Chapter 1: the
Chapter Text
Rain was pouring down Cody's window. He stared out at the small town he lived in. A cup of tea was in his hands to warm on that cold day. He took a sip of his tea, looking at the book in front of him. He pulled the small blanket he had on his legs and wrapped himself in it. His parents were out of town, like they always were, so Cody had the whole house to be by himself. He figured this was probably the best last day he had before his final year of high school. What would school be like, now that he had been on international television? Would he suddenly be popular? Maybe online school would be the option.
Nevertheless, he set his cup on his beside table and tried focusing on his book. He was getting into it when he heard his phone go off. He picked it up, thinking it would be Noah or maybe Gwen, seeing as he talked to those two all the time. But he froze when he saw who the message was from.
Message from: Sierra
Cody was only friends with Sierra during the show so she'd get off of his back a bit. He didn't really want to be friends, much less close friends. He opened the message.
Sierra: I'm transferring to your school
Cody dropped his phone onto the bed, immediately covering his mouth with his hands. No...it couldn't be. How did she know where he went to school? How did she get his phone number?
He immediately grabbed his phone, trying to call his parents. Come on, pick up, pick up pickup pickuppickup-
He groaned as he heard the ringing go to voicemail. He kept trying to contact his parents. He just needed to talk to them. He simply dropped his phone back onto his bed after about the eight time he heard the same 'You have reached the voicemail of..' message. He leaned back into his bed, rubbing his face with his hands in stress. How was he going to get out of this? Would the teachers care if Sierra was clinging to him the whole day, or would they see it as seniors goofing off and ignore them? Now he was certain online schooling would be the best option.
Cody looked at his phone when he heard it go off, sighing in relief when he saw it was his dad calling him. He answered the phone.
"Why are you calling?" His dad's voice boomed from the other side.
"Can I do online school this year?" Cody asked, flinching when he got the answer.
"Absolutely not! We paid good money to get you into this school, and there's no way you're dropping out!" His dad yelled from the other end.
"Well-" Cody cleared his throat as his voice cracked. "I didn't say I was dropping out. I said I wanted to do online school this year."
"You've done in-class school for years, and you'll finish in-class!"
"Right."
"I can't believe it."
"Sorry."
"My son wanting to do online school."
"Sorry, dad...it was a dumb question.."
He heard his dad sigh. "No, it wasn't...I'm just tired."
"You should get some rest, then." Cody leaned back into his bed.
"Maybe I will...you're still going to school in person."
"Right."
"I'll be calling to make sure you get up."
"Alright, dad."
"Bye, Cody."
"Bye."
Cody groaned, tossing his phone back down onto his bed. He glanced at his clock on his beside table. Seeing as it was a few hours until Cody usually went to bed, Cody got out of bed. He grabbed his cup, heading to the kitchen. He dumped out the now cold tea, starting to microwave leftovers from the night before. Once the leftovers were done, he took them back upstairs and turned on a movie. He soon finished eating, then kept watching the movie, hoping to get his mind off of having to leave the safety of his empty house the next day.
//
Cody opened his eyes to hear his phone ringing. When did he fall asleep..? He grabbed his phone, looking at the contact. He answered when he saw it was his dad.
"Are you getting up, Cody?" His dad asked.
Cody yawned a bit. "Yeah, yeah..I'm getting up."
"If you want to make it to school, you better hurry." His dad then hung up.
Cody rolled his eyes, placing his phone on the beside table. He then got up, quickly getting ready. He didn't want to try too hard, but he still wanted to be presentable. Once he deemed he looked good enough, he grabbed his backpack and laptop, heading out the door. He got into his car, starting to drive, already dreading what the day may bring him.

Chapter Text
Cody hummed along to the radio in his car as he drove to school. He glanced at the time on his car radio, seeing as he still had plenty of time to get to school. He then looked up, realizing how close he was to school anyway.
He parked his car, getting out and grabbing his things before locking his car and walking into the school. He was immediately recognized, though everyone mostly just called him by his name and congratulated him for getting as far as he did. Cody was far more relieved by this than he thought.
He got to his locker, trying to unlock it. He didn't try to get it open too quickly. It wasn't like he'd have a group to go hang out with. At least he could look at his phone while he waited for the bell. Once he opened his locker, he reached into his pocket to pull out...nothing.
Well, shit. What now? The first bell was already so close to ringing. Cody figured he'd just have to go get it during lunch break. Yeah..that would be what he would do. He felt better-
"Cody!!"
Until he didn't. He recognized that voice. He recognized it too well.
Cody, in a moment of panic, jumped into his locker and shut the door, jamming a piece of paper into the top of his locker before shutting it so he could get out later. He watched Sierra walk past the locker, and after a few moments, Cody determined he was safe. He got out of his locker, only to jump when he heard Sierra right in his ear. "Hi, Cody-kins!"
Cody jumped, knocking himself into his open locker door. "S-Sierra! Hey.." Cody was immediately scooped into Sierra's grasp, hearing some of his back crack as she squeezed him.
"Oh Cody-kins! I missed you so much!" Sierra let Cody go eventually, letting Cody catch his breath. "You weren't answering my texts this morning, though!"
"O-Oh. I left my phone at home." Cody rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
"I already moved my classes around so we could be in the same classes!!"
"H...How many?" Cody gasped out.
"Almost all of them!" Sierra giggled. "They wouldn't let me out of P.E., though."
Cody paled. "That's...oh wow..."
"I know!" Sierra giggled, grabbing Cody's hand. "Let's head to our first class!" Sierra dragged Cody away, Cody already knowing he was going to dread the day.
///
Cody stared at the school lunch in front of him. He couldn't be bothered to eat. He heard Sierra sit next to him.
"Cody? Why aren't you eating? Let me help you!" She grabbed Cody's fork, shoveling food onto it. She then brought the fork to Cody's lips. Cody moved his head away, then grabbed the fork to try and stop Sierra. Sierra simply kept trying to feed Cody until he finally spoke up.
"I'm not hungry. You can have it." Cody refused to make eye contact with her. He simply watched as she moved his food onto her tray.
"At least drink your milk, Cody-kins~" Sierra cooed, eating her and Cody's food.
Cody sighed. He sipped on his milk, hoping that Sierra would stop talking to him for the time being.
"I know where you live now," Sierra spoke calmly.
Cody snorted the milk he was drinking from his nose. He coughed a bit. "Y-You what?!"
"Mhm!" Sierra smiled, still eating. "I saw you pulling out of your driveway on my way to school.
Cody started to shake. "I-I'm gonna go scrape real quick.." He quickly grabbed his empty tray, minus one milk carton, heading to the trash cans to throw away his milk carton, then to return his tray. He breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the bell ring. Lunch was over, and Sierra had P.E. He didn't have to deal with her for a whole hour. He walked back to his table, grabbing his bag as he watched Sierra rush to clear her tray. Cody took this moment to run to his next class, fearing that if he waited around, Sierra would come back.
///
Cody sat down for the last period of the day breathing a sigh of relief. The day was almost done. He could soon go home and relax and forget about today. He heard someone take a seat next to him and was not at all surprised to see Sierra. However, he was surprised to see her pouting. Her eyebrows were furrowed in anger, her arms crossed over her chest, and her lower lip was out more than her upper lip. Cody tried to ignore her, hoping she was angry enough over whatever it was that she would leave Cody alone.
"Someone made fun of you during P.E!" Sierra huffed at Cody.
"Oh. Did they?" Cody shrugged. "It's not that big of a deal."
"Of course it's a big deal!" Sierra unfolded her arms, suddenly grinning. "I showed him that they shouldn't make fun of you!"
Cody's eyes widened as he finally looked at her. "What did you do?!"
"Let's just say I'm serving detention for the next week," Sierra giggled. "But it's worth it if it means the students here know not to mess with you!"
Cody bit his lip, nervous. "O-Oh..."
Sierra giggled. "I love you, Codykins!" she declared
Cody didn't respond, fear very clearly prominent in his face. What was she going to do to him?
"Codykins? Don't you love me?" Sierra grabbed Cody's wrists. "You love me, right?"
Fear took over Cody's brain. He didn't want her to hurt him. "Okay, okay, I love you too." He cried out suddenly. The words just slipped out. He hadn't meant it. But now, the damage was done. And Sierra stared at him through the rest of class.

Chapter Text
Cody unlocked the door to his house, quickly slamming the door behind him. His breaths were shallow and sharp, and he struggled to get any breaths in at all. He grabbed his phone with his shaky hands, quickly scrolling through his contacts. He clicked on one contact in particular, then clicked the call button. He put the phone up to his ear, hoping to hear the contact's voice, just once. He prayed that he picked up. Pickup Pickuppickuppickup-
"Cody?"
"Noah.."
Noah could probably hear the anxiety from the other. "what's going on, Cody?"
"Um.." Cody tried to get in a breath.
"Deep breaths, Cody.."
"Okay.."
Cody started taking some deep breaths. His hands stopped shaking, but his heart wouldn't stop pounding.
"Better?"
"Yeah.."
"Can you tell me what's wrong, then?"
"Yeah..." Cody took another deep breath. "Sierra goes to my school...and she's in almost every one of my classes...sh-she told me she changed her schedule so we were always together.. I said I loved her to get her to leave me alone..."
Noah was quiet on the other end.
"I-I know it was stupid, but I was p-panicked, a-and-"
"No, no, I get it. It's okay. Well, I mean, it's not, but I understand."
"What do I do, Noah? You're smart. You can help, right?"
"Well, I'd personally get the school involved and have your classes moved, so you're not seeing Sierra every class."
"W-Well, she's not in every one of my classes-"
"Cody."
"Right. Sorry."
"How many classes does she have with you?"
"All except one."
"Soooo what you're getting at is she's in every class BUT one?"
"Yes?" Cody hesitated.
"Cody, you have to get those changed-"
"But-"
"Do you want to have all these classes with her or not?"
"No..." Cody sighed a bit.
"Then listen." Cody put his all of his attention on the voice on the other end. "Email the person who is in charge of your classes and request to move some. If they're optional classes, just drop the class."
"Should I wait until the last day to change classes to actually change classes?"
Noah went silent for a bit. "Uuuhm...yeah. So that way Sierra can't change her classes last minute as well.."
"Okay...Thanks, Noah.." Cody spoke softly, feeling calmer now that he had talked to his friend. "You...didn't have to answer, you know.."
Noah chuckled. "Well, I wasn't doing anything else, so I had no reason not to answer."
"What about homework?"
"Are you really assuming that I have homework?"
"You started a week before me!"
"That's not what I mean. I mean you're assuming that I just didn't get it done during school."
"Right."
"That's coolio."
Cody laughed. "Coolio, indeed."
"What's so funny?"
"You're starting to sound like me."
"Barf."
"I know. Barf."
"How about I come down on Friday?"
"That's a two hour drive!"
"And? Not like I'll be doing much here. The least I can do is hang out with people I tolerate."
"Aww. You tolerate me."
"Barely." Noah replied sarcastically.
"I mean, sure we can hang out, though there isn't much to do down here."
"That's fine."
"Alright."
"I can help you with homework that you're inevitably not going to understand."
"If I'm switching classes, I won't have to understand."
"Touche. Alright. I gotta head out. Eva's coming over."
"Tell her I said hi."
"She'll probably just huff in response, but I will."
Cody laughed. "Alright."
"Alright. Bye."
"Bye."
Cody hung up, then headed upstairs. He instantly pulled out his computer. He was going to have a long wait, but at least the wait would be worth it.
///
"So, you're wanting to switch all your classes?" The school's counselor glanced up at Cody, staring at him with her stern eyes.
Cody shook a bit in his seat. "W-Well, really just one or two."
"So, you want to drop the one optional class you have, and what do you want to replace it with?" She typed on her computer.
"I was thinking band.." Cody bit his lip.
She stopped typing, glanced at Cody, then continued typing. "Since band is in the first period of the day, you'd have to move all your classes. Are you okay with that?"
"Perfectly fine with that, ma'am."
"Alright. I'll let your teachers know. You'll have your new schedule later tonight."
"Okay."
"We'll see you tomorrow, Mr. Anderson." She gave a stiff smile to the boy, who returned one before leaving. He returned to his car, got into the passenger seat, then pulled out his phone, calling the one person who he wanted to talk to.
"Cody?"
"Noah. I fucking did it."
///
Cody heard the slam of Sierra's tray on the lunch table right in front of where he was sitting. He looked up from his phone to see her angry gaze. She sat at the table, glaring at Cody.
"Cody. You haven't messaged me ever since you said you love me. And you didn't even tell me you were switching classes!" Sierra picked at her food. "If I had known, I would've switched my classes as well. But now I can't!"
Cody shrugged a bit. "Sorry, Sierra. I just wanted to take a different class. I didn't realize it would change my whole schedule."
"You should've still told me! Don't you love me?!" Sierra was shouting now. People were getting interested.
"Sierra, please...please calm down-"
"No! You should let me know these things! After all, we're dating!"
"We are?!" Cody was then scooped up by Sierra, who's mood had entirely changed. She was now a squealing, smiling girl.
"Oh Cody! I knew you would agree with me!" Sierra hugged Cody closer. "We're dating! And soon, we'll get married!" She gasped. "How many kids do you want?!"
Cody pushed away as he heard the students watching snicker a bit. Cody went and scraped his tray, then headed out of the lunchroom. He grabbed his things and started to leave when he heard Sierra again. "Cody!"
Cody glanced over, seeing Sierra run to him. "Cody!" She stopped right before Cody. "I know I might seem overly obsessed, so I thought we could go get ice cream tonight and maybe we can get to know each other a bit!"
Cody sighed hesitantly. Maybe getting to know all of Sierra wouldn't be the worst thing ever. Plus, he'd never hear the end of it if he didn't accept. "Fine!"
Sierra squealed, hugging Cody again. "This will be great!" She then let go, rushing off to detention. "I'll see you later, Cody-kins!"
Cody hesitantly rushed to his car. What in the world was he going to do? Why did he agree?
But, at the very least, he could get some information about her and report her to the school administration.
At most, she was actually a decent person. He doubted that, but still.
Cody soon started driving home, knowing he would have to look somewhat decent if he didn't want Sierra making too big of a fuss.
Chapter 4: rare
Chapter Text
"It wasn't too bad," Cody told Noah that night.
"That's a surprise." Noah replied. Cody could hear Noah typing. "She didn't attack you or anything, did she? Were you high when you went?"
"No! I wasn't! She even apologized for drugging me back during World Tour!" Cody looked through his nail polish. "What color should I paint my nails?"
"Mh..black, I guess," Noah replied. "But, Cody, this is crazy! You can't be telling me you're considering of forgiving her?"
"No, god no," Cody chuckled, grabbing his black nail polish. "I'm just saying, maybe now that she realized she's wrong, maybe she'll respect my boundaries once I tell her."
"And that'll be soon, right?"
"Totally."
"Cody."
"I'm serious, Noah. It will be soon. Tomorrow, even."
"Sure."
"Okay, maybe the day after that. But soon, I promise!"
"Alright...but if I don't hear from you tomorrow, I'm going to assume she killed you." Noah went quiet for a minute. "Should I paint my nails?"
"Sparkly blue."
"Disgusting."
Cody snickered. "Alright, paint them rainbow."
"Hey, I'm not that out yet." Noah chuckled.
"Then paint them purple and blue. Maybe pink, too. It's subtle enough, right?"
"I might just do one color at a time."
"That works."
"Listen, Cody? I'm gonna call you later. My phone's at 4%." Noah chuckled.
"Get it plugged in, man!" Cody giggled.
"Bye, Cody."
"Bye, Noah."
Noah hung up.
//
"Hey Cody!" Sierra giggled, sitting down by Cody at lunch.
"Hey, Sierra." Cody took a bite of the sandwich. He figured he could at least try to eat.
"I loved our date last night!" Sierra chirped, causing Cody to nearly choke on the food in his mouth.
Cody swallowed, then looked at Sierra. "I think we should set some boundaries."
"Well, of course! I wouldn't want my Cody-kins to feel nervous around me~" Sierra cooed.
Cody cringed at the nickname. "Okay, well, first off, don't call me that."
"What?! Why not?!" Sierra pouted.
"It's embarrassing.." Cody hid his face in his hands, his face feeling hot. Was he really blushing right now?!
Sierra just hummed. "Can I call you it when we're alone?"
"Sure, I guess." Cody soon removed his face from his hands. "Number two," Cody giggled, as he has the mentality of a two year old.
"You're funny."
"Thanks. I-I mean-" He shook his head. "Number two, no bone crushing hugs."
Sierra tilted her head a bit, but then just smiled. "I think I can do that.."
"Okay, uh...number three! Don't scream my name every time you see me."
"I'm just excited to see you!" Sierra pouted, crossing her arms.
"I...I know...but it distracts others from what they're doing." When Sierra just gave him a blank stare, he tried a different approach. "It distracts me from what I'm doing."
Sierra gasped. "I wouldn't want to distract. Okay Cody! I'll try and work on that!"
"Number four, no stalking."
"But how will I know everything about you?!"
"You already do know everything about me!" Cody frowned. Maybe this wasn't working as well as he thought. He then got up to scrape, ending the conversation right where it was.
///
Cody was scrolling through his Netflix once he was home, only to hear a knock at the door. He got up and opened it, only to find Sierra standing there.
"Hi Cody!" She casually walked in, a spring in her step.
"Sierra?!" Cody closed the door, not wanting any bugs to fly in. "What are you doing here?"
"Well, you didn't say anything about me coming over, did you?" Sierra looked at Cody.
"I...guess not."
"And this isn't considered stalking because I only knew where you live because I saw you on the way to school."
"I suppose that's true..."
"Great!" Sierra plopped onto the couch. "What are you watching?"
Cody hesitantly sat down by Sierra. "Nothing yet. You can pick something if you want."
Sierra went to the search tab, typing in a movie she wanted. She then clicked it, starting the movie.
The two watched the movie silently, not a word being spoken by the two. Cody relaxed a bit at the silence. There was hardly any weird tension between the two at the moment, and that was relaxing.
"Do you want me to get you a drink?" Sierra asked.
"Uh...sure. Just water, though." Cody spoke, not wanting to take too many chances.
Sierra got up, skipping her way to the kitchen. Cody sat up a bit, bouncing his leg anxiously as he waited for her to come back.
Sierra soon came back, handing Cody some very clear water. It couldn't be drugged, right? There was nothing in the water, right?
Cody drank the water, but he never quite made it to the end of the movie before he blacked out.
///
He woke up hours later, Sierra asleep and Cody within her arms. He leaned up slightly. What the hell was going on?
Sierra tugged him closer, and Cody couldn't help but lean into her. Maybe it was his drug-induced state talking, but he felt much better when in Sierra's arms. And maybe if he were sober, that thought would terrify him. But, sleepy drugged-up Cody didn't care if that was weird. He snuggled back into Sierra's hold, blacking out once more.
Chapter 5: and
Chapter Text
Cody listened to the thumping of the music. This is where Sierra wanted to take him. A party. He stepped out of Sierra's car, looking inside to see all of the people dancing and all the making out within the second floor rooms who's curtains weren't closed.
Sierra grabbed Cody's hand, dragging the other towards the house. Cody heard her say something, but he couldn't process what it was. He was then tugged into the house, where the combined affects of the smell of alcohol, all these teenagers dancing around or making out, or just the feel of it all made him feel awkward.
Sierra gave him a red solo cup, which he took with a "thank you." He checked it first to see if it seemed at all suspicious, then took tiny sips. He only started drinking more when he was egged on by some other party-goers.
Cody felt looser after a while. There was sort of this feeling that it wasn't really Cody there, like Cody was more so watching what he did. He only started realizing what was going on when he suddenly felt dizzy. He blinked for one second, and suddenly, he was outside of the party, phone in his hand as he listened to the ringing of his phone.
A very tired voice came from the other end. "Cody..? Why are you calling? It's three in the morning.." Noah grumbled.
"Noahhh..." Cody slumped against the porch. "...I don't knowww where ttthhe fuck I ammm..."
"Cody? Are you drunk?" Noah asked, suddenly concerned. "You don't know where you're at? How do you feel?"
Cody took a moment to process Noah's words. "Like...like..." Cody blinked, exhaustion growing over him. "The showww..."
"The show? What do you mean?" Noah took a minute to process this. "World Tour?"
"Mhmm..." Cody felt his body crash to the ground, and just like that, his world went black.
///
For a brief moment, Cody heard this wailing sound. Stomping was heard, some people were screaming, others were arguing. He could briefly make out flashing lights before his vision went dark again.
When he did open his eyes next, all he saw was white. And for a moment, he panicked. Was he dead?! But, when he heard his heart monitors speed up as he panicked, he realized that, no, he wasn't dead. But he was in the hospital.
Before Cody could sit up, he heard a "Cody!" and was immediately pounced on Cody, hugging him tight. "I'm so glad you're okay!"
"Too close..too close!" Cody gasped in breath as he was let go once again.
Sierra cupped Cody's face in her hands, staring at him. "I was so worried about you, Cody!"
"What...What even happened?" Cody rubbed his head.
"What do you remember?" Sierra tilted her head.
"I...really remembering getting out of your car and walking into somewhere, but I don't remember where..." Cody shook his head. "I don't remember anything else."
Sierra hummed. "We went over to my friend's house, and we found you passed out on the porch. We don't know what happened!"
"Sorry about making you worry.." Cody rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. He really did feel bad about making people worry..
"That's okay, Cody! I'm just glad you're safe now!" She pressed a kiss to Cody's forehead, which he actually smiled at. The Cody Emmett Jameson Anderson smiled when she kissed him.
"I'm going to go get a doctor for you!" Sierra then skipped out of the room. Her stuff was laying in a chair.
Cody leaned back into the bed, trying to remember anything about what had happened. What even went down that night? What happened after walking into the place? Was it really Sierra's friend? And what had even happened at said friend's house.
The doctor was in and out soon enough. Cody really didn't feel the doctor said or did anything noteworthy, but he also hadn't been paying close attention, since Sierra talked to the doctor almost the entire time.
Once the doctor left, Cody looked at Sierra. "What time is it?"
"About 2:30." Sierra replied, checking Cody's phone once it went off. She frowned a bit. "Apparently-"
"Cody!" Noah rushed into the room, followed by none other than Eva and Izzy.
Cody smiled, trying to sit up. "Hey, guys.."
Noah embraced the other, Noah's touch being sincere but gentle, unlike Sierra's, who's touch seemed more possessive and tight. Cody couldn't help but immediately hug back, wrapping his arms around Noah.
"Are you alright, Cody?" Eva asked, removing the two from the moment.
Cody nodded. "I don't really remember anything that happened, but other than that, I'm doing okay."
"You had us worried!" Noah practically yelled, evident that he was worried.
"We heard you were dying!" Izzy shouted.
"Dying?" Cody looked confused. "I mean, I thought I died when I woke up, and man was that scary, but I'm okay."
Noah sighed. "At least you're okay..God, one moment I'm leaving your house to go back home, and the next I'm ditching school to make sure this dweeb didn't die on me!"
"Sorry for worrying you and everything.." Cody once again rubbed the back of his neck apologetically.
"We're just glad you're okay," Eva mumbled.
"Did someone hurt you?" Izzy asked, bouncing on her toes. "Because I will totally kill that person if they hurt you."
"I don't...think I was hurt." Cody tried to remember. "i just feel a little sick. Maybe I just ate something bad."
"Maybe..." Noah mumbled, glancing at Sierra, who met Noah's gaze with a cold stare. Once Noah looked away, Sierra pushed the Rohypnol down to the bottom of her purse. Even if Noah did find it, it would be easy enough to pass off as prescription. Although, she shouldn't have put so much into Cody's drinks. That was the one and only thing she took away from this.

Cody woke up one morning, wrapped up in Sierra's arms once again. He had woken up like this on multiple occasions. Except this time, he was happy to be in her arms.
He glanced at the clock on his beside table, seeing as it was still hours before they actually had to get up for school. Cody rolled back over to Sierra, thinking about his schedule. Should he change his schedule again so he could be with Sierra? Or would Sierra change her schedule?
Sierra tugged Cody closer, speaking. "You're awake, too?"
Cody nodded. "Yeah..."
"We're going to be able to switch our schedules soon," Sierra gushed. "I'll join band so we have classes together!"
"You want to join band?" Cody looked at her.
"I know plenty of instruments! I'm sure they'll let me in!"
Cody nodded. "I'm going to try and get more sleep. Goodnight, Sierra." He shut his eyes, drifting back to sleep.
Sierra stared at Cody with a heartfelt gaze. Cody was finally hers. Not Gwen's. Not Noah's. Hers. All that work that she did to make Cody hers finally paid off. She shut her eyes, resting well with Cody in her arms.
///
"Now, let me understand this, Sierra." The school's counselor looked at Sierra, her eyes baring into Sierra. However, unlike Cody, Sierra just stared back.
"You want to switch to band?" the counselor asked.
"Yup."
"You do realize we know of what you did to Mr. Anderson during the show, right?" the counselor glared.
"Oh, don't worry! Now we're fine!" Sierra reassured her. "You can even ask him!"
The counselor checked to see which class Cody would be in, then made a call to his teacher.
Cody soon walked into the office, walking to the seat and sitting down by Sierra.
"Mr. Anderson, is it true that you and Sierra are on good terms now?"
"Yes, ma'am." Cody gripped Sierra's hand.
The counselor raised an eyebrow, but simply changed Sierra's schedule around. "If you insist..thank you two."
Sierra and Cody stood up, walking out of the office. Sierra pressed a kiss to Cody's lips. And while Cody kissed back, he couldn't help but feel like something was wrong.
///
"Cody?"
"Yes, Sierra?"
"Do you love me?"

"Sierra?"
"Yes, Cody?
"I don't feel well again."
"Don't worry, Cody-kins! I'll take care of you!"
///
"You haven't called in a week."
"Sorry, Noah. I've been busy."
"With Sierra?"
"I've also been sleeping all day every day. I keep getting sick."
"You were sick last week, too. Something's going on.."
"Nope. Nothing's wrong, Noah."
"Alright.."
"I gotta go. Talk to you later?"
"Yeah, sure."
Noah put his phone down as he heard the beep of the phone call ending. Something was wrong, and Sierra was being more off than normal. Izzy tried to insist it was just because Sierra and Cody were finally dating, but Noah wasn't convinced. He walked out of his room, stepping outside. The air was cool, but not quite cold enough that he dreaded being outside. He stepped beyond his house, walking on the sidewalk. He tried to clear his mind of Cody. Cody was fine, right? Surely, Sierra must have grown if Cody was even willing to date her, right?
Noah sighed, stopping in his tracks. He knew something was wrong. There was no way in hell this relationship was healthy. He pulled out his phone, pressed call on the contact, then put the phone to his ear.
"Noah?"
"What are you doing tomorrow, Eva?"
///
"He gave you a key?" Eva asked. "Also, why are we skipping school for this?"
Noah got out his key. "Because..." Noah sighed a bit, unlocking the door and walking in. "I just have a really bad feeling. Like something's wrong."
Eva nodded, walking in. "Well, this is as good of a place as any to start."
"You check downstairs, I'll check upstairs." Noah nodded at Eva, who started looking right away. Noah headed to Cody's room, starting to look around. He found all the normal stuff that there usually was in Cody's room, except now there was a photo of him and Sierra in a frame, right next to a framed photo of him and Noah.
Noah stared at the photos for a bit. Was Noah just...jealous? Maybe that was it. Maybe Noah just saw something wrong with their relationship because he wanted to be with Cody. Noah had never really admitted it to himself, but now he supposed it was true. Maybe Sierra really had changed..
"Noah!"
Or maybe not.
Noah headed downstairs, being careful not to step on the bad steps. He hopped to the bottom of the stairs, walking into the kitchen, where Eva's shouting had been heard. "What is it?"
Eva had been staring into the trash can when she heard Noah. She looked up at him. "You're going to want to see this."
Noah walked over, and what he saw within the trash can made his eyes widen. There were boxes and boxes full of empty Rohypnol containers. There was no way Cody or Sierra had to take that much medication, so that only meant one thing:
"She's drugging Cody."

"You need to stop talking to Noah!" Sierra shouted at Cody, weeks after Noah and Eva had come down.
"Why?! He's my best friend!" Cody shouted back, his face red from frustration.
"He's telling you lies about me! He's EVIL!"
"He's not evil! You just don't trust him!"
Sierra then went quiet. "Cody.." she cupped the other's face in her hands. "I know bad people when I see them. And I know that Noah and Eva are up to no good, Cody."
Cody glanced away from Sierra, and Sierra sighed. "Cody, please trust me..please.."
Cody was quiet for a bit. "Okay..." he finally spoke. "I trust you.."
Sierra smiled, pressing a kiss to Cody's head. "Let's go out tonight!"
Cody gave a small smile. "Okay. Where?"
"Why don't we go see a movie?!" Sierra giggled."I hear they're showing Twilight tonight!"
"Sure, I sup-" Cody didn't have time to finish before Sierra dragged him out the door.
///
Cody threw some popcorn into his mouth as he watched the movie. He couldn't help but feel that the scene felt all too familiar to something...
Sierra cuddled into Cody, who wrapped his arm around her in return.
Sierra giggled. "Aren't Bella and Edward so romantic, Cody~?"
"I...I guess..?" Cody seemed unsure. "Edward's a little...creepy."
Sierra giggled. "I don't think so. I think he's romantic, but not as romantic as you~"
Cody couldn't help the blush that spread across his face. Sierra giggled, stole some popcorn from Cody, then went back to watching the movie. And while Cody still felt off, he went back to watching the movie once again.
///
Cody got up during his dinner date with Sierra. "I need to use the bathroom. I'll be right back. I promise."
Sierra giggled. "Okay, Cody-kins~ I'll be here."
Cody headed into the bathroom. He honestly just needed to get away for a few minutes. He pulled out his phone, texting Noah.
Cody: Hey, Noah.
Noah: We need to talk, Cody.
Cody: Okay?
Noah: We found boxes among boxes of Rohpynol in your trash can.
Cody: We?
Noah: Eva and I came down a few weeks ago while you were in school.
Cody: So you broke into my house?
Noah: Not technically, since I used the key you gave me.
Cody: Okay? Why didn't you stay?
Noah: I feel that Sierra wouldn't have been happy to see me. Besides, we only came down because of a suspicion I had
Cody: You just don't like that Sierra and I are together.
Noah: Because she's fucking crazy! The only assumption I have about why you've been getting violently ill is because she keeps poisoning you so she can care for you!
Noah: You have to believe me on this one! I even have photo evidence!
Noah sent a photo, and Cody did have to admit, there were indeed boxes upon boxes of Rohpynol in his trash can. But, surely Sierra wouldn't do that, right? She's grown since that point.
Cody: You probably photoshopped that so I would leave Sierra! Well, we're perfectly happy!
Noah: Cody, call me right now. Please.
Cody shut his phone off right as Noah tried to call him, then exited the bathroom. Sierra had been waiting for him.
"Hi, Cody!" She giggled. "What took you so long?"
"Oh, it was just Noah," Cody replied, sitting down. "He photoshopped a photo of tons of empty boxes of Rohpynol to try and separate us. But, I know you wouldn't do that." He took a sip of his water.
"I would never! You're important to me, Cody!" Sierra giggled. "I wouldn't want you hurt, as much as I like taking care of you!"
The dinner then went on as normal, Cody only feeling a little uneasy towards the end of dinner. Once again, the uneasiness grew, and Sierra carried him to the car, where she drove the two home.
///
Cody woke up in a sweat.
He sat up in bed, feeling hot and cold and nauseous and
his legs gave out on him once he got out
of bed.
He used his bedside table as
support to get up. He leaned
against the wall as he stumbled to
the bathroom,
where he looked at himself.
His skin was pale, and the second he
leaned against the sink, he
threw up. He stood up too quick,
resulting in him throwing up again.
He weakly called out for Sierra before
his legs gave out again
and the world
went
dark.

Chapter Text
By this point, he was all too familiar with waking up in the hospital, which was raising some questions in the staff. How was it that Cody kept getting poisoned? Someone was very clearly out to get him.
He woke up, once again in a hospital bed. He slowly tried to sit up, and with Sierra's help, he managed to do it.
"Are you okay, Cody-kins?" Sierra asked, tilting her head worriedly.
Cody nodded. "I just...really hate waking up in hospitals.."
Sierra nodded. "I get it, Cody-kins. Really. I do."
Cody then looked at the door, seeing Eva walk in.
Sierra huffed a bit. "How did you find us?"
Eva shrugged. "Noah saw your post on social media and told me about it, so I came down since I graduated early."
Sierra sighed. "I'll get out so you can talk to Cody." Sierra pressed a kiss to Cody's head before leaving the room.
Eva then turned to Cody, who looked at her. "I have evidence that you should leave her.."
Cody sighed. "Why do you guys want me to leave Sierra so bad?"
"Because she's a fucking psychopath, that's why." Eva sat down by Cody, pulling out her phone. "Noah sent you the photo, right?"
Cody nodded, still trying to figure out what happened. Who would've drugged him?
Eva nodded, pulling up a video. He pressed play, then showed Cody the video.
"You check downstairs, I'll check upstairs." Noah then walked off.
Eva started in the living room. She started picking up things around the house, trying to see if there was anything that could prove Sierra was drugging Cody. She set the phone down momentarily to lift up furniture, but had no luck finding anything. She picked the phone back up, then headed into the kitchen. She set the phone up on the table so it was filming what she was doing. She looked around for anything that could've been at least a little suspicious. She went off camera for a few seconds before she came back, grabbed the camera, then showed the boxes inside the trash can. She then yelled for Noah before the video ended.
Cody bit his lip as he watched through the video. He couldn't believe this. "Sierra said she had changed..."
"She clearly hasn't." Eva said, putting her phone away.
Cody paled, putting his head into his hands. "I'm such an idiot.."
"No you're not. She tricked you." Eva placed a shoulder on his shoulder. "We just need to get you away from her..."
"How do we do that?" Cody mumbled. "She's obsessed with me.."
Eva thought a bit. "How about we call Noah in a little bit and then go from there?"
Cody nodded. "Thank you...I need to apologize to Noah.."
"We can do that when we call him." Eva got up. "I'm going to go get your doctor to keep Sierra out of your room, then I'll be back." She then walked out of the room. Eva and Sierra could be heard fighting before Eva walked off.
Cody leaned back in bed, rubbing his eyes. He was frustrated at himself. How could he let such a thing happen? He was the fucking worst..
///
"I'm sorry, Noah." Cody apologized over the phone.
"What are you sorry for, Cody?" Noah asked.
"For saying all those things to you.." Cody bit his lip.
"That's fine. I knew you weren't really thinking." Noah could be heard typing. "Even when you're not thinking, your insults are weak. We need to work on that."
"How do I deal with the Sierra situation?" Cody mumbled, scratching at his wrist.
"Well...aren't you eighteen?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, you could put a restraining order on her."
"That seems wrong.."
"She poisoned you. On multiple occasions. I think it's well deserved."
"What if she doesn't listen to it?"
"Then she goes to jail."
"I feel I wouldn't be able to tell on her..."
"Then why don't you come and move in with us?" Noah asked. It just slipped out. He didn't even realize what he was offering until he offered it. Luckily, Eva piped in.
"Yeah. That way, Noah, Izzy and I can get the evidence you need to put her in jail for breaking the restraining order."
"Plus, then you wouldn't even go to the same school," Noah added.
Cody thought a bit. "Well, it's not like anyone would notice my absence at home..."
"You won't be alone all the time," Noah commented.
Cody thought a bit. "Okay...I think I'll do it..."
Eva nodded. "We have an empty bedroom that you can use."
"We'll help you pack up when you're out of the hospital.." Noah commented.
Cody took a deep breath and nodded. This was it. He would finally be rid of Sierra.
Chapter 9: wine
Chapter Text
Cody looked around his now empty room, taking a deep breath. All his belongings were packed away into boxes, and all he needed to do was take them to Eva's truck, and that would be it. He would be officially moving in with Eva, Noah, and Izzy.
Noah walked upstairs to Cody's room, looking in. "Hey. You ready?"
Cody hesitantly nodded, but Noah could sense how nervous the other was. "What's going on, Cody?"
Cody sighed. "I just...can't believe I'm doing this. It's such a...big step.."
Noah wrapped an arm around his shaking friend. "I know...but hey, I had to do it, too. And, as your friend, I'm telling you right now that everything will work out.."
"Are you sure?" Cody anxiously looked at his friend.
Noah nodded. "I promise. And I don't promise anything. You know that."
Cody laughed a bit. "That's true."
Noah nodded. "Let's get your things to Eva's car, then we'll leave, alright?"
Cody nodded. He and Noah grabbed some boxes, then headed out to Eva's truck.
///
Cody woke up one morning to a knock at his door. From the knock, he could tell who it was. "Come in, Noah.."
Noah stepped into the room. "Sorry if I woke you, but I was wondering if you possibly wanted to get out of the house."
Cody groaned, putting a pillow over his head. Noah simply sighed. "I know you're afraid, but you can't spend your whole life trapped in this room."
"I can sure try," Cody replied, his voice muffled by the pillow.
Noah sat down on the bed beside Cody. "You can't be afraid forever."
"Sure I can." Cody tossed the pillow to the end of the bed, so he could look at Noah.
"No you can't." Noah laid beside Cody, staring at the other.
Cody huffed. "I just don't want her finding me.."
"I know.."
"I'm...I'm afraid."
"I know."
"What if she finds me?"
"Then you film her and get her arrested for violating the restraining order."
"...okay. I'll go out."
Noah nodded. He started to sit up when Cody spoke again.
"But...can we stay in bed for just a bit longer?" Cody nervously looked at Noah, afraid of his reaction. What if Noah thought he was weird for asking him to lay down with him?
Instead, Noah simply nodded, laying back down. And, that in itself calm Cody down instantly.
///
Cody was laying in Noah's lap while the two scrolled through their social medias. Noah then spoke. "Geoff's having a party this weekend."
"You wanna go to it?" Cody looked up at Noah.
"Not really, but I feel it would be good for you." Noah looked down at Cody.
Cody sighed. "I've already gone out in public multiple times."
"I know, but ever since you graduated high school, you haven't been getting the social interaction you need." Noah replied.
"Okay, mom."
"You can't say that. Your parents are always gone."
"Okay then, dad."
"That's better. At least he calls you." Noah smirked. "What do you say?"
Cody huffed. "Fiiine."
Noah grinned. "Good. I'll let Geoff know we're coming." He then sent Geoff a quick text.
Cody thought a bit. It'd be nice to see everyone again. The worst thing that would happen is Sierra would show up and the cops would be called. But, hopefully she didn't show up. Right?
///
"Cody! Good to see you man!" Geoff hugged the smaller of the two, and Cody hesitantly accepted. He heard Noah chuckle from behind him.
"Thanks, man. Glad to be here," Cody responded, pulling away.
"How have you been, man? And can I get you a drink?" Geoff responded. "My parent's alcohol cabinet is free for the taking."
Noah was about to respond, but Cody spoke before Noah could get any words out. "Actually, I don't drink. Sorry, man.."
"Nah, dude! It's cool! We have Pepsi products in the fridge! There's water, there's lemonade, I think there's some milk, if you're a milk drinker...whatever you want, man!" Geoff responded, smiling at the other.
Cody smiled. "Thanks, dude.."
"It's no problemo! Now, I'm gonna go find Bridge so we can get it on a bit, but I'll see you dudes around!" He flashed some finger guns at the group before heading upstairs.
Cody grabbed a Pepsi, and he couldn't help but smile. Maybe things wouldn't be so bad now...
///
"Noah!"
"What, Cody?"
"My parents wanna come meet you!"
"They've met me five times!"
"Well?"
"Fiiine. But-"
"If they ask how close we are, we just say friends so they don't assume anything?"
"Oh good. You've learned from the other five times."
"Thanks...asshole."
"Wow. You're using big boy language."
///
Cody scrolled on his phone. "Heather's hosting a party."
"You wanna go?" Eva asked.
Cody nodded.
Noah grinned. "It couldn't hurt. We'll crash the evil queen's party."
"It's not crashing her party if she knows we're coming."
"Just let me have this, Cody."
"Okay, nerd."
"Like you're one to talk."
"Hey!"
"He's got a point."
"Eva, I thought we were friends." he replied sarcastically.
"I don't have friends. 'Friends' are just people I don't want to punch on the daily."
"So that means we're friends?"
"Barely." Eva chuckled, clearly joking.
"I'll take it."
///
Cody grabbed his phone. The others weren't heading to the party until later, but Cody felt that going early was an important step he had to take. "Guys, I'm heading up!"
"Alright!" Noah yelled back, trying to finish up his book. "If you need anything, call us."
"Will do!" Cody shouted. He grabbed his car keys, then headed out of the house. He got into his car, put the keys into the car, plugged his phone into the aux cord, then started driving.
///
Cody walked up to Heather's house. He felt a little awkward standing there by himself, he wasn't going to lie, but this is what he felt was the next step.
He knocked on the door.
Heather opened the door, flashing a small smile at Cody. "Cody..." she glanced behind him, seeming a little confused. "Your entourage isn't with you?"
Cody shook his head. "They're coming later. I decided to come ahead of them."
Heather nodded. "I just want to say something before I let you in."
"Okay?"
"If Sierra shows up at the party tonight, I'll be sure to kick her ass."
Cody smiled a bit. "Thanks, Heather."
Heather nodded. "Now, come on in." She stepped aside, letting Cody walk in. And, as Heather shut the door, Cody realized that he had finally moved on.
