Chapter Text

General worldbuilding
- Though bigotry is still very common omegas are viewed very differently in hell than they are in earth, considering the ruler of hell king Lucifer himself is an omega this is not very surprising, any respectable demon of standing knows omegas are just as capable (read dangerous) as any other demon.

Of course there are exceptions to that rule like the Vs, though velvet remains indifferent (as long as they can work well in fashion or online she doesn’t care) Valentino is known to talk down on and use stereotypes about omegas to exploit them and make them easier to control. Though his views are purely social and he knows just how dangerous anyone can be. His main use is making sure his omegas don’t know that. Vox also doesn’t actually believe any of the stereotypes he spews but purely uses them as a cheap pass at alastor. Possibly the second most powerful demon in hell.

Most actual believing bigots are all bark and no bite, they use their bigotry to make them feel more powerful but will quickly shut up when faced with an omega stronger than them. It’s a hard lesson to learn for newly fallen sinners and has lead to many cocky demons not even making it a year after underestimating an omega overlord. This being said it is more common to see alpha overlords than omega but this is purely because due to the bigotry on earth there are more alphas than omegas in hell. However as of late the numbers are evening out…

Chapter Text

- Angel dust- if there was any doubt that omegas could be both sexual and violent angel crushes them. Though angels films often portray him as the perfect omegan stereotype anyone who’s met him in real life knows that is not the case. Timid and submissive are the last words used to describe him, he is overtly sexual, has a short fuse, and at times is manic. Though he wants connection outside of Cherri and his boss he’s scared of non sexual affection and his nest stays bare of any scent other than cherris. After he moved to the hotel he took time to assure his nest and room was scrubbed clean of Valentino’s scent and while he tries his best cherris scented cloths can only do so much in the face of someone he spends every day with. When he does start to let people in he is very scared of asking for scented things. Cherri and him share clothes and he’s never had to ask for anything from Val. Because of this inexperience angel resorts to being sneaky. Stealing from husk and Pentious’s laundry, taking nifftys cleaning cloths, and going as far as to take things directly from Charlie’s room when she’s gone. It took quite long for the residents to notice this trend since he would always return what he had stolen after it lost the owners scent

Chapter Text

- Charlie- an optimistic and excitable alpha of royal standings. She recognizes the biological power that being an alpha gives her and aims to never use it. However her standing as a royal makes her scent oh so much more powerful and potent as it does for anyone in power. Despite this her scent is not oppressive and can even provide a calming effect usually only seen in mates. She is aware of angel stealing her clothes and is elated that angel feels close enough to her and vaggie to want there scents in his nest. She purposefully leaves out scented items for whenever angel comes around and against vaggies wishes is determined to wait until angel comes to them for scented items to stop him. She fears that if she confronts him to early he will regress in his progress and isolate himself again.

Chapter Text

- Vaggie- a headstrong alpha who is absolutely enamored with the princess of hell. Is much more affected by the stereotypes of the human world and believe the duty of protecting the hotel and its residents lays purely on her shoulders. Her fear of failed in this regard has kept her hyper-vigilant and especially protective of the residents of the hotel. It was her idea for Charlie to put scented items around the hotel for angel and she was very confused when he continued coming into their room to steal. It was only until Charlie recommend she also leave something scented by her that the stealing stopped. This surprised her since she and angel had never quite seen eye to eye.

- alastor- not only the second most powerful demon but the second most powerful omega in all of pride! Though bigotry was quite rampant during his time alive he never became ashamed of his status as an omega and had a very special way of dealing with anyone who tried to make him. Though he may not be ashamed of his behavior as an omega he is ashamed of his want for connection and (platonic non-sexual) relationship with other demons. Due to this he deprives himself of those aspects of his instincts.

- Sir pentious- a beta with a talent for inventions. Desperately wanted to become one of the Vs and believes that his sex is the reason it didn’t happen. Betas are mostly disregarded in hell. Most overlord are alphas and omegas and betas are for the most part seen as out of the loop, non threats. This is not much different than earth. While betas are important members of packs they are much less instinctual than alphas and omegas and a lot more out of the loop in most important non vocal mannerisms and social signals in modern society. In reality this has nothing to do with why he’s been rejected.

- niffty- an manic beta with a knack for cleaning and killing bugs. Believes very deeply in stereotypes from her romance novels and fanfiction but only in fiction and excludes anyone she actually knows from her beliefs (for the most part). While this can be troublesome to the residents it is also a good thing because it gives her the means to understand why she can’t wash their scents off and sterilize everything in the hotel. The only scent in Alastor’s nest as she cleans his room. Sometimes she brings husks things in his room influenced by her books. While not for the reason she put it there for alastor does appreciate the gesture and though he gives huskers things back to him sometimes the scent remains to remind him of the closest thing he’s even had to a pack in the afterlife.

Chapter Text

- husk- a grumpy alpha with a vice for drinking. He doesn’t know that angels stealing his clothes but he does know that he wants other peoples scents in his nest. Sometimes he’ll give scented items from him and niffty to fat nuggets so he’ll bring them to angels room. Husk knows how to read people and he’ll use his scent accordingly. No bigotry towards omegas, he would know best not to underestimate them being owned by one and all. He’s seen the consequences of demons underestimate alastor first hand. Puts up a mask of indifference but cares very deeply about the residents of the hotel (If anyone asks he’ll blame it on instincts).

Chapter Text

Heats & ruts

- Against the norm for his profession Angel gets time off from work for heats. when he’s in heat in a place he feels unsafe he becomes aggressive, scared, and downright feral. when Val first tried to put him in a porn during it he ripped a guys throat out. After his other attempts went the same val realized that faking heats for porn is much easier and keeps more limbs attached. The hotel staff at first expected to have to chain him to a bed to keep him from jumping the other residents during heat. They didn’t expect an equally challenging terrified feral omega. (Though when angel finally does become more comfortable in the hotel they realize their initial assumption weren’t far off)

- due to his asexuality alastors heat presents itself in a much different way. Instead of wanting others sexual he wants them platonically. He becomes very clingy and wants nothing more than to cuddle up against someone he cares about. Atleast he would if he didn’t completely isolate himself during these periods of perceived weakness. He locks himself in his room for the week and cuts off all contact until afterwords. Later in his pack relationship he starts spending it with packmates. They cherish this time since it’s the only way they get to directly cuddle him

- Husk didn’t have ruts for a while due to his excess drinking but ones he started drinking less at the hotel they came back strong. He will never forget having to awkwardly ask Charlie for time off while she shrieked in excitement when she realized he’s been drinking less. Other than a decreased stamina due to drinking he doesn’t have any irregularities in his ruts. He just shuts himself in his room for a week. Later in there relationship when he and angel start to share he curses himself for drinking so much because it makes it harder for him to keep up. At least at first,

- Charlie&vaggie have been together long enough that there ruts sinked up. They spend them together leaving alastor in charge of the hotel for a week. Nothing really more to say about it

Nests

- angels nest is absolutely full of blankets pillows, stuffed animals, and ofc scented things from his pack mates. angels full private nest is more of a web. It’s stung high in the top section of his room with a closed off space full of blankets and pillows. He finds comfort it the fact that only he and anyone he chooses to bring up there can access it. He has made a tiny nest on the floor so fat nuggets can enjoy as well but he keeps all his scented items in the big nest. Though it’s not common anymore the hotel comes from a time where it was common for hotels and living areas to have one off rooms for an omega to make their nest in other than the bed when secondary sexes where less talked about and hidden away. This is the room angel uses. It fits quite well because despite his insistence that his body is the absolute best angel is quite insecure about his more arachnid features, his feet and abdomen specifically(I know it’s not canon but I love the redesigns where they give him a little Spider but). While his web scared others (husk) at first most pack members have gotten used to it as just one of the aspects of angel that make him angel. He didn’t even realize at first when he started making a pack nest in the parlor. In this au the parlor and most buildings are build for omegaverse pack dynamics. There’s a conversation lit in the middle of most common rooms for nests. Charlie recommend using it to boost moral in the hotel and angel decided to make it more comfortable for his friends. (Just for movie night really, it has nothing to do with a pack). He even made a separate corner for alastor so he wouldn’t have to touch them.

- alastors nest is kept up in his radio tower. It’s void of any scent but his and occasionally niffty and husk. He’s very precise with his nest making. Not a blanked can be out of place. It’s not the most typical nest, filled with oddities and stained with the blood of his most recent food. When angel invites him to a corner of the pack nest he’s apprehensive, to scared of getting close to his newfound roommates. But after a while he figures it won’t hurt. So he brings down one of his heavy blankets and starts organizing.

Pack dynamic
- Charlie - non dominant pack alpha, very into the caring part of her alpha role but not the taking charge part, can be very dominant though. she doesn’t act like it but everyone knows she’s in charge and when angry or protecting her pack her status becomes deafeningly clear.

- Vaggie - under Charlie but still very in charge. People always assume she’s the pack alpha because she always takes charge

- Angel dust - pack omega, pisses everyone off and definitely does not keep the peace but hates when someone else makes them angry

- Alastor - takes more of an dominant role than Charlie. Didn’t actually join the pack for a long time because of his fear of getting too close. Takes advantage of Charlie’s meekness to do whatever he wants despite her being more powerful than him. Secretly loves his pack

- Sir pentious - beta, tries to do mediation and fails horribly. Always takes Charlie’s side in any arguments even when she’s wrong. Spreads out in the nest and his eggs take up so much space they eventually just got them a dog bed so they’d be out of everyone’s way.

- Niffty -beta, pops up at the most tense times, unintentional mediator because she scares people so bad they can’t fight. Has to be forced not to clean up the nests (they’ve come to an agreement that she can wash everything once a month). The only one alastor really lets close. Overall a feared but cherished member of the pack

Pack history

- Angels only pack before Hazbin was his birth family, who just happened to be the mafia and not very keen on queer people or male omegas (omegas at all to be honest). Despite Val having his own pack of 3 he never allowed angel to join one, purposefully cutting off all his contact and making it nearly impossible through manipulation. He feared if angel had connections he would be harder to control

- Charlie’s only pack was her family, for a long time after leaving her family pack she tried to find one but nobody was willing to get close to the princess. The closest she got was with vaggie but a pack needs 3+.

- vaggie had a pack in heaven but it was tense and formed out of obligation instead of love, very happy to have her own pack now

3Vs

- vox, Val, velvet - the 3 Vs, a pack of alpha overlords that’s Constantly fighting for dominance, but do seem to care about each other. Very tight knit even if they but heads. are generally referred to as one of the more powerful (sinner) packs in hell. They all think they’re in charge but the power is spread equally and who takes charge depends on circumstances. If there was any one person in charge it would be velvet though. With such dominating personalities their pack only really works because they have other people to boss around, their employees and the souls they own. Since they have a pack bond their scents don’t bother each other. Pen desperately wanted to join them but they never even entertained the idea.

Dens
(Dens are an alpha as nest, however they are unlike nests in that there a whole room or space rather than a fixated structure)

- husk - hasn’t made a den since he gambled his soul away to alastor. He never stayed somewhere long enough to feel connected enough to claim it. The hotel was the first place he’d stayed long enough to make a den in. He didn’t even notice himself doing it until he growled at a non guest going into his bar space. Against the norm his den isn’t in the room angels main nest is in because that’s what Val did and he wanted angel to have his own space. But he’s allowed in his nest and you’ll often find angel sitting in the space under the bar (that he filled with pillows, neither of them have noticed yet but it’s becoming a mini nest)

- Vaggie/charlie - their room, smells more like Charlie then vaggie because her scent is stronger. Charlie makes sure to get vaggie to scent the room as much as possible to try and make the room smell like her too. The result is the room being very overwhelming to non pack mates. When angel started stealing they had already formed a pack bond but if someone without a pack bond came in they would be very territorial.

- Angel dust - fat nuggets is enough of a pup for him he’s not interested in human pups especially now that he’s dead. Maybe as a human but not in hell

- Vaggie - not ready for pups at all but later in life with Charlie would be persuaded. Neither of them want pups for a while though

- Niffty - pups are too messy, she would be fine with having a pup in her pack but not with her as a sole carer

General story building (2)

- Leading up to Charlie’s takedown of Val (see chapter General story building) val puts angel in snuff films as a punishment. After this film angel is so badly hurt that Val has to give him time off to recover. He kicks angel to the streets knowing he’ll come back when he’s healed and Cherri finds him with his entrails exposed missing both a limb and a few organs with a hole in his skull. She contacts his pack immediately and Charlie, vaggie and husk come to pick him up while the rest of the pack prepares for them. Back at the hotel alastor takes it upon himself for the first time ever to make a nest outside the comfort of his private space (in hell it’s the radio tower) and fixes up angels pack nest in the parlor to be comfortable when he arrives. Sir pentious and niffty while quite surprised are eager to do whatever alastor says to help angel. They get scents from each member (including clothing from Cherri) to bring to alastor so he can weave them into the packs nest without disturbing angels former work. When angel finally gets there (after being bandaged in the car) they all sit down in the nest and alastor even joins into the pack affections with only a thick blanket to block contact between him and d his family

General biology (worldbuilding)

- Omegas need alpha contact and alphas need omega contact. In this au it’s a both physical and mental health requirement. Just like in the real world how humans are social creatures that need interaction. Alphas and omegas are special because not only does not having adequate interaction with your opposed sex causes not only the consequences of mental isolation (paranoia, anxiety, jitters, being increasingly) but physical as well (heat and cold flashes, tremors, headaches) it’s kind of like withdrawal.

- Alphas and omegas go through this differently with different affects, alphas get more territorial and violent, there instincts tell them that there is no omega available so all other alphas are threat or competition. Omegas are the opposite. To ensure the future of their species their natural instincts when deprives of alpha contact is to seek out an alpha. In early stages of withdrawal they will still only choose an alpha they trust to be with but in later stages they will choose anyone.

- humans have evolved past the stages of constantly needing to ensure there species survival but the instincts remain in traces. While alphas and omegas no longer seek out an alpha to mate during withdrawal they still seek out comfort, especially since humans where meant to survive in packs. For people with balanced packs this is no issue. But for packless individuals and people in packs of only alpha or only omegas it becomes an issue. This is why it’s useful for packless to have friends of opposite sex. For example alastor has Rosie

- depending on the level of depravation different contact is needed. Sometimes just a hand on a shoulder or a scenting on the wrist is good enough and sometimes full skin to skin cuddling and scent marking in neck glans is necessary.

Heaven and exterminations

- the extermination plot line goes like it did in the show here. Even when they are redeemed however the Hazbin pack will not be going to heaven. When they are considered redeemed they are allowed to travel between all circles of hell, and visit heaven, they could go and live in heaven if they wish but will all make the choice to stay in hell with their pack. This is a privilege only granted to them as the princess of hells pack. Members with family in heaven like angel will often visit for prolonged stay it never more than a month. As of the time this au takes place in none of them have been redeemed though Adam and the exorcists are gone.

- A rambunctious alpha with an appetite for chaos, packless because she doesn’t want to be held down. Angel is her only friend. When pentious a nervous beta attempts to court her she rejects him. Her main fear is settling down and having to process her trauma, she’s happy angels recovering but cant see the same for himself

Scenting

- to angel scenting isnt really a intimate experience. He’s been scented by hundreds of people over his years as an escort so he sees a basic scenting as something very causal. This is not the average experience and he’s very surprised with the lack of scenting at the hotel even after they become friends. It’s Charlie who explains the intimacy of scenting to angel and husk who shows him what a real scenting feels like. The only genuine scenting from loved ones he’s experienced was as child from Molly and his mother which he barley remembers, now that he’s been reintroduced to the intimacy of scenting angel only lets people in his pack scent him. He especially loves when husk scents him. He’ll go to him on a daily basis and nuzzle up against him. Husk has learned how to read angels body language and realize what he wants without him asking.

General worldbuilding (3) Bonds

- Tertiary/full bond - generally just called a bond stereotypical bond, can only be fully established after about a year of a secondary bond, technically just a fully formed secondary bond but is identified with different characteristics. Tertiary bond is characterized by feeling full emotional range of your partner, unlike the other bonds it is possible to block or hide feeling through the bond.
- Secondary bond - after primary bond is formed secondary bond is built through a bite on the scent gland. Characterized by feeling baseline emotions of bondmate vaguely and strong emotions very pronounced
- Primary - very basic first level bond, often happens subconsciously and is bond most likely to be had between friends and pack mates rather than just romantic partners, turns into secondary bond through bite, secondary bond cannot take place until primary bond is built. Through the primary bond people can feel strong emotion

General storytelling

- losing one member of the pack is hard enough but 2, horrific. Unlike pent whose pack bond could not reach them from heaven they knew alastor was alive and in pain and distress. Though they knew he was alive they did not know where he was or if he was going to come back. After his last 7 year hiatus there was really no telling if his pack was enough of a deterrent from leaving again. When he showed up again it was a huge relief for the newly branched out pack. Though Lucifer and Cherri bombs joining was quite a shock for him alastor was (regretfully) quite glad to be back. Though he did try to draw away from his pack after his realization of how close he came to dying for them it ended up being an only a slight hindrance in his bonding and opening up. After all how could he pull away from the back that was constantly dotting over him. While demonic healing had its perks so did angelic weapons. Vaggie knew from experience that alastor would most likely regenerate and heal at the sam earth as a human. Charlie took the lead, feeling responsible for both alastors injury and still guilty from pent “death”. Making sure he underwent constant bandage changes and didn’t overexert himself. With the exception of Lucifer the rest of the pack followed. (Subject to change once the 2nd season comes out).

Angels
Powerful angels have the ability to change their secondary gender at will but too have one that they were born with, there is no omega bigotry in heaven and some sheltered angels like Emily don’t even know it exists. Winners keep the secondary gender that they had on earth but can choose to suppress certain aspects of it they don’t like. It’s a common practice get rid of their ruts/heats or mating instincts for single winners. Elder angels used to not have secondary sexes but as society progressed some of them that interact with humans more chose sexes. It is extremely uncanny and strange for any human to meet someone without a secondary sex. Even betas have a scent, being completely sterile of any secondary sex would be like missing a huge part of yourself to humans and they would instinctively be wary and unnerved of any angel without one. Non winner angels do not have what’s or ruts despite having secondary sexes

-sere- alpha, was one of the elder angels who chose her secondary sex to command authority

-Emily- omega, though she is a seraphim she was born in a time when angels were assigned sexes at birth to better appeal to humans, especially because her job is to keep the winners happy.

-saint Peter (guy at the gate)- omega (fun fact, they had to reshoot the welcome to heaven song because his woos where “to sexual”)

-molly- omega, even if they have different primary sexes twins always have the same secondary sex (plus angels intersex)

-Adam- alpha, thinks he’s hot shit, one of the reasons Adam and Lilith didn’t work out was because they were both alphas and clashed, that’s not the only reason though because eve is an omega and she also left him

-lute- omega, despite her domineering personality she is omegan. though with her exorcist mask you wouldn’t know. The exterminator mask blocks all scent giving an eerie effect. Internalized hatred for her omega instincts that are only exemplified by Adam

Personality disorders and abo

(Disclaimer I do not have aspd or bipolar if anything I say is incorrect or offensive please tell me in the comments and as always drop your own hcs and ideas!)

I hc angel has having bipolar (I know trauma could also explain his symptoms but iv seen a lot of bipolar people kinking him and saying he might be bipolar sooo) and alastor as having very low to no empathy and possible antisocial personality disorder.It’s canon that he can and does grow fond of people and he very clearly has a sense of justice and a moral code but how would that work with instincts? I think personality disorders would very heavily affect abo instincts considering they are in the brain (and personify disorders/trauma also interrupt human instincts) with angel I think he would have very little impulse control against the omegan instinct to stay safe. I also think alastor would have less impulse control and since he has low/no empathy he wouldn’t feel the usual parental urges of omegas even during heats. I don’t think he would feel protective of his pack because it’s shown in the show that he is very protective of people he cares about. He and angel both however would not have the omegan (and sometimes beta) instincts of stopping conflict within their pack. If anything they enjoy the drama though angel will step in and try to mediate if feeling really get hurt but alastor won’t.

Alastor and Lucifer conflict

- in addition to Alastors rivalry with anyone more powerful (especially men) he also takes issue with an unfamiliar omega on his territory. Especially when Charlie is supposed to rely on HIM for this kind of greater power help and not her absentee father. So he did the only reasonable thing, despite having no sort of parental relationship with Charlie he bluffed it. Hit him where it hurts so to say. And hurt it did, with his parental place,ent over Charlie being threatened their conflict only deepened. When alastor came back from his wounded escapade to find Lucifer had joined the pack tensions rose even more. Unknowingly however they both had the same base insecurity. Being replaced. Alastor being replaced in the one pack he’s had since his mother and Lucifer being replaced as Charlie’s omegan parent. Despite rising tensions the newly formed pack bond between them cued the rest of the pack in on the true source of these tensions. Despite Charlie’s expectations once the root of the conflict was realized it was not an easy fix. In fact her group meeting did nothing but increase the problem. In the end it took angel dust talking omega to omega about the fear of being replaced by a “more worthy” omega that they share.

Charlie and vaggie dynamic

- relationships between two alphas are difficult, especially when they share such an intimate and territorial space like a den. However they are possible. Like all relationships the key to a healthy bond is communication. If someone is feeling to territorial and needs some space then they will be given that space. Both vaggie and Charlie have places to go that only smell like them. Though there not used often, when they got back from heaven vaggie used her room for the first time in months to give Charlie some space. Despite both being alphas their relationship was made less strained by Charlies pure power. While Charlie doesn’t purposely use her royal power scent cannot be controlled. Charlie emanates power and vaggie naturally feels like submitting to her.

Biological worldbuilding

- male omegas and female alphas both most commonly have the genitalia of the opposite sex. However they are more likely to have miscarriages or be infertile.

- both angel and alastor have issue with insecurity about their places in the pack (Though alastor definitely hides it better). Since they are both not “stereotypical omegas”. Their packs reassures them that they wouldn’t want anyone else but the insecurity is still there

- Charlie is quite secure in her secondary gender though she tried to keep her scent more passive like she does with her horns and demon horns to come across as more passive and put people at ease. She does learn thought that while her demon form and dominant scent is threatening for others it’s actually comforting for pack members to know that they have someone so strong protecting them

Angels first heat at the hotel/ story building

- When angel first had a heat at the hotel he didn’t tell anyone because he was scared. He told Charlie that he had a week off work one day before his heat started showing and then hid in his room. During the first day of his heat when they tried to get him for breakfast they smelled it. Despite Vaggies jokes about having to chain him to his bed Charlie was quite worried about angel. Why wouldn’t he tell them? Assuming (correctly) that her scent would be too strong and would scare angel Charlie asked alastor to go check on him. Despite Alastors apprehension and fear of the sexual nature of most heats that he expected from angel he was quite surprised to find angel curled up in a defensive position in the corner of his nest/web. Despite Alastors distinct low empathy he found himself pitying angel. Despite not understanding or experiencing the sexual aspects of a heat alastor is very well versed in trauma and fear. Using this (and his lack of care for any injuries angel could inflict upon him) alastor is able to help Angel during this first heat and any after it (at least until angel starts to feel comfortable enough for getting his libido back)

Heats&Ruts (2)

- General - there is a chart in the parlor/pack room where they track all regular heat/ruts. Husk, Lucifer and alastor have irregular cycles (husk due to drinking Lucifer due to depression, and alastor due to depriving himself of contact).

- alastor - he especially despises the physical aspects of his heat due to his Autism. He hates being sweaty and the want for affection and connection makes him want to climb out of his skin. Even when he gets more comfortable with the pack he still fells the urge to hide away during his heat so the Hazbins know it’s starting hen they start to see him less. Also will most likely always have irregular heats because he is not comfortable with touch most days. Though he allows some people to touch him (such as Rosie) he is simple not able to do as much contact as is necessary for a regular heat (think of it like a short social battery).

- husk - husk gets headaches before the pre rut starts so he gets a day of advance to make preparations before his scent starts to turn. While this could be considered convenient husk hates it as the low thrumming headaches make it hard for him to do any sort of preparation that the warning would give him time for. Just another consequence of his drinking…

- Charlie - before her ruts Charlie has a much shorter fuse. Her red eyes and horns make their appearance known quite often during this time. Se he is much more protective of her pack and her scent is quite prominent.

- vaggie - during her pre rut vaggies protective instinct double. She has to be Coaxed down from her birds nest (the thing on the pirate ship) by Charlie.

- niffty - though betas sense of smell are lesser than alphas and omegas it’s definitely still there. Niffty knows instinctively when one of her pack mates is in heat/rut even if she doesn’t consciously realize what the smell is. During these times she tends to hang out around those pack-mates more. Mostly from the shadows. Following them from behind and leaving things they like in their path but sometimes she’s obvious about it. she is especially close with alastor during this time and often brings him trinkets from around the hotel. A (hopefully) rodent bone, a paper clip, scraps of fabric, a dead bug. Alastor treasures these and keeps them all in his room (even if he would never admit it)

- Lucifer - due to his depression and lack of contact he didn’t have heats for quite a while. So long in fact that once his heats started up again he didn’t realize what was happening. All he knew was that he was feeling hot and everyone at the hotel was looking at him weird. Eventually angel dust of all people pulled him aside and asked him what the FUCK he was doing walking around the hotel in boarder-line heat instead of nesting and resting. Despite his initial shock Lucifer took the news surprisingly well and accepted angels help nesting and overseeing what was bound to be a brutal heat (he also bought him some toys and got them into the hotel without Charlie realizing they were for her father, which he was especially appreciative of)

- sir pentious - actually tends to avoid his pack members when in pre heat/rut, he’s scared of being yelled at :(

- angel dust - at first he was increasingly paranoid during pre heats. avoiding people and locking his door at night. Now he’s more comfortable in the hotel. And during his preheats he is incredibly incredibly thirsty. Both literally and figuratively. You can either find him guzzling water straight from the sink or hanging off of husk like there’s no tomorrow. Before he and husk started sharing Charlie would use her power as pack alpha to make sure he stayed in his room and out of husks bed.

- Niffty collects little trinkets she finds lying around the hotel and gifts them to people she likes (the hazbins keep them in their dens/nests and pentious uses them as decorations for his room)

- Niffty is really fond of alastor and vice versa, when alastor was gone after the final battle she took it the hardest.

- though Rosie spends her ruts with whichever omega was unfortunate enough to catch her (and the rest of the cannibals) fancy alastor prefers to spend his heat alone. Despite his heat being irregular Rosie has developed a sixth sense for him and without fault always sends a gift basket full of questionable goodies and scented fabrics.

- Before the hotel Rosie was the only one allowed to scent and freely touch alastor. It’s common place in cannibal town to see alastor kneeling at Rosie’s feet with his head in her lap (a common non sexual behavior among omegas). Alastor often vents to Rosie in this position while she pets his ears.

Non sexual alpha omega gestures

- kneeling, it’s common especially in primary bonds for omegas to kneel of sit at an alphas feet with their head on their lap. It serves as comfort and an act of “submission” as some would call it, telling the alpha that this omega is protected by them and telling the omega that they are protected.

- Scenting, specifically wrist to back or other wrist scenting, more intimate forms of scenting like wrist to neck, neck to neck and scenting of more… intimate areas like the breast and stomach which are usually reserved for mates. A simple rub of the wrist over a cheek can be a simple but effective form of comfort for all secondary sexes alike.

- Cooking/making food for each other. This falls under general caretaking. Getting food for either an alpha or an omega counts as providing which fulfills an instinctual need in any of the secondary sexes.

- Gentling, gentling is when an alpha gently hold the back of an omegas neck with fingers pressing on the scent glands. It produces a calming effect. Depending on how powerful the alphas scent is and how willing the omega is to be gentled the gentling could either be a mild calming effect or a full on sedative akin to a drug or Subspace. It’s common for a pack alpha to gentle their omega and sometimes even alpha pack mates when they are stressed or sometimes when they are out of line. Though Charlie does not like to use this power on her pack mates when the pack gets closer she does end up using it on alastor when he attempted to antagonize (read attack) an innocent demon unprovoked. Thought he was initially upset alastor did realize he was rude and out of line and that Charlie was right to calm him. A more regular example of gentling would be husk gentling angel when he’s stressed or when he’s getting too rowdy at the bar. When this is done by parents it’s called scruffing.

Charlie asserting herself

- one of the first times Charlie truly showed her power as the princess of hell was at the final battle. After this realization that not everything could be solved peacefully she started using her power more. While she still tries to resolve things peacefully first she’s learning when to use her words and when to use her power

- (This will change when there is a canon explanation) one of the most public displays of Charlie’s power was when she freed angel dust from Valentino. Despite knowing about the abuse angel faced Charlie was forced to stand idle for immortals cannot break contacts unless the sinner asks for it, because if this she could not help angel. That was until Val gave angel an ultimatum. Leave the hotel willingly or I will make you and kill your pig. Faced with this choice angel finally asks Charlie to help break his contract. Charlie enlisted the help of asmodeus to take down Valentino and put him under strict regulation. Even with the help of asmodeus due to the rules set by heaven when the first man went to heaven and the first woman went to hell they could not completely strip him of his power but they could supervise him and his empire.

- thought Charlie had shown her power against people outside of her pack she had not demonstrated her authority over her own pack, until now. Alastor has a long history of antagonizing and bullying. And Charlie has a long history of attempting to stop him from doing so. But it was only when he went to far with the king of greed himself that Charlie truly had enough. During the annual meeting of the sins Lucifer decided to host at the Hazbin hotel. While most the the residents made pleasant (or in angel and Ozzie’s case not so pleasant) conversation Alastor, true to form went straight to hectoring. Attacking mammon in the attempt to get him to attack back. And it would have worked too if Charlie hadn’t stopped him. As they geared up to turn their verbal fight physical Charlie gentled alastor. Having him limp in her firm grasp within seconds. Though he was upset at first alastor did realize he was in wrong and was appreciative to Charlie for stopping him before he bit off more than he could chew. Even the mediator Charlie did eventually get mammon to apologize as well for feeding into the fight of someone much younger her and much less powerful than him.

- general lore - you can tell how powerful someone is by their scent. Each distinct sector of beings have their own scent. Goetia, royals/sins, overlords all have their own scents.

- Charlie - freshly baked cupcakes with a strong undertows of royal
- Husk - smoke, undertows of alcohol that’s slowly fading, cat smell (i guess you won’t understand it if you don’t have a cat but they have a certain smell when you just put your face in their stomach and inhale) soft undertone of overlord you can’t smell at first
- Vaggie - metallic, rough, savory, slight undertone of angel, Charlie always assumed it was because of her spear,
- Alastor - spells strongly of savory spices, wood and rain, strong undertone of overlord
- Niffty - at first you can’t smell her, her natural scent covered by various cleaning products, when you do smell her for the first time it gives you whiplash, like smelling salts, you can’t exactly nail down what it is but it’s sharp. When you get used to it it’s less shocking but it’s still quite distinguishable, faint undertone of overlord same as husk
- Sir pentious - coppery motor oil tang on top but once closer he has a much softer scent, still mechanical but with a cucumber undertone (I looked up what snakes smell like, apparently their dens smell like cucumbers)
- Lucifer - lemon tang with strong royal undertone

- the biggest pack in the entirety of the pride ring. run by the terrifying Rosie, an alpha who is known for her expertly run pack of tight knit cannibals. You hurt one of them, you hurt all of them. And if one of them likes you.. it’s either the best or worst day of your life. Due to how Rosie runs the pack it’s actually quite nice for hell, if you can ignore all the viscera.

Alastor and niffty relationship

- (will change once we get more info in the show) most demons on alastor leash don’t know him that well. Usually they meet him once or twice to make the deal and them he uses them from afar. Sending another unfortunate soul to tell them what to do. In this sense niffty is especially unique. She not only sees alastor daily, but lives with him, cleaning the radio tower. Doing both basic upkeep and cleaning up the more gory aspects of his residence. Not only this but alastor is actually quite fond of niffty, and vice versa as niffty absolutely adores alastor. Niffty was the usual deliverer of goods from Rosie during his heat. Due to this when alastor left hell niffty took it the hardest. Staying in the radio tower with only Rosie to check up on her alone for 7 long years. Due to her upbringing, life on earth, trauma on earth, and possible brain damage from her death niffties independence is questionable at best. Though she can and does do things on her own, such as cleaning the hotel and killing bugs bigger things are much harder for her to comprehend. This is why alastor allowed her to live and clean in his home despite being perfectly capable of doing it himself. Because of this niffty took it hardest when alastor left after the battle. She was battling the fear of being alone again. Despite their connection before Hazbin They were not packmates.

Setting husk free

- as their relationship progressed alastor realized that he could no longer justify keeping husk under contract. Unlike nifty husk wanted to be free. It wasn’t an immediate realization. It started with alastor simply exerting his control less, allowing husk to get away with more, treating him like the equal he is under their pack bond. Despite his newfound moral awareness alastor still couldn’t find it in himself to let husk go for something the omega hadn’t shown in years. Fear, husk had expressed that he was only at the hotel because alastor forced him to. And even though that was no longer true the fear remained. What would happen to his pack if husk left? Sir pentious, angel, niffy, how would they react. Despite his denial alastor does care about his pack, more than he’s cared about anyone since well his mother. And so he kept husk, tightening his leash, keeping his closer to the hotel out of fear of losing him. Until Vaggie of all people confronted him, empathizing with his fear of losing the ones they love and being oppressive because of it. When husker was set free it wasn’t a big thing, it wasn’t even mentioned. It was the middle of the night, one second he was owned the next he was free. Alastor didn’t mention it the next morning, ignoring husks stares. But though it was not mentioned it was changed as well as their relationship for the rest of time

Lucifer never trusted sinners, he gave them free will and this is what did with it!? He realized in the earliest years of hells existence how destructive sinners could be. And he decided he would not allow them to reign terror on the other rings. After all, he created the hell borns, they are his responsibility. This is how it was. All sinners confined to the destruction of the pride ring. And it stayed that way for millennia. Until the hazbins. Charlie’s hotel not only showed him family for the first time in years but showed him sinner’s potential. So anew rule was instated. If a sinner was considered redeemed by the standard of not causing destruction in other rings they would be allowed to travel as a hellborn would. The first sinners given passage from this rule were the hazbins, his daughters pack. With the exception of alastor and niffty of course.

- Now that husk feels safe in his pack (and with angel);when he’s tired his instincts (both cat and alpha) kick in a lot more, he will groom angels fur, make biscuits, rub his head against him, and pur, but also growl if anyone gets to close to his mate. He always pays special attention to angels chest fluff and the fur around his mating mark and angel is obsessed. After a while angel starts to mimic these behaviors subconsciously and will rub his head against husk right back even though non feline don’t have scent gland there.

- Cherri and angels were always closer than just friends, closer than just pack-mates even. Though angel is gay and Cherri couldn’t imagine a romantic relationship with him rumors spiral. Especially when the Hazbin pack becomes famous within the pride ring. Instead of upset or disgusted by this development both angel and Cherri found it hilarious. Cherri leaned into this in an attempt to annoy husk but found her attempts unfounded when husk was not only not annoyed but leaned into it as well. Telling angel to go get attention from his other alpha and let him work. After this there was full commitment p. If anyone had any doubt it was an okay joke to make they were squashed by husks involvement. It became a pack joke, Cherri even joking that she gets custody whenever her and angel hand out. (Also they def play it up infront of cameras and non packmates because they think it’s funny)

- growling - all secondary genders can growl though a betas growl is a lot quieter and less threatening than an alpha or an omegas growl, omega growls tend to be higher pitch but that depends on genetics, like how afab people tend to have higher pitches voices

- purrs - unless they have demon form that dictates otherwise only omegas can purr, omega purrs have the same property of a cats of decreasing blood pressure alleviating stress, and even aiding the healing process

- chirps - omegas alphas and betas all produce a chirping sound similar to a fox when exited or surprised

- not omegaverse - alastors radio affects is a verbal stim because he’s autistic and likes the way it feels in his throat, because of this when he stims he’s almost always humming (also angel has adhd)

- Large packs are a lot less common for hellborns, especially hellborn who live in cities. Hellhounds are a special case of connection, they have a very strong community and large hellhound packs are common. The culture differs from the ring to ring though

- Loona and blitz - familial packs are more common than not even with adopted children, though Loona reconnected with the hellhound community at bees party she still doesn’t have a pack of her own

- Stolas - the Goetia pack is a political pack rather than a familial one, they barley see each other but non the Les are one of the biggest and more powerful packs in hell, right after the sins

- M&M - especially in the city it’s common for mates to be 2 person packs

Scent repulsion

- scent repulsion (sr for short) is a condition that affects primarily omegas where they are repulsed by the scent of alphas. Some people are born with it and some develop it later in life. Many omegas have some mild form of sr, for example angel dust is repulsed by any scent that includes mint. There are however more extreme forms. Some people are repulsed by all alpha scents and live very difficult isolated lives, either living in the rare omega only communities or taking medications that stop them from smelling any scents at all. This condition can be genetic or be caused by trauma

- alastor suffers from a version of sr where he is repulsed by the aroused or in rut scent of alphas. It’s unclear whether this is connected to his asexuality or his naturally sensitive nose. He has had this condition since birth. He psychically recoils as if it has burned him whenever he smells an aroused alpha. as well as sr he also is sent into fight or flight whenever he smells an angry alpha due to his childhood trauma with an abusive alpha father.

- Lucifer also suffers from a form of sr as a trauma response from the fall. Whenever he smells an (unfallen) angel he experiences recoil and sometimes even flashbacks. He didn’t clock vaggie because she was fallen and covered in his daughter’s much more powerful scent.

Worldbuilding

- most deodorants are completely scentless to not mask the persons natural scent. Usually If a deodorant is scented it will clash with the wearers scent and make it seem crowded.

- Demons with claws can get silicone covered so they don’t accidentally hurt themselves or rip things. Angel got a bag from his work so alastor and husk could join in on the physical card games (chunky monkey business, slamwich, etc). Husk and angel also use them for… other activities

- Physical card games have almost been banned many times because of aggression. Blood has been drawn, accidentally and purposefully.

- Demons with fur need special brushes to keep them groomed. Demons with fur like angels need a soft brush while demons like husk need, well, a cat brush.

- there are compression clothes for omegas to put pressure on their scent glands (neck, wrists, thighs) and provide a faux calming/grounding affect. Alastor wears these daily as he’s autistic and enjoys the pressure. He gives angel some for his bad days and ptsd attacks and even begrudgingly gives Lucifer some for his panic attacks, anxiety, and fall trauma.

- some alphas who are insecure in their scents use “alpha cologne”. A artificial alpha scent meant to mimic an ultra masculine alpha scent. Despot its intentions most omegas find it repulsive. One time pentious got sprayed by a woman at the mall and when he got back to the hotel alastor almost killed him. He ended up being sprayed down by Charlie in the garden and slithered back into the hotel wet and ashamed.

- during ruts mated alphas will often renew their mating bite on their omega. Alphas without mates do not have this compulsion. So imagine husks surprise when his first fit since being mated ends with the one sad flat pillow he barely sleeps on ripped to shreds from his attempted mating. This wasn’t a problem for long as angel and husk started sharing cycles not long after.

- after the initial shock a mating mark is quite pleasurable to both omegas and alphas. A bit less so for betas because of the lack of pheromone reaction but mating marks still feel nice.

- over the year between tertiary and secondary bond marks the mated pair will gradually feel more connected to their partner. This process is so gradual that one might not even realize it’s happening. Over this time frame the scent of the mated individual will also change to include more of their partners scent

- alpha/alpha or omega/omega mating marks are usually more painful if the pair is on the same level of dominance and power. This wasn’t a problem for Charlie and vaggie because of how powerful Charlie is.

- for a mating to take place both parties have to be willing. If a forced mating is attempted the unwilling party’s scent glands will produce a foul smelling shock inducing pheromone when the other attempts to but them. If this is not enough and a bite is still placed their body will push out the mating venom. This action is activated by distress that will show in their scent before the biting even takes place. This becomes a problem for some alpha/alpha couples as instinct may take over at the last moment to not let another alpha bite them.

Charlie and vaggie mating

- due to alpha instincts alpha/alpha matings tend to be problematic on both sides. Usually letting another alpha near their neck is a big issue and so when two alphas are mating it is imperative that they stay calm. This was a problem for vaggie. While Charlie trusts everyone especially vaggie and had no problem letting her near her mating gland vaggie history of military and heightened instincts from paranoia proved to be an issue during heir mating. Even with Charlie’s calming scent the first couple tries at mating still ended with vaggie freaking out and pushing her off. While Charlie completely understood and sympathized with this struggle vaggie felt like a failure. Unable to mate with the woman she loved who seemed to have no problem with it herself. Eventually after consulting her uncles and aunts Charlie came up with an idea. Why not let vaggie mark her first. Usually when bonding marks are placed the alpha bites down first, then the omega. But in alpha/alpha relationships since there is no omega the more “dominant” or “powerful” alpha will mark first. Despite this being the norm Charlie discovered that it isn’t a firm rule. Unlike in alpha omega relationships the bond with not be rejected if the less powerful alpha bites first, with this knowledge they tried one last time where vaggie bite first and in her comfort and safety knowing Charlie was hers she was finally able to let Charlie mark her back.

- when Rosie has a rut she chooses a non cannibal town omega the propositions her when she leaves the town and brings them home. Usually after her ruts she will eat them like a praying mantis or share them with her cannibals but if she really lies them she’ll give them a chance to become a cannibal themself, and if she really really likes them she’ll either start a relationship with them or let them go with a invitation for tea next Saturday. Most omegas in the area know what happens to those who sleeps with but some still try with the hope of being one of the lucky few that postpone their deaths with a relationship (though they’ve yet to accept that those rarely end well for suitors either). Rosie will only choose those who have been in hell for a while because she feels it unfair and boring to go for a newcomer who doesn’t yet know the basics of how hell works. She enjoys the chase

- birth control medication can stop heats but it’s unhealthy to be on them to long so heat allowances are made and consumption is monitored by the omegas doctor, however even with carful monitoring and healthy breaks some omegas may feel depressed or detached from their instincts while on birth control and it doesn’t work very well for most people. While it was still popular after its creation the suicide rates of omegas spiked exponentially without proper control of dosage and needed breaks. Because of this alternative methods of birth control were improved and popularized like condoms and copper implant IUD’s as well as newer forms of birth control created.

Pack preening

- A common pack activity in heaven is preening each others wings and talking about the news. For generations it has been a way to catch up with the community and connect with members of one’s pack as well as a way to keep delicate wings clean and comfortable. Despite not being angel’s the Hazbin pack has adopted this custom due to 3 winged members of the pack with 2 of them being angels. This is convenient for both vaggie and Lucifer, vaggie went years without wings to preen and was out of practice, extra hands were useful. And with 3 pairs of wings and depression Lucifer’s wings were an absolute mess. Turning preening into a social and fun activity both gave him the comfort of home and helped him get back into the habit of hygiene after so many years of neglecting his needs. The Hazbin pack use this time to gossip, Recuperate after the week and check in on everyone. Even niffty and alastor get in on it. Niffty collects the plucked feathers and while alastor usually doesn’t do any preening he fills the air with jazz and conversation, stories and gossip he heard from Rosie and the petty arguments of the overlords.

Gentling

- Rosie gentles alastor quite often. For the longest time she was the only one with the power to do so. This is well known within the closed off community of cannibal town. However it wasn’t always this way. Alastors boundaries being known that is. The problem began when a new cannibal saw Rosie gentling alastor to stop his fight with Susan from reaching physical . This townsman decided to ask forgiveness rather than permission and assumed not only that alastor was in the pack but that he had the same power and rank over him that the pack alpha did. He soon realized he was sorely mistaken when his insolent power display was cut short by alastor whipping his head around a full 360, dials for eyes and mouth seeming a lot bigger, and a lot fuller than it did before. Despite cannibals usually having protection from alastors wrath there are some things that cannot be forgiven so easily. Rosie wasn’t that upset anyway, this particular cannibal had been causing problems anyway, challenging her position to other pack members because of her primary sex. As far as anyone knows nobody but Charlie has tried since. Though that belief was challenged when Lilith arrived at the hotel…

- for a long time husk refrained from gentling angel. Even after their mating he put it off, despite it being a common and calming gesture from alpha to omega. Thought husk knew this he also knew that angel was no common omega. Not because of personality but because of trauma. Husk feared that if he were to gentle angel, even in situations were angel was baiting him to do so. He would be no better than the moth that had made angels life hell for 70 years. Angel took this a different way. He saw husks refusal to gentle him as a rejection. It was the farthest thing from it but anxiety is anxiety and after weeks of tension and baiting angel finally broke down and asked husk in tears if he felt that he was to used for him. Dirty, so disgusting he wouldn’t even touch him. Husk realizing his mistake spilled about his concerns and anxieties and after a long and grueling conversation they finally agreed on a safe word to help signify if angel wasn’t ok with something outside of bed. The first time husk used this privilege was when angel was getting too roundly at movie night. Annoying pentious and attempting to start a food fight with their popcorn. A food fight that was only stopped by husks firm paw on the back of angel neck. This action was not only met with a sigh of relief from angel but from the rest of the pack as well, who had picked up on what was happing and we’re getting sick of angels desperate attempts to catch husks attention through annoyance.

- Lucifer suffers from extreamly anxiety and depression. This is especially bad on such an instinctual brain as an omega. One of the best ways he and Lilith found to relive this was gentling. Whenever he would work himself up into a panic attack or meltdown she would gentle him. With her especially dominant pheromones from being a female alpha and Lucifer’s submission to her in most aspects of life this was a great way to keep them both calm. Which made it even harder when she left. Though Lucifer was as old as time itself those years after their divorce seemed to stretch for millennia with the sudden withdrawal from the woman who kept him grounded. Constant anxiety attackers and even worse depression took a tole on Lucifer’s sanity and mental state. And it made him especially vulnerable when she finally came back. When Lilith saw him going into a panic attack instinct took over and she gentled him like she used to. However after years of practical celibacy from all alpha interaction a simple gentling sent Lucifer into a deep clingy almost Subspace. While gentling usually makes omegas feel fluffy this was another level and it took Lucifer many hours of clingy (fully clothed) worship of his ex-wife to finally emerge and take in the fact that she was back.

Biological worldbuilding

- Unless they are intersex female alphas cannot impregnate omegas and male omegas cannot get pregnant. Due to this they tend to have stronger scents and instincts to make up for not being fertile.

- despite common belief female alphas and male omegas are very important to society. It takes a lot to raise pups and it’s extremely useful to have an extra helping hand without more pups to come with them. Betas also fill this role but male omegas and female alphas have stronger instincts than any other sex and generally do this job better than betas. They are also much more eligible for adoptions without the risk of having their own biological children they will feel a stronger connection to.

- this is not to say betas aren’t important as they play the role of deescalating situations and helping out in places where instincts are not needed.

- the seraphim and elder angels only decided this after Adam and Lilith when they created omegas. Due to this Lilith does have retractable male genitalia as well as female genitalia. This is how she was able to impregnate Lucifer, a seraphim who can shapeshifter and does not have a set physical sex. (Also he’s the angel of creation)

Lucifer and Lilith politics

- though Lucifer is the official head honcho of hell everyone knows it’s really his wife in charge. Even in the days where the kings depression and self-isolation took a backseat for his family and his darling wife she was still in charge, in charge of him and in charge of hell. She was created as the first female alpha after all. Unless absolutely necessary Lucifer usually stays out of politics entirely. Much more focused on making rubber ducks. Despite them publicly fitting into sex stereotypes they both had equal parts in raising Charlie before Lucifer’s depression got so bad that Lilith took Charlie. Lilith did such a good job in fact that she set up a system to make hell self governing. This proved especially useful when she went to heaven and hell no longer had its biggest ruler.

Dens

- alphas tend to customize their dens to their preference. Whether this by bare or filled to the brim.

- husk - since husks den is the bar not much customization can be done. But he still makes it happen. His playing cards, little Knick knacks from niffty and old bottles filled with scented items all hide under the bar counter. And sometimes drawings from Charlie or gifts from other members of the hotel will find their way onto the shelves behind the bar.

- vaggie - though vaggie and Charlie primarily share a den they have their own for decompression during tension. True to form vaggie chose the crows nest as a den for constant surveillance of any threats the hotel might have. Though she has not made the usual modifications alphas make she has changed it. She insures that the roles are still tight and the structure good daily and has even installed a space in the floor of the crows nest to keep water and sleeping supplies if she ever needs to stay the night.

- Charlie - Charlie is the absolute opposite of vaggie and loves to fill her den to the brim! It’s filled with stuffed animals, scented items and positivity. She stuffs her den with the softest things she can find and fills it to the brim with positive affirmations, posters and drawings. Unlike vaggie charlie just uses a vacant guest room for her personal den. She assures Lucifer that it doesn’t need to be bigger and that she prefers it smaller with less to protect. This is just to places him as she doesn’t care about size either way but Lucifer is used to Lilith who wanted the most space possible for her den after so long of being oppressed and made small by Adam.

- (Subject to change when we know more about Lilith) Lilith - as stated before Lilith feels the need for a big spacious den after being confined to Adam and his wims for so long. Lucifer was happy to supply and so her den is multiple vast rooms including Lucifer’s workshop. Aside from adding or taking away things whenever her instincts call her too Lilith mostly allows Lucifer to handle any design, fining herself fond of his giddy joy at the circus and rubber ducky decor.

- Cherri bomb - Cherri doesn’t have a fixed den. As an explosive pyromaniac and up and coming overlord her houses don’t tend to last long. Due to this she comes have a set den. What she does have is terf that she defends mercilessly and vigilantly. This acts as a den for her and demons often find scented flags when encroaching on her land. Not that these sinners last long as if your close enough to see a flag your close enough to step on a. Land mine. Only Cherri knows the location of these land mines so whenever angel comes over she has to escort him.

- Sometimes Niffty gets stuck in glue traps and the hazbins have to simultaneously try and get them off of her and keep her from trying k take her skin off with them. It’s gotten to a point where they are no longer allowed in side the hotel and alastor has tried (unsuccessfully) to stop her from going anywhere near them outside out hotel. Why she keeps going near them is a mystery, but it may have something to do with the still alive rats and bugs trapped there.

- someone in the pack gets a laser pointer to fuck with husk but husk has already had experience with a laser pointer and it no longer affects him. However it does affect angel, tapping into a less known fact that spiders also follow and play with laser pointers.

Biological worldbuilding after heats/ruts

after ruts/heats - after a rut or heat has finished there is a period of a day after the fact to recover. During this time mated alphas or omegas will feel an instinctual need to care for their mate. Single a/o’s will take care of themselves or seek out comfort from friends or pack mates. During this period husk will groom angel with his tongue, to instinct driven to care about his usually embarrassed at his cat like traits. Alastor tends to fix things around the hotel or help people with menial tasks after his heats. and Lucifer goes on a creation rampage, making gifts for everyone. Another trait of this time is making sure their partner has eaten and is drinking water. A/Os tend not to eat or drink much during ruts/heats so eating afterwords is a must. After all a week of …activity with no food is incredibly tiring.

Alastor’s guide on sexes

- Female omegas - yes, given immediate grace. His usual candidates for friendship

- Male omegas - approach with caution but usually given more grace, much more situation dependent.

- Female alphas - given more grace than male omegas but still situation dependent.

- Male alphas - absolutely not, given no grace whatsoever. It’s very difficult for a male alpha to get into and stay in alastors graces and so far husk is the only one who has managed to do so. And it would not have been possible if alastor had not owned his would and known husk could not hurt him even if he tried

- alastors hatred of both alphas and men are born out of fear. His father was an abusive alpha male and set his expectations for all male alphas ever. When he gained power in hell he interacted with male alphas more under the knowledge that if necessary he could kill them easily. However if they pose any threat he will not hesitate to take them out. Alastor let his walls down slightly with Vox and after the fact vowed to never do it again. This renewed hatred led him to his harsh treatment of husk during their contact. Harsh treatment which had to be unpacked in uncomfortable therapy sessions held by Charlie after husk was released from alastors control. (It says a lot about Alastor’s character development that he didn’t abandon the whole hotel and disappeared again after being forced to go through that). People like angel dust were given a considerable amount of grace given his situation with Valentino and angel was allowed to make comments and jokes others couldn’t even dream of with only stern shoot downs and reprimands from the radio demon.

- during Alastor’s heats as a form of affection he will hold someones arm between his teeth in an almost bite without chomping down. He saves this affection for only people he has a very strong connection with. For a long time it was only Rosie since niffty wouldn’t stay still long enough but recently in the depths of delirium during his heats he will also play bite members of his pack like Charlie and sometimes even angel.

- Excluding Charlie Whenever a member of the hotel goes into heat/rut he makes fun of them for their sexual desires and flaunts the fact that he doesn’t have any as his heats are generally easier due to the fact.

- he does shed velvet in the fall and after days of bloody scratches of the wall where he has rubbed his antlers against nifftys wallpaper he finally agreed to allow angel to peel it off with a nail file. While angel did offer to file his antlers he didn’t expect alastor to start eating the shed as deer often do and almost refused to continue. They eventually reached an agreement where alastor would only eat the velvet after angel was gone so he could pretend to live in blissful ignorance of his pack-mates less “cute” deer like tendencies.

- he uses Charlie’s apprehension to take charge as pack alpha to do what’s ever he wants and while he was temporarily upset when she exerted the pose she was born with to stop him from causing issues with Mammon he was eventually quite proud of her for taking her rightful spo

- Large packs are a lot less common for hellborns, especially hellborn who live in cities. Hellhounds are a special case of connection, they have a very strong community and large hellhound packs are common. The culture differs from the ring to ring though

- Loona and blitz - familial packs are more common than not even with adopted children, though Loona reconnected with the hellhound community at bees party she still doesn’t have a pack of her own

- Stolas - the Goetia pack is a political pack rather than a familial one, they barley see each other but non the Les are one of the biggest and more powerful packs in hell, right after the sins

- M&M - especially in the city it’s common for mates to be 2 person packs

Helluva stolas nests

- in Goetia social standards male omegas are looked down upon, seen as not “real men”. Due to this all his life stolas was deprived of the ability to nest without harsh repercussions. When Stella had Octavia stolas relapsed in his repression of omegan instincts to take care of her but as she grew and his constant doting was no longer needed or wanted they started to go into hiding again. He on,y figured he should attempt to reconnect with that part of himself when he started his relationship with Blitzø. Not only a a but an alpha. Stolas kept this of “rebirth” of his more omegan instincts to himself. Dismantling his nests and passing off his chirps as a bird thing rather than an omega goetia thing. That was until a particularly bad night with Stella where she broke one of his favorite plants where he was so caught up in his nervous nest making that he lost track of time. Blitzo found it strange that he never saw stolas’s omegan traits outside of bed. Se he was almost relived when he saw stolas building a nest. That relief was quickly extinguished at stolases reaction to being “caught” in such a state. He quickly attempted to dismantle the carefully crafted nest and apologize for the “mess”. Despite blitzes insistence he didn’t care about stolas they had formed a primary bond. And seeing stolas so distressed especially while doing something supposedly calming and natural was almost as upsetting for blitz as stolas. After blitzes awkward reassurance that what stolas was doing was ok nests became a normal part of their full moon routine. And I’d blitz leave his scented clothes over on purpose than that’s nobodies business

Alastor and Lucifer nest

• when Lucifer’s instincts come back they come back strong and with new pack and years of depressed repression he was absolutely ecstatic to be working on a pack nest again. With his strong royal scent his place in the pack nest was well known from the beginning, even before he started making changes. Nothing too big, just a pillow there, a rubber duckie here, a red circus themed quilt layering on top of that abhorrent green duvet so he didn’t have to look at it. Unfortunately for their packs sanity alastor saw this last “small change” as the territorial spark in the powder keg and a declaration of silent war. Tensions built as the back and forth began. A pillow case scented over, a space repossessed. as the changes got bigger It got to the point where the other residents were not only noticing but actively peacemaking to try and stop a fight. angel took the lead role in these silent negotiations, being the only other omega and the only one who realized the true instinctual impact of messing with something as sacred as a nest. despite both Lucifer and Alastor’s fondness of the arachnid omega even he could not keep the peace as anger and resentment rose to new levels. The final straw was when mayor duckington the third ended up in the trash can 40 feet from the nest. Considering how powerful both creatures are the fight could be considered mild. But to the average sinner it was absolutely explosive. Despite a distinct lack of powers used (mostly on Lucifer’s front, after all his daughter did seem to have some sort of attachment to the deer) it still ended quite bloody. With Charlie being the only one powerful enough to break them apart, even gentling alastor and her own father like they were misbehaving pups. After copious scolding, from all sides, a written out peace treaty and an activity on sharing they both agreed to have opposite sides of the nest to themselves. With the boarders carefully marked out and contained as they were written in the beginning by angel dust to prevent any push on either sides and keep the sections even.

Sickness bio world-building

- generally sickness affects someone’s scent. this makes it significantly easier to tell when someone is sick from scent alone. Unfortunate the smell is quite unpleasant and a natural repellent

- heat sickness - only applicable to omegas, complications in ones heat that causes vomiting, fever, extreme cramping beyond what it normal and migraines. Heat sickness or hs for short can be a used by a variety factors. For some it’s a condition all on it’s own, a chronic lifelong illness akin to endometriosis. For others it is a symptom of a bigger problem like other illnesses and viruses, extreme stress or depression, and infection and major injury. Treatments for chronic HS are limited but other forms can be treated by addressing the root problem. Alastor found out first hand how threatening and miserable HS can be when his first heat after his injury by Adam hit.

- scent gland inflammation - like HS scent gland inflammation or SHI is usually a symptom or a bigger issue. It can be caused by allergies, other sickness irritation from clothing or chemicals. SHI is characterized by red or inflamed scent glands that are hot to the touch and leak a liquid oil like form of the affected’s scent. The scent isn’t changed by the inflammation. The scent glands feel very sensitive to touch and will sting and throb.

Elder omega - oldest omega in a pack who generally takes on a parental role, has as much influence on the pack as the pack alpha. Pillars of established packs and considered sacred in many communities.

Lucifer’s role. Much to Alastors dismay once he joined the pack Lucifer took over the elder omega role formerly occupied by alastor. Despite being in the pack the shortest Lucifer is the oldest by eons and the only member to actually have a child. Most pack members didn’t even realize the change as alastor had never officially taken that role and barely fulfilled it. A majority of the pack was just happy to finally have an elder omega and only husk realized the upset it caused alastor. Unbeknownst to alastor Lucifer also struggles either this position as he already fucked yo parenthood once and feels like too much of a failure for this well respected role. The only other time he had this role he was under the firm guidance and support of Lilith.

Things that can stop Heats&ruts

- stress - extreme stress tells the body that now is not a safe time to have a child and stop the cycle

- Medication
- Drug use (includes alcohol)

- Pregnancy - when someone is pregnant their cycle stops because they are no longer trying to reproduce

- Big environmental change (changes in scented around individual) - this ties into stress but is specifically triggered by changes in scent. Even if one doesn’t feel stressed in a new place the dramatic change is scent will alert their body it’s not a safe place to have a cycle. To combat this people scent wherever their new houses rigorously when they first move in. it’s usually a housewarming party where friends and family bring various scented items and lay them around the house. For heat/rut hotels you bring your own materials in cheaper ones and more expensive ones have special foam and blankets that absorb scent quickly.

- Sickness - cycles don’t stop for normal colds so when a cycle is postponed you know it’s time to go to the hospital

- Disability - some conditions cause the body to not be able to handle a cycle and some cause the cycle to not happen at all due to hormone imbalances

R: Depends on the person, for most people it’s about every 2 months but for some in can be 3 or 1, since it’s hell your demon form can affect your cycles. For example alastor has a much longer and harder heat during deer mating season, so for a solid month he’s both the crankiest and clingiest person ever, his pack mates arnt allowed to let him go but their also no allowed to acknowledge that he letting them hold him

R: I think it did exist like primary sex (male and female) did but since both Lilith and Adam were alphas they clashed and then they decided to bring omegas in, it was always the plan but they sped it up a bit

I can see Charlie wrapping her girlfriend in a blanket burrito to keep her from being in the crow's nest all day and carrying her back to bed. And Vaggie randomly giving Charlie her pets to weather her temper.

R: Oh yea they take care of each other during there ruts. Pentious should be glad he didn’t arrive when she was in one or he would have been more than threatened. And force has been used when vaggie wont come down (gentle force of course)

R: Kids present in their early teens at puberty. Omegas are treated like women in the mafia, (at least the 1940’s mafia idk anything about the mafia today)
They also don’t like male omegas because they are seen as “queer” and with the other added layer that angel is intersex

C: Oooo I like this! What exactly makes packmates? Is there something specific that makes the connection or is it just kind of like found family where they declare that person as their pack?

R: It’s a specific biological bond to do with scenting but you have to let people in to have one which is why alastor didn’t have any packs before

C: Awe this is a sweet chapter! I like that Alastor really just holds on because he doesn't want to let go and not as a power thing

Alastor does seem to also have a fear of losing control which can contribute to him thinking that Husk would leave him first chance he gets. I love how Vaggie also seems to read Alastor better as time goes and helping him.

R: I think vaggie also has problems with her fear of Charlie getting hurt of let down, this is fed into by her feeling protective instincts and the stereotype that alphas have to be the sole protector. It’s a bit different, fear of someone you love getting hurt and fear of someone you care about leaving but I think it has the same sentiment and that’s how she got to him

C: (Asterandink) This is adorable and I love it.
If it’s any help, I’ll list a few of my head canons. You’re free to use any/expand on any should they strike your fancy.
1. Husk and Angel host meetings for addicts as the hotel begins to get more patrons. They each use their scents to help with soothing or calming down anyone who starts to get too wound up. Even though they have different areas of expertise, they tend to sit in on one another’s meetings just to act as a backup in case things go south. What people don’t realize is that the real backup is the radio playing the welcome in music since if Husk or Angel say their code word then Alastor will come and step in.
2. Alastor and Vaggie are the hotels main security force and sometimes the less in-the-know guests will doubt them due to Alastors second gender and Vaggies stature. This bothers them less as time goes on but continues to bother Charlie well into the hotels years. She’s usually the first to comment and try to argue it but normally they won’t learn their lesson until either pushing one to show a little of their strength or they make a comment about one of the hotels other staff members.
3. Angel spends a few years trying to avoid bringing in anyone with mafia ties and avoiding his father’s part of town. Most mafia folks end up in hell so the family is still doing well and strong in its own corner of the ring. He eventually tries to redeem his brother but still hasn’t built up to talking to his dad. Partially because his brother is fully convinced he’ll get killed if he goes into that part of town again but also because he still doesn’t know how to face him.
4. One of Husks ex-wives ended up in hell and shows up to the hotel. Angel was all over Husk, Husk was trying to slink away, Charlie was trying aggressively to get her as a patron, Vaggie was doing the exact opposite, and it was just an overall disaster scene. Pentious ended up being the one to get her to leave by bringing her through the gardens locking the gates behind them. Charlie was devastated but Husk had never liked him more.
5. Cherri and Angel had a bit of a platonic bond before the hotel so sometimes they’re still more in sync than a regular packmate bond would expect. She also likes to try and bug Husk with it but he’s pretty much unphased. It eventually just ends with Husk telling him to go find his other alpha and let him work as a joke and Cherri announcing she’s got custody today. She also likes to say she’s the only chick that’s not a price mock up to scare Pentious.
6. Sometimes sinners will doubt the strength of their pack given how independent several of the members are. That’s all fun and games until they regularly have the king of hell over for dinner and their tiniest member is the one to kill half the intruders before they even make it into the foyer for being “dirty”

R: Yes yes yes omg consider it canon. “Go find your other alpha” is so accurate everyone in the hotel makes jokes about it and Cherri and angel def lean into it. I think that bring packmates with people so powerful would make their scents stronger so angel and husk using their scents in the aa/na meetings is 100% and alastor is def there on standby. I think the denizens of hell learn pretty quickly not to mess with the pack but there’s always new sinners and always someone who hasn’t heard of them, especially when they start to travel to other rings. They’re often underestimated because their pack alpha is quite gentle and their other 2 most powerful packmates are omegas but anyone that challenges them learns pretty quickly why that’s not true. I imagine that husk always randomly drops the biggest pieces of lore about his life like that he had 3 ex wives or was in a broadway show and everyone is just flabbergasted. Charlie might be gentle but she will not hesitate to stand her ground especially when her packmates are being threatened or demeaned. 10/10 comment you have just made my day I will now thing about this forever

C: Ooo I jsut had this idea but what a charlie x vaggie x emily onshot thing, like how Em is integrated into their relationship and stuff? Maybe their first ehat/rut with ecachother-

R: Lute is an alpha, I don’t really like any of the Emily ships so I probably won’t make a chapter about it but just for u I’ll write some stuff here
Emily probably has a hard time adjusting at first because not only is Charlie smell extremely strong and overwhelming but she smells like hell, something Emily is definitely not used too. I think she would take on the challenge though and eventually would get used to it. Since Emily also has a very strong scent vaggies scent is even fainter whenever they are together which leads to both of them trying to get her to scent things more.
I admit I don’t know much about this ship so this is all I got but if you have any questions on pack dynamics or worldbuiding I’d be happy to answer them

Soooo, is it liek one mating bite and it's down or to they have to redo it every 3 months or so? Or something like that?
I personally like the latter cause I don't like the 'you get a mate bite and your stuck for life' part so I like the idea that a bite fades after 3-4 months which fits perfectly with rut/heat time

R: Its a scar so it lasts much longer than 3-4 months but mating bites are renewed every heat/rut. The connection between mates is forever unless they purposely break it through

C: Dang I also missed this so much! This is my fun quick read that feels my hazbin and Omegaverse brain rot!
I think sinners would try their luck with Rosie because she's an overlord. (Tho does mating mean that the mate gets a fraction of the power) I feel that if one does get invited to Saturday tea they will end up grilled by Alastor (literally if they make a wrong move)

R: Mating doesn’t mean they get any if their power but they do get their protection, and Rosie makes sure to keep her friends tea time separate. Alastors not very good at sharing

C: I have a question and maybe you did cover this but I forget. Do the sin's count as a pack or like they themselves are one while they have their own?
For the ideas, for Fizzy perhaps with how Mammon is you can only be in his pack if you keep winning the Clown Padgett but with Ozzy he didn't feel obligated to be overexert himself for him.

R: The sins are a familial pack since they technically count as family at the start of hell and were a pack then. They broke up later in hells timeline but familial pack bonds never truly go away and are different from normal pack bonds. So they have both. Ozzie and fizz are a pack and beelzabub has one of the biggest packs of most hellhounds since they are very community based. When packs are as big as beelzabubs the bonds tend to be a bit weaker so only her closest friends and family have the level of pack bond that is seen in a normal sized pack though. This is vortex and recently Loona. I do like the idea with mammon but I think he would be packless since his greed keeps him from sharing things and I think he would definitely water down the idea of packs in a sort of marketable capitalist way so he would refer to fizz as his packmate whenever manipulating him but in the same way he refers to him as his son with no real bond

C: I love this! I like that you kept the obvious tension between lucifer and alastor and put it into an omegan activity if that makes sense. And Charlie treating them like pups really takes the cake

R: They have so much beef lol. I like to think the drama quieted down at least a little after this because they were both so embarrassed they got gentled. Especially Lucifer because it’s his daughter

Social rules in pentagram city and pride ring

- People are a lot more sex positive and it’s normal especially in the media district (Val) to see demons having sex on the street or engaging in Extream pda. However this is seen as a sign of lower class and lower power for sinners and would not be seen with any overlords. Except for Val who controls people with his sex appeal

- People who talk about their cycles openly are seen as either very sexual or very confident. Due to bigotry omegas are usually seen as sexual while alphas confident

- Thicker body types are appreciated just as much as thinner ones and in some case are seen as more desirable especially for “proper” or stereotypical homemaking omegas since it is seen as better to carry children. For this reason thinner omegas are seen as less modest and more overtly sexual and jokes about how thin omegas are infertile or will never have children because they are “whores” are a commonplace.

- pack alphas are expected to provide for their pack. Whether this be food, shelter, protection or support through cycles.

- I still don’t like the idea of the rest of the sins coming from heaven. I’d rather they were created when hell was but considering Lucifer predates secondary sexes I think he would be able to change his at will. He prefers the omega sex because he identifies more with the instincts but if needed he will and can change his sex.
