The Monster Made of Heroism

Summary:

Old creatures have long since retreated from the world of man, but one young vampire is about to step out into the light. Will this be his downfall or will the world find a savior in the ultimate predator

Chapter Text

Izuku shivered in his seat seeing the single drop of blood ooze down his classmate's finger. The only thing his brain could do was scream at him for how hungry he was. It took all of his self-control to not latch his lips around the girl's finger and suck as if his life depended on it.

Of course due to the unfortunate fact of him being Izuku Midoriya meant that others in the class saw him seize up. "Hey look he's going to pass out or something." The other students laughed uproariously at their misunderstanding for why he was fixated on the drop of blood.

If they only knew the truth.

Why their classmate was always so frightfully pale, why he moved lethargically, why his body was so much weaker than it should be. That it was all due to his incredible and frightening heritage that would have turned them from taunting bullies and into a frightened mob.

Izuku Midoriya, to the surprise of no one who could see the signs, was a vampire. One of the true lords of the night and the last of a dying breed of monster.

In centuries long past creatures like werewolves, hags, yeti and more would roam the world terrorizing the humans. Even when they made walls of wood around their villages and towns, with weapons of iron and steel to fend off the beasts it was only ever an inevitable until the humans were put in their rightful place at the bottom of the food chain.

However things rarely ever go to plan and Man created more devastating weapons, chasing the monsters into the night, hunting them until all but the most hidden were brought to extinction.

Thus from the shadows the few remaining monsters operated, of them only the mighty vampires were able to survive in the modern world, blending in somewhat and using their vast accumulated wealth to create little holdings for themselves.

Midoriya was from one such vampire family, having fled Eastern Europe sometime in the mid 1500s to the recently discovered, by western civilization, island nation of Japan. It was a brilliant decision at the time as their culture had never even heard of vampires before. The nation had its own malevolent spirits and monsters, but as something that passed so much like a human and with their newly minted name they were blending into the background of society quite well.

As time went on it became harder to keep the monstrous bloodlines going as finding a mate who would not reveal their heritage was becoming more and more difficult with how connected the world was becoming which is why Izuku Midoriya had been the last vampire known to be born in the past two centuries. The tumultuous times created by the advent of human quirks posed a potential threat to any monsters that could be caught.

So Izuku rarely saw his father who spent much of his time away from the world of heroes for fear of being recognized, but that did not mean Izuku was completely without.

He still had his dear mother who, while human, as vampires no longer turned their brides to prevent too many people noticing immortal people, loved him all the same. His father sent shipments of gold and jewels that had been hoarded for centuries which allowed their family to live quite leisurely, if they had to be conservative about it to avoid drawing attention from the government as to where the wealth was coming from. And the few blood bags that could be procured was enough to sustain Izuku during most months.

His mother, bless her mortal soul, would try to convince Izuku that feeding off of her once in a while wouldn't be a problem. But he held a deep fear that once he started he would be unable to stop, his thirst was insatiable and while the euphoria of a full belly was what he deeply craved, the moment the clarity set in he would be devastated if his mother was hurt.

That was why he resigned himself to the agony of always being on the brink of starvation, he would rather be weak and unable to defend himself than to imbibe himself of his mother's delectable red nectar.

But things rarely are that simple. A botched hijacking of his body and the subsequent rescue by the number one hero had Izuku fixated so much on the pungent stench of blood on the man that he acted on instinct when he followed him out from the tunnel and grabbed on. 'Just a sip.' was all Izuku could think about when he held onto the pants of the man that clearly had blood to spare.

He hadn't meant to discover the secret of All Might, that had been entirely an accident, he just couldn't control himself when he could smell the building metallic scent of the life-giving liquid. But he couldn't exactly tell All Might that he followed him because he wanted to drink his blood, that would at least be weird if not illegal. So he fabricated a story of wanting to be a quirkless hero because as a vampire he would not develop a quirk naturally. Supposedly a sasquatch in Bali had manifested a quirk, but Izuku just thought that was poppycock and instead was just a really hairy guy with a quirk instead.

Once All Might departed the building and no one else was in sight Izuku began debasing himself by licking furiously at the blood that was flecking the roof of the building he had been left on. It was so glorious to drink blood that was much fresher than what came out of a cold blood bag. If anyone had been looking, the drunken stare on his face would be considered both frightening and quite lewd.

Izuku was in a daze on his walk home after his small snack, it had been like a glass of water in the sahara, not enough to save him but enough that it felt like manna of the gods and he was primed to drink more. So when he arrived at the scene of destruction with more scents of blood filling the air he could be forgiven for acting on instinct and pushing through the crowd. It was not his intention to try and save one of his bullies, but Izuku thought that it would be awful to waste all of that blood seeping from the cuts covering Katsuki's body that he created in his attempt to fight against the slime villain.

It was confusing to him how an attempt to feed upon the blond teen ended up with him under the tutelage of the number one hero, but if it meant he could be around All Might and his glorious blood spewing habit, it would simply be something Izuku would tolerate. Even if he wasn't so sure this hero business would work out.

All Might was scratching his head as he tried to figure out his new pupil. On some days Midoriya seemed to not only meet the written goals of the American Dream Plan, but exceed far beyond what was expected from a quirkless kid of that size and muscle mass and yet on others Midoriya seemed like he was on the brink of dying. 'Is it drugs?' All Might wondered as he watched his protege with ease toss a car's rusted out shell into the truck bed.

"And done," Izuku smiled while looking over the cleaned beach. To his surprise he actually enjoyed the physical exertion put on him over these last ten months. While he never cared all that much about doing good or bad, this was still something that he accomplished and he took pride in his hard work.

'He doesn't seem like the type, his arms and neck are clear of needle marks which are the typical spots junkies inject with, but the smarter ones do it between the toes since footwear would prevent anyone from noticing,' All Might pondered as he looked over the work Midoriya had done. With the ups and downs All Might had some concerns about it being finished in time for the U.A. entrance exam, something he hoped that Midoriya would participate in rather than All Might bringing him in as a recommendation student.

'But then again, all the signs are there. The tiredness one day and then the sudden energy the next. Something doesn't add up with young Midoriya.'

"HEY, ALL MIGHT!" Izuku shouted in the hopes of getting his mentor's attention, something he had been trying to do for the last couple of minutes.

"Gah, what? Huh?" The titanic blond man stammered while looking around before settling his gaze back on Midoriya.

"You zoned out there big guy?" Izuku tilted his head and took stock of the skeletal man's appearance. He wasn't sure if everything was just getting to him or not.

"Sorry young Midoriya, just thinking," All Might chuckled as he couldn't decide on whether his student was a dope dealing fiend or just a weird kid. "We've come so far in these ten months that I'm sure you are ready for my quirk."

Toshinori was deciding that he had been right about Midoriya being the perfect candidate for the quirk and it was just his self doubt clouding his mind on what was the correct decision.

"Wait, so what now? We only have a few hours until the U.A. entrance exam," Izuku questioned. It would be a bit late to start any new exercises.

"No nothing like that," All Might waved dismissively to his pupil. "I simply provide you with something that contains my DNA, like hair, skin or a bit of blood and then pass on the quirk to you."

"Blood," Izuku said barely above a whisper as he looked at All Might's bulging neck muscles.

The man turned his back and reached up to pluck a hair from the top of his head when he felt something wrap around his torso. "What the-?" All Might cried out in shock at the sudden attack.

"I'm sorry All Might but you said blood would work," Izuku managed to get out before he sunk his fangs into the man's neck.

Toshinori was a hardened veteran of heroics who had seen hundreds of battles in his time and faced numerous frightening foes. He was the stuff of legends, so it would have been embarrassing to see him screaming like a girl and trying to dislodge a short teenaged boy from his back as he ran up and down the beach. Finally he was able to get Izuku to lessen his bite and tossed him away, keeping one hand on the two bleeding holes in his neck while also panting from the difficult task of getting the young boy off him.

"Young Midoriya… what the fuck was that?!" He gasped out as he looked at Izuku cleaning the blood from his lips, his tongue far longer than he'd noticed before licking away at his blood on the boy's hands.

"You said-" he stopped to slurp the blood from his fingers. "Blood would work."

"Yeah! Like a drop. You didn't need to… what even prompted you to do such a thing?" All Might said wary of the young boy who looked at him with a hunger he'd only ever seen in starving animals before.

"I- I- didn't think that… well you were so," Izuku stammered as he tried desperately to think of a way to play this off as a misunderstanding but he had drank for too long for it to just be a dumb kid thing. All Might clearly watched him try to suck him dry. He knelt down in the sand and slapped his palms on the beach. "I've just been so hungry lately, and you always spew up your blood and just throw it away. It has been maddening."

"Do you know how hard it has been to control myself when you are like a rich man throwing away perfectly good food into the trash in plain view of a starving homeless man?" Izuku pleaded. "I might be a monster but I have limits, I thought you were offering, so I couldn't help myself."

"Help yourself how?" All Might took a wary step away from the boy.

"To feed, I'm a vampire," Izuku answered as he looked into All Might's eyes. "I need blood and it's been rough having to go through my blood bags more than usual just to keep up with your training. I've not had a drop in three weeks and I was going crazy. I was ready to dig in the trash cans of the girls' bathrooms around the city just to get my fix."

"You… are a vampire?" All Might questioned even as things started to piece together. Izuku was already looking a million times better than just a few minutes ago, so clearly drinking blood had a positive effect.

"Yes, one of the last left alive," Izuku slumped into the sand as he resigned himself to his fate. He had blown his cover in front of, quite possibly, the strongest being on the planet that he couldn't fight off in his weakened state. There was nowhere to run or hide, maybe if it had been the middle of the night and not the break of dawn he could manage to get away with his currently enhanced strength from getting to drink for the first time in so long. But not anymore.

All Might look at the young man on his knees before him, this was clearly something he should report. If Young Midoriya was telling the truth and Toshinori didn't believe that he had a reason to lie about this. A real life monster was in front of him and it would be his job, no his duty to stop it here and now. He reared back his fist ready to strike down the creature when he heard it sniffle.

"Just tell my mom… tell her that I'm really sorry. If I had just refused your offer I could have been at home with her helping her make dinner, now she's going to wonder what happened to me. Why I just never came home. All Might, please, don't let my mother waste away thinking she had anything to do with this. She'll understand why you had to kill me," Izuku begged as he waited for the punch that would send him to oblivion, but it never came.

All Might couldn't do it. It was against everything he stood for to kill someone who was surrendering. Let alone a child, one who for the past ten months at least hadn't hurt a single person until he slipped up due to starvation. "Have you ever killed anyone before?" Asking an important question which would determine what he did from this point on.

Izuku just shook his head in response. "No sir, I don't feed on people, never have. I want to when I run out of blood bags, but I know it would cause more problems than solved if I gave in and started attacking people."

"So this entire time the days when you've done well?"

"I would drink from the bags I was rationing."

"And the days you struggled."

"Well I probably hadn't really eaten in days by then."

It wasn't a complex puzzle to put the pieces together of. So with a heavy sigh All Might sat down in the sand in front of the boy he had trusted with his secret. "You're just a kid."

"I'm a monster, what difference does it make how old I am, monsters are killed by humans."

"Yeah but that was… long ago," All Might tried to reason. "You all were supposed to be myths, urban legends, not real."

"Well we are, whatever's left of us that is."

That was what was in front of him, an endangered species that had to hide for fear of being wiped out. "Shit kid, why the fuck didn't you say anything?"

"How could I have?" Izuku argued. "You are a hero, by definition you historically stop the monsters, it's only recently that we've been gone that you turned it to fighting villains. But you can go and tell the public and they'll have the torches and pitchforks at the ready to put my head on a spike."

"They wouldn't do that." All Might protested against the idea of innocent civilians being so bloodthirsty they would slaughter a child just for what he was. But he paused as he realized he had been prepared to do that, even for just a moment, when Izuku told him what he was. Of course the public would panic, maybe Izuku would be lucky and put to death quickly, if not he'd be a lab rat for the government.

"Now who's delusional," Izuku smirked.

"No!" All Might stood up proudly, he had to believe people were better than that and they just needed a reason to believe it. "I'm not delusional and you will help me prove it. Young Midoriya, I said this to you ten months ago, but now again. You can be a hero. Take my quirk and show the world that you are not a monster."

Izuku looked at the blood soaked hand offered to him then up into the glowing blue eyes of the hero framed by the rising sun. "You're absolutely insane All Might." Izuku sputtered out with a laugh as he crawled forward and licked the blood from the man's hand.

"Well I think we're all a little bit crazy," Toshinori responded as he hoped he was making the right choice.

Chapter Text

As much as he wanted to believe in All Might's plan there was still a part of him that was incredibly nervous about being so public. He had spent much of his life trying to not be noticed and now he was going to go out and display one of the most powerful quirks in the world in front of hundreds of other hopefuls for the coveted UA Heroics Course and further under the scrutiny of the professional heroes the school employed to teach those future students.

So standing in front of the gates however had his nerves on edge, if he had blood it would be pounding in his ears. But as much as he wanted to turn tail and run he didn't want to disappoint All Might who, for some godforsaken reason, believed that he could actually be a hero. A vampire being a hero, it was enough to make him giggle. The absurdity of the situation was enough to help calm him, just enough to take the first steps onto the campus.

In another universe a mere mortal Midoriya might have been clumsy enough to trip over a displaced stone and the same would have happened if hours before Izuku had not been given All Might's blood to drink. But now he wasn't on the brink of collapse and the slight loss of balance was easily corrected on his own.

Quickly entering the auditorium where the other hopefuls were waiting, Izuku found a corner to wait in because it was slightly less lit than the rest of the room. The distance from the front of the room wouldn't be an issue with his enhanced senses. It also allowed him to watch the other hopefuls, real future heroes, humans.

Maybe he should have been paying better attention because he didn't even catch the instructions until Present Mic was dismissing them all as he had been so wrapped up in his thoughts about the humans around him that he ended up on one of the buses to a fake city. Unknown to him it was the wrong bus.

He was nervous, but not for the reason everyone else was. They were worried about passing, while Izuku was just worried about passing as something he wasn't.

Taking a deep breath which was funny as he never did find out if he had to actually breathe or not being undead and all. Izuku managed to steel his nerves and wait to attempt this exam, mostly expecting a disastrous outcome.

When the announcement came through Izuku was running with the pack of students into the cityscape that quickly filled with the sounds of destruction as people were attacking any robots they came across.

Hurrying down a side alley so as to avoid the main road that everyone else was already fighting over, Izuku found a robot rumbling its way towards him. Sprinting forward his body slammed into the machine and he was able to rip the optical camera out cleanly. "Huh that was… easier than I thought it would be?" he questioned as he crushed the lens in his palm.

The sound of grinding gears alerted him to the presence of more machines for him to destroy. "Maybe All Might's quirk is already working?" He concluded, despite not feeling any different beyond less hungry from the blood he had drunk earlier from his mentor.

Coming out of the alley with some destroyed bots behind him, he stopped to sniff the air, the tinge of blood from all the scrapes and cuts earned by the examinees started to surround him. "Oh yeah," Izuku sighed happily while a part of his psyche was telling him to just go crazy.

But before he could make a decision he heard someone screaming to the side of him. "Ahh this is so unfair," a very short purple haired boy cried out in fear as a two-pointer bot kept trying to skewer him with its tail. The boy rolled out of the way and tossed a stick ball from his head onto the tail which got it stuck to the ground when it stabbed down, but the cracking sounds coming from the concrete meant that wasn't going to be a long-term solution.

Izuku quickly leaped through the air and kicked the machine separating its body from the tail. "Hey nice job holding it down," Izuku smiled even flashing his fangs at the boy who looked sullen.

"Yeah yeah, stupid test, stupid robots, stupid quirk," the boy grumbled while starting to trod away.

"Wait up," Izuku called out.

The other boy actually did stop though and looked over his shoulder. "What for?"

"How about we work together, you get the robots to stop moving and I take them out," offering to team up with his hand outwardly extended.

"And let you get all the points?" the purple haired boy scoffed.

"No way, we share the points, this exam is for a hero school. We have to get credit somehow for working together. After all, how many heroes do everything by themselves?" Izuku shook his hand again in the hopes the other boy would accept. "Come on, I got a good hunch that the examiners aren't just looking at how many robots each person can smash, otherwise they would only be admitting the people with the most destructive quirks, and to be quite honest, I know plenty of people who have those that would make terrible heroes."

"Minoru Mineta," the purple haired boy accepted the hand while offering his name.

"Izuku Midoriya," giving his own back. "Alright now let's go, hop on, it'll be faster this way. You pin them down and I take care of the rest."

Mineta groaned at the offer of a piggyback ride from someone he just met but as it was, even if he got credit for that machine Midoriya kicked, it still only left him with one point and he already lost five minutes. So he had little to no options left. "Alright, but if you're wrong."

"Then I'll give up my spot to you, does that sound fair?" Izuku replied.

"Whatever, let's just get going," Mineta mumbled because this was the best he could hope for at the moment.

Running through the streets Izuku found it much easier to smash the machines since Mineta stopped them in their tracks, especially the three pointers that could roll away while firing their missile barrages. However one of said machines that was battling another test taker fired off from behind and while carrying a passenger Izuku didn't have time to properly dodge when suddenly a large flock of birds came and caused the missiles to fly in all different directions.

Seeing the birds scatter and then take a formation to fly back over to another student, Izuku felt that it would be rude to not at least thank the person for intercepting the attack. "Hey, thanks for that, a missile in the back is something I don't think I want to experience," Izuku smiled and offered a hand only to be a little confused that the other boy pulled out a whiteboard.

Waiting for him to write on it, the boy turned it around. Context led him to know that the top line was his name, Koji Koda. "Well Koda, would you like to join us in breaking a few machines, three is better than two after all?" extending an offer to the rockheaded looking boy.

Koda looked at the machine that this other boy had destroyed and then offered a nod as in terms of combat capabilities, the only use for his quirk has so far been to control some pigeons to distract some of the robots so that other students could break them. But maybe this boy would let him get a few machines so he could at least earn some points as well. Since he didn't think he had much of chance otherwise he nodded his head in agreement.

"I'm Izuku Midoriya and this," turning his back to reveal his passenger. "Is Minoru Mineta."

Mineta tilted his head back and raised a hand. "Sup."

"We still have about seven minutes left in the exam," Izuku commented because he figured they would be able to gain a few more points and he could still see some robots that haven't been attacked by another examinee yet.

That was how the trio worked with Koda directing the birds to distract the machines so Mineta could pin them in place and Izuku smashed through them. And it was going swimmingly until everyone felt the ground start to quake. Looking down the street Izuku saw a massive metallic hand grip a building, cracking large chunks of concrete off the buildings.

"Oh what is that?" Mineta screeched in fear at seeing the Zero Pointer trod down the street towards them.

Koda tugged on Izuku's sleeve to get his attention on the writings on his board. "We should leave."

"That's probably a good idea," Izuku nodded and took a step before a scent caught his attention. Whipping his head around he started scanning the surroundings for the source of the blood he was smelling.

"Hey Midoriya we need to go," Mineta called out when he noticed that Izuku wasn't moving but instead was staring at some rubble as if it was the most important thing in the world. Then Mineta covered his eyes to protect him from the dust Midoriya kicked up just by running towards the danger.

"Where are you?" Izuku said frantically as he could smell the person, but he couldn't see the person. Following his nose to the scent of blood he found a small trail hanging in the air. Running his finger along it he was surprised, but not too much, to feel a human body. "An invisibility quirk, interesting."

Licking clean his finger, he realized that a rock must have hit this girl's head and knocked her unconscious and she would need medical attention. "Although," he mused to himself that no one would notice her disappearing.

"No," Izuku suddenly stepped back from her since he realized he was leaning forward towards the defenseless girl. "You had blood today, you are not a monster."

That bubbled frustration inside of him knowing that this could be a free meal if he just went for it, if he threw away his inhibitions and drank. "I can't, I had some blood from All Might and that's it. I can't just take and take."

But that anger boiled, he wanted the blood, Izuku's instincts told him to drink. After a few seconds of inner turmoil he resolved to step away and get this girl help rather than help himself to her. That still left him tensed and the approaching machine caught his attention. Letting out a hellish scream Izuku launched himself high into the sky and crashed into the machine, sending it falling backwards.

Pulling back his lips into a snarl, Izuku sunk his fingers into the robot's metal head and ripped it straight out of its socket. With a roar he flung the hunk of metal into a nearby building which collapsed from the collision.

Having let off some steam Izuku went over to the unconscious girl and picked her up to carry to a UA staffer so they can get her the attention she needs.

The rest of the test takers were staring wide-eyed in shock at the violent display of strength.

"Jeez Midoriya, you got some anger issues to work out?" Mineta nervously chuckled because that was one of the most frightening displays he'd ever seen, thankfully it was from someone who he had for the past fifteen or so minutes worked alongside, so he figured that it was fine. "What are you doing?"

"There was an invisible person there, I could… smell them," Izuku nervously said as he stared at the person. "I can't be here, I need to go, please make sure she gets attention. I'm hungry."

Koda carefully took the girl from Izuku and watched him power walk through the parting group as he disappeared out of the gate.

"Hungry?" Mineta questioned while looking at the devastation caused by him taking out the zero pointer. "He's hangry, that's what he is."

On the train ride back home from the school Izuku received a text from All Might to have him call when he had a chance to talk.

So later that night, after Izuku sat with his mother while she ate, since normal food wouldn't do anything for him, however it was a chance to spend time with her and catch up on her day. She liked her job at a marketing firm, so she had plenty to talk about with the various products her company would be bringing to stores and how she tried to advertise them.

But after she finished eating she had to take an early night since she was to be up for a presentation and once he heard the soft rhythmic breathing of her sleep Izuku pulled out his phone to call up his hero mentor.

"I should have known you'd call at night," All Might chuckled once he picked up.

"Yeah, so uh," Izuku nervously started. "What did you want to talk to me about?"

"Just to see how you were doing after you used my quirk and why you ran off before the test was even over?" All Might answered.

Izuku scratched his head. "That girl, I could smell her blood so strongly and she was so defenseless and I was still hungry and that stupid robot was there and I was angry and I lashed out."

Realizing his voice was getting louder, Izuku took a deep, calming breath. "I knew I needed to get away from all the scrapes and bruises before I did something to them."

"That's what I figured, it was a bit reckless of me to still have you attempt the entrance exam after learning your secret. But you still controlled yourself and that speaks volume to your own willpower Young Midoriya," All Might proudly continued speaking. "And I want to thank you for your actions, with all the dust in the air after reviewing the footage, only then did we see the young miss Hagakure incapacitated after running the footage back to see her get pinned. It could have been quite a disaster so while maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit telling you this, but you passed."

"And did the two boys I was with pass, because if I only got in by taking the points from them, I said I'd give mine away?" Izuku wondered since he wanted to know where he stood with them.

"Don't you worry, there will be no need to share points, while you maybe have gotten the majority of the villain points, they still received some and gained a number of hero points for helping each other, now so long as you don't say I told you they passed, I won't get in trouble. Hint hint Young Midoriya," All Might coughed.

"Got it, I won't say a word, I'm pretty good at keeping secrets after all," Izuku laughed.

"I am well aware of your ability in that regard, which is why I need you to tell the principal and the school nurse," All Might said quickly.

"What?" Izuku sputtered.

"I know it sounds crazy, but they are aware I have passed on my quirk to you," All Might explained. "So they know to keep an eye on your development should anything happen to me, but they are both very capable individuals and while you might not initially think of it, both can help you with other problems. And they might need to know about dietary restrictions."

"What? Would they be able to get me more bags?" Izuku raised a questioning eyebrow.

"I believe so, it would be odd but not unheard of for a hero school to have blood on standby, in fact less so for our school, as we have a member of our staff, Sekijiro Kan, otherwise known as Vla-"

"Vlad King, the Blood Hero, I'm aware of him," Izuku grumbled.

"I take it you dislike him…"

"Not personally, just, it's the name. For someone like me, that's like a pretty obnoxious stereotype that he's running around dressed as. But I can live with it," Izuku reasoned, since it was likely the man assumed like everyone else that vampires were myths.

"Fantastic, so would you be amenable to coming down to the school at some point to speak with the principal and nurse?" All Might asked, since he wanted a concrete answer.

"Yeah, if they're there right now I can just head over to talk to them," Izuku shrugged while moving over to grab his coat. It wasn't that he got cold but it looked less suspicious that he would walk around in the dead of night in December wearing more than just a t-shirt and shorts.

"Sure, they live on campus and I can have them send someone to escort you once you get to the front gate," the hero nodded.

"Not needed, I can get in without help," Izuku said dismissively while locking his apartment door behind him.

"U.A.'s security system is highly advanced, that is a bold claim."

"Modern security systems use a mixture of sound, movement and heat to detect people," Izuku explained to his mentor. "Unfortunately for them, I don't have body heat, I don't make sound and as for movement, well, there are quite a few tricks I haven't shown you."

Twenty minutes later, Izuku walked into the principal's office to the surprise of the three staff members waiting for him. "See, told you," offering a cheeky grin as he took an open seat. "Now before I tell you my secret, I need to know just how much he's told you?" point a finger at All Might who was sitting in an emaciated state

"All he has mentioned is that you have a unique lifestyle that is different from any student that has come through our halls," Nedzu smiled at the student, but based on some of the one-sided conversation he could hear, there were some conclusions he was coming to.

"And how good are you all at keeping secrets, because I'm taking a big risk the more people know about me, before him, there was only my immediate family," Izuku looked at the nurse to get a gauge of her. She was a pro-hero he recognized. Old, but compared to his father, she might as well have been a child.

"We have kept the secret of All Might's quirk since he was a student at UA," Recovery Girl stated firmly. "That was while we were most worried about All for One finding him."

"Oh, and this All for One is connected to the quirk One for All. Some villain I presume?" Izuku looked to All Might for an answer because this was not a detail brought up in their time spent training.

"All for One is the originator of the quirk, the first person to wield One for All was the villain's brother, who he thought was quirkless when he gave him a seemingly useless quirk," All Might leaned back in his chair to start explaining the origins of the quirk he had passed on to his protege.

"Okay, so he's some young upstart who has been trying to take over the world for the last two hundred years," coming to that conclusion after the story had ended.

"I would like to take a guess about you. Being that you consider someone of his age to be young, I believe that based on your prior conversation that you are something that for a long period of time has been believed to be a myth, you Izuku Midoriya, are a vampire," Nedzu stated.

He wanted to be indignant and deny the accusation, but honestly anyone with a passing knowledge of the supernatural European monster would likely have been able to figure it out. "Yeah, so now what are you going to do about it?"

"I don't see why I need to do something about this," folding his paws across his table. "The nature of your birth is hardly something that would prevent you from the path of heroics as you have already demonstrated, you possess a quirk so the paperwork can be created to cover for it."

"You're a fairly easy going chimera aren't you?" Izuku tilted his head at the principal who just grinned at him.

Nedzu looked at Izuku curiously. "If I let every oddity throw me off my game, I would never get anything done because of all my students, let alone the staff members and their weird problems."

The principal pulled out a plastic card with Izuku's face on it while sliding it across the desktop towards him.

"Such as All Might bringing me a vampire," Nedzu then smiled. "Well it is getting late and we still need our sleep, I'll be wanting to discuss at some point your method of entering the school undetected, but for now if you would continue to use the installed gates using your student badge."

Izuku made to leave the room when All Might coughed some blood into a cloth, he moved to throw it into the trash bin when he saw Izuku staring. "Did you want it?"

"Don't make it weird," Izuku raised an eyebrow at his mentor before sucking the blood out of the fabric and handing it back to All Might and heading off into the night.

"So he truly is a vampire then?" Nedzu questioned because it was one thing to guess it and be told it, another to see it first hand.

"Yup, honestly, make me wonder just what else is hiding around the world," All Might agreed with his boss.

Chapter Text

The wait for the start of the new school year wasn't that long for Izuku, as he just had to keep up with some training which was mostly done at night now, and since he could work on his own schedule rather than keep to All Might's he found that the dread of being in a new place never came.

It also helped that arriving early as he did not need to sleep put him first in the classroom to watch other people start to filter in. It was still too bright out for his tastes so he kept his head down for the most part, but that only lasted long enough until someone came up to him. He felt a person tapping his shoulder, but when he looked he didn't see a hand, just a floating uniform.

"Hey um, I just wanted to say thanks for helping me in the exam, my name is Tooru Hagakure," the invisible girl introduced herself to the boy that others had told her saved her from the Zero Pointer.

"Not a problem, Izuku Midoriya," he smiled upwards towards where the girl's face would be.

"You don't look so good, are you ill?" Hagakure asked because this classmate was frightfully pale.

"No, sort of, it's fine," Izuku weakly answered. He had forgone a blood bag this morning since he figured that there was very little chance that they would be doing anything physically intensive today. "I'm like this sometimes. Please don't worry yourself about me."

'Better yet, just don't think about it at all, it's much easier to keep my secret if people don't ask questions,' Izuku thought to himself, he had spent many years with people thinking he was just this frail, weak human and that had suited him just fine. But having someone fret over him who wasn't his mother would cause problems.

"Dude," a lispy voice rang out and Izuku heard the pitter patter of small shoes on the linoleum. Letting out a sigh Izuku realized that people at this new school were actually going to talk to him, engage with him. "You were right, we got in," Mineta exclaimed while motioning to himself and Koda, the two seemingly finding each other before class.

"Congratulations," Izuku nodded to his new classmates.

Koda tapped him on the shoulder and held up his sign. "Are you okay?" The silent teen had a look of concern on his stony face.

Izuku again nodded to the people crowding his desk. "I'll live," Izuku responded before snickering at his own joke.

The trio wanted to press the issue to make sure Izuku wasn't just playing it off as less serious than it should have been when their teacher rolled into the room, almost literally as he crawled along the floor in a yellow, puffy sleeping bag to end up at the podium.

Izuku recognized the signs of a night shift hero, the tired eyes, along with the complete lack of tact when dealing with children indicating the man had been busy the night before. It made him wonder why someone like him was brought on to a more consistent daytime schedule which would likely interfere with his work as a pro hero outside the school.

But he didn't really have much to dwell on those thoughts as he was walking with the other boys into the locker room to change out. However Mineta, who wanted a locker near Izuku, made a comment. "Dude that one chick was checking you out," Mineta whispered.

"What? Who?" Izuku questioned because he wasn't all that concerned with noticing his surroundings while keeping his head down.

"That girl with the really huge tits, she was totally staring you down earlier," Mineta clarified which classmate he was talking about.

"I'm sure that wasn't it, she was probably just staring off into space and I happened to be in her line of sight," Izuku denied because it would be odd for anyone to really bother taking a notice of him this early on.

Tying off his gym pants, Izuku closed his locker and headed out with everyone else. "The only one I know here is Bakugou, and well the three of you I met during the exam, but I've never met her before."

"Still, how cool is it that someone so hot is digging you," Mineta said with some jealousy in his voice.

Loudly clearing his throat to get everyone's attention, Aizawa held up his clipboard. "Now if you are done gibbering we can get started on the lesson. Midoriya, you scored the highest on the exam, so demonstrate for the class the effect of using your quirk in everyday tasks," tossing a baseball to the pale kid.

Izuku just resigned himself to hating life because of course on the day he assumed nothing labor intensive would happen he didn't drink anything, so with some sluggish movement he moved into the chalk circle. "Alright," Izuku sighed before pitching the baseball, whatever the class expected to happen of the top scorer, the ball bouncing a measly forty meters away wasn't it.

This left a bit of silence, especially from the students who had been at the testing site where they saw that Izuku demolished a zero pointer, surely he could have done better than that.

"Oh you think you're funny," Aizawa gritted his teeth in frustration.

Whipping his hand to the rest of the students, he ordered Izuku back in line with his classmates. "If you aren't going to take this seriously then I guess I'll have to make you, whoever scores the lowest will be expelled, no questions asked, no second chances."

There were gasps among the students, some of whom looked at Midoriya sourly for making things worse. Tooru waved her hand, "But sir, he's cle-" trying to explain that Midoriya was in no shape to be doing this if he couldn't even use his quirk. She knew she should have pushed him on this earlier when she saw how unwell he was.

"Clearly, expecting to coast on his quirk. Met plenty of students who came from their middle schools, all of them thinking they were the next All Might," Aizawa glared firmly at Midoriya who seemed completely unphased, which only served to make Aizawa more angry because of his assumption of disrespect.

For the next couple of hours the students would be put through the ringer, with each event resulting in Izuku taking dead last, even Mineta was beating him out in the events. For the short kid who had watched Izuku rip through the testing robots with his bare hands, he knew that shouldn't be possible. "Sir," Mineta tried to get his teacher's attention, because it looked as though a stiff breeze would topple his classmate over.

"Midoriya, you're out," Aizawa said, looking quite pleased with himself to be rid of a problem child who had had the world handed to him on a silver platter this early on in the year.

Koda was trying to sign with his hands an explanation but it wasn't mattering, until Izuku's ears perked up and he turned his head to see Recovery Girl coming from across the yard.

Normally one to stay in her office, Aizawa raised an eyebrow as she approached Izuku and looked him over, then she without a word came up to himself and smacked his shin with her cane. "Are you so foolhardy you can't see that this boy has one foot in the grave already, telling him he's expelled because he can't perform to your standards. I ought to tan your hide for this, come along Midoriya, let's see if I can get you feeling better."

Aizawa hissed as he rubbed his shin, it didn't make sense that Chiyo would know about his students unless someone told her. "When he comes back he's still expelled."

"Boy I am not afraid to come over there," Recovery Girl threatened, a privilege she had by virtue of having been working at the school longer than this teacher had even been alive, and thus had the authority to overrule many decisions other faculty members made. "But if you are so darn thick headed on this, when he's ready I'll send him out and he can retake your so-called test."

Shuffling alongside the nurse, Izuku looked down once he was sure they were out of hearing range. "How did you know to come out here?"

"Well I had just finished up my initial paperwork and the shipment of blood bags had come in, so I went off to find you in your class for the purposes of explaining how we would make this system work. But when the room was empty I remembered that Shouta liked to do his little tests, he uses them to single out students with quirks he doesn't approve of. Ones like yours, the powerful and flashy types. He does it to paint a target on your back for the other students."

"And the expulsion?" Izuku questioned while holding open the door for the small older woman.

"He is serious about that, every year he expels the poorest performing student on the first day, it works to make the other students resent the person with the stronger quirk. It is designed to look as though because of your success someone else had their dreams crushed," Chiyo answered while going to a refrigerator she kept in the medical supply closet. "He has a distaste for the current state of heroic politics and the effect he believes it has on society. On some points he is correct, but so would everyone else if they aired their grievances."

"We don't get too much and I can't order more than is reasonable, but with some leeway in the paperwork, I have clearance to get more bags due to there being a few more people in attendance that require or could require blood, previously it had only been Sekijiro, the Blood Hero, but with yourself and Toshinori, I have an official need to keep some more on hand," pulling out a few bags to choose from.

"I'm curious if there are any flavor differences," Chiyo questioned while presenting Izuku with a few options.

Izuku grabbed a Type B, "There is, A's tastes more salty, B is bitter but oddly sweet at the same time, like what I assume my mother's coffee tastes like. O Type is very bloody, it doesn't sound like it makes sense, but it's dull and musky. It also depends on the person."

Izuku bit into the bag he was holding and Chiyo was fascinated to watch it flow up into his fangs with almost imperceptible lines of red lacing through the bone. Once he finished the bag, he looked far more alive than before. His skin, while still pale, had a more regal style than the emaciated tautness before. "Whoever this person is or was, they should cut back on the sweets they're pre-diabetic."

"Fascinating," Chiyo hummed while mentally jotting that down, she would be creating a report on the abilities this student had, at least because of professional interest. "Do you think you would be capable of taking your teacher's test now?"

"Sure, I'll still be processing the blood for a few hours, but I can probably use One for All without ripping my own arm off now," Izuku concluded because he was capable of using the quirk once during the exam based on the amount of blood he had drank from All Might a few months ago, and that wasn't even a full bag. But he did have more time to absorb it.

"Well if you are certain, you may return to your class," Chiyo motioned to the door.

Deciding to not waste time, Izuku ran through the halls, passing by windows faster than anyone could see. He managed to make it all the way back to his classmates who had been made to stand around waiting. "Did you seriously all just have to stand here?" Izuku asked, causing his classmates to startle from his sudden presence.

"I take it you are feeling better now?" Aizawa raised an eyebrow because even he didn't see Midoriya walk up, but the student's skin looked fuller and in such a short time, he was suspicious of the reasons for that.

Stretching to crack his neck, Izuku nodded. "Yup, much better."

Tossing the ball at him one more time, Aizawa didn't repeat the earlier instructions. Izuku just confidently walked into the circle and pulled back his arm, pushing One for All into the limb, he let loose with a satisfying crack, the ball launched far off into the sky. With a shredded shirt sleeve showing off the snapped arm, Izuku saw much shock on his classmate's faces. First for his display and next because he wasn't even acknowledging the damage done to his body.

"That's never going to fly, destroying your own body," Aizawa glared knowing that by just that one pitch alone he'd moved up a single space from dead last.

"Oh this?" Izuku looked down to his arm before scrunching his features. More sickening noises came from his limb as the bones realigned themselves and regenerated the damage. Raising his arm to rotate it around. "I'm fine, just couldn't do that earlier, I'd have blown my arm off."

Aizawa wanted to put this problem child through all the tests again but that would only serve to garner him a higher score and it would defeat the purpose of teaching the class the unfairness of their society since he'd be singling out this student now. With a grunt, Aizawa decided he would still be able to make his students see that someone like All Might was more trouble, it would just have to be done during a different lesson. "Fine, you pass, I won't expel you. Probably because you'd go whining to Recovery Girl that I was picking on you."

Deciding to not focus on yet another teacher who was getting on his case for no reason, Izuku went back over to the students, and saw that yes, the pretty girl with the ponytail was staring at him.

Everyone headed back to the locker rooms to change out for the day, all the while Izuku didn't notice that his former classmate was seething mad. "Dude, that was incredible," Kirishima said loudly as he clapped Izuku on the shoulder. "You're a freaking beast."

"Rude," Izuku muttered at the insulting term, but nonetheless he understood the sentiment behind it. "Sorry about taking so much time with the lesson, if I had expected something like this I would have been better prepared."

"It's not a problem Midoriya," Iida said while adjusting his glasses. "One cannot plan on an illness, it was just so unfortunately timed that you had to decide on missing the first day of class or attend while under the weather." For the rules oriented student, it was not a decision he would have wanted to make. Because it wouldn't surprise him if there was at least one student in every school in the country out sick today.

"You are looking a lot better Midoriya," Mineta commented. "What did Recovery Girl even do?"

"Oh just gave me something to eat, it really perked me up," Izuku answered vaguely. He couldn't exactly tell them he drank a bag of blood, but he could allude to it being a dietary issue.

Stepping back into class the students who now did not have a teacher took it upon themselves to give a brief introduction since they all believed that after the scare of a potential expulsion had passed, they would be spending the next couple of years together and should learn names sooner. Going by their seating position, Izuku was going to be one of the last to introduce himself, with Bakugou going before him.

Listening to his classmates say their names, along with a brief description of their quirks was fun enough, some of them had some goofy names that they clearly had come up with when they were kids, it was nice actually that this time he wasn't being singled out, well he thought he wasn't until Bakugou stood up. "My name's Bakugou Katsuki and I'm better than all of you."

"Well that's enough of you Kacchan," Midoriya interrupted because unlike middle school these other kids likely wouldn't take too kindly to the arrogant declaration.

"Shut the fuck up Deku, you cheated to get in here anyway," Katsuki snarled because he was doing his best to ignore that the worthless loser from his old school had managed to get into the top hero institution in the country. But him displaying a fucking quirk made him want to pummel Deku right there on the field but the teacher didn't seem like the type to tolerate that if he was this ready to expel someone.

Izuku sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "It is the first day, can you save it for like, next week or something," looking at the blonde dead on, the two pairs of red eyes meeting and if one was able to notice the shine in Midoriya's wasn't coming from the reflected light, they'd think it odd.

Slowly Katsuki took his seat and just put his head down to ignore the rest of the extras in the room. "Sorry about that," Izuku offered his classmates a weak smile. "I guess I'll go next, um I'm Izuku Midoriya, as you can tell, Bakugou and I have known each other our entire childhoods. So I'm a little immunized to how he acts. His quirk is explosion, he secretes a substance like nitroglycerin from his palms, which explodes, obviously."

"Mine is a bit of a strength enhancer and some regeneration mixed in. But I wouldn't really worry about all that," Izuku waved off in the hopes of making people not focus on what his supposed quirk was.

Taking his seat he motioned for Mineta behind him to speak. He listened as the short kid stated his quirk was Pop Off and how he was going to be the coolest hero in the world. Izuku just thought it was a lofty goal as it would certainly not be an easy feat to accomplish. But it was the final student of the class that introduced herself that really had his attention.

"Greetings, my name is Momo Yaoyorozu," Momo said with a slight bow to her classmates. "My quirk is called creation, it is the ability of subsuming the adipocytic tissue my body stores from the food I consume and undergoing a molecular restructuring process before forming as the desired chemical structure."

Seeing that most of her classmates had been lost about halfway through, she elected to rephrase herself. "My quirk turns fat cells into objects that I want," forming a matryoshka doll in her palm.

A classmate raised their hand. "When you say Yaoyorozu, are you related to the big company?"

Momo nodded her head. "Yes, my parents run Yaoyorozu Industries."

That had confirmed it for Midoriya, this was the family his father had told him about. And it looked like Mineta wasn't incorrect, Momo had been staring at him. Which now meant that he would need to confront her when no one else was around, but he suspected she would be waiting for him after school.

The bell rang and the students having dealt with a stressful first day all excitedly left the room to get home. Most of them anyway, Izuku took his sweet time, mostly to draw it out. If the Yaoyorozu heir simply left that would be easier on him, less interaction, but stepping outside he could see in the setting sun that she was patiently waiting at the gate for him, along with a number of burly bodyguards standing around a limousine. Being that he was one of the only people outside, meant that he couldn't avoid being seen.

Walking up to her Izuku saw that one of the bodyguards had opened the door for her and after she stepped into the limo, the guards just scowled and motioned for him to do the same. Knowing that putting this off would simply cause him more problems than not and he didn't want to get into a fight over all this, Izuku complied. When one of the suited men attempted to join them, Momo raised a hand and shook her head. "That will not be necessary."

The guard raised an eyebrow behind their dark glasses but eventually stepped back and the door was shut leaving the two teens alone

The vehicle had rolled into motion, for a destination that Izuku didn't know nor really care, he would be home by nightfall one way or another.

Izuku was content to simply sit out the car ride, it wouldn't bother him if nothing came of this. But it would seem that the young lady would not allow the silence to stand for long. "Hello master," she demurely said with a bowed head.

"I'm not your master," Izuku responded with a sigh.

"You are the son of the master, that makes you my master as well," Momo explained to the young vampire why she was addressing him as such.

Looking at the girl he could tell that this was not going to just go away if he ignored it. "Fine, what is it you expect? Did you come to U.A. knowing I would be here?"

He found that notion pretty farfetched, as he himself didn't know he would be attending the school until a few months ago. But if the Yaoyorozu family had been keeping tabs on him all these years, then he would like to know.

"No master," the young heiress answered. "I was shocked that you were in attendance, the master had said he had an heir but he never told us any details about you. The Yaoyorozu family is ready to serve."

Running a hand through his hair, Izuku tried to think of a way to convince his classmate that this was unnecessary. He was coming up blank. "Well, it's going to be a very hard thing to explain to our classmates if you address me as master, especially because only three other people in the school know about me."

"There are others?" Momo questioned the identities of those who new the young master's secret besides her own family.

"The principal, the school nurse and All Might," Izuku counted off on his fingers. "All Might found out before the entrance exam, and the other two were told because frankly given enough time they would likely have discovered it, the chimera is very clever."

"Are they going to be a problem master?" Momo asked with some hesitance, her family could muster considerable forces to protect their masters, but the Number One hero in the world and the genius principal might be insurmountable.

"No… doubtful at least, Toshinori is an honorable man, I won't have problems with him unless I myself become a problem. The nurse is far more interested in the scientific aspects of a vampire and the principal, well I don't really know his angle yet, but he's content to watch," Izuku waved off the concern from Momo.

"Still master, I am ready to offer my services," Momo said while unbuttoning her top.

Izuku raised a hand to stay her movements. "I will not be needing those services. I don't drink blood from people."

Momo blinked curiously at the vampire. "You do not imbibe yourself? How do you stay alive?"

"I drink blood bags, my dad sends some every now and then and I ration them, the school is going to be providing me more," Izuku explained.

"So your lethargy from earlier during our teacher test?" Momo inquired.

Leaning back into the plush seats, Izuku offered a shrug. "I wasn't expecting a test of quirks this early in the year, so I hadn't drank anything for a while."

"This will be unacceptable Master, I will pledge to get you more sustenance, but please, I urge you, drink of me whenever you wish," Momo said while pulling the collar of her shirt down.

"Stop that," Izuku flinched back because this girl was really coming onto him hard. And the fact that she was offering herself so readily, it did not make it easy to rebuke her. "Look, I really appreciate the offer, but I can't just start drinking from people, and I certainly can't do that in public, such as at school. It's probably for the best if you just pretend you don't know me."

Izuku had been able to see that the limo had driven him home, so when it came to a stop he got out of the vehicle. "It'll be a lot safer for the Yaoyorozus to not be associated with a monster."

Closing the door behind him he didn't see the look of rejection on Momo's face.

Chapter Text

The next morning when walking to school, having drank a full bag of blood, which Izuku felt might have been a waste of resources, but he couldn't take a chance that his teacher didn't try another test on him, however he found that the young lady Yaoyorozu had been waiting for him at the gate. "I'm guessing that you aren't going to be deterred."

"I will not young master," Momo replied with far too much cheer in her voice for the morning and that was coming from a creature that did not sleep. "While I find it honorable that you care so much about my reputation, I will not besmirch my family's honor by simply abandoning you when it becomes convenient for me. It is not what your father did for my people's village."

"Yes, the village," Izuku sighed because he knew of the history of his father's arrival in Japan, being a powerful vampire none but the most dangerous of Japanese yokai and oni posed a threat to him, but they did to the smaller villages who at that point in time had only gotten to the stage of pig iron. Settling into one location was odd as he very much stood out from the average villager but when a monster attacked and the new vampire immigrant struck them down with nary an effort, that village came to worship him as a protector. And while over time many families just lived their lives, especially as monsters were slowly hunted down and driven out into the dark, some stayed faithful to the vampire lord.

They were granted bountiful wealth and although most of those families have long since passed on the Yaoyorozu remained, they had been a peasant family, one of the lowest but with his father's careful tutelage they had risen far above, earning an education and learning about business and industry, with the rare metals and books he provided for them, they were able to become one of the most powerful families in Japan, if not the world.

"I can see that any attempts to dissuade you would be more of an insult than anything," Izuku surrendered the position of getting Momo to act like there was no history. "We'll talk about services and duties later, first we'll just go to class, see how the school schedule works here."

"Very well Master," Momo nodded and entered the classroom with him. Being that the first day was a bit wild, Momo instead of sitting behind Mineta, took a seat next to Midoriya. She had offered to take the spot by the window but Izuku shook his head and explained that while direct sunlight would weaken him, the windows were so large in the room it didn't make much of a difference where he sat down.

Sero who had been in that seat the previous day was surprised to see that someone else had claimed it but he wasn't really going to demand the pretty girl move and went to the back of the class.

Mineta when he walked in though just gave Izuku a thumbs up which Midoriya had to return to him because apparently the short boy had been right, for the wrong reasons.

Koda and Hagakure came over to check and see that Midoriya wasn't in as bad of shape as he had been the previous day, but since his skin looked fuller, even if it still had the same pale color, they believed that he was at least on the mend from whatever was affecting him yesterday.

Izuku ignored the sour look his homeroom teacher was giving him when the man entered the room, but the classes after were pretty much the standard lessons, even if they had a heroic slant to them to showcase the importance they held. It was on his way to the cafeteria that was causing Izuku some issues, he couldn't really eat food, it would basically sit in his stomach for hours just festering.

But he had to keep up the appearance, so in line he got his food and sat down, except he found himself having people join him soon after. "Hey Midoriya," Tooru happily greeted after sitting down across from the young vampire. She was soon followed by Mineta, Koda and Momo.

"Oh hello," Izuku said between slow bites of food, he was hoping that he could, when people weren't looking, seem as though he had eaten more than he had. "Three," he muttered under his breath.

"What was that?" Mineta asked as he took a bite of his meal.

Izuku just took a moment. "Nothing, just my own personal musings. Two."

This was getting him curious looks from the group that had joined him at the table. "So what do you think the last class of the day will be?" Mineta asked the group because while he was comfortable with the current lessons he did wonder just when the hero school started the hero lessons, he wanted to be impressing girls sooner rather than later.

"Foundational Heroics with All Might," Izuku answered the question while slowly taking another bite. "Two."

"All Might?" Koda held up a sign, electing to ignore the numbers that Midoriya would say randomly.

Izuku shrugged. "Yeah, he's a teacher, since it's not for any of the other lessons, then he's just going to be a heroics teacher, that's where most of his experience is. Three"

"That's so cool," Tooru clapped her hands in excitement about being taught by the greatest hero in the world. There was so much she could potentially learn because her quirk only made her invisible she was hopeful that someone with All Might's experience would be able to help her improve beyond her current capabilities.

"Yeah he's pretty-," Izuku stopped when a loud clatter was heard and the students around them erupted into laughter. A dark scowl crossed his features and Izuku slammed his hands down on the tabletop and shot out of his chair. "Six thousand, four hundred and ninety-seven. Do you fucking mind?!"

His sudden outburst was enough to silence the other students who had been laughing at someone who tripped in the cafeteria. Snarling Izuku stormed out of the area with a quick apology before he caused more of a scene and returned to the classroom early, to see his homeroom teacher at the desk having his own meal and going over papers. "Lunch isn't over yet," Aizawa looked up to see which student intruded on the time that was scheduled so he could be away from the students. To his disdain it was the problem child, the student who seemed hellbent of having his way in this school. "If you're cutting lunch as to create an excuse to get out of the later Foundational Heroics, let me assure you that will not fly under my supervision."

"It was just getting distracting sir, trust me I have had more than my normal fill," Izuku responded as he seemed to glide over to his desk.

Aizawa watched the student curiously because he just sat at his desk quietly, too quietly for any teenager. It was unnerving how still Midoriya was, almost as if he wasn't even breathing. Normally Aizawa could fall asleep most anywhere, even in the loud teacher's lounge he was able to catch some z's, but everytime he closed his eyes his body kept telling him he was in danger. And his instincts were screaming at him that he had to run away. It was infuriating him because of how it did not make sense.

That frustration of missing his nap time meant that when All Might arrived he didn't simply pass the students on and curl up, he wanted to ensure that the lummox the principal brought in because the hero was looking to retire didn't start playing favorites because some quirks were going to bigger on the popularity polls.

He watched as All Might began to randomly assign students to teams, which is not what he would have done. He would have pitted certain students against each other, either to knock some down a peg, or to weed out the underperformers by making them experience a completely one-sided fight. The way Toshinori was handling this was only going to allow them all to have some fun without worrying too hard about the consequences. Aizawa inwardly scoffed at the idea that his colleague had put more thought into this lesson by simulating the uncertainty of dealing with villains you know little about and whichever hero or sidekick you team up with isn't always someone you know.

But maybe seeing Midoriya face off against the top performer of his lesson would be enough. As the fight went on he became more and more frustrated as the student he wanted to make an example of was handily winning the fight.

Izuku knew that Katsuki was not going to take well to him being in the hero course, he likely would have bristled at him even being in gen ed. But as All Might had put them against each other, he wasn't going to simply play dead just to sate one person's ego at the expense of the lesson. Standing with Uraraka, he could tell that she was jittery, clearly in her time before U.A. she had never been in a fight before.

"Nervous?" Izuku asked as he stretched.

The girl nodded her head back to him. "Yes but it's also exciting, this is the first time we'll be using our quirks on another person."

"Maybe for you, probably," Izuku hummed thoughtfully on his opponents. "Bakugou in there is uhh… this isn't his first time, doubt it is for the other guy either. But I don't think he's the same, more of a formal training type of guy."

"What about you Midoriya?" Uraraka inquired a bit more nervously this time. "Do you have experience fighting?"

"Ehh, you could say that, pretty much anything Bakugou could claim I could too on the other end, but I've had a bit of different supervision lately," Izuku scratched his cheek. "Just have to be careful."

Uraraka thought back to the test from the earlier day, when Midoriya used his quirk. She knew it held devastating power if it could so severely damage even the user, but that seemed to be balanced out by his ability to heal. That however didn't exactly extend to whoever he hit though. "So what would be your plan?" Uraraka asked.

"Well I would say that we split up since Bakugou will come after me and we can fight while you go to the objective but…" Izuku ran his hands through his hair. "But that would completely go against the lesson that All Might is running for us. We are supposed to be heroes, not you be a hero and me and my jackass of a childhood something or other be feuding children."

He wanted to go with his gut instinct and just fight Katsuki but he had a long history of pushing down his instincts and right now he knew that this being All Might's first class at his new job, he was going to be under a lot of scrutiny from not just the principal who was aware of his need to be here, but from the other teachers. And going off half-cocked just to get some revenge would make it seem like All Might couldn't control his class and it would reflect on him as the person All Might trusted with his quirk.

"So we should stick together and work as a team?" Uraraka guessed what Midoriya was planning for them to do.

Nodding his head, Izuku took a deep breath. "Yeah, we're supposed to be heroes, we put aside any history we might have with the villains we battle, we can't let the past dictate our futures. We must put it all on the line for the innocent people we protect."

Uraraka looked at Izuku in surprise that had he said something so inspiring. Being broadcast to the tent so others could hear the preplanning and the other students were impressed that someone was already so mature about the lesson, they hadn't thought along those lines. It was definitely something they needed to hear. "Start the lesson," Aizawa said through gritted teeth.

It was infuriating him that this kid was spouting platitudes like that, as if he understood what was needed for heroes to do. Someone with a quirk like his wouldn't care about putting it on the line to protect, but to showboat for glory.

All Might shrugged and turned on the microphone connected to the headsets the students were wearing. "You may begin," All Might said to his students.

As predicted the blonde haired boy let off explosions as he raced through the halls, heading straight for the entrance. "Just like we planned," Izuku said to Uraraka who nodded her head.

The moment Katsuki turned the corner, his forward lunge left him open to an overhead throw and in the time it took for him to recover, his sense of gravity was stolen as he felt a pair of hands placed on his torso. "Hey, what the fuck are you doing? Fight me!" he shouted while being spun around and handcuffed.

"Sorry, not today," Izuku said shortly before pushing him away so that he could float in a corner of a room, like he was being put in time out. The pair quickly made their way upstairs since Bakugou's explosions had given away the position of the bomb as being directly above them. So Iida was quickly blitzed by a fully fed vampire who had him held firmly against the room's back wall as Uraraka ran in behind him to grab the bomb.

As expected, All Might announced the winners of the event. "Now who can tell me the MVP of the match?"

"Clearly it was Midoriya," Mina said to answer All Might's question.

"And how do you all feel about that?" turning to the students who had just participated.

"Yes, I agree, Midoriya was able to handle our 'team'," Iida airquoted. "Perfectly."

Uraraka nodded her head. "Mhm, if it wasn't for Midoriya I don't think I would have been able to keep calm throughout the battle."

Bakugou muttered some vague threats under his breath before walking away from the others to sit in the back. "Well Midoriya, it seems that everyone agrees you did a bang up job."

"I wouldn't go that far, I lucked out because I had a history with Bakugou, so it wasn't as blind of an event as it would have been if we weren't going to be facing off. I doubt that it would go as smoothly with anyone else in class," Izuku said while trying to not get too much credit.

"Well we'll agree to disagree," All Might said while patting his protege firmly on the back. It would be a good thing that Midoriya stayed humble so early in his career. He missed the sour look Aizawa was giving his student as the next team went in and it was likely because everyone was taking it more seriously than before that his attitude had changed.

Aizawa watched as the students rather than fumbling around actually began to put thought into their plans, they were trying to work together to achieve their goals. And he had Midoriya to blame for that, but more so he realized that the top performer in his own test wasn't up to snuff for knocking down someone with a flashy quirk, but thankfully he had one other student who had the pedigree to get the job done.

Things were going swell for Izuku as far as he could tell, he had settled into the new school without much incident and that despite his first foray into combat, he had maintained control over himself. That had been a worry of his that if he got too excited, too close to the violence, that he could lose it. It was a concern that being around the blood and overpowering the humans would trigger something inside him.

But he had managed, for now.

In class the next day as everyone was excited for what lessons lay ahead, Izuku just wanted things to settle down though, Aizawa was at the moment giving his criticisms to the class, or some of the class. Apparently Bakugou abandoning his teammate was frowned upon. "Sir," Izuku raised his hand despite himself. "Why exactly was his behavior wrong? I wasn't aware that villains were known for their cooperativeness. So wouldn't his act of leaving his partner behind be within what he was supposed to do?"

Aizawa's eyes narrowed at him from the front of the class. "Then we can discuss you Midoriya. I wasn't aware that Uraraka had become your sidekick, and that she had to take orders from you. You were both heroes, so why wasn't she involved in the planning process?"

Izuku paused because he hadn't thought he forced his partner to go with his plan, she just seemed a little out of her depth and had expressed wariness at the prospect of fighting someone so he thought he should try to build up her courage with what he believed would be a simple strategy that wouldn't overwhelm her nor require her to do something she might not have been comfortable with.

Before Izuku would respond, Aizawa moved onto the next lesson which was to inform them of the vote for student council president. Izuku let out a small murmur as he turned to take notes until lunch.

"I cannot believe that he spoke to you in such a manner, master," Momo said in frustration as she took a seat next to Izuku in the cafeteria at lunch again. "I will be speaking to my parents and they will have choice words for the principal this afternoon."

"It's alright Momo," Izuku sighed as he took another slow bite of the rice in front of him. "He doesn't like me and that's fine."

"He is our instructor, so it is most certainly not fine," Momo huffed at how her master was so willing to be unphased by the clear mistreatment he was receiving. She would never have accepted this level of targeting in her old school regardless of who it was done towards.

"He'll give it up in a couple of days when he figures out that I'm just going to be a middle of the pack student," Izuku predicted from his past experiences with teachers. He was more concerned about his grumbling stomach, that he had drank a full bag the previous day had tricked his body into thinking it was going to get regular sustenance and now that he was going to have to wait a few days before getting into the next bag his body was quite upset at the human food being fed to it.

However unlike the previous day where he left early to return to the almost empty classroom the alarms started blaring and students began to shove each other in a panic.

Izuku found himself swept up into the panicking crowd and was shoved all around. "Master," Momo called out to him before quickly making a megaphone to overpower the screaming students. "Attention, is this anyway to behave? It is simply an alarm, we are not under attack, please form orderly lines like you've done since kindergarten."

The students calmed down after being chastised and became much less pushy, this allowed Momo to wade through the crowd and help Midoriya off of the floor. "Why do you insist on letting others push you around?" Momo asked her master as to why he simply did not command the students as he should.

Letting out a sigh, Izuku just brushed off his uniform. "It wasn't a situation where violence was warranted. It would draw unneeded attention to myself if I hurt anyone just for being startled."

Momo bit her lip because she wanted to tell the young master that he should be more forceful rather than so passive. But she didn't want to overstep her bounds either.

Returning to the classroom Aizawa announced that they would need to select one student to be the class president, he wanted to see how they all handled the chaos of everyone voting for themselves. Hell he was actually somewhat grateful for Toshinori's lesson the other day because now there was a chance someone got a vote from their partner and that would surely cause more issues as the class would be led by a person who won by a single vote.

Thus it was only more infuriating that Midoriya earned a staggering six votes, so he was left standing up at the front of the room by himself because anyone else had only earned a single vote. "I don't really know what to say," Izuku cringed because if he won then he'd have more attention drawn to himself. "I didn't even vote for myself. Sensei, I think it's only fair that I decline the position, I don't believe that I would be capable of being an effective class president."

"So you want there to be another vote now?" Aizawa glared at the student who was acting too humble, which meant it was a front.

"Well no, I don't really think holding another vote so soon would get the best results. After all, a class president is supposed to be someone the other students can look up to and who isn't afraid to advocate for them. If we are given more time to get to know each other then it will become apparent who is truly suited for that position and who is after it because they think they might look better to sponsors or the ranking bureau."

This was enough that a few students who voted for themselves for those very reasons had to rethink why they even wanted the role. It was a lot of responsibility and they had to do so for the betterment of their fellow students. Going to meetings, discussing issues with the faculty, that would cut into a lot of free time that the average teenager just wasn't willing to give up.

"There will be no second vote," Aizawa stated, deciding that if Midoriya wanted it one way, he'd do the opposite. Izuku let out a sigh because he had figured that since it wasn't just a matter of one extra vote but over a quarter of the class voting for him that it wouldn't be enough to let him avoid the outcome. "You have until the end of day to declare your vice-president."

Izuku just took his seat and then tried to focus on the lessons while figuring if he should just declare Momo his vice president or try to be more diplomatic about it. Deciding that he should at the very least get the rest of the class's opinion on the subject as Ms. Midnight was finishing her lesson which would signify the return of Aizawa, Izuku spoke up about his intent to poll the class on who they would like to see as representing them.

"I know that many of you voted for yourselves, which to me indicates that you would want the position over those who did not vote for themselves," Izuku stated as he looked over the class.

The pink-skinned girl with acidic powers raised her hand. "Um actually, because of what you said I don't think I want to be a class representative anymore."

"Oh, well I'm sorry I made you feel that way," Izuku apologized because in his mind he'd just turned her off to wanting to do something when all he was trying to do was get out of it.

"No, don't apologize," Mina quickly said. "You made a good point, this isn't about getting to put down you were class rep when you go trying to make a name for yourself. Sure it might benefit me later but it might hurt everyone else because I don't think that I would be able to take it seriously enough now."

Izuku looked to see that more than a few students were nodding their heads in agreement. "I see," Izuku hummed.

"In that case I should ask if anyone has experience in the position to begin with, I assume because U.A. is a school for exceptional students that some of you were class reps in your middle schools," Izuku looked around only to get a few whistles in response. "No one?"

A hand rose up from the back of the classroom. "Midoriya, I have experience. In my middle school I was voted class president, but um. I don't really think I earned it, I think my parents just paid the school to make me president," Momo finished with the latter half of her comment tapering off to a whisper, but with his supernaturally enhanced hearing he was still able to catch it.

"I'm sure that had nothing to do with it, you are a very intelligent and reasonable young woman who has many wonderful and inspiring talents and I'm sure that every one of your previous classmates were thankful to have you representing them," Izuku said with a smile as he turned to Aizawa's desk to fill out the form he left for the class representative. This meant he missed the flushing on Momo's cheeks from the high praise she was receiving from the young master.

With that done, Izuku was waiting after class to see if Aizawa had any duties for him on the first day, but right now in the quiet room he could only hear the pounding of Momo's heart. "Are you alright?" giving her a side glance to the girl standing next to him.

Momo jerked where she stood. "No, I mean yes master," Momo quickly bowed to the vampire. "I just… did you mean what you said in class?"

"Of course, why wouldn't everything I said have been sincere. In just the few short days you've shown a level of maturity I frankly did not expect from most teenagers," Izuku affirmed that what he said was what he meant.

"But master, you are far more reserved than I," Momo stated as she hadn't even known the young master was alive because of how off the radar he remained until just a few days ago.

"That is because I hide, I do so out of necessity. I think you're far more suited for this role than I," Izuku told the girl with a smile.

"Ruling is in your blood master, I believe in time you will see it is your rightful place," Momo responded before standing up a bit taller, feeling more confident that someone as important as the young master truly believed in her.

All their teacher had for them was to bring some stacks of paper to the teacher's lounge. Knocking on the door, Izuku waited for a response before entering, there were a few teachers still in and Present Mic directed them to bring the stacks over to a table. "All Might, do you have a moment to speak with me?" Izuku requested and the man who had been scribbling on a sheet of paper looked up.

"Of course Young Midoriya, I have a few moments," All Might said as he left the lounge with Izuku.

Izuku could hear that there was no one in the room next door. He could see some confusion on the faces of both his mentor and servant. "Toshinori, this is Momo Yaoyorozu. Momo, this is Toshinori Yagi. Both of you are aware that I am a vampire but I felt it would be for the best that everyone was on the same page," Izuku stated to see the surprise.

"She knew?" All Might pointed at the girl. "Not that you couldn't I just, I only learned of this just before the entrance exam."

"I understand sensei," Momo bowed to the hero. "Young Master's father is the reason for the success and wealth of the Yaoyorozu family, as such it is our duty to attend to the Midoriya line, only for many decades we were unaware of what had happened to our benefactor."

"I figured that it would be easier if something came up that neither of you tried to keep a secret you both already knew from each other. And I see no problem with Recovery Girl or the principal being informed of the connection, other than that no one else in the school knows this," Izuku added on so that All Might could update those he mentioned.

"Might I ask sensei, how did you come to know of the young master?" Momo requested.

Toshinori grimaced before looking to Izuku for some assurance. "The Yaoyorozu family is more than capable of keeping your secret," Izuku stated and motioned for All Might to continue.

And so All Might shared his connection with the vampire. "I see, thank you for telling me this, I will be sure to keep this secret from anyone finding out," Momo smiled at her teacher.

With the conversation at a close, Izuku escorted Momo back to the school gates so she could take her limo back home. He would have a bit of a time tonight as his mother had become very interested in his entrance to the famed hero school.

He had to admit that his acceptance to the school had not been in a general education course or either the business nor the support department. So she was surprised that he had chosen such a prominent vocation, but she was nonetheless happy for his decision. "And do please inform Mr. Yagi that he can come to me if he's having any problems or has questions. I want to support my baby boy as much as possible," Inko told her son so that he could pass the message along to the famed hero.

He never kept secrets from his mother, as she had been keeping a greater one for longer, so she was well aware that he'd been gifted a powerful quirk and was going to become the first monster hero in the world. Izuku had her full support.

Chapter Text

Izuku shivered, which made him grumble. He pulled the collar of his jacket up and kept an eye on his surroundings. It wasn't possible for the current temperature to make him cold, instead he knew this was a result of his connection to supernatural elements, which while not making him a seer or prophet, was enough to tell him that insidious elements were afoot.

Crossing the threshold of the campus and Izuku just felt that sensation intensify. "Great," Izuku muttered to himself as he moved towards the main building.

Once in the classroom Izuku found that like always he was the first student to arrive but this time he wasn't the first in the room. The homeroom teacher was sitting at his desk and had turned at the sound of the door opening. "Sensei," offering a greeting to the man who clearly just got in from his patrol.

"What are you doing here so early?" Aizawa grumbled while nursing his juice box. He had hoped for some solitude while writing out his reports but it would seem that was no longer an option.

"I'm always early," Izuku responded to the question. "If you would like to be alone I can wait in the halls."

Aizawa huffed and motioned for the student to take his seat. Looking down at the papers that same feeling rang through his senses that he was making a mistake by taking his eyes off this student. It just upset him more because a first year student, no matter how powerful their quirk was, shouldn't be making him feel like this.

Thankfully only twenty minutes went by before the next student arrived and suddenly the feeling lessened as the room filled up.

Taking a breath, Aizawa went to the front of the room to make his announcement. "With your previous lessons in Foundational Heroics being in combat, the next step is to focus on saving the lives of others. So we will be leaving the main campus and going to another location better suited for such."

That was the last of the announcements before the regular lessons commenced. Izuku did wonder just what they had planned when it came to saving people, would they have volunteers or just simple dummies that they would be taught how to properly pick up and carry. So when they were heading out to get on the bus that would take them to the facility Izuku ended up sitting near the front with Momo going over some ideas she had gotten out of the student handbook on some activities that could be set up to help create after-school team building exercises. "Those are wonderful Momo," Izuku responded as getting the class into group chats for study and sharing of emails so they could, if needed, use video calls for tutoring if anyone was unable to meet up.

Momo blushed at her master's praise.

"Kero, Midoriya, are you a foreigner?" Tsuyu suddenly asked from across the aisle.

Izuku, taken aback slightly at the question, looked up from the paperwork Momo was writing. "I'm sorry," he said to the girl hoping she would repeat herself.

"Don't apologize, I'm a very blunt speaker. And that probably came off as insensitive," Tsuyu bowed her head. "What I meant by that was, some of your features don't look Japanese and the way you speak is very formal."

Izuku sat for a moment to consider that he was a bit of an oddity compared to most people. "I guess in a way I can see why you would come to that conclusion. My father is not Japanese, he's European, from the old country. And I speak like this because, well it simply is just how my father spoke when I was around him, he's a very… aristocratic sort."

Momo snorted because the master was by all rights royalty. "Sorry, I just had a funny thought," the girl played off the amusement as something else.

Tsuyu sat in contemplation that Izuku was some sort of rich kid, though he didn't seem like it. Turning to look at Momo, who she knew was definitely a rich kid. So she considered that maybe she had been making some assumptions about her classmates when she should be getting to know these people instead.

"I was thinking that you had such a cool aura," Kirishima blurted out from his spot next to the frog girl. "I mean, you are strong, like crazy strong you even hurt yourself. You can do so much awesome stuff with that level of strength. Meanwhile I can just do this."

Izuku shook his head as he really didn't like the topic being about him, so if he could transition it to the other students so they talked about themselves then that would be more than fine for him. "I think you have a fine quirk Kirishima, and while I might have a higher than normal physical prowess, not every situation calls for that or even is applicable. Not every villain can be defeated by punching them and a quirk like yours will be able to help so many people as a professional hero."

"That might be true, but how you appeal to the public will play a great role in your success, and while I have charm and power to spare," Aoyama flipped his hair dramatically. "I can see that you have something of a noble grace that I think more heroes are simply lacking."

"Like Bakugou," Tsuyu said flatly as the other boy was so bombastic and crude that she was quite upset with how he spoke about everyone else. "He's so unhinged, he'll never be popular."

"The fuck did you say about me Frog Face," Bakugou threatened from the back row of the bus.

"See," Tsuyu smirked from setting off the other student.

"Hey, keep it down, we're here," Aizawa announced to the students to get them to settle back into their seats.

Upon arriving at the large building, the students were let in only to find The Space Hero: Thirteen waiting for them, but as the doors shut behind them, Izuku turned to face it when he heard the click of the lock engaging and the girl from his class that had elongated earlobes shared a curious look with him. Izuku knew that he should be paying more attention as the hero went on about her quirk and how responsible use was paramount to ensuring the safety of others but that ever growing dread he had felt was making it feel like he could hear screams in his head and then large portals started to form in the center of the complex filling the area with threatening looking individuals.

"Sensei what do we do?" Izuku questioned because this seemed to be the root cause of his unease throughout the day. Though it didn't exactly tell him all that much other than someone or some organization was making an attempt to attack the school. Their goals would be unknowable to him unless he did some investigation of his own.

Aizawa dropped his goggles to keep his attention on the villains. "Huddle up, Thirteen protect the students," he instructed as he looked over the rising ranks of villains that kept pouring into the facility. "They didn't trip the alarms by using this quirk."

"Only Thirteen and Eraserhead?" A shadowy figure spoke from the void. "The class schedule said this was to be All Might's class and he isn't even here?"

"Of course they are after him," Aizawa muttered as he readied himself for combat.

"Sensei," Izuku spoke up as he could still hear the screams, only this time it was clearer. They were those of his classmates as when one was so close to this much imminent death, it was possible to hear the echoes of massacre as they rippled through the afterlife.

"Stay with the class," Aizawa snapped as he did not want a student trying to say they should be fighting. That level of arrogance would simply get them killed. "Thirteen try to contact the school and begin evacuation."

Izuku opened his mouth to inform his teacher the doors were locked when the man jumped down the steps to engage the villains.

"Come along, outside we'll get back up once you are all at a safe distance," Thirteen said as she started to corral the students to the door only to stop as a shadow formed in their path.

"It is such a shame that All Might is not here. Forgive the audacity, but he was the intended target, we would have been more than agreeable to let you watch us end the life of The Symbol of Peace," the shadow sighed. "But alas, it would seem that we will have to kill and display you for his arrival, so he knows what failings he has taken part in."

Thirteen raised her hand in preparation to activate her quirk when two boys jumped in her way. "Not if we kill you first," Katsuki roared as he exploded his quirk into the mist, while Kirishima slashed his hardened arm into the dark.

"Bet you didn't see that coming," Kirishima smirked.

"Oh an excellent surprise attack, I had not assumed you hero students would be brave enough, but that is after all my mistake for underestimating you. Afterall U.A. is only for the best of the best," the smoke acknowledged the potential effectiveness of the opening volley. "However, something of that caliber will not be enough. So begone."

Izuku covered his face as he felt the darkness envelop him. In it, he could see a figure standing in a suit. Being that must be the actual body of the villain, it was no wonder the others failed to attack it. Exposing only the bare minimum of yourself when most people would try to attack the most mass possible would ensure they made their first mistake which could end up being their last. The piercing yellow eyes turned to him as he fell, a sense of shock must have gone through this villain to know that someone was able to perceive him, but Izuku was not just any creature. He was THE creature of the night, no darkness could exist that he could not see into clear as daylight. None could hide in the shadows from him.

Splashing down in the waters below, Izuku's first complaint about getting soaked led into relief that this was not running water or else he would have to pick a side and then find a way around it if he chose wrong. But a lake was just a body of water so he could spend his time figuring out what to do when he noticed a shark-like villain approaching him rapidly. A waiting maw of rows of razor sharp teeth and Izuku responded to that with his own feral grin.

However he had not expected what happened next as he saw a pair of thick legs slam into the villains face. "Miss Asui," Izuku said before her long tongue wrapped around his waist and she made a break for the surface dragging him along to an object floating on the water.

Izuku landed on the deck of the large boat next to two of his classmates, Asui and the purple haired boy who was coughing up some water.

"We seem to be in some trouble," Tsuyu stated as she was looking around the boat.

"Yeah, we're totally surrounded," Mineta cried out as he could see a dozen aquatic villains in the water. Then he took a breath to calm himself. "But we are fine here, All Might will be here soon and he'll mop up all the villains."

"That is if he knows to be here," Tsuyu stated. "He might be running late or a last minute change happened and he's not coming at all."

This revelation scared Mineta who began to nervously shake. "Even more they said they had a plan to kill All Might, I don't think whoever these people are would be able to gather up all these villains if they didn't believe they had a chance to actually accomplish that goal either."

Mineta was near breakdown at the logical conclusion being made. "You're right," Izuku said as he thought about the situation. "All Might is… not at his peak. It wouldn't be impossible for villains to know this, with all the different quirks out there, so they must have seen something that is overlooked by everyone else."

Izuku figured that it had something to do with the injury All Might sustained that necessitated him passing on his quirk. "And then to devise a way to exploit that," Izuku paused because with all the screaming in his head, he had the thought that he could let it happen. It wasn't as if he was in any real danger. He could make an escape, no one would notice his missing body among the carnage that was bound to happen. He could then go to his mother, take her out of the country, and just admit this stupid plan of All Might's to make him a hero was a failure.

But looking at Tsuyu and Mineta's fearful faces, and he could hear All Might's voice, talking about how he could be a hero. It would surely be a betrayal to call it quits now. "Right," Izuku sighed because wasn't this exactly what All Might had wanted for him, to not just show the world but himself that he wasn't a monster.

And a monster would look out for himself. Would leave the innocent to die.

Izuku didn't want to be a monster.

Taking a deep breath, Izuku exhaled heavily. "Please stay here, I'm going to take care of this," Izuku instructed as he placed a foot on the guardrail of the boat.

"Wait, let us help," Tsuyu grabbed onto her classmate's arm. "We're heroes too."

Izuku looked at the girl who had some strong determination and the frightened boy who still had a bit of fire in his eyes. "Alright," Izuku nodded. "I'm going to hit the water, when I do, you throw as many balls in as you call, the displacement will cause everything to rapidly come in, balls and villains included, they'll get stuck together and be unable to do anything."

"Then what do you want me to do?" Tsuyu said as she knew what Midoriya wanted Mineta to do, who after hearing a plan looked a bit less afraid, but what was her role going to be.

"After that, there might still be an aquatic villain who didn't get caught, but they might be more focused on freeing their comrades, but if not, then you and Mineta go one way, towards the stairs, get out of the water as fast as you can and back to the entrance. I'll go another, they'll pick the slower target, that will buy you time," Izuku said.

"But then you're on your own," Tsuyu realized what that would make Midoriya, the bait.

"Right but I'll be able to get off one more punch," Izuku said as he hadn't drank blood in a few days, his regeneration would take too long to kick in to heal him to use that arm again in any quick succession.

"This is crazy," Tsuyu gulped because she was not a fan of this plan if it meant that someone else could still get hurt.

"That's all we have though, and if I knew this was going to happen, I would be better prepared," Izuku sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair. "But it's such a hassle when this is all we can do."

"Alright, if you're sure," Tsuyu gulped when Izuku leaped from the edge of the ship to throw a punch straight into the water.

There was a brief stillness and yet it felt so very long before a vortex appeared in the water, almost as if someone had just opened a plug. This was the cue Mineta needed to start throwing balls into the water, even as the boat threatened to tip over. Tsuyu, seeing the danger, stuck herself to the floor and grabbed onto the boy with her tongue so he didn't fall in as they were almost perpendicular to the water as it rushed to fill in the void.

The resulting spout of water hit the ceiling, no doubt alerting everyone who could see the area that something big had just gone down. But the plan seemed to work as the villains were in a mass and Midoriya was paddling towards the center of the complex. "Come on," Tsuyu said as she jumped off the back of the boat to make it to the shoreline dragging Mineta behind her since even that was faster than the other boy could swim.

Izuku splashed up onto the shore clutching a broken arm. His body screamed that he shouldn't have done this as he was so undernourished. But he didn't see any other way other than waiting to see if the villains would come up one by one and even that would still require him to get blood on his hands to fight them off. The plan he created was possibly the only way that didn't end in a mass slaughter. But now he could smell what his body craved.

The scent of blood in the air drew his attention to a large figure pinning down his teacher. "Sensei's blood," Izuku licked his lips as he was feeling so very hungry. But this large thing was in his way. "I need a plan."

That statement was thrown out the window when he heard the bones in his teacher's arm snap, the torn skin exposing so much wonderful blood to the air that he acted on instinct.

Aizawa groaned as he felt his arm being crushed in a vice by this villain whose quirk he couldn't shut off. The other villain taunted him with details of this Nomu, when suddenly he felt a hurricane of wind before he was released and then a tremendous crash sounded somewhere in the distance.

It took him a second to realize that the Nomu just got hit hard, by what Aizawa was going to assume All Might had arrived until he heard another sound. The kind that accompanied a person messily eating, the sounds of slurping. Turning his head which hurt from getting hit in the face, he saw next to him, Midoriya of all people kneeling on the ground, both arms broken into a mess of flesh and shattered bones, and yet he was licking the dirt.

"Sorry, sensei," Izuku gasped out as he dragged his tongue up the dirt, ignoring that it was mixing with the blood. "I didn't think you'd mind."

Aizawa didn't understand what he was looking at when he heard a shout from the main villain and the nomu was back by their side, looking dented but healing. It made him understand that even Midoriya's flashy quirk wasn't enough to take down this villain in one hit and with the reckless boy's broken arms, he wasn't going to be much help. "Move Midoriya, you didn't stop it, it regenerates," Aizawa shouted as at least Midoriya could use his quirk to get away.

Izuku paused as he looked his sensei in the eyes. "It what?" he said almost hypnotically.

"Super regeneration," Shigiraki answered for the hero. "The nomu will shrug off whatever hit you deal, and keep fighting. Now tear those broken wings."

Izuku felt himself picked up and then with the sound of rending flesh his broken arms were removed, landing him on his feet in front of this glorious creature. Staring up at it he could only think of one thing.

Shigaraki cackled as it was obvious the hero student was too scared to move, knowing that death stood before it.

As much as he detested it when students tried to coast through their life on a strong quirk, he didn't actually want them to do something so stupid as to get themselves killed. And now he had front row seats to watch a student be ripped up like tissue paper.

Izuku felt that pounding in his head. A desire for blood stronger than he'd ever had before in his life. Nothing had compared to this moment, but it was like a gift from God himself. "Blood," Izuku whispered before he lunged at the muscular throat of the Nomu, all that precious delicious blood just pumping away behind the pulsing thick veins.

Neither the hero nor villain was ready to see the student throw himself into the All Might killing weapon. Nor for the Nomu to let out a hellish screech as it had a parasite attached to its neck. That brief moment of inaction was all that Izuku needed to begin his feast.

"Th-throw him off," Shigaraki screamed after coming back to his senses. If this stupid kid was going to try a hail mary it was his right to show the world why the League of Villains couldn't be stopped.

The Nomu reached up only for a squelching sound to fill the air as a fresh pair of arms burst out of Izuku's exposed shoulder sockets. The new hands firmly grasped the Nomu's arms and easily held them back. "No," Izuku muttered through a filled mouth. "More. More."

Izuku unlatched his fangs and cried out into the air. "MMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Then the Nomu was brought to the ground, weakened by its Super Regeneration quirk working beyond all else to replace the rapid drain of blood. The creature could do nothing but try to win this war of ultimate revival versus ultimate hunger. Izuku grinned like a beast as his red eyes reflected in the light, each massive gulp of blood filled his body with a strength he'd never known. Izuku kept going, it was like an unending buffet that he had waited years just to be granted entry too and he was going to indulge until he wasn't able to anymore.

And after a minute of consuming the life of this animal, he finally felt it. A fullness that didn't exist in his life before. Letting go of the Nomu that collapsed on the ground beneath his feet. "Indescribable," Izuku said before he turned to the villain. "I wonder if you will taste better."

Shigaraki backed away from the crazy teenager that looked at him with the same desire to kill that he'd seen on other villains, but after witnessing what he did, he knew this person could make good on their intentions. He was only able through the training his sensei had given him put up his arm to block the maw that approached him. Sharpened teeth dug into his skin and he could feel the suction. "Get off," Shigaraki screamed as he grabbed the boy's face to decay it only to watch in horror as all the damage he did was undone by each drink the boy took of him.

He knew that if this kept up he would pass out from blood loss before his quirk could kill the child and then the student would feed on him. So he could only do one thing, he decayed himself. Losing an arm allowed him to put distance between himself and the feral beast that just angrily snapped the bone in his mouth and made another attempt, but it would seem that Kurogiri was useful for something as appeared and took him into the portal to escape, only to hear Kurogiri scream as sharp nails speared into his collar.

"Food don't leave," Izuku hissed as he didn't want any of his meals to get away. He could have a smorgasbord of delectable humans to feast on now.

Kurogiri knowing that with a hold on him, he couldn't close the portal, it would expose sensei to the heroes and in such a disadvantageous position they would surely lose. He could not take that risk, so he pushed Shigaraki, who was crucial to the plan, through and then allowed himself to be dragged back to the facility, like to be disemboweled by this thing wearing a student's skin.

Izuku grinned as he flicked out his tongue, he caught one of his foods before it left and that meant he could eat. Bringing down his head he was going to bite into the body when he felt ropes wrap around his throat. Turning to see who was trying to lynch him, he could see his teacher straining with one arm to hold him back. But this didn't look like his teacher, this was another meal.

Izuku dropped the gasping villain and raised his arms so he could grab the hero and devour him when just before he could reach him, he took a knee to the skull, sending him rocketing across the field.

With a growl Izuku rose up to see who struck him and let out a snarl. "Of course," Izuku hissed because if anyone would stop him, it was the hero.

"Young Midoriya stand down," All Might ordered as he'd arrived on the scene to see some carnage already in progress.

"Don't stop me, I hunger," Izuku snapped as his long tongue dripped saliva on the ground.

"I know, but you are better than this," All Might held up his fists because he could tell from the downed enemy and all the blood on Izuku's mouth he'd finally given in and fed on another person. The two limbs in the UA uniform in the dirt told him that Izuku had been likely driven to it out of necessity though. If Izuku was truly using One for All and his full vampiric might, this could be a greater threat than any villain he had ever faced.

"But what if I wasn't," Izuku said as his fingernails formed into claws. "I was going to run, to let the others die."

"But you didn't," All Might shouted. "The two students you saved told me you helped them. That isn't what a monster would do is it?"

Izuku stared at him for a moment before growling. "No."

"Then do you think maybe you might still be able to continue being the hero that protected them?" All Might said because he wasn't entirely sure if he was capable of taking down Midoriya in this state and he knew it would be better if the student was able to bring themselves back under control.

The piercing red eyes flicked around, to the man who mentored and believed in him, to the other man who simply detested him. "Think of what your mother would say," All Might said. "Didn't you say you controlled yourself just to live a peaceful life with her. If you become that monster, you'll never have that again. Not unless you calm down."

Izuku pulled his lips back threateningly before inhaling deeply and closing his eyes. "I'm… good," Izuku hissed before shaking his head and feeling his fingers flex repeatedly. "I need to go though. Need to move, be somewhere the blood isn't."

"Fine, that's good, head out and go somewhere far from people," All Might instructed as it would seem that Midoriya needed time to clear his head. With the first real combat and a hell of a doozy at that for any student to undergo and then all of his senses into overdrive by the carnage was likely the main problem his student faced.

Izuku nodded and then jumped straight up. Piercing through the ceiling and then running down the roof to jump into the nearby treeline.

All Might sighed as he looked around before going to Aizawa who was struggling to push himself up off the ground. "Shota, let me help you," All Might said before he deflated at the man's harsh gaze.

"What the fuck was that?!" Aizawa demanded to know.

All Might stood there for a few moments before he watched Aizawa shut off his own quirk and he could regain his bulk. "Don't worry, it's handled."

"Like hell it is," Aizawa snapped as he felt the larger man get him on his feet. He watched as other heroes swarmed the facility as police entered after to begin taking the villains into custody but his focus was drawn back to the ceiling and the new skylight a student put in.

Notes:

Not dead. Just, been busy. But I am trying to work on some of my older stories to at the bare minimum get them to a point that could be a tolerable ending rather than a simple cliffhanger.
