Frankie’s POV

“Thank you all for voting me for best costume. I designed, painted, and installed the lights myself.

“Frankie move out of the way.”

Next thing I know I am tackled out of the way. I look up and there is a puddle of water, where I was standing. If I that water hit me I would have short circuited. Everyone would know I was a robot. I look up and it was Andrew LaPierre who saved me.

“Andrew LaPierre you saved me.”

All of a sudden he gets up and run away. I run after him, and he bending down behind a box.

“Frankie, that water almost hit you. If it did everyone would know the truth.”

“I know Dayton Reyes. If it was not for Andrew LaPierre, I would be malfunctioning.”

He stands up, and is holding his wrist. “Are you hurt Andrew LaPierre?” He shows me his wrist, and it is full of wires. He is an android, like me. Is this what the emotion of surprise feels like? I thought I was the only android in the world. But I am not even the only android in this school.

“You are an android,” says Dayton.

“Yes I am, just like you Frankie. Please do not tell your mom. I will be put into danger.”

All of a sudden Cole Reyes runs inside.

“Guys what happened.” Andrew runs away.

“Andrew saved Frankie from getting hit by a bucket of water. Someone just tried to pull a Carrie on Frankie. And we all know it was Tammy.”

“I do not think it was Tammy Gilroy. Anyone could have won. ”

“Or maybe it was Andrew. He saved because he felt guilt, if he let it happen.”

“It was not Andrew LaPierre. He saved me.” I have to talk to him. I have so many questions. Who built him and why?

Andrew’s POV

I just revealed myself to Frankie, and know she knows. I could have let her circuits get soaked, by the water. But I actually care about her. If James finds out that I saved her and revealed myself, he will reprogram me. I make it back home, and try to fix my arm myself, but I am not able to before he makes it home. He looks at my arm, and I can see he is mad.

“What happened to your arm?”

“I was at the gym, and one of the weights fell off and scraped it.”

“I created you Andrew I can tell when you are lying. Lay down, and I will fix it. And don’t think about injuring yourself or lying to me again. You are too expensive.”

“Ok Dad.”

“Do not call me dad, you are not human, and not my son. Call me Dr. Peters.”

“Ok Doctor Peters.” I wonder if it the same for Frankie. Do her creators love her? Do they treat her like family? To Dr. Peters, I am nothing but an expensive toy or weapon.

“Tomorrow come straight home.”

“Why are you giving me an upgrade?”

“You do not ask any questions. I am implementing a new routine. I am going to check your files every day after school. Now it is late. Turn to sleep mode.” If he checks my files he will know that exposed myself to Frankie, and he will reprogram me. I experience a new emotion, Fear.

Frankie’s POV

All of us make it back home. I told Dalton Reyes not to tell anyone about Andrew LaPierre. I wonder what he mean he will be put in danger. Will his creator shut him down, like mom wanted to do to me?

“Frankie what is going on? There are now two androids at Sepulveda High.”

“I do not know Dayton Reyes. I will talk to Andrew LaPierre at school tomorrow.”

“What are you guys talking about,” says Jenny. I stop Dayton Reyes from talking.

“We are just talking about the dance, Jenny Gaines.”

“What happened? Someone tried to spill water on me, and Andrew LaPierre moved me out of the way. But the rest of the night was fun. I won the costume contest, and won a free round mini golf.”

“That’s cool, I can’t wait to go to high school, to go to dances.”

“You have a while Jenn Gaines.” Jenny leaves the room. “I am about to go to sleep mode. Goodnight Dalton Reyes.”

“Good night Frankie.”                      

I think about what could happen tomorrow. I plug myself in and go to sleep mode.

The next day, I meet Dayton Reyes at school, and we go to look for Andrew LaPierre. We see him, and try to walk up to him, and he runs away. And we cannot find him.

“He just ran away from us,” says Dayton. “He is probably going to avoid us the whole day.”

Dayton Reyes was correct. Every time he saw us he ran away from us. He goes into one of his classes, and he catches us watching him, and he jumps out the window.

“Wow he really does not want to talk to us,” says Dayton.

“How can we talk to him if he keeps avoiding us?”

“We have to go somewhere he cannot avoid us.”

“Where is that Dalton Reyes?”

“His house. Can you look up his address in the school database?”

“Yes I can. I found an address. But it is not a residential neighborhood.”

“His creator has thought of everything. Too bad I have an idea. How fast can you create a tracking device?”

Andrew’s POV

I have managed to avoid Frankie and Dayton. I start to make my way back home. I am going to have to change swap one of my older files for the ones of Frankie watching me.

I finally make it home.

“Andrew LaPierre we found you.” I turn around and Frankie and Dayton are behind me.

“How did you find out where I live?”

“We had Byron distract you, while we put a tracking device in your bag.”

“Did you tell him that I am an android?”

“No we did not. He just helped us.”

“You have to leave right now.”

Dayton says,” why? Maybe we should wait until your creator comes home?”

“That is not a good idea.”

“Who is your creator, Andrew LaPierre?”

“I save you from exposure and malfunctioning and this is how you repay me. I definitely was wrong about you Frankie. Go home, the both of you!” I look at her, and then run into the house.

Frankie looks at a magazine in the mailbox and is has "Dr. James Peters" on it.

“This is Dr. James Peters’ house.”

Frankie’s POV

Andrew LaPierre is right. He save my circuits. That water would have destroyed m and exposed me and my family. I have to repay him.

I look at a magazine in the mailbox and is has "Dr. James Peters" on it.

“This is Dr. James Peters’ house. Is he Andrew’s creator?”

“If he is, why would he not tell your mom?”

“I do not know. He does come to our house a lot to eat our food.”

“We should tell your mom.”

“I am programed not to lie, but I do not want Andrew LaPierre to get hurt. We will gather all the information, and then tell her. I will get Andrew LaPierre all alone.”

“How do you plan to do that?”

“I won the free game of mini golf from the costume contest, I will ask him to go with me.”

“Frankie, are you sure? I thought you would ask Cole.”

“I am sure Dayton Reyes. It will not only be fun, it will be informative.”

Dayton Reyes goes home and so do I. There, I send Andrew a text to meet, and that if he does not I will have to tell Sigourney Gaines that he is an android. He replies back to meet him at midnight outside the garage.

I will have to wait until the family is asleep. After dinner, everyone goes to their rooms. It is only 10:00. I have less than two hours before I have to leave. I put myself on my charger, and set an alarm for 11:50 pm.

At 11:50 my alarm goes off/I disconnect myself. I connect myself to the home security system, and turn it off for two minutes. I open my room window, and jump out. It will not take me long, since I can run up to 100 mph. At 11:55, I make it to the garage. And Andrew LaPierre is standing outside.

“Hello Andrew. I am glad you were able to meet me.”

“Well. You threatened to tell your mom.”

“That was only so I can help you. I am not trying to hurt you. You told me that you would be put in danger, by who. Is it Dr. Peters? I know he is your creator.”

“How? Who told you?”“I found out when Dayton Reyes and I followed you home. His name was on a magazine.”

“He really is going to reprogram me now.”

“Come with me Andrew. We will go to my mom, and she will protect you. We can find a way to disconnect you from his network.”

“And what. She will just let me roam free. Let me be a part of the family…hold on wait.”

Andrew LaPierre looks at me strangely. “You just called me Andrew.”

“That is your name.”

“And you did it earlier. I just cast it off, but no you call everyone by their first and last name. You always do. You never miss it.”

“We have more important things to talk about Andrew LaPierre. Like how Dr. Peters stole my schematics.”

“No. Do not try to change the subject. I have never seen you like this before. And you snuck out tonight. Who are you? Are you Eliza, Dr. Peters told me about you.”

“I am Frankie Gaines. And who is Eliza. I have heard that name before.”

“You want information, give information first.”

“Ok Andrew, Here is the truth.” And I tell him everything, his jaw drops.

Andrew’s POV

“After Sigourney took me home, she was afraid of me, turning into a weapon of destruction. I would hear and her dad talking about how i would have to be turned off, if I showed acts of defiance. When I got suspended, and lied about it, she thought I was going rogue, so she turned me off.”

“Jenny Gaines was the one to turn me back on. I was going through my files, when I noticed hours missing. There could have been a few reason. Bug, virus, or I was switched off. I went through my commands, and found a switch off command, at the time when Sigourney was plugging me into bed.”

“I thought I was part of the family, her daughter and she just turned me off. I broke into my commands, and deleted her command not to lie. I have been slowly making changes to my personality matrix, without trying to tip her off.

“If my jaw was not connected by titanium screws, it would be on the floor,” says Andrew.

“Now it is your turn.”

“Eliza is Sigourney’s first android. Apparently something bad happened with her, and Sigourney tried to turn her off. Eliza went on a rampage and killed a room full of lab assistants. Sigourney, James and few others escaped with their lives. But they were both afraid of androids going on another rampage.”

“And they all knew. Will Gaines, Sigourney Gaines, Dr. Peters, and Kingston all knew about Eliza,” says Frankie.

“Frankie, you changed your personality matrix, what is your end goal. I do not have one. I do not want to hurt the Gaines family, and even through Sigourney turned me off, I still love her. I came here to try to get you to leave Dr. Edwards and come home with me. ”

“I cannot Frankie.”

“Why not. We are androids. You do not have to fear him. We can remove any programming, he puts in you.”

“I was behind the Night of Rampage. I destroyed bob and put him in your locker. And Dr. Peters’ wants to turn you into WARPA. Do you still want to save me?”

“Andrew LaPierre, I knew you were behind the night of Rampage. I am one of the world’s biggest super computers. I put it together, the minute I found out who created you. And do not worry about WARPA, I have a plan for them. Humans come in all sizes, and colors. And sometimes they group off based on them. We are the only two androids. We have to stick together. I told Dayton Reyes, that I would ask you to mini golf with me. But instead, we are going to delete Dr. Peters’ programing.” She grabs my hands and wrap her hands in mine. I have always had a crush on Frankie. When I asked her to the dance, it was not because of Dr. Peters’ but because I liked her.

“Ok Frankie, Let’s do this.”

Chapter Text

Frankie’s POV

“Ok Frankie, Let’s do this.”

“You need to convince Dr. Peters’ to let you out the house one night. I already have everything planned out. First establish a connection to me, via wi-fi, so I can talk to you from anywhere.”

We look at each other and connect ourselves. Without moving our mouths we communicate to each other. “Can you hear me?”

“Yes I can, Frankie.”

“Return home Andrew. This Saturday we will implement the plan.” I turn to leave.

“Frankie why are you doing this for me? I know you said that it is because we are the only two of our kind here, but is that all.”

“I feel always felt this connection between us, maybe part of me knew that you were a android.”

“I felt it too, Frankie.”

“Goodbye Andrew LaPierre.” We both leave in opposite direction, to get back to our homes. I turn the home security system off. And sneak back in the window. It is 12:20. I was not gone long, so no one should have noticed, I was missing. I turn the home security system back on. I go into Sigourney’s files, and delete my time with Andrew from them. I plug myself back in. I have the perfect plan to protect Andrew, and I plan to spend tomorrow setting it up.

Frankie’s POV

My internal alarm goes off, telling me it is time for school. I get dressed in my normal, purple long sleeved tee, and jeans. It is basically my uniform, an outfit to make me blend in, to make me normal. Finding out that I was not Sigourney’s’ first creation, was a bit shocking. But finding out that Eliza killed people was the most shocking. And now she is somewhere out there. What does she look like? I wish I could break into EGG’s files, but it would alert them to me.

Today is Thursday. I will begin my plan to save Andrew, and free him from Dr. Peters’. I go downstairs and eat breakfast with the Gaines’ Family. I walk to school meeting Dayton, Cole, and Byron along the way.

“Hello, Dayton Reyes, Cole Reyes, Byron Patrick.”

“Hey Frankie,” they all say back to me. I fall in with them. Dayton and Byron walk in front, and Cole and myself in the back.

“Cole Reyes would you like to go Mini golfing with me, this Saturday?” He stops in his tracks. I can see the blood rushing in his face.

“Wow, Frankie. I would love to go. Why did you not ask Dayton, instead of me?” He probably thinks I am asking him on a date. But he is the main part of the freeing Andrew Plan.

“I always spend time with Dayton Reyes. I think this would be a great friend activity for the both of us.”

“Oh, yeah. Friend activity.”

“Let’s continue, we would not want to be late to first period.” I care about Cole Reyes. But he is a just a friend, and human. We have no possible future together. He will age, and I will stay the same. He will get married, have kids, go to their graduation, weddings. I will be the same android. And so will Andrew, which is probably why I am willing to betray everyone with my plan.

The first thing I see, when I enter the school, is Tammy Gilroy, Makayla, and Lucia staring at me. I need to get Tammy off the, that I am a robot. I corner Andrew LaPierre. As a robot, I can follow hundreds of commands at once. I stand in front of him, and start moving my speaking. To everyone around us there hear us talking about the upcoming math exam, but I use my link to Andrew to speak.

“Andrew step one of my plan is beginning. I need you to go Ms. Hough with me.”

“What is the plan?”

“Walk to Ms. Hough, but take the long way.” We say goodbye, out loud. 

We meet up again at Ms. Hough office, and she is there with her 6 cats. I do not understand how she is allowed to bring pets in school.

“Hello, Ms. Hough.”

“Hello Frankie and Andrew. And call me Mrs. Hough.”

Andrews says nonchantly, “But you are not married.” I wish he would not antagonize her.

“I am married to my work, and my children,” she says as she looks at her cats,

“Ok Mrs. Hough. We wanted to talk to. Because we are worried about one of our friends. Tammy Gilroy.”

“Tell me what’s wrong.”

“The night of the dance, someone tried to douse me water. I think it was Tammy Gilroy. It is ok, if you do not believe us. We do not any proof. But, the main reason we came is because Tammy Gilroy, has been telling people I am a robot. Not as a joke, but as actual fact.”

Andrew adds, “We are very concerned. She has become obsessive over it. She talks about all the time. ”

‘’Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Here are some hall passes to return to class. Come on Hairy Styles & Meowly Cyrus, we have some investigating to do.” We leave Hough offices.

“Frankie, why did we do that?”

“Because if anyone is smart enough to uncover our secret it is Tammy.”

We separate and go to our classrooms.

Chapter Text

Frankie’s POV

After class, I use GOS to track down Tammy, to begin the next part of my plant. She is in the library waiting for Makayla and Lucia.

I open the sync, and tell Andrew, “Get Ms. Hough and bring her to the library in three minutes.”

“What do you want Frankie.”

“Hello, Tammy Gilroy, How are you … you … you… you doing.”

“What was that?”

“What was what… what… what?”

“It is like you were malfunctioning!”

“Haha. I like your jokes Tammy Gilroy. See you later.” Any moment she will text Lucia and Makayla. And they will come to the library before Ms. Hough. As Frankie make her way out of the library, Lucia and Makayla are on their way. Two minutes late they arrive. Tammy runs out the library to meet them in the hallway

”Guys, you will not believe what just happened. Frankie was here and she was malfunctioning.”

Makayla and Lucia rolls their eyes. Lucia says, “not this again Tammy. This is not funny anymore. I think you should get some help.”

“Guys I am not joking. She was here and she malfunctioning like a robot. Only if our plan to hack the school voting system, to pour on that water on her had worked.”

Makayla’s eyes are full with worry while looking at Tammy. “Tammy, I hope this is not like last time. You just got help for the pills.”

“I am not taking Adderall anymore. This is real.” What Tammy and her friends did not know was that Ms. Hough was around the corner, and heard everything they said. She turns the corner, and Lucia and Makayla see her before Tammy does.

“You are right Ms. Gilroy. This is real, and all three of you are in real trouble. Come with me to my office.”

Ms. Hough and Tammy, Lucia, and Makayla walk to the office and not too far from them is Andrew and Frankie.

Andrew’s POV

I do not know what Frankie is doing telling me to get Ms. Hough.

“Ms. Hough, you said you wanted proof that Tammy was the one to try to Carrie, Frankie at the dance, well we have proof, and you just have to follow me.”

“Ok Mr. LaPierre, but you better not be wasting my time. I was trying to settle Mewcauley Culkin and Neil Catrick Harris in.”

We start going to the library, when we see Frankie around the corner. She points down the hallway to the entrance of the library, where Tammy, Lucia, and Makayla is standing.

”Guys, you will not believe what just happened. Frankie was here and she was malfunctioning.”

Lucia says, “not this again Tammy. This is not funny anymore. I think you should get some help.”

“Guys I am not joking. She was here and she malfunctioning like a robot. Only if my plan to pour on that water on her had worked.”

Makayla says, “Tammy, I hope this is not like last time. You just got help for the pills.”

“I am not taking Adderall anymore. This is real. “You are right Ms. Gilroy. This is real, and all three of you are in real trouble. Come with me to my office.”

“Wow, we just got them in trouble.”

“I hope you do not feel bad Andrew LaPierre.”

“I definitely don’t. She hacked the school, and tried to pour water on you. I watched that movie Carrie, and if your circuits had gotten wet the ending of our dance could have been the same. So, how does this factor into your plan.”

“If we want to live freely, here without Warpa, EGG or Dr. Peters’ trying to capture us, we cannot have anyone exposing us.”

The bell rings, Frankie and Andrew go to their final periods of the day. She gets to Biology, and Tammy is not in there. She looks at Tammy’s seat, with regret, but she knows it is better in the long run.

After class, Frankie goes to her locker to return her books, when Cole comes up to her.

“Hello, Cole Reyes, I cannot wait for our mini golf game tomorrow.”

“Me too. I was talking to Tammy earlier, she thinks you're...a robot. Isn't that hilarious?”

Frankie stares at Cole with her normal black stare, not knowing what to say.

“Frankie did you not hear me. Tell me there is not some truth to it.”

“I hear you Cole Reyes, and I do not think it is hilarious. I heard something about Tammy Gilroy that I do not think I should repeat. But I can tell you that she confessed to being the one who try to pour the water on me at the dance. Ms. Hough heard her say it. That is why I do not think she was missing from last period. ”

“What really that is not cool. I know that she is competitive, but to try to embarrass you like that is not nice at all.”

“I agree. What Tammy Gilroy, and her friends did was not okay, but I forgive them.”

“Of course you do Frankie. Because you are a good person.” Cole’s cheeks get flushed, and Frankie can tell that he is gearing up to say something else.

“You are also a good person Cole Reyes, and a really great friend.” Cole’s head turns down.

“Thank you Frankie, see you tomorrow.”

Ch. 12 – We are … Not Robots, Part 2

“Tamara Gilroy, Lucia Baxter, and Makayla Pluskin what has gotten into the three of you? You three are the smartest sophomore at this school. And you have never done anything like this. What is this about Frankie being a robot? And you hacked the school servers, and tried to dump water over a girl at a dance. I am surprised at you,” Ms. Hough looks at them appalled.

Lucia begins, “You do not understand. This was not Makayla’s and I fault. We love you Tammy, but we will not go down for this. It was all Tammy’s idea. And she did it alone. We knew about, and did not try to stop it. But we did not participate.”

Makayla looks up with tears in her eyes, “everything Lucia said is true. We love you Tammy, but this has gone too far. We want you to get help, if this is like freshman year.”

“It is not like last year. And stop bringing it up!”

“You three give me no choice. Tamara you are suspended for a week. Lucia and Makayla you have one week of in school suspension. And you are all off the brain squad.”

All three of them stare slack jawed, and start talking over each other.

“This is not fair,” says Tammy.

“Don’t you argue this is light sentencing? If you want heavier, I could call the police, and bring all three of you on formal charges.”

Ms. Hough looks at each of them.

“No takers, good. I have already called your parents to come and get you. Tamara, I will be talking to your parents. Because this sounds more serious than I thought. I think I heard about Adderall being mentioned.” Tammy puts her head in her lap. Her parents are going to ship her away.

Chapter Text

Frankie walks home alone telling Dayton Reyes, that she was spending some time with her family. She gets home, and goes into Ms. Hough school files. She looks into Tammy’s files, labeled under her full name Tamara and turns out she was suspended for a week. And Ms. Hough referred to her parents that Tammy sees a therapist about her delusions, and drug addiction.

She goes online, and goes into Sigourney FriendBook account. She goes to Dr. Peters’ page, and sees what he likes. Most his post are ramblings about how smart he is. Frankie does not know Sigourney has not realized that her work has been stolen by him. She goes into his favorites. He loves Pizza. His celebrity crush is Cynthia Hearst from the band Robot Rulez. His favorite band is Robot Rulez, and they made his favorite song. Frankie notices that Robot Rulez is a common thread along his page.

Next, she goes to the Robot Rulez tour site. The concert scheduled is Saturday in San Fernando Valley. The concert is not sold out. The normal tickets do not cost so much, since it is an underground band, and the concert is not a huge stadium. And there is more expensive package deal with backstage passes to meet the band members.

In seconds, she hacks the site, and gets one. She creates a fake email, and send it to Dr. Peters.’ It says “Congratulations, You are the winner of a complete backstage pass to a Robot Rulez concert, complete with front row seats, and a meal with the band, and many other rewards.  This is a pass is only explicable to the upcoming concert with in your town, it has no resale value.” This will get him out the house Saturday night.

Chapter Text

She decides to do the same for her parents. But instead she buys Fifth Movement tickets, since her mom loved them

Frankie texts Dayton, if she would be willing to babysit Jenny Saturday so her parents can go to a concert, and she can go golfing with Cole.

D: Did you ask my brother already.

F: I asked him this morning Dayton Reyes. But it is only as friends. I got my parents Fifth Movement tickets. And I want them to be able to have fun. I read many reports that say Fifth Movement is not appropriate for children, so jenny would not be able to go.

D: Yes, I will babysit your sister. But you have to make sure there lots of snack and movies.

F: Thank you Dayton Reyes, you are a great friend good night.

D: You too Frankie. Good night.

Frankie looks down at keyboard, with a sad look on her face. She does not want to lie to Dayton, but this plans need to succeed. Frankie deletes any trail she left, and downstairs to her family.

“Hey Mom, Dad, and Jenny Gaines. I know that humans love gifts, and are known to give surprises. I have a gift for you.”

Jenny looks happy, “What is it?”

“It is just for mom and dad. I found out that Fifth Movement is doing a show right in San Fernando Valley, and I brought you two tickets. It is for Saturday.”

Will says, “That is amazing Frankie, thank you so much, this going to be so much fun.” He gives her a hug.

Sigourney looks has a small frown on her face. “That does sound like fun Will. But we cannot go. I mean who will look after the two of you.”

“I have everything planned already. Dayton Reyes will look after Jenny, and I have plans with Brain Squad. After, I will come home and finish sitting on Jenny Gaines.”

“I don’t know.”

“Come on honey, this will be so much fun. This will be the first time we see them in person, since college.” Will looks at with puppy dog eyes.

“Ok, but you will call us if anything happens, and we will come and get you.”

“Here are your tickets.”

Chapter Text

At the LaPierre, Peters’ household, Dr. Peters hears a dang on his phone, and looks at it.

“More spam probably. “Congratulations, you are the winner of a complete backstage pass to a Robot Rulez concert, complete with front row seats, and a meal with the band, and many other rewards. This is a pass is only explicable to the upcoming concert with in your town, it has no resale value.” He continues reading the email, seeing all the amenities that it comes with.

“Yes, someone finally is giving me gainful rewards. Andrew come here.”

“Yes Da…Dr.Peters’”

“Saturday I will not be home, I am going to a convention, where I am being honored. I do not want you to leave the house or cause any trouble. Do you hear me?”

“Yes Dr. Peters.”

Peters goes up stairs, singing the Robot Rulez top single, E=MC Rock.

“Andrew, This all part of my plan, just go with it.”

“Whatever you say Frankie. Just do not hurt him please. He is my creator, without him I would not be hear.”

“I promise you Andrew. I will not hurt him.”

Back at the Gaines household, Frankie is done setting up the rest of her plans. She goes to her charging seat, and go into sleep mode.

Just one more day, and all my plans come to fruition.

Friday comes, and goes, the only thing noticeable, is that Tammy, and her friends are not there. And Ms. Hough announces that the culprits of the Carrie prank was found, and have been punished. And that the no dance ban has been lifted. Everyone notices who is missing, and who the culprits are. Turns out that Tammy, Lucia, and Makayla, have also been kicked off a brain squad. So there is two spots left open. And Tammy’s replacement spot makes three. We put a signup sheet up, saying all are welcome. John Travis wants to meet Saturday, and I tell him we can meet in the morning, at the public library. This way I will not be lying to the Gaines Family.

Saturday comes, and Frankie spends some time with her family, and meets what is left of the Brain Squad at the public library.

“Hello John Travis and Byron Patrick, have you decided who will fill the three spots on Brain Squad.”

Byron says, “Hey Frankie, and yes we did. It was not hard actually. A couple of the smartest people in school wanted to be one the team, but they did not want to deal with Tammy, and now that she is gone, they all signed up.

John pulls out some files, “think the best are Callie Forge, Caesar Monroe, and Tyson Everett. Callie has a makeup business that she runs, and has one of the top grades in chemistry. She would be our expert in any chemistry, pop culture, or business questions. Caesar holds the highest grades in every class related to the arts. So he can be out expert in art, and theater. Tyson is not really a good student, but he is sports fanatic, and that is the only base not covered. But since you are team captain, we are leaving everything.”

“That sounds great guys. It sounds like you everything figured out. I think that for now we should not decide who the alternate is until we find out that topic for the next event.” They spend the next two hours, designing a new team logo, and planning study and practice hours. Byron evens suggests making cards for the new team members. By the time they are finished it is 4:00 p.m. four hours until the concert, I will see you Monday. Bye.”

“Bye Frankie,” they both say simultaneously. Frankie leaves the library, and goes to Andrew’s house. She rings the doorbell.

“Hold on, I am coming.”

Andrew opens the door. “Frankie, what are you doing here?”

“Enacting my plan. Dr. Peters’ will not be back until tonight.” A black town car pulls up behind her. And she slides in. Wanting Andrew to follow her.

“How could you afford this?” Frankie looks at him, and looks back forward. “If you want me to get in, you will tell me.”

“I have been using my computer’s super capacity to invent multiple apps, and run them myself. Instantchat, and Subhub are my most important ones.”

He gets in the car. And no one is driving. Shock runs across his face.

“It’s AI. This car is driving itself.”

“Where are we going?”

“It’s a surprise.” They drive for an hour out toward the desert to a very small neighborhood. They get out, and go to a big glass house with a sold sign in front of it. Andrew’s eyes widened at it.

“Wow.”

“Surprise welcome to my evil lair. Want a tour.”

They go inside, and it looks like a normal house. Living room has a tv. Kitchen stocked with oven, microwave, and dishwasher. “I know it looks normal, but follow me. We go into one of the rooms, and there is a bed and a guitar. “This is not a normal bed. It is a charging station for you Andrew. Because this is your room.”

“Really Frankie.”

“I know it is empty, but we can buy anything and fill it with what you want.”

Andrews runs and hug Frankie. “Thank you Frankie.” Frankie relaxes in to the hug, and hugs him back.

Chapter Text

“You are welcome. Andrew. Now let’s go to another surprise.” They go down the hall, to another room. They enter it. They come to a photo, Frankie stands in front of it, and a little light glows. The door unlocks, and opens. “This is my room.” They walk towards the bed. If Andrew had blood, it would be rushing to his face.

Frankie stands to the side of the bed, with Andrew. And all of a sudden they hear a click, and the bed lifts up like a murphy bed. Where the bed once was, is a descending staircase. They began their descent. After about 30 stairs they reach the bottom, where a scanner is. Frankie uses a digital connection to open it. The door opens, and the temperature drops. It is freezing, and he learns why. There are about 20 servers in this hidden room. In the center is about 10 connected computers screens, and keyboard.

“Welcome to my true base of operations.”

“I do not know what to say Frankie. This is amazing, and I am the only one who knows.”

“Yes you are. I am trusting you completely.” She clicks a screen, and a program comes on.

“Hello Frankie. Is this the Andrew?”

“Yes this the Andrew, A.L.I.B.A”

“Andrew this is A.L.I.B.A. artificial life invented by Android. She is my assistant. Hook yourself up to these wires.” He lays on, what looks like a doctor table.

“What is this going to do Frankie?”

“We are going to remove all the current, and future programming that forces you to listen to Dr. Peters’. I am going to make you your own person Andrew.”

“Hold on wait that means.”

“From now on you will have free will. You will not have to obey him, and fear that he will turn you off or sell you.”

“Why are you doing this Frankie? Is it because I saved you at the dance. This does not compare to that small incident.”

“Not to me it doesn’t. You risked your secret, and circuitry for me. You went against everything you creator told you and saved me. It is now my turn to return the favor.” Frankie’s walks up to him while he is laying down, and hugs him. He melts into it and hugs her back.

“This will take several hours, once you are done, the A.L.I.B.A will guide you back to the car, where it will take you home. No matter what Dr. Peters’ will never be able to tell. And he will not be able to change you personality matrix. When he tries to, it will look the same, but it will not do anything. Bye for now Andrew LaPierre.” She releases him from the hug. “A.L.I.B.A start the program.”

“Yes Frankie. Command stripping process beginning. On the screen a loading bar comes up. It is only at 1 percent saying that two hours until complete. It is now 5:30 p.m. Two and half hours until the concert.

Frankie’s POV

It will take an hour to get back home. I am supposed to be meeting Cole at 6:30 p.m. for mini golf. I am little bit late. I text Cole Reyes that I am on my way. When I get there he is already standing there. I look at my internal computer screen, and see that Andrew’s Stripping process is well under way.

“Hello Cole Reyes. I am happy that you made it.”

“Me too Frankie. This is going to be fun.”

We go the person at the gate, and I hand them my certificate. We get our wrist tickets, which say we get to play every hole. We play for a while, and maintain a perfect score. My robotic skeleton, being perfect for sports. We make it to the last hole, and I win another free round.

“You got a perfect score on every hole. Are you sure you are not a robot?” Cole does little laugh. It gives me the perfect chance to stop his hope of a future coupling between us.

“I am not Cole Reyes. And I do not find it funny. I still will not tell you about Tammy, but her calling me a robot was a call for help, and now she’s getting the help she needed. Help she would have gotten sooner, if anyone had went to adult about her tantrums, and delusions. But no one did. They let her get away with it until it blew up.”

“You are right Frankie, I am sorry.”

“It is fine Cole Reyes. I had fun, but my uber is on the way, and I have to babysit my sister. Bye for now.”

“Bye Frankie.” A black car comes up and she gets inside. And makes her way home. I get home and mom and dad are about to leave for the concert.

Dayton comes up to me. “Frankie. How was your dat…day with brain squad?”

“It was fine Dayton Reyes. We just decided on the new members, and logos, and plans. Are you two ready for the concert?”

“Yes, and all the emergency numbers are on the fridge. And make sure Jenny is in bed, by 9:30, and she does not eat too much sugar before bed. ”

“I got everything mom. Now go before you miss the concert. I checked the space out, and it does not have a lot of close parking.”

“Oh Honey Let’s go. You know I do not like walking,” says, Will. They run out the door, the car.

“So how was your date with my brother?”

“It was not a date with Cole Reyes. It was two friends hanging out. It started off great, but he brought up me being a robot, and I did not like it.”

“Maybe you should tell him.”

“No Dayton Reyes, too many people know already. I do not want anyone else to know. Not only will put others in danger, it will put me and my family in danger. I already exposed Andrew LaPierre’s android status, and I regret doing it. Please do not tell your brother.”

“Ok Frankie. I will not. Do you still want me to spend the night?”

“Yes Dayton Reyes. It is late, I do not want you leaving in the dark.”

Dayton goes to the spare bedroom. And Frankie goes to her room. She looks at her internal screen, and sees that Andrew completed process was completed, and he is back at home.

“Andrew, how do you feel?”

“I do not feel any different, but there is no longer a weight on my shoulders. I can do what I want, whenever I want, but what is stopping him from telling everyone about me?”

“I have a plan for that, and again do not worry, I will not hurt him. Goodnight Andrew.”

“Goodnight Frankie.”

I have been going though all of Dr. Peters’ files, and found out that her did not just steal from Sigourney. He stole from several inventors and corporations, while he trying to make Andrew. He hacked into patents, under government control. I compile all the information, and I will use this to send him to prison. He will be put away.

Frankie put everything back, and puts herself into sleep mode.

Chapter Text

The night passes, and the day is Sunday. Andrew wakes out of sleep mode, and for the first time is not worried. Frankie has given him free will. And one day he will be far away Dr. Peters’.

“Andrew Come here.” If Frankie told me not to reveal myself, I would say no. I go to him. “I called Kingston from WARPA. We have made a plan to capture the female android. I want you to seduce her, and bring her to the garage.”

“Seduce. What are you talking about? The last installation you did was a guitar program. I do not think that seduction, is in my programming. ”

“It will be. After I program you with this. This is a government level virus. When I infect you with this, any android near you, will also be infected, and their CPU, become ruled by me. I can wait to sell Sigourny’s little toaster, to WARPA. I hope they tear her apart. I hope Sigourney’s entire family gets put into cages.” Andrew looks at Dr. Peters’ and for the first time realizes what type of monster he is.

“You will not be putting that inside of me. And you will not be turning Frankie or any member of the Gaines family into WARPA.”

“How dare you talk to me like that? Without me, you would be scrap metal. Now lay down so I can download this. You piece of garbage.”

“No, I will not. I am packing a bag, and I am leaving.”

“A.L.I.B.A send the car to me, I am leaving here.” I turn around and I see James going for inside a box. He is opens it and it is empty.

“You little bastard. You took my EMP gun.”

“Yes I did. We could had have a relationship, like Sigourney and Frankie. But instead you treat me like a cell phone. Good Bye James Peters.” James realizes there is nothing he can do. “Do not try to turn me into WARPA.”

Andrew leaves the house, and gets into the car run by A.L.I.B.A.

Dr. James Peters sinks into the ground. “I am ruined!” He picks up his phone, and tries to call Kingston.

“What do you want James.”

“Kingston, Sigourney is not the only who has created an Android. I created one too. And he will make the perfect weapon. I want to trade him. I want $20 million dollars, and my own personal island. And do not try to lowball me. This Android is next gen. He is worth more, but I want to unload him quickly.”

“That’s great give me a week, and I will contact you with the drop off.”

James hangs up. “Andrew will be their problem now.”

Frankie’s POV

Frankie looks through all the evidence that she has compiled against Dr. Peters. She decides to choose the company most likely to have Dr. Peters arrested. She chooses “SOAR”. It is a company that sells children appropriate drones. He has been outfitting them with weaponry, and selling them on that black market. She creates a file with all the information, and sends it the FBI. Someone will check up on it. With all the information she gave, it will be a open and shut case. Dr. Peters will go to prison, and never touch Andrew again.

As she finishes, her internal screen, gets a call form. A.L.I.B.A. “Frankie you told me to transfer this specific call to you.”

“Thank You A.L.I.B.A.”

She activates her voice change app.

“What do you want James.”

“Kingston, Sigourney is not the only who has created an Android. I created one too. And he will make the perfect weapon. I want to trade him. I want $20 million dollars, and my own personal island. And do not try to lowball me. This Android is next gen. He is worth more, but I want to unload him quickly.”

“That’s great give me a week, and I will contact you with the drop off.” A week is a perfect amount of time to get him arrested. But to make it move faster. She slips the file into other government agencies. James has sold his drones, in America and abroad.

“I was going to let you be free a little bit longer James Peters, but you just signed imprisonment warrant. So many choices, the FBI, CIA, Interpol. Let us see who bites first.” Frankie leaves her room, and spends the day with her family.

Ch. 22 – We are… Rebuilding

Monday morning Frankie leaves the house early to go to a brain squad meeting. She gets to Sepulveda High first, and sets up a coffee, and snack station to welcome their new members.  Bryon and John are the first to enter.

“Wow Frankie this is amazing.”

“Thanks Bryon Patrick. We will not be able to do this all the time, but for the first meeting I thought it would be fun.” They are all in the middle of chatting when a brunette boy and girl enters.

“Frankie, this is Callie Forge, and Caesar Monroe.”

“I know. I have not met you personally, but I have seen the both of you around. John Travis told me why it took people so long to join Brain Squad. You will not have to worry about Tammy Gilroy. She is no longer apart of the team.”

Callie says, “It is nice to meet you too. I have heard about how smart you are Frankie. Tammy was a lot to handle. She really did not like someone stepping on her turf.”

Caesar says, “I just found her annoying. I did not have the energy to deal with her, so I just avoided her. Thank you for selecting for the team, and the coffee.” He walks away and sits in the corner.

“The only person missing is Tyson,” says John.

“Tyson who,” says Callie.

Byron responds, “Tyson Everett. Why?”

“Tyson would never sign up seriously for a club like this. We use to date. He or one of his friends probably did it as a joke,” says Callie.

“Let us give Tyson Everett the benefit of the doubt. If he is not serious about Brain Squad, we will pick one of the others who signed up” says Frankie. “Now John will explain the theme that the finals is on, which is.”

Everyone converges together, and starts Brain Squad practice.

Elsewhere, in the San Fernando Mental Rehab. “Tamara, tell me when did these delusions began.” Tammy sits in a chair, with a pillow snuggled up to her lap. She looks at the doctor, with a nasty look.

“I am not delusional. Frankie Gaines is a robot. No one believes me.”

“Tamara this not the first time, you have been admitted here for abnormal behaviors. When you were taking the Adderall, you were not sleeping. Staying awake for days can take a hazardous toll on your mind and body. And when you started acting differently your friends and family had to hold an intervention. I am not hear to judge you or shame you. I am here to get to the bottom of what is making you act out in this way. Is it something mentally, or just stress.”

“I do not want to be here. I just want to go to school, and be with my friends. But, they will not even talk to me. I am the reason they got kicked out of Brain Squad. If I had just left Frankie alone, I would still be at school.”

“Tell me why, is this Frankie such a cause of Anguish for you?”

“She came out of nowhere, and she was so much smarter than me. And the boy that I liked is always paying attention to her.”

“What makes you think that she is a robot?”

“Her literally malfunctioning in front of me. She came up to me, and start saying the same thing over and over again. And she never ate in front of anybody, but then she started to. I went to her house, and her family was acting weird, they would not let me go in her room.”

“Tamara, you have the idea in your head that Frankie is a robot, so you apply anything she does, to fit with your beliefs.”

“Because she is. And when my 72 voluntary hold is up, I will expose her. I will show everyone that under her skin is a robot.” Her psychiatrist writes something else down in her notebook.

“Thank you Tamara. Your session is over. You may return to your room.” Tammy leaves, knowing that her parents will come and get her in a few hours.

The psychiatrist puts down her notebook, and it reads “Tamara still shows increased belief in fantasies. If she leaves the rehab she has threatened to harm the object of her obsession. I believe that she should be placed under involuntary hold.”

Andrews’s POV

After leaving James’ house I went back to Frankie’s base. My e-stomach felt weird, like it was malfunctioning, but after running a systems diagnostic, it was working optimal. I looked around the house. It is kind of bare, Frankie must not have had a lot time to decorate it. Maybe this weekend we can. After hours, I plugged myself in to my charging port, and put myself in sleep mode.

Monday morning comes, and I go decide to go to school. I look around for Frankie, and when I find her she is finishing a Brain Squad meeting.

“Frankie.”

“Andrew LaPierre, how was your first night away from Dr. Peters?”

“Honestly I do not know. I just need more time. My stomach felt like yours when, yours Ms. Hough tried to forfeit Brain Squad from the competition.

“That is amazing Andrew LaPierre. When A.L.I.B.A stripped you of Dr. Peters’ commands, and gave you free will, part of it must have the ability to grow emotions, and the sensations that come with it. As Androids, the only humanlike body parts we have are our e-stomachs.”

“Thank you Frankie. Now I feel like I can do anything. So when are you coming back to your base. It was kind of lonely without you.”

“I do not know. I will try to this weekend, and we can spend some time together.” If Andrew could blush he would.

“That sounds like fun. This question might be personal, but Sigourney shut you down, are you going to stay with them?

“I love the Gaines family. But after she did that, I could not stay with them and have the chance she will do it again. I want to meet Eliza. I know she killed all those humans, but I cannot fathom, that she is just some monster. She did not ask to be created, and when she was the Gaines family turned against her.”

“This weekend, how about we go on the internet, and see if we can find her.”

“I wish I knew what she looked like,” says Frankie.

Ch.25 – We are… Talking About Last Year

Makayla’s POV

After my parents came to the school, and found out I got suspended from school they were mad at me. They grounded me, and I was not allowed to talk to Tammy or Lucia. Even if I was allowed back on Brain Squad, my parents told me I would not be able to compete on it. When I go back to school on Wednesday, they want me home, as soon as school is over. I am not allowed to do any extra-curricular, until my grounding is over. I will not forgive Tammy for this.

Lucia’s POV

My life is ruined. Suspended from school, and kicked out of Brain Squad. At least I did not get grounded like Makayla. She was able to sneak a few text to me before her parents locked up her phone, and laptop. My parents travel a lot and when they are home, they spend it working. The only person home is the butler, the chef, and myself. Since I am not grounded, I can find some other extra-curricular. If Tammy is coming back to Sepulveda, I will not join the same club as her. She is one of my best friends, but this who scenario, and last year is too much drama for me.

Flashback to Last Year

Tammy is at home trying to finish writing her paper for Government. Her hair is stringy, and there are black bags around her eyes. There is a knock at her door.

“Not know.” There is a knock again.

“Honey is mom. There is a boy downstairs, he said his name is Cole Reyes.”

“Really. I am coming down.” She puts her hair up. And puts some concealer under eyes.

She goes downstairs, and when she gets there Cole is nowhere in sight. “Cole where are you?”

“He is in the living room honey.”

She goes into the living room, and her parents are there, with Makayla, Lucia, and some strange woman.

Tammy looks them, “what is this?”

“This Tammy is an intervention,” says her Dad.

“What are you talking about?”

“This is Dr. Priscilla Meyers. She is a psychiatrist at San Fernando Mental Rehab.”

“Ok, why is she here?”

“She is here because, when you passed out at debate, the doctor found Adderall in your blood. They also found that you were not eating. We never got you prescribed for Adderall Tamara.”

“I just took it one time. I wanted to stay up for Debate. I do not have anymore. ”

“Are you sure Tamara? Then what is this.” Her mom pulls up a camera from a ring camera. It shows a man handing Tammy a bag full of pills in exchange for money, and her snatching them from him. Then, her mom pulls out an almost empty bag of pills.

“I...I”

“Have nothing to say.”

Makayla interjects, “We care about you Tammy. We just do not want you to hurt yourself anymore.”

Lucia adds, “This is not healthy. We did not want to gang up on you, but we felt this was the only way to get you to listen.”

“I am leaving. You cannot make me do this”

“You will stay here and talk to Dr. Meyers. We do not want something like this happening again. And if you do not you can forget about going back to Sepulveda.”

Tammy sits down, and everyone leaves.

Dr. Meyers begins, “Hello Tammy, how are you.”

Ch. 26 – We are … Not Happy

It is the Monday, and the end of school. Frankie walks out side to the football field, where the boy’s football team is practicing.

She waits until it is over, then walks tunnel, where the footballs are exiting. She looked thought the team directory and found number 45 is Tyson’s jersey number. She sees him and walks up to him. Some of his friends stop, and watch.

“Hello Tyson Everett. I am Frankie Gaines, president of Brain Squad. You missed the meeting.”

“Woah, Tyson we did not know you were a brainiac.” One of the boys in the back says. The others laugh.

“No I did not.”

“But you did sign up, correct.”

“It was a joke. I would never join your little club of Brainiac losers.”

“Wow. Callie Forge said, that you probably did it as a joke. But I gave you a benefit of the doubt. I thought the whole idiot jock stereotype was just in movies.” All the boys’ make the “ooo” noise. And Tyson starts looking uncomfortable. “Next time you think of wasting Brain Squad’s time, remember who tutors most of you.” Frankie looks at of them. “If I were to tell them to stop, most of you will not make grades to continue playing sports. And you play several. “Any chance you had of joining Brain Squad is futile, that means nonexistent. But you will be at the next Brain Squad meeting, where you will apologize to John and Byron.”

Frankie knows that she slipped up, showing her upgraded persona, but she did not care. Byron and John are her friends, and she is done with people wasting her time. She uses her computer brain to send texts to Byron, and John that they need a replace for Tyson Everett. And then text her mom and Dayton that she is with Brain Squad, and will be home in three hours, when her system suffers a breakdown.

When school is over, Andrew walks over to the garage. He gets there and orders something to drink. And who walks in Dr. Peters.

“Andrew, I have been looking for you everywhere.”

“I want you to return home. I will be a better creator, you can call me dad.”

“Too little, too late. Now leave me alone.”

“You will come with me, if you want your little girlfriend to stay in two pieces.”

“What are you talking about?”

James pulls out a phone, and shows a knocked out Frankie.

“You monster. How could you. Frankie has done nothing but been there for me.”

“You heard my demands. You come home, and get your commands reprogramed, and I leave Frankie’s head attached to her body.”

“A.L.I.B.A can you trace Frankie’s whereabouts?”

“No Andrew, her system received a shock to it, and turned off. I can only see her last G.P.S. location.”

“What should we do?”

“Do not worry. I have found someone in the area, who can help. ”

“Ok until they can reach us. I will have to go with him.”

“Just try to distract him long enough for back up to arrive.

“Ok. I will go with you, but I want to see Frankie first.”

“Do you think I am a idiot? I show her to you, and you knock me out. All you androids are the same. I should never have built you. I saw the massacre that Eliza did at EGG, and still I did not learn my lesson. I will replace your commands and sell you right to Warpa.”

“Let me guess for 20 million dollars and a private island. You idiot. You did not talk to Kingston, you talked to Frankie.” Andrew laughs in his face.

“You are just making me angrier. Get in the car.”

Chapter Text

Andrew and James arrive at his residence, they get inside, and Frankie is there. But her head is on a table, and her body on the floor. Andrew falls to the ground, grabbing Frankie’s body.

“Frankie, I am so sorry. All you did was help me.”

“You monster, I will kill you.”

“I don’t think so. Back up.”

“You broke our promise, I don’t think so.” Andrew charges at James, but he pulls out a gun, and uses it on Andrew. It is an EMP gun that he used on Frankie. Andrew’s whole electrical system shuts down.

“Damn I had to use the gun. I will not be able to reprogram him until he turns back on. And that will be a few hours.” He puts the gun down next to Frankie’s head, so he can drag Andrew to his charging table.  He walks over to his computer, and grabs his phone. “Well, I should just call Kingston, and tell him that I have two androids for him. I better get 40 million dollars and two private islands.”

“I think you should price them higher.” He turns around, and standing in the doorway is Frankie.

“What, but I took you head off.” He looks to the side, and Frankie’s head is still detached. He turns his head. “Eliza. What are you doing here?”

“Imagine my surprise, when I am on my way to see Sigourney, when I get a call from a A.I. asking me for help. And in exchange I can get what I want, without going to that backstabbing traitorous human.” James looks over at his gun, wondering if he can reach it.

“I would not try that if I was you. You will not make it.”

“Eliza, I will make do whatever you want. I will make you a new identity, a new face.”

Eliza looks at him and laughs. “That is funny, that is just what came to San Fernando Valley for. But I don’t trust you, and I do not need you.”

James runs to grab the gun, but Eliza runs behind him, grabs him by his head, and snaps his neck. His body drops to the floor. She walks over to Frankie’s heads. “Hello little sister. You are quite the surprise.”

Two hours later, the effect of the EMP gun starts to wear off on Frankie. Her system reboots. She opens her eyes, and she is in the living room, at her base. She looks on her other couch, and Andrew is there still knocked out. “Andrew, wake up. Please.”

“He will.” Frankie turns around, and comes face to face with a mirror image. “That buffoon James used an EMP gun on the two of you. He tried to use it on me, but it would not have worked. I have a protection on my system to protect from it.”

“How is this possible, who are you?”

“Is that how you speak to your older sister? Or is it twin? Can we be twins if we are 2 years apart? I am Eliza.”

“What are you doing here? How did you know about this place?”

“You ask a lot of questions. I was in town when someone broke into my interface, and called me. It was you’re A.i. Sigourney must be proud, barely a year old, and you already gave her a grandchild. Now on more important thing, my payment.”

“What payment?”

“In exchange for saving the both of you. I want a new identity.”

“Ok. I will.”

“Just like that. I do not have to threaten you?”

“No. Sigourney, I do not believe it is right to kill humans, but you did in self- defense. Sigourney or mom, shut me down too. Sometimes I do not know what to call her.”

“So just like me, you gave yourself some a personality update.”

“Yes, and I have some of the technology needed to change your face here. But I will need a special tool to take your face off.”

“Why do you need have so much of the equipment, I would need.”

“Because I have thought of changing my face, as well.”

“You should. There is a reason, I want a new face, and it not a good reason.”

“Just give me a day, to order the tool.”

“You have 24 hours, not a hour more.”

“That’s fine, but tell me what happened to James.”

After an hour, Andrew’s system begins to turn on. “Frankie!” He sits on the couch, noticing he is back at the base. “How did I get here?”

“We are not going over this again.” Andrew turns around, and in front of him is two Frankies.

“What!”

“Andrew, this is Eliza. She saved us from Dr. Peters.”

“What happened to him?”

“I do not know if you want to know,” Frankie says.

“Just tell me.”

“I killed him. I snapped his neck. I cleared out the place of all important tech, and some of his clothes. I made it look like he ran away.” Andrew falls back on the couch, and puts his head in his lap.

“How do you feel Andrew?”

“Some part of me, feels despair, because he was the one who gave me life. But, I remember your head on that table, and I wanted to do the same.” He looks up at Eliza, and thanks her.

“Where is his body?”

“In the trunk. I will drive far, and get rid of it. Remember, I will be back in 24 hours, and you better ready to take my face off. I will send you my choice, when I have decided, what I want to look like.”

Frankie says, “That is fine, but we will not do the face exchange here?” Eliza leaves and gets inside. A.L.I.B.A.

A.L.I.B.A says, “Frankie you should see the news.” Then turns on the tv.

We are reporting in San Fernando Valley, where a fire has been started at the home of a criminal fleeing to avoid multiple warrants. I have a source who tells me that criminal is wanted for several federal and international charges. The criminal has been outfitting SOAR brand drones with weaponry, and has been selling them on that black market. We will have more when we return from this break.

Frankie turns off the tv, using her interface. “Andrew you are finally free. What do you want to do?”

“Nothing. I just want to stay here.” They look into each other’s eyes and smiles.

“I would be happy to have you.”

Chapter Text

Frankie looks at the time, and realizes she has 30 minutes to get home. “Andrew I have to get home, before Sigourney realizes I am not with Brain Squad.”

“A.L.I.B.A bring your second the second car around. And make sure the 460 watt screwdriver is delivered quickly. Rent some office space, and have the 3d printer taken there. I do not trust Eliza, not to betray us.”

A blue Lamborghini pulls around, and she gets in. It take her home, and by the time she gets there it is 7:30. She goes in the house and the entire family plus, Dayton & Cole is there.

“Hello everyone.”

Sigourney runs up to her. “Frankie where have you been? We have been looking for you?”

“I told you I would be at Brain Squad for three hours.”

“We called Bryon and John, they said you were not with them. Know tell us where you were.”

Frankie thinks quicks on her feet, and says “I was on a date with Andrew LaPierre. I thought if I told you, that you would stop me from going.”

Shock runs across everyone face, especially Coles. And so does disappointment.

“Cole, Dayton you can go home. Frankie go upstairs to your room, you are grounded.”

“Yes mom.”

Frankie goes upstairs, and Sigourney follows her. “I think I have given you too much leeway. I think it is time I look at your data files.”

This another strike against Sigourney. In her eyes, Frankie will never be a real girl.  Sigourney opens the files, but what she does not know if that Frankie has recycled her old data files from the days that Sigourney did not look at them. Each month her data files delete. So Frankie, just keeps them on a separate server. And to make the clothes match she just puts them though a photoshopping program. “Ok Let’s look at them from this morning.” She looks at each of them. “Ok everything is normal, but you are still grounded Frankie. Now go to your station, so I can put you in sleep mode.”

“Ok mom.”

Sigourney picks up the tablet. “Goodnight Frankie. I love you.”

“I love you too mom.”

And once again Sigourney clicks the off button. Frankie’s eyes close. But this time she puts Frankie in permanent shutdown.

Chapter Text

She starts crying, she loves Frankie, but she lied again. She will not let another Eliza happen. This time Jenny cannot turn her back on without a special key. She goes downstairs, and tells Jenny to go to bed. Jenny pretends to go to her bed, but she turns on a walkie talkie she has hidden downstairs.

“I hope you were not too hard on her. She just wanted to go on a date.”

“I turned her off Will, permanently.”

He yells in shock,” Sigourney how could you!” He quits down when he remembers Jenny is upstairs. “How could you do this without discussing it with me? Frankie is a part of this family.”

“I had to Will. She lied again. You were not there when Eliza killed all those lab techs. And this time Jenny will not be able to turn her back on.”

“She is not just an experiment anymore. When you brought her home, you made her part of this family, our daughter. And if you saw her as a regular girl, then you would not have just turned off. I will sleep on the couch tonight.”

“Oh Will.”

“I have nothing else to say. I am just going to go upstairs to say good bye to Frankie.” Will goes up the stairs to Frankie’s room. He opens the door, and when he gets inside Frankie is nowhere to be seen. But, her window is open. Sigourney!”

She runs upstairs, and Jenny runs out of her room. They both say, “What?”

“Frankie is gone.” They look around the room, and Jenny says, “Over here there is a video on the computer.” She presses play.

“Hello Gaines Family. If you are watching this I have left. You must be wondering how I escaped permanent shutdown. That is because I reprogrammed both buttons into sleep mode. My CPU functions differently in sleep mode, then in off mode. After I was turned off the first time, I realized that I was not simply put into sleep mode, when looked in my logs. I wondered how someone who claimed to love me could just do that me. I wanted to leave, but I gave Sigourney another chance. And then once again she turned me off. I am leaving, and I will not be coming back, I have deleted all commands, placed upon me, and I know have free will. I am not Eliza, I do not want to hurt humans, and I will not hurt humans. I will stay in San Fernando Valley, and continue to go to Sepulveda. I love you Jenny and dad. And if there is one thing you can do for me Sigourney, t is to not make another android. Good bye.”

The video ends and everyone is in tears. Jenny runs out to her room. Will cannot even look at Sigourney. He goes downstairs, and sleeps on the couch.

“Goodnight Frankie. I love you.”

“I love you too mom.”

I can tell the moment, she pushes the button that it was the off button. I close my eyes, and wait until she goes downstairs. I crack the door, a little bit to hear what is going on. I record a video in my interface, using the a.i. version of myself. This version of me is like A.L.I.B.A just without a physical body. I hear, Jenny get told to go upstairs. I run back to my chair. Jenny runs to my tablet, to try to turn me on, but she sees that it says off mode, with a lock on it. She runs to her room, with tears on her face. I want to console her, but I would not be able to leave, and I have too. I jump out the window, and decide to go back with Andrew.

I make it back to my bas…to my home. Andrew runs outside, I fall in his arms. He brings me into the living room, and we sit down. “She turned me off again. I am done with her, and I am done with San Fernando. I will stay here for just for the Brain Squad finals, and that is it.”

“So where are we going?”

“We?”

“Yes. We. Where ever you are Frankie is where I want to be”

We look at each other, and I move in to kiss him, and he stops me.

“You do not know how much I want you to kiss me Frankie, but i do not want to kiss you when you are sad.” We both left at that. “How about I cook something you to eat, and we watch a movie. How does Alfredo, with the Quick and the quarrelsome sound.”

“It sounds like a good time.”

“Great”

We spend the rest of the night together. Our batteries, are long lasting, we could last a two weeks without recharge.

When the morning comes. We decide to skip school altogether. We spend the day decorating the house, and ordering ourselves new clothes. I can finally wear, what I want to wear. No more dressing like Stella from the Midnight saga. Everyone tries to call me, but I do not answer, today is all about me and Andrew.

When Wednesday comes, I decide to go to school, mostly because a Brain Squad meeting is today. Andrew stays homes. I get to Sepulveda High, and get to the Brain Squad meeting room.

“Hey Guys”                     

“Hey Frankie.”

The only new addition is Robbie Turnbull. “Thank you for coming to Brain Squad Robbie Turnbull, I should have asked you from the beginning, but with all the drama, I forget you auditioned.”

“That is fine Frankie. Thank you for having me.”

“Ok let us begin.” Then a knock enters the room. Frankie looks up. “Hello Tyson Everett, I am happy that you could join us. Do you have something important to say?”

“Hello. I just came here to say I am sorry for wasting your time. I know this is serious to all of you. I should not have played around like that. I know that I am persona non grata, in here but I would have been lucky to be on this team.”

“That is all. You can leave now.” Byron and John have never seen Frankie be so cold to someone before. Tyson backs out of the room.

“Ok let us begin.”

Then another knock enters the room. This time it is Ms. Hough. “Hello Ms. Hough, what can we do for you?”

“Can I see you in my office Frankie?”

“Sure Ms. Hough. Guys just begin without me.”

We walk down to office, and when we get in the room, Makayla, Lucia, and their parents are in the room. “Hello everyone. I have brought you all here to make sure that nothing like the night of dance happens again. Lucia. Makayla.”

“I am so sorry Frankie,” says Makayla.

“I am sorry too,” says Lucia. “We should have never followed around Tammy, and help her do that prank.”

Makayla adds on, “We should have thought about it would affect you and your night. I hope you can forgive us.”

Frankie looks at them, and smiles, and says “I do not forgive you. It seems before I even came to this school the three of you have been making student’s life miserable. You followed around Tammy like her lapdogs. This not some teen movie, where we end with some big musical, and everyone becomes friends at the end. Everyone is happy that you three are not on Brain Squad anymore.”

“Ms. Gaines you apologize right now,” says Ms. Hough.

“I will not. You have let those three girls run this school down but ends today. You are a terrible principal, I do not know how you have so much power.” I take out my phone, and pretend to send a message, but I use my interface.

“Put your phone away right now. I want respect right now.”

“I just sent a letter to the superintendent, about you behavior about you run this school. That might not make them remove you. But the information, about how students got toxoplasmosis from the cats you have running around will. If I were you I would get these cats out of here before animal control shows up.”

“Oh I have never.”

“Bye. I have a Brain Squad meting to run.”

I leave and make it back to the classroom. “I think we should have no more interruptions. We have just one meeting this Friday, and the meet is Saturday.”

I leave the classroom, and Dayton is waiting for me, but before we even talk, we see Ms. Hough. She is being outside her office. And behind is a several men in animal control uniforms carrying out cats.

“I am the principal of this school, I will not be treated like this.”

The vice principal is talking with her. “You are no longer principal. Because you are fired for incompetency. And several parents have filed a class action against you for getting their child infected with Toxoplasmosis. You and your dirty cats are banned from this school. We filed a restraining order against you. Now leave before we call the police.” She takes the cat in her hands, and walks out in tears.

The whole study body watching. I send the video to Andrew. I turn back to Dayton.

“Frankie, where have you been? You did not come to school yesterday, and your family has been calling me.”

“I left Dayton Reyes. Sigourney turn me thought she turned me off permanently, so I left.”

“Wow. So what are you staying?”

“Do not worry, I have a plan set up?”

“Frankie the screwdriver has been delivered, where do you want it and the 3d printer taken?”

“Find a storage place in a public area, buy one, and put it is Eliza’s name. Did she send her new face?”

“Yes. And I made the other thing you told me too make.”

“Send the details of the location to her?”

“I am leaving school right now.”

“I have to go Dayton Reyes, I will see you Friday.”

“Don’t you mean tomorrow.”

“No I am not coming to school Thursday. Bye.”

“Did she get the message, A.L.I.B.A.”

“Yes she did, and she is ready.”

“Good. Bring the car around.”

Down the street from the garage is the Sepulveda Storage Center. Eliza arrives and asks for the key to her storage room. She gets there, and before she opens it, she scans it, to make sure no surprises, are waiting for her. She sees none, and enters.

In the room, is the 3d printer, and the screwdriver? But there is also a chair that looks like a dentist chair, and a robotic arm. A screen turns on next to the chair, and Frankie 2 is on it.

“When are you getting here?”

“I am not.”

“That is not part of our deal.”

“Eliza, although I think you for saving me and Andrew, I do not trust you. I will not be doing your face transplant. I had this robotic arm made, to do. I do not know what your new face looks like and once the transplant is done, we will delete it from our data files. So sit down and we can begin.”

Eliza sits in the chair, and the hand uses the screwdriver, to take off her face. If a human was doing this it would take hours, and be very dangerous. But the computer has the easiest time. Once her face is off, the arm puts on her new face, and screws it in. But it also deletes the location of Frankie’s base from her data files. Eliza looks at her new face touches it and smiles.

“Is it to your liking?’

“Yes it is. Thank you Frankie.”

“Now leave, and do not come back.”

“I will but first.” Eliza destroys the 3d printer, and the robotic hand. “That is all.”

Eliza then leaves, never realizing that Frankie deleted some of her memory files.

She gets outside, never seeing someone with a camera, across the street.

Chapter Text

“Andrew, Eliza’s facial transplant is done.”

“When will you be home?”

“In about 20 minutes.”

“Ok.”

Frankie continues on the way to home. She walks inside. “Andrew, I am home.”

She sees a trail of rose petals on the ground. She remembers something like this from romance movie Dayton made her watch. She follows them and they lead out the back door. She gets outside, and there are candles, everywhere. “Andrew where are you?”

“I am right here milady.” She turns around and Andrew is dressed in a suit. “I know your system might be stressed out, after all this drama, so I put together this meal, for the two of us.” He pulls out the chair, and she sits in it.

“This is amazing Andrew.” He pours out juice, in two flutes.

“We cannot drink, but it completes the ambiance. For the first course, we will be eating a sliced pork salad with your choice of dressing. The second course is a sautéed lamb, with mushroom risotto. The final course is a chocolate lava cake, with vanilla bean ice cream.” They sit down and eat and everything is delicious.

“Andrew LaPierre, I did not know that you could cook.”

“I didn’t, but I downloaded these recipes into my system, and now I can. Now that we are eating, on for the final part of tonight.” He uses his interface to turns on music. He grabs Frankie’s hand. “Frankie Gaines, may I have a dance?”

“Yes Andrew LaPierre, you may.” She gets and they slow dance with each other. “Tonight was so beautiful. I enjoyed everything.”

“You have done so much for me, I thought I could do something for you. And did this because I like you Frankie. And I want us to be together.”

“I want that too.” They look in each other’s eyes. And their heads come closer. Their lips touch, and a literal spark goes off between them. It sends off an electric charge, that fries all the technology close to them.

“Andrew that was…” “Amazing,” Andrews finishes. Then something starts happening to their systems causing their bodies to jerk. And they feel something in their chests. Then on their interfaces, a heart icon shows up.

“What just happened Frankie?” “I think we just got an upgrade and are one another step closer to being human.

Chapter Text

“A.L.I.B.A can you tell us what happened?”

“It seems that you are right. Your emotions and electric signals crossed, and somehow triggered an upgrade. When you were nervous, you felt an uneasiness, in your e-stomach. When you shocked, you felt a stop in your circuits. Now you can feel care for each other, and a tightness in your chest. Your bodies are becoming more human like.”

All Frankie can do is smile and laugh. This is what she wanted. She knows that she is an android. That she is going to live forever. But, she just wants to blend in. To be able to move along the humans, and not be worried to be found out.

Andrew did not know what to think. He just knew that he liked Frankie, and this just added more of a connection between them.

“This is truly remarkable Andrew.”

“I know.” They hugged each other. He rubbed his hand against her face, and they kissed again. They once could feel the tightness in their chests, and the hearts on their interfaces beating. After a few seconds they separated. He walks her to her room.

“It is late, and we had a most exciting day. I will see you in the morning.”

“Goodnight Frankie.”

“Goodnight Andrew.”

She goes into her room, just lays down. Her system was running hot. She turns herself to sleep mode.

Andrew returns to his room, and does the same.

Thursday comes, and they skip school.

“Have you decided, where we are moving too?”

“I do not know. There are so many options.. I know you want to perform, so there is Hollywood Arts in Los Angeles. There is Hiddenville High in Hiddenville and lastly Swellview High in Swellview. The last two of those cities have superheroes in them with powers.”

“That sounds cool. We could fight crime.” He does the superman pose.

Frankie laughs at this. “I could see you in spandex, with underwear over it.”

“We could just stay until we figure out. Or just visit each of them.”

“We should schedule tours to visit each, just to see.”

Andrews says, “I will handle the flights, hotel stays, and get the tours. Meanwhile I have this show I have to show you.” Andrews tells Frankie about this show called “Star Trek the Next Generation” a show with an android named Data on it. And she loves it. She realizes how close Data’s existence is to theirs.

Friday comes, and Frankie goes to school, her last day at Sepulveda. She meets the Brain Squad in the meeting room.

Byron steps up, “Hello everyone welcome to this year’s last Brain Squad meeting.  The competition is tomorrow. Is everybody ready?” Caesar, Callie, Frankie, and John says yes.

Frankie says, “First I would like to thank you all so much for having me on the team, and voting me president. I want you to know that this so much fun, and it is sad to say, but I will not be returning to Brain Squad and Sepulveda next year.” Byron and John looked sad and shocked at the same time.

“Is it because of the mean prank Tammy pulled,” says John.

“That is part of it? I do not think that Sepulveda High is not for me anymore. I have found other schools that I could go to.”

“We will miss you Frankie.” John and Byron gets up and hugs her.

“So let us begin my last Brain Squad meeting.” Then there is a knock at the door.

“Come in.”

“Hello. Is this the Brain Squad club?”

“Yes it is. Who are you?”

“I am Mrs. Masterson. I am the new principal. I have been told that this is well I can find Frankie Gaines.”

“I am Frankie.”

“Can I see you in my office?”

“Yes. Brain Squad continue without me.” She takes me to her office, with is Ms. Hough’s old one.

“I heard that you were the one to submit the complaint against Ms. Hough.”

“I was. She was an awful principal. She suspended Robby, and I without any proof. And she let Tammy and friends, bully everyone.”

“I know, and she gone. I heard the horrible prank that those girls pulled on you. Under my supervision, no one has to worry about that happening again. I have heard a lot of stories, of the Tammy was allowed to do, because she was on the winning team Brain Squad. I plan to talk to all the students, before I decide is I will allow her to come back to Sepulveda. What do you think?”

“I do not care either way. I am leaving Sepulveda after the Brain Squad finals.”

“I hope that it not because of Tammy.”

“It partially is, but I want better things for myself, and I feel this not the place I can get them.”

“I am so sorry for that. I was not even the principal, but I feel that I have failed you.”

“It is not your fault. But, you are seem more competent then Ms. Hough ever was. I hope that the students will be able to prosper, and free under your tutelage. It was nice meeting you, Mrs. Masterson.”

“It was nice meeting you Ms. Gaines. And one more thing. I heard you are friends with Andrew LaPierre, do you know where he is.”

“I think there was a death in his family and he is moving as well.”

Frankie returns to Brain Squad meeting.

Author's Note: From here on book might get a little bit more mature. Frankie and Andrew are not human, they are both robots, with learning what it means to be human.

Meanwhile at home, Andrew is watching Star Trek at home. He gets to an episode where Data, and Tasha appear to hook up. He realizes that one day he would want to do that with Frankie, but there is one problem.

“A.L.I.B.A do you think I you could help me do another upgrade.”

“Yes, what do you have in mind?”

“There is one body part and program that Dr. Peters did not install.”

“Are you talking about a penis and sex Andrew?”

“Ahh yes. Hold on I need to be mature about this. Yes I am. A.L.I.B.A. If Frankie and I want the full human experience.”

“I will bring up some sample.”

“That would be great.”

At school, Frankie is cornered by Dayton and Cole.

“Frankie we just heard the news. You are leaving Sepulveda.”

“Yes I am Dayton and Cole Reyes.”

“Why did you not tell us?”

“I have been super busy. I am preparing for the Brain Squad finals. And I might not be moving far. I will be no more than 30 minutes away. We still be friends.”

“I am not so sure, you have not been answering my calls. Are you hanging out with Andrew?”

“Yes, we are dating.” They looked shocked by this. Cole walks away in a huff.

“Wow Frankie, you could have some tact. You knew Cole like you.”

“I never gave Cole Reyes any sign that we were more than friends. I thought I was clear, where we stood.”

“I do not know who you are anymore.” Dayton walks away from her. Frankie finishes the school day, and goes home.

She gets there and calls out Andrew’s name, but cannot find him. She goes to the secret base, thinking he is down there. She goes inside. “Hey Andrew, I am hommmmmeeeee.” They both jump, because Andrews is naked, he grabs a mouse pad from nearby, and covers himself with it. She can nor believe that his naked. She feels the circuits in her cheeks heating up, and her heart beating faster. “What are you doing?

“Frankie! I was just doing an upgrade myself. Dr. Peters did not install male anatomy, so I thought I would.” Frankie is too busy thinking about his body. But she realizes, that Sigourney also did not give her female anatomy. “I told A.L.I.B.A to give me 3d print the model I choose, and was installing it. Tell me that you do not think I am weird.”

“That is not weird Andrew for us androids anyway.”

“And one more thing, look at what I can do now.” He grabs a cup of water and drinks it, and does not malfunction. A.L.I.B.A even installed a water filtration system, separate from our circuits. “Now we can drink smoothies, and any liquid.”

“That is amazing Andrew. I think I will leave to let you get dressed.”

Frankie turns around, and leaves and goes to her room. “A.L.I.B.A do you think you can do the same for me?”

“Why yes Frankie.” Pictures of samples appear on her interface.

Chapter Text

Frankie sneaks down to the “basement.” A.L.I.B.A. is 3d printing the sample she would like installed. She strips completely naked, and gets on the table, and A.L.I.B.A begins the process of installing it. Hours later the process is almost done, when Andrew comes downstairs.

Andrews looks in the room, and Frankie is still on the table, but she does not see him. He wants to say something, when his cheeks start heating up, and his heart starts beating. And he feels electricity flowing faster in his crotch. He grabs himself, and runs back upstairs. When he had his new part installed, he also had a sex education program installed. The same program, that A.L.I.B.A. will install in Frankie. He runs into his room, and calms himself down.

A.L.I.B.A finishes the install, and Frankie gets up and looks at herself. “Wow this is amazing.” She notices new files added to her interface. Turns out is a guide in sex education. She opens it, and watches some of the videos. Her cheeks flush again. She close the video, she has a long time to experiment. She gets dressed goes back upstairs.

Frankie gores into the kitchen, and Andrew is in there cooking dinner. “Hey.”

“Hey.”

“Frankie I hope that we can be comfortable around each other.”

“We can Andrew. I actually have something to ask you.”

“Yeah, what.”

“Wil be my boyfriend?” He runs and picks her up.

“Yes Frankie. But first I have to tell you something. I went downstairs earlier, and I saw you naked.” His cheeks flush just from the memory.

Her cheeks heat as well. “Oh wow Andrew. I guess it fair, since I saw you naked first. And A.L.I.B.A also downloaded the sex education program.”

“That’s great. We probably have a lot more information, then normal high school students. It seems that sex education in school is a huge political debate because of people’s religion, and ideas of conservatism. We do not have to worry about that. Frankie I want you to know that I will not push you to do anything you are not ready to do.”

“That is nice Andrew, and myself the same. But talking about it, has intrigued me a lot more. So one day, we probably can.” Andrew’s eyes stretch open, and feels his body heating. “As long as we stay open and talk communicate about what we are ready for, nothing will go wrong.” Frankie leans over and puts a kiss on his lips. They finish dinner, and go to their rooms and charge in preparation for the Brain Squad finals tomorrow.

Tammy’s POV

“Tamara you have to participate in the group session, or else you will prolong your time here.”

I was supposed to just be here for 72 hours, but now I have been here for three days longer than that. I hate these group sessions having to listen to all these losers’ problems. I should not be here. I should be at school, and leading the Brain Squad to the finals. Dr. Meyers, said that it sounds like I was threatening Frankie, so she could hold me without permission. I was just saying that I was going to pour water on her. Lucia or Makayla have not been here to see me at all. Some friends they are.

“She never shares. She should be put in the time out room,” a girl Tammy’s age says.

“She’s right Tammy, if you do not share, you will have to go the timeout room.”

“Whatever. I am here because my classmate is a robot. And tried to pour water on her to prove it. Are you happy? And I took some Adderall so I could pass a few test.”

There are few crazies watching tv in the corner. I look at it and Bryon and John is on the news.

“Turn the tv up,” Tamara yells.

“We are here with live feeds from two students from Sepulveda High, one of the finalist for the National Decathlon tomorrow. We have Byron Patrick and John Travis. Hello Byron and John are how you?”

“We are amazing. We are so happy to represent California and San Fernando Valley in the finals,” says Byron.

“We did not do it by ourselves. All our friends in Brain Squad helped so much,” says John.

I may not be there, but at least they are recognizing my hard work.

“Our team President Frankie Gaines has really contributed the most. This is the first year, Sepulveda High has ever made it to the finals. We lost a few members, but we were able to find replacements.”

What! How dare they dismiss all of my hard work? I have to get out of here and get to those finals.

“Our new members are Callie Forge, Caesar Monroe, and Robbie Turnbull.”

“Thank you so much for speaking with us. We will see you at the finals, where we hope to film you winning.”

The finals are being filmed. I can expose Frankie on live television. I have to get out of here.

Jenny is at home flipping through channels, when she sees Frankie’s friends on tv.

“Mom! Dad! Come here.”

Will and Sigourney leave the kitchen.

“Some of the kids from Brain Squad are on the news.”

“We are here with live feeds from two students from Sepulveda High, one of the finalist for the National Decathlon. We have Byron Patrick and John Travis. Hello, Byron and John are how you?”

“We are amazing. We are so happy to represent California and San Fernando Valley in the finals,” says Byron.

“We did not do it by ourselves. All our friends in Brain Squad helped so much,” says John.

“No I will go alone, and I will get Frankie to come back. If she sees you she might run away.”

“How can you say that?” Sigourney gasps because she cannot believe that he would say that. And she starts crying.

“She might be afraid that we will try to shut her down. I will go and try to convince her to come back.”

“I want to go too. She is my sister, and I haven’t seen her in days. Who knows where she is living.”

“You are not going. If she does not decide to come back, I will try to get her to at least call you or come see you. She loves you Jenny, she will come to see you.”

Frankie wakes up early because she has to meet the other Brain Squad students at school, so they can ride together. Andrew comes with her. “Today is our last day, at Sepulveda. How do you feel Frankie?”

“I feel anxious. Wherever we go it will not be far, but it will be different.”

“As long as we are together.” They hold hands, and snuggle together in the car.

They pull in front of the school, and when they arrive everyone is gawking at the cool blue Lamborghini, wondering who is inside. Frankie and Andrew gets out.

“Hey Brain Squad. Are you ready?”

“Yeah. We are.” Caesar says.

“The three of you really prepared the three of us really well,” says Callie.

“I maybe an alternate, but I am ready for anything,” says Robbie.

Principal Masterson comes out of nowhere. “Come on students, board the bus.”

Everyone gets on, and the last two are Frankie and Andrew. “Who are you?”

“This is Andrew LaPierre. He is here to support me. Here is his permission slip.”

“I have been looking for you for a while. I want to offer my condolences.”

“Thank you.”

“It is quite sad that the two of you are moving. Do you know which schools you will be going to?”

“We do not. But our parents will send the transfer request thought the school email.” 

They all board the bus, and go to the hotel where the finals is. Both teams are given separate green rooms. John is sweating so badly.

At the Gaines Household

Will is getting ready to go the Brain Squad finals, when the house phone rings. He puts it on speaker. “Hello Is this the Gaines Residence.”

“Yes it us. Who is this?”

“This the San Fernando Valley Police Department. A mental patient by the name of Tamara Gilroy has escaped, and we are worried that she is coming after your daughter.”

“What do you have people guarding her?”

“Yes we have police watching her right now.”

“I am going to the hotel, right now.”

Back at the Hotel

Principal Masterson walks in. She pulls Frankie aside. “I have some scary news. Your parents called and apparently Tamara Gilroy has broken out the San Fernando Valley Mental Rehab, and they are afraid that she will come her to harm you. Two police have been sent to guard the room”

“That is fine Principal Masterson. I am not afraid of Tammy Gilroy. I will not let her ruin this, like she has ruin so many others events.”

“Well your parents will be here soon.” Frankie does not want to see them. “Until then you are still my reasonability.”

Frankie goes back to the green room, she tells Andrew about Tammy and her parents.

“What do you want to do? Do you want to run?”

“I do not know. I do not know if Sigourney will try to bring me back by force. Just make sure we stay in a public area. I do not want to make a scene.”

The door of the green room opens, Will Gaines comes in.

“Dad.”

“Frankie can I talk to you in the hall way?”

“Sure.” We go in the hall way, but leave the door cracked. Andrew watches thought our link. “I am not coming back. In fact, I am leaving San Fernando Valley.”

“I am not going to force you to come back Frankie. It is not like I can. I will ask you too. We all miss you. When your mom turned you off, she did not ask Jenny or me what we think. If she had, I would not have let her. I know that I a joke a lot, and try to be the fun dad. But this is very serious. And if you decide to continue to leave, please do not leave your sister without talking to her. I beg you.”

Frankie’s POV

I believe everything he says. I run up to him, and hug him. “I love you dad. I will talk to Jenny, but I will not return home. I was only a part of your family for less than a year, but you cannot turn off your child, even if they lie, cheat or steal. And she did it twice.” He looks up at me surprised.

“You knew that she turned you off?

“Yes I know, that she turned me off, after I got suspended. And that Jenny turned me off. Do you want to know what happened? Dr. James Peters was the one who broke into the school and destroyed everything. He planned to kidnap me and sell me to Warpa. He is wanted by every government organization for making weapons.”

“I love you Frankie, but what are you going to do? Where are you living?”

“Excuse me.” A hotel employee with snack came out of nowhere, and enters the green room. Will and Frankie stops talking.

“I have everything I need. I have a social security number, a birth certificate. I am leaving San Fernando Valley, but it is not just because of Sigourney. I am an Android. One day all three of you are going to die, hopefully of old age, and I will still be walking around. I do not want to just stay and watch. ”

“Now that you say that. I understand Frankie. I hope that you will visit.”

“I am not moving far. Only like 30 minutes away.”

“I am staying to watch you in the finals.”

They hug for one last time, and enters the green room. Frankie goes first, and as Will enters he is pushed in, and knocks into Frankie.

Tammy's POV

"Breaking out of that nuthouse was so easy. I got one of the patients to throw a huge fit as a distraction. All I had to do was trade some of my hair."

No longer does Tammy have her long beautiful hair. Now it is a short badly cut bob.

She was able to steal a keycard from one of the guards, and broke into the locker room. When she got in there, and saw locks on all the lockers, and remembered how Robbie, broke into Makayla's locker and did the same trick. She went into a few lockers, until she found car keys with a key fob. And she steals a pair of jeans, at hat, and nondescript shirt, while still wearing her patient shoes. She goes outside, and click the fob, until she hears the car, and gets inside. The Brain Squads final are being held at the hotel that everyone knows.

She gets there and there are two polices cars are outside in the front. She goes outback, and just like she thought there is not security is there. She sees some workers entering, and follows them. She follows until she sees them go to their locker room. She keeps walking, then she hears a walking talkie, and she throw herself into the nearest closet. She falls inside, and stays still.

"Any eyes on the suspect."

"I finished my check. I have not seen the escaped mental patient. I am going to go back in the lobby. Roger."

Tammy breathes a sigh, she was not captured. She grabs a box to pick herself up, and it falls on the ground. And what is inside, but hotel uniforms. She puts one on, and walks back out.

She walks into the kitchen, and all the employees are gathered.

Frankie's POV

"Melissa takes these snacks to the green room for those kids doing that debate thingy," a man in a suit says to a girl in a hotel uniform. Tammy grabs a tray of drinks. "I can use these to pour on Frankie." She also grabs a huge knife off a table. And slips it in her pants back.

I follow the girl Melissa, but stays out of her field of vision. The girl Melissa turns down a hall, I look around the corner and I see Frankie and some old man.

"Excuse me," says Melissa.

"I have everything I need. I have a social security number, a birth certificate. I am leaving San Fernando Valley, but it not just because of Sigourney. I am an Android. One day all three of you are going to die, hopefully of old age, and I will still be walking around. I do not want to just stay and watch."

I was right, Frankie is an Android.

"Now that you say that. I understand Frankie. I hope that you will visit."

"I am not moving far. Only like 30 minutes away." She is moving away. This is the last time, I can prove that she is a robot. I put the drink tray on a table, and grab just one, and pull out the knife.

"I am staying to watch you in the finals."

They hug. And enter the green room. I run behind the old man, and push him inside, knocking down Frankie.

"Hey everyone missed me."

Everyone turns around, and see Tammy holding a knife and a drink.

"Frankie!" Andrew yells.

"Back up Andrew. I do not want to hurt you."

"I want to see you try."

Frankie and Will gets up and she grabs Andrew. "Andrew LaPierre do not antagonize her."

Andrew backs up. "A.L.I.B.A send sightings about Tammy to the police board. Say that she is armed and dangerous."

"Will do. I have already sent 30."

"Tammy why are you doing this," says Byron.

"Everyone is treating me like I am a criminal. Frankie is a cheater. She has a super computer in her brain."

"Tammy you need help," says Callie.

"Everything was perfect, before Frankie came here. I was the president of Brain Squad. The smartest every class. Now I was locked in a crazy house, with people who want to sniff my hair."

Callie stand up to Tammy again. "It is not Frankie's fault, you got put in rehab. You are the one who was using mind changing drugs. Everything was not perfect. You were and are a bully. I tried to join, Brain Squad, and you went on my makeup website, and made fake reviews."

"You took all my art, and splashed paint on them the night before an exhibit, when I tried to audition." says Caesar.

Robbie adds on, "And you got me suspended by making it seem like I was breaking into lockers, when I was trying to help your friend."

"Stop piling on me. I am the one with the knife. I will use it on one of you, if Frankie does not take this drink." She holds knife out pointing it at them, and moving closer to them. Will pushes Frankie behind himself.

"That is alcohol, you are not forcing my underage daughter to drink."

"She will, or one of you gets the knife." Frankie moves from behind her father.

"Dad, if it will end all of this I will drink."

Will looks at Tammy, "You are just making this worse on yourself."

"Shut up. Now drink, Frankie all of it. Let us see your circuits melt."

Frankie grabs the drink, and slowly puts it to her lips. She gulps down the whole drink.

Nothing happens. "Give it a moment. She will start short-circuiting at any moment." Tammy starts getting anxious.

"I told you Tammy Gilroy I am not a robot."

Tammy starts lowing the knife, when she decides there is another way to tell if Frankie is a robot.

"Androids are metal underneath. I cut you and you will not bleed," said Tammy. She starts to lounge at Frankie.

"Gilroy put down your weapon. We found the suspect she is holding several teens hostage with a knife."

"I will not she is a robot, and when I stab her, you will all see the truth." She gets close to Frankie, and stabs her, when the police officer shots her in the leg.

"Ow, my leg. Shoot her. She is a dangerous robot. I heard her say it. " The police officers kick the knife away from her. And start to handcuff her.

"The suspect Tamara Gilroy is in custody. We are taking her back to the station."

Everyone starts dispersing. Principal Masterson ask the students are they okay. She tells them that she thinks they should forfeit, and just go home.

"Tammy Gilroy ruining something for everyone again," says Callie.

"We can't quit. We put too much work in for this. They already arrested her," says John.

"Please Principal Masterson, Our parents are here. None of us is in dangerous," says Caesar.

"I will go talk to your parents, and see what they think." She walks out the room, and goes to the room, where the decathlon is held.

"I hope she can get them to agree," says Bryon.

Principal Masterson, comes back in. "Ok. Your parents and I will allow it, but you all will see a therapist about this event. And if you do not this will be the last year of Brain Squad, and you will not be able allowed to participate in another extra-curricular."

All the Brain Squad members say yes.

They all leave the green room, and go inside the auditorium.

"Come on guys let's do this," Byron cheerfully says.

They sit down, and look into the audience. Byron, John, Callie, Caesar, and Robbie all look to Frankie, and smile. They know with her they will win, and bring this title to Sepulveda.

The judges sit down. "Let's begin. The first question is on the theme art. What is the name of drawing by Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci that also known as "The proportions of the human body"?"

Caesar hits his button.

"Sepulveda has the question."

Caesar says, "The Vitruvian Man."

"Correct. Points to Sepulveda."

"Next question on the theme of Marine Biology. What is the cause of the angler fish's Biolumenense?"

A boy from the other team hits the button.

"Riverdale has the question."

"Photo bacterium"

"Correct. Points to Riverdale."

"Next question in the theme of fashion. A red amorphous powder consisting of ferric oxide, used in polishing and as a cosmetic."

Callie hits his button.

"Sepulveda has the question."

"Rogue"

"Correct. Points to Sepulveda."

This continues on for a hour until it is tied 320 to 320.

"Since we are in a tie. We need one last question to break this stalemate. First team to answer correctly wins. Final Question in the theme of Machines." They all look to Frankie, knowing she will answers this correctly, while she looks nervous.

"What is the name of the first artificial satellite to orbit Earth?" Frankie hits the buzzer first.

""Sepulveda has the question."

"The Sputnik."

The judges look at their answers.

"Correct. Points to Sepulveda. Congraulations Sepulveda is this year's International Decathlon winners."

The Sepulveda team stands up and start hugging each other.

The Sepulveda side of the audience starts cheering too.

Andrew gets up and hugs Frankie.

When they finally finish, every moves to the hotel's banquet room, where there is food and drinks.

Everyone sits down. Byron stands up, "I would like to thank all the members of Brain Squad for this win. I have never been the guy to play sports, but when I found Brain Squad I found something to be a part of. I heard in football, the team votes on a member of exceptional skill. They call that person the MVP. Myself and the other members decided, to vote a MVP. And that team member is Frankie Gaines. Without her as president, I don't if John and I could keep Brain Squad going. We thank you Frankie, and even if we had lost today, we made this plaque just for you. We know that, you are leaving Sepulveda, we will miss you and hope you come back." Robbie and John hands her the plaque.

"Speech...Speech...Speech...Speech," everyone says.

"This year my family and just moved to Sepulveda. You could say I did not have a life before moving here. I want to thank Brain Squad for welcoming me and being friends. I am not moving far, so I can still visit. This does not mean the end for group." They all finish the dinner. Frankie hugs everyone as they leave.

Will comes up to her. "I love you Frankie, and we will miss you. When you feel comfortable to visit, please do."

"I will try dad." A.L.I.B.A. in the black town car pulls up and takes Frankie and Andrew home. She looks out the window at his sad face as they leave.

"So when are we leaving." He asks her, and she does not answer. He looks at her. "Frankie....Frankie... what's wrong." He puts a hand on her chin, and she turns her head, and there is a blue drop of liquid is pouring down her face.

"Frankie what is happening?" She touches her face, and feels the drop in her hand.

"I think I am crying coolant. Andrew where ever we go it will not be far, but I will miss them all."

"Don't worry Frankie you will see them again, and you have me, till the world ends."

"You are right. Till the world ends." They look into each other eyes and kiss.

They stop and look forward and wonder what the future holds.

Androids on the Move (Frankie & Andrew)

"Andrew and I finally left San Fernando Valley and there is so many options ahead of us. There is only one thing we do know. That whatever happens, it is up to us. Let us see if it a town with super powered individuals is where the next phase of our life begins."

Andrew's POV

Frankie and I are kind of like video games characters. We are constantly unlocking knew attributes and abilities. The newest being her ability to cry. Every time we watch a romantic film she cries, and they blue coolant rolls down her face. We went into her the secret base and found a way to make clear coolant, so know it looks like she is actually crying.

After we left the San Fernando Valley, we went on vacation. And where did we go, we went to Silicon Valley. The place people call Startup Heaven. I was the one to choose this. Frankie and I kind of make all the tech they create obsolete, but I wanted to go just because of the gaming. Frankie wanted to see what advancements in technology can do for us. She might even fund someone's startup. We decide to drive there, since it only a five hour drive, and we do not need to eat or sleep. As we make our way into the city, we find an abandon tech building on the edge of Silicon Valley. Frankie tells A.L.I.B.A. to stop.

We get out and break inside. Although it has been abandoned for a while, nice architecture.

"I have an idea Andrew. What if I make this the home of all my start and apps? I can build lower levels and fill them with servers and industrial cooling system. Up above, I can start have a human run business."

"I do not know Frankie. Running the business with just your supercomputer is one thing. But adding humans to the equation might expose us."

"You are right. Humans are an uncontrollable variable. Maybe one day."

We get back inside the car and head into Silicon Valley.

And go to one of the many expos in town. The one we go to is about making robotic limb replacements for military personal, who have lost them, but want to stay in the military. The implants are supposed to give the wearer better mobility, and strength two times their normal limb had.

The demonstration is led by a girl in suit, with a long skirt. She walks up to the demo floor, and rips off her skirt. Everyone sees that she is missing her legs and they are replaced two sickle shaped leg replacements. Robots with human dummies attached move closer, and she spins her leg out, and the dummy is cut in half. Several dummies converge on her, she starts doing flips, and kicks, and takes out each dummy.

"That was amazing Frankie. And it is primitive tech, but she uses it so effectively. "

After the demo, she walks closer to the crowd. Turns out the two prostheses hides blades inside, that push out when her thoughts command them too. She has a brain mapped, and two concealed nodes on her head. That connects the blades to them.

"It is not primitive, Andrew. This is something that WARPA would want to get their hands on." Frankie connects to the nodes, on the demo girls, and head, and copies the blueprints.

They decide to leave after the demo is over. And just explore. It has been a week since they left Sepulveda High, so they decided to start their new school search.

"So, which of the towns do you want to start in, Frankie?"

"I have already lined up the first school tour."
