Pokemon Legends: Ash Ketchum Style!

Summary:

This didn't even take the top ten, weirdest thing to happen to Ash. A lot, just happened at once.
Ending up in Hisui, with a new body, that looked like Dawns, and now, he is a she. Also, why does everyone keep giving her and Pikachu odd looks?

Chapter 1: Good morning, you're going to die!

Chapter Text

Ash Ketchum.

A name, that a few might know. And those that don't, quickly learn.

A boy, with a knack for getting into trouble. He's met every legendary, and Mythical, Pokemon, even God, before.

And, his main Pokemon, his Ace. Was a Pikachu. A Pokemon, that was faster than a few Legendries. A Pokemon, that's taken down Legendries. Able to shock Ground Types.

Also, the two, were inseparable. Never seen without the other, close to them.

And, they just fell, into a black void.

"Ok, this is... Kinda normal, and a bit... Basic, compared to everything else." Ash muttered, looking at the black void, then at his Partner.

"Pikapi. Please. Pay attention." Pikachu chided, and Ash was face to... Snout? Face? Muzzle? With the white and Gold Llama, Arceus.

"Well, I'll take that in stride." A clearly female voice rang out, to the two. Ash just chuckled.

"Uh, sorry. Thought... Thought you were another, Arceus." He said, because, there must be more than one.

"Oh, you must mean... Xem. The Pretentious, Prat. Please. I'm not Xem. Xey, are a bastard." She said, with a sigh.

"Oh, sorry?"

"Do not worry. I am here, for a little... Favour? I'm asking. You can say no."

"I'll do it."

"I didn't Eve-"

"You asked. Something, most other Legendary's don't do. I'm cool, with doing what ever it is. Unless it's being the original mother, to everything. In which case, not a chance in... Every world." Ash said, with a sigh.

"... I'm worried, about what you've had to do. Anyway~ No. I'm just wanting you to help create the original Pokedex, as you have a better grasp, than what ever Champion, my brother, would chose. So... Um... Thanks? I'll give you a little boon. I know you can understand Pokemon already, so like... I don't know, a Phone? And it's a special one? I really... You kinda make it a bit hard, to give you boons. Hope that's the only reason why others haven't given you gifts yet." She said, and Ash was confused.

Why would they give him gifts?

"So, anything else?" He asked. "I don't really mind, if you send me back, but like... Anything else, I need to worry about? Like, Timeline screw ups?" He asked.

"Oh, no. You don't have to worry about that! The reason why, the History is so scattered, and unreadable, is because we need to keep it changing. So, if we do send someone back there, that wasn't the original target, we don't have to rewrite things, which... It's a pain in the ass to do, so we keep if vague."

"Didn't know you guys... Talked, like this. Or swear." Ash muttered, While Pikachu, was mostly silent.

"You know, a lot of people, after finding out our typing, make jokes on us, being afraid of Fighting Types, but... We have many a move, to take them out, before that. We, fear Pikachu, and you, more than any other Pokemon and trainer." She said, with a slight hint of pride.

"You... Are the one, that watches over me." Ash said, with wide eyes.

"Well, of course! How else would you be able to survive everything. Sadly, I try to steer you away, but... You, are you..." She trailed off then started speaking again.

"You ready, to start the first adventure?" He nodded. "Good. Have fun getting used to your new look!"

Wait. What!?

Lavender, was having a nice stroll, trying to recapture those misbehaving Pokemon.

And then the blue haired girl, fell from the sky.

"Ugh. Still better than the others." The Pikachu, that fell with her, seemed to agree. Which... What were they talking about?

"Ugh. Oh, this is... Ugh. You know, I'm not hating it." The girl muttered, in those odd clothes. A jacket, open over black shirt, that went to pants. You didn't see many girls or women in that sort of outfit. It was also, a bit form fitting.

He was an analyser, so you can't fault him for seeing it. Besides, he wasn't into romance. At all. Unless you count being an avid researcher, a love?

"Ok, let's... Hi!" She noticed him, and waved. On her belt, was a metal Pokeball, with a lightning symbol, and a weird metal device, that looked like a small square, but with glass in between red metal.

"Ok, let's... See where we are. Where are we?" She asked, looking around, a little dazed. "Wow. Haven't... Really felt this odd, since... Ever? It's weird." She muttered, and looked at Pikachu.

"Ok, slightly better. Where are we?" She asked, voice sounding more grounded. Lavender, just stared for a few seconds, before answering.

"Hisui..." She seemed to recognise the name.

"Never heard of it!" She said, with a big grin.

Lavender, had no idea what to make of them.

"I'm... Ash." She said, with a slight stutter, at the name. He wondered if she just thought of it, or if it had to take a second, to be remembered. Could be either. Or, maybe was worried a how he would react.

"Ah, I'm Professor Lavender. It's nice to meet you." He said, with a smile. She smiled right back.

"Yeah! Are you looking for something?" She asked, with a tilt of the head, and he nodded.

"Yes. My three Pokemon, ran off. I think they're all still together, and in one area. Could you please help? I would understand, if it was a bit much." He said, trying to make sure, she was ok with doing it.

"Eh, like Okasan always says. If at first you don't succeed. Try try again, and if that doesn't work, just burn it to Ash." She said, shrugging.

"..."

"Probably not the best advice, for catching Pokemon, but it works!" She said, with a nod, and a smile.

"Can't argue with that. There's a village, over this way, could you please bring them there, once you're done? I need to go tell the guards, to let you in, and talk to the Commander." He explained, hoping she doesn't think he's lazy.

"Oh, yeah! Sure... I... How am I supposed to catch them?" She looked in her pockets, and came out with nothing, but a a few metal spheres, like the one on her hip. Smaller, but same design.

"Oh, right. Here. Pokeballs. Don't use them all, they take a while to make." He said, with a grin. She smiled right back.

"Ok, time to do what we do best!" She cheered, and rushed towards the area the Pokemon would be in.

A few minutes, and he was at the gate, he was fast, as he wanted to talk to the captain, really fast.

"Ah, Samantha. Could you please let a girl in, blue hair, and wearing a weird blue jacket." He asked, and she nodded.

"She's catching some Pokemon for me." He explained, and Samantha, nodded. She then gestured for him to go.

"So, you found a child, that looks to be younger than everyone else here, and they maybe created a fake name, but promised to help catch your runaway Pokemon." Commander Cyllene asked, and Lavender nodded.

"Well, if they succeed, then I will give them a task to do, before I can let them in. Catching those Pokemon, would be no trouble." She said, and Lavender sighed.

"Either way, if they do not wish to join, we do have a spare place, for them to stay in." He noted that her face might not have changed, but her voice was a fraction softer. "How old are they?"

"I... They look at least, young to mid teens." He said, thinking on how they looked, compared to Akari. Smaller, and younger. But, seemed wiser, and more experienced. Weird.

"Right. Either they join, because they want to, or we give them a space to stay, because they are a child." She stated, and he nodded.

She was a bit of a softy, under that stone face.

"Teenager, but yes." He said, and she nodded.

"Very well, when they get here, I shall speak to them." He chuckled.

"I kinda may have sorta, told them to come here?" He said, and she sighed.

"We need, to talk about how to ask, before doing." She said, and he chuckled.

Ash, and Pikachi, were watching the three Pokemon.

"Oh, cool." He muttered, and looked at the Poke-ball's, he got. She's got?

"Pikachi, what do I call myself?" They asked their oldest friend.

"Pikapi. You, really, need my help? You, are Pikapi, to me. And that's all I care about. Or, are you meaning, about your new looks? Cause you might look like you, but you're also different. Your eyes, are normal, and voice is slightly more like Cynthia's." The small mouse explained.

"Right... I'm not Ash Ketchum. I'm... Ashly, Ketchum." She said, looking at the other Pokemon.

"You got that right, Pikapi!"  She cried, and the three, looked their way.

"Umm. Hi?" Ashly said, with a small wave, and bashful smile.

"Oh, hi!" Rowlet, spoke up. And flew over to them. "I know you can't understand me, but can I have a berry?"

"Hey, Glutton mouth, I wouldn't be so trusting!" The Oshawott, yelled, his voice, caring over to the grass and flying type.

"Oh, hush. She's being polite." Cyndaquil said, her voice, softer, and more polite.

"I'm just saying, that the Professor guy, might have sent her."

"And the Pikachu, that seems absolutely, fine, with them is..."

"I'm Pikachi. Pikapi, is a good person. Ok?" Ashly giggled.

"Thanks, Pikachi. Now, Professor, Lavender? Sent me to get you guys back, so I would be allowed to stay at the village. I'm going to ask nicely, and also, yes Rowlet, I can get you a berry." The cry of joy from hen, was worth revealing that little tid-bit.

The sow, had wide eyes, and look at the Otter.

"Ok, so that just happened."

"Hey, maybe they're an illusion Pokemon? Would work? I mean, they look a little too similar, to a Human from that settlement." Ashly was getting a slight headache, from all the talking.

"Ok, not used to listening to so many, at once. How about we get back, and I'll get you all, some food?" She asked, and all four Pokemon, nodded.

"Glutton." She giggled at her oldest friend.

"You try and stop me, I will thunderbolt you."

"I didn't say no."

Akari, watched the gate, and saw an almost perfect copy of herself, walk into the settlement.

"Look, All I'm saying is, is if you want to, I don't see a reason why, an Oshawot, wouldn't be able to learn Flame Slash. You can learn Scalod Chop, an almost exclusive move, so why not?"

She felt the headache form, within seconds. The voice, was a dead give-away. Oddly, as were the eyes. A grey, compared to her deep dark blue. The hair, was a light brown, almost blonde.

She wondered, if she had found a long lost sister, or something. They were way, too similar.

"Oh, hi!" The girl said to Samantha, who just stared. She might not be able to talk, but her own way of, speaking, was unique.

"Oh, Sign language? Can you hear me, or should I just sign?" She heard, and watched the hands move, a little slower than the voice.

The absolute delight, on Samantha's face, was astounding. She couldn't read the hands, from this far, and she wasn't the best, but Akari, knew that it was an excited kind of speech.

"Oh, so I can talk, ok then. Yeah, I'm the person Lavender said to let in, thanks!" The girl said, and walked in, after saying bye, to Samantha.

Akari, decided to talk to them, because... Them.

"So, who are you?" She asked, and the girl giggled.

"I'm Ashly, nice to meet ya... You look like Dawn." She said, face going in closer.

"Who?"

"THe girl with a Piplup." Ash said, and sat down. Gonna be a long conversation.

Chapter 2: Day 1: Gotta catch 'em

Chapter Text

Ashley walked the street towards the wilds in her new outfit. She actually likes it. It was comfey, and didn't feel like the normal clothes she usually wore. Akari was beside her.

"So, what's this test thingy?" Ashley asked.

"You need to catch a Bidoof, a Starly and a Shinx." Akari explained. Ashley and Pikachu exchanged esasperated looks.

"Well, that'll be fine." Ash noted, and grabbed three balls from the pouch she was given, and hid in the grass, making her way over to a Bidoof that was sniffing at some grass. A gentle toss, and it was in the ball, and it shook a few times before steam popped out the top in a star shape.

"That's the first." Ashley noted. She felt Pikachu nuzzled against her cheek.

"geeze, how come you're Pikachu is so friendly?" Akari asked. "Mine... He just hates me." She sighed sadly.

"So did Pikachi." Ashley admitted. "She tried to shock me so much when we first met... But, we bonded. We learned to trust and care, and love each other. We're sisters, that's all that's to it. Bonded through battle, and through trust."

"..." Akari looked down at her Pikachu, and smiled sadly. "I don't think he likes me that much."

"Yeah?" Ashley held her hand over the Pikachu, and felt a bunch of storming lightning coil and almost tingle her hand. "He's overcharged. Pikachi gets like that sometimes. Ok, Pikachu, Pikachi, Use thunderbolt!" Ashley grinned, pointing at a rock. Pikachi fired off first, while Pikachu fired second, and a lot more power was drawn from Pikachu, instead of Pikachi.

"There we go!" Ashley grinned. "He should be a bit calmer. It doesn't matter if you don't like to battle, letting an Electric Type use their lightning is always better than keeping it in."

"Oh, I uh... didn't know that." Akari admitted. "... You're good with pokemon. I'm just... Not."

"You'll get there. After all, I didn't even know bugs were weak to flying types when I first started." Ashley admitted with a giggle. "I sent a Caterpie against a Pidgeotto." Akari gasped. "Yep, Pikachi had to bail me out or I'd lose my first ever caught Pokemon."

Pikachi gave a soft coo.

"... Ashley, what kind of place is it, where you're from?" Akari asked.

"..." Ashley looked up at the sky, and closed her eyes. "... A place where I can't call any place but one, home."

Ash wasn't a normal kid. He knew this from when he was young. He preferred to hang out with Pokemon, instead of other humans.

And then Misty came along.

Oh, how he and Pikachi hated her. Sure, they warmed up to her later, but... At the start? It was strained. And then Caterpie came in, and then Pidgeotto.

And then it got to Brock's Gym. Heh, not realising the deadbeat was in town? Don't blame Ash, blame Brock. The dude had TALKED to Flint multiple times. But how was Ash supposed to know?

That was a question he asked himself a lot. "How was I supposed to know?" It matched a lot of what went on. Sabrina, Serge, Erika, and so much more.

And then the Orange Islands. There he was ok. There, he was at his best. Then Johto...

Crap, Johto. That was probably where his aversion to taking in old Pokemon to the next region comes from. Casey... That Dang Chikorita... Why would a new trainer try and fight a CHARIZARD WITH A PURE GRASS TYPE!?

Urgh.

Anyway, Johto was... Fine. Just... Fine. He didn't really have fun, or didn't have fun...

Hoenn was pretty nice. May was fun to be around, and Max... Despite being grating sometimes, was pretty nice.

Sinnoh... He... He found the one person... The ONE PERSON that let him act how he wanted, and didn't judge him.

He... He's just tired after that.

Unova was meant to be the break.

It was not a break.

Kalos! Nothing bad happens in Kalos!

JESUS HELL WHAT HAPPENED THERE!?

Alola! Alola! Go to Alola!

HE WON! He had a normal life! He went to school! He... He... He found a second family! He... He loves it.

And then Professor Ceries, and the Championship. And... Chloe~

Oh, uhm... Ash would cough if he needed to.

He... He wasn't sure if he had fun or not over these past few months or not. Chloe... Was probably the only good part, other than seeing Cynthia again. And a few of his old friends.

Ashley shook her head as she brought herself back to the present. "Sorry, didn't mean to get like that. Starly next, right?" She asked Akari, who nodded with a patient look.

"Yep. They're pretty docile too." Akari said with a smile. Ashley shook her head, and kept silent as she moved towards a simple Starly, and plucked a ball from her belt. She moved behind a tree, and tossed an Oran berry that had been on the ground. The Starly ate it, and Ashley lightly tossed the ball, capturing it.

"Wow, you're a natural." Akari smiled brightly. It was cute, but it wasn't Chloe's. Ashley then turned away before she blushed. Christ, where did that thought come from?

"Thanks." Ashley smiled. "Be nice to have a full team again." She placed the second Pokeball on her belt, while she handed the Bidoof to Akari.

"Uh, ok?" Akari shrugged. "Don't want the Bidoof?"

"Nah, he's a bit of an easier Pokemon to train, so good for first timers, and he's better at Physicals, unlike your Pikachu." Ashley explained.

"Huh." Akari looked at the Pokeball. "Sounds... Nice." She then watched as Pikachu(Ashley's), talked to a Shinx, and Ash caught the little critter.

"Welcome to the team bud." Ashley whispered, and placed the ball on her belt. Akari tilted her head.

"I know you have Pikachu, but... I thought she was wild, due to you not putting her into a ball." Akari said confused. "But from what you said to Shinx... You've had more than just Pikachu?"

"Yeah, Pikachi." Nickname, ok. "Is the best Pokemon I could ever ask for. She's been with me for a while. She was my starter." Ashley smiled, tilting her head. "Maybe instead of fearing Pokemon, you should learn how to work with them. Bidoof here can break rocks with his teeth, which can help with tools, or breaking large wood into firewood, not as great as a few other Pokemon with Slash though."

"Oh." Akari blinked. "If I get Pokemon, I don't need to fight?"

"Nope. I know plenty of people that don't like to fight with their Pokemon... A few took that idea too far. A lot of people, took thing sin the wrong way. A few places popped up that aren't... The best." Ashley shivered. Pikachi doing the same. "It's... a long story, Akari."

Akari nodded. Maybe she came across those things when travelling around Kanto with Dawn.

"So, you've now got three Pokemon, and I've got the Bidoof. We should get back to the professor and tell him what we've found out." Ashley nodded to Akari's request. "Hey, Ashley. You're ok, right?"

"As ok as I've ever been." Ashley muttered, causing Pikachi to look at her worried.

Bidoof:

The Plump Mouse Pokemon

Type: Normal (Originally thought to be Water)

Height: 0.5m-1.5m

Weight: 20kh-40kg

Abilities: Apparently according to Ashley, Pokemon can have more than 1 Ability, but not all. This is a viable explanation as to why the three Zubat we have on hand, two are unable to flinch (We assumed it was due to training), and the last can find weak-points in a barrier.

Simple - From what Ashley has told me, Simple allows for all stat changes in a Pokemon to double. Good when it's a boost, bad when it's a decrease.

Unaware - Seems to ignore stat changes in the opposing Pokemon. Useful when the defence is buffed, not so much when the attack is decreased.

Moody - Random stats may change at different times. It also makes the Pokemon harder to train, and it's personality may change from day to day. Ashley has informed me that another stat will go down when one goes up. We have yet to find out if the same stat can be buffed and de-buffed at the same time as of yet.

We have yet to find many jobs for the Bidoof, but Akari has taken to helping 'find' rocks that are perfect for tools, and Bidoof's teeth always looks a bit shorter and healthier afterwards. I'm just glad she's finding a joy in Pokemon.

Pikachu:

The Mouse Pokemon

Height: 0.4m-1.0m

Weight: 6kg-10kg

Abilities:

According to Ashley, sometimes an Electric Type has the Ability Lightning Rod, rather than being a lightning rod in the other sense. Not all Electric types can absorb the attacks from other electric pokemon, and others can.

Lightning Rod - Turn the opposing Pokemon's electric based attacks into pure energy, boosting the defending Pokemon's Sp Atk.

Static - According to Ashley, this is the normal ability for a Pikachu, and is the reason why most people are afraid to touch them. Static can paralyse on any physical contact. All Electric Types are immune to paralysis, even from a 'mean glare' apparently. Whatever that attack is.

According to Ashley, her Pikachu, Pikachi, is a special Pikachu as she has as much Electricity in a single Thunderbolt that an Electivire has in it's entire body. Pikachi is also the fastest Pokemon we have ever seen, even able to outrun Ponyta, and the Alpha Ponyta that's in the fields. According to Ashley, she can keep up with her Pokemon.

I wonder if either of them are mortal.

Cyllene sighed as she read the reports.

"You're quite trusting on Ashley's words there, Professor." She said sternly.

"She knows what she's talking about, from a hands-on approach. I doubt I could get so clear answers otherwise." Lavender said excited. "And seeing that PIkachu fight, it's quite the show!"

"Oh?" Cyllene raised an eyebrow. "How so?"

"She's so fast, and is able to react to anything another Pokemon in the field can do. Her Thundershock is enough to send a lot of Pokemon running if any trouble comes up."

"Hmm..." Cyllene nodded. "I suppose that Ashley does not wish to be part of our guard?"

"No, she said she'd rather research the Pokemon, not just fight." Lavender said gently. "... I think she's had a rough life. She keeps mentioning things, and not explaining. Case in point, 'Ghastly are more likely to pull a prank, but not realise it's fatal to something still living. I still have the backscars.'" Lavender quoted the girl.

"Correct." Cyllene nodded. "... Very well, you may keep your researcher, but should the time come, I may require her aid."

"It is understood." Lavender nodded. "... She caught Pokemon by talking to them, or having her Pikachu talk to them. She's... Not a normal person."

"She's from the sky as you said, and we are lucky we have kept that fact hidden for so long." Cyllene said in a hushed voice. "We know she says she's from Kanto, and it seems to trace her story quite well, but from what I've heard, they didn't even know what a Fairy Type was, and Strong and Fast Styles are still a mystery for her."

"Correct." Lavender nodded. "I'll ask her to do some quests that townsfolk have put up, that should give her some money, as well as give her incentive to talk to humans."

"See it through." Cyllene nodded.

"Softy." Lavender smiled with a teasing glint in his eyes.

"I'm still your boss.' Cyllene relplied. "I can dock your pay."

"Oh no, how awful." Lavender sighed. "no more lab-coats." Cyllene rolled her eyes.

"Out of my office, Lavender." She said, but there was no bite to her voice. "And make sure Ashley gets some sleep."
