Chapter Text

"Ugh how do you guys beat me every time!?" Jay yelled slamming the video game controller against the table as he was beaten once again by his fellow ninja.

Cole chuckled seeing the blue clad ninja so upset about losing the game once again. Cole fist-bumped Kai as Kai laughed at Jay. “Oh come on Jay, it's not the first time, you should be used to it.” He teased.

“Oh stop being so mean to Jay, he's just a little guy.” Lloyd said with a mischievous smirk on his face as he braced to receive Jay's wrath.

Zane ran a hand down his face as he sighed. “Okay, okay, let's not forget what happened last time you teased Jay too much over the game.” The ice ninja spoke, trying too keep the peace between the group.

Before Jay could say anything else Nya walked into the livingroom with a order slip in her hand. “The newest shipment of teas have arrived, can you boys come help out with unloading it?” She asked as she turned to make her way back to the stockroom.

The boys got up, including the infuriated Jay, and headed out to the stockroom where the delivery truck was waiting.

“What is on the truck for us today Nya?” Zane asked as he caught up with the water ninja and walked beside her. Nya glance at him and smiled a bit as Lloyd butted in and answered for her.

"It's the Yesterday Tea." Lloyd answered as he walked behind the two. “After the incident with the tomorrow Tea, we thought if we were to ever have another incident with it again.” Lloyd explained.

“I guess that makes sense. But how do we know that it would actually counteract the effects of Tomorrow Tea if that was used on us, not as a reversal agent?” Zane asked curiously.

“Whatever it is, let's just get this over with so we can get back to the game and I can beat you on the next level.” Jay complained. Nya rolled her eyes in return. “Jay, stop complaining babe, it's not cute.” She chuckled a bit.

As they made it back to the stockroom it seemed that Wu and Misako had beaten them to it and had unloaded the majority of the crates from the truck. Lloyd sighed as he looked on at his mom and uncle and just shook his head.

Wu looked over at the group once they had entered the stockroom. “Ahh, there you are. Come, help unload the last few, I'm not sure which crate has the specialty teas so please be careful and gentle with the crates.” He said making eye contact with Cole when he said that.
Cole looked at his sensei in dramatic shock. “Why would you think I wouldn’t be gentle? I am so gentle.” He chuckled as he went to get one of the crates off the truck. But, before he could grab it Jay grabbed it first. “Slow poke.” Jay teased as he walked off with it, still salty about losing to the Earth ninja on the video game.

Cole just rolled his eyes and grabbed the last crate off the truck after everyone else had grabbed a crate as well. But as he pulled the crate off the truck the strap came loose from the crate causing the crate and its contents to crash on Cole. Cole hit the floor with a thud and a loud yelp of sorts.

Everyone was startled by the sudden crash and sounds of distress. “Cole? Is everything okay?” Nya called as she made her way back into the stockroom. Only to be taken back by the sight before her.

Jay, Kai, Lloyd, and Zane hurried back to the stockroom when they heard Nya yell for them. “We have a problem!” When they all reentered the stock room they were greeted by Nya holding a bundle of Cole’s clothes.

Kai walked up to the bundle in Nya’s arms and gently moved the fabric over a bit to show a small child about 2 years old, with the same floppy black hair and brown eyes as Cole. “What the…”

Zane took a look at the crate that had busted and looked through the labels that were still intact. “It seems that the jar of yesterday tea has broken and spilled all over Cole.” Zane said as he stood to examine the sleeping child. “He seems alright, but he does have a small bump and a few scrapes from the crate hitting him.” Zane stated.

Kai sighed frustrated by this. “This guy, ugh, what are we going to do now? None of us have taken care of a child, at least in a long time.”

Jay ran a hand over his face as he thought about what was going to happen next and what they would need to do to take care of a child. Lloyd was just in shock, but also trying to contain his laughter. “I can’t believe he's a baby.” He laughed.

Nya shushed Lloyd. “Stop that, you are going to wake him up and he will freak out. But the next biggest issue is telling Sensei and Misako. So, who’s going to tell them?” She asked as she gently rocked the child in her arms to keep him asleep as long as possible.

Zane sighed when no one else volunteered to tell the elders about Cole. “Alright, I will let them know of Cole's current condition.”

Meanwhile, Wu and Misako had been trying to get the shipment organized when everyone went off to see what had happened. About five minutes later they saw Zane leave the stock room and approach them. “What happened?” Misako asked.
“We have a small problem.”

“We have a small problem.” Zane spoke apprehensively
“One of the crates broke, over Cole’s head. And, something interesting has happened.” Zane spoke softly as he led the two elders to the game room down the hall where Nya and Kai were trying to get the now toddler Cole to take a much needed nap.

“No! No no no!” Cole protested as he rubbed his eyes sleepily, trying to fight the inevitable as Nya rocked him. “Cole, you need to take a nap, I know this is very overwhelming, but you need to sleep, you’ll feel better afterwards.” She spoke gently, trying to calm him and lull him to sleep.

“Well, this is quite unexpected.” Wu spoke intrigued with their current predicament. “When did this happen?” Misako asked as she walked over to Nya and looked at Cole who was wrapped up in his old shirt.

“Do we have any tomorrow tea in stock?” Zane asked as he quickly covered his ears as Cole let out a screech as Kai took him from Nya and walked to the kitchen to get some warm milk to hopefully get Cole to sleep.

“No we don’t, and now Cole is stuck as a baby and we have no baby supplies and we have no idea what we're doing, this is a disaster!” Jay spoke up from the couch freaking out about this whole situation.

“Jay! Stop freaking out!” Lloyd snapped at Jay. “You need to calm down! This isn’t as bad as you're making it out to be.” “We will figure this out, Jay, I promise. We all just need to stay calm.” Nya spoke gently to her freaking out boyfriend.

Back in the kitchen Kai had warmed up some milk and was feeding it to Cole in a cup. Kai swayed back and forth with Cole in his arms as he drank the milk, his cries having died down and his eyes starting to close as sleep took over.

Kai smiled gently to himself and set the rest of the milk down and walked back to the game room with the sleeping Cole in his arms. “He’s asleep.” Kai announced softly as to not wake up Cole.

Wu watched as Kai laid Cole down to the couch so he could take a much needed nap. He smiled softly seeing Kai’s brotherly instincts coming into play in this situation. “Unfortunately, to answer your question Zane, we don’t have any tomorrow tea at this moment. But it will be arriving in the next shipment, three weeks from now.”

“Three weeks?!” Jay shouted in panic, stirring Cole from his nap for a few moments. “We can’t wait a few weeks! I’m not good with kids!” Jay shouted once more, starting to get up and pace back and forth in front of the couch.

As Jay continued to pace and ranted on in panicked mumblings. Zane started to notice that Nya, Kai, and Lloyd were looking a bit pale and out of it. “Nya, Kai, Lloyd, are you alright? You looked pale.” He spoke, concern lacing his voice as he walked over to Kai and placed his cold hand against his forehead, only to be met with what seemed to be a raging fever emanating from Kai. “You are burning up.” He spoke as he noticed that Nya almost fell to the ground before Lloyd weakly caught her and held her up.

“Mom? Uncle? What's happening?” Lloyd spoke weakly, and before they could answer the three of them seemed to pass out. Once they hit the floor, a bright light flashed from each of them, stunning the others.

Jay was taken back as he looked down and saw Kai, Nya, and Lloyd had also become babies. “Oh s-” Zane covered his mouth before he could finish his sentence. “Well, this is definitely a turn of events.” Zane spoke as he turned to Wu and Misako for guidance.

Wu took a look at the three and gave a soft sigh. “It seems they must have come into contact with some of the residual yesterday tea.”

Nya started crying as she crawled over to Kai and snuggled up close to him, Kai in turn gave his sister a hug to comfort her. “It otay sissy.” Kai sniffled a bit. Lloyd on the other hand was giggling and crawled over to Misako as he pulled himself up onto his feet and looked up at her. “Mama!” He smiled.

Jay watched the scene before him as Misako picked up Lloyd and held him close. “Wait, does this mean I’m going to turn into a baby!?”

Wu gave a gentle nod. “It is very possible. You did help clean up the mess.” Jay's eyes went wide as he panicked. “Well that's just great!”

Wu and Misako looked at Zane and then at each other. “This is going to be a long few weeks.” Misako spoke with a sigh.
