Notes:

SOBS REAL LOUD. Im sorry i originally orphaned this but then i found out you cant edit an orphaned work and i noticed a few things I wanted to fix + i wanted to add some stuff so im reposting it, unorphaned so i can edit it as I see fit. Sorry. Consider this the more polished version.

Side note, this is my first time rewriting a fanfic in a LOOONGGG time, like, a real long time. I’m sorry if they’re out of character, but I tried my best.

Thank you! I hope you enjoy it

Work Text:

“Don’t tell me you’re still moping.” Six said as she walked up behind a sniffling Nine.

Nine had lost his sunglasses after their trip to fifteen’s cabin, and his journey to go get it back had been unsuccessful, and had left him with some bruises on his face. “But, dude! How can I be the totally radical number around here if I don’t have my sunnies?”

Six groaned and walked over to sit beside him. She rolled her eyes as Nine sniffled again, rubbing his eyes. “Dude. You look fine. It isn’t that big of a deal.”

“But it is, though!” Nine exclaimed, tossing his arms into the air and waving them around. “Who am I if I don’t have my sunnies, Six?”

Six looked at Nine like he was stupid, raising an eyebrow. “You’re… Nine? Who else would you be?”

“But I’m not! Without my sunnies, I’m the opposite of cool! I’m… I'm… I'm lame!” With this, he put his head in his hands and began to sob.

Six groaned and stood up. “You are such a baby.” She then walked away, leaving a sniffling Nine by himself again.

The sun was setting over the Equation Playground, and Nine was still moping around, but at least he had stopped crying. Now he was by the swings, sitting and staring at the ground.

“Hey.” Six said, catching his attention. Nine looked up to see Six holding a gift box in her hands. “This is for you, you big cry baby.” Though she sounded annoyed, there was a hint of teasing in her tone.

Six shoved it into his hands, surprising him, and went to sit down next to him. Nine opened the box and inside was a brand new pair of sunglasses, almost exactly like his old ones, but with a rainbow gradient. Mouth agape, he turned to look at Six, who shrugged.

Nine hugged her, causing Six to blink in surprise. “Oh, thank you Sixer!” He exclaimed

Six suppressed a sigh and hugged him back reluctantly. “Yeah, well.. I hate seeing you sad.”
