Chapter Text

It is known by all sea life.  For thousands of years, Sirens and Mermaids have been foes; the two have never gotten along. The two were highly prohibited to be together, and any who did were banished from their pods. 

An even worse penalty would result from a mermaid and siren having a child; they would either be exiled or sent away. Among the unlucky was Jongho. 

Though hybrids were born, he was called an uncontrolled demon child. He tore through his mother's womb, killing her at exactly the  instant that he was born. 

He was born with beautiful eyes and glowing skin like a mermaid. He also had darkened scales all over his body, but what made him even more different was that his scales were way darker than any other siren had ever seen. Jongho's cries were so loud that many pirate ships had crashed that day. 

Jongho's father passed away a few days after he was born, and neither side wanted him, but an unkind old woman decided to take him in.

Even though she kept him, no one, not even the old grandma, was ever courteous to him. The old woman verbally and emotionally assaulted him. She would curse him and beat him for being part siren. 

Others would mock his physical appearance and singing voice. Jongho had always felt lonely and had never received adequate love in his nine years of life. 

Every night since he could remember, he wished to discover individuals who truly loved him. 

His life got much worse on his tenth birthday since it was also a lunar moon, which was when all the sirens went on a feeding frenzy. He never encountered sirens because he grew up with mermaids and only saw them on rare occasions.

From the minute he was woken up, Jongho had felt weird, and he couldn't explain it. He felt hungry as if he needed to hunt for prey; the feeling had never left even when he did eat; Jongho felt like it wasn't enough to satisfy him. 

Jongho tried to just stick with doing his regular routine, but the feeling of hunger never left. What made it worse the smell of the merpeople the sent they gave off just made him want to rip them to shreds. He just couldn't get over it as much as he tried to.

"Jongho were have you been, " the old woman had yelled when he returned home, but he ignored her, which earned him a slap. Jongho hissed, showing his fangs, which caused him to get slapped again."Don't you dare hiss at me, you hybrid demon," said as she started to beat him, but Jongho couldn't take it anymore so slapped her hand away.

Jongho didn't notice, but he scratched the old woman, which caused her to bleed a little. The slight smell of the old woman's blood made Jongho go mad. His how demeanor changed his eyes and scales darkened, he's showed his fangs, and his fingernails grew longer. Jongho made a loud, screeching noise. 

He lost all his senses and began to attack the old woman. She screamed at him to let her go and snap out of it, but Jongho wasn't listening one bit. His mind was clouded with the thought of getting a taste of flesh. He didn't come to until the merpolice busted in " you hybrid devil are under arrest," they said. 

Jongho looked at the police then hurt the old woman. He felt so scared and ashamed he didn't mean for that to happen. 

"I'm sorry it won't happen again," he said in fear. Still, the police didn't have it " I should have never taken you; I should have fed you to the sharks," the old woman said harshly. 

Jongho started to tear up, and at the same time, the merpolice were trying to take him away, but Jongho was quick to getaway. They were shouting at him to stop as he swam away from the farther he swan the lest he could hear the shouting for him to stop. 

" Why did I have to be born like this," he thought to himself as he began crying and continued to swim even farther away from his pod. He was by a school of fish when something large had caught him and the fish. Jongho tried to get out but failed.

 He was brought up to the surface, along with all the other fish. Jongho had taken a big gasp of the fresh air as he was brought up from the water. 

A few more seconds had passed before the net fell on to a hard" Well, look what we have here," 

Jongho heard someone say. He slowly looked around as the net was taken off him. "It looks like I found my ticket to big coin," the voice said. 

Jongho finally met eyes with the human who was talking. The human was tall, large, and smelt really bad. Jongho had never felt so helpless in his life, but he guessed this is his fault for being born the way he is.

Chapter Text

It has been two years since the fisherman captured Jongho. The fisherman only knew about a few species of sea creature, but he had no idea what Jongho was, so he sewed Jongo's mouth shut and tied him to a pole. The fisherman gained money by dubbing Jongho "the freak of the sea" and allowing pirates to beat him in retaliation for the deaths of their comrades at sea.

"I hope your ready because I hear there'll be a lot of pirates on the island today," the fisherman remarked, smacking Jongho awake. Jongho sighed, as you'd think after two years of suffering he'd be accustomed to it, but he had conditioned himself not to respond to the agony.

 Jongho attempted to remain tough, telling himself not to cry even though it hurt and his body couldn't take it any longer. He was shocked he was still alive because he was never fed and was tortured every waking minute. 

This just reinforced Jongho's belief that he would never meet someone to care for or love him. 

Like the fisherman had said, there were a lot of pirates along with townspeople selling goods around. " Welcome to any pirate who wants revenge for a mate. They lost to a demon of the sea then came and take out your pain on this freak of the sea," he said. At first, Jongho thought he would be pain-free because no one came up until he saw five pirates walk up to them. 

After they paid, they each took turns torturing Jongho, who did his hardest to keep his dignity . Following that, additional pirates arrived to join in on the fun. 

After a few hours, Jongho could hardly move, his entire body hurting, but what truly did it  for Jongho was the final pirate punching him in the stomach, knocking him out. The fisherman grinned as he began to tally how much money he had made today. 

The villagers felt horrible for the poor little creature as they all whispers amongst each other but their whispers and small talk had stopped. When a certain individual had walked by.

This individual was a member of one of the pirate crews. Not only that, but he was the second most feared member of a pirate crew He used to be third, but he murdered the former second. 

His stern yet angelic face, which matched his pale complexion and rose pink lips, was the most remarkable feature of him.Not only  that, but he had blond hair and a body any girl would envy, but out of everything about this person, he was also a witch. 

All the townspeople whispered as they watched him look around " I want that, " he said, pointing out the golden watch. " the person just nodded, giving it to him free of charge as he didn't want anything to happen to him. 

What made the townspeople's heart drop was when two little kids had accidentally bumped into " sorry, mister," the two kids said in fear.

The person let out a small chuckle before getting down to their level. "It's fine. Just watch where you're going next," he said. The two kids nodded. The person smiled before snapping his fingers to make two pears appear " wow, they said. 

"You have,e them as long as you promise to watch where you're going, " the person said smiling.

 " Hay getaway," a townsperson was about to say but was cut off by the person looking at him with glowing red eyes then back at the two kids.

 " We promise," they both said taking the pears from the person " wow these are delicious," they said as both of them took a bite. 

The person smiled as he got up and began to walk around again. The townspeople were still holding their breath around him, hoping no one would make him mad. He was also known to have a short temper, and when he pissed, anything in his path would be taken out. 

The person or witch sighed as he couldn't find what he was looking for, but what caught his attention was the sea creature was hanging from a pole. He examined the poor creature. 

He looked so young. The witch walked up to him, frowning " poor thing," he said, putting a hand to the boy's face; he could feel how rusty and dry his scales were " hay no touching unless you gonna pay, " the fisherman said, " pay to what. " 

The fishermen looked at the witch looking up and down, not fearing him at all. "As I said, if you want to torture him, you have to pay," he said. The witch was shocked. 

He didn't know why but it made his blood boil " you've been letting people torture this poor boy," the fisherman laughed " of course, I need to make money somehow, " the fisherman had said. 

" That will not do I want him, " the witch said. The fisherman looked at him like he lost his mind " he's not for sell " he started,

" I wasn't asking, " the witch replied

, " Look, he isn't for sell now go away," the fisherman said as tried to hit the witch but was stopped by the witch whose eye were glowing red " you don't know who you're messing with but why don't you do me a favor and die" the witch said. 

He used his powers to exploded the fisherman's heart; the witched smirk as he watched the dead fisherman's body fall to the ground he laughed a little " don't worry, your safe," he said, putting his hand back on the boy's face he watched as the boy rested on to his hand as Jongho liked the warmth from the person. 

" Hay Seonghwa, we got everything we needed you ready," someone said. The person or witch now known as Seonghwa turned to see his crew mates and captain, " Yeah, I'm ready, but Yunho, I need you to carry  this boy on the ship for me, " Seonghwa said.

 Yunho had a confused looked as he walked over to his hyung " okay, but who is the " Yunho asked as he took Jongho off the pole

" I don't know but we’ll get into that later," he said as he began to walk over. The other Yunho nodded as he looked at the sleeping creature boy as he carried him back to the ship. 

Chapter Text

Ateez was one of the most feared pirates on the sea, and Hoongjoong loved the title he and his crew had gotten. It wasn't always like this  They started from the bottom of the bottom and rose to the top. Some would say it was luck, but Hoongjoong would say its from the hard work and dedication and love that he’s crew had.

Each crew member was special to Hoongjoong, and he would push them to the best of their abilities. He knew any challenge they would face. They would face it together as long as they had each other's back. 

If Hoongjoong doesn't loathe your guts, he'd consider himself a person of understanding. Still, he couldn't figure out why Seonghwa had brought some odd hybrid monster child onboard the ship. It had been a few days, and the child was still resting in the med bay while Seonghwa took care of him. 

To say Seonghaw was taken aback by all the injuries would be an understatement of the month. The poor kid was covered with scars. Some were new, while others were from years past. He noticed lash marks on his back and a few knife wounds. "What did those monsters do to you?" he wondered. 

"Has he woken yet" San had asked when he saw Seonghwa walk out the room? The witch shook his head no " I don't know what's wrong with him, and his health isn't improving, " Seonghwa said, 

" have you tried using your powers, "Yunho asked

 Seonghwa shook his head " I wanted to refrain since he's still a kid, but I might have to at this point," he said.

Seonghwa looked at the sleeping boy " now this isn't gonna hurt,"  he said as he began chanting his spell that would allow him to see and feel everything the kid felt over the years. "I see..wait," Seonghwa said before he started screaming. He never felt this type of pain, even from the worst of the worst patient he ever had.

He started tearing up as he continued to scream from all the boy's pain he had dealt with over the years. He could hear Hoongjoong banging on the door and shouting his name as he couldn't getin door being locked. He always closed when he didn't want to be disturbed by the others. 

He finally saw and felt what was wrong with the boy. He stopped screaming, "that's it," Seonghwa said as the spell he performed ended. Around the same time, Hoongjoong had busted the door open to see what danger Seonghwa was in, but he was acceptable to his surprise.

Seonghwa looked at the sleeping boy then at his members; he smiled " I've figured out why he's not getting better and how to help him," he stated 

"how" ? 

"Simple, I'm gonna need some blood from you guys," Seonghwa said.

" Why you need blood form use? "Yunho asked 

"Well, Jongho here is a half siren, half mermaid, and the only reason he is still alive is because of his siren side. They can go at least two years without eating not only that he's never had a bit of human flesh or blood in the years he's lived, " he explained to the others.

"Okay, but you said he hasn't had blood yet, so what will happen, " Yeosang asked, " I don't know. We'll just have to wait and see now I can't wait anymore," Seonghwa said as he got his supplies ready,

" but hwa, why were you screaming, " Hongjoong asked. 

" I don't know. I just guess I was letting out all the pain he was feeling," Seonghwa explained. The others just nodded, leaving it at that as the began  Seonghwa plan, So as Seonghwa said, he took a pint of blood from each of them " this should do, but I want to test something fist,"  he said, putting the bags of blood away, Yunho and San hold his arms down"  he said.

The two nodded as they approached him each holding one of Jongho's arms down. Seonghwa grinned and approached Jongho. He examined his hand before cutting a small incision and watching as began to bleed.

 The rest stood there watching as Seonghwa placed his palm above Jongho's mouth, allowing blood to drip across his lips. Jongho's lips licked.

 Jongho had awoken from his slumber, just as Seonghwa had predicted. His eyes shone brightly. He was hissing and exposing his sharp fangs. 

Yunho and San were doing everything they could to keep a hold of him as Jongho struggled against them, but he quickly slipped free.  Jongho attacked the first person  he saw, which was Hoonjoong.

Jongho growled as leapt up and pounced  onto  Hoongjoong. Jongho leaned forward sniffing the pirate captain ready to bite. 

" Hay. "

Jongho looked over to see Seonghwa holding his bleeding hand " You want this, don't you," he said, making a more significant cut on his hand. Jongho lept off Hoonjoong on to Seonghwa Jongho did the same thing he did to Hoongjoong to Seonghwa. 

Still, Seonghwa started using his powers, trying to control Jongho. It was his red eyes against Jongho's glowing green eyes. Hoongjoong was at a loss as he watched the whole thing " hyung, what should we do? '' Yeosang asked. "Just leave it to Seonghwa," he said. Seonghwa's eyes glowed even darker as he stared at Jongho. 

Not even a second later, Jongho stated, whimpering as he back off Seonghwa had gotten up, still looking at Jongho " now sleep, " Seonghwa demanded. 

Jongho automatically fell back asleep as he placed back on the bed.

" You know Seonghwa, I think Jongho will be a great addition to the team, " Hongjoong said before laughing. Soon the others joined in.

Hoongjoong would make sure the power Jongho had would not go to waste, and he would be in full control of the boys' power.

Chapter Text

Another day had gone by, and Jongho. Still hadn't fully woken up yet, but Seonghwa made sure to feed him a few droplets of blood every hour. The blood helped out great as Jongho started to fully recover in just a few hours after receiving the blood.

"What is this warmth?"Jongho pondered as he began to awaken. He couldn't understand it, but he had a strange dream where he attacked someone. 

He yawned and sat up, but he was perplexed as he looked around the room. The elderly man would usually leave him tied to a post on the the dock. So why is he in this room? Jongho's thoughts were cut abruptly as the door opened. "Oh my God, you're awake," a voice said.

Jongho looked over and saw a boy at least a few years older than himself. The boy walked closer, and Jongho panicked and hurriedly hid beneath the covers, terrified of what that boy was about to do to him.

Mingi, the boy in question, produced an expression of confusion before exiting the room to find Seonghwa. Jongho carefully removed his head from the blankets as he heard the door close.

" Who in the world was that and where I am " Jongho said; he had gotten lost in his thoughts again but quickly snapped out of it when he heard voices getting closer " I'm telling you hyung he's awake" voice from before said. 

Jongho quickly hid under the covers again as he heard the door open " see what did I tell you, hyung," Mingei said, looking at the human sized lump on the bed. Seonghwa sighed as he walked up to the bed " are you awake" he asked but got no answer " I'm not here to hurt you, so are you awake, Jongho"?. 

Jongho's widen how did they know his name; Jongho slowly lifted up from the covers to see the boy from before, but he was with someone else. This person looked just as frightening as the other " Can you speak" Seonghwa asked Jongho was confused. 

His lips were sown, his eyes widened when he placed his hand to his lips. They were no longer shut, but it didn't even matter. They would just hate his voice like everyone else.  "I'll ask again, can you speak," Seonghwa said Jongho looked up at Seonghwa and shook his head no.

 Soenghwa sighed as closed his eye before opening them again to reveal his glowing red eyes, which surprised Jongho.  " I hate being lied to, but I'll let it slide since you're hungry," Seonghwa said  Jongho shook his head no, but his stomach went against him and started growling. Seonghw smiled. He almost even laughed, " Mingi get him some soup. 

""Okay," the boy now, Jongho knew as Mingei said, leaving the room. "

 My name is Seonghwa, by the way," he said, sitting down on the foot of the bed " I saved you from that low life scum," Seonghwa said. "He's dead, “ Jongho accidentally said out loud. Seonghwa's eyes widen Jongho's voice was so soft, so gentle he smiled " so you can speak," he said. Jongho looks down and says " I can".

 "

Well, your voice is beautiful.”  Jongho looked up in total shock. 

He had always been told he had a terrible voice," where am I'' Jongho asked. "You're on the Atiny," he said Jongho's eyes widened in fear”You’re pirates are gonna”.  Seonghwa held up his hand cutting Jongho off" no, we're not hurt you, especially when the captain's already taken a liking to you, " Seonghwa said.

"You're not the captain "? " No, just the medical doctor, but I'm also a witch," Seonghwa said " a witch," Jongho thought they would also explain the eye color change. " How many of you are there, " he asked Seonghwa. 

"There are seven of us but including you, there are eight," Seonghwa said. Very soon, Mingei came back with a bowl of soup for Jongho. " Well, eat up, I'm pretty sure our captain will want to meet you now that you're up, " Seonghwa said as he left. 

Jongho looked at the food first, unsure if he should eat it. Still, his stomach had said otherwise as it growled even louder making Jongo dig in the food was surprisingly good.  An hour had passed when a very short boy followed by Seonghwa came into the room. For some reason, the boy looked formally like he saw him in a dream that he had.

" Well, I see you really are awake. I'm Hoongjoong, the captain of the Ateez," Hoongjoong said, introducing himself. Hoongjoong took a seat on the bed, " So, Jongho, we don't normally just let anyone stay here," Hongjoong said.

"So what are you gonna do with me then, " Jongho asked in fear which made Hoongjoong smirk " I want you to join my crew” 

“What are you serious.” 

“Very much so . You'll have a place to sleep, protection, and even friends.” Hoongjoong stated simply.  Jongho almost wanted to smile as to him that sounded too good to be true he wouldn't necessarily bring any use to the pirate crew. " In exchange, I want to be in full control of your powers," Hongjoong said. 

" My powers " 

" Yes, we are already feared by many. Even so, with you on the team, I will be the king of the sea, and we'll be so powerful that the entire world will fear us, "Hongjoong said.

When Jongho stared at Hoongjoong, he saw the fire in his eyes again, so this seemed too wonderful to be true.

 He was hesitant since he didn't know what to say or how to feel, which terrified him because if he joined, they may hate him or, worse, toss him back into the water or sell him.

"Or maybe this is a good thing," he reasoned. He'd finally know what it's like to have friends, to be cared for, and to be loved.

Chapter Text

Hoongjoong sighed, growing agitated as he awaited Jongho's response. The boy himself was staring out into space, his hands in his lap. Hoongjoong was tired of waiting and was going to say something after about five minutes had passed.
Jongho lifted his head, glanced at Seonghwa and Hoongjoong, and stated, "I'll join, but only under one condition."

 Hoongjoong and Seonghwa exchanged glances before returning their attention to Jongho. "I'm listening," replied the captain, "well, you said if I Joined, I would get protection, a place to stay, and friends, right" Jongho saidHoonjoong just nodded.

"So I'll join if you and your crew teach me what it's like to be cared for and loved not only that but how to protect myself and no matter what you’ll never hate me ," Jongho said. 

Hoongjoong was so dumbfounded at first of all things Jongho could asked for that he chose that. Hoongjoong wanted to laugh right then and there, but he didn't.

"Alright, it's a deal, or I mean promise we'll take care of you and love you, "Hoongjoong said, smiling. He's glad Jongho agreed peacefully, or he would have used force without hesitation. "Well, get some more rest. You'll meet the others at dinner," Hoongjoong said.

 " Let's go, Hwa. " The captain said as he and the witch had walked out of the room. 

Jongho smiled " finally, no more pain, only love, "Jongho had thought as he laid back down. He took a peaceful nap for the first time in his entire life. 

Hoongjoong came back into the room around dinner time to get Jongho. " Come on, I'll show you around before it's time to eat," he said, smiling, reaching out his hands.

Jongho nodded as he got up, grabbing Hoongjoong’s hand following his lead as they exited the room. Jongho was shocked at how big the ship was when Hoongjoong showed him the deck; he walked over the edge looking at the water. " Do you want to be in the water?" Hoongjoong asked. "No, not right now, " Jongho replied. 

Jongho got a weird feeling as he looked up at the sky. He watched the clouds. " it is gonna thunderstorm later tonight," he said, which surprised Hoongjoong" how do you know" he asked. Jongho pointed at the clouds " I can tell by the clouds," Jongho stated, " oh, okay. "

When  Hoongjoong final finished, it was time for dinner. When they entered the kitchen, Jongho saw the boy from earlier Mingi next to four other boys. 

" Hay cap," one of them said as he and Hoongjoong sat down. Mingi and the other boys were deathly staring at Jongho " boys, stop staring," Seonghaw said as he sat the food down. "Sorry, hyung," they all said before smiling at Jongho.

"Im Yunho"

"San"

"Yeosang"

"Wooyoung" 

The four said, introducing themselves, " andI'mm Mingi, we met earlier," Mingi said smiling. "Um,m hi, I am Jongho," Jongho said, also introducing himself. After that, dinner began as usual.  " Also, everyone Jongho will be joining our crew, "Hoongjoong said. The others simply nodded and clapped him "welcome to the crew, "Wooyoung said, smiling as he looked at Jongho.

Small talk had started as the Ateez crew continued to eat, but that stopped loud thunder sounds as it also began to rain. Hoongjoong smirked " I guess we also found a new weather navigator," the captain said, looking at Jongho, who was confused. 

" What do you mean, hyung?" San also asked in confusion what their captain was talking about " Jongho here predicted it was gonna thunderstorm and just listen," he said as it poured down raining and thunder sounded through the clouds.

"You can predict the weather, " Yunho asked Jungho timidly. "I can tell if it's gonna storm just by the water or wind," he said.

  "nice," Yunho said,

 Jongho smiled. After dinner, the Ateez pirates headed to bed. As Hoongjoong took Jongho to his room, he explained to Jongho that his training will begin tomorrow " Yunho and San will be the ones you train with, so they be to wake you up before the birds fly when the sun hits the water, " Hoongjoong said before leaving.

Jongho sighed as he laid down " I hope I'm making the right choice."

Chapter Text

As promised by the captain, Yunho and San woke up Jongho early. The following day, still exhausted, "Why do we have to wake so early?San complained " Yunho rolled his eyes at San. "These are some clothes. Put on clothes and come over on the roof deck with us." 

Nodding, Jongho saw the two leave his room. With a groan, Jongho quickly put on his clothes in an effort to avoid keeping Yunho and San waiting too long. "I'm sorry I wasn't quick enough," he said as he hurried out of the room. "It's all good," Yunho grinned. "We are not rushing. "

San was too busy drifting off to say anything. "Okay, to start off your training, I wanna see how strong you are," Yunho said. With a nod, Jongho said, "I want you to punch me." "I can't just hit you without reason," Jongho said, giving him an expression of disbelief.

"It's okay, you won't hurt me, promise, " Yunho said, giving Jongho a reassuring smile  "okay," Jongho let out a small sigh before punching Yunho as hard as he could. The second he hit him, Yunho stumbled back a bit " wow, nice one, now punch San," Yunho said. Jongho looked at San, who was snoring away while standing. " But his sleeping would be unfair if I hit him," Jongho said. 

Yunho shook his head "it's okay, Jongho, it's all a part of your training. Just watch, " Yunho said, taking a swing at San.

 Jongho was about to protest until he saw San quickly dong Yunho " nice try," he said now wide away Yunho smirked as he took another swing at San, who dodged his punch again this time San took a swing Yunho he just barely donged it. 

Jongho just watched in amazement " how did he do that? I thought he was asleep " San laughed at Jongho's reaction " San here may look like a lazy bastard, but he is actually one of the best fighters. On this ship, " Yunho explained.

 " I'm gonna take that as a compliment," San said.

After that, the two continued to train Jongho. San had taught him, so combat sneak attack moves while Yunho showed him combat moves with a sword. 

Jongho had groaned when he fell to the ground " you got a lot of work to do if you're gonna be a part of the crew we have tittle l to uphold," Yunho said Jongho sighed.

 " Well, I'm obviously not  cut out to be pirate," Jongho said frowning " Jongho let me tell you something " Yunho said sitting on the ground next to him " No pirate can be a pirate without putting in the work" Jongho had given him a confused look as to what he meant.

" I never planned on being a pirate. I always thought I would be a merchant like my mom and dad, but Hoongjoong convinced me to become one. I thought he was crazy.

 Because back when we were little, he was the biggest scaredy-cat crybaby in the village. Not only was he super weak, so I thought, why in the world would you want to be a pirate."

Yunho smiled, thinking back to that memory " Hoongjoong would go around the village and say he was gonna be the most feared pirate. Everyone laughed at him. I even laughed, but Hoongjoong didn't care what anyone said went for his dream of becoming a pirate despite what the villagers thought. 

And with hard work and determination, he achieved his dream, so when he asked me again, I joined him" 

Jongho nodded as he listened to the story. " So what I'm trying to say is even those who may think they're weak and aren't cut out to be a pirate can be one as long as they have hard work and determination and a crew to back them up" Jongho smiled, feeling a little bit better.

" Well, let's get back to training," Yunho said as he stood up Jongho sighed but nodded. And for the rest of the morning, they continued with the training.

Chapter Text

Jongho has been with the ateez pirates for quite some time now.

Jongho was now practicing his sword alone, and he had no idea someone was observing him. "Huh, I'm never going to get this," he murmured loudly. 

Jongho was surprised when he heard someone say, "Oh, poor baby." He looked around till he found Yeosang standing there. "When did you get here?" he questioned. Yeosang responded with the same grin, "I've been watching the entire time."

Jongho gave him a look of confusion " hmm that's weird I didn't smell you"he said " I have smell"? Jongo nodded "yup you all have a distinct smell I didn't  really pick up on until a few days ago ".

“ Okay so what do we sell like then “?

“Well Yunho smells like vanilla. Wooyiung smells like coffee, San smells like flowers, Mingi smells like baby powder, Seonghwa smells like strawberries and death, Hoongjoong smells like spicy cinnaminion  and you smell like  honey sugar“ Jongho explained.

 Yeosang simply nodded before letting out a small chuckle “ that’s interesting to say the least”.  “ Yeosang can ask you something “ ? 

“Yes, ask away” he started. Jongho was insecure if he asked but he was curious “ you don't really seem like the pirate type. So what made you join “ Yeosang smirked.

 “ I let an idiot talk me into joining “  Jongho turned his head in confusion not understanding what he meant by that

 “ can you explain further please” ? Yeosang smiled as he nodded.  

“ It was three years ago”

“Land finally “ Wooyoung said as the Ateez pirates had arrived at the next island “ well guys you free for next few hours please stay out of trouble “ Hoongjoong the captain of pirates said. “ Especially you Wooyoung “ he threatened the gunner rolled his eyes before taking out “ Wooyoung “,

“Just let him be” Yunho said as he and Mingi stepped of the ship Hoongjoong sighed “ I hope for a just one piece full day “ 

“ Man, do these people have no money? '' Wooyoung said as he looked through the wallets he had pickpocketed. He had been on the island for the past hour or two and all he had done was pickpocket form people so far.

"Hay you going the show tonight"

"Yeah wouldn't miss it do think he's going try to escape" 

"Who  knows"

" I wonder what they're talking about, " Wooyoung thought to himself as he listened to the strangers' conversation. That's until he saw a sign come and see  Curcios on ve tre " hmm sounds interesting " he said as he followed the sighed that led to the circus tent.

" Ladies and Gentlemen please take you seat the show will begin shortly "

When Wooyoung heard the announcement, the curtains began to unravel and reveal a man in a hat, and everyone began to applaud when they saw him. 

"Thank you all for attending today, ladies and gentlemen. Please take a seat, relax, and enjoy the entertainment that we have prepared for you ""Says the ringmaster.".

True to ring master words the show was amazing Wooyooung couldn't get enough of the performance they were outstanding to say the list " alright now that was at the end let's bring out the final act" the ringmaster said as the curtains closed only for a split second though. 

Once the curtains opened again it revealed the ringmaster, a woman and another guy and boy who looked around the same age as Wooyoung. "What in the world" he thought as he looked at the boy in the cage, Wooyoung frowned. The boy looked sad and uncomfortable. " How can they do that to him?''

"Let's welcome the cat boy Yeosang" 

Everyone clapped expect Wooyoung he watched as they opened and the cat boy or Yeosang had walked out " now sit cat boy" the ringmaster said but Yeosang ignored him " I said sit '' he said again but Yeosang did nothing but stand there until the women grabbed a whip and hit Yeosang causing him to gasp in pain and fall to the ground. The crowd could help but laugh '' sorry he's little hot headed" 

Wooyoung watched as the women hit Yeosang with the whip again. She would continue to hit him every time the ringmaster told him a command and he wouldn't do it. 

" Now Yeosang when I throw the apple catch " the ringmaster said Yeosang, surprisingly nodded " wow what a good boy". The ringmaster smiled  as he tossed the apple up into the air.

Now everyone was expecting Yeosang to jump up and catch the apple but instead he lunged forward and began to attack the ringmaster. Noone had time to react as Yeosang hopped onto the ringmaster then bit into his face. He also used his claws to scratch out his eyes. The crowd screamed in panic quickly running out of there but Wooyoung continued to watch. 

The woman had hit Yeonsang. he winced in pain before turning around to attack her neck. Wooyoung gasped as he watched the women's guts spilled all over the stage. After attacking the women Yeosang tried to make a run but his escape attempt was  as the man and followed by a few others all pulled out a taser gun.

Yeosang fell to the ground after being shocked. All the guys had picked him and carried him away. Without them knowing Wooyoung followed them into the backroom. 

He could hear yelling as followed the men who were carrying Yeosang. He followed them until they reached a room, that's when he stopped. " Dammit, '' he said as he went back to the front.

Wooyoung was gonna head back to the ship but something told him not to leave Yeosang and to help. So he began to sneak around looking to see if anything would help him in breaking Yeosang out.

 happened to be on his side as he walked around the ship he found Yeosang in the cage he was in before he attacked those people. Wooyoung was shocked to see the state he was in. Yeosang was covered head to toe in bruises from being beaten. He was still in the clothes from earlier.

Wooyoung slowly walked up to the cage "who's there" he heard Yeosang say watching the boy look around. Wooyoung did not respond as he walked up to the cage coming face to face with Yeosang " who are you ? And what do you want"? Yeosang said coldly Wooyoung smiled " hi im Wooyoung crew member of the Ateez pirate".

Yeosang gave Wooyoung a questionable look " hmm this guy looks like an idiot" he thought to himself. "That still doesn't explain why you're here''? ``I'm here to help you  escape," Yeosang raised an eyebrow. " Why in the world would you do that ! you don't even know".

Wooyoung hummed in agreement " I don't need to know a person to tell of their sadness and loneliness' ' Yeosang was taken aback by what Wooyoung said' ' you don't know anything just leave me alone" he yelled before turning around. Wooyoung smiled and he could tell Yeosang was lying. Wooyoung shook his head before directing his attention to the large lock.

Normally he would just shoot the lock with his gun but because they were surrounded by a lot of people he decided to just pick." Good thing I was a thief before becoming a pirate" Wooyoung thought as picked the lock to the cage which only took him three minutes to do. The lock dropped to the ground. Woyoung opened the cage door which startled Yeosang who quickly turned around.

"Well you free know" Yeosang quickly  rushed out the cage, pancing onto Wooyoung who didn't even have time to get out of the way. Wooyoung watched as Yeosang eyes changed color as began to growl showing his sharp teeth `` what's game plan here on letting me out huh gonna have you pirate friends gang up on me" Wooyoung shook his head " first off thank you would be lovely second no I told you I wanted to help you out thirdly get the hell off me " 

Yeosang was still suspicious as got off the Wooyoung `` hmm thank you I guess" he said help Wooyoung up " you welcome so what are gonna do no' ' ? " I have no clue but I'm gonna get away from this place as far as I can. '' Yeosng said, ``Do you wanna join my pirate crew? All I have to do is talk to my captain.

"Thanks but no thanks"

Wooyoung watch Yeosang transform into a cat before running off " oh well I guess" he said he started to held back when he heard a ringing sound " must be  hoongjoong" he thought as he pulled out his communicator. He didn't answer it and continued to walk back to the ship " youngie" he heard Yunho one he arrived back at dock.

"Where have you been"?

Wooyoung smiled thinking of Yeosang " Nowhere in particular".

Two Months Later 

The Ateez pirates were currently in the middle of a battle after being attacked by another pirate ship. Lucky though the Ateez were winning.  pirates “If you gonna attack someone always put up a good fight" Wooyoung said as he shot three more pirates. The battle was coming to an end . Wooyoung sighed as took out the last guy or so he thought. 

He didn't noticed one of the enemy patties  sneaking up on him " Wooyoung look out"  Yunho yelled Wooyoung was confused as he final turned around he " shit " he the pirate lunged forward not giving Wooyoung enough time to move  making him think you was a goner but he watched as the pirated fall to the ground and black and gray cat walking off the pilates back " what the hell " Hoongjoong said.

As he, Mingi, and Yunho rushed over to Wooyoung " where the hell did this cat come from" Mingi said " I don't know " Wooyoung answered he was just as shocked as they were. " What, you forgot me already" ? `` Did that cat just speak?" Mingi said before fainting, "Honestly" the cat said before it transformed, Wooyoung 's expression changed from shock to happiness " Yousaf where in the world did you come from"?

"Well after you save me I didn't leave I hide waiting for to leave then followed you back to you ship and have been for the past two months" Yeosang explained Wooyoung nodded " i'm so happy to see you "; " not trying to break up this lovely reunion or anything but can someone explain what's going here" Yunho said. Wooyoung nodded as began to explain everything.

" Oh okay well I'm Hoongjoong "

"Im Yunho the one on floor is Mingi"

Yeosang smiled " I'm Yeosang "

"So are you gonna join the crew " Wooyoung asked " only if the captain l let's " Yeosang said Hoongjoong hummed thinking for a second " hmm normally I wouldn't  just let anyone join but since you save Wooyoung welcome to the Ateez pirates '' he said smiling. Yeosang smiled happily " well know that i'm a part of the team captain just an fyi make sure your door is locked when you want to flex your muscle in front of the mirror" Yeosang said. 

Wooyoung and Yunho busted out in laughter Hyun Joong's eyes widened " I don't know what you were talking about '' he yelled as Yunho and Wooyoung continued to laugh.

END OF FLASHBACK

"And that's how I joined " Yeosang said Jongho was amazed by his story " wow that an amazing story but was Hoongjoong reeling flexing his muscle" Yeosang laughed but nodded at the question" he still does it now" 

"Oh Seonghwa don't I look manly at these guns' ' Yeosang said imitating the captain.

"I DO NOT DO THAT"

Hoongjoong yelled, causing Jongho and Yeosang to laugh.

Chapter Text

It was another day for the Ateez pirates as they sailed the illusion  everyone was currently all attending to their own duties. As for Jongho when he wasn't training he spent most of his day looking out at the 

Jongho wasn't gonna  lie to himself, he really did miss the sea a lot. It's been almost three years since Jongho has been in the water. There were days when Jongho wanted to jump into the water and swim faraway.

“Do you wanna go back” 

Jongho jumped from being startled by Hoongjoong “ sorry didn't mean scary you “ the caption saud Jongho smiled as he turned to face him. “ Its okay” 

“ do you wanna go back “?

Jongho sighed looking back at the sea “ I dont know its been so long since i've been in the water but honestly i'm fine here where I am right now.Jongho said. 

Hoonjoong smiled at Jogho and answered “ well if you feel the need for a swing, by all means go for it. Jongho nodded ''

“CAPTAIN SHIP ATTACKING FROM SOUTH”  Yunho yelled.

Hoongjoong smirked “well Jongho it's your lucky day to see what we were like in action find somewhere to hide dont let see you”  Jongho nodded before running off to hide. “Alright men let's show this wannabe pirates why shouldn't mess us” 

It didn't take long for attacking pirates to board the ship “ well..well if it isn't the supposed king of the pirates KIm Hoongjoong '' the pirate captain said. Hoongjoong smiled sadistically “ Cap don't you just love it when  wash up  pieces trash come one to our ship “ San said 

Ateez watched happily as all their faces turned to anger “ attack” the pirate captain yelled and just like that the fight began. Jongho who was hiding watched in amazement how the crew fought “wow their amazing” Jongho said. 

He continued to watch in amazement at how they fought. He hadn't even noticed someone walking up  behind him.  “Well what do we have here” Jongho slowly turned around only to be met with a punch to the face.

Jongho stumbled back but luckily was able to catch his balance and dodged the next punch. Very soon they began to fight or more like the other pirate attack Jongho while he best blocked the attacks. “Come on and fight me you weakling”  the other pirate said.

Jongho wanted to fight but he knew there was no way he would win and he was no match for him. 

“Just because an opponent is stronger doesn't mean anything as long as you return the hit ten times harder ,” San’s voice said in Jongho's mind. Jongho's eyes lit up “ if i'm gonna be a member of this crew i'm gonna have to fight '' he thought. 

Jongho nodded as took a swing at opponent , landing a hit. That only seemed to anger the other pirate more as he started to use his full force. Jongho could only keep attacking back but so he started to lose the fight. 

Jongho groaned in pain as he threw into the wall “ hmm you not bad kid but I give you wanna of my honorary deaths”  the pirate said as cut hand and proceeded to whip the blood across Jongho face but what the pirate didn't know was that would be his biggest mistake.

The second the pirate blood touched Jongho’s lip demeanor  completely changed. The pirate was confused as to why Jongho began to gowl “ the hell” he said, raising his sword to Jongho. 

Fear took over the pirate's body as he watched his normal skin now showed black shiny scales. His eyes turn from brown to green eyes along with showing sharp teeth. 

Jongho wasted no time pouncing on the pirate taking a big bite at shoulder. The pirate screamed, hitting Jongho doing best to get him off but Jongho was now much stronger than before. 

The pirate screams gain the attention of not only his cream but they ateez pirates. They all watched as the pirate wailed and screamed as Jongho to another bite of the pirate shoulder. 

Because the pirate was paying attention to where he was going he ended up going overboard with Jongho still on him. All the pirates rushed over to look at the ocean as it turned  a dark red color. 

Hoongjoong laughed in excitement as he  was truly amazed “ what the hell was that “ the other pirate captain yelled. Hoongjoong looked at the pirate captain as if he was the devil himself and smirked

 “ our secret weapon”

I recently got engaged. So these past few months have been hectic, but.

Hello everyone I know its been awhile since I posted and for that I am sorry. 

I recently started a new job so my sleep and time schedule has been kind of everywhere to the point I havent had time to write and I thought I was pregnant ( Another can of warns for later) 

But I promise I am doing to my best to get out news chapters
