The harsh sound of glass shattering echoes through the small apartment, she finds herself flinching and stepping away as he glares down at her, "I just don't get what the issue is! It was one kiss and we were both drunk! Its not a big deal, Jiah."
A soft scoff falls from the girls lips, "Not a big deal?.. You kissed my best friend!" He rolls his eyes, raising his arm as if to hit her, "Stop blowing it out of proportion!"
She flinches away from his raised hand, looking at the floor, "Get out."
"What?.." his face drops, "Baby-" She shoves his chest, "Get out! Now! Were done!"
As the weeks pass since they ended things, the loneliness begins to kick in, until the walls of the apartment seem to close in on her and that's when she knows she needs to fix herself up and get back to a normal life. Its on this day when a letter arrives at the door, the envelope is old fashioned, a slightly washed out cream colour with a red waxy stamp sealing it shut, no return address in sight.
'Dearest Jiah,
Before anything else Id like to offer my sincerest condolences on your recent breakup, it cant be easy for you. Secondly and most importantly I am writing to inform you that I have transferred all ownership of my property to you. I want to offer you the chance of a fresh start away from your troubles, Enclosed you will find plane tickets, the key and the address. I hope you will take this opportunity and bring the old house back to life.
