha command to get everyone to stop. He walks over to Nanami, who is crying and trying to control his breathing, he gently picks him in bridal style as Gojo’s mother follows, taking Nanami into a quiet room for resting.
He gently puts him in bed, he tries his best to calm Nanami using his own scent, to make him feel safe and secure, hoping the similar scent of Gojo can help. His mother uses a wet towel to cool him down while trying to help him do breathing exercises. It took an hour but he finally felt ok as his breathing slowly steady.
Nanami's instinct was telling him something was wrong, he felt lost, in pain, unsure what to do as his body felt hot.
Gojo’s parents looked at each other, realizing something was still wrong.
“We need a doctor,” Gojo's father said looking at his wife. “And where is Satoru, I thought he was coming!”
“He had to take care of the mission,” Gojo’s mother said.
“That was 4 hours ago, honey. He’s the strongest, it should take him 15 minutes,” He was mad at his son, when he had requested Gojo to come and talk with Nanami.
“You know curses, ha ha ,” she gives a look to her husband saying don’t say anything else about Gojo because it will stress Nanami out even more.
“You’re right. Let’s just get that doctor for you,”
“I’m…fff..fine,” Nanami said slowly as his breathing calmed down a bit. He needed to go home, to his nest, where the smell of Gojo made him feel safe and secure for their baby. “It’s ok.”
“We should get you checked out,” Gojo's mother said.
“No, no, I’m good. I’m sorry for -”
“You have nothing to apologize for.” Gojo's dad sighed. “We should apologize. My mother has spoiled Satoru so that she would do anything for him. You and our granddaughter didn’t deserve that.”
“Thank you,” Nanami feels cramps again as he whines.
“We should get doctor-”
“No, I’m ok…just need to rest for a bit,” Nanami reassures him.
“Ok, we won’t pressure you but we’ll have someone by the door incase,” Gojo’s mother informed. That moment the maids walked in holding a jacket, pillows and a blanket. “We don’t have much of Satoru’s clothing but these were from the room he was staying in, hopefully it can bring some comfort for now.” Once they helped him feel a bit better, they bid their goodnites.
Nanami tears fell.
He heard what Gojo’s parents said about Gojo can’t come due to curses, he knew the real reason was him.
He held the blanket to his nose, the most recent scent he got from Gojo was from these items. His omega instinct needed the alpha, as his body was aching, cramping, and having anxiety. It’s like his body and mind are thrown into confusion. He muffed his cries into the pillow, not wanting to wake anyone.
Nanami was crying in silence.
He was scared.
Chapter 11: Baby I got this, right?
Chapter Text
Nanami was scared.
He was going through so much emotion, trying to be logical yet his omega instinct was telling him to leave this place for the nest back home. He was losing himself to anxiety and the cramps, as his inner omega yearns for his alpha and nest to have a safe feeling.
“I need…to be strong,” Nanami says while rubbing his belly. “We…we got this.”
He tells himself a lie trying not to panic, taking deep breaths and tries to relax yet some of the cramps are getting worse. He feels the urge to find a safe place but where.
All Nanami knew he had to leave this place.
Nanami was a great strategist on the field fighting curses, no matter the situation but at this moment he felt lost, scared, and uncertain of everything.
He chantes over and over ‘I got this’ for himself and the baby. He tries to call Gojo but it goes straight to voicemail. After 3 tries he gives up, and decides to leave this place. He wears Gojo’s jacket for scent comfort as he gets ready.
“We’re leaving this place, ok honey,” Nanami talking to the baby helps as his main focus was his little girl. “Gonna get that ice cream cake you craved earlier, you’re gonna love it.”
He managed to tell the guards he was going out for certain food craving as he got in his car, they believed him.
Soon as he left the estate, his inner omega felt a bit better yet the cramping was getting worse and his back was hurting even more. Forty minutes into the drive, his inner omega telling him to get to a safe place, like they were in danger. Maybe he shouldn’t have left the estate at 1 am where curses are roaming out into the night this late and should have asked for help from Gojo’s mother.
He was getting scared again but this time for his baby.
Nanami was feeling stupid as he pulled over in the middle of nowhere, not the safe place for a pregnant omega with curses roaming for all he knew. He needed to get his thoughts together for a moment as he took deep breaths trying not to panic.
“We’re gonna call daddy for a second,” Nanami dials but straight to voicemail, he knew Gojo would be awake now if he was on a late night training mission. His inner omega starts to panic as his body goes through another wave of pain. He starts sobbing because he doesn’t know what to do and he's scared.
“I…I…need you…Sato,” Nanami felt stupid as he talked with the voicemail. “Please..Sato, I’m scared, she needs you too.”
His breathing was getting heavy again.
Then he felt a strong kicking from his baby which brought him back from his panic state.
“You’re right, Mama got this!” Nanami calms himself, well tries too as he googles the nearest hospital. His focus now was the baby since his body was in pain and hospital was the closest thing for safety.
Luckily, the nearest one was 20 minutes.
The whole ride there Nanami was talking to his daughter as he was in tears because his inner omega was terrified but he needed to be assured.
Once he got to the hospital, he felt safe with his surroundings.
However, the nurses quickly helped him into a room, changing him into a gown and trying to ease him. They explained how his scent was in so much distress they needed to have him in a safe maternity room quickly for him and the baby because his body was in labor.
They explained to Nanami, due to panic and stress that his body was thrown into confusion as his omega instinct was fighting to find a safe place to birth the baby.
Another wave of pain came as the doctor came to look at Nanami's dilation. “I’m Dr. Yu, and it seems the baby is not waiting Mama,” she tries to calm Nanami.
This caused Nanami to panic. “No, no, no! She’s too early! I’m only 34 weeks!”
“I see,” Dr. Yu was a bit concerned but the distress Nanami was going through was making it worse with his high blood pressure. “No worries, we have done this before. I just need you to focus on your little girl, ok.”
“No, she is early.” Nanami was crying. “It’s …my…my… fault.” He felt another pain.
“Shh, it’s ok,” The nurse Lei tries to comfort him. “Some babies come early.”
They all start to get the room ready for the baby as this scared Nanami.
“Would you like me to call your alpha? They help with comfort and scenting.” Nurse Mei asked. Nanami felt stupid at this moment because he didn’t know where Gojo was.
“I..I..I don’t..he’s..Satoru,” Nanami unlocked his phone for them to get the number. After a few tries they hung up, the team of nurses knew they would be supporting Nanami.
“She..she’s 34 weeks,” Nanami was scared, alone, in pain for everything.
“Kento, You got this. Your beautiful little girl is about to come into the world in a few minutes,” Dr Yu said as she prepared for the baby.
“It hurts and I’m scared!” Nanami yelled as pain came. “My alpha…left me..”
“We’re all here for you!” As one of the nurses held his hand.
“You got this,” Another nurse said as she wiped his tears from his face.
This assured Nanami a bit because he didn’t feel alone when they were supporting him and his baby girl.
“Just breathe and listen to your body!” Dr. Yu watching for the head.
Nanami did as he listened to his body.
“She's almost here!” Dr. Yu said excitedly.
This made Nanami feel good through this pain knowing she was almost here. He forgot about everything as his world now was focused on his little girl.
“Welcome!” Dr. Yu held the baby.
Nanami felt relief for a second but everything changed when he heard no cries from his baby. They all started to move around quickly as the doctor and the nurses took his baby away immediately to a clear bassinet as the other nurses started to help him.
“My..my..girl” Nanami said in a whisper as he watched feeling hopeless.
Everything around him was a silent blur as he watched them perform CPR on his baby girl. He felt numb as he couldn’t believe what was happening, this has to be a bad dream, right.
His baby girl didn’t do anything wrong, it was him who should have done better by her, he stressed her out when he should have been resting in his nest like a good mama would.
This was his fault.
Chapter 12: I'm sorry little one when I should've protected you

Chapter Text
This was his fault.
Nanami was numb as he watched them trying to save this tiny little baby. The other nurses were talking to him but he couldn't understand words as he just heard ringing and echoes of his surroundings.
He was never much of a believer, just living through life but the first time ever Nanami was praying to something in the universe to save his little one or trade him for her life. She deserves to live.
He tried to speak but nothing came out as tears came. All his thoughts were on his baby girl.
Please, please save her! My baby! It’s my fault!
Then there was the sound of a loud cry.
“Aw, you had your mama worried!” The doctor said with joy. “We got you, little one.”
Nanami let the breath he was holding in go as his heart and soul felt relief.
Another doctor came in examining her, while the nurses quickly started to clean her up while putting in tubes and IVs on his baby.
Nanami was confused because his baby was crying but now they are putting all this medical stuff on her.
“Is..is she ok?” Nanami managed to find his voice as his started to get stressed about his baby, the omega in him was falling apart. “My..my baby,” They were taking his baby out of the room now.
“My baby!” The nurse quickly tried to calm Nanami. They know how omegas' instinct to protect their offsprings is strong and it can cause more distress being separated unexpectedly. Dr. Yu immediately comes back to Nanami.
“Kento, breath. Your little one is doing well but due to her coming early she needs to be in NICU due to lack of oxygen and observation for other medical issues.” Dr. Yu gently explained.
This made Nanami cry more because he’s blaming himself. “It’s my fault.”
“No, you did everything right.” Dr. Yu realized Nanami was not in a good state either. “We will take care of you and her. She is with Dr.Tai, our best neonatologist and our amazing NICU nurse with 24 hour care. Our goal is to examine her, make sure she gets better soon and ready to go home.”
Nanami just nods while crying still. Dr.Yu realized Nanami would need emotional support and therapist or least counseling especially knowing he came here in distress which caused the early labor. She needed him to be mentally and physically strong and happy for the baby, knowing they are in good health.
“I can see you are already being a great mama.” Dr. Yu said looking at Nanami's high blood pressure and heart rate. She needed him to calm and relax. “I need you to breath, relax for the baby, she needs you too.”
He’s trying to relax but his inner omega was distraught for being away from his baby.
“Did you plan on breastfeeding or bottling her?”
“Breastfeeding her,” Nanami said, wiping his tears as he was confused why she asking that.
“Awesome, mama. Well, your little one will get hungry and fussy soon, we’ll have a lactation consultant help you pump. I need you to let us help you now, while the nurses are going to get you clean and check for vitals, then you are going to the NICU to see your baby girl.” She needed him to have a positive mental state for him to get better soon.
Nanami felt a huge relief that he can help his little one recover faster, reading those baby’s books about breastfeed can help, his inner omega started to feel better about being a good mama. He will do everything to help her.
After half an hour, he got to see his beautiful little girl. She was tiny, 4lb and 18in, so light and fragile. Her hair was blonde white hair which seemed like a mix between their hair, but some advised him it can darken as she grows.
It sorrowed his heart seeing she had to be on oxygen and IVs, as she was being fed through a tube. They had to cover her eyes as well. He can’t even hold his little one properly as he held her in his hands for a bit through the clear case. He wanted to hold her in his chest, skin to skin, arms around her, kiss her, hug her.
Tears were forming again as she held onto his finger with her little hand.
“Mama owes you an apology. I was so busy trying to get your daddy back, so we can be a family but then mama decided to be spiteful that I ended up putting you in danger. I..I should have been at home, snuggling in the nest, getting you that…ice cream cake. But.” Nanami's tears fell as he talked. “I should have done better by you, it’s my job to protect you from everything. I realized you are my world, nothing else matters. I’m sorry..Mama is sorry.” Nanami sobs.
She was his whole world, now.
Notes:
I had to look up some NICU and learn a bit, she gonna be ok everyone.
Chapter 13: Anger and Calls
Chapter Text
Gojo had come by in the afternoon to talk it out with Nanami, once again. However, it seems Nanami was not home which was odd because where would 8 month omegas go at 6 pm, maybe he had an appointment that he forgot to tell Gojo about.
After waiting a couple of hours, he decided to check the location of Nanami. It was something they both had due to field work and missions. The minute he saw Nanami was at an Inn that was over an hour away made him angry. So many questions, like who Nanami was seeing, and how dare he take his baby to see another alpha.
Angry would be an understatement.
He looked at their pictures in the living, the surge of powers shattered all of them, along with Nanami’s favorite things.
He was hurt and crying as he picked up the broken frame of their wedding picture. “Kento, how could you!”
Then he gets a call from his parents asking him to come home, he didn’t want to hear them ask about Nanami again, so he chose to ignore them.
He laid here on the floor crying himself to sleep surrounded by broken items around the house. Turning off his phone.
When he woke up, he saw it was midnight on the wall clock which was training night with the students. He quickly hurried out of the house, leaving the mess behind. He quickly turned on the phone to message the students while ignoring Nanami because he was too mad.
After the training was done around 5 am, there were lots of notifications from the clan, his father, Nanami, and a few unknown numbers.
The clan and his nana complained about Nanami in the message, his parents were mad, he was too hurt to listen to Nanami’s. However, after a few minutes he realized Nanami called after 1 am many times which seemed unlike him. When he heard the voicemail he was a bit confused by ‘ she’ , who else would need him, his nana, probably.
Gojo heads to the estate when he gets a call again from the unknown number again, ignoring it.
He went to see his Nana as she told him to ignore the phone call as she explained to him about Nanami’s behavior and outburst.
They called again, this time he picked up to yell at them.
“Nana, give me a moment. I will be back,” Gojo steps out for privacy.
“Hello?” Picking the call.
“Hello, Is this Gojo Satoru?”
“ Maybe… Is this a scam about-”
“No! I’m a nurse from Green Lake Hospital. Are you Gojo Satoru?”
“Yes,”
“I am calling you regarding Gojo Kento, who is our patient at the hospital. As his alpha, we are informing you that he is ok but in distress during this time as he went into labor early-”
“WHAT! LABOR!?” Gojo’s brain was panicking. “WHAT HOSPITAL!”
“Green Lake but sir-”
“OK THANK YOU! I’M COMING!” Gojo hangs up, quickly trying to find the hospital. However, the nurse on the other end glared into the phone when she didn’t get to explain everything to an impatient alpha. Now this alpha going to show up to a birth he missed by hours.
Gojo quickly teleported to the hospital in the morning, hoping to see the delivery of their baby.
Chapter 14: My Little Sapphire Princess
Chapter Text
When Gojo got to the hospital, he was panicking with excitement to be a dad. He couldn't wait to see his little one, wondering how the baby would look.
The nurse at the desk gave Gojo a mean stare as she told him to wait for Dr. Yu, he didn’t understand why he had to wait when his baby was about to come.
Dr.Yu explained everything from Nanami’s health to his baby’s which left Gojo with mixed feelings as he missed the birth but overall he was happy that both of them were getting the recovery they needed. His love for Nanami was still there, hurt but there, right now he needed to put his feelings aside for them.
The doctor advised him that the goal was to make sure everyone is healthy and make speedy recovery.
Gojo wanted to see Nanami immediately, however, due to the stress and delivery they had to sedate him to sleep, they needed him to rest.
He felt nervous as the nurse guided him to the NICU. He was so busy with Nanami’s affair and curses sprites that he forgot his little one in those moments. He felt like a bad father already when he should have stayed by Nanami’s side instead of pushing him away.
The moment Gojo’s eyes landed on this beautiful tiny little girl, his heart felt so much joy as a proud dad. It hurted him to see her with tubes and IVs, struggling to breathe.
Gojo’s tears started to swell up as he felt the love for this baby girl.
He couldn't believe they made this baby and brought her into the world. He felt proud.
He wanted to hold her, kiss her, protect her, spoil her and he will, daddy’s little girl. But for now, he will wait.
“Hello my little sapphire princess,” He talked softly as he held her in his hands like the nurse showed him. “You are the jewel, me and the whole clan were waiting for. You came into the world making a grand dramatic entrance that scared your mama according to Dr. Yu. I made a joke like that once with Yuji, people didn’t like it.”
She coos in small sounds which makes Gojo’s heart leap with joy.
“Daddy is sorry he missed your birth which I will be regretting for the rest of my life. I was mad with your mama about grown up stuff that I forgot that you were here too and daddy left you at the worst time. I should have been there and picked up the call too because of me you are here early.” Gojo felt regret as tears slipped. “I failed you and your mama.”
“Look at me, already trauma dumping on you, sorry princess.” He chuckles.
“I love your mama so much it hurts, you know. But, no matter what happens with mama, I will do my best to make you happy. We’ll both work together giving you a happy home.” She does a small yawn.
“Boring you, huh. Well, daddy has a lot to say, ok, you’re gonna be a good girl and listen. We both love you so much already, daddy will make sure you get the best of the best, gonna spoil you so rotten but first, I need you to get better ok, my little sapphire.” He smiled. “Then you and mama can leave the hospital, so we can go home.”
“I love you so much.” He loved how she would hold his finger.
Gojo Satoru was so happy talking to his little girl he forgot problems and the world around him because she was his world now.
Their little girl.
Chapter 15: Falling apart because of You
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
After the visit at the hospital, Gojo immediately told everyone about his little girl, the clan, Nanami’s side of the family, the students, basically everyone who crossed this path. He was very happy.
In the mid-afternoon, he went back to see his baby girl and waited for Nanami to wake up. The nurse told him beforehand that Nanami is mentally distressed due to the baby, Gojo needed to be supported. Shoko even called the hospital for an update, and then she personally yelled at him for this and made him understand he needed to think before jumping to conclusion and speaking.
He knocked on the door lightly as he waited for the answer. When he entered, his inner alpha was so proud of Nanami , that he wanted to hug and kiss him for bringing his baby into the world. But he didn’t.
He saw how exhausted Nanami was as he was laying on the bed, there was a stress scent in the room.
Nanami was nervous as more anxiety filled his brain as he saw Gojo enter the room. So, many emotions were going through him as his inner omega wanted to hug him for comfort yet his logical side knew the hurt that he felt abandoned and alone in his most vulnerable time.
He wanted to yell at Gojo for not being there for him, he was scared and alone watching them trying to save their baby. He wanted to say so much but he knew it didn't matter anymore yet he wanted the answer why didn't he even pick up the calls. He tries to hold his tears from so many emotion but they fall.
Nanami tries to calm himself for the sake of his baby, he didn’t want them to think he was unstable then they would take his baby away for all he knew.
“I..um-” Nanami tries to speak as he wiped his tears. “Sss..sorry.”
It hurted him to see his Nanami, immediately his instinct was to comfort the omega even his logical side couldn’t resist either.
He hugs Nanami tightly. “No, I’m sorry.” It’s been months since he touched Nanami, the embrace was so nice and warm, he missed it so much. His heart wanted this again. “I’m sorry I left you all alone.”
Nanami just froze as Gojo’s arms were around him. It felt different. All his thoughts were ‘why didn’t you come’ to ‘how could you not come for her’
His heart was hurting all over again.
He starts to tear up because he doesn’t know what is happening. He blames it on his body hormones, the baby hormones to the birth experiencing, stress, the old hag, maybe it was everything. But most of all, fear of losing their little girl at that moment.
“You did a beautiful job bringing her into the world, Kento.” Gojo said proudly as he hugged Nanami harder.
Gojo’s words hurt Nanami as he lost control of his emotions at this moment.
It was like everything that he held on for so long up to now, was unraveling into despair. The omega in him was whining, feeling the hurt, the confusion, the loneliness.
Gojo was speaking but his brain couldn’t understand as everything around him was a silent blurr.
Nanami was falling apart in the arms of the person who broke him.
Gojo Satoru, the man he still loved.
Notes:
Every time I think I'm going in a direction with this story, I take an unexpected route everyday. I don't like Gojo either.
Chapter 16: I need you to wait and think
Chapter Text
Gojo didn’t know what was happening with Nanami. All he said was a few words and Nanami fell apart. The omega was so distressed that the room's scent was bad, as it was warning of fear, confusion, and hurt.
The intense emotions were high as Nanami started to have short breaths with rapid breath as he cried. Gojo didn’t know what to do as he tried to comfort Nanami but it wasn’t working as he felt Nanami’s heart rate rise.
Luckily, the nurses came quickly as they saw the vitals on the montier that something was wrong. They told Gojo to leave the room as they needed to sedate Nanami, who was stressed. However, they knew it had to be alpha because his vitals were normal until they noticed when Gojo entered the room that everything changed.
He waited outside the room until the doctor was ready to informed about Nanami’s condition. Shoko managed to arrive 10 minutes after he was kicked out of the room. They both waited until the doctor came to check Nanami then explained what happened.
Gojo had explained what happened but the look Shoko and the doctor gave each other told him it was him. Once the doctor was gone Shoko turned to Gojo with a glare.
“You gave him an anxiety attack!” Shoko couldn't believe this. “An anxiety attack after he had a baby!”
“I didn’t do anything!” Gojo said with irritation. “I was nice and told him he did a great job. Why, everyone acting like I did something wrong?”
“Seriously. You told him ‘ he did a beautiful job’ when in reality he was alone, scared, probably self blaming himself for early delivery and her being in NICU and you said he did a beautiful job . Do you know how that sounds for any omega who had to watch their baby not breathing on their own, huh.”
“I was trying to be supportive.”
“Well after how you've been acting with him, who can’t take you seriously.”
“I put my feelings aside for him, ok.” Gojo felt bad when he was trying to be nice.
“Where were you by the way? I talked to the nurses, but they couldn't reach you, which seems odd for someone who has their phone most of the time.”
Gojo goes quiet as he knows he made a mistake. “I didn’t pick up,” he said in a low tone.
This shocked Shoko, she couldn't believe Gojo.
“Satoru! You knew he was getting close to 9 months, anything could’ve happened!?” Shoko was disappointed and angry. “Actually, he should have been home, nesting. Why was he all the way in this part of town visiting the clan? I don’t even know what to say!”
“I already feel guilty for missing her birth!” Gojo sighed. “I went home to talk to him but he wasn’t there. Then I checked his location, he was at an Inn for hours. He had to be with someone, why else would he be there? So, I kinda ignored him but later got busy too, so both. Anyway, it doesn't matter now.”
Shoko stared at her friend trying to process. She takes a deep breath.
“Stop assuming.” Shoko was tired. “Satoru, whatever issues you have with Nanami need to wait due to his mental state. If you still have any love for him or your baby, please be patient enough to wait for a long while till they are better. I know you will have something to say but right now isn't the time.”
“I know” Gojo knew.
“Good.” Shoko will talk to Nanami once he is better but for now she will keep progress with the doctor and share notes as he is concerned for him.
“For the record, I still love and care for him.” Gojo said. “I just can’t deal with his lying.”
Shoko didn’t respond, she was more worried for Nanami and dealing with Gojo, who’s not willing to listen, was not worth wasting energy.
Nanami was an omega who lost his mated bond, not to mention during the 3 trimester, then had early delivery due to emotional distress, and now the baby is in NICU, this was going to take a toll on Nanami’s mentally. Last thing they need is him to have a mental breakdown all because of Gojo.
Chapter 17: A Love that was once...
Chapter Text
Gojo Satoru, the man he still loved.
Nanami wasn’t sure what was happening as he fell apart in Gojo’s arms. The intense feeling of loss of hope and failure weighs in his heart. His breathing was heavy as he sobbed while feeling Gojo’s embrace after so long.
Why did Gojo say he did a beautiful job when the birth was traumatic and their baby was struggling. Was this alpha mocking him?
But, he was sincere and seemed genuine. Nanami knew he did his best for their little girl when Gojo wasn’t there, birthing all alone.
Everything felt wrong.
The inner omega in him was feeling restless as his mental state was fighting over Gojo’s words and action.
Nanami felt alone.
He wanted to yell at him yet no words came out, only the sounds of a broken omega. Gojo was talking to him but he couldn’t comprehend. The nurses were talking to him but he couldn't understand them either.
Many thoughts were going through his head so fast, he couldn’t even understand. His mind was racing, his body trembling, his heart was breaking.
Gojo Satoru, the man he still loved.
The man who broke his heart into pieces.
A love that was once whole is now…..shattering.
Those same shattering pieces cut him through words and action.
Suddenly, Nanami feels everything is slowing down, the surrounding gets quiet as his mind does too.
A love he needed to let go…
As his heart beat slows down and his mind calms.
For her
Chapter 18: Recover and Worries
Chapter Text
When Nanami woke up he was greeted by the nurse and Shoko, who were concerned. They ask him questions regarding his anxiety attack that happened with Gojo, and Gojo was the issue.
Nanami just blamed it on the stress, but they knew Gojo did play a role, so Shoko had to talk to the doctor for Nanami to get counseling until he is released.
“I’m fine, Shoko.” Nanami sitting up.
“I just want to make sure you are getting the extra care while your little one recovers too. Nanami, it has not been a full day since you gave birth. The better you recover the better you can take care of her.” Shoko needed him to be positive.
“You saw her?” Nanami said feeling tired.
“Yes, she is beautiful. I did talk to her neonatologist, her recovery is going great. Nanami, they said at the pace she is going and gaining one or two pounds, she will be able to go home in a couple of weeks. Yes, I did my own exam too.” Shoko was happy the baby was doing well but she needed Nanami to be well.
“It’s my fault, I know you’re probably wondering how-” Shoko stops him.
“It doesn’t matter even though I have a feeling it’s Satoru. But, Nanami, right now the important thing is that you and your baby recover ok.” Shoko said.
“I have guilt, Shoko. It feels wrong but…”
“I know you are going through so many changes and emotions in the last 24 hours, forget about everything else.” Shoko assured him, she was worried but needed to make sure he doesn’t fall into postpartum depression.
He just nodded. “Do you need me to handle Satoru?”
“No, its fine.” He will eventually have to talk with Gojo. “Where is he?”
“He left to talk with Yaga, he’ll be back.”
“Ok.” Nanami just wanted to be with his baby. “I think I’m well enough to go see my baby now,”
“Let me help you out,” Shoko helps Nanami off the bed.
Once Shoko leaves Nanami with the baby, she goes to Nanami’s doctor once again to make sure they keep her updated. She cares for both of them but she knows they (Higher ups and Gojo Clan) will only be asking for the child.
Chapter 19: Hello little Blessing
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
Nanami sat in the chair watching their little girl. He watched the machine feeding her through the tube, the milk he provided. This made Nanami feel good as he knew he could at least give her milk to help her grow.
Many thoughts were going through his head again but this time for her. She was his everything. His omega instinct was strong for her, the unconditional love was unbelieve.
He couldn’t believe Gojo and he made this little tiny life into the world. She was made out of love, which Nanami was grateful for. He couldn’t help but to smile.
Then he felt the room shift, there was one person he knew who could do that, Gojo.
“Hey,” Nanami wanted to keep it simple.
“How are you feeling?” Gojo remembers what the doctors and Shoko told him about Nanami.
“I’m feeling better.” Nanami is still staring at their baby. “I’m sorry about-”
“It’s ok, I should-”,” Gojo said as he went closer to their baby to hold her hand.
“Let’s not talk about that.” Nanami didn’t want to remember, well for the most part, how he fell apart, sobbing in Gojo’s arms. “I’m glad you came.”
“Of course, I want to see my little princess Sapphire,” Gojo said as he held her hand. Nanami couldn’t help but to chuckle at nickname. He slowly gets up to the other side of her, across from Gojo.
“I know we haven't discussed her name but I thought of Emiko, it means blessing and beautiful, depending on Kanji writing. We can call her Emi for short,” Nanami said as he remembered reading the names and meaning. He fell in love with this name as she was his blessing from their happiest moment to his darkest moment. A beautiful blessing.
“I love it,” Gojo smiled. “But, I want her middle name to be Sapphire.”
Nanami couldn’t help but to smile at Gojo’s choice, it was surprising. “How did you come up with that name?”
“Well, she’s our little jewel. As I kept calling her princess Sapphire, it just made sense because she’s from me.” Nanami felt happy knowing she was being loved by both even though Gojo’s one was more of his own ego.
“Hello Emiko Sapphire Gojo,” Gojo smiles at their baby as they both hold her hands. They both felt happy knowing their little girl was going to be loved no matter what happens.
Notes:
I had to research so many Japanese baby names. I learned so much but I wanted to give a meaning for Nanami when they names their baby, turns out Kanji writing can give more meanings. I was close to naming Manami because it was like Nanami's name and similar mean almost too.
Chapter 20: Welcome Home..?
Chapter Text
It took two weeks for their little one to be discharged from the hospital. Just like any new parents they had many worries and questions, the doctor reassures them both that she was healthy even though tiny, she is going to be fine. They did advise them to be careful if they chose to show her off and to take precaution, Nanami liked the recommendation of a 3 month waiting period.
Gojo had insisted on driving, however, he preferred Ijichi to drive them back safely, he saw how Gojo drives, not with his baby. Gojo was mad until Nanami explained he rather have him in the backseat with the baby and him, which helps the alpha be at ease. This way, Nanami gets to sleep for an hour as Gojo watches the baby.
When they got home, Nanami was the first to enter with their baby. However, he felt uneasy walking into their home. Gojo immediately smelled Nanami’s distress as he was carrying the baby stuff. His instinct was to protect them.
Nanami immediately felt scared as he walked back to Gojo holding their baby. “I..I..I think curses.” He didn’t want to be in a house if their enemies knew where they lived. Gojo immediately went in, then it hit him. It was Gojo’s mess, he broke the stuff in their living room, then forgot about it as he was staying at the Clan house as it was near the hospital.
“We can’t stay here.” Nanami feeling uneasy.
“So, funny story, this is my mess,” Gojo said awkwardly. “But good news, no curses.”
“I don’t understand, why trash our… home” Nanami said as he felt hurt because knew the answers. “I left it clean for her, so we came home to a clean and ready house.”
“Sorry, it was an unexpected moment of anger.” Gojo felt the air shift.
“By trashing our home,” Nanami said as he held the baby closer to him.
“I said I’m sorry, not my fault you went off to an INN for hours.” Gojo was irritated.
“Excuse me,” Nanami said, getting angry at Gojo’s accusation. “What’s that supposed to mean?” He felt his baby starting to move as she woke.
“You know ,” Gojo shot back.
“Not this again!” Nanami slowly cradles their baby as she starts to cry.
“See what you've done!”
“You’re getting loud too.”
“How about we talk about this later.” Gojo said realizing this was not the time, Nanami agreed. “I can get the maid-”
“NO!” Nanami felt irritated and defensive, he didn’t want anyone else in their home. “I don’t want cleaners or anyone in our home but us. I don’t trust anyone to be in our home with their germs or colds or whatever they might have, I don’t want them to compromise her immune system. If you can't, I will clean it later.”
“Sorry, I understand.” Gojo couldn’t be mad at that because Nanami was right about their little one. “I’ll clean it. You just settle in with her.”
Rest of the evening, they both forgot about the fight earlier as their focus was their baby. It was 8 pm when he decided to go to bed. Nanami decided he will be keeping the baby in his nest (with baby lounger) in the first few months as he wants to keep track of her sleeping and breathing, and easy feeding.
“What are you doing?” Nanami said as Gojo came with his pillow into the nest as he settled in next to her.
“Sleeping with my baby.” Gojo lay next to her as he watched them sleep. Nanami wanted to yell at him and tell him he wasn’t welcome but he was tired and this was a long day for all of them.
“Whatever, just don’t roll over my baby with your giant ass.” Nanami glared, well tried. He lays on the other side of the baby. At the same time Nanami was happy he wasn’t alone right now for their baby. “Do you want to take the first shift for feeding and changing or after?”
“I can do the first shift.” Gojo said as he held her hand.
“Ok,” Nanami said as he slowly closed his eyes.
There was silence for a few minutes until Gojo spoke. “Did you wanna talk about….” He stopped talking once he heard Nanami’s snoring lightly. He must have been tired after the long day even helping Gojo clean after he put the baby down in her crib.
He guesses they will have to wait another time to talk.
Chapter 21: First Night Cries
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
Their first night as parents was overwhelming when they both started to panic during the night at one point when she wouldn’t stop crying for 20 minutes.
“What’s wrong my little princess,” Gojo swayed her gently in his arms as Nanami tried to find what could be upsetting her. They had changed, burped and fed her, so what was wrong.
“Ok, ok, let’s try breastfeeding instead of bottle then,” Nanami sits down in his nest, as Gojo hands her to him. He watches Nanami closely as he feeds the baby. “Can you not stare?”
“Sorry, they're so plumpy!” Gojo blurted out. Nanami immediately got a blanket to cover from Gojo’s stares.
“You’re a gross idiot,” Nanami said. After a few minutes she started to cry more which caused Nanami’s inner omega to panic because he couldn’t help their baby. She wasn’t latching on either. He was starting to feel like a failure. “I..I don’t know.”
Gojo sees the worried face on Nanami as he tries to calm her. “Pass her to me.” Gojo tries a trick he read in a book, he gently holds her in one hand as he rubs her back gently in a motion. After a couple of minutes, she projectile a good amount of vomit down his arm and the nest.
“Damn little mama,” Gojo chuckled as she just looked at him as she stopped crying. “You feel better don’t you.”
“I’ll clean this up if you wanna take her to her room and change her.” Nanami was relieved when Gojo’s trick helped her.
“She has a room?” Gojo was surprised by this.
“Yeah across the master room.”
“Ok, that’s fine. Let’s go princess and get you changed.” Gojo smiled at this little girl.
After the cleaning up, they once again laid in the nest, trying to rest.
“Thank you.” Nanami said, looking at the ceiling. “You kept calm and your technique worked.”
“It was nothing, just ready baby books.” Gojo smiled. “We both got this.”
“Hmm” Nanami didn’t feel like he did.
“Don’t overthink it. We got this for her,” Gojo turns to Nanami.
“Thanks,” Nanami needed that reassurance because he was scared as a new parent. He was glad they both were trying for their little one.
Notes:
I will be slowing down a bit. Also I think it will be slow burn too.
Chapter 22: Beginning of Co-Parenting
Chapter Text
Next Morning, Nanami woke up late in the afternoon, he was alone in his nest. He washed up then later he was met with Gojo, who was already downstairs with Emi, playing.
“Look at Mama waking up late due to your crying,” Gojo held the baby in his arms as he chuckled. “I made some coffee and breakfast for you.”
“Thank you,” Nanami appreciated the gesture as he sat down to have breakfast. He watched Gojo play with their daughter, it made him feel happy to know that Gojo was there for Emiko. They played for a bit then she fell asleep in his arms, this melted Gojo’s heart.
He put her down in the bassinet then sat next to her watching her and taking lots of pictures. Nanami joins him in the living, it was awkward silence until Gojo spoke.
“I loved what you did with her room but I thought we’re going to wait to do it together.” Gojo said as he looked at Nanami. “After she was born.”
Nanami takes a moment to collect his thoughts before he says something snappy. “I had to keep busy, so I got a head start plus you were involved.”
“How was I involved?” Gojo looking.
“You paid for everything.” Nanami smirked, he made sure he brought the expensive and the best things during that time, which did help him.
“Well, it's not the same. Wish you would have asked, I would have helped you.” Gojo sighs.
“Oh, like you would have picked up.” Nanami remembers how Gojo left him and ignored him. “It doesn’t matter anymore.”
“It does to me. Can’t believe you found out her gender without me too” Gojo was hurt.
“Oh, please if you actually cared you would have stayed during the pregnancy.” Nanami was mad. “For the record, I hired a decorator for her room and gave her the envelope, so it would be ready.” Nanami said but he felt robbed too. “I actually found out the gender from your dad.”
“My dad?” Gojo was confused.
“Turns out the whole clan knew but us.” Nanami was hurting too.
“Oh please, they wouldn't know that, they just wanted to know it's a healthy baby.” Gojo said with a hint of anger. “We both know why I didn’t wanna be around.”
That one subject they needed to talk about but didn’t want to bring it up.
“Oh please, I didn’t do anything wrong.” Nanami stated.
“Wow, the lying continues,” Gojo was mad. “Tell the truth.”
“It was your Nana and probably the majority of the clan!” Nanami yelled. They both were yelling, not realizing their little one was stirring up from her nap.
“Wow, blaming an old lady.” Gojo sarcastically said. “You are crazy that you are lying about my nana. Take some responsibility!”
“Nana is the crazy one!” Nanami said. “As for responsibility, you’re one to talk! Mr.Dad, who came back after she was born!”
“Not my fault you made me miss my daughter's birth because you were being a whore at an INN!”
“I CALLED YOU!” Nanami had tears in his eyes. Their daughter started to cry because of their yelling.
“See what you done,” Gojo picked her up in his arms. “I can handle one baby at a time.”
“Fuck you.” Nanami said in anger. He decided to walk away to calm himself as Gojo comforted Emi.
After an hour, they both realized they can’t argue in front of the baby. In a mutual agreement they were done with each other but will be civil for her.
“Moving forward, we are no longer on this topic as it causes issues.” Nanami said.
“Sure.” Gojo just agreed to agree.
This was going to be a long co-parenting both thought to themselves.
Chapter 23: Celebration of our Baby from the Clan
Chapter Text
It’s been one week since the arrival of Emi in the house, things have shifted since the first day at home between them. They did their best to be civil which resulted in speaking only related to Emi because when they try to have regular conversation it ends poorly. Gojo would say a snarky comment, then Nanami would get mad then cry or curse or both. It was best to just focus on their baby.
During the night, they all shared a space in the nest, well more like Gojo invited himself to be there for Emi. Nanami was fine with this, it helps him rest at night knowing Gojo looks after her.
“You smell so good, princess.” Gojo loves the baby smell, everytime he smells her, Emi has that fresh baby scent. He gave kisses to his baby as he was holding her. “You, my little princess!”
“I have an extra milk pump in the fridge, should last you a whole night.” Nanami said as he got ready for sleep.
“Ok, thanks.” Gojo said as he just held their baby in his arms. “Oh, by the way, once her 3 months are over, the clan will be having a grand party for Emiko. My little princess Sapphire will be celebrated!” Gojo started using his baby voice every time he talked to their daughter.
“What? When was this decided?” Nanami turns to look at Gojo. This surprised him because that would mean she would get lost of exposure to their extended family.
“It was going to happen regardless. We are celebrating Emiko, people have been waiting for since her announcement.” Gojo smiles at their baby. “Why wait any longer? I thought you would be happy to celebrate. Plus our families want to see her.”
“I understand that but that's a lot of people, Satoru. Can’t we do a small one with our immediate family, I feel more comfortable with that.” Nanami didn’t like this. He knows his side of the family was happy with Emiko but as for the clan, Nanami didn’t feel comfortable with having their baby with them.
“Well, I want to have a grand celebration for Emiko, she is a Gojo .” Gojo wants to celebrate her life and her welcoming to the family. He will be going big for her. “Don’t worry, we’ll have her doctor approve too before she goes out celebrating.”
“I’m her parent too and I get a say. I don’t like this.”
“Well I’m her parent too. So, we’re both stuck there.” Gojo looking at their daughter. “Why don’t you want to? I thought you would be happy. She deserves a grand party.”
Nanami was silent for a moment before he replied.
“The clan,” Nanami takes a moment. “I know the clan has…high expectations and tradition.”
“Yeah but those dont’ really matter, well some” Gojo looks at Nanami, who seems to have more to say. “But, what are you really trying to say, Kento? About the clan?”
“I don’t trust the clan nor some of your family around Emi. Your parents are fine, I like them. I know you guys have expectations, values, traditions but I feel like they should have been more open minded with time. Because if they are bothered by her being a girl, I can’t trust them. Especially how they treated me while pregnant with her,” Nanami hoped Gojo understood where this was coming from.
“Excuse me.” Gojo couldn’t believe what Nanami was saying about the clan. He calmed himself as he was holding Emi in his arms, takes a deep breath.
“And that includes your Nana.”
“That’s not true. She is my heir regardless of her gender. The clan knows this, they all have been waiting, including my Nana, as she is the future.”
Nanami was a bit hurt by Gojo, choosing to believe his family instead of his concern for their baby.
“That same night I went into labor because of your Nana’s issues with her being a girl. We had an argument, and it turns out the majority was disappointed by a baby girl as an heir too.”
Gojo stays silent for a moment. “This has upset me but I don’t want to argue. Emiko is the heir. As for the clan, I know some can be close minded but her being introduced with celebration should change their mind, she is too cute. As for my Nana, kind of disappointed that you would paint my sweet Nana as bad, she is a woman too, Kento. They would never put her in danger.”
“But they did that night when I went into labor,” Nanami didn’t understand Gojo.
“That’s your fault. You should've been home, nesting” Gojo was irritated. “ You put Emiko in danger. Not my family because you drove to them.”
Nanami was shocked by Gojo’s words. Those words stung his heart, he knew that night was his fault, his mind would reply from time to time. He was trying to move past that as the counselor told him but Gojo’s words cut him so deep, the memories and the feeling of that night came back flooding in his mind.
“Oh,” Nanami went numb as his mind replayed those memories and Gojo’s words. “Ok, ok.”
“We’ll talk later because someone needs a diaper change,” Gojo took Emi to get her changed. Nanami just laid there into the memoires, realizing maybe it was his fault.
Chapter 24: I'm tired
Chapter Text
It’s been a few days since that night, Nanami has distanced himself from Gojo. Everytime Gojo is with Emi, Nanami would leave the room, giving them space while he would go do chores or rest, well try to.
His mind was going through a loop of thoughts of that night, blaming himself then blaming Gojo, back and forth. Now, he was mentally tired. As a sorcerer, he knew his thought process and goals with confidence but now, it’s like he feels different and questions himself. Maybe because he’s a new parent and his body’s hormones are still settling. He sat there wondering if maybe he needed an outside perspective of this since this was bothering him so much.
Cries broke his thoughts as Gojo comes with Emi in his arms. “She is not drinking the formula and I don’t want her to be hungry. Would you be able to feed her?”
“Sure,” Nanami sat on the couch to get comfortable as he got ready to feed her. “It’s fine, we’ll try again later with the formula.”
“Can you stop staring,” Nanami hated when Gojo would stare at him.
They sat there in silence until Gojo spoke. “Are you ok?” Nanami just stared at Gojo, wondering why he was asking that. Then his second thought was ‘no because of you’ but he just chose to answer simply.
“Yeah, just tired.”
“I still need you to be well for Emi,” Gojo said he was worried for Nanami but he couldn’t say the words ‘we need you to be well’.
“Good to know but I’m fine.” Nanami sighed, he didn’t want to speak to Gojo unless he needed to, there was no point of small talk between them.
“Ok,” Once again the awkward silence.
“So, what do you want for lunch?” Gojo asked.
“I’m not hungry, thank you,” Nanami wasn’t hungry nor did he want to be near Gojo.
“You sure, You only ate a piece of bread this morning.” Gojo is a bit concerned for Nanami.
Nanami just stared at Gojo for a second wondering how he picked up observation with the bread but not with the so-called affair, the six eye was stupid. “I’m just tired, ok.”
Nanami just needs to take a step back from Gojo but it will be hard since they have a child together.

Chapter 25: Crying Nights
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
It has been 3 weeks with their baby, now the nights are filled with her cries with colic. When they first experienced the non-stop crying after they fed, changed, bathed her, anything to help her, she wouldn't stop crying for hours, which led them in a panic, rushing to the hospital at 4 in the morning.
The doctor reassured them she was healthy but was experiencing colic, something that is normal for babies. The best they can do is be patient while trying to comfort her as much as they can.
“I know honey, you are in pain, it hurts us knowing we can’t take your pain away,” Gojo gently cradles her in his arms. She cried for over an hour once again, both him and Nanami were tired and sleepless.
“Hey, I found something online that can help,” Nanami said after spending time online from baby health sites to parents blogs and mama groups about colic relief.
“Let’s try anything at this point,” Gojo was surprised how loud and fussy she got as each night went on. One of the methods that helped was the late night walk in her stroller, something Gojo would do but tonight it's raining outside to go on walk. They did try to use the stroller indoors but it was a failure, somehow she knew they were indoor. “What is it?”
“Soothing sounds while rubbing her back,” Nanami said. “This time with purring.”
“I guess it's better than nothing,” Gojo said exhaustedly. “I guess you’ll be doing this.”
“What?” Nanami was a bit irritated by Gojo's statement but he proceeded to walk toward him to get the baby. “I would do anything for Emi.”
“Omegas are masters at purring than alphas, so it would make sense you would do this.” Gojo said as he handed Emi to Nanami. This irritated Nanami a bit, him being omega doesn’t mean the alpha should assume he would do all the work.
“You know how to purr too,” Nanami rolled his eyes.
“Yeah but not like omegas do,” Gojo said as he watched Nanami with Emi. “I meant it as a compliment.” He wanted to reply to Gojo’s remark but chose to focus on Emi’s cries.
Nanami takes Emi to the nest as he lays down then places her on his chest as he begins to purr while rubbing her back. It works as her crying screams become softer cries. However, he was struggling a bit to purr consistently, after 10 minutes. This causes the baby to be upset.
“Kento, what’s wrong?” Gojo asks, seeing how Emi was crying again. He watches Nanami struggle to purr, which was odd to him because was good at it.
“I don’t know,” Nanami was starting to worry because this should have been easy. Emi started to cry louder again.
“Relax and purr,” Gojo advised. “Let it come to you as an omega instinct.”
This pissed off Nanami as he was trying to purr while holding his crying baby. “Don’t you think I am!” Gojo didn’t say anything but gave a look. “What”
“I didn’t say anything,” Gojo replied.
“Your face did,” Nanami rubbed Emi’s back. “Say it,” Nanami glared.
“Fine! As omega, you are not doing great at purring when you used to do it before, I was wondering shouldn’t this be natural instinct with their babies, though. If you are stressed, then you need to relax.”
“It’s not easy to relax now,” Nanami snapped.
“I’m trying to help you,” Gojo replied. They both were tired and sleep deprived, Gojo was trying to keep calm for Emi.
“Well, your staring ain't helping! Just give me a few minutes alone time,” Nanami asked because Gojo was making him nervous by his staring. Gojo doesn’t argue as he leaves the room to give Nanami space.
After 30 minutes Gojo came back to check on them since the crying hadn't stopped. Nanami was distressed from the scent in the room, this worried him.
“Hey, let me try,” Gojo approaches the nest. “While you take a break.”
“You think I can’t” Nanami was frustrated.
“I think you need a break, Kento” Gojo said, trying to be calm. “Look, we're both tired, let's just keep it together for Emiko, we have to be a team to take care of her.”
Nanami sighs in defeat. Gojo was right, they do need to be a team in this and take breaks. He hands the baby to Gojo.
“Come on my little princess,” Gojo lays her on his chest. He takes a deep breath and slowly starts to purr and rub her back. Nanami just watches in silence, wondering if Gojo can calm her. It took him 20 minutes to calm her when she finally slept. They both looked at each other in relief.
“Thank you,” Nanami sighs as he lays down, closing his eyes. “For taking over.”
“I should be thanking you for finding this solution,” Gojo said as he kept purring.
“You were right, as omega, purring should’ve been instinct but I was struggling.” Nanami felt disappointed in himself.
“I didn’t mean it like that,” Gojo looks at Nanami with an apologetic look. “I was surprised because all the baby books said it would come naturally, maybe you are tired Kento.”
“We both have been doing the same thing but why am I struggling? What are you doing to purr that I can't?”
“I just did what any book said, look at your baby with love and let it flow,” Gojo smiled at Emi.
Nanami glared at Gojo. “So, you’re saying I don’t have love for my baby to purr enough, huh?”
“Maybe.” Nanami didn’t reply as he just stared at the stupid alpha feeling jealous and angry for not being able to purr. He badly wanted to argue about loving their baby more but this was not the time for it.
“I’m joking, geez” Gojo rolled his eyes. “You seem stressed and off lately, maybe that’s what's causing it.”
Nanami doesn’t say anything once again because Gojo was right. And that stress was from Gojo. They have not been arguing though but that was mostly because Nanami would avoid him in the house. However, there would be smart-ass comments from Gojo or him from time to time but they both would fake smile it off. As time went on, a feeling in Nanami was growing but the question was what. He wished he had a moment to talk to Shoko for a while but since Emiko’s colic and crying, he focused on her, disregarding everything else.
“Yeah, stress indeed,” Nanami said as he lay on his side of the nest, feeling a bit hurt not being able to comfort their child.
Notes:
Sorry, I just need to take care of me but now doing well, Shibuya arc hit WAY HARDER than I expected, my beautiful Nanami.

Chapter Text
It’s been 5 weeks since the arrival of the Emiko in their home, everything was going smoothly as would with any new baby. They did a good job so far taking care of her and keeping the peace. They got the habit of waking up in the middle of the night, Nanami started taking early shifts then Gojo would take the second since he’s up at dawn.
It was until Gojo had to go back to work after week six, which Nanami understood because he was after all he was the strongest sorcerer. Nanami had mixed feelings about him going back, part of him was glad because he gets a break from Gojo and the other part was worried about being able to take care of Emi by himself.
“I will be coming home in two days, I will try to come earlier if possible.” Gojo didn’t want to go either as his instinct was to be near and protect his baby and omega. “I wish I didn’t have to go.”
“It’s fine. You're protecting the world she’s going to grow up in,” Nanami said with reassurance.
“Yeah but I'd rather be here,” Gojo said, holding their little one. “You are such a cutie patootie! Gonna miss you so much!”
He gave her so many kisses before he left and waved goodbye to Nanami as he left.
“We’re going to be fine,” Nanami said as he picked her up to change her diaper. “Someone dropped a bomb.”
As she slept Nanami used that time to clean and do laundry since the baby was going through a lot of clothing due to pooping, burping, spitting up or random spills.
After a few hours, his little one woke up with a cry.
“You just wanted to be held,” Nanami sat down on the sofa with her in his arms. He couldn’t help but to smile at Emiko, she was indeed their joy.
“Emi, how could you betray me? We were in this together but you came out looking like your daddy,” Nanami teases as he gives her kisses. She has Gojo’s eyes but they aren't as bright as six eyes.
“Probably because I spent the whole pregnancy thinking and talking about your daddy,” However, she managed to give the little angry faces before she got fussy. “Well, at least you got my glare.”
Nanami was happy that their little one was healthy and was screaming her lungs off because it put him at ease. Here are a few times Nanami gets worried at night, a fear, wondering if her breathing is normal due to her early birth. This is something he kept to himself.
Because he blamed himself.

I'm working on it little by little, I know its slow burning yall and me too, lol. I'm building up to something...so be patient. ;-)
Chapter 27: The hate I feel for You
Chapter Text
Those two days turned into a week with Emiko were hard on Nanami. Gojo got pulled into a mess of curses in Kyoto, leaving Nanami alone. He spent those days awake, barely sleeping because he was scared that she would stop breathing. The first night was fine until she cried so hard that she was red, which was normal, however that scared Nanami. He felt like he needed to watch over her as she slept.
“I’m back,” Gojo enters the house feeling happy to be back with their little one. “And I got a present for my little princess!”
“I’m in the living room,” Nanami answered back. When Gojo saw Nanami, it seemed like he had heavy dark circles and no sleep. “Whoa, are you ok, Kento? Looks like you didn’t sleep.”
“I’m fine,” Nanami answered as he was on the floor playing with Emi. “What’s with the bunch of bags?”
“I went shopping while on the mission and found these little Kimonos and outfits for her!” Gojo showing off all the gifts for Emi. “Our baby is so cute!”
“This is a bit much, Satoru,” Nanami looked at the adorable outfits.
“Nothing but the best for My little princess Sapphire!” Gojo smiled at Emi as he picked her up but his smile dropped when he noticed a device on her foot. “What’s this on her foot!? Did she break her foot!? Kento!?”
“She’s fine. It’s a baby vital monitor. It helps keep us alert if her breathing or other issues arises,” Nanami stated.
“Did something happen while I was away!?” Gojo looks at Nanami with concerns.
“No, I just wanted to be extra careful and keep track.”
“Bit overboard don’t you think?” Gojo's thoughts were on how overprotective Nanami got over Emi for the past few weeks.
Nanami glared. “No. She was born early, so it's better to be cautious. I don’t understand why you don’t take my concerns seriously, it's for our baby.”
“I do but you seem..” Gojo was trying to find the right words without sounding like a jerk to Nananmi. “Overbearing.”
Nanami doesn’t know if it was the lack of sleep or Gojo’s dis-concern for their daughter or both but this statement made him angry. “I may be overbearing because I gotta make up for it since her dad doesn't seem to take anything serious concerning her health!”
“I do care,” Gojo tried not to get angry by Nanami’s words. “ And She is a healthy baby!”
“Thanks to me!” Nanami was mad.
“Oh my god, Kento! Why do you keep thinking the worst when she is a healthy baby now.” Gojo snapped.
“BECAUSE I SAW HER AT HER WORST!” Nanami yelled, he didn’t mean to yell but it just came out as Gojo didn’t understand him. The inner omega in him was raging because this alpha failed in his eyes, alpha are supposed to take care of their pup in every way. “WHEN YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE FOR US BUT AS ALPHA, YOU FAILED US!”
Nanami didn’t realize he was tearing up, trembling, and breathing heavily at the same time as he spoke. Most of all he didn’t realize how much he hated Gojo for failing him. The omega scent in the room was distress and anger.
Gojo was speechless as he watched Nanami’s emotions go from calm to frustration. He didn’t understand where this was coming from when he just got home after a week long mission and curse fighting. He just wanted to be home with his family …well with Emi.
“Kento…” Gojo didn’t know how to engage because he wasn’t sure if it was the best idea to argue again with Emi in his arms nor she can have two of her parents both having screaming matches. “Emi is here, you don’t want to do anything crazy,” Gojo’s scent was giving off a warning to Omega to submit.
Nanami wanted to scream at him for using Emi to calm him and trying to make him submit at the same time. Gojo was making him feel like he was the crazy one.
They just stare in silence.
Until Emi did her hungry cry which got both of them to look at her. Nanami was the first to speak. “There is extra milk in the fridge, also formula in the kitchen cabinet.” Nanami started to walk toward the door, grabbing the keys. Knowing Gojo was capable of taking care of her.
“Kento, where are -”
“I’m getting diapers, will be back later,” Nanami said as he rushed out the door. He needed to breathe away from Gojo. He needed to speak with Shoko or anyone that can help him understand this feeling inside that has been brewing for a while.
Nanami thoughts were saying one thing over and over…
I hate Satoru

Chapter Text
The minute Nanami left the house, he went to the nearest place to park the car and scream. The frustration, the rage, the hurt, everything was coming out with his yelling as he shed tears. Gojo was the worst, making him feel crazy when he was trying to be a good parent.
He takes deep breaths to calm himself as much as possible. He doesn’t know how long he sat in the car as his mind wondered. Once he felt collected he called Shoko. She had asked him to come meet her at Jujutsu or a cafe but he refused as he didn’t want to see anyone nor be seen but he finally agreed to meet in a small quiet cafe.
When Shoko walked to the private booth, she was shocked by Nanami. He looked tired as his eyes were red from crying, sleep deprived and lost weight. This was concerning for her.
“Is this the first time you left the house since birth?” Shoko was worried as Nanami nodded yes.
“Yes, I just…” He felt ashamed because he was usually collected and solving his own problem but now, it's like he lost himself since the pregnancy and his broken bond from his alpha.
“Say no more,’ Shoko takes a seat across from him.
They talked for hours, Shoko was there as a friend but also as a doctor as she listened and watched Nanami. She knew Nanami went through many struggles before and during the birth, she just needed to see if he was facing other issues as a new parent, especially co-parenting with Gojo.
“I just want Satoru to understand and take her health seriously. He’s a good dad, takes care of her but doesn’t take precaution about other baby issues that can happen. It just frustrates me that he makes it easy taking care of Emi while I’m struggling.” Nanami sighs.
“Struggling with?” Shoko was worried.
“I can’t purr to comfort my baby, Shoko, I tried for weeks,” Nanami felt ashamed. “When we take turns watching her, I feel like anything can happen, so I carry on with me all the time even if she is sleeping, yet Satoru always has a smile on his face when it's his turn, all the damn time. I feel like I’m on the edge while I am taking care of her. I should be happy that Sato is calm and collected but I feel resentment and hate at the same time toward him. Worst part is his making me crazy! Am I crazy, Shoko?” Nanami wasn’t sure if it was his body since it was still going through many changes that was setting off his feelings with Gojo.
“Nanami, you are omega, who is protecting their baby. I know I’m not a parent but I know you are doing a great job.” Shoko needed to reassure him.
“Then why do I feel like I’m failing..” Nanami thinking of Gojo words. “Can’t control my emotions with Gojo, sometimes it just happens and I don’t want this environment for Emi.”
“You’re not failing. You are overwhelmed, Nanami.” Shoko pointed out. “You had an idiot alpha, who put you through stress during your pregnancy, post birth, and idiot himself, you haven’t had the chance to rest mentally and physically since birth either. Your body is still adjusting to the changes in hormones and still healing. The emotions you feel are normal. Beta women and Omegas will have an emotion of anger toward their partner sometimes after the birth because of the changes that are happening around them and their body while taking care of their infant. Plus, during those times you are going to need support from your partner.” Shoko was trying to ease Nanami, she realized his problem was serious but she wasn’t going to worry him even more by telling him now til she talks to Gojo and Nanami’s personal doctor. “Your baby daddy is just stupid.”
Nanami chuckled at Shoko’s statement about Gojo. He felt a bit better knowing he wasn’t crazy but he still felt anxious.
“Nanami, I’ll talk to Satoru.” Shoko spoke up. “However, you need to tell me if he’s causing you stress or picking fights with you. As your friend I’m worried for you.”
Nanami just stares at his tea that he barely touched.
“I’m being serious, Satoru may be a good dad but that doesn't excuse him for his shitty behavior with you Nanami. Communication is key to any relationship even with co-parenting.”
Nanami cutting off Shoko. “I know. He makes me angry and I don't want him near me yet I need him to help with Emi.” He didn’t want to say it out loud that he was scared of raising her alone, especially thinking about her health. “I’m sorry for dragging you into our relationship issues.”
There was this feeling again as he couldn’t solve this. His thoughts were all over the place, Shoko might think he’s crazy if he complained about Gojo yet tolerated his behavior, when she knew the old him would kick the alpha’s ass to the curb. Even though Gojo was the problem, he was also the only one Nanami trusted with Emi.
“Nanami, there’s nothing to be sorry-”
“Shoko, I don’t want to talk about this anymore.” Nanami started to feel foolish when he came to get advice, only for it to be communication, something he always believed in too. Maybe he should sleep more to think clearly. He feels lost. “I should go, Shoko. Thank you.” He was shutting her and everyone else out.
As she watches Nanami leave, she knew there was a chance Nanami might experience this after the traumatic birth and broken bond. But now her answers were confirmed, Nanami has both postpartum depression and anxiety.
Notes:
Nanami thoughts and emotions will be all over the place because he's stress.
Fact: Did yall know you can have both anxiety and depression postpartum after having a baby.

Chapter Text
Gojo has received a quick call from Shoko, giving him an update on Nanami’s health and telling him to behave until they can discuss this tomorrow.
When Nanami arrived at home, he didn’t say much, only asking if Gojo could watch her as he rested for a bit. Gojo was about to make a comment about the diaper run but held his tongue as he remembered what Shoko told him.
He didn’t understand how Nanami was having a hard time with Emi. As much as he wanted answers, it was probably best to stay quiet until he could speak with Shoko about the Nanami’s new behavior.
*
Next day Gojo showed up to her office, wanting to learn why Nanami ran off to Shoko. After an hour, Shoko explained in detail for Gojo to understand about Nanami's health and postpartum.
“You didn’t see this Kento! He was all crazy!” Gojo explained.
“Stop saying he is crazy. He is a stressed omega and I see why.” Shoko gave a look of disapproval to Gojo.
“You think it’s my fault for his paranoid behavior?” He is annoyed by Shoko, always siding with Nanami. “I tried to be supportive.”
“Something tells me your version of support is stressing him.” Shoko sighed. “How about we approach this from his perspective, so you can understand. Remember, this isn't about you but him healing.”
“So, what can we do to help?” Gojo asked because this worried him even though this situation was new to him. Shoko was happy to hear he was willing to help Nanami. Well until he asked. “He's not gonna hurt Emi, is he? If so, should I just take her away from him now?”
Shoko was furious at this question. She explained Nanami's condition and Gojo just assumed his own stupid conclusion.
“SATORU!” Shoko rubbed her temple. “Didn't you hear anything I said!?”
“I did, Kento is unstable. Just need to know if Emi is in safe hands.”
“Oh my!” Shoko was shocked by Gojo's suggestion. “That's not what I said.”
“But google said it can get dangerous for-”
“Satoru! I'M THE DOCTOR!” Shoko couldn't believe her friend. “Google might give you the basic information but there are different levels and causes for postpartum. And taking away the baby from him will destroy him or any omega.” Shoko had to take a deep breath.
“Look, I get you are trying to help Kento, which I am grateful for, BUT , Emi is my priority now.” Gojo said, sighing, he wanted to help Nanami but Emi was his main focus.
“If she is your priority then you should understand she needs him too.” Shoko wonders how a loving relationship turned so toxic. “Nanami went through a traumatic birth, him being overprotective of Emi is the result of that, and picking a fight with him is not helping either.”
“Well, I wish he would talk to me,” Gojo whined.
“He has been talking to you since the beginning but you haven't been willing to listen to him. Satoru, I understand that you are hurt but you haven't tried to move past your ego to listen. Nanami has told everyone you've been a good dad to Emi and the only one he trusts to take care of her, however, you haven't been supportive toward him as a partner in any department.”
There was a small guilt for Gojo.
“If you have any love for him, then work with me to help him, or at least for Emi.” Shoko said with some hope for her friend.
“I understand.” Gojo has mixed feelings about Nanami but Shoko was right.
“Do you?” Shoko said with sarcasm. “Because we've been having a conversation to do better yet every time you make the situation worse.”
“Yeah” Gojo replied easily
“Do you really?” Shoko was staring at her friend.
“I do! Especially now that I’m a dad.” Gojo understood but he didn’t like how Shoko was making him the bad guy.
“This is a serious matter,” She needed him to understand the gravity of this situation.
“I know,” Gojo huffed.
“Good, because I feel like Nanami is struggling more than he is telling us. He will need a good support system, this includes you too. These things take a long time to recover depending on the severity of this.” Shoko said in a serious tone.
“I get it Shoko!”
“The minute you feel like an argument is about to start, I need you to walk away before it escalates. I need Nanami to feel safe.”
“Why do I have to be the one to walk away?” Gojo felt like his feelings weren’t being heard. “He’s the one being all emotional.”
“Because idiot, you are more likely to be in control of your emotions. Well, usually you do but not with Nanami lately. Knowing you as a friend, you say the dumbest things, so if you can’t say anything nice, walk away or call me. Nanami is going through a lot of emotions and anxiety. We need him to feel safe and heard.”
Shoko just needed Gojo to be patient with Nanami, and hoped her friend understood the severity of the situation.
“You know, getting therapy for you is good too. It will help you navigate your feeling with Nanami and -”
“I am good, thanks.” Gojo made a face of confusion for a second, it was Nanami with the issues. He teleported out of there once Shoko wanted him to work on himself to sort out this relationship with Nanami. What a joke he thought, they were the parents of Emiko, that is their status now. But part of him hoped Nanami would just admit the cheating, then maybe he can move past this.
A maybe.
Notes:
I'm sorry for the late updated. I didn't realized when I was writing Nanami's depression and anxiety, I was heading into my own, not realizing the signs. Don't worry, I am ok but I am trying for you all mostly and for me. These stuff turns into physical issues and takes time to heal. So, if anyone is going through it, you are not alone and please talk to someone.
As my friend told me "Be kind to yourself," So, everyone, love yourself!
Chapter 30: What about my Family? It's about support!
Chapter Text
Shoko had spent a few days planning Nanami’s recovery for his postpartum. She had to find another physician that was more in the field for postpartum for omegas to help her. She knew Nanami was an independent omega, her offering help to him or mentioning postpartum was not going to be easy. Once she was ready with her plan, it was time for Gojo to do the work.
In the beginning, everything was going smooth for a week until they got into another argument because Nanami didn’t want outside help for him nor Emi, especially no nannies or Gojo’s family, this caused tension as Gojo felt offended. Shoko had to step in as mediator as she had to pull her friend to the side.
“What’s wrong with my family!?” Gojo huffed.
“Everything,” Nanami said calmly as he held Emi in his arms, cradling her. “And use your inside voice.”
“Agreed,” Shoko casually replied as she took a seat in the middle of the living room as both of them were facing each other.
“Hey!” Gojo glared at her.
“What. He’s not wrong.” Shoko said as she poured herself wine. “Your family are grade A-Holes, thinking they are better than everyone else.”
“We just have pride,” Gojo said casually.
“Agree to disagree.” Shoko rolled her eyes. She knows her friend won’t back down easily, it was better stop here before they wasted time. “How about you listen to Nanami's reasons.”
“Thank you Shoko.” Nanami turns to face Gojo. “I don’t feel comfortable with your family watching Emi, alone. Nor anyone else, I don’t care if they are the best nannies in the world either. Your parents are fine, however, it's the people around them. Maybe over time but till then I just want to be safe.”
“Excuse me.” Gojo trying to keep his cool.
“They were already upset because she is a girl, people with old traditional ideas don’t change overnight. I don’t doubt your love for our daughter but it's the lack of awareness you have around your family with her. Or Nana.
Gojo was silent. He knew if he opened his mouth, he would say something snappy. He felt it was unfair that Nanami was not trusting his family.
“Nanami is just following his instinct to protect Emi, especially being a new parent.” Shoko had to remind her friend that this was normal. She had given him a quick look that meant ‘I will beat you if you open your mouth to say something stupid’. She was glad he understood.
“I understand.” Gojo replied with a fake smile. They all knew it was fake but decided it was not worth the bickering.
“Omegas trust their alpha’s to watch their pups as they rest, however, we know Satoru, you are needed as the strongest sorcerer on the field. So, when you are working out of town for over a few days or weeks, Nanami’s mom will help him or any omega family member,” Shoko said but she notices the face Gojo made. “That Nanami trusts.”
“How come his family-” Gojo was cut immediately by Shoko.
“Because omegas are way more precautious and overprotect of their offsprings. It’s better to have Nanami pick someone he trusts, also not stress him while he is trying to rest and heal.” Shoko was trying to hint to Gojo why they were doing this in the first place. She knows it better to have someone Nanami trusts to help him during postpartum. This will be a long journey of healing, knowing Gojo or his family, they would delay the healing or make it worse. “And we want a good stress free environment for Emi, right?” Shoko glared at Gojo.
“For Emi and us as a family .” Gojo said as he looked at his baby girl, he could at least try for her. His baby girl deserves the best. “Hey Kento, once you're back to your old self, like fully rested and stuff, can we do something as a family? I feel like we both owe her that.”
This question both surprised them as Gojo smiled at them.
“Hm, I don't see why not.” Nanami felt good by Gojo's simple suggestion, they can at least give their daughter a normal family dynamic. This would be a great way to start small then work their way up to a healthier relationship as co-parent and be a team.
“That’s a good idea.” Shoko felt like her friend had a hidden agenda but she didn’t want to say anything at the moment due to Nanami being happy about this. She will have to remind herself to ask Gojo in private.

Chapter Text
It’s been a decent couple of weeks for them, well for Nanami. Everything seems fine yet he doesn’t feel it. He was still on the fence about therapy, a request from Shoko. To him it was just less sleeping and Gojo was stressing him before his mom came to help. He felt at ease knowing Emi was in good care with his mom now. This gave him extra time for himself to rest and take care of other chores around the house.
As for Gojo, he has been very pleasant to Nanami, there were few times Nanami thought Gojo was going to say a smart remark but instead he was nice. Nanami didn’t know how he felt about this but the goal is to have a healthy co-parenting relationship for Emi. If Gojo is being nice with him for her then he doesn’t care if it's all an act at this point as long as Emi doesn’t grow up in a toxic environment due to her parents. Nanami feels like he has to try, even though he is more blunt about his feelings toward Gojo, he should try to be nicer too. Co-parenting is complicated when the alpha is a man-child, he thought. Last thing he needs is for their daughter to think he was the problem when she grows up. If Gojo can pretend, then why can’t he. Afterall, it’s the parents' job to make sure their children grow up happy.
Today was another small walk to the park with their baby. The first time with the idea of the park, Nanami was hesitant and afraid to take her outside but with the help of Shoko’s encouragement and Gojo’s speech about family bonding (was made up as he talked), made good points, he can’t keep her indoors all her life.
“This is a nice walk,” Gojo pushed her stroller as Nanami walked next to him. Most of the time their walks are in silence or Gojo would tell him something about Jujutsu news.
“Hm, yeah,” Nanami sighs. It was a beautiful day yet he felt meh. It was a feeling that lingered for a while, Shoko and everyone kept looking at him with this look which he didn’t like when he mentioned it.
It’s just a new parent feeling right?..for omegas.
He just feels uneasy even though everything is fine. He was pulled out of his thoughts by Gojo’s question. “Kento, you ok? Hellllooooo.”
“Yeah,” There is that look again from Gojo, it bothers him not knowing what he thought of him, now. Gojo knew Nanami wouldn't open up to him either, this conversation always ends the same, no result.
“Hm, I have been wanting to talk to you about something.” Gojo pauses for a moment. “I know you don’t like my family-”
“I like your parents, but everyone is questionable.” Nanami was trying to be civil. “Where are you going with this?”
“I want Emiko to meet her grandparents. They have been asking to see her. And her great grandmother too,” Gojo looked down at Emi as she slept. “And I would like for us to go together. But the decision would be up to you when you are ready because I know you don’t feel comfortable with Emi being there without you.”
Nanami didn’t say anything right away. He knew eventually this would come up, he couldn’t deprive Gojo’s parents or her of a relationship, they were her family too. He didn’t feel comfortable with the majority of the clan but his parents were lovely people, it surprises him at times that they birth Gojo, the way he is acting up.
“I understand your concerns when it comes to Emi, that’s why I am asking you. I don’t want to argue, just us to have a conversation about, if your feelings would change or if you need time.” Gojo said as he hoped Nanami would try as he was trying to be an adult about this. He wanted his parents and family to meet Emi, after all she is the heir to the clan. “I’ll try my best to work with you.”
“Hm, I appreciate you asking, Satoru.” Nanami still felt unsure. He genuinely appreciates Gojo for asking and understanding him when it came to their baby.
“Yeah, but listen you don’t have to answer today. I rather you take your time Kento,” Gojo said with a smile.
“Thank you,” Nanami felt relieved that Gojo’s giving him time even though he felt a ‘no’ in his heart but he knew he can’t hide her from them since it’s Gojo’s family and she is the only heir. He wanted to be rational and think this through than to say flat out no to Gojo. If Gojo has been patient with him, then he can at least try and work with him. There were not enough books about co-parent and in-laws for Nanami to learn from.
He just wants her to meet her grandparents, yet I feel uneasy about it but guilty?
Notes:
I am building complicated story it seem (even for me) but please be patient. I have the ending but I'm having a hard time writing the story few chapters before that.
Chapter 32: Just go to therapy
Chapter Text
Nanami was enjoying a nice day with Emi at his favorite bakery. The owners and the worker were very excited to meet his baby, he was their regular customer for years, and they were happy for him.
“This is the bakery where we got lots of the pastries from,” Nanami smiled at his little one. “All because you were making mama crave 5 pasties at once instead of my usual bread.”
It was good for him to get back to his regular interests even though it was just the bakery, it was a small step for him. The small walks and the cafe was nice, as he felt it has been so long since he interacted with regular people.
Nanami sat by the window with Emiko in her stroller, drinking his coffee with toast bread, just taking in the view of the people walking by.
Suddenly, he felt a tap on his arm, it was a small boy who was on his tippy toe trying to see Emi.
“She is a pretty baby,” The boy watched Emi as she was sucking on her mittens. “Can I see her closer, please.” Nanami thought it was cute. “What's her name!?”
“Emiko, what’s yours,” Nanami asked.
“I’m Tai. My dad told me and my brothers we’re going to have a baby sister, and I have never seen a baby girl and I am super excited. I hope my baby sister looks like her!” Nanami can’t help but to chuckle. He gets Emi out of the stroller into his arms for Tai to see her.
“Hi Emiko! I’m Tai!” Emiko was just staring as she kept suckling her mittens.
“Tai! What did I say about wandering off. I am so sorry,” It was a handsome alpha as he came to get his son.
“But dad, it's a pretty baby!”
“It’s ok, he was just being a curious kid. It’s no bother.” Nanami smiled at them. “He was telling me about his sister on the way, congratulation.” They chatted for a bit as parents, it was nice to hear tips from another parent and to reassure him, parenthood is hard but worth it for your kids. After the cafe, he headed home with a smile, that little kid made his day.
When he got home, Gojo was putting up groceries and diapers. “Hey, I got some shopping done for you,” Gojo said as he finished up.
“Thank you,” Nanami appreciated the help.
“Hello my princess!” Gojo excitedly went to hold Emi from her stroller. He stopped and sniffed Emi, sniffed her few more times.
“You might as well change her,” Nanami thought it was her pooping time anyway.
“It’s not that,” Gojo said as his smile dropped. He then walked over to Nanami, and sniffed him. Nanami couldn’t believe what Gojo was doing.
“We’re not doing this again,” Moving away from Gojo.
“I smell another alpha on my baby and you,” Gojo stares at Nanami, waiting for an answer. “It’s my business.”
“Does it matter, cause we’re not together,” Nanami snapped back.
Gojo takes a deep breath. “I’m trying to talk this out. I just want to protect my daughter. I don’t want random alpha around my baby. I need you to be more careful and not bring anyone around our baby either.”
Nanami didn’t want to argue either but at the same time he didn’t like what Gojo was implying about him. This can get ugly fast.
“I was excited to tell you about our day. I had a nice day at the bakery with Emi,” Nanami glared at him. “And then this guy-”
“You are meeting another alpha with our baby! You have no shame!” Gojo looked at Nanami with disgust. “You're a parent now!”
“Shut up!” Nanami didn’t want to deal with this but he was not going walk away either because Gojo assumed he was an unfit parent. “For once, listen first before talking.”
“Lower your voice, you almost startled Emi,” Gojo cradling Emi. Nanami hates this feeling, Gojo always makes him feel like he is the crazy one.
“I don’t like how you make think I'm the problem,” Nanami said looking at Gojo with disappointment.
“Maybe if you didn’t go sneaking around with other alpha, we wouldn’t have this issue.” Gojo said in a cold voice.
Nanami didn’t say anything right away. He was shocked and hurt by Gojo’s words but most of all angry. He thought they would pass this issue but Gojo hasn’t let go. He wanted to yell at Gojo but he remained composed, telling himself not in front of Emi.
Feeling angry but composed. “I had a nice day, we met a little boy, who wanted to see Emi. He had wandered off alone to see her until his dad came and we chatted a bit.”
“Oh,” was all Gojo said.
“But, why does it fucking matter to you, who I chose to see. It’s not like we are together.” Nanami looked at Gojo’s eyes as he said in a cold voice. Gojo was speechless. “I would never bring a stranger near my baby, unlike you who can’t see ones within his own clan. You always have this version of me being the bad person, it's like you want to see my faults only.”
“You shouldn’t be hooking up-”
“We aren’t fucking bonded, Satoru.” Nanami turns to look at him. “I’m going to have myself a nice bath and rest, not gonna have you ruin my day. It’s a nice day, take Emi for a walk and fresh air.” Nanami walked away, he just wanted to have a peaceful day and not indulge in drama, even though he was mad.
*
Gojo decided to take Emi on a walk but ended up at Jujutsu Tech to complain about Nanami to Shoko and also do a mini check up since he is there.
“Well, Nanami is not wrong.” Shoko said as she was examining Emiko. “You aren’t together but you don’t want him to date either. It seems you are the problem.”
“It’s about Emi,” Gojo said, trying to make Shoko understand. “He can't bring other men around her!”
“I don’t think it's about Emi. You're still in love but jealous and angry,” Shoko sighed. “I told you to go to a therapist to sort your feelings and issues. You don't even know what you want. I’m a medical jujutsu doctor, not a miracle worker.”
“I don’t need a therapist!” Gojo looked at his friend.
“You’re right, you might need couple or family therapy too. It’s important to build a healthy relationship before Emi starts talking.” Shoko smiles at Emi as she weighs her. “How is Nanami supposed to get better when you’re not over your own issues? This is a bad recipe for a toxic environment for Emi. Because you are making it worse by not addressing this! Sulking around like a man child.”
“It’s complicated.”
“Uncomplicated with a therapist.” Shoko turned to her friend. “Do it for Her then! It’s worrying me that you always need mediation to show your faults.”
“But he’s not the same.” Gojo tries to bring up Nanami.
“Nanami is trying to move on and improve but you are causing him to fail. Nanami is a dominant omega, who is one of our strongest sorcerers with confidence but somehow, you traumatized him, he is not the same.”
Gojo refused to believe he was the main problem in their marriage when it was Nanami but everyone always sided with Nanami. He knows he has his own issues, maybe but he’s not the bad guy.
“I know you won’t listen. It’s like wasting my breath.” Shoko sighs. “You’re daddy is a stubborn man.”
“Whatever,” Gojo rolled his eyes. When Gojo got back with Emi in the afternoon, he apologized to Nanami for being a jerk as he offered him flowers and dinner. Even though he doesn't think he was wrong, he just needed to be nice for the time being.
Chapter 33: Family Road Trip with Your Idiot Daddy

Chapter Text
It’s been two weeks since that fight, Nanami was glad he was out of town for the most part. He knew Gojo’s apology was half-ass, it was better to fake it with him then to fight more. Nanami was too tired to argue with a man child when all he wants is peace with his baby. Gojo makes him feel crazy, he does not want to give into his emotion all because of Gojo. But, they must work together.
Then the subject of visiting Gojo’s parents came up again which he knew something he can’t avoid forever. He spoke to his mom about it, who told him he can’t deny her other grandparents but understand his concern. They both agree if it's just his parents then it's fine, they were the main people. He has spoken to Gojo about it, who was too excited. However, Nanami told him his rules and plans for the trip, which Gojo agreed to. Before the trip, he wanted Emi to complete her check up and get the doctor’s ok for the trip. He was a cautious parent.
They were at the pediatrician today for Emiko's regular check up, it's been 3 months now and she was a healthy baby. “You are a good baby!” The doctor smiled as she finished up the check-up for Emi.
“Sorry for so many questions,” Nanami said as he sat in the corner watching.
“Miss Emiko is a healthy baby. You are doing a great job, Kento. It’s normal to ask questions when it concerns your baby.” The doctor said to Nanami. He had so many questions for her when he arrived, wanting to make sure everything was answered. “How are you doing mama?”
“I’m fine.” Nanami answered casually.
“That’s what lots of mama say, it's important that you take care of yourself,” Dr. Mei replied. She had read files on Nanami’s birthing experience and the broken bond from a Dr.Shoko. Even though she is a pediatrician, she likes to make sure the omegas are well too.
“I’m trying but also hard getting into a routine of being a parent too,” Nanami tried to convince the doctor. “I was just a bit worried about the road trip to my in-laws…well her dad’s side of the family.”
“Oh, I understand now.” The doctor chuckled. “Enough said.”
“Yep,” Nanami laughed too, it was nice to have someone who understood without having to explain himself. He felt good leaving the doctor’s office. But there was that feeling when he thought about a trip to the clan.
*
It was finally the day of the trip, Nanami felt nervous. He didn’t know if it was because Gojo was driving or the clan, or if it was the fact that it was their first long drive with a baby. Regardless of the cause, he just hated this feeling.
“Why do you look so gloomy, Kento,” Gojo said from his seat. “My parents are excited to see their grandbaby.”
“Don’t look at me! Look at the road,” Nanami said with agitation, it was only thirty minutes into the drive. He was in the back seat with Emi, he had his hand over her chest as she was asleep in the car seat. “I will kill you if you speed this car, and keep your eyes on the road! Can’t believe you are driving!”
“Calm down, Kento. She’s in safe hands.” Gojo smiled through the mirror. “Sheeh, you've been cranky since morning. I know you don’t like my family but can you try, please for Emi.”
Nanami didn’t say anything after a few minutes. “Satoru,” He took a brief pause.
“Yes,” Gojo replied as he kept his eyes on the road but smelled Nanami’s scent of worry.
“I know you think I’m overthinking, it’s our first long distance driving, away from home. I’m just nervous because she’s our baby and I don’t want anything to go wrong.” Nanami said as he still had his hand on her chest, feeling her breathing.
“I understand, I’ll drive cautiously.” Gojo reassured Nanami, even though he felt Nanami was a bit crazy for thinking about everything but he thought it could be his postpartum. “Just take a nap for the rest of the drive.”
“I'd rather stay awake and be cautious,” Nanami replied.
“Of what? My driving!-Oops” Gojo pretends to be driving with no hands for a second.
“Have you lost your fucking mind!” Nanami couldn’t believe the joke he pulled as he held onto Emi’s car seat as his heart was racing.
“Lighten up, I got this,” Gojo chuckled. “You cuss a lot around Emi, you should work on that before it becomes her first word.”
“First of all, stop playing around with my baby in this car before I beat your ass, second, I only cuss when you don’t take me seriously and do stupid shit.” Nanami was angry now but more anxious as his hand shook. “Please just drive in silence and pay attention to the road.”
“I’m trying but you seem to be so intense about my driving that I am sure the whole highway can smell you.” Gojo said, rolling his eyes.
“Don’t you dare roll those eyes at me when they should be on the road!” Nanami did not like this.
“Would you like to drive!?” Gojo snapped.
“Yes! You fucking manic!” Nanami said he wanted to get out of the car to breathe.
“Well, you gotta wait till the next exit,” Gojo was fine sitting in the back with Emi as long as he didn't hear Nanami’s nagging. “It’s like 20 minutes.”
“Fine,” Nanami answered. He was a nervous wreck inside, as his heart was racing. He was trying to calm himself by looking at his baby as he held her little hands.
When Gojo stopped at a gas station, Nanami excused himself and went to the bathroom first. He turned on the faucet with his shaky hands as he splashed some water over his face, hoping to calm him as he didn’t want to see the tears flow. Nothing was stopping his silent tear as he tried to shake his hand and take a deep breath before the uneasy feeling took over completely.
After 10 minutes, he finally felt calm down as he reminded himself to breathe and stay calm for Emi as he was going to drive. Once he got into the driver's seat, Gojo went to the bathroom, giving Nanami time to adjust in the car and put on the sunglasses to hide his eyes.
“I’m sorry for cursing Emi,” Nanami said gently, he did feel guilty for losing his temper around Emi all because Gojo would push his button. “But your daddy is a fucking idiot.” He will try to work on it. As of right now he has to focus on getting through the trip to the clan house.
“I got us some snacks,” Gojo said as he got in the car. “I got you coffee too because you need it.” Nanami decided to ignore the comment.
“Thanks.” Nanami said while taking the coffee. “I’m taking the local way, so it will be a long ride.” He just felt more comfort taking the slow routes. Nanami didn’t care as long as they arrived safely for their baby.

Chapter 34: Grand Entrance for their Grandbaby

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
It took them 6 hours to reach the Gojo Clan Estate, stopping to take a break for Emi for feeding or changing. When they parked the car, Nanami took a deep breath, they were greeted formally by the staff, who led them to the main house where his parents were. Nanami was happy Nana was out of town when they chose to come this week, otherwise his anxiety would have been through the roof.
Gojo held Emi in his arms as Nanami followed behind him to the tea room where his parents waited.
“Wait,” Gojo stopped right before the closed door to the tea room. “You go in first, I wanna make a grand entrance for her grandparents, get it.” Nanami rolled his eyes at the pun. “Just go in, greet them and then on queue when you say ‘ Here is your precious heiress to the Gojo clan, the one and only, grandbaby, Emiko Sapphire Gojo’. That’s when I walked in with her.”
“That’s a bit much,” Nanami just wanted to get this over without the theatrical entrance.
“I worked so hard on her outfit, she looks so cute! She deserves a grand entrance. Look at her Kento,” Gojo holding up Emi, who gave a small smile as she stretched, Nanami couldn’t deny their baby looked too cute. Gojo was excited, he even picked out a traditional pink and white flower silk kimono for her with a pink flower bow as her outfit. Nothing but the best for her.
“Fine,” Nanami shouldn’t be surprised by Gojo wanting some kind of entrance. Lucky, Emi was wide awake right now for this meeting. “But I’m not saying all that.”
“It’s ok, she’ll know what to do,” Gojo said as he kissed his baby’s head. “Right, my princess.”
Nanami went in first to greet them. “Father, mother, it’s good seeing you,” As he bowed, Nanami just said politely, he just went along with father and mother because they still treated him like a son.
“It’s good to see you too,” Gojo’s father spoke. They both were sitting at a chabudai table.
“Have a seat dear. How are you Kento,” Gojo’s mother asked as she had his favorite items on the table. “I got your favorite tea here.”
“Thank you. I’m doing fine,” Nanami sat down in front of them. “Satoru out there with Emiko, waiting to make an entrance, sorry.” Both can’t help but to chuckle, they knew their son.
Suddenly, there was soft Japanese traditional music that came on as the door opened slowly. Two staff came in, throwing flower petals as Gojo followed behind them slowly with Emi, who was looking at the flying petals with a smile. He was prepared for this obviously without Nanami’s knowledge.
“This beautiful blessing from heaven~” Gojo walks in holding Emi in the air like she was the trophy to be presented, along with rose petals flying in the air as he walks in using his power. “Is your beautiful heiress, the one and only granddaughter, the future of the clan, Emiko Sapphire Gojo~.” Emiko was actually smiling as Gojo held her in the air, making some cooing noise. Nanami was impressed, it was like she knew she was the attention of the room.
“Oh my beautiful dearling,” Gojo’s mom was overjoyed with her granddaughter. “May I?” Wanting to hold her. Gojo walks over to his parents, hand the baby to his mother.
“Emiko, you don’t know how excited we are!” Gojo’s father said as he stared at his granddaughter. “We’re going to spoil you!”
“Kento honey, anytime you need a break or rest, let us know. I’ll be happy to look after her during your stay or any time too.” His mom said with a smile. “You need something else too, like selfcare, massages, or anything you can think of.”
“This can include quiet Satoru time too,” Gojo’s dad jokes, which causes everyone to laugh but Gojo, himself.
His parents always make him feel welcomed and loved, he just didn’t understand how they were related to the rest of the Gojo clan. Nanami was glad how his parents were enjoying their time with their grandbaby, she deserves time with them too, he loved how they didn’t care she was a girl.
His baby girl is loved.

Chapter 35: The Pleasant Here is a Unwelcoming
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
It was another beautiful day, the stay at Gojo estate was pleasant, too pleasant for Nanami, it's only been 3 days out of the week for the stay. Nanami thought it was too peaceful which he found unsettling when he knew he should enjoy himself too yet this unknown feeling was lingering inside of him. He told himself he might be overthinking everything since it's been awhile since he socialized with this many people especially. At home, it was Emi and him mostly, sometimes Gojo but he doesn’t count, maybe he was used to the silence.
Nanami needed to enjoy himself. Gojo’s father encourages him to read old literature from the Gojos’ clan private library, as for Gojo’s mother, she offers him to explore the gardens, even importing different teas and coffee for Nanami. And Gojo was being tolerable and no nana, so why couldn’t he relax. Gojo’s mother did check on him often, as her omega instinct was worried for Nanami, she saw him as her own pup. She was too delightful for this family, Nanami thought.
He was in the garden reading a book when Gojo’s mom approached him with a smile with eyes of concern which got Nanami worried.
“Is everything ok,” Nanami put his book down as his first thought was Emi as he was about to get up.
“Depends on what I’m about to tell you.” She gracefully sat next to him as she sighs. “Sato’s nana came back early from her trip. I just found out an hour ago and thought I'd tell you first. She wants to meet Emiko during her noon tea today, I will be there too. We both know how difficult it can be. I’m sorry, honey.” As she rubbed his back to comfort him.
That feeling of his grew stronger as he felt uneasy but he chose to take a deep breath, hoping it would go away. “You have nothing to apologize for, it’s Emi’s great nana. I knew they would need to meet sooner or later. I appreciate you telling me. I just need to…not let her get to me during my stay.”
“Kento, look at me,” She spoke firmly yet gently as she placed her hand on top of his to give him reassurance. “If she gives you a hard time or stresses you out, leave. Nana is crazy and we both know it. Satoru’s dad and I will deal with her and Satoru. I know you try to be civil but honey it's not worth your health. I’m worried about you, I can smell your hint of anxiety since day one stepping into this house when I know there is more hurt inside. You are mama to your baby now and it’s important you take care of you for Emiko. As omegas, I know we put up so much but you have been through a lot, I worry for you.” She gave out a comforting scent for Nanami. He couldn't help but to lean into her shoulder as she put her arm around him, comforting him like a mother.
Nanami was surprised by her words, he would have thought she would ask him to stay for Emi. She genuinely cared for him and gave him the most support here. But he didn’t want to do that to her. Even though his instinct told him she was right, he didn’t want to shorten the stay just because Nana was bitter.
“Thank you,” Nanami just felt happy to have someone see him as him. “Crazy…”
“My dear, we both know many other unflattering words to describe her,” They both couldn't help but to laugh.
*
Nanami was running late to tea time as Emi was fussy as he tried to feed formula with her new bottle but she was not having it, so he had to breastfeed her until she was well fed and happy. He didn’t care if they were late, his baby comes first.
He was in his room when Gojo barged in without knocking. “Did you forget tea time with Nana? She’s been waiting for 10 minutes.”
“Close the door! Do you not see me feeding the baby?” Nanami quickly grabbed a blanket to cover himself with Emi still feeding.
“Why are you breastfeeding her now?” Gojo was huffed as he was excited to show off Emiko to his Nana. “Where’s the new bottle?”
“I’m sorry, do you wanna ask Emiko, a baby , why she chose to be hungry at her regular feeding schedule and not take the bottle she is not familiar with?” Nanami said with sarcasm. He wanted to throw the bottle at Gojo for asking stupid question about their baby’s feeding. “My baby comes first, and everybody else can wait.”
“Sorry, sorry,” Gojo felt stupid for asking a question. Emi got more fussy as she tried to pull the blanket off her, she wanted to see as she was being fed. About 3 months, babies usually recognize their parents. This was cute, she would show excitement, however, would stop in the middle of sleepy feeding (tired baby being fed that will have a good nap) when she would hear Gojo’s voice and start playing around. The problem was she would throw a tantrum later since she had no nap time and Nanami wanted to avoid a cranky baby.
“Can you turn around!?” Nanami asked as Emi was getting excited as she kicked her feet around.
“Sure, sure,” Gojo turned around on the other side of the room. He was hearing Nanami struggling with Emi, maybe he should have waited. Emi kept moving around not waiting to feed anymore as she was done.
“She’s too excited now to feed, thanks to you,” Nanami knew he lost this fight with Emiko but aleast she had some feeding he thought. “You’re gonna be cranky lil’monster later without nap.”
“She’ll be fine, just a little crying,” Gojo said as he walked over to Nanami.
”Just burp her while I use the bathroom, then we can head out.” Nanami sighs as he gets ready, he catches himself in the mirror wearing a simple silk pink kimono, he can’t believe Gojo got them to wear traditional Japanese as a family, playing family for Emiko when they could’ve been a real one if it wasn’t for Gojo.
*
Nanami felt the uneasy feeling again as they were walking toward Nana’s room. He told himself it was just for an hour, then after, some formal interaction during this trip. She was a crazy old lady, he couldn't let her get to him easily with words when he was a sorcerer who fought curses which were worse. Nanami is a strong sorcerer, this should be nothing.
He followed Gojo’s lead as they headed into the room. He was glad to see Gojo’s mom there as she brought him comfort, then there was Nana, giving a smile, a fake smile Nanami can spot a mile away.
“Oh NANA~” Gojo said as he walked in with Emiko in the air once again but this time not a grand entrance, just a simple one. “This is our heiress to the Gojo Clan, Emiko Sapphire Gojo.” Emiko just smiled because she was flying in her daddy arms.
“Oh, Sato,” Nana said casually as she was looking at Emiko, like examining her. “She is indeed.”
“Hello,” Nanami respectfully bowed before the setting next to Gojo’s mom, she acknowledged him with a nod. Nanami didn’t care as long as she was being civil. Gojo sat next to his Nana with Emiko in his arms.
“I see that her beautiful feature comes from my beautiful grandson,” Nana gloated. “It takes good genes to be that pretty.” She shot Nanami a look but he didn’t care.
“I know, she is my mini me!” Gojo was happy as he looked at his baby.
“Thank heaven she has my Satoru look!”
“Kento has been doing an amazing job raising our Emiko, she is a healthy and a happy baby,” Gojo’s mom said as she didn’t like how Nana was talking.
“Yes, yes! Proud of you for being the omega you needed to be while raising the child. Glad it came naturally as it should.” Nana said as she expected him. “You modern omegas want to do everything yet nothing but complain!”
“Oh Nana, Kento has been doing a great job, actually! Even though he can be a bit much,” Gojo smiled but Nanami and his mom were dumbfounded by Gojo not reading the room. “Always over thinking.”
“Satoru, Kento will do anything to protect his baby just like you. Omegas are just more precautions,” Gojo’s mom was disappointed by her son.
Nana didn’t care for anything else but for Gojo. “Well our Sato is doing everything as Kento, and having time to fight evil spirits and curses! So smart and strong! You make Nana so proud!” Nana smiled at her beloved grandson. “Six-eyes and limitless, born to be a leader!”
“Nana, stop it!” Gojo loved the attention as he bounced Emi a bit on his lap while holding her.
“Satoru, you're rocking her a bit too much,” Nanami was concerned. “She just ate.”
“Kento, don’t you trust my Satoru. He is the strongest sorcerer of our time and a baby is an easy task for him.” Nana gloated.
Nanami could have rolled his eyes so hard it would have been stuck, it was uncomfortable to watch Gojo and Nana. He can sense Gojo’s mom's irritation as she's been trying to make Nana understand times have changed. This won’t be the first time.
“Six-eyes technique yet my son can’t read the room,” Gojo’s mom said as she sipped her tea. This caused Nanami to chuckle at the comment as he watched Nana face drop to scowl.
Gojo was ready to say something, til Emiko threw up her milk onto her and Gojo’s clothes, and some on the table.
“Whoa lil mama!” Gojo sits her up properly as he tries to grab a cloth to wipe her.
“Did you burp her?” Nanami just watched as Gojo tried to clean some of the milk, Emiko just looked relieved as she smiled. He knew this would have happened after feeding, when she moves around too much or not burped probably.
“I did try,” All Nanami heard was that I half-assed this.
“Honey, I don’t think she is done, rub her back.” Gojo’s mom said as she helped pass the napkin to him.
“Why are you just sitting there?! What kind of omega sits there and does nothing as their pup is vomiting!?” Nana didn’t like this, her grandson shouldn't be cleaning the pup when it should be the omega parent.
“Mother, she is just spitting up her milk, it's normal,” Gojo’s mother quickly responded. “Satoru is capable of cleaning her up.”
“Nana, I got this. We will be back, right my little princess!” Gojo gets up to clean her and put her in new clothing as he leaves the room. “Oh, she did around two!” Yelling from the hallway.
“You are an insolent omega! How dare you let my Satoru clean after the pup when it’s your duty as omega to do it!” Nana’s fake smile drops with an angry scowl. There was the real Nana. This didn’t bother Nanami as this was the same thing she said multiple times, it has lost its meaning. He never understood how Gojo’s mom managed to stay this long with this family, then again she does live in a separate house, but still being near Nana would drive anyone crazy.
“Mother! Kento is very-” Gojo’s mom was cut off.
“Same with you too! You all new age modern omegas are just lazy!” Nana huffed. “Letting the alphas do everything! First my son and now my poor Satoru, who is saving the world and taking care of his pup at home at the same time, he deserves better!”
“You did say he is the strongest,” Gojo’s mom shotback with a smirk which Nanami chuckled at but caused Nana to glare at him.
“Well Kento, out of both of you, you are the worst! At Least she gave birth to a son with both curse techniques, strongest sorcerer for the Gojo Clan and Jujustiu world. What did you give us? You birthed a daughter. But you couldn’t even do birthing right as an omega! It’s embarrassing.” Nana said with venom. “I should have planned harder to stop my grandson before you leeched yourself with a pup with him.”
Nanami felt a cut in his soul, the night of Emiko's birth.
"You, you're my daughter. I don't know why you lost all your dignity defending his kind when we are family." Flicking her hands at Namani with a look of disgust. "I don't know why you would be on the side of a person that would cheat on your son and raise someone else bastard. I would be embarrassed if I were you." The face Nana had was pure hate for Nanami.
"His kind doesn't function like normal, they act like animals when their hormones peaks. Cheated on my perfect grandson” Nana sneered. “If you going to defend trash, take yourself out with him,”
Namani stood there, shocked, mind numb with pores steaming all over his body at the accusation slowly turning to his mother in law. He sees doubts bubbling up from inside her onto her face. Her once confident face becomes stoic, he can't imagine having to explain and convince another person that he loves his innocence, knowing deep down there will always be doubt. His mind starts to hurt while his body temperature begins to risk, slowly trembling with heartbreak.
"I'll talk to you later mother" Nanami said as he turned and walked out without looking at her, his body and soul trembling with unspoken lesions.

Chapter Text
Nanami felt his surroundings go blur. Many emotions were going through his racing mind as he felt his body was trembling. He didn’t know how he managed to come back to his room, hiding in the bathroom, locking the door. He turned on the faucet, splashing the water on his face while trying to ignore the tears running down his face. He didn’t recognize the person in front of the mirror staring back at him.
The omega within was hurting, wanting to whine out loud as he didn’t feel safe in this family. But who would come for him? It's supposed to be the alpha of their family, to protect and comfort him, giving the sense of security for him and the baby.
I’m all by myself….alone
His body was trembling, hands shaking, his airway felt narrow. Taking a deep breath, Nanami grabbed the towel near him, trying to wipe the water off his face, but it was only hot tears pouring out. He slumped down to the floor, trying to muffle his own cry. He was alone.
His mind replayed the words of Nana. How could someone, an omega also, say those vile things about a baby. Everyone knows Emiko is Gojo’s child, the eyes, the hair, the smile. Does she hate Nanami so much that she won’t accept Emiko either.
Worst part of all this, he shut down.
Nanami has always been someone to discuss or confront any issues, sorcerer or not, he never been one to back down yet here he is not able to confront Nana. The old him would have given a piece of his mind to Nana and the clan. How did a dominant omega like him change? It's like this brain and body had to shut down.
The echoes of Nana’s voice replayed in his mind, every word had its venom, cutting Nanami like a knife. Then the image of Gojo's mom’s face with Nana's accusation stung. He was losing everything.
There was a knock at the door breaking his thought. “Kento,” spoken softly. It was Gojo’s mom, he didn’t want to see anyone right now as his mind and body was hurting through a broken heart again. Humiliated and Hurt.
“Honey, I just wanted to check up on you,” She spoke softly, putting her ears against the door. Nanami stays silent. “And apologize for what Nana said.” She couldn't believe Nana spoke to Nanami like that, she can’t imagine what he must be going through. She picked on a faint scent of a stressed omega which had her worried.
“I’m…ok,” Nanami said, trying to keep his voice normal as he was trying to muffle his cries, trying to calm his body. She knew he was not ok. She can’t imagine the mental toll it's taking on him.
The scent of the distressed omega was worrying her. He was already stressed coming to the Clan estate, away from home with Emiko. Unfamiliarity and no sense of security, especially with a pup, would make any omega unease. Unless her son steps in to help but she was in doubt of that.
“You didn’t deserve that. You and Emiko are my family. I’ll support your decision and help you, if you need to leave. You both don’t deserve this treatment from Nana nor other members of the clan.” She just stood by the door, as she was hurt and angry for Nanami, she couldn't believe her mother in law was a vile woman. Refusing to accept Emiko, what shocked her. It was clear to everyone, Emiko was her son’s pup. They both deserve better than this family. “I’m sorry.”
There was a few minutes of silence before she spoke. “Please, let me know if you need anything else. I have prepared food and tea by your bedside.”
“Thank you,” Nanami said with a raspy voice. He heard everything she said but his mental state was overwhelmed. No more words needed to be said as she understood, and left the room, making sure no one disturbed him for the day.
Nanami was still trying to control his tears and breathing in silence. He was taking deep breaths to stop his hands from trembling before this feeling spread to his whole body. Small whimpering escaped his lips, this was new. Something internal was telling him to release this feeling, the unknown feeling. He slowly gets up to the shower, turning on the water, expecting the warm water would relax him. Didn’t even bother to take his clothes off as he just hoped the drops of water would numb him, instead of feeling the tears and the rushing thoughts.
There was a small part of him that was glad she believed him still. Yet not enough to make him feel he belonged. His mind was overshadowed by Nana’s cruel words for his baby. He finally knew where he and his baby stood when it came to Nana.
He needed to leave this place with Emiko.
He and Emiko didn’t belong….

Chapter 37: You're the Crazy One

Chapter Text
Nanami realized he would have to wait to talk with Gojo. Also it would be late to leave now due to sunset and he wouldn't feel comfortable taking her during the night especially with curse spirits.
Nanami decided to talk with Gojo in the morning about Nana as well. As the hours of the night went on, he realized this topic could turn into an argument, if he didn’t listen then Nanami would just peacefully leave with Emi and have no contact with Nana. The more he thought about it, maybe it would be best to just ask to leave early then to discuss Nana. She can be a topic for another day.
He waited in the morning to talk with Gojo, privately in his room. Gojo just barged in without knocking. “You wanted to chat?” As he sat on the bed.
Luckily he was sitting by the window. “Can’t you knock!” Nanami was irritated.
“It’s not like I've never seen your naked body before,” Gojo smirked. Nanami rolled his eyes but chose to get to the point.
“Anyway Satoru, I want to leave today with Emi.”
Gojo looks up at Nanami with a smile, dropping “You can’t leave now! I have a surprise for you and Emi this afternoon, well like in 2 hours.” Nanami didn’t like where this was going. There that feeling again, this time his gut was telling him he won’t like this plan.
“I invited your family to lunch for Emi. It's like a small gathering for her from both sides of the family, a small celebration!”
Nanami frowned, Gojo planned this celebration party behind his back without even discussing it. Then it hit him, Gojo never cared for his concern when this was brought up months ago. “I told you my concern about the party with Emiko.”
Gojo groans just like a moody teenager. “ I know. But you always have concerns . At the rate you were going, Emi would be in high school.”
“She already met her grandparents. We don't need any party.” Nanami said firmly as he ignored the small hurt, his concern was just caution for their daughter.
“It's just a celebration, what is your problem with a small gathering?” Gojo's demeanor changed. He took his mask off as he gave his full attention to Nanami. They both knew this conversation was about to take a turn. The anxiety was coming, he hated how his body was betraying him, muscles were beginning to tense up. “Because we both know nothing is simple with you.”
“Why would I make it simple when I can make it grand. Our baby deserves the best! I already spent time and money, and brought your family to celebrate with us for Emiko.”
Nanami didn’t respond as he just rolled his eyes. “It’s unnecessary-”
There was a heavy shift in the air. “I don't understand your fucking problem. I'm doing this positive thing but Nooo, your negative mood has to ruin everything!” Gojo snapped. Nanami's nose picked up an angry alpha scent. “I did everything for the past weeks to keep you happy and tried to understand you. The patient I had with you , I deserve a fucking medals.”
Nanami felt betrayed as he thought they were on the same page for Emi’s health. All this time Gojo was lying with every word and action just to get his way. Nanami felt like a fool.
But he wasn’t going to let Gojo intimidate him. “So you lied all this time! Her health matter to me and-
Gojo’s voice was loud. “Oh god! Quit using Emi as an excuse. You just hate my family so much that you would do anything.”
“Your family is crazy!” Nanami snapped, he wasn’t going to let Gojo walk over him.
Gojo snorted. “Like you're the one to talk.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” The look alpha gave Nanami made him feel uneasy.
“You’re the cuckoo~” Gojo laughed in a condescending way. “Paranoid much”
That struck a nerve for Nanami. He was following his instinct to protect Emiko but all Gojo saw was unhinge omega. All because he was taking extra steps for their daughter’s health. “Fuck you! I tried to be civil and there was no point in talking to you. I’m taking my baby out of here!” Nanami said as he was walking towards the door.
Gojo stopped laughing as he teleported in front of Nanami. “The hell you will! She is my baby too!”
His inner omega was sensing anger from Gojo, it was heavy, however, he chose to ignore the warning. “Try and stop me.” He bumps arms with Gojo as he continues to walk toward the door once again.
“Kento if you walk out that door taking Emiko, I will fucking fight you in court.” Nanami stopped and slowly turned to face Gojo. He was shocked by Gojo’s words as the room was filled with the scent of an angry alpha. His heart was pounding.
Gojo slowly walks up to him, his eyes darkened as he lifts Nanami’s chin. “Look at me ! We both know I have the power and money of the best lawyer already. Let’s be honest, I’d win .” The words were venom.
Nanami was frozen in place.
I can’t lose my baby
The words echoed in his head. His heart and mind started racing to many possibilities. Would Gojo take away Emi from him? The fear of losing his baby would destroy Nanami, he needs his baby, she is his everything. His inner omega was starting to distress. Tears swell up in his eyes yet he refuses to break eye contact.
I can’t lose my baby
His mind was given all the scenarios why he would lose to Gojo. The fear he felt in his soul was unimaginable. He didn’t think Gojo could stoop so low.
I can’t lose my baby
Gojo’s stares at Nanami for a few minutes then he gives an unsettling smile. “All I am asking is for this celebration with our family. Just cooperate with me for today then tomorrow we can all go home.” He slowly wiped one of Nanami’s tears with his fingers as if he cared for him.
He was stunned by Gojo’s behavior. He just can’t believe the man he once knew could be so cruel.
“I just need you to stop being so difficult.” Gojo sighs as walks away from Nanami, stopping at the door. “You always try to make me feel like the bad guy when I’m just trying to be a parent for Emiko. I’m sorry for getting mad but you threaten to take Emiko away from me, so I had no choice to bring up the family court with the way you're behaving these days.”
Nanami doesn’t turn around, he stays silent as his tears spill down his cheeks.
There was a heavy sigh from Gojo as he opened the door. “Just fix yourself before the party. I will send someone in an hour with your outfit. Please get your shit together and fucking smile for Emiko atleast.” With that, Gojo closes the door and leaves.
Nanami let out a loud gasp, he didn’t realize he was holding his breath. His body was shaking, trembling as he cried. He couldn’t let Gojo take Emiko away from him. He had no choice as he just needed to compose himself for Emiko. The last thing he needed was for everyone to think he was a crazy unfit parent, people talk, rumors spread. Pretend with a fake smile until he can go home safely with Emiko.
Emiko is his world
Notes:
This chapter is the whip cream on a sundae, the next chapter is the cherry on top, that will lead to...emotional rollercoaster which I don't like. I realized it will end with 40 chapters. Honestly, this fic makes me cry because no one should go through this.
Chapter 38: Then I Hated My Reflection
Notes:
This was hard to write for so many reason. I re-wrote this chapter so many times but at the end of the day it had to be done.
I dedicated this piece for my mama and other mamas out there.

Chapter Text
The reflection in the mirror shows a beautiful omega. Yet, Nanami only took a glimpse of himself as he felt ashamed. It seems for the past months Nanami felt like he was hiding, scared to share his thoughts and feelings. Keeping the peace for Emiko. All he needed was a second in the mirror to show him and the world he was composed. Everything was fine.
For Emiko
The pressure to act perfect and calm was a lot for Nanami. Picture Perfect Family. It was all an illusion for everyone at the party for Emi. Front of all family, friends, sorcerers, and strangers, was a happy family with matching clothing, smiling for the camera, was all a lie . Nanami managed to fool everyone while struggling internally throughout the whole party. Gojo showed off Emiko like she was a trophy, to the so called few people which were 500 people. Nanami felt angry but he told himself he can’t lose Emiko, if he caused a scene in front of everyone, Gojo would use it against him.
He didn’t care what Nana was telling others about him, or how he was following Gojo, who was parading Emiko, he knew the whispers about him. He would rather be a protective mama then entertain the guests. Throughout the whole night, he felt a heavy burden on his chest but Nanami kept it civil until he could leave the Gojo estate.
Just as promised, Nanami got to leave with Emiko the next day, along with Gojo much to his dismay. The car ride was silent between them but not with Emiko, who was just giggling and blabbering at Gojo’s rumbling. Nanami decides maybe it is best if he brings up their discussion later, not in front of Emiko. Overthinking everything just to make sure Gojo understood him without having to offend him while trying to protect Emi from a bad home. Then there was a discussion about Nana. The more he thought about everything, his mind would think of the worst outcomes. He did have his proof but then again Gojo would call him crazy. This would lead to more migraines and stress for him, something he does not need right now with his pup.
Nanami felt exhausted but also relieved once they got home, well somewhat of a relief since Gojo was here. He felt at ease without having to pretend even from his own family.
They didn’t say much to each other as Gojo put Emiko down for her nap as Nanami just unpacked in silence. Yet, his mind was occupied as many thoughts went through his head about everything and the many outcomes if he were to talk with Gojo.
A knock at the door broke his thought. “Hey, I’m leaving to help Yaga for a bit,” Gojo said standing by the doorway. “Emi is napping in her crib. Oh, I will be going to Kyoto tonight for a quick lesson, so I’ll stop by to get a few things and say bye to my princess.”
“Okay,” Nanami said as he watched Gojo leave, no longer feeling his curse energy in the house. He felt a huge relief wash over his body. “Thank goodness.”
His inner omega felt so relieved once the alpha was gone. This hit Nanami with a realization, he no longer felt comfortable with Gojo. The father of his baby.
The house is Nanami’s home because he made it a home for him and Emi when Gojo left them. No longer their home. This was a problem because omegas don’t like feeling uncomfortable in their nesting area, especially having to worry about their pup and an unwanted alpha. His inner omega saw Gojo as a threat.
Oh fuck
Nanami tries to take a deep breath as he tries to calm his body and mind. He needed to talk to Shoko soon because if his inner omega sees unwanted alpha in their territory, it will get ugly.
Satoru is her dad, not a threat
A threat to take Emiko!
No..no..FUCK! I need to calm down…
There’s that feeling again. Taking deep breaths as he tries to think logically about everything. But the more he thought about Emiko being taken away by Gojo, the worse his inner omega was shaking. This was a new feeling, unknown yet it was giving him so much emotion. He can’t have an anxiety attack or any attack over Gojo right now when he has a baby in the house alone.
He quickly grabs Emi’s teddy bear as he sniffs the scent to calm him, trying to think happy thoughts of Emi as breathed in and out. It took him about 20 minutes to get completely calm.
Once Nanami felt he was in a decent mindset, he texted Shoko about this. Hopefully, this was a small inconvenience for him, nothing serious. She quickly replied with a yes insisting they wine and dine tonight, a wine mainly for her as he unwinds, she joked. It is nice to have regular company, Nanami thought, he can also get her input on how to engage Gojo about his Nana.
For the rest of the day, he was excited and even insisted on making dinner for her. But first, Nanami needed to set up a playpen for Emi in the living room. It was space for her to play and roll on her tummy since she was rolling. This was also for him to have a peace of mind to watch her as he did the household chorus without having to worry about Emi being alone upstairs.
However, she hated it.
The minute he put her down to play, she would throw a crying fit like she was hurt. “Let’s put on the dancing fruits,” As he held her, waiting for her to be immersed in the tv. Once she was laughing, Nanami tried again, but this time she threw another bigger tantrum.
“I’m here Emiko, right here,” As he cradles her. He didn’t have this problem before but then it hit him. She was spoiled, the more he thought about it, she was held the hold time during the visit to the clan house. She became too good for the ground which made him chuckle.
“Baby girl, you are spoiled rotten by everyone,” Nanami sighed as he sat down with Emiko in his arms watching the dance fruits. Nanami was tired out by his baby. “You know Aunt Shoko is coming and we got things to do.” She just laughed at her dancing fruit. Nanami knew this was one of many things babies will do, he just has to learn from other parents how to solve it.
Two hours had passed as Nanami tried again, once again she threw a tantrum. “Emiko, mama needs to go to the bathroom,” Nanami knew she didn't understand him as she just glared at him, he couldn't help but to chuckle. “You did get something from me after all.”
He knew he had to put her down, it was hard to hold a baby while using the bathroom. “Well, I gotta put you down for a second, you wiggle too much as we both learned from last time.” Nanami gives kisses to Emi. “You’re such a drama queen.”
He laid her in the bassinet and ran to the bathroom. Emiko was screaming through her lungs as she cried. Nanami was trying his best to use the bathroom quickly as his instinct was to comfort his baby.
Emiko’s cries slowly stop as he starts washing his hands, feeling good that Emiko settles herself with a nap. Coming out of the bathroom he was met with Gojo holding Emiko in his arms, soothing her.
“Didn’t you hear her crying!?” Gojo cradles Emiko, comforting her with kisses. “She must have been screaming for a while. “My poor princess, daddy’s home.”
Nanami felt irritated. “She’s fine. I just put her down for a second to use the bathroom.”
“How can she be fine when she was screaming like that?” Gojo gave Nanami a look of disappointment. This didn't sit well with Nanami as he felt Gojo was making it like he was a bad parent.
“Oh please, she’s just throwing temper tantrums,” He was not in the mood to argue with Gojo when they just got back home today. “Babies have various cries for different needs. Look at her, she is fine.”
“What kinda omega are you, letting her cry like that.” Gojo’s words stung his heart. He is trying his best to be a good mama for Emiko. He felt his heart starting to race. “Ignoring her cries when she just wants to be with you.”
Those words echoed in Nanami’s mind again. “Stop, let’s not argue,” Nanami interrupts Gojo quickly. “I’m exhausted, I just need a moment to use the bathroom without having to take her with me.” He hated the way Gojo made him feel.
“We both already know it ain't for looks,” Gojo said casually as Nanami just glared.
“ Exhausted, ha,” Gojo said in a mocking tone. “From what? We just got back from the estate and you're tired-”
“You and your Nana !” Nanami snapped. He hated the way Gojo accused him of being a bad parent.
“Oh wow this again.” Gojo rolled his eyes. He couldn’t believe why Nanami was out to get his nana. “Next thing you’ll say you got proof on my poor old nana.”
When Nanami was silent, Gojo couldn’t help but to laugh. “Oh god, you lost it, Kento!”
It stung Nanami’s heart to see Gojo laugh at him, calling him crazy. He felt his chest starting to get heavy but he wasn’t going to let Gojo see him fall apart.
He takes a deep breath and confidently replies. “I have gathered information and proof. Nana is manipulative. You are far up her ass that you can’t see shit. Everyone else can. I was trying to be civil on how to approach this subject because she is dear to you, however, you've been so childish that I can’t have a civil conversation with you without turning into argument. All I’m asking is for you to listen whole heartedly.” He didn’t realize, his heart was beating fast as he spoke.
Gojo was tired of hearing this subject. “Fine, let's do this. Since, you won’t stop playing the victim.” Every word that has come out of Gojo’s mouth stung Nanami, bit by bit. He needed to walk away before he fell apart in front of the alpha.
“You know what, this is not worth my time. Emiko comes first, so just take care of her since you know everything. ” Nanami was not going to have Gojo mock him. He felt his eyes getting watery and that feeling in the chest was coming back.
“Where are you going? I thought you wanted to show me proof.” Gojo said following Nanami with Emiko in his arms.
Nanami was fighting his tears and took a deep breath. “Put Emiko down for a nap, and then we’ll have a discussion.”
“Trying to buy time.” Gojo said with a smirk
Nanami was angry but he took another look at Gojo, putting on a bitter smile. “Satoru, remember this well. You broke our bond and family. All because you choose to believe Nana over me, no amount fucking apologies or begging will save you.”
With that Nanami left the room, making his way downstairs to the bathroom. Locking the door behind him, he let out a deep breath, once again wiping his tears with his trembling hands.
Every word Gojo said stung him, especially about him being a bad mama to Emi.
He caught a glimpse of his reflection, eyes filled with tears, crying like a pathetic man. He was one of the top sorcerers in jujutsu. Yet, he didn’t recognize himself, so much has changed since pregnancy to now. The old him wouldn’t tolerate Gojo behavior, let alone cry over a few words, he was an embarrassment now. He hated mirrors now as they were reminders of the change and insecurities.
“I fucking hate him,” Whispering.
My looks don’t matter…I just need to be a good mama…I’m a good parent..right?
She was just crying for few minutes
Why does it feel like he’s right
The inner omega was feeling unsettled because the alpha. Nanami had to recollect himself and think logically.
No…no. He’s the idiot parent
Maybe I’m crazy…talking to myself
“Stop,” He told himself. Taking a deep breath once again, he can’t let those thoughts interfere. He ignores the feeling of this body as he needs to show Gojo the proof. Nanami decided to focus on that since it will be a win for him. Then he’ll see who got the last laugh.
Fuck you and your Nana
Nanami, then prepare the living room with the pictures, clues, and other proof on the wall for Gojo to see. Forgetting Shoko was coming as his mind was focused on Gojo. He had the small confidence to push him forward.
All Nanami wanted to do was rub it in Gojo’s face, showing him he was a jerk and wrong the whole time. Taking a step back to look at the bigger picture. The emotions were flooding back as he saw the pictures, reminders of how he had to fight during the pregnancy to find the truth to save their bond.
Now it was just a bittersweet victory to be right.
His heart was starting to beat rapidly as he heard the footsteps.
“Ok, let's see what you have,” Gojo said as he came down with sleeping Emiko in his arms. He didn’t notice the wall until he put Emiko in her bassinet. “Whoa.”
Nanami was getting anxious. Why should he be when he's been waiting for this moment.
“What the fuck is this!?” Gojo was surprised by the pictures and notes as he walked closer to examine it better.
There was the feeling inside his chest but he chose to ignore it as he spoke. “I did my best to gather these information-”
“Kento, this is crazy! You got a whole conspiracy board here.”
“Stop saying that! I’m not crazy.” There was no blindfold, seeing the crystalized blue eyes after longtime made him feel uneasy as they were no longer filled with care. “Can you shut your mouth for a minute and let me talk.” Nanami was not going to let Gojo talk over him.
“Fine…Humor me” Gojo stared at Nanami wondering if he lost his mind.
“This is serious, why do you make everything a joke?” Nanami’s hands started to shake as his chest felt heavier. Ignoring the sign from his body once again. Frustration was growing.
Gojo gestured to him to continue as he kept quiet. After a few minutes of talking, Nanami was irritated by Gojo. “You’re not taking this seriously?”
“Well it's hard to take this seriously when you have a huge…I don’t know… conspiracy board like insane person! You have my old nana as your villain. Why can’t you just admit you cheated? Instead of making shit up.”
“Stop gaslighting me!” His inner omega was starting to feel uneasy by the alpha’s present.
“Oh my god…always wanting to be the victim,” Gojo was annoyed by this. “I expected better from you, Kento. This is not a good example for Emiko.”
The small hope of victory that was holding him together was unraveling everything he was holding back. The emotions during the pregnancy, the pain of the broken bond was resurfacing in his heart.
Gojo takes another look at the wall. “When are you gonna quit making yourself feel better by spouting all this bullshit?”
Nanami felt a shatter within him.
Suddenly, Gojo was on the floor with a bloody nose.
Nanami was breathing heavily as tears began to spill. “I…fucking… hate you.”
He couldn't believe what just happened as he stared in shock. This was new, in all their years together, he never saw Nanami like this. The look of hurt and hated mix in his golden eyes as he stared at Gojo. Maybe he should have been patient and actually listening.
“Kento,” Gojo said as he felt his nose throbbed and bleeding. He quickly came back to his senses as he stood up facing Nanami. His nose managed to pick up a scent through the blood.
The room was scented heavily of a threatening and angry omega.
“Calm down,” Gojo said as he held up both of his hands as he walked closer, trying to show the omega he was not a threat.
Nanami grabbed the nearest items and started throwing at Gojo as he didn’t feel safe. “Get the fuck away from me!” His breathing was heavy as he felt scared, knowing Gojo can use this against him.
Gojo ended up teleporting behind Nanami, holding him in a tight hug. However, this caused Nanami to panic. “Don’t fucking touch me!” As he elbowed Gojo in the face.
He didn’t realize the yelling caused Emiko to stir from her sleep.
“What the fuck is wrong with you, Kento!” Gojo stumbles back from the hit.
This sent Nanami into a rage.
“Fuck you,” Nanami letting his tears flow.
“I…just wanted..a happy family for our…baby. I fought and fought for our family, only to be called cheating omega by you. Yet, I still loved you after all that.” Nanami takes another deep breath as he cries.
“You were right, I was a bad mama, I should have been protecting Emiko on the night I gave birth. Instead of being hyper fixated on my alpha husband….all for what!” Nanami’s hands were shaking. “Nana’s lies…”
“Kento,” Gojo spoke softly. Trying to think of ways to diffuse the situation. Nanami didn’t care what Gojo had to say as he was engulfed in his emotions.
“I fuck up, I should’ve focus on my baby not you. Ever since her birth, I have been so scared all the time, thinking something bad might happen. All because of me! I should’ve been home resting! Everything I do is wrong, even as an omega.” Nanami wipes his tears.
Gojo felt guilty. “You’re good-”
“You validated my inner thoughts…I FUCKING TRIED TO THE BEST MAMA!” Nanami breathing was getting heavier as his chest felt constricted. He can’t have panic or anxiety attacks now.
Gojo realized he messed up, and Nanami was falling apart.
No, a mental breakdown.
“I HATE YOU, GOJO SATORU!!”
“I’m sorry-” Gojo tries to come close but Nanami backs away.
Nanami’s breathing was erratic. “Worst of all…I hate….myself.” He was crying heavily as he tried to catch his breath in between. Now, Gojo was going to take his baby.
“Don't ... .take,” Nanami was trying to speak but Emiko started to cry in her bassinet. This causes his omega instinct to panic.
Gojo thought it would be best to get Emiko as he walked toward her. “I’ll grab-” Instead he was knocked down by Nanami’s curse technique. Gojo couldn’t believe what was happening.
Nanami ran across the room, grabbing Emiko into his arms. Backing away from Gojo. “You can’t…you can’t…take my baby.”
Gojo got up from the floor, processing what was happening. Ignoring his bleeding nose. Nanami is in distress and has Emiko in his arms. This was not good, his alpha instinct was to get his pup but he was going up against an omega who will do anything to protect their pup.
“Leave!” Nanami yelled as he tried to catch his breath. “Shh, baby, mama….here.” He tried to comfort Emi as he cried.
“Kento, please listen,” Gojo was scared. He never saw Nanami like this, face red with tears with heavy breathing.
“Please…leave,” Nanami tries to figure out what to do as he holds his crying baby.
Gojo tries to come closer but Nanami backs away. Everything in his body was telling him to run away from Gojo.
He’s going to take my baby
Nanami was afraid.
I can’t lose my baby
I need to run
Gojo needed to think of a plan but cornered Nanami was not a good idea. He didn’t have any words to help during this situation. Nanami was having a mental breakdown.
Nanami was trying to get his emotions in control but his anxiety was high as he was afraid that Emi would be taken away from him. He didn’t like how Gojo was staring at him.
“Please….leave..” Nanami moves slowly toward the door but Gojo teleports toward the door which causes Nanami to run upstairs with a crying Emiko. He ran into the nearest room, locking the door behind.
Millions of thoughts were running through Nanami’s head as he was terrified. “Shh..mama here…shh.”
Why did he think a door would stop the strongest sorcerer? Nanami was back into a wall as he watched Gojo trying to open the door, he had no were to go. Gojo was going to take his baby.
The door opens as he sees a very distressed omega with a screaming baby.
Nanami was panicking.
He couldn’t recognize the person in front of him anymore. Face red with tears streaming down as he breathing were short and rapid while trying to calm Emiko, his hands shaking. Eyes filled with fears as he stared at Gojo.
There was nothing he could do without escalating the situation.
He fucked up.
He needed Shoko but he couldn't leave Nanami in this state with Emiko either. He needs to dial her for help, regardless.
“Pick up…please…” Gojo is waiting for her to pick up.
“I’m picking wine-”
“SHOKO! Where are you!?” He quickly teleports to her location without explaining.
All she remembered was seeing Gojo with a bloody nose as he grabbed her hand to teleport.
It took her a moment from the teleport to collect herself as she noticed her surroundings suddenly. “What the fuck, Satoru!”
“I don’t know what to do!” As he turned Shoko to Nanami who was turning to cradle Emiko. Seeing Nanami’s state shocked her.
Nanami wasn’t sure if he could trust anyone. “Don’t take her!”
She quickly tries to assess the situation. “No one is taking her.”
She turns to Gojo. “Satoru, leave!” Her first plan was to help Nanami, then she can figure out what happened between them.
“What-” She grabs his arm pushing him out the door, away from Nanami.
“Don’t fucking argue with me right now. I have a distressed omega holding on to their baby in fear because of you!” Shoko said in a firm tone.
“I wanna help-”
“And you can help by leaving the house until he settles down with Emiko. I will call you once everything is situated.” Shoko glaring at her friend. Without another word Gojo left.
She quickly went back to Nanami, who was struggling to feed Emiko. His body language told her he was still in an anxious state, and was cautious with Emiko.
“It’s ok, he’s gone.” She slowly sat next to him, Nanami let out a deep breath. “I’m here for you, just take your time. No one will be taking Emiko from you.” Reassuring she was there for him no matter what.
As she silently observed, he was pale, more anxious and scared, not the Nanami she knew before. Gojo pushed Nanami to his limit. Resulting in postpartum rage from what she gathered.
Nanami Kento next to her was a broken soul.
Notes:
Thank you reading.
This chapter hurt my heart to write it.
Mothers and parents who goes through this alone is scary, every experience is unique. Writing this in my own words were not enough to explain Nanami's emotions. I want to show how mamas can get overwhelm until they are push to their limits when they were trying their best.
Postpartum comes in different form.
Gojo was one of those dad, who let his egos get in the way instead of focusing on the health of the mama.
Sorry for being all over the place...
Chapter 39: I mess up but I want to apologize
Chapter Text
The reflection of yesterday's event was fresh on Gojo’s mind, replaying everything in his mind as guilty settle. He pushed Nanami too far when he was already stressed. The range of emotions he went through but the most that stuck to Gojo was fear.
The image of Nanami was burned into his mind.
He sat waiting for Shoko to update him, wondering how he could at least help.
She had taken Nanami and Emiko to her place, during the night once Nanami’s mindset was at ease. It took lots of reassurance for Nanami that she was on his side to help. She knew it was not Nanami she was dealing with, it was an omega in fear of losing their pup.
She let out a deep sigh with disappointment. “So, first thing is Emiko is fine, she is with her maternal grandparents.” It took a lot for Shoko to convince Nanami to rest and let someone watch Emiko while he rested this morning. It was the fear of losing his pup that kept him on the edge.
“And Nanami?”
Shoko was silent for a moment. “He’s fine for the time being.” She was angry at her friend but there’s no point wasting time.
“ Fine? After what happen-”
“He’s not fine, you idiot! Far from it, ” Shoko saw the baby cam after Gojo sent it. To watch her friend destroy Nanami with words brought disgust. She wanted to yell at him but there was no point wasting her time when Nanami was her priority. “He’s distraught.”
She spent the night trying to figure out how to help Nanami. She was a doctor but her specialty was never in motherhood and postpartum. Reaching out to other medical friends who specialized in being an omegalogist, they helped set up a treatment for him.
“I fucked up, Shoko. I need to fix it and apologize.”
“Stop. The damage is done.” She was not in the mood for a self pity party for Gojo. “We are way past you needing to apologize to fix this. I genuinely think you don’t understand the gravity of the situation.”
“I do! And I feel guilty!” Gojo has regrets. He didn’t want Nanami to fear him, let alone have Emiko see the fear of her mama being afraid of her dad.
“Humor me, what are you apologizing for?” She already knew where this was going to go. No where.
He saw Shoko was pissed at him but he had to explain himself. “Well, first of all I feel like shit for what it's worth.”
“Hm” Crying to himself in a river.
“He was afraid of me. I let my emotion get the better of me when he was talking about Nana, the whole cheating thing when I should just help him-”
“Gonna stop you there.” Shoko leaning back on her chair. “I don’t think you know. This is going back to cheating , again. I had advised you before, yet you didn’t listen. You need to let that go because there is no more you and Nanami anymore. Get therapy. Reflect on a deeper level. At least for Emiko’s sake.”
Gojo ponders her words.
“Anyway.” Shoko brings back the main focus. “The course of action for Nanami is separation and healing from you for the time being.”
“We’re separated already.”
“I meant as in no contact in any form with you. ” She picks up some paper, looking at her notes for a brief second. “Due to the traumatic experience Nanami went through, this was the best solution.”
“What?” Gojo is a bit confused, not knowing how this will work if they have Emiko to look after.
“It's only temporary until we get a decent process. These things take time, you broke someone who was one of our strongest sorcerer, who had I don’t give a fuck attitude. This is serious, Satoru.”
“I know but we have Emiko.”
“I will be your middleman for Emiko until then. Right now, I need you to be patient for a few days with his mental state and Emiko. You brought out his primal omega to protect his pup from you.”
She couldn’t believe how Gojo destroyed their relationship. “This is going to be a long recovery and I can’t tell how long it will take.” She knows she’ll have to explain everything in depth for Gojo another day.
“He was sorry.” Shoko remembers how Nanami kept repeating ‘ I’m sorry’.
One thing Shoko knew for sure, Nanami was not going to be the same.
Chapter 40: Moving Forward with Hope
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
It was a beautiful day, the people were walking and chatting in the park as they passed by. Everyone was smiling as life went on with regular afternoons in the busy park. Chattering, laughter of children as they play.
“I hope you weren’t waiting too long?” Shoko sat next to him on the bench.
Nanami gave a small smile. “I didn’t notice,” As he held up his new book. “Plus, our reservations are at 5 pm, an hour from now. Can’t believe Utahime wants to do Karaoke after.”
“With a bar!” Shoko knows Nanami was excited. “You know you love it!”
Shoko looked at her friend, he changed so much since that day, mentally and physically. His hair was long, the famous sharp cheek, gone, it was like looking into teen Nanami again. She knew he was getting better but he still had a long recovery. Her focus was on his mentally state but she sometimes wondered if his physical change was a new leaf to find.
However, it didn’t matter as long as he was happy.
“This is your third book this week, what’s the point of having a book club if you keep reading without me and Utahima.”
“Gossiping and getting drunk on wine.”
“True,” Shoko chuckled. It started out for her and Utahime to get Nanami to do the things he loved once before instead of being cooped up all day in the house.
Shoko made sure he had a good support system with his therapy.
“Where’s Emiko?”
“She’s spending the weekends at the clan estate for her first birthday party, you know, the whole big celebration for Gojo’s heiress.” Trust was hard for Nanami. It took a lot and eventually Gojo didn’t take Emiko away from him as Shoko assured him during his dark days.
It took him a while but he came to terms that Gojo will always take care of Emiko, and she has another family that loves her like Gojo’s parents. Plus his own parents will be there too.
Once he was comfortable, Shoko got him a wonderful sitter, someone who was vetted by her which brought him comfort. Later it turns out she was a nurse too, which Nanami couldn’t be too mad since Emiko was in good care.
“Will you be going?” She knew Nanami hadn't seen Gojo since that day. It took him two months to just email Gojo the condition of their co-parenting rules with the help of a therapist. Strictly care of Emiko.
To Nanami, it was the past.
It was something he refused to talk about and acknowledge anymore after the first couple of weeks, even with the therapist, who Shoko kept in touch with for Nanami’s progress.
She still worried for her friend, wondering if he truly moved on or mentally blocked it out. The human mind would do anything to protect oneself from traumatic events.
If he had blocked out that day then she wouldn’t want to open that wound up again.
“No, I already celebrated with a small cupcake, just the two of us.” Nanami was happy to celebrate with his baby girl, just them on her actual birthday. Time flew fast, as his baby girl was a year old. All Nanami wants to do is be a good mama and celebrate her milestone as she grew.
“I heard he got the students to be the dancing fruits and sing-a-long too with a stage.”
“She’s a Gojo.” Nanami gave a sigh with a chuckle. “Even my own parents were happy about it, saying it's their only grand baby and it should be grand.” She was loved.
They were right, Emiko was going to be their only grandchild as Nanami had no intention of dating or having any more pups. He was happy with just him and Emiko.
Nanami was in a good place. “I see you have something on your mind, you've never been the type to shy away.”
“How long are you going to keep communicating through Email?” She knows he can’t avoid Gojo forever. “Not that I am pushing for.’
“Well, recently through text now due to Emiko being at the estate. It’s a slow progress on my end. I know I can’t avoid it forever. I don’t want Emiko growing up wondering why her parents can’t be civil, let alone be in the same room. She won’t be a baby forever.” Nanami wanted her to grow up in a positive environment where both her parents love her, regardless of their differences.
“No need to rush.” Shoko smiled knowing Nanami deserved to take his time. And Gojo was suffering the consequences.
Apparently, a month ago, during his own therapy session, which took him forever, he did some reflection. Then actually followed up with Nanami’s story. However, it led to Nana, not surprised by anyone but Gojo. Last she heard they had a falling out as she tried to bring other mates for him during their conversation.
The alpha was suffering from regret.
He reached out to her for a solution that was a dead relationship. She reminds him it's best to let this go for everyone’s sake as he is moving forward.
She saw no point in telling Nanami when he was in the path of healing.
He was done with the past. Moving forward with Emiko.
“Well, apparently I do before she starts talking like her daddy non stop with questions,” Nanami jokes. Shoko can’t help but to laugh, as she slowly sees her friend again. The shattered pieces of him were mending together.
“Honestly, I feel good after a long time.” Nanami reassured his friend.
It took him 5 months to be exactly where he is today, mentality. He still has a long way to go, still having anxiety here and there. But, the hope is there.
He never expected that a year ago his life was going to fall apart, but through the struggles he tried to hold on to Gojo, the best he could. The family he wanted to grow with Gojo, holding dearly, was a shattered dream.
But that’s life, not everything was going to be perfect.
In the midst of chaos, Emiko was his shining hope.
Notes:
Thank you everyone for reading.
When I first wrote this, I thought it was going to be a simple story, not a toxic drama that got more toxic as it went on. It was a small idea I had to get out of my head then it became this. I never wrote something like this before.
This story hurt my heart on so many level. I know it took a mental toll on everyone, so please take break
Few Notes:
1. Long time ago, I realized Gojo doesn't deserve Nanami.2.I know it a simple ending but I wanted to show Nanami was healing in his own pace but the journey is long to recovery. Mama always want to do better and their kids are the hope to move forward.
3. I felt like Gojo didn't deserve screen time because this was Nanami's journey.
4. This story took was emotional roller coaster for me. I didn't know I could write toxic (sad personal experience),
5. Part of me wants to make a sequel but I will first take a break from this emotional fic for awhile. And think on it...
6. Taylor Swift song : Archer
Is How I got the title because of the melody of song and some part of the lyric.
Thank you so much again everyone!
