callout post for “@qingqiu” on twitter / “xiu ya” / “Shen Jiu”
this is a friend’s account of what happened with him, and i’m boosting it for visibility. i trust him completely, and i think it’s really important that everyone read this - @huanhua
i never make posts like this, but i feel like this is necessary to warn others to steer clear of this person. i’m tired of people supporting and defending him in this fandom when his victims try to warn other people. i’m calling out @qingqiu on twitter for his abuse of me and other people when i was a minor.
trigger warnings for abuse, suicide baiting, and problematic ships.
qingqiu’s urls are qingqiu on twitter and tumblr, xiuyawrites on his writing blog, clearautumn on his aesthetic blog, xiu ya on ao3, xiuya#1089 on discord, and his real name is shen jiu.
i normally don’t condone harassment, but if you see this post and do something to him, that’s fine, just leave me out of it.
i’m not going to identify myself because i was a minor when all this happened, but if you were there, it’s probably obvious who i am. please leave my name out of this i just want to move on. i’m just posting this because qingqiu is a dangerous person to be around.
background
i met qingqiu when i was 15. we were both in the cang qiong fandom, and i was really excited when he followed me back because he’s a big account and i was just starting out. at the time, he had the most kudosed fic in the fandom “to love and be left behind” (“tlablb”) so this was a really big deal. i dmed him about how excited i was.
he began by lovebombing me, saying how much he liked my art. and notice how he mentions my age. he KNEW i was a minor and yet he went on to do the things he did to me.
he completely flipped on me after a long but totally normal conversation we had once. here’s proof of him starting to ignore me
even though he was getting more and more distant i still followed him and drew him a lot of fanart for his fic even though he rarely acknowledged it.
the qing jing zine
i thought things were getting better between us when he invited me to be art mod for the qing jing zine. it was probably because my account was getting bigger, especially after i took my age out of my bio.
i worked hard to promo the zine and when artist applications opened i was excited to do my part. but qingqiu only told me to accept big artists, even though we said we were doing blind applications. i have proof of this below. i’m not saying what i did was right, but i was an impressionable minor and i really looked up to him. i just went along with what he said to do.
i thought the zine was going well, but he became less and less communicative once the preorder started. he would ignore messages from me for days on end when i could see him rting stuff on twitter. it was hard mediating between the artists who wanted updates on the status of the project and i ended up as the go-between.
one day i woke up to my phone blowing up. qingqiu had announced on twitter that it had been brought to his attention that i hadn’t been passing on his messages to the zine artists. he claimed that he had actually been trying to get ahold of me, and that i had run off with the money from the zine.
not only that, but he announced a zine kofi to get enough money to fund the zine anyway so people could get what they ordered.
i was hurt and betrayed. i tried to defend myself but nobody believed me. little did i realize it was about to get worse.
bullying
again i’m not trying to defend my behavior. i did draw nsfw as a minor and i’m not saying i should have done that. but qingqiu revealed that i was a minor to undermine my credibility for his accusations and so he could cancel me for my art. he wrote a 200 page callout post claiming that not only had i stolen $2000 from the zine, but that i had committed other crimes. this is the only screenshot i have from the (now down) callout post.
he claimed i had deceived him about my age, and that because of my age, he couldn’t pursue legal action against me, hence the need for the kofi. he never explained how i would have gained access to the money, but it didn’t matter. he had more clout than me and that was what mattered.
i didn’t know what to do and no one would believe me so i went inactive. he literally harassed me off the internet.
pouring tea on a child
now, look at this tweet from him. this will be important later, but is also important to the point i’m making right now.
now look at this tweet, made immediately after.
connecting the dots, HE LITERALLY POURED TEA ON A CHILD. he tried to dress it up in language that says implies it was an adult out of context, but with the context of the previous tweet it’s clear that he deliberately targets children and people who can’t defend themselves from him.
problematic ships
he also writes problematic fic. he keeps this lowkey because he knows it would get him called out, but if you check his ao3, he’s posted 5 pwps of xiu ya and xuan su.
this is proof in case he takes it down.
for those of you who aren’t cq fans, xiu ya and xuan su are brother coded. they knew each other as children, and their original names are connected to each other. the text literally says they regard each other as their other half, meaning that they’re one whole, meaning they’re related.
qingqiu pretends that he agrees with this commonly accepted fact in public, all while secretly writing xuanya AND kindating as xuanya with @qingyuan. @qingyuan has never done anything to me, so i’m leaving him out of this post, but he still enables qingqiu.
kinning outside his sexuality
xiu ya is clearly depicted as being bi in the show, visiting the brothels and having a romance with haitang teased. but qingqiu is vocally a gay man. by erasing xiu ya’s bisexual attraction, qingqiu is spitting in the face of this representation and perpetuating bi erasure. i just thought i should mention this.
verbal abuse and suicide baiting
when we still talked, qingqiu would verbally abuse me.
when i tried to stand up for myself, he would suibait me.
he has 30+ in his bio, he knows better than to claim he’s qi deviating upon mild criticism. this was a pattern of his, all of his victims can corroborate that he would hold his underdeveloped core against you if you tried to speak out.
one of his other victims has given me permission to include her account in here.
@yingying’s account
I was also 15 when I interacted with qingqiu. He claims to be an 18+ account, but he had minors, including myself, in his discord server. One of them (@mingfan) was even a mod.
He would regularly trauma dump on me and was weirdly friendly. If I tried to bring up ■■■■■■, he would tell me that he was a clout chaser who couldn’t be trusted. I knew and liked ■■■■■■, and he knew this, and I don’t know why he was involving himself in our friendship.
Nothing ever happened with him, but in retrospect our interactions were odd and left a bad taste in my mouth.
got @qingge suspended
I don’t have @qingge’s tweets because he’s suspended, but basically what happened is that qingge broke his leg. qingge was, in addition to being in the cq fandom, a popular workout content creator.
qingqiu replied with this to his post:
this upset qingge, who made several threats against qingqiu, and got suspended in the process. i don’t know why qingqiu chose to bait qingge that day, but he did. he has never apologized or shown remorse for attacking a fellow member of the fandom
follows wu yanzi
enough said.
irl crimes
when those three years i was offline passed, i knew i had to prevent qingqiu from doing this to anyone else. i knew he must be dangerous in real life. so i donated to the kofi he set up to scam more people.
i gained his email from this. it’s [email protected] i already knew that clearautumn was his aesthetic blog name, but 89 is likely his birth year. this will be useful later, but was useful enough now. i searched the email and found a pinterest account. the account had 1 follower. i won’t post that follower’s name to maintain his privacy, but i found that follower’s public instagram.
from comparing selfies, i knew that this was qingyuan, so when qingyuan’s instagram account posted a picture of his partner, i knew that that must be qingqiu. qingqiu’s instagram was private, but i did learn his first name in the process. i found his last name by looking at race results from a 5k the two completed together (i learned this from qingyuan’s instagram) and searched for mentions of that first name. so that’s how i learned his name was shen jiu.
but shen jiu is a common name, so i used the 89 birthdate to narrow down that he’s the shen jiu who lives in fremont, california. i can confirm that this is the correct shen jiu because i found evidence from the business’s website that there’s a shen jiu works at a fremont DAYCARE. that’s right, with children. the same children he was likely pouring tea on.
this all had a purpose. see, shen jiu has literally committed arson. here’s a link to the court documents. like i thought, qingqiu is a convicted criminal, and you should be on high alert in case he victimizes you like he victimized me.
