Chapter Text
Love.
That’s all Vlad ever wanted.
But years ago, that was taken.
Vlad was a man of power and wealth, a half-ghost with a dark agenda.
However, that’s not how the silverfox was before that.
Before, he was an intelligent college student, majoring in physics and engineering, but an accident between him and his two best friends changed all of that. That very day, Vlad lost everything.
His friends.
His social life.
His beloved.
Everything was taken from him and he slipped into a madness like no other.
For the next 20 years, Vlad established his wealth. Robbing banks, taking down multimillionaires, becoming one of the most powerful and influential people in the world.
But it wasn’t enough.
His powers weren’t enough.
He wanted more.
A companion.
So, here he was.
In his lab trying to create the perfect clone. Over and over again, he’s tried, only to end up with imperfections. Danielle was probably the closest he’s gotten to a perfect clone. Yet, she betrayed him and left Vlad heartbroken.
Vlad sighed looking at the teenager in the glass pod.
Maybe i should start fresh. He thought.
Then it hit Vlad.
What if I made a child..an infant…Yes, this could work.
And so Vlad got started with his plan.
Weeks.
Weeks had passed.
Clone after clone.
Each one unstable and breaking Vlad’s heart.
Then the day finally came.
“File 2968” Vlad commanded.
“Subject is finally stable” His holographic assistant answered.
Vlad was relieved to say the least, he wasn’t sure how many more clones he could go through, each one had been harder than the previous. Vlad just wanted a son, someone to love and cherish him.
Is that simply too much to ask? He asked himself.
He slowly flew over to the giant tank containing an infant.
Vlad smiled as he put his hand on the glass and admired his creation.
“I did it, I finally did it”
A few days passed and to say he was exhausted was an understatement, the endless nights of crying left him with little sleep.
He did not expect being a father was so hard and he did his best to calm the little one down.
The little one…He thought. He needs a name.
Vlad looked down at the child, he never did give the little guy a name.
The only name that did come to mind was Oliver, like the boy from his favorite book Oliver Twist.
“Oliver, that’s what I’ll call you”
And surely he had to settle on a middle name as well.
Vlad smiled.
“Oliver James Masters” he said, wrapping the baby in a blanket and putting him to bed.
He needed to get sleep himself now that Oliver was asleep.
So he laid on the couch, exhausted once again.
And letting out a soft sigh.
He was happy.
Finally happy.
