Work Text:

The Snow Tribe led them to the only wooden building in the village. There was a fire pit in the middle, the snow was actually mettled in the building. They stay down around the fire in a circle. There was also food there. The tribe members gave leaf members some cooked fish which they gladly devoured. Sun and Monty sat together close to Gregory.

“So..” Monty breaks the silence while everyone is sitting criss crossing and eating the fish. “ Gregory… what happened?” Monty asked.

Gregory eats some of the fish then swallows. “The Ruin happened…” his voice was sad. He lost his mom due to it. Sun felt bad for the kid. “It started with Eclipse.” Gregory looked at the Sun. “One day they disappeared and when they came back they were all broken, they acted insanely silly. They tried to get me to play a game, luckily Roxanne, my mom, came….” Gregory swallowed again. “Then… Eclipse did something to my mom, she started to act more violent, overprotective of me. Before I knew it everyone was infected by the virus.” Gregory shuddered. “They tore almost everyone apart, but Roxy kept me safe, she said she loved me, but she was more possessive than anything. Then one day a giant brain came, claiming himself to be the Nou, he sent the animatronic on their way, infecting others. Roxanne kept me close, but one day I managed to escape. I… took her eyes away, I ripped them out, it was the only way I could escape. Roxanne in return… ripped one of mine out.” Gregory said it with such pain; The poor boy. Gregory then lifted up his ski mask a little to reveal an ugly scar, of where an eye should be instead of a scar. He pulled down the sky marks and continued. “I escaped to the mountains where I found some other survivors as well. Roxanne followed me and now prowls these mountains. The reason she stole on of your children was because she thought it was me.” Gregory looked down, like it was his fault. “I became the leader of the Snow Tribe, and have been ever since.” Gregory comes to the conclusion.

The silence returned, no one knew what to say so they just continued to eat awkwardly in silence. Monty broke the silence once more with their friendly voice.

“I think that was mighty tough of ya.” Monty mutters giving Gregory a reassuring pat on the back. “You ain’t be yourself anymore.”

“Yeah,” Sun joins in. It must’ve been hard for Gregory to be by himself, Watching the whole world collapse, for all the survivors, this didn't just affect the animatronics, this hurted everyone. This hurt the people living on this planet that was recused to a wasteland. “Now that we have the cure, we can cure your mom.” Sun nods in confidence. He could save her.

“I know.” Gregory looks up, despite his goggles on, Sun knew that there was a spark of hope in his remaining eye. He had a chance of getting his mother back, his real one, not the virus driven one.

“Then let’s get to it!” Monty says getting up.

“Let’s go get my Mom back”

-----------------------------------

The celestial family we’re having a Movie night, with Monty joining as well. Monty and Earth we’re snuggled up, while solar and Lunar we're sitting together. Moon sat in the middle with no one to be with, or snuggle with. He missed the Sun.

They were watching ‘The Phantom of the Opera Since it was Earth’s turn for a movie. Everyone was watching happily in silence while Moon hugged a pillow that didn't make up for his brother’s presence.

He hated how they were just acting normal, like Sun was never a part of the family. Like Sun doesn't even matter anymore, he wanted to go back to work, but the family would drag him back. He felt his eyes prickle, he wasn't sure if Sun was dead, or if Sun was suffering. He didn't know any of it. He didn't know anything. He didn't know if he was going to be able to save his brother.

He tried to calm himself down as he just tried to keep the confusing emotions down. He knew Sun would do almost the exact same thing.

Then the cats come up. It was Rusty, and Oreo  Sun’s cats that he had kept hidden for so long. Though he no longer hid them from the rest of his family. The cats were confused about where  Sun had gone. Rusty had looked around all over the pizzaplex, which Moon had to on hunts to find the tabby cat. The black and white one, which Sun named Oreo, usually stayed around the places Sun went, which is mostly the daycare and his room. Moon felt bad that he couldn’t explain what happened to Sun to his cat’s. Who just waited every day. Patiently.

Even with Sun not there, the cats slept in his bed hoping for his return, Moon confessed that he joined those cats some nights looking for some familiarity that used to belong to his brother. Moon noticed how messy his room was, so he cleaned it up, even buying some new cat toys for Oreo and Rusty.

Right now Oreo and Rusty were resting on his lap. They purred as Moon petted them both. Moon let himself relax to the purring of the cats as the movie continued on about the opera singer at the man with the disfigured face.

He missed Sun

--------------------------

Monty, Sun and Gregory were trekking through the snow. It was up to Sun’s knees and quite difficult to maneuver in it. Gregory had an easier time probably since he spent a good portion of his life here.

They had a plan. Gregory would distract Roxanne, since Roxanne wanted him. Monty would try to pin down Roxanne while Sun would try to insert the cure in her. And if the child wasn’t gone, he would save the kid from Roxanne.

Right now they had to find her. Apparently this entire mountain range was her territory which means she could be anywhere. Which is a big area.

Suddenly a cry is heard. It was the child! The three looked at each other and quickened the pace. The child continued crying as it got louder. They 're getting close. They then came to a clearing.

Roxanne was in the middle with the leaf chilled shivering and crying. Sun felt his heart ache for the kid. Roxanne kept on trying to nuzzle the child but that only resulted in the child screaming louder. The kid is going to get hypothermia! If they didn't have it already!

“Year up.” Monty says nodding at Gregory. Gregory takes a deep breath and approaches the clearing.

“ROXY!” Gregory yelled. Roxanne quickly bared her teeth as she turned around ferociously “It’s me! Gregory!” Gregory slowly backs away while Monty and Sun started to turn to try and jump Roxy from behind. Just like last time. This time he was going to be getting help from Monty! Thai should actually be easier!

Roxanne continues to prowl closer to Gregory growling and staying low to the ground. She was trying to protect the kid who she thought was Gregory! She must not realize how much time has passed.

“Your son! Remember?” Gregory sounds desperate. Roxanne doesn’t recognize him. She was about to leap but Monty leapt at the same time pinning down Roxanne to the snow. She thrashed and growled. Even biting Monty on the arm. He yelled in pain but he continued to hold her down. “Don’t hurt her!” Gregory yells. He rushes to the child as he tries to comfort the kid who had stopped crying.

“I won’t!” Monty exclaims. Sun rushes over to Roxanne who Monty was starting to lose their grip on. “Hurry it up Sun!” Monty warns.

“TRYIN!” Sun says as he opens a control panel on the back of Roxanne. It was almost completely frozen over and it was starting to crackle with electricity. Sun gasped, this might hurt. He shoved the cure inside the control panel. An electric shock courses through Sun.

He saw almost everything black out only  for a second then found himself face first in the snow. Everything hurts… The electric must’ve been her overheating or just a security measure of some sort. He groaned as he tried to get up.

“SUN!” Monty says rushing over to help Sun up. “You alright?!” Monty grabbed Sun carefully helping him up.

“Y-yeah.” Sun's voice says as he looks at his hand which we’re slightly burned. He sighed as he looked over at Roxy who stopped moving. “Is she…?” Did he kill someone else?

“I think she’s resetin” Monty says.

“Thank goodness…” Sun sighs as he puts his hand on chest. Suddenly someone small came hugging his legs. He saw the little leaf tribe member. Sun picked them up and cradled the kid in his arms. Poor kid…

Gregory stepped forward looking over at Roxy in nervousness. ‘Mom…?” He asked carefully. A whirring from Roxanne started. She slowly got up as Gregory tensed. She looked around and her ears twitched. Was this Roxanne? “Mom?”  Gregory repeated.

“...Gregory?” Roxanne asks softly. Gregory ran into Roxanne’s arms and cried. Back. “

“MOM! It's really you!” Gregory was up to his Mom’s height but it didn’t matter. Gregory was still a little boy, he was just forced to grow up.

“GREGORY!” Roxanne hugged him. They stood there embracing each other as Sun rocked the child back and forth in his arms. While Monty stood next to Sun with a happy grin on their face.

Roxanne was back

---------------

Another one of his infected animatronics he had lost connection with. He even tried sending a shock wave. It didn’t stop the cure from working.

He was slowly losing control of his perfect world, dying yes, but perfect. Didn’t matter, this world was bound to die anyway. It already was, slowly destroying itself. He knew he wasn’t going to last long in this dimension.

But that wasn’t going to stop him from trying to stop the rebellion. He knew that Sun was behind it. He knew it for a while. Dare he say he was impressed with how far Sun got. But alas he still needed to put an end to it.

So he called his daughter, who was in the so-called safe place of this entire world.

The phone rang and rang. He hummed

“Hello?”
