Chapter 1: Chapter One
Chapter Text
There were little to no monster attacks as just about all of the more intelligent monsters were afraid to cross paths with the likes of Percy Jackson. The smaller less intelligent monsters came around but not very often and were easily dealt with. The camps were connected through a portal of sorts so there was no reason to cross the country just to see your friends on the other side. Leo had come back with Calypso finally freeing her from her island prison. For the first time everything and everyone was finally at peace.
Percy had left camp for a few months to go on a trip with his mom and Paul, Annabeth tagging along as well. They took a nice trip around Europe not only to revel in the fact that Percy and Annabeth were still alive but also Sally finally publishing her book. A book of Greek myths. They got constant calls from not only the rest of the Seven but Connor and Travis as well. They were updated on new campers, schedule changes, chore list, everything. Percy and Annabeth basically ran the camp, seeing as Dionysus was free of his punishment, so them being gone was close to chaos.
They had been updated about a new camper that the gods seemed to dote over. It was enraging all of the campers, especially the younger ones who were just finding out why their parents couldn't be around them. Apparently she was very full of herself and cried wolf whenever someone was better than her. Chiron of course didn't buy it but he could only be under the Gods fire so much before the possibility of him being dismissed again was introduced. So campers were punished left and right for just about anything. Nico, Reyna and even Clarisse soon started calling to complain about them, if Clarisse called them it had to be bad.
Naturally sensing the issue Annabeth and Percy cut their vacation short and ran back home. When they got back they saw the full extent of it. Nico was very close to dragging her into the underworld. Her name was Libby Ells; she was the daughter of Hermes and despite most of the gods claiming to love her, Hermes couldn't stand her; her attitude reminded a lot of people of Luke as he started to turn against them, charming but angry. She had already heard about the two of them but didn't realize it was them when they came back. She challenged Percy and cried wolf when she lost.
"Sorry but I'm not gonna punish myself."
She looked confused, "What does that even mean?"
"Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Percy Jackson. I basically run the place." Her face fell into one of horror and fury. She stomped out of the Arena. "That could have gone better," he muttered to himself.
Over the next few weeks he noticed little by little his friends started to drift. It wasn't a normal, 'we've grown apart' type drift either, it was much more sinister, its aura was dangerous and Percy could sense it. Annabeth was starting to realize too. It didn't make sense, none of it did. He had done everything right, he had done all he could to help people. The son of Hades understood how Percy felt being Isolated and stayed with him.
There were knocks on his door all day, but he Ignored them. Percy was studying hoping to get a somewhat good score in the new Rome college entrance exam. He was flashed to Olympus, where the rest of the campers, Roman and Greek, kneeled in front of the gods. It took him a minute to get his bearings and stand.
Younger campers whom he had trained had tears in their eyes, his friend glaring fiercely at the king of the gods, Annabeth was crying and looked like she wanted to scream but wouldn't or physically couldn't. Libby looked smug. Annabeth tore her self away from the crowd and stood next to him taking his hand
"Perseus Jackson You have been found Guilty of treason, being a spy for Gaea and threatening to take down Olympus."
Percy was almost stunned into silence, "What?" he whispered at first, "What the hell, How? Under what pretense!?" He shouted, any shreds of respect that were left for them were thrown out the window.
Zeus didn't explain himself, Percy analyzed the Olympian council and found allies. Hermes was beyond upset, Artemis and Apollo were sneering at their father, Hesita had a glare but looked close to breaking down, Hades gave him a pitying look and what surprised him most was Athena who while mostly indifferent seemed to throw a look of Understanding and pity Percy's way. "I am a god, I have my sources."
"Father," the young demigod tried.
He turned away but he could see his father didn't agree with the sentencing.
He turned to his friends, most of whom looked scared like they weren't allowed to talk, "Guys" they avoided their gaze. Grover had tears slipping down his cheeks. He opened his mouth but quickly snapped it shut. He tried to move forward but he couldn't. Nico managed to pull himself away and so did Will. They both put their hands on Percy's shoulders letting him know that they stood with him.
"For this you are sentenced to death, Any last words?" the king summoned his master bolt.
Percy was forced to his knees by an invisible force, "Luke was right."
"So you admit to treason!" Ares raged earring a glare from his daughter.
Percy shot one of his own back at him, the lazy river that once laid within gone, broken and beat by Tartarus it was now a raging storm, a tsunami. It was enough to make even Hades tremble, "I never stood on the side of the gods, I stood on the side of Humanity. And even in death I will continue to stand on the side of Humanity, I stand for Hades kingdom need not grow faster, and Humans need not die by interference of a world they cannot see." He was given no reply, all he saw was Zues face enraged. Annabeth knew fighting was futile, Percy had fallen into Tartarus for her, if he was going, she wanted to go with him. But it was too late and all her, Nico and Will could do was watch in horror as Zues fired on Percy.

Chapter 2: Chapter Two
Chapter Text
It was the most intense pain he had ever felt then a numb sensation fell on the two. Percy felt like he was floating for hours. When he opened his eyes there was a Woman standing over him, she had cinnamon brown hair and gold eyes that looked like galaxies were inside, "good you're up."
"Hazel?" He asked as he sat up and looked around, He didn't trust anything around him, He couldn't recognize anything. She let out a light laugh, "Not exactly, I chose this form because it is familiar and does not invoke any bad memories, well nothing too bad. Seemed to care for her deeply." She waved it off, "You're on my secluded planet. I'm Chaos the creator of well everything, there's Order too they'll be here in a moment.
"Anyway," she waved her hands, helping the Demigod to his feet. She was short but her Aura was powerful. "Me and Order want to give you another chance at life, but not on earth, and you will not be reborn. Basically We'll give you our blessings. And let you off into space to do as you see fit. Collect bounties, steal, murder," She suggested with a giggle.
"You see," A boy walked in. A pale boy rather short with messy black hair and dark brown eyes.
"Nico?" Percy gawked, this was weird.
He chuckled and shook his finger in a very un-Nico like sense of humor. "Order," He gave the young heroes a bow. "As I was saying, balance must be kept and while me and Chaos are all powerful, things sometimes fall out of place. While you are out gallivanting around the universe and enjoying your second chance the instincts given to you by these powers will draw you places and you will know and create the steps to regain mortal balance," he smiled. "Do as you see fit you are no longer bound by the fates of earth you set your own path. I don't think a great hero should be so disrespected. Wouldn't you agree, Chaos?"
"You are very right brother," Chaos turned back to the two Demigods. "Do you accept?"
Percy really didn't want to but what other choice did he have, go back to earth and fall into the fields of punishment? "I accept," he answered.
The woman smiled and clapped, "Good, now this may hurt." there was a galaxy-colored orb in her hand. And a white one in Orders. It did hurt, it hurt a lot, It felt worse than Styx. So naturally he passed out.
When he woke up trained for a while and he was let loose on the universe. Let out to do whatever he pleases.
~~~
Percy's version of do as you pleased happened to be collecting bounties for criminals, dropping them on the steps of the Nova Corp center or whoever wanted them. Occasionally he would go about stealing the legendary artifact and selling them for an insane number of units, the universal currency. He had a lot of bounties and a long list of crimes. No one could catch him though he was like a storm uncontainable, he could lay siege to a world, and no one wanted to invoke that kind of anger.
He also spent a good amount of time killing murderers and warlords. Occasionally babysitting Kylosians children before the genocide of their people, something Percy almost died trying to stop, and running from Ronan the Accuser a Kree that very much wanted a threat like Percy dead.
Percy was flipping through recent files with a drink in hand sitting on the edge of a fountain on Xandar. He had lived here for a while now, creating a comfortable life for himself. He scrolled through his tablet looking for bounties to pass the time. He was incredibly bored sitting around. He passed a few ravager ones that weren't worth it as they had their own bounty on Percy.
"Xandarians. What a bunch of losers. All of them in a big hurry to get from something stupid, to nothing at all. Pathetic." He heard someone say, he turned letting his eyes widen as he saw a walking talking raccoon and a giant humanoid tree. Of all the things Percy had seen over the years this was a new one. "Look at this guy! Can you believe they call us criminals, when he's assaulting us with that haircut?" he said, scanning his ID pad over a blond man with a really dumb haircut. Next, he ran it over a small Xandarian child who needed help walking, "What is this thing? Look how it thinks it's so cool. It's not cool to get help! Walk by yourself, you little gargoyle." Then an old man and pretty woman, "look at Mr. Smiles over here. Where's your wife, old man? What a class-A prevert." he laughed "Right, Groot? Groot?"
"If you're talking about the tree man, he's drinking from the fountain," Percy said, finishing his drink and standing up stretching his legs out.
The raccoon looked over at the tree, "don't drink fountain water, you idiot. That's disgusting!" Groot apparently shook his head.
"Yes, you did. I just saw you doing it. Why you lying?"
"You're funny. You also oddly enough look like an animal on Terra."
"You've been to Terra," he asked, almost impressed very few came back from there.
Percy snorted, "I'm from Terra, Names Percy, Percy Jackson."
The Raccoon froze in complete and utter shock, "The Nova Storm" he whispered.
"Is that what they call me now,'' Percy asked with a laugh, "I've had a lot of names over the years. That one's new though I like it. Yes, I have a ravager's bounty on my head." He said pushing the raccoon's ID pad down, "Trust me I'm not with the money. Ronan can't even catch me." Rocket has heard the stories of the Nova Storm. He laid waste to worlds that threatened war, he decimated army's single handedly, the only man Thanos ever feared. He looked like a scrawny kid. He held out his hand to introduce himself.
Rocket looked at it for a moment then shook it, "I'm Rocket and that's Groot," both their ID pads beeped, and they looked them over, "Whoop. Looks like we got one. Okay, humie, how bad does someone want to find you?" They both zoom in on a man who looks Terran and a pink woman "Forty thousand units? Groot, we're gonna be rich," The racoon exclaims. Rockets look over to Groot and find him drinking from the water from the fountain again, he sighs and shakes his head.
Percy flicked his wrist and the fountain stopped flowing on Groot. And kept looking through his tablet, "this is worth a fight with the ravagers." He looked at the raccoon, "How bout we compromise, we work together you take $35,000, I got the other $5,000. Last run in with Ronan busted my ship so I've been stranded here awhile," he was honestly surprised Ronan hadn't found him yet.
Rocket agreed, it was a little too fast, so Percy read his mind on one of powers he got from Chaos, 'we'll take the chance to turn him over to the ravagers too.' That made much more sense, Rocket wanted him to catch Quill then turn on him and get double the money. Honestly Percy probably would have done the same. No matter he would just have to let Rocket know who he's dealing with, after he got his money of course.
He watched Quill get pushed out of the brokers shop, He enhanced his vision and saw the orb in Quill's hand. His eyes widened that was a powerful artifact. It was said the power within could kill everything in its path if it ever touched organic matter. 'That's not good, I should ask Order what to do with that.'
Suddenly the woman he was talking to grabs the orb, kicks Quill in his stomach and runs off. Quill throws a magnetic laser rope at her catching her around the legs and trips her up. As she kicks the rope off her legs Quill catches up to her, but she manages to kick him off and starts punching him. For what he was worth Quill was a good fighter catching her a few times. She straddles his chest and holds up her knife ready to stab him.
Percy raised his hand and the water from the fountain shot out throwing the woman out of the way. "Put him in the bag. Put him in the bag!" Rocket insisted to Groot who grew tendrils reaching for the woman. "No! Not her, him! Learn genders, man." The woman kicked Percy, landing him on his back. Quill uses the diversion to his advantage to run free.
"This is why I work alone," Percy groaned, getting to his feet and chasing after Quill. The woman who Percy would soon find out was named Gamora broke free of Groots tendrils and threw Rocket across the town square. She picked up her dagger and aimed for Quill, making him drop the orb.
The orb was worth more than the bounty. In the wrong hands it could unravel the universe. Percy was a being made to keep Balance not let it be destroyed. Percy jumped over the railing and grabbed it running off. He didn't have a ship but stealing one of the Nova Corp's to get back to the Void was pretty low on his list of offensives right now.
Gamora jumped over the railing and landed on top of him, knife drawn, "Give it up."
Percy smirked, "Giving up's not really my style hot stuff," he blinked and was back on his feet by the fountain waving at her. She looked absolutely baffled. A second later Percy was thrown in a sack by Groot, "we had a deal rat."
"You and that orb are worth way more than Quill," said man who shot the bag away from Groot giving Percy the opportunity to kick himself out at run again.
He shot Percy in the back electrocuting him the one thing Percy still couldn't take and sadly it wasn't because of his power it was because of Zues. Before Percy blacked out all he heard was "By the authority of the Nova Corps, you are under arrest."
"Of course."
Chapter 3: Chapter Three
Chapter Text
Percy had been arrested before, several times in fact. He was never there for more than a couple days. He could bet out of this place no problem. Gamora, Quill, Rocket Groot and himself got dragged off to the Saal and were currently getting processed, "Come on man I'm on your side I help you guys out."
"Be that as it may 'Nova Storm' you still have Numerous criminal activities stacked against you, theft, murder, genocide, torture, kidnapping, arson. Didn't you try to become an overlord at one point."
He laughed out loud, "yeah that was a fun day."
"It killed 50 members of the Lucidiana court,"
"50 assholes in the Lucidiana court, you weren't helping so I did," He was shoved forward waiting in line behind Quill.
"Lucidiana isn't in our Jurisdiction."
"Neither and I! I'm not a villain! I make balance."
Gamora scoffed, "You sound like Thanos."
"I've been trying to kill Thanos. All he cares about is his own delusions. What I do is more realistic. Whipping out the problem. I punish killers, war lords, monsters among monsters. Ronan is next."
Gamora looked back at him while she was pushed into the processing chamber. She had to admire his will. She had heard of The Nova Storm too, everyone had. She didn't smile but part of her wanted to. Any enemy of her father and Ronan was an ally of hers. "Gamora. Surgically modified and trained as a living weapon. The adopted daughter of the Mad Titan, Thanos. Recently, Thanos lent her and her sister Nebula out to Ronan, which leads us to believe that Thanos and Ronan are working together." Percy sneered he had been trying to kill Thanos for years, but he kept getting sidetracked by Ronan Knowing they were working together made a lot more sense and somehow pissed him off more.
Next was Rocket, "Subject 89P13. Calls itself Rocket. The result of illegal genetic and cybernetic experiments on a lower life form," he spit on the floor.
Then Groot, "They call it Groot. A humanoid plant that's been traveling recently as 89P13's personal house plant slash muscle."
Quill, "Peter Jason Quill, from Terra. Raised from youth by a band of mercenaries called the Ravagers, led by Yondu Udonta"
Quill winds up his middle finger and flips the bird at them "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know how this machine worked." He acted sincere.
Lastly was Percy who stepped in and awaited their Confused expressions, "Percy Rigel Jackson, more commonly known as the Nova Storm. Mostly Terran but there's some genetic mutation that can't be pinpointed that lead to his unusual powers. The way it seems he's only in Prison as long as he wants to be," Percy gave a lazy grin and pointed finger guns at him.
The five of them are taken to the Kyln, High Security Prison. One of the highest security prisons in the galaxy. No matter for Percy. "I guess most of the Nova Corps wanna uphold the laws," Rocket started, "but these ones here, they're corrupt and cruel. But, hey, that's not my problem. I ain't gonna be here long. I've escaped 22 prisons, this one's no different. You're lucky the broad showed up, because otherwise, me and Groot would be collecting that bounty right now, and you'd be getting drawn and quartered by Yondu and those Ravagers."
"I've had a lot of folks try to kill me over the years. I ain't about to be brought down by a tree and a talking raccoon."
Percy hit himself in the head with the cuffs, "That orb is crazy dangerous, I need to get it to the void" He mumbled. "I can't waste time on a life sentence with these guys seriously. I'm not sitting here for 80, 100, 120, however long you guys decided a life sentence is. I need to get the orb far away. I think you're all taking my little overlord joke way too seriously. I only killed people who deserved it."
"Be that as it may, it's still murder, you could kill one murderer but there will still be the same number in the Universe."
"Yeah well, I've killed hundreds of murderers. Asshole," He growled to himself. "I wasn't given a second chance at life to be imprisoned with these dicks for the next century," he turned his back to them and listened to Quill question Gamora.
Maybe he could find out what Ronan was planning. "So, this orb has a real shiny blue suitcase, Ark of the Covenant, Maltese Falcon sort of vibe. What is it?"
"I am Groot."
"So what?" He turned back to Gamora. "What's the Orb?"
Gamora didn't give a damn "I have no words for an honorless thief."
"Pretty high and mighty coming from the lackey of a genocidal maniac." Gamora looked at Rocket. "Yeah, I know who you are. Anyone who's anyone knows who you are." He turned to Percy, "Just like you." he jerked his head effectively, flipping his hair over his eyes.
"Yeah, we know who you are." Quill obviously faked his confidence before turning to Groot and whispering, "Who are they?"
"I am Groot."
"Yeah, you said that."
"I wasn't retrieving the orb for Ronan, I was betraying him. I had an agreement to sell it to a third party."
"I am Groot."
Percy was thoroughly annoyed, "Well, that's just as fascinating as the first 89 times you said that. What the Hell is wrong with Giving Tree, here?"
"Well, he don't know talking good like me and you. So, his vocabulistics is limited to "I" and "am" and "Groot". Exclusively in that order."
Quill added as annoyed as Percy, "I tell you what, that's gonna wear really thin, real fast."
Quill notices a prison guard with his Walkman headphones, putting them on "Hey. Put that away," he walks inside the room towards the Guard right before the door closed "Hey! Listen to me you big blue bastard, take those headphones off, that's mine." He did as ask for now. "Those belong to impound, that tape and that player is mine!"
The guard stuns Quill with a taser baton that makes Percy start shaking. "Hooked on a Feeling, Blue Swede, 1973, that song belongs to me!" The guard stuns him repeatedly. It seemed like it was just for fun at this point.
The five are decontaminated and sent to put on prison jumpsuits well Quill Rocket, Percy and Gamora were, Groot was too big for a jumpsuit. Percy walked in and Quill noticed his Multiple tattoos from different planets and scars layered on top of each other. It was pretty clear that some of the scars were from when he was just a child, but the thing that got to Quill most was the giant lightning strikes scar across his chest.
Percy walked out ahead of him and saw the guards pull him off to the side and a power dampener got roughly smacked on his neck. He growled and lunged at the guard only to be tased making him cower back a bit.
The five were then led to what Percy could only compare to a mix of a cafeteria and courtyard.
Shouts surround them, prisoners screaming insults like 'murderer' and 'scum' at Gamora "It's like I said, she's got a rep." Rocket said, "A lot of prisoners here have lost their families to Ronan and his goons. She'll last a day, tops." He turns to Percy "Him on the other hand."
A few teary-eyed prisoners hugged Percy who awkwardly accepted it "he's saved planets, killed murderers and stopped wars."
"The guards will protect her, right?" Quill said referring to Gamora.
"They're here to stop us from getting out." Percy said from where he calmed down a mother, "They don't care what we do to each other inside."
"Whatever nightmares the future holds, are dreams compared to what's behind me." She announced despite getting hit with anything and everything the other prisoners could get they could get their hands on. Despite the threats being screamed at her and despite the possibility of death.
Percy chuckled darkly, "I get that, I get that alot,"
"Check out the new meat." Some Guy stepped up in front of Percy and Quill. "I'm gonna slather you both up in Gunavian jelly, and go to town..."
Percy fell to the floor sweeping his legs out from under him. Grabbed his arm and yanked it back out of his socket, "Listen here! I've fought much worse and much bigger, you touch me or my bounty and well." he yanked the arm again, breaking it in two. "Your arm won't be the only thing I break."
He walked off to his cell, Quill pointed at the disappearing demigod, "I'm with him."
Percy was given a high security secluded cell due to how dangerous he was. He laid back, deciding to get some rest before he decided to teleport back home so he could talk with Chaos about the orb before continuing to keep balance in the universe. He heard a tap on his cell door and saw Quill through the glass.
Percy tilted his head in question but decided to just teleport out of the cell door. Quill jumped, "I thought you had a power dampener on."
The young man pointed to it. "I do, but they can't control my powers. They're a little more advanced than Nova Corps tech." Quill looked ready to ask another question, Percy could guess what it was. "What do you want, Quill?"
Quill snapped back to reality, "I saw some guys drag Gamora away holding a knife to her neck and I figured you're the type of person to get before they kill her, they might listen to you."
Percy huffed but took off down the hall, "You dare?" He heard a voice shout "You know who I am, yes?"
Him and Quill were crouched near a wall readying to intervene. "You're Drax. The Destroyer."
"Quill!" Percy looked around and saw Rocket run up to them.
"And you know why they call me this."
The shaking prisoner answered, "You've slayed dozens of Ronan's minions."
"Ronan murdered my wife, Ovette," Drax said, walking up to Gamora "and my daughter, Camaria. He slaughtered them where they stood. And he laughed!" He yelled in one's face making them flinch back. "Her life is not yours to take. He killed my family. I shall kill one of his in return."
"Of course, Drax. Here," He fearfully handed Drax his knife only for Gamora to knock the two holding her out. She took their knives holding them to the neck of Drax and the prisoner that dragged her down here.
"Quill! What are you doing?" Rocket tried to grab Quill back only for him to wave the racoon off and inch forward. Percy was still leaning on the wall wanting to see where this went.
"I'm no family to Ronan or Thanos," she inched back and dropped her knives, "I'm your only hope at stopping him."
Drax screamed and pinned her by the neck to the wall "Woman, your words mean nothing to me!"
"Hey! Hey, hey, hey! Hey!" Quill ran forward, Percy leisurely walked, When Quill got himself into a fight Percy could drag Gamora back to her cell and stop Drax from killing Quill as well. "You know, if killing Ronan is truly your sole purpose, I don't think this is the best way to go about it.
"Are you not one of the men this wench attempted to kill?"
Percy chuckled "Well, I mean, she's hardly the first woman to try and do that, to me at least," Percy had Babysat Camaria for Drax and Ovette years ago. She was a sweet little girl who held so much promise and had a bright future. Percy had begged Chaos to return her to Drax. Sadly, she could not. "You know that well old friend."
"Hello Jackson," He nodded apprehensive. Percy and Drax had been close but after the massacre they lost touch.
"Hey man. Let the girl go. She didn't kill Camaria or Ovette, and you know I would kill her in an instant if she deserved it."
Quill tried his hand at saving Gamora again, "She betrayed Ronan. He's back for her. And when he does, that's when you..." He dragged a finger across his throat.
But of course, Drax being Kylosian didn't get the metaphor, "Why I put my finger on his throat?"
"What? No, it's a symbol. This is a symbol for you slicing his throat."
"I would not slice his throat. I would cut his head clean off."
"It's a general expression for you killing somebody buddy," Percy nodded.
Quill turned to the other prisoner, "You've heard of this. You've seen this, right? You know what that is."
"Yeah. Yeah."
"Everyone knows."
"No, no."
Quill rolled his eyes "What I'm saying is, you want to keep her alive. Don't do his work for him."
After a moment Drax let Gamora fall to her knees coughing "I like your knife. I'm keeping it." He said simply walking out.
"That was my favorite knife."
Chapter 4: Chapter Four
Chapter Text
"Listen! I couldn't care less whether you live or whether you die." Quill Claimed.
"Then why stop the big guy?" Gamora snapped.
"Simple really." Percy said, "He wants to sell the Orb. You know where to do so." Percy had no plans on letting that happen, but they didn't know that. "As for me, well that Orb is dangerous. Letting it loose will destroy the balance of the universe. And seeing as it's my job to keep that, I can't let Ronan or Thanos get their hands on it. I just want to know why you want it." It was clear that Gamora had more than a few reservations about her adoptive father in fact it seemed like she absolutely hated him. That could work in Percy's favor.
Gamora chose not to acknowledge Percy's statement for the time being. "How are we gonna sell it when we and it are still here?"
Quill smirked "My friend Rocket, here, has escaped 22 prisons. And surely, you've heard of the elusive Nova Storm, Jackson here has never met a prison strong enough to hold him."
Gamora side eyes them both "We're getting out. And then we're headed straight to Yondu to retrieve your bounty, the both of you." Rocket threatened Quill and Percy.
Percy waved him off and ripped the power dampener off leaving behind a bloody mess, "Ugh I hate these things." He groaned, rubbing his neck where the collar was attached and immediately the blood and wounds were gone. The other three looked at him like he was insane. Power dampeners were incredibly hard to come by and 100% fool proof. The fact that this average looking twenty something year old was able to just rip it from his neck pulling flesh off along with it and just complain was quite disturbing. "I'm only still in here cause I'm tired as hell. I was gonna come back for the orb but if we can get to it without the detour why the hell not."
"How much was your buyer willing to pay you for my Orb?" Quill asked, being sure to remind them who stole it.
After a moment of silence she answered, "five billion units."
"What?"
"Holy shit."
Percy let out a low whistle.
"That Orb is my opportunity to get away from Thanos and Ronan. If you free us, I'll lead you to the buyer directly and I'll split the profit between the four of us. Please." She knew she couldn't beat Percy even if she tried. His skills were talked about across the galaxy. Acts of Heroism and crimes alike were marveled at. Thanos himself praised Percy's ability to destroy ancient civilizations overnight. She just needed to hope he would allow her to sell the damn thing.
The young man sighed and roughly ran his hand across his face. He didn't pay for anything; he didn't need to. Depending on the planet people just gave him stuff in an effort not to be killed. On other planets like Xandar, well after his time at camp he was used to living on the streets. At least this time around he could sleep in his ship. When he crashed the ship was totaled and he used the remains to make his own little hideout. Though Percy didn't have to pay for anything anymore he remembered the struggle of having no money, and he remembered being willing to pay anything to escape his role as a hero. Gamora was really no different; she wanted to escape Thanos, escape her role as an assassin. He groaned, "dammit I hate when people make me sentimental. The last time I cared it got me killed." He grumbled the end, concerning Gamora. "Fine, gah MaD is gonna kill me for this." He made sure his mind was blocked off, so she didn't hear him making this catastrophic deal. "Fine we'll sell the orb I'll see what my.... employer wants me to do from there." they didn't know who MaD was and considering they employed Percy they weren't sure they really wanted to.
"I am Groot," they all looked to the tree man who suddenly appeared.
"Five of us. Asleep for the danger, awake for the money, as per frickin' usual."
~~~
"If we're gonna get out of here, we're gonna need to get into that watchtower. And to do that, I'm gonna need a few things," Rocket explained during their designated lunch time. He looked at Percy, the unsaid statement was obvious, they all needed to get in, Percy couldn't just teleport in. The young man groaned but nodded all the same, "Do you always act like a child," The raccoon sneered.
He shrugged, "what do you want from me? I never got the chance to be one."
He rolled his eyes but continued all the same, "the guards wear security bands to control their ins and outs. I need one."
Percy nodded "I can do that."
A man walked past the group of five, "That dude, there. I need his prosthetic leg."
"His leg?" Quill asked, reasonably confused.
"Yeah. God knows I don't need the rest of him. Look at him, he's useless."
Quill shook his head confused but agreed all the same, "All right."
"And finally, on the wall back there is a black panel. Blinky yellow light. Do you see it?"
The three humanoids nodded, "Yeah."
"There's a quarnyx battery behind it. Purplish box, green wires. To get into that watchtower, I definitely need it."
"How are we supposed to do that?"
"Well, supposably, these bald-bodies find you attractive. So, maybe you could work out some sort of trade."
She gave him an accusatory look, "You must be joking."
"No, I really heard they find you attractive."
"Look, it's 20 feet up in the air, and it's in the middle of the most heavily-guarded part of the prison. It's impossible to get up there without being seen."
Percy looked forward and noticed Groot doing exactly what Rocket needed no problem. Maybe it was because he was already so tall that he wasn't seen. The only one that seemed to really care or notice, (Besides the guy Groot hit in the head with the panel) was Percy's old friend Drax.
"I got one plan, and that plan requires a frickin' quarnyx battery, so figure it out! Can I get back to it? Thanks. Now, this is important. Once the battery is removed, everything is gonna slam into emergency mode. Once we have it, we gotta move quickly, so you definitely need to get that last."
Percy opened his mouth to explain what Groot was doing only for the lights to go down as soon as he ripped it out, "Yea your tree was doing it already."
"Or we could just get it first and improvise," Rocket growled.
"Me and Gamora will get the armband."
"Leg," Quill nodded, getting up quickly.
Dones came flying down the hall towards Groot, encircling him. "Prisoner, drop the device immediately and retreat to your cell, or we will open fire," one of the guards said, talking through a mic.
Groot was getting angrier by the second, more twigs and branches sprouting around his back and shoulders. "I am Groot!"
"Fire!"
Immediately the drones open fire on Groot. He smacks one away making it whirl around uncontrollably, a shower of bullets flying everywhere. "All prisoners return to their sleeping areas."
Gamora and Percy ran down the walkway taking out guards as they went. Gamora somehow managed to clothesline one that looked like he weighed about twice what she did. Percy noticed one aim right for her he jumped off the wall and kicked the guy straight in the head making his gun slide away. Percy picked it up and grinned. He had no need for a gun but they were fun to use sometimes. Gamora took out two guys at once, she knocked out one and wrapped her leg around the other's arm. "I'll need this."
He smirked despite being at her mercy, "good luck. It's internally wired."
"Well then" Percy chuckled, "looks like we're bringing you with us," he shrugged. "At the least part of you." He nodded to the woman who broke the man's arm with just her leg, "Remind me never to get you mad. I think we're going to be very good friends."
She smirked at him, surprisingly she didn't hate the idea. The balance thing bothered her, it reminded her of Thanos, but the stories of Percy Rigel Jackson were very different from those of the mad titan Thanos. Percy wasn't killing meaninglessly; he was taking down actual threats. He was the first person to actually treat her as just that, a person. She had been traded and tortured her whole life, but here was this living legend and he was smiling at her, wanting to know her story, and help her get away from her father. She looked down at Percy as he grabbed the man's arm and ripped the band out flesh and mussel coming with it. He winced as his scream cut through them like nails on a chalkboard. Percy Picked up the gun and aimed effectively silencing him. "You're not too bad yourself," Percy grinned back at her. She reminded him a lot of Thalia, when they weren't trying to kill each other, that is, "Rocket!" he shouted.
The raccoon turned and dropped the gun that was about the size of his body. Percy practically launched It at him, thankfully he caught it no problem. "Move to the watchtower!"
Gamora walked back and jumped at the watch toward the bridge because she was enhanced to was really just like jumping over a crack for her. Percy just blinked and was next to you. She gave him a deadpanned look, "I can't teleport anyone with me," she shook her head and crouched down helping Rocket up who was climbing Groot.
Quill was next with the legs secure between his neck and chin. A done cornered him, before percy could even lift his arm Drax jumped and grabbed it. The bullets did nothing to him, and he seamlessly ripped it in half. "You! Man, who has lain with an Askavariian." Quill sighs and continues climbing, "It was one time, man." Percy shouldn't have been surprised when Drax climbed the tree man as well. He had a score to settle with Ronan and they had a way out.
"We need all available guards in full combat gear-" the guard stopped as an alarm went off. He turned, seeing the six were behind him. He held up his hands in surrender. Gamora simply moved him to the side, but Groot grabbed him with his growing tendrils and threw him from the tower and over the bridge.
Gamora looks at Drax and quickly does a double take, "spare me your foul gaze, woman."
"Why is this one here?"
"We promised him he could stay by your side until he kills your boss. I always keep my promises, when they're to muscle-bound whack-jobs who will kill me if I don't. Here you go," He dropped the leg in front of Rocket.
"Oh I was just kidding about the leg. I just need these two things," he was clearly on the brink of hysterical laughter.
Both Percy and Quill's eyes widened "What?"
"No, I thought it'd be funny. Was it funny? Wait, what did he look like hopping around?"
"I had to transfer him 30,000 units!"
Rocket just snickered, "How are we going to leave?" Drax askes as another drone comes up and shoots the window.
"Well, he's got a plan. Right? Or is that another thing you made up?" Quill snapped.
"I have a plan! I have a plan!"
"Cease your yammering and relieve us from this irksome confinement."
" Yeah, I'll have to agree with the walking thesaurus on that one."
He turned back to Drax who had a glare trained on the terran "Do not ever call me a thesaurus."
Quill nodded, "It's just a metaphor, dude."
Percy shook his head "Kylosians are literal. Metaphors are gonna go over his head. I jokingly once told Camaria to bite me, and she did. She was a strong kid," Percy smiled mournfully. He had saved a lot of planets, but he had failed to save a lot too. Kylosia was the one that hurt him the most though. After he was let loose on the universe he landed there. Drax and Ovette took him in while he was learning to grasp his abilities and gathered some money so he could buy his first ship before the legends of him spread. He only stayed for two years but he came back frequently to babysit. During those times Drax was like a brother, Ovette and sister and Camaria called him Uncle Percy. When Drax was left alone he cut all contact with Percy and got himself thrown in the Klyn.
Drax looked a little sad but kept much of it under wraps in an effort to show no weakness, "Nothing goes over my head. My reflexes are too fast. I would catch it."
"I'm gonna die surrounded by the biggest idiots in the galaxy," Gamora sighed.
Percy chuckled and reloaded the gun he had stolen, "Better than a boring death."
Fully armed guards ran down the hall aiming at the watchtower, "Those are some big guns."
One fired at the window cracking the glass, "Rodent, we are ready for your plan!" Gamora snapped,
"Hold on!" another fired next to Quill.
Percy handed him the gun, "In case we need to lay someone out, aim for the neck, It's the weak spot in their armor."
Rocket worked as fast as he could "I recognize this animal. We'd roast them over a flame pit as children. Their flesh was quite delicious."
"Not helping!" Rocket screamed.
And another fired by Gamora, this one not only cracked the glass but actually made a chip fall out. They were weakening the windows so they could all fire. A moment before the final fire everyone outside the watchtower was floating. "He turned off the artificial gravity, everywhere but in here," she smirked.
He disconnected the top of the watchtower and connected all drones that weren't totally trashed to the bottom of it as a makeshift ship. "I told you I had a plan," Gamora smiled at him. He steers the tower past the doors holding them. The ride was rocky at best. They bounced around, drones falling off the bottom but got far enough that they could lock everyone inside the courtyard.
"That was a pretty good plan." Quill admitted Rocket nodded proudly. He kicked the glass out and they all ran to where the inmate belongings were held. Quill ran to the window looking for his ship in the docking bay. Quill didn't have a long list of crimes and of what he did have none of them were worth a life sentence, he would have gotten out one day. So they picked up his ship with full intention to give it back upon release. "Yeah! There it is. Get my ship. It's the Milano, the orange and blue one over in the corner," he pointed to it.
Percy zoned in on it and nodded, gathering his stuff. He noticed two things were missing "Wait, wait, wait. No, no, no, no, no!" He yelled, kicking the box off the table.
"They crumpled my pants up into a ball." Rocket complained. "That's rude! They folded yours."
Quill rifled through his things, the blasted orb making their appearance. "The Orb's there. Let's go."
"Wait, wait, wait."
"What? What's wrong with both of you?"
"That bastard didn't put it back."
Percy growled, "they took them. Those Assholes took them."
"Put what back? Took what?"
Quill handed her his bag with the orb, "Here. Get them to the ship. I will be right back."
"How are you gonna possibly..."
"Just keep the Milano close by," He noticed Percy already running down the hall. His clothes changed and his bag slung over his shoulder.
~~~
Percy and Quill marched down the hall, Quill shooting everyone he saw. Percy pulled daggers out of holders on his legs, He broke their weapons in two with a single kick, and incapacitated everyone he came across. Percy's moral compass had been skewed in recent years but he already had a long list of murders he was wanted for. He didn't need to triple his life sentence without legitimate reason.
Percy glanced back at Quill as they made theri way through another threshold. He hadn't given the orb to Gamora and rather stole it so they couldn't leave without him. "Please don't throw that around. It's dangerous." Percy said his voice warped and layered from his mask's voice modifier. Quill looked over to Percy, but his expression was hidden under his own mask.
"What's your obsession with it? You just mentioned wanting to hand it over to your employer, with seemingly no pay I might add. I'm not buying the whole 'I am made for balance shtick there's more to it.'"
Percy rolled his eyes unnoticeably, leave it to a Terran to not believe the mythological even if it was staring you in the face and helping you escape space prison. "My employer handles dangerous artifacts and puts them in secure areas around the galaxy, and they're kinda my Parents' siblings," he winced. It wasn't a lie Order did hide dangerous artifacts but if Quill wasn't going to believe what he was blatantly telling him despite all the evidence of Percy being a more advanced Being then he would have to settle for a more realistic approach.
Quill's head snapped to him, "seriously you're doing this because your family told you to!"
"No, I'm doing this to prevent destruction and disaster. My purpose in the galaxy is to keep balance. I keep telling you people that, but no one believes me, I wasn't told to do anything, I can let fate take its course. I'm half made of chaos. I would find joy in the discord. I have no friends to worry about, but I know when something can be a legitimate problem. After we get the money for it, I'm just gonna steal it back and hand it over to them. I don't want people to die. Now shush."
They come up to the office where the guard was still listening to Quill's Walkman. Percy could clearly see his pen on the desk and the man was wearing his necklace, which made the demigod growl. The man looked up at the growl and Quill hit him with the Orb. Percy grabbed his pen off the desk and his necklace off the man's neck "You came back for a pen and a necklace!"
"Oh don't give me that you came back for an outdated music player, from the 80s. News flash it's 2014 on earth now. I'll have you know is all I have left from my life on Terra. Let's go."
Normally Percy would have just teleported onto the ship, but he had no idea what the interior looked like so he had to follow Quill's lead as he flew to it. "These two-show spirit." Drax said as he and Gamora pulled Quill through the hatch "They shall make keen allies in the battle against Ronan." Percy calmed himself from the brief offense of Drax questioning his skills. He had to remind himself that Drax never saw Percy fight for either of their planets, "Companions, what were you retrieving?" Quill pulled out his Walkman and handed it to Drax, upon realizing that it was not a weapon he sighed "You're an imbecile."
Gamora gave Percy a look, "Please tell me what you went back for is more important." He pulled down his collar and fingered his necklace and pulled a pen out of his pocket, "A necklace and a pen." She was fuming. "Seriously you risked all of our lives for a necklace and a pe-" She was cut off as Percy uncapped it and the beautiful bronze sword that he had had for more than half his life revealed itself.
Percy cradled the blade remembering the battles he fought with it, "I was given this when I was 12 of Terra I fought many battles with it and ended many monsters. I've never tried it on a Kree so let's see how loud I can make Ronan scream."
Chapter 5: Chapter Five
Chapter Text
Percy was sitting in the co-pilot seat practically falling asleep, He didn't need as much sleep as Quill or even Gamora but being awake for the last week didn't exactly help him, "Yo, Ranger Rick! What are you doing?" Percy jumped. "You can't take apart my ship without asking me! See, what is this?"
Rocket was sitting in a corner surrounded by scraps and now broken components of the ship. He stopped him about halfway down, "don't touch that It's a bomb."
"A bomb?"
"Yup."
"And you leave it lying around?"
"I was gonna put it in a box."
"What's a box gonna do?"
He pulled an obvious present out from one of Quills drawers, "How about this one?"
Quill knocked it out of Rockets hand back into the drawer and pushed it closed "No! Hey! Leave it alone."
"Why? What is it?"
"Shut up."
"Hey!"
Percy stood up and sat in front of Rocket, "What is that?" He asked, gesturing to whatever he was working on right now.
"That's for if things get really hardcore. Or if you wanna blow up moons."
From the other side of the room Gamora pretty much shut it down "No one's blowing up moons." She sounded a lot like a mom friend, actually she sounded like Annabeth when he and Leo had gotten together. The thought of the two of them made his heart clench. Annabeth stood with him, he kept close tabs on her, and she had to leave the Mythological and moved all the way to Alaska to avoid them, Nico and Will following. Leo had died years ago at only 16 in the battle with Gaea. He missed his family, he missed Annabeth and he felt bad for leaving her in that situation, but he couldn't go back to Terra. Zeus would blow his top and send the mortal world into utter chaos if he found out Percy survived.
"You just wanna suck the joy out of everything," Rocket muttered.
"So, listen, I'm gonna need your buyer's coordinates," Quill said, turning to his monitor.
Instead, Gamora answered, "we're heading in the right direction, for now."
"If we're gonna work together, you might wanna try trusting me a little bit."
"And how much do you trust me?"
"I'd trust you, both of you," Quill pointed to Percy who was still on the ground with Rocket, "a lot more if you told me what this was." He took the orb from her with no problem really, she wasn't holding it too tight. "Because I'm guessing it's some kind of weapon," he said placing it on the console.
"I don't know what it is."
"If it's a weapon, we should use it against Ronan." Drax said picking up the orb.
Gamora Immediately leaned forward, "Put it down, you fool. You'll destroy us all."
"Or just you, murderess!"
"I let you live once, princess!"
"I am not a princess!"
"Hey!" Quill stopped them, "Nobody is killing anybody on my ship! We're stuck together until we get the money."
"I have no interest in money." Drax threw the orb up and Percy shot up to catch it before it could hit the ground.
Quill shrugged letting Drax walk past him, "Great. That means more money for the four of us."
Groot made a whining noise letting Quill know that he was still there and wanted in on the deal too. He sighed frustratedly, "For the five of us. Partners?"
Gamora stopped him, "We have an agreement, but I would never be partners with the likes of you. I'll tell the buyer we're on our way. And Quill, your ship is filthy."
She walked up a set of stairs, Percy had no idea where they went. Quill watched her leave then turned back to Rocket and Percy who was cradling the orb "She has no idea. If I had a black light. This place would look like a Jackson Pollock painting."
"You got issues, Quill." Rocket said not entirely understanding the metaphor.
Percy, on the other hand, completely got it. His face twisted in disgust, "TMI man gross." The young man levitated off his feet and sat crisscrossed in the air, "Ugh."
"What about you? Do you know what it does?'' Rocket asked, pointing to the Orb that resided in his lap.
"Not entirely, all I'm positive of is that if it touches anything organic pure destruction could happen which is why once we sell it, I'll steal it back and bring home and let them lock it up. That's what I was gonna do with it in the first place, no money required."
"Then why sell it? I know you're a great bounty hunter, heck the whole galaxy does. Some places you don't even need to pay for anything they'll just give it to you in an act of peace. You definitely don't need to sell it."
Percy looked up at the way Gamora left, "I know what it's like to wanna get away, I left and what I have now is a thousand times better than the life I had before. I'll give most of my cut of the money to Gamora. I just need enough to buy a new ship."
Quill looked at the beaded necklace around Percy's neck, "Does it have anything to do with that?"
Percy reached up and clutched the necklace; there were five beads on it. One was black with a blue trident, the next had what looked like a gold blanket hanging from a tree, another had an intricate maze on it, a building with small lettering surrounding it, and the last was a statue of some kind. There was also a small tablet that just said 'Percy Cohort 5' hanging in between the fourth and fifth bead. "When I lived on Terra I went to a camp for young warriors where they trained us to be Heros." He fiddled with the building one. "You got one of these every summer you survived. I went from when I was 12 to 17. It's where I got the sword. I spent some time at a different camp and instead of beads they chose something a bit more permanent." He lifted his sleeve to show Quill and Rocket the SPQR marking. "It's less of a Tattoo and more of a branding. One line for every year in the legion. I only spent one year of service then went home. Back to that camp."
There was a moment of quiet, "You got the makings of a terran hero of legends," Quill said. A lot of what Percy said sounded like something out of a Greek myth. "Why are you all the way out here? Why would you leave that?"
Percy let out a harsh chuckle. Tears were springing in his eyes and he tried to push them back. "They killed me." He got back to his feet and made his way back to the co-pilot's seat.
~~~
"Heads up! We're inbound," Rocket called through the ship. Everyone migrated to the front of the ship and came upon one of the most gruesome sights Percy had ever seen and that was saying a lot.
"What is it?"
"It's called knowhere. The severed head of an ancient celestial being."
Percy looked at Gamora with wide eyes, "and we're going inside!?"
She nodded, "Be wary headed in, rodent. There are no regulations whatsoever here."
They flew in and the disturbing thought kept hitting Percy, 'if this isn't one of my family then its something they slayed.' He was suddenly much more afraid of his family and whatever could have been out there that killed this if it was one of Order and Chaos' siblings.
"Hundreds of years ago, the Tivan Group sent workers in to mine the organic matter within the skull. Bone, brain tissue, spinal fluid. All rare resources, highly valued in black markets across the galaxy. It's dangerous and illegal work, suitable only for outlaws."
Percy looked around, "Children of Chaos, Much like myself."
"Well, I come from a planet of outlaws. Billy the Kid, Bonnie and Clyde, John Stamos."
Percy turned to Quill confused. "It sounds like a place, which I would like to visit."
"Yeah, you should."
"I don't think John Stamos counts as a criminal," Percy whispered under his breath.
A bunch of little kids ran up to them, "Excuse me."
"Watch your wallets," Quill Warned
"Can you spare any units?" A few kids asked Percy smiled and discreetly gave them each a hundred units each. It was hard for him to refuse helpless children considering how little he grew up with almost nothing of his own. Not to mention the thought of what Nico had gone through on his own. One of them staring at him couldn't have been more than ten with black hair and eyes so dark they looked like the Void. If Percy wasn't in an okay state of mind at the moment, he would have thought him to actually be the son of Hades. He gave him 200 units.
They came up on one of the biggest buildings, a bar it seemed like. "Your buyer's in there?"
"We are to wait here for his representative."
A bouncer pushed someone out the door roughly "Get out of here!"
"This is no respectable establishment. What do you expect us to do while we wait?"
Rocket, Groot and Drax were watching lizard fights that pretty much ended with the smaller one being eaten, which wasn't really Percy's thing. He took a drink and sat outside overlooking Knowhere. He was lost in his thoughts, he wondered what happened to Thalia after he left. He knew about Nico he was with Will, but he didn't keep as close an eye on Thalia. It seemed disrespectful to watch a hunter of Artemis as a male. She was his cousins and had always stuck by him. He hoped she was okay. He wondered what everyone looked like now. He spent a lot of time on the concept's planets where time moves faster. On earth it was only between six to eight years for him it had been ten. He was almost 30 while Annabeth was only between 23 and 25.
He shook his thoughts away, looked down to Gamora and Quill a floor below him. Quill put his headphone on Gamora and she let him. He couldn't help the smile, there was something there even if Quill was really more of a playboy and Gamora would rather not feel, yet. She let him place a hand on her waist and hold her other hand.
Just as they leaned in Gamora snapped back to reality "No!" she suddenly screamed. She pushed Quill back against the railing and placed a knife to his neck.
"What the hell?"
"I know who you are, Peter Quill! And I am not some starry-eyed waif here to succumb to your... Your pelvic sorcery!"
"That is not what is happening here."
Percy dropped down from his place on the roof and broke them up, "Alright, alright it was sweet at first but please don't try to kill him."
"You were watching?" Quill asked creeped out.
"I was drinking, lost in my own thoughts about Terra until you came out here and saw you two. There's nothing else to do. This place sucks."
Percy looked past Quill and saw Groot get thrown back, Drax following suit and jumping on top of him, "Come on seriously."
The three rushed in Gamora pulling Drax off of Groot, Rocket cocking a gun ready to shoot, "stop it!"
"What are you doing?"
"This vermin speaks of affairs he knows nothing about!"
"That is true!" Rocket admits.
"He has no respect!" Drax continued.
"That is also true!" he admits again.
"Hold on! Hold on!"
"Keep calling me vermin, tough guy! You just wanna laugh at me like everyone else!"
Percy took a knee, "Rocket, you're drunk. Alright? No one's laughing at you."
He pointed at Drax, "he thinks I'm some stupid thing! He does! Well, I didn't ask to get made! I didn't ask to be torn apart, and put back together, over and over and turned into some... Some little monster!"
"Rocket, no one's calling you a monster," Quill said, trying to defuse the situation.
"He called me "vermin!" She called me "rodent"! Let's see if you can laugh after five or six good shots to your frickin' face!" He powered with the gun and took three shots. Percy lunged in front of Drax putting out his hands, drawing water from the air to absorb the blast.
He was pushed back into Gamora who caught him easily, "did I just get knocked on ass by a life form less than half my size." Percy didn't realize it at the time but using the size comparison instead of the species meant a lot to Rocket.
"No, no, no, no! Four billion units! Rocket! Come on, man. Hey! Suck it up for one more lousy night and you're rich," Quill stopped him from hurting anyone else.
This made Rocket power down his weapon, "fine. But I can't promise, when all this is over, I'm not gonna kill every last one of you jerks."
"See? That's exactly why none of you have any friends! Five seconds after you meet somebody, you're already trying to kill them!" Percy dissipated the water and looked at Quill in disbelief.
The demigod turned a fierce glare on Quill, "I was killed my friends think I'm dead. I have lost many others. I am alone by choice."
"We have traveled, halfway across the quadrant. And Ronan is no closer to being dead," Drax left the bar.
"Drax!"
"Let him go. We don't need him."
Quill looked over to Percy whose eyes were glossed over as if he was reliving a traumatic event. Gamora touched his shoulder only for him to jump back and shake his head, he muttered under his breath a little.
Neither could ask what was wrong before a pink Woman in a white dress with her hands cupped in front of her stepped in. "Milady Gamora. I'm here to fetch you for my master," she bowed and gestured out the door.
Quill looked over at Percy as they were walking out. He was still in a broken state which he was finding was rare for him, "Jackson."
Percy looked up at Quill, "I'm sorry," He pushed away the tears. "I had friends back home; I had a girlfriend and cousins and a mother who loved me. I wouldn't be out here if it wasn't for the gods of Terra."
"Gods?" Quill was Terran so the existence of gods on that planet was a kick to the crotch.
"What do you think I am? How do you think I can do everything I can?" He looked into Quills' horrified eyes. "The king of the Gods killed me. Zues killed me."

Chapter 6: Chapter Six
Chapter Text
"Okay, this isn't creepy at all." Rocket said, stepping into what looked like a warehouse with all sorts of creatures trapped in glass boxes. It looked sorta like some kinda animal/humanoid zoo.
"We house the galaxy's largest collection of fauna, relics, and species of all manner," they pass by a dog who growls at Rocket, and he growls back.
Percy muttered behind Quill, "More like imprison." He was still not okay and would rather not look at Quill at the moment. He was kind of insulted by his comment and he was thankful Carina stopped the exchange that was bound to follow when she brought them in. Quill was trying very hard not to look at Percy. He wasn't sure if he believed the man. Before today he would have thought him crazy but right now, they were standing in a giant decomposing head. He's been to a lot of worlds and heard a lot of myths about different gods. Some of them were real, some of them not so much. Could it really be possible that the gods of earth were real? It would make sense of the scars covering his body, especially the lightning bolt one. It would make sense that he was being trained to be a hero if he was a demigod like Achilles or one who knew of the gods like Patroclus. If the gods of earth were real that begs the question, why did they kill Percy? Were the vindictive or was Percy really just that dangerous. Forget that the real question was how he was alive if he claimed Zues had killed him. Should he be glad he left Terra because of them, or should he be scared of the young man standing next to him?
"I present to you, Taneleer Tivan, The Collector," Carina said, snapping Quill out of his thoughts.
'The Collector' turned around, and Percy was met with a big guy dressed in furs with a weird pair of glasses on. He walked toward Gamora who stepped up, "Oh, my dear Gamora." He took her hand in his "How wonderful to meet in the flesh," He kissed the back. Percy thought he spoke a lot like Snape from the Harry Potter movies.
"Let's bypass the formalities, Tivan. We have what we discussed."
The Collector's eyes bypassed Gamora and fell upon Groot, "What is that thing there?"
"I am Groot."
"I never thought I'd meet a Groot. Sir... You must all me to pay you now so that I may own your carcass. At the moment of your death, of course."
"I am Groot."
"Why, so he could turn you into a frickin' chair?"
Percy shook his head, "This man is just as much of a lunatic as Zues if not more." He could basically sense the god complex coming off of him, 'at least Zues was an actual god.' It took a lot for Percy to praise his murderer but somehow Tivan made him do it. Quill heard Percy, he was muttering to himself though and it seemed he had no idea that Quill heard him. So at the very least he thought what he was saying was true.
"That's your pet?"
Quill and Percy shook their heads, "His what?" Rocket started pulling out his gun. It was a bad idea to insult Rocket even unintentionally. Though Percy wasn't sure if that was unintentional or not.
Gamora stepped in before Rocket could get trigger happy, "Tivan. We have been halfway around the galaxy, retrieving this Orb."
"Very well, then. Let us see what you brought." Percy pulled it out of his Satchel and handed it to the collector knowing that very soon he would have it back.
"Oh, my new friends. Before creation itself, there were six singularities." He said after hooking up the orb to a machine to unlock it, "and six great beings called concepts who slain the beast whose head we reside in at the very moment, The others never seen before by anyone alive. Fate, Ego, Chaos, Order, Peace, and Destruction." Percy's eyes widened. "Then the universe exploded into existence," Circular memories burst to life around them "and the remnants of these systems were forged into concentrated ingots. Gifts of the concepts they say," As he opened the orb purple light fazed out of it "Infinity Stones." The memories etched showed an image of a different stone "These stones, it seems, can only be brandished by beings of extraordinary strength. Observe." He showed a robot-like entity carrying the stone on a staff, "These carriers can use the Stone to mow down entire civilizations like wheat in a field." It destroyed an entire planet in seconds. "At least this one, it is said that this one is created by Destruction."
Quill was thoroughly freaked out. "There's a little pee coming out of me right now."
"Once, for a moment, a group was able to share the energy amongst themselves, but even they were quickly destroyed by it," That was not a pretty image. All of them were disintegrated.
He got very excited as soon as the whole orb was open and suddenly Percy wasn't so sure about leaving it here even for a moment. "Beautiful. Beyond compare."
"We're all very fascinated, whitey. But we'd like to get paid," Rocket snapped.
"How would you like to get paid?"
"What do you think, fancy man? Units!"
He opened his drawer "Very well, then." His servant drew closer to the stone "Carina. Stand back."
"I will no longer be your slave!"
"No!" Percy shouted. She grabbed the stone power crawling up her arm, She screamed as it overwhelmed her starting to tear her attomes apart, "get down!" Percy pulled Gamora and Quill down, Groot grabbed Rocket and ran out. The building practically exploded, setting all of The Collector's creatures free from their cells.
As soon as it was over the three peaked up "What the..." something else sparked behind Quill.
Percy was furious, "What in the name of Hades!" he started off in a greek tangent "Πώς θα μπορούσε κανείς - έχω γνωρίσει μόνο μια ομάδα ανθρώπων σε όλη μου τη ζωή που ήταν, τόσο... τόσο...Despicable!" He grabbed the collector up by his cloak as Gamora closed the orb, "What did you do to her!" No answer, "What did you threaten her with! No one willingly touches an object that they know has killed everyone who held it, unless they are harmed or threatened. What did you do to her that made her feel that was the only answer!" When Tivan still didn't answer Percy's pupils and Scleras were gone in the place a pure sea green abyss like he was looking to the depths of the angry Terran ocean. Moisture pulled itself from the air and circled around him in his own personal storm. He threw out his hands and Tivan was secured to the ground with the concrete floor of his own building. He pulled his hand back and Tivan started screaming in agonizing pain.
Gamora grabbed Percy's shoulder, he turned to her and Quill with a fierce glare. Both stumbled away from him. He took a deep breath and released the collector from his punishment and let Gamora drag him out. "How could I think Tivan could contain whatever was within the Orb?"
"What do you still have it for?" Rocket asked hysterically as soon as he saw them come out.
"What are we gonna do, leave it in there?" Quill argues
"I can't believe you had that in your purse!"
"It's not a purse," Percy growled, "it's a satchel!" he shook his head, "I'm not arguing with you about this!"
"We have to bring this to the Nova Corps. There's a chance they can contain it."
"Are you kidding me? We're wanted by the Nova Corps. Just give it to Ronan!"
"So he can destroy the galaxy!?" Percy reasoned in his own hysterics he had no idea that there was an infinity stone in there if he had he would have taken it home ages ago.
"What are you, some saint all of a sudden? What has the galaxy ever done for you? Why would you wanna save it?"
"Because we're a couple of the idiots who live in it!"
Gamora grabbed Quill's shoulder, "Peter, listen to me, Percy is right, we cannot allow the Stone to fall into Ronan's hands. We have to go back to your ship and deliver it to Nova."
"I didn't say that! Nova wants to arrest me too!"
"Right, right, okay. I think you're right. Or we could give it to somebody who's not going to arrest us, who's really nice for a whole lot of money." Gamora reeled back. "I think it's a really good balance between both of your points of view."
"You're despicable. Dishonorable. Faithless!"
Percy grabbed the orb from Gamora, "Quill is right," said man looked up at Percy. He looked back at Quill and Rocket, "My ommer can send this back to the void it came from. Tivan was right about the six being. Two each live in Three separate voids across space. I am the champion of Chaos and Order. They saved me after I was killed. Chaos is like my parents and Order my ommer. I don't know where Destruction and Peace live but I'm sure Order can send this back to them or at the very least contain it. I wasn't going to do it for money but I'm sure they'll pay you. This is coming home with me now!"
"Are you absolutely sure about this? They can contain it and we'll get paid." Rocket asked.
Percy nodded, "Positive."
"Looks like we're meeting the concepts."
"Oh no." He heard Gamora breathe; He looked in her direction. and saw dozens of ships fall in.
Drax's arms extended with weapons in hand, "At last!" He laughed, "I shall meet my foe and destroy him!"
"You called Ronan?" Quill shouted.
"Are you insane?" Percy snapped.
"Quill! Don't you move, boy!" Percy looked to the side and saw the ravagers. The five Immediately ran. "Don't you move! Get out of the way!"
"Ronan the Accuser!"
That's all Percy heard before he loaded himself into an escape pod, with the orb in hand, and took off.
Percy's pod was being tracked down and shot at by one of Ronan's ships, "Hell I can't concentrate on my room!" he smacked down on the controls and quickly jerked to the side away from another blast. He hadn't been able to think about his room or anything on the concept planets since the orb had been opened.
"Rocket, keep them off Gamora and Percy until they get to the Milano. I'm not sure who has the orb Ronan showed up too quickly."
"How? We've got no weaponry on these things."
"These pods are industrial grade. They're nearly indestructible."
"Not against necroblasts, they're not."
"That's not what I'm saying," a dawning realization came over Rocket. He started ramming the pod straight though Ronan's ships unscathed.
Percy and Gamora fell in line waving around each other to confuse the scanners. Quill ripped the top out of one of the ships chasing down Percy and threw the man at the controls out. "Let me borrow your ride." he used the claws of the pod to control the newly acquired ship and used the necroblaster to hit down a few more ships.
The two got pushed against a wall of the skull, "Quill, we're trapped. we can't make it to the Milano," Gamora told him over the coms.
"We have to head out," Percy added.
"Wait! These things aren't meant to go out there."
"You are a disappointment, sister." A girl's voice came over the comms. Percy was immediately interested, Sister? "Of all our siblings, I hated you least."
Gamora's came next, "Nebula, please. If Ronan gets this stone, he'll kill us all."
"Not all. You will already be dead," and she blew up Gamora's pod, sending her off and Percy spiraling closer back to Knowhere. Not seeing the Orb, Nebula zoned in on Percy.
"Whoa, whoa, Nebula, was it? Come one please think for a second, Gamora's right you're not gonna survive this. If you want to kill Thanos, you can't side with Ronan. I can help." Nebula didn't like that the man could basically read her mind, in reality it was just a really good guess. He wasn't sure how anyone could stand Thanos and him and Ronan definitely clashed heads more than a few times. After only a moment of hesitation she blew up his pod as well. Percy was knocked unconscious floating close to Quill and the orb beamed up into Ronan's ship.
"Quill, come on. Their body mods should keep them alive a couple more minutes, but there's nothing we can do for them. These pods aren't even meant to be out here. In a second, we're gonna be in the same boat." Rocket turned away, starting to fly back to Knowhere.
"Awe Damn it."
"Quill?"
Quill opened up his communications "Yondu! Yondu. This is Quill! My coordinates are 227 K324."
"Quill. Quill, what are you doing?"
"Just outside Knowhere. If you're there, come get me. I'm all yours." Quill opened his pod and made his way out to Gamora and Percy.
"Quill don't be ridiculous. Get back into your pod!" He made it to Percy first who was only a few feet away and shut him up in his pod. "You can't fit more than one person in there, let alone three! You're gonna die. You'll die in seconds! Quill!-" He took off his mask and placed it on Gamora.
Quill and Gamora were surrounded by ravager ships and beamed onto one, hopefully saving their lives. "Percy!" Rocket tried, "Percy!" he heard deep breaths being taken over the comms.
"What happened? Why does my head feel like the fields of punishment?" He looked down and his lap and frantically looked around the pod. Where's the orb?"

Chapter 7: Chapter Seven
Chapter Text
Percy and Rocket crashed the pods back on Knowhere close to Drax and Groot. "Blasted idiot. They're all idiots!" Rocket groaned crawling out. Percy stumbled out and coughed, "Quill just got himself captured. None of this ever would have happened if you didn't try to single-handedly take on a frickin' army!"
"Not to mention we lost the orb," Percy said dizzily. He grabbed on to the side of the pod to steady himself.
Drax sighs, "You're right. I was a fool. All the anger, all the rage, was just to cover my loss." Percy's face dropped, he immediately understood how he acted when he thought he lost his mom he was irrational and ready to take on Hades himself he had actually taken on Ares himself.
"Oh boo-hoo-hoo "My wife and child are dead."" Rocket mocked him. Groot gaped and covered his mouth but Percy couldn't even glare; he also understood where Rocket was coming from. Drax did almost get them all killed. "I don't care if it's mean! Everybody's got dead people. It's no excuse to get everybody else dead along the way!"
Percy's face darkened, "yeah everyones got dead people, I got a whole lot. Enough to make my own cemetery. And what Drax did was one of the most idiotic things I could ever imagine but screaming is not gonna help Quill, Gamora or the universe!" Percy ironically screamed.
Rocket gave him a look and shook his head "Come on, Groot. Ronan has the stone. The only chance we got is to get to the other side of the universe as fast as we can and maybe, just maybe, we'll be able to live full lives before that whack-job ever gets there."
The demigod shook his head in disbelief, "Go ahead and run! My job is never done is it. I've got a stone to retrieve." Percy turned his mask on and turned towards the Milano. The ravagers would tear the two apart and Gamora was his best shot at actually retrieving the stone since her sister was the one who took it. So he had to save Quill and Gamora then get the stone. Easy right? He faced off against mother earth. He could do this at least that what he would tell himself so if he died he would go down swinging.
Groot stood, "I am Groot."
"Save them? How?"
"I am Groot."
"I know they're the only friends that we ever had, but there's an army of ravagers around them. And there's only two of us!"
Drax stood up shakily "Three."
"I am Groot," The tree pointed at Percy who was already halfway to Quill's ship.
Rocket groaned irritatedly his mind clearly working against his emotions. He started kicking the small patch of grass, "You're making me. beat... up grass!"
~~~
"I wish there was something better we could do then to shoot at a ravager ship."
"Do you got a better plan?"
"Not really my ex was more of the planning ahead person, I usually planned while I was getting my ass handed to me then flip it around," Percy looked out at the huge ravager ship.
As soon as they could make out the Ravager Captain, Yondu, in the window Rocket decided to intimidate them, "Attention, idiots. The lunatic on top of this craft is holding a Hadron Enforcer. It's a weapon of my own design. If you don't hand over our companions now, he's gonna tear your ship a new one. A very big new one!"
"Yeah he's not lying," Percy said into the comm with a smirk, "That probably one of the most dangerous weapons in the galaxy, never seen anything like it"
"I'm giving you to the count of five, 5, 4, 3...
"Rocket, Jackson, it's me, for God sakes! We figured it out! We're fine!"
"Oh hey, Quill. What's going on?"
~~~~
Once they got Quill and Gamora back on the ship they were not happy with the four. Quill told how the bases of his plan and the mood got even worse "You call that "figured it out"? We're gonna rob the guys who just beat us senseless!"
"You want to talk about senseless? How about trying to save us by blowing us up?"
"We were only gonna blow you up if they didn't turn you over!"
"And how on earth were they gonna turn us over when you only gave them a count of five?"
"Percy said he'd use one of his powers to shield you two he's got his own Problems with the ravagers." Percy did say that and he did not have force field powers but he figured since Rockets blast couldn't be that big he could pull together enough water particles in time to pull Gamora and Quill on to the Milano
Quill looked at the man who was sitting in midair playing with his pen who just shrugged.
Gamora took the opportunity to jump in and stop the arguing "What's important now is we get the Ravagers' army to help us save Xandar."
"So we can give the Stone to Yondu who's just gonna sell it to somebody even worse?"
"Is there even someone worse than Ronan, that you can think of?"
"We'll figure that part out later. Percy you said you know where we can hide it."
He shook his head, "I don't but my family does, I've seen them hide hundreds of dangerous artifacts over the years. If anyone can keep the power stone safe from Ronan and Thanos, it's them. Like I said they could send it back to Destructions void"
"Great so we just get the stone and bring it to them for safe keeping?" Gamora asked, he nodded, "we have to stop Ronan."
"How?" Rocket snapped
"I have a plan," Quill assured.
"You've got a plan?"
"Yes."
"First of all, you're copying me from when I said I had a plan."
Quill shook his head almost like he realized he was arguing with a raccoon. "No, I'm not. People say that all the time. It's not that unique of a thing to say."
Rocket ignored him "Secondly, I don't even believe you have a plan."
"I have part of a plan!"
"What percentage of a plan do you have?"
Gamora shot Drax down, "You don't get to ask questions after the nonsense you pulled on Knowhere. Now that none of us are in immediate danger I can say, What the hell were you thinking?"
"I honestly agree with Gamora,"
"I just saved Quill."
"We've already established that you destroying the ship that I'm on is not saving me."
"When did we establish it?"
"Like three seconds ago!" Quill snapped.
"I wasn't listening. I was thinking of something else."
Gamora groaned and turned away briefly, Percy wondered how he went from being the relatively smart idiot to possibly one of the only two sane people in the room. He wondered how his companions just got even weirder. He went from Demigods, Gods, and Satyrs, to a green assassin, an idiot thief from Terra, a gray and red killer, a jacked up Raccoon and a talking tree.
"She's right. You don't get an opinion. What percentage?"
"I don't know. Twelve percent."
Percy's eyes widened, "Twelve percent?" he asked in disbelief.
Rocket burst out laughing, "that's a fake laugh."
"It's real!"
"Totally fake."
"That is the most real, authentic, hysterical laugh of my entire life - because that is not a plan."
Gamora chimed in slightly disappointed, "It's barely a concept."
"You're taking their side?"
"I am Groot."
"So what, If it's better than 11%? What the hell does that have to do with anything?"
"Thank you, Groot. Thank you." He patted the tree man on the shoulder "See? Groot's the only one of you who has a clue." Percy looked on amused as Groot ate a leaf off his shoulder. Quill saw this as well and shook his head turning away. Quill shook his head and sighed "Guys." His voice was already cracking with emotions, "Come on. Yondu is gonna be here in two seconds. He expects to hear this big plan of ours. I need your help. I look around at us. You know what I see? Losers." Everyone gives him a look, "I mean, like, folks who have lost stuff. And we have. Man, we have. All of us. Our homes, our families, normal lives. And, usually, life takes more than it gives. But not today. Today, it's given us something. It has given us a chance."
Drax looked up at him "To do what?"
"To give a shit. For once. Not run away. I, for one, am not gonna stand by and watch as Ronan wipes out billions of innocent lives."
Still looking down, Rocket says "But, Quill, stopping Ronan, it's impossible. You're asking us to die."
Quill's shoulders slumped, "Yeah, I guess I am." He turned away, placing his face in his hands. He was actually realizing the weight of the situation for the first time.
"Quill," Gamora gained his attention. "I have lived most my life surrounded by my enemies. I will be grateful to die among my friends," She said Standing.
Images of Manhattan Flash though Percy's head, Images of The pit, of Beckandorf, Selina, Ethan, Luke, and Leo. He places his feet on the floor, "I'm with you Quill," He turned and looked at Percy, "I would be dishonoring the friends I have lost and the family I left to not fight in their names to not fight for them. I've sacrificed more than half my life, my mental and physical being, my ability to live just to keep Terra safe. Why wouldn't I give my life for the galaxy, huh?" he smiled wryly. The smile highlighted to the others just how young Percy was, he was younger then the rest of them and was never given the chance to just be a kid. Stolen from his life much too early and forced into a never ending battle and still he chose to stand tall and bear the weight again. That's when Quill knew; Percy wasn't the problem, the gods had to have been scared of him. He was a boy much like him but given a much bigger battle and he survived. He was younger then all of them but more scared then most of them as well.
If this young man could bear to look death in the face, why not the rest of them, "You are an honorable man, Quill." Drax stood. "I will fight beside you. And in the end, I will see my wife and daughter again."
"I am Groot."
They all looked to Rocket, "What the hell. I don't got that long a lifespan, anyway." He stood up on the box he was sitting on, "Now I'm standing. Y'all happy? We're all standing up now. Bunch of jackasses, standing in a circle," Percy laughed a bit.
He pulled riptide out of his pocket and uncapped it and looked out at the universe realizing that this was finally the end of the line. Death was finally upon him just like it had been many times before. He could only hope that the pain would be worth it this time. He had sacrificed himself so many times to the gods just for them to be ungrateful and kill him. Only for Terran to be filled with monsters and Vile people who continuously harm their planet. But there were so many innocent people out in the universe who deserved a chance. What was one more tragedy in the blades histroy.
~~~
"The stone reacts to anything organic. The bigger the target, the bigger the power surge," Gamora announced to the assembled ravagers.
"All Ronan's got to do is touch the Stone to the planet's surface and zap. All plants, animals, Nova Corps," Quill continued.
Percy then took the reins, "Everything will die. So Ronan does not make the surface," his voice commanded attention.
"Rocket will lead a team to blow a hole in the Dark Aster's starboard hull. Then, our craft and Yondu's will enter."
"Won't there be hundreds of Sakaaran soldiers inside?" A ravager, Kraglin, asked.
"I think of Sakaarans as paper people," Drax told him. He grinned, punching Drax in the arm only for the man to glare at him and scare him into submission.
"Once they know we're on board, Ronan will isolate himself behind impenetrable security doors on deck. Which I can disable by dismantling the power source," Gamora nodded.
"We'll make it to the flight deck, and I'll use the Hadron Enforcer to kill Ronan." Quill added.
Percy smirked "once Ronan is dead, we will retrieve the Stone. Use these devices to contain it," he said, handing spherical devices to the ravagers. "If you touch it, it will kill you," He said with no lack of certainty.
"I'll contact one of the Nova officers who arrested us. Hopefully, they'll believe we're there to help," Quill Announced referring to Dey.
"There's one more thing we need to complete the plan. That guy's eye." The man's eyes widened as he looked down at the raccoon.
Percy grabbed Rocket's snout, "No! No, we don't. No, we don't need that guy's eye," Quill added.
He hit Percy away "No, seriously, I need it! It's important to me."
He said, trying to contain his laughter.
Chapter 8: Chapter Eight
Chapter Text
Percy sat on a box now in full ravager gear and prayed, "MaD" He prayed to Chaos. "Please let this go well, please give me the strength to go through one last sacrifice. Please save my new friends and at the very least if we do die, please let them be reunited with their loved ones. Bring Riptide back to Terra and tell them I died as a hero and not a traitor."
A voice ran in Percy's head, A female voice letting him know it was a mom day, "I will be beside you and help all I can Percy." He felt a feather light touch on his forehead, "be careful my son."
"I will mom," He opened his eyes and ran a hand over his face, "please let us survive."
"We will," a new voice assured him. In the doorway was Quill, "We'll live through this kid, promise," He smiled nudging his shoulder.
"I'm not much younger than you Quill," Percy laughs, pushing his hair back. "But thanks, sometimes you need to be reminded that no everyones bad, and sometimes I need to remember that not everyones gonna turn their back on me."
"Did they kill you because they were afraid of you?" Quill asked.
"Maybe deep down. Someone claimed I had betrayed the gods. I didn't, but even after everything I did they chose to believe her."
The Automated voice rang though the ship, "Ronan's fleet has been spotted, and will arrive in T-minus fifteen minutes."
"Let's go get 'em, boys!" Yandu yelled over the comms.
Hundreds of Ravagers ships were deployed just outside of Xandars radius, "This is a terrible plan," Gamora realized.
"Hey, you're the one who said you wanted to die among friends," Quill teased.
Yondu's ship fires at Ronan's, creating a cover, "Cover it down. Submerge!"
Quill and Percy at the controls do a full on Nose dive straight on to Xandar then back up.
"Rocket, hurry!" Quill yells out to Rocket and his team Just as the cover goes down, not a moment later it seems all of Ronas pilots dive.
"This looks like the most intense game of galaga ever." Percy quips, making Quill look over at him with a grin.
"Quill! Yondu! Now!" Rocket yells as they break through the side of the ship. They make their way forward. ducking and weaving thigh fire.
Percy sees Yondu fall back "Awe Hell! I'm going down, Quill! No more games with me, boy! I'll see you at the end of this!"
Quill doesn't even react, just continues on. "There are too many of them, Rocket!" Gamora calls "We'll never make it up there!" Percy thrust forward determined to get the stone back and keep it out of villainess clutches for good.
Suddenly a ton of ships flank around Percy and Quill's ship, "Peter Quill. This is Denarian Saal of the Nova Corps. For the record, I advised against trusting you here."
"They got my "dick" message!" Percy opened his mouth to argue against the wording but shook his head and continued on.
"Prove me wrong."
Their ship ducks into the hole in the side of Ronan's ship, the wings breaking off the sides "Yes!" Drax calls as if this is a ride. Guards flank the sides trying to take down the ship, Quill turns them as best he can with the wings gone and shoots them all dead. The three up front just stare at each other in shock, considering they actually survived that "Yes!" Drax cheers again.
Gamora looks at the two, "We're just like Kevin Bacon."
"Kevin Ba- Did you explain Footlose to her! Of all movies Footlose!"
They exited the tattered ship and snuck along the corridor, "I can barely see," Drax said, squinting.
Groot extended his arm and released what looked like little glowing dandelions, "When did you learn to do that?" Drax asked as Percy's mind raced back to Terran, back to Half Blood hill, back to the Apollo cabin more specifically.
"Pretty sure the answer is "I am Groot."" Quill answered but it was clear that he was impressed.
Gamora smiled and nodded ahead, "The flight deck is 300 meters this way."
They continued on, "I want you all to know that I am grateful for your acceptance after my blunders." Drax started snapping Percy out of thoughts of home "It is pleasing to once again have, friends. You, Quill, are my friend."
"Thanks," Quill said unenthusiastically, not entirely paying attention.
"This dumb tree, he is my friend," Groot hummed with a smile, "you Jackson the Terran warrior are my friend once more." Percy gave a small smile over his shoulder but said nothing "And this green whore, she, too..."
Gamora whipped around immediately "You must stop!"
A yell was heard and down dropped what Percy thought looked like a cross between a woman and a cyborg, a gorgeous one at that. "Gamora, look at what you have done. You have always been weak. You stupid, traitorous..." She was blasted back painfully by a ball of flames.
The other four looked to Drax whose weapon was trained on the woman, "Nobody talks to my friends like that."
"Head to the flight deck. I'll shut down the power to the security doors."
Percy smirked as he walked alongside Quill, "Definitely one of the hotter psycho's that had tried to kill me."
Quill snorted, "does that happen a lot,"
Percy nodded, "You'd be surprised a lot of enemies back on Terra. And I got a lot of crazy one nighters out in the universe."
"Yeah I get that," he laughed. "The crazy one nighters, I lived a pretty normal life on Terra."
"Gods I wish but then again I wouldn't be here otherwise," He smirked.
The four men ran up towards the flight deck only to be stopped by Ronans troops, "Star-Lord." The man grinned.
Quill smiled, "Finally." The man threw him and a fight broke out.
Percy uncapped riptide and got busy. He knew how to shoot a gun it was much easier than a bow and arrow and as good as they were when taking a life they weren't really his style. If he missed with his powers even by an inch here he risked hurting Quill, Drax or Groot. With blades he was up close so alway knew he was getting a kill. He slashed through one guard's neck ducked under a shot from another sweeped their legs out from under them, making them drop their weapon, which Percy kicked away. And made quick work of watching the light leave their eyes.
"You will never make it to Ronan."
He let Drax take on the leader while he, Groot, and Quill took on the Guards that just kept coming. "Percy step aside," He did as told just in time so see Quill sliding past on his back shooting the ones headed towards the demigod.
"Nice improvisation."
Drax pinned the man to the wall, "finger to the throat means death." Percy tilted his head with a small laugh, he pulled out the wiring from the side of his head making him short circuit and fall limp, "metaphor."
Quill shrugged "Yeah, sorta." he looked ahead "Oh no."
A hoard of guards ran down the ramp towards them. Groot extended one of his arms with a shout and plunged it through a line of guards. He tosses them around like a rag doll, smacking the rest down unconscious. Drax grinned, and Percy was left agape at the normally docile tree's behavior. He turned back to the three men and smiled.
"Quill, you gotta hurry. The city's been evacuated, but we're getting our asses kicked down here,'' They heard Rocket through the comms. Percy pulled water out of the air and threw several icicles out stabbing the remaining surrounding Guards.
"Gamora hasn't opened the door!" Quill answered frustrated.
A less than two minutes later the door opened and a section of the floor inside blew up allowing Gamora in. She took out one guard with another blast and Percy ran riptide though the second. They ran in the room and Quill took aim on Ronan. A missile fired on Ronan from Rocket's weapon as soon as he turned around. Smoke filled the hall and for a moment they thought they had won, "You did it!"
But only for a moment. And the smoke cleared there stood Ronan still alive with only a burn mark on his armor to show that he was hit. He thrusted out his mallet and an energy pulse from the power stone threw the five back.
Drax was barely affected and Stood up Immediately running straight for Ronan, "Drax!" Percy screamed wincing as he got to his knee.
Ronan grabbed Drax by his neck holding him in the air as he struggled, "I was mistaken. I do remember your family. Their screams were pitiful. I..."
A ravager ship crashed straight into Ronan and Drax, catching Percy's whole right side as well but not bad enough to put him out of commission. The ship was going down. That much was clear. Gamora dragged Drax over, Goot helped Percy stand as he healed his leg, and Quill unbuckled an unconscious Rocket out of the ship and held him close.
They all kneeled down next to each other. Percy stopped healing himself and realized that this was how he would die. Of all the powers he had, force fields were not one of them. He sat his They all glanced at one another as rubble crumbled around them accepting that this would be the end. Not many could say that they would die among friends. It seemed fate wanted to be good to this pack of losers for once in their lives.
Chapter 9: Chapter Nine
Chapter Text
Groot extended his arms out letting branches grow spreading out around his new friends, his family, forming a tight protective dome around them. Rocket slowly came to seeing branch like tendrils wrapping around the other five keeping them in place lighting up the dome with the little glowing dandelions. "No, Groot!" Rocket choked out. "You can't. You'll die. Why are you doing this?" He snapped tears falling, "why?"
Groot reached out a small tendril to whip away his best friend's tears, "We are Groot," he managed to struggle out painfully before they crashed into the city center.
All five managed to survive the crash thanks to Groot despite being bloodied and very possibly broken. Percy sat up wincing along the way, he really wished Chaos and Orders blessing had kept him from feeling pain, but no they said that it would make him less human. He healed himself just enough to stand up and noticed that they were surrounded by not only the rubble of the city center and Rona's ship, but a pile of twigs strewn all about. His heart clenched even with all the power in the universe he still couldn't save his friends. Fate was cruel. He limped his way over to Rocket, "I called him an idiot," he whispered, holding a few sticks. Percy placed a hand on his back letting Rocket mourn.
Sadly it wasn't for long as Ronan appeared out of the cloud of smoke almost unfazed. The only evidence of their fight; a dent in his armor, "How the hades are you not dead!"
"You killed Groot!" Rocket ran forward before Percy could react only for the power stone to be used to throw him back like a rag doll.
"Behold!" Ronan thundered, "Your guardians of the galaxy!" Rocket was lucky enough to be thrown near some machinery that he could rewire. It was barely working because of the crash but the flicker of energy was enough for a genius like himself. "What fruit have they wrought?" he nodded to Drax setting off a chain reaction, so the others got the message. "Only that my father and his father shall finally know vengeance. People of Xandar, the time has come to rejoice and renounce your paltry gods! Your salvation is at hand." He raised his mallet and yelled in his native language.
Quill started singing O-o-h child By stairsteps, "Listen to these words." He said quickly before continuing. Percy and Gamora shared a look. Silently agreeing that Peter Quill may be the dumbest, yet bravest person to travel the universe. "Now bring it down hard!" and he started dancing.
"What are you doing?" the Kree asked, genuinely confused by what was happening.
"Dance-off, bro. Me and you." He gestured to the green woman who was only a few feet from him holding her side. "Gamora" She shook her head quickly looking genuinely worried for his safety and sanity. "Subtle. Take it back."
"What are you doing?" Ronan yelled this time.
"I'm you, you big turd blossom." Ronan turned to Rocket and Drax who were now rearmed with the Hadron Enforcer powered with a plasma blast this time. It was only good for one shoot, so they had to make it count. Rocket connected the wires and let it fire. They landed it and broke Ronan's mallet destroying it meaning the stone had nothing holding it and made its way to the earth surface. Ronan's eyes widened if the stone touched the surface this way he would die as well. He reached for the stone just as Percy and Quill leapt out towards it before it could reach the planet's surface.
"No!" Gamora yelled as Quill's hand closed around the stone. He screamed in pure agony as purple energy pulsed from Peter and swirled in a violent dark cloud around the five and Ronan. Violet hues pulsed though his nerves, burns and cracks covering every inch of their friend. He would die if he kept the stone in his grasp much longer, "Peter! Take my hand!" Gamora screamed, "take my hand!"
He reached out fighting against the storm and took it. The power taking over her as well, "Gamora!" Percy struggled against the rapid winds, albeit with a little less effort, he reached out for Gamora who slowly and painfully turned to grab his hand. The power stone's energy took him as well.
Voices rang in his head, "Percy you are so special. You are strong."
"And you, Percy are my favorite son."
"I love you."
Sally Jackson, Poseidon and Annabeth Chase. Of all the people he met, of all the people he loved they came to him first. Deep down he knew he still loved them; he knew he still loved Annabeth. She was his past, a past he would never return to, a past he had to leave behind, but he would always carry her with him. She always stood by him.
Drax struggled towards Quill, taking his arm allowing the power to spread out more. Drax letting Rocket take his hand.
They were in pain but managed to contain the power just enough to gain some semblance control. The pain didn't fade but with it so spread out especially with Percy there they contained it to them. They were still dying but slower they weren't dissolving anymore. They were able to bring their gaze back to Ronan who was in awe. "You're mortal! How?"
"You said it yourself, bitch," Quill said surprisingly calmly considering the position he was in. "We're the Guardians of the Galaxy."
He opened his hand allowing the power of the stone to attack Ronan. None of them blinked as he was destroyed. He had caused too much harm to too many people for them to care for his death. Gamora managed enough control to snap an orb over the stone to contain it.
The dark dissipated and the five were left standing in the rubble of the Xandarian capital. Percy fell to the ground images of his lost life still flashing through his mind as he tried to comprehend the fact that he was still alive. "Well, well, well," Yondu and the ravagers surrounded them. Percy acting as if he was trying to stand stumbled behind Quill. "Quite the light show. Ain't this sweet. But you got some business to attend to before all the nookie-nookie starts." Quill hid the orb behind his back allowing Percy to take it and hid it in his jacket handing Quill an empty one.
"Peter, you can't," Gamora told him, breathing heavily. "Peter."
Quill shook his head, "You gotta reconsider this, Yondu. I don't know who you're selling this to, but the only way the universe can survive is if you give it to the Nova Corps. Or if we can get rid of it." he said, glancing behind him at Percy.
"I may be as pretty as an angel," he moved his coat making sure to show Quill his arrow that he could control just by whistling, "but I sure as hell ain't one." He held out his hand in a clear gesture, "hand it over, son."
Quill handed an orb to him quickly with little hesitation, "Yondu. Do not open that Orb. You know that, right?" He asked cautiously. "You've seen what it does to people," Yandu laughed, motioning to his men to retreat but said nothing.
They watched him go before they all fell to the ground, exhausted and pain shooting through them. Quill laughed, "he is gonna be so pissed when he realizes we switched out the orb on him." He motioned to Percy who pulled it out of his jacket.
Gamora chuckled, "He was gonna kill you, Peter."
"Oh I know, but he was the only I had."
Gamora placed a hand over Quills, "No. He wasn't."
"Quill," Percy leaned back against a mound and motioned him towards him. Quill and Percy struggled to meet each other halfway. The demigod placed a hand on the side of Quill's face. "You're an idiot," he laughed, "A stupidly heroic idiot." The Terran felt most of his pain dissipate into a dull ache. Percy removed his hand and reached out for Gamora who got to her knees next to him allowing Percy to heal her as well.
Percy got to his feet, with a lot of difficulty and moved towards Rocket who was sobbing over a few twigs that used to be Groot. He didn't even notice Percy at first, Drax coming to sit next to them. Drax moved in an awkward gesture to pet Rocket's head. Rocket stopped crying and tensed. Percy took his hand and gave him a tight smile and a nod allowing Rocket to let all his emotions overtake him.
He leaned his head forward letting Percy work on his wounds and Drax soon did the same.
~~~
All of them were given clean, not charred, clothes from the Nova Corps, "why would you even know this?" Quill asked if the Nova Corps said they may have found the way Quill was able to survive the power of the stone.
"When we arrested you, we noticed an anomaly in your nervous system, so we had it checked out."
They brought up Quill's body scan, "I'm not Terran?" he asked.
"You are half Terran," Nova Prime answered. "Your mother was of Earth. Your father, well, he's something very ancient we've never seen here before."
"That could be why you were able to hold the stone for as long as you did." Gamora realized.
They brought up Percy's body scan, "You as well. Your mother was Terran, your father as well, seeming to be one of their gods. The god of the sea to be exact." Gamora, turned to Percy. Quill had already known via Percy story but to hear it out loud and confirmed was a shock. Percy was the son of Poseidon, a prince by birth right. He knew of it but never acted like he deserved anything. Gamora was able to take his words, his claim that he was the embodiment of balance more seriously now. "But there's more. A similar anomaly to Mr. Quill, but not in parentage but almost like-"
He chuckled, cutting off Nova Prime, "A blessing? Yeah, I already know all about my weirdness. That's why I tried to grab the stone before Quill." He said, patting Quill on the shoulder. "I didn't think I'd survive but I didn't want Quill to die." The man looked at Percy with a horrified gleam in his eye, they all did. Percy was a few years younger than all of them and he was willing to die for Quill. To die with them was one thing, to die for them was another. "It would be an honor and a sweet relief," Percy assured them.
"Your friends have arrived," Nova Prime announced, breaking up the tension, as Rocket and Drax laned out outside. Percy swapped out the orbs again without anyone noticing. The Nova Corps wanted to keep it but the Guardians of the Galaxy as they were not dubbed knew a better place. A way to mislead Thanos. "On behalf of the Nova Corps, we'd like to express our profound gratitude for your help in saving Xandar. If you will follow Denarian Dey, he has something to show you."
Percy nodded, "Thank you, Nova Prime." He followed Denarian close to Quill.
Gamora followed with Rocket on her right, who was holding a pot which was now the home for Groot's sticks. He had planted them, and they were quickly growing. Drax on her left, "Your wife and child shall rest well knowing that you have avenged them."
"Yes," he nodded, "Of course, Ronan was only a puppet. It's really Thanos I need to kill."
Percy's eyes widened when he heard that. He knew there were some things fate would not allow changed. He would not stand for his friend to be one of the lives she handed disaster, not any time soon at least and definitely not by Thanos' hand. He would find her and Ego's void if he had to.
"We tried to keep it as close to the original as possible," Denarian Dey said, showing them the new and improved Milano. "We salvaged as much as we could."
"Wicked," Percy grinned.
"I... Thank you."
He nodded solemnly, "I have a family. They're alive because of you." The five grinned. "Your criminal records have also been expunged. However, I have to warn you against breaking any laws in the future." Percy raised an eyebrow letting his eyes shift in color, Dey flinched. "Nova prime said you may continue your mission as it is a march towards peace. It's what you were made for, by a being much more powerful than any of us." Rocket pouted as it basically meant Percy was allowed to do as he pleased as long as it was in the name of pure balance. "Though you will be picked up for petty crimes or murder with no reason."
He pointed at Dey with a smirk, "Noted." With that he made his way towards the ship.
"Question. What if I see something that I want to take, and it belongs to someone else?" Rocket asked.
"You will be arrested."
"But what if I want it more than the person who has it?"
"It's still illegal."
"That doesn't follow. No, I want it more, sir. Do you understand?" Gamora chuckled, "what are you laughing at? Why? I can't have a discussion with this gentleman?" She pushed him forward to follow Percy.
Drax stepped forward, "what if someone does something irksome and I decide to remove his spine?"
Dey was silent for a moment, "that's... That's actually murder. It's one of the worst crimes of all. So... also illegal."
He hummed and moved forward, falling in step with the others.
"They'll be fine, Dey," Quill assured. "I'm gonna keep an eye on 'em."
"You?"
He turned to watch his friends with a small smile, "yeah. Me."
When they got back to the Milano, they all gave Quill a moment to read a note from his mom and start playing his new cassette. Percy used the word 'new' loosely since it was decades old by now.
"So, what should we do next?" Quill asked as they were settling into their seats. "Something good? Something bad? A bit of both?"
"We'll follow your lead, Star-Lord," Gamora said leaning on the back of his chair.
He grinned, "bit of both, but first Jackson set a course. Where are we taking that thing?"
Percy pulled the orb out of his bag startling Gamora Rocket and Drax. "Home," he smiled hesitantly. It was a true declaration of the end of a chapter, he was closing the book on his life on Terra for good. He would look back with fond memories, but he would never go back. "Yeah home."

Chapter 10: Chapter Ten
Chapter Text
"So where are we exactly?" Rocket asked.
"A secluded star system, a Void, one of three across the galaxy. No one can find them, unless you know the way that is. This one is my home. It only houses two planets just like the other three. That of Order and that of Chaos. We're headed to Order," he said pointing to a planet that looked like a perfect porcelain ball, like it would shatter if handled roughly.
They touched down on the planet. As soon as they stepped off the ship Percy was tackled in a hug by a beautiful short, tanned woman with long brown hair pulled back in a braid. She was barefoot, wore a black dress that hovered just above the ground and a black crystal crown. As she pulled away, they could see her brown eyes that looked like the galaxy resided in them. She grabbed Percy's ear roughly making him bend down so she could smack him on the shoulder. "Percy Rigel Jackson, do you have any idea how much trouble you're in! You gave me a heart attack." She snapped, dragging him away.
"That's not even possible!" Percy shot back as he was dragged away.
His friends looked confused, A prince of earth, a protector of Peace and a guardian of the Galaxy, was getting scolded at and pulled away by what they could only assume was a mother figure, seeing as his was human. Another woman taller than the first with a fair complexion, blue eyes that looked like stars, and brown hair stepped forward. "Come children," she giggled in a soft voice. She wore a white long sleeve dress that just grazed the ground with long locks that rolled down her back and a white crystal crown.
They followed the woman to a palace in the distance listening to Percy get reamed at the whole way there. When they finally stepped inside, Percy was released, and the guardians welcomed with open arms. "Welcome to Orders planet young heroes," Percy rubbed his ear with a pout.
"Percy the orb" The young man took it out of the inside pocket of his jacket and handed it to Order.
"You have done wonderfully young heroes; I will send this back to destruction's void Thanos will never find it." She bowed to the heroes as a mutual sign of respect. "These were never meant to be released upon the universe. They were not gifts, they were accidents. Products of our creation. Power from destruction. Time with Fate, Reality made from Chaos."
"Soul with Peace, Space from Ego, Mind made of Order."
"No being of Mortality should find them, Mortals are reckless and harmful at times with very few good ones like yourselves. We had taken many precautions but in recent years the stones have been taken from their prisons, found and moved. We suspect fate is playing a game with all of us. To her life is a joke, mortals are playthings, and their suffering is not to be taken seriously. Sometimes I wonder if we should just start over again with her." Chaos and Order were the creators of the other four concepts, but Fate had been taking this too far for eons. Breaking apart their creation and reconfiguring her into one that would work with Percy for balance was looking pretty good right now. She bowed her head "excuse me." With that she whisked away.
"You five must be exhausted and hungry," Chaos said in a motherly voice. As she said that Drax's stomach growled. She laughed loudly and beckoned them forward.
The guardians were uncomfortably silent for a moment, they were in the presence of the creator of the universe. "Chaos saved me, seeing all I had done for Terra. She figured I could do the same for the universe. She has no true form, so she Manifested into the form of someone I cared for. It's kind of weird now considering how I call her mom or Dad, but she manifests into people who were like siblings, or I would call friends rather than my actual mother. This form is that of a Nymph slash Titaness named Zoe Nightshade. A great friend and one of the bravest heroes I ever met."
"What happened to her," Gamora could sense the sadness coming off his words, she was no longer with him.
"Killed by her own father while saving Terra. She made my sword. I fought many battles with it. I felt like I would be dishonoring her to leave it in the Klyn To let someone else wield it without knowing its history."
They all absorbed Percy's words as they came to the dining room where Chaos clapped, and mountains of food appeared. Drax looked like he died and went to elysium. "How exactly did she save you?" Quill asked.
"I'll let you kids talk," She whisked away after stealing a turkey leg off the table.
Percy sat down and played with his thumbs, and off Percy went on to explain everything to his new family. From his very first quest, through Hera's kidnapping, through Tartarus and up to the moment he was killed by Zues. "Chaos saved me before I got to the underworld. She brought me here, gave me a blessing, and set me out on the universe. And the rest, as they say, Is history."
The other four were sat in frozen horror and astonishment, "I can't believe you did all that. And no wonder you flinch at a shock." Rocket said, trying not to let on how awesome he thought it was that Percy could control someone's blood. He had enough sense to see that, that was a sensitive topic.
"I'm not harmed by a shock it's like a phantom pain though, I remember the feeling of Zues killing me."
"I can't believe they turned on such a brave hero so easily." Drax snapped.
"It wasn't all bad." he shrugged, "If I didn't 'die' I would have never met you guys. And I'm not one for 'chick flick' moments but I really don't know where I'd be otherwise considering how quick they were to turn on me."
"But don't you ever miss your mom? Or that girl um, Annabeth?" Quill asked knowing how it felt to never see someone close to you again.
He nodded, "Everyday but I keep close tabs on them both." Percy stood and motioned for them to follow him. He led them through an endless maze of halls before they came to a room that was bare except for a ball hovering in the middle. Percy placed his hand on it, "Show me earth, AKA Terra, Manhattan, Sally Blofis, Paul Blofis, and Estelle Blofis. The room shifted into what looked like a living room where a man with Salt and Pepper hair was reading to a little girl with black hair with strands of sea green strewn about. A woman walked in with a plate of blue cookies. "This is a Satyr." The man told her pointing to a picture in the book.
"Like Grover?" She giggled.
"Yes, exactly like Grover," the woman laughed.
"But Grover has little horns," she pinched her fingers close together.
"Grover is still a little Satyr," Paul answered.
Percy smiled and sat down on the floor next to Estelle, "This is my little sister. She never got to meet me though Zeus killed me before she was born. She looks about six now but I'm not really sure."
Sally looked at the clock on the wall, "Oh, that's bedtime."
"Awe" Estelle whined but followed her parents with no trouble stealing a cookie off the plate in the process. The room shifted into a little girls bedroom and the couch Percy was sitting by turned into a bed.
"Goodnight Darling," Paul and Sally kissed their daughter goodnight.
"Don't forget Percy," she said, lifting the picture frame off her nightstand. Inside was a picture of Percy; he looked just as broken but almost at peace. The room disappeared before the mother could say goodnight to the picture.
Percy turned to them with unshed tears, "She would have loved you four." He placed his hand on the orb again, "Show me earth, AKA Terra Alaska, Annabeth Chase."
A blonde about the same age as Percy sat at a counter, wrapped in a varsity swim jacket, a pair of blue shorts and gray socks. The back of the jacket read; Jackson 3 Goode high. She had a book open and a sandwich in hand. "Annabeth!" She jumped and looked in the Guardians direction. A young man about three or four years younger than her walked right through Quill startling him. "Me and Will are gonna go to the movies. I wanna come."
She shook her head, "I have finals tomorrow."
He nodded, "Throw that Jacket on top of the laundry basket I have to get it dry cleaned again."
And the scene vanished.
~~~
A few days later after sleeping on the most comfortable beds in the Galaxy, the five guardians were packing up to set back off into the vast unknown. They each had been paid for the orb by Order giving them enough money to last for the next two years at least.
Quill and Gamora had gone to her asking for her to set up a surprise for Percy in his quarters of the ship.
He was the last to come trudging to the Milano. Chaos now in the form of a muscular woman with choppy blond hair, a scar on her chin and vindictive brown eyes, asked "Do you have everything?"
"Yes mom."
"And you're not planning to hold an infinity stone again right."
"Right."
"And you're-"
"Mom!" Percy laughed.
"Oh, I'm sorry, just be safe." She said hugging her son. It was an odd feeling for Percy to have a vision of Clarisse hugging him. She cared for him later in their teenage years but never to the extent of a hug.
"I will bye, mom."
He just waved but then Order called out, "Oh and Quill" He looked out at him, "When you finally see your dad tell him Aunt Order says he still owes his brothers and sisters a visit." Chaos smirked walking back towards the palace, With The still female Order following behind.
Quill's mouth dropped, "He's an all-knowing deity." Percy said casually, making Quill even more surprised.
"Does that make us related?"
Percy shook his head, "I call her mom or dad and Order Ommar as a term of endearment more than an actual act of relation. She didn't really adopt me; she would never try to replace my real mother or father. I'm just their champion. One they care about a lot but just a champion, nonetheless."
Quill shook himself out of his shock and he and Gamora led Percy to his Quarters. "We went to Order and though it's not as big as your room on her planet," Gamora trailed off and let Quill hit a button on the wall revealing his planet orb. "So, you can still watch after your mother and Annabeth."
"And find us some fun places to go."
Percy let a water smile come to him as he hugged the two. "You guys are honestly the best." Gamora would never admit it, but she liked how comfortable she felt in the hug. Quill would come to admit in the following months that Percy was becoming like a brother to him. "Come on Star-lord." He said sniffing, pulling away from the hug, "You promised a bit of both."
Quill shook himself out of his thoughts and made his way with Gamora and Percy in tow to his captain's seat, "yea a bit of both."
The Guardians of The Galaxy will Return.
